Pennsylvania is not somewhere that you would expect to find wine or wine tours for that matter if you do not know that much about wine in the first place. The majority of people that drink wine only think of wine centres as places like California, Australia, France, Italy and so on. Pennsylvania wine tours would not even enter their conscious. However, Pennsylvania wine tours have a unique and distinctive history that should be explored to its fullest extent. Pennsylvania wine began to filter into the common market when the Farm Winery Act was passed in 1978, but it has been made there since the 1600s. Pennsylvania is in fact the first place in the United States that began to process grapes for wine and should be treated with reverence. You should take one of the many Pennsylvania wine tours at least once in your life!

The first commercial vineyard in Pennsylvania was established in 1793, although it was not until much later that Pennsylvania wine tours actually came about. The wine producers were initially beset with a variety of problems. Everything from crop failure to grape varieties not taking to the earth properly. As a result, the wine industry of the 1800s was more or less defunct with no hope of revival. There were still some growers determined to make a go of it though, and a good job too because Pennsylvania wine tours would not be a part of the modern day culture otherwise.

Pennsylvania wine tours actually became pretty much established in the mid 1800s. They actually came about when an absolute genius decided to try the landscape of the lakes for wine growing. The vineyards around Lake Eerie were planted in the mid 19th Century after the Eerie canal was built for irrigation purposes and Pennsylvania has never looked back. The first winery in the region, which is now a staple part of Pennsylvania wine tours, was the South Shore Wine Cellar. As the region is now conservative in nature and does not really produce wine to the extent that it did some years ago, it is generally off limits to the Pennsylvania wine tours. You can however see the region from the comfort of a car or a bus.

It has only been in the last thirty years or so, since 1978, that wine production in Pennsylvania has begun to flourish. It is only since the early 1980s that Pennsylvania wine tours have been established and have risen dramatically in popularity ever since. The weather and general environment of the region lends itself to great production of grapes and thus also of wine. The growth of the industry has been magnificent since then and over 90 wineries are now included in the Pennsylvania wine tours for you to look round and fully appreciate just how much it has all grown in the last few years. Indeed, some of the wineries actually produce fruit wines unheard of in other wineries across the country. This will definitely enhance your experience of the Pennsylvania wine tours For more info see http://www.bestwinetourguide.com/ on Best Wine.

Pennsylvania wine tours can show you a top ten wine-producing region in the United States. You can find a huge variety of wine types in Pennsylvania and try the various types as a part of Pennsylvania wine tours. Whatever wine you are looking for, the likelihood is that you will find it here. Pennsylvania wine tours will give you a new and unique experience so be sure to book on one as soon as you can! <bio>You can also find more info on http://www.bestwinetourguide.com/Wine_Tours_In_New_York/ on Wine Tours In New York and http://www.bestwinetourguide.com/Wine_Tours_In_Southern_California/ on Wine Tours In Southern California. http://Bestwinetourguide.com is a comprehensive resource to known more about wine. </bio>

Fine wine often brings to mind images of French rolling hills and elegant dinners; however, Italy's twenty regions bring to the pallet an array of fine wines for your dining pleasure.

Italian wine making enjoys tradition rich in both modern and rustic methods, although much of the country's wineries now employ scientific and technological tools to create quality wines. The country's wines are made primarily from two types of grapes, Nebbiolo and Sangiovese. The Nebbiolo grapes are used in the northwester part of the country, creating the red wines Barolo and Barbaresco. The Sangiovese grapes create one of the better-known Italian wines, Chianti, and are native to the central Tuscany and Umbria regions.

Italy's wines are divided into four categories based on origin, quality, and purity. When shopping for a fine Italian wine, look for those with the designation of "Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita D.O.C.G.," which is awarded to wines with a solid reputation. This designation considers region, production yields, and a DOC of at least five years. DOC indicates the origins of a wine, the type of grapes used in making the wine, and the methods of production. DOCG is a designation following stricter guidelines than the DOC, which includes a guarantee of origin.

The five regions of the Northwest produce over a quarter of the country's DOC wines, but only about twenty percent of the country's total wine production. This, then, is a good place to begin when shopping for Italian wine, as many wine sellers group Italian wine by the region, whether in general terms, such as Northwest, or by specific region, such as Piedmont. The Piedmont region creates a number of DOC and DOCG wines.

The Northeast region is home to two of Italy's wine schools, and generates about a third of the country's DOC wines. The three regions create about a fifth of Italy's total wine production. Veneto, one of the regions, now produces the most wine of any region in the country.

Central Italy, comprised of six regions, accounts for about twenty percent of both wine production and DOC wines. The tradition of wine making in this region has often been traditional, the region is moving toward more contemporary wine making methods, and the overall quality has improved. Some wine experts believe that this region will continue to make great strides in wine making, so for those who love red wine, this is an area worth watching. Tuscany creates the well-known Chianti wine, as well as a variety of other

Tuscan reds.

The Southern region, which includes the islands, is comprised of six regions. These regions produce about forty percent of the total production, but only about fourteen percent of DOC and DOCG wines. The region is focusing on overall quality, and this, too, is a region worth watching. For those interested in consistent quality wines, many of the region's production offer just that.

For those new to Italian wine or wanting additional information, there is an abundance of sources. An importer specializing in Italian wine is one of the best sources for information on fine Italian wines, and can provide suggestions based on your individual preferences. You can also do your own research and wine tasting based on your style and preference. As with many things Italian, the wines are among the finer indulgences.
Wine tasting is an assessment of a wine's quality. It's not just about taste but also covers aroma, color, the way it feels in one's mouth and how long the wine persists in the mouth after tasting. Wine tasting is also one way to determine the maturity of the wine and whether it is suitable for aging or for immediate drinking. Its purpose it to discover the key facets of the wine in order to appreciate it better in every sense of the word.

Wine tasting also serves to compare a particular wine with others that fall into the same price range, region or vintage - its quality, whether it is typical of the region it was made in, whether it uses certain wine making techniques and if it has any faults. It may sound hard to believe, but practiced wine tasters can actually tell if a wine was made through oak fermentation or malolactic fermentation. Their taste buds and their noses are simply that well-developed.

In wine tasting, wine is often served andquot;blind, andquot; meaning that the taster should not see the wine's label because he might be influenced by it and to ensure impartial judgment of the wine.

Wine should be served at temperatures of 16 and 18 degrees centigrade (60 and 64 degrees fahrenheit). It is at this temperature that the wine's flavor and aroma is said to be most detectable. It is important that wines be served at the same temperature so that they can be judged using the same standards. The one exception is in the case of sparkling wine, which is usually served chilled mainly because sparkling wine does not taste well when it is warm.

Since wines do not taste alike, the order of tasting the wine is also important. For instance, heavy or sweet wine leaves a lingering taste that can affect the taste of succeeding lighter wines. There is actually a preferred order of tasting: sparkling wines; light whites, then heavy whites; roses; light reds; heavy reds; sweet wines.

So, the next time you see someone smelling his wine or just gently dabbing it on his tongue and lips, you have a better idea of what's going on. In truth, it looks foreign and a little complicated, but anyone can be an accomplished wine taster with some practice. All you have to do is drink more wine.
Wine is composed of unmodified grape juice which was fermented to create an alcoholic drink that many people enjoy the world over. In many countries, dinner or even lunch is not complete without a bottle of wine. Celebrations often require a bottle of wine and this is accompanied by cheers and saluts.

Generally, there are two types of wines; the red wine and the white wine. Both wines are made from grapes, although, different varieties of grapes and both are also fermented to create the wine. The two types of wines also have several kinds of wines. As such, they are usually named after the region they come from in the world or the type of grape used to make the bottle of wine. There are also several other kinds of wines other than the red and the white but these two are the more common.

Composition of a Bottle of Wine

A bottle of wine is primarily composed of grape juice. The grapes made into wine are the key factors to the taste of the beverage. These grapes are usually from the European grapes species. The location of the vineyard and the climate in the specific location has a lot to do with the taste of the wine. This is what is called the terroir and it plays a big role on the quality of the wine.

Yeast is also added to the wine composition to ferment the grape juice. The fermentation may take a few months to achieve the right flavor f the wine. Water is also one of the main components of a bottle of wine and definitely the most abundant component in it. Alcohol also comprises wine and the alcohol content depends on what kind of wine we are talking about.

The Uses of Wine

A bottle of wine is commonly used for drinking, of course. It is also used in liturgical events or other religious based events. Many use wine to celebrate victories and to drown out defeats. A bottle of wine can also be used in cooking, baking and to create cuisine around the world. It is usually used to flavor stocks (beef, chicken etc) or braising the food.

A bottle of wine can also be used to relax the body; as such it has gained a reputation of being medicinal and an aphrodisiac. Some researchers have stated that re wine may be more beneficial for preventing cancer compared to white because red wine contains more poyphenols. <bio>http://www.about-wine-making.info </bio>

When thinking about a vacation in France, there is always the image of going on one of the many delightful, relaxing and wonderfully delicious Bordeaux wine tours. The Bordeaux region of France has long been known for the amazing wines it has produced - and continues to produce. The Bordeaux region was divided into four wine producing areas by Emperor Napoleon III in 1855, and each area produces a unique and distinctive type of wine. Since the region of Bordeaux is relatively small, it is possible, with some planning, to tour each of the regions and sample the amazing qualities of wines produced in the area.

Most wines on the Bordeaux wine tours will be reds, but with constant pressure from other wine growing countries, the French vineyards and wineries have responded with an ever increasing variety. Today, on a wine tasting tour of the area, participants can expect to sample the traditional full-bodied red wines, together with medium-bodied reds and dry and sweet white wines.

There are many options when considering one of the many Bordeaux wine tours. One of the more popular tours for wine lovers, and those new to wine tasting and enjoyment, includes the harvest tours. These tours allow participants to actually work alongside the grape pickers in the field, helping with the harvest for a brief period of time. Lunch is then served in the fields and is usually a traditional French meal, served, of course, with wonderful wines from the winery. After lunch the tour continues with wine classes, wine tasting and then ends up with dinner in an authentic Bordeaux restaurant. For those that really like to learn about wines and wine making, this is an ideal chance to experience the whole production.

In addition to the harvest tours there are also many other options for Bordeaux wine tours. There is a bicycle wine tour offered through the area that allows participants to experience the countryside in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Everyone will ride bicycles to and from the very centrally located vineyards and wineries, and will also stop for lunch at local restaurants for wonderful traditional fare.

For those that wish to travel in comfort, Bordeaux wine tours have just the options. There are limousine tours that will provide individual or small group wine tastings at various chateaus and wineries within a given area of Bordeaux, or may complete a larger circuit of the various wine houses. There are also large charter bus services that provide guides, instructors and even chefs that can provide ideas for meals that are compatible with the various types of wines found in the Bordeaux area. <bio>Terry Roberts is a professional translator and linguist, with a wide range of interests.
The most popular wine created in Montefalco is Sagrantino. Wines from the region of Sangiovese date back to pre-Roman times however, it was Franciscan friars that actually introduced Sagrantino wine grapes to the region from Minor Asia. Today, Sagrantino can boast about the certificates of quality DOC and DOCG, which it received in 1979 and 1992.

The uniqueness of Sagrantino is that one special variety is created by using partially dried grapes; however, other cultivated grapes are used as well.

Sagrantino of Montefalco's dry version is a garnet red color with just a soft whiff of violet petals with an aroma of blackberries. The alcohol strength is between 13% and 15% and should be served at room temperature to delight your tastebuds.

The variety of Sagrantino created with partially dried grapes is a full-bodied wine, which is smooth, spicy, and warm. The alcohol strength is always 14% or more. The color of this variety of wine is also a garnet red.

Sagrantino Passito wine is another favorite of the Montefalco region and is the most traditional and ancient wine of the area. This dessert wine is created by using Sagrantino grapes with traditions that have been passed down through the ages. The grapes are fully ripe when they are chosen for Passito wine. They are placed on racks in rooms that are very well ventilated so the grapes can dry out evenly and slowly. They will go through the drying process for two months before they are pressed and made into delightful dessert wine.

Montefalco wines were at one time created by monks and their wonderful way of creating such exquisite wines still exist today with the help of Sagrantino grapes that are harvested at the perfect time, aged for the exact amount of time, and then pressed and turned into wine.

Other wines produced here are Montefalco Rosso DOC and Montefalco Riserva DOC. They are produced mixing up Sagrantino and Sangiovese grapes. These are very good red wines.

Wines produced in Montefalco are exported all over the world, making this city very famous and known. <bio>Information about the Wines of Montefalco http://www.tuttomontefalco.it/eng/montefalco-wine/wines-montefalco.php and Montefalco href=http://www.tuttomontefalco.it/eng/index.php http://www.bed-and-breakfast-in-umbria.it/eng/montefalco/montefalco.aspx Tourism Montefalco </bio>

Wine is a perfect way to enjoy your favorite dinner. It makes the dinner even more enjoyable. The taste and the experience one enjoys via teaming up a perfect wine is awesome.

However, pairing the right wine with your meal can be a nightmare. Most people are so confused about the rules associated with drinking wine for instance red wine goes well with meat and the white wine is just perfect for fish. Don't get confused. All you require to do is to avoid so called rules for drinking wine and trust what suits your tastes and preferences. Here are some tips to enjoy a bottle of wine with your meal.

a) Specialty shops:

You should visit some shops that are famous for selling best wines. Specialized dealers are well aware of the quality of wine. You can talk to them regarding what's good and what will excite your taste buds. Allow them to walk through a selection. Try to listen to their expert advice. This provides you excellent results. You should also answer some of the questions in order to help you in making a decision. These questions may include factors like your personal preference, price range and the meal you can consume a particular wine with. You can also visit shops with open bottles for tasting. You can taste these wine samples and then decide for your own preference.

b) Gain knowledge:

Wines are usually categorized by the types of grapes used in them. Grape species usually grow in restricted climatic conditions. For instance, the Pinot Noir grape grows best in Oregon, certain parts of California, Burgundy and New Zealand. When you look for a Pinot Noir wine, you should go for one that's manufactured in one of the above mentioned areas. You should also attain certain knowledge about the grapes. This will help you taste some of the awesome varieties of wine. In case, you are an ardent lover of Merlot, you can try out a Red Bordeaux. This wine is made out of Merlot grape.

c) Right Region:

As already mentioned in the point above, you should pay extra attention to the region where the wine is produced. Climate differs in different region of the world and this affects the taste of wine. For instance, chardonnay grape grows better all over the world. When grown in warm climate, it gives out earthier taste and produces lighter and citrusy taste in cooler climate.

d) Opt for what you like:

This is easy. Most people prefer sticking to what they have already taste and love. Each one of us have our own individual taste and like drinking the wine we already know about and have tasted before. Hence, it is very important to opt for what you like in order to enjoy the wire.

e) Don't follow the so-called `rules':

It is a common saying that white wine goes well with fish and red wine tastes well with meat dishes. However, restricting yourself to these rules will exacerbate the fun out of choosing wine. It's better to trust your own inner sense when it comes to choosing wine. <bio>Jack Wells is a red wine enthusiasts and you can read about wine reviews here: http://www.winehappy.com/winereviews </bio>

Sparkling wine is well known for it's tiny bubbles that race to the surface. Sparkling wine is one of the most exotic yet refreshing types of wine, providing memories and happiness once the cork is released into the air. For many years, this exotic wine has proven to be among the most popular types of wine for celebrations and special achievements http://www.besthostbest.com

By looking at sparkling wine, you'll find it to be a complete mystery. When tasting the wine, friends and lovers choose to discuss the refreshing, nutty aroma. Even though this type of wine is very popular, it can be hard to describe. Although the taste and aroma can be right there, lingering in the air - it's still something that is nearly impossible to find the words for.

When you first open a bottle of sparkling wine, the carbon dioxide aroma that instantly fills the air is an experience that you have to smell to believe. A true feast for all of your senses, sparkling wine can instantly put you at ease. Drinking this wine is a feast for your taste buds, bringing several different flavors to rest on your tongue at the same time.

Even though the nature of sparkling wine is really unknown, society as a whole as really accepted it. Although many don't realize it, the crisp and delicate taste of this wine isn't what made it what it is today. Similar to the shine and splendor of the finest diamonds, sparkling wine emits a truly elegant aura and romance that makes it easy to distinguish from other types of wine.

Sparkling wine was first discovered in France by Dom Perignon, who was a monk in the Champagne region. He actually stumbled upon this fine wine while performing his duties as a cellar master in the Benedictine Abbey. Dom would hide his discovery for many years, as the public didn't really respond in the way that he had been hoping.

Although Dom Perignon's sparkling wine wasn't popular at first, it would grow and become more popular over the years. Once people in France and people around the world caught wind this amazing sparkling wine, they simply had to experience it for themselves. At this point, it didn't take long for Dom Perignon to become a legend and one of the most important wine makers throughout the rich and cherished history of France.

The formula and techniques that Dom used to produce his sparkling wine eventually become known as the traditional way of making Champagne. The process is still used throughout the world today, producing some of the best sparkling wines. Even though sparkling wine is made in various locations, many agree that the best place is the Champagne region of France - which is where sparkling wine first began and was first introduced to the world.

These days, sparkling wine is an essential part of life, for celebrations and events. With most celebrations, sparkling wine is simply a must have. There are many manufacturers of the wine these days, although most prefer to have the original and still the best - Dom Perignon. No matter where the future of wine goes, sparkling wine will never die. It will always be the wine that sparks celebrations, and the wine that makes events come to life. From it's truly unique and breathtaking taste to it's amazing look and splendid aroma - sparkling wine has the appeal and the flavor to keep people celebrating and living life for years and years to come. <bio>http://www.charthosting.com </bio>

You may remember the old adage 'you can't judge a book by its cover', but is the same true about a bottle of wine? Can you judge wine by its label?

What Do The Labels Mean?

There is a lot of information in the label of a bottle of wine, and if you aren't a connoisseur of wine it can be a little overwhelming at first glance. The majority of wine labels are quite similar though, containing information on the winery where the wine was made, the 'appellation' (the country or region where the grapes that went into the wine were grown), the variety (the type of grapes the wine was made from) and the vintage (the year when the grapes were harvested). The strength

/ alcohol content of the wine is also displayed on the label.

Some extra information may appear depending on the country in which the wine was bottled. As an example, wines bottled in the USA are required to have the name and address of the bottler displayed on the label, along with certain consumer warnings. There are also sometimes some details on the ripeness of the grapes, and information about the winery that produced the wine.

What Else Appears on Wine Labels?

What once was just used to mark what was in the bottle, wine labels have become a spot to showcase artwork and make for a unique collection for a wine lover. While they may seem like an odd collection, the artwork on wine labels can be extremely beautiful, and a label may remind you of a special trip or an important event where you enjoyed the wine. And wine labels are certainly easier to save and display than empty bottles! Collecting wine labels has become so popular that manufacturers have even developed special cases to display them, and wine labels actually have their own category on eBay! Avid collectors often have their own websites or blogs devoted to sharing their collection with others.

Can I Customize a Label For A Special Occasion?

If you are planning a special celebration =96 perhaps a wedding, anniversary celebration, or even just a really fancy company party, then you could take advantage of companies that allow you to turn a piece of your own artwork into a wine label. You could put pretty much anything you wanted on the label =96 a photograph of the couple getting married, your company logo, or some other design of significance to the recipient. After the wine has been drank, it is likely the bottle will remain displayed in pride of place for a long time to come! <bio>Looking for a fun way to learn more about wines? Take a wine tour! As one of the premier wine producing regions in the United States, Napa Valley is home to a number of different wines through it's wineries; among them include the Chandon, Caymus and Frank Family.

Napa Valley receives millions of visitors each year that tour it's productive wineries. Napa Valley has also become one of the premier attractions in the state of California. During a trip to the Napa Valley, visitors will have the experience of enjoying breathtaking vistas, numerous culinary pleasures and a source of inspiration for those who make wine as a hobby.

Even though this region has been historically strong, the fertile and beautiful Napa Valley has had it's share of times where it almost ceased to exist in terms of wine production. Beginning in 1920 and ending in 1933, Prohibition became the law of the land. Around the same time, phylloxera, a root louse, destroyed numerous vines that produced the wine which resulted in the closing of several wineries. However, Napa Valley wineries reopened again after World War II and the region became popular again.

The popularity of the Napa Valley region grew even more when the region's Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay were deemed to be better than the fine French labels in the Paris Wine Tasting in 1976. The region is continuing to grow and expand to this day and is now home to hundreds of wineries. The Napa Valley is now home to some of the world's best wineries.

Wine tours of the Napa Valley run from morning until evening. Visitors will not only have the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of fine wines, they will also have the chance to view the entire wine making process; from beginning to end. Many of the wineries also provide high quality wines at a discount in addition to their tours.

Despite the fact that there are hundreds of wineries in the Napa Valley, the valley itself is a condensed 35 miles long. However, this gives it an added convenience to the visitor because they can easily travel from one end of it to another in a relatively short amount of time. The drive of the entire distance of the valley only takes a half hour long with traffic permitting. The main route for these wineries is formed by Highway 29. On this route, you can also find not only the larger wineries, but shops, hotels and restaurants as well. Highway 29 begins quite close to the end of San Francisco Bay at the mouth of the Napa River. Every winery can be reached along Napa Valley when traveling along this highway.

Do you have an interest in wine and thinking about your next getaway? You might want to try the beautiful and fertile Napa Valley for your next vacation.<bio>Learn more about Napa Valley, and other wine growing regions at Wine Country Guide</bio>

The wines of Spain are as accurate a measure as any of the country's refinement and sophistication. Spain is a world class producer of reds, whites, sherry, and champagne. All over Spain, there are roughly 5,500 wineries producing 870 million gallons of wine annually. Undoubtedly, winemaking is a very important part not only of Spain's economy but also of its history. It is, thus, no surprise that Madrid hotels offer guided wine tours to guests. Wine tours give guests the chance to sample different Spanish wines and immerse themselves in Spanish culture, history, and art at the same time.

With so much wine distributed in the countryside, Madrid hotels' wine tours only have room for the best. Below are some of the best Spanish wineries that are frequently included in Madrid hotels' wine tours.

Valdepenas Valdepenas is one of the most affordable wine regions of Spain. It is, thus, advisable that during the Valedepenas stopover, you buy as much table wine as you can. This area of cold winters and humid summers is home to excellent Reserva and Gran Reserva, two wines that are produced using a hundred percent Tempranillo grapes.

Jerez The hot and dry southwestern region of Jerez is another historic Spanish wine country. Jerez is the birthplace of sherry, a much underrated wine that may be dry, medium, or ultra-rich.

Rioja Rioja is the heart of Spain's wine country. Most of the country's most successful vineyards are found in this region.

Navarra After Rioja, Madrid hotels' wine tours often stop at Navarra next. This is because Navarra is nearer to Rioja. It produces traditional wines, or wines made from indigenous grapes, and modern wines, manufactured through a combination of French grapes and Spanish grapes.

Ribero del Duero The vineyards of the Ribero del Duero is one of the most picturesque stops of Madrid hotels' wine tours. This region has, in recent years, become as popular a producer of wine as Rioja. It produces wines with a bold fruity flavor. In fact, it is home to the Vega Sicilia, the most famous of Spain's wines made almost entirely from French grapes.

Rueda Rueda is incorporated into Madrid hotels' wine tours because of one reason: white wine. Rueda is the best white wine region of Spain and the wines made there are made of Verdego grapes and nothing else. You could learn more about the wines of Rueda and other wine regions through sites like http://www.Holiday4You.com/.

You will find out, as the tour progresses, that the wines from Spain excel in both quality and quantity. Though frequently eclipsed in popularity by wines produced in Italy and France, Spain's wines will surely put a grin on the face of even the most discriminating wine connoisseurs. There is no denying or disguising quality, even if you have to travel miles to take a sip of it. As the Romans put it so succintly, "In vino veritas." In wine, there is truth. <bio>Want to learn more about Madrid hotels' wine tours ( http://www.holiday4you.com/madrid-2.htm )?
For many people a wedding just isn't a wedding without a champagne toast. However, many couples are offering alternatives to champagne with wine and sparkling cider. Yet, how do you know which champagnes are best and what wineto serve with what food? Here are some tips and tidbits to help you in choosing the spirits for your wedding reception.

The Wine Many people choose to serve wine with their wedding meal. While your caterer will probably have some suggestions for a specific wine, there choice is ultimately yours. Approximately 30 to 50 percent of couples serve white wine, while 30 to 50 percent drink red wine. Only about 10 to 20 percent of couples serve a white zinfandel.

So how do you choose which wine to serve? First think about your guests. More women than men drink white wine, and more men than women drink red wine. So if you have more women you will want to serve more white wine. Yet, your entrée also dictates the wine choice. For instance, Sauvignon Blanc is a good seafood wine, while Chardonnay is best with chicken, pork, and seafood. Red wines like Merlot and Cabernet are a good choice if you are serving beef or red sauce pastas at your wedding reception.

The Champagne Champagne will be an expensive part of your wedding food and drink budget, because it is much more costly than wine. Champagne is a sparkling wine that comes from the Champagne region of France. You can purchase sparkling wines from other regions, but they cannot carry the label of "Champagne" unless they come from that region.

Still, champagne is a great way to toast the new couple. Since most couples have a variety of people offering formal toasts during the wedding reception, it is a good idea to order enough for everyone to have two glasses of champagne.

Personalize It Some other couples find that adding a personalized label adds a nice touch to the wedding reception. There are many companies that offer personalized labels in order to offer wine as gifts at the reception or to just add a special touch to the champagne being poured.

No matter how much wine or champagne you plan on serving at your wedding, you should also understand that not every person will want or can have alcohol. Therefore, a fun alternative is to offer a sparkling cider. There is sparkling grape, apple, and even apple-cranberry that provide a similar look and feel as champagne. It is a nice way to make children and non-drinkers feel included. <bio>Chris Morton ran hotels and restaurants for 17 years - catering for 100's of weddings.
Make the most of your next wine country trip. Wine has been a big part of a lot of different cultures for many many years. You might not think it so =96 to you wine is probably just be something you drink with dinner, and your knowledge of what constitutes a good wine might simply be limited to what tastes good with whatever food you have prepared. However, there are many people who have made wine into their entire lives, and wine is very important to many countries =96 in culture, in life in general, and in people's minds as a staple of their lives. This is part of what makes wine tasting trip so fun, and so interesting. However, there is much more to going on wine country tours than simply sipping on wine in different vineyards. Wine country tours can be the most interesting, enlightening, and fun times you can ever have.

What Are They About?

You might be thinking what wine country tours are all about. First of all, yes, the wine tasting part is included in wine country tours. You'll visit the different wineries that are located in the area you are touring, and get to sample the different great wines that they sell at these wineries. However, wine country tours are about much more than simply drinking fine wines.

Firstly, most wine country tours include tours of the grounds where the grapes are grown that make the wine. Most people who enjoy wine don't really understand where it comes from or what makes it so special, so on wine country tours you'll have a chance to really dig down deep into the details and begin to learn more about what makes the wine so great, because you'll be learning about the grapes that are grown.

Next, you'll be able to tour the places where the wine is actually make. This is often the best part of wine country tours because there aren't too many people in the world who know how wine is made and who can tell you the exact process behind it. On wine country tours you'll be able to see this first hand, and the next time you take a drink of wine you'll be able to think about exactly how the wine came into being.

Often, however, the best part of wine country tours remains still the tasting of the wine. This, of course, is something that you can experience for yourself, and that you can remember always. You can also, if you're lucky, take some wine home to share with your loved ones! <bio>Tango Pang is an authority in the Wine Making field. Wine making can be fun.
While there are numerous wine regions in and around Cape Town, two of the best are definitely Paarl and Franschhoek. If you are a fan of French wine regions, you will definitely want to take a tour of Franschhoek. In fact, the area has been aptly nicknamed the French Corner due to the fact that it is just a bit like visiting Provence, with the exception that you are in South Africa. Even the names of the farms and the streets have a bit of a French twist to them. This is because beginning around 1688 French Huguenots began to arrive in South Africa in large numbers and settled in the region. You can even find a museum and monument that celebrates the arrival of the Huguenots in South Africa. While the Huguenots were trying to escape religious persecution they brought with them their knowledge and experience in viticulture and rapidly began to establish wine farms in the local area. Today, these farms and the wine industry is flourishing in the local area.

Of course, wine is not the only reason to visit this lovely region. You will also find some of the best restaurants in all of South Africa in Franschhoek. The local cheeses and produce are absolutely spectacular and well complimented by the locally produced wines. The idyllic scenery along with the wonderful wines and foods makes this region an area that should not be missed while in the Cape Town region.

While you won't find much in the way of traditional shopping, there is a fabulous chocolate shop as well as a local cheese shop where you can purchase items to take back with you. The chocolate shop even allows you to try your own hand at creating delicious confections.

Paarl is yet another area well worth visiting; known for its fabulous wines, eccentric art and plethora of monuments. In addition you will also find a number of antique stores that are well worth browsing as well as fabulous restaurants.

One of the best wine farms to explore is Seidelberg Wine Estate. Not only will you be able to tour the wine farm, but there is also an art studio located here known as Bronze Age and is home to functional pieces of art and metal sculptures. A sumptuous restaurant is located on the same estate along with a cellar that features a working glass blowing studio. If you have never had the opportunity to watch glass being created from sand, it is definitely an experience that should not be missed. You can also purchase glassware at the shop that ranges from perfume bottles to vases to sculpture.

At wine Valley Horse Trails there are stables right on site that provide you with the opportunity to see the best of the region while enjoying a relaxing horse back ride. This is truly a breathtaking way of seeing the beauty of the local area and should not be missed if you happen to be in the region.<bio>We are your source for Cape Town Accommodation, Cape Town Hotels, Knysna Accommodation, and more for your next vacation to the Western Cape.</bio>
