For men who want to father a child, the issue of sperm count is not an abstract or scientific one. It is an issue that affects his dreams of the future and hopes of raising a child that is his own.

Many people really do not understand what sperm count is. A man's sperm count can tell you how fertile a man is or how likely he is to be able to produce offspring. Sperm count simply means the number of sperm in a unit volume of semen. While the normal range falls between 20 million and 150 million sperm per milliliter, lower sperm counts can cause fertility problems.

If a couple is having trouble conceiving, a physician will probably recommend that the potential father have his sperm count measured. This will let the couple know whether his count is in a normal range. It is important to keep in mind that having a low sperm count does not mean a man cannot father a child. It just makes it a bit more difficult.

One thing that men have in their favor is the fact that time is not as much of an issue as it is for women. While women become less fertile as they age then eventually undergo menopause, men remain fertile well into their later years. Although some studies show that sperm counts decline around thirty percent, this is definitely not enough to deem these males as infertile.

To easily obtain conception, it is not just important that a man have a high sperm count. Sperm motility also factors into the equation. Sperm motility is so important at the time of fertilization because it assists the passage of the sperm. Non-motile or especially motile sperm usually does not lead to fertilized eggs.

If you are anxiously trying to conceive a child, there are things you can do before enlisting the aid of a specialist. Did you know that there are certain days in each month when couples are most likely to conceive a child? By having intercourse on those fertile days, you increase your chances of having a baby.

Timing the woman's menstrual period is integral in determining when she is most fertile. About fourteen days after a women starts her period, an egg is released. This egg lives for about one to two days. This does not mean those are the only days you can get pregnant, however. In fact, in ideal conditions, sperm can live for five days. Still, having intercourse during this period, referred to as "ovulation" will boost your chances of conceiving.

Inexpensive ovulation tests can be purchased. They work in the same way as a pregnancy test. The woman can test her urine to see if she is, in fact, ovulating. If so, she will know it is a good time to have intercourse. Although this method is not foolproof, it certainly helps your chances of conceiving, especially if your sperm count is not as high as it could be or your sperm have motility problems.

If conception is eluding you then it is important to realize that a visit to your doctor is in order. He or she can best advise you on ways to maximize your chances of having a child for your particular situation. <bio>Ian Jefferson has an interest in Male Infertility.
Infertility is not specific to women; it can also plague men as well. If a husband is the one who needs a diagnosis and treatment, the process can be embarrassing and frustrating. The good news is that there are plenty of options in treatment for male infertility today, both in terms of the procedures available and the facilities that provide them.

If a couple is searching for treatment for male infertility, a fertility clinic might be the answer. These offices usually provide state of the art facilities and treatments that can address a whole host of issues. A clinic like this can offer new hope to a couple who has become frustrated and discouraged working with medical professionals who do not necessarily specialize in this field of study. The hope comes in the form of a well trained, professional and compassionate staff and a broader range of services and possibilities than might be found in a standard clinic setting.

Semen analysis is often the first step in diagnosing and treating male infertility, and an Emerald Coast fertility clinic can provide some of the most detailed analysis possible. In the past, many men were diagnosed with infertility simply because they had a low sperm count, but now medical professionals understand that a low sperm count does not automatically signal a problem. Today, sperm is assessed based on a protein that is only present in fertile sperm, motility of sperm and sperm efficiency in the process of fertilization. With a more specific, detailed semen analysis, doctors are better able to pinpoint the cause of the infertility and treat the problem more effectively.

A CK test is another way to analyze sperm in terms of the maturity and deterioration that might affect fertility. It is a good idea to find an fertility clinic that provides this type of testing, so that a couple can rest assured every angle of male fertility is being covered in the workup. This test also provides hope for men who have previously been diagnosed with unknown male infertility, since it can give a better assessment of the actual fertility of the sperm. Scientists have found that ample sperm counts may not be as fertile as previously thought if the sperm has matured too far.

Another aspect of male infertility that a fertility clinic may be able to address is known as intracytoplasmic sperm injection or ICSI. This process has helped couples who have been diagnosed with severe male infertility that has not been effectively treated through other options. ICSI involves injecting a single sperm into the center of a single egg, allowing couples to achieve fertility successfully. This process is one of the newer fertility treatments available today, so it may not be offered at all clinics. However, if a couple has been diagnosed with severe male fertility, ICSI may be the best choice in treatment.

Male infertility can be difficult to diagnose and even more difficult to treat. However, technology today has made it possible for more couples to overcome these problems than ever before. Couples that are facing this diagnosis can check out their choices in an fertility clinic for a thorough workup and effective treatment options.<bio>Visit the Emerald Coast Fertility Clinic on procedures and questions for FL Infertility Treatment in Pensacola and Tallahassee.</bio>

Many couples have children as soon as they look at each other in a certain way, or so it seems. Lots of couples do have problems conceiving children. There are several possible reasons for this and several possible solutions to the problem.

Gone are the days of Britain's Henry VIII who chopped off his wives' heads if they failed to produce a child within a year. Nowadays people realize that this is a difficulty that is a shared one. If specialists find that one of the partners' reproductive system is not working as it should then that person will need substantial support from their partner.

Most men do not have the Henry VII approach. Most will be willing to have tests done to determine a sperm count and to check on the activity of the sperm. This is usually the first step in determining the reason for lack of conception of a child because production of the sperm sample is very simple and certainly does not require invasive surgery.

Sperm counts can sometimes be increased by hormone supplements. Be aware that increasing testosterone levels will also cause increased aggressiveness in social situations. I knew a guy once in this situation and all his workmates breathed a sigh of relief when he announced his wife was pregnant.

Investigating the female reproductive system is much more complicated. That's why there are gynaecologists for women and no equivalent for men. I am not going to go into the many vagaries of the menstrual cycle here. Following the advice of a gynaecologist will help many women to become pregnant.

There are other alternatives even after the specialist's advice hasn't worked. Test-tube babies are very common. I used to teach a teenager who was the UK's first test-tube baby, she was just like every other girl in the class.

Eggs are removed from the woman's ovaries and fertilized with her partner's sperm, usually in flat petri dishes, rather than test-tubes. One of the fertilized eggs is then placed inside the woman's uterus, where it will hopefully attach itself and develop normally. The rest of the fertilized eggs may be frozen, in case of failure the first time.

If the man's sperm count or activity cannot be raised the couple could have a baby using sperm from a donor. Couples may also find a surrogate mother, either to host the fertilized egg, or to provide the egg to be fertilized by the male partner's sperm.

In short there are many routes out of this common predicament that a loving couple can use to have the children they have set their hearts on. <bio>Pearl Deloria is a manager in a financial company.
There exist medications, treatments and techniques that provide infertile couples the possibility of conceiving a genetic child that possesses the characteristics of both parents. However, there are no exact guarantees that all work in the fashion as earlier predicted during clinical analysis. In fact, majority of couples requires several attempts of medical intervention before they actually create conception.

Male infertility is nearly hundred percent based on sperm problems. It may either be that the male patient develops poor sperm quality, low sperm count, or worse no sperm at all. Unfortunately enough, there is still no technique that may affect the condition of the sperm cells as presented by the patient. Instead, all treatments focus on how to make the most of the sperm cells that are under study.

In male infertility treatment, the female factors should also be taken seriously as these, in fact, largely contribute to the presence of the condition. For untreated male infertility, there is only less than 50% possibility that pregnancy will occur more specifically for cases that present semen quality as the main focus of the problem.

However, it is strange how the nature of semen quality fluctuation is not understood in the medical community. Often, the belief that the treatment is effective or ineffective depending on the variability of the treatment is misleading.

Meanwhile, wide spectrum of male infertility treatments is still, for the present, has no scientific evidence to back up their effectiveness. This spectrum covers herbal treatments to hormonal treatment.

One of the simplest yet considered high-tech procedure in male infertility treatment is the artificial insemination of the sperm cells coupled with ovarian stimulation.

In-vitro fertilization, a method that is fastly becoming the ultimate option for nearly all couples who can afford the extensive treatment seem to offer a solution for infertility. Nonetheless, there are still no accurate parameters to predict the effectiveness of the treatment. In common cases, patients normally undergo 3 cycles before a possible conception is achieved. Aside from financial taxation, this infertility treatment can also exhaust the willingness of the couple to do the procedure for the 5th, 9th or who-can-guess how many more times.

Another option in aid of fertilization for poor sperm quality is the use of sperm donation. This is rarely the case though since men, with the high rate of sperm production is almost impossible of not creating semen. Nonetheless, for patients who are in need of this treatment, the assurance of success is high given the factor that the female is fertile. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.
Reproduction is one of the more important mechanisms, that we humans are equipped of. In the absence of this, some of us may consider the valuable loss of life. This is probably why once a couple does not conceive within a 1-year period of unprotected sexual intercourse, they become anxious that they may be subject to infertility.

In fact, the symptom of not conceiving in 1 year alone is one good basis for diagnosing infertility.

There is not much that the medical community hasn't unraveled yet when it comes to infertility. This article will focus on the causes of infertility for both men and women.

Causes of Female Infertility

Endometriosis- this is a condition characterized by the growth of the endometrial tissue outside the uterus. This tissue is the substance women discharge during menstruation.

Ovulation problem- a condition that arises from abnormality in the release of hormones that drive the release of mature eggs from the ovaries.

Poor egg quality- the weakness or damage in the egg cells usually characterizes poor egg quality. Age is primarily the root cause since as women mature, their eggs mature with them. This condition eventually leads to menopause.

Polycystic ovary syndrome- formation of small cysts in the ovaries may be the result of irregular ovulation or hormonal imbalances.

Female tube blockages- once the passage of the eggs towards the uterus or the sperm towards the ovaries is blocked, conception would be impossible since the meeting of the two cells won't facilitate. Causes of this condition may be pelvic inflammatory disease and several forms of sexually transmitted disease.

Causes of Male Infertility

Male tube blockages- this may occur either at the epididymis or the vas deferens, both of which are sperm passages. However, varicoceles located at the testicles account for the leading cause of this condition.

Sperm problems- this could be anything from the absence of sperm cells to low sperm count along with poor sperm quality and sperm deformation.

Sperm allergy- this may the product of the immune system's reaction towards any phenomenon that attracts brain signals sending the reaction of the system. Men usually experience this after having vasectomy.

Combination of Female and Male Factors

This occurs when both couples present conditions that may be identified as causes of infertility.

Unexplained Infertility

This probably is the catch-all of causes when physicians don't find any results after conducting intensive study of the case. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.
A fertility treatment is used when a man and a woman are unable to conceive a child naturally. The fertility treatment is designed to increase their chance of pregnancy. There are many different fertility treatments. A specialist will conduct testing on both individuals to determine the possible reasons behind the infertility, and then the treatment options that are available are discussed. Fertility treatments aren't always effective and they are often very expensive. Most insurance plans don't cover fertility treatment.

Ovulation Induction involves the female taking fertility drugs to increase her chances of getting pregnant. These drugs often come with some health risks and side effects but they can help regulate the menstrual cycle and increase the likeliness of pregnancy.

Artificial insemination is the process of injecting sperm from the male into the female. This is often combined with fertility drugs and methods of helping the male produce more sperm that are stronger. Assisted Reproductive Technology, known as ART, are more complicated fertility treatments. This involves removing the ova from the female, fertilizing it with sperm from the male, and placing it back in her body before it is known if conception has taken place.

Invitro Fertilization is similar but it involves removing the ova from the female, fertilizing it with sperm from the male, and making sure conception takes place. Then the embryos are placed into the uterus of the female. One side effect of this method is the possibility of multiple embryos being formed at the same time, leading to as many as seven babies being born at one time.

The process of fertility treatments can be very simple for some couples such as increasing the sperm count of the male. Other couples struggle for years with fertility issues because of the let down of not finding an effective treatment and the side effects. In addition to the financial cost, fertility treatments affect couples physically and emotionally. <bio>Learn more about fertility treatments at http://www.fertility-treatment.org/ </bio>

Who said infertility is conventionally a woman thing? Isn't it that male infertility produces great impact to conception? Now who is at the risk of infertility? Who is to be blamed?

Infertility is not a sole problem that is faced by women. As most cultures practice, infertility is typically blamed on the part of the women. They are obviously wrong. There is nobody to be blamed for the matter. The inability to bear a child can be caused by several factors that are affecting both the couple. There is also the renowned male factor which means that the problem lies on the part of the male.

The concept of male infertility is no longer a new term these days. Medical findings have long started to point on the male reproductive system as a primary cause of infertility. But then because of men's too much pride, they find it hard to bring about acceptance for men infertility. There are no recognized symptoms or signs of men infertility. They can only be detected by the routinely health checkups. As couples, you need to be aware of your fertility status. Women are not always the ones at fault when it comes to the incapacity to bear a child. Men infertility should be accepted with an open mind.

In the available studies and reports that medical teams have further gathered, they see that men infertility comprises at lest 1/3 of its overall total. In contrast with the female reproductive system, the male reproductive system is less complicated. Men infertility is usually associated with the problem in sperm count and other known sperm disorders. The fertility process commonly takes place during the intercourse when there are millions of sperm cells that get deposited into the vagina during the male ejaculation. Only a few of the semen can successfully get through the protective walls of the egg cell to enable pregnancy. Therefore, the more sperm cells that are able to go through the egg's protective walling, the more chances of allowing a successful fertilization. For a progressive fertilization, the sperm quality, sperm size and shape, sperm motility, and sperm count are great factors to consider.

Logically, any problem with any of these factors is likely to bring about a difficulty in male fertility. The explanation to this is that a great number of sperm count and an optimum quality of sperm cells are sure to give a hundred percent male fertility.

Men infertility is likewise confronted with an array of environmental and health issues which can affect the difficulty in conceiving. The age is a renowned factor. Obviously, as man ages, his capacity to reproduce lessens. Specialists say that from the age of 35, the sperm cell quality starts to diminish. One's lifestyle choices also pose an impact to men infertility. Men infertility is likely to be affected by the intense exposure to heat and by using overly tight underwear, the extreme exposure to pesticides, electromagnetic emissions, radioactivity and other hazardous substances. It is also to be noted that men infertility is greatly brought about by STDs, too much use of drugs, smoking, and the abuse of alcohol.

If you've got concerns or queries regarding men infertility, there are various infertility specialists from whom you can seek help. Furthermore, it pays off to be open-minded when accepting the truth regarding men infertility. <bio>Jeanette Pollock is a freelance author and website owner of http://www.infertilitydomain.com.
Being a parent has been described by many as both the hardest, as well as the most unbelievably awesome job a person can have. It is also a job that requires the necessary amount of patience and financial stability. Unfortunately, there are many people who have children and cannot support them.

Thus, it seems especially cruel when a couple who has both the patience and the financial means is faced with infertility problems. However, while infertility is something that can definitely be thought of as a significant obstacle, it is also something that might be able to be medically treated.

Many people attribute the majority of infertility problems to the woman in the couple. However, this is not always the case. After all, men have problems with their sperm as well. Take a moment to consider the amount of work that a sperm has to do in order to make it to the egg. It has to swim up the fallopian tubes, meet with the egg, and then the egg has to attach itself to the uterus. That's a lot of work in order to conceive!

Most men do not have a problem with their sperm, but there are those who have weak sperm. Simply put, the sperm does not have the energy to make it very far up the fallopian tubes. Or, men might have a low sperm count. Specifically, when they ejaculate, only a very small amount of sperm has a shot at fertilizing the egg.

Infertility in women can occur for a variety of different reasons. They might have a medical condition known as endometriosis. In such a condition, excess tissue has built up in and around the uterus, thus causing hardening. Sometimes endometriosis can be treated with medicine, in which case the chances to conceive become greater.

Another issue that might affect a couple's ability to conceive is stress. Take, for example, the situation that Celine Dion and her husband Rene were facing. They had been trying for quite some time to have a child, and had no success. Then, Celine took time off from her career. The result? Their son, Rene Charles.

A couple is deemed to have trouble with conceiving if, despite having sex frequently, they have not been able to conceive for a least a year. Generally speaking, a couple who is trying to have a baby should be able to conceive within four to six months of trying.

Now, just because a couple has not yet been able to conceive does not mean that there still is not a chance they could do so naturally. To determine their situation, a variety of tests will need to be done on both the man and the woman.

So, what options do a couple who cannot naturally conceive have? First of all, in-vitro fertilization might be able to help. However, this method still is controversial because of the various medical risks that are associated with it. Another option is for the couple to adopt. Many couples decide to do this only as a last resort because they want their own biological child. However, there are many beautiful children in need that will change their perspective.<bio>More information on tubal reversal treatments, infertility and a Charleston infertility clinic of West Virginia in your area is just a click away.</bio>

When seeking to enlist the help of reproductive medicine and treatment in seeking treatment for infertility, couples may begin to feel overwhelmed. Not understanding most of what science and medicine throws at them, couples will begin to feel overwhelmed by their new journey. Speaking with and consulting with a physician before making a lofty decision such as which treatment to choose is a very wise choice for couples to make.

Infertility treatment exists thanks to innovations and advancements in the reproductive sciences field. Researchers in the field have developed new and efficient ways of helping people overcome their infertility problems. When deciding to take advantage of these advancements, couples should be sure to speak with a physician. Consultation with your doctor will tell you many things such as if you are a good candidate for certain treatments, what to expect before, during and after treatment, as well as realistic expectations each couple should have for the infertility treatment they choose or are given. It is important to realize that not every option may fit the couple's needs or be realistic solution to their problems. Some treatments are designed to treat a certain cause of infertility and may not be effective against other causes of the problem. Infertility can be a tricky matter and discussing the topic with a physician will help the couple get their questions answered and all of their concerns addressed. In the end, it may be that undergoing treatment is not the best option for the couple, but it is better to learn this before, rather than after, the treatment.

Some of the options couples have when enlisting in an infertility treatment program include in vitro fertilization, Intracytoplasmic sperm injection, intrauterine insemination and various hormonal treatments. In vitro fertilization is when the physicians mix the sperm and eggs together in a lab, so that the sperm will fertilize the egg. A fertilized egg is then placed in the woman's uterus so that they can develop into a baby. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection involves injecting the male's sperm directly into the female's egg so that fertilization can occur. Intrauterine insemination is when sperm is inserted directly into the uterus so that the sperm may fertilize the woman's eggs. These are just preliminary explanations of these infertility treatment options. More information is, of course, available through your doctor. In fact, always collect as much information as possible when deciding to undergo treatment for infertility problems. This allows the couple to make as educated a decision as possible.

Another option couples have, depending on their specific infertility problem, is surrogacy. This is where another woman carries a baby for the couple. There are two options here. In option one, traditional surrogacy, the surrogate's egg is fertilized with the man's sperm through artificial insemination. In option two, gestational surrogacy, your egg is fertilized by the man's sperm and then transferred into the surrogate's uterus for the remainder of the pregnancy. These being just two more options couples have, there are many more infertility treatment options available for couples to consider. Speaking with a doctor about all your options is the smartest thing to do, as they can give all of the possible options and explain them in great detail.<bio>Visit the Florida Fertility Clinic on procedures and questions for InFertility Treatment Options in Pensacola and Tallahassee.</bio>

For generations women have been taught to use contraceptives as if not using them will immediately and without fail get them pregnant. Contraceptives of course are highly useful if you want to avoid pregnancy, but if you want to become pregnant you may be suprised that it isn't as easy as it seems. If you are concerned about infertility, be sure to read through this guide. There are things you can do to make sure there is a problem before consulting with a doctor.

1. Work With Your Cycle Of Ovulation, Not Against It

Although men are sometimes the source of infertility, most often the problem is related to when the couple is trying for a baby. Because most women have a cycle of twenty eight to thirty days their most fertile time is in the middle at day fourteen of fifteen.

2. When You Should Try For A Baby

Although there is only a hour window for an egg to become fertilised, you should rest at ease knowing that sperm can remain in the uterus for up to three days, meaning you don't need to worry too much about hitting your ovulation target exactly. Armed with this knowledge, you and your partner should aim to try to have a baby on the days that you are most fertile. Ovulation usually occurs sometime between days and .

3. Getting Pregnant Tips

- Both men and women should eat protein rich foods such as meat and fish - Avoid drinking heavily - Exercise three or more times per week for at least 45 minutes - Avoid taking hot showers or baths to protect the sperm

4. Sex Advice For Conceiving A Baby

You should focus on having sex as close as possible to her ovulation. The ideal time is one or two hours before the exact time of ovulation so the sperm is already waiting for the egg to arrive and will have the full 12 hours to attempt to break through the egg wall and fertilise it. Having a high sperm count by having sex every two or three days instead of as often as you can is key. Missionary position is best because gravity will assist the sperm to travel towards the uterus where the egg will be. After sex, the woman can elevate her lower body so that the waist and legs are at a - degree angle for minutes.

5. Brain Damage Prevention For Your New Baby

Horribly deformed babies have been the result of an insufficient inclusion of folic acid in the diet of the mother. <bio>For more great pregnancy related articles and resources check out http://onlypregnancy.info </bio>

Many people have heard the term "biological clock" as it is used to refer to women because women typically have a certain amount of healthy time during their lives for which it is better to try to have a child. If you are trying to have a baby, there are many things that you and your partner can do to improve fertility so that you can make that dream a reality. It is important that you both discuss the need and/or desire to have children first of course. If you talk to any fertility specialist, there are a plethora of ways in which you can improve the odds that you will have a healthy baby. Obviously, you don't want to smoke or be around people who do smoke, seeing as how it is not good for your health. Also, it is equally important to make sure that both you and your partner are getting enough rest and are eating healthy and exercising regularly. There have also been many medical advances should you need to go that route.

Dreaming of starting a new family or perhaps adding a new little bundle of joy to your already existing one but you seem to be having a little trouble getting started? Here may be some very easy ways to help increase your chances of conceiving. Of course, as always, if you are concerned or have been trying for more than a year and are still having trouble you may want to consult your physician to make sure there are not any other issues at play.

Make sure that you and your partner are both eating a well balanced diet and getting the proper amount of vitamins. For women, you should already be taking a prenatal vitamin if you are trying to conceive, and you can find these over the counter without needing a prescription. That should provide adequate amounts of most vitamins and you will want to avoid taking more Vitamin C because it can interfere with sperm mobility. For men however, a deficiency in Vitamin C or Zinc can result in low sperm count, damaged sperm, and poor sperm mobility.

Substitute egg whites for a lubricant. Most lubricants, even petroleum jelly, can kill sperm and make conception much more difficult, it is best to use no lubricant at all but if you do need to, egg whites help sperm to be more mobile.

Certain herbal remedies can also be useful in fertility. Dong Quai, for example, is a Chinese herb that can help to boost estrogen levels and increase the chances of a fertilized egg becoming implanted. Chasteberry can also help to regulate these hormones which can aid fertility. Also keep in mind that certain herbal remedies, although useful for other medical reasons, maybe harmful when trying to conceive. Some to avoid include St. John's Wart, echinacea, and ginkgo biloba. You may also want to avoid caffeine and do not over do it on the milk since both an be counter productive in the pursuit to conceive.<bio>Alcohol AbuseTeens Addictions</bio>

New research suggests that the radiation given out by mobile phones reduces sperm count by up to 30%.

A lot of concerns have been expressed by some male members of the public about the implications of prolonged cell phone exposure to male sperm cells. Considering the possible hazards, several considerations were taken into account.

Researchers of Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University Ohio evoked, that prolonged cell phone use may damage sperm in male users.

Subsequently, the findings were presented at the American Society of Reproductive Medicine conference in New Orleans. The findings were actually based on a study of 361 men attending the clinic for infertility tests. The men were divided into four groups: One group with no cell phone usage; one group that used cell phones less than two hours a day; a group who were exposed for two to four hours a day and a group with more than four hours a day of cell phone usage.

The men who used their cell phones in excess of four hours showed a 30 % drop in sperm motility and viability when compared to the men who did not use cell phones. Thus, the sperm count, quality, and shape were also reduced with each level of increased phone usage.

According to Dr. Ashok Agarwal, "There was a significant decrease in the most important measures of sperm health and that should definitely be reflected in a decrease in fertility which is seen worldwide". Mobiles could have a devastating effect on fertility but it still has to be proven, he stressed.

In addition, he suggested that cell phones might be harming the DNA of the phone users, disrupting their testosterone-producing cells, or shrinking the tubules that create sperm. He noted that the small study did not prove that male fertility was affected by cell phone use, thus he suggested that further investigation is necessary.

On the other hand, scientists who have heard the results requested that factors such as age, weight, smoking, stress and sedentary occupations should be considered.

Alan Pacey, Senior lecturer in Andrology at Sheffield University, U.K said "If you're using your phone for four hours a day, then it is out of your pocket". Thus, the question would be how is it that testicular damage is supposed to occur? If you are holding it up to your head to speak, it makes no sense it is having a direct effect on your testes", he stressed. He added that people who use a phone for four hours a day spend more time sitting, which could mean there is a heat issue. It could be that they are more stressed, or more sedentary. Thus, he pointed out that those factors seem to be better explanations than a phone causing the damage at such a great distance.

Furthermore, Alasdair Philips, director of the consumer pressure group Powerwatch added, "Sperm is very temperature sensitive as shown by many studies, and a short-term rise in temperature could be responsible. He theorized that mobile phones may only heat the groin area when men are doing things like sending text messages while the cell phone is in their lap.

All these new researches were taken into consideration however, the final point is though scientists say that cellular phones can be linked to male infertility, further research has to be conducted to confirm the findings and establish how exactly sperm production is affected by radiation given out by mobile phones. <bio>http://www.linksjuice.com/5/Health/ for websites containing information to help you with your health issues. </bio>

Infertility Treatment for Both Men and Women

It's hard to rear a child, let alone produce one!

This is the status that each infertile couple has to face with every day of their lives not until they pursue infertility treatments. This normally is the classic story. An infertile couple will discover that they are incapable of conception. Then they would have to endure emotional stress because of the condition. They will decide on what to do and will end up at the door of a physician who they think will largely help solve their case. Then the physician will offer infertility treatment options and the story goes on while they seek probable procedures.

Sometimes this story results to success and more often to failure.

They say, infertility is a condition that is totally out of control of the couple. God gives people their wants if they need them. What if a couple wishes for a child and they were not supposed to have one? Will they get it? Well, no one knows actually. The best that the couples can do is to seek medical treatment.

Nearly all infertile couples pursue medical intervention to help them with infertility. Here are some of the methods widely used in the industry.

This infertility treatment has its focus on patients that are capable of ovulation, only their system is a bit impaired. Normally, infertility drugs are used to induce the stimulation of follicles in creating multiple egg cells.

Though known for its effectiveness, ovulation induction still entails risks like the development of ovarian cysts and multiple childbirth. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome is rare but once it develops it will cause symptoms like extreme pain around the pelvic area, chest and abdomen, weight gain and several others.

An inexpensive form of infertility treatment is facilitated by means of infertility medications. The typical constituents of this option are the administration of Clomid and Femara, both are known for their efficiency in stimulating ovulation and setting the balance in hormones.

For male patients, there are not as much options as there are in women. For the present, there still exists no technology that will alter the nature of the sperm inside the male's body. The nature we are pertaining to here is the natural state (including the abnormalities) of sperm samples retrieved from the patients. Sperm problems like inability of producing or lack of sperm cells, impaired motility and low sperm count are among the most common. Unfortunately, all that medical science can do is to make the most out of them. <bio>For more information on infertility, what causes it andamp; where to get advice, please visit http://infertility.articlekeep.com.
If you're trying to get pregnant and you've done everything you possibly can without medical intervention to try to get pregnant, then it's time to consult the medical profession for help. Following are some common fertility treatments, side effects and their typical success rates.

Assisted Reproduction Fertility Treatments

"Assisted reproduction" is a term used in the medical community to describe medical interventions used for infertile couples. Among the most common fertility treatments are:

Intrauterine insemination or IUI. Also known as artificial insemination, this is also often used along with giving a woman hormone treatments that will boost egg production. It can also help couples with low sperm count, infertility that has no known cause, or if there are cervical mucus problems. In this case, semen is collected and then delivered by catheter inserted through the woman's vagina and cervix directly into her uterus.

In vitro fertilization or IVF. In vitro fertilization has been one of the most stunning developments in reproductive assistance in the last 30 years. Today, it is the most common of all fertility treatments used. It is often used with women who have structural abnormalities such as blocked fallopian tubes, when a man's sperm count is low and/or the cause of infertility remains undiagnosed; however, IVF has made women pregnant successfully even when there is no known cause of infertility.

With IVF, a woman takes drugs to stimulate egg production, and these eggs are then surgically removed. They are combined with sperm, usually in a petri dish, fertilized, and then implanted in the woman's uterus. Babies conceived in this fashion are also often called "test tube babies."

Sperm donation. In cases where a couple's infertility stems from a man's sterility or low sperm count or when no man is present and a woman wants to conceive a child, for example, sperm donation is an option for parenthood. Oftentimes, donors are anonymous, but the donor can also be a friend or acquaintance.

Using donated eggs. Donated eggs are often used when a woman wants to conceive a child but her own eggs are not viable or there has been some disruption of ovulation.

Surrogacy, either traditional or gestational. With traditional surrogacy, a woman called a "surrogate" carries a child to term; that child has been conceived with her own egg and the father-to-be's sperm via artificial insemination. With gestational surrogacy, the surrogate carries a child to term that has been conceived with the mother to be's egg and the father to be's sperm via in vitro fertilization, wherein the fertilized egg is implanted in the surrogate's womb.

Available Fertility Treatments

If you and your partner are trying to get pregnant, you should discuss all options available and decide the best method for you. Of course, you should do this with your doctor's help. Many fertility treatments are quite expensive and only partially or not covered by insurance, so your own budgetary constraints will also have to come into consideration. In addition, your own religious or moral beliefs will have an effect on the fertility method you choose. Only you can make the final decision, so speak openly with your doctor and make the best choice for you, together. <bio>Allen James is dedicated to helping couples experience the miracle of childbirth.
Is it really a cliché that a man likes to feel in control of things? Maybe stating such a fact could be considered stereotyping, but the truth of the matter is that many men feel empowered when they are in control.

For couples having trouble conceiving, most of the focus shifts to the woman. She must not be able to get pregnant, right? Something must be wrong with her body. Her body isn't doing what it is supposed to do, right? So, what happens when that theory is wrong?

Many times, infertility is due to the male in the relationship. Maybe he has an exceptionally low sperm count? Maybe he has sperm that are not very motile? Maybe he is sterile? Whatever the reason, couples need to realize that the problem does not always rest on the shoulders of the female in a relationship.

If a male finds that he has a low sperm count that is affecting his partner's chances of becoming pregnant, there are things he can do to help boost his chances of helping her to conceive. Low sperm count does not mean fertilization is impossible.

The first thing that a man needs to remember is that he should not feel like any less of a man because he is not quite as fertile as some men are. It has nothing to do with his masculinity and should not be looked down upon as a weakness. In fact, more males than you think have problems with fertility. The number is very close to the number of women experiencing fertility challenges.

Exercise is a great way to contribute to better sperm count and increase a male's fertility. Incorporating a moderate amount of exercise into a male's routine has been shown to help improve male fertility. It is important that you speak with your physician. Inquire about how much exercise and which types of exercise would most benefit you. You want to ensure that you are focusing on the right type of exercises to promote both better fertility and a generally healthier you.

In the case of exercise to boost fertility, too much of a good thing actually does exist. Although moderate exercise can be a great thing, overextending yourself through strenuous workout routines can actually have the opposite effect. Studies have proven that extreme exercise can actually deplete the male sperm count. What may seem healthy on the surface could actually lower your chances of bringing a child into the world.

When it comes to exercise and fertility, males need to realize that moderation is best. While a little bit can go a long way, too much really can decrease your chances of conceiving a child. Incorporate exercise into your daily routine, but do so sensibly. If you are not sure what is a healthy routine, talk with your doctor. He can best advise you on an exercise plan catered toward your lifestyle and medical history. Take a proactive role in improving your chances of conception. It's always worthwhile exploring every natural option before talking to your doctor about alternate avenues that can be expensive or emotionally draining. <bio>Ian Jefferson has an interest in Male Infertility.
Coffee contains an ingredient called caffeine, which makes the drink stimulating. A shepherd first discovered the coffee bean's stimulating effect by observing how his goats became energetic and began hopping around when they ate the leaves and fruits of the coffee tree. He tried the fruits himself and discovered that he felt happier, more alert and with more vivacity than before. A monk of the region, which is present day Ethiopia, began to use an infusion of fruits to keep him awake during his prayers.

News of the effect of drinking coffee soon spread. By the 16th century, coffee was being used in the east, with the beans being toasted in Persia. Many people felt that the coffee was bad, and that the effects of the drink were against the laws of the Prophet Mohamed. The drink soon got around these obstacles and even Arabian doctors were prescribing the drink to help with digestion, cheer for the spirit and to stay awake.

In Arabia, a new infusion of the coffee received the name of "Kahwah" or "Cahue", which means "force". This new infusion became the classification "Arabian Coffee".

In 1675, the coffee was taken to Turkey and Italy, but because the coffee came from Arabia, it was forbidden to the Christians. It was only allowed after Pope Clement VIII tried it. Coffee soon reached Holland, and through the Dutch Maritime Commerce, soon spread itself to the New World, Guyana, Martinique, Santo Domingo, Puerto Rico and Cuba.

Commercial establishments in Europe made full use of the new drink by coming up with "Coffee Houses". Several became widely known, such as "Virginia Coffee house" in London and the "Coffee of La Regence" in Paris. These were populated by famous names such as Rousseau, Voltaire, Richelieu and Diderot.

Coffee is making world headline news even now, hundreds of years later. It turns out that coffee not only stimulates humans and animals, it stimulates male sperm, as well. Brazilian urologist Dr. Fabio Pasqualotto coordinated a study that gained international recognition after he announced that men who drink at least one cup of coffee a day present greater movement of their sperm. The sperm have more energy and are faster, therefore increasing the possibility of making a woman pregnant. "The caffeine can increase the use of energy of the sperm, as if it were a stimulant. It is as if the spermatozoon took an energetic," Pasqualotto explained.

In his tests, the semen of 750 fertile men with active sexual lives was tested. The coffee did not alter the number of sperm. "The only alteration observed was in its quality of movement, independently of the amount of coffee ingested daily," the urologist said. Of the men who drank coffee, 67% of the sperm had the mobility to arrive at the ovule. Of the men who did not drink coffee, only 54% had that mobility. Testing is ongoing for men with fertility problems. <bio>Read more from this author at: http://www.mybody-magazine.com </bio>

If you want to trace your ancestors, the job is much easier with modern DNA analysis techniques. The process is very simple. You register and pay a fee. The company sends you a mouth swab kit. You use it and send it back to the lab for analysis. Cells from your mouth swab will contain your DNA.

The company have access to DNA databases that they compare your DNA to. You will be sent a report listing the individuals in the database that your DNA shows a match with.

All cells contain DNA, including the sex cells, sperm and egg cells. When a sperm and egg cell combine the new cell formed contains DNA from both parents. DNA analysis in a specialist laboratory can give evidence about the likelihood of 2 individuals being related.

There is only a tiny chance of 2 individuals having identical DNA, unless they are identical twins. Identical twins will have the same DNA because the fertilized egg that split to give the 2 fetuses came from the same sperm and the same egg. It only split after the DNA from the two sex cells had already combined.

DNA analysis can be used to pinpoint an individual at the scene of a crime. This is particularly simple in rape cases because semen contains sperm cells that contain the male DNA. Find the DNA match and you have found the rapist. All cells contain DNA though, including skin and hair cells. We drop skin and hair cells everywhere we go, so all the crime scene technician does is to collect these from a murder, arson or burglary crime scene and find the DNA profile of the criminal.

DNA analysis can be used to prove or disprove paternity. This is commonly used in cases where the mother is trying to claim maintenance payments from an absent father.

Where people were adopted as infants and are looking for their natural parents DNA analysis can also be used.

Your birth parents do not need to have registered to get a result. If any person related to you is in the database, a positive result will show. You may find grandparents, siblings or more distant relatives, all of which will lead to more information on your heritage. <bio>Sebastian Romero is a father of three. He knows several people who have traced their ancestors using DNA analysis.
When a couple gets married and is financially secure (which is easier said than done nowadays with the economy being what it is) they start thinking about having children. Sure, there are some couples who make it a point to never have children, but there are others who dream about finally getting to be parents.

However, sometimes circumstances beyond the couple's control can lead to infertility. It seems unfair to those couples who think that they have infertility problems -- after all, many people are becoming accidentally pregnant each day and are not nearly in as good of a financial situation that the couple who are having trouble conceiving have.

Before the husband immediately places the blame on the wife for infertility problems, it is very important to mention that he, and not she, might be the cause. How is this possible? Well, first of all, a man might be able to maintain an erection, but that does not mean he is able to actually ejaculate properly. After all, that is how the sperm makes its way to the uterus in the first place.

Obviously, a man does not have a microscope with him to figure out his sperm count on his own, so he should be the first one checked for possible infertility. Why? Because the tests that are done to determine a man's sperm problems are far less invasive or time consuming as opposed the tests that determine conception problems in women.

A couple is considered to have conception problems if, after a year of actively trying to conceive, they are unable to become pregnant. However, this can also apply to women who actually do conceive, but have miscarriages. If either of these scenarios apply to the couple, it is time to go see a doctor who is a specialist in fertility treatment.

The first thing that the doctor will do is schedule a consultation with the couple. During this consultation, the couple should be prepared to answer a myriad of questions about their attempts to conceive. Sometimes, there are not physical factors that actually are affecting the chances of conception. Instead, it might be lifestyle factors.

For example, if one or both parties are frequently stressed out, that extreme stress can affect the endocrine system, which plays a significant role in conception. When the endocrine system is affected, sperm levels can drop, and women can have infrequent menstrual cycles.

However, thanks to the advances in technology, couples who just a couple of decades ago could never have children are now getting that chance. The first option is artificial insemination. If the man's sperm is not strong enough to make it to the uterus, then this procedure will increase the chances of it doing so.

Or, if the problem involves the woman's egg not being able to attach itself to the uterus, then that means there is the option of having a surrogate carry the fertilized egg of the couple. So, if you are a couple having trouble conceiving, it is important to not give up hope!<bio>More information on tubal reversal, infertility and a Naperville fertility clinic of Illinois in your area is just a click away.</bio>

Nowadays, it is so in to be thin and being anything but that carries a stigma, along with increased risks of serious illnesses. If that isn't enough, recent research has found that infertility, which experts define as twelve months of unprotected intercourse that doesn't result in a pregnancy, is also related to obesity. For women, the main obstacle is lack of ovulation, which is when the body refuses to release an egg every month. Too much abdominal fat stores an excess of estrogen, the hormone that needs to fluctuate in order for ovulation to occur. At the same time, male hormone levels rise, with all that estrogen and testosterone sending the women's brain the wrong message.

When a couple is having trouble conceiving, evaluation by a fertility specialist is often a very good idea. Because it is pretty easy to count and evaluate sperm, it is easy to rule out any male problems, first. A woman who has irregular menstrual cycles should look for signs of hormonal imbalances like abnormal body hair, which indicates an excess in testosterone. Testing may reveal polycystic ovarian syndrome, which is marked by many cysts on the ovaries, hormonal imbalances, and/or ovulation problems. But if the male's sperm and both partners' hormone levels are normal, and if the woman doesn't have blocked fallopian tubes or poor thyroid function, then the problem could very well be caused by too much weight.

Obese people usually have some medical problems already; infertility seems to be just another hit. Studies have proven that even just a 5% to 10% loss of your current weight can get your ovaries working again on their own. It is impractical to suggest normal weight, as it'll take too long, while meanwhile, the ovaries are aging. You shouldn't wait until you reach your ideal weight before you try to conceive, but rather, keep dropping pounds for the sake of your overall well-being.

Your partner may even want to get fit with you, as one study has found that conception can be difficult when both partners are overweight or obese. Since obese men have problems with poor sperm counts or quality, along with weight-related hormonal imbalances, they're twice as likely to be infertile than men of normal weight. Fathers-to-be may also want to take folate, as low folate levels are linked with increased risk of defective sperm.

If you're obese, herbs and supplements may help you get pregnant, but weight loss is the critical component. To encourage ovulation, whether you are obese or not, one doctor suggests a weight-loss or weight-maintenance program, along with beta-carotene, a nutrient for ovarian function, and chaste tree berry, for its hormonal effects to optimize ovulation. This plan has proven a fifty percent success rate. Even though fertility aids such as in vitro fertilization result in a live-birth rate of more than 82%, it has been found that only 55% of those births are single babies.

If women trying for children begin eating well and exercising daily, not only will they be able to conceive more easily, but they will be physically fit and able to play with their kids all through their lives. Diet and nutrition as well as natural prenatal supplements and extra folic acid are needed to support the birth of a healthy baby boy or girl. Stop into your local health food store and see what is available for fertility for both men and women.<bio>More information on prenatal vitamins for infertility is available at VitaNet ®, LLC Health Food Store. http://vitanetonline.com/</bio>

In the past, we were made to believe that infertility is a condition that only occurs in female. But the recent science casts more enlightenment on myths that were thought to be facts, we now know for certain that infertility obviously appears even in the male patients.

In fact, we are to examine the recorded cases of infertility, details will show us that factors of infertility is divided almost equally among female and male factors. These constituting factors take 30% and another 30% are covered by the shared factors which itself covers the unknown infertility conditions.

Depending on the problems that the patient presents, treatments will vary largely from medications to extensive case analysis that may incur surgeries and operations on the affected areas.

Say for example erectile dysfunction, the only obvious clinical representation for which one may base the diagnosis of the condition. (Note: Infertility is not a physical condition and most symptoms are only shade of a far greater problem that resides inside the male's body.).

Erectile dysfunction can be readily treated with medications. But with more advanced signs of infertility in man, the ultimate treatment may lead both the patient and the physician to using assisted reproduction technologies which do not only address male factors causing infertility but may also help treat female infertility.

Normally, in several types of assisted reproduction technologies, male patients are asked to produce semen from which the sperm cells are gathered. There are many factors that will lead the techniques to either its success or its failure. One of which is the semen quality.

If the semen quality is workable for in-vitro fertilization (a form of assisted reproduction technology), it can fertilize along with female egg cells. This would commence all other methods that will follow after the semen and egg retrieval.

However, if the semen has overly low quality, it would be possible that the patients will be asked if they would want to adopt sperms from donors. If not, the procedure won't continue at all. If they would agree then the cycle will be limited to the egg cell from the partner and sperm cells from another person.

Unfortunately, there exists no technology that will help increase the quality of the sperm cells of a specific person. The only thing that the medical science can do is to make the most out of the present condition the sperm quality may offer. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.
