There are times when even the most well organized closet is just not big enough. You may have to consider portable storage.

This may sound odd but it works. Portable storage closets have been around for years. As kids we called them wardrobes. Some were made of metal. Others were made of wood. There were some made of heavy gage vinyl. These were the ones you could see through.

Times are changing. Spaces and people have not. The portable storage closet is still around and stronger than ever. You can now get them in a durable plastic as well as the wood, metal, and vinyl. These movable closets are great for storing just about anything. There is even a portable storage closet offered at outdoor sports stores for hunters to keep unnatural odors off their hunting equipment. It is called the Scent-lok closet.

Closets have become big business. The portable storage closet is no exception. This is due to its versatility. You can put them in the attic or basement. You can even use them in the garage. They are great when company comes in from out of town. The space the portable closet can fill up just as quickly as a regular closet.

Storing out of season clothes is a breeze with a portable unit.

All the winter coats can go in one. Some of the more durable ones have shelves. This offers even more storage ideas. The entire set of Christmas decorations can be stored in one unit. It can be rolled to the garage each year and rolled back in when you need it again. They make the perfect way to organize anything.

It is possible to find portable storage closets anywhere. They are great for the class room or office. You can keep everything organized. Craft supplies can be stored for easy access. Sewing and other needle work supplies are safe in the units. These movable systems can even be used in the garage for organizing summer items or winter items.

The gardener in the family will love a portable closet for storage. Pots and other small gardening tools can fit nicely on the shelves. Seeds or potting soil can be stored in an orderly fashion. Some of the systems even have a tall section perfect for your rake, shovel, or hoe. The durable plastic ones can even be set outside by the garden.

If your garage is like most, you have a hard time getting your cars into it because of all of the stuff, bicycles, footballs, soccer balls, lawn chairs, Christmas yard decorations, and the list goes on. Set up a couple of portable closet storage systems along one wall can make quick work of storing most of the stuff that is on the garage floor. Who knows, you might be able to fit your car in the garage again.

Smaller portable storage closets can be used when trying to organize a walk-in closet. Some even may work with the system you plan on installing. You can always store the things from the closet until you get the system built. Investing in a portable storage closet may be perfect for someone who needs extra space and just can not seem to find it

wilhelm at bestclosetorganizerguide.com <bio>Ideas for small closet organization by visiting http://www.bestclosetorganizerguide.com, a popular closet organizing web site filled tips, ideas and advice including modular closet organizers for the disabled and closet organization ideas for the child's bedroom. </bio>

Using closet organizers to straighten the mess in your closets. The best way to go about the project of organizing your closets.

The concept of closet organizers is so that you can use the space in your closets more efficiently. Today, you can purchase entire closet organizer systems that maximize every square inch of your closet so that you can get a lot more storage space out of it.

The first step in using a closet organizer is to measure the closet inside. If there are already shelves and rods and you want to keep them measure the spaces between them so you can plan the organizer around them. Then you have to decide what kind of storage you want. What you are going to store decides the kind of organizing pieces you use. Once you know the size you need, and what you will be storing, head to a big store or a hardware store and you will sure find a wide assortment of closet organizers.

With your measurements in hand, find someone in the department who can help you with your plan. There are so many choices, that you will really want to talk to someone who knows them all and can help you choose. Today, you not only have a wide assortment of organizers, you will also have a wide assortment of materials to choose from. There is a design and material that will probably best suit what you need, and the specialist will be able to recommend it. You may also have to be concerned with your budget, and today's variety and materials can easily tempt you to spend too much if you are not careful. If you decide ahead of time how much you want to spend, pick the most basic components first and then move on with any leftover money.

It is really very easy to install closet organizers. You will have to do some assembly, but nothing too complicated. Most of them just require you to slide one piece into another, but you may need a screwdriver and a little muscle to get the whole thing put together. If you are doing a big, complicated job, you may want to consider hiring a professional to install your closet organizer. If it is a complicated system, it may not be that easy to fit in, and an expert will be able to get it in just right. <bio>Adam Peters is the copywriter of http://www.home-decorating-reviews.com .
What girl does not dream of having her very own walk-in closet? A room where she can be surrounded by all the things she loves: clothes, shoes, bags and other accessories. It is a bit of heaven on earth. While most dismiss the thought of having their very own walk-in wardrobe as an extravagance that they could live without, walk-in closets may be practical, affordable and easy to set up in reality.

Setting up a walk-in closet requires a lot of patience and requires minimal technical skills. In fact, the most important skill you would need in setting up your own walk-in closet is your measuring skills. The first thing you need to do in setting up your walk-in closet is not necessarily measuring the area where you want to set up your walk-in closet. The first thing you have to do is make an inventory of all you clothes, shoes and accessories. This will give you a good idea of the size of your shelves, the length of your clothes rack, and the amount of space that would sufficiently house your closet. Only after doing this can you start measuring the area for your closet. After getting the dimensions of your walk-in closet, you can draw a layout of how you want your closet to be.

Once you have a good idea of what you want your closet to look like, shop around for closet components or systems that suits your aesthetic taste and your budget. You can go as high end as wood components or closet systems or as cheap as wire mesh components or closet systems. All types of closet components or systems in the market today work fairly well differing only on the look and feel of the material. Just bear in mind that they have basically the same function. You can install the closet components or closet systems yourself to cut back on costs. Most, if not all, closet systems and components come with easy-to-follow installation guides or manuals.

After setting up your closet system or components, you can install other furniture or fixtures that would make your walk-in closet look its best. You can paint your favorite shade on your closet components or system, as well as the closet's walls. You can also replace existing lighting with halogen or incandescent lamps that tend to flatter your skin tone. You may even want to think about setting up a full-length mirror or a vanity in one area of your walk-in closet. An ottoman in the closet is also a good idea. It serves as additional seating space and doubles as a place where you can lay out your clothes. If you really want to pamper yourself, you can add an area rug or fill the entire space with wall-to-wall carpeting. Don't forget about storage. There are many storage containers to choose from. They come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and materials. These storage containers are very important items to have in your walk-in closet because they keep clutter at bay. They make everything easy to organize and store.

The next time you find yourself dreaming about your very own walk-in closet, take action and build it. It is easier than you think. <bio>James Brown writes about http://www.diydealsdiscounts.com </bio>

When deciding to remodel an old home or decorate a new house, there are many things to consider. Many people often forget about the doors in their homes, and instead focus on other design elements such as carpeting and floors, wall paint, light fixtures, and curtains.

Doors are an essential part of the home--you go in and out of doors every day, you open and shut doors all the time. Doors can both add to and detract from the beauty, harmony, and sophistication of a house, so do give them just as much consideration as you give the carpet and the walls.

In the modern day, there is a strong trend toward using interior glass doors instead of wooden doors due to glass's beauty, sophisticated look, and its ability to let light travel from room to room.

A well-lit, cheerful house has been proven to keep up your mood, fight depression, and help you become more productive, because your body and brain naturally work better when you're happier.

Interior glass doors can be used for many things--they can lead to the outside as patio or deck doors, while allowing plenty of light into the back rooms of your home.

They can lead from room to room (and even to the bathroom--but you may want to consider using a frosted glass door, which is translucent but still allows light through), and will create a wonderfully well-lit atmosphere if you use only glass doors.

Interior glass doors are also often used for the shower, though those doors are generally frosted glass or textured in some way to make them translucent.

However, having glass shower doors is wonderful, because it allows plenty of light to pour into the shower when you are inside, instead of suffering the darkness caused by a shower curtain.

Interior glass doors can even be used on cabinets and closets. Cabinets usually require a thinner, though unbreakable, glass; because glass is not like wood (which allows for easy hinges and nails), you may want to consider sliding cabinet doors if you are indeed going to use interior glass doors for your cabinets.

Glass doesn't usually work very well with hinges, so rail systems will have to do the trick. You can also try revolving cabinet doors, and that will add a creative, splendidly elegant design to your home.

Closets often also use interior glass doors, though usually glass doors are reserved for larger, usually walk-in, closets, as the door must be slid to the side in order to access the contents of the closet.

When selecting the interior glass doors to grace your home, be sure to obtain the correct size measurement, and stick with a thickness of about 20 mm for outside doors, and about 10 to 15 mm for interior glass doors. Interior glass doors will add a touch of daylight and happiness into your home, and you will be sure not to regret having installed them.<bio>Specialty doors offers many types of doors including interior doors and interior glass doors for homes, lofts, condos, or apartments.</bio>

Do you know someone who is always dropping his or her clothes on the floor instead of taking the time and trouble to hang them up (or do you have a teenager who does so)?

Have you worn something once that's not dirty enough to throw in the laundry but not clean enough to tuck back into drawers or closets with clean clothes?

Do you know someone who lacks the closet space to hang family coats or other clothing up, even though he or she could really use some?

Do you know someone who lacks the funds or space to put extra closets in his or her existing house?

And what about Christmas gifts? Are you on a tight budget?

Are you unsure what to get the "guy who has everything"?

Well, the great solution for all of these things is a coat rack. Coat hooks are inexpensive, lightweight, space-saving solutions for all of these problems and more. And unlike closets or even heavy wardrobes, you can move them wherever you need them without breaking a sweat. Or, use a wall coat rack (or hang one off the back of a door) when floor space is at a minimum.

In addition, coat racks come in just about every color or design under the sun and are available in metal or wood, so you can get one to fit any decor, from modern to classic. They even come in special designs for children, such as the Spiderman coat rack. What a great way to get your little guy to hang up his clothes at night before he goes to bed. Simply do an online search with whatever keywords fit your description, such as "Spiderman coat rack," and see what you come up with. Do you know somebody who just never seems to have enough storage space? A coat rack with attached shelving is a great way to give that person an extra "closet" without the mess or expense installing one takes, and unlike closets, doesn't require extra room; simply and easily accessible wall will do. Do you know someone who just never seems to be able to get themselves ready on time in the morning? Then maybe a coat rack with built-in mirror, complete with bench so he or she can sit down and put on shoes, is a nice option. They can use it to simply hang out their clothes the night before, so there's no rummaging around in the closet in the morning, and cut down on the time it takes to get ready. The built-in mirror provides a way for them to do a final check on hair, makeup, and lipstick, for example, without having to dash to the bathroom.

Given the versatility of the coat rack, you'll be surprised how many relatives and friends just might need one, and given that, you'll be amazed at how quickly your Christmas shopping gets done! <bio>Megan Cherry writes exclusively for http://www.pegandrail.com. </bio>

In the computer age, you should realize that there is software out there to help you do virtually anything, even organize your closet! This type of software is very simple to use. It will allow you to enter information including the dimensions of your closet. You can then choose from various layouts and materials to get a visual picture of exactly how your closet area can look. Most closet organizer software will also give you information on the exact materials needed to complete the project as it is layed out and an estimate of the costs.

More advanced closet organizer software will keep a complete inventory of your closet for you. This is a great way to always know what you have in there. You can also store the clothing and shoe size of all your family members in there. This makes it a very good reference when you are considering purchasing any items of clothing for them. This is also an excellent way to keep track of household items in the event you need them for insurance purposes.

Not all closet organizer software is designed the same. You need to check the level of expertise needed to operate particular types of closet organizing software.
For many of us, storage space within the home seems to be at a premium most of the time. The truth is, most home owners only use about one-third to two-thirds of their closet space. Because closets are designed vertically, there remains a lot of room even in closets that seem the most crowded as there is a lot of the area that contains only air. Depending on the location of the closet, there are many ways that you can maximize the storage capacities of your household closets.

Bedroom closets are the first type of closet that comes to mind. Bedroom closets usually contain most of our clothes. Clothes are a major space taker in a closet, but they can be reduced so that your closet has more capacity. One way to add to the space for storage within your closet is to use or add additional shelves. Most bedroom closets will include a shelf at the top that can be useful for storing boxes and other smaller items such as underwear and socks. There are many accessories available that can add to your storage capacity as well. Closet organizer hang vertically but contain several vertical compartments that are useful for storing clothing items that can be folded such as pants and T-shirts. You can also buy apparatus that hangs from the main bar in your closet, and is essentially a second bar. This is used to hang more clothing on. The idea of both of these pieces of equipment is to fully utilize the vertical space in your closet.

Other closets in your house are probably used for a variety of storage purposes, for games, books, food, and seasonal clothing. All of these shelves are useful in that they are ready for additional shelving to be incorporated, giving them some extra capacity. There are several different types of shelves for this purpose. One is the bracket shelving style. This type of shelf is easily adjustable due to the many slots on the mount into which the metal bracket is placed. The flexibility offered by these shelves is great, but they tend to be unreliable in terms of stability, and you may find yourself knocking the shelves themselves over gain and again. A more complex process in terms of installation, but a much more reliable model when it comes to stability, are installed wooden shelves with ledges. These shelves have to be measured carefully on installation, or they will be useless to you. The mounts are merely ledges nailed into the wall, the shelves sized planks that fit on top of the ledges. The whole project requires some attention to detail, and you lose the flexibility offered by bracket shelves, but they are a much more stable model.

There are a few ways to maximize the closet space in your home, depending on the use of the closet and the degree of stability and effort you want to put into it. Wooden shelves on mounts are the best way to go for a closet that needs stability, such as a pantry or game shelf, while mount and bracket styles are best for closet with goods of variable sizes that are prone to reorganization.

For many of us, storage space within the home seems to be at a premium most of the time.
Closets become more functional if we make them ourselves--designed according to our specification and how we plan to use them. After all, who knows our own requirements, needs and desires when it comes to our own rooms and how our closets should be?

So the practical and simple answer is to build your own closet and ensure that yours will be exactly what you need for both yourself and your family.

And here is how we make a closet with simple steps using closet systems.

Closet systems are closet sets in wood or metal ready to be affixed with pre-measured and pre-fabricated parts. With them it's doubly easy to make a closet. In fact, this is so simple you won't believe how soon and easy you will have your perfect closet ready for use.

So follow these 5 easy steps for that dream closet:

1. Plan and design the closet. Decide where we plan to have it, how big, how many levels and compartments, and what features it would have. In short, when we make a closet we should decide how to use it and where. If it's for keeping kitchen utensils then place it in the kitchen. If for car tools have it in the garage. If we plan to have it store numerous things, build a large one.

2. Measure the available space. Don't design a big closet and then find a place where it fits later. When we have chosen its proper place, measure the place and confine the design of the closet to it. We can make a closet a bit more functional to make up for its small size.

3. Locate the wall studs--if we're dealing with wooden walls. If we attach our closet system to them--especially the vertical studs--we make a closet stronger than the ordinary. Studs are often spaced 16 inches apart on center spacing. When we locate one its easy to locate the rest. Remember to get a closet system with measurements that fit our stud spacing.

4. Metal closet systems can also be an option. Just remember that the measurements should fit the stud spacing on our walls. We may combine wood and metal structures to make a closet and attach with screws and rivets. If we're thinking of attaching closet systems on concrete walls we may use wooden or plastic dowels or pins imbedded on walls through drills. Then we may work the screws into these dowels to attack closets on.

5. It's better to have our closet painted to prevent wood or metal from staining our clothes in the long run. Painted surfaces are easier to clean. When we make a closet of wood, remember to sand the surfaces first before painting for a better result. With metal closets, rust proof before painting. We may also opt to have fancy paint finishes, like a classy wainscoting wood finish.

When planning to make a closet attached to a wall, opt for closet systems and note the above tips.<bio>John Grant is a the author for a how to site where he is writing articles about how to build a closet.</bio>

If your home is on the market, you have probably already taken great care in cleaning the interior and making necessary renovations that could help attract prospective buyers. However, before your home is shown to any buyers or agents, you should consider performing a few tasks to help protect your privacy. Not only should you try to remove personal items from tabletops or counters, but it is also wise to remember that potential buyers will open closets, cabinets and built-in drawers as they assess the property. To protect your privacy and prevent prospective buyers from forming any biases against you, you may want to follow these four simple steps before showing your home.

1. Hide your mail

When dealing with your mail, you should either remove it from your home or place it where it cannot be found. If prospective homebuyers spot collection notices or excessive credit card bills in plain sight, they might immediately assume that you are in debt and need to sell your home quickly. Furthermore, as no one wants strangers to read any of their personal materials, you should try to conceal all of your mail -- down to the last furniture catalog.

2. Take down photos and diplomas

While some home sellers feel that such personal documents could add an atmosphere of coziness to their property, you may want to consider clearing the walls. Following this simple step could help prevent any type of bias from prospective homebuyers. For instance, home sellers with recent diplomas might be perceived as deep in debt and willing to sell at any price. Likewise, wedding photos can reveal the homeowner's religion, which could influence certain buyers.

3. Clean the closets and drawers

If you have ever been to an open house or toured a home for sale, you can probably understand the desire to dig around. In most cases, prospective homebuyers simply open closets and cabinets to inspect the space or make judgments about the construction of the home. While most people who view your home will not try to snoop in your personal belongings, try to pack away anything that could tell an unwanted story about your life.

You may want to clear out all drawers and closets entirely before the home is shown to buyers. After your personal belongings have been removed from the home or carefully packed away, work with your agent to stage closets and large cabinets. By replacing your own belongings with examples of how the home can be utilized, you will take the focus off yourself and help prospective buyers visualize themselves in your home.

4. Turn down the answering machine

This final step is probably the most overlooked by home sellers. Just as you can not anticipate what arrives in the mail each day, you cannot predict when you might receive an unwanted phone call. If you are engaged in an open house or private viewing, you certainly don't want a prospective buyer to overhear a message from a collection agency or credit card company. Furthermore, as you are in the process of selling a home (and possibly buying another), you don't want buyers to know anything about your personal business. Hence, before any prospective buyers enter your home, you may want to mute your answering machine to prevent any uncomfortable exchanges.

In conclusion, when you are ready to show your home to prospective buyers, try to remove anything that might drive a buyer away or create an unwanted bias. Whether it's as simple as removing your personal mail or staging the closets of your home's bedrooms, a bit of work can not only protect your privacy but can potentially help sell your home.<bio>Greg Gagnon writes select articles about important topics related to real estate for the Coldwell Banker Corporation.
The cabinets and cupboards have changed somewhat from the time when they were all handmade. When your grandmother was a young wife or even before she became one, cabinets were made to be more functional than decorative. That is not to say they did not add embellishments to break up the monotony however, the older the cabinet the less likely it was to be ornamental.

Some of the older cupboards from 75 to 100 years ago were the type that had the flour compartment to sift your flour when you were getting ready to bake. On most of these it was behind a smaller door on the either the left or right hand side of the cabinet. The other side had shelves.

A counter of sorts underneath the top shelves, for rolling out your flour to make biscuits or whatever you were making, and a couple of doors underneath or a door on one side and drawers on the other. This was for storing your pots and baking pans. Silverware and cooking utensils could be kept in the drawers. These types of cabinets were also called Hoosier cabinets.

Have times changed? Today the only reason someone would want a cupboard like this would be either for the value or the aesthetics it would provide. Or it could have belonged to a grandmother and you would like to have it to keep for sentimental value.

The cabinets that are today called armoires were called just plain clothes closets not too many years ago. The main reason for the cabinets was at that time not many houses were built with closets. This was not really recognized as a popular addition to homes until later. So hence, the clothes closet was born.

If you stop and think about it, the wide array of items that we cherish today were built out of necessity not so many years ago. Our ancestors never dreamed that the items they used in their everyday existence would become collector's items.

Do you remember when medicine cabinets actually were cabinets? Not just a hole in the wall with shelves and a cheap piece of glass, but actually real cabinets with shelves and a door. Some of these are still in existence and hopefully the idea will catch on again. So many of the cabinets and cupboards that existed in the past years have changed. They call the change progress but it may not be as much progress as we would like to think.

The cabinets today are mostly the built-in variety. Everything is supposed to be compact and neat. When the look is completed especially in your kitchen everything blends in and your refrigerator can even look like part of the cabinetry.

When you look at the cabinets and cupboards that you see for sale, remember they did not always look like they way they do today and they were not always called armoires, buffets, and credenzas. Once they were known as clothes closets and sideboards.<bio>Ed Terran is the pen name for the editor of My Furniture shop and house fitting listings</bio>

Every seller wants her home to sell quickly and bring top dollar. While there are some factors you can't control, like neighborhood popularity and market fluctuations, you can help your house put on its best face for showings and open houses. If you want to sell your home, here are some tips to prepare your house and turn it into an irresistible home.

Before any physical preparations, you first need to prepare yourself emotionally. Begin to dissociate yourself, and decide to let go of your attachments to the home. From now on, this is a house you really want to sell, not your own beloved home.

It's important that potential buyers can imagine calling your house "home," too. Make it easier for them by de-personalizing the space. Remove personal photos and family heirlooms. Buyers should be allowed to connect with the space, and to imagine displaying their own photos and artifacts. You want buyers to think, "I could see myself living here."

It's no surprise that you'll want a tidy house for a showing, but what about those hidden areas of the home? Buyers need to look everywhere; they will open cupboards and peer into closets. So, make sure storage areas are organized, and that coats hang neatly in hall closets. Stack dishes and re-arrange kitchen drawers. Tidy other stored items, like books, games or CD's. Bathrooms and kitchens should be especially clean, with counters clear of miscellaneous personal items and knick-knacks. Don't forget the outside of the home. Give your house curb appeal by trimming the lawn, sweeping the front walk, and artfully arranging outdoor furniture.

Now is the time to take care of those bothersome little repairs you've been putting off for years. Buyers will notice the flaws that you've grown accustomed to. From replacing light bulbs, to cleaning scuff marks off walls, to replacing missing tiles in the bathroom, or fixing the broken screen door, take care to repair all the minor problems with the house before the open house.

While you may have long determined which aspects of your home you love, having a fresh set of eyes scrutinize its best features is a smart idea. If you want to sell your home, take the time to walk through it methodically with your real estate agent. Together you can point out which features of the home should be accentuated...and which elements should be downplayed. Does your home have a wonderful view? Draw attention to it by sprucing up window treatments and arranging furniture to draw the eye toward the windows. Is the kitchen small and cramped? Make the most of it by lighting the space well, clearing counters of debris and displaying a vase of fresh flowers.

If you want to take window coverings, built-in appliances or fixtures with you when you sell your home, remove them now. If the chandelier in the dining room once belonged to your great grandmother, take it down. If a buyer never sees it, he won't want it. Once you tell a buyer he can't have an item, he will covet it, and it could blow your deal. Pack those items and replace them, if necessary.

Finally, when it comes time for the open house, try to avoid being home. Not only does it make buyers uncomfortable, but it can interfere with your real estate agent's sales process. Whether you head to the office or just out for a walk with the dog, you can rest assured that in your absence, your house will look enticing to its new owners! <bio>The staff at Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation [http://www.coldwellbanker.com/] writes select articles about important topics related to real estate.
There are few areas in your home as difficult when organizing as your closet. You keep so many items in there such as shirts, pants, shoes, and miscellaneous things, it's no wonder the closet is so hard to keep clean. Here are some tips to organizing your closet for maximum effectiveness starting today.

First of all, have a plan in place beforehand of how you want the closet to look when it's done. Don't merely begin the overhaul without having any idea in mind of the final product. Write down the plan and even a picture of the finished closet, and stay focused on your efforts to get there.

Now, start off the closet organizing process by discarding all your unused clothing immediately. There is nothing more wasteful than keeping around clothes you have no use for. Place these items in boxes and put them in the garage. Later, you can either simply throw them out or give them away to charity.

The most important thing needed for closet organizing is to keep your related items together. When your shirts, pants, shoes, and magazines are all clustered together, it's next to impossible to know where anything is. In order to keep these separate, purchase organizers such as racks or even simple bins to keep your related clothing together and in one place.

Make use of the closet floor. Many closets come with a lot of floor space that most people underutilize, yet can be very effective when you need some extra space.

Remember, however, always leave some extra room for more items later on. If you fill up the whole closet too quickly, you won't have any room for new items you may find or purchase later on.

When utilizing the floor, stack your clothes in neat piles where they will be out of your way when searching for other items. For instance, keep your shirts piled together, pants, etc. Don't simply strew items all over the floor, which can do more harm than good.

Most people fall into the trap of believing that their closet is all about vertical space. They forget the horizontal space that, when utilized effectively, can take a tremendous amount of pressure off the rest of the closet.

Try to keep only your clothing in your closets, particularly the bedroom closet. For many people, it's easy to stack miscellaneous items inside such as magazines, books, etc.

Keep your reading material in cabinets and other areas to make room for clothing in your closets. When you try to keep too many different items in your closet, you will quickly lose track of the things you've stored there.

Start with these simple yet effective tips at closet organizing, and go from there. You will quickly find that, when utilized effectively, your closet can take a tremendous amount of pressure off the rest of your home and its storage space. Don't wait any longer-take action today! <bio>For more great organization tips, try visiting http://www.organizelifetips.com, a popular site that teaches closet organizing as well as home organization tips. </bio>

A walk in shower allows individuals to quickly duck into the shower after working out, and rinse the sweat and dirt off.

Walk in showers have recently become popular in home bathroom designs as well. They offer a unique brand of convenience, flexibility, and style.

Walk in showers are convenient as they allow you to quickly and easily duck in the shower for a quick shower, without having to mess with a stuck shower curtain, etc. They are what you might call a minimal, integrated design.

As far as flexibility is concerned, walk in showers are about as flexible as showers can get. You can create a walk in shower anywhere in your bathroom you can get the correct plumbing to. You can put it in a corner, or even in the middle of the room if you wanted.

Once you do decide that a walk in shower is what you want, you have some great design options. You can create a wet room, which is basically just a corner of your bathroom surrounded by some glass panels to contain the water. This gives you a very flexible design, allowing you to make the shower the right size to fit your specific needs. For example, you could easily make a handicapped accessible shower this way.

There is really no limit to the designs you can create for your walk in shower. You can buy the glass panels separately and create your own unique design. If you can come up with a design, you can probably create it - It's all up to you! <bio>Visit http://www.wdbathrooms.co.uk/acatalog/Walk_In_Showers.html for quality walk in showers. </bio>

There are bathrooms and then there are big-enough-to-live-in rooms! When the latter is the desired choice, careful consideration should go into designing bathroom suites to ensure they meet the needs and desires of those who will use them.

When the opportunity to create one of these from the ground up is presented, it can really be a fun challenge. The idea for many is to strike a nice balance between functionality and beauty. When the right things are considered, this can certainly be accomplished.

If custom created bathroom suites are being considered for a new home design or a remodel, there are many things to take into account. Some of the top concerns include:

* Amount of space available. Deciding how big or how small to make the suite will help dictate every other consideration. Be realistic here. You probably don't want a bathroom that's bigger than the living room, but then again you might!

* Number of separate rooms. This will partially be a function of how much space is being dedicated to the suite itself, but it can make a very big difference in the design. Some bathroom suites are like mini-apartments. Others are a little more down to earth.

Possibilities here include separate chambers for the commode, dressing area, closet space, shower and even the tub. Smaller designs might only include a vanity/sink area and a separate chamber for bathing and toileting.

* Type of fixtures desired. This can make or break the designs of bathroom suites. Consider the overall theme that's desired for the rooms and choose fixtures accordingly. A tiny suite with a huge garden or whirlpool tub likely won't look all that great. So make sure the space available is considered, as well.

* Closet space. In medium to large bathroom suites, closet space is generally included in the mix. If this will be worked into the design, decisions will need to be made about the layout. Some suites include his and hers closets to go along with his and hers kinds. Others offer only one large walk in or two separate panel closets.

* Vanity area. This can be one of the most important considerations that goes into creating the ideal suite. For many, the mirror, sink and corresponding counter is where they spend a great deal of their bathroom time.

Carefully consider the configuration for this and take into account such things as how many people will be using the suite and what their personal tastes are. His and hers sinks, for example, might sound like a great idea to some. Others see this design as presenting twice the cleaning work!

* Accents desired. Again, space will be a consideration here, but when there's enough, accent features in the architectural scheme can really add to these suites. For example, Greek pillars surrounding a freestanding tub can add a regal flavor that's hard to deny. A giant window in the vanity area that overlooks a serene garden might be another option.

Creating bathroom suites can be a huge challenge. When a careful balance between beauty and function is struck with the right size considerations taken into account, these useful rooms can become the favorite of any house. <bio>For more information on bathrooms, try visiting http://www.bathroomdetails.com - a website that specializes in providing bathroom related tips, advice and resources including information on bathroom suites. </bio>

Let me show you some great ways to position your mirrors for maximum décor effect for your home. I will quickly provide a short but very useful review of the exact steps to take in order to achieve this.

I hope you already know about the power of using mirrors to enhance the look and feel of your home. But if not, no problem this article will still be useful to you. Otherwise these can be used for more than just checking your self up before dashing out to work or to a hot date; for instance, they can be use to create some sense of space, especially for those with small houses and also to add some lighting into your room.

Okay, I have said enough, now let me quickly provide you with the few innovative ways to position decorative mirrors for maximum effect.

Place it right at the end of the hall way

Small hallways make everything look crammed and messy. Unfortunately a number of people have small houses and consequently small hallways. So if you put a mirror right at the end of it you can mentally extend it and make it seem spacious and appealing.

Place them on the sides along a staircase

Interestingly, you can also widen the hallway or staircase by placing the mirrors side by side. This can help you achieve a similar effect to placing it at the end of the hallway. So you have a longer and wider hall way or staircase.

Can use it a walk-in closet

Okay this one is about yourself i.e. to make sure you look lovely enough to face the world with confidence. You can place them in walk-in closets to use them as the second eye especially if you do not have someone living with you. I mean who doesn't want to be told how great they look.

Now the greatest thing here is that you can create a 360-degree viewing for your ultimate enjoyment. Simply look for a floor mirror and place it in your walk in closet and you will love it -- believe me!

Use them in your bathroom

One thing I love about hotels is the mirrors that are placed all over the bathrooms. You can take the same concept to your home. Now, there are a variety of ways for you to do this. For one, simply hang them at the door base or tub. One thing to keep in mind is that they should not reflect the toilet because this is not necessarily the greatest accessory to show off.

Place some photographs around it

Here is another great twist to effective positioning; simply hand them around the mirrors. This will definitely enhance the look and feel. A point to take home here is that you can use other household features to supplement their effectiveness.

Note what is around the mirrors

I mentioned avoiding toilet seat reflections earlier on but now I need to elaborate on this. You must try and keep your surrounding appealing as well in order to have beautiful reflections. Imagine a completely untidy room with mirrors all over. The duplication of the mess would just be appalling.<bio>Compare, review and buy best decorative mirrors Visit http://www.bestdecorativemirrors.com - there are vast choices from wall, floor, large, compact to fog less, glass and antique mirrors to review and buy.</bio>

Okay, so your sister is a fan of the country look for her decor, but you're thoroughly modern. Need something to hang your clothes or coat on that's unobtrusive, inexpensive, and lightweight? Go for a white coat rack.

You can go for the wall mounted or freestanding variety, and both have advantages. Wall mounted coat racks are great for small spaces that don't have a lot of floor space. Just about any free wall space will do; additionally, if the coat rack is white and your wall is also painted white, it will blend in visually with the wall color. In addition, wall coat racks can be adjusted for the height of the user. Some coat racks are designed to be hung off the backs of doors and do not require any special tools for installation.

Freestanding coat racks are great for those with enough floor space, and additionally, they can be moved wherever you need them or stored out of the way.

White coat racks are great for a clean, simple, modern look. You can buy a wooden coat rack and paint it white, or use a metal one. Whatever material you use, though, white is a great color for a clean, simple look that will be unobtrusive and will fit in with any decor.

If you're really a fan of wooden coat racks but you don't have the funds or simply don't want to buy a new one, check out your elderly relatives' attics, estate sales, and even garage sales for one. Although popular at the turn of last century when closet space was not as prominent or accepted a storage option, coat racks took a backseat to closets and even nearly disappeared, when closets became the rage. Therefore, sometimes they can be had for very little money, but are very good quality if you find them in such places.

If you find a wooden coat rack that you would like to paint white, you can either strip it down or simply apply a court of primer and paint over it. Spray paint often offers the smoothest and best option for application versus brush painting, and you'll have no brushes to clean afterwards.

Whatever you choose, white coat racks will fit in with any decor and will give you a clean, simple look that will blend in to your surroundings. <bio>Megan Cherry is an author for http://www.pegandrail.com </bio>
