In addition to Eminem's rather introverted, serious, or self-contained side, he has a wild streak and urge for emotional freedom that breaks through erratically. Eminem craves both stability and excitement, and the conflict between these two impulses can make Mathers rather tense and irritable. However, they can also balance one another. His more free and unpredictable side will now be described.

He is uninhibited and spontaneous and will often do something unexpected or humorous in order to loosen people up and get them out of their ruts. Eminem craves emotional stimulation, excitement, surprises, and anything new. Mathers also loves to feel free and unfettered.

His emotional tension could be quite strong and the pressure may seem unbearable at times. He may have a sudden desire to liberate himself from the stress and may release his tension towards women. Eminem could also feel lonely and depressed at times.

On the other hand, Eminem is quietly devoted and faithful to his loved ones, and often becomes a kind of servant to his love partner. Eminem is more comfortable showing love for someone by doing something for them, making something for them, or simply being there for them - rather than telling them so in a romantic, soul-stirring sort of way. He is timid about expressing too much sentiment or emotion. Eminem also underestimates his attractiveness and lovability and doubts his own worthiness to receive love and appreciation.

Eminem is attracted to foreigners, exotic places, traveling, and to people who can expand his horizons, teach him something, or show Mathers places and worlds he has never experienced before. Sharing a philosophy or ideal with his love partner is important to him. Also, Eminem feels love and kinship for people everywhere, not only with his own family, nationality, or group. Finding similarities and making links between people from differing backgrounds or with different perspectives is a gift of his. <bio>Article can be reprinted with copyright addressed to Shlomo Tommer, partner with Top Synergy Relationships Group [http://www.topsynergy.com/], and editor of Eminem's Astro Profile [http://famous-relationships.topsynergy.com/Eminem/]. </bio>

"The real 'haves' are they who can acquire freedom, self-confidence, and even riches without depriving others of them. They acquire all of these by developing and applying their potentialities. On the other hand, the real 'have nots' are they who cannot have aught except by depriving others of it. They can feel free only by diminishing the freedom of others, self-confident by spreading fear and dependence among others, and rich by making others poor." - Eric Hoffer

How does it strike you when I say, 'I love money'? I love wealth and affluence and abundance.

What do you think when you read that?

Some people say, 'Well, duh. Everyone loves money.'

There are others who will feel uncomfortable with an unfettered love of affluence.

There's a Bible passage that says, 'It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" (Matthew 19:24) And perhaps you grew up with the idea that loving money and wealth is greedy.

Not feeling worthy, issues of deserveability plague many people and our relationships to money can be very complicated, as can our desire to accumulate wealth.

For the most part, our culture, especially compared to some horribly impoverished nations, is a very rich one. And our position of relative affluence can inspire feelings of crippling guilt in contrast.

It's complex.

By immersing ourselves in the flow of an affluent mindset, we create and attract more to us.

To create more, to expand our universes, we create a vacuum in our lives in relation to affluence so that the universe will respond by giving us more of what we are asking.

Here's the deal with money:

Money is its own energy and it's a very specific, precise energy and you have to learn to get into the flow of money or else it will control you. I work all the time to stay in alignment with that and to make it even more prevalent in my life.

You need to be realistic. Your goals can't be outlandish. An example of outlandish: 'I'm going to make a million dollars this year' when you've never even made $100,000 before. If your goal is 'undoable' in your subconscious mind, you'll sabotage yourself from the get go. But you can increase your expectations as time goes on. This will get you into the flow of affluence.

Money is like an ocean. . . there is so much more of it that you can or should ever take for just yourself. There is plenty to go around.

Like the water in the ocean, the only shortage is in your ability to carry it home. And even that's not a shortage, you just need to learn how to do it.

All you have to do is create a specific strategy to extract what you want. And you can grow or diminish it at will. But if you don't do it at will, it's going to do it to you. It's going to tell you how much you can have and how much you need and what you can do. It's going to be in control of you all of the time.

We simply need to understand that we're in control, that we can manifest whatever it is we want at will.

It's that simple, while at the same time, profound. Change your attitude about money, and it's flow, and watch as you accumulate more of what you want. <bio>Kenrick Cleveland teaches techniques to earn the business of affluent clients using persuasion.
Work Out, a fitness-based docu-drama featuring trainer to the stars, Jackie Warner and the opening of her new workout facility, was Bravo's sleeper hit of the summer of 2006. Work Out gained viewers near the end of its short television run, drawing in an audience of close to one million for its finale. The finale was above and beyond the most viewed episode of the show, inspiring Bravo President, Laura Zalaznick, to consider another installation of the series.

Zalaznick states, "We are doing jumping jacks in the halls today at Bravo. With Work Out we've introduced a dynamic new personality, Jackie Warner, who has connected and inspired viewers with her passionate and focused approach to life."

Jackie Warner, owner of Sky Sport and Spa in Beverly Hills, California, is an out and proud lesbian who engaged viewers with an honest look at her professional and personal life. Much of the reality series focused on Jackie's love relationship with then girlfriend Mimi, a woman 10 years Warner's junior. Warner opened Sky Sport and Spa in 2004, coming to the attention of Bravo after a cameo appearance in Jonathan Antin's reality series Blow Out. The source of most of the show's success is the rollercoaster of a relationship between Warner and her younger girlfriend, both of whom battle for control of each other. As Sky Sport develops as a celebrity work out center, media and public attention grows tenfold for Jackie, who travels all over the country to train famous and wealthy clients. Mimi responds to the frequent trips with anger and jealousy; in fact, her jealous rages included throwing a drink at Warner in a bar, biting Warner's hand until she drew tears, and stomping on pictures of Sky Sport's female clientele. The finale brings the relationship problems to a new level, as Mimi is carried out of Warner's celebration by security. Warner was left with no choice but to accept that the relationship does not fit her professional lifestyle.

Work Out gave its viewers an unfettered glimpse into the 24/7 life of a professional woman who identifies as a lesbian. Another central issue during the series was the strife between Warner and her mother, a highly religious woman who shuns her daughter's personal life. All audiences, straight and gay, male and female, can relate to Warner's unbridled passion for success and her quest to live a well balance life of career, family and personal growth. Audiences hope to see Work Out return for another run on Bravo in 2007. <bio>Find more out about Bravo's Work Out and the entire reality t.v. world at http://www.reality-stars-network.com </bio>

Many perceive Santeria as a bizarre an undesirable amalgamation of primitive, pagan beliefs and Roman Catholicism. Many believe the religion to be a dangerous, perhaps even Satanic, variation of Voodoo featuring zombies, indiscriminate animal sacrifices and other totems that make those from "first world" religious backgrounds uneasy.

The truth behind Santeria is far less ominous. Santeria is a legitimate religion with roots that trace deep back into history.

European colonization of the "new world" brought with it the importation of slavery. Many slaves were Yoruba's (that territory lies in what is now a part of modern-day Nigeria). The Yorubans practiced a highly evolved religion that included multiple Orishas, which can be roughly understood as beneficial forces akin to saints in Christian religious practices or lesser deities in polytheistic religions. Yorubans understood the concept of "Ashe," the life force of every person, and developed a number of worship and celebration rituals.

Slaveholders found the idea of Yoruban religious practices add odds with their own ostensibly Christian belief structure. Fearing the unique customs of the Yorubans and understanding the risk its unfettered practice could have upon the institution of slavery, European colonists in the Americas attempt to destroy the faith and while the Catholic Church worked to convert slaves to Christianity.

The religion we now call Santeria, however, did not die. It went undercover instead. Yoruban slaves worshipped the Orishas, but they disguised the figures as Catholic saints. While dancing to the sacred Yoruban drums would not have been tolerated, considerately praying before a representation of a Catholic saint was encouraged. In reality, those prayers were not directed to the Christian martyrs, but to the Orishas. This practice is the source of the name "Santeria," a Spanish word referring to the worship of Saints.

Yorubans continued other rituals and practices of their faith covertly, as well. Due to the historical context, the traditions were necessarily cloaked in secrecy. This allowed the religion to survive, but gave it an air of mystery that survives today.

Santeria does involve a level of mysticism to which many from Judeo-Christian backgrounds are not accustomed and limited animal sacrifices under specific circumstances (primarily chickens) can be practiced by Santerians. However, those who perceive the faith as a dark and dangerous force are incorrect. Santeria represents the survival of peaceful and ancient traditional African religion against tremendous odds. It is still practiced today in many parts of the Caribbean and the United States. <bio>Nelstar Online Services INC Yoruba and Lucumi produts at the lowers prices http://www.auctions609.com </bio>

>From the time I was a very little girl I have known of my father's dream to have a little house by the sea. It didn't have to be a fancy house, for all he cared it could be a surf shack, but he wanted to wake up to the sun and sand, and drift off to sleep listening to the sound of the waves lapping the sand. While he doesn't exactly have a house on the beach, he did live on a boat for a while and now resides in the US Virgin Islands. He's most definitely in easy driving distance of the beach.

His dream is a dream that many people share. I'm more the cabin in the mountain type, but I do understand my father's love of the ocean. It's a mystical source of both inspiration and awe. I do feel that staring out over endless miles of water is perhaps the second best way to comprehend how big the world really is. Of course you can see an endless blue sky (which is in my opinion the best way to understand) and if you ever have had the good fortune to look at the night skies over the ocean, unfettered by city lights then you'll understand what I meant by mystical and awe inspiring.

So the question inevitably arrives, is a beach house a wise investment? In light of the last two hurricane seasons, even seasoned coast dwellers are beginning to ask themselves the same question. The truth, in dollars and sense, is that almost anywhere you live in America, there is some sort of environmental risk associated with living in there. The truth is also that the last two hurricane seasons have been unlike anything we've seen in history. I grew up in Mississippi and even though Camille was before I was born, I watched many of the scars she left behind heal and grow into a thriving community that until last summer was the Mississippi gulf coast. The point I'm trying to make is that you have to decide for yourself which risks you are willing to take with your investment and remember to be properly insured (this includes a rider clause for flood zones as flood damage is not covered by traditional home owners insurance).

One thing I can tell you about owning a beach home is that if you scout your location and choose wisely, a beach home is rarely difficult to sell and almost always gains value over time rather than loosing value. You would have to let your beach house fall into a serious state of disrepair or environmental damage in order to lose money on the deal. You can find beach houses ranging in size, styles, and price from the meager and modest to the outlandish and outrageous with price tags to match. Well the outlandish and outrageous. One thing you will be hard pressed to find is cheap real estate on the beach.

If you are considering purchasing a beach house, I say go for it. Make sure that you are adequately insured for all contingencies (as we all should try to do with all things in life) and take your risks. Investing in real estate is always a risky endeavor, beach front properties are really and truly no riskier than anywhere else and if you take the proper precautions, you may find that the joy you experience from you beach home is hardly dampened by the risks involved in the process. <bio>Gray Rollins is a featured writer for YourVacationHomes.
From the privacy of your own home, you can surf to any website on the Internet without worrying about being blocked. However, this is usually not the case when you're surfing from work or school. Despite all the positive things you can do on the web, businesses who provide their employees unfettered access to the Internet may also be opening themselves up to lowered productivity when the employees use their access to surf porn, play games or do their shopping while they are supposed to be working. Likewise, there are few, if any, schools without Internet access. However, schools certainly can't run the risk of allowing their younger students to access porn or other illegal or inappropriate materials, of which there is an abundance online. Bandwidth is also a consideration. The American military in Iraq recently started blocking Internet access to certain high bandwidth websites, like Youtube and Myspace, due to bandwidth consumption concerns. Internet video, streaming audio and online games generally consume the largest amount of bandwidth. Blocking these sites surely must have dropped the military's bandwidth consumption a great deal.

The problem with blocking websites from your employees or students is that many times a student or employee will have a legitimate reason to use a blocked website. Take Myspace or Facebook users, for instance. They may need to respond to an important message about a meeting or respond to other legitimate and important correspondence.

This legitimate problem has one easy solution, and that is, the proxy site.

What is a proxy?

It is simply a website which allows a user to type in the URL of the site they want to go to, then you hit enter and it will fetch the webpage from it's cache or fetch the latest version of the page for your viewing. Surfing to sites in this manner, by "proxy", means that the owner of the site cannot tell that you have visited the site, your IP address is hidden and won't be recorded and that only the address of the proxy is recorded by the site. Surfing by proxy is useful in order to surf to sites that are blocked by your Internet service provider, company or school, because while you may be visiting a site that is blocked, your Internet service provider, company or school will only be able to tell that you visited a proxy site, not the site that you visited WITH the proxy.

Why use a proxy?

- Proxy surfing is more private than regular surfing, your private information is hidden - Proxy surfing allows you to access sites that are blocked by your company or school - Proxy surfing can be faster than surfing on a normal Internet connection, because you can set options to not download website objects like images, scripts, forms and cookies, all of which take additional time to download.

Where to find proxy sites?

There are many proxy directories, which maintain a list of the latest proxy sites available as well as established proxies. You can also search proxy topsites, which maintain a list of proxy sites by popularity. In addition, you can simply search for proxy sites on any search engine. <bio>Charles Quinn writes for http://www.proxyowl.info/ and http://www.anonfox.info, two reliable and effective proxy sites to allow users to surf the web without boundaries or limitations. </bio>

Candida is a type of yeast that is always present in the human body and it is normally benign. However, when it grows unchecked it can cause a variety of health problems throughout the body. The longer candida growth continues unfettered the more severe the problems can become. Research is now just beginning to scratch the surface on how harmful excess candida can actually be. The initial findings are stunning: candida may be the root cause of a long list of physical and emotional symptoms. Fortunately, there are many ways to treat candida.

Typically, those with candida have compromised immune systems, although this is not always the case. In recent years medical researchers have begun to realize that there might be benefits in treating healthy people who have experienced an overgrowth of candida. It appears to be a worthwhile approach that scientists and researchers are scrambling to understand.

When treating candida, it is important to remember that it is just a substance that is normally present in the body -- the problems only occur when there is much more of it then there should be. Have you ever heard the expression 'too much of a good thing is no good at all'? - this saying applies directly to candida growth.

The most common form of treatment for candida is through the use of antibiotics. Since it is excess bad bacteria that allows yeast to grow which causes Candida, certain antibiotics will help destroy the overgrowth. However, antibiotics also kill good bacteria -- they don't discriminate -- and the use of antibiotics can have an adverse effect on the rest of the body. You can compare it to chemotherapy in a sense -- chemotherapy destroys cancerous cells, however, it also destroys healthy tissue. Your body requires a healthy balance of bacteria to keep its systems running at top speed. In fact, your digestive tract in particular requires helpful bacteria to ensure proper digestive functioning.

It is common for many women to develop yeast infections while they are taking prescription antibiotics. This occurs due to the fact that the good bacteria keep yeast formation in check. Furthermore, the widespread use of antibiotics has limited their ability to fight against bacteria. Common use has allowed bacteria to adapt to particular antibiotics, potentially rendering them ineffective. Also, if you are taking antibiotics, it is extremely important to finish the entire course. Many people start feeling better and simply stop taking the pills. This can allow remaining bacteria to develop immunity to that specific antibiotic.

Another method of treating candida is through the employment of probiotics. Put simply, probiotics are other forms of live bacteria that are good for the body. Probiotics are available in powders, capsules, and even in some types of yogurt.

These represent the main medical treatments for candida. It is important that you ensure your body has a good balance of bacteria in order for it to function well. Sometimes candida growth can occur in healthy people and research has proven this fact. It is paramount that you do everything possible to limit candida growth as the consequences of letting it run unchecked can be extremely detrimental to your health. <bio>Jane Symms has an interest in Candida.
Telesales, also known as telemarketing, has earned a bad reputation in many business circles. Before consumer's legislation, telesales agents or telemarketers had unfettered access to potential clients. Anyone with a telephone listing was guaranteed an evening call from an unsolicited sales person.

But that doesn't mean that telesales has to be a dead business avenue. In fact, telemarketing continues to play an incredibly important role in the sales process. It's far more efficient to use highly trained, inside sales personnel to call, answer questions, promote businesses, and develop sales than it is to employ an expensive outside sales force.

Telesales is especially effective because it closes the gap that is often created between the time of marketing (or the purchase of leads), and the time sales people can contact prospective leads. Telemarketing can easily make those marketing leads even more effective by truly qualifying them over the phone. Rather than a wasted face-to-face visit, a good telesales associate can qualify the potential client, find out who the decision makers are, and produce documented leads for the outside sales force.

In fact, in many instances, telesales associates have eliminated the need for outside sales associates. With so much commerce done over the Internet and via catalogs, telephone sales people can provide much of the same information as an outside sales associate. Clients are able to view products or samples over the web, while the telemarketing professional answer questions, up-sells when appropriate and creates a strong client relationships.

Of course, telesales or telemarketing is not a job for just anyone. This job requires some very specific skills. Along with all the other sales skills you associate with a selling position, the telemarketer also has to have the ability to be persuasive on the phone, to use their voice in a manner that attracts attention, establishes camaraderie, and shows enthusiasm. Some of the best sales people are people persons. They like to get out there and meet new people. A telemarketer has to have those same skills, yet be quite content to sit behind a desk in a cubicle or phone bank. They also have to have a thick skin. This is one of the jobs that virtually guarantees angry hang-ups in response to calls.

Fortunately, outsourcing has made inside phone sales an affordable method for adding to a sales staff. Many outsourcing agencies offer highly skilled telemarketers =96 able to work around the clock to contact your clients all over the globe. In addition, these companies also offer continual supervision for the sales staff. They demand that the sales person meet a certain standard for professionalism and offer on-going training to improve quality control and customer service.

Adding a telesales or telemarketing staff can be one of the most effective methods for increasing your business sales. However, it is a decision that needs to be carefully balanced by available staff, appropriate skills, or funds for outsourcing. Using telephone sales people can be a great way to connect with clients and establish a fast method of sales =96 but make sure you have the right people in place to represent your company over the phone. <bio>James Copper is a writer for http://www.marketinglinx.com </bio>

Her charismatic personality has a powerful emotional impact on others, especially those of the opposite sex. Casta may use her attractiveness to manipulate others even realizing it. She also tends to make up her mind quickly in matters of love relationships and affection and can fall in love at first sight, with high expectations about the intensity of the new romance

Also, Laetitia responds strongly to the emotional tone and atmosphere around her, and can be dominated by her fluctuating and unpredictable moods. She may appear irrational to others because she cannot always explain the reason or source of her feelings, and anyone who lives with Laetitia Casta must accept her ups and downs and respect her need for times of withdrawal. She also takes slights and rebuffs very personally and though she may forgive a transgression by a friend or loved one, she never forgets it.

On the other hand, Laetitia is very sympathetic and understands the unspoken feelings and needs of others. She may have traveled extensively in her early years, or something in her background may have enabled her to understand and identify with many different types of people or cultures. She is tolerant and forgiving and always ready to overlook mistakes and give others a second chance. Laetitia draws out the best from people and she enjoys making others comfortable and happy. Because of her emotional generosity, her life is rich with friends, and often financial blessings as well.

Casta has cravings for things that are far away and foreign, or that she has never experienced before. She wants to completely immerse herself in the feelings and tastes of a new place, rather than simply acquire facts or an intellectual appreciation. Emotionally as well Laetitia is restless and somewhat of a wanderer. She is also uninhibited and spontaneous and will often do something unexpected or humorous in order to loosen people up and get them out of their rut. Laetitia Casta craves emotional stimulation, excitement, and surprises, and she also loves to feel free and unfettered.

Due to her intense desires and feelings, Laetitia's personal relationships are deeply emotional, passionate and often stormy and painful as well. She shares powerful and magnetic relationships with those she cares about, and she could even become emotionally obsessed by another person. Her feelings can become so urgent and compelling that she behaves irrationally, mainly during periodic emotional upheavals and purging when she must break all ties with the past and begin anew.

Laetitia Casta is more interested in her partner's sense of humor and intelligence than in her physique. She needs a partner who is mentally alive and keeps her guessing, and she becomes restless and bored with someone who never asks questions, never changes or doesn't surprise her. It is also important for to Laetitia to talk, share ideas, go places, and learn new things together. Laetitia Casta needs a lot of social stimulation. She is also somewhat of a flirt, and likes to have many friends of both sexes. That is why Casta finds possessive and jealous partners very stifling. <bio>Article can be reprinted with copyright addressed to Shlomo Tommer, partner with Top Synergy Relationships Group [http://www.topsynergy.com/], and editor of Laetitia Casta's Astro Profile [http://famous-relationships.topsynergy.com/Laetitia_Casta/]. </bio>

Cristiano Ronaldo is uninhibited and spontaneous and will often do something unexpected or humorous in order to loosen people up and get them out of their rut. Cristiano Ronaldo craves emotional stimulation, excitement, surprises and anything new. Ronaldo also loves to feel free and unfettered. Yet, he is likely to have a certain fear of crowds and may have a tendency to be agoraphobic. Ronaldo loves to laugh, celebrate and enjoy himself with his companions. Emotionally open and easygoing, Cristiano considers just about anyone a friend or potential friend. His good humor and friendliness make him quite popular and well liked. At times, Cristiano Ronaldo overdoes the festivities, but he rarely regrets it.

His love feelings and desires are easily aroused but he may find it difficult to sustain his romantic interest in relationships after the exciting initial phase. Cristiano Ronaldo enjoys a dynamic partner with a strong independent streak, and he does not like things to become too peaceful or predictable in the love arena. Cristiano wants to see sparks fly once in awhile, even if it means instigating a fight.

Cristiano wants to be adored, and it is difficult for anyone to resist the warmth and attention Ronaldo lavishes on those he cares about. Cristiano Ronaldo has a great deal of pride and needs to be recognized and appreciated. The way to really hurt his feelings is to ignore him.

Cristiano Ronaldo is extremely amorous and it is difficult for him to go without romantic relationships for very long. When he is attracted to someone, Cristiano Ronaldo pursues her very ardently and sometimes comes on too strong. Being engaged in creative or artistic work can also satisfy his very strong desire for love and beauty.

He often hides his affection, or finds his feelings difficult to express or get across to the person he loves. Being openly affectionate and trusting often does not seem safe to Cristiano.

He may feel his love will not be appreciated or reciprocated. Cristiano Ronaldo may get involved in secret love relationships or fall in love with a person who is quite unavailable to him. Cristiano Ronaldo has a very romantic, idealistic vision of love relationships and may be disillusioned to discover that no real, flesh-and-blood human being ever quite lives up to his dream image of the perfect love. Though Cristiano frequently fantasizes about love and romance - he may avoid becoming intimately involved with anyone or making definite commitments. When it comes to love, Ronaldo can be evasive and dishonest with himself and others.

He is prone to getting involved in highly intense, even obsessive relationships. At its darkest, this urge for intensity in the personal arena may compel Cristiano Ronaldo to choose friends or mates who are rather dangerous or dishonorable characters with a penchant for manipulating and inflicting pain on their loved ones. On the other hand, Ronaldo may be tempted to use his own sexuality or charm to play the same sort of game, to use love or friendship as a bargaining chip or to gain power over others. Even if his intentions are basically good, Cristiano Ronaldo will find that his closest relationships are rather tumultuous affairs in which some rather unsavory aspects of his character, such as jealousy and the desire to dominate or to be a victim, keep surfacing. These are qualities that need to be understood and ultimately outgrown.

Ronaldo's ties to his mother are very strong and Cristiano also seeks nurturing and protection from his spouse and other family members. <bio>Article can be reprinted with copyright addressed to Shlomo Tommer, partner with Top Synergy Relationships Group [http://www.topsynergy.com/], and editor of Cristiano Ronaldo's Astro Profile [http://famous-relationships.topsynergy.com/Cristiano_Ronaldo/]. </bio>

You may remember spring cleaning the way I do. Everything was scrubbed, scoured, dusted, cleaned and aired. Today spring cleaning isn't always done as extensively as it was when I was a child. I remember washing windows and blinds, searching out any cobwebs that formed during the winter, opening all the windows and letting fresh air in. I also remember cleaning everything =96 whether it was nailed down or not. Spring cleaning was a major undertaking, often requiring several days to complete.

I do my spring cleaning still. I search out cobwebs, bring in fresh air, and wash windows, curtains and the like. One thing I don't do today is put slipcovers on all the furniture. I don't know very many people who do that any more. But in a way, I miss it. I remember putting fitted slipcovers in light and bright colors on all the furniture for the warm weather months. It completely changed the look and feel of the rooms. It was a nice change. When the cleaning was done and the summer slipcovers were on the furniture the whole house felt fresh and clean and new.

Another part of spring cleaning was cleaning out things we no longer needed. When we were children, we collected the toys we had outgrown, clothes that no longer fit us, and anything else we no longer wanted or needed. I have been thinking about those days for the last few months. I recently cleaned out my garage in anticipation of spring cleaning. I was amazed by the amount of stuff I had collected. I was also surprised =96 and a bit nostalgic =96 about the things my children had stored in the house.

All this thought about spring cleaning, however, also makes me think about how important it is for all of us to engage in a little spring cleaning of the mind and heart and soul. I don't know if my mother consciously thought about other kinds of cleaning when she attacked the collected dirt of winter, but I find that my cleaning and scrubbing is a good time to think. I have been using spring cleaning as a time for reflection for a number of years now. I use that time for reflection to try to do a little spring cleaning of mind, heart and soul.

What I mean is this. We gather, and often nurture, feelings and thoughts that clutter our minds and souls, making them dingy. I love using that house cleaning time to think about and deal with things that I need to free myself of in order to be happier. We often don't realize that deep in our minds and hearts we still carry, and even nurture, old anger or resentment. We often don't realize that we are carrying guilt and frustration and various kinds of hurt. I think spring cleaning is the perfect opportunity to think about and free ourselves of these kinds of thoughts and feelings.

As you do your spring cleaning this year, I would challenge you to do a little spring cleaning of your heart, mind and soul and enjoy a fresh breeze invigorating your happiness. While you are scrubbing, think of old resentments, anger and guilt. And focus your mind on dealing with them and removing the clutter they have created. While you search for cobwebs, search out your frustrations and your fears. By the time you finish your housecleaning, you can also create an unfettered and uncluttered mind and soul that is ready to embrace the promise of a brighter and lighter season. <bio>Dr. Cynthia Barnett is a "refired" educator who had reinvented her life moving from the school house to an entrepreneurial venue..
Victoria Beckham has a very romantic, idealistic vision of love and relationships, and she may be disillusioned to discover that no real, flesh-and-blood human being ever quite lives up to her dream image of the perfect love. However, even though she frequently fantasizes about love and romance - she may avoid becoming intimately involved with anyone or making definite commitments. Beckham can be evasive and dishonest with herself and others when it comes to love.

Victoria's longing for love may be expressed through art, music or an involvement with mysticism. She also gets a lot of emotional fulfillment through her involvement in groups, clubs, organizations, community activities, or networks of close friends who support and care for her. Beckham needs friends, mainly ones with whom she can share some ideals or beliefs that she holds dear. At any rate, Victoria Beckham needs close relationships with people outside of her physical family, and she is quietly supportive and faithful to her friends and loved ones.

She is uninhibited and spontaneous and will often do something unexpected or humorous in order to loosen people up and get them out of their rut. Victoria Beckham craves emotional stimulation, excitement, surprises and anything new. Beckham also loves to feel free and unfettered. She is very compassionate and loves to share her feelings with others. Victoria Beckham is always in search for new relationships and enjoys working together with others in groups, clubs or associations that support an atmosphere that is open and experimental; Victoria has little taste for convention and tradition.

She is assertive and confronts difficulties in a direct, no-nonsense sort of way. Victoria Beckham cannot tolerate self-pity or passivity, and she can be rather brusque with others' emotional problems. She is not easily moved by emotional displays and can be curiously detached from her own emotions and those of others. Family relationships and attachments are not as important to her, and Beckham often considers her friends closer to her than her blood relatives. In her personal relationships, Victoria Beckham insists upon independence and the freedom to pursue friendships with as many people, of both sexes, as she chooses. Victoria does not appreciate a jealous, possessive partner.

Victoria can get hot under the collar rather easily, but she also has a certain degree of emotional self-control and composure, which enable her to rein in some of her more aggressive tendencies. This is thanks to her inner poise and balance that enables her to act in a cool, efficient manner during emotional trauma and stress. She maintains her perspective and objectivity about highly charged emotional issues, sometimes even to the dismay of others who wish that Beckham would react more intensely.

Victoria's thinking is dictated by her feelings and she may rely on her intuitions and impressions rather than practical means. Her advice may often be sought and heeded, because Victoria Beckham seems to know and understand what motivates others. Tremendously sympathetic, Victoria Beckham gives very selflessly and devotedly to those she loves and often allows others to become overly dependent upon her. She may even become romantically involved with a person because they express a need for love, rather than out of mutual pleasure or attraction.

Victoria Beckham is drawn to sensitive, imaginative, gentle souls - poets, musicians, dreamers, where she feels that she can have a deep spiritual relationship with. As said before, she idealizes love and has a very beautiful, romantic vision of what love relationships can be. Best for Victoria is to fall in love with someone who is successful, noble and idealistic.

She is kindhearted and generous with both her money and her affections, and she is not happy if she has to budget or restrict herself in any way. No pettiness or stinginess is allowed, and Victoria feels most comfortable in an elegant, beautiful atmosphere. She also enjoys sponsoring social events or cultural activities. <bio>Article can be reprinted with copyright addressed to Shlomo Tommer, partner with Top Synergy Relationships Group [http://www.topsynergy.com/], and editor of Victoria Beckham's Astro Profile [http://famous-relationships.topsynergy.com/Victoria_Beckham/]. </bio>

Your home is your most important investment, and a sunroom can be the most important addition to your investment. Give a thought to what you need to ensure that you'll be able to enjoy your sunroom as you expect.Your home is one of the most important investment you will make in your life. It can also be one of the most expensive investments you'll make. If you decide that you need more room and would like to add an addition to your home, you have several choices. You can add an additional room built in the same manner as the original architecture of the house, or you can add on a new and elegant sunroom.

There are many reasons to choose the sunroom. With a room with walls of glass, you'll be able to see out unfettered to enjoy every bit of your back garden, your trees, birds and squirrels, or your children busily playing. You won't have to be concerned with the oppressive heat of the day, unpleasant gusts of wind should the day be a cool one, or the ever-present insects that can spoil the most beautiful of days.

Natural sunlight. That's what you get from a room with walls of glass...you won't need to bother with the harsh lights of a lightbulb if you don't feel the need. But you don't want sunlight to come pouring into the room without hindrance - you'll find yourself squinting or feeling the need for sunglasses. However, with the proper type of glass, much of the light given off by the sun can be filtered out, so there'll be no annoying glare to spoil your pleasure of the room.

A room with walls of glass need to be insulated just as do walls of wood or brick. Most sunroom companies offer their own trademarked glass - they have engineers who spend their time trying to design the most efficient glass possible.

What do you need in glass for a sunroom?

You have to consider the R-Value. This measures the thermal resistance of a material, or how easily heat travels through it. The higher the R-Value, the greater the insulation - and the lower your energy cost swill be. An R-Value of 4.0 is suggested for the very best comfort.

Give a thought to the percentage of visible light transmitted through the glass. A visible light transmittance below 60 percent is is recommended for that glare-free natural lighting, as I mentioned above

And then there's the heat of the sun. Relative Heat Gain measures the heat gained through a glazing, and, indeed, can be more important to a glass room than the R-Value. You don't want a room that will be unbearably hot or expensive to keep cool. With a type of glass that doesn't gain a lot of heat, you'll ensure that that won't be the case.

In these days, it's possible to build a sunroom in anything from a few days to a week or so. And although sunrooms are pricey - you simply must not skimp on quality - they can be less expensive than traditional brick and mortar extensions.

DIY Sunroom Kits

If you'd like to have a sunroom but you don't want to have to pay a contractor to build it for you, you can always do it yourself. Most manufacturers offer do-it-yourself kits so that the handy home owner can be in charge of its construction from the beginning. You'll want to carefully gauge your skills and stick-to-it-tiveness if you choose this route. The addition of a sunroom can increase the value of your home, but only if it is built correctly. But if you have the necessary skills, you can indeed do it yourself.

The skills needed may vary. If you're going to build your sunroom onto a pre-existing deck or porch, you won't need as many skills as you would if you were going to build an entire room from scratch - necessitating the grading and preparation of a concrete slab on which to put the new structure. And if you intend to extend your home's heating and cooling system into the new room, that calls for another set of skills.

Sunroom Indoor Furniture

There's a vast array of furniture for the sunroom. Even though a great deal of harmful sunlight will be blocked out, you'll still want to go with furniture with removable cushions, so that you can replace any that fade. Wicker is the traditional furniture for the sunroom, but there's nothing to say you can't use elegant metals or wood. The addition of green plants and an aquarium or two will certainly add an elegant touch.

Most people use their sunroom as a family room, or a place for solitude and reflection. But some people like to experiment and put their kitchen into a sunroom, or their bedroom and even their bathroom. Those are something to think about, but with the complexities of the glass and the designs of the room, you might want to just stick with the tradition uses of a room with walls of glass. <bio>Andrew Caxton use to write on house additions and similar subjects for http://www.allsunrooms.com .
>From a global and historic perspective is seems as though Poland had reached its golden era around the 16th century during the wealthy and powerful Jagiellonian Dynasty and that it has been largely downhill ever since. The Polish have taken a tremendous beating during the second 500 years of their existence but have had remarkable and admirable success pulling their vast and stunningly beautiful land back together to make up today's modern Third Republic. Travel to Poland to experience fast-pasted cosmopolitan centers like Krakow, rewind in time in the horse-and-carriage countryside or lose yourself completely in one of the forested national parks.

Poland, Pillage and Plunder

Whether Poland has been synonymous with bridge or battlefield to its surrounding neighbors, the results have not been pleasant. As early as the 13th century, Polish states were ravaged by Mongolian raiders due to the lack of natural boundaries and its strategic position between east and west, which would again become a curse during the World Wars and the Cold War. There were few cities that emerged from WWII unscathed, but the baffling restorative reconstruction has left even the locals duped by the perfectly replicated Baroque and Gothic architecture. Thriving cities like Krakow and Warsaw are hubs of both traditional and modern Poland, showcasing contemporary art, classic jazz and an unfettered youthful spirit. Auschwitz Nazi Concentration Camp and Holocaust Museum is located just outside Krakow, which became the epicenter for the Nazi battle against Europe's Jews. Also in this area is a World Heritage Site known as Southern Little Poland where an enchanting collection of medieval wooden churches still stand among the Carpathian Mountains.

Hillside, Countryside, Seaside

Poland has a unique draw due to its positioning on the Baltic Sea and its shared borders with Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, and Russia. Poland today is finally the more tranquil, dynamic and cheaper cousin of its neighbors. Visit the Great Mazury Lake District in the northeast where nearly 15% of the area is covered by pristine lakes and canals, dotted with picturesque villages. This is a haven for cycling, canoeing and hiking. Don't miss the 13th century Malbork Castle, the headquarters for the Order of the Teutonic Knights, which holds the title as the largest medieval castle in Europe. Then, as you find your way to some of the Baltic seaside resorts, stop along the coast in Gdansk, the historic medieval Hanseatic trading city that was perfectly restored in the 20th century. While you make your way east to visit Bialowieski National Park in order to see Europe's last surviving native Bison, stop in the 14th century town of Torun to pay homage to Nicolaus Copernicus' place of birth. For skiing and hiking, the Sudeten Mountain Range winds through part of southern Poland, including the popular escapes in the Tetra Mountains.

Although the ravages of the 20th century are behind Poland, they are certainly not out of mind. The Polish have a blossoming culture that emerged vehemently from the violence and repression of the Cold War. The reactive and eager populace finally has found a place to shine artistically, politically (as part of NATO and the EU) and domestically with open arms to those curious about the Polish way of life. Travel to Poland and discover a proud and established nation that is equally as excited to finally welcome you! <bio>For more information, visit http://www.cfares.com.. </bio>

Many disabled persons have been denied long term disability benefits under their employers' disability plans because the insurance policies funding the plans gave the administrators nearly unfettered discretion to decide whether a person is disabled or not. With insurers getting to decide whether to pay or not, with little risk of being overruled, it is no wonder that insurers have done what is best for themselves, deny claims.

Now insurance policies issued in several states, including Michigan, funding those disability plans are prohibited from including the onerous "discretionary" clauses that give the plan administrators such power to reject claims.

Most recently federal courts in Michigan and Montana rejected insurance industry's challenges to the insurance department rulings, including Michigan administrative rules issued in February 2007 by the State of Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Services and rulings by the Montana Department of Insurance which prohibited disability and health insurers from including discretionary clauses in their policies.

These rulings come after other State Insurance Departments such as California, Utah, Maryland, and Indiana, prohibited such clauses and after the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) adopted a model health insurance code prohibiting those provisions. Several states have adopted this model code including Maine, Oregon, and Maryland.

Why is this so important? Disability plans issued by employers as an employee benefit plan fall under the regulation of the Employee Retirement Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). Under the case law developed for ERISA, if a benefit plan contains a discretionary clause, the decision of the plan administrator is upheld unless the claimant can show that the decision was arbitrary and capricious, a very difficult task for the disabled person. If there is any reasonable basis or information to support an insurer's denial of a claim, it will be upheld by the court. This is like starting with 2 outs and 2 strikes against you in the bottom of the ninth inning.

By eliminating discretionary clauses the courts are permitted to make a "de novo" review of all of the evidence of disability. That means it can decide whether the person is disabled or not based on all the evidence without giving the insurer such a big advantage by presuming their decision was right if there was any evidence to support it.

It is likely that the insurance industry will appeal the Michigan and Montana federal court rulings and will continue to challenge similar rulings by State Insurance Departments and courts as there is much at stake for both the insurers and disabled persons.

Endnotes:

1. Examples of Discretionary Clauses include:

a.". . . we have the full and exclusive authority to control and manage the Group Policy and resolve all questions arising in the administration, interpretation, and application of the Group Policy.

Our authority includes, but is not limited to:

.. . .

3.The right to determine: .. . . b.Entitlement to benefits; c.The amount of benefits payable; and d.The sufficiency and the amount of information we may reasonably require to determine a., b., or c. above." [Standard Insurance Co. policy].

b."When making a benefit determination under the policy, UNUM has discretionary authority to determine your eligibility for benefits and to interpret the terms and provisions of the policy."

2.American Council of Life Insurers, et al v. Linda A. Walters, ____ F. Supp. 2d ____, 2008 WL 541654 (2/29/08 W.D. Mich).. Standard Insurance Co. v. Morrison, ____ F. Supp. 2d ____, 2008 WL510053 (D.
Belgium =96 a beautiful country that is quite appropriately dubbed as the "Battlefield of Europe." Indeed, Belgium has had its share of wars. It has endured the rages of greedy kings and ambitious warlords from all epochs, but no war can diminish this country's beauty, making it an ideal place to visit.

1) Have a Cup of Hot Chocolate

No Belgium vacation can be without a trip to the capital city's famous sidewalk cafes. It is absolutely essential to drop by any of the several cafes littered in Brussels City and have yourself a sip of Belgium's famous rich hot chocolate. If there's anything that the beautiful country of Belgium can offer you, it's your sweet tooth's utter satisfaction.

2) Participate in the Carnival of Binche

Be a smart tourist and visit Belgium at the time of year when it's most festive. During the month of February, Belgium hosts its most colorful festival ever, the Cranival of Binche. With Firework displays and music parades and colorful costumes and projectile oranges, this certainly is a festival worth participating in. This festival is even included in UNESCO's heritage list.

3) Follow the Gourmet Trail

One of the greatest things about the Belgians is that they know good food like the back of their hands, and Belgium is known for its fine cuisines that are heavily influenced by the different countries that surround it. Try eating Belgium's Mussels, a shellfish dish, and see if your tongue agrees with the Belgian taste. Also, why not try Belgium's French Fries. It is, after all, the original.

4) Have Fun with a Fluvial Cruise

Hop on any one of Belgium's colorful boats and cruise around Belgium's waterways to have a perfect view of the various cities and towns lining the coastline. You can try the Lys River, which will take you to Bruges or Ghent. You can also try the Escaut river to reach Tournai and Bossuit.

5) Exercise Your Inner Scholar

Belgium is a country that places high stock on good education. Visit Ghent or Leuven, Belgium's student cities, and hurl yourself into local coffee shop and strike a conversation with any of the university students. You'll be sure to find an intellectual conversation anywhere.

6) Party in Ghent

If you're the type who can party well into the night for days on end, then Belgium just has just the thing for you. Ghent City hosts the Gentse Feesten, a gigantic street festival which has everything from street dancing to theater to diverse musical performances. The Gentse Feesten happens on the 14th of July until the 23rd.

7) Frolic in the Flander Fields =96 the Westhoek

Have you ever wanted to run unfettered through beautiful flower fields and lush green plains? Well, your fantasy comes true in Belgium's Flander Fields where the Flander fields are not only beautiful but also rich in history. This is the only part of Belgium that wasn't captured during the world war due to the townsmen's ingenious plans of opening the flood gate.

8) Brussel's Oldest Citizen

Who would have thought that Brussel's Oldest Citizen is a little boy atop a fountain? The Mannekin-Pis, located in the Rue de l'Etuve, is probably the most popular tourist spot in the capital city. The Mannekin-Pis is a bronze statuette of Belgian irreverence, a sculpture of a little boy who is `answering the call of nature' (e.g. taking a piss).

9) Where Great Men Once Walked

And you can't have a trip to Belgium without going to the Grand Place, a beautiful piece of architecture that has been around since the middle ages. This is where Marx and Engels once worked to write their Communist Manifesto.

10) Castle Hopping

And, if you're hungry for beautiful and diverse architecture, then Belgium surely is the place for you. Wallonia in Belgium has a huge collection of castles of every kind. They have fortresses and towers and everything you will ever need for your medieval fantasies. These castles have even become popular as honeymoon spots for newlyweds. <bio>Jonathan Williams is the travel writer for Destination Guide TV - the place to share travel videos.
The BMW 645Ci Coupe is manufactured in Dingolfing, Germany, and was first showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2003, while the car first went into production in 2004. The 645Ci coupe is one half of the sensational pair that consists of the BMW 6 Series, the other half of the duo is the convertible design. The 6 Series represents BMW's second foray into the market of luxury sportscar coupe and convertible forum, their first attempt into that specific forum unveils the symbolic prestige of the original 6 Series that ran from 1977-1989. Then previous model beheld the special attention that was given to it, and the result was the onslaught of refined, logical, and powerful styling theories. The new 6 Series upholds these same values and element in their current design with the same carefully crafted curves, sweeping lines, harmonic surfaces, and a spacious interior, setting elevated foundations that even their own future BMW models might find it hard to uphold. The 2+2 seater was first created and designed at BMW Designworks studios in Los Angeles, California.

The 645Ci has an enhanced echelon of agility and driving consistency when it comes to the unfettered movement of the car, because the bodywork that has been done is considered to be lightweight technology. The 6 Series coupe agility and free movement are the effect of the smart combination of synthetic materials essentially located all over the car's body, steel, and aluminum. The spots where lighter materials were placed are the front areas (not made of steel), front fenders (thermoplastic), the trunk lid (composite material), and the doors and the hood (aluminum). With the overall reduction of the weight, the car has achieved perfect weight distribution at 50:50, and helps intensively also on the fuel economy of the vehicle. Another plus from the lightweight construction is that of flawless maneuvering, even on hilly or mountainous environments and hair pin turns. The car does not buck or fly off unnecessarily, it responds as is expected from a BMW.

The coupe's engine is the 4.4 litre DOHC V8, which was the engine of the very well known BMW 745i. The 4.4 litre max power is 325hp at 6,100rpm, with a torque of 330lb-ft at 3,600rpm, and with assistance from the variant, "VALVETRONIC" valve controller. The 645Ci can surely achieve a top speed of 149mph in one simple movement, and an impeccable acceleration of 0-60mph in less than six seconds. The transmission system consists of 3 different six speed options: the six speed manual transmission that has always been reliable; the six speed "Steptronic" automatic, allowing the driver to shift manually if they chose; and a six speed "Sequential Manual Gearbox" (SMG), featuring both the shift paddles and a gearshift lever on the steering wheel.

The BMW 645Ci also comes standard with "BMW Driving Dynamic Control" (DDC), which lets the engine react instinctively when driving by having and maintaining steering capabilities in relation to speed depending on the surroundings. Also DDC permits the SMG or automatic transmission to stay in gear for a greater distance, and also promoting faster SMG shifts. All of these conditions can be altered by just a push of the DDC button to enable it. Other additions to the new 6 Series coupe are the trademark "twin-kidney" grille, "Active Steering", "Active Roll Stabilization", lightweight aluminum suspensions, "Dynamic Stability Control", adaptive headlights, panoramic glass roof, and the "Head-Up Display technology"(displaying information to the driver, directly in his line of vision).

The 645Ci coupe dimensions are a length of 190.2in; a height of 54.1in; a width of 73in; and a wheelbase of 109.4in. Making the 6 Series very noticeable with the characteristics of being long, wide, having a very low roofline, low slung, very spacious inside, and being positioned more to the back on its chassis. These attributes further help enhance the car and gives it a reputation of its own in the sportscar arena that was similar yet different to the original 6 Series, as it had its following then, and so to will this 645Ci coupe. <bio>Mr. Carson is a real car fanatic.
By the hammer of Thor there's a lot of blogging myths out there; myths that keep you from generating more online leads and building lasting relationships with clients.

The problem with these myths is that if they're not challenged they turn into conventional wisdom. If you've been looking to drive more traffic to your Web site and improve communications with customers, you owe it to yourself to give a business blog a try.

Below are some of the hurdles--exaggerated or imagined--I've heard business owners use to avoid starting a blog, and real-world experience to debunk these myths.

1) My customers don't read blogs. I hear this all too often by business owners who don't completely understand what a blog is. Now, perhaps your customers don't subscribe to any blogs, or they don't return daily to a favorite blog. However, if they use Google or Yahoo for search, chances are they stumbled upon a search result from a blog. Since blogs often rank high at the search engines, if your customers use the Internet, you can capture their attention with a blog.

2) Blogging is for teenagers to share the minutiae of their lives and what they think of the remaining American Idol contestants. While teens certainly took to blogging quicker than businesses, these days companies of all sizes and shapes have realized the benefits of a business blog. You wouldn't dismiss the telephone as a communication device just because your teenager spends hours each night on it, would you?

3) Blogging is just a fad/This too will pass. Didn't you say the same thing about the Internet back in 1997? Of course no one can predict the future and much of the hype about blogs is just that. However, it's important to realize that blogs are a powerful, easy-to-use communication tool, and communicating with customers and prospects will never go out of style.

Besides, blogs are an effective marketing tool today, so don't worry if in five years you've moved on to your next communication medium. If you've cultivated an active audience, they'll follow you to other distribution channels.

4) Blogging takes up too much time. I run a growing business, sit on the board of MEBSR (Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility), participate in a business-owners group, do a lot of writing and speaking, and carry my share in raising our two daughters. Trust me, I know from being busy.

However, in the past two-and-a-half years of blogging, I've discovered that it's probably the most effective use of my marketing time. Blogging helps establish your expertise, generates loads of search engine leads, and delivers your message through three distribution channels each time you write. (Read more on the three faces of blogs.)

As business owners we have limited time in the day to market our services; blogging provides great return on that investment.

5) Blogging is fraught with dangers, like people leaving negative comments. These days, consumers can vent their frustration with your product or service anywhere on the Web, whether it's a post at their own blog, a review at Epinions.com, or a scathing YouTube video. If I had my choice, I'd rather have that conversation happen where I have home court advantage. How you handle negative feedback can establish your authenticity, and help you win over new converts.

And, if you happen to find yourself with a PR nightmare, you don't have to worry about letting the media tell your side of the story. By using your own blog you have unfettered access to anyone with a connection to the Internet.

People are looking for transparency and authenticity from companies these days, and your blog is the perfect tool to match these needs.

6) My customers don't read blogs. Whoa. Feelings of deja vu. Didn't we respond to this earlier? Oh, you mean that you don't get leads from the Internet? That they only use the Yellow Pages or go on advice from a friend? Well, then your audience is shrinking. The average consumer is much more likely to use the Web to search for a product or service, or at least visit your Web site to learn more about your company.

If you haven't gone after this audience before, you're missing an opportunity of getting in front of a younger audience...your customers and clients of tomorrow.

And trust me, they read blogs.

The truth about blogging is that it's proven an effective marketing tool for a wide range of businesses. You can start a blog on your own through a service like TypePad or by installing a blogging platform like WordPress on your own server. Alternatively, you can hire a Web design firm to design, develop and promote your blog and get you up to speed quickly.

Whatever path is right for you, don't let these myths keep you from giving business blogging a chance. <bio>Rich Brooks is president of flyte new media, a Web design and Internet marketing company (http://www.flyte.biz/).
If you are a busy person trying to wait for the right time or enough time to write, then you may have a long wait.

Most authors today have to manage time to write around their day jobs, raising children, caring for a husband or other family members. So where does the time come from? When do you sleep? More importantly, when do you have time for just you?

Too often I hear someone say to me they don't have time to read. I want to punch their lights out. It's nonsense. Time is what you make it. No one ever said time management is always easy; it most assuredly is not.

My own writing career began when I was quite young and raising two kids of my own, and four of my husband's children. I was also working a full time job. Sometimes the time I spent writing was the only thing that saved my sanity.

For this to even be possible, I forced myself (yes, forced) to set aside two hours a day just for me, so I could write. Many times I had to work overtime on my other job or even work weekends, so my two hours was not always possible if I was to stay healthy with adequate sleep. Fortunately that didn't happen too often. The children were well warned by both me and their father that to interrupt me during those two hours just might be tantamount to committing suicide. We figured they didn't want to do that and we were quite right.

Staying focused on a story with a houseful of noisy kids is a challenge I wouldn't want to wish on anyone, but it can be done. If you're serious about writing, then do it. For many years I had to work this way. It took a great deal of energy and discipline. This is called leading a full life, I believe. Admittedly youth has flown now, but I'm still writing, running a business with four divisions and coordinating 50 to 80 authors at all times.

If you don't have the energy it takes, then it's recommended you have a close look at your nutritional habits. Proper nutrition is a must. Too much pizza, cokes, hamburgers, fries and chips will do nothing for you except make you fat and lethargic. Too much sugar fat and carbohydrates is detrimental to the brain's ability to function in top form. One multiple vitamin pill a day won't cut it either. I'm talking serious nutrition here.

To write well your mind must be clear and unfettered. That means if you set aside a certain time of the day to write, you must be adamant about enforcing your privacy. MAKE the time. You're the only one who can do that.

Maintaining Continuity

If you are working overtime on the job all week, then set aside two hours during your day(s) off when you are not to be disturbed. If you are unfortunate enough to have extremely limited time to write due to an outside job or demanding family, then how on earth can you keep the momentum going in your fiction writing? It was a problem for me in the beginning, but I soon learned I must conquer the problem or go nuts.

What worked for me, after trying several things, was by taking a tip from Ernest Hemingway. When he quit writing for the day, he typed a word or an unfinished sentence and left it there to find the next day. It helped him to refocus where he needed to go in the writing instead of sitting there staring at a blank page unable to get the trials of the day job or other distractions to clear his mind. He didn't forget where he wanted to go. Making himself finish that sentence, usually enabled him to keep writing for whatever time he had to spare that day. Very good advice and it worked for me.

Now and then I still use this tip, but it's not as necessary now because I've been doing this for so long it's almost second nature. No more kids around to distract me, these days, and when I'm writing I don't even answer the phone. It's death to an author's creativity to allow distractions during that time. Because I own and run this publishing company by myself, I have only Sundays in which to write. God help you if you interrupt me on that day. I'm bad. I'm really bad!

If Hemingway's tip doesn't work for you, sit in front of the computer and warm up by typing something like, The red fox jumped over the hedge and ate a cucumber that gave him gas, or anything impromptu and silly just to put words on paper. In a minute or two you'll be ready to go. You can even try the impromptu writing using the names of some of your characters in silly or not so silly ways to warm up. The point is, staring at a blank screen does not a writer make.

If you're young, raising children and the house catches fire, grab the kid in one arm and your computer hard drive in the other and get out fast. Never lose your computer and all of your hard work to a fire if it can be prevented. I'm saying, in a smart-aleck way, that your writing should be as precious to you as your family. It deserves to be very high indeed on your priority list. If it's not, then perhaps you are not really a writer, or you can't wrap your mind around the importance of that concept.

Spousal Help or Hindrance?

It would be remiss of me if I didn't mention this item. Does your spouse support your desire and time you set aside to write? Or is he/she completely incapable of relating to this facet of your very soul? A spouse can either make or break an author with regard to allowing time away from them to pursue the author's dreams of writing and getting published. This is fodder for an entire article all its own, so I will only touch on it here.

Authors who have non-supportive spouses where writing is concerned may as well have an anchor clamped to their neck, choking the life out of them with every step they take. If you're a writer, it's part of you and it must be free to create without ridicule from that person trying to kick your self-esteem down in the basement all the time. I had one like that once. He's history.

Authors who have supportive spouses, like me, are allowed the freedom to do what we must, just as I give my spouse the freedom he needs to do what he loves best. We are both very busy people, but the time we spend together is quality of the top drawer kind.

Choosing the Right Style

Will designating time for your writing change your lifestyle? Maybe. If so, you may be very resistant to making the necessary adjustments to do what your writer's mind urges you to do. Saying, "I don't have the time I need to write," is nonsense, just as it is for people to say they have no time to read. Folks we have the same number of hours in every day we've always had. So if you don't find the time to write, it's your lifestyle and/or your mindset interfering; it isn't that no time is available to you unless you make it so. Don't be a pussycat. Stand your ground and MAKE time. If I could raise six children, work a full-time day job and still make time to write for two hours a day, don't tell me you can't.

So get tough and make it happen. Guys and gals, time waits for no one and it won't wait for you either. C'mon now. How serious are you about making time to write?<bio>Lee Emory is an author of ten novels, numerous short stories and articles, who is also a professional editor for 40 years.
I was on holiday recently. The sea provided the required amount of aqua-antics and the sun doused the beautiful landscape; creating the perfect postcard setting. There was a moment, however, when this picture was almost lost in a very bizarre and incongruous argument. When asked if I could take a photograph for a couple, of them, who were also appreciating the view, of course I obliged.

It was once the picture was taken that our holiday retreat was suddenly taken over by copyright. Not the kind of guest you would expect on a romantic holiday in the South of France, yet it was defiantly with us nonetheless. I happened to mention -- as would any journalist with a mischievous sense of humour-- that up until fairly recently I would have actually owned the right to that picture, even though they owned the camera. Fortunately for the masses (well, tourists more notably) this has changed, with the commissioner of the image now owning full copyright. Although my comment was lost in translation, their prized picture wasn't - legally anyway.

This is just one example of how copyright interferes and protects us in everyday life, but for businesses it is absolutely critical that this protection is installed and managed in the most vigilant way. Yet, copyright is a license we are all aware of, but in all honesty, we can't really seem to understand or define it.

Copyright acts as the legal protection for the author of creative or original works; essentially this imparts the author exclusive rights to reproduce, sell and broadcast their work. Ironically, I was unable to expound this relevant information to my fellow tourists, but this law is often misinterpreted and even ignored. The good news, however, for individuals and organisations is copyright will cover their skills, labour or judgement provided as long as the work is original and fixed in a material form. These laws and definitions may vary from country to country, but businesses in the UK and US now have prudent focus on protecting their 'digital brand' - or digital asset management as it's widely recognised.

While digital asset management is a well-worn concept, it has entered the 21st century with far more vigour and intent. Every organisation is involved with a website, print advertisements, promotional videos and brochures, as well as a raft of other marketing materials. Introduce the word 'brand' before the notion and all of a sudden something as rudimentary as a photograph or company logo becomes a commodity that is not only under threat, but can be archived for prospective projects in a digital medium.

In a high-profile case this year, a US federal judge ruled that portions of Google's popular image search feature, which displayed small thumbnail versions of images found on other websites, violated US copyright laws. Google is facing a growing number of lawsuits that could imperil its lucrative business model, which relies in part on the ability to make fair use of copyright works and sell advertisements linked to trademarked keywords.

Google did contest, however, by stating: "creating thumbnails is 'fair use' under copyright law because it promotes the progress of digital innovation and enhances public knowledge and information online." This is the perfect example of when copyright divides option, ethics and law. It will certainly not be the last time.

Technology has revolutionised the sharing of information, including digital files. At the click of a mouse, images and logos are instantaneously transmittable to anyone from a colleague across the room; to a vast network of online communities around the globe. It is estimated that 70% of employees believe they need to share the images and information they receive as part of their employment -- 84% share internally and 37% externally. This unfettered ability to duplicate and transfer digital assets has increased instances of image copyright law violations. Often, employees do not understand what actions are permissible under copyright law and this ignorance has created serious liabilities for their employers.

Implementing a Digital Asset Management system ensures that employees use only approved imagery, for which copyright permissions have been obtained. In addition, the software reduces the time spent locating creating assets -- photos, diagrams, illustrations, logos -- and the many hours devoted by individuals and organisations searching for existing material. The rapid growth of media assets demands an immediate need for a powerful, fast retrieval system, coupled with disaster recovery and robust security.

With the abundance of digital opportunities for image and sound creation, the necessity for increased storage capacity, and the attentive organisation of these files, has produced an industry that is surviving the ubiquitous credit crunch. Digital asset management grows with technology and always has to be a few steps ahead of the game to ensure businesses keep control of their digital assets.

Asset Bank -- a pioneering force in digital asset management in the UK -- allows your business to create a fully searchable, categorised library of digital images, videos and other documents.<bio>Matt Crick is writing for Asset Bank, enabling you to create a fully searchable, categorised library of digital images; providing their clients with secure digital asset management. It is a high-performance application for managing digital assets - all you need to access it is a web browser.
