I have stopped talking about current events but yesterday's horrendous bomb blasts in mumbai made me write this. My heart bleeds for the families who lost their loved ones and those thousands of people who were injured in this inhuman act of terrorism... I can feel the pain... The moistness in those eyes... I get goosebumps when my son does not return on time from school. How about those families who had to wrap their loved ones in white cloth and bid them farewell from this world ! Which parent would welcome those cruel hands of God which bought their dead children home ! What if i told you that this tragic event and many others are the brainchild of your own mind? Would you accept it? You dare not reject it because i am going to prove that we all are a terrorist in the making....

Human beings by their very nature want either good or bad things to happen to them. Yes we all prefer good things to happen to us. But when we are not able to get all those things which we truly want we silently plot those crooked ideas, those mean acts, and sow the seeds for cowardly actions. At the backyard of your mind a devil works all day,all night planting those bombs of destruction which we are not conscious of. We carry those bombs of anger, pain, envy, greed, and destruction with us all day. We might not hatch ideas to blow trains and airplanes but everyday we water our stupid ideas, our mean and narrow thinking and cause many a damage and discord in every day life. We don't destroy life's but neither do we build one. Everyday every minute we want to put someone down. A billion people with a crooked mind whose desires are not fulfilled create the atmosphere for these terrorist acts. We have silently given permission to a terrorist mind. The only difference is you dont own that mind which bombed the trains and airplanes but you are as much a facilitator for the creation of that mind.

Human beings are nerds. They will never grow up. You have to understand that the invisible forces have more power, more command than the visible ones. Your hands and eyes are mere toys at the mercy of the highest force within you . I was once a terrorist i have to admit since i had all these crooked qualities. I am not surprised when bad events happen in the world because perhaps that is what everyone wants... and if you think you want only good events can I request permission from you to inspect the backyard of your mind please........

Show me a fertile mind where good events can be launched my dear friend. There exists very few... You can change the world by starting the process of building a fertile mind ... A billion fertile minds with honest intentions will force God to come and visit this earth. In truth God did not create the world. He became the world . As the "Upanishads" the great religious scripture says " He became knowledge and ignorance. He became truth and falsehood....

Wake up my dear friends and don't waste your time talking about these inhuman acts. Go and have another look at those seeds you have sown in your own backyard. You will find more cactus than roses....

I was once a terrorist..... No more now... Never again in the near future. I plant roses in my backyard so that twenty years later my dream of a beautiful garden is fulfilled....

The heavens beyond are great and wonderful but greater and more wonderful are the heavens within you. It is these Edens that await the divine worker.... <bio>Lecturer, entrepreneur and Fortune 500 business consultant, Vish Writer is the author of the Amazon No 1 bestseller, "The Joy of Becoming God" For more information, visit: http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com http://www.vish-writer.com </bio>

A group that calls itself humanist terrorists was apprehended by the FBI in a preemptive strike in Miami. The terrorist cell, which claims affiliation with the Middle Atlantic terror group all-Libraries, was infiltrated by an FBI operative.

The leader of the group confided to the informant that the members planned to plant explosive books in various locations throughout the United States, including the Sears Tower, a number of FBI buildings, and radical Muslim mosques.

The humanist terrorist group had been operating out of the basement of an as yet undisclosed free public library in Miami. The FBI found plentiful evidence of the group's plans, including many intelligent books generally considered to be easily accessible and therefore highly dangerous.

At a news conference held to announce the arrests, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales stated, "Fortunately, the plot by this home-grown terrorist cell was disrupted in the planning stages. The group was still trying to get funding to acquire a sufficient number of books."

In a deposition, a spokesman for the humanist terrorists confessed, "We were planning to spread enlightenment wherever we could, so we selected two of the most informative and readable philosophy books of recent times, both by the leading but now deceased humanist terrorist Bertrand Russell. First, we were going to stage an attack with his landmark The History of Western Philosophy, just to provide people with an overview of our radical ideology. Then we hoped to follow that up with a strike using The Selected Writings Of Bertrand Russell. Our goal was, I confess, to disrupt the new Dark Age that appears to be descending on a worldwide basis."

The prosecuting attorney outlined the government's case, saying, "The confession of this self-styled humanist terrorist clearly indicates there was a clear intention to disrupt the deadly ignorance that pervades much of today's society. Obviously, the group poses a threat to the widespread determination of much of the world's population to return to a time so wonderfully ill-informed that it can truly be described as The Dark Ages come back."

The families of the terrorists were startled by the arrests and continued to maintain that the suspects are innocent.

As one mother said, "My son is not a terrorist. He's a good boy who somehow came to believe in radical ideas like truth and wisdom. If he's freed on bail, I promise to limit his reading time." <bio>Tom Attea, humorist and creator of http://NewsLaugh.com, has had six shows produced Off-Broadway and has written comedy for TV.
In the wake of the sudden death of its now fragmented leader, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Al-Qaeda in Iraq polled its somewhat shaken members about who would like to take over Mr. Zarqawi's job. After a determined effort, the group was able to find a terrorist who, though expressing understandable reluctance, was eventually persuaded to accept the expectedly short-lived position.

The usual amateurish Webcast was quickly arranged, and the new leader, flanked by other terrorists wearing the standard-issue black head disguises, introduced himself, with visible knee shaking, as Abu Hamza al-Muhajer.

In the co-opted, overbearingly religious language that has become the worldwide standard in terrorist-speak, the new leader of Al-Qaeda in Iraq vowed to avenge al-Zarqawi's death and vowed that he and the other "holy warriors" will continue with what they perceive as a holy war against their own slack populace and the people Al-Qaeda refers to with moronic medieval acumen as "the crusaders."

"Don't let the joy of killing our Sheikh Abu Musab, may God bless his soul, fool you," he stated, "for he left behind lions."

To prove his point, at that moment, he held up an uncooked shish-kabob and took a bite out of it. Chewing on the raw lamb meat, he continued: "He raised them by himself and they trained in his den. They believe in their ideology, and they fight only for God and in God and through God."

Apparently, the group had to reach far down into its ranks to locate another willing volunteer. Unfortunately, no one on the side of the infidels had ever heard of him, even the most erudite terrorist analyst.

A few days later, his identity was determined. After the announcement, his photo-ID poster was taken to a US firing range for target practice.

No comment was forthcoming until and a couple days later, when a terrorist of even less repute made a tape, claiming he is the rightful fellow who's picture should be on the firing range.

Whoever the new leader is, if apprehended alive, he will be sent for retraining in religious ideology to an enlightened mosque, if one can be located, wherein he will learn the disconcerting logic that if, as he and his ill-informed cohorts maintain, there is only one true God, even crusaders are the children of the same God, so such a God is unlikely to welcome them into the paradise they long for as a reward for their murderous activities but will far more likely present them with a more heated welcome and destination. <bio>Tom Attea, humorist and creator of http://NewsLaugh.com, has had six shows produced Off-Broadway and has written comedy for TV.
Many Americans have many more complaints with the American government and politics, and how ill-prepared the government was for helping American citizens before, during, and after Hurricane Katrina struck is only one example. However, it is apparent that the American government and the politics that surround it are not just sitting around waiting for the next disaster to strike -- they have been making preparations, and not just for natural disasters such as hurricanes.

Natural disasters are not the only emergencies in which organizations have been founded to help citizens when insurance policies are nonexistent, or not enough; organizations such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency, better known as FEMA, have stepped in and helped during troubled times. However, past terrorist attacks, and present risks of terrorist attacks, have prompted the federal government to get involved and pass the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, also known as TRIA.

TRIA may not be an organization like FEMA, but the act is designed arrange a provisional program that makes sure both citizens and insurance companies are prepared -- as prepared as can be -- in the event of a terrorism attack. TRIA does this by guaranteeing that the federal government will share the costs of losses due to terrorism attacks with insurance companies. This helps ensure that insurance companies will not, for lack of better terms, run out of money. It also helps ensure that American citizens provided with the help they needs, as well as be compensated for their losses.

Insurance companies were not adequately prepared for the financial losses that resulted from the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and had to rely heavily on reinsurers, companies that make available insurance to insurance companies, to help pay the cost of damages. Now that TRIA is in effect, insurance companies are at less risk for being inadequately funded. Plus, the time it takes to underwrite an insurance policy is reduced since the losses have been reduced. <bio>http://www.ezquoteguide.com/home/ http://www.ezquoteguide.com/car/ http://www.myquoteguide.com/Term-Policy.shtml </bio>

A gunman dressed all in black stepped on stage in a lecture hall at Northern Illinois University on Thursday and opened fire on a geology class. A short time later, five students were dead and the gunman had killed himself on the lecture hall stage. Twenty one others were wounded, at least two of them critically. Early Friday, the DeKalb County coroner said another student shot at the lecture hall had died, bringing the toll to seven, including the gunman.

It was the fifth school shooting in a week in the U.S.

You read that. Correct. This was the fifth school shooting in a week in the U.S. After the shooting spree the gunman turned the gun on himself and committed suicide. The unidentified 27-year-old man grew up in the Chicago suburbs and was enrolled as a graduate student at another state school far removed from the site of Thursday's bloodbath at Northern Illinois University. If this gunman intended to kill himself, then why did he have to take innocent people with him? Why did defenseless students sitting in a college lecture hall have to become part of this person's plan to kill himself?. You may think this sounds insensitive of me, but how would you like to be the parent of one of these students? Put yourself in the place of parents who have just sent their child off to college and then find out that their child was just shot down and killed by some deranged person who just walked on the stage of a lecture hall stage and opened fire.

I think the most alarming part is that this was the fifth school shooting in the United States this week. If an individual has to worry about being killed sitting in a college class in this country, well we are no better off than the Israelis who have to be on guard sitting in their local pizzeria worrying if an Arab terrorist will decide to blow himself up and them as well. The one advantage that the Israelis have is that they have a pretty good idea of what the terrorist might look like. On college campuses students don't have that advantage. The killer could be someone's roommate. The killer probably looks no different than the boy next door. It almost seems like guerilla warfare where the enemy hides in the trees and is camouflaged so well that you don't know where he is until someone is dead.

Motive is the one thing that no one seems to have a clue about right now. Do we really care about motive? I don't, and I don't think any of the parents who are receiving notification today that their child was killed in a school shooting do either. What are they going to tell us, that he had dating problems? That he wasn't on his medication? Lack of medication seems to be what everybody is blaming this on right now. But to the parents of the victims, knowing the motive of the killer will not alleviate any of their pain.

School shootings were something that was unheard of until the massacre at Columbine High School, which should have been the wake up call to the country. Harris and Kleboltz were not the only demented people in this world, there are plenty of them. September 11, 2001 proved that. The nation is constantly on guard at airports, subways, highways, and sporting events. We are constantly looking over our shoulder and are wondering when another terrorist will blow up another landmark that the country seems to hold so near and dear. Individuals hold things personally near and dear also. Like their children. I don't want my daughter looking over her shoulder on a college campus wondering if the next stranger she sees is going to be so deranged that he decides to open fire and shoot innocent students including her. Do you? The time has come for the country to treat these school shootings as terroristic acts. Instead of the government pouring money into public schools in order to raise test scores let's start using the money to better protect our kids. Instead of colleges using government funds to build bigger campuses let's start focusing on the real problem - the well being and safety of our students, our children. I know that this sounds like pie in the sky, but do you know what? It wasn't your kid that was killed today. I don't want my daughters or anybody else's children to get killed tomorrow.

We have to take a new view of these school shootings. We have to understand what those students felt today when they saw their classmates gunned down They felt terrorized, and that's exactly how these shooting should be looked at - as acts of terrorism. <bio>Jim Burns is one of America's most inspirational educational speakers.
A lot of money is being invested today in traveling. Cruise lines, resort package deals, and air travel can easily run into thousands of dollars. You may have invested some of that money on your trip and can risk losing it all. Some people either don't think of getting travel insurance or they just don't want to. Some may think they are in perfect health and they are physically active, what could go wrong? If something does, they will deal with it then.

Why should you buy travel insurance?

Why not? It's relatively inexpensive. The cost is typically about five to ten percent of the total outlay for the trip. There are literally hundreds of things that can go wrong on a vacation, from a cancelled flight to a serious illness. In some rare cases an act of terrorism or the financial default of a travel supplier can cost money you had originally planned to spend in more enjoyable ways. An illness, accident or other unforeseen circumstance can force a traveler to cancel or interrupt their plans. In that instance they face two major losses: nonrefundable deposits and medical expenses not covered by insurance.

Suppose you find yourself in some mishap that leaves you far from home with no money and unable to keep the reservation you already made with no refunds available. This is when it makes sense to purchase travel insurance. Most trip travel insurance will cover trip cancellation, trip interruption or delays, medical, dental, emergency medical transportation, lost luggage, accidental death, financial default of airlines, and cruise lines.

Here are some common questions often asked by travelers

What happens if a traveler must cancel their vacation?

Often times a traveler could lose nonrefundable deposits and prepayments that add up to hundreds if not thousands of dollars. A good travel insurance plan should provide trip cancellation coverage for the traveler's vacation investment and the insurance company should reimburse the traveler for all pre-paid, nonrefundable expenses.

How does trip cancellation and interruption coverage work?

It reimburses for forfeited, nonrefundable, unused payments or deposits if the traveler must cancel or interrupt their trip due to a covered reason.

Does travel insurance cover acts of terrorism?

Some travel insurance policies do not cover terrorism. They may only cover terrorist acts that occur in foreign countries. Others can cover terrorist incidents both in the United States and abroad.

What is the cost of travel insurance?

The cost of travel insurance is based on the value of the trip. It normally will run between 5 and 10 percent, based on the age of the traveler. Typically, the average cost runs around five to seven percent of the trip cost.

What if the airline, cruise line or tour operations goes default?

Almost all trip travel insurance policies include financial default coverage if the program is purchased within 15 days of making the initial trip deposit.

Always check for duplicate coverage

There are a few types of insurance related to travel that you may not need because you are covered from other sources. Your health insurance, life insurance or even your car insurance polices may have limited coverage. Thus, you could be buying duplicate coverage. It is important to always compare with your existing insurance policies to insure there are no duplications.

Be sure to check the "fine print" for hidden limitations on these existing policies. After researching your current polices, it may seem you are already covered on the surface, but the fine print could limit certain conditions, circumstances, situations or locations. The fine print is written in "legalese" that is hard to understand. <bio>David Swanson is a frequent traveler who is believes in secure traveling for more information you can visit Trip Travel Insurance at http://www.triptravelinsurance.net as well as Types of Travel Insurance at </bio>

After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, it became clear that much more needed to be done to protect America's freedoms and interests -- both at home and abroad. The US Government, in response, created the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) over five years ago and the Department is now the lead organization responsible for protecting the United States homeland.

The National Strategy for Homeland Security (2007), which guides, organizes, and unifies homeland security efforts, outlines four national goals:

• Prevent and disrupt terrorist attacks
• Protect American people, critical infrastructure and key resources
• Respond to and recover from incidents that do occur
• Continue to strengthen principles, systems, structures and institutions to ensure long-term success

Furthermore, the President states that "Homeland security is a concerted national effort to prevent terrorist attacks within the United States, reduce America's vulnerability to terrorism, and minimize the damage and recover from attacks that do occur." Accordingly, homeland security "cannot simply rely on defensive approaches and well-planned response and recovery measures." (White House, March 2008).

Proactive Counterterrorism Efforts Needed in Homeland Security

Many of the homeland security efforts right after 9/11 were centered on plans, procedures, and processes for emergency management personnel. While a necessary and worthwhile endeavor, not as much attention has been focused on prevention as opposed to "response and recovery measures".

One of the keys to prevention in the context of homeland security is knowledge of the threats and risks posed by terrorism. This means that in addition to "all-hazards" emergency response exercises and training, homeland security and counterterrorism professionals need to develop a deep understanding and subject matter expertise in how terrorists groups operate; their tactics, techniques, and procedures.

Proactive counterterrorism efforts include forestalling terrorist actions through enhanced detection and interdiction of terrorist cells. This level of intervention, at the prevention stage versus the recovery stage, requires comprehensive training for counterrorism operators and analysts about how to get into the minds, cultures, and habits of terrorists and their organizations. More attention should be paid how to both develop and execute strategies to disrupt terrorist activity before they are able to carry out their plans and inflict damage.

Homeland Security Counterterrorism Analysts Need Intelligence Training

Another component of homeland security is intelligence and the need for counterterrorism professionals to understand how to gather and analyze intelligence from a variety of sources about potential threats to the homeland. Homeland security intelligence analysts must develop expertise about how to conduct risk analysis, threat assessments, and how to apply analytic tradecraft in the homeland security domain (intelligence collection against non-state actors and terrorist groups as opposed to the traditional emphasis on the collection of state-based foreign intelligence).

Counterterrorism intelligence analysts involved in the homeland security mission are responsible for providing insights about the capabilities, motivations, and intentions of terrorist groups that may seek to harm US interests at home and abroad. Because terrorists are agile and difficult to monitor using traditional intelligence collection instruments, homeland security analysts must possess advanced critical thinking, problem solving, and other analytic skills -- including foreign language training -- to properly and adequately exploit and leverage open source intelligence (OSINT).<bio>Henley-Putnam University is a leading educational institution in the field of Strategic Security.
Premiering in November 2001, 24 set the television landscape on fire as one of the best new series and cemented its position as a pop culture phenomenon. Making use of an extremely original plot device, each season follows the exploits of a single day in life of hero Jack Bauer, each of the season's 24 episodes chronicling an hour-long action segment from the day. Kiefer Sutherland plays the part of Jack Bauer, a daring government agent with awesome responsibilities. Each year's episodes are similar to an action-packed Hollywood blockbuser, but they're only a glimpse into a normal day in the life of Jack Bauer...

Season 2 supposedly takes place eighteen months after Jack's big day in Los Angeles. Jack is now dealing with the death of his wife and is estranged from his daughter Kim. As a result, he contemplates retirement. But when President Palmer personally requests his help, Jack agrees to take on a new assignment. In so doing, Jack learns that a Middle-Eastern terrorist group called Second Wave is going to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles in the next 24 hours. Yet again the clock is ticking, and yet again, only Jack Bauer stands in the way of an evil conspiracy reaching its final fruition...

The 24 (Season 2) DVD features a number of breathtaking episodes including the season premiere which begins with President Palmer and his son fishing in an Oregon lake when he's called away for an emergency. Ushered into an underground bunker, he learns of a terrorist plot to set off a nuclear weapon in the Los Angeles area in the next 24 hours. At the CIA's Counter Terrorism Unit, George Mason is ordered to contact Jack Bauer in respect to the case, but it takes the personal appeal of President Palmer to move Jack into action. Meanwhile Kim, working as a housekeeper/nanny, overhears a domestic dispute between her boss and his wife, and she locks herself and the man's daughter in a bedroom. As the episode concludes, Jack learns that the key to uncovering the whereabouts of the nuclear device may lie with a domestic terrorist organization he once infiltrated... Other notable episodes from Season 2 include (#31) in which Jack and Nina set up a sting to see if a contact can lead them to the site of the bomb, and (#46) in which Jack stands on the verge of making a break in the case but has his efforts thwarted by the president's ex-wife, who's involved in the terrorist conspiracy...

Below is a list of episodes included on the 24 (Season 2) DVD:

Episode 25 (12:00 A.M. -- 1:00 A.M.)
7 years after the atrocity of 9/11, Americans may know more details about what happened that tragic early autumn day, but we still have trouble fathoming how religious extremists could commit such a calculated, monstrous attack on thousands of innocent, unsuspecting people.

Terrorism isn't anything new and excessive religiosity isn't a modern ailment -- even in America. More than a hundred fifty years ago, on another September 11th, an act of religious terrorism left more than a hundred American men, women and children dead. And the perpetrators? Fellow Americans.

A closer look at this relatively obscure attack may shed some light on how religious terrorists are created and serve as a warning, that terrorists don't always speak another language, have a different color skin, or live across the ocean.

The Mountain Meadow Massacre occurred on September 11th, 1857. It was carried out by a group of Mormons who attacked a wagon train of pioneers traveling from Arkansas through Utah on their way to California. Who ordered the massacre and why has been shrouded in secrecy for over a hundred years, but it is believed the atrocity was committed in the name of God.

Whether or not Mormon leader Brigham Young ordered the massacre is a moot point. What is important was the atmosphere and politics in Utah at the time, the history of persecution suffered by the Mormon Church, and the hysteria whipped up in sermons by the church hierarchy, led by Young. Why his sermons were so inflammatory has been the subject of much speculation. The fact is, sermons such as the one called "Blood Atonement," remains a troubling part of history. And the absolute, unquestioning obedience of the men of Southern Utah who believed they were acting righteously is shocking at the very least.

I wrote September Dawn to share the story of how religion can become distorted and followers can commit heinous acts with the belief that they're following God. The book and subsequent movie aren't really about a particular group. The story is an American tragedy about blind obedience and loyalty to doctrine created by flawed human beings.

What can we learn from the terrible incident? Several things. First, we need to acknowledge that terrorism isn't a foreign commodity -- it can happen anywhere. Religious terrorists are created through consistent indoctrination, a forceful, charismatic leader and an insistence on absolute obedience to the religious hierarchy. Terrorism is cultivated in an unforgiving atmosphere that teaches zero tolerance for "others." Terrorism is spawned during times of social, political or economic turbulence. Unwilling to accept responsibility for one's own problems, it is easier to find a scapegoat.

We must learn not to accept doctrine without examining our own hearts. Many of the young Mormons forced to participate in the massacre wept and vomited as they killed innocent men, women, and children. The more enlightened threw down their guns, and at least one young man was shot by his own father for trying to save a little girl by hiding her. Monsters did not commit the massacre. Farmers, family men, blacksmiths, grocers, normal, everyday Americans were responsible for this horrific crime.

Religious terrorism is often the result of unquestioning loyalty. Self-righteous followers believe they will be rewarded for their acts. Everyone has a right -- and a duty -- to examine their leaders and their doctrine. Terrorist seeds are planted in an atmosphere that forbids questioning. They take root in the minds of followers and eventually deaden their hearts to humanity.<bio>Carole Whang Schutter has studied most of the world's major religions.
With the new global economy and proliferation of computers, the sale of software across continents has become commonplace. The website designer may be located in the UK with the software supplier located in the United States.

It is a good thing if you are shipping your CD's to the United States. Within 2-3 days, utilizing standard parcel post, your shipment will be in your customer's hands and installed on their computer system. Now, I want to tap into the 900 million person European Union and UK Market. How do I get my software CD to my customers?

Shipping your computer software from a United States or any North American location to Britain, Germany, or any of the other European Union countries can open up a litany of issues for you.

With the new terrorist guidelines that are in place in the United States and Europe, this transfer could contain vital terrorist information, at least in the government's eyes. So, even though you are not a terrorist, you may come into conflict with the governments involved.

This explanation period will only lengthen the time it takes for your software to arrive. Your international delivery could be as short as one week and as long as two months. If your customers are like most, then in their eyes the responsibility for the delivery of the software resides with your company not the parcel post.

So, how do you get around this little problem? If your software is important enough, you can hire a personal carrier for approx. $10,000 US.

This will still take you three or four days to realize, but the customs organizations will not hold up the works. But if you are a small company and the total cost of the software is not that much, how can you safely distribute the software within the UK and Europe?

One solution is to use a company that distributes software on a daily basis to the UK and Europe. They write the code to the disk and then use internal parcel post to delivery the packages.

Once you apply for their service, upload your software and send them the destination. You can expect for your customer to have the software CD in their hands the same day with some of these services.

Your customer will be amazed at the speed with which your software is able to arrive. The cost is also quite affordable, allowing you the global presence in the market for distributing your software products. It will also allow you to have the peace of mind that the proper trade procedures are being utilized.

Always keep in mind that with software distribution, the location that you distribute to can be more important than the location that you are selling from.

Clearing customs or not having to clear customs can be integral to your customer success. The last thing you need to have complicating your software sale is a customer that is angry for not having their new software in the proper amount of time.

So, utilizing a global software distributing company will give you the global presence that your software deserves. <bio>Chris McElroy manages the http://softwaredeveloper.mindwarp-fulfillment.co.uk for http://www.mindwarp-fulfillment.co.uk </bio>

Most people book a vacation thinking that it will be a relaxing getaway. This isn't always the case - you can end up paying incredibly overpriced medical bills or lose a significant amount of money if you lose your wallet.

1. Travel Insurance

Insurance makes sure that if you do encounter an unexpected circumstance you will be reimbursed. If you don't have travel insurance, your trip might even be cancelled. Insurance can even be useful if you don't end up travelling due to illness. Instead of losing a lot of money you will get a full refund for your tickets.

2. Travelling Abroad

9 times out of 10, any and all insurance that you currently have is not going to be applicable when you travel internationally. You won't be covered on your medical expenses, in an emergency, or other dangerous situations. With the proper travel insurance you can rest assured that you will get the treatment you need if you get into things as small as a car accident or as large as a natural disaster when travelling abroad.

3. Terrorism

Terrorism isn't limited to the US, it occurs around the globe. If a terrorist act suddenly breaks out in an area that you have booked a flight to, the airline is not required to provide you with a refund if you choose not to travel to the area because of terrorism - that is, unless you have travel insurance. These events are completely random and can't be predicted, so it's better to have insurance and be safe than sorry. Even if you don't get hurt at a local cafe by someone blowing themselves to pieces, your flight can be cancelled at any time and it would be very good if you could get your money back.

4. Lost Luggage

One of the most common problems when travelling is lost luggage. You might pile thousands of dollars of goods onto a flight, especially if you are moving to a new country. Travel insurance will surely be a good investment. Travel insurance acts to insure whatever items are lost or stolen so you are able to replace your belongings. <bio>For more great insurance related articles and resources check out http://travel-informer.info </bio>

A lot of European nations utilize public video surveillance as a leading tool for monitoring movement and possible terrorist acts. The United Kingdom is known for relying heavily on video surveillance in crime prevention efforts. Some studies show that video surveillance is indeed making an impact in the fight against crime.

Its Beginnings

Video surveillance in the United Kingdom started n 1986 in an industrial estate outside the town of King's Lynn. Video surveillance cameras were installed and their usefulness was immediately apparent. Before the cameras were put in place, almost 60 crimes were recorded. Two years after installation, there were no crimes reported. Needless to say, other town and cities followed suit.

Soon after that, the government made a large amount of money available to establish surveillance programs in different areas. Municipal systems have been operating for over a decade but there is little formal data to measure actual effectiveness. However, British government reports assert that these surveillance systems are in fact, a major reason for declining crime rates.

A good example is Liverpool which has one of the largest systems in Great Britain. Shoplifting, prostitution, and vandalism have decreased by 25 percent. Residents there say they feel safer, even at night. It also seems that people charged with crimes plead guilty most of the time when faced with videotaped evidence of their misdeeds.

Most Britons are aware of these video surveillance systems. Going shopping, riding a train, buying gas, going to the bank, attending a soccer match. If someone does any of this, chances are his image will be recorded on video. This means that citizens notice the cameras but do not really seem to mind them. In fact, a surprising number of people support the use of video surveillance systems. But some people do think that the setup is Orwellian in nature.

Proof In The Pudding

Supporters emphasize that video surveillance is invaluable in apprehending criminals. Kidnappings and terrorist bombings have been prevented with the use of this technology. Arrests were conducted after video images were broadcast to the public and citizens responded. Video surveillance is also helping to clean up the notorious image of English soccer. Fans who had disrupted games in the past were barred from attending future matches with the help of surveillance images.

The advantage of the British video surveillance systems is that nearly all of them are linked to local police stations. If not, they are monitored by private security guards in a central location. If a guard notices an illegal act, the image can be sent to the police monitors so the authorities can react accordingly.

The United Kingdom has embraced video surveillance as powerful tool in law enforcement. Civil libertarians may decry their prevalence but there is no denying that they are effective in helping the authorities. It is a matter of proper usage of this technology.
I want to show you how to not be dependent on somebody else's anointing. It's the anointing that breaks the yoke of sickness or anything else. There's no doubt about that. That is a fact. What we must understand is that the anointing comes on an act of faith.

Let me repeat it. The anointing comes on an act of faith. You can control this anointing simply by performing it. Therefore, if you act on faith, you control the anointing that follows because the anointing comes on an act of faith.

Now, I am going to give you The Seven Acts of Faith which makes up the Battle Healing Prayer. We put all seven of them together and use them as a unit. When we use them in concert, we can shake Heaven, earth and the pits of hell with them.

There are seven things you can do which bring down the anointing of God. When His anointing falls upon these seven acts, it will get for you what you need from God.

No matter what it is that you need, whether healing, financial blessing, no matter what it is, these seven acts that you must perform will deliver for you. All seven of these acts of faith must be done in their proper order.

These seven steps are nothing more than spiritual warfare. Therefore, I call praying for the sick or doing spiritual warfare simply "The Seven Acts of Faith which brings down the anointing for Healing (or whatever I need) Every time." I also call them "Your Battle Healing Prayer."

Terminology and titles are not as important as remembering that these Seven Acts are things you must do. But remember! They must be done in their proper order.

Act of Faith #1: Praise the Lord and keep on praising Him until you feel his presence.

(Based on Psalms 22:3 plus many more Scriptures.)

Act of Faith #2: Specifically pray to God in Jesus name for two and only two things here. 1. Pray for Him to remove the pain from the subjects body. 2. Pray for Him to heal the cause of their pain.

(Based on John 15:7 plus many more Scriptures.)

Act of Faith #3: Bind the Strongman. The Strongman is the devil himself. He must be bound before you can attack the demon that is either causing or assisting in the sickness of the subject. Quit worrying about what you believe, just do it! Bind the Strongman!

(Based on Mt 12:29, Mr 3:27, and Lu 11:21.)

Act of Faith #4: Cast out the demon! Tell him his strongman has been bound and that he has no right to be causing sickness in the subjects body. Command him to come out in Jesus name and take this sickness, pain, injury and disease with him. Say, "In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, come out of Subject's name, and take all your sickness and pain with you.

(Based on Mark 16: 17 plus many other Scriptures)

Act of Faith #5: Speak to the pain. Command the pain to come out of Subject's name. Tell it to come out now. Say, "Pain in Jesus' name, come out of Subject's name!"

(Based on Mark 11:23 plus many more Scriptures.)

Act of Faith #6: Speak death into the sickness and pain. Say, "Sickness! I speak death into you. I declare, decree and establish the death sentence in you. Die at the roots! Dry up! Come out of Subject's name in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth! You are dead and can do no more damage! Come out of Subject's name now!

(Based on Mark 11:23 plus many more Scriptures.)

Act of Faith #7: Speak healing into Subject's name. Say, "I declare, decree and establish you healed." Then command the subject to heal. Say, "Be healed in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, be healed! Be healed! Be healed! In Jesus' name, be healed!

(Based on Acts 3:6 plus many more Scriptures.)

Repeat these Seven Acts over and over each and every day until the victory comes. It will. The anointing always comes on an act of faith. Here are Seven Acts for the anointing to come upon. <bio>Dr. Jay Snell authored eleven books proving the healing, prosperity, family well being, salvation, eternal security and pretribulation rapture provided for Christians in the Abrahamic covenant. http://www.jaysnell.org </bio>

Cheap annual travel insurance is hugely popular amongst UK holiday goers, allowing them to travel when and where they wish without having to worry about booking travel insurance for every single trip. Many people assume that their cheap travel insurance will cover them against every eventuality, but this isn't the case. There are plenty of exclusions in the average travel insurance document, and one of the most well known but least understood of these is the "acts of God" exclusion. What do travel insurance companies mean by an act of God? And what might not be covered by your annual travel insurance?

What are "Acts of God"?

Traditionally, "acts of God" was a standard exclusion clause that featured in many different kinds of insurance; travel, housing, property and so on. Essentially, it refers to "a sudden and violent act of nature that could not have been foreseen or prevented", typically meaning natural disasters such as:

• Hurricanes and tempests

• Lightening storms

• Floods

• Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions

Mass outbreaks of infectious diseases are also often classed as "acts of God" (perhaps in some kind of biblical reference to the seven plagues of ancient Egypt!). Essentially, the exclusion clause means that if an event is classed as an act of God, any costs that you incur as a result of it may not be covered by your travel insurance, and you will not be entitled to any compensation from your insurance company.

Nowadays, an actual "acts of God" exclusion isn't always in a travel insurance policy, but most insurers still have similar exclusions in place under different names, such as "natural disasters". It may seem like a chore, but you really do need to read your travel insurance policy carefully before you go -- if you think you are covered for something and you aren't, you could end up paying a small fortune in medical and transport costs. When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and Florida, hundreds of holiday goers found themselves caught out, unable to claim compensation for the costs incurred or the cancellation of their trips.

If you are travelling to a place that has a risk of natural disasters, make sure you talk to your travel insurance company to make sure your insurance will protect you.

What about Acts of War and Acts of Terrorism?

While acts of God is one of the most well known exclusion clauses, in today's international climate, terrorism is also a common exclusion. Much like natural disasters, if you incur costs or your holiday is cancelled because of terrorism, your travel insurance may well be invalid. If terrorism is a potential hazard for your destination of choice, check that your worldwide travel insurance will cover you against acts of terrorism -- some insurers do provide this kind of protection, but many do not.

Most travel insurance policies will be invalidated by serious civil unrest or if war breaks out in a country while you are travelling there -- the Foreign Office website is the best place to visit to check up on the political stability of your holiday destination, as it provides up to date and accurate information about the potential hazards of every country in the world.<bio>Patrick Chong is the Managing Director of Journey's Travel.
It is not uncommon to experience difficulties with sleeping every once in a while; but, it is only when the problem persists for a considerable period of time that it may be considered to be a sleep disorder.

When it is caused by anxiety, the problem may not be quite so simple to cure as you might have expected because anxiety sleep disorder can range from mild to very severe which can keep you from getting any sleep at all. Among the different kinds of anxiety sleep disorder, you will find one that is especially nerve wrecking and that is when you get panic disorders.

Panic Disorders

Panic disorder is a severe instance of anxiety in which the sufferer will feel that something terrible is going to happen and it is also something that can strike without giving any warning. Also, the condition is particularly devastating at night when it may even require the sufferer to be hospitalized because of its intensity, and it is in such situations, really an extreme case of anxiety sleep disorder.

Another type of anxiety sleep disorder that a person can suffer from is the one that is called post traumatic stress syndrome in which a person will feel very anxious after having had a traumatic event such as an accident, rape or even terrorist acts. Such events come to haunt the person especially in the nighttime when the person becomes most fearful and will thus have difficulty in getting any sleep.

There is also another type of anxiety sleep disorder which is the one known as obsessive-compulsive disorder in which the sufferer is obsessed with thinking about rituals that are quite uncontrollable and which persist even though the person knows that these thoughts are quite senseless. It is an instance of anxiety sleep disorder which can be attributed to feeling fear and thus a person will not get to sleep because he or she is in dread of experiencing nightmares, while it can even be due to depression turning into anxiety much as can other mental disorders.

To be able to deal with an anxiety sleep disorder, one may need to take certain steps including practicing good sleep hygiene and even attempting self hypnosis. While a hot bath before turning in for the night is also recommended though it should not be a shower that can prove to be a bit too stimulating and which could thus keep you from falling asleep. Another option available to anyone suffering from anxiety sleep disorder is to listen to soothing music while in bed and even meditation and some yoga movements can help in treating the problem. http://www.about-sleep-disorder.com/ <bio>http://www.about-sleep-disorder.com/ </bio>

Recent world events have instilled a sense of fear in anyone who turns on the television or opens a newspaper. People are more aware of their vulnerabilities, and more interested in purchasing insurance. The irony is that the same disasters, disease and acts of war have created a negative trend in the property and casualty insurance industry, to the point where these types of insurance are more expensive and more difficult for consumers to obtain.

The property and casualty insurance industry posted a $7.9 billion net loss in 2001. According to the Insurance Services Office (ISO) and the National Association of Independent Insurers (NAII), this is first time that the industry has ever reported a net loss. Experts predicted a negative 2.7 percent return rate for property and casualty insurance, almost 6.5 percent lower than the return rate of the year 2000.

These losses have caused a number of property and casualty insurance companies to cut back in an effort to economize. One step taken to reduce losses was to avoid adding any new property and casualty insurance policies. The insurers have also purposefully stopped updating or renewing existing property and casualty insurance policies. As a result, the premium price of property and casualty insurance policies has increased.

A number of factors are said to have caused the property and casualty insurance problem, including acts of terrorism, natural disasters, economic turmoil, and even mold.

The headline of one trial lawyer publication, "Mold is Gold", indicated that recent court decisions against insurers had jeopardized profitability of the property and casualty insurance industry. Invasive mold was recognized as the latest household hazard, and property and casualty insurance policyholders were cashing in with lucrative lawsuits. A well-publicized Texas lawsuit resulted in a staggering $32.1 million decision -- extremely profitable for the owner, potentially devastating for the property and casualty insurance industry.

The terrorist attacks of September 11 greatly contributed to the negative impact on the property and casualty insurance industry. It has been reported that property and casualty insurance claims related to the events of September 11 totaled as much as $70 billion. The same event has also caused the decline of the stock market, adding to the insurance industry's downward trend.

This negative impact has also had a detrimental effect on the real estate industry, where property and casualty insurance is essential. Property and casualty insurance coverage is essential when applying for a conventional, government-assisted and commercial mortgage; without it, lending companies will reject the mortgage application. Therefore, the real estate market cannot function properly if this type of insurance is more expensive or less accessible. In real estate, mortgages are paramount in closing the vast majority of sales. Without property and casualty insurance, there won't be any mortgages, and sales in the real estate market will plummet. Moreover, without property and casualty insurance coverage, homeowners would find it difficult or impossible to maintain their mortgage obligations. Lenders would be forced to foreclose on the property, or subject the homeowners to expensive lender forced-place coverage.

No one can contest the devastating personal consequences of natural disasters, acts of terrorism and disease. The insurance and real estate industries are two examples of how these events have had a negative impact on our economy as well. <bio>Linda Davis writes for several web sites, such as http://yetra.com and http://tocip.com </bio>

If you are ready to book a vacation deal for you and your family, one thing you may want to consider is whether or not you need to invest in travel insurance. Many travel agents will tell you that you should always have travel insurance, just in case, to make sure you can get your money back for all those hotel reservations, airline tickets and travel tours, but you may be wondering if you really need it.

There are many things that could happen to make travel insurance a necessity. Some may relate to you, such as an illness that limits your ability to travel. Others may be things that are totally out of your control, such as an airline that goes out of business and leaves you with no flight at the airport. If you have travel insurance you will be able to recoup your expenses. Anyone who has ever found him or her self in such a situation likely thinks travel insurance is worth its weight in gold.

What if something happens to you when you are already traveling? If you are in a foreign country and are injured, it is possible that your medical insurance will not cover your expenses. If you have travel insurance it will cover the cost of your treatments for whatever medical issue you are experiencing.

Another consideration that no one wants to think about is if there is another terrorist attack. When 9-11 occurred, many people started to have second thoughts about traveling to countries where terrorism had occurred or where regular terrorist instances were likely. Just because an area is threatened by violence does not mean the airlines have to give you any of your money back if you decide not to fly, unless you have travel insurance.

There are many other things that may cause a flight to be cancelled. From weather to an airline strike, there are a lot of things that can happen to stop you from getting to go on a flight that you had paid for. If a flight is not rescheduled, it is possible that the airline will not offer a refund. This is another time travel insurance will come in handy, helping you get your money back if your flight does not take off, no matter the reason.

There is little worse than getting to your destination only to find your luggage has not made the trek with you. Sometimes the bag will turn up. Other times, it is lost for good. Travel insurance can lessen the impact of this loss by insuring the items that are inside your suitcase so you can replace what you have lost.

If you have decided travel insurance is the way to go, make sure to do a little research before you buy. Not all travel insurance plans are alike, and you should look through the offerings of a number of companies before settling on just one. Also, if you are a regular traveler, you may even want to look into a long-term travel insurance police. <bio>Focusing on news and information about Spain, Jack Blacksmith published principally for http://www.alicante-spain.com . It was in this chaotic realm that Mullah Mohammed Omar became a leader of a new fighting group. He called them the "Taliban."

The Taliban

The word Taliban translates to "student." Many of Omar's first recruits were students of Islam. Those members of the Taliban were also part of the ethnic group the Pashtun and they were seeking to impose their version of Islamic law on the country. They were extremists to put it mildly. Under the laws of the Taliban women could not go to school nor could they work outside of their homes.

The men had to grow beards and regularly attend religious services and those that belonged to a religious minority had to wear clothing that identified them as non-Islamic. These artifacts were destroyed resulting in the destruction of many valuable ancient relics.

Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban

The new Taliban rule under Omar attracted many other extremists and one of these was Osama bin Laden. He was the leader of the terrorist group called al-Qaeda. He supported the jihad that was part of the resistance against the Soviets and it was an ironic note that during that time period the United States was a huge supporter of the resistance of Afghanistan. They helped to set up in Pakistan, schools for refugee children that ironically turned into a place for the radicals of Islam to train.

The Conflict in Afghanistan Today

After the terrorist attacks by Al-Qaeda on September 11th, 2001 on the U.S. Pentagon and the New York City World Trade Center, the United States under the leadership of President George Bush began the campaign called "Operation Enduring Freedom" a conflict with Afghanistan. The war in Iraq later on distracted the carrying out of the goals in Afghanistan and the fugitive Osama bin Laden is still at large.
The Who is an English rock band that started in the 1960's and minus a few hiatuses have managed to be together since. The Who tend to get overshadowed by a lot of the other big acts that were out at the time. This is a real shame because they definitely deserve their place in the annals of rock n rock history. Along with Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones, the Who were deeply influenced by America's Southern Blues of the previous generation. The Who in comparison to the other acts were more aggressive. Their songs were short and fast and tended to be about off color subjects of a more real nature than even what the Rolling Stones were doing.

Their catalogue is littered with great albums. One of my favorite live albums of all time is Live at Leeds from 1970. While the whole album lasts less than twenty minutes it is a great example of why the Who are still remembered as one of craziest live acts of their day. This was after the point that the band was smashing the whole set up as part of their stage show.

As far as their studio releases go 1978's Who are You remains one of their finest achievements. Two of my personal favorites are the title track Who are You and melodic and beautiful Music Must Change. This album remains a shining gem in already stellar career. Even after Keith Moon had passed on, the band managed to reinvent itself. They were making the trends instead of following them. Even towards the end of their studio career they managed to put out some great albums. One is Face Dances from 1981 feature the hits You Better You Bet and Another Tricky Day. Another one is It's Hard from 1982 featuring the classic song Eminence Front. There are two great albums worth checking out. <bio>For more information on the Who, visit http://www.musicandsuch.com/the_who.html </bio>

It appears, scandalously enough, to be the question Islamic terrorism foists on us. Of course, there are times when a chancy question can diplomatically be allowed to slip by unanswered, especially by a humor magazine. But there are also times when, instead of slipping by, it just keeps putting itself in your face. On such occasions, apparently, the only way to deal with it for ourselves and our readers is to address it.

We became even more convinced of the necessity as we experienced another ineffably sad 9/11.

So here we go, back to Theology 101.

Do does God advocate murder? Even more scandalous, does God usher off to an eternal reward in heaven those who murder in his name?

First, let's get our definition of God in order. We can certainly all agree that He (She or They) is simply the ultimate source of us all. You can add your own details. The inference would still apply. A God with a credit like "the ultimate source of us all" would be very unlikely to endorse one group of us murdering any other group.

If you add to the definition the accolade "God is great," the likelihood that He (She or They) would advocate murder only seems to diminish even further. After all, we do not consider, when widely workable values have a place, murder an attribute of greatness, which is one reason we do not consider mafia bosses who order it and then reward the perpetrators as great. We toss them in jail. And we certainly don't want to think of God as someone who should be locked up for murder.

Just to put a bow on the logical present we would like to ship off to Osama bin Laden, if we only knew his address, and to his planeloads of ill-fated dupes, we offer the following -- of all things? -- syllogism: God is great. Greatness, at least, as virtuous people understand it, does not include murder. Therefore, God does not advocate murder.

Now, let's take the other side of the argument for a moment to clarify our position: God is great. Greatness, as virtuous people understand it, includes murder. Therefore, God advocates murder.

We can say for our part, if the opposite side of the argument applies, we are then in the same riverboat with Mark Twain, who, when contemplating eternity, said, "Heaven for climate; hell for society."

Speaking about eternity, let's deal with the second part of the question. Since we have determined that any God worthy of the name would not advocate murder, but would, as the ultimate source of all our lives, more likely abhor it, probably as the worst offense. So, within the traditional paradigm of reward and punishment in terms of upward or downward mobility, such a God would more likely have waiting for them, not an upwardly mobile reward, but a decidedly downward punishment.

We have now done what we can to address the outrageous terrorist platform of God misconstrued as advocating and rewarding murder and hope we have helped slip the platform out from under at least some of its mistaken proponents, so that they might awaken as they topple and spare their own lives and the lives of the people they might otherwise murder.

We may, we think, conclude with the assurance that, as it might grace a folk song, 9/11 and ain't no terrorist in heaven. <bio>Tom Attea, humorist and creator of http://NewsLaugh.com, has had six shows produced Off-Broadway. Critics have called his writing "delightfully funny," "witty," with "great humor and ebullience" and "good, genuine laughs." </bio>
