One of the things that seems to put people off using the WordPress software on their own site (as opposed to the hosted WordPress blog site) is the technical side of the process involving WordPress templates and themes. There's a lot of talk about code, PHP, CSS and plenty of other confusing abbreviations that don't mean a lot to many people! This is unfortunate, as a WordPress blog can make such a big impact on web pages, and can even be used as a standalone website once you get your domain name and hosting sorted out.

Understanding the way WordPress works, installing the software, and figuring out how the templates fit in to themes does require a bit of techie know-how.

It is not as hard as it first appears though, and thankfully, for those of us who are a bit technically challenged, there are some excellent guides and resources that can help make the process a whole lot smoother.

The WordPress templates are the backbone of the themes used to build the WordPress blog pages. Themes come in all manner of styles and designs, and can be customized by altering the layouts, installing WordPress plugins and by adding or changing the templates. WordPress templates are basically just a bunch of files that together make up the themes for your WordPress blog site. Generally, a default set of templates for WordPress themes would include some of these essential files:

and#61607;index.php =96 this is the main template file for your WordPress blog and#61607;header.php =96 the header template and#61607;footer.php =96 the footer template and#61607;page.php =96 for creating WordPress pages and#61607;single.php =96 for creating WordPress posts and#61607;sidebar.php =96 the WordPress blog page navigation and#61607;style.css =96 the stylesheet that makes up the layout for your WordPress blog.

These are just the basics; there are many more WordPress templates that can be added to customize your blog; for example, links, search forms, archive posts and WordPress blog comments.

Another confusing aspect for some people is the mention of template tags. Again, these are not as difficult to understand as they first seem. They are basically just bits of code to help the WordPress templates to perform their job properly. The tags within the templates contain the instructions to make your WordPress blog a cleverly designed set of pages!

One of the great things about WordPress templates is that you can customize them to design individual blog pages as well as post pages. The pre-defined templates will usually apply to all the pages on your WordPress blog, but you can add, remove or change the other template files to create unique items on each page.

If you consider the WordPress templates as the mechanics of the themes, you can hopefully begin to understand how they work together to create a WordPress blog. <bio>Mike Paetzold is the creator of WordPress Made Easy a multi-media course to allow you to install and customize a WordPress blog on your domain.
Expert WordPress is a new blogging system that allows bloggers to save time and get more done after they create a blog. Not only that, but the system is actually a full on blogging suite with your own WordPress theme, plugins, video tutorials and instructions, all packed into one. Expert WordPress was created for the WordPress community to counteract the limitations and problems they usually face when they want to create a blog.

The Expert WordPress system takes you by the hand and explains in detail what you need to do and when. Setting up a blog couldn't be easier and more straightforward than this. Since WordPress is the number one choice blogging software on the market, most bloggers will eventually migrate to it, even if they first create a blog with one of the dozen of the free blogging tools available on the market.

You can choose Blogger, TypePad, LiveJournal and even the free option of http://WordPress.com for your blog, but none of them will give you the benefits and choices of the WordPress software that runs on a self hosted domain.

Self hosted WordPress blogs are by far the best blogs for search engine optimization, great placement and the ability to monetize them in many possible ways. Smart Internet marketers have recognized this fact a long time ago and wouldn't ever go back to whatever they used prior to hosting their own WordPress blog.

Some features that really make the WordPress software stand apart from the others is the versatility of it. There are just so many options in which we can build WordPress blogs and with a bit of coding knowledge in HTML and PHP, anybody can actually design their own WordPress theme.

There are plugins, widgets and many other pieces of coding than can be integrated into WordPress. Best of all, nothing is set in stone. If you ever wanted to change the look of your WordPress blog you can do so easy with a few changes in the stylesheet.

To make the process of starting out to create a blog, by moving to your own self hosted WordPress blog a lot easier, Expert WordPress has been designed for you.

It is the system if you are sick of trying to lean code or spend hours finding the right plugins. The creators of the software have actually built in the required plugins to help you with your search engine rankings. All you need to do is activate them with a few clicks. This will not only save you a lot of time, but you won't have to worry whether the plugins you use are the right ones.

Another benefit of using Expert WordPress opposed to doing it yourself is the fact that is comes with its own support forum. Should you ever get stuck you won't need to purchase expensive eBooks or even search for answers online. You'll have your very own help support community right at hand.

It's up to you whether you want to create a blog the traditional way, or use Expert WordPress and fast track your blogging experience to something more pleasant. Either way, WordPress is the software to choose for sure.<bio>Alex Sysoef is the Co-Creator of Expert WordPress.
If you are one of the thousands of people who have always considered to create a blog but didn't because you found it too difficult, fear no more. A brand new software has been released that does the job for you in simple, straightforward steps. You don't need to be technically knowledgeable to create a blog with this tool either. As a matter of fact, you could be on the Internet for the first day and still manage to do this.

The tool that will revolutionize the way blogs are built is called Expert WordPress. Expert WordPress is not only a blog install tool to create a blog, but a total intricate system to guide you through the process. Expert WordPress features step by step tutorials on video, documents and other helpful tools to provide you not only with a blog, but one that is highly optimized for the search engines so people can actually find you online.

In fact, Expert WordPress is so easy to use to create a blog that you probably wonder why you didn't discover it before. Fact is, Expert WordPress was only launched at the end of July. Right now, Expert WordPress is the hottest tool available to create a blog from scratch. Not only that, you will also be miles ahead of the competition, because you won't need to search for plugins that help you rank well and neither will you need to tamper with code.

So let's see what differs Expert WordPress from other tools that help you to create a blog. Firstly, it is the only tool that has inbuilt plugins, video support, forums and all the other extras the system provides. While there is nothing wrong with other products who provide similar support, Expert WordPress just goes one mile further. No, make that two miles.

It is a great system for time challenged people on the move. Instead of spending weeks or even months to learn all that geek stuff, you have it all there, ready to utilize. If e are totally honest with ourselves, most people don't have the time to learn intricate details by spending weeks knuckling down traversing the Internet all day and all night long just to learn how everything works.

People want fast results, they want it now, ready to use and with all the trimmings. Expert WordPress is just like that.

Expert WordPress is an all in one solution for new bloggers, business people and those of you who never had the time, nor the will to learn coding and complicated geeky stuff.

It is a known fact that WordPress is the best blogging platform available today by far. WordPress blogs are much easier to rank on Google than traditional websites or other blogging software and this has been proven time and time again by the WordPress community.

Whether you prefer blogging on a free host, create a WordPress site by learning how to do this or use the easiest version of them all is entirely up to you. Expert WordPress isn't for everybody. It needs a dedicated professional or individual who wants to rank well on the search engines to appreciate Expert WordPress.<bio>Alex Sysoef is the Co-Founder and Creator of the popular Expert WordPress blogging system. His product helps thousands of people to save time and build powerful blogs that dominate the search engines.</bio>

The function of WordPress has opened up endless possibilities recently, taking it to a new level no longer limited to a blog site. With a huge range of WordPress plugins already available, and many more being added constantly, website owners can put up custom designed pages in a few minutes with a little help.

WordPress plugins are scripts developed by various programmers to give users more options for their blog pages. For example, a WordPress plugin can be used to display recent comments, or as a spam prevention tool. WordPress templates are proving to be extremely popular for externally hosted websites, so having the ability to add more features makes the WordPress plugins a very handy source of free programming!

While many people set up WordPress blog pages to share personal and social stories, blogging has become an essential part of the marketing and promotion sector. With a separately hosted website, WordPress users can include advertising links or Adsense, and promote affiliate products. WordPress plugins provide excellent tools for customizing these types of sites, with add-ons in a wide range of categories including:

and#61607;Adsense management and#61607;Advertisement rotators and#61607;Search engine optimization and#61607;User restrictions and password options and#61607;Visitor and click statistics and#61607;Search boxes and#61607;Tracking tools and#61607;Social bookmark tags (e.g. Technorati, Del.icio.us, Digg)

Since there are a large variety of WordPress plugins to suit all sorts of users, the level of expertise required to install some of these varies. You'll need an understanding of FTP, and Zip files, and some knowledge of HTML. More advanced website owners can even develop their own plugins. A degree of PHP programming is required, and some WordPress plugins also use Javascript or CHMOD to function properly.

A note about WordPress.com and WordPress.org

Although these two sites sound the same, the services offered by each one are different and this often causes confusion for people. The difference lies mainly in the hosting side of things. While a free WordPress blog will be hosted on WordPress.com, the themes and templates are limited and users are not allowed to include advertising or affiliate links. WordPress.org on the other hand requires you to have your own domain and hosting in place, but is a much better option for advertising and marketing purposes, and this is where the WordPress plugins come into the equation!

Self-hosting website owners can make light work of designing their sites with WordPress plugins, creating unique personalized pages to attract their visitors! <bio>Mike Paetzold is the creator of WordPress Made Easy a multi-media course to allow you to install and customize a WordPress blog on your domain.
<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/podcasting" rel="tag">Podcasting is the next step up from blogging. While blogging is done by armies of pajama-clad ordinary people, podcasting is done by many of these same people, though less often in pajamas, in front of a digital or audio recorder. Short pieces are recorded, then distributed via RSS 2.0 or Atom to their website, typically a blog site. Listeners and viewers can then download podcasts using podcast clients. A good podcast client (for example, Juice, CastPodder, or iTunes) will allow you to subscribe to the RSS/Atom feed of your favorite podcasters and automatically download the content to a computer or to a portable audio player when new items are available.

Most podcasters create their content in MP3 or MP4 audio or video files and upload them, linking to the file in a blog post. Users can then click the link to download the content if they're not automatically subscribed to the RSS/Atom feed. The problem has never been in getting the content to the web page, but in getting the content to work through the feed systems. Wordpress, in most cases, will automatically include new podcasting data in your RSS/Atom feed system. This makes it easy for you to deliver content and for your users to subscribe to that content.

For most people, WordPress 1.5 and above will podcast easily and automatically. When you link to the audio file in a WordPress post using the full URL address, it automatically adds it to the RSS/Atom feed and makes it usable as a podcast. Make sure you use a full address:

Wrong: My podcast Right: My podcast

Your last step is to put a link to your RSS/Atom feed on your page. By default, the feeds are located at the bottom of your WordPress page. The link should look something like this if you're using RSS:

http://example.com/wordpress/?feed=rss2

If you're using Atom, the link will look like this:

http://example.com/wordpress/?feed=atom

In earlier versions of WordPress, automated links work for posts only, not for static pages. Because WordPress needs to maintain accurate file size information, if you change a linked file you should be certain to republish the post containing the link. If you've linked to a file that for any reason is not fully accessible from your blog, your podcast won't work properly when it is up because WordPress won't have the correct file size information.

For Apache servers and others that use the .htaccess file, you'll need to add a directive to the config file or .htaccess file to get the server to recognize podcast files (m4a and m4b) properly. You can simply add this line to the file you use:

AddType audio/x-m4a .m4aandgt; <bio>http://www.theinternetone.net </bio>

There's little doubt that blogs are the shining stars in the search engine optimization firmament. And some of the best SEO blogging software comes in the form of WordPress plugins and themes designed to let you maximize your SEO rankings. I have a few favorites.

If you want a comprehensive package of SEO blogging software, you can't do better than the All in One SEO WordPress Plugin.

This particular piece of SEO blogging software is a true joy, because I can use it to insert titles, keywords, and descriptions to every single WordPress post or page of my website. With that capability, I can really improve my chances of getting noticed by the big search engines.

You will like the All in One SEO Package's Rewrite Titles feature, because it will show the SEO optimized titles of you posts ahead of the title of you blog in your title tags, so if your post titles are keyword heavy, those keywords will be noticed by Google and friends.

As SEO blogging software goes, I find the All in One pack to be very user friendly. The plugin will create a new options page on your site, where you enter your meta keywords, your site's title and description.

You can then customize keywords and descriptions for your individual posts, and choose those articles which you choose to have listed ahead of your site's name in the page title, as mentioned above.

Speaking of Google, another of the SEO blogging software must-haves from WordPress is Google Sitemaps. Use this to instantly enhance your WordPress blog with a sitemap and the plugin will take it from there. It will keep Google informed of any updates to your blog and you can even adapt it to work with Yahoo's search engine as well.

Another of my recommendations for SEO blogging software is the WordPress SEO themes. The WordPress SEO themes are available in customizable basic formats with either two or three columns.

They include preconstructed headers and sidebars, and the WordPress team has put together a free web tutorial to assist you in using them to maximize your SEO rankings. You won't have any trouble making these SEO themes look as if they were designed to your site specifications.

SEO blogging software is also available for other blogging platforms, but if you are using WordPress, as I do, you would be better off sticking with the plugins and themes engineered to work with the WordPress coding. There are plenty of them to keep you occupied, so why risk installing something that might do more harm than good? <bio>Author: Matt Garrett =A9 2007 http://www.BlogTactics.com | Blog Tutorials and Videos Grab Your Free Step By Step Guide to Setting Up Your First Blog Now!! http://www.blogtactics.com/newsletter.html </bio>

The difficulty is not in finding free blog scripts. The difficulty is sorting through all of the free blog scripts and deciding which one is best for you. So I think the best way for to narrow down the choices of free blog scripts is to look at the various features of two good ones and take it from there.

My personal choice of the free blog scripts is WordPress. WordPress is based on open source technology, which means it is constantly being improved by bloggeeks from all around the globe, and that there are not license fees involved in its use. With so many people adding input to make WordPress the best blogging script on the face of the planet, it has literally hundreds of plug-in features.

WordPress plug-ins are simply files that you can download which will do nothing to alter your existing WordPress files, but will perform new functions to add new options to your WordPress experience.

I also recommend WordPress because it offers dozens of themes, which means that you can change the appearance or your blogs as often as you like to keep them fresh-looking. If you really know what you are doing, in fact, the WordPress Custom CSS feature will let you alter the language (CSS) that defines its appearance.

You can do this from the Presentation tab of your dashboard, and without taking your blog offline. But you'll have to pay for the Custom CSS tool to save the changes and publish them to your blog. WordPress is loaded with other paid and free tools to make it the most versatile of all the free blog scripts.

A relative newcomer to the free blog scripts is b2evolution, which you can install on one of your existing websites. Or you can use one of the web hosting services listed on the b2evolution site to select a domain name and create a website where you can automatically install the b2evolustin free blog script.

Using b2evolution on your pre-existing website couldn't be easier. All you do is add your content to a form on the b2evlution site, hit the Post button, and you're done. Like WordPress, it also offers customizable themes and skins to improve you blog's appearance. B2evolution is an open source blog script like WordPress and is regularly enhanced with new plug-ins and features.

One free blog script I avoid is http://blogger.com, simply because it is a free hosted site, and any blog on a free hosted site is subject to removal. If someone even hints that your blog is being used to spam, it can be shut down without your permission, so there's always a danger that ruffling the wrong set of feathers with your blog content can cost you big time. <bio>Author: Matt Garrett =A9 2007 http://www.BlogTactics.com | Blog Tutorials and Videos Grab Your Free Step By Step Guide to Setting Up Your First Blog Now!! http://www.blogtactics.com/newsletter.html </bio>

There has been talk about using Wordpress beyond the typical blog set-up, into the realms of a full-fledged content management system or CMS. Yet, most people have no idea how this is even possible.

I have to stress that the default Wordpress software is intended to be a blogging tool, so if you're trying to make it work like a different type of content management tool you'll have to use the correct plugins (enhancements) and have the a clear idea of what you want to achieve.

While the exact step-by-step method is out of the scope of this article, lets explore some of the ways you can use Wordpress, as I have personally done before.

1) Wordpress as An Article Directory

To make Wordpress work as an article directory, you'll need a special plugin, and a source for the articles. MyArticleMarketer.com is the perfect tool for this, as the articles there are usually human-approved. They also encourage free distribution of their articles to other article sites.

After you have set-up the Wordpress plugin, you need to sign-up for Article Marketer's distribution list. By filling in their form and specifying the categories (or choose all categories), you automatically qualify to receive all old and new articles that are submitted to MyArticleMarketer.com

However, with Wordpress as an article directory, you'll only be able to receive syndicated articles. Authors won't be able to sign-up or create an account directly with you. It's also against MyArticleMarketer.com's terms or service to encourage authors to sign-up directly with you.

2) Wordpress as a Membership Site

You can set-up a free or paid membership site using Wordpress. All it takes is a few simple plugins to get the job done. Once you've installed the plugins, members will need to login to your site in order to view the content. You can also place a login form in your Wordpress theme files to make it easy for users to lo in and out of your membership site.

However, the plugins only create a simple membership system, so if you're looking to create different membership levels and more advanced features, you'd probably want to sign-up with a professional membership system like AmemberPro.net and use their available plugins to ingrate with Wordpress.

At the time of writing, AmemberPro.net has available plugins for a reasonable cost and these will be installed by their support team, so you don't have to worry about the technical setbacks.

3) Wordpress as a Classified Ads System

Wordpress can work like any other classifieds website too. Users can sign-up on your site and place classifieds in the form of new blog posts. They can even set expiry dates for their ads and specify listings or andquot;wantedandquot; ads.

However, you will need to create all the necessary categories and even create a sign-up information page to teach your users how to place ads. The upside of using Wordpress as a classifieds site is that you can also use tagging tactics to get traffic from social bookmarking sites and sites like Technorati.com

4) Wordpress as an Audio / Video Training Site

Using the membership plugins mentioned above or AmemberPro.net's Wordpress compatibility plugins, you can create a membership site with Wordpress. Then, all you need to do is to add the andquot;Podpressandquot; plugin which takes care of all audio and video elements on your website.

You will be able to display and stream MP3 audio or FLV video using their built-in players. The Podpress plugin is really robust and also allows you to specify setting on iTunes, so you can make this commercially and available to the entire iPod / iTunes community.

As you can see by now, there's a whole lot of possibilities when it comes to using Wordpress to the extreme.

I've created an entire video training system to help newbies and advanced marketers alike master Wordpress. Yet, every day brings new possibilities to using Wordpress as a complex CMS instead of the modest blogging tool it was designed to be! <bio>Gobala Krishnan is the author of the best-selling andquot;Wordpress Adsense Systemandquot; at http://www.WordpressAdsenseSystem.com and also a niche-blogging specialist.
People with Internet and web experience of all levels have worked to make sure that their websites, web service accounts and browsers were as safe as they could be from computer hackers. However, the hackers practice an old baseball saying which goes, "If you want to be a success you have to hit 'em where they ain't."

The weakness that the hackers have found is the WordPress Blog. Many may have never considered a blog to be worthy of a hacker's attention, yet with the way that advertising and marketing dollar potential have soared, that's what sets a hacker off on their hunt for a victim.

The hacker attacks on WordPress Blogs take the person who wants to come to a particular blog to a different site that's full of ads, many of them obscene and many of them virus filled, which obviously does not present what was the assumed landing point blog in the best light. In fact, one hacker attack, no matter how quickly it's spotted and dealt with, can destroy all the work that the owner of that blog has done. If it's a blog full of content with years of archive material, a hacker's attack will turn all of that work into worthless untrustworthy words.

The attacks launched on WordPress Blogs by hackers get even worse for the blog owners. Google, for example, when (not if) their robots detect something suspicious about a WordPress Blog will include the following in the search result for that WordPress Blog.

"This site may harm your computer."

If a person clicks on that phrase, which appears as a link within the search result listing, they will be taken to a page that will repeat the warning of harm to their computer and suggest that they go to another site or blog that came up in their search results.

Even if a WordPress Blog owner catches the damage quickly, the time it will take to repair that blog's reputation will be costly at a variety of levels. People will remember the warnings of computer harm no matter how strongly it's presented that all with that WordPress Blog is well. A loss of blog traffic will mean a loss of ad revenue. In many cases this could mean the loss of advertisers since many affiliate ad programs require a specific level of traffic activity.

WordPress Blog owners make the mistake of thinking that since the warning signs that their blog has been hacked are so obvious that they'll be able to catch the problem before it becomes a major disaster. They would have to be proactive rather than reactive and monitor their WordPress Blog every minute of every hour of every day. Just five minutes under a hacker's control can destroy the connection that WordPress Blog had made with the thousands of people who visit it at any point.

While WordPress does the best they can with security updates, that's still just a reactive option for the WordPress blog owner. There is a proactive step every WordPress Blog owner can take to prevent hackers from destroying the work and reputation of their WordPress Blog.

Internet developer and expert James Stein, with 15 years experience in the development of programs that assist and educate people, has created WordPress Secured. Instead of one plug-in fix after another, WordPress Secured brings total security to every WordPress Blog that anyone can learn and benefit from.

WordPress Secured teaches how to close the many open doors WordPress Blogs contain which hackers exploit. It teaches how to find a blog's softspots and strengthen them. Users discover how to protect their important avenues of ad revenue. WordPress Secure makes the blog owner not only more secure but more smart and aware about their blog.

WordPress Secure also includes a special feature called BadBot Killer. This program stops the scanning bots that seek out a WordPress Blog's weaknesses that are the welcome mats for computer hackers. BadBot Killer stops the hackers even before they can find the front door to a WordPress Blog.

The amount of knowledge and information required to do a WordPress Blog post-hacking repair is large and above the heads of many WordPress Blog owners. WordPress Secure is one easy and educational package that keeps the WordPress Blog owner steps ahead any hacker.<bio>© 2008 James Stein All Rights Reserved.
There are many ways in which you can create a blog, the easiest being to use a blog host such as Blogger or Wordpress.com. Using these, you can create your blog on any topic you want and even customize it to suit your needs to a certain extent.

I say `to a certain extent' since no blog that is operated from a blog host's website can ever be truly yours, and you consequently have limited control over the design and occasionally even the content of your blog. That is because neither the software needed to manage the blog, nor the files that hold your content, are contained on your website, but on that of somebody else. That `somebody else' is either the operator of Blogger or of Wordpress, or whatever blogging host you happen to be using.

So what does that mean to you in practise? I have no intention of going over the pros and cons of the hosted versions of Wordpress and Blogger, and have provided a link on my website that provides that information for you, but it should be clear to anybody that if you host your own blog from your own website, you have much more control and latitude in the design, formatting and content of your blog.

It is not difficult to upload Wordpress to your website and run it from there. You can then upload any number of the multitude of plugins and templates available to enable you to design your blog in any way you want. You can change the appearance and content not only of your navbar, but can use html to change practically every aspect of your blog to suit your needs. The question you will be asking is how you get Wordpress onto your own website.

It is easier than you think. Wordpress.org provides the software, and you have to upload it to your website into a directory of your choice. The easiest way is to use an ftp client, and you can get information on good free ftp software on my website or blog. You then have one or two alterations to make to some of the files and you are done. You have a blog that you can change to suit your own needs without any of the restrictions that are imposed by the Wordpress website.

You can change the template to any of the thousands on offer online, either free or paid, and you can also use software to design your own or to customize the templates to your own design. You can change the whole look and feel of your blog, and offer whatever links that you feel necessary. You can put whatever adverts on your blog that you want, including Adsense blocks, and use your blog to make you money.

Creating a blog is easy, and if you know how to create a blog exactly as you want it, then you will have a great tool at your disposal that you can use to promote any product you want, and also to make direct sales, either of products or of advertising. There are many ways in which you can use your blog either to promote products or to earn money through advertising. You have few restrictions when operating a Wordpress blog from your own website; all you have to know is how to do it.

Once you know how to create a bog on your own site, you can harness the power of blogs to achieve what want to achieve with your website. There are few limits and your imagination will be your major asset, so use it. <bio>To learn bow to create a blog on your own website and how to use your blogs to make money, check out Pete's website http://www.create-a-blog.net where you will not only be given useful tips, but also links to websites that can help you. </bio>

While Wordpress itself is a robust and complete blogging system, to really maximize the software and make money from Google Adsense you'll need to install and use a couple of Adsense andquot;pluginsandquot;.

Most of the plugins can be found by doing a search on Google, and installation is simple and straightforward. All you need to do is upload the plugin to your web host using an FTP, and activate the plugin inside your Wordpress administration area.

1) Adsense Deluxe Wordpress Plugin

The first and most important is a plugin called andquot;Adsense Deluxeandquot;. While this plugin will help you to display Adsense ads on your blog, it also serves other purposes. You can use this plugin to insert Javascript, PHP and almost any other type of code into your blog posts.

The Adsense Deluxe plugin will allow you to insert Adsense ads into your blog posts by including a simple code like this:

You can create multiple ad formats in the plugin's settings page, and you can always change these later without having to modify the individual blog posts. This makes it easy to test different ad formats over time, and also to replace your Adsense codes with other ads if the need arises.

2) Adsense Injection Wordpress Plugin

Unlike the Adsense Deluxe plugin, the andquot;Adsense Injectionandquot; plugin will insert Adsense codes automatically into every blog post, including older posts.

This is great if your blog already has a lot of existing content, and you don't want to insert codes manually into all of them. As the name suggests, when you use Adsense Injection you andquot;injectandquot; your Adsense codes automatically and randomly into all previous and future blog posts.

Thus, you will not have to worry about what's called andquot;ad blindnessandquot; as your Adsense blocks will appear in different positions within your content. You can also randomize different ad formats and different alignments to make sure that no two pages have the exact Adsense codes on them.

Unlike the Adsense Deluxe plugin however, the Adsense Injection plugin cannot display other Javascript ads or PHP codes.

3) Adsense Beautifier Wordpress Plugin

The Adsense Beautifier plugin just makes your ads prettier. By adding an image on top or next to your Adsense codes automatically, the plugin can help you to achieve a higher CTR (click-through) and ultimately higher Adsense earnings.

The images are generic so you can use them with any type of content. You can also create and upload your own images to be used with the Adsense Beautifier plugin. If you do this however, make sure you check with the Adsense support team as you don't want to violate any of their terms of service. <bio>Gobala Krishnan is the author of the best-selling andquot;Wordpress Adsense Systemandquot; at http://www.WordpressAdsenseSystem.com and also a niche-blogging specialist.
As long as there is Internet marketing, there will be spam. A lot of it comes from overseas, but some of it is from people who just don't know any better. They learn to go about doing things the wrong way, and some of them can get into trouble, as with email spamming. But the people who spam blogs, are by and large, just wasting their time.

Rather than waste valuable Internet marketing effort, people should do something much more effective like writing articles or posting in their own blogs. But some spend their money on "blog blasters," which randomly spam blog comments throughout the blogging universe. What these people don't realize is that they've wasted their money. But then, for every Internet marketing success story, there will be thousands of Internet marketing failures. People just don't get it. Spamming WordPress blogs, at least, is a total waste of time.

WordPress blogs come with a plugin, already installed, called "Akismet," and it will automatically pick out the spam comments and hold them for you, until you delete them. It's pretty efficient, and catches about 90% of the spam comments that come in. To activate the plugin, click on the "Plugins" tab from your WordPress dashboard. You'll see Akismet in a grey or green bar. If the bar is grey, you'll need to activate the plugin so click on the link on the right-hand side that says, "Activate."

To complete the process, you'll need to get an API key from WordPress. This is a simple line of letters and numbers, and to get it, you just need to register with Word Press at http://wordpress.org. Once you've signed up, WordPress will email the API key to you. When you see it in your Inbox, go back to your blog and click on the Plugins tab again. To the far right, you'll see "Akismet Configuration." That will take you to a page that has an empty box for that API key. Fill it in and click "Update API Key." Bang! No more spam.

Now, you'll have to monitor the spam, so go to "Manage," from your Dashboard screen. You'll then see that "Akismet Spam" link. When you see there are spam comments, if there are only a few, you can check to see that they're all spam. If so, then, click on "Delete All!" and they're gone. Before my blog had so many spam comments, I found some legitimate comments and could weed them out to be approved. Now, we get hundreds of spam comments every day, so they're just all deleted. Anyone wanting to spam my Internet marketing blog is out of luck.

If you have a blog, you need that spam control. So, it's not enough to just activate the spam filter. You have to approve your comments. From the WordPress dashboard, click on "Options," and then "Discussion." Set your preference to: "An administrator must approve the comment." Then, you'll be able to see every comment before it hits your blog. Akismet is a great blocker, but not 100%.

Akismet will handle most of the problem. When your blog is new, you may not have much spam, but once it hits the search engines, you'll see it grow daily. Akismet is one great way to control this quickly and easily. Let someone else waste their Internet marketing time on stupid tricks. You won't have to. <bio>Tellman Knudson is CEO of http://OvercomeEverything.com and a master of list building.
While internet business marketing may not be your area of expertise, a few simple steps can take you from nothing, to your own custom business blog. Most people can even go from start to finish in less than 24 hours! Let's get down to business.

Step 1. Less than 1 hour. Set up a subdomain or folder on your main site. Many companies like to use example.com/blog for their blog address. Others like blog.example.com. In terms of effectiveness, most people agree that blog.example.com is seen as a second website, and therefore is more effective. On the other hand, setting up example.com/blog is much easier.

If you choose to go with example.com/blog you don't need to do anything extra. Log into your website via FTP (or talk to whoever manages your website) and create a folder on the root of your site called "blog".

Step 2. 1-2 hours, depending on level of expertise. Download Wordpress from Wordpress.org. Wordpress is a free and easy to use blog software. All you need to do is upload all of the files, create a database and tell Wordpress how to find it. Now that may sound difficult, but there are thousands of easy to follow tutorials online. Your webhost might even help you get started.

Step 3. 1-3 hours. Find a Wordpress theme you like and upload it to your Wordpress folder in wp-content/themes/. After it is uploaded, go to your Wordpress Admin panel found at example.com/blog/wp-admin and log in. Then click Presentation and click on the theme you uploaded. Now your blog has a unique look that helps set it apart from others.

Step 4 (optional). 3 hours and $100-200. Another option for making your blog look even more unique is to have a custom theme created for you. There are many different Wordpress theme creators and they can blend the theme to make it fit your current website, or they could even make a theme based on another website you like. Since you have a different theme on your blog already, you can skip this step.

Step 5. 30 minutes and above. Blogging. This is the step that actually makes the difference. Now you'll want to log into you Wordpress admin panel, click Write and begin writing. You can decide what type of writing you will do. You can stick to company news, or you can spice it up tutorials and tips relevant to your industry. If you start to attract and audience, find out what they like and give them more!

That's it, once you've got the ball rolling try to find a posting frequency that works for you. You'll find that some people like posting multiple times every day. Other people post once a month or less. If you're in a highly agile and constantly changing industry you might want to post daily. If you industry doesn't change often you might find posting once a month works better for you.

Now that you have the plan, get out there and start building your business blog! <bio>http://Business-Cards-Free.com has additional tips and tricks to make your business blog successful.
WordPress is a great open-development community that encourages its users to innovate. But a few years ago, it started getting hard to keep up with those innovations. That's when the WordPress Plugin Repository was born (currently hosted at http://WP-plugins.org).

The repository is a place where all WordPress plugins are pulled together and shared with the community of users. But more than that, it's a place where developers can go to see what's already out there, what they can base their new work on, and what needs to be improved. In addition to end-user utilities that anyone can download for their WordPress needs, there are plenty of development tools, including wiki-based version control and a bug tracker, that the WordPress development community is welcomed to use. Everything is licensed under GPL unless noted in the source, so almost everything is open.

If you're new to the WordPress plugin repository but not to the WordPress support forums, you should login with your forum username and password; they are currently synced. If you have any problems, you should email the forum webmaster to ask what's going on. Only logged-in users may edit on the Repository, though everyone is welcome to view what's going on.

What's Available on the WordPress Plugin Repository?

The Repository is designed to be a complete, organized, efficient method of seeing what's in development and what has been developed for WordPress. As such, the core offerings here are the plugin directory and a robust version control mechanism. You can also use a special interface, downloadable for free, to work with the Repository more easily. The Repository is powered by Trac, a source control management and project management tool. Subversion is a wiki tool providing version control, and is also the source management tool WordPress is using today.

Developers using this directory can host all their WordPress developments for free, even organizing teamwork through the WordPress Plugin Repository. By hosting here, they have high visibility, can easily manage their code and track bugs, and develop wiki-based documentation with end users more easily than they could ever do it by themselves.

But developers without users are like stores without customers. WordPress users, too, are welcome to download plugins that are in alpha or beta form, or to download and use the plugins that are fully-functional but not integrated into WordPress yet. There are tools available for users to:

• Browse plugins and themes available at the Repository • Download all desired plugins and themes from one stable location • Give their own feedback and suggestions to developers by using the tracker. • Help develop documentation and improvements by using the plugin's wiki page. • Know what's going on at all times by using RSS feeds.

Anyone developing or looking for WordPress plugins and themes is encouraged to use this resource. An email will get you the hosting you need for your project, and just coming and looking around will tell you a lot about what's going on in the WordPress development world.

What Plugins Are Available Right Now?

While plugins are changing fast, a few core plugins are available and certainly worth the time they'll take to check out. The best ones right now include:

Main Categories for WordPress allows you select "main" categories on your blog's navigation bar. This allows you to highlight the parts of your blog you find most important, while still displaying everything else.

The WordPress DBManager manages your WordPress database so you don't have to. Instead of worrying about lost data, you can use this manager to optimize, back up, restore, delete backed up databases, and even run queries for specific data.

WordPress Email allow you to send your blog entries to friends, enemies, or anyone you choose.

WordPress PageNavi gives you advanced page navigation.

WordPress Polls allows you to run the ever-popular polls and make the results public when you're ready.

WordPress PostRatings allows you to have rating systems for your blog posts.

WordPress PostViews lets you display for users and for yourself how many times a post has been viewed.

WordPress Print will display for the user a printable version of any given WordPress blog post.

WordPress RelativeDate displays a relative date beside your post or comment actual date.

WordPress Stats displays WordPress statistics you want to brag about.

WordPress UserOnline allows you to note which users are currently browsing your blogs

WordPress Wap allows you to use a Wap-enabled cell phone to brows your WordPress blog entries from anywhere.

Other projects that are in development include:

• Joystick controls • RPMView • A WordPress XHTML validator • Tons of tools for Python, including MySQL tools • Recording level monitor • An admin themer • A post editor enhancement • Fix broken links • Palm usage manager

There are always new things in development in the repository, like new themes and small fixes such as a way to make WordPress allow dashes.

Even if you're not a developer or interested in expanding your blog beyond what it has now, it is a good idea to check out the Repository. It's certain that many of the plugins provided or in development today will eventually be incorporated into the newer upgrades of WordPress. By keeping an eye on the Repository, you'll know what new developments are around the corner -- and by logging in and discussing them on the wiki logs, you'll be able to give your own input regarding how things ought to be done. While there are other places to find WordPress plugins, it's to be hoped that most people will use the Repository in the future, making life easier for everyone. <bio>http://www.theinternetone.net </bio>

Creating a blog on your site isn't as daunting as it may initially sound.

There are several different ways that you can go about the process. All of them assume that you have some kind of web space hosting of your own - this is readily available nowadays for very little money, so don't panic.

The very cheapest web hosting is free but this often comes with adverts that pay the service hosting your site enough money for them to offer you the space for free.

If you expect your site to generate a reasonable amount of traffic then it's better to spend a few dollars a month on reliable web hosting.

Next up is to decide on your blog platform.

1. Use Blogger on your own site

Google's Blogger service gives you the option of using Blogger and its accompanying site or simply using Blogger to write your posts, which then get published on your own site.

It's easy to do this. Just go into your Blogger control panel, click the Settings tab and then select the Publishing tab. You'll see a link that says "Switch to custom domain". You'll then be given the option of buying a brand new domain for your blog or pointing it to a domain you already use. It's a simple matter of following the instructions on screen. Once you've done that, your Blogger blog will be posted to your own website instead of on Blogger.

2. Use Wordpress on your own site

This isn't quite as easy as Blogger, but it's pretty close. Most hosts offer a one click install of Wordpress. This installs the basic software on your web hosting space and then allows you to do whatever tweaks you need to make the blog your own rather than the "out of the box" settings. At the very least, you should turn on Akismet anti spam in your plug-ins. This involves getting an API key from Wordpress but that's a simple matter of clicking a few links and following the instructions that appear.

Once you've got Wordpress installed, check out a few tutorial sites to make sure that you've got your brand new blog set up as efficiently as possible so that the search engines can give it the publicity it deserves.

3. Choose a different blogging platform

Blogger and Wordpress are just two of the blog platforms available. There are lots more including systems such as Moveable Type amongst others.

That said, most people find that either the simplicity of Blogger or the customizable nature of Wordpress are more than adequate for their needs. Both platforms are very well supported and you're almost certain to be able to do exactly what you want to do with them.

Whichever you choose, you should make sure that you perform regular backups of your posts.

Apart from your writing, the template you choose for your new blog is the biggest statement you can make to the outside world. Both Blogger and Wordpress come with lots of templates or you can have your own template custom designed if you want to really stand out from the crowd. <bio>Find out more about creating a blog and start your new web publishing career by visiting http://www.squidoo.com/howtocreateablog </bio>

If you would like to set up your own blog, just follow these quick and easy steps to get started. You'll be blogging in a matter of minutes!

There are a variety of options for setting up your first blog, but I am only going to mention two of them here. These are the two fastest and easiest ways to get started blogging, and they are also the two best ways. One of them is even better than the other=85

The first option is <a href="http://Blogger.com" >http://Blogger.com. I consider it second best. It is free to set up a blog there, and fairly easy to use. You can set up an account, choose a template, and begin blogging.

The second option, and the one I use myself and recommend to others, is WordPress. There are other options out there, but WordPress is free and widely supported.

If you already have a web hosting account, check with them first. Most of them offer WordPress as a free add-on within their hosting accounts, and it is a simple one-click install.

If you don't have a hosting account, or if you wont be using the same hosting account for your new blog, I would recommend that you open an account with HostGator. For only $9.95 you can get an account that lets you set up an unlimited number of sites, blogs or domain names. So if you choose to set up additional blogs or websites in the future, it wont cost you any extra.

Most people who start out on http://Blogger.com, and decide that they want to move up in the blogging world, end up switching over to WordPress. This is the reason that I recommend you just go ahead and start out on WordPress. That way you won't have to worry about starting over, or convincing readers to subscribe to your new blog when you make the switch.

But if you do start out on http://Blogger.com, I would recommend that you get your own domain name. Your domain name will be the http://www.myblogname.com. If you don't register a domain name, your address will be http://myblogname.blogspot.com. If you choose to make changes later, you will lose any PageRank and incoming links that you have worked hard to build. So it makes sense to start out with your own domain name.

You can register a domain name for only $8.95 at http://Godaddy.com.

Here is your quick checklist for starting a blog:

- Pick a topic for your blog - Register a domain name for your blog - Check with your current host, or set up a hosting account - Use the one-click install within your control panel - Start blogging!

Once you set up your blog and begin blogging, you will want to explore all of the options that are available. There are many themes or templates that you can use for free, customizations that you may want to do, and of course techniques to promote your blog.

But first you have to get started... so go ahead and follow these easy steps and set up your new blog today!

Best, Lynn Terry <bio>Lynn Terry blogs daily at http://www.ClickNewz.com where she shares Online Business and Marketing tips. It is designed to be locally installed in whatever location a user prefers, whether in one's own server, or in a hosting account. This allows one to have complete control with one's blog. This makes it quite different from services hosted by third parties. WordPress can even be installed in one's desktop or even on a company Intranet. Thus, the benefit of blogging could be extended to many places.

WordPress also provides for an effective and reliable user management. This allows a blog owner to control the access levels of different users. A blog owner can control the ability of users to make changes in the blog. Users are also given the ability to define their profiles for them to post certain information they would want to post as users of a blog. This helps in establishing a good line of communication between blog owners and users.

WordPress is very much compliant to industry standards, particularly UTC (Universal Coordinated Time), which provides for optimal compatibility to and with other systems. This is necessary for synchronization among users in various locations worldwide.

WordPress is also very easy to install of upgrade. Its 5-minute installation is quite a famous manifestation of the software's straightforwardness and user-friendliness. Upgrades are made regularly, and are just as easy, if not even easier, as the installation process.

What Makes WordPress a Useful Tool for Making Money Online?

The features of WordPress make it an indispensable tool for online moneymaking activities.
Internet marketing and blogging go almost hand-in-hand. Not only are blogs great for getting the word about your niche and your website out to the universe, but they help you to get search engine ranking, and blogging is fun and simple to do. But if you want a blog, now or in the future, you need to think about that before you acquire web hosting, as we discussed in an earlier "Getting Started with Internet Marketing" article. If you aren't techy enough to install a MySQL database (and if you're new, trust me, you probably can't do this), then you'll want to find cPanel web hosting with Fantastico. From there, getting a WordPress blog up and running is very simple to do.

Internet marketing people go for one of two types of blog, usually--WordPress or Movable Type. Of the two, WordPress is preferred because it's so search engine friendly and it's easily customizable. The newest version has sidebar widgets that you can move around and change very easily without having to mess with the code, like in earlier installations. There are also thousands of themes that you can download free and use. Plus, changing themes is extremely easy to do, just by clicking your mouse.

So, if you want a WordPress blog immediately or in the future, the easiest way to install one is via Fantastico which comes with cPanel hosting. This way, it's free and easy to install WordPress. If you opt for another hosting platform, and you're not doing the tech work yourself, you'll end up spending a few bucks to hire someone to do it for you, so it's really up to you. But if you do get the cPanel hosting, log into your control panel and scroll down to the bottom. You'll see a blue smiley face that says "Fantastico" or "Fantastico Deluxe." Click there.

Inside Fantastico, you'll see a long list of applications that you can install to your website, and if you're into Internet marketing, some of them can be very useful, like shopping carts, support desks, etc. But for now, just go to the "Blogs" section and click on WordPress. The next screen shows you some information to complete. So, do that and then, click "Install Word Press." You're all set!

Once your new blog is installed, it's time to make it yours. You can go to WordPress.org and find some cool themes to use or you can mess around with the widgets in your sidebar. Blogging is about having fun and getting your message out to the world. If it's an Internet marketing message be sure that your blog isn't too outrageous or nobody will take you seriously. That doesn't mean you can't be funny now and then, that you can use hot colors, or that you can't add video and audio and all the things that make blogs unique. Just remember you're there to drive traffic to your main website. There are some great ways to do that, but we'll discuss more about that in our next article... <bio>Tellman Knudson is CEO of Overcome Everything, Inc. and a master list builder.
The free open source blogging platform Wordpress continues to be a popular tool for internet marketers who want to create websites fast. Though feature rich, an out-of-the-box Wordpress install lacks some features that many internet marketers rely on. Fortunately, there are many free Worpdress plugins that provide these features. Here are three of the most popular.

Keep in mind, before you install any of these plugins, you'll want to make certain you have the current version of Wordpress installed to avoid any errors or possible vulnerabilities. The latest upgrade of the platform can always be updated at Wordpress.org's main site.

All In One SEO Pack - Although blog traffic can come from many sources besides the search engines, there's no doubt that free natural search engine traffic is still very important to the success of any website or blog. With the All In One Seo pack plugin, your Wordpress blog will be automatically optimized for onsite SEO. This plugin saves hours of time over tweaking themes, options and individual plugins to acheive the same results.

Please note that because the search engines often change the way they rank pages, you'll want to have the most current version of this plugin. Check back frequently on their main site to make sure your plugin is up to date.

Adsense Plugin - This plugin has been around for a while, but it is upgraded to work with the current version of Wordpress. Seems the popularity of adsense never goes away, even if the earnings per click have gone down over the past few years. If you want a quick and easy way to get adsense or even Yahoo Publisher Network ads showing up on your Wordpress blogs, and you want an easy way to control where they show up and how they look, this is a must have plug-in. The learning curve is very fast with this plugin, and users will enjoy tweaking the settings to increase ad clickthroughs and profits.

Remember though, Adsense isn't your only option for monetizing your blog. You can also run paid ads yourself by dealing directly with other sites that want to advertise. Though more profitable, it is also more time consuming.

FeedWordPress - Feedwordpress is a plugin that takes rss feeds and creates full pages out of them on your blog automatically. It should not be used alone, as your site will start to look like a scraper site. When added to a blog with original content though, it can greatly increase traffic to your site.

A couple of warnings though, the learning curve with this plugin is high and you need to make sure you have permission to use the rss feeds you program this plugin with. Most sites that have rss feeds available also provide a copy of their terms of service for using the feeds, so be sure to check those out. Not complying with another site's TOS can lead to nasty emails or even a cease and desist letter, so consider yourself warned.<bio>Bonus Plugin: A new opt-in plugin for Wordpress has just been released. The FasterIM Opt-in plugin allows webmasters to add unblockable popover opt-in forms to your blogs instantly. This plugin is also free and can be downloaded at: http://www.fasterinternetmarketing.com/FasterIM-OptIn</bio>
