<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Before you head out on the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/slopes" rel="tag">slopes</a>, you should take the time to check all of your equipment to make sure that it is working properly. This includes checking your snowboard to make sure that the bindings are secure and that there are many ridges on the bottom of the board that could get caught on <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/rough+patches" rel="tag">rough patches</a>. Oiling the board before you take it out will help reduce friction and allow you to have a safe ride on most snow conditions. If you will be snowboarding with a group of people, you should make sure that their snowboards are in good working condition as well. <br /><br /> When snowboarding with others, you should agree on a meeting place and time. This is important when snowboarding in a new place. Safety in <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cold+weather" rel="tag">cold weather</a> does save lives. Meeting a few hours after you begin <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/will+ensure+that" rel="tag">will ensure that</a> everyone is safe. You should snowboard in teams if possible. While you should not snowboard when there are many people skiing and snowboarding, you should try to find slopes that have other people on them. They will be able to help in case you are injured and need medical assistance. <br /><br /> Make sure your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboard+boots" rel="tag">snowboard boots</a> are functioning properly before you go outside. Make sure all the buckles are working and that they are not too tight or too loose. If your boots do not fit properly, then you may fall while on your board. You can twist your ankle or break your leg if it gets turned the wrong way. Checking all equipment is important, but you should pay particular attention to your boots. If you don't think your boots are suitable, you can rent some for the day. <br /><br /> <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboard+bindings" rel="tag">Snowboard bindings</a> are used to keep your feet planted on your board. If they are loose, you could injure yourself. Replace any bindings before you go on your trip. This will help reduce the risk of injury. Snowboarding requires you to jump, slide, and turn quickly. You will not be able to do any of these things if your bindings do not work. <br /><br /> When packing for your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding+trip" rel="tag">snowboarding trip</a>, you will have to remember to bring enough warm clothing, hats, gloves, and snowboard goggles so that you will be warm. Goggles will help you see where you are going and will prevent you from injuring your eyes. When snowboarding, it is important to always know where you are going. Being able to see will reduce your risk of being injured. <br /><br /> When you have checked all of your snowboarding equipment, you will be ready to go on your trip. Checking your equipment right before you head out will help to keep you even safer so that you will be able to have a fun trip. <bio>Carl Deveraux is a freelance editor for Snowboard Cabin Snowboards. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Do you love winter? Or, more importantly, do you love spending time in the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cold+winter+weather" rel="tag">cold winter weather</a>? If so, and you are looking for a great new activity to try this winter, consider snowboarding. <br /><br /> For many people, the idea of snowboarding sounds dangerous, like it was only for crazy teenage boys. The idea of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/skiing" rel="tag">skiing</a> down a large hill or mountain sounds scary enough and the idea of doing it with a snowboard sounds too hard to be tried. If these are your thoughts, you should think again. Whether you have been skiing for years or if you have never made it down a winter mountain, snowboarding can be a great way to spend winter days. <br /><br /> If you have been a skier and are thinking of branching out into the world of snowboarding, congratulations. The best advice I can give you is to be patient. Because snowboarding is similar to skiing and yet very different, some people who ski well will find that snowboarding comes naturally and quickly while others will find the learning process grueling and frustrating. Stick with it because eventually the tricks of snowboarding can come to almost anyone. <br /><br /> If you have never been a skier, have no fear. Having a skiing background is not always necessary or even <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/beneficial" rel="tag">beneficial</a> in learning <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding+skills" rel="tag">snowboarding skills</a>. You, a non-ski expert, may actually pick up the techniques of snowboarding much easier than your skier friends. After some time you may find that snowboarding <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/fits+you" rel="tag">fits you</a> like a glove. <br /><br /> Allow me to offer a couple of words of advice to anyone, ski expert or not, that desires to enter the world of snowboarding. First, do not expect to jump on a board and pick up the skill all on your own. Most people will benefit greatly from taking <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding+lessons" rel="tag">snowboarding lessons</a> at least to learn the basics of the sport. So do not hesitate to sign yourself up for a lesson or two before you head out to the slopes. <br /><br /> A second and perhaps more important piece of advice is simple: rent. Resist that temptation to run out and buy the latest board and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding+gear" rel="tag">snowboarding gear</a> just to look like a seasoned pro on the slopes. On your first few times out you should rent equipment and take the time to learn what kinds of boards best meet your needs. By renting you can avoid making a costly mistake that will leave you frustrated later. <br /><br /> So, whether you have been skiing for years or not, when winter comes around again make the choice to learn a new skill. Who knows, snowboarding could fast become your favorite source of winter fun. <bio>Martin Stoleman loves to write about all of his favorite sports and activities. <content:encoded><![CDATA[So, you're planning a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/skiing" rel="tag">skiing</a> or <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding+trip" rel="tag">snowboarding trip</a>. You have your travel and lodging plans all set up, but have you gotten your equipment yet? While buying your own equipment may be more convenient, it's also a lot more expensive. If you have never been skiing before, you may want to consider renting in case you find you don't like it. You can always buy equipment the next time you go. Renting also makes it affordable for people who can't spend hundreds of dollars to buy equipment. Plus, you won't have to lug all the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/extra+baggage" rel="tag">extra baggage</a> on the plane or in the car. If you have children, you know how quickly kids can grow out of their clothes. When you rent, you don't have to buy your kids new equipment every year or two when they grow out of the old stuff.<br /><br /><br /><br /> Once you've decided to rent equipment, you should make sure to reserve it well before you take your trip. This is especially important if you're going during <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/peak+season" rel="tag">peak season</a>. If you wait until you get there, you may have to do a lot of searching to find appropriate sizes and equipment. You definitely want to make reservations if you're renting <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding+equipment" rel="tag">snowboarding equipment</a>. Snowboarding has greatly increased in popularity and many stores haven't caught up with demand.<br /><br /><br /><br /> You will probably have a choice of renting equipment at the mountain, or from other stores in the area. At certain resorts where there's not much of a town you should probably rent at the mountain. At other resorts, you may have many other <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/rental+options" rel="tag">rental options</a>. The benefit of renting elsewhere is that you'll probably get a better price.<br /><br />If you're only renting for one day, the mountain will probably be more convenient because you won't have to carry equipment as far.<br /><br /><br /><br /> If you decide to rent at the mountain, you should arrive an hour before you plan to ski or snowboard. This will <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/give+you+time" rel="tag">give you time</a> to get your equipment and get fitted. If you rent elsewhere, it's best to get the equipment the day before you go out. This way, you'll be able to find other accommodations if they do not have the appropriate equipment. When you get there, you should be ready ahead of time with everyone's shoe sizes, heights, and weights. While some people may want to fudge on their weight, you should be honest. The type of equipment you need depends on your weight. If you give the wrong weight, you may be risking your own safety. If you have a very large shoe size, you should make sure the shop you rent from has the right size boots. If not, you should buy equipment online before you show up. You should ask the shop before you do this; you may be able to buy boots that fit their equipment.<br /><br /><br /><br /> When you get ready to sign the contract for your equipment, they will offer you insurance on the equipment. SAY YES! While your chance damaging the equipment is probably fairly low, it's still a great idea. Cost for insurance is generally about a dollar a day. That's 3 or 4 dollars per trip. Compare this to the hundreds of dollars you could pay to fix damage to skis or a snowboard. And that's nothing compared to the cost if you completely ruin the equipment. You should also remember that it doesn't take that much to damage equipment. A mountain is covered in snow when you ski on it, but under that snow are rocks and branches. If the snow cover is thin on a mountain, you risk hitting these objects and you generally can't see them to avoid them.<br /><br /><br /><br /> Hopefully these tips will help you get the right equipment and get you to the mountain. Have a great trip! <bio>Gray Rollins is a featured writer for two ski resort websites. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ When you hit the mountain on your first <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/skiing" rel="tag">skiing</a> or <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding+trip" rel="tag">snowboarding trip</a> there are a lot of things on your mind. Are you going to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/embarrass" rel="tag">embarrass</a> yourself out there? Will you learn quickly enough? Most of all, you're likely excited over how much fun you're about to have. However, it's important to keep in mind that skiing and snowboarding are sports filled with equipment, starkly colder weather, and the spending of money. So, on your first trip up the mountain, be sure to have the right equipment with you to ensure you are ready. <br /><br /> Everything you wear should be waterproof. You might have decided at the last minute to go on that ski weekend with your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/classmates" rel="tag">classmates</a>, but you need to pick up or borrow something to wear other than your cotton sweater and long johns. If you don't wear the proper waterproofed gear you're going to be very cold, very wet, and very unhappy by the end of your first afternoon on the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/slopes" rel="tag">slopes</a>. Don't get sick right away. It's not a good way to commemorate your first skiing trip. <br /><br /> Food is very important when skiing or snowboarding. You'll be using a lot of energy up very quickly and you likely will not notice as you have the time of your life doing it. You should have <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/energy+bars" rel="tag">energy bars</a> or trail mix on you while out on the slopes and remember to feed yourself every couple of hours. It's likely that when you step out there, you won't be back inside for a few hours. In that case you shouldn't be starving when you return. Stay energized. <br /><br /> Right along with forgetting to feed yourself, you might forget to hydrate yourself. While it's cold outside and you're wet, you are still exerting a lot of energy and in the process dehydrating yourself. It's good to have a source of hydration on you at all times when exercising and when on the slopes. It's <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/even+more+important" rel="tag">even more important</a> if only because you'll likely forget you need it. <br /><br /> Bring along some cash and your ID. It might upset you to consider that you'll lose any of it while swapping clothes and sliding down a mountain. However, it's always good to be prepared and unless you live in the mountains, you're likely far from home. If anything goes wrong you should be ready to deal with it. The last thing you need is to get injured and not be identifiable because you left your ID back in the city. <br /><br /> Have your cell phone neatly tucked away on your person if you can manage it. Preferably you will have a nice ski jacket with enough packets to hold all of your cash, ID, food, water, and cell phone. But if not, convince a friend to carry their or your phone on them. Once again, you don't want to think about it, but if something goes wrong it's best to be prepared. <br /><br /> None of these things include the basic equipment you'll need when skiing or snowboarding. These are the essentials that everyone tends to forget, whether it's because they are too excited or simply because they were in a hurry. The important thing to remember is that when you step out on that mountain you need to be prepared for anything, including bad weather, hunger, and thirst. You'll be having too much fun to pay attention to the details, so thinking ahead will go a long way in making sure you're covered by the time the sun goes down. <bio>Tony Brian is a freelance writer for outdoor sports magazines and a contributing writer for milsim gun stocks specializing in snowboarding, skiing, and <a href="http://www.paintball-gun.com" >http://www.paintball-gun.com</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[When buying <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboard" rel="tag">snowboard</a>ing equipment the first item on most minds is the snowboard. So what are the basic 'need to knows' of the snowboard types? <br /><br /> Types of Snowboard: <br /><br /> There are three types of snowboard to consider: <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/freestyle" rel="tag">Freestyle</a>, Freeride(all mountain) and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/alpine" rel="tag">Alpine</a> (carving boards). <br /><br /> Freestyle <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboards" rel="tag">Snowboards</a> <br /><br /> These are wide, stable snowboards that are forgiving to ride. They are very responsive which makes them good equipment used for snowboarding for novices. The snowboard characteristics make them good for pulling tricks but less responsive in high speed carving due to flexibility and edge grip. They are often twin tipped and multi directional making them good for tricks and half pipes but ideal for beginners. <br /><br /> Freeride(all mountain)Snowboards <br /><br /> Generally the most popular snowboard on the slopes. Good for all mountain use, park or half pipe. Freeride snowboards tend to float reasonably well on powder, can carve and can be used to catch air, this make them popular boards. Freeride snowboards tend to be directional, meaning one end (the tip) is wider than the tail. They tend to be soft and manouveurable for beginners but offer enough stiffness for fast carves in harder snow, these boards offer a mix of characteristics between freestyle and alpine snowboards. <br /><br /> Alpine Snowboards <br /><br /> <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/definitely" rel="tag">definitely</a> not for the novice, these snowboards are stiff, narrow, long and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/built+for+speed" rel="tag">built for speed</a>. Built for speed carving and stability at speed with good edge holding powers they tend to be either symmetrical or asymmetrical but always built for one way travel. <br /><br /> Length and Width of Snowboard <br /><br /> Once you have chosen the type of snowboard that best suits your level of competence and ride style there are then several other factors to be considered in your choice of snowboard before buying. <br /><br /> Your height and foot size play an important part in your choice of snowboard. <br /><br /> The length of snowboard that will suit will be down to the riders height and ridestyle. Snowboards are usually 100cms to 180cms long. <br /><br /> A freestyle snowboard should stand tall enough to reach between the riders shoulders and chin when stood on end. <br /><br /> A freeride snowboard should reach between chin and eyebrows. <br /><br /> An alpine or carving snowboard should stand tall enough to reach a point between the forehead and a few inches above the head. <br /><br /> Foot size is important for determining the width of the snowboard. If your feet overhang the board there is a danger of catching an edge and tumbling. If your feet are too small then it is difficult to apply pressure to the edges to initiate turns. If you are an advanced rider using a carving board with big feet it may be necessary to alter your stance to avoid overhanging the edges. <br /><br /> Of course before you buy equipment used for snowboarding you should rent a few snowboards first to see what style, brand best suit you. <bio>John Rodgers writes for <a href="http://www.snowboarding-picture.com" >http://www.snowboarding-picture.com</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[There is possibly nothing more that the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding+enthusiast" rel="tag">snowboarding enthusiast</a> on your Christmas list would like for Christmas than <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboard+equipment" rel="tag">snowboard equipment</a> or accessories. It may surprise you to know that you can purchase some great snowboarding-related gifts for under $500. <br /><br /> Because snowboarding is susceptible to trends and styles fading quickly, it is always best to aim for quality rather what looks cool today. <br /><br /> When considering the purchase of a snowboard, don't be fooled into thinking that you have to pay high prices to get quality. Lower priced snowboards are just as fun to be on, and you might be surprised at their quality. <br /><br /> The following are few of the great snowboards available in the $300 or less range. <br /><br /> The Blunt <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/burton+snowboard" rel="tag">Burton Snowboard</a> <br /><br /> This particular snowboard has a much lower price yet its performance is great. For many seasons, riders have chosen the kink ride because of its durability. <br /><br /> In addition, the kink ride snowboard is mellow enough to let its riders learn a new trick or two while at the same time packing sufficient experience to keep up with many of the advanced snowboard happy riders. <br /><br /> Gnu High Beam Carbon <br /><br /> This snowboard Christmas gift idea comes from the Mike Olsen Company. The people from this company manufacture high-end snowboards. <br /><br /> This particular snowboard carves much like a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboard+racer" rel="tag">snowboard racer</a> and is easy to control in any terrain. The tail and smooth shape of the Gnu high beam carbon actually float thru rips and powder. <br /><br /> Mendenhall option This snowboard Christmas gift idea rocks because it is ready to take on park hits, long handrails, urban terrain without it being too expensive. <br /><br /> Plus, this particular snowboard rides better than some of the expensive snowboards on the market, making them affordable for the average weekend snowboarder. <br /><br /> Team Endeavor <br /><br /> This snowboard company is best known for top of the line snowboards with great graphics. Usually, such a combination mean one thing: very expensive. <br /><br /> However, Team endeavor has created a completely handcrafted board with great graphics at an affordable price. It allows anyone to ride with the maximum style. <br /><br /> Overall, there are many snowboard Christmas gift ideas that fit your budget and preference as long as you know where and what to look for. <bio>For more information on the sport of snowboarding, visit <a href="http://Snowboarding.GettingOutdoors.com" >http://Snowboarding.GettingOutdoors.com</a>. There are currently hundreds of different brands of snowboards and equipment to choose from. <br /><br /> Many ski resorts and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ski+shops" rel="tag">ski shops</a> will allow you to rent snowboarding equipment so it could be a good idea to rent some different snowboards to get a feel for the boards and find out which one would best suit you. It is important to get a snowboard based on your weight and height. Men's boards will be different in length than women's boards and are likely to have <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/different+designs" rel="tag">different designs</a>, but really there is nothing major to stop you from using either board. Children will of course have boards based on their size. <br /><br /> You can get snowboards that are made specifically to allow you to do certain skills like you all rounder boards will allow you to free ride up and down mountains and will be fine for someone just starting out and learning the sport. The all <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/rounders" rel="tag">rounders</a> will also allow you to tackle jumps and moguls. Other boards are made more for speed and may be longer and have less of a curved edge. <br /><br /> Some of the common brands of snowboards are as follows: <br /><br /> =95Burton =96 Burton is one of the most popular brands and has been in business for 30 years. Burton is the `big name' in snowboarding. Many of the `big' <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/professional+snowboarders" rel="tag">professional snowboarders</a> endorse the Burton brand. <br /><br /> =95Forum =96 The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/forum+company" rel="tag">Forum company</a> has a very dedicated team, the results of which shows in the quality and craftsmanship of their products. Burton was very impressed with the Forum Company and as a result acquired the company in 2004. <br /><br /> =95Gnu =96 This is a very long standing brand and they are a very <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/innovative+company" rel="tag">innovative company</a>. All <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/gnu+snowboards" rel="tag">Gnu snowboards</a> are handmade and are of very good quality. <br /><br /> =95Ride =96 Ride are a very popular company that offer great quality in their boards as well as very stylish outerwear. They are always improving their gear and have uniqueness about their products. <br /><br /> =95Rome =96 This is a company formed by some experienced snowboarders that have such a passion for their sports that they decided to share their passion by offering people their innovative and unique products. If you want to have some fun with your snowboarding products then Rome is a good choice. <br /><br /> Some other snowboard brands are Flow, K2, Arbor, Elan, Nidecker, Rossignol and Salomon. <br /><br /> For some of the top brands you will be paying $500 or even up to $1000. These are quite specialized boards that will allow you to do skills like tight turns and speed riding. <br /><br /> There is a big selection of snowboards available online but you have the disadvantage of not being able to physically touch or look at the board before you buy it. This is where renting can be very useful if you rent some boards and find which one is right for you then you can go shopping online and find the board that you want. <bio>Lucas Bradford. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ We are now at the age where we are <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/empty+nesters" rel="tag">empty nesters</a>. Our youngest child left for college this year. I am the youngest in my family, so each of my sisters are at the same stage in life. This will be our first <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/holiday+season" rel="tag">holiday season</a> without parents. Our father passed away several years ago, and our mom died this summer. We have talked about starting a new tradition for the holiday season. We each like to spend time with each other's families keeping in touch with <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/nieces+and+nephews" rel="tag">nieces and nephews</a> and letting the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cousins" rel="tag">cousins</a> have time together. This year we talked about waiting until New Years weekend to do a family gathering. My husband suggested going skiing together. My children love <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding+trips" rel="tag">snowboarding trips</a> and so do several of their cousins. My sisters usually plan ski trips during the winter months, but not over the holiday season. <br /><br /> I asked my sisters if they would be willing to plan their ski trips along with our childrens snowboarding trips with us and to go close to the holidays. We all agreed that this may be fun. We take both down hill and cross <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/country+ski+trips" rel="tag">country ski trips</a>, whilst our children go off snowboarding. We knew about a resort that offers both that some friends of ours had bought several years ago. We called them and asked if they could accommodate our large group. All together there would be twenty of us. The couple explained that we were like an answer to a prayer. <br /><br /> They had renovated the main lodge and did not think it would be ready for guests until the middle of January. All of their advertisements stated that they would reopen at that time. The project was completed in advance, but people had made alternative arrangements for the holiday weekend. They agreed to let us have the entire lodge for our family. This included sixteen bedrooms, the dining room, game room and bar area. They were planning on being empty so they reduced the price, if we agreed to purchase our meals in addition to the lodging. Usually on our ski trips and snowboarding trips we make our own meals because of the expense; but the price they were quoting us was very inexpensive. <br /><br /> My sisters and their husbands agreed that this was a great price and we booked the lodge. We arrived on a Friday evening and we were all planning to stay until Sunday late afternoon. The lodge was beautifully decorated for the holidays and the renovation was gorgeous. We skied, ate drank and visited. We have decided that our future ski trips will be family events and two of my neices want to begin snowboarding with my two. I may even begin snowboarding myself!! <bio>John Mailer wrote these articles on Snowboarding to increase his knowledge of the sport on which his children and their friends were so keen. <a href="http://www.beginsnowboarding.com" >http://www.beginsnowboarding.com</a> <a href="http://www.basicsdogtraining.com" >http://www.basicsdogtraining.com</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[The world of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/professional+snow<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/boarder" rel="tag">boarder</a>s" rel="tag">boarders</a>" rel="tag">professional snowboarders</a> is one where youth is often more of an asset than a disadvantage. In many <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/sport" rel="tag">sport</a>s, years of experience are necessary before it is possible to compete against the top tier of athletes; but the youthful spring of teen snowboarders often gives them enough of a leg up that they can reach the pinnacle of their field before they are even old enough to drive a car. Boarders sometimes turn pro as early as thirteen or fourteen years of age. <br /><br /> Snowboarding is surrounded by a very youthful culture, and the fact that so many of the sport's stars are so young contributes to its appeal among kids and preteens. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/skiing" rel="tag">Skiing</a>, which is similar to boarding in many ways, can feel very remote to young people because its stars are mostly somewhat older and very experienced. <br /><br /> There is a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/lot" rel="tag">lot</a> of debate surrounding the question of whether skiing or snowboarding is easier to learn, but the fact that so many famous boarders are so young seems to suggest that excelling as a boarder does not require quite as many years on the slopes as it usually takes to become a top skier. A dedicated and talented snowboarder can master the sport fairly quickly, and it is not unusual for a boarder to progress from novice to expert in as little as four or five years. Because many boarding role models are still in high school, and some are even still in middle school, excellence in snowboarding feels like a very attainable goal to today's kids. <br /><br /> Of course, just because snowboarding is popular with young people doesn't mean that it is off limits for older people who are interesting in boarding. Many habitual skiers choose to make some time on the snowboard a regular part of their sports regime. Taking up snowboarding is a great way to capitalize on and further develop the balance skills and agility that you have gained by pursuing skiing or any other sport. Boarding can be a lot of fun, and there are many intricate tricks and twists that are unlike the maneuvers that athletes perform in any other sport. <br /><br /> Some older sports enthusiasts are intimidated by the fact that pro boarders are so much younger than them, but there is no reason to let the fact that the leaders in the field may be less than half your age stop you from trying your hand at the art of snowboarding. For anyone who enjoys pursuing winter sports as a hobby, it is worth spending at least a few days on a snowboard learning the basics. The skills that you develop on a board can translate into many other arenas, and learning to board can make you a better skier, a better runner, or even a better football player. <br /><br /> If you are looking for a way to have a blast while adding some new elements to your training schedule, snowboarding might prove to be just the thing you are looking for. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ Interested in snowboarding but haven't got a clue where to start or what gear you need? Have no fear, here are the essential items you need to begin your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding+adventure" rel="tag">snowboarding adventure</a>. <br /><br /> Snowboard <br /><br /> There are three basic types of snowboards, with each one varying in width and the shape of their tip and tail. Each type is geared for a different type of snowboarding. For most beginners, a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/freestyle+board" rel="tag">freestyle board</a> will be what you want to choose. A freestyle board offers an ease of use, handling and is generally easier to turn, all essential requirements for beginners. <br /><br /> Boots and Bindings <br /><br /> When trying on boots for snowboarding, make sure you select a pair that fits your feet as well as possible. Choose boots that are too loose and you won't get the control you need, choose boots that are too tight and you won't be comfortable. Don't skip this consideration. Also, your boots should keep your feet warm, so the cheapest option might not be the best option. Check the boots for a good amount of lining and cushioning. Next, you'll want to check the flexibility and control the boots will give you. Your boots need to flex properly to allow you to control the board speed and direction. If the boots are too stiff, you may not get the amount of control you need. According to the boot you choose, there will be a type of binding that goes with it. Be sure to try on and test the boots and bindings in the store before you make a purchase. Making your purchase at a store that has a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/generous+return+policy" rel="tag">generous return policy</a> is also a good idea. That way you can return or exchange the boots if you find they aren't working for you. <br /><br /> Apparel <br /><br /> Obviously, it's going to be freezing out there in the snow. You'll want to choose apparel that keeps your body warm and dry but also allows you enough <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/freedom+of+movement" rel="tag">freedom of movement</a> to enjoy yourself. In general, you'll want several layers including some <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/long+underwear" rel="tag">long underwear</a> or undershirt, then a cotton shirt above that, then a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/fleece+pullover" rel="tag">fleece pullover</a>, then a thicker jacket over that for warmth and finally a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/waterproof+jacket" rel="tag">waterproof jacket</a> over that. Layering allows you to adjust for your own comfort and warmth as needed. You'll also want to choose some headwear, such as a helmet or beanie to prevent heat loss through your head. <br /><br /> Accessories <br /><br /> One of the most important accessories you'll want to have is a pair of snowboarding goggles. A good pair of goggles will protect your eyes from snow glare, the sun, snow and if you should veer off course, your eyes will be protected from that stray branch that hits you in the face. Other accessories that are also important include gloves, socks, sunblock, ear warmers, scarf and any safety accessories you may need, like wrist and knee guards. <br /><br /> Armed with this knowledge, you should be able to start your snowboarding adventure off with the right gear, safer and more efficiently. <bio>Lydia Quinn writes for PhatSportShades, a leading performance eyewear provider, offering snowboarding goggles. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ If you've just gotten into snowboarding, there are certain things that change as soon as you buy your own gear. One of the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/most+important+things" rel="tag">most important things</a> to remember is that upkeep and maintenance are vital to the well being of your gear and its performance out there on the mountain. You want to make sure that at all times you give your gear the attention it deserves. If not you will be looking at buying a brand new set in no time, and it's not an inexpensive proposition to replace gear annually. <br /><br /> Cleaning Your Board <br /><br /> The easiest and first thing you should do with your gear is to keep your board clean. Every time you return from the mountain make sure you clean you give it a quick clean down. While it's at times acceptable to leave your board dirty between outings during the midst of boarding season, you should never store your board dirty. If you won't be going back up the mountain again for a few weeks or the season is winding down, you should take the time to ensure a full cleaning. <br /><br /> Citrus based <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cleaning+solvents" rel="tag">cleaning solvents</a> can be found in most board shops, though common <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/household+cleaners" rel="tag">household cleaners</a> without any <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/corrosive+chemicals" rel="tag">corrosive chemicals</a> can be used as well. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/citrus+cleaners" rel="tag">Citrus cleaners</a> are good for this type of cleaning because they remove the dirt as a cleaning solvent and dissolve much of the excess wax residue left from the season. You'll want to prime it for the next waxing, so ensure you have it nice and clean before putting your board away. <br /><br /> Repairs <br /><br /> After cleaning the excess wax off of the board, it's time to see to any repairs that might have come to your attention over the season, small things you haven't gotten to yet. Check your edges for any dull or burred surfaces in need of filing. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/likewise" rel="tag">Likewise</a>, check the base for any damage. You should have a basic kit to repair small bits of damage quickly such as a p-tex candle. However, if your damage is too substantial to fix yourself or you just don't feel comfortable fixing it yourself, you should take your board to a pro-shop and have them see to the damage. <br /><br /> Waxing <br /><br /> When you've finally cleaned and repaired your board back to good, working condition, it's time for a nice hot waxing. To do it on your own, you'll only need a scraper, an iron, and wax. There are specialty snowboarding irons available that are probably better choices than household irons, but those household items will still get the job done. You'll basically apply the wax generously to the base and edges of your board with the iron. Make sure to keep it as even as possible and scrape away any excess when you're done. <br /><br /> Professional Help <br /><br /> If all of that work sounds a little too daunting for you, there are plenty of stores that will do it for you. The repairs might be costly, but a waxing generally only costs about $20. They have all the materials and equipment ready to do it quickly and efficiently without you worrying about an even wax. <br /><br /> If you take the right amount of time every year to maintain your board, you can ensure that your snowboarding gear lasts you for years. It's a pricey sport to get started in, but good maintenance can go a long way towards minimizing future cost. <bio>Tony Brian is a freelance writer for outdoor sports magazines and a contributing writer for BDU's specializing in snowboarding, snowboard, and <a href="http://www.paintball-gun.com/" >http://www.paintball-gun.com/</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ My wife and I have always tried to take time off in the summer as well as the winter. We plan our vacations around our children's school schedule. The summer months are generally easier to arrange due to the extended length of time that school is not in session, however the holiday breaks and spring breaks are generally harder to plan for. Several years ago we decided that we would look into <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ski+vacations" rel="tag">ski vacations</a> to take over the holiday break. Our children were ten and twelve years old at the time and they enjoy skiing and last year wanted to begin <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding" rel="tag">snowboarding</a>. <br /><br /> My wife found a good deal on two ski vacations which also accommodated my childrens wish to begin snowboarding. The only problem was that the flight was on <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/christmas" rel="tag">Christmas</a> day evening. That year Christmas fell on a Monday so we celebrated with my side of the family on Saturday evening, his side of the family on Sunday and we had our own family Christmas Monday morning prior to heading out to the airport. We bought each of the kids a portable CD player that year so that occupied their time during the flight. The ski package that we purchased included a two <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/bedroom+chalet" rel="tag">bedroom chalet</a> with a kitchen and living room area. There was a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hot+tub" rel="tag">hot tub</a> that fit six people on a raised platform area in the living room. The hot tub over looked the mountains and one of the skiing runs. The chalet was a short walk to the main lodge. The lodge had a dining area, bar and large game room with pool tables, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/arcade+games" rel="tag">arcade games</a> and tables to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/play+board+games" rel="tag">play board games</a>. Their selection of board games was huge. <br /><br /> The lodge was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We arrived at the lodge at 5:00PM. We unpacked our bags and then went to have dinner together. We played a board game after dinner then went back to our chalet and spent time in the hot tub. The next day we skied and went into town for groceries. It was a magical week that I know my children will remember for the rest of their lives. We have never laughed so much at my antics on a snowboard because as they wanted to begin snowboarding I decided that I woud also begin snowboarding. Now I am not so sure! <br /><br /> This year my wife is again checking out ski vacations. Our oldest child is a senior in high school this year, so this may be our last family trip during the holiday time. We have not gone back to that first lodge again; partly because of the expense and partly because the time was so perfect that I doubt that it can be duplicated. This year Christmas falls on a Monday again. My wife feels that this is a sign that we should repeat the skiing package. Our children are excited about doing this also. That had been their favorite time out of the ski vacations we have taken. The price has gone up considerably, but we have decided that this will be our Christmas present. I am looking forward to a special time with my family. <bio>John Mailer wrote these articles on Snowboarding to increase his knowledge of the sport on which his children and their friends were so keen. <a href="http://www.beginsnowboarding.com" >http://www.beginsnowboarding.com</a> <a href="http://www.basicsdogtraining.com" >http://www.basicsdogtraining.com</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ It's that time of the year again - how often do you find yourself dreading the bitter cold winter and for many the real prospect of piling on weight partly due to over indulgence in food during the Christmas holiday season and also because of the general lack of motivation to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/exercise" rel="tag">exercise</a>? If you need the fun factor in exercise during winter, try <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboarding" rel="tag">snowboarding</a>. <br /><br /> Snowboarding has in recent years <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/become+increasingly+popular" rel="tag">become increasingly popular</a> especially with the general public. Just like snow-skiing, it is a well-loved winter sport. As you will be spending a lot of time on the snow mountain, it is important that you put on the correct protective <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snowboard+clothing" rel="tag">snowboard clothing</a> and gear to ensure your safety, comfort and warmth. Your first layer of clothing should be made of materials that wick moisture away from your body such as polypropylene or synthetic polyester. Avoid cotton materials as they absorb moisture without wicking it away from your body, therefore causing your body to lose heat rather than trapping it. Your next layer, after putting on a base layer of long underwear, sleeves and woollen socks should serve as the insulation layer. Put on a wool jacket, a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/pullover+sweater" rel="tag">pullover sweater</a> or a micro fleece sweater top that you can easily take off if you warm up too much or add to if the day is particularly cold. Then your last outer layer of snowboard clothing (jacket and pants) should have strong waterproof and windproof properties to keep you dry and your body temperature sealed in. The harsher the environment and climate, the more robust your weatherproof clothing needs to be including having features such as additional venting, extra waterproofing and having inner cuffs on your pants to seal tightly around your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/boots" rel="tag">boots</a> to prevent snow from accumulating in your boots.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /> Being exposed to the snow all day can be very detrimental to your eyes especially on a bright sunny day when the ray reflects off the white snow. You must <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/wear+goggles" rel="tag">wear goggles</a> to protect your eyes from the harmful rays and piercing winds. Wearing a helmet will protect your head and keep it warm. In more extreme weather conditions, you will need to have a neck wrap which will shield your neck and face from the elements. To protect your hands, make sure you get a pair of stretchable gloves that fit over the cuffs of your jacket. Some people prefer using mittens as they are warmer than gloves. There is a wide selection of snowboards designed for different groups of users depending on their snowboarding skill levels, age, body build and the type of snow mountain that the snowboard will be put to use. They come in different shapes and sizes and technical specifications, do check with the experts to determine the best snowboard for you. When selecting a pair of suitable boots, make sure the boots feel snug from heel to toe. When you raise your heel, the heel of the boot should raise in tandem. You should not be able to rotate your foot or ankle in the boot. Loose boots will lead to injury and cause you to lose control of the snowboard when sliding down the slope. <br /><br /> It is always a good idea to choose functionality over fashion, it is not so much as looking good as paying attention to your snowboard clothing and gear to ensure maximum comfort and protection for your body. <bio>For more great articles and advice on Snow Boarding, please visit <a href="http://snowboarding.articlebee.net" >http://snowboarding.articlebee.net</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[I'm a big believer in using the right tools for the job at work, home, or play. Having the right tools makes getting the job done that much more enjoyable. With that said it's no doubt that I'm a big believer in having the right <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/golf+equipment" rel="tag">golf equipment</a>. <br /><br /> Golf equipment, good golf equipment is something that all of those who <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/play+golf" rel="tag">play golf</a> have to get themselves sooner or later. All of the best golfers have their own golf equipment and they have good golf equipment. You cannot get by with substandard golf equipment, you just can't and in order to get the best golf equipment you need to know where to shop for it right? Right. So where is that anyway? <br /><br /> Where you will look for your golf equipment is going to depend on how much money you have to spend on it. If you make a lot of money and you can afford to burn some of it on some fancy <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/new+golf" rel="tag">new golf</a> equipment then sure, go for it but if you are just a regular Joe you might want to start by looking at some used golf equipment. Don't forget about the tons of online <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/golf+shops" rel="tag">golf shops</a> that have everything from A to Z.. The convenience of shopping for golf equipment from your easy chair might just appeal to you. <br /><br /> You can find used golf equipment in many different places. One of my favorites is perhaps an unusual choice, but it is pawnshops. You would be amazed at the types of things pawnshops carry. Golf equipment is just one of the many things that they get loads of. You can find all kinds of golf equipment in these shops, everything from butter and clubs to golf balls and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/golf+bags" rel="tag">golf bags</a>. You name it and somewhere a pawnshop has it. <br /><br /> So look in your local Yellow Pages to see how many shops there are in your town or city might carry golf equipment. You might even want to phone ahead to see if they have any golf equipment in stock. This can save you some serious travel time. <br /><br /> If you do have the money to burn on golf equipment then you can go to any good <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/golf+store" rel="tag">golf store</a>. There you will be able to find all of the top name brands in golf and all of the golf equipment will be shiny and new. To some people this matter and to some it does not. <br /><br /> Now, if you are unsure of what kinds of golf equipment you should be getting ask around. You might also want to get a few golf magazines to see what they are raving about in terms of golf equipment. This can get you a good idea of what is hot and what is not in the wonderful world of golf equipment. <br /><br /> To Your Golfing Success! <bio>Bob Peterson believes in helping golfers improve their game and enjoy the game of golf without spending and arm and a leg. <content:encoded><![CDATA[However the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/man+in+your+life" rel="tag">man in your life</a> gets his thrills; give him Ultimate Experience Days Gifts. Whether he wants a drive in a dream car, spin out in a cockpit or literally jump for joy in the snow, gifts for him will never be the same again. And we guarantee he's going to love you for it!<br><br>Originally launched in 2003, the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/lamborghini+gallardo" rel="tag">Lamborghini Gallardo</a> benefits from increased V10 engine power of five hundred and twenty horsepower, and lower ratio gears, reaching a top speed of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/one+hundred+and+ninety" rel="tag">one hundred and ninety</a> six miles per hour and accelerating from nought to sixty-two miles per hour in just four seconds. Designed to redefine its segment as the best high performance car, the Lamborghini Gallardo is a sports car to fulfil any man's fantasy. Using aluminium space <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/frame+technology" rel="tag">frame technology</a>, the dry weight of the car is just one thousand four hundred and thirty kilograms, despite its permanent four-wheel drive. The engine is mid-rear mounted, with particular attention paid to achieving <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/correct+weight" rel="tag">correct weight</a> distribution: forty two percent in the front and fifty eight percent in the rear.<br><br>The Gallardo is undoubtedly a Lamborghini, whilst asserting its individuality: designed with an evident <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/purism" rel="tag">purism</a>, athleticism and sharpness, its long wheelbase with short overhangs gives it its dynamic appearance. Gallardo, in Lamborghini tradition, takes its name from a breed of fighting bulls: the 18th century Gallardo stock were famous for their aggressive beauty and performance. When the lucky man in your life learns he's been given a Lamborghini Thrill Driving Experience day Gifts Pack and treated to a drive in one if the most exclusive Italian supercars, conventional gifts for him are destined to take a back seat from now on!<br><br>But if that doesn't blow his hair back, perhaps the Ultimate Aerobatics Flight Gift for Him in a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cap+10" rel="tag">Cap 10</a> or Pitts Special will! First, the instructor will perform an extreme aerobatic sequence. It's then time for him to try and perform the same manoeuvres as the instructor coaches him! The Cap 10 and Pitts Special are the aircraft used around the world by professional aerobatic pilots in competitions. Aerobatic flying has to be the ultimate for those flying fanatics who seek stomach-churning thrills. Make no mistake - this experience day for him is not for the faint-hearted. Anyone who knows a little bit about air displays will know that these CAP10 aircraft are the 'industry standard' for performing amazing stunts in the sky. His expert pilot will take him through an extreme aerobatic sequence and then it's over to him to have a go at repeating the loops, rolls and turns under the careful coaching of the pilot.<br><br>The Pitts Special is perhaps the most famous aerobatic biplane of all time and is an American design, which was once the favoured mount of World Champions. Although no longer used at world competition level, its capabilities are awesome. Its amazing power to weight ratio and ability to pull face changing G forces will give your man the most exciting ride of his life. An Aerobatics Trial Lesson Flight Certificate will be awarded afterwards with photo opportunities for guests, an Experience Day for Him to savour and keep forever!<br><br>If the above aren't suitable birthday gifts for him; what about a little Snowboarding Lesson? This is a great chance to learn the latest sports craze of snowboarding. Snowboarding is a sport that involves descending a snow-covered slope on a snowboard attached to his feet using a special boot set into a mounted binding, experience day for him that will knock his socks off.<br><br>The development of snowboarding was inspired by surfing and skateboarding, and the sport shares superficial similarities with skiing. It was developed in the United States in the 1960s and the 1970s and became a Winter Olympic Sport in 1998. Did you know there are several different disciplines within the sport of snowboarding? Freestyle snowboarding is the discipline most closely associated with snowboarding's skateboard roots. All-Mountain Snowboarding make up arguably the largest group within the sport. An all-mountain rider is one who dabbles in each discipline while focusing mostly on riding everything the mountain has to offer. Snowboard Racing, simply put, involves competing against another snowboarder or group of snowboarders in a race against the clock. Snowboard-cross or Boarder-X races combine aspects of both gate racing and freestyle riding. Lessons take place at one of the country's permanent snow all the year round venues. Then the birthday man will have an initial safety briefing and he's off to the slopes. The lesson will cover equipment and basic skills.<br><br>Truly, Experience Day Gifts for Him are bound to put a smile on his face until next year, that is!<bio>To explore our range of <a href="http://www.gettingpersonal.co.uk/experience-days/experience-day-gifts.htm">Experience Days</a> further, please visit our website at http://www.gettingpersonal.co.uk.</bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/home+gym+equipment" rel="tag">Home gym equipment</a> is a great way for you to stay in shape, stay healthy and keep and build muscle tone. There are many home gym equipment reviews online that tout the benefits of the home gym. You can <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/exercise" rel="tag">exercise</a> at home in relative ease. The equipment allows you to work muscles productively that you normally would have trouble exercising and the equipment is usually more effective in helping you exercise. It helps you to maintain proper posture and follow through in the correct motions. <br /><br /> Many users of home gym equipment have or use multistation pieces that allow them to workout on several types of machines in one. The multistation home gym will often allow you to work out your arms, legs, abs and buttock or thighs. <br /><br /> Its usually composed of a pulley or sliding bar system that 'transforms' into different positions when you wish to change your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/workout+routine" rel="tag">workout routine</a>. The multistation home gym increases tension using these pulleys which equate to measures of five or ten pound increments. <br /><br /> You may wish to check out some home gym equipment reviews to find which multistation gyms people prefer. It is very important to find the right ones. Your workout routine will <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/undoubtedly" rel="tag">undoubtedly</a> place a lot of stress on the machine and you want to look for the machine that will stand up to the abuse. In a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/worst+case+scenario" rel="tag">worst case scenario</a> your multistation home gym will break while you are using it and may cause you an injury. <br /><br /> All home gym equipment must have a steel or aluminum frame in order to be strong enough to support you during exercise. It should come with a warranty because it is a big purchase and you need to get your monies worth. Also its important to make sure that this home gym equipment works when you get it and that it has a return policy that the company will honor. <bio>Read more <a href="<a href="http://www.home-gym-equipment.biz">http://www.home-gym-equipment.biz</a>/sitemap.html"><a href="http://www.home-gym-equipment.biz">http://www.home-gym-equipment.biz</a>/sitemap.html</a> and <a href="<a href="http://www.home-gym-equipment.biz">http://www.home-gym-equipment.biz</a>/home-gym-equipment-biz-index.htm"><a href="http://www.home-gym-equipment.biz">http://www.home-gym-equipment.biz</a>/home-gym-equipment-biz-index.htm</a> or visit our <a href="http://www.home-gym-equipment.biz">http://www.home-gym-equipment.biz</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Action Sports are very popular these days and there are many types. They include sports such as Motocross racing, Surfing, Waterskiing, Parasailing, Rock Climbing and the list goes on. Here is a brief history of the beginnings of a few of the more popular Action Sports.<br><br>History of Skateboarding.<br><br>Skateboarding began in Southern California sometime in the late 40s or early 50s. Southern California has some of the most popular surfing spots in the state which attract surfers from all over the world. Even when the waves were not right the surfers wanted to be able to surf so somehow skateboarding evolved, no one really knows who built the very first skateboard, but the idea caught on and spread like wild fire. Today there are skateparks, ramp skating, trick skating and the Skateboard itself has evolved to allow skaters the ability to perform very complicated tricks and maneuvers.<br><br>History of Snowboarding.<br><br>The first Snowboard was called the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/snurfer" rel="tag">Snurfer</a> and was manufactured as a toy in 1966. I was basically a Skateboard with no wheels that you would steer with a rope. It had no bindings but would allow your boots to adhere to the board. In the early 70s a surfer developed a Snowboard called the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/winterstick" rel="tag">Winterstick</a> based on the feel of a surfboard but with the same function as skis. Through the years Snowboards and Snowboarding have increased greatly in popularity with the boards now being designed to enable Snowboards to race and perform <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/freestyle+tricks" rel="tag">freestyle tricks</a>.<br><br><a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/history+of+skiing" rel="tag">History of Skiing</a>.<br><br>Skiing began as a means of travel and transportation. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/sondre+norheim" rel="tag">Sondre Norheim</a> of Norway helped develop Skiing as Recreation and a Sport. In the mid to late 1800s lighter, thinner, cambered skis and a new stiff binding were developed which made it possible for skiers to swing, jump and maneuver turns while skiing down hill.<br><br>Some types of skiing are;<br><br><a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/alpine+skiing" rel="tag">Alpine Skiing</a> is what you do when you go to a ski resort, ride the lift and let gravity propel you down the run.<br><br>Alpine Freestyle or Jib skiing is where skiers use jumps or kicks to do <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/aerial+tricks" rel="tag">aerial tricks</a>.<br><br>Back Country Skiing or Nordic touring uses Nordic style equipment which allows skiers to ski up hill in areas where there are no chairlifts.<br><br>Cross Country Racing is one third up hill, one third downhill and one third flat.<br><br>Adaptive Skiing is done by people with physical disabilities and allows for adaptations to standard ski equipment.<br><br>Military Skiing is recreational and a means of transportation for the military, many armies train for ski warfare.<br><br>Nordic Jumping or ski flying is where skiers slide down a ramp and fly to see who can to the furthest before landing on the ground.<br><br>Nordic Skiing is the most popular style and does not require a special ski area and was developed in Scandinavia as a means of travel in winter.<br><br>Telemark skiing uses flexible ski boots that do not lock the heels into the skis which allow the skier to travel at higher speeds.<br><br>History of Cycling.<br><br>Cycling has grown in popularity over the years and throughout the world. In some countries it is a means of transportation through very narrow streets that will not allow cars to travel or countries where cars are too expensive. Cycling as a sport has increased in popularity throughout the world as well and uses bikes that are specially designed for the terrain and speeds.<br><br>Action Sports Gifts.<br><br>Action Sports are becoming more popular everyday and there are many types. They can include other sports such as Motocross racing, Surfing, Waterskiing, Parasailing, Rock Climbing, 4 Wheeling, Snowmobiling, Drag Racing, Mountain Biking and more.<br><br>Some interesting gift ideas for an Action Sports enthusiast might be to decorate a small tree with Action Sports Ornaments. There are Skateboarding Ornaments, Bike Racer Ornaments, Gifts for Snowboarders, Snowboarding Ornaments and Skiing Ornaments. These are just a few of the different types of Action Sports Gifts that are available. They are sure to be a hit with any Action Sport enthusiast.<bio>Debby Brown has been a writer for Christmas Decorations and Gifts for several years. <content:encoded><![CDATA[When it comes time to purchase your very own <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/golf+equipment" rel="tag">golf equipment</a> you are going to find that the selection can be pretty overwhelming. There are hundreds of different pieces of golf equipment out there on the market and many different companies make them all. How on earth are you to choose the best possible golf equipment when you are a relative newbie tot he game of golf? <br /><br /> The best answer to this very important question is for you to do your homework. Before you invest in any golf equipment you need to find out what all of your options are. That means research. Check into the different brand names that are out there to see if they are actually worth the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/extra+cash" rel="tag">extra cash</a>. Some of the brands are all about hype and their golf equipment is no better than the equipment sold for a fraction of the price. Find out what expensive items are just about the name and which pieces of golf equipment are actually worth what they are charging you for them. This is essential to choosing the right golf equipment for you and your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/golf+game" rel="tag">golf game</a>. <br /><br /> You need to do some talking to others who <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/play+golf" rel="tag">play golf</a> as well. Talk to those who have no bias for or against certain companies. Ask them what they use for their golf equipment and why. What brands do they hate with a passion and which do they really like? Write everything down so that you can try to come to some sort of general understanding about the different brands of golf equipment out there. <br /><br /> The internet is a powerful tool when you are looking to buy some <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/new+golf" rel="tag">new golf</a> equipment. You can find hundreds of reviews that can make all of the difference when you are buying your new golf equipment. This is a great way to find out any of the major flaws in certain things that you know you will not be able to live with when you are <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/playing+golf" rel="tag">playing golf</a>. <br /><br /> Shopping online for your golf equipment is great not only because you can find out so many things about each kind of golf equipment but also because you will be able to find the best prices as well. You can get the lowest possible prices on all your golf equipment if you shop online. By comparison shopping you can get your golf equipment for a fraction of the price you would pay at your local golf store. And you can compare the prices at hundreds of different stores all in a matter of minutes. When was the last time you could do that in person? Probably never right? Just think of all the money you will save on gas alone when shopping for your golf equipment this way. And the time, you could be brushing up on your swing at the club with all that time! <br /><br /> Always check out the golf equipment online before you make any expensive purchases. <bio><a href="http://golfrs.com/">http://golfrs.com/</a> Golf Information: improve your golfing game with tips and tricks to help you with your game of golf. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[There are many different types of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/exercise+equipment" rel="tag">exercise equipment</a> and many different ways to exercise. Most people will undoubtedly think that it doesn't matter very much what kind of exercise you do just as long as you are being active you are being healthier. To some extent this is true you are being healthier no matter what type of exercise you get. This can lead to all kinds of benefits, but there are different types of exercises for a reason. There is elliptical equipment, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/exercise+bikes" rel="tag">exercise bikes</a>, water aerobics and so on, including <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/strength+training+equipment" rel="tag">strength training equipment</a>. Strength training equipment is used specifically to help you to build muscle. <br /><br /> Building muscle and muscle strength is important for a variety of reasons. Stronger muscles help you through daily life. The weights lifted in strength training help to build up your bone density. These means that you will have less chance of breaking a bone or of developing <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/osteoporosis" rel="tag">osteoporosis</a>. Also by building up your muscle you get nice tone and shape to whatever part of the body you are working on. Men are more likely than women to increase their muscle size in terms of bulk, but there are lots of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/women+bodybuilders" rel="tag">women bodybuilders</a> and both genders can use strength training equipment as part of their regimen to build up <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/big+muscles" rel="tag">big muscles</a>. <br /><br /> Strength training equipment comes in many forms as well. The traditional form is in iron or metal <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/free+weights" rel="tag">free weights</a> that you can put on and take off of a bar to increase and decrease the amount of weight you lift. You can also find strength training equipment in the form of weight training machines that are usually considered safer than using free weights and easier to work with. Also there is strength training equipment in the form of tubing or elastic that works your muscles by increasing tension making it harder to pull. Be sure to look up strength training equipment reviews online. <bio>Read more <a href="<a href="http://www.strength-training-equipment.net">http://www.strength-training-equipment.net.</a>/sitemap.html"><a href="http://www.strength-training-equipment.net">http://www.strength-training-equipment.net.</a>/sitemap.html</a> and <a href="<a href="http://www.strength-training-equipment.net">http://www.strength-training-equipment.net.</a>/strength-training-equipment-net-index.htm"><a href="http://www.strength-training-equipment.net">http://www.strength-training-equipment.net.</a>/strength-training-equipment-net-index.htm</a> or visit our <a href="http://www.strength-training-equipment.net">http://www.strength-training-equipment.net.</a>. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Maneuvering rivers on <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/whitewater+rafts" rel="tag">whitewater rafts</a> is different than using a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/kayak" rel="tag">kayak</a> or smaller boat. Usually, the rafts are made with heavy, resilient plastic and are partially inflatable, looking somewhat like an inflatable air mattress. <br /><br /> Usually, whitewater rafts are used on rivers, much like <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/whitewater+kayaks" rel="tag">whitewater kayaks</a> are used. Passengers navigate down the river to experience the thrill and excitement of successfully managing to make it through the rapids and whitewater in one piece. <br /><br /> Adventures With Whitewater Rafts <br /><br /> Using whitewater rafts can be dangerous, particularly if the passengers are inexperienced or don't have a professional guide to help them. Generally, guides are available to help rafters make it down the river. Accidents involving whitewater rafts often occur if the passengers are inexperienced or do not have a guide with them. <br /><br /> As with any <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/whitewater+adventure" rel="tag">whitewater adventure</a>, you should be prepared. Equipment should be in good working order, especially the whitewater rafts, since they will be your main piece of equipment. Whether from equipment malfunction or inexperience, many have been seriously injured or died while using whitewater rafts.
