Compulsive activities are addictive habits that can extremely affect your life. It can create a huge problem that can damage your lifestyle, status and moral character as a whole. You may not think you are doing anything to hurt anyone, but in the end, you really are hurting yourself and your loved ones. This especially goes for compulsive spending.

What Is Compulsive Spending?

Compulsive spending is the developed habit of spending your money just because you have it. A person with a compulsive spending habit will most likely buy everything they want or like, just because there is money in their wallets. They may not even really need the item, or service. They may not even really like it. But the fact that they have money to spend is the basis for their purchase. But what they don't realize is that compulsive spending could lead them to a path that they never thought they would be on. It can send them down the financial problem river with nothing and no one to help them out. It can greatly effect the relationships that they have with their family and friends. Most importantly, they can cause damage to their own lives in a drastically devastating way.

Signs of Compulsive Spending

The one major sign of compulsive spending is the fact that you feel you need to spend money. Let's say that they you are at a mall with your friend and your only purpose there is to hang out or just eat. Before you leave the mall, if you find that you have spent a huge amount of money for things that you don't need or hardly even want, then the first sign of compulsive spending has just reared its ugly head. Now if you find yourself doing this frequently, you know you are in the habit of compulsive spending. If you find that your financial status is becoming greatly affected and you cannot control yourself from spending money, you really need to seek help.

Overcoming Compulsive Spending

One solution to overcome compulsive spending is through hypnosis. Hypnosis can help control the subconscious of the compulsive spender and help them deal with their issues. Since this compulsive habit is a mental and psychological illness, hypnosis can actually be the solution to cure this ailment.

If you cannot control yourself from spending too much, then consider hypnosis to control your subconscious to avoid any further damage. The process of hypnosis is by altering the way you are thinking and providing the possible ways into breaking through your compulsive spending. <bio>Manage your spending, find the solution here: http://compulsivespending.y54.com/ </bio>

All types of compulsive activity can become a problem if they aren't held in moderation. This goes for compulsive spending, as well. Compulsive spending is a problem that makes people spend pretty much every dollar in their wallet. People with a compulsive spending problem can often be found buying things that they don't even need. They see it and they buy it just because they can. If you don't get help for this problem, it can cause substantial damage to your life. Spending problems and money problems have been the ruin of quite a few relationships. Compulsive spending can ruin lives.

Compulsive spending could be the result of some sort of problem in a person's youth. Maybe they didn't have much money as a kid. Maybe they didn't get to buy things when they were young. It could be an addiction to clothes or another product. Whatever the case, it can cause damage to a person's life. People with compulsive spending disorder can spend more money than they have. They can hurt their future and the future of their loved ones because they blew every dollar in the bank.

If you feel like you can't control how much money you spend, then it is time to seek out some help. It's time to address those things which are causing your spending problems. One great way to do this is to go through hypnosis. Hypnosis is something that is a mystery to many people. They see hypnosis on the movies or in a magic show and they don't understand its purpose. Hypnosis is really a full attack of the subconscious. It is used to replace broken thinking with some more positive thoughts.

In my time reaching clients as a hypnotherapist, I have seen people come through with problems like compulsive spending. I have seen them come in with a problem that they felt was incurable. In short, hypnosis was their last resort. Then, they came and found help with hypnosis and their lives were changed forever. After hypnosis made them change their thinking, they no longer had money problems that put a riff in many of their relationships. I am confident that hypnosis can have a similar impact on your life. If you need a change in thinking in order to get over a problem with compulsive spending, then go ahead and get all of the information that you can find on hypnosis. You will be very glad that you did. <bio>For more on compulsive spending and how to overcome your compulsive spending disorder, please visit Richard MacKenzie's website http://www.richardmackenzie.co.uk/shop/compulsive-spending-mp3.htm and http://www.richardmackenzie.co.uk/compulsive-spending.htm </bio>

Compulsive spending is something that people suffer from and they don't really know why. Though many people would laugh at the idea that spending could be a problem, there are many others who have real problems with their spending. When they go into a store, they have to spend every dollar in their pocket. It doesn't matter if they have one dollar or one million dollars. They have it, so they are going to spend it. In those cases, these people can ruin their relationships and drain their bank accounts. They can hurt their future and the future of those people who are around them.

Compulsive spending is a problem that is born out of other problems within a person's life. Sometimes, people go on compulsive spending binges because they are unhappy with who they are. They want to make people believe that they are something different. They want people to think that money is no problem when in reality; it might be a huge problem. Other folks use compulsive spending as a way to correct some of the things of their past. They want to make up for the fact that their parents couldn't provide the finer things in life.

If you are one of those people who can't save any money because it is constantly being spent, then you need to try to make a change in your thinking. You probably don't want to spend this money and it's likely that you even feel a good bit of buyer's remorse after a big purchase. You won't stop spending, though, unless some outside help is found. That outside help can often be found in the form of hypnosis. Hypnosis can go to work on your subconscious thoughts. Subconscious thoughts are the things that power your actions. If you can learn to harness those thoughts through hypnosis, you can fix compulsive problems and a bunch of other things.

I have treated people for lots of different conditions. I have helped people stop smoking and stop gambling by using hypnosis techniques. Hypnosis is something that many people are unaware of. They have preconceived notions about what hypnosis might be. If you have problems with compulsive spending, then hypnosis could something that helps you get over it. It is important that people with all sorts of problems explore all of their options. Get information on hypnosis to find out if it's right for you. <bio>For more on compulsive spending and how to overcome your compulsive spending disorder, please visit Richard MacKenzie's website http://www.richardmackenzie.co.uk/shop/compulsive-spending-mp3.htm and http://www.richardmackenzie.co.uk/compulsive-spending.htm </bio>

Credit card spending can be hard to keep track off if you are not disciplined, but it is important to monitor your spending in order to stop yourself getting into huge debt. If you are having trouble keeping tracking of what you spend on your credit cards, then here are some useful tips to help you control your spending.

Take stock and stop spending

Before you do anything, you should stop spending on your credit card and look at the situation you are currently in. Whether you have virtually no balance or a large debt, it is important to see exactly how much you have spent. This is the first step to managing your spending.

Make notes on your spending

Once you know what the situation is, start using your credit card as you normally do and monitor your spending. Take notes every time you spend money on your credit card, and look at how much you spend and what you spend it on. By dividing what you spend into categories you can see the areas that you are spending the most money, and where you can cut back on your spending.

Transfer balances

If you have a number of credit cards, then transfer the balances onto the lowest interest cards if possible. This will reduce the amount that you are paying in interest on your balances.

Get rid of cards

Once you have paid off some of your balances, then you can get rid of some of the cards that you have. You should make sure that you have only one or two credit cards, as this will help you to more easily keep track of spending.

Create a budget

Create a budget for yourself that you can stick to. If you look at how much you earn each month, and the subtract all the essential bills and spending from that, you will see how much money you have left to spend on extra things. Make sure that you stick to this budget, as it will help you to spend wisely and not get into debt.

Bank online

Banking online can really help you to keep track of your credit card spending. You can easily check your balance at any time of the day or night, and can instantly see what you have spent daily. Also, you can transfer your bank statements into an accounts program to better help you manage your money.

Credit cards for emergencies

Although spending on credit cards is a fact of life for most people, you should try and keep credit card spending to a minimum, and keep the cards handy for emergency situations. Also, try and save some money each month, as this will reduce the need for credit cards. Credit cards are a very useful financial tool, and if you monitor your spending properly then you will get the most out of your credit cards. <bio>Peter Kenny is a writer for creditcards-gb Please visit us at http://www.creditcards-gb.co.uk and http://www.thriftyscot.co.uk/Credit-Cards/ </bio>

Spending a lot of money on shopping is not some thing new as manufacturers try coming up with new products every now and then. Getting attracted towards such products is quite normal, but when a product is nothing to you and you tend to waste the precious dollars earned by you on shopping for things that are of no use to you, there seems to be a problem. Many a time people come across the new gadgets that have come up in the market. In order to buy such high-tech products people tend to spend more than even what they have, at the end what they have is nothing more than the stupid gadget that is of no use for you and of course a credit card bill that you are supposed to pay for.

Compulsive spending is commonly seen in today's youth, where they tend to spend money on shopping, the frequent visits to a shopping complex does not mean that a person is crazy about shopping, at times many tend to buy products that are of least use. Spending heaps of money will surely ruin a person's future making it a nightmare for him. He/she would remember those days when compulsive spending drained the best out of him/her. Such a situation might create an alarming scenario with your loved ones as you might be ruining your as well as your loved ones future. In order to avoid such scenarios try overcoming this compulsive spending disorder by getting proper treatment for this.

May be you are aware of the compulsive spending habit of yours and try avoid spending money, but this so called temporary motivation doesn't work for more than days or a weeks time, and the next time you pass by a store you think of just checking out the latest collections, and lo you find yourself spending your money again. Treating it requires help from something that has achieved success in past. One such highly satisfying treatment is hypnosis. A hypnosis treatment directly interacts with your upset mind that is always thinking of spending those precious dollars. However you yourself can do the hypnosis treatment by downloading mp3 contents from the Internet that can help you deal with compulsive spending.

Hypnosis is a kind of treatment that is related to every mental issue and suffices as an efficient means of treating your mental blocks regarding the habit of compulsive money expenditure. Mp3 downloads can help you with the cure for your compulsive spending disorder. Start using it before you have nothing left in your bank account. Maybe if you have already come across this treatment you would be thinking why you wasted all the time and money in the past, where you could have saved even more money. Mp3 downloads come to you, as a beneficial treatment that is a great investment where you can use it repeatedly. The hypnosis for compulsive spending puts your life in perspective where you begin to understand the worthlessness of your buying habits. It helps you see the pointlessness related to your compulsive behavior and enables you to control your spending binge. <bio>For more information on compulsive spending and compulsive spending disorder check the link - http://www.richardmackenziedirect.com/Compulsive-Spending-Hypnosis.htm </bio>

Compulsive spending is a major problem that can be caused by any number of psychological issues. Though it might not seem like a big deal to most people, controlling spending is a major issue for others. When spending goes wild, folks can damage their bank accounts, their careers, and their relationships. Compulsive spending is just like any other compulsive disorder in that it takes control of a person. After a while, there is no chance to even make a good decision regarding your spending. You might need to seek help if this is you.

Have you ever been to a store and found that you couldn't keep from buying something? I am not talking about going to a store and buying something that you need. That's a normal action. When spending becomes a problem, people go to a store and buy a product just for the sake of spending. They can't go a day without some sort of compulsive spending. Why do people suffer from this problem? It can come from any number of problems that could be from the past.

If a person has gone through a past that was a little rough, they might be trying to make up for that. They could hide behind the excuse that they are simply trying to provide something that they never had earlier in life. While this is fine some of the time, holding onto that grudge from the past is not healthy. In addition, people might go on compulsive spending binges because they want to trick people into believing that they have their finances in order. These are problems that must be fixed quickly or the problem will continue.

Hypnosis can help with the problem of compulsive spending. People don't understand that hypnosis is actually a solution for many mentally related ailments. Though it won't heal cancer, hypnosis can help people deal with other issues. If all you know about hypnosis is what you have seen in the movies, then you need to do more research. Compulsive spending is one problem that hypnosis can effectively fix.

If you can't get past your spending problems, then consider using hypnosis as a solution for the problem. Though it is not as common a medical practice as it should be, hypnosis has been known to help with all sorts of problems. Get a solution today for your problems and find out if hypnosis is right for you. <bio>For more on compulsive spending and how to overcome your compulsive spending disorder, please visit Richard MacKenzie's website http://www.richardmackenzie.co.uk/shop/compulsive-spending-mp3.htm and http://www.richardmackenzie.co.uk/compulsive-spending.htm </bio>

Have you ever taken $20 out of an ATM and wondered later where it went? Start keeping a daily spending diary to keep track of where your money goes. Try it out for one week and you'll be amazed at how much you can spend on the little things like coffee, eating out and entertainment. Here's how to do it:

Take a blank piece of paper and create a column for each day of the week, Monday through Friday.

Put the piece of paper in your wallet or purse =96 somewhere where you can have it with you at all times.

Make a note of every single penny that you spend =96 This is very important, if you forget to write down a coffee here and a soda there, you won't have a complete picture of how you're spending your money by the end of the week.

At the end of the week quickly order the items that you spent money on throughout the week into the following categories: Food, transportation, entertainment, clothing, housing and other. Next add up your expenses in each category. Here's an example of one day:

Monday

Coffee - $2.75 Food: $10.60

Bus fare - $3.00 Transportation: $3.00

Lunch =96 $7.85 Entertainment: $2.50

Magazine - $2.50 TOTAL: $16.10

Next, find out what percentage of your money you spend on each category by dividing the total for each category by the overall total. Following the example above, I spent 66% on food ($10.60/$16.10).

Once you have completed your calculations look carefully through your analysis. Does anything surprise you? Are you spending more money than you thought on small items? Small things, like coffee, drinks, cigarettes etc=85 can really add up in a week! Just think, if you spend $3 on coffee every day, that's $21 a week or $1,092 a year! Identify these areas that surprise you and look for opportunities to cut back on your spending.

Keeping a daily spending diary is an easy way to take control over your spending and to identify some less than desirable spending habits. Also as an added bonus, by keeping a daily spending diary, you're already halfway there in creating your own personal budget. Next week we'll explain how to set up your budget. In the meantime, congratulations on taking an important first step! You're on your way to learning more about Your Money and You.

TIP: Use your daily spending diary as a savings tool. After one week you should be able to easily identify some areas to cut back on your spending. The money you save will bring you one step closer to your goals of opening a business, saving for your children's education, purchasing a home or taking a dream vacation. <bio>Your Money and You Staff have written a series of finance related articles.
Are you getting past due notices on bills you thought you paid? Did you try to take money out of your bank account and you found out it's overdrawn? Or, did you try to pay for your groceries and found out that your check was rejected and you can't pay for your groceries for your family? Or maybe, you went to your favorite retail store to purchase an item you thought you could not live without and attempted to charge it to your credit card and you were told your purchase is declined? You probably have the symptoms of spending which is out of control.

You're trying to figure out what should I do to control my spending. There are some things you may want to consider which include the following:

1) Get a copy of your bank statement to find out about the items which have gone through your account which include; checks, debits, deposits and withdrawals. This will help you to find out where you are in your spending. You've gotta start somewhere, so this is a good place to begin.

2) Work on reducing your spending. What do I mean by this? Well, cut out items you want but really don't need. For instance, consider reducing your shopping if you find yourself in stores on a daily or weekly basis. Just by reducing your shopping you can save yourself lots of money!

3) Consider reducing your entertainment expenses by going out less. Reducing entertainment such as movies, restaurants, coffee houses, concerts, etc..., will save you money in your wallet! It may be tough at first, but you'll like it in the end, because your money will grow!

4) Write down what you spend in order to keep track of the money you're spending. This will enable you to determine where you are spending your money. You will be able to make adjustments if you need to.

5) You may want to even consider keeping a weekly or monthly savings log which will give you an idea of the amount of money you are actually saving when you have reduced your expenditures. You will be able to create this log based on you keeping track of the money you are spending. This will reinforce the effort you have made to reduce your spending my giving you information on the amount of money you are actually keeping in your bank account. Indeed this is positive feedback for you to keep striving to keep your expenditures down and in check.

See you really can work on your spending to keep you money from being eaten if you set your mind to it! You've just got to start working on it and you will accomplish gaining control over your finances. It just takes work, but you can do it, just get started! <bio>Nocita is a writer and web designer that creates websites providing informative tips on various subject matter including personal finance tips on your personal finances at http://www.personal-finance-tips-for-you.com ; dating tips at http://www.mydating-tips.com and your choice of ebooks at http://www.ebook-corner-for-you.com </bio>

You receive your paycheck and you are too happy about it. You have planned to save every 6cms wide and 15cms long bill with the famous presidents posing with their wide smile. But instead you visit a shopping mall and decide to buy jeans. You do grab it, and as if that's not all, you see a sale banner at the shoe store and go ahead and grab that too. Now you have a pair of shoes and jeans, so you decide to get a shirt to wear as well. You keep on buying stuff though you have it all and you really don't need these things and obviously you end up with no money and your credit cards have reached the maximum limit. Well of course you may panic, but you may still continue spending.

My dear friend you are addicted to compulsive spending. This addiction is observed more in women then men. Women can spend their entire bank balance at a single store.

The reason for compulsive spending or shopping can be temporary depression, or even loneliness. If you think compulsive spending makes your life happy and makes you feel light, think again because it offers momentary pleasure but actually makes your life worse. After spending everything you have, you may be faced with an emergency and you will be left with no financial aid. To a large extent it affects your family, your work and your health, as you are constantly dealing with the pressure of how you are going to manage your expenses and pending bills and the list goes on. You may take an extra job to pay the bills as pending bills might hamper your credit scores but you still won't stop spending.

You might not be taking drugs nor are you an alcoholic and even if you're simply spending on clothes and shopping, this excessive spending is categorized as an addiction and you are a victim of compulsive spending disorder. A disorder that is totally destroying you much quicker than you would expect.

A compulsive spending disorder makes you buy things, which are even beyond your capacity or will and are not even needed by you. The compulsive spending disorder is a symptom, which indicates that a person is deeply disturbed. The best way to overcome the compulsive spending disorder is to recognize and acknowledge that there is a problem. If you realize that your compulsive spending is the reason for your problems then you may start avoiding it. You can always consult a therapist. You can overcome the compulsive spending disorder as this ever-addictive behavior can be treated. Just go ahead and see a therapist. With a little help you can overcome the disorder and live a life, which is priceless.

Why not try something different? During the later part of the last century. people the world over were experiencing the benefits of using Hypnosis to do things like stop smoking and lose weight. Since then the practice of Hypnotherapy has come a long was with many reaping its benefits to help them over come their compulsive spending disorder. <bio>For more on compulsive spending and compulsive spending disorder check out the link http://www.richardmackenziedirect.com/Compulsive-Spending-Hypnosis.htm </bio>

Big Spender is a reality show on AandE where personal finance expert Larry Winget tries to help people with financial issues. I recommend that you should never watch this show based on the episode I watched on Sunday. The episode that I watched had to deal with couple from Miami who are planning on getting married. Even though the couple was making about $8,500 a month, they were spending more than that each month, and had managed to max out the prospective groom's credit cards.

Mr. Winget reviewed the couple's finances and made a list of tasks and ultimatums that the couple was suppose to follow. I had two problems with the approach. The first problem is that I think the couple needed to work on the tasks before they adhered to a budget. The first task was for the couple to set up short term and long term financial goals, you need to understand and buy into what you want to accomplish financially before you are truly able to create and adhere to a financial plan. They were also asked to track their spending in a journal. I think that tracking your expenses in a journal should also be done before you create your financial plan. This way you can see what you are spending your money on and have a better understanding of what expenses you can actually cut. The third task was for the prospective groom to sit down with his fiancé and review the monthly expenses; this was a failure because the prospective groom had no desire to see the bills.

The second problem that I had with Mr. Winget's approach is that he had a couple with obvious spending issues and told them to stop most of their spending. While this plan made financial sense, the episode did not deal with helping the couple to understand why they were spending so much money, nor did Mr. Winget offer any other alternatives other than to stop spending money. The couple did not follow the spending plan and did a poor job at following the tasks.

I think that the episode was a failure because there was not an attempt to have the couple buy into the changes that they were making. The goal of this episode should have been to develop long term spending habits, and I think that the show did a terrible job in trying to help the couple develop these habits. <bio>John MacKenzie is the Assistant Director of http://www.addclasses.com, he also writes a blog titled http://www.adultaddandmoney.com </bio>

Prepaid cards are one of the newest and most interesting financial products on the market, and they are something that everyone should be made aware of. However, many people do not know what prepaid cards are, and how they can benefit you. If you want to know more about prepaid cards, then here is some advice about their advantages and disadvantages.

What does prepaid mean?

Many of us have prepaid phone cards or SIM cards for our mobiles, but prepaid debit cards are quite a new idea. However, the concept is the same as other prepaid mediums, where you load money onto a card and then you can spend this money at retailers or withdraw the money at an ATM. You load money onto the card using cash, bank transfer or another card.

Are they credit or debit cards?

Prepaid cards are neither credit nor debit cards, but have features similar to both. These are VISA or MasterCard cards usually, and so have the wide usage and security features of a credit card. However, you are not borrowing money, simply using your own money to top up a card and spend on it. They are a financial product that falls in between debit and credit cards. What are the advantages?

The major advantage of a prepaid card is that you can easily keep track of your spending and limit yourself to a certain level of spending each month. Also, you don't have to pay interest and don't have to go through credit checks to get one. All of the funds on the card are completely controlled by the amount of money you wish to put on it. This means there is no risk of borrowing too much and getting into debt.

Who should get a prepaid card?

Prepaid cards can be useful for anyone who wants to control their spending but still have the security and usage features of a credit card. Also, prepaid cards can be very useful for teenagers or children if they need a card. As a parent you can control their spending by only putting on a certain amount each week or month for them to spend, whilst still giving them the freedom and security to purchase items using plastic.

The costs of a prepaid card

Although prepaid cards have many advantages, they can cost you money through various charges and fees. Many prepaid cards carry an application charge as well as a monthly usage charge. If you are paying a monthly service charge, then you need to make sure that other services are given to you for this money, such as helplines or added security. Before getting a prepaid card, you should shop around to find the card that has the lowest fees. Although you are not paying interest, these fees can add up and if you don't use the card a lot could cost you more than you will end up spending. However, if you look around there are some good deals to be had. If you want to control your spending or your child's then getting a prepaid card might be the answer. <bio>Peter Kenny is a writer for creditcards-gb Please visit us at http://www.creditcards-gb.co.uk and http://www.thriftyscot.co.uk/Credit-Cards/ </bio>

Even though many lenders that offer programs to assist buyers without a mortgage down payment, it is still a good idea to save up as much as you can.

Here are some tips to help you save.

Having a mortgage down payment benefits you in many ways.

The more you have for a mortgage down payment, the more you can afford to pay for a home. Let's say for example, that based on your income and debt level you are able to borrow $100,000 from a lender. That means you can afford a home that is priced at $100,000 or lower. If you were to have a $10,000 down payment on your home, you would be able to purchase a home priced at $100,000.

Not only does a higher mortgage down payment allow you to purchase a higher priced home, it can also reduce the amount of money that you spend each month on your mortgage payment. "How is that?" you ask. Lenders have found that there is a higher rate of mortgage default by home buyers that a mortgage down payment that is less than 20 percent of the sale price. This means that on a home priced at $100,000, your mortgage down payment was less than $20,000.

For extra protection, the lender requires that you pay private mortgage insurance each month. This insurance premium increases the amount of money you pay each month. You must pay this insurance until you have 20 percent equity in your home, or in this case $20,000.

Saving for a mortgage down payment doesn't come naturally, especially if you aren't used to saving money in your current financial situation. With some adjustments to your spending, you can easily put aside some funds to use toward your mortgage down payment.

To figure out how you can start saving money, you have to first analyze your current spending. Take some time to document your current income and spending each month. As you examine your spending habits, look for ways that you can decrease the amount of money that leaves your budget each month. This might call for some lifestyle changes and sacrifices on your part.

There are a few necessities that you cannot cut out of your budget, this includes the cost of housing, transportation, medication, food, and utilities. Even within these necessities, you can find ways to spend less money. For example, the kind and amount of food you eat can have an affect on your budget. You can consume less power to reduce your monthly power bill.

Outside those items that are necessary for living, you can look for ways to cut down on spending. Cable television might be something you can cut out of your budget. Pay close attention to leisure and impulse spending.

Once you've determined how you can reduce your spending, the next step is to start saving. Calculate the amount you plan to cut on spending and start putting this money into a savings account each month. The earlier you start saving, the more you will be able to save up for a mortgage down payment. <bio>Download 101 Free House Selling Secrets Here-with resale rights: http://www.freelandproperty.com/buysellhomes/buy.htm </bio>

Most people have tried it -- spending more on the holidays than intended. I comes as a surprise again an again. What is it with money and budgets that do not work? People split up because of money. It is an invisible force from our subconscious mind that tricks us to buy stuff we can not afford at a given moment.

The best way to stop spending too much money over the holidays, is to set a budget for how much you can spend, especially for gifts, and then stick with it, no matter what. Even if you subconscious mind tells you it is okay.

Do it outside the holidays too, people should keep a rein on their spending there as well. If you do it at all times it should be no problem in the holidays as well.

Sixty-one percent of Americans either does not have an annual household budget or feel it is difficulty to stick with it. Out of those who have tried to keep a household budget, fifty percent gave up trying to follow it. Your subconscious mind is doing its thing even if you do not like it.

The best way to maintain financial discipline might be to stop using credit cards. If you know you do not have enough money to buy something and pay for it this month, then maybe you should not buy it at all. Without a credit card in your pocket, you can not be tricked by your own mind to buy anything.

Maybe you have doubts whether you should spend anything on the holidays or not. Is it not just an industry game that is way too expensive for regular people? I think not, don't be afraid. You can get tons of great stuff that is not too expensive and that will bring joy and smiles in the house.

Have fun and thank you for your time. <bio>Much more information on Budget Holiday http://www.budget-holiday-e.com on this website.
Some people I know have trouble sticking to their budget in a variety of areas. Other people have trouble even making a budget that is realistic for their lifestyle. One of the biggest spending problems that people in today's world face is having the self-control and discipline to limit their use of the credit card. If you are one of these people that creates a bill larger than life with your credit card each month, consider seriously using a prepaid credit card.

Using a prepaid credit card is a beautiful thing. Very simply, a prepaid credit card is one that you make a payment on before you spend money. However much you put onto your prepaid credit card becomes your spending limit. A deposit of one hundred dollars onto your prepaid credit card will limit your spending to that amount.

Sound restricting? In some senses, having a prepaid credit card instead of a regular credit card is restricting. You can no longer go out and spend money on anything and everything that catches your eye. Careful consideration must be given to each purchase because of the limit that your prepaid credit card imposes on you. In that way, a prepaid credit card is absolutely a restriction on your spending. On the other hand, a prepaid credit card gives you great freedom.

A prepaid credit card gives you the freedom to clearly set your own spending boundaries and to enjoy shoppping within those boundaries. For anyone who has ever gotten in trouble by spending too much, a prepaid credit card can be your ticket to enjoyable and risk free shopping. It can be very freeing to know that you can spend a certain amount of money and not have any consequences to deal with later. A prepaid credit card makes shopping fun and enjoyable because you know that you have already paid the bill.

Still not convinced? I challenge you to try exchanging your regular credit cards for a prepaid credit card for the next six months. Sit down and create a budget for yourself. If you need help creating a reasonable budget, get some. Having financial freedom is worth any amount of initial work it might be. Once your budget is created, put the designated amount of money on your prepaid credit card. Then shop away, knowing that each of the purchases you make is within the boundaries that you have established for yourself. I guarentee that after six months of this kind of restriction you will be more free with your money than you've ever been. Trust me. Get a prepaid credit card today. <bio>Julee Mitchelsin has been using a prepaid credit cards for years.
If you need a shopping "fix" to get through the day in the same way as others maybe take a cigarette or coffee break, then it's time to tackle your compulsive spending addiction.

If you're really brave, you could cut up all your credit cards. But let's face it, if you were that organized and efficient, you probably wouldn't be spending money like it was going out of fashion anyway.

So, back in the real world, how can you start to change your addiction to shopping and spending money?

Boring as it sounds, step one is recognizing that you actually do have an addiction to shopping.

Because until you realize you have a problem, it's very difficult to work on it and overcome it.

Take a look around your home and your wardrobe. If it's full of things that have never been used or worn (maybe some items are even still wrapped in the plastic they came in), then you may have a problem. Or someone you know may have a shopping addiction.

Of course, recognizing the problem is only the first step. Sure, it's an important step, but next you need to do something about it.

The next step is to stop beating yourself up about your excessive spending. The only person who gets hurt is you and that's counter productive.

Also it's important not to label yourself. If you say something along the lines of "I'm a compulsive shopper" or "I'm a shopaholic" then you're actually giving yourself permission to continue with the habit. Which is bad news.

Turn around the label you've given yourself. Reinvent yourself - celebrities do this all the time, so it's fine for you to do it as well.

Maybe call yourself a "discerning shopper" who only buys the occasional true bargains and sees through the rest of the shopping temptations for what they really are. Don't let this get to the stage of lecturing others about their shopping habits though - you don't want to become a shopping evangelist!

The next trick is to keep yourself out of harm's way as much as possible. Nowadays, that's more difficult to do as there's 24 hour shopping to keep your addiction fuelled up if you want to.

Maybe allocate yourself some personal shopping time and stick to it. Ideally with a budget that either you or a partner enforces, so that if you go over-budget one week, you have to compensate by going under-budget the following week.

Remember, there's no one magic solution - it's whatever works best for you personally.

The other important thing is not to give up the first time you fail.

And unless you're superhuman, you're likely to fail occasionally.

That's fine. The world didn't end just because you made a minor slip up. Just don't use the occasional failure to curb your compulsive spending as an excuse to give up completely.

Also don't be afraid to seek help. A trusted friend is good for this or you can choose anonymous help like an MP3 hypnosis track. Again, whatever works best for you.<bio>Find out more about how to control your compulsive spending including how hypnosis can help you stop your shopping addiction.</bio>

Where is Your Money Going?

Each day you count the money bills in your wallet with a promise you will not spend it on unnecessary items like coffee at the cafeteria. Anyway, you can bring a sachet of your favorite mix and use the hot water from the office water dispenser. If you review your thoughts, you are surprised at how you regard your money. It is not surprising that you have rescued your money clips from early retirement.

You carefully arrange the crisp and creased money bills in different money clips - one for home expenses, another for the day's commute and emergency cash just in case you walk straight into a hotdog cart for a cheap lunch. The other money clips will have to stay at home so you will not spend the money on a tantalizing shot of whiskey.

So where is your money going? Is the money in your money clips going towards your retirement portfolio, a mortgage? Life or health insurance? If this is the case, then you are spending your money on worthwhile things. But if you are spending your money on credit card bills and never-ending payday loans, then there is something wrong with the way you manage your personal finances.

You are Wasting Money If. . .

If you invest too much on appearances even if you earn just enough to keep body and soul together, you are walking into a financial trap. Sure, it boosts the ego if you look like a big shot in your expensive outfit and drive around your nifty little car, which you bought on credit. You'd rather spend on these things than stash money in insurance or investment portfolios. You are still young and who cares?

Perhaps you are not even aware you're wasting your money. All you know is you don't have enough money to last you three days before payday. Look at this list of money wasters; maybe this will help you spot the money wasters in disguise:

* Spending too much money on the vet instead of taking good care of your pets.
* Buying brand name medicines instead of going generic
* Repairing your car two times a week
* Buying in classy stores
* Spending more money to look sexually attractive
* Eating out in fancy restaurants
* Flying first class all the time

Simple Ways to Save Money That You Can See

People have different styles when it comes to save money. They cut on expenses and do away with things and luxuries they can live without. If you wonder if you have saved money, here is what you can do:

* Arrange your money in money clips. One for Monday, Tuesday and so forth. Use one money clip at a time and the extra money should go to a personal fund. Make a target that at the end of the week all the money clips have half of the money you have store in each.

* Sort your budgeted money in money clips and at the end of the day make sure you have only spent half of it. The money remaining in the money clip is your tip that you've saved this much for the day.

This is a simple approach but watching the remaining money your money clips can encourage you to spend less and save more.<bio>Let your money clips work for you.
The mortgage loan that allows you to pay off your debt and then get into more debt with overspending is a very bad choice. This interest only mortgage could help some people, but more often than not will encourage people to spend more money than they really have to spend.

There are so many ways to get credit these days it is no wonder that people are spending way more money than they actually earn.

On college campuses there are people everywhere extolling the virtues of spending money on credit cards and trying to get students to sign up for way more credit than they need. Many people are too immature to really use credit cards properly and shouldn't have them in the first place. If you get an interest only mortgage you will probably be getting a home you really can't afford and paying off credit card debt for things you couldn't afford from the beginning. This is not progressive thinking at all, instead it hurts people's finances and doesn't help them to make wise choices for the future.

If you get an interest only mortgage you are simply replacing non-deductible debt. This over extended debt continues to hurt consumers as they pay and pay. If you are already in credit card debt then it is a bad idea to continue to spend and spend.

These companies don't want you to stop spending because if you do they won't make money. Credit card companies need to keep you spending for them to make money. Every time you spend money on something you don't need you play a role in keeping yourself in debt. It can be hard to get out of debt, but it is something that is well worth it for you and your family. You don't want to keep being sucked down into debt and ruin your credit.

Each person needs to be responsible for his or her spending habits. If you don't take control for your own personal finances, then who will? There are some companies that will advertise to people with bad credit to take up and interest only mortgage with them just to pay off their credit card debt.

These companies are preying on your inability to take care of your own personal finance situation.

When people really know about what kind of terms and conditions are involved in an interest only mortgage they will be much less likely to opt for this kind of mortgage. This is a very risky investment on the part of the lender so they will try to get the most money from the consumer as they possibly can. If you opt for this type of mortgage loan then you might spend a lot more on your house then you could of ever imagined. Try to get your credit situation in order before you buy a home. Learning to spend more wisely is the first thing to do when you need to get your life in order! <bio>Clinton Maxwell regularly edits detailed reports on ideas dealing with money management and assets.
Millions of individuals and families are indebt or on the verge of it. Debt can be accumulated from a wide variety of different sources; however, credit debt is the most common. If you are a credit cardholder, you may be concerned with what that card may be doing to your finances. Not all credit cardholders develop a problem with debt, but a large number do. To prevent yourself from falling victim to credit card debt, you are encouraged familiarize yourself with the proper ways to use a credit card.

The most important thing that you can do to avoid credit card debt is watch what you are spending your money on. There are a large number of individuals who only use their credit cards for emergencies, but others use them on a daily basis. What type of individual are you? If you find yourself using your credit card on a daily basis, especially if you do not have the money to payoff your balance at the time, you may be on your way to accumulating a large amount of credit card debt.

Curbing your spending habits is, perhaps, the easiest way that you can avoid credit card debt. Unfortunately, curbing your spending habits is often easier said than done. If you notice that you have a problem with spending, it is advised that you only carry one credit card with you. If you have more than one, you are encouraged to keep them in a safe place at home. The credit card that you plan on carrying with you should be one with a low spending limit. This limit may prevent you from making large purchases on an impulse.

When using your credit card to pay for an item, it is important to determine whether or not you can actually afford that item. Credit cards are nice to have if something unexpected comes up and you don't have the money. However, credit cards should not be used on a daily basis, especially if you do not have the money to pay for your purchase in cash. Preventing yourself from making large purchases with your credit card is the best way to avoid credit card debt. The less money you owe on your credit card, the less debt you will be in.

Aside from curbing your spending habits, you are also encouraged to make your payments on time. Even if you are only making the minimum monthly payments, it is still advised that you make your credit card payments on time. If you miss a payment or send one in late, it is likely that your credit card company will charge you a late fee and increase your minimum monthly payments. This is where many individuals find themselves having a problem with debt. Once the monthly payment becomes too much to afford, there are many who just stop making payments. You are encouraged not to do this.

The more money you pay on your credit card bill the better, but it is important to remember that anything is better than nothing. Whether you curb your spending habits or go out of your way to make sure that your credit card payments are made on time, you are helping yourself and your finances. With a watchful eye, you can make sure that your credit card does not become a financial death trap. <bio>Joe Kenny writes for the UK personal finance sites http://www.ukpersonalloanstore.co.uk and also http://www.cardguide.co.uk </bio>

There are very few people who don't have credit cards. Most people who are over the age of 18 can testify getting many unsolicited letters from dozens of credit card companies, each one promising to help you save money, if you would just get a credit card through them.

Of course there is no denying that credit cards are very convenient. You can pay for almost anything and you don't need to carry wads of cash around with you. Credit cards especially come in handy when you are a student. Just think of all those unexpected expenses that come up all the time, such as extra course material that you have to pay for, or the science trip your professor organized.

However, with students not being the most responsible people on the planet, there is a danger that credit cards can be used in the wrong way and for the wrong things. Hence parents have a responsibility to educate their kids in the correct and responsible use of credit cards.

What if a student finds himself in an unforeseen emergency of some sort? If he has credit available he can use the credit card to rescue himself. Putting spending limits on your credit card adds a measure of control and security, especially for the student who may find himself short of cash at some point.

With the advent of Internet banking most card issuers are giving their customers 24 hour access to their accounts. This means that one can easily check your balance which is an additional benefit. Because if you see that you have somewhat overspent you can curb your spending.

Another way that parents can keep student credit card spending in check is by having the credit card in the name of the parents. That way the parents can have better control over the spending habits of their children and they can for example set their own spending limits. If they see that their children act irresponsibly they can punish them by withholding funds for things they really want. This will add as a deterrent towards behaving irresponsibly and encourage responsible spending habits. <bio>For more information on credit cards, including how to find the best deals please visit http://www.credit-card-centre.com now. </bio>

People have to start their financial learning at some point in their lives, and this usually starts when they are children or young teenagers. But what sort of financial products are good for teenagers, if anything at all? One on hand you need to teach them the value of money, but on the other hand they need some form of card or cash in order to start being independent. If you are unsure what type is right for your children, then here is some advice on credit cards for teenagers.

Stay away from normal credit

If you have a child, then you should really stay away from traditional credit cards, because these types of cards do not promote responsible spending. Although a credit card would allow a child to make mistakes about spending and learn from them, simply giving them a line of credit will probably end in disaster. You have no way of stopping them from spending the whole limit in one go, and they are putting you and themselves in debt.

Prepaid cards

Despite normal credit cards being a bad idea, there is a new type of card on the market that is being targeted at children. These cards are known as prepaid cards, and have most of the facilities of a credit card; except that you put money on the card in the same way you put money on a mobile phone. Instead of giving your child a credit card, you can put a certain amount of money on the card each week or month and then the child can use the card as they see fit.

Benefits of prepaid cards

The main benefit of a prepaid card is that it combines the freedom of having a card with the ability to control spending. This makes it ideal for parents who want to give their children a level of financial responsibility but still have the means to control the amount they spend and on what. By having a card with a statement, the parent can see exactly what their child is spending their money on and when. This is a very useful tool in helping to educate children on money expenditure. Also, prepaid cards are safer than having your child carry around cash, plus it also allows them to make purchases online.

Drawbacks of prepaid cards

Although many believe these cards are better for children than other financial products, there are still question marks over whether they are a good idea. Although they are touted as helping children to learn about finance, this can be done in other ways apart from giving out a card. Also, keeping track of spending is not always easy, as some of the cards allow cash withdrawals, meaning that they could spend their money on anything. Also, there is the danger that parents will put too much money on the cards, which will have the opposite effect on teaching children about money and simply make them believe they can spend what they like. Also, there are fees involved in these cards, such as an application fee and top up fees. Although these cards might be good for some families, you should think carefully about the benefits and drawbacks before deciding on whether or not you want your child to have such a card. <bio>Peter Kenny is a writer for creditcards-gb Please visit us at http://www.creditcards-gb.co.uk and http://www.thriftyscot.co.uk/Credit-Cards/ </bio>
