Do you worry a lot? I mean, are you someone who just finds all the pitfalls in life? Do you worry about money, your job, or your family? Do you worry about global warming, rising prices, or who will be the next President? If you have ADD on top of all that, you really have a time bomb waiting to explode within you. Plus, the ADD hyperfocus could cause you to spiral into a downward vortex, from which you can't recover alone. Don't allow that to happen to yourself. Recognize what's happening and take action.

Extreme worry brings serious stress, and is totally non-productive. When you spend a lot of time worrying, you aren't acting positively by taking steps to solve whatever the problem is. You could even be worrying about something you have absolutely no control over.

For example, do you worry all the time about what people think of you? No matter how hard you try, you can't make people like you. Some will; some won't. That's just how it goes, and that's true for everyone, linear-thinking people and ADD people alike. That kind of worry does you no good at all.

Chronic worry can affect your health. Living in a constant state of fear and anxiety can affect you physically. Headaches, stomach trouble, and muscle tension are some of the milder symptoms of worry-related illness. But worry can also affect your heart. And then, expect your ADD symptoms to increase in intensity, too. You'll be more distracted than ever. You can't let worry overwhelm you.

Long-lasting, all-consuming worry is a medical issue. When you just can't stop, in addition to ADD, you may have Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). However, as with ADD, the symptoms have to be severe enough to disrupt your life, and you must have been worrying excessively for more than six months. You'll also show physical symptoms of the worry, and have trouble sleeping. When all these are present, you may have GAD. And GAD isn't just for adults; it can start in childhood.

If your symptoms are this severe, you should seek professional help before all the worry hurts you. You don't have to suffer. But if you're just a now-and-then worrier, then consider talking your worries out to a trusted friend. Listen as they pick apart your gloom and doom scenario, and try to let things you can't control go. Deal with outcomes, not "what ifs." You probably won't remember what you were worrying about two weeks from now, anyway.

ADD doesn't necessarily bring worry along with it as a side companion, but your tendency to hyperfocus could make worry stronger in you than in linear-thinking people. Why worry about things that haven't happened? You waste so much time that way, but that's easy to say. If you're just a born worrier, you can't stop it. Try putting your time toward more constructive activities, hyperfocus on something that you really love to get your mind off the worry track and live a happier life. <bio>Tellman Knudson is a certified hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner, who has helped many of his clients to cope with the symptoms of ADD.
Do you find yourself worrying all of the time? Do friends and family consider you a worrier? Chronic worry is a form of anxiety, and although everybody worries at one time or another, worry can become problematic when it becomes uncontrollable over an extended period of time. If you find that your worrying is interfering with your life, below are some steps to help you to regain control over your worry.

1. Identify your top worries. Common topics of people's worry are finances, timeliness, and health and well-being.

2. Figure out what you can reasonably do (if anything) to resolve the sources of your worry. For example, if you're worrying that you might have bounced a check, go balance your checkbook. If you're worried that you might not finish that English paper in time, make a timeline for yourself and get started immediately. If you're worried that you'll be late, promise yourself to leave 10 minutes earlier than usual (and follow through!).

3. Admit that worrying doesn't solve problems. Once you've done what you can to resolve your worries, it is highly likely that you will still have remaining worries. Worry is like using a crutch even though you are strong enough to walk without it. At this point, if you've followed instruction #2, there is nothing more that can be done productively. Your job now is to recognize and admit that worrying does NOT solve problems. It does not prevent problems or help you to prepare. That was the purpose of #2! The bottom line is that you need to convince yourself that there is no purpose for worrying. In fact, worrying causes you to feel worse, tiring you out or taking up time that could be spent doing something that is productive.

4. Identify a time and a place where you can engage in scheduled worrying. As most people find it difficult to just stop worrying, it is sometimes comforting to allow yourself some time to worry. The trick is to limit the worry to a specific time frame and specific place. For example, set aside 20 minutes in the morning when you sit on a particular couch to worry. Then, set aside your worries and go about your day. If needed, you could also set aside another 20-minute worry period at the end of the day. As a side note: while it may be tempting, do not choose your bed as a place to worry, as you want to leave your bed as a place for comfort and relaxation.

5. Repeat the above steps every day. Practice will help to make you more efficient in identifying your worries and figuring out how to resolve them. Practice will also make it more likely that you develop skills to control your worry, as you will first learn to move your worry into scheduled periods and then eventually, you may learn how to shorten your worry periods. Ultimately, you should aim to feel satisfied with your resolutions to situations (#2 above) and not feel that you must rely on worrying. Many people often are pleasantly surprised to find that they do not need to worry!

If you are having difficulty following the above steps and continue to feel worried all of the time, you should consider seeking help from a mental health professional or your physician. He/she can help you to take steps to control your worry.<bio>To learn more about controlling your anxiety, you can watch a short video at this website: http://e-InfoProduct.com/Video.htm Tamas Gloetzer is also a publisher of several anxiety related e-Books.</bio>

Worry is something that every one has. it is seen even in teenagers who have worry about school or even in the youths who face problems at school and work and for adults there are many reasons that they will feel worried, as the responsibility that they carry on their shoulders is immense. In short, none of us can escape worry however much we control it. The very cause of worry is stated as fear of loosing someone or something (job). Worry is a sign of a normal human that has daily stress and fears. But if this worry of yours is acting as an obstacle in your daily life than you need to get rid of it. A person that is always worried cannot give his productive best. So for you to avoid worry it is very necessary to find out the root cause and demolish it from your life.

About 4 millions Americans are said to be prone to generalized anxiety disorder every year. Also the people around the globe that are affected is very high an astounding 13%. GAD is seen more in women than men. It is caused due to genetics but the main reason seems to be daily stress that has to be handled. In this state person always worries about his financial problems, family problems, work, and health. At times the person with generalized anxiety disorder feels worried about the things that are of least of concerns. This will lead to a person's ill health where he will find that he has headaches, sleepless nights, lack of concentration, stomach ache and so on. As all our problems are related mentally it is our mental state that needs to be taken care of above all. Our mind is the one that has been creating problems so far, so it is a must to eradicate the ill thought and replace it with something that can help a person.

If GAD affects you then you can look forward to get the best help possible. The best treatment for this is hypnosis, hypnosis deals with your mind allowing it to relax from the daily stress that had caused a state of worry for it. Hypnosis takes your mind to a subconscious state and allows it to calm down. Once done with this it is directed to looking at things positively, where fear will no longer trouble you and you can carry on with your daily schedule without getting disturbed by worry. This treatment is made available for you in the form of mp3; you can download this from the Internet. Once done with this you will see that hypnosis has helped you with the problem of GAD, which earlier seemed to be difficult for you to get over. Not only will this mp3 treatment help you with driving away worry from you but also it will teach you new techniques in handling such situations. Wouldn't this hypnosis help be great for you in eliminating worry from your life and giving you your normal life back?
Worry though seems to be one word; it holds the power to change one's life completely. Worry can incite you to take wrong decisions which can prove fatal in later stages of life. Thus, one needs to keep worry at bay if he/ she want to emerge successful in battle of circumstances. Winners and losers are differentiated by a thin line and the point which draws the difference between two is the way they take situations which life throws at them. Winner never feels worried and stays cool whereas looser tend to behave as grief stricken and is unable to handle the situations well. Though it is not difficult to stay calm and composed but if you feel you get webbed by worries easily, you need to know how to prevail over worry and keep yourself calm.

First of all you must ponder over the way you take situations coming across you. Whether you take things in an aggravated manner or not e.g. if you feel tensed when a new task is assigned to you without having an insight into it and the way you can get your work accomplished, you worry about how to do it. If tension and panic are your first reactions, then you need to work on this aspect of yours. You need to change your attitude. Attitude is the way you perceive the situations. You need to stay positive and should ask for more details regarding work or should sit and try to extract the reasons which are responsible for the present state. Once you have figured out the reasons, the next thing you should look out for are the ways to make the normalcy restored. Always remember, don't take any decisions in haste or in tension as often you make wrong decisions. Moreover, being worried you are not able to think for any alternative which would exist. For this, you should consult your friends or family as they look from different view of point and may be they can conclude a better solution for the same situation that wouldn't have came into your mind earlier.

Often we aggravate the conditions when we seem to get worried but the need of hour is opposite. You need to keep your head cool and shouldn't panic if you want to prevail over worry. Make yourself relaxed, sit down and try to ponder the possible solutions for the situation. The best way is to jot the solutions on a paper which comes in your mind and then try to apply those solutions and think of their consequences. Remember, only positive frame of mind can bail you out of the present state. After eliminating some choices, you will conclude the best solution for that situation.

You should have faith in yourself and shouldn't lose it any moment. Try to apply the best possible solution having faith you can get the things right or can overcome that situation. Always remember, half battle is always won in mind. Thus, to prevail over worry you need to have a calm, composed and positive attitude towards the situations. <bio>Joel Teo loves to help people succeed in their lives.
The first principle of Reiki states, namely today do not worry. This phrase is meaningful when practicing Reiki, or in day to day living. There are several purposes behind the origins of and using this phrase as the first principle for Reiki. This principle has expanded to be life a philosophy for people who practice Reiki. This principle can be said to have originated with the beginning of Reike, out of several different sources and ideas. It is the same philosophy behind several different proverbs and it is said that the ancient god of Avesta stated the same thing. They all believe that good words and good deeds originate from happy thoughts. In relation to these principles, Reiki has developed a method in which letting go of anxiety and worry allows one to see goodness.

This principle, relates to Reiki practices in several ways. Reiki is used to heal and alleviate of blocked energies. When one is worried, it creates extra blocked energy. Then, one who is either in a Reiki class or using a practitioner for healing is kept from being able to create a better flow of energy. By choosing not to worry, the universal energy is allowed to begin to move through you and unblock the energies that changing. In relation to this, is the idea of constantly refraining from worrying. After you have completed a Reiki class, it may be easy to allow the anxieties of every day life to build. However, it is stated that by doing this, it will also consistently block one from seeing the universal energies of the world.

After you have completed a session with a Reiki practitioner, or in a Reiki class, you should be able to feel the universal energies, as well as greater joy and contentment in your life. If this is blocked by worry and anxiety, you will continue to have problems receiving Reiki from the universe. It may also cause the blocking of other energies again.

When one makes the decision to let go of worry, they are open themselves to the universal energies that are surrounding them, both during the Reiki session or outside of it. By doing this, negative energies surrounding them will be unblocked. Those who follow this principle have found that it results in change in their world. They notice it in their mind set as well as in their reactions that they begin to develop to others.

The first principle of Reiki is based on letting in all that is good in the universe and for letting go of the negative energies that may be inside of you. Following the first principle of Reiki will allow you to live a more relaxed life. It will also allow the idea of Reiki to permeate your life. By choosing not to worry, it opens you up to the universe and to letting joy and goodness into your life. <bio>Mary Brown writes for several online magazines, such as http://fotid.com and http://parip.com </bio>

Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do good things happen to bad people? Why does life often seem so unfair? And what does all that have to do with your chiropractic practice?

Those, and more, are questions "street scholar" Mark Matteson seeks to answer. In a time when chiropractic income is going down, expenses are rising, and chiropractors are facing a multitude of other issues, Mattesson gives chiropractors techniques they can use to reduce worry in their lives. That's because, according to Matteson, author of the bestselling Freedom from Fear, worry isn't only stressful. It's a waste of time.

"Worry is a misuse of the imagination; it's negative goal-setting," says Matteson. "The analogy I like to use is fog. One square mile of fog is simply 12 ounces of water. But when we hit that fog when we're driving, we either slow down or stop. And that's what fear does. It shifts our focus onto the wrong side of the ledger. We just need to understand that worry is an illusion."

Matteson says fear is a roadblock to success. Fortunately, though not easy, it is possible to get rid of worry.

"Worry is imagining what you don't want to have happen, and it's a habit," he says. "The good news is, I can unlearn a habit. The question I like to ask is, where's your focus? Is it on the things you want, or is it off the things you want?"

Because of his proven and practical techniques, Matteson is in great demand as a keynote speaker, seminar leader and management consultant. He says he attempts to take the best parts of his books, Freedom from Fear and Freedom from Fear Forever, and integrate them into each presentation--much as he's planning to do at the International Chiropractic Appreciation Mega Event (ICAME) in Las Vegas in January.

Matteson says he wants to inspire every audience to "raise the bar" and achieve higher levels of personal and professional performance. And, when it comes to Matteson's advice, you can be sure it comes from experience. One example is self-confidence. Matteson recommends a kind of journaling to boost self-worth.

"When good things happen, write them down. I've been doing that for 15 years, and it's dramatically changed my self-concept. At the risk of sounding arrogant, what's it's done is bolstered my self-worth," says Matteson. "It's built my confidence, and people buy that confidence. That's no less true for speakers than it is for chiropractors."

In fact, Matteson says self-confidence and self-esteem have a great deal to do with getting rid of worry and experiencing success in chiropractic offices.

"I believe personally that people buy you. In the chiropractic industry, you're developing a relationship," Matteson explains.

"It's a relationship business, and you can't give away something you don't have." <bio>Anyone involved in the chiropractic industry can download free chiropractic podcasts through iTunes or by visiting http://www.ParkerVegas.com.
Triggers are what interrupts emotions and causes us to become angry. When we learn our triggers, we are taking a step in the right direction to control our emotions. First, we need to weed through the roots of anger to determine the problem. If you have obsessive anger, outbursts you might want to get a physical to eliminate chemical or physical roots of your anger.

Next, you will go to a mental health expert to eliminate mental illnesses that are often the root of anger. After you have done step one and two and the problem does not lie between mental illness and physical then you will need to attend anger management classes. Obviously, you have no control over your emotions; therefore, you will need to learn techniques that help you to cope better with your fears, frustrations, anxiety, depression and emotions. This will help you to move ahead in life and gain control of your anger.

You might want to ask your self what you are afraid of or what are the triggers of your anger? You might review the thoughts carefully to see if you anger is justifiable. Are you afraid to speak up and protect your rights? Is there something in your past that leads you to worry obsessively and enforce your anger? Maybe you were a victim of some incident in your past or you witnessed something that disturbed your conscious and you rambled through life without dealing with the stressor.

Regardless, you are affected somehow and your emotions are not cooperating with your thoughts. Some of us fret over things that are out of our control. For example, many of worry about growing old or dying, which is not in our hands to worry about?

We all are growing older each day and it is a part of life that is out of our control. Likewise, we are all at risk of dying. It is how you deal with that makes or breaks your success. Accepting that you are growing old is the first step to eliminating worry that leads to anger.

Take the fear and reverse by telling your self that age is a factor of life that we all must face, yet I have some control. If I exercise, eat right, and take care of my skin then I may not look in the mirror when I am sixty and see an extremely wrinkled face and sagging skin. Likewise, if you know that you are dying and cannot do nothing about it, remember the more you take care of your mind and body the longer you will live.

Some of us worry about tomorrow and how we will manage to survive the next day. If you worry about tomorrow, you are missing what today can bring. No one has control of tomorrow and to worry about something that is out of our hands is wasting time and energy. If you have problems with worry, you might want to remember that today is another day and thank the Lord that you are breathing.

Worry is a form of selfishness, since you are anticipating a problem that may or may not occur. Some of us fear that we will go insane if our problems continue to escalate. This fear is not justifiable because you cannot predict your mind. Your mind may feel at wits ends, but you have control to handle your emotions if you reach inside your self and face your fears. Now we can review triggers by seeing that unjust and justifiable triggers are linked to emotions, which causes anger.

We might find that we are responsible for our emotions and failed to take charge of them, allowing them to rule our lives. We might even find a source in the past that invoked our emotions and promoted an undeveloped mind. When you find your triggers and review your problems, you are taking charge of your anger and your life will prove fruitful for your efforts. Triggers are objects, words, pictures, sound, taste, smell and when a person is triggered to anger, they often react either positively or negatively to the source. <bio>Burt Cotton http://www.anger-management-help.org </bio>

Child anxiety seems so out of the ordinary; after all, what could a child have to worry about?

They do not pay the bills, have to worry about peer pressure, or even deal with the stresses of employment. Despite all of these things which children do not need to worry about, children are still very subjective to the effects of anxiety.

Kids worry about their schools, their health, the health of their families, world events, their families and a host of other things that seem like the things that would be quite far from their mind.

Many of these topics may seem very 'adult' but that is exactly how child anxiety works. They worry about things which should not worry them at their age -- leading to the development of phobias, panic disorders, and even OCD or obsessive compulsive disorder.

Many consider these symptoms to be very rare and never occurring in their own worrisome youngster. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. In reality, these symptoms can usually go unnoticed, if you are not even considering child anxiety to be the problem.

Some of the most common symptoms of child anxiety include restlessness, fatigue, irritability, insomnia and difficulty in concentration. In most cases involving child anxiety, the children do not understand their condition and so it makes it harder to pinpoint the exact problem.

If these symptoms seem to match the behavior of your child then seek the help of a psychotherapist or pediatrician. Of course, use medicines and other drugs as a last resort and only for severe conditions.

Many cases of mild anxiety can be cured by relaxation time, such as a back rub before bedtime, positive self-talk, such as I am sure you know the 'You Can Do It' lectures, and even praising them for daily tasks, for example, when they help you with unloading the dishwasher or getting a good grade on a test or quiz.

During this time of treatment for child anxiety, it is also very important that you not hide your child's condition from them. In some cases, just knowing what the problem is can be a way to help your child to relax and things could begin to improve.

Another form of anxiety is known as selective mutism anxiety. This is when a child refuses or is unable to speak in a specific situation where speaking is expected of him or her. Some times, the child will be able to speak in slightly different situations but do not assume the worst of your children. This could be something which they cannot control with professional intervention.

If this seems like your child, then you should probably seek professional guidance. Remember, it is never safe to do a self-diagnosis. You could be right, but let's leave the final analysis to the experts.

In the meantime, try some other therapeutic techniques like positive reinforcement, role playing, teacher involvement and relaxation training.

Child anxiety can be very scary but you and your little one can tackle it, step by step. <bio>For more important information on depression be sure to visit http://www.0-depression.com where you will find advice and tips on preventing and treating depression as well as other articles on keeping you living the fullest life you can. </bio>

It is not easy to deal with depression and anxiety in the business world. Getting help from a professional should be the first thing you do if you deal with depression. Many companies nowadays have different programs for their employees. Talk to your Human Resources Representative on a confidential basis and ask if your employer has any such programs.

If your place of work doesn't have any programs then ask your doctor or local mental health clinic. Help is available if you look hard enough.

With the help of a professional, evaluate the source of your depression. Knowing what is causing your depression can go a long way. Once you know why you are feeling depressed, then it is easier to find the ways to overcome it.

A good way to manage your depression is to learn how to deal with your negative thinking. If you get thoughts that make your fearful or anxious, challenge those thoughts with positive statements. Try to minimize the fear behind the thought by thinking of something positive or constructive.

When we worry or get depressed, we tend to worry on exaggerated assumptions. Sometimes our exaggerated ideas can make us worry even more. Remember to get all of the facts of your current circumstances. Getting the facts can make us aware of what is reality and what is not. Before you worry about something, get the necessary information on your situation. Don't assume anything.

Take things one at a time. Do not look too far ahead. Next week or next month will take care of itself.

Your not alone in dealing with depression and anxiety. If you have such a problem, you can take steps to solve your current problem. They key is to get help from a counselor and to be persistent in finding the ways that will get rid of your anxiety and depression. Remember that there is hope. Eventually you or the person who is struggling will eventually get better. <bio>Stan Popovich is the author of "A Layman's Guide to Managing Fear" an easy to read book that presents a overview of techniques that are effective in managing persistent fears and anxieties.
It is often said that fear of loss is greater than the desire for gain. This applies to many things in life. According to a recent study, research indicates that chronic anxiety and worrying could lead to dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The connection being that always worrying about the small stuff can make you lose your mind in the long run.

There are times when it's hard not to worry about things in your life. There are times when life throws a curve ball at you. At those times it is ok to worry...a little. After a short while you need to get back in the saddle and end the worrying.

Some tips to stop worrying and anxiety:

Realize things aren't always as bad as you think they are. Most of the times we think the worst of things but after all is said and done it's not as bad as we thought it would be.

Some common situations that cause worry and anxiety:

If you lose your job, you can always find another one. People are usually willing to help you - whether it be offering support and encouragement so you don't lose hope, or recommending you to a job they know of or best case - giving you a job.

If you get divorced, there's millions of other people out there to choose from. So if you're worried about being alone for the rest of your life you can forget it. There is someone out there who is a perfect fit for you. You may have to go through a few bad ones to finally get to that good one but when you do, it'll be much sweeter after having gone through the bad ones.

If you don't have any money, join the club. There are millions of people who struggle from paycheck to paycheck. But, there are people that do something about it and some that just worry and complain about it. Instead of watching American Idol or Lost or any of your other favorite TV shows each night you could be starting a home business online. With the numerous ways out there to make money you should have no room to complain that you have no money. Take action and start looking for legal ways to do it.

I don't apologize for being so blunt and seemingly harsh about some very serious subjects that many people go through. I can say it because I've been through all of the above things. I'm still here. I've survived. And you can too.

Worrying and being anxious over life's troubles is not the answer though. Get help before it costs you your mind - that would be the ultimate loss. <bio>Chris Campos has overcome being a chronic worrywart. It has been found that on the whole, women have a higher incidence of GAD than men.

The symptoms vary from one person to another, however there are several symptoms that are common to most people who suffer from GAD.

Chronic worrying

Worry is a natural feeling that everyone deals with occasionally, but people who suffer from GAD worry incessantly, often without a specific event or situation to trigger it. This worry can ultimately cause them to withdraw from social situations and make it difficult to perform their day-to-day activities.

People suffering from GAD often realize they are worrying unnecessarily, but they are unable to overcome it and move on.

Physical Symptoms

Physical symptoms of GAD can include things such as headaches, lightheadedness, nausea and stomach pain, elevated heartbeat, shortness of breath and a lack of concentration.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder can also lead to sleeping problems such as insomnia as well as depression.

Emotional Symptoms

People suffering from GAD often exhibit symptoms such as irritability, unexpected mood swings and constant feelings of tension and stress.

A person who is dealing with GAD can have unexpected panic attacks. Because they often worry about when the next one will come, it merely serves to contribute to their feelings of anxiety. This creates a vicious cycle which can be extremely difficult to overcome.

Because the problem can feed on itself, and continue to get more serious, medical attention should be sought as soon as possible. The sooner the problem can be diagnosed and treated, the less severe the side-effects may be, and conversely the longer it goes untreated, the worse it can become - ultimately leading to very serious problems and side effects. <bio>Shane Baxter offers advice about anxiety and stress on the Anxiety Action website.
Many disorders excist for anxiety. They range from post-traumatic stress disorder to extreme reactions to phobias. One of the most commonly experienced forms of the problem is the Generalized Anxiety Disorder. We can see the variations and therefore identify which one is present in a person.

1. Anxiety Disorder

Basically, the key symptom is excessive anxiety and worry. As noted, some level of anxiety and worry is entirely natural. It is our way of warning ourselves of risks and possible problems. Not having an ability to experience anxiety would surely be far more destructive than experiencing normal anxiety levels. Elevated anxiety disorders, Of course, can be debilitating. When ones worries become out of whack with reality and are disproportionate or excessive, a problem is present.

2. Diagnostic Criteria

Lets take a closer look at the DSM diagnostic criteria for a Generalized Anxiety Disorder. As noted, it first requires excessive anxiety and worry. It also requires that these worries most occur more days than not for a period of at least six months, about a number of events or activities In other words, one must be disproportionately worried on a regular basis about a variety of things in order to receive the diagnosis.

3. Three Of Six Symptoms

- restlessness or feeling keyed up or on edge - being easily fatigued - difficulty concentrating or mind going blank - irritability - muscle tension - sleep disturbances

4. Uncontrollability

Thus, being worried a lot does not in and of itself constitute a disorder. There must also be some level of uncontrollability and some other manifestation of the problem. An anxiety disorder, according to the diagnostic volume, cannot be the outgrowth of concerns related to a similar disorder. For instance, having a fear of a panic attack (that is a feature of panic disorder) when one experiences panic attacks would not qualify.

5. The Heart Of The Matter

If the anxiety becomes distressful enough to impair social or occupational situations and prevent functioning in society, this can be of major concern. This is really the heart of the matter. When the worry and anxiety reach a level that interferes with normal functioning, an anxiety disorder is present. This breakdown applies specifically to a Generalized Anxiety Disorder diagnoses, but it is enlightening with respect to other anxiety disorders. Primary features are still the exact same with excessive worry, experiencing this frequently and uncontrollably. <bio>For more great anxiety related articles and resources check out http://counselingplace.info </bio>

Recently, Utah's epidemiologist, Dr. Robert Rolfs, injected his entire state with a heavy dose of complacency and told them not to worry about bird flu.

He said, "Avian influenza means bird influenza. It's a problem for birds right now in other parts of the world, and it is a problem for birds there." He was persuading KSL-TV reporter Shelley Osterloh that there was nothing to worry about in Utah. In fact, he told her "Utah has other health threats we should be concerned about." You can read Rolfs comments at http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148andsid=185817

Rolfs in effect sedated the entire Utah population.

Nevermind that former Utah governor, Mike Leavitt, and now Human Health Secretary, recently came to Utah and said it's time to get prepared for what could be the most devastating pandemic in our history.

Never mind that Dr. Robert Webster -- the scientist who discovered H5N1 -- has called avian influenza the "most frightening virus" he has ever seen.

Never mind that the CDC, the WHO, and scientists worldwide are trying desperately to find a solution to save whole nations.

One can almost visualize Osterloh addressing a gathered crowd of Roman citizens in 165 B.C. when the Antonine Plague was about to begin killing 5,000 Romans a day. "Do not fear, my fellow Romans. Harken unto me...these rumors of a plague are but whispers in the wind. Go about your business. I have spoken with Rome's greatest physician and he says Rome will never fall to plague."

Rolfs wants Utah residents to forget about bird flu and worry about something else, like pertussis. Reporter Osterloh abandons her objectivity and sidles up to Rolfs and proudly agrees that "The bird flu isn't in the USA." The inference is that Utah residents shouldn't worry. Not one bit. How could it possibly get over the mighty Wasatch mountains and hurt us? Well, Ms. Osterloh, I guess we should wait until it takes wing on the thousands of Utah seagulls and one of them drops a gift on your shoulder before Utah residents should take action.

This false sense of well-being spouted by Rolfs may soon invade other states, other epidemiologists. Be wary of this state-sponsored vaccine of serenity. It's a vaccine your local government wants you to take so you won't worry so much. But it could kill you. <bio>Mr. Hart is the author of "Killer Bird Flu...Get Ready Now," and a U.S. retailer of NanoMasks, the only mask treated with a viricide that kills pathogens on contact.
I am always amused what people are worried about nowadays.

How they look in a mirror, their clothes, their "style", what type of car they drive, how they have the right bracelet, to match the right earrings, to go with the stylish ankle bracelet, down to the matching toe ring.

I'm serious here.......

Or better yet, they're worried about how many video games they are going to play today, how many movies they are going to rent, and how many bags of candy they can polish off in one sitting.

Too bad there is not enough focus on the many teen fitness concerns out there.

Ok, maybe I'm focusing a little too much on you "kids" here (lol).......

Unless, you parents are doing this too (lol).

Don't worry kids.....many parents need to go to a adult fitness camp too.........

Worried to beat traffic, worry to get to work early, worry to finish everything at work so fast so you can get home quickly to drive your kids to softball, baseball, music, dance practices, then run home, shove down a greasy hamburger, fries, and your favorite carbonated beverage, then watch some TV, get heartburn, and go to bed.

Sounds like a great life, huh?

Sign me up!........just kidding, of course.

Unfortunately, what I have just written (or very close to it) is all too knowing for many people/families in this world.

It's sad really.

It's sad (to me at least) to see that people put SO MUCH IMPORTANCE on stuff like this and almost zero importance on their health and well-being.

I'm about to give you a big secret......

A secret that almost nobody (again, unfortunately) follows......

You ready???

Are you sure??? (lol), OK.......

*****Don't wait until it's too late to "worry" about your health.*****

Profound, isn't it?

But so true.

So many people nowadays with all the hustle and bustle that goes along with everyday life: work, family, kids, stress, after-school activities, laundry, home repairs, mowing your yard, weeding flowerbeds, washing floors, doing dishes.......how do you have time for your health?????

Answer: You make time for it.

So many things we do are of little importance, but yet we "worry" about them so much. Then, when one of our loved ones falls ill, or develops a disease, virus, etc., we all ask "what went wrong?" Invariably, it is everything that I have talked about in this article (at least to an extent).

So, what can YOU do?

Well, for starters, why don't you "worry" (not being paranoid, mind you......more like being aware of the situation) about your health and fitness.

Instead of worrying if your new shirt matches all 35 pairs of your pants.......why don't you "worry" how you can make tonight's dinner 50% healthier for you and your family.

Or "worry" how you can eat a more nutritious breakfast every morning (preferably not donuts and Pop-Tarts, washed down with a nice, tall sugar-laced beverage).

You see, making small changes like the ones I am suggesting do SO MUCH for your overall health and fitness, it's not even funny.

I hate to start throwing out clichés, but as they say......

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"

Unfortunately, for some of you it should be "An ounce of prevention is worth 20 pounds of cure".

Or maybe 40 pounds.

Heck, it might be 100 pounds.

The amount really doesn't matter.

What does matter is that you better get off your tail and hold yourself accountable for your health.

YOU can make better decisions.

YOU can make time for fitness (also, let's get off our butts, and help put a stop to all these teen fitness concerns).

YOU can lead your family by example.

Don't wait until you have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, clogged arteries.....etc.

Why put yourself through all that pain and expense (time and money)???

Why don't you look ahead (and I'm not talking about to tonight's dinner), and gauge where you want to be at in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years.

Hint: your goal should be to be in the best shape you can possibly be in, at all times.

Let me be the first (or next) to tell you that you can do it.......I believe in you!

Everyone can make a positive change, but ultimately, it is up to YOU to get started.......

So, get started NOW........and like I always say........I am here to help. Please write me at chris@fitnesswithchris.com and visit my website www.fitnesswithchris.com and let me show you how to "worry" about your fitness. Talk to you soon.

Chris C. <bio>Chris Callegari, founder of http://www.fitnesswithchris.com is unleashing his real-world exercise, fitness, nutrition, and healthy eating tips to the world, to help support lifestyle changes for any and everyone. </bio>

Want your girl to do more during her summer vacation than sit at home and become addicted to soap operas? You might think about planning a week or two at a girls camp. While she could learn important life lessons and have a great time at any summer camp, girls-only camps are great options for girls because the counselors at girls' camps also strive to address issues specific to girls. If your daughter is the high adventure type, she does not have to worry about missing out on anything by attending a girls' camp. There are girls-only camps for almost any activity or interest your daughter might want to pursue.

Some girls will tell you the best feature of a girls' camp is that there are only girls there, no boys. In an environment with no boys, girls feel more free to participate in any activity they choose, such as swimming, without feeling uncomfortable around the boys. They don't have to worry about boys laughing at them if they attempt an activity and don't do as well as a boy might.

In this atmosphere, girls can participate in sports such as running, basketball, archery and range shooting without having to worry about competing with the boys. Counselors at these girls-only camps can also address self-esteem issues specific to girls such as weight, dieting and attractiveness. Some parents also prefer a girls-only camp because they don't have to worry that any hanky panky will be going on during their child's week at camp.

Probably one of the most well known girls-only camps is Girl Scout Camp. These camps can be found in locations all across the United States. Unlike privately owned or family owned camps, girls who wish to attend Girl Scout camp must be an active member of the Girl Scouts. Unlike some camps your daughter could attend, Girl Scout camps are more traditional in nature. They offer a mix of the usual camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, archery and horseback riding. A week or two at Girl Scout camp is usually reasonably priced and within most families' budgets.

Girls who want a high adventure camping trip can select from a wide variety of adventure oriented camps. In fact, nearly every sport or activity that is offered in a coed camp can also be found in a girls-only camp. These camps let girls explore and enjoy adventures without having to worry about keeping up with the boys. Other camps just for girls offer activities like acting, modeling, ballet, gymnastics and music. Some of these camps carry a hefty price tag, however, so you might want to suggest to your daughter she start saving her allowance to help out with fees.

A girls' camp offers advantages that both girls and their parents like. While girls can relax and have fun in a boy-free environment, parents don't have to worry about inappropriate relations between boys and girls as they do if their daughter goes to a coed camp. Girls-only camps also offer nearly any activity your daughter might like to try so it's easy to find one that is right for her. <bio>Still looking for the perfect summer camp? What do you think when you hear that word? So many people who are looking for blushing help kind of hesitate whenever they hear or read anything about hypnotherapy. They just aren't sure whether or not this will work for them. "Oh, sure" they think. "Hypnotherapy has helped other people stop blushing all the time, but how do I know that it would help me in the same way?"

One Blush Too Many

What you should do is find out a bit more about hypnotherapy and how it works before making a final decision as to whether or not it would be useful to you for blushing help. Anyone who is troubled by problem blushing would do well to consider hypnotherapy, because it is helping many people with many different problems and conditions besides blushing. If you believe you have blushed on blush too many, there is hope for you. At some point in your life, perhaps even in your childhood, something happened to you. Something that caused your face to flush for the first time.

Saved for the Future

Your subconscious mind carefully saved that memory of your first blush, and every other memory of times when you were embarrassed, ashamed, angry, or went through a painful scene where you blushed. Some people call these repressed memories. These memories helped to teach you to fear blushing. Out of the blue, as you were getting ready to go to a party or some other occasion where a group of people would be gathered, such as school or work, a thought occurred to you. The thought that you sincerely hoped you wouldn't blush during the time you would be away from.

Memories, Memories

Thinking these thoughts brought forward the thoughts saved in your subconscious mind, although of course you did not realize that they were tucked away like that. You remembered other times where you had been embarrassed and felt humiliated, angry, or ashamed, and all of a sudden, you started to think about today's outing. You start hoping that you won't blush in front of all those people and embarrass yourself yet again. And, the stage is set. The blushing help that comes from hypnotherapy can keep you from having a repeat performance.

A Confused Subconscious?

What you don't realize is that your subconscious mind thinks that you WANT to blush whenever you feel embarrassed, or angry, or whatever. By thinking about not blushing, you cued the subconscious to get ready. And, the more you think about not blushing, the worse your blushing will probably be. This is why some sufferers always say "The last time I blushed was the worst time ever!" You can think about many instances of blushing when you start to thumb through your memories. They are like fuel for the fire that's to come. Hypnotherapy can change what is in your subconscious mind, replacing those unhappy memories with more productive ones.

How Being Worried About Blushing In Advance Makes It Worse

What everyone who blushes does, invariably, is worry that they are going to blush, they may worry about blushing the day before they have to do presentation in a business setting, or they may worry about blushing as they sit around the dinner table and people begin to take turns telling jokes. It is this worry, this anticipation that is a major cause of blushing. The main difference between someone who blushes a lot and someone who doesn't is that the former frets about blushing ahead of time, and the latter doesn't. So how do you learn not to worry about it?

What Can Hypnotherapy Do For You?

Hypnotherapy will allow you to stop worrying about your blushing. No one can promise that you will never blush again, but after a few sessions of hypnotherapy, if by chance you do blush, it will not bother you as it did before. You can brush it away from your conscious and go on with what you were doing. A faint flush is more than likely all you would ever have to worry about after you have received blushing help.<bio>Mark C Roberts writes for http://www.selfhelprecordings.com/, a site dedicated to providing excellent self hypnosis recordings, an excellent self hypnosis recording that can help you with blushing is available from this online store, for more information, please follow this link: Blushing Help</bio>

Hosting a party outside of your home can be challenging, but it can be incredibly rewarding at the same time. A couple of advantages are not having to worry about damaging your home and being able to get help with the clean up.

Bars and restaurants are the most popular venues for parties outside of private homes. Parties at restaurants and bars are generally more expensive, but they offer a lot of amenities such as dance floors.

You still need to do the party planning, but a lot of the unpopular work such as cooking and preparing the food, decorating the venue, cleaning up after the party, serving the guests will be done by others. In other words, you can leave the logistics of your party to the pros. Let the restaurant worry about the details. You won't have to worry about bringing your own equipment or decoration; the restaurant will be able to provide it for you. Because they will do most of the work for you all you and your guests will have to do is show up.

All the preparation work done for your event by the venue is great but it comes with a price tag. Be prepared to spend significantly more for a party away from your home than a party at home. You'll also have to find an appropriate venue for your event that is available for your party date. Saturdays are the most popular party days, so finding an available venue for that day will be more challenging than other days.

You need to make sure the venue can accommodate the number of guests you plan to invite. Keep track of RSVPs to avoid last minute surprises about the guest list.

You may find it more difficult to relax at a restaurant than in your own house, so a party away from your home may not be the best option for you. It depends on what you prefer.

Appropriate occasions for parties away from the home are retirement parties, engagements, holiday parties, association meetings, etc. Finding a restaurant or bar that will be a good fit for your event and that can accommodate your guests can be challenging. Ask for recommendations by friends and family. <bio>George Meszaros with http://www.partyfantastic.com </bio>

Time goes so fast that some people are caught unaware that life has caught up with them. These people have been very busy taking care of their families that they have forgotten how to prepare for their future especially when they become too old to work.

Every person should prepare for that time when they can just relax and enjoy the fruits of their labor. People who have spent their fruitful years working and supporting their families should be given a chance to lay back, do what they have long wanted to do and live life to the fullest without worrying about financial support.

Not everyone is given the opportunity to enjoy retirement without any worry about their finances. People who want to enjoy their retirement without all the worries should prepare for their retirement now, when they are still able to produce and to work hard.

The best time to prepare for retirement is when a person is still young enough to financially plan for that period in his life when he does not have to worry about work or earning more money. Every person should gift himself with a proper retirement package so that when that time comes, he will be able to go to places he wanted to visit before but did not have the time or resources. Or perhaps, do things that he was not able to do before because he was too busy fending for his family.

Planning for your own retirement should be treated the same way when planning to invest in a house or a car. Every person should set aside even a meager amount from his monthly earnings, to be saved and used for his retirement.

A retirement plan will mean you no longer have to worry whether you have a family to take care of you when you grow old. It means not having to get scared that your children may be so busy living their own lives they will place you in a home for the aged. Preparing for retirement means being secured in the knowledge that something is waiting for you, when you can no longer earn money the way you used to do.

Some people consider retirement as the best years of their life because during this time, they no longer have to worry about working hard and feeding their children. When retirement comes, it's just you and your spouse and sometimes, the children who manage to take a break and visit you. For most people, retirement means being free form the hustle and bustle of the daily rat race called life.

Start planning for your retirement and look forward to a life worth living after you are out of the daily grind. <bio>The author is a regular contributor to http://www.thehappyretiree.com where more information about retirement and retirement planning http://www.thehappyretiree.com/sitemap.html is available. </bio>
