This puts the weight loss program right back on track to achieve a weight of 180 pounds ( kilos) that was the original . I did set 17 weeks as the target period but will beat that deadline by around 4 weeks or more at the rate I'm losing weight.

The focus during the past week has been to increase my level of exercise -- not by having longer or more sessions but by being more conscious of doing those little extra things that we all pretend that we don't have time to do. Like choosing stairs rather than an escalator when the option is available, becoming really serious about questioning whether I need to use the car to do a chore and just getting off my butt and taking a walk after dinner.

One instance that I recall this week was when I promised my wife to bring a back when I walked down to buy my morning paper. The sports page was so interesting I totally forgot to buy the milk and arrived back home without milk. - Now I wear the pants in my house with her permission so I immediately turned around and made for the car to return to the village. Then I thought of my promise to increase exercise, so I slipped the car keys into my pocket and walked back to the village. Needless to state I felt proud of myself for pocketing the car keys and remembering my exercise pledge. Maybe that extra trip to the village was worth half a pound in weight loss?

It doesn't matter whether the exercise helped me lose weight or not, it certainly helped make this old body a little fitter and that is equally as important as losing weight. What's the point in losing weight if your body remains too unfit to enjoy the benefits of weighing less?

As your body becomes fitter during the process of following this system you should never stop reminding yourself that this extra fitness will be the major factor in keeping the weight off. Because you are fit you will want to be more active and activity burns calories.

Four weeks ago I weighed 197 pounds (97.5 kilos) and my aim was to lose weight at the rate of one pound (450 grams) per week until I was down to 180 pounds; without giving up any food that I like. That is a reasonable weight for a man who is a little over 6 feet (1.83m) tall. At my Friday evening weigh-in my weight was 190 pounds (94 kilos) and that puts me three weeks ahead of schedule in only my fourth week.

Health wise I have regained much and my muscles are firming. I now wish that I had recorded waist, hip and thigh measurements before I started and was able to give news on what I measure. I'm not a scientific person and only work by my waist belt -- the news on that is good. At the end of week two I was able to suck everything in and take my belt up by a notch, today that extra notch is very comfortable and maybe just a little slack. My feelings are very positive about deciding to go on this program and it is no trouble to keep up with, as my weight loss to date indicates. In fact I doubt whether the program will run for weeks because weight is disappearing at the rate of one and three quarter pounds each week rather than the one-pound I targeted at the start.

During the week I received an from a follower of the program asking me to clarify the method of taking your own pulse when exercising. You will recall that we exercise three times weekly for ten-minutes or until our by 50%. Here are the rules for taking your own pulse.

As you get fitter you will find that it takes more than ten-minutes to raise your pulse rate by 50%; you just keep exercising until you achieve the required increase. In the early days you may find that you only need to exercise for 5-minutes to achieve the required pulse rate. That's fine, don't push it, and just stop exercising when you have achieved the 50% increase.

I'm going to make my bacon sandwich now. Like I said I give up nothing that I like for more than one day.

Multiple-dial locks One of the simplest types of combination lock, often used in low- is the bicycle lock, which uses several rotating discs with notches cut into them. This lock is considered to be one of the least secure types of combination lock.

Opening a multiple-dial lock without the combination depends on the slight irregularities in the machining of the parts. Unless the lock is machined precisely, when the pin is pulled outward, one of the teeth will pull more strongly than the others on its corresponding disc. This disc is then rotated until a slight click is heard, indicating that the tooth has settled into the notch.
