Before a soccer player is even allowed to step out onto the soccer field, the referee does his standard check of each player to insure that he or she is wearing all of the necessary soccer gear. Shin Guards, socks, cleats, uniforms tucked in, no jewelry, and so forth. Along with the necessary gear among each of the players, the teams also need a soccer ball, a net, goalkeeper equipment, soccer bags, practice jerseys, flags, cones, etc.

One of the most important parts of purchasing any type of sporting gear is to make sure that the equipment fits the player correctly, in order for it to protect the way that it is intended. For example, soccer shin guards should cover the shins up to just below the knee, with the soccer socks covering the entire shin guard.

There are many different brands that carry soccer gear, so a little research and background knowledge of each company will aid in the selection of the best soccer gear for each individual player. Many of the most well known sporting and shoe companies make their own soccer gear. Nike™, Adidas™, Puma™, Umbro™, Lotto™, and Franklin™ are just a few of the leading manufacturers in soccer gear. One of the first thoughts in many consumers' heads when it comes to buying anything is where they can get the best deal. That is okay, but it's important to remember that quality should outlast low cost, and quality made soccer gear will keep the players safe, and playing their best.

When searching for a deal on soccer gear, comparing products to one another will give the consumer a better idea of what it is that they are paying for. Looking at the materials used to make the equipment, how it fits, durability, if the gear will withstand washing, and whether or not the soccer player could actually play soccer with ease while using that particular gear, are all important factors to pay attention to.

Beginners, and those who are not as familiar with the game of soccer, may not realize that there really is much to the game than a ball and a net. Other forms of soccer gear such as shin guards, cleats, uniforms, practice equipment, and so forth are just as important to the game of soccer as simply having the required ten players on each team, a ball and a net. <bio>Dana Bradley writes about http://www.SportsTeamFanHeaven.com, Sport Coupon Codes and Football Coupons. </bio>

If you're looking for ways to improve soccer skills individually, you've come to the right place. I know that soccer team practice sometimes just isn't enough if you want to become great. Just take a look at most of the great soccer players in activity. They always say that they spend a lot of hours off-pitch improving their soccer skills, which makes them so good in matches. But simply training after hours isn't enough, you need to train intelligently, after a rigorous program.

-Best Ways to Improve Soccer Skills =96 DVD Programs

There's a lot of these babies around the Internet these days, so if you're planning on buying a DVD program for individual soccer practice, make sure it's a serious author that created it and it's not some lame compilation of soccer highlights with subtitles saying "Do this and you'll be great".

A quality DVD program is a great way to improve soccer skills, because it allows a certain level of interactivity to your learning. It's not like learning from a TV show, because with DVD's you can go straight to the chapter that interests you, you can go back and review stuff over and over again until you get the picture.

-Best Ways to Improve Soccer Skills =96 Skill Focusing

If you notice that there's a certain area in your game that isn't on par with your other skills, focus on it to get it on level terms. Having an unbalanced skill set is extremely damaging to your game. For example, you could be very fast and strong, but if you don't have good ball control, you won't be able to use your physical skills for anything.

Same goes with players that are extremely technical but very weak on their feet, so improving your soccer skills in a balanced way is best. Also, you could focus on your best skill not your worst one. Are you a good long range shooter? Make that your trademark. Practice long shots over and over again and your teammates will soon know that they need to create space for your shots and you'll be able to score more often. You could also make a trademark of your heading, your passing, your set pieces and so forth.

-Best Ways to Improve Soccer Skills =96 Variation

Never allow a particular exercise or drill become boring routine, or you risk entering a stalemate with your soccer skills. Whatever you're practicing, go for alternative techniques. For example, if you're practicing dribbling, don't just focus on a single type of dribble, effective as it may be. You will need to have a varied repertoire of dribbles if you want to stand up to your different adversaries.

In conclusion, you will probably want to combine these three methods, not just use them separately. Use a DVD program to cover the theoretical aspects of your practice and use the other two as practical methods of getting your skills up. You should be gaining an edge in no time! <bio>Niv Orlian is the author and the owner of http://www.soccer-fans-info.com, a website that provides info on various topics related to soccer.
The main objective when playing the game of soccer is to score a goal in the opposing teams' net and bypassing the goalie. This skill requires a great deal of practice, and a certain portion of muscle training and memory that needs to be acquired over time. With the proper soccer training gear, this goal can be accomplished, while improving other aspects of a player's soccer skills as well.

New technology in the field of sports training is constantly improving and expanding, but growing as a player ultimately comes down to the fundamentals and repetition. One soccer training device eliminates much of the time spent on retrieving out-of-play balls, allowing practice to become easier as a solo activity, rather than having a constant need to either chase balls yourself, or have a partner do it for you. This simple training device allows more time to be spent on practicing the basics of kicking, and goal placement.

Strength and endurance is another key aspect for all players to possess in order to be optimal soccer players, since a great majority of the 45 minute halves is spent running up and down the soccer field. The ability to outrun an opponent is crucial, and another soccer training device can aide players in doing just that. A rubber band-like cord that ties around the athletes waste, and is secured into the ground, offers resistance training and explosiveness when it comes to racing an opponent on the soccer field.

For some of the skills necessary to become an improved soccer player, training gear may not even be necessary. Going back to the skills learned as a child when first taught how to play the game of soccer, may be some of the best training equipment one can have. Practicing juggling and controlling the ball, quick feet to ball movements, and even just dribbling the ball while running can be some of the best training gear an athlete can have. The saying goes "Practice makes perfect", but essentially, it's more along the lines that "Practice make permanent". Repetition and control over the soccer ball without even having to think about it is what will make anyone a better soccer player. <bio>Dana Bradley writes about http://www.teamlogoandgear.com/Coupons/Pro%20Sports%20Memorabilia.html and http://www.teamlogoandgear.com/Coupons/FansEdge.com.html </bio>

Getting technical skill can only be done through a lot of practise and repetition of various soccer drills. Whilst teamwork and tactics play a huge part in the way a tem plays, the teams performance will be limited based on the technical ability of the players and the level of skill that players have.

The basic skills that are required for soccer player are:

* Ball Control
* Dribbling
* Passing
* Shooting
* Heading
* Defending
* Goalkeeping

To ensure that you have good soccer skills, a great deal of practice is required to develop good soccer skills a great deal of practice and commitment is required. The key to developing great soccer skills is repetition. I recommend that players do at least 30 minutes a day of solid practice to develop these skills, including juggling a soccer ball to ensure that their technical ability is of an adequate standard.

Tactics and formations

Teamwork is vital in playing soccer and having a good understanding of how to get into goal scoring positions and conversely how a team can defend against the opposition requires an intimate knowledge of the game and of how to get players to play using different soccer formations.

Soccer Fitness

Being Fit for Soccer does have a major impact on how to play soccer. I was in a team once that had limited technical ability compared with the majority of teams in our league, but guess what we were runners up in the league purely because we were the fittest team in the league and often won games in the dying minutes, because we were fit enough to "run the opposition off their legs". So never underestimate the impact that fitness will have on your game.

Rules of Soccer

There are various forms of soccer, ranging from micro soccer (3 a side) to the standard game of 11 a side. FIFA are the worldwide governing body for soccer, and it is FIFA who control the laws of the game that dictate how to play soccer from a rules perspective. Understanding the laws of the game does have a bearing on what you do, and all players should make sure they understand the laws of the game.

A combination of learning the soccer skills described here, team tactics and team formations, soccer fitness and an understanding of the laws of the game constitute the basics of how to play soccer.<bio>Nigel Reed has been involved in soccer during the 60's, 70's and 80's as a player and has been coaching youth soccer in Australia since 2000.
Speed training drills are a key ingredient to a training regiment for any soccer team. Almost all professional soccer clubs utilize speed training drills. Soccer speed training is just that essential. There are many different drills for speed training. Speed training drills can also be very fun for players.

Keeping practice fun is a challenge for any coach of any soccer team. Its challenging for the coaches of little children leagues and even for professional leagues. The key is to training your players with the best tools that are available and will continue to attract players to the practices.

If practice can be fun for players they will be more willing to participate in the practice. if they are willing to participate they will be more likely to give their all to their practice and training regiments. The fact that the players are more likely to give more in practice also translates to giving more on the field.

A soccer team must utilize practice and speed training in order to be successful. Speed is something that is learned and also something that is easily forgotten. If you are not constantly training your body and your brain to utilize its full extent in terms of speed it will not be capable of handling speed bursts to their full ability.

The key to speed is in teaching the body how it needs to operate in order to function at its highest speed. And after teaching your body how to function then you must ensure that you are constantly reminding your body how to function at those levels and constantly pushing your body to further levels above and beyond what you know. This will ensure a great soccer club and ensure that the players are at their peak physical fitness and refinement.

If you look at any professional soccer clubs you will see that those that are successful have fast players. The forwards are fast, their defense is fast, and most importantly their midfield is fast. Having fast players is a key ingredient to having a great team. Great teams can be founded on skill and knowledge of the game. But if they do not have the speed in order to carry out the skill and knowledge of the game they will not be able to ever achieve their highest levels. <bio>K.Davis is writing a series of articles on speed and agility training.
Practice is the key to success in soccer and if you look at most of the top players in today's game, they're people who work hard for the skills they show on the pitch, often taking training to levels beyond the team's sessions.

David Beckham said that he spent (and probably still spends) several hours per week beyond training, practicing his brilliant free kicks. Juninho Pernambucano, one of today's best long range snipers practices shots after hours, from various ranges. And don't think that Ronaldinho or Cristiano Ronaldo's superb dribbling skills were all obtained during team practice, they're also the result of long hours spent with the ball outside of the normal program.

So if you're striving to better yourself and become a quality soccer player, it's mandatory that you practice using soccer drills, either individually, pairing up with a teammate, or with a group of friends or teammates. I've prepared 3 fun soccer practice drills for each of these setups, hopefully you'll find them useful in your training plan.

1. Soccer Drill for Individual Practice =96 Juggling

Juggling the ball may not have any accurate use in a match, because you'll rarely (if ever) find yourself the space, time and need to juggle a ball more than twice during a game. However, soccer juggling affects a lot of other base soccer skills and it's also one of the easiest and fun soccer practice drills to try out individually.

Soccer juggling affects your ball control ability, since by constantly keeping the ball in the air, you get to naturally understand how hard or soft the ball needs to be hit in order to control it. In-game, this affects your ability to stop and receive balls, as well as your dribbling skills, which often rely on how well you judge the strength and timing of your touch.

Other skills that soccer juggling has a positive effect on include balance, concentration and the ability to control the ball with both feet. Of all soccer drills for individual practice, juggling has the most benefic effects, so it's well worth saving up a few minutes every day to juggle, either after practice, or even in your back yard.

2. Soccer Practice Drills for Pairs =96 One on One Dribbling

One on one dribbles work especially well when practiced in a pair. During a match, there will be countless occasions where you'll need to take on an opponent one by one and the only way to practice this is with the help of a friend or a teammate.

It's best if your training pair plays on a complementary position, as in someone that you would usually have to dribble against in a match. If you're an attacker or offensive midfielder, you'll want to practice one on ones with a defender, or defensive midfielder. Same concept goes the other way around.

It could also be a good idea to switch sides every now and then. After you play the attacker and try to get the ball past your pair, switch positions so that you're the defender and he has the ball. This allows you to develop your attacking and defensive skills as you practice.

Also, in order to make this soccer practice drills more fun, you could keep a score. Whenever the attacker passes the ball past the defender, he gets a point. If the defender takes the ball away or stops the attack, he gets a point. Whoever reaches 10 points wins and you get to switch sides and start over.

3. Soccer Practice Drills for Groups =96 One Touch Passing

If you can find 3 or more teammates to get this soccer practice drill going, it will soon work out wonders to your passing, ball control and agility skills during matches. Here's how it works (I'll assume you have 5 more teammates to work with):

Split yourselves into 2 groups of 3, aligned face to face at a distance of a few yards. Group A starts, with the first player in the line passing the ball to the first player in Group B. After delivering the pass, the first player in Group A moves to the back of the line. The player in Group B receives the ball and one-touches it back to what should now be the second player in Group A and then moves to the back of his own line.

Do this as fast as possible and as accurate as possible, without needing more than one touch. You can play with different distances between the groups and once you get accustomed to the system, you can try passing the ball in mid-air, without allowing it to touch the ball and without the need for a stop. This is harder, as the passes need to be more accurate in order for the soccer practice drill to work. <bio>Niv Orlian is the author and the owner of http://www.soccer-fans-info.com, a website that provides information on various topics related to soccer.
For soccer aficionados, you can truly show your love for soccer by wearing soccer shirts. This actually separates a particular team from the others. The shirt is also the one that serves as the spice in every soccer game. Many fans are now wearing those soccer shirts to let their favorite teams know that they are well-supported by their adoring fans. One can easily identify on which team you favor through the soccer shirt you are wearing. And because many are now investing on soccer shirts, merchandisers make it a point to produce soccer shirts that not only include the soccer teams and players but one those who buy soccer shirt will notice the exciting designs imprinted in the shirt.

Along with the growth of popularity in soccer, the soccer shirt also continuously transforms. In the early years, soccer shirt used to be made from cotton and are relatively thick as compared to the shirt worn by players and fans. Having thick shirt gives discomfort as the players even the fans wearing it could not freely move. Also, the hot environment could cause excessive sweating. Acknowledging the need for a soccer shirt transformations, soccer teams now come up with better soccer shirt designs. Aside from the better shirt materials, the shirts we enjoy today are now endowed with more vibrant and exciting designs and colors.

Former soccer shirts bore dull colors unlike the ones we have today. Usually the color was white or dark and it can be compared to a polo shirt as it also has collars, laces and even buttons. And because it is now gaining popularity, there has also been a great innovation in these shirts. The exciting soccer shirts are one of the reasons why soccer has made such a big impact among fans. The color, design and materials of the soccer shirt are something that one couldn't resist. The colors of shirts today are more vibrant and the textile used is made with special dry technology material that does not easily stick to the body once it is wet. However, there are still soccer shirts that still incorporate the polo-like design.

The design and color now attracts fans and other consumers to buy soccer shirts to be part of the growing bandwagon in the world of sports. Soccer enthusiasts now buy soccer shirt especially the one with the team they support. The shirt of soccer superstars like Backham, Deco, Henry, and other famous players are usually garnering the highest sales.

Manufacturers of many soccer shirts use different marketing strategies to attract customers in buying their products. As you may notice, you can even find special edition shirts that are triggered to catch the attention of soccer enthusiasts. Aside from this, there are other marketing strategies that are aimed of making more and more sales before the season ends. The popularity of soccer shirts is only a manifestation on how much these fans totally support their soccer team. Therefore, a soccer shirt is not only a simple shirt as it also generates identity.<bio>If you want to find out more, please visit Buy soccer shirt website for more information</bio>

After a weekend of soccer on TV, fans always spend days commenting, arguing and reviewing, especially very good games.
Let's face it, even if you're not much of a soccer player, knowing how to handle a few soccer tricks can mean a world of difference in your friends circle. Improving on your soccer tricks and skills isn't just for impressing your friends and the ladies though. They can also get your match performance to a higher level, because they're surprising and effective.

I can give you a lot of examples on that part: remember when Ronaldinho first started to perform his famous Elastico move? (flicking the ball with his outside of the foot to the left, then quickly cutting it with his inside) Nowadays, a defender that's facing Ronaldinho in a one versus one duel will surely be careful against this move, but when the Brazilian had just invented it, it was extremely surprising and he managed to create havoc whenever his Elastico would work.

I'm not saying you'll be able to perform as well as Ronaldinho after you learn soccer tricks like that, but it can definitely give you a surprising edge in a match situation.

Another great example of soccer tricks and skills that can make a difference is Zidane's 360 spin. Although it's a very effective and simple move, it wasn't until Zizou popularized it that players all over the World actually used it in matches.

So, if you learn soccer tricks, you'll be able to gain an edge on your opponent, but that probably wasn't that hard to figure out anyway. The real question is HOW to do soccer tricks and how to learn them correctly. Here's what I would suggest.

Try to have a step-by-step approach when you learn soccer tricks, categorizing them on difficulty levels. Start with the basic ones, move on to advanced moves and once you get both these categories well under your boot, try out those special few that are extremely hard to master.

Obviously, if you're practicing these moves by yourself, or with the help of a friend, you'll be able to perform them with no or little resistance, which is rarely the case in a real match (and if there's no resistance, why would you perform them in a match anyway?). So besides practicing the actual move, you'll also have to work on the timing of your soccer tricks and skills.

A couple of basic moves could include: the Zidane 360 spin, the stop and go, the Puskas V-move or the fake shot dribble.

Under the advanced category, you could try the Cruyff move, the stepover and double stepover or the Scotch.

Moves that are quite difficult to master and are better off left for last, include: Ronaldinho's Elastico move, the "Brazilian" rainbow move or the Van Persie sweep.

Start off with the basic ones and practice them thoroughly, until you feel you've mastered these soccer tricks. Of course, when you move on to the advanced moves, these will take a lot longer to get a solid grip over, but you will have had already built some basic ball control skills from the basic dribble.

More difficult dribbles like the Elastico, or the rainbow kick will take a while to get a grip on, but don't get discouraged if you keep failing on executing them! With enough practice, there's no trick that you won't be able to handle. The only thing that kills learning a specific trick is saying "I can't do this" and cutting it off your list. <bio>Niv Orlian is the author and the owner of http://www.soccer-fans-info.com, a website that provides information on various topics related to soccer.
Although soccer is not THE sport in the US, the history of soccer in US is one of the longest around, right next to that of the English or the Scottish.

After the English set out to form a set of rules for the game of soccer, these were soon taken to the new World, where Americans learned to love this rising sport, right next to another game that grew strong roots in the US back then: baseball. Actually, the American Football Association is the second oldest sports league in America, after the Major League Baseball one.

Obviously, the history of soccer in US didn't start with a professional league though (in terms of what we call professional today). The American Football Association, started out in 1884, was a semi-professional competition involving New England and some Midwest areas and it was a rather chaotic environment to play soccer in, but nevertheless it was there and progressing with each year.

A parallel soccer organization, the American Amateur Football Association was founded around the same time and the two coexisted until 1913, when they merged into the US Football Association, the first fully professional soccer organization throughout the history of soccer in the US.

The US football association (or USFA) was one of the first to join FIFA and as such, the United States team participated in the early World Cups, although the game was beginning to become outshined by baseball or basketball.

With American football also on the rise, the organization adopted a new name to avoid any confusion and called itself the US Soccer Football Association. However, the US soccer history would soon witness a new change in its governing body's name in 1974, when the USSFA dropped "Football" from its tag and instead adopted the title of United States Soccer Federation, which is still used today.

So many will wonder, if the history of soccer in US starts out so early, how come soccer is not the main sport in USA? Well the truth is that the rather modest performances from the men's national side early on in the 20th century, combined with the high rise of baseball, basketball, football and hockey, meant that the nation soon lost interest in soccer and since American kids had so many alternatives, soccer slowly went out of fashion.

However, with the increasingly good performances from the US men's soccer team and the huge success of the women's soccer team (who managed to bring in the first trophies in the history of soccer in US and is still one of the world powers in the game today), soccer is climbing back to its rightful place and with more and more American kids favoring it in school as a start-up sport, things look bright for the future of US soccer. <bio>Niv Orlian is the author and the owner of http://www.soccer-fans-info.com a website that provides information on various topics related to soccer.
Goals are the salt and pepper of soccer and they can only be scored by either shooting, or heading the ball. Heading the ball is an unnatural process, whereas kicking the ball is quite a natural "need" that humans have, deep down. How many times have you walked on the street and instinctively kicked a leaf, or some small rock, just for the heck of it?

Now, how many times have you walked on the street and started hitting your head against solid objects? I hope not a lot. So heading is a lot harder to train, because we have to fight against our own natural fear of hitting our head against an object. That's why soccer shooting drills are so much more diverse and common in training sessions. Let's take a look at the different types of shooting drills.

-Soccer Shooting Drills =96 Static Positions

Static position soccer shooting drills refer to the player's position, not the ball (although in the case of free kicks, both the ball and the player are static). Free kicks are very helpful for your players in training their shot accuracy and usually they are used for just that, instead of being a means to get your shot power trained. You could try having all your players execute free kicks, or just select a handful that you noticed are better at this role and form them as specialists in free kicks.

The other way you can practice soccer shooting drills in a static position is by having one player in the center, receiving passes from the sides and shooting, without moving towards the ball. This simulates a match scenario that occurs quite often, with a striker or a central midfielder having to shoot the ball with a single touch from a static position, because he has no space to move around, or no time to do so.

-Soccer Shooting Drills =96 Dynamic Positions

There's a wider array of soccer drills for shooting that can be practiced from dynamic positions, than from static ones. One of the most popular is the run-and-shoot: have your players positioned in a line at the center of the pitch and send a keeper in the goal. Now, have each player sprint with the ball at his feet up to a certain point that you decide (place a cone as a visual marker), then cannon a shot to goal from there.

If you want to practice long range shots, you'll obviously have them shooting for far away, whereas if you want more finishing accuracy, you will have your players shoot from the edge of the box, or even inside it.

A slight variation of the run and shoot soccer drill is the wall-and-shoot. Basically, you'll have the same setup, with the players at half court and a goalkeeper guarding the net of one of the goals, but you will also have a player somewhere near the penalty area, who will act as a wall passer for your incoming players. So a player will sprint with the ball, when he is close to the wall passer he initiates a one-two and shoots the ball in full-on sprint, as soon as he receives it back.

After a while, the above mentioned soccer drills for shooting tend to get repetitive, so you might want to dig up some more, or simply create variations of these. You can work around the dynamic position ones and create new drills of your own. <bio>Niv Orlian is the author and the owner of http://www.soccer-fans-info.com, a website that provides information on various topics related to soccer.
Unlike other sports today, soccer has a solid reputation as a fun and worthwhile sport hence it has an endless pool of fans from all around the world. The Spanish, European, and the English teams are enjoying the top positions as among the most sought after and best soccer teams in today's generation. Watching soccer will always put you at the edge of your seat as its adrenaline rush and excitement are beyond compare. Because soccer is considered as one of the most poplar sports today, even the amateur and regular soccer enthusiasts are playing this sport for their recreation and hobby.

The popularity of soccer as a competitive sport prompts business-minded people to create different sports merchandise like the soccer shirts. Upon the introduction of this merchandise in the market, it drives a large number of people from buying this product. Wearing these shirts during soccer games would show your support and loyalty to your favorite soccer team.

These soccer shirts can endow the wearer a sportier look. But just like other clothing you buy, make sure that your soccer shirt will fit your size to provide a free movement. Also, it is important that the shirt is made from comfortable materials to keep you suffering discomfort while watching the game. Also, comfortable soccer shirt can provide you too much pleasure as you don't have to mind the scorching heat of the sun while watching your favorite sport.
Learning to how to juggle a soccer ball takes a lot of time and practice, is very entertaining to watch and appreciate someone with great soccer ball juggling skills, but why do players bother?

Well there are two reasons, the first is that it is fun and challenging, and learning a new juggling move, or beating your previous record is something that you can do on your own, in a small space and you only need a ball! When you can finally keep the ball in the air get past the elusive 100 barrier, you will have kept yourself entertained for some time and have great bragging rights over your friends.

The second reason why you should learn how to juggle a soccer ball is more soccer related and is that being able to juggle a soccer ball, whilst not used a lot in a soccer game is the best way to improve that your first touch and give you confidence when you are receiving the soccer ball. As a player, you are often in one of two situations.

1 You do not have the ball
2. You have the ball.

The transition between 1 and 2 is why learning how to juggle is important and that is when you are receiving the ball.
When you receive a soccer ball from a team mate, your main concern is:

"What am I going to do next?"

This decision should be made prior to actually receiving the ball, and so you should know what you are going to do with the ball, and more importantly what position you want you body to be in and where you want the ball to be after receiving the ball, and that is exactly where juggling will help you!
So, lets learn how to juggle a soccer ball.

STEP 1
1.	Use a slightly deflated ball
2.	Start juggling on a hard smooth surface, one with a nice even bounce
3.	Hold the ball with both hands, arms extended at chest height
4.	Drop the ball and let it bounce once
5.	Before it bounces again, kick the ball back to chest height and catch it

There, you have done your first juggle, now on to bigger and better things
The sequence that you just did was called "drop-bounce-kick-catch "

Keep practicing Step 1 using both feet until you can consistently kick the ball back to chest height

STEP 2
You will do a similar exercise to step one, but this time the sequence is
"drop-bounce-kick-bounce-kick-catch "
That's right, all we have done is increase the number of kicks to 2 using the same foot
Keep practicing Step 2 until you can do it consistently.

STEP 3
We are now at the stage where we should be able to repeat the "kick-bounce-kick" sequence as many times as possible.
We will continue as we did in Step 1 and Step 2, but this time

Try to kick the ball to the same height that it was dropped from
Stay within a square that is 5 yards by 5 yards

STEP 4
Now for something a bit more challenging
We will repeat Step 1, but this time we do not let the ball bounce, so the sequence is "drop-kick-catch"

Keep practicing Step 4 using both feet until you can consistently kick the ball back to chest height

STEP 5
You guessed it, Step 5 is similar to Step 4, but with an extra kick, so the sequence is "drop-kick-kick-catch "

Keep practicing Step 5 using both feet until you can consistently kick the ball back to chest height

STEP 6
You are now ready to do unlimited kicks, using one foot at a time,
So you just repeat the "kick-kick" sequence.

At this stage you should only use one foot at time. That is to say see how many you can do using only you right foot, and then see how many you can do using your left foot.

JUGGLING PRACTICE
As well as using your feet, you should also include other parts of the body, such as the thigh and the head. When using the thigh, make sure you use the fleshy part of the thigh and NOT your knee.
You will probably find that the thigh is overused, because the thigh is an easier part of the body to juggle with, so try to avoid overusing the thigh, just because it easier.

USE A PATTERN
Rather than aimlessly juggling, using patterns is a far better way to improve, so use patterns like
1.	Left foot
2.	Left thigh
3.	Head
4.	Right thigh
5.	Right foot
6.	Repeat 1 to 5

Try making up your own patterns, as it is far more beneficial to follow a pattern, that to just chase a ball around, trying to keep it in the air.

Keep up the juggling practice and you will definitely improve your first touch.<bio>Nigel Reed has been involved in soccer during the 60's, 70's and 80's as a player and has been coaching youth soccer in Australia since 2000.Nigels main soccer webite has detailed information on Youth Soccer Formations as well as a number of Free Soccer DrillsGood luck with your coaching</bio>

Many times as the kids are playing soccer, the mom's get together on the sidelines and talk while the dad's do the same. Several of the same topics come up with both groups but nothing is ever done about any of their complaint. Complaints such as loosing weight, organizing the house and families schedules, planning family vacations and how to raise money for new uniforms are just a few of the topics that may arise during the sideline talk at the soccer games.

A lot of soccer moms want to loose weight and that can be hard when you are always busy taking the kids to their soccer games, feeding the family and organizing different events for both your family and perhaps the school or church or even the soccer club. One way to start loosing weight is to get the rest of the soccer moms together and start an exercise program during the soccer games. Usually the soccer games the children are playing are at a field in the park or a school that would have a walking track. Walking is one of the best ways to begin to loose weight and see significant results with little effort. Plus, it's the perfect time to be exercising while your children are getting in their exercise on the soccer field, you and the other soccer moms can be walking around the track or park trails getting in a good workout rather than simply sitting there waiting for the children.

When the soccer season is over, the soccer moms can continue their quest for fitness by joining the YMCA or a fitness center where they can keep on walking or try other methods of exercises. Many fitness centers, especially the local YMCA, have swimming pools and water aerobics which are great exercises because they are low impact on the joints such as knees and hips.

Exercising with friends or another soccer mom will help with your motivation and studies show when you exercise with a partner, you will not give up as quickly as you would when you exercise alone, especially if you have joined a gym or other fitness center. Having someone to talk with and compete with will motivate you to remain in the exercise program even if it's not an actual structured program.

There are other programs in which you can bring your children along with you such as the 'mommy and me' programs offered at many of the YMCA's and fitness centers. This is a great opportunity for soccer mom's to show their children that exercise extends past the soccer field and needs to continue in order to lead a strong and healthy lifestyle.

As a soccer mom in an exercise program you are teaching your children the value of exercise by your example and that they need to continue the exercise they learned during warm-ups on the soccer field before games. There are certain exercises for soccer and then there are exercises for weight loss for the soccer moms. Walking is only one exercise that can be shared with your children.<bio>Visha Lopez is the owner and head networking soccer mom at the popular website momvoice.com.
The game of soccer is a team sport, which allows for team conformity and sportsmanship. These characteristics are shown through not only encouragement on the field, but through similarities in soccer gear throughout the team as well. Team uniforms are not only mandatory, but they show a sense of unity in a sport made up of individuals. The soccer cleats that the players wear allow them to continue to be team players through all sorts of weather and terrain, as the game of soccer is played indoors, outdoors, and in rain or shine.

Having a pair of soccer cleats that fit a player well is quite possibly one of the most crucial items one can have when it comes to soccer gear. Not only should the shoe fit well in the length of the size, it should also fit comfortably in width. If the size of the soccer cleat feels comfortable, it's important to next check whether or not the shoe is flexible. When soccer cleat is on, as well as off the foot, it should bend and move easily and comfortably, allowing for comfortable mobility.

Different brands of soccer manufacturers make different variations of soccer cleats, as well as indoor shoes. The cleats found on the sole of the shoe can vary in size and position, and in some cases can be changed out when they become worn, and to play on different types of turf. Prices of soccer cleats can vary drastically between a cheap pair and an expensive pair, but it's truly the quality of the shoe and how it fits the player that should determine which pair is the right one for them.

There are three main variations of outdoor soccer cleats. The first one is Firm Ground. The soles of this shoe consist of a wide variety of cleats that are located around the edges of the shoe, as well as some in the middle of the shoe for heightened foot support. The firm ground style of soccer cleats are typically the most common shoe among soccer players, and enable the players to move with ease on most soccer fields.

The second variation of soccer shoe is the Soft Ground shoe, which contains the smallest amount of cleats on the sole of the shoe. This type of soccer shoe is generally worn when the playing conditions are wet and slippery since the absence of cleats allows the grass and mud to slide off the sole of shoe rather than getting caught.

The third most common variation of soccer shoe is the Hard Ground shoe. This type of shoe contains the most amounts of cleats on the sole of the shoe out of any other soccer shoe made. This style of soccer shoe is the lowest fitting and gives the most support to the foot out of the three most common types of soccer shoes. The Hard Ground shoe is often used for playing on artificial turf, and many of the soccer referees wear this type of shoe. <bio>Dana Bradley writes about http://www.nbagearshop.com,http://www.nflgearshop.com and http://www.teamlogoandgear.com </bio>

The soccer shoes, known also as soccer boots are a very important part of the uniform and the game. As player's costumes have changed so much since the early days of the game, soccer boots have been through surprisingly few design changes in the last seventy years.

The evolution of boot development has been a conflict between protection from the climate and injury; against the freedom of limb movement to perform better. The improvement of the player's fitness has had a positive spin on soccer shoe development but these changes surprisingly appear to be more stylistic than anything else.

As soccer has become more glamorous the look has become more important than the desire to play better or decrease injury rates. It appears from the published literature there have been more injuries caused by soccer shoe innovations than appear to be resolved by new designs.

In the early years, soccer shoes were generally black and with higher cuts than the ones used today. The design evolutions of the shoes have become part of the game and as much an important item as the shorts or socks and almost as popular as the jerseys.

Players use special and customized soccer shoes made especially for them. The more significant changes to the shoes were that in the modern days the cut is lower, the color has changed. The shoes have become more comfortable and pretty much lighter than the old ones.

The old shoes were made out of leather with wooden cleats and leather soles. The newer soccer shoes are made out of leather or synthetic material, plastic or rubber soles and the cleats can be plastic, rubber, aluminum and even rubber or plastic and with the end made out of aluminum.

Some of the soccer shoes have changed the place of the laces and put them on the side of the shoes and some don't even have laces anymore. It is said that the change in the laces was so you could kick with more accuracy.

Players and soccer shoe manufacturers also use the shoes for marketing purposes, with special edition shoes, different color shoes, even autographed shoes. There are infinite different colors for soccer shoes. From plain black to golden with special details, or with, two, three even four colors combined.

Comfort is a very important issue for the soccer shoes. A pair of uncomfortable soccer shoes can cause serious blistering. Usually new soccer shoes need to be broken in so that they adapt to the format of the foot to prevent the blisters.

However, with new technologies, comfort is constantly improving and eventually one will be able to put a new pair of soccer shoes on, play a game and not have any blisters.

Even though the design of the soccer shoes hasn't changed much in the last seventy years, the design is quite different from the first soccer shoes. Technology has changed the feel of the shoes and the weight of these that were once very heavy.

For good playing, soccer depends a lot on the quality of the soccer shoes worn. Professional and amateur players love to be different by using an uncommon color and designed soccer shoes. <bio>Get all the latest in Soccer know how from the one and only true source at http://www.SoccerDetails.com.
We all know that the push pass is the most used pass in soccer, but how can you get younger players to practice the push pass ina away that is competitive and keeps them amused.

Well I stumbled across this drill somewhere and tried it in last weeks session session that I had. This drill is best suited for younger players, and they seem to have loads of fun with it.

Divide your players into pairs and give each player in the pair a number ie either 1 or 2.

(Each pair should have a ball)

Get all the number 1's in a line standing about 3 yards apart.

Have all the number 2 players opposite their partner and facing their partner.

(The distance between the 1's and their 2 partner should be about 10 yards)

So the formation should like like this:

1 1 1 1 1

2 2 2 2 2

Now you get two other players, one at either end of the tunnel to pass a ball up and down the tunnel formed by the 1's and 2's

In my session I was at the end and I got another parent who can pass the ball accurately to be at the other end. The two players at either end have to be able to pass the ball accurately for about 20 yards.

As the ball is going through the tunnel, the players with the ball try to hit the ball with a pass.

If they hit the ball they get 3 points

If they miss the ball, but the ball goes to their partner they get 1 point

If they miss the ball and the ball goes wide of their partner into another pairs lane then they get 0 points

It is important that the players try and pass the ball to their partner in a way that the partner can receive the ball easily. ie the must pass the ball straight across the tunnel to their partner.

My under 9 team played this game for about 20 minutes and had a great time. It is a great way to improve accuracy and the weight of a pass, and the competitive nature makes it fun for players, so give it a go!

Before you get you players practising this drill, it is important to get them using the correct technique for a push pass. This may take some time, but and easy way to show kids the correct technique is get get keeling down and holding a ball. Then using a slow motion action, kick the ball using the push pass technique. that is using the inside of the foot. After the players have seen how to do this, get them to do it themselves under your supervision to make sure that they get the correct technique.

When doing this, it is important to make sure that their hands are not near the kicking area. I have used this tecnique a number of times, inclusing with my six year old son, and he now has a great kicking action and deadly accurate push pass.<bio>Nigel Reed has been involved in soccer during the 60's, 70's and 80's as a player and has been coaching youth soccer in Australia since 2000.
Soccer fans have found that they can accomplish more through the internet when the task pertains to their enjoyment of soccer than might be possible if they were right outside a soccer field. Of course, having a seat for a soccer match would truly bring out the intense pleasure derived from the sport but soccer fans have more to do with their time than waste it waiting in lines to buy soccer gear at sporting events. They prefer to buy their tickets and soccer gear through an online retailer and use the extra time on their hands to watch matches and have fun.

There is a good opportunity for soccer fans to go shopping online when people want to buy soccer shirts would normally be worn only by players on their favorite soccer team. Some of the soccer shirts found through online auction houses though could be worth a considerable sum to owners of certain pieces of soccer gear. Some fans really admire the prowess that a certain soccer player exhibits on the playing field, and want to own something that was actually worn by the player and will pay good money to own it.

There are many bargains to be found on soccer gear and people prefer to sell their items online rather than through a storefront shop in a city location. Some people might spend money placing ads in local newspapers for the collectible soccer gear that they own. There are places on the internet though that host free ads and allow people to transact business throughout the year for one low price. This type of advertising is very affordable and fun to use and people have a great opportunity to meet others that have the same interests in life too.

Other fans might have other motives in mind when they visit the internet in the interest of soccer products. Fans have more options when buying soccer tickets online than they ever could when buying them through retailers in a city. The internet ticket outlets for soccer give customers the opportunity to linger over seat choices for as long as they need to in order to find seats that will fit everybody's needs. Some like seats with more height and others might want to be closer to the action on the field.

When soccer fans want to find out what the soccer schedule is for a team, they simply have to consult the sports scoreboard listings on many internet sports new agency sites. Major League Soccer games occur in many parts of the United States and are shown on sports networks as live new casts and other soccer games are recorded so fans can view them when they have more time on their hands to enjoy the game properly.

There are many opportunities through the internet for the fans to converse and exchange their opinions about the current events occurring in soccer. Some of the topics might include discussions about behind the scene action that will affect the way contracts are negotiated in the future and what the rules will be for soccer in the coming seasons. People enjoy viewing the podcasts that center around Major League Soccer and that is only available through the internet. <bio>James Brown writes about http://www.sportfootwearstore.com </bio>
