Ever wonder why he works so hard to get into a relationship with you, only to suddenly run away with his tail between his legs when you try to talk to him about commitment? It happens to a lot of women -- their men are either too immature, unavailable, or simply unprepared for a relationship. Which is weird, since they worked so hard to be your boyfriend in the first place, right?

Actually, men don't see the issue of commitment the same way as women do. Women consider the element of time -- some women feel that men should be ready to commit after they've shared a few great weeks in their relationship. Others think that they should start talking about the long-term after a few months. Heck, a man should be ready to settle down and have a family after you've gone steady for a few years, right?

Well, men don't see it that way -- the factor of time doesn't matter to them. In fact, what he says and shows about the issue of commitment doesn't affect how he feels about settling down. It's like a dormant emotion in his psyche that only wakes up when he knows and feels in his gut that it's the right time to settle down and discuss the long-term with you.

Unfortunately, the reflex of withdrawing ("running away") from you is also a dormant emotion, triggered when you discuss, complain about, or try to convince him about settling down together for the long-term. When women get impatient and give their men "ultimatums" about their future together, it's a sure way of shooting themselves in the foot.

Think about it. Do men really commit to you simply because you asked them to?

Of course they do -- but only in an ideal world.

The fact of the matter is that men will only commit to you when he knows that you really are the one they'd like to spend the rest of their lives with. And only they can convince themselves of the fact. Trust me, you can't. And you shouldn't, if you don't want him to change his mind!

So what can you do to keep him from withdrawing, while at the same time keep yourself from reaching your wits' end waiting?

The best way is to develop a trait that so many people these days don't believe in. It's honesty.

By that, it doesn't mean that you should just go right ahead and lay out all your cards for him. Before that, you'll have to be honest with yourself. Who are you, and what do you want?

Being completely honest with yourself will let you present yourself to the world as you are -- without the masks and pretensions. It'll also make it easier to sort out the better men from the jerks. Men who are more open to commitment are also more appreciative of women who can be honest with herself and the world -- and are also more likely to talk to you about settling down for the long-term.<bio>Aaron Adams specialises in relationship matters for women.
Lack of commitment is often the reason we give for a failed relationships. One partner normally carries the blame for this, but the truth is that both partners will be responsible. Commitment is one of the least understood aspects of romantic partnerships because we often lack the emotional awareness to understand why it can be difficult to achieve in a long-term relationship. Commitment is really about our willingness to heal our own insecurities.

When we do not feel committed to somebody we are afraid that we will not be able to love them for ever. We may well have fallen in love and been convinced of our commitment in the early stages of the relationship, but as time progresses the doubt sets in. We may also fear that our commitment to one person will mean that we will lose something we feel is vital to our happiness such as freedom, autonomy or sex. We may feel trapped in a relationship, with feelings of claustrophobia and lack of control. There will be a strong temptation to end the relationship and see if there is somebody who will make us happier.

Deep down, our fear of commitment comes from a feeling that we are not good enough and that nobody, including us, deserves or can achieve continuous loving attention. Our lack of self-esteem is projected out into our relationship. We do not really have faith in the power of love to solve problems and maintain our relationship through the inevitable ups and downs. This lack of self-belief usually originates when we are very young and is then accentuated during the challenges of adult life. In looking for a partner we are trying to find somebody who will heal our insecurities and make us feel happy. Unfortunately nobody can do this for us and if we are unwilling to work on our own issues we will tend to search for the rest of our life for the `perfect' partner. Of course, these people do not exist.

The Way Through Commitment Issues

Commitment in a relationship means that we believe wholeheartedly in the power of love and our ability to work to heal any issues with our partner which create problems and increase the emotional distance. Commitment is therefore about a willingness and determination to communicate about our feelings and work with our partner to heal our insecurities. Anybody can commit in the good times, but it takes courage to maintain it through the more difficult phases of a relationship.

We must change our mindset from the assumption that our lack of commitment is due to deficiencies in our partner. Any judgments that we have about our partner are really projections of our own self-judgment. This is why our ability to commit comes from our ability to find self-love. As we learn to drop our own self-judgment and build self-esteem, we will feel more love for our partner and then we will then find it easier to commit.

Perversely the solution to a lack of commitment is to commit! As you do so, your doubt will disappear and you will reveal the truth of the relationship. With commitment a relationship becomes deeper and more intense, making up for the perceived loss of breadth that you believed was the price for commitment. Commitment is a recognition of our state of connectedness to another person and is built on our intention to remove any issues that prevent a realization of this. As we commit, we see more and more beauty in our partner and our mutual love carries the relationship forward in a sustained and loving bond. <bio>Peter Granger is an acclaimed relationship counsellor and life coach.
All your friends seem to be engaged. When you see each other, all you talk about are the plans for the wedding and where the honeymoon is going to be. When you look back, you can't seem to remember how many of your friends said goodbye to being single and embraced the blissful married life.

When you think about it, you're not really a bad woman. You have a successful career, and you're an overall good person. But how come all the men you've dated so far are afraid of the word commitment?

Your current boyfriend may be someone you wish to end up marrying. But every time you talk about marriage, or when you drop hints now and then about how happy your married friends are, he seems to blank out and stops hearing what you are saying. Talking about moving in together gets the same response as well.

If you can relate to the scenario above, then you may be dating a man who is "commitment phobe" or a man scared of the word commitment.

A "commitment phobe" doesn't believe in the word "forever." He may even have doubts about spending "forever" with you. This isn't because he doesn't love you -- it's just that he's scared of the thought of spending his whole life with any one person.

For him the mere fact that you're together and that you have a somewhat stable relationship is enough. He'd think that committing to a more serious relationship would curtail all the freedom that he enjoys.

Being hurt in the past may be another reason why he doesn't want to give his all into the relationship. But you can be sure that once the right woman comes along, he'll forget about all the hurt and will gladly settle down. That woman could be you.

In reality, men are "programmed" to think that commitment isn't beneficial for them. So it's going to be a challenge for you to "re-program" him and make him think that commitment is something that he really needs and can benefit from.

By now you know that no amount of nagging can change his mind. So it is important for you to understand how your man's mind works so that you can change his mindset to your advantage. He must realize his need of somebody to spend the rest of his life with. You can only do this if you stop clinging on to tightly too him and by going back to the kind of woman that he fell for in the beginning.

The change should come from him, but you can help lead him towards the change that he needs. Discover what makes your man tick and use this to your advantage. Let him see what a wonderful woman you really are and he'll slowly see you again in the same light that got him interested in day one. Don't be clingy, but instead be independent -- the kind of woman who knows what she wants and how to get it.

Then he'll see you as somebody he should never let go of. By understanding how his mind works, you'll make him go the direction you want him to, and that includes a long-term commitment with you.<bio>Find out the truth about why a man commits or withdraws.
After you have dated someone for several months, it is natural to wonder about your relationship's level of exclusivity. After all, most long-term relationships seem geared toward commitment at some level. However, left unspoken, many people have a tendency to think that their partners feel the same way they do. They are often surprised to discover that their partners feel differently.

Are you and your dating partner equally committed to each other and to your relationship? In this article, we'll explore how your past relationships may signal your own inherent aversion to commitment. Plus, we'll describe a few of the obstacles on the way toward enjoying an exclusive, loving relationship.

Is Your Past Telling?

When pressed, most people will claim that they would like to pursue a committed, loving relationship with someone who feels the same. However, our past relationships often betray our claims. That is, the people we have dated in the past may have exhibited behaviors that seem inconsistent with a committed relationship. When there is a trend of such behaviors, it may imply that we are not looking for commitment.

For example, assume that you have dated a string of people who have been consistently unfaithful. Rather than leaving them, you have remained in those relationships until they have imploded of their own accord. The willingness to stay may be mistaken for commitment, but can actually imply a self-sabotaging tendency.

Ghosts Of The Past

The older we get, the more emotional baggage we carry. Ideally, we are able to dispel most of it and get on with our lives. However, many people collect the baggage from the past and carry it with them into new relationships. Unresolved, this baggage can sabotage the new relationship. Unless we take the necessary time to resolve past transgressions, forging a healthy commitment with another person is unlikely. In effect, we need to achieve closure and leave the ghosts of the past in the past.

Fulfillment, Then Commitment

Nobody else can make you feel fulfilled about yourself. It comes from within. Seeking it from someone else puts undue (and unfair) strain and pressure on that other person. That said, once you feel okay with who you are as a person, it is much easier to develop a loving relationship that is built upon mutual commitment.

At this point, you should look for consistencies between you and your dating partner. Do you share the same ideals about morality? Are your long-term goals and desires compatible? Is your partner coping with any personal issues such as addictions, health concerns, or other problems? Uncovering the answers to these questions is the next step toward a committed relationship. And it requires communication.

Being Upfront With Your Partner

In dating relationships, many people have a tendency to avoid direct communication about issues. Exclusivity and commitment are good examples. Sometimes, one partner assumes the other feels the same about the level of commitment - or, lack thereof - in the relationship. Other times, one partner may fear the answer and simply avoid asking. In both cases, the ambiguity can create a major problem.

If you are in a relationship and want it to be exclusive, you need to be upfront with your partner. Maybe they feel the same as you; maybe they don't. But, uncertainty will only exacerbate the issue. Assuming that you are ready for a commitment, clearly communicating as much to your partner is the surest path toward enjoying a fruitful, loving relationship with each other.<bio>Danforth Diamond is one of the leading names providing affordable engagement rings and other diamond jewelry.
What is Marriage?

It has become apparent that the root cause of a lack of commitment comes from misperceptions and miscommunication. One of the primary culprits is our modern view of marriage. Marriage itself is defined as a "union between two people". The modern ceremony we call "marriage", is in fact just that: a marriage ceremony, not marriage itself. Whether or not two people hold hands down an aisle and have a government piece of paper is not what makes two people married. In fact, it doesn't change anything about the two people, except for what they have mentally decided to change for themselves.

So at what point are you married?

This varies, but the usual consensus is when you have intercourse you "join flesh" in a "union" and become one. The ceremony is merely representative of the "union" you are about to partake, for all of society to see so society can enforce the union.

You mean to tell me, I'm married?

There is no doubting when to people have sexual relations they have joined flesh. When they break-up it is as painful as ripping flesh, hence the creative analogy. What differs about modern society is they place all the value in a piece of paper from the government and a lavish ceremony.

Backlash of casual "marriage"

Since casual sex is almost expected of any new couple, so is commitment. In order to protect themselves in such a dangerous environment where diseases and the pain of breakup after the "union" are common, daters have taken to instant-commitment. Most daters expect an exclusive relationship from the moment of dating. Yet, one cannot build commitment upon a non-existent relationship, so many only pretend to be committed. This makes the real commitment down the road lose all it's meaning.

Marriage is the point at which daters originally became "exclusive"

Ironically, in an environment where sex before marriage is taboo, dating itself was not exclusive. You dated the one you liked the most, but it was not uncommon to court many separate loves. This may have caused jealousy, but it was considered normal. Marriage was the final point at which couples would decide to commit, and an engagement period was the test of that commitment. <bio>Jonathan Baldwin runs a dating website, http://www.matchmaking-service.net.
Using online dating sites when you are looking for a long term relationship is a brilliant way of getting a quick result. Not only do dating services save you from going out night after night in the hope that you just might come across Mr or Mrs Right but they enable you to find profiles which match specific criteria and provide you with a far better chance of progressing towards a long term relationship.

If you want a serious long term relationship you have to be far more careful in your selection than if you were just out for a bit of fun. A one night stands or a short term fling doesn't really require much more than a level of attraction but if you want to progress towards a relationship that is more long term you need to start considering such things as compatibility and ability to commit.

For a start there is no point dating someone who has made it quite clear that they aren't looking for anything complicated just in the hope that they might come around to your way of thinking and allow the relationship to progress in the long term. Quite often those out looking for a bit of fun just love the excitement of a new relationship and once the 'honeymoon' period is over they just move on to the next one. The chance of getting such a person to knuckle down and commit to a long term relationship is quite slim.

Then there are those who absolutely love themselves. They post brilliant profiles on the dating sites which draw in those who read them like flies to a magnet. They are usually out to attract partners as 'stunning' as they are and are rarely into commitment and long term relationships. For them a relationship is often nothing more than a bauble that can be easily replaced after a period of time and are unlikely to be the kind of person that you would want to have or could expect to have a long term relationship with.

If you are seriously out for a long term and meaningful relationship use online dating profiles to the full. Get to know a person through what they have to say and the way they say it, check out likes and dislikes, look for common interests and check out if they are in the market for a long term relationship as well. Do your groundwork then if you are interested in what you see make initial contact.

Don't just base your judgement on looks and looks alone. To make a long term relationship work you have to appreciate and be in tune with the whole person. A compromise on appearance and an appreciation of character, personality and individual charm could mean that you will have a far more fulfilling relationship and a greater chance of making a long term relationship work. <bio>For more on dating and http://www.1st-4-relationships.com visit 1st-4-relationships.com </bio>

Commitment is a tough thing. How many things have you started in your life and have given up and moved on to something else? We all have in one capacity or another. Finding something to truly commit to takes a ton of work, persistence, and dedication. Commitment is not found, it is a growth process that tests your fortitude. The same holds true for home business. When choosing home based work, it seems like the hard part is finding the right one. I disagree. The toughest part is committing to the business(es) you have chosen to do. If people have the mindset ---"This one did not make me any money in 24 hours" --- they will jump to the next and the next and so forth. The only true successes I have seen in my adventures in home business are those that commit to a business, make it successful and then start something else.

There are those who can make multiple businesses successful at one time, but they will more than likely have those opportunities available on one website. They have consolidated these opportunities into an easy format. Commitment is vital for your family to work, your faith, your marriage, employment, etc... Why not make a commitment to yourself and the opportunity you are involved in? It can free you and let you be at home and do things on your terms!

You have to make the choice to fully commit yourself to the one or more businesses you choose and stick to it! Make it work. It can be a war of attrition, but the work will pay off in the end.

It is your battle, commit to it until victory! Commitment brings results and results bring financial freedom. Financial freedom brings a life that you set your day and dreams in motion. Vow this to yourself that you will make this work and you will succeed!

God Bless, <bio>Doug Gorman is owner of Work Be Gone! and writes on multiple topics from business to humor. By making your own preliminary comparison of low cost long term care insurance in Oregon you will be better prepared to ask the tough questions that need answers before you make the commitment for an insurance policy that may very well determine the quality of at least a portion of your future life. <bio><a href="http://ezquoteguide.com/longtermcare/" >http://ezquoteguide.com/longtermcare/ Fast Long Term Care Quotes in Oregon http://www.myquoteguide.com/Long-Term.shtml Free Long Term Care Insurance </bio>

I was at a meeting last week where a man I respect used the term "all in". He used it in a relevant, powerful and eloquent way. In doing so, he caught my attention. And he compelled me to myself two questions.

This first question was, what does it really mean to be "all in"?

"All in" is a poker term that means you have bet everything you have on your hand. It means, all your chips are in play. Winning is the only option or you're out of the game.

Outside of poker it's come to mean being committed to something. In the same way a gambler risks all his chips, a person who declares himself (or herself) to be "all in" is saying they're playing for keeps. They're giving it everything they have and they intend to win. And, if they lose, at least they do so knowing they gave it their best shot.

I like this. It shows dedication. It shows commitment. As with poker, a person who is all in, can't be bluffed out or easily swayed. They've committed everything they have so they're serious. They're sticking with it until the fat lady sings. Win, lose or draw, a person who is all in is someone you can count on. They're confident and determined. Winning or going down with all guns blazing are the only options for them.

That's why I like the term. It's short, punchy and powerful. It's an effective way to tell someone, "you can depend on me because I'm in this for keeps."

The second question was, "am I all in?"

This is a useful question. And, the more I think about it, the more I like it. It forces me to consider how committed I am to something.

For example, my wife and I are participating in sessions at our church that are designed to help us strengthen our marriage. One of the first things we learned in these sessions is that the most important factor in a marriage succeeding is commitment. Not trust, not love, not faith, not hard work. Commitment.

So if you want your marriage to be a great marriage, you need to be all in.

And, in my business, the same is true. How can I expect people to pay me for my time, advice and services if I'm not all in? Anything less than all in means I'm taking a shortcut. It means I'm not willing to do everything I need to serve my clients they way they want to be served. It means I'm not sure this is the right thing for me. It means I'm unsure of the road I've chosen. If I'm unwilling to be all in, then it means I'm unwilling to be the best.

Who would you rather do business with? Do you want to work with people who will go to the mat for you every single time? Or do you want to do business with people who are just here until something better comes along?

My conclusion is easy. With my marriage, I'm all in. With my friends and family, I'm all in. With my business and clients, I'm all in. The next step is to make sure I'm doing everything I can every day to show that I really am all in. That's not always easy but it's a lot easier to do knowing I'm committed.

How about you? Are you all in? And if you are, are you doing the things that show it every day?<bio>Kevin Stirtz is the Amazing Service Guy.
Romance novels are about the first ninety days of any relationship. They write about the time when passion is the greatest, sex is the best it's ever been with anyone ever and you have found the world's only perfect person.

Sometimes love stories are told about relationships that bloom and last through the years but the true romance novel is about the first ninety days - or thereabouts. There are those that will say that having a great first ninety days with someone portends the possibility of a great long term relationship.

That's truly hogwash. If you meet someone and are attracted enough to them to have a second or third date and initiate a sexual encounter then you can have a terrific first ninety days.

Anyone who attracts us that far will probably not fall off their pedestal until at least the first ninety days is past. Ninety days is not good test of anything. The honeymoon in a relationship generally lasts that long, and even longer.

We're not saying the first ninety days is unimportant. It is. If the relationship turns out to be long term those first sexy romantic, passionate, head over heels in love first ninety days will be remembered always -- even after the mate has long since departed this earth.

But the first ninety days being blissful, loving, tender, sweet, passionate and endearing does not proof of long term love make. There are those whirlwind romances that bloom, go beyond the "honeymoon" stage and grow to commitment within the first ninety days.

They mostly happen in relationships between older adults who've had long term relationships or marriages before. Most new relationships, however, haven't progressed nearly that far in the first ninety days.

It's not until the fourth month or much later that you find out if he or she is commitment phobic, if they are a slob, if they hate children and don't ever want to have any, if they are married to their work and will never have time for you, or if they're ready to walk down the aisle and start breeding next year. Then, of course, there are lasting relationships -- many of them, in fact, whose first ninety days were horrible, were battles of will, with one or more of the potential partners running from the relationship, denying the attraction, or thinking the partner not well suited.

Sometimes these relationships are the strongest because they have to really take a look at themselves and their partners before they make a strong decision that the relationship was meant to be.

The first ninety days of these relationships due anything but tell the story of what is meant to be, and what should be. All in all, the first ninety days may be great, and may be romantic and passionate and filled with great times and wonderful memories. But they don't portend the future. Not at all. <bio>Jason Roberts is a writer for http://GuaranteedOnlineDatingSystem.com which is an excellent place to find Dating links, For more information go to:www.guaranteedonlinedatingsystem.com </bio>

Commitment to a goal is usually measured by the action that someone takes to achieve the goal. Adults with ADD usually start out with a flurry of action when trying to achieve a goal and confuse this action with being totally committed to a goal. What often happens is that ADD adults tend to lose focus after the initial burst of activity towards their goal. A primary reason for this loss of focus is that a person never really thought about why they desired to achieve the goal. Commitment is measured by activity, but it is fueled by desire.

In order to be fully committed to your goal you need to convince yourself that this is something that YOU truly want to do. Often your goals are set by what other people want and desire, even if you want to please these people it is unlikely that you will maintain long term commitment to achieve this goal. The million dollar question is, what will motivate you to make and maintain positive financial changes in your life? For example some common motivating ideas include; the security of having your own home, the desire to not be indebted to anyone, and the ability to work less and spend more time with friends and family. It does not matter what you want to achieve as long as your desire is strong. When you combine desire with action you are truly committed to achieving your financial goals.

Financial Planning without other life planning is like being on a rudder-less ship. If your financial boat is sinking it is important to make short term financial decisions to keep your ship afloat. Keeping you financial ship afloat basically means being able to pay all of your bills today. Keeping your financial ship afloat is something that everyone should strive for, however if this is all that you are able to do, then you are struggling with your finances.

Without having long term goals you will lose the motivation to save money, and to pay down your debt. You will also be more likely to make impulsive spending decisions. Long term planning does not have to complex or complete, it is something that you can change at any time. Basically you need to start be answering a few questions:

What do you want to do with your career? Perhaps you are completely satisfied with your career or maybe you have the desire to move up in your current field, you might want to switch fields or even open up your own business. This will give you the incentive to cut costs if you want to switch fields or save up enough money to go to school or to open your business.

What do you want to give to your family? Perhaps your goal is to spend more time with your family, to able to help out your children with their college education, or to be able to buy a home for your family to grow up.

What do you want to give back to your community? You want to think about this in both time and money.

What other goals will make you happy? Do you want to visit Europe, become a black belt in karate, have your own art show, or restore an antique automobile. It is likely that you will need some money to help you achieve these goals. This will also help you to think about whether to spend extra money on other things that might not make you as happy.

This is obviously not a complete list of long term goals, but these are the major areas that will affect your financial planning, and will give your financial ship the rudder it needs to go in a positive direction.<bio>John MacKenzie is the Operations Coordinator at ADDClasses.com .
Do you feel that you are committed to your business? How can you tell? Commitment is not something that you can directly see. There are two characteristics that show commitment =96 focus and personal sacrifices.

First, you will show a focused or having a single-minded purpose in what you are doing. Everything that you do would be directed toward making your business better. Sometimes this focus can be so strong that it will appear that you have blinders on. Many people will say that you have "tunnel vision". You don't see anything outside of your focus going on around you.

I can tell you from experience that my husband is always saying that I "tune out" and live in my "own little world". I get so focused that I lose sight of what is going on around me. He has learned over the last 29 years that when my office door is shut, that I will only come out when I am done with what I am working on.

Second, you will be willing to make personal sacrifices to reach your goals. This can be as simple as giving up an hour of television a day to work on your business. Others will tell you that if you watch any television that you are not committed. I don't agree with this one. When I am focused, I am focused. But everyone needs to get away from time to time. Don't let your family life become a personal sacrifice.

I can give you one example of focus and personal sacrifice in working with the MasterMind Pros Team. Now our Team is a group of coaches/mentors that helps others learn Affiliate Marketing and other skills involved in running a business. After a training conference ended on one Friday night at 9:00pm, our team started working on refining a new landing page for our website. At 2:00am, we were just finishing up. Not once during this time did anyone say "it's getting late, let's finish tomorrow". We were all focused on getting our task done and didn't quit until it was completed. Did we sacrifice some sleep =96 yes, in fact many of us were up early to support Frank in his AdWords training class on Saturday morning at 7:00am. This is the commitment that our team has to our business and to our customers.

People need to attach a meaning to the sacrifice. If this sacrifice does not provide them with a sense of achievement, they will not be willing to do it.

Commitment follows meaning. A job is only a job until you identify with it and see the meaning in what you are doing and why you are doing it. People do not sacrifice unless what they are doing has meaning. To make that sacrifice, you need to see how what you are doing impacts your business.

Commitment is a willingness to look for a new and better way to do something and then do it. It focuses on eliminating procrastinating and confronting head on what is not working. This spirit of commitment allows a person to take risks they would not have taken before. This risk is looking to the future instead of rehashing the past.

In summary, commitment will be evident in the focus that you apply toward your own goals. The surest measure of commitment is in the personal sacrifices you are willing to make to achieve your goals. James Womack has stated that "Commitment unlocks the doors of imagination, allows vision, and gives us the "right stuff" to turn our dreams into reality." So =96 how committed are you? <bio>Ann Moss is Vice President and a professional coach for Mastermind Pros (http://www.mastermindpros.com).
Do you want short-term temporary results or long-term permanent results? Effective persuasion has lasting impact, but it requires dedicated study and long-term commitment on the part of the persuader.

The qualities listed at the base of the pyramid are the most easily and commonly used, but they achieve only temporary results. Such results are temporary because they do not address a person's genuine wants or desires. Persuasion based on the qualities listed at the top of the pyramid is effective whether pressure is perceived or not. Such a method creates lasting results because it taps into and involves a person's true interests. Determining whether you want short or long-term results dictates which area on the pyramid should be the focus of your efforts.

Imagine the CEO of a large corporation calling one of his vice presidents to a meeting. At the meeting, the vice president is informed that he must raise $20,000 in employee contributions for a foundation the company is going to sponsor. The CEO is not concerned with the means the vice president uses as long as they result in a check for $20,000. Raising such a sum requires getting $100 from each employee--a daunting endeavor! The vice president considers the various ways he could accomplish this task. It would be both easy and quick to approach the employees using control. He could use physical force or threats to obtain the money. This do-it-or-else mentality would get immediate results. The long-term impact, however, would likely involve rebellion, revenge, and resentment. What about coercion? Surely the employees would provide the requested donation if they were told doing otherwise would negatively affect their next job evaluation. Would this tactic get immediate results? Sure. Again, however, the long-term effects would be resentment, rebellion, and revenge.

The vice president decides control and/or coercion do not provide the best outcomes. Next he considers compliance. If he offered incentives, benefits, or rewards, it would be a win-win situation, right? Suppose each employee who donates $100 gets an extra two weeks of paid vacation. The problem is, once the incentive is gone, compliance will also disappear. He might get the $100 this time, but what about the next time he asks for a donation? This method is still only a temporary fix because the employees will be conditioned to always expect a reward for their compliance.

The vice president next considers cooperation. He could spend time with the employees explaining why this charity is so important and how it would be a great honor for them to participate. He could convince, encourage, or "sell" with logic, emotion, and information to donate to this worthy cause. Now, armed with the tools of effective persuasion, he's onto an approach that will have lasting, positive results. As long as the employees feel he is telling the truth and acting in their best interest, they will be open to his proposal.

Finally, the vice president considers the top form of persuasion: commitment. If he has a great reputation and relationship with his employees, there will be mutual respect, honor, and trust. These conditions will enable the employees to comfortably make out their $100 checks. They know the vice president is a man of honor who would never ask them to do anything that would not be in their best interest.
So, you want to save for retirement, but you're having enough trouble paying your bills every month?

Now what?

How can you possibly find enough money to save for the future when the present is difficult enough?

If this sounds familiar, then here are a few suggestions to help making saving money easier. Not necessarily easy -- when money is tight, saving is probably not going to be easy. But at least it can be a little bit easier.

For this to work, you first have to be willing to make a few changes. Actually, it all comes down to one big change -- and that is making a commitment. Without this commitment, and a plan to go along with it, then most likely nothing will ever change.

So, go ahead and make a commitment to yourself that you'll do WHATEVER it takes to change your financial situation. And this change won't come overnight, so give yourself a time frame to make it happen. Write down your commitment. And put it in a safe place.

And get ready to make it happen! Here are some suggestions for saving money -- even when money is tight:

First, take a few minutes to read your commitment each day. The more you believe in what you are doing, the more you will be willing to take action, and achieve what you want!

Second, think of ways to make some extra money:

- get a part-time job - start your own business - sell items around the house that you don't need any more

Third, take out your checkbook and write down a list of all your expenses for the last month or two. Write down everything. Then decide which expenses you can eliminate (and remember, you make a commitment to change your financial situation, and won't necessarily be easy). And decide which ones can be reduced:

- cable TV - cell phone - internet service - newspapers - magazines - entertainment - luxuries - anything else you can live without!

Be creative. Be honest. And be committed!

Because when money is tight, and you still want to save for your future, you either need to find a way to make some more money. Or find a way to lower your monthly expenses. <bio>Kris Bickell is the owner of http://www.Debt-Tips.com, a helpful site for consumers needing financial help.
You may have heard it said before that an attitude change is easy. All you have to do is change everything about yourself. As crazy as it seems, it's the truth. A change in your attitude will eventually involve everything about you. It's easy and yet, the fact that you have to keep at it day after day after day is what makes it really hard. An attitude change requires a long term perseverance that few people have. That's what makes it the biggest change you will ever make.

Attitude changes typically take place when something monumental happens in a person's life that suddenly makes them see everything differently. This may be a near-death experience or some kind of tragedy that they weren't expecting. People begin to see that life is extremely fragile and they begin to think that maybe the real meaning of life is contained in something other than the things they used to value so much. They begin to change their values to and to approach life from a new perspective about what is truly important. It doesn't have to be a tragedy or a near-death experience, however, which brings this about. An attitude change can take place simply because you decide that you want to make yourself into a better person and you are determined to make that happen.

One of the most common reasons for bringing about an attitude change, besides a tragedy or near-death experience is the simple fact that a person becomes fed up with the life they have been living. They no longer see themselves as a worthwhile individual and they want to feel good about themselves again. Maybe it was just a little thing that went wrong in their life but it was somehow the straw that broke the camel's back and now they are ready to really change their life. How do they get serious about this plan and make themselves actually stick to the new changes that they have in mind for themselves? What do they need to do to actually make this attitude change a reality?

One of the best ways to really make your attitude change stick is to join a group and make a commitment to go to that group several times a week in order to remind yourself about the changes you are trying to make. Other people can do wonders for your attitude and make you stick to the promises you have made for yourself simply because you feel more support from other people when you join a group. It really doesn't matter who the people are in the group and whether you like them or not. This is not how an attitude change works. The change takes place because you make a commitment to make friends with some new people who are trying to do the same thing as you are trying to do; i.e. improve you life! You go to the group, not because the people are so great or you love them so much. You go to the group because you are trying to make yourself a better person and you know that you can't really do it on your own. This is called humility and it is a primary ingredient in bringing about an attitude change in anyone.

You have to be able to admit that you can't do everything on your own. People don't become educated doctors or lawyers on their own. They go to school and classes to achieve this. Similarly, you can't change your attitude and become a new person on your own. You need other people! If you are serious about making an attitude change in yourself, you will make a commitment to join a group and start working toward your goal with others who are also interested in the same thing. There are thousands of groups out there and you can find one that fits the interests you have to make a change. Attitude change is easy but it takes concerted effort over a long period of time. What better way to devote yourself to this long term goal than to try out a new group and make a commitment to help out each week. You will surely be on the road to success once you have made that decision! <bio>Gary Miller was the World's Leading expert on Negative Thinking until he lost approximately $3 Million Dollars because of a lifetime of negative thinking.
I suppose if we became really rich we could purchase new homes by simply flashing our credit cards or signing a cheque. But then, as the old saying goes, if wishes were horses, beggars would ride. Most of us are ill equipped to deal with the mounting prices of the world of real estate. Every time we look to invest in real estate or a new home a new house, we have to avail of mortgage loans of some kind. So, as soon as we see that dream house of ours, we have to begin your search a loan provider to give us a mortgage loan that we will be able to afford. After that, we have to do mortgage comparisons, talking to lenders, brokers, and people who have already taken mortgages.

However, if you thought this was it, you really have to reframe your thinking. This certainly is not "it". A mortgage is certainly not a short term commitment. Just as a house is an an asset for the future, a mortgage loan is a long term liability. You will now have to spend many years just trying to repay that loan you took. And it is going to hurt when you see a large chunk of your income is disappearing into the house account. But then, it is a commitment, and a liability. Make sure you realize the implications before you even go house hunting.

Then again, if you are thinking that this will be the end of your everyday expenditure, you really have another think coming. You are soon going to have to take care of other major everyday expenditure that may include education for your children, medical expenses, home renovations, and so on. And it may be likely that you will once again have to check out a loan to finance these needs. But the benefit is that since you already have a house, you can certainly draw on the equity on it. So the next time that a major expense rears its ugly head, instead of worrying yourself silly as to what you will do, you should start looking at some home equity loans. So, you will simply be drawing on the value of your house that you have already paid for, and you will not have to check out other kinds of personal loans at all.

Then again, if it seems like your current mortgage is not likely to reach its end soon, you could look through some home mortgage refinance offers. By availing of these offers, you could either diminish your mortgage loan's term of duration, or you could decrease your monthly interest payment. Anybody who has had it with his ongoing mortgage repayments will consider these to be music to his ears. <bio>The author recommends mortgage loans at http://www.rebuild.org/mortgages.html home equity loans at http://www.rebuild.org/home-equity-loan.html and home mortgage refinance at http://www.rebuild.org/refinance.html </bio>

Have you ever wondered what it would take to be able to become a millionaire? There are many people just like you, but what is different between the current internet millionaires and yourself? Knowledge? Being smart? Having money to begin with? There are so many stories out there; it's really hard to separate fact from fiction. So what does it really take to become the next internet millionaire?

Let's start with the basics and develop a list of what that next internet millionaire must have.

1. Desire
2. Knowledge
3. Commitment

Desire -- have you ever wanted something so badly, you would do just about anything to get it? That's what it takes here. You have to want it badly.

Knowledge -- did our internet millionaire magically have the knowledge on what it would take to be successful on the internet? Or did he or she learn it? If the skills can be learned, what does it take to learn the skills? Where do find the people to teach you? It's all about finding the right coach or mentor to help you get started.

Many people trying to become successful on the internet think that they can just buy the ebook knowledge and put it to work and it will must magically happen. Reality Check #1 !!! If it was that easy, do you think these guru's would just give you all the answers? No!! They give you just enough to keep you seeking a little bit more, just enough so that you will buy the next ebook form them.

Commitment -- are you committed to making your dream a reality? What does that commitment mean? Are you just going to "part time" this or are you really going to commitment yourself to this goal and strive day in and day out to achieve it. Reality Check #3 !!! Do you quit when it gets tough? Just so you know this is just like any other business out there. It gets tough at times. So enough about commitment. What do you need to do to succeed? That is really the question.

Tip #1 -- find the best coaching and mentoring program that you can find. Make sure that they have your interest at heart, not just their pocketbook.

Tip #2 -- some of the best coaching and mentoring programs out there will not break your wallet. It you are expecting something for free -- think again -- it's not going to help you that much. You need people with experience and a proven track record of success. You want mentors that are dedicated to their trade and practice it well. A note here -- the best mentoring programs have more than one mentor.

Tip #3 -- commit to a specific amount of time that you will spend building your new career. It's not going to happen overnight, so make sure you keep it realistic.

Now's the time. Have you made the decision? Are you going to become the next internet millionaire?
You and your girlfriends have been talking about another girl's engagement to Mr. Right over a cup of coffee. Everybody thinks that they are really meant for each other and you are all happy for them, but there's this nagging thought at the back of your mind, "Why doesn't it happen to me?"

You have probably noticed by now that most of the men you dated cannot come near the commitment that you are willing to make in your relationship. Even if you have been exclusively dating for a long time, he is just not keen on discussing the word commitment. It makes you wonder if they are built with the fear of settling down.

Admittedly, there is a grain of truth in the your observation. Most men seem to be as keen in committing as a cat is in taking a bath. Going for casual relationship, dating as many women as possible and having an uncomplicated social life does not help in encouraging the men to finally settle down.

The good thing is that the not all men are like that. You must have had a guy friend who loved the dating scene so much and marriage never crossed his mind. But when he saw a woman who was fun to be with and interesting things suddenly changed and the last time you heard they were about to walk the aisle.

For short, men's thinking about marriage and commitment can be changed if you know how.

Basically, the most important skill that you need to learn is how to keep open communication. By saying this, it does not mean that it would only be your voice that will be heard and your feelings that will be shared. These are conversations that are reserved for your girlfriends on your next coffee date. Open communication means that the lines are open for you and for him as well. Learning to listen to his thoughts and emotions will greatly help your relationship as it will allow you both to talk about anything and everything under the sun. Make him feel that you value his thoughts by listening.

Believe me, knowing how to communicate with him will make him realize that you are a lot more interesting than all the other women who just tells him how her day was. By proving that you are a good communicator, he will then excitedly wait for your next conversations because he knows that you will intellectually stimulate him with your interesting thoughts every time you talk.

As a bonus, the more he opens up to you, the more you will understand him. You can use this information to your advantage. The more you that know about his interests, the more you will know how to keep him interested in your for a long time. You may find it surprising to know how differently men think from women.

To cut the long story short, even if men prefer to be single, you can easily make him change his mind if you know how. To pave the way to make him commit, keep communication lines open and two-way. By doing this, you can be sure that you will be walking the road towards commitment in no time.<bio>Aaron Adams specialises in relationship matters for women.
So you say you just want to date to have fun with no strings attached? Well, that's okay if you want to do this as long as the person you're dating is on the same page as you are! They'll be no problem if you both already understand that you can have open dating in your relationship. If you have not communicated your decision to have carefree open dating with the person you're dating, then this may be a problem for you. What is the best way to tell someone that you don't want to be committed to them when dating? You may want to consider letting them know by the following:

Let the person you're dating know right from the beginning that you want no commitment to them and would like to date other people. Tell the person you're dating that this is a two way street and they can also date other people as well. It's best to set the record straight right from the beginning so there is no misunderstanding. If the person you're dating wants a commitment and does not want an open relationship then you'll both know this from the very start and you can both go your separate ways.

You may want to consider going on dates with different people on different days of the week as part of your non commitment plan. You may even consider dating on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis different people. Yeah that's right, this may even add a little or lot of spike to your dating life!

Not being committed to dating someone gives you the opportunity to date and meet many different people. For instance, if you were at a restaurant and met someone you may want to consider dating, you could ask them out right then and there. Remember you don't commit to dating one particular person, so you're open and free to do this.

So, as you can see there are different ways to be non committed to dating. It has it's advantages and of course disadvantages, maybe. Of course, this all depends on you and what it is you're seeking to do when you date someone. It's really up to you! You can have the opportunity to meet lots of people and have more choices of who you may ultimately want to be with. You may find that in the long run that you'll eventually meet your soul mate during your dating span.

Of course a disadvantage to being non committed when you're dating is that the person you may be considering to date, may not be interested in an open relationship where there is no commitment. That means you loose out on dating the person you may be interested in dating.

So, only you can decide on what type of dating you'd like to pursue. Just make sure you're comfortable with the choice you have made and that it is the right choice for you! <bio> Nocita is a writer and web designer that creates websites providing informative tips on various subject matter including personal finance tips on your personal finances at http://www.personal-finance-tips-for-you.com ; dating tips at http://www.mydating-tips.com and your choice of ebooks at http://www.ebook-corner-for-you.com </bio>

A freelance writer accepts work offered by a magazine or newspaper with no long-term commitment or promise of ongoing assignments.

It is possible that someone you have written for on a freelance basis will return to you with an additional assignment, but you have no guarantee.

The typical scenario for a freelance writer is to receive payment by the word, although some publishers will offer a specified fee for a word range. For instance they may offer $100 for a thousand words (within 50 words either side of 1000).

Most freelance writers do not rely exclusively on freelance writing for their income. Many freelance writers have part or full time jobs and will offer their skills with the written word as time allows.

Publishers enjoy the benefits of freelance writers simply because they do not have to pay a full time salary, nor do they have to provide benefits. They also have a choice of who they want to work with and on the specific jobs they determine the freelance writer is best suited for.

Much of the success of freelance work begins with speculative work. In essence, the beginning stages of freelance work means you write articles that may never be in print. By following submission guidelines carefully you have the best chance of having an editor take a look at your material and possibly consider your services as a good fit for their publication.

Many established freelancers will have clients return to them for additional work. Many freelancers find seasons when they simply fulfill writing requests with no additional push in finding new work.

Editors and publishers are looking for people that are capable of handling work in a timely fashion and with the skill and style that is a compliment to their publication. When they find a good freelancer they are likely to return to that individual regularly for additional assignments.

If you have considered working as a freelance writer begin your journey with research and speculative writing and then remain persistent. <bio>Scott Lindsay is a web developer and entrepreneur.
