I have always been a dreamer. Even when I was a little kid my thoughts were always full of how my life could be different or of how the world could become a better place. Sometimes, after my mom had tucked me into bed with an instruction to stay in my bed no matter what, I'd sneak over to the large window in my bedroom and stare outside into space. I would find an area of the sky that was filled with the most stars and I would wait. I would whisper a wish (because wishes always had to be said outloud) and wait for a shooting star to fall and make my wish come true.

Sometimes my wishes would be for myself and other times I would make wishes for my friends or my family. I didn't like it that my knee got all scraped up when I fell down on the playground, and I didn't like it that other kids got made fun of if they had to wear glasses. So I would make wishes about things like these. I would wait on a shooting star in hopes that my mom would stop crying so much or so that my baby sister wouldn't be sick all the time. I believed with all my heart that all it took for my dreams to come true was seeing a shooting star fall from the sky. I believed there was something magical about a shooting star, something in it that was the answer to peoples' problems.

Even now, as an adult, I find myself wondering if wishing on a shooting star doesn't in some way help solve the problems of the world. It seems like too many of my childhood wishes got answered for there to not be at least a little magic in a shooting star. Of course now my wishes are for bigger things like world peace or the eradication of all of the world's poverty. I dream about a world without violence and about a world where every child is given a chance to live. And while most of the time these dreams never make it outside the walls of my own mind, every now and then I'll be outside on a clear night and find myself gazing up to the sky and wishing my dreams outloud, just above a whisper.

I'm not sure if I keep looking for a shooting star because I really believe in it's magic or if I'm just caught up in a habit from my childhood. Either way, I guess it is good for me to believe in the power of a little dreaming and of wishing upon a shooting star. <bio>Still on the lookout for a shooting star, Kirstine Pallette loves to see other people return to the dreams of their childhood. There is more to be learned about shooting stars at http://www.shootingstarplace.info </bio>

Bummis makes great cloth diapers covers to suit all your baby's needs. They have a wide variety of styles and prints, sure to please even the pickiest parents! Here are some of the great products made by Bummis.

Bummis Super Whisper Wrap

This great diaper cover features Aplix closings, which is similar to Velcro. This ensures that you get a super adjustable diaper cover to fit your baby perfectly. They have non binding elastic around the legs and the waist to be sure that none of the messes leak through. It also features polyester knit bindings to ensure comfort. The Super Whisper Wrap is able to stand up to industrial washing and drying, so you can be sure that these diaper covers will last you a long time. You can use this cover with prefolds, fitted, or snap diapers. You don't have to change this each time. If it is damp, simply line dry it. If it is soiled, though, be sure you wash it.

Bummis Super Snap Diaper Cover

These are very similar to the Super Whisper Wrap, but instead of the Aplix closing, they have durable plastic snaps. Many parents prefer snaps because they do not snag in the wash and they tend to last longer. The drawback is that they are not as adjustable as Aplix. They can be washed and dried at normal temperatures, and used with all cloth diapers.

Bummis Super Brite Diaper Cover

The Super Brite Diaper Cover comes in fun prints, and has an Aplix closing for a great fit. They have gusseted leg openings with lycra to fit even the smaller legs and to keep messes in. This is not a bulky diaper cover. It is only one layer of polyester and has a laminated inside. This means that all you have to do is wipe it down and you are good to go!

Polar Bummis

Polar Bummis are the ultimate in luxurious diaper covers. These are made from super soft fleece inside and out with a layer of laminate in between to stop wetness. The special fleece will not pil and is guaranteed for up to 100 washings! This material is very breathable and lightweight, so it doesn't get too hot, even in the summer. This is nice, trim diaper cover that works with any type of cloth diaper.

Swimmi

The Swimmi is a perfect cloth swim diaper. It works great so that there are no leaks or messes in the pool. It has a mesh layer on the inside so it is easy to clean out the solids, and a coated nylon layer as well to keep it from leaking. There are great prints that are suitable for a boy or girl and has those great adjustable Aplix closings.

Training Pants

Bummis makes the perfect training pant. They are waterproof on the outside to stop leaks, but the terry cloth inside lets your child know when he is wet. This makes for faster potty training. The elastic waist make them easy to pull on and off just like real underwear.<bio>Bummis makes wonderful products for your child's cloth diaper and potty training needs. These are high quality, earth friendly products that are good for your baby and easy for you to use.</bio>

Remember that time your mother warned you not to keep playing with fire and when you chose not to listen, you found out just how much it hurt? You then learned to listen to your mother more often. Just as this dynamic occurs in the natural world, it also occurs in the spiritual realm. God whispers to us everyday and it is not enough to listen, you must be obedient. Listen to your inner urgings because they are The Holy Spirit trying to tell you something. Learn to recognize your strong feelings or "gut feelings" about your day-to day life. God is trying to tell you something.

While you probably know this to be true, do you know specifically what God is asking of you? Let's take it a step further and ask the question, How do I know it's God I'm listening to?" Is this my self-talk of doubt talking or is this the voice of The Lord? You know when everything feels right and there are no inconsistencies in your emotions, thoughts, and deeds. The sooner you align your obedience with God's will, the sooner you will open up God's blessings in your life. You will know it's God speaking to you first through deep feelings (not the surface, dramatic, emotional stuff, but your profound feelings). If we choose not to listen, those deep feelings will turn into a quiet whisper from within. If you continue to be disobedient to the whisper, God usually sends a sign from outside of yourself. If you are still moving too fast or doing too much to take heed, He will send a messenger.

Maybe it's that woman you met at the grocery store who mysteriously walked up to you and referred to something as if she knew what you were dealing with. Or it could be that song on the radio at just the right time. By the time God has to send a messenger, we really haven't been listening. God reserves something for us even after we have sent His messenger packing. The something is pain and suffering. Because pain is not your natural state, it is a warning that something is wrong and you should proceed immediately in the direction opposite the pain. If you continue to allow God's requests to fall on deaf ears, we open the door to struggle and undo suffering.

How do we avoid this chain of disobedience? The answer is simple. Listen and do what God is "telling" you to do through your visions, ideas, and heart's desires. He is a God of promises and if we do our part, he will bless us immensely. Will you begin to be obedient to God's call today? What will you do first? Email me and let me know...I look forward to hearing from you!

Love, Ericka June 2006 <bio>Ericka D.
If you are going out this weekend and you are planning something extra for your date, then read the following very carefully. This is a crash course in seducing women. You might think that this is simple but bare in mind that a woman is more complicated than a man. Unfortunately, it takes more effort to seduce a woman. Now, be aware that the things I am saying would be for the first date and some things may be different as you go along the way.

When a woman is seducing a man, it is a game; when a man is seducing a woman, it is an art. So let us call this the art of seduction.

Let us tackle the main difference of the masculine and the feminine first. It has always been thought that the brain in our heads, that is heavily protected and incased by the skull, controls the thought process and all function of a human body. Well, that goes true for the feminine group but there have been studies that it may be poles apart for the masculine group. Recent studies are disputing that although the brain cells of men are indeed located in the head, the medulla oblongata has another superior that shows up and it is located further down. The exact image of this superior is yet to be discovered. Now why bring this up, some may ask? Let me give an example: if a hot woman grabs your penis it is instant seduction, but under no circumstance should you grab a woman's privates without consent. This is an instant lawsuit. That being said, the art of seduction is not going for the prize, it is the art of having a woman give her gift to you.

That being said, here are the things a man might think is seductive but in fact are not:

• Wearing too much perfume - this is more of an annoyance than a turn on. Do you know how excruciating it is to be around a person with too much artificial scent? Well take my word for it, it is.

• Being "touchy - feely" - unless you are really close and you hit it of on the initial glance, then you would just look like a maniac trying to get some.

• Do not go for her boobs or vagina on the firsts date - need I explain this?

• Talking dirty - unless initiated by the girl please refrain from this, you will have your share it everything goes good for the night.

I think we have covered the basic "no's" so let us get to the art of seduction:

• Make sure you have showered and your breath is fresh

• Be on time or early - it is better for you to wait than have her wait.

• Start the date by giving her a single rose or a flower she likes. (it is always safe to go with a rose if you are not sure what she likes)

• Be a gentleman - this makes her feel you respect her and it will be easier for her to trust you.

• Put your arm at the right place at the right time - when you are crossing a street or when you are walking and it feels the right mood. Make sure it is not so low that you are going for her ass or not too high to make her feel she's just your buddy.

• Whisper - now limit this to one. When it is appropriate, like when you are in a noise place, give her a whisper. The trick is make it close that your lips are barely touching her ear and make sure that what you are saying makes sense

Seem simple? All there are effective ways and are the basics of the art of seduction. And the few things I have reveled would be the foundation of the more advanced art of seduction.<bio>Want a FREE Award Winning guide on How To Get Women Quickly?
Words whispered into your lover's ears will have a wonderfully stimulating effect. Due to the fact that the ears are full of nerve endings, whispering sweet nothings will not only bring pleasure in response to your sugary words, but will excite the erogenous zones.

Sweet nothings are words that are full of love and romance, gently whispered into your lover's ears. Women respond greatly to sweet nothings and having their necks kissed. When cuddling and embracing, try adding sweet nothings to increase and heighten the romantic atmosphere.

Gently blowing in the ears, and whispering will bring arousal and pleasure, and is an important aspect of foreplay. Not only can you whisper in the ears, but also try kissing, licking, and sucking on earlobes for added excitement. If you have always wanted to whisper sweet nothings in your lover's ears, but didn't' know what to say, here are some romantic quotations and phrases that you can use.

Sweet Nothings:

=95You have captured my heart =95Hear my words as I tell you how much I love you =95You are the only one for me =95You're beautiful =95The night belongs to us alone =95You're lips are as red as the most vibrant rose =95You're hair is softer than the finest silk =95You're eyes sparkle brighter then the stars =95I'm yours forever =95I'll never stop loving you =95You are always on my mind =95I can't stop thinking of you =95You have filled the void in my heart =95You complete me =95My love for you will burn forever =95My heart beats for you =95I'm hungry for you love =95Only your kisses satisfy my soul =95Can you feel my passion =95Don't you know I long for you =95You're the lover of my soul =95I crave your touch =95My heart longs for you =95You are my desire =95I will never love another =95You are breath taking =95You take my breath away =95You are an angel from heaven =95I give you my heart, forever =95When we touch I melt in your arms =95I long to taste the sweetness of your lips =95Your love is better than wine =95I am drunk with your love =95I am honored to be loved by you =95I adore you =95I desire your embrace =95Hold me close and never let me go =95You are my one true passion =95I am passionately in love with you =95I long to caress you =95My heart belongs to you =95I can't stop thinking of you =95Your love is the drink that quenches my soul =95You satisfy me =95I hunger for your touch =95I need you, now

Using any of these phrases or coming up with your own will have excellent results. Though women may differ in regards to how much they like their ears kissed or nibbled on, all women respond to sweet nothings. <bio>Ron Zvagelsky has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Horses often become dead to the aids over time. They are not as responsive and get bored of what they are doing under saddle. Sometimes this can be corrected under saddle, but often a horse becomes hard in the mouth, or otherwise will not listen to a rider. In this situation, it can be useful to tune him up on the longe line.

Proper longing for training should always be done in full tack. Tack up your horse as you usually would before longing him. If you can, tie up the stirrups so that they do not bang on his sides. The longe line should not be attached to one side of the bit. Instead it should go through the near ring, over the poll, and clip onto the far ring of the bit.

It is safest to longe in an enclosed area. A longing ring or round pen is best, but an arena will work just as well. The important thing is that your horse cannot break away from you and escape, and that the walls will help you to balance and contain your horse.

The most common problem with horses who are dead to the aids is that they expect the same thing every time. They have decided that it isn't worth listening any more, because they already know what to expect. You need to break this mentality by asking your horse to do the unexpected. The easiest way to do this is with transitions.

Start out by asking your horse for basic transitions. Ask him for halt/walk/halt transitions, being firm with your aids, and not allowing him to get away with wandering after you ask for the transition. Use your whip to encourage him to move on immediately after you ask for the upwards transition. Do not allow him to poke along in his walk, but encourage him to step lively.

As soon as possible, start mixing things up by adding trot/walk/trot transitions. You should vary how long your horse is allowed to trot, keeping a minimum of 4 strides, and a maximum of a full time around the ring between transitions. Once your horse starts anticipating the trot transitions, mix it up by asking for a halt instead. Always try to choose the transition your horse least expects. This way he will need to listen to you, instead of purely doing his own thing.

Mix things up even further by adding trot/canter/trot transitions, once again limiting how long the canter is. If your horse anticipates the downward transition by slowing his gait, ask him to pick up more pace and canter several times around the ring.

Another technique is to add some more difficult transitions such as the trot/halt/trot and the walk/canter/walk.

The more you mix it up, the more your horse will have to listen to you.

Finally, you need to transfer these lessons on the longe line to working under saddle. While riding, start asking your horse for more transitions. Do not let him get away with slow transitions. Use a crop if necessary to get his attention. The rule is "whisper", "tell", "demand". Your first aids should always be feather light, but don't be afraid to use more force if your horse doesn't listen.

By mixing things up, you are returning the authority of the ride to yourself. You will be the one in charge, and your horse will need to listen in order to know what to do. Eventually, it will only take a whisper to get your horse's attention, and you will have a far more pleasant ride.<bio>Lydia K Kelly is a writer for HorseClicks, classifieds of horses for sale New Jersey, horses for sale New Mexico, horses for sale New York and other states.
The problems of next week would have to wait until this week was done. Nothing would ruin this weekend. Lulled in comfort, I must have dozed off because the next thing I heard was Marla saying, "We should be there soon. What would you like to do when we arrive? Would you prefer to rest for a while or get involved in island life right away? It'll be a few hours before Gideon arrives."

"I'm looking forward to a wonderful weekend, Marla," I said as I stretched and yawned. "Doesn't really matter what we do. Is there anything special you have in mind?" I was somewhat embarrassed that I had fallen asleep.

"No," she said,"just doing whatever you want would be fine with me. I've been here many times before.Remember, I can go anywhere, anywhen. But traveling this way is sometimes so much fun."

I hoped she wasn't reading my mind at this moment because I caught myself thinking of a few hedonistic things I'd really like to do. She looked up at me and smiled as if she heard my thoughts. Quietly we sat there until I leaned over and gently kissed her cheek. "Thank you," I said, "thanks to both of you for making all this possible."

"Don't mention it," she said in an almost inaudible whisper."I think it's rather, well . . . let's see, special and appropriate. You deserve all good things."

Soon we were on the ground in an enchanting, tropical isle. We quickly cleared local immigration and were on our way when I heard hurried footsteps from behind and turned to see a man rushing toward us, waving his hands. "Who's that, Marla? He seems to know us," I pointed. She stopped and looked back as the man rushed up. Then she smiled a smile of recognition and said, "Oh, it's our driver. He'll take us to the hotel."

To read the rest of the story visit http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com <bio>Lecturer, entrepreneur and MBA business consultant, John Harricharan is the author of the award-winning book, "When You Can Walk on Water, Take the Boat."
"Never forget," said Gideon, "that the magic is not only in you, but all around you. This Universe is a magical Universe and was designed for our enjoyment and growth. You change your world by changing the way you look at it. It's all a matter of perception and attitudes. We'll meet whenever you want to and chat about things that are important to you. Call on either or both of us and we'll be there. From now on, so long as you always re- member that the Presence is with you, your life will flow in trailing clouds of glory from God Who is your home."

"How about some more coffee?" I offered. I was so overwhelmed, it was all I could think of saying at the moment.

"No, thank you," said Gideon.

"Not for me, either," replied Marla.

Suddenly it had become extremely still around us. Not even a whisper in the wind could be heard. Without warning, the detonating sound of thunder exploded. Instinctively I blinked and in that split-second I found myself alone, holding my half-empty cup of coffee. Gideon and Marla had vanished. I rose from my seat and walked into the kitchen. There,in the sink, I found their coffee cups. Somewhat awe-struck, I stood staring at nothing in particular. "In trailing clouds of glory. . . ." The words echoed through the hallways and ricocheted off the walls of my mind as I went about preparing dinner.

Now, dear reader, as you and I arrive at this point, perhaps, it's a good time to consider, without a doubt, that each of us has been led here to reflect on this simple truth =97 Although our beginnings may end and our endings begin again, throughout all eternity we will be journeying in the everlasting Fields of Forever.

To read the rest of the story visit http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com <bio>Lecturer, entrepreneur and MBA business consultant, John Harricharan is the author of the award-winning book, "When You Can Walk on Water, Take the Boat."
As a little girl did you sew all your Barbie doll clothes? Did you have mock fashion shows with your friends? If you did you were of course the fashion show producer. You picked the clothes your friends wore in the show and gave them runway tips. Perhaps you were the style-setter in school always in the latest fashion.

These are just a very few ways that fashion designers start showcasing their abilities in their youth. They are inexplicably attracted to fashion and all it's components. While most of us see a jacket and think andquot;nice jacketandquot;, a fashion designer takes it apart bit by bit, breaking it down to it's rawest components of color, cut, fabric, design and ornamentation. They have an intuitive understanding of how it all pulls together. They consider it andquot;funandquot; and love to andquot;playandquot; with clothing.

One of my favorite designers is Carolina Herrera. At a young age it's said she liked to andquot;playandquot; with clothing. Born into a wealthy family Carolina was surrounded by things of beauty. Her sense of style was instilled at a very young age. She obviously continues to carry the sense of elegance that surrounded her in her youth into her life and her fashion design.

Her fashion designs are always timeless and classic. Carolina learned about fashion at an early age from her mother and other glorious women around her. She was surrounded by couture fashion growing up and attended her first fashion show at the age of 13. >From her mother Carolina learned that less is more, and this is what gives her fashion designs an aura of mystery and sensuality. Carolina Herrera's fashion designs speak in a whisper and you know exactly what they're saying.

Although most of us don't grow up in a fairy tale world like Carolina, if you have a real talent and a desire to join in the fashion world there are many opportunities available. An education is essential to enter the world of fashion design. <bio>To learn more about fashion design schools please visit http://www.schoolguideusa.com/ny-fashion-schools.html </bio>

I try not to care, but -- "

"-- Poor Georgy-Porgy, I can't bear to see you feel so low."

"Then, please, cheer me up."

"Did you say 'up'?"

"Yes, dear. Whisper in my ear once again those sweet words only you know how."

"Of course, dear."

"Then tell me, how is my approval rating?"

"It couldn't be higher."

Really? But do you just approve of me? Or do you approve of me more than you ever did?"

"How could you doubt me? Of course, I approve of you more than ever."

"Wow, what a high. I'm feeling better already. Still, sometimes I can't help thinking that things over in Baghdaddy aren't going as well as I'd like."

"I know, dear. But how can you be blamed for what's going on way over there. How were you to know those idiotic Iraqis would decide to destroy their own country? All you wanted to do is free them from that awful dictator your dad decided not to free them from when he was at the doorway to Saddam's palaces."

"No way I could ever have guessed what kind of stew I was jumping into. And to think: all I wanted to do is implement freedom, democracy, and other more or less Western values."

"You only had intentions that should score high in the polls."

"You're right, Laura. And intentions are what count. To heck with results. They're a darn nuisance. I'm feeling better already."

"I'm so glad, sweetheart."

"So tell me, Laura, just to make me feel 100%. Is my rating with you at an all-time high?"

"Yes, George, it is. And just to prove it, look." She held up her hand as high as she could, pointed to it, and said, "Hi."

"That high?"

"Even hi'er." Then she stood up on her toes and, reaching till her arm hurt, said, "Hi, hi, hi-er still!"

"Thanks, Laura. That looks like higher than ever to me." <bio>Tom Attea, humorist and creator of http://NewsLaugh.com, has had six shows produced Off-Broadway.
If you are trying to find the expresso machine that is best for you, you will first have to decide which are the features that are the most important to you. With all of the expresso models out there, even many models from the same manufacturer, it will be hard to choose among all of them. Even for the experts who own fancy coffee houses, with all of their knowledge about what should be the best expresso machine and the ability to compare notes with others in the field, it is difficult to have to understand what they want since so many new models come out all the time. If they have a hard time, what about us poor ordinary consumers?

One of the most important things you want to consider in an expresso machine is the built in grinder. Freshly ground coffee is important to good expresso. Many of these machines will have a grind dial that will allow you to fine-tune the density of the grind. If you machine does not have a built in grinder, you will have to make sure you grind your coffee to match the expresso machine. If your machine is set too low, for a mocha or drip brewing grind, you will have to keep experimenting until you find the right consistency for your expresso machine. The recommended ratio is w ounces of expresso from the beaker in about 27 seconds.

A good machine should be able to stand a grind that is a little too thick, so don;t be afraid to experiment. A good expresso machine will not jam if the grinds are too coarse or too fine. The really high quality machines will have a check valve. This allows the the machine to have a higher tolerance for finer grinds that require higher pressure. Until you find the right grind for your machine, you may not get the best results. There is a certain pressure necessary for the best extraction, and if it is too high, you will have a bitter cup of coffee.

Sound levels are another good barometer of a fine expresso machine. The best machines are quiet, as low as a whisper. If you can't carry on a normal conversation near the machine, it is too loud, and consequently not of good quality. This will let you tell your friends about your great new expresso machine. <bio>Johnathan Bakers is publishing essentially for http://www.coffee-espresso-maker-tips.com , a web page on coffee and cappuccino. With his publications like http://www.coffee-espresso-maker-tips.com/expresso-machines.html ,the reviewer confirmed his experience on topics related to expresso machines. </bio>

"If you're referring to their physical qualities, John, that wasn't the reason. Physical attributes change. A beauty today may not be a beauty tomorrow. There is something much more important than physical characteristics. It's something of the spirit. Coming from deep within, its expression overshadows everything else. It's an attraction of the soul, that invisible part of you that has always been and always will be. That's how it was with Peter, the stock- broker and Carlos, the minstrel. Their spirits radiated light to such an extent that I was drawn to the beauty of their souls." Marla became quite still for a few moments as we sat there, side by side, looking out to sea.

To break the silence, I said,"I see. You bring into your experience, those who are similar to you. Then there is the matter of choices. There was nothing wrong with your wanting to be with them. Then why then did you give it all up?"

She leaned toward me and answered in a voice so soft that it was almost a whisper. "It was a situation of . . . let's see . .. . `Ships passing in the night.' Somewhat similar to you and Kimberly. I should have known that it was time to move on. For some of us there is one relationship that lasts an eternity. For others, relationships may last for only a short while. Each makes a choice. Each chooses his or her own destiny. I had to go on. I had work to do and worlds to see."

"I guess it's like everything else," I said. "Too focused and too much of a narrow view and you're in trouble. Not focused at all, with desires running all over the place, you're still in trouble. The old `moderation in all things,' or the need for balance, right?"

"To a certain degree, yes," she answered. "But there are other factors involved. As we learn the one secret of the universe we begin to find ourselves and, in doing so, we begin to understand, accept and live happier, more fulfilled lives."

"Every once in a while though, don't you think of Carlos or Peter? Don't you miss them or wonder how your life would've been had you decided to stay with them?"

To read the rest of the story visit http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com <bio>Lecturer, entrepreneur and MBA business consultant, John Harricharan is the author of the award-winning book, "When You Can Walk on Water, Take the Boat."
Those of you who know me are aware that I wasn't raised with Love and Logic. My dad had his own special parenting program. It was called "My Way or the Highway." When I complained to my childhood friends that my dad bossed me around and made a household slave out of me, I was told how lucky I was because that's what loving parents were supposed to do. When he said, "Sit down and shut up," I sat down and shut up.

Needless to say I grew up knowing nothing else and tried to use the same techniques on my own child. Unfortunately, when I said, "Sit down and shut up," my kids didn't sit down and shut up. They said, "We're calling Social Services. We have rights." The parenting style my dad used so effectively didn't work on kids a generation later. I also had a hard time getting his style to work for me as a classroom teacher. I was fortunate enough to discover some new skills that worked better. But they only worked when I remembered to use them. Unfortunately that wasn't often enough. I was getting frustrated.

Then a wonderful thing happened. I was given a challenge by a good counselor. This person challenged me to run an experiment. It was an experiment in which I was to repeat a phrase over and over. This phrase was, "When I get angry, I'm going to whisper. When I get angry, I'm going to whisper." It was suggested that I do this just before falling asleep. I remember her telling me to repeat this phrase 30 times each night for 30 days.

I was impressed when she told me that I didn't have a lot of control over whether or not I got angry, but I did have control over how I acted when I got angry. At the time I thought this was just some more of that 1970's psychobabble, but I was desperate, so I gave it a try.

To my surprise, after a few weeks, I found myself thinking about his phrase during the day. And then one day, to my utter amazement, I found myself getting angry with one of my kids and realized that I was whispering instead of yelling. Wow!

Needless to say, this caused a big change in my life. It launched my study about the way people can adopt new attitudes and reactions.

A QUESTION FOR YOU

Are you ever frustrated or disappointed with the way you've reacted to your child? Do you ever say to yourself, "I know better than that. I love that kid too much to do that," or "I've learned new parenting techniques, but I just don't remember to use them when I need them the most?" If you answer yes to these questions then join the human race. We all have these moments. This is normal human behavior.

Our normal reactions are just habits. They are habits that were programmed into that magic computer called our subconscious mind. This programming took place years ago when we were young. It was the result of viewing and hearing the repetitive behaviors we saw in our parents. The scientific name for these reactions is "conditioned response."

Our minds are filled with these conditioned responses. In fact, I've read studies claiming 88% of human thinking and reacting comes right out of our subconscious minds. That leaves only 12% for conscious thinking and reasoning.

What a scary thought, right? Not really. These conditioned reactions make it possible for us to move smoothly through our lives. They only get in the way when we try to make changes in the way we do things.

Parenting, like most of our daily behaviors, is governed by habit or conditioning. Even when we've learned new skills and want to change, we often automatically revert to our old habits. So yes, it can be troublesome to make the leap from knowing how to do something to actually making it a new habit.

A WAY TO OVERRIDE OLD HABITS

Hypnosis or self-hypnosis can help us program new reactions into our subconscious mind.

How does this happen? Let's go back to see how these original habits were formed. This involves looking at the different circumstances in which the subconscious mind is open to accepting the messages that are sent to it.

Generally the conscious mind serves as a filter for the subconscious. It protects it, keeping the subconscious from being overloaded. But there are three unique times when the conscious mind has a hard time warding off the messages that are sent to the subconscious.

The first situation is during the early years of life. This is a time when the conscious mind is not fully developed. Since this filter is not fully developed, external messages burrow directly into the subconscious. They quickly become the child's reality. Many of our conditioned responses come from this time of life. This is especially true of those that have to do with parenting.

The second condition in which the conscious filter doesn't protect the subconscious is under extreme stress. At this time the filter becomes overloaded. It is so overwhelmed with both external and internal messages that it allows messages to bypass the filter, burrowing directly into the subconscious. This can often result in what we know as post-traumatic stress disorder.

The third situation in which this filter is not active is during the highly relaxed state of hypnosis. At this time the filter seems to feel no need to be protective. It becomes so relaxed that it allows the subconscious to take over.

This is that special time when people can examine the messages that have been stored there and have become habits. It is a time to build new conditioned responses. There is no magic to it. During times of hypnosis people are in total control, but relaxed enough to accept new attitudes and understandings. It is a time when we can build new responses.

We all experience a hypnotic state at least twice a day, once as we are waking up and again as we drift off to sleep. If, at any time during the day, you happen to be engrossed in a television program or a good book, that is a hypnotic state. Another everyday example of a hypnotic state is driving somewhere, only to realize upon arriving, that you don't remember anything about the actual trip. Your conscious mind was focused on things other than driving. Your subconscious took over control of the car and the road. We call this "road hypnosis."

Hypnosis is the intentional use of this naturally occurring state of awareness. When you are in this state, your subconscious mind is much more open to accepting suggestions. This can be used to your advantage when you make a conscious choice about the suggestions or "programming" that you allow in. By deliberately choosing suggestions that are in your best interest, as well as ones that are in line with your goals, you gain access to your own subconscious and become master of your own reactions.

This is the process that the counselor taught me to use years ago when she challenged me to repeat, "When I get mad, I'm going to whisper." I didn"t understand the science behind it at that time, but I soon came to appreciate the power of repetitive statements while in a very relaxed state.

Hypnotic suggestions often begin immediately to have the desired effects. However, most of the time, multiple exposures to the suggestions are required. This can be accomplished with the help of a therapist, or by listening to audio recorded sessions.

If you would like to make use of recorded sessions, go to the Love and Logic website. You will find a recording titled, "MAKING LOVE AND LOGIC A LIFETIME HABIT." This is a downloadable audio recording that will help you the way that counselor helped me years ago.

Using this recording you will experience the voice of Hartley Acero. Hartley is a professional hypnotist. She will help you develop a wonderful feeling of relaxation and calm. After you have reached that relaxed state, she will help you examine your feelings about your child and allow you to begin the process of turning your new Love and Logic beliefs and techniques into lifelong habits.

Listen to this recording often. Even if you have no intention of changing the ways you parent, you will find that it will do wonders toward reducing the stress of everyday life. Those stresses can melt away and you will experience a new sense of well being and calm.<bio>Jim Fay, one of America's most sought-after presenters in the fields of parenting and school discipline, and Kristan Leatherman co-authored "Millionaire Babies or Bankrupt Brats?," the newest book from the Love and Logic Institute, Inc.
Choosing a restaurant for your date is somewhat like going on a treasure hunt. With some forethought and careful planning you could find the perfect restaurant and strike gold!

When choosing a restaurant for your date, remember you are looking for romance, excitement and passion! Look for a restaurant that has a romantic ambience and offers you a delightful mix of fine dining, low lighting and some smooth jazz to spice things up a bit.

Specialty restaurants that have unique dishes they are well-known for are a great choice, provided of course you know your date's special likes and dislikes. Avoid a potential dating snafu by asking about preferences upfront. Taking a sushi-hater to a Japanese restaurant could be an unmitigated disaster. On the other hand if you found out that your date loves sushi, booking a cozy table at a specialty Japanese restaurant could win you huge, ummm=85 sushi points. It shows you care and have gone out of your way to please your date. Avoid going to restaurants that are famous for their lobster or rib dishes. Struggling with your food is decidedly unromantic.

You are definitely not looking for comfort on your date so avoid taking your date to your regular hang-out. You may feel at ease among familiar surroundings and familiar faces, but it's kind of hard to be romantic with so many eyes looking over at your table trying to catch your attention. Besides your date cannot but help wondering how many previous dates you've brought here before.

Lighting can do a lot to detract from or add to the romantic ambience of the restaurant. Low strategic lighting boosted by a candle placed on each table is a huge plus point. Gazing into each other's eyes over candle-light is tres romantic.

Live music is great for upping the romantic atmosphere. Look for a restaurant that has a live band that plays soft music, classy tunes and romantic melodies. Avoid restaurants that play loud, blaring music. You'll never get a chance to whisper sweet nothings in your date's ears with all that noise around you. Also steer clear of wandering violin serenaders and mariachi bands that pop up at your table at the most inopportune moments. <bio>Find raleigh restaurants at our raleigh restaurant site: http://www.dinewithusclub.com </bio>

You need to know what features are most important on a machine when looking for which espresso machines would best suit your needs. There are many espresso machines out there, with many manufacturers producing various makes and models. Upscale coffee houses use their wealth of knowledge and what their associates in the business say to discover which espresso machines are the best. Even they though, need some help when new makes and models are introduced to the market. What should a consumer do? Continue reading to find out.

One feature to look for in an espresso machine is the built-in grinder. These machines tend to have a special grind dial as well to help you the level of coarseness your grind produces. If you don't have a built-in grinder, then you will need to calibrate your separate bean grinder machine to correspond with your new espresso machine. Many of these grinder machines come preset to a certain grind, such as for a French press or automatic drip brewer, which may be too coarse. It may take several tries, and several shots of espresso before you achieve the grind that's perfect for your machine. Espresso experts suggest that two ounces of espresso be pulled between 17 and 23 seconds from a double basket.

If you're having trouble doing this grind test, bear in mind that good machines should be able to tolerate a variation in the coarseness of grinds. You can tell which espresso machines are the highest quality because they won't get clogged by grinds that are slightly too fine or too coarse. The finest machines have a safety valve that gives the machines a higher tolerance to force water through grinds that require more pressure, such as finer grinds. The espresso that is produced may not taste as good if the grind is not exact. Industry research has shown that there is an ideal pressure for extraction. Higher pressures from too-fine grinds can result in the shot taking too long to pull, which will result in espresso that is too strong and bitter. Grinding the beans too coarse will result in shots that finished too quickly, with a weak flavor and color.

Another thing that can indicate which espresso machines are highest quality is how loud the machine is. Premium brands should be relatively quiet. The best make of espresso machine is at the decibels of a whisper--in other words, a very low decibel. A good rule of thumb is that you should be able to carry out a normal volume of conversation while your machine pulls a shot. That way, you can tell all your friends how fantastic your machine is before they taste it for themselves. <bio>Richard Brown writes for several web sites, especially http://products-help.com and http://devob.com </bio>

Whisper it quietly, but there are certain members within the Villa Park faithful anticipating great things under Martin O'Neill.

Without wishing to tempt fate, Aston Villa's impressive start to the season is hopefully an indication of things to come under the often eccentric Irishman.

A combination of O'Neill's eye for talent, in tandem with the vast wealth of new American owner Randy Lerner could be the catalyst for success Villa fans everywhere have been dreaming about.

With an almost identical squad that David O'Leary had at his disposal, Martin O'Neill has instigated a quite remarkable turnaround in fortunes.

Playing a formation that incorporates two out and out wingers in local lads Luke Moore and Gabriel Agbonlahor, O'Neill has instilled an attacking instinct in his players and brought about an exciting brand of football.

Villa's fans currently watch their side in a state of disbelief following last season's insipid and colourless mix of football.

The game itself was an entertaining affair with both teams putting emphasise on attack.

Opening exchanges were end to end but it was Villa who opened the scoring as early as the forth minute.

A whipped cross from the left was met with a bullet header from Mellberg on the six yard box.

The point blank header from the Villa defender was superbly saved by Roy Carol only for Liam Ridgewell to bundle the ball over the line from close range.

Villa continued to create chances as the half wore on, the closest being an Angel header that crashed back off the crossbar.

West Ham hit back early in the second half, a corner converted by the in-form Bobby Zamora.

The Hammers sent on new Argentinean striker Tevez, but despite some clever touches he was unable to break a solid looking Villa defence.

Villa debutant Petrov came closest to grabbing a winner with a delicate lob over the goalkeeper that was hooked off the line. <bio>Steven Cronin writes the hottest English Premiership Football news, results and opinion at http://www.sargas.co.uk/english_premiership_football </bio>

To understand the ghost of fear, let me tell you a short parable:

Once upon a time, Jake and Fear were friends. Fear was Jake's constant companion, and Fear helped him a lot. Fear saved him from lots of troubles and dangers, and helped him choose right paths and ways in his life.

Whenever Jake would carelessly go with the wrong company of "friends" or make a very careless decision, Fear would butt in and remind him of his father's counsels and admonitions. When walking right in danger's path, Fear would whisper a word of warning to dissuade him from proceeding.

Fear would also tell him the proper behavior when Jake was in front of the elderly and other people in authority. Fear would give him the ability to do and say only the respectful and kind words to people. Fear would also tell him to be polite and humble when there was a conflict with people he was related with. In short, Fear has been helping him to keep out of troubles and dangers. Fear was really a friend. Jake liked Fear's company.

Then one day, Jake met Doubt. Doubt seemed very concerned and sincere about Jake. Doubt said his closeness to Fear was remarkable -- but alarming. Doubt threw lies about Fear, distorting the truth that Jake knew about Fear. Worse, Doubt said Fear was actually taking him to a perilous direction, with Jake being unaware.

Jake asked Fear about the things Doubt told him. They had some discussions that somehow went a bit sour. They parted ways with some misunderstandings.

Then one day, Jake heard that Fear had suddenly died.

Doubt lost no time in scaring Jake about Fear. Doubt said that Fear's premature death and his unsettled "dispute" with Jake might cause Fear to come back from the dead. Thus, the ghost of fear started to haunt Jake. He would remember the times when Fear accompanied him and warned him of bad things. But this time, he feared the voice of Fear.

The more Jake listened to Doubt, the worse he became afraid of Fear. Fear seemed to be no longer a friend, but a spooky entity that sought his destruction.

End of the parable.

The best way to "exorcize" or get rid of these "ghosts" of fear is to make fear somehow a friend again. You can use your fear to help you if you face the truth about it. Your negative imagination creates your ghosts. A crazy imagination is good if you use it to create a "friendly" ghost. This is what I recommend.

The book of Proverbs states: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." <bio>Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world!
