Dundee flourished between 1700 and 1900 primarily because of the jute industry. At one time it was said that there were more millionaires per head of population in Dundee then anywhere else in the world!

At one point, jute employed more people in Dundee then all the other industries combined. Then due to competition from Asia the jute industry slowly died a death. Now there are only a few people employed in the jute industry in Dundee.

Verdant Works is a restored working museum where jute is still produced today. You can see for yourself how jute was manufactured and learn more about the rise and decline of the jute industry. At its peak over 500 people were employed at Verdant Works. Conditions must have been tough for the workers because the factory is not that large!

It has been said that marmalade was invented by Janet Keillor. They had ordered Oranges from Seville which arrived late sometime around 1700 and were very bitter. Janet Keillor managed to make the original recipe for marmalade. Her son then developed the recipe further and made Keillor's jams and marmalades famous throughout the world.

This story is probably not one hundred percent true as some types of marmalade were probably being eaten in Spain and Portugal before this late shipment of bitter oranges arrived in Dundee. Marmalade is a sweet sticky condiment that tastes great on toast at breakfast time. It is not to everybody's liking though with many people and especially children who find it unpalatable.

Although Dundee was famous for its jams the number of people employed in the industry was small compared to jute and journalism. As competition grew in the late 1900s the factory struggled to make any profits. The Keillor factory was bought by the Okhai family in the 1980s but they were unable to make the business profitable and it eventually closed down.

Journalism still thrives in Dundee today. The business owned by the DC Thomson family created many famous characters including Dennis the Menace, Desperate Dan, Billy Whiz and the Bash Street Kids. They publish The Courier newspaper, Sunday Post, Scots Magazine, Weekly News as well as the Beano, Dandy. According to their own figures they publish over 200 million newspapers and magazines each year.

Dundee at its peak had over two hundred thousand people living and working in the city. As the industry has slowly died younger people and especially graduates are leaving to work in the larger cities. Now it has a population of around a hundred and forty thousand.

Dundee is a beautiful place to live sitting on "the Banks of the Bonny Bay." The Law is at the centre of Dundee and was at on point an active volcano. Now you can drive up to the top and from this vantage point see all the four corners of Dundee.

Dundee is a great place to visit if you want to see Scotland. Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow are all within an hours reach. Perth and St Andrews (the home of golf) are both within twenty minutes drive. <bio>Chris Fawcett - CityLocal Dundee http://www.citylocal.co.uk/frontend/postfreeadvert.php?cityid=79 http://www.citylocal.co.uk/frontend/postevent.php http://www.citylocal.co.uk/frontend/postproperty.php http://www.citylocal.co.uk/cities/Dundee/news/ </bio>

There are many different ways that you can use public domain works to profit. How you choose to use public domain works will be in direct proportion with exactly what you are trying to accomplish. For instance, if you don't have a product, you may use these works to create a product. If you do have a product, you may use public domain works to sell that product, or to make that product more valuable. You can even profit from public domain works without having or creating a product at all.

The first way to profit is to find a public domain work that relates to your market, and rewrite that work to bring it up-to-date. You can also use various parts of different works to create the product. You can alternately sell a public domain work as it already is, as long as the information still applies to today's world.

Many people use public domain works to create a collection of some type. You can create collections of articles, collections of art or photographs, or collections of music. The possibilities are endless, and when you use public domain works to create a collection, you can put your name on the collection as the author, even though you aren't the author of the individual works within your collection.

As stated earlier, you can even profit from public domain works without having or creating a product. You can use public domain works to sell affiliate products. You can give the public domain work, in digital format, away to those who purchase products through you.

Membership sites are another great place to use public domain works, or use them for newsletter contents, autoresponder courses, private label articles.

Finally, you can use public domain works for content purposes. You can use the work as content for your website, or as articles that can be submitted to the article repositories to build website traffic.

There are many more ways that you can use public domain works for profit. All you need to do is put your imagination to work, and choose the right public domain work for your purposes. <bio>Don Schonberg has 30+ years of tech experience in the corporate world of Info Technology.
Because works that are in the public domain are free for the public to use, however they see fit, those works can be used to create new products =96 or even sold as they are for profit.

As an entrepreneur, you can use public domain works to add to an existing product line, or to create one if you don't already have any products of your own. If you do not change the work in anyway, the author of the work remains the same. In other words, you can sell it, but you can't put your name on it.

If you edit the work, however, or include bits and pieces of public domain work to create a new product, your name goes on it, and you can copyright it. This is one of the absolute fastest ways, next to purchasing resell rights, to create a product of your very own. While purchasing resell rights to a product may be faster, works that are in the public domain and used to create new products may prove to be more valuable =96 meaning you can charge more.

Using public domain works not only saves the time that may be involved in product creation, but it will also save you money when it comes to product creation or development. The work has been done already. Furthermore, if you know where to look, there are millions of public domain works that can be obtained freely.

When it comes to information, there is one solid fact that will never change.
Needing to get some exercise after surgery my wife talked me into spending Sunday afternoon's visiting one of the parks in Tulsa. We were surprised to find over 150 parks spread across the city, from tiny neighborhood "mini-parks" to sprawling recreation areas with almost every thing imaginable.

The Neighborhood Parks

Scattered across town in out of the way spots are small neighborhood parks sometimes with nothing more than an open area for kids to play football or baseball. Some will have a picnic table but they are generally small, quaint and very inviting for neighbors to gather and meet each other. With television, America's communities have grown distant, sometimes with neighbors barely knowing each other. The internet has exasperated the problem. It's not uncommon for someone to talk with people from a half-a-dozen different countries on a daily basis, online, but speak with their own neighbor once a week if even that frequently. These neighborhood parks help bring people together when our changing culture is working to spread them apart.

The Playgrounds

Tulsa has been referring to many of their parks as "playgrounds" not as a way of saying here's where kids can play, but to say here's where families can play. Typically the "playgrounds" include sports fields as well as play areas for kids often alongside picnic areas where parents can stay close and watch their kids. It's not too difficult to imagine the small children playing on the "Big Toy" while older kids play soccer, while dad joins in a game of baseball, while mom watches all of them from a picnic area strategically situated in the midst of the park. Tulsan's do like to play.

The Community Centers

On a larger scale Tulsa has several Community Centers. These are parks that also have facilities for indoor recreation. The outdoor recreation is never neglected since Tulsa's Community Centers are almost always surrounded by good sized parks with a plethora of features. The buildings offer many events year round as well as being available for smaller private events. We've had family Christmas get-togethers for my wife's rather large family at a nearby Community Center. Some even have libraries on site or nearby making them a widely functioning civic point.

The Regular Parks

And of course there are the run-of-the-mill parks which offer the typical fields, woods, sports fields and picnic areas. Both the City of Tulsa and Tulsa County do a wonderful job maintaining them and you'll find clean, well kept areas for the typical recreational needs. In order to save the taxpayers' money many are situated next to schools so they can also be used as playgrounds, making the need for keeping them safe even more important. You'll find them exactly what you need for a friendly weekend softball game, group picnic or simply a place to stretch your legs.

The Big Parks

Tulsa has always been a place that works toward large city efficiency with more of a small town friendliness. We pride ourselves on possessing Southern charm, Midwestern ruggedness and American ingenuity. There are other towns with bigger parks, but quantity isn't nearly as important as quality. From Riverparks to Mohawk park to Chandler park you can find someplace to enjoy your time outdoors with verdant woods, soft green fields, scenic jogging trails, beautiful flower gardens, enough to fill a whole lifetime.

Visit one of Tulsa's parks and you'll see a family picnicking, a college student sprawled with his books beneath a shade tree, some more college students playing frisbee golf, kids laughing in a play area, couples walking along paths trying to decide which deserves their attention-the scenic view or each other, a rabbit frolicking amidst trees and rocks, kids playing a game of softball, people swimming in one of the many swimming pools or maybe someone by themselves, just enjoying the sunshine. It's all there waiting for you. <bio>Danny Carlton is a freelance web designer who has lived in and around Tulsa for over 30 years.
Some in the church in Galatia were peddling a doctrine of salvation by works. Paul asks and answers three bombshell questions of those Galatians who were trying to peddle this doctrine. These three questions and their answers stopped their salvation by works message in its tracks.

You remember, of course, that Paul believed that Jesus' blood took care of the sin problem for the human race.

Now here are his three dynamite questions and their obvious answers.

Question #1: "Did the Galatians receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith?" Galatians 3:2. In other words, can you work to receive the Spirit or is that a product of believing on Jesus and receiving Him (by faith) as your personal savior? Of course, receiving the Spirit comes by faith upon receiving Jesus as savior.

Works have nothing to do with it. Paul's logic, then, forces the conclusion that works of the law have nothing to do with the removal of our guilt and feelings of unworthiness for our sins. This is solely through Jesus' blood which is God's supreme act of grace. The blood of Jesus is appropriated by faith and not by works at all

Question #2: "Since they started out by the Spirit, what makes them think they can switch from the Spirit to the flesh to continue their Christian experience? What makes them think they can switch from the Spirit to the fleshly works of the Law to finish out their Christian experience?" Galatians 3:3.

They can't. Therefore, Jesus' blood, applied to us by the Spirit through faith, will take care of our guilt and unworthiness problem. Consequently, Christians who rest and trust in Jesus' blood refuse to be brought under bondage for unworthiness caused by the guilt of their sins.

Consequently, they will not let these feelings of guilt and unworthiness interfere with God's blessings of healing, prosperity, family well being and salvation contained in the Abrahamic covenant for them.

Question #3: "Did the one who ministers the Spirit to them and works miracles among them do these things by the hearing of faith or by the works of the law?" Galatians 3:5. Of course, he did these things by faith and not by the works of the law.

Paul's logic, here, forces the conclusion that (1) since these Galatians received the Spirit by faith and not by works of the Law, (2) since they cannot switch from the Spirit to works of the Law to maintain their Christian life and (3) since the ones ministering the Spirit and works miracles among them continue to do them by faith and not by works of the Law, then neither can the Galatians arbitrarily switch from salvation by faith in Jesus to salvation by works of the Law. Neither can they attempt to follow any mixture of faith and works.

>From the preceding, obviously Paul believed that Jesus' blood took care of everything. His blood was the grace of God in action. His blood took care of the guilt and feelings of unworthiness for all our sins. To add one thing to this heavenly formula in the form of any religious work that we must do to get our guilt and unworthiness removed would void God's grace and render Jesus' death useless and meaningless.

Never let the devil or his gang tell you that you can't have your Abrahamic blessings of healing, prosperity, family well being and salvation because of feelings of guilt and unworthiness. <bio>Dr. Jay Snell authored eleven books proving the healing, prosperity, family well being, eternal security, pretribulation rapture and salvation provided for Christians in the Abrahamic covenant. These books presented many times on TBN. http://www.jaysnell.org </bio>

Everyone likes verdant lawns. The green looking lawns are a result of painstaking efforts and some real turf care. It is not very difficult to maintain the green turf as in golf courses or the horse races. Read all about it here

Easy and simple Real Turf Care Guidelines

A green looking turf that you see in the catalogues of golf clubs is not very difficult to maintain. You too can do this landscaping . All it takes is work and some common sense tips. You will be surprised if I were to tell you that you could have a good lawn if you follow the rule of 25 mm and the rule of third. Let me explain,

Watering of Lawn: You should water the lawn just enough so that the evaporation loss is replenished and the grass gets its due share. The rule of 25 gives the value of water loss through evaporation.

When watering the lawn. Take a dish and keep it in the area where watering is being done and allow about 25 mm height of water to get stored in the dish. After watering is complete, place the dish in the same where it was filled up and allow the water to evaporate. Note the time required for water to evaporate. You should water the lawn after this time interval.

The watering should be heavy and infrequent rather than frequent and shallow. When you water the lawn shallow, the root system starts looking for water and the root system does not penetrate deep in the ground. At the same time there should be no water logging in any area. The water logging would destroy the grass in that area.

Over-watering will not kill the grass but water logging will definitely do it. In fact over-watering is good. Infrequent over-watering coupled with generous use of nitrogen rich fertilizers will help in developing spongy grass on which you will feel elated when walking.

Watering of lawns should be done in the morning so that the water has time to penetrate to the ground. Water evaporation is highest during noontime. Watering at this time, would only allow higher evaporation. You do not want water to evaporate, you want it to reach the ground and penetrate the surface, so water in the morning or evening when evaporation rate is minimal.

Mowing The Lawns Second Real Turf Care

Mowing the lawns carefully and timely is the second care that you will give to the lawns. The rule for the real turf care is rule of third. When mowing the lawns, do not cut the grass more than the third of the existing blade length. A marine crew cut is not the best way to develop green grass. In fact, you are killing the grass if you give it a marine crew cut.

The root system does not develop properly when you give it a close shave and the growth of grass is reduced. Hence, the grass should never be cut close to ground. Depending on the type of grass the blade length could be between 20 to 40 mm. For example, the buffalo grass should be allowed to grow 30 to 40 mm in summer and winter before cutting. Follow the rule of third and the minimum blade length will be maintained.

When you cut the grass, you may leave the cut grass instead of removing it so that the grass gets its food from the cut grass. Care should be taken to see that thatching of soil should not occur; otherwise, grass growth could be restricted.

With two simple rules, you can get good-looking lawns. <bio>Andrew Caxton is the webmaster and successful author of http://www.lawn-mowers-and-garden-tractors.com .
Portugal is one of the most popular places for luxury golf holidays, and the Algarve is the country's star attraction. This region, located on Portugal's sunny south coast, is a real golfer's delight. There are plenty of highlights to be found on an Algarve golf holiday, and listed below are some of the best features that it has to offer...

Outstanding Courses

If you are interested in an Algarve golf holiday, the quality of the courses is what matters above all. You won't be disappointed -- the Algarve's golf courses are among the prettiest in the world. There are plenty to choose from, and there are some real gems to be found all along the coast.

Monte Rei is often regarded as the best course in Portugal. It has only been open since 2007 but this Jack Nicklaus course is tough, intricate, and a real delight to play on. With slick service and great scenery, it's a great day's golf.

San Lorenzo Golf Club is another outstanding course. Perhaps the most beautiful golf course in the Algarve, San Lorenzo is positioned alongside the spectacular Ria Formosa nature reserve. It features numerous lakes and is encircled by a pine forest but the course offers more than just a beautiful landscape; it's a fine mix of shortish holes, "thinking" holes and frightening ones! A perfect test for more experienced golfers.

Luxury Golf Hotels

Almost all of the best golf courses in the Algarve have their own dedicated golf hotels. These hotels are the perfect base from which to enjoy a relaxing golf break; offering outstanding facilities (typically including spas, swimming pools, restaurants and gyms) along with luxurious comfort and great service. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing your accommodation for an Algarve golf holiday, but two of the best golf hotels are Le Meridien Penina (one of the oldest golf hotels but kept in pristine condition amid 300 acres of parkland) and Vila Sol, with two excellent restaurants and a superb luxury spa. Henry Cotton designed the course and retired here -- arguably Great Britain's best ever golfer -- assurance enough that this has always been a classy affair.

Amazing Scenery

As any keen golfer will tell you, enjoying the scenery is an essential part of a truly great round of golf, and the Algarve doesn't disappoint. From lush forests and verdant greens to dramatic coastal landscapes, a golf break in the Algarve will give you plenty of spectacular scenery to admire as you play. The landscape around Tavira is especially beautiful as the town is a part of one of the biggest nature reserves in Portugal, and nature-loving golfers should head to this part of the Algarve for their golf holidays.

Great Weather

Plenty of golfers take their golf holidays in the Algarve because of the quality of the courses but the gorgeous weather is another big draw for the region. The combination of sunshine and soothing coastal breezes make for perfect golfing weather and some of the best beaches in Europe provide an opportunity to correct the "golfer's tan".<bio>Morgan Clarke is the Managing Director of GolfPlanet Holidays, a company that has been providing bespoke golf holidays for over 25 years.
As anyone who has gone on holiday to Cuba will know, Cuba is filled with a superb range of attractions. Havana's glorious colonial old town, the Che Guevara Monument at Santa Clara and the colourful streets of Trinidad are just some of the highlights in the cities. The Caribbean beaches are the other great attraction on the island, with thousands of holidaymakers flocking to resorts like Cayo Coco each year to enjoy the sun, sand and crystal clear waters.

What is less well known is that, away from the cities and the beaches, Cuba is also a country of jaw-dropping scenery. Nature lovers will find plenty to keep themselves entertained, from stunning valleys and mountain ranges to biosphere reserves and national parks. Here are the five best natural attractions to visit while on a holiday to Cuba...

Baracoa

Located on the eastern coast of the island, the city of Baracoa was the first settlement in Cuba, and is believed to be where Christopher Columbus originally landed on the island. It is a beautiful oyster shaped bay, surrounded by verdant vegetation and wildlife. The flat topped mountain El Yunque provides breathtaking views out across the bay, and the many rivers make it a pleasure to explore on boat or by foot. Despite the historical significance and stunning natural landscape of Baracoa, relatively few people visit this place on their holidays to Cuba, so it is a relaxing place to visit away from the crowds.

Ciénaga de Zapata National Park

Home to the largest swamp lands in Cuba, holidays here are a delight for birdwatchers and anglers. Most choose to stay at the nearby resort of Playa Larga (popular with scuba divers), which gives you full opportunity to explore this fascinating area and experience the richness of its wildlife and fauna for yourself.

Vinales Valley

No holiday to Cuba's natural wonders is complete without a visit to the Vinales Valley. It is a lush tobacco growing valley located in Cuba's heartland, with spectacular cliffs (known as mogotes) rising like islands out of the valley floor.
From city breaks to luxury safaris and wine tours, there are a great range of luxury holidays in South Africa. It is a fascinating country -- the unique geography ranges from the safari reserves to verdant winelands and subtropical regions, and exploration of the diverse South African countryside is hugely rewarding.

It combines fascinating tracts of untamed wilderness with a refined sense of luxury -- the wine here is world famous, there are excellent guided tours to all the major sights and destinations, and there is also an excellent range of luxury hotels in South Africa. You can combine safaris and wildlife tours with great accommodation and plenty of comfort -- truly the best of both worlds!

If you are still looking for inspiration, here are some great ideas for a luxury holiday in South Africa...

Visit Cape Town in Style

Cape Town is an essential place to visit on any South Africa holiday. The Victoria and Albert Waterfront is a delightful place to stroll along and take in the sights and from here, you can catch a ferry for Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. Cape Town has some superb beaches, and whether you hike or take the cable car, a visit to the top of Table Mountain (which overlooks the city) provides unforgettable views over the city and the Cape of Good Hope.

Take a Luxury Safari

When most people think of holidays in South Africa, they think of safaris. There is an amazingly diverse range of wildlife in this country, from big game animals like rhinos, elephants and lions to many other animals, including giraffes, zebras and hippopotami. A South Africa safari holiday gives a unique opportunity to see these animals up close in their natural environment. Best of all, it is possible to safari in style! The luxury lodges of Kruger Park and the other game reserves are wonderful places to stay out in the wilderness, so you can enjoy every comfort after a day on safari.

Explore the Winelands and Follow the Garden Route

It has long been famous for its outstanding wines, and no luxury holiday to South Africa would be complete without a visit to the wine producing valleys. These are unique in Africa; unusually they have a Mediterranean climate that provides the perfect conditions to produce some of the world's finest wines. You can take a driving tour of the winelands, sampling the wine and admiring the countryside, and then head out into the lakes, mountain passes and lush forests of the Garden Route along the west coast.

Go Multi Centre

If you want to go further on your luxury holiday than South Africa on its own, you can combine it with a visit to another nearby African country. You could combine a city break in Cape Town with a safari and then go and see the spectacular Victoria Falls in Zambia or follow up a Kruger safari with a beach retreat in Mozambique, or one of a dozen other combinations. Southern Africa is an amazingly diverse region, and a multi centre holiday is a great way to sample the highlights of several different countries.<bio>Amanda Wood is a South Africa expert for key2holidays, an online tour operator specialising in luxury holidays to South Africa, Australia, Cuba, the Caribbean, Europe, the Far East, the Maldives, Mauritius and the Seychelles, Egypt and Dubai.
As you approach the Tay Road Bridge whether by car or by train through the Tay Rail Bridge you begin to understand why they call the river "Silvery Tay". The city is situated on the east coast of Scotland on the north bank of the firth of Tay.

Dundee is Scotland's fourth largest city and one of the most beautiful! Driving across the bridge you can clearly see the Law Hill. The city is built around this extinct volcano. You can drive right up to the top of the hill and from this vantage point you can see the whole of Dundee!

Dundee is Scotland's sunniest city (it faces south) with over 1400 hours of sunshine every year. Its title "City of Discovery" comes from the HM Frigate Unicorn, the oldest surviving ship in the UK.

Dundee is known for its "3 Js" -- Jute, Jam and Journalism. Although the Jute and Jam industry is no longer predominant in Dundee, you can still see the towers associated with the industry. Verdant Works is ideal for tourists wishing to learn about Dundee's Jute Industry.

Keillers of Dundee pioneered the manufacture of marmalade here. They bought a shipload of oranges which they were unable to sell. Janet Keiller specialized in selling jam and using her knowledge invented marmalade.

Although Jute and Jam are no longer made in Dundee, the journalism sector still thrives. The company began as a branch of the Thomson family business. In 1884, David Couper Thomson took over the publishing business, and established it as DC Thomson in 1905. The firm flourished, and now produces more than 200 million comics, books and magazines every year.

Dundee is also a university town with a student population averaging about 32,000. Due to the high numbers of students, Dundee has a lively pub and club scene. The 2 most popular night clubs are Fat Sams and London Night Club.

A recent quality of life survey ranked Dundee near the top due to its clean air, low pollution levels, riverside location and high sunshine hours.

Shopping in Dundee has now taken off with 2 major shopping centres (Overgate and Wellgate) under pinning the west and east of the city centre. The number of out of town shopping centres in Dundee means that the city attracts shoppers from all the small towns nearby.

The town is a fantastic holiday location with Broughty Ferry having one of the cleanest beaches in the UK.

The city is an ideal starting point for touring the best of Scotland with almost all major attractions less then 100 miles away. Kenmore, Loch Earn, Loch Ness and Ben Nevis are beautiful destinations in their own right. The three other major cities, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow are all approximately an hours drive.

St Andrews (the home of golf) and Carnoustie both have championship golf courses and are only 20 minutes drive from the city.

Dundee has three country parks all within 3 miles of the city. Camperdown Park, Monikie Park and Crombie Park are all beautiful and unique in their own ways.

Dundee is renowned for its Dundee Repertory Theatre (the rep) and Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre (DCA).

The main Hotels in Dundee are the Hilton Hotel, Apex City Quay, Swallow Hotel and Queens. There are many other smaller hotels and recently many travel lodges/inns have opened to provide room only rates for families on a small budget.

Glamis Castle -- known to be haunted due to an ancient curse is a fairy tale castle which will exceed all your expectations.

The town of Glamis also houses the Angus Folk Museum. Visit one of Scotland's finest museums and learn about Scotland's history.

Dundee has 2 football teams: Dundee United and Dundee. Some people in Dundee believe that they should unite to form one team. Others have very strong views that the two team should remain separate.

St Andrews Beach has to be seen to be believed. The world famous golf course sits proudly on the beach front.

The British Golf Museum is in St Andrews, the home of golf! Find out about the history of the game and indulge in some interactive highly visual displays.

The best hotel in St Andrews is the MacDonald Russacks Hotel. It was voted one of the Top Golfing Hotels in the world.

St Andrews Castle consists of the ruins of the castle built around the 13th century. Here you can explore the secret dungeons and admire the views.

St Andrews Cathedral and St Rule's Tower are the remains of the largest cathedral in Scotland. <bio>CityLocal Dundee Dundee http://www.citylocal.co.uk/cities/Dundee Dundee Tourist Information http://www.citylocal.co.uk/frontend/dundee/dundeetouristinfo.php Dundee News http://www.citylocal.co.uk/cities/Dundee/news </bio>

As any proud Argentinian, I always try to invite my readers to see the marvels of my beautiful country. If you happen to travel this far south, you can't miss these sights:

=95 Take in the chocolate box scenery of glacial lakes, mountains and forests of the southern Lake District around Bariloche; then follow `the route of the seven lakes' through spectacular mountain passes to San Mart=EDn and on to Lan=EDn National Park, dominated by the extinct, snow-capped Lan=EDn Volcano (3,776m/12,386ft).

=95 Stroll through the capital's chic Recoleta district, famous for its Cementerio de la Recoleta (where many members of Argentina's elite are buried) and the renowned Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (Museum of Fine Arts).

=95 Marvel at the multi-coloured houses and artistic talent of La Boca, where Italian immigrants settled to work in the shipyards and the tango was supposedly born.

=95 Soak up the atmosphere of the San Telmo district of Buenos Aires, with its many cafes, antique shops, tango night spots and a Sunday flea market on Plaza Dorrego.

=95 Visit one of Argentina's oldest cities, Corrientes, and see the church of Sant=EDsima Cruz de los Milagros and the San Francisco convent. Corrientes is also the land of the chamam=E9, a characteristic type of rhythmic music derived from the polka.

=95 Discover the architecture of colonial Salta before stopping in on the nearby pre-Incan ruins at Santa Rosa de Tastil; then travel through the arid, stunning red gorge of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, scattered with verdant oases.

=95 Wander around the Ischigualasto National Park, a desert valley also referred to as 'the valley of the moon', owing to its distinctive rock formations and fossils dating back some 180 million years.

=95 Gaze at the Andes mountain range topped by Mount Aconcagua (6,995m/22,944ft), the highest mountain in the Western hemisphere, located within the Aconcagua National Park. The nearby Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) statue is a famous monument at almost 4,000m (13,120ft) above sea level, offering magnificent views.

=95 See the top spots of The Pampas and visit the scenic peaks of Sierra de la Ventana; note the traces of colonial past in Santa Fe; and glimpse the pink granite rock formations of Lihue Calel National Park.

=95 Be dazzled by the sheer power of Iguaz=FA Falls; view this majestic series of cataracts at Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat), which can be approached via a system of catwalks over the thundering water; and take a boat trip through the mist and spray at the base of the falls.

=95 Be struck by nature on the Valdes Peninsula; see herds of seals, sea lions and take a whale watching boat trip. Then visit the penguin colony at Punta Tombo.

=95 Feel the chill in Los Glaciares National Park with the Perito Moreno Glacier as its centerpiece, where huge icebergs calve and topple into Lake Argentino.

=95 Travel to the `end of the earth' at Tierra del Fuego, the gateway to the Antarctic; hop aboard a boat to explore the marine and bird life of the Beagle Channel; and walk through the streets of the world's southernmost city of Ushuaia, surrounded by jagged mountain peaks.

Come experience the energy and passion of the Argentine "Tango". Performers from back home will bring a dizzying display of talent and beauty at our nightly shows.

Be sure to bring your appetite as you taste all that is "Made in Argentina" =96 choose from traditional dishes such as: empanadas (meat/veggie/chicken turnover), locro (corn stew), chorizo (spicy sausage) or Milanese (breaded beef sandwich), and for dessert try pasta frole (quince/sweet potato pie).

And before you leave, stock up on dulce de leche, a delicious caramel spread, and some yerbe mate tea! <bio>Camilo Torres is a respected freelance Web Marketer since 1999.
Just beneath the high mountain range of the African Atlas is the red city of Morocco known as Marrakech. With a culture that has grown to be so vibrant, free, and pure, who would have known that this imperial city only started as another pit stop for medieval caravans? However, regardless of its humble beginnings, you'll still be bound by its magic spell with the warmth of its people, inspiring history, and colorful tradition. Standing in the middle of the red city walls, you'll know for sure that you're in for a timeless escape with Marrakech travel. But to make the most out of your journey to this spellbinding exotic destination, here are the top eight things you shouldn't dare miss on your Marrakech travel:

=

1. Relive the memories of the old city.

The 13th century walls that surround the medina is reminiscent of ancient struggles and battles that took place in Morocco. A tour around the age-old fortresses, gates, and tanneries in your Marrakech travel is a good photo opportunity for tourists. Not only that, you'll also enjoy the inviting spirit of the modern city amidst the well-preserved relics, natural wonders, and architectural pieces of the past. With friendly people and bustling activities around the corner, you'll enjoy every minute of this experience.

2. Get lost with the crowd at Djemaa el Fna. This large square that lies at heart of the old city is teeming with too many spectacles and surprises. From bargain shopping to snake charming, you'll never have a dull moment in your Marrakech travel. Open your eyes to a lot of things, which include juggling acts, musical performances, as well as belly dancing. You don't even have to worry about losing your way back to your hotel. As overwhelmingly large as it can be, the square offers a winding escape to interesting sites around the city.

3. Take a spiritual retreat. They say that paying a visit to popular trails of mosques, churches, and other places of worship is a wonderful Marrakech travel experience that can be life-altering. However, for those who only wish to satisfy their curiosities, time is well-spent in admiring some of the most exquisite architectural designs in the world. You'll be stunned how Marrakech was able to preserve the intricate details and premedieval style of these structures but much more, how it preserved its solemnity. The famous pilgrimage for the "seven saints" is also found in this city, while the Saadian tombs is highly recommended by most tourist guides.

4. Shop and explore its very best. Popular market stands also known as "souks" offer the best treat for bargain shopping. The bazaar is usually filled with exotic finds such as metal works, wood pieces, baskets, and leather sets-- some of which, you'll only find in Morocco. You'll also be advised not to end your Marrakech travel without a belt, jewelry, carpet, or any form of clothing that are found in the souk.

5. Take a journey to the past. Marrakech is one of the best places to find age-old ceramics, paintings, mosaic, jewelries, and fabrics. Its museums house prestigious artifacts that date back to more than a thousand years. Manuscripts, contemporary arts, and traditional clothing are among the well-preserved collection. You may also take note in your Marrakech travel experience that museums here are not just brick-and-mortar structures but are also adorned with verdant gardens.

6. Stay in luxurious Riads in Marrakech. Your Marrakech travel experience will not be complete without staying in the city's famous Riads. These are residential facilities that top any 5-star hotel in modern cities. With luxurious rooms, overlooking views of the fountain, roof top terraces, and exquisite decorations, Riads are one of the best reasons to stay in Marrakech.

7. Experience the colorful tradition of Morocco. Embrace the Moroccan culture through entertainment activities and festivals in Marrakech. The Popular Arts Festival is a good way to add more life to your Marrakech travel adventures. Have a great time with fortune-tellers, fire swallowers, and acting troupes in the culmination of this festivity. Apart from carnival spectacles, you'll also witness the horse-riding parade known as Fantasia.

8. Treat yourself to fun-filled activities. Popular streams of casinos, discos, and bars are found in the city. But remember, alcoholic drinks are not allowed. Chances are, you'll have to stay sober all night. Apart from enjoying Western hits and Moroccan pop music, your Marrakech travel adventure can never be complete without experiencing a taste of its gourmet paradise. Most cafes and restaurants in Marrakech offer a fusion of flavors from home grown recipes to international dishes. <bio>Rcon Franchesca Pascua is an in-house writer for the online media company Intelligraph Corporation. With a lot of wonderful activities that await impassioned tourists, there's surely nothing to lose. But for you to make your Morocco adventure more pleasurable, first, you need to get the right hotel accommodation. Though hotels in Morocco are generally tourist-friendly, as a distinct traveler, you also have your own preferences that may not be provided by every hotel. As such, you should know whether or not the hotel will suit your specific needs and wants. In this case, a little break down of options might help. Here are some of the questions you should ask yourself before you finally pick a hotel:

Do I want a luxurious hotel or just a simple place to stay?

Travelers differ when it comes to their choices of hotel. Some like costly hotels, while others prefer the simple and homey abodes. If you're the type of traveler who chooses to stay in a five-star hotel, some of the great options are Atlas Riad Medina and Spa in Marrakech, Riad Des Golfs in Agadir, Le Royal Mansour Meridien in Casablanca, and Sofitel Palais Jamai in Fez. On the other hand, there are also less extravagant yet cozy hotels in Morocco. Dar Zitoune in Taroudant, Kenzi Farah Hotel in Marrakech, Zaki Hotel in Meknes, and Menzeh Zalagh in Fez are only some of the inexpensive hotels that offer a comfortable place to rest with convenient services.

Do I need a hotel that is family-oriented or should I go for a hotel that is convenient for business?

A tour in Morocco is a dream come true for most travelers. From ordinary citizens to big-time businessmen, tourists who flock in this country definitely have varying needs. In choosing from the long list of hotels in Morocco, bear in mind the real purpose of your stay. If you're on a family vacation, better choose a hotel with areas for recreation, so your family can have a great time together. For your children, make sure that the hotel also has a play area or a day care service. Meanwhile, on business trips with your colleagues, hotels with convention halls and good Internet connection would be perfect for you.

Do I want a hotel that has a window view of nature or do I prefer a hotel that has nearby shopping centers, bars, and parks?

Your choice of a hotel must be based on your interests. Nature-loving tourists choose to stay in a hotel that gives them a great view of verdant landscapes and tranquil blue ocean. If you want to experience nature even inside the hotel, you must try Pasha Baghdadi Massriya in Fez or Hotel Ali and Kasbah Agafay in Marrakech. They offer excellent views of the lush garden as well as great sunset. Meanwhile, if shopping and entertainment are your top priorities, you have to stay in a hotel that is located at the heart of the city. Some hotels in Morocco that are located in the city center are The Agadir Beach Club Hotel, Anezi Hotel Agadir, and Hyatt Regency in Casablanca.

The key to finding great hotels in Morocco is knowing your priorities very well. Once you have good grasp of what you truly want, getting the hotel that you deserve will be so much easier. <bio>Gwen Llana is an in-house writer for the online media company Intelligraph Corporation. From an elegant city with wide boulevards to clean-whitewashed beaches and a sparkling new harbour, sightseeing opportunities abound in Alicante. Don't forget to bring along your camera to capture all those magic moments!

Eating Out in Alicante:

As is the case with most tourst friendly cities in Spain, Alicante boasts a wide range of restaurants offering cuisine from around the world including Thai Indian, Turkish and Moroccan cuisine. If you're on a budget Tapas is an excellent way to fill your tummy without emptying your pockets! The now world famous Tapas bars actually started life in Alicante. Montaditos are must. These tasty snacks are placed on a slice of crusty bread and handed out free to customers. If you're looking to get an authentic taste for the city, it's worth sampling local specialities such as grilled red mullet in oil, garlic and parsley, smoked sausages and saffron flavoured fish stew. While on the subject of soups, be sure to sample tasty 'oleta' broth or net fresh sardines grilled on the barbeque.

Day Trips/Events in Alicante:

If you can drag yourself away from Alicante for a few hours, you'll find a plethora of wonderful day-trip destinations on the city's doorstep.
Nepal trekking holidays have long been popular with avid trekkers, who come from all over the world to explore the spectacular Nepalese mountains. The country enjoys the most dramatic part of the Himalayas, including the Annapurna mountain range and Mount Everest, and there are dozens of outstanding routes where you can go trekking in Nepal. From well known trips to off the beaten track adventures, there's a diverse range of routes available; here are five of the very best...

Everest Base Camp

Naturally, if you are interested in a Nepal trekking holiday, Everest is going to be near the top of your list of places to visit. Getting to the top of the world's tallest mountain requires extensive mountaineering experience (and a lot of money!), but Everest Base Camp (the starting point for serious attempts on the summit) can be reached by any trekker in good shape.

There are numerous routes used to get to Everest Base Camp, ranging from the classic route, to off-the-beaten-track routes, to treks that retrace the steps of the original explorers who climbed and conquered Everest. But, however you get there, the area around Everest (including the beautiful Gokyo Lakes and the summit of Kala Pattar) is truly one of the best places to go trekking in Nepal.

The Annapurna Circuit

The Annapurna Massif is well known to veteran trekkers -- it is regarded as the most spectacular mountain range in the Himalayas, if not the world. The Annapurna Circuit is one of the classic Nepal trekking holidays, with the 300 kilometre route, around the giant peaks of the Annapurnas, taking in many different kinds of terrain - verdant fields, pine forest, deep canyons, high mountain passes and snow capped peaks. It is one of the longer treks in Nepal, taking up to twenty days but, starting from around 800m, it offers a gradual acclimatisation in reaching the Thorong La -- the highest pass -- at 5,415m. Many regional experts claim that if you go on just one trek in Nepal, the Annapurna Circuit is the one to do.

Into the Annapurna Sanctuary

At the centre of the Annapurna mountains is the Annapurna Sanctuary, a stunning glacial plateau ringed by massive peaks, including Annapurna I, the tenth highest mountain on Earth (8,091m). While the classic Annapurna Circuit trek circles around the mountain range, a trek to the Annapurna Sanctuary takes you through one of the valleys and into the heart of the massif itself, giving you the opportunity to visit Annapurna base camp and enjoy some of the best views of the mountains themselves.

Mera Peak

The most famous treks in Nepal include circuits of the big mountain ranges, or a walk to Everest Base Camp. But many people who go trekking in Nepal won't be satisfied until they've conquered a significant peak -- for these summit hunters, Mera Peak is the highest mountain in Nepal that can be reached by trekking (rather than by climbing), standing at 6,476m. Most routes begin in a beautiful forest in the Hinku Valley before beginning the long ascent up to the peak itself, and the views of the Himalayan mountains from the top are spectacular.

Trek to Kangchenjunga

It is not as well known as the other Nepal treks on this list, but the trek to Kangchenjunga is perfect for those who want to get away from the crowds -- despite being the third highest mountain in the world, it is rarely visited by outsiders. It is a long, hard walk to Kangchenjunga, over several high passes, but the intrepid trekker is rewarded with a trip to a seldom explored corner of Nepal; camping en route near remote villages and under towering peaks, before heading up to one (or both!) of the Kangchenjunga base camps.<bio>Jude Limburn Turner is the Marketing Manager for Mountain Kingdoms, an adventure tour company who have provided Nepal trekking holidays for over 20 years. They now offer treks and tours worldwide, including destinations in North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Central and South East Asia.</bio>
