Yves Saint Laurent began working for the designer Christian Dior when he was only 17 years old. After Christian Dior passed away in 1957, 21 year old Yves Saint Laurent was put in charge of the label. Saint Laurent started his own label, YSL, when he was unexpectedly terminated from Dior. However, the Saint-Laurent fashion house was sold to Sanofi for nearly $600 Million in 1993, which was ultimately purchased by Gucci in 1999 from Sanofi. Yves Saint Laurent retired in 1998 and now lives in Morocco. I will take some time to talk about few of the best selling fragrances by YSL, such as Rive Gauche pour Homme, Kouros, Opium, Paris, and Yvresse/Champagne.

After three decades since the introduction of the feminine Rive Gauche fragrance, Tom Ford launched its masculine partner, Rive Gauche pour Homme. Rive Gauche Home is a very cognizant preference if you want to restructure the sentiment of many 70s colognes. Patchouli is a dominant constituent in this fragrance, which is augmented in the "intense" version of the fragrance. Rive Gauche is extremely powerful and a couple of sprays may last an entire day. Rive Gauche pour homme cooperates well with tepid skin, which formulates the fragrance to ricochet delightfully with its freshness, which makes it a great choice for night clubs that no other fragrance can challenge. Rive Gauche cologne for men contains the following notes: TOP NOTES: Bergamot, Star Anise, Rosemary, MIDDLE NOTES: Lavender, Geranium Leaves, Cloves, BASE NOTES: Vetiver, Gaiac Wood, Patchouli.

Kouros for Men was introduced in 1981 and is classified as a luxurious, spicy, lavender, amber fragrance. This is one of YSL's best selling men's fragrance and has been on the bestseller lists several times. Kouros fragrance is noticeably woody, and the bottle is shaped after Greek Architecture. You may fall in love with Kouros when you see the bottle. With its dense pasty glass like marble, the shape is so beautiful in it's straightforwardness. The fragrance is so redolent that a one ounce bottle may last a whole year. You only require a speck or two on your neck and you are good for the whole day. You may apply too much if you use the spray, which can cause the smell to be too strong to handle. However, Kouros, when used appropriately, is magnificent. Kouros is a very sexual fragrance and should be used scarcely. Kouros cologne for men is perfect for romantic wear and contains the following notes: TOP NOTES: Clove, MIDDLE NOTES: Oak moss, BASE NOTES: Incense.

Opium perfume for women was launched in 1977 by YSL, which makes it one of the most successful and classic fragrances. Once worn, you may fall in love with this masterpiece fragrance. The spices are so well intermingled together that no one note dominates. There may not be another scent out there that has so many spices that mingle so brilliantly in concert, producing a charming excitement. Unlike other feminine fragrances, Opium for women is not floral at all, which makes it so unique and distinctive. This fragrance is highly recommended if you are into oriental fragrances. At first it may not seem like there is much to it, and then it builds up into the most delightful sandalwood. Ultimately, it develops into an extremely pleasant scent. Opium will last a very long time, and be warned that besides being magnificent it may turn out to be exceedingly addictive.

The design house of Yves Saint Laurent introduced Paris perfume for women in 1983. Paris fragrance is very invigorating and is very innocent in nature. Initially Paris scents may come across as intensely sweet upon first spray, but then levels off to a soothing and calming fragrance. Paris has been one of the beloved fragrances for years. It's graceful, fashionable, dazzling, active, and just beautiful. Once worn this fragrance may become permanent part of your attire. Paris is also classified as a stylish floral scent with indications of citrus and musk. The name is quite proper since it in fact smells like an idealistic night in Paris. The scent brings to mind the illustration of an graceful dress and a ceremonial dinner. Although introduced in 1983, it still is appropriate for any age group. It's something that can be worn by older and younger generation. The fragrance itself is very formal in nature and goes excellently together with a dress on a romantic dinner.

The fragrance that is popular by two names says a lot about it. Yves Saint Laurent initially launched it with the name Champagne in 1993 for women. The name was later changed to Yvresse after some trademark ruling by the court in favor of Champagne makers. Although the name changed toYvresse, but it holds on to it's invigorating, sparkling qualities. <bio>Find Yves Saint Laurent perfumes and colognes on sale at Perfume Center.
Ask fashion worshiper's who their favorite designer is and you are sure to see one name popping up time and time again: Tom Ford ... Tom Ford ... Tom Ford! To understand the reason Ford is such a fashion icon and the impact this plays in the eyewear and entire fashion industry, it is useful to first look at Tom Ford's path to being credited as being one of the most influential designers of the last decade.

Ford's path to fashion legend began when he moved to the New York as a teenager, and enrolled at the NYU in Art History. In 1986 Ford started his career with famous American designer Cathy Hardwick as a part of her creative staff; two years later, he became the Design Director for Perry Ellis. Ford did not stay at Perry Ellis very long before joining Gucci in 1990 as the Women's Wear Designer and in an unprecedented amount of time Tom Ford climbed the ladder at Gucci and was appointed Gucci's Creative Director in 1994.

This is where Tom Ford's true genius showed. Before he began as Creative Director, the company was seeing stagnant sales and was losing market share. In Ford's first year at the Gucci helm he was credited with putting the glamour back into fashion because of the pioneering fashion trends he introduced, such as the Halston-style velvet hipster's. By 1999, the house, which had been almost bankrupt when Ford joined, was valued at about $4.3 billion. Gucci bought an interest in Yves Saint Laurent during Ford's time there, and he was appointed their Creative Director as well. However, in an unexpected turn of events Tom Ford left Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent in 2004 after a disagreement over his contract. Since then Tom Ford has fallen off of the fashion industry's radar...until now.

Tom Ford now emerges, as he launches a much anticipated sunglasses line. So why did Tom Ford choose sunglasses for his first solo project? When asked he responded "Well as far as accessories go, they're a personal favorite..." If Tom Ford was going to do sunglasses we new they must be something truly remarkable and boy were we right. The sunglass line is a throw back to decades past, in particular most possess that sexy seventies styling that Tom has so successfully made his own. The frames have an oversized and retro feel and can't help but remind you of an old Hollywood glamour. The sunglass colors are even reminiscent of the time with unique frame and lens colors such as various shades "Havana" and "Horn". Even the style names are as evocative of the era as the designs themselves, Farrah and Ryan for example. But there are also frames named after Tom's loyal assistant Whitney and his long-term partner Richard Buckley of Vogue Homme, that demonstrate the personal level on which this project has been carried out. Tom Ford has also created a number of Aviator sunglasses for Men such as Tom Ford Falconer or Tom Ford Hawking, which are completely distinct from your standard aviators. For example, Tom Ford Falconer is an over-sized aviator whose frame folds into its palm size case.

With Ford's extensive celebrity following, his sunglasses have been showing up on the red carpet all over Hollywood. Many stores already have a huge backordered waiting list for many of the Tom Ford sunglass models. It appears that Tom Ford is back in the fashion industry, and in a big way, with his new line of sunglasses. <bio>http://www.Eyegoodies.com carries the full line of Tom Ford sunglasses with free shipping.
"Carmen. I want every woman to be mysterious and ardent. I have this urge to be alive. To be somebody. I'm a gypsy by nature. I am Carmen." (from a conversation with Sophia Grosjman, one of outstanding perfumers in the world).

This answer was expected from Sophia Grosjman, one of the most brilliant and famous contemporary perfumers in the world. She has worked on blockbuster fragrances like Eternity, Tresor, Jaipure, Kashaya and Paris.

Born in Belarus over fifty years ago, she has always had a passion for flowers and scents. Very soon she immigrated to the USA and started to work at IFF as a laboratory technician. Each time she created a new perfume, she experimented it on her husband. She put the perfume on in the middle of the night, and her husband would say: "Can I smell?" "But the public is what I count on", she confesses.

Once, she worked on something very sexy, very spiritual; and got into a cab wearing it, the Indian driver said: "I can't drive". He loved it. He was ready to give her a longer ride. There is another interesting story that happened with Sophia Grosjman. When she has finished working on Yves Saint Laurent's perfume Paris, she sprayed it on her skin at the office before she was on her way home. It was late at night. She felt someone was following her. She started running. He continued to follow her. She kept running, and he was running after her, and then he said: "Please don't run. I like this perfume!"

Perfumes are much more than a beauty product nowadays. Yet, it is so easy to buy a new perfume today for you or as a perfume gift. The best place to buy new perfumes is definitely online perfume stores. Enjoy. <bio>Our experts made a research to find the best online perfumes store.
Today all we see splashed all over the internet, magazines and television are visions of famous people like Paris, Britney, and Lindsay carrying the hottest designer bags and wearing the best clothes and shoes. While Paris and Britney and Lindsay probably get a lot of their clothing, handbags and shoes for free from the designers just so they'll wear them (there isn't any better advertising for a designer),you and I have to pay $1000 for that BEandamp;D handbag that they carry, and those Tag jeans worn by Jessica Simpson will cost you at least $200.

If you desire to carry a designer handbag but can't handle the cost the place for you to visit is Bag, Borrow or Steal. They have wide array of designer handbags which they rent out monthly, or for however long you want. You can choose handbags from dozens of top designers such as Dooney andamp; Bourke, Perlina, Salvatore Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton and Chanel. These bags are guaranteed to arrive to you in like new condition, and you decide how long you carry it. Just like Lindsay and Paris and Britney you can carry the designer bag of your dreams. Imagine how envious your friends will be when they see you carrying a Fendi bag one month and a Yves Saint Laurent bag the next.

Another thing to remember is that there are plenty of clothing options out there that are reasonably priced and just as fashionable as their high-priced designer label counterparts. If you have the pocketbook to shop at eluxury that's a wonderful thing, but if you don't there are lots of alternatives for you.

Stores such as Carabella, Lew Magram, Avenue and Monterey Bay have wonderful women's fashions for a fraction of the cost of high-end designers. A fairly recent arrival on the fashion scene is the House of Dereon. The fashions from the House of Dereon are classic and multi-generational. Their fashions would look good on any 20-something, 30-something, 40-something and even on a fashionable 50-something. <bio>To learn more about Women's Fashions please visit http://www.fashionblast.net </bio>

A perfume is more than a fragrance. It is a way to affect one's mood, coincide with one's personality, and refresh one's spirit. Depending on what you will be doing, where you will be going, and what time of day it is, you will pick which perfume complements you and the situation best. Over time women have come to find that for most situations, French perfume suits them the best.

Perfume is an oil that has a fragrance that strongly appeals to our sense of smell. The oil is taken from flowers, herbs, plants, and seeds that have attractive scents. Over the centuries perfumes have been used as medicine and as offerings for gods and kings. As medicine, perfume was used to help people relax and rejuvenate. Often perfume was used to cover up body odor during times when people couldn't bathe very often. In the 1600s France began producing perfume and found great success in the perfume industry. People of power from all over the world would purchase French perfume. Today French perfume is still desired by the world and is primarily used as a form of beautification.

French Perfumes In Today's Society

With the captivating smells of French perfume, France is still the primary location for making perfume. Some of the most famous French perfumes that are currently used are Chanel No. 5, Joy (created by Jean Patou), Shalimar (made by Guerlain), and Opium (made by Yves Saint Laurent). The French perfumes are enjoyed so much that women will pay anything to get their hands on it. It has this amazing way of attracting people.

Most women have several bottles of perfume in their collection.

They have certain scents that they use for everyday used, some for going on dates, and some for when they are getting dressed up for a nice evening out. Typically if a woman has only one bottle of French perfume she reserves this scent for her dressy nights out. Spraying yourself with these scents is like putting on diamonds ear rings and a fancy dress. Somehow by using French perfume women feel more elegant and appealing. It is a great way to boost your confidence.

If you are lucky enough to own more than one bottle of French perfume, you can have the opportunity of wearing it on a daily basis. Imagine being able to have that feminine, sexy feeling everyday. <bio>Dola Raheem is the author of http://www.perfumessecret.com/why-is-french-perfume-always-in-demand he describes why Designer perfumes are so desirable, and explains how to choose the right perfume </bio>

Their website is setup more like an Internet Marketing Retail Store than many other MLM companies we have reviewed in the past, which means this company, unlike many others, knows a thing or two about Internet Marketing. One of the things they boast about on their site is their anti-aging creams and skin care treatments.

The company offers an opportunity to become an Independent Sales Representative. As a sales representative, you sell Yves Rocher products to friends, family, and others for a commission percentage.
Collecting antique perfume bottles has become much more popular in recent times especially with the advent of such new and interesting markets as online auctions. The numbers of varied types of perfumes is undeniably huge which means that there is a need to carry at least those many different perfume bottles similarly. Essentially, these bottles serve to appeal to the client helping to sell the perfume and thus must be attractive and sure to catch the eye; consequently, it really should not surprise anyone that the perfume bottling business is huge and amongst the innumerable manufacturers of such bottles, the name of Pochet SA - a French corporation stands out.

Pochet SA Is A Most Celebrated Bottle Maker

If you have ever bought a bottle of Givenchy, Coty, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Calvin Klein or any other equally celebrated brands of perfume, there is a great chance that the perfume bottle has been assembled by Pochet which is a corporation that descended from Verreries du Courval and also Pochet DeRoche that have very many years of experience in producing glass and porcelain items. In fact, the first and foremost perfume bottle that contained designer perfume was commissioned by Empress Eugenie in the year 1858 and was the task of Verreries du Courval.

The means of making a perfume bottle changed and during the 1930's they began to be fabricated by machine and major part of the inspiration for such bottles appeared to come from Hollywood, while an organization named Lalique that was subsequently bought by Pochet had an excellent bottle that contained the 1932 classic fragrance named Je Reviens that on the whole resembled a skyscraper from New York and came in a package in a chrome finished box.

Another interesting feature of the perfume bottle is when the scent has been used and the fragrances are gone, the bottles, especially those from bygone days are items that are treasured even further than the scents that they held. In truth, if you are lucky enough to own an antique perfume bottle, you may well be the owner of a minor treasure that will fetch a fantastic price and which is much sought after by other bottle collectors.

So, the next time you go overseas ensure to inspect the numerous antique shops that may carry an antique perfume bottle for sale. Nevertheless, that is easier said than done because many of these bottles have an asking price in thousands of dollars, and pretty much prior to you purchasing one of these bottles, you had better not spend on something that is not to your liking, and if you cannot help but collect these bottles, do so with those that you find really attractive in that you can take pleasure from them for further years to come.

You can even find antique perfume bottles in places other than antique shops, and apt places to look for them include estate sales or auctions, yard sales, flea markets and also thrift stores and especially Internet auctions. <bio>Charlotte has a great site full of tips on discount perfume.
Brittany is just a pleasant ferry journey away or you can take the motorway from Calais or even fly from many UK airports to several in Brittany. The sheer number of high- quality golf courses in Brittany make it the ideal location for golfers seeking a luxury holiday with easy-to-get-to access and that French "je ne sais quoi!"

Here are 5 courses that should make you consider a Brittany golf holiday.

5. Dinard

The oldest golf course in Brittany (and the second oldest in the country!) starts our list. Designed by celebrated golfing architect Willie Dunn all the way back in 1887, this is a course that has improved with age and simply has it all: great golf, sensational coastal views and a charming Art Deco clubhouse. It isn't for novices though, despite being a short 5814 yards -- it starts off easily, but quickly ramps up the difficulty to tax the most experienced of golfers. If you can manage it, try and play midweek as it's popular with members at weekends.

4. Nantes La Vigneux

Nantes Vigneux is full of surprises -- fortunately, they're all of the pleasant variety for experienced golfers. Designed by Frank Pennink, this course really is a hidden gem. Lovely fairways, delightful woodland, and a relaxed atmosphere are countered by the difficulty of the small greens and the River Cens. First timers may struggle to get a good score, but this is one course that gets better every time you play it, meaning that one Brittany golf holiday may not be enough for this gem.

3. Val Andre

At only 15 years old, it's easy to overlook Val Andre as a young pretender to the prestige of some of the older golf courses in Brittany. However, Val Andre is one of France's best "new" courses. The wide fairways will do their best to lull you into a false sense of security but that will soon vanish after your first three putt on the tricky greens (made all the more difficult by the coastal winds!). Expertly maintained, Val Andre is well worth a day's golf on a golf holiday in Brittany -- not just for the course, but for the fabulous views and splendid seafood on offer in the nearby coastal town.

2. Saint-Laurent

Perhaps the most famous golf course in Brittany, Saint-Laurent has hosted the PGA Championship on numerous occasions and offers a suitably challenging parkland test. Tough off the back, friendly off the front, you have to have all the shots in the bag to put a good score together. It's a classic design with great variety and a lovely "clubby" feel to the place.

1. La Baule

La Baule is the most popular golf course in Brittany and one of our clients' favourites. What you get is two fine 18 hole courses -- the Red and the Blue - and the jury is out as to which one is the better. With a hotel on site, many clients "play and stay" for a few days, enjoying not only the golf but the nearby resort and myriad of restaurants. The golf course designers were Dave Thomas, Michel Gayon, Jack Nicklaus Jnr and Peter Alliss - they don't disappoint. This is parkland golf at its prettiest and requires a tight driving game to the lush fairways. As they say, "keep the ball in play and the pars look after themselves". With the round topped off by the smart thatched-roof club house, golf days in Brittany don't come much better than this.

Honourable mentions must include the courses at La Bretesche and Saint Malo...With so many great courses and just a short ferry and drive from England's south coast, Brittany makes the perfect escape for golfers. Consider a golf holiday in Brittany next time you feel like hitting the fairways with friends!<bio>Morgan Clarke is the Managing Director of Your Golf Holidays, a company that has been providing bespoke golf holidays for over 25 years.
If you heard the words "medical dog" you could have a number of different thoughts. Some people might look confused, others might look amused thinking you're pulling their leg. Yet others might try in vain to find out what it really means, and some people might even believe you're referring to the growing popularity of using medical dog tags as jewelry. For my part however, if I hear the words medical dog mentioned I immediately think of the giant Saint Bernards who gained fame by rescuing unfortunate travels from dangerous snow bound situations.

Probably no one has ever called the Saint Bernard a medical dog, though that is the picture that always comes to mind. These gentle beasts are popular with many people and have long been considered a family dog. They love children, and can live peaceably with other animals as well. They love as much attention as they can get and are very affectionate.

As a medical dog in the present day, the Saint Bernard isn't much utilized, but in the days when they were bred especially for the purpose of coming to the aid of people in need, the Saint Bernard was in full demand. The greatest and most well known of these dogs was a Saint Bernard medical dog named Barry.

The earliest Saint Bernard breed was bred with a short, glossy coat which made it easier for them to stay in the freezing weather conditions, whereas the latter breed of Saint Bernard with the Newfoundland mix sported a longer coat. This was unsuited to the prevailing weather conditions as their shaggy coats would always be full of icicles. This ruled them almost instantly as a good breed of medical dog, and the original short haired Saint Bernard was kept for this purpose.

If you're getting a Saint Bernard medical dog for your family, you need to realize that they grow very large and very fast. So you'll need to have somewhere that your dog can stay without tearing your house up into shreds. You'll also need to be able to give it enough nutrition during its formative growth years as these medical dogs need to be kept nourished constantly to help in their massive bone growth.

As a family dog, the Saint Bernard loses much of the need for it to be a medical dog, but don't close that door just yet. These dogs are very intelligent and will rush to your aid if there is something amiss. Much as they used to in the early days of the 17th century.

You can picture it in your mind. The great Saint Bernard making his way through the treacherous snowed in passes to save unwary travelers from a plight of certain death. And don't forget to add the small cask of brandy around the Bernard's neck. That adds the finishing touch to your mental picture of the great medical dog, the Saint Bernard on his medical rounds. <bio>Author's Sites: http://dogi-food-recipes.blogspot.com , http://cat-food-recipes.blogspot.com , http://www.easyhomeremedy.com/pet_care/natural_pet_care_index.html </bio>

We all know that the lifestyles of the rich and super-rich differ markedly from those of the average citizen. Nowhere is this better pointed out than in the world of ultra high-end fashion, otherwise known as haute couture.

While the general populace tries to figure ways to save money so that the family car can be filled up with nearly $100 worth of gasoline, the super rich are jetting to private showings and fittings in various countries or having their own private sales consultants flown in from Paris to assist with six figures worth of couture expenses.

One day after a recent Paris showing, clients lined up in a queue two blocks long in order to make sure that they would be able to purchase the fashion creations that interested them the previous day. "We know that there are a very limited amount of these designs created and if we did not act quickly we would be out of luck", one well dressed woman said.

There is little doubt that couture continues to flourish despite the economic hardship elsewhere. Double digit sales growth is showing up across most couture houses and, what's more, the client base is increasingly expanding towards the east and is coming from among the nouveau riche of the Middle East, Asia and Russia.

What is interesting is that executives of these high-end fashion houses are seeing no reduction of interest from their American clients, despite the economic problems in the United States. It appears that haute couture is the ultimate luxury and makes very important personal statements about the owners of these fashions.

It was not too many years ago that the experts were sounding the death knell for haute couture as a long list of fashion houses discontinued their couture activity. Yves Saint Laurent, Emanuel Ungaro, Balmain, Jean-Louis Scherrer and Hanae Mori are all examples of companies that closed their doors to the haute couture line.

Ah, but that was then. Now, sales of those that remained to serve this niche are roaring ahead and these houses are expanding and hiring temporary help to keep up with the demand. All this seems to underscore the belief that at this very high end of the market, clients appear to be impervious to economic downturns.

The clientele for haute couture is very demanding and requires much attention as is evidenced by the fact that couture sales teams are often required to fly halfway across the globe for a single days work. When all the extras are added up it is not at all unusual for a client to be handed a bill in excess of one million dollars for that seasons high end fashions.

The world of haute couture is certainly a different world and if you are to dress the part you must be ready to pay if you want to play. What is surprising is that there is no shortage of players; even in times of economic turmoil.<bio>The Teacher (aka John Pawlak) has been involved in education for over 25 years.
It is safe to assume that probably 9 out 10 people use perfume on an everyday basis. Be it to the office, to keep fresh or for a wild night out, perfumes have become part of our daily lives. When did the perfume make its first appearance? This is something that we like to find out.

It is believed that the perfumes first started way back in the 10th Century BC among the Medes and Persians, primarily to hide their bad hygiene. During that time, scented waters and aromatic lotions were made out of rose, fig, absinthe and nard. These were also served as aromatic wines. The Egyptians also used perfumes for the purpose of mummification. In fact, research has shown that the Egyptians even considered perfumes to be part of worship. Their perfumes were made from flowers and spices like saffron, irises, cinnamon, heliotrope, myrrh and cedar oil. Egypt was probably the first lead for perfume in the ancient world. The Greeks and Romans also had an equal love for fragrances in the ancient world.

During the arrival of Christianity in the period of Galo-Romans to Gothic Era, churches were known to have used perfumed wax candles and fragrant incense. The essence of perfume stretched all the way to the period of monarchy of Valois Kings, Renaissance and Bourbons Kings. At these times, perfumes were even used as magic potions and whatnots to entice and deceive -- totally different reason and purpose compared to modern times.

The modern perfume revolution came into full swing when perfumer Paul Parquet created the first modern perfume for Houbigant in 1882 under the name of "Fougere Royale". A method known as enfleurage was used to process the natural ingredients. This method produces very fine tuberose and jasmine oil but in small amounts hence making them extremely costly. During the industrial revolution, powerful European chemical companies made a breakthrough discovery in aroma-chemical such as heliotropine, coumarin, artificial musk, vanillin, ionone and l'hydroxycitronellal.

The dawn of the 20th century marked crucial discoveries for perfumes. The first discovery was in 1903 when Moureu and Delange discovered methyl heptine carbonate and methyl octine carbonates which fragrances were similar to those of violet leaves. The surfacing of department stores in Europe was the perfect platform for perfumers like Francois Coty who was the first person to produce a combination of natural and synthetic fragrances.
If you find Nice none too nice and Cannes a little over-run then a visit to Mougins might just remind you why the French Riviera remains one of Europe's premier holiday destinations.

Situated just 7km (4 miles) North of Cannes, Mougins is considered as chic as its more famous neighbour, yet it offers a haven from the over-commercialisation and over-development that affects certain parts of the region.

Mougins is very much the destination for those in the know and has attracted some of the greatest cultural figures of our time. Yves St. Laurent, Jean Cocteau, Isadora Duncan, Christian Dior, Winston Churchill and Catherine Deneuve have all called Mougins home at some point in their lives and it was here that Pablo Picasso chose to spend the final fifteen years of his life.

Though occupied since Roman times, the majority of the village dates from the 15th century when it was the property of the Monks of Saint Honorat from the nearby Iles de Lerins, located just off the coast of Cannes. Nowadays many of the Abbey's former properties, including hundred's of luxury villas and apartments, are available to rent in Mougins.

Many people use the town as a base from which to explore the region and, during the Cannes Film Festival, villa rental in Mougins is big business, with luxury villas only available at premium prices. Fortunately, being blessed with a warm and sunny climate, the Cote d'Azur is a viable destination year round and off-peak villa rental in Mougins is not only affordable, but can provide value for money for people who require more than just a hotel room.

Set atop a hill overlooking the bay of Cannes, this former fortified village is also a wonderful destination in itself. Its narrow alleys, cobblestone streets and beautiful vistas give it an air of a movie set perfection that makes it an ideal destination for a romantic break.

The beauty of the village is complemented by a wealth of boutiques and cafes, while the more cerebral will enjoy the Museum of Photography which contains work from such famous photographers as Lartique, Cartier-Bresson and Robert Doisneau. Just outside of town, on the A8 Autoroute, one can find the Musee de l'Automobile which houses a large number of classic and racing cars including Ferraris and Bugattis, and for the 'sportif' amongst you there are scores of great golf clubs within a short drive.

But one can't talk about Mougins without mentioning the food. The village is home to more Michelin rated restaurants than any other region in France. The best known of these is Le Moulin de Mougins, owned by the celebrated chef and writer Roger Verge and considered to be amongst the best restaurants in all of France.

Although Mougins has a number of good hotels, perhaps the best way to enjoy the area in an authentic a way as possible is by considering using one of the companies that provide rental villas in Mougins. They offer a great choice to suit all budgets and all requirements, whether you are looking for a luxury villa with swimming pool, or a smaller apartment to rent in the centre, Mougins has something for everyone.

Getting There:

By Air

The region is extremely well served and boasts two nearby airports, Nice Côte d'Azur (15 miles) which serves 10 million passengers a year and Cannes- Mandelieu which serves a more exclusive clientele.

By car

The journey from Paris takes 8 hours via the A8 motorway; from Monaco and Nice, the same road provides access from the opposite direction.

By rail

The TGV rail services provide access to Cannes from major French cities. Other cities with rail connections include London (9hours), Brussels (6 hours), Milan (5 hours), Basel (10 hours), Rome (10 hours) and Venice (10 hours).<bio>www.cotedazurvillarentals.com - Beautiful villas in Mougins for Cote D'Azur Villa Rental.
Dogs are great rescuers. We all know that, but some of them are better at the job than others. What could be nobler than saving lives. Barry, who lived and made history between 1800 and 1814, was one of the greatest rescue dogs the world has ever seen. Barry was a Saint Bernard dog who earned worldwide fame for the brave rescue operations he carried out during his lifetime. His painting by Salvatore Rosa still hangs in a hospice in the Alps of Switzerland.

Saint Benard dogs have such a keen sense of smell that they can smell out people burried deep in the snow. Barry, like other Saint Bernard dogs, was trained by the monks to rescue lost travelers in the Alps. The Bernards, on finding a man to be recued, lie on top of the person and start licking his face to wake him up. Simultaneously they bark out aloud calling the monks for assistance, hearing which the monks would come with a stretcher and warm blankets to keep the person warm. The fellow is then taken to the monastry and is served warm tea and food.

Barry was an expert rescue dog well versed with the rescue drill and amongst his famous rescue adventures there is this famous story about a young boy who was found stranded on an icy ledge, all covered with thick snow under an ongoing, heavy snowfall. It was not possible for any man to climb that icy ledge, but Barry braving all adversity crawled inch by inch to the injured boy. As the drill has it, Barry started licking the boy's face but the snowfall was too heavy and the ledge too difficult to climb for any monk to reach the boy. So, there was no help coming. The boy, however, woke up due to Barry's warm licks and wrapped his arms around Barry's strong neck. The dog pulled him carefully and bravely from the ledge and brought him to safety.

It is just one of the many gallant rescue stories of this great rescuer Saint Bernard. He lived from 1800 to 1814 and saved more than 40 lives in his lifetime. <bio>To get more information on pet dogs, dog breeds and dog training and care visit http://www.thepetdogs.com/ </bio>

We have seen numerous examples in which mortgage insurance is a more cost-effective alternative to a second mortgage. Many Saint Louis MO home buyers select the wrong loan program as they are misinformed about mortgage insurance.

Home financing can be complicated enough, but the Federal Government has done its part to add to the complexity The Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006 provides for new tax code that has implications for Saint Louis MO homeowners.

The act specifically addressed itemized deductions for government mortgage insurance (MIP) as well as private mortgage insurance (PMI) premiums paid during 2007.

For all residential loans initiated during the 2007 calendar year, qualifying private and government mortgage insurance is tax-deductible for a borrower so long as two qualifications are met:

1-Household income for the borrower is $100,000 or less in 2007

2-The residential loan is secured against a primary or secondary residence

The deduction is phased out for households earning more than $100,000. The phase out is at a rate of 10% reduction per $1,000 of additional income. The deduction is completely phased out at $110,000. So, for a non-married single homeowner who earns $90,000 in 2007 and buys a home utilizing a loan program with Mortgage Insurance (MI), the MI expenses would be tax-deductible in 2007.

Ah, but like many things, there's a catch! The new tax code was enacted for a finite period of time and is due to expire December 31, 2007. Unfortunately, until the act is extended, there is no guarantee that MI will be tax-deductible in 2008.

For borrowers, without deductibility, mortgage insurance was a fairly expensive option when compared to second mortgages (i.e. HELOCs - home equity lines of credit). Post August 2007, with the market for second mortgages becoming smaller and more expensive, the relative cost is leveling.

We have seen numerous examples of Saint Louis MO borrowers for which mortgage insurance is a more cost-effective alternative to a second mortgage. Many Saint Louis home buyers select the wrong loan program as they are misinformed about mortgage insurance.

A full analysis via a mortgage planning session with a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist should be conducted in order to determine which residential loan product is the most suitable. This is especially important given the "temporary" status of the mortgage insurance deductibility. The mortgage interest deduction applies to FHA, VA and conventional loans. <bio>Kevin Cottrell is a Realtor with Cottrell Realty Group with Keller Williams Realty Southwest in Saint Louis Missouri.
Saint Vincent, one of the British Windward Islands, is a place to be visited on its own as a Caribbean Vacation Getaway.

Saint Vincent tends to be tagged as Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, which includes islands like Bequia, Mustique, Canouan to name but three. What then happens is that tourists arrive at Barbados, catch a flight to Saint Vincent, and another flight or a boat to the island in the Grenadines they will be staying on, without taking any time at all to discover Saint Vincent island.

St Vincent is 18 miles long and 11 miles wide, covering around 133 square miles, so it is big enough to ensure no-one gets bored on a Caribbean family vacation because there is something for everyone, and there is no risk of getting lost provided you have a good map!!

There are lots of reasons to stay on Saint Vincent, and it is worth doing some research because it could be the ideal choice for a Caribbean family vacation.

The island of Saint Vincent is the big island of the Grenadines, and is a mixture of rugged mountains, lush forests and many empty beaches. It has an active volcano to the north of the island called Soufriere which as recently as 1979 spread volcanic ash over a wide area.

This helps the locals with their fruit and vegetable growing, meaning unlike other islands in the Grenadines they are self sufficient.

Soufriere is a great attraction if you are energetic and a bit adventurous, being just over 4000 feet above sea level.

Insofar as the rest of the island is concerned there is a small but bustling with energy capital called Kingstown down on the southwest coast With a hire car you can choose to go north on either coast and the road winds along the coastline. The eastern Atlantic Ocean or Windward side is a pretty rugged, rocky coastline with pounding waves which seem to come uninterrupted all the way from Europe. Some of the coastal scenery is dramatic.

On the other hand a trip up the West coast, which is the Caribbean Sea, or Leeward coast has most of the islands beaches and spectacular scenery. Having said that the best and most beautiful beaches on Saint Vincent are on the south coast, one in particular called Villa is only about four miles from Kingston.

The question of where to stay in Saint Vincent is easily solved because the island has a range of hotels to suit all pockets and tastes. Some would be perfect for a Caribbean Family Vacation, and other perfect for the Caribbean Vacation getaway. Amongst the latter, and almost certainly one of the best hotels in the Grenadines is Young Island a tiny and very exclusive hideaway off the south coast. Equally exclusive and definitely suitable for a Caribbean vacation getaway and only reachable by boat is the tiny Petit Byahaut only four miles north of Kingstown on the Leeward Coast.

Possibly the best value for money is The Tranquillity Beach Apartment Hotel, and Beachcombers Hotel a good choice for families.

There are a number of other hotels certainly worth doing some research on.

There is one certain fact and that is Saint Vincent is beginning to be discovered. It is beautiful and unspoilt and local people treat visitors with a courtesy and respect not always found on a Caribbean Vacation Getaway.

For more information about Caribbean Vacation Spots go to http://www.caribbean-vacationspots.com/pages/Site-Map.html <bio>Gordon Steven writes exclusively for http://www.caribbean-vacationspots.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and has visited personally many of the places he reports on, and has done extensive research on the others </bio>

The history of practice of wearing religious medals dates back to the early days of the church.

Also known as patron saint medals, the images of Saints cut into these coins and often the words pray for us are cut into the medals forming usual the outer edge or the back. It is a common that the wearer of the patron saint medals often pick one that is in somehow are related to something they do or to someone that inspires them.

It is possible that the wearing of medals dates back into the Greek and Roman times and got carried over into the early church as a way to honor the early martyrs of the church. Exhumed bodies, as early as the 1st and 2nd centuries had the bodies wearing images of St. Paul and St. Peter embossed on a coin shaped piece of metal. These early medals have provided stories and lore of what happened to some of the martyrs in eh early days. For example St. Lawrence was believed to have been killed over an open fire. There are medals from the early first century depicting him being roasted over an open fire forming picture that tells a story.

In the early church there was many crossing overs from pagan tradition. Things like Christmas trees and advent wreaths and even saint medals, devotional medals, are believed to be having some roots into paganism mimicking the practice to wear items designed to ward off evil or disease. To reach and convert as many as possible to Christianity, the early church did reach out and allow these customs to be introduced. As they continued to evolve they became items that were used to remind folks of promised they made to others or to Christ himself. In the 1500s the custom of blessing these medals was approved by Pope Pius V. From that point forward, the agreement to bless these items was seen as an approval by the catholic church to allow these items and moved them from their pagan roots.

Usually on these coin type items the person of an famous person, event or shrine are struck to remind the wearer of these past event, miracles or dedications. They also may request personal graces like the reminder of First communion or for the priests, ordination. Medals showing events became very common as they recalled the miracles of Jesus and the apparitions of Mary

Some of the most popular medals are the Miraculous medal which was struck at the request of the blessed mother to Saint Catherine Laboure in 1830. Many now wear this medal believing it will bring them grace if they do so with piety, meaning with religious or spiritual devotion. St. Catherine is in an open glass coffin where here uncorrupted body is visible to all that go to see her.

In the 20th century its common that religious gift shops carry saint medals.
A busy executive took leave to attend a meditation course conducted by a well-known saint. At the end of the course, he told the saint, "Revered Sir, I agree that meditation gives peace of mind. It takes out lots of pressure out of our mind. And you say that I need to do meditation at least one hour daily. Sir, we business executives are very busy people. I am unable to spare one hour for meditation!"

The saint replied, "The purpose of meditation is to make your mind pressure-free and pave way for your happiness. Here the coral is healthy and fish of every color and shape are abundant in the warm tropical water.

The tiny islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have rightly been described as paradise, perhaps only here can you experience the authentic Caribbean which some feel has been lost forever.

A part of the Caribbean which consists of a number of islands each with its own special charm, with not very many residents, all of whom love where they live, and live in a traditional Caribbean family way where family values mean everything, and friendship is respected above all other things.

Life is different in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines where small islands mean little need for cars. Where people work to live and don't live to work.

Islands where you can snorkel right off the beach, or hike winding paths worn smooth by generations of local feet.

Beaches unspoilt by modern and noisy electrical appliances blaring out their raucous beat, not that you won't hear a bit of Caribbean sound!

Small family owned hotels where you don't need air-conditioning, television, or fancy cocktail bars to tell your friends about, to know what a great time you are having =96 Grenadines style. Islands where you will a welcome guest in their neighborhood, where when you smile and say "Hello", will mean the biggest Grenadines smile and response.

A group of islands where the Tourist's children are actually made welcome, and not just tolerated.

The Grenadines may have undeveloped roads, they may be isolated from what now passes for mainstream Caribbean life, but this isolation has great advantages too. If you are worried about any issues relating to crime, then you can just about forget them in the Grenadines. If you have heard that certain parts of the Caribbean are less than welcoming and are disrespectful to tourists, then you will have no worries in this direction.

If you feel their comparative isolation will make the Grenadines difficult to reach, then forget that worry too.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are some 1600 miles south east of Florida, and St Vincent can be reached by connecting flights from Barbados, St Lucia, Martinique or Grenada, all only a short hop. You can reach all the islands onward by connecting flights or ferry service. It's remote, but it's not difficult.

For your next Caribbean Vacation Package, choose Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, because you won't regret it for one minute.

For more information on Caribbean Vacation Spots go to http://www.caribbean-vacationspots.com/pages/Site-Map.html <bio>Gordon Steven writes exclusively for http://www.caribbean-vacationspots.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and has visited personally many of the places he reports on, and has done extensive research on the others </bio>
