While most search engines do not use Meta Tags as a means of determining placement in their overall rankings of similar websites the proper use of Title Tags should take some careful thought. For those interested in your product or service the title tag is often the first impression a consumer has about your website.

A title tag is generally only 80 characters or less in length. Usually the title tag is approached by website owners as an after thought. By optimizing your title tag you have the opportunity to appeal directly to the consumer. Consider your title tag a mini advertisement directed to millions of web users.

In the html language of each web page is a section that reads Title Tag information here

You will find this html section within the tags that read and Html language may be foreign to you, but you can use the services of a good webmaster and insist they work with you to optimize the pages on your site to assist you in rankings, consistency and for maximum customer and ranking impact.

What should Title Tags include?

Title tags should always include at least two keywords or phrases, but don't go overboard. If your title is stuffed with keywords it can actually have a negative impact on your ranking due to the fact that many sites may consider this a spamming technique.

It is possible to make your title tag longer than 80 characters, however if you do make sure the most important information comes first. Search engines will place a limit on how much title information they display with their search results so it is possible some of your title information could be omitted.

It may seem a daunting task, but by placing a title tag on every page in your website you have a very simple, but often overlooked way of impacting the very people you want to visit your website - consumers.

Interestingly it is the title tag that many search engines look to first when considering site rankings and it often the most overlooked part of many SEO online marketing strategies.

By overlooking title tags in SEO you are essentially doing the same things as businesses who have a phone number in the phone book and believe that's enough to draw customers. Title tags provide a means of free advertising in search engines. When you couple that with the importance search engines places on title tags it just makes sense to optimize your title tags. <bio>Scott Lindsay is a web developer and entrepreneur.
When it comes to your Meta tags you want them to contain key information about your website as well as your top keywords. Make sure they keywords are in the title as well as in the body of the text. Make sure you write a description about your page using specific information and keywords, but keep it short and sweet. All your keywords should always be relevant to the content within the page they describe. With the title tag, each search engine looks at it and uses it primarily the same way, to summarize and compile the websites contents for its search engine users. The how and where your keywords are in your title tag are the most important element with to which you can get benefit from using title tag. Choosing keywords is an essential part of producing a successful website.

When creating the title for the website makes sure you include keywords in the title that are on the page. There has been a lot of talk about title tags about how they are not important anymore, but in reality they are still important. On your page to properly place your title tag you should put it between the HEAD tags, one of the best place to include it is right after the HEAD tag. Most of the SE use the meta title as the title of the page. When you do a search on search engines the title that is listed is the title on the website and sometime the Meta title is used. Once you understand why the title is so important, you can easily write more effective title tags. The title is so important because the first thing that a human searcher sees is the title. The Meta title is a critical factor in controlling where your site is listed in search engines.

In many results the Meta description will appear on the results page right under the title. The only caveat to remember is that your META description will only show if the search term is in the META description. Try to keep the title brief so it is not cut off in the results, it is best practice if you keep the description under 200 characters.. Your description contains your important key phrase and key words. Place your description in the opening paragraph, if you do this the description is weighted heavier by search engines. Sometimes even google picks up description tag. Make sure that title and description is crafted neatly and attracts both visitors and search engines.

Bots have been spidering the web since the '90's, including pages into various collections. Pictures are worth 1000 words to you and me, but zero to a search engine. Even if you ensure you have completely relevant Meta Tags, some search engines will still ignore them. Always make sure that your meta tags do not have any line breaks. The more educated you are about what search engines are looking for, the better you will be able to respond and rise in the rankings.

If you only put the description in the Meta tag section, then the search engine robots will see it but many of your visitors will not. Don't hide this information in a place where your readers cannot see it. Meta tags are HTML elements used to provide structured metadata about a web page. Using Meta tags is not some magic answer that everyone thinks it is. Meta Tags are most commonly used to distinguish the keywords that are relevant to a page's content. The robots do scan the Meta tags and some of the search engines will use the information from them. Meta tags are still important today, they might not be as important but you still need to use them if you want to compete with other sites. <bio>David Marc Fishman helps webmasters with a link directory and web directory to establish one way links at http://www.vwutt.com and http://www.zsozi.com. </bio>

In earlier days, when the Internet was still pretty new meta tags were everything. They were vital in helping search engines determine what the site was all about and how to rank the site in their search results. When the databases were smaller and more manageable, this meta tag provided a quick and easy way to figure out which keywords were important on a site. At that time, meta tags were king. Many SEO services could get web sites placed high because of the presence of meta tags.

As the Internet grew larger beyond all expectations, there was fierce competition in trying to get into the search engine's top ranking. SEO services who could not get their sites ranked through fair means resorted to unfair means. In an effort to bring traffic to their site they abused the system by incorporating useless and completely irrelevant keywords into their meta tags.

With the result that today, Google and most other major search engines pay little or no attention to meta tags. What is given more importance is the content within the pages of the site. A few engines still take notice the words within the meta tags, but they are used more as minor supplements to the actual content and title tag of the web page.

So, should you or shouldn't you use meta keyword tags anymore? It certainly couldn't hurt to use it. Search engines use many different factors to determine site rankings, so it makes good sense to use meta tags along with any other acceptable and legitimate technique that is available. At best, it increases your chances of getting a higher ranking and there's no downside to it unless you rampantly stuff your page with irrelevant keywords.

If you still intend using meta tags, first write your content based on relevant keywords and then create a title tag and meta description tag using the same keywords. <bio>Want top rankings? Here's what each of these terms really mean.

Unique Page Titles - The Title Tag

Title tags are not only displayed in your browser but are also used by the search engines as the title of your listing in the SERPs. Don't rush into using just any old title. Think about the most appropriate title for the particular page and use it. Google, Yahoo and MSN all look favourably on unique title tags.

Things you should keep in mind when composing your title tags:
-Every page of your site should have its own unique title
-Don't use a single title tag for the entire site
-Keep the title between 10-12 words in length
-Think of the title tag as a short ad copy that as user sees on the SERPs.

META descriptions

META tags are currently not as relevant as they once were. This is because META tags became plagued by webmasters trying to spam the search engines. That being said, you can still use META tags as part of your on-page SEO. Here are a few you should use:

The description tag is a very important META tag. Again, it's displayed in the SERPs and should be composed with careful consideration. A description tag assigns an individual identity to each page and well written, can positively influence users into visiting your website. Use only the most relevant keywords in your description tag and try to keep the word count to around 25-30 words max.

The NOODP Tag is a relatively new tag and guides the search engines to not display the title and description tags used for your website listing at DMOZ.

Heading Tags

A great headline is a perfect hit with both, the reader and the search engines. Using Header tags will tell the search engine which "words" are important in the context of your page and as such are given more weight by search engines than regular body copy.

Highlight Tags

When adding your keywords to a web page, it is helpful from an SEO perspective to highlight some of them with bold, italics, or emphasis tags to convey to the search engines that these keywords are important. Such tags are also given more weight than regular body copy.

ALT and Title Attributes

Use these two on-page SEO factors to describe both images and text links on your site. These help not just with search but also enhance the accessibility of your website for visually impaired users. Search engines use the alt tag in the same way they use the body text to rank your web page.

Content Optimization

This is a tough balancing act. Not only do you have to focus on your user and their ease of reading, but you also need to make sure that the content is search engine friendly. While users can get the gist of the content by its title, the search engines require a more comprehensive display of keywords and related terms throughout the page.

Strike the right chord by staying focused on the requirements of your users/prospective customers. Next weave the relevant keywords into the text to attract the search engines. A 2-8% keyword density is recommended.

Finally, keep the website content fresh and interesting so that the search engines always have something new to find and they will spider your site more frequently.<bio>John Hill - A UK SEO professional and search marketing specialist with E-Gain New Media Ltd offering website design, SEO, UK PPC management and search marketing.</bio>

It helps you to get your web site to appear in search engine result pages (SERPs) for keywords that that are relevant to your business.

Google, MSN, and Yahoo all use their own formulas to calculate the relevance of your pages, but here are a few common factors to guarantee you will rank above those not using them. Of course, one of the most important factors you want to check out is the company's track record of results. There are a couple of factors that have effect on your search engine positioning, here is one important one, the on-page optimization factors.

If you want a healthy return on investment (ROI) with search engine optimization (SEO), your success -- or failure -- hinges on the keywords you select when combined with other factors like link popularity and web site design. This would include such tasks like modifications to your keywords, description, title tags, comment tags, alt descriptions, and title descriptions of anchors and the actual text of your web page. The TITLE tag first is the most important part, the "< TITLE >" tag. Words people are most likely to search on put first in the title (called "keyword prominence"). Optimizing Your Title Tag. This is because most engines and directories place a high level of importance on keywords that are found in your title tag. Your page title is one long uninterrupted road sign instead of several small ones.

If it was possible to master seo techniques, and be sure that we can get high rankings by editing just the Meta tags that would be very easy, but this is only one part of search engine optimization, but that's just not going to happen. These factors all relate to your own site and include your domain name, page names, meta tags, keyword density, titles, headings and last but not least the content. Optimizing your meta tags and dropping a few keywords into your web site won't pay the rent. Things like the page title, Meta tags, heading tags, comment tags, and anchor text were the only things that mattered. Back couple of years ago you could just tweak, title, headers and description on each page and by doing this you could create fantastic seo results.

By including local information in your tags and web pages, you help prospective customers find specific information on the area and business they are searching for. Localized search engine optimization is the addition of local search terms to your tags and web pages. Keywords / Description / Alt Tags / Title Tags / Page Content.

Make sure that all your tags properly closed and that there are no tags missing, when search engines spider your site and your pages are not complete the search engines might ignore the page. The science is formatting the pages with the right meta tags and submitting them in the right way to the search engines.

Search Engines are also interested in the text of the site. Anchor text is the text the web visitor sees on the web page, which is hyperlinked to your domain name or URL. When submitting to other sites use your keyword phrase for your anchor text when ever possible. You can just take it that plain text is the food for search engine spiders.earch engines. <bio>http://www.linknetics.com is software that helps http://www.linknetics.com/reciprocal-link-exchange.html </bio>

HTML title tags (< title >) are currently the most important on-page factor when optimising your webpages for search engine results. For the majority of search engines the title tag is the first point of call to summarise the theme of a webpage and to help rank that webpage accordingly within their listings. Obviously there are many other factors that generate the overall ranking but optimising your title tags right will generally provide results for your targeted search terms.

Target Individual Webpages Towards Search Terms

For search engine optimisation, it is vitally important that your website has individual webpages with content targeted towards keywords and search terms. Each of these webpages should have their own unique title tag that includes the search terms you are hoping to be found for within search engines.

How People Search

Think about how you would type in a search into a search engine. It is unlikely you would type in a phrase such as "How You Should Optimise Title Tags". There is more of a chance that you may type "How Should I Optimise Title Tags", but people tend to shorten the total words needed to type a phrase as much as possible and will be more likely to type "How to Optimise Title Tags". Search engines would pick up the all above variations but by targeting the most popularly typed phrase you are increasing your chances of ranking better for that search term. There are many keyword tools on the Internet that allow you to research which keywords are popular and how searches are being typed.

Variations of Prime Keywords

If your website is targeted towards a certain group of keywords and search terms, then use the webpage title tags to target variations of your main keywords. For example, the main titles on our website are targeted towards "Search Engine Optimisation" and "SEO". Notice how within our SEO blog articles we sometimes use variations such as "Search Engine Optimising for Long Tail Search Results" and the title of this post "How to Optimise Title Tags". By doing this you can catch more visitors for a variety of possible related search terms.

Put Search Terms First

The closer the keywords are to the beginning of the title tag the more relevant and more weight that webpage will carry towards that keyword. So for example if your webpage had a title of "red widgets and blue widget" and another website's webpage had a title of "blue widget and red widgets", if you did a search for "blue widget" then the other website more likely to rank above your website (if all other factors are equal) simply because the search term is nearer the beginning of the title tag. A lot of companies put their brand terms first and then the page title, which is good if you are a recognised brand as it builds confidence and provides familiarity to potential visitors and may help encourage click from search listings, but it can be a slight disadvantage if you are looking to rank higher than a competitor who puts brand terms at the end of the title tag or left them out completely.

Another good reason to put the search term nearer to the beginning of your title tag is that search engines use the title to provide the link to your webpage in their listings. There is limited space (68 characters in Google) for your title within the search engine listing so it is important to make it obvious what the webpage is about.<bio>Steven Balfour writes search engine optimisation articles for various blogs and websites.</bio>

Metal tags are normally used for product identification. Metal tags can be used in many different military and industrial situations. Metal tags are an excellent choice for identification because they are durable and easy to secure to the object that they are identifying. Unlike stickers which can peel off due to heat or rubbing against another item, metal tags can be secured to an object so that there is no way for them to get lost. This reliability will ensure that no problems are created as a result of being unable to identify a specific object.

Metal tags can be created from a variety of different materials. The most common materials that metal tags are made from include stainless steel, brass and aluminum. Metal tags also come in a variety of different shapes and sizes. Popular shapes include dog tags (often described as pill shaped), flat rectangular metal tags and round metal tags.

Although dog tags are often worn as civilians as decorative jewelry, their real use is for members of the military. Military dog tags are used as a form of identification for soldiers. Military dog tags are made from a dull finish stainless steel. Military dog tags have rounded edges to avoid cuts or other accidents. In addition to dull finish stainless steel, dog tags can also be made with bright stainless steel or a brass finish.

Even though flat rectangular metal tags are only available in one shape (as the name implies), they are available in a wide variety of sizes and materials. Flat rectangular metal tags can be created from anodized aluminum, stainless steel, aluminum or brass.

The last main type of metal tags are round metal tags. Round metal tags can be created from stainless steel, brass, aluminum or anodized aluminum. Although round metal tags are normally purchased with holes, they can actually be purchased without holes. <bio>For the best deals on metal tags, be sure to visit http://www.compucardinc.com/metal-tags.html today! </bio>

You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who isn't looking for a quick fix to place their website atop the search engine rankings. In fact, many people are spending big bucks just for a shot at securing prime placements on sites such as Google, Yahoo!, MSN and AOL.

But while most of that financial focus is concentrated on creating keyword-rich content and building incoming links, one forgotten element of a search engine-friendly website often receives little attention: title tags.

So what are title tags? They are the descriptive text that displays at the top of your browser on every website you visit.

Not only are title tags important for telling visitors what's on each page of your website, they're essential to high search engine placement. A simple adjustment to your title tags will often result in a rise in your rankings.

Why?

All major search engines, including Google, examine title tags because they offer information about your web page. In a way, your title tags - because of their position at the top of each page - serve as an introduction to your website. If the description on your title tags doesn't match the content on your web page, you run the risk of receiving a low ranking ... or, worse yet, no ranking at all.

However, when you incorporate keyword phrases that match your web page content and correspond with the terms your prospects search, you'll take a significant step closer to your desired position in the search engines.

To test this concept, I encourage you do a Google search. Type in any term or key phrase you want. Then, once the search is complete, open whatever website is in the #1 position (not one of the Sponsored Links). Once it's displayed, take a look at the browser bar at the top of the page. Do you see your keywords?

When creating the content for my new website at www.writewaysolutions.com, I focused on the key phrase "Phoenix copywriting." As a result, that is one of the terms I used on my home page title tag. Today, if you search Google for "Phoenix copywriting," you'll see my website in the #1 position. And on Yahoo! it's #2.

Frequently, many companies only display their names on the home page title tags. The problem is that, unless you're a well-known brand, your prospects aren't likely to search by your company name. Instead, they will use terms that describe the product or service they need.

To choose the most effective key terms or phrases for your title tags, begin by selecting words relating to what's described on your page. The trick is determining the phrases your prospects are searching, while avoiding broad terms with a lot of competition. You can use a free service such as Digital Point's Keyword Suggestion Tool at http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/ to help select your keywords

One additional tip is to include your geographic area as part of your title tag phrases. By adding your city and/or state, you'll narrow down the number of websites competing for your desired search engine placement.

By now, I'm sure you're wondering what's in your website's title tags. So go ahead, take a look and start incorporating these suggestions. In no time at all, you could soon see your website soaring to the top of the search engine rankings. <bio>Tom Trush is a commercial copywriter based in Phoenix, Arizona.
If you travel or you intend to do some travelling, then you know the importance of printed luggage tags. Without printed luggage tags, you can go to the airport and possibly not find your bags. It is better to be safe than sorry when you travel, especially by air. Then again, printed luggage tags are very beneficial no matter how you're travelling, whether that's by bus, train, or even in your car.

Methods of travel and printed luggage tags

Printed luggage tags are needed regardless of your method of travel. If you're travelling by air that's a given. You can keep your bags from getting mixed up with others. Yes, the airport puts a tag on your bag, but what if that tag comes loose? What if it comes loose and is sent to the wrong location? By having printed luggage tags that have your name and contact information, you can ensure that your bags get back to you if they have been lost or misplaced. Printed luggage tags also keep other people from taking off with their stuff and then leaving you with theirs.

Even when travelling by train or bus, you need to have printed luggage tags. That's because bags can sometimes be placed in a storage area on the train or bus. You can sometimes take a bag with you that is smaller, but the rest have to go into a separate car of the train or under the bus. In the case of the bus, there are less people travelling than on a plane or a train, but there is still that possibility that something could get messed up. Just like on the train there may be some confusion.

Getting printed luggage tags

Getting printed luggage tags are not at all difficult. But there is something that is unique about them. Do you own a business? You can use printed luggage tags to market your business. All you have to do is have your business name and/or logo placed on the backside of the luggage tags. Being that luggage tags can cost more money than what people normally want to pay, they'll welcome a promotional set of printed luggage tags from your business. What's even better is that they will definitely use them.

So you can actually start a promotion in which you give away printed luggage tags. You can buy them in bulk so that you don't have to pay a hefty price for each set. You get a discount when you buy a bulk of them. So take advantage of that. Take advantage of the fact that people don't want to lose their luggage when travelling. Any time they place their luggage tags on their luggage, they're going to think of your business in two ways: As the business that gave them the luggage tags and as the business whose logo is on the back of the printed luggage tags. The next thing you know, they're making another purchase from you. This makes your investment well worth it.<bio>Matt Franks is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of printed luggage tags and other Promotional Products at www.fluidbranding.com.
Because keywords help determine the ranking of your website, and therefore how visible your pages are to Internet traffic, it is important to use keywords properly in the creation of your site.

In today's world of Internet lingo, you may frequently hear the terms "keywords," "search engine rankings," and "keyword search results" bandied about. However, not everyone knows what keywords are, and how important they are to the success of a website.

Keywords are essentially words or phrases that summarize the topic of a site. When a Web surfer types a word or phrase into the blank field of a search engine such as MSN or Google, the search engine returns a list of related sites. Each site on this list is determined by the presence of the search terms, or keywords, in the site's meta tags, image tags, and content.

Keywords and Meta Tags

Meta tags are like a site's "dog tags." They identify the site's title, description, and keywords. Meta tags are invisible to Web surfers, but they are instrumental in a search engine's recognition of the site's content.

Title Tags

A title tag gives the title of the Web page. A title should only be around six words long, and the primary keyword -- the word or phrase that the site is primarily identified with -- should be in this title tag. The closer to the beginning of the title the primary keyword is, the stronger the association with that keyword will be.

Description Tags

A Web page's description tag provides the search engines with a summary of the content contained on the page. Once again, the primary keywords for this page should be contained in the description, as close to the beginning as possible. Description tags only allow 200 characters of text.

Keyword Tags

The keyword tag lists all of the keywords that can be associated with the Web page. The primary keyword used in the title and description tags should be first, followed by other keywords in order of importance and relevance. Although keywords can be separated by commas, they don't have to be; however, keywords should not be repeated more than three times, lest the Web page be rejected by the search engines as spam. Between 800 and 1,000 characters are allowed for keyword text.

Keywords and Image Tags

Image tags are the text that shows up in place of an image, if the image fails to load for any reason. However, image tags serve a more important function: they allow the search engines to "read" your images. Without image tags, search engines have no way of interpreting your images. Therefore, image tags can also help boost the visibility and relevancy of your site to search engines.

Keywords and Web Page Content

The tags that you use on a Web page are important identifiers for search engines. However, in order to maintain a respectable search engine ranking, your Web page must establish relevancy. In other words, the keywords in your tags must pertain to the actual content on the page. Therefore, the same keywords you list in your tags must be used within the text your page displays.

The most important part of the content is the opening paragraph. The primary keyword -- the keyword that was used in the title and description, and listed first in the keyword text -- should be used several times in the first paragraph, and then occasionally throughout the rest of the page. Other, less important keywords can be used occasionally throughout the content, as well. This will indicate to the search engines that your page really is relevant to the keywords listed in your tags.

Another way to judge keywords is via a concept called "keyword density." Keyword density shows the frequency at which a keyword is used. The density is calculated by taking the total number of words and dividing it into the number of times keywords appear in the text. The resulting number is multiplied by 100 to create a percentage. Keyword density can be a tricky business, however. Too low a density will fail to be noticed by the search engines, whereas too high a density can cause a Web page to be rejected as spam. Typically, a keyword density of around 5% is sufficient.

The Importance of Keywords

Keywords are a vital part of the creation of Web pages because they directly affect how visible the page will be to search engine traffic. The presence of keywords needs to be a consideration in every aspect of designing a Web page: designing the tags as well as writing the content. Because of the impact keywords can have on the success of your site, it's important to know how to use them properly. <bio>Andy West is a freelance writer and communications specialist.
Almost everyone has heard of dog tags at one time or another. Whether you have seen a teenager wearing dogs tags with their initials on it or actual dog tags which are worn by members of the armed forces, dogs tags are worn by many different kinds of people. Although they have become a part of mainstream fashion, true dog tags are much more than a simple piece of decorative jewelry. Military dog tags are worn by soldiers and other members of the armed forces as a means of identification. In the unfortunate event that a soldier is killed during combat, their military dog tags can be used to identify their body and inform the family of this extremely sad event. Although people living in regular conditions can be identified by a driver's license or similar form of identification in the case of a tragedy, these normal means of identification are not enough for soldiers because of the extraordinary circumstances they are living in. If a soldier kept an identification card in their wallet or pocket, it could easily be stolen or lost during combat. However, because military dog tags are worn under a soldier's uniform, the chances of a soldier losing or having them stolen are much less likely.

The military dogs tags which are issued by the government are made of stainless steel and have a dull finish. Military dog tags are made of stainless steel for obvious reasons (durability, resistance to scratching and weather exposure), and the dull finish is used to draw as little attention to the tags as possible. As you probably know, soldier's wear their military dog tags on a metal chain. Most of these chains are nickel plated and normally measure thirty to thirty-six inches in size. The necklaces are extremely secure and ensure that a soldier's tags stay with him at all times. <bio>Although dog tags are normally used in military situations, they are also very useful under other circumstances.
Anyone serious about succeeding online must take search engines seriously. Search engines drive a significant amount of traffic to your site. You have to do everything in your power to optimize your site to please the search engines. The bigger value the search engines place on your site, the more traffic they'll generate for you.

The key to proper SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is to achieve optimal results for relevant search phrases. If you have a Chiropractic practice in San Diego, your goal is to get optimal ranking for your related keywords such as "san diego chiropractic." It wouldn't help you business to also rank well for "new york city chiropractic" because your customers are in San Diego. The key is not only to rank well in the search engines, but also to rank well for the appropriate keyword phrases.

There are a variety of techniques listed below to help you get more visitors to your website. Make sure you include as many as you can into your search engine optimization strategy.

Write a Page Title

Title tags are critical for search engines. The title tag copy is one of the most important SEO factors in how the search engines view a web page. The title tag is displayed in the search engine result pages as the heading describing the web page. It's crucial to maintain balance between optimizing for the search engines and being descriptive for humans. A title page that stands out is more likely to trigger a click from a searcher. Avoid "filler" words from the title, such as "the," "and," etc, and keep your title fairly short. A good rule of thumb is to keep your title under 64 characters.

It is of paramount importance to include your target keyword phrases in your title. Note: Make sure the words from your page title are also found within the content of your web page. Search engines are looking for the connection between the page title and the page content.

Practical Example: An accountant in San Diego, may consider the following page title "San Diego Accounting and Bookkeeping Services" <bio>Author: George Meszaros with Webene http://www.webene.com </bio>

Learn how to avoid the same mistake I made.

One of the most crucial mistakes I made when I first started Internet Marketing was not completely understand the importance of proper back linking, anchor tags, keywords and the title tag. The most important things to search engines is providing relevancy to search results using keywords in the anchor tags and back links. Back links to your website has become one of the most or if not important aspects to better Search Engine Result Positioning (SERP) using your keywords in your anchor tags.

One of the most common mistakes that I personally made with my website was in the title was:

Title: Succeed Online with ES-Solution

The problem with that title was; What does that have to do with my website and keywords? Search Engines base a lot of importance on the keywords and the anchor tag contained in the back link. Additionally, I submitted my website to many directories and search engines using that title. What I am telling the search engines? That my most important keyword or keyword phrase is "Succeed Online with ES-Solution." How many possible searches do you believe would have that exact phrase or keywords? Zero.

My rankings for my keyword phrase "Internet Marketing eBooks" were even more horrible!

Steps to avoiding this same mistake:

Step 1: Never using a descriptive title

Step 2: Choose the most relevant Keywords for your Title

Step 3: Create back links using the appropriate anchor tag.

My actions:

1. I changed my title to "Internet Marketing eBooks". Another important idea behind your title and keywords is that the search engines will shift around your keywords to make more phrases. I only have 3 Keywords but using different combination, I have 3 good keyword phrases:

(1) Internet Marketing eBooks

(2) Marketing eBooks

(3) Internet Marketing

2. And I began re-submitting my website to directories and search engines with the proper title (anchor tag): "Internet Marketing eBooks"

My results:

(1) I have several back links with the anchor text "Internet Marketing eBooks", but unfortunately I still have some of the old back links with the anchor text "Succeed on with ES-Solution" dropping my overall relevancy to 54% when it should be 100%.

(2) I have managed to achieve the number high ranking as for the keyword phrase "Internet Marketing eBooks" in the major search engines. <bio>Erich Sweaney has specialized in Internet Marketing and Search Engine Optimization for over 4 years, and maintains several at http://directory.ezweb-tools.com - SEO Friendly Directories and http://www.es-solution.com -Internet Marketing Online Resource Center. </bio>

With 489,876,431 entries existing per key phrase and only 1,000 entries being listed per search, it is easy for your website to get lost in the void.

But, there is a way to avoid getting trapped in the black hole. There is a way for your website to be listed in the 1,000 entries. Without this technique, there is no way for search engine users to find your website unless you give them your URL directly. And, that's not very efficient.

The answer to evading the black hole is keyword themes.

Keyword themes, which use specific search engine optimization formulas in early on web development, tie one original keyword phrase as a theme for all images, tags, titles and links, headings, and sub webs. Using keyword themes can effectively ensure a high placement in the search engines. Your website will most definitely be listed in the first 1,000 entries, and in just a matter of 30 =96 45 days, your website will be listed in the top 25. Additionally, using keyword themes is a good way to cut advertising and marketing expenses.

Keeping in mind the goals for web development is a surefire way to maximizing the efficiency of keyword themes. The goals for web development are pretty evident: inform, entertain, and covert visitors; attract spiders from as many engines as possible; and rank high in search results for a particular keyword.

There are some basic keyword theme principles to follow when developing a website. The first thing you must do is create a sentence of less than 12 words that conveys the website's most important messages. This is used for the title. Although 12 words might seem long for a title, this length allows for many possibilities and combinations of the keywords without making an overuse violation, known as spamming, in the search engines.

The keyword phrase is first seen in the title. Then, a description follows. Using the same keyword phrase in the same order as the title, write the description. This can be as long as you want. Next, you will need to create tags. Keywords in tags need to be in the same order as the title and description. Tags, too, can be as long as you want. These techniques ensure that there is a unified and cohesive appearance for both spider and visitor.

Now that you have your title loaded with keywords, you can use these keywords or phrases throughout your website. This is your keyword theme. The rule to using these keywords and phrases when using the keyword theme technique is to always use the keywords or groups of keywords in the same order as you did in the title.

Using keyword themes in Meta tags works the same way as it does on the webpage. Keywords and phrases are always placed in the same order as the title and the theme is always listed first.

Links and headings should be created in the same manner. By using the keyword theme in the title, description, tags, Meta tags, links, and headings, you have created a logically optimized website. And, since the keyword theme is in place, the keywords only need to be used a few times in the text. This allows for very rich content.

Limit your use of keyword phrases to five instances for all images, titles, including link titles, alt tags, and headings (limit of 2 for each phrase). There is no limit on use of keywords for links.

The keyword theme technique is an excellent way of ranking high in the search engines. By following all of the guidelines, you can be ensured that your website will not fall into the Internet black hole. <bio>Web Profits specialises in search engine optimisation, online marketing and web design, helping businesses generate profits from the Internet.
Search engine optimization, otherwise known as SEO, can be used in blogging and in other online marketing techniques to drive traffic to any web page of your choice, whether it is a blog, Squidoo lens or a traditional website page.

There are specific ways to ensure that each of these three different types of web presence is optimized to the extent that they will be picked up and listed by the top search engines. The biggest by far is Google with 65%, followed by Yahoo and then MSN, so it makes sense to optimize your web page for the Google algorithms.

Algorithms

An algorithm is a sequence of procedures for carrying out a statistical mathematical computation that ends up, in the case of Google and other search engines, with a list of web pages indexed in order of relevance to specific keywords, or search terms, used by search engine users to find out information.

All search engine listings for specific keywords are based upon these algorithms, that take many different aspects of the web page into account, and although only a few Google employees on a 'need to know' basis understand the factors involved, and the weightings that are given to each, we can work out some of the more important of them, although there are believed to be over 200 aspects of a web page that contribute to its listing position.

Important SEO Factors

1. Title Tag

The title tag is generally regarded as the one most important factor in determining your listing position. A simple change in the use of keywords in your title tag can dramatically change your listing position. You MUST use your main keyword for the page in your title tag, but the other text used within it can make a lot of difference.

The Title tag appears with in the HEAD tags of the page HTML, and therefore doesn't actually appear on the page. It is visible to spiders only, and is a means of you telling the search engine spiders what your page is about. You must then use the keywords contained in the title tag in the body of your text, and in any headings and subheadings. Basically the title tag sets the theme that you must continue in the text that your readers actually see.

2. H1 Heading Tags

The H1 heading tag conveys a lot of weighting to the text within the tag. The heading of your page should be within H1 tags, but do not make your heading exactly the same as the page title. Make it close, but not as extensive.

For example, if your web page is dedicated to the use of articles as a marketing technique, your page Title tag (visible only to spiders) could be 'Article Marketing and Article Writing Techniques' while your main page heading (visible to spiders and readers) could be 'Article Writing Techniques', contained with H1 HTML tags, and in Bold and underlined. You could then have another heading using the keyword 'Article Marketing'.

3. Use of Keywords

You have set the keyword theme with your Title and H1 heading tags. You must now continue that theme with the text on your page. Good SEO books such as SEOcious and websites such as SEO 2020 explain in detail how best to use keywords and how to structure your entire website to attract the attention of search engine spiders and of human visitors, and an article such as this cannot do the topic justice.

It is enough to say that the three major ways for you to inform search engine spiders of the theme of your web page is by means of your Title tag, H1 heading tags and your use of keywords on your page. All three of these should focus on one or two keyword, and if done properly will go a long way towards securing you a top 10 listing for your keyword on Google.<bio>For more detailed information on the use of keywords on your website visit SEOcious where you will find many other important factors involved in getting your web page in the top 10 listings on Google.
When people first look into optimizing their website in order to gain better placement in the search engines one of the first things that comes to mind is the web site's meta tags. The meta tags contain information such as the keyword or keyword phrases that best describe the information or theme of a website as well as a short description about the site. But of the years the importance of meta tags has been downplayed or ignored because of the lack weight given to them by search engines for rankings. But there are reasons why you will still want to pay attention to them.

Back in the early days of search engines meta tags were often the most important and sometimes the only tool you needed to ranking highly for keyword phrases. This made it very easy for sites to rank highly for terms that had nothing to do with the actual content of the site thus making the search engine results pages full of sites that were not relevant to the user.

In a effort to show more relevant search results search engines had to add additional factors and criteria into the way they ranked a website. Since then search engines have been paying much more attention to the content of a site as well as a number of other factors. And even though these days some search engine such as Google pay little if any attention to meta tags in an effort to improve the quality of search results, there are still reasons why they should be an important part of search engine optimization.

1. Some Search Engines Still Give Weight To Meta Tags - Search Engines such as Yahoo and MSN still use meta tags as part of the determining factors for ranking a site. Although the amount of importance may be small, when it comes to search engine optimization (SEO) every little bit helps. Think of it as dotting your I's and crossing your T's.

2. It Can Help Increase Traffic To Your Site - Often search engines will use your title tags as the linked text for your site with either the whole or part of the description underneath it on the results page. A well written title tag and description can entice someone to click on your link. How many times have you searched for something and clicked on a result based on the linked text of description.

3. Help Optimize Individual Pages - Each page of your website should have different keywords and descriptions that reflect the content on those pages. This can help when trying to optimize different sections of your site for different keyword phrases. Search engines may then display that exact page in the results directing visitor to that specific section rather than just the home page.

These techniques for using meta tags will not guarantee search engine placement but when combined with a complete search engine optimization campaign can help. And when it comes to optimizing your site for the search engines every little bit counts.<bio>Stefan Hyross specializes in internet marketing services Toronto to bring your site more traffic.
If you want to get a LOT more Internet traffic than you are now, without having to do a lot of complicated key word and SEO tricks, then this article will show you how.

Listen to this:

The key to getting a lot of traffic to your website...is audio.

Why?

Because search engines are now starting to pick up what is called ID3 tags.

What are ID3 tags?

Well, you know how when you put a CD in your CD Rom, or if you have a car CD player, and you put it in there and you see the little title of what you're putting in there flash across?

That's an ID3 tag. There's code embedded in the actual mp3 file, and also when people download digital files onto an iPod.

This allows people to sort their music by title, artist and other criteria.

The ID3 Name tag allows you to enter a more descriptive name for your audio file. For example, an audio file that has a name like "myaudio.mp3" can be renamed "How I Made My First Million in Advertising." That's certainly more descriptive than the file name!

You are also able to enter the Artist's Name and Composer. Both of these will probably contain your name as well as the name of your web site, email address, and/or telephone number. Mix up the content between these two fields. In my audios, the Artist's Name field has my name and web site address and the Composer field has my name and my telephone number.

Although its length is limited to a few sentences, get creative and come up with a succinct summary of the audio that includes key words that will get your audio listed higher in Search Engines when someone is looking for content that may be just what your audio contains.

And, when you have an mp3 file up on your website, the search engines start picking it up that information like they do HTML text.

So, imagine if you have twenty or thirty audio recordings on your site, and you've got millions of people searching for whatever it is you sell.

By using audio, in addition to your regular web page content you have now, you have an extra "layer" of content being picked up by the search engines at the same time.

And by having those ID3 tags, and the keywords within, it's going to be easier to dominate your market because the websites can't search the actual audio portion.

All they can go by is what's on the ID3 tags on your files. This is the strategy I do with my own websites with phenomenal results. And it will work for you, too.

The whole key to this is to simply get that audio content up there on your site with the ID3 tags and then let the search engines do the rest.

Copyright 2006 Michael Senoff <bio>For more information go to http://www.hardtofindseminars.com/Audio_Marketing_Secrets.htm </bio>

Search engine optimization, also known simply as SEO, is the practice of improving a web site's ranking in Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engines. The goal of SEO is to optimize a web site (on and off the page) so that it ranks well for a specific set of keywords. Although this may seem like a simple enough task, it is actually a very complicated and challenging one. Not only do you have to compete against other web sites, but you also have to deal with the search engines. Every major search engine has a different algorithm, and what may improve your ranking in one search engine could potentially lower your ranking in another one. Although there are many factors and practices within the search engine optimization community, here are some of the more common on page search engine optimization techniques:

Meta Tags-Although they used to carry much more weight, meta tags should still be optimized as a part of basic on page search engine optimization. Every web page on your web site should contain a unique meta description, along with several meta keywords which describe the content of the web page. SEOs should avoid "stuffing" meta tags. Stuffing meta tags is the practice of using tons of meta tags on one page. Although this used to be considered a "Black Hat" technique, it is now nothing more than a foolish attempt at improving your search engine ranking.

Header Tags-H1 and H2 tags should be optimized in the same fashion as the meta tags. If possible, the header tags should be slightly different than the meta tags. However, they should still contain the same important keywords that you want your web page to rank well for.

Out of all the on page SEO factors, the most important is original content. When writing content, try to write in a normal conversational tone instead of writing systematically for the search engines. <bio>Will the author's blog rank for http://tylerbanfield.com/blog or andbielf? </bio>

We've spent some quality time with the first two crucial elements to a successful business startup.

Here's a recap:

Step 1: DECIDE WHAT YOUR BUSINESS IS GOING TO BE

Step 2: CREATE A WEBSITE

With the next step we are actually only degrees of separation from Step 2: CREATE A WEBSITE. However, we will be designating a new step entitled "MARKET YOUR WEBSITE". This new designation has the subtle distinction of moving your site from form and function to frequently visited through the use of common search engines.

STEP 3 then is: MARKET YOUR WEBSITE

If you've got a mental checklist going you've probably checked off site design, site content, and ease of use in navigation. The next item on your list is the actual launch of your website and the implementation of a comprehensive marketing campaign.

First, be sure you have determined what your most important keywords or key phrases should be. This information should include some research into what the end user is likely to select when conducting an online search. For repeat reference, keywords are the word or phrases that relate to a particular topic. Keywords or phrases are used to construct a search statement to locate information. In my previous article, I suggested that you need to add as many of these important keywords and key phrases throughout your website's text as you can.

Before you officially launch your marketing campaign, you need to ensure that your "META TAGS" are properly constructed. A META TAG is a specific kind of HTML tag that contains information not typically displayed to the user. Meta tags are designed to contain information about the page itself, hence the name ("meta" means "about this subject"). Meta tags are a prime source search engines use to best categorize a page. The better the meta tag -- the better your information will place in a search engine.

Meta Tags go between the "head" tags in your site's html.

I suggest using these three major meta tags:

title: This describes your site. Be sure to use your important keywords and key phrases. Search engines will see the site title first.

META description: Depending on the search engine, this information will generally be displayed along with the title of your page in an index. "Content" could be a word, sentence or even paragraph used to describe your page. Keep this reasonably concise and to the point. However, don't be so lean with your description that it does not adequately reflect the sites actual content!

META keywords: Choose keywords or key phrases you deem appropriate then separate them by commas. Remember to include synonyms, Americanisms and so on. For instance, if you had a page dedicated to cars, you might want to include keywords such as car, cars, vehicles, automobiles and other similar keywords.

Each of these meta tags should be added to the html of your site between the "head" tags.

If your business provided customers with golfing equipment, you may add your meta tags as shown below:

Title: Golf equipment -- Golf world golf equipment.

Notice I used Golf and golf equipment. These are the main keywords and key phrases I have chosen to target so I make sure they are included.

Once you've completed the above step you would use the following tag:

Use the description tag:

"Golf World, the premier site for golf equipment. Golf clubs and more!"

Once again, I used several of my most important keywords and key phrases.

The final step allows you to add your keywords meta tag:

"golf equipment, golf clubs, golf balls, golfing supply, callaway"

You may even want to add specific brand names if applicable.

Once you have these tags complete, be sure to place them between the "head" tags in your html.

If you are using a site builder such as our HighPowerSites builder tags are not required. Simply add your title, description and keywords from your site builder control panel. You will not have to deal with placing them in the site using the language of html. This user-friendly function is an asset for those who have limited to no experience with html.

Please look for Part 6 of Building Your Way to Online Success. <bio>Scott Lindsay is a web developer and entrepreneur.
Keywords alone won't create high search engine rankings for your eCommerce web site. Combining keywords, repeated several times on your page, with copy that communicates well and provides good reading for the viewer will boost your rankings for your chosen keyword(s). Your tags and the body of your page become critical elements for eCommerce success.

Your Title Tag should be the keyword or phrase you are targeting. Search engines `find' title tags and display them. Your title tag needs to be at the beginning of your copy, and repeated numerous times throughout your page. Remember that people read search engine results and humans aren't search engines. If what we are reading doesn't capture our interest and attention, we click the mouse and go on to something else. Repeated keywords or phrases and compelling copy are a winning combination.

Creating Meta Tags is very much like Title Tags, except they will be longer and more descriptive. This tag is a page description and it's also available for viewers to read in search engine results. The keyword or phrase needs to be repeated and a compelling description about your product or service needs to catch the eye of the reader. You don't want him/her to lose interest and move on to someone else's web site.

Once your site visitors find you (because you have such great keywords and phrases!) the composition of your page becomes paramount. You need to think about including pictures, slideshows and videos. They must be compelling enough for your visitors to want to hang around and not only see what you have to offer, but consider making a purchase. Your Alt tag for your graphics needs to include your primary keyword or phrase again.

Staying with the assumption that you want the visitor to make a purchase, you create compelling copy that describes your product or service and suggests how it may be helpful and important to your viewer. Be sure to use your keywords and phrases again in the first line of your copy and throughout your page. Search engines look for words and phrases that are repeated on a page.

We cannot over-emphasize the importance of compelling copy. Text that is boring simply means your visitor will move on to another site. Your graphics (pictures, slideshow, video) will capture your visitor's interest, but your copy will make the difference between a purchase and a lost opportunity. Your visitor needs to be able to click on just one link to purchase your product or service. And that link must be available to the viewer on the page that is being viewed.

The key is to make a purchase as simple as possible for your cyberspace customers. Using the tags we've talked about, keywords and phrases will get them to your page via their favorite search engine. Your eye-catching graphics will pique their interest. And your compelling copy and simplicity of purchase will increase your average visitor value.
