When it comes to treating arthritis, some herbs can be especially good. Stinging nettles are one particularly, surprisingly good treatment for the condition.

Arthritis is a condition which many people suffer from and sometimes they do not even know that they have it. If you are experiencing pain and stiffness in any of your joints then it is essential that you see a doctor as soon as possible. There are a number of different types of arthritis and so it is important to know exactly which type you actually have.

Treating Arthritis

There are a number of treatments used to relieve patients suffering from arthritis. However, one treatment that is not widely advertised is the arthritis herb. It can be used only to treat the symptoms of Rheumatoid arthritis. So even though it is classed as an arthritis herb, it will not be of much use to any other type of arthritis.

Surprisingly a stinging nettle is one of the best natural treatments for Rheumatoid arthritis. Now the best way to hold the nettle is to grasp it firmly and rub the nettle leaves across the area of pain. You will experience a lot of extra pain at first as the nettle stings the skin. However, once you have finished you will notice that the only pain which you are feeling, is from the nettle stings and not the arthritis. As you use the nettles more frequently, you will become accustomed to the sting and it will not hurt as much anymore. Just remember that when you do use nettles, you have to resist the temptation to scratch the itch as it will just make things worse.

Another way in which you can use nettles to treat Rheumatoid arthritis, is to drink nettle tea. By drinking one cup of nettle tea each day, you can gain all kinds of health benefits. It helps to purify the blood as well as providing relief for Rheumatoid arthritis. If you do not like the taste of pure nettle tea then it is possible to add ingredients such as honey and crown sugar. Now with the tea you will not notice results overnight. It will take a few weeks for them to really show through, but when they do you will notice the difference.

Overall stinging nettles may be a surprising treatment for arthritis, but they do work. The University of Plymouth did a study in the year 2000 and that clearly showed that 63% of those questioned, found stinging nettles helpful in the treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis. <bio>Andrew Caxton is an online entrepreneur and writes for http://www.lawn-mowers-and-garden-tractors.com .
Playing bingo is for little old ladies with nothing better to do -- this was the common perception of bingo for years. But things have changed. Recently playing bingo, especially online bingo, has become a whole new trend.

According to statistics, more than 1.6 million people in America play bingo in bingo halls. This figure is more than the amount of people who go to the movies or to bowling alleys!

It is well known that the rich and famous such as Robbie Williams, Bill Clinton, Elle MacPherson, Damon Hill and Jade Jagger love playing bingo. Also, more and more people visit websites to play online bingo -- the new trend.

In the past, playing bingo was not as easy as one might think. Players had to sit in a stuffy, often smoke-filled bingo hall for hours, checking their cards for their numbers whilst trying to hear which number the caller called. Players had to leave their houses and could only play at specific nights when the hall was open.

This has all changed. Today players can play when, and for as long as they want in the comfort of their own homes. By playing bingo online players can meet other bingo lovers from various countries and backgrounds. Most online versions have a chat room in addition to the game itself. Players can mark off their cards or have the game mark off their cards automatically, which enables them to chat with the other participants without having to concentrate on their cards. Many sites offer chat games as an opportunity for players to win extra money.

Another role player in the increasing number of people playing bingo online is the relaxation factor. Many players have realized that playing bingo online is a great way to relax after a hard day at work.

Playing online bingo is not only for older people, many younger people have discovered the endless entertainment of playing bingo online. Statistics show that the average age of players is 41. And even more surprisingly is that over 80 percent of those players are between the ages of 25 and 55. These statistics also show that a surprisingly low percentage of people over the age of 65 are playing online. This low percentage might be due to the fact that participants of 65 are not very internet savvy.

But unlike most other trends, experts say that playing bingo online is a trend that is not going to fade away. Online bingo is here to stay! <bio>Emma Madison has been an online bingo fanatic for over 7 years. Though she has played other forms of online gambling, Emma has always stated that bingo is her true passion.
Not much stands out as such a recognizable status symbol as the Louis Vuitton handbag. Celebrities and every day citizens alike, await the newest Louis Vuitton masterpiece and when it appears =96 they are off to the store to spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars on this luxury creation. But as with anything else that has achieved success, those looking to grab a piece of the action are never far behind. Not surprisingly, unscrupulous companies hoping to make money off the Louis Vuitton name have manufactured a variety of Louis Vuitton replica handbags that are sold far and wide.

The Louis Vuitton company began in France as a luggage manufacturer in 1854. Louis Vuitton himself made the company a success by offering unrivaled quality in all of his products. The company quickly became popular among those who enjoyed luxury items and the need for luggage pieces for travel was such that the company established a name for itself in the marketplace.

Louis Vuitton died in 1892 at which time his son Georges took the helm of the company's operations. It was at this time that the famous Louis Vuitton handbag finally made its appearance. The popularity of the handbag was such that Georges Vuitton worried about the possibility of counterfeiters. So, in an effort to hinder Louis Vuitton replica handbags, the brand's now famous pattern/logo was established =96 a beige on chestnut colored "LV" logo. The pattern =96 known as the Monogram Canvas design - was used in all of Louis Vuitton's handbags and would soon become synonymous with the brand itself.

But surprisingly, the Louis Vuitton brand has turned out to be the world's most copied design =96 more counterfeited than any other brand in history. In fact, the Louis Vuitton replica handbags are more often than not, the bags that are actually being sold when people think they're buying an authentic Louis Vuitton. Statistics show that only 1% of the Louis Vuitton handbags being sold today are authentic.

In some cases, consumers know they are buying Louis Vuitton replica handbags but are willing to do so because of the affordable price. Additionally, most of the replica bags are made in such a way that they are unrecognizable from the actual brand.

If you wish, however, to know that you are buying an authentic Louis Vuitton handbag then make sure to purchase only from an authorized dealer =96 including the official stores found around the world as well as through the online shops. Authentic Louis Vuitton handbags will have two things that Louis Vuitton replica handbags will not: a monogram inside the handbag and a certificate of authenticity that comes with a verification number.

Most likely, as the popularity of the Louis Vuitton handbag continues to grow, so will the popularity of the Louis Vuitton replica handbags. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about Louis Vuitton replica handbags visit our ezGuide 2 http://handbags.ezguide2.com </bio>

With the price of gas going through the roof, drivers are on the lookout for any way to make gas mileage improvements to their vehicles, and there seems to be an ever increasing number of so called gas mileage secrets popping up. Everything from cars that run on water with the help of hydrogen car kits, to the many tips and tricks used by the hypermiler.

Surprisingly enough there is a way to help you make gas mileage improvements even before you get to the gas pumps, and that is at the tire store. This is because many drivers have not heard about "tire efficiency" and this is due to very little information being available on the standardized ratings of tires. Many drivers could actually be adding to poor fuel economy by choosing the wrong type of tire.

There are moves in progress to get tire manufacturers to begin labelling tires for fuel efficiency. Regulations call for a programme that would create a national labelling system, this system would be similar to the energy star ratings of household appliances. In this way you will be able to choose the tire that would give you the best gas mileage improvements for your particular make and model of vehicle.

The modern tires available today are in fact far more efficient than they were 30 years ago. Rolling resistance (the power that is lost due to flexing) has been reduced by as much as 50%. And with the advances of tread patterns and the use of lighter rubber compounds they are now even more economical.

Even so efficiency can vary by up to half from tire to tire, which can reduce a vehicles fuel economy by up to 10%. Sadly this tire labelling system is yet to be put into action, so many of us are still driving on tires that instead of giving us gas mileage improvements, are actually costing us more in poor fuel economy.

However there are still ways to make sure that you are getting the best from your tires.

1) Always keep your tires inflated to the correct pressures as a poorly inflated tire can reduce fuel economy by 3.5%

2) When replacing your tires try to buy the same brand and model that came as original equipment on your car. (Car manufacturers are careful to fit the most efficient tires to their vehicles).

3) Don't replace your tires until they need to be replaced as new tires are less fuel efficient than worn ones. (but don't drive on bald tires as this is not only illegal it is dangerous) So check tire treads regularly.

4) If your tires show signs of uneven wear, such as a feathered appearance where one side is worn more than the other then you may have alignment or balance problems, either of which will reduce fuel economy.

So you see there are a few little gas mileage secrets that you can use to increase your fuel economy without going to the extremes of the hypermiler, just by using the right tires and keeping them in good running order you can achieve surprisingly good gas mileage improvements.<bio>Discover for yourself how to make real gas mileage improvements and cut your gasoline consumption in half with simple Step-By-Step guides to show you how.
Perhaps the most famous prop weapon in the history of movies is the lightsaber, used by both the brave Jedi Knights and the evil Sith Lords, in George Lucas's Star Wars film series. This iconic movie weapon is one of the most coveted movie memorabilia, and not surprisingly, the originals props used in the movies are almost never for sale. Despite this, given the appeal of the lightsaber, it's not surprising that a wide range of replica versions are available to collectors.

The origin of the lightsaber is variously attributed to classic science fiction stories that describe force-field weapons, and to certain episodes of sci-fi TV shows, but Lucas is on record as stating that he simply wanted a weapon that allowed for swordfights like those in period adventure films, such as The Adventures of Robin Hood, and since simple metal swords would seem out of place, and the film already contained laser guns, the obvious solution was for "laser swords".

The original props seen in A New Hope were scratch built from old camera-flash battery packs and miscellaneous hardware. Perhaps not surprisingly, the exact battery packs used are now invariably difficult to find, due to collectors wishing to "remake" the original props. Later films used custom machined designs, although in some cases components from earlier models were re-used, such as part of Obi-Wan's lightsaber being used as the basis for Luke's lightsaber seen in the final film.

The lightsaber effect seen in the movies is entirely done in post-production, even on the original films, with the film frames individually painted over to produce the pulsing glow. This was not the original intention however, as the initial plan was to use spinning blades coated with alternating patches of reflective material, and mount a directional light beside the camera, so that the blades would physically reflect back the light. In practice the end result wasn't particularly effective, so the post-production option was taken instead.

Inevitably there have been numerous plastic toy versions released down the years, and a whole other article could probably be written about collecting those. The best known current versions are the "Force FX" lightsabers, which despite being only plastic present a surprisingly convincing appearance, as long as you discount the optional plastic light-up blade.

For more accurate replicas of the lightsaber range, the recent Master Replica models represent the very best versions available. Master Replicas was founded to work with movie studios in offering "exact" reproductions of their famous props to serious collectors, at serious prices! The very best models offered were the Signature Editions of all the lightsaber models seen in the films, and cost around $500 each. These metal and plastic versions precisely match all the materials and detailing seen in the films and represent the very best versions that a collector can own.

For a lower price tag, Master Replicas offered scaled down versions of their lightsaber range, maintaining all the details of the full scale versions at a more reasonable price. These editions are ideal for collectors who want to display a range of the lightsabers used in the Star Wars films, and there is even a range of custom-designed display cases on offer for this purpose.

Sadly for collectors, most of the Master Replica range of items is now sold out, at least from Master Replicas themselves. If you hunt around the net or on auction sites you might be able to find some of these items for sale, although most likely at prices far higher than they originally went for. Given the popularity of Star Wars in general, and the lightsaber in particular, it seems unlikely that these will be the last versions of these iconic movie weapons to be released.<bio>For more articles about sci-fi and fantasy film props visit our website.</bio>

The soccer shoes, known also as soccer boots are a very important part of the uniform and the game. As player's costumes have changed so much since the early days of the game, soccer boots have been through surprisingly few design changes in the last seventy years.

The evolution of boot development has been a conflict between protection from the climate and injury; against the freedom of limb movement to perform better. The improvement of the player's fitness has had a positive spin on soccer shoe development but these changes surprisingly appear to be more stylistic than anything else.

As soccer has become more glamorous the look has become more important than the desire to play better or decrease injury rates. It appears from the published literature there have been more injuries caused by soccer shoe innovations than appear to be resolved by new designs.

In the early years, soccer shoes were generally black and with higher cuts than the ones used today. The design evolutions of the shoes have become part of the game and as much an important item as the shorts or socks and almost as popular as the jerseys.

Players use special and customized soccer shoes made especially for them. The more significant changes to the shoes were that in the modern days the cut is lower, the color has changed. The shoes have become more comfortable and pretty much lighter than the old ones.

The old shoes were made out of leather with wooden cleats and leather soles. The newer soccer shoes are made out of leather or synthetic material, plastic or rubber soles and the cleats can be plastic, rubber, aluminum and even rubber or plastic and with the end made out of aluminum.

Some of the soccer shoes have changed the place of the laces and put them on the side of the shoes and some don't even have laces anymore. It is said that the change in the laces was so you could kick with more accuracy.

Players and soccer shoe manufacturers also use the shoes for marketing purposes, with special edition shoes, different color shoes, even autographed shoes. There are infinite different colors for soccer shoes. From plain black to golden with special details, or with, two, three even four colors combined.

Comfort is a very important issue for the soccer shoes. A pair of uncomfortable soccer shoes can cause serious blistering. Usually new soccer shoes need to be broken in so that they adapt to the format of the foot to prevent the blisters.

However, with new technologies, comfort is constantly improving and eventually one will be able to put a new pair of soccer shoes on, play a game and not have any blisters.

Even though the design of the soccer shoes hasn't changed much in the last seventy years, the design is quite different from the first soccer shoes. Technology has changed the feel of the shoes and the weight of these that were once very heavy.

For good playing, soccer depends a lot on the quality of the soccer shoes worn. Professional and amateur players love to be different by using an uncommon color and designed soccer shoes. <bio>Get all the latest in Soccer know how from the one and only true source at http://www.SoccerDetails.com.
The custom of giving death human characteristics is nothing new; it may date as far back as the ancient Greek's harvest god Cronus, who was portrayed with a sickle and whose name led him to be confused for Chronos, who was the Greek god of time. Cronus' sickle was eventually transformed into a scythe, and his harvest changed from agricultural to a harvest of the souls of the dead.

From this confusion of Cronus and Chronos, Western civilization has built its conception of how death would look if it had a form. And that form has become the subject of interpretations for millions of Grim Reaper tattoos through the years.

The Grim Reaper first took serious hold of the European imagination in the 1400s, garbed in a black hooded robe which mimicked those which priests wore at the bedsides of the dying.

Instead of being there to bless the dying, however, he brought along a scythe, and was often merely a skeleton beneath his robes, with only his eyes visible under their cowl. Plenty of material for the imagination to feed upon, and Grim Reaper tattoos have become a mainstay of tattoo artists the world over.

While almost all Grim Reaper tattoos incorporate the basics of a skeletal black robed figure with a scythe, those basics can be interpreted in almost any style. There are tribal Grim Reaper tattoos; traditional Grim Reaper tattoos; and even Celtic tattoo designs featuring the Grim Reaper flowing out of their intricate plaitwork.

Grim Reaper tattoos first gained a foothold in the Americas in 18th century Mexico and Argentina, where poor criminals adopted them as totems to ward off capture by the police.

Mexican Grim Reaper tattoos, surprisingly, depict the Reaper as a female; but even more surprisingly, in both the Mexican and Argentinean cultures, the Grim Reaper is regarded as a saint, "La Santisima Muerte" in Mexico and "San La Muerte" in Argentina.

Grim Reaper tattoos, along with skulls and scantily clad mermaids, were once reserved for bikers, prison inmates, and sailors or marines.

But with the arrival of the Goth subculture, the skull and Grim Reaper tattoos have found a new and younger set of admirers, and are prominent among both male and female Goths who appreciate their mythological and morbid aspects.

Grim Reaper tattoos are most often done in black with shades of gray. But as more people are attracted to their messages about the fleetingness of life and the possibility of an afterlife, Grim Reaper tattoos often appear in more vibrant positive colors.

Some Grim Reaper tattoos even take on an air of Hallowe'en, with the Reaper having an eerily pumpkinlike appearance.

A Grim Reaper tattoo can be as forbidding or inviting as you and your tattoo artist choose to make it, but like all tattoos, its most important feature should be what it says about you! <bio>Author: Matt Garrett - =A9 2007 http://www.TopTattooDesign.Com Don't Be The One In Four Who Hate Their New Tattoo!
Exotic pets are vastly misunderstood in the press, and are often portrayed as unruly, difficult to keep and very much a specialist pet. In actual fact exotic pets make exciting and unusual pets and shouldn't be dismissed as quickly as they often are. They come in all shapes and sizes, from the humble corn snake to the highly aggressive desert hairy scorpion to the stunning dendrobates.

They also can be surprisingly affectionate, as is the case with the bearded dragon, which is well known for the bond it forms with its owner. They can be very intelligent like the monitors and tegu's, who are renowned in the trade for their intelligence. Some unfortunately do deserve the press such as the green iguana and the Burmese python, both of which are often bought as cute hatchlings where they then develop into monsters and end up in rescue centers.

Ideal exotic pets for the beginner include the leopard gecko, this is a brilliant lizard which is very easy to keep, full of character and still one of my firm favorites. They are commonly kept in vivariums where their needs can be met surprisingly easily. The set up costs associated with all of the equipment you'll need (the vivarium itself, a heat mat, thermostat, decor, etc) are quite high but once purchased leopard geckos make inexpensive pets, they can be kept for approx 2-3 ($4-6) a week.

Another ideal beginner exotic pet is the African praying mantis, these make impressive pets due to their aggression towards pray, but they are also very handleable and get to a reasonable size. As youngsters they can be kept in plastic cups with mesh on the top, as adults they still only require a small home, something one foot cube is ideal.

If snakes are your interest then a corn snake is an ideal first step into the world of exotic pets. You've probably seen them in the pet shops sold as hatchlings, those small bright orange snakes with saddles on the back. These are ideal first time exotics (and what got me into them in the first place) due to their size (adults usually reach 4-5ft, some individuals may get bigger but they rarely go over 6ft), handle-ability and good appetite.

They are also generally quite forgiving of the mistakes that people new to the hobby make. Part of the popularity of corn snakes probably stems from the fact that although the wild types are orange, in captivity they come in a vast array of colors and patterns. Welcome to the world of color morphs. Nowadays if you have the cash you can almost hand pick the color of your snake, from perfect white to a deep rusty brown to purple.

Due to their rarity (and most corn snake color morphs having to be homozygous before they are visible) they fetch a high price, you could end up spending a few thousand dollars on a price specimen. Most of the snakes value however would be in the offspring it can produce so expensive color morphs are generally sold between fellow breeders.

Hopefully this might make you take another look at exotic pets, there's a little more to them than meets the eye.<bio>Find more information on Exotic Pets such as Leopard Gecko and how to handle them.</bio>

It's Just a Feeling - Brainstorming and Selection of Essential Oils

In part one of this series we discussed the importance of getting to know the individual essential oils, both in practical terms... properties and safety for example and by nuance... the fragrance and individual "stamp" that an oil will leave in our subconscious emotional memory.

This is of tremendous help when brainstorming possibilities for a new essential oil blend.

In my experience, working within the synergy of an essential oil blend is a feel more than anything... a feel for the essential oils that you are using as well as for the finished effect that you are looking for.

It always amazes me how even the slightest adjustment can make a huge difference in the outcome.

The very first thing I always do is visualize how I want it to come out... I imagine the finished blend in a bath oil or lotion, and decide on what effect I'm looking for.

Uplifting? Deep and sensual? Fruity and fun?

The possibilities are endless, if there are any drawbacks to blending essential oils, it's not that we are limited, it's that there are so many choices!

Surprisingly enough, I find the bathtub the best place to do this (I love this job!) Or my other favourite is going for a walk in the peace and quiet and fresh air, contemplating scents, often pulling ideas from the scent and temperament of the air around me.

Ever tried a full moon blend? I haven't but it is next on my list... let me see now, my mind is already turning over ideas. What oils are bright and phosphorescent but full and mellow at the same time? That's the way to get inspired, take your cues from nature and the essence that is already around you.

As I type, it's on the tip of my brain. A light floral and maybe a mint, something fresh and tingly. With a wee hint of seduction, maybe an amber or touch of oak moss.

You may flounder for awhile with it, but suddenly it will come to you, just the scent that you are looking for. If you get stuck, now is the time to go and sample your assortment of oils to see if anything jumps out at you. Sometimes you will be amazed at how the blend will almost pull itself together.

Next step... a piece of paper and a pen! Write down all of your thoughts and ideas, you may use them all or just some.

Make a list of the essential oils you'd like to try, anything that pops into your mind. Many times I seem to do this by colour, often grouping dark essential oils together, or clear essential oils etc. But it doesn't always have to be that way either.

Then add a rough outline as to how many parts of each oil you think would go nicely. Don't write it in ink, because it will likely change!

Many times I seem inclined to choose my oils as much by colour as by scent, often grouping dark essential oils together, or clear essential oils etc. But it doesn't always have to be that way and often I will compliment the blend with a touch of a completely different essential oil.

A popular but simple example is the addition of vanilla to orange. It mellows the sharper citrus creating a scent that is much like creamsicle. On the other hand, the addition of a mint to an orange essential oil (there are many varieties available) will give a surprisingly beautiful fruity and fresh aroma, perfect for many things, especially potpourri in the kitchen and soap.

Got your ideas together? It's time to go to get to work! <bio>Learn more about making your own natural skin care and essential oil blends by subscribing to SKN News - http://www/skincarenaturals.com/isnare.html Receive a PDF printable monthly and a free bonus download of Aromapedia.
The common misconception many an aspiring entrepreneur shares with others in the same boat is the notion that in order to earn money at home you must be involved in multi level marketing (MLM) and pound the pavement in order to sell goods or services and also to bring in new recruits whose sales income will yield a small percentage for the original marketer. Instead, the savvy online marketer knows that it is just as easy =96 if not easier =96 to earn money at home with a vibrant affiliate business that does not require any pavement pounding or messy recruitment efforts.

Surprisingly, many an already established website owner has caught on to the fact that affiliate marketing is a source of steady revenue streams, yet rather than focusing on these programs, the site owner does precious little but simply play at this line of business and thus the income is predictably low. Consider how little difference there is between selling the washer and dryer via your website as part of your MLM company effort and the service contract from a well known national service provider whose ads you came across and whose affiliate program you signed up for!

As you seek to earn money at home with a vibrant affiliate business, the notion of spending a good deal of time in front of the computer either optimizing your website or tweaking it to such an extent as to be of special appeal to your target audience, should not sound outlandish. Naturally, you will want to pick your affiliate merchants carefully and with an eye to the potential revenue, market saturation, and of course your ability to work within the niche the target audience will most likely inhabit. The steps to making money are surprisingly simple:

? Build a website that is solid all the way round. User friendly, informative, quick to navigate, not slow to load, and fine-tuned to the needs and interests of the target audience, it must also be search engine friendly to get top billing.

? Consider paying for a sponsor listing with a major search engine to get the target audience to notice you and so that your affiliate business will not be found on pages eight, nine or later.

? If you are not sure just how to make a site work, just visit the sites of those who are listed on the tops of the search engines and find out what makes their sites better and more in demand than yours. While you do not just want to copy and paste and just replicate their ideas, you might want to use them as a springboard for your own venture!

? If all else fails, consider hiring a professional web designer who can craft your initial site. Once you feel comfortable with the site and recognize what works, and what does not, and then apply this knowledge on your next website which you might build yourself. Remember that in order to earn money at home with an affiliate business, you need to be willing to learn from others and also spend a little money at the onset to set yourself up for success. <bio>Tracey Merrells-Fort, of http://MoneyMarketingSuccess.com is a successful entrepreneur helping others to succeed online.
The DVLA held their latest auction of personalized number plates on Wednesday 24th October through until Friday the s6th of October at the Down Hall Hotel , Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire and continued to enjoy success in attracting bids from the public and dealers in the room , on-line , by telephone and by post. The DVLA are only allowed to auction registration numbers which have not been previously issued to a vehicle, they cannot auction numbers belonging to members of the public or registrations which no longer have the original vehicle in existence.

Biggest success was the sale of WE57 HAM ( West Ham ) which brought =A345,000 at the drop of the hammer being fueled by a bidding war amongst enthusiastic West Ham supporters , the winner was anonymous, having done his bidding over the internet. This beats the previous record for a football related plate as AR53 NAL fetched =A336,000 in 2004. There was also a unique piece of memorabilia in the form of a framed "plate of greats" signed by 44 Hammers footballers including Sir Geoff Hurst MBA and Martin Peters MBE .This was auctioned for =A31100 with the proceeds going to the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK. Next highest sale was for the registration number 1 DAM at =A325000 which did not seem excessive for such popular initials with the exclusivity of number one , then 78 G at =A316000. The number 1 registrations continued in popularity with 1 WEE bringing =A315,000,1 TAA brought the same amount and 1 RRJ brought =A314,000.

Some notable bargains were B111 DUF ( Bill Duff ) at =A3350 ,BER 3T at =A3450, LON 3R at =A3600 and DOU 99Y at =A3800 .Surprisingly high bids were made for CRA 19S ( =A38,600 ) , SCR 44P (=A38,600 ) and ALL 3X ( =A39,000 ) .Some surprisingly unsold numbers were PAM 911S with a reserve of =A3500 ( maybe a Porsche 911S is not really a girl's car? ) and RUM 5S with a reserve of only =A3400. Some of the more attractive novelty registration numbers were COO 1L at =A37,500 , GOA 1S at 7,100 , CLU 8S at =A38,700 and MU55 ELS at =A35000.

All prices are bids achieved on top of these figures the buyer would have paid an auctioneers commission , v.a.t. at 17.5% and an =A380 D.O.T. transfer fee , this adds approximately 25% on top of the bid amount.

Total income for the auction was in excess of =A34 million plus vat of course and also an =A380 transfer fee for each number is due ,bringing the total catch for the treasury to nearer =A36 million.

There is another auction planned for December 4th , 5th and 6th at Tankersley manor, Barnsley , South Yorkshire . This is probably going to be the last one for 2007 although there have been occasional special sales around Christmas in the past , but these have been for a small number of very exclusive numbers expected to bring huge bids.

Free catalogues can be downloaded in PDF format from the DVLA sale of marks website , you can then pick which way you wish to bid and register for bidding at this sale.
If you're looking for an all year round holiday destination, head to the beautiful island of Madeira.

The island, which is 35 miles long and 13 miles wide, offers its visitors so much to see and do. It boasts many lovely coastlines, villages, parks and gardens, stunning scenery and a wealth of tourist attractions and activities suitable for all ages and tastes.

It's also ideal for a self-catering holiday, as there is a good selection of holiday properties to rent for the duration of your vacation.

Funchal is the capital of the island and has a great interactive museum, The Madeira Story Centre, where you can find out all about the history of Madeira. It's well worth a visit and is a great place to begin your holiday.

While you're in Funchal, be sure to take a cable car ride. In fact, there are two rides you can enjoy and they provide a great opportunity to admire the island's breathtaking views. One travels from the old part of Funchal to Monte. The other goes from the Botanical Garden to Monte.

The Botanical Garden itself is a big tourist attraction. It boasts an interesting collection of plants and is well worth a visit. It is just one of many beautiful parks and gardens in Madeira which you might want to check out during your stay on the island.

Not surprisingly, Madeira is a great place to go walking. Why not hike alongside the levadas? The levadas, or water channels, provide an important irrigation system around the island. But take great care if you go levada walking, as some of the paths can be very narrow and there are some steep drops, too!

If you're looking for a sporty holiday, Madeira offers some good activities and facilities. Whether you're looking to do a spot of surfing, sailing, scuba diving, swimming, water-skiing or swimming, you will be able to do it all here! Or if you prefer a land-based sport, you can enjoy a game of golf, go horse riding or play tennis or squash.

If you want to do something completely different, why not take a toboggan ride from Monte! Not surprisingly, this mode of transport is a popular tourist attraction. You sit in a wicker sledge with wooden runners and slide down the streets all the way to Funchal. It's great fun and you can just sit back and enjoy the ride, as a couple of men in traditional dress will push and guide you along the way!

Another exciting way of seeing the sights of Madeira is by taking a panoramic hot-air balloon ride in Funchal. The balloon offers some amazing views of the area.

If you've got kids in your party, be sure to visit Madeira Theme Park. It's located in Santana and makes a great day out for all the family!
With the introduction of big box stores, franchises, and global online stores, it is becoming increasingly difficult for merchants to make personal connections with customers. This is a big deal because, without this personal connection, it is next to impossible to create a long lasting, trust filled relationship between seller and purchaser. Surprisingly, some retail outlets, merchants, and corporations have accepted this loss of relationship as a necessary progression in our increasingly digital world. This conclusion is both we erroneous and dangerous.

Without the development of relationships between product and consumer, especially in regard to products like ordinary household items, companies become susceptible to price reduction in an effort to remain competitive. Competition based on price is a no win situation for everyone involved and are usually applied as a last resort.

Much like most changes that occur in life, the most effective way to thrive in an increasingly digital world is to embrace the new situation. Smart marketers are not blaming new media and new technologies for the loss of personal connection; they are not waiting for this wave of change to run its course; they are instead utilizing these new concepts to further the connection between product and customer. As an example, companies may utilize technology to initiate extensive training programs in areas such as customer service, product knowledge and sales in an effort to help their employees deal with customers from a relation based point of view as well as a transaction based one. This may or may not be an effective and viable option depending on employee turnover and retention, employee capabilities, etc.

Another example of technology helping to initiate and retain a certain relationship would be equipping locations with digital signs at the point of purchase. This is becoming a very popular method across many industries. The best example of this would be a coffee shop or fast food joint with a drive-through window.

A customer will pull up into a drive through at any given location of a fast food chain. She is hungry and plans to purchase a sandwich and soda to tide her over until dinner. As she is waiting in line to shout her order into the crackling speaker box, she is provided with a distraction in the form of a digital display. As she watches a short "commercial" that includes the company's founder describing their current family meal deal, she realizes that she does not necessarily have to cook tonight and, forgoing the sandwich she instead decides to purchase the family meal deal. A personal connection has just been made and an up-sell has taken place.

Digital signs are just one of the less obvious but incredibly effective mediums that smart retailers, food service companies, and other corporations are utilizing to recreate that personal connection of yesteryear. So, although it is becoming increasingly difficult to retain that warm fuzzy feeling that is evoked from a consumer's favourite brand name product, innovative companies are finding surprisingly uncomplicated ways to do just that.<bio>For more information about a digital sign or digital dislplay, contact a digital media expert at www.ek3.com</bio>

A recent in the US is offering hope for testing for lung cancer. US scientists have now developed and already tested a prototype breath test to detect lung cancer. This may enable doctors to detect lung cancer at earlier stages.

The results of the US study test was published in the international journal of respiratory medicine Thorax.

In the tests, the colour testing device, which is the size of a coin and is surprisingly inexpensive, had a 75 per cent success rate in detecting people with different cancers.

However, the tests were not 100 per cent accurate. The device showed false positives on people who did not have lung cancer. This reduces the device's effectiveness removing doctor's ability to start immediate treatments.

The technique called a "colorimetric sensor array" picks up the chemical fingerprint of the breath of people with lung cancer that are caused by the tumours.

Cancers produce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are different from normal cells. Tumours in the lungs are more likely to contain increased signs of these abnormal compounds. This increases the potential for the device to pick up a lung cancer "fingerprint" in the breath.

Surprisingly, dogs are able to detect VOCs and differentiate between people with lung cancer and healthy people. With 'early response' a major factor in survival rates, there are many who wonder why dogs are not trained to detect VOCs in the same manner that dogs are trained to detect drugs and other compounds.

The prototype of this device was developed by Dr Peter Mazzone of the The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio in collaboration with the private company ChemSensing of Champaign, Illinois. The private company customizes Metalloporphyrins, a chemically reactive dye family that are sensitive to VOCs.

They are working to develop an inexpensive device. The only equipment available to the public are mass spectrometers or gas chromatographs. These are expensive and require the services of an expert to analyse the results.

The new device resembles a 2 cm square key fob with a 6 by 6 pattern of coloured dots visible through the plastic casing. Changes in the pattern of the dots indicate the presence of VOCs in the breath based on the gas makeup of the breath.

Scientists tested 143 patients. Patients needed to breathe into the device for 12 minutes. The test group was divided into three groups. Some patients had lung cancer at various stages, some had other forms of respiratory illnesses like emphysema. The rest were healthy.

The device spotted 73 per cent of the lung cancer patients and cleared 72 per cent of the non-lung cancer patients. This is not 100 per cent, but the results are acceptable.

The US National Cancer Institute reports that lung cancer is the second most common cancer and the most common cause of cancer-related deaths in the US, with more than 200,000 new cases diagnosed, and 160,000 plus deaths due to the disease each year.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the global annual death rate from lung cancer at 1.3 million. <bio>Ethan Miller advises on improving your heath and reducing pain from his web site at http://www.lowcarbrescue.com He invites you to get his FREE health guide http://www.heartpatrol.com </bio>

A good Merlot warms the heart, the ambiance and the cheeks. Merlot is extremely popular amongst red wines. It is an easy wine to drink and marries well with hearty dishes, especially so in winter. A wine that originated in France, like so many, now Merlot is produced with great success in other parts of the world as well, such as the United States, Chile and Australia. My personal goal is finding great Merlots from a variety of countries, at a great price.

The United States

Merlots from the Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley in the wine region of California tend to be especially good choices amongst American Merlots. Merlot is a warm-weather grape, and a specialty of these regions. A recent discovery I made amongst Sonoma Valley Merlots is Angeline 2002 for under $15. Two sure bets in Napa Valley Merlots are Sterling Vintner's Collection, which range in price from $15 to $30 and Edgewood, which is usually under $20.

Chile

Chile also produces some wonderful Merlots. My personal great price for a great bottle from this country is Casillero del Diablo, which is usually found easily for under $10. This wine comes with a great story. In order to dissuade workers from partaking of the wines produced by his vineyard, one owner dubbed his cellar "Casillero del Diablo" or Cellar of the Devil. Amazingly, it kept the workers from going there and helping themselves.

France

My French Merlot favorites tend to come from Pays d'Oc, even though, the "pays" or country wines tend to have a reputation as being inferior to those from the A.O.C. or regulated wine regions. Pays d'Oc wines come from the Languedoc-Roussillon area in the south of France. This area specializes in varietal wines, or wines produced from only one specific grape, of which there has been an increasing demand. One surprisingly good Merlot from this area, considering it comes in a completely recyclable, environmentally friendly box, is called French Rabbit and retails for about $10. Its packaging is either a love-it or hate-it type of thing. I haven't decided where I stand on it yet, but I definitely like what is inside it.

Australia

Australia's Little Penguin Merlot is another of those under $10 choices that is surprisingly good. The entire Little Penguin line has gotten good ratings for such a new line of products. It certainly will not hold up favorably in comparison to the Sterling Vintner's Collection or Edgewood from Napa Valley, however as an everyday Merlot to enjoy, this one is pretty good.

The key to enjoying different types of Merlot is doing some research, asking questions, reading ratings, doing a little taste testing before buying and being open to new experiences. Even if you have always enjoyed a wine from a certain region and tend to always buy wines from there, an occasional foray into another part of the same country or even into another country altogether will liven up your Merlot drinking. So go for it next time you are looking for a new wine and see how many continents you can enjoy. <bio>http://www.thewinestandard.com Fine wine gifts like these cool http://www.thewinestandard.com wine accessories can be found at The Wine Standard.
Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture continue to gain popularity among the American public for the treatment of diseases where mainstream medical therapies have had little success. Traditional Chinese medical treatments are based on the mystical belief that a cosmic energy called chi, flows through the human body and when its' flow is blocked the result is pain and illness.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (primarily herbs) and acupuncture restore the body's normal energy flow (chi) which results in illness being cured by allowing the body to heal itself. Acupuncture attempts to restore chi by inserting needles into specific points on the skin or on the outside of the ear. Although, traditional thought of as very safe, with few or no side effects a few medical authorities have recently challenged the long held belief that both methods are free of risk.

Surprisingly, there are a number of risks associated with acupuncture. Improper needle manipulation and handling can cause convulsions, localized infections, fainting, punctured lung and hematoma, which is localized bleeding that can shift along an organ's length. In addition, if the acupuncture needles are not properly sterilized, Hepatitis B can develop. A few other risks include nerve damage and skin diseases. However, like any medical treatment if performed by a trained physician / practitioner, many studies have shown that acupuncture is virtually risk free.

The standards of acupuncture and Chinese medicine have not been fully approved by the FDA but then again the FDA has shown a bias against natural methods of healing and so this fact shouldn't come as a surprise. Of course, acupuncture needles should not being used multiple times. Unfortunately, the attitude of many andquot;traditionalandquot; doctors is that the certification process in becoming a certified acupuncturist is seen as a sham and that the whole field is more interested in making money by cashing in on the desperation of individuals who have not benefited from conventional accepted medical treatments.

As a result, the National Council Against Health Fraud has declared acupuncture an unproven method of treatment whose approach to healing are backward and unproven with the perceived positive benefits being nothing more than the result of the placebo effect and the patient's own expectations.

On the other hand, Chinese herbal medicine, unlike acupuncture herbal Chinese medicine has surprisingly found favor among some researchers. Studies have revealed that herbal medicines rarely evoke any adverse reactions. In fact, they are clearly much safer than the vast majority of most pharmaceutical drugs. Modern and traditional herbal formulas are now available commercially for those of most any physical condition and age.

Chinese herbal medicines are currently being used to treat a wide range of health issues from pain, psychological disorders, immunity, digestive and gynecological problems to allergic conditions, childhood illnesses, respiratory diseases and addictive disorders like smoking and alcoholism.

An extremely successful aspect of Chinese herbal medicine is that pregnant women can use most with virtually zero risk.

Tip - For options in finding the best lender for you, check out the links below. <bio>Visit http://www.acupuncture-gateway.com or http://www.acupuncture-gateway.com/links.html or http://www.acupuncture-gateway.com/sitemap1.html for more information on acupuncture and Chinese medicine. </bio>

If you are in the carpet cleaning business you know that it is important to separate yourself from the competition. One way to do that is to be professional. Read this article and learn some things you can do to present yourself and your company as professional.

The number one thing you can do to appear professional is to wear a nice uniform. This is something that a lot of carpet cleaners do not do. Do not simply show up at a house wearing an old t-shirt and jeans. Instead why not get some polo's embroidered with your company name and a nice pair of khakis. Your customers will look at you in a whole new light. If you are the type of person that sweats a lot be sure to also wear a clean undershirt and bring an extra polo to change into half way through the day. Image is everything in this business.

Another way to set yourself apart from the competition is to have a professional invoice. Do not simply buy the generic invoices available at most office stores. You will find that it is surprisingly affordable to have some invoices custom printed with your company information. It might even be cheaper than the generic invoices if you buy in bulk.

The last thing I will discuss is manners. You should always treat your customer and their home with respect. Always say maam and sir even if you are older than your customer. If you need to park in the driveway or enter a room they do not expect you to be in ask first. Also be aware of how you look while in the home. Act as if you are being filmed all of the time, who know you might be.

These are three easy things that any company can do if they take their company seriously. Put these tips into effect and I assure you that you and your customers will feel better about your company. <bio>Visit http://www.thecarpetcleanerlist.com/lasvegas.htm for more information on carpet cleaning in your town. </bio>

Painting your home is a good home improvement project for anyone who is handy. If you have decided to take on your own home painting project, read this article for some tips. It might make the difference between a good job and a great job.

The first thing you should do is gather all of the supplies that you need. Do not skimp. Instead buy all of the necessary supplies and a few extras. You can always return unopened merchandise. You will need paint brushes in various sizes, rollers, tarps, painters tape and a variety of other items. Ask for help at the paint department for advice on what else to buy.

After you have bought the supplies you will need to buy the paint. Before you go to the store you need to calculate your wall space. Take the width times the height and add up all of the walls. Do not forget the ceilings if you are painting them. Take the total and look at the spread rate on the paint to determine how much you need. Buy a little extra to account for waste and so that you have paint to do touchups with.

Lastly before you actually start painting you need to do extensive prep work. Move furniture out of the way if possible and put tarps over non movable furniture and floors.
