Did you know that any desk top pad can do wonders in adding a touch of style to your office desk? This is true as long as you choose the best match for your office style. There are many variations of desk pads on the market to choose from. Fortunately, there are only a few simple guidelines you can follow in order to ensure the best choice for your budget, your ideal office design and other particular features you may want in your desk pad.

First of all, use of a writing pad will take away all concerns related to damaging the desk top surface by imprints from pen marks. Of course, having a perfectly flat surface for writing is a very basic requirement for any office. Writing pads that fill these requirements are numerous and can come in a variety of styles and materials, from leather writing pads to paper or cardboard based desk pads. Remember that paper based pads are easily damaged by spills or constant abrasion, so they will probably need replacement after a short while.

In addition to providing a safe, protective writing surface, desk top pads also help your flow of paper work by providing a non-slip surface for your work. Selection of a pad that provides some resistance to sliding of papers and folders is recommended, especially for busy offices. If you have ever tried to organize papers on a smooth, slick surface, you will understand the benefit a slightly resistive surface can offer.

Desk pads can also help work wonders on office and desk area clutter, helping to enhance your work productivity and making you more relaxed throughout the work day. Some say the organization is the key to business success, and desk top pads are an ideal tool to contribute in achieving that. You can use executive desk pads for many organizational things, such as:

- organizing your business documents, phone numbers; - make a special place for important business cards; - get your writing instruments in one place; - organize your tasks with a daily agenda which can be included in the desk pad; - Organize brief notes or instructions that you find useful in your business activity.

Using desk pads as a focal point to assist in decluttering makes the process much easier. As above, considering the quality of the surface, the protective nature of the material and the ability of the desk pad to act as a focal point for organizaiton of your space are the key considerations in making a good selection. No matter what your ultimate choice is, from a leather surface to acrylic or a high-tech Rhinolyn desk pad, it can provide writing comfort as well as provide an anchor point in your office space to help in organizing and decluttering your desk. <bio>For additional information on the ultimate desk pads for your office and desk space, see the SuccessImage high-end office furnishing accessories and desk pads for executive and home offices alike at http://www.successimage.com/cat--Desk-Pads--DeskPads. </bio>

Some people think it is just fine to tile over their vinyl floors, but this is not a good idea. It may save time in the beginning in the installation process, but it will cause a lot of problems later that will take up more time in the long run.

The first problem is that the new tiles will not stick well over the vinyl. Vinyl has a top layer of plastic which, since it is a slick surface, will not give the porousness necessary for the tiles to stick well, not matter what kind of glue you use. Some people think they will get around this by roughing up and sanding the surface to make it adhere better, but this will not make a big difference. Since the tiles are not going to stick to the underfloor, they will eventually lift, and you will have to replace parts or maybe even the entire floor. No time saved there.

The second problem is that you will not have a level surface. To make sure your floor is completely level is hard enough when you are working with a new sub floor, but if you have vinyl with varying heights of adhesive under it, it is next to impossible.

The third problem is the surface under the floor may not be the right kind for tiles. Vinyl can be installed over 1/4" plywood or particle board, but these are not approved surfaces for tile. If you put the tiles over the vinyl on these surfaces, you will end up with a floor that moves and can therefore crack and lift easily. If you get this kind of lift or flex, you will have to replace the floor since replacing one tile is very difficult. First of all, lifting it out without damage to the other tiles is not easy, and after your tiles have been down a while, you will not be able to match them perfectly.

If you insist on leaving the vinyl down, you have to do a completely different kind of preparation for the floor. You have to screw down the vinyl and cover it with a mortar base using mesh and concrete. If you don't want to deal with concrete, you will have to put a new sub floor down over the vinyl. Some new products are out now that will help avoid cracks in tiles that are laid on wooden sub floors. But all of these work seems harder than just lifting the vinyl, so why not just do that? In addition, the problems of lifting and unevenness will not only be unattractive, they may also be dangerous.

If you absolutely have to leave the vinyl down, you should have a professional tile installer look over the job. They will discuss your all of you options and help you decide. Moreover, a professional will also advise you about the best brand of the tile to buy and may be even suggest dealers from where you can get the product at discounted prices. <bio>Focusing recent findings in discount floors, Ray Walberg works mostly for http://www.insidewoodworking.com .
Waxes and sealants both provide valuable protection and enhance the shine of your vehicle's paint. Waxes have long been the dominant form of protection but they are being replaced by new synthetic sealants. Sealants and waxes are both great products and knowing the differences between them can help you select what product or combination of products works best for you.

Waxes are primarily made from properties found in nature like carnauba wax. Waxes have fine water molecules in them, which make them more sensitive to heat than sealants. Once the clear coat temperature reaches 125 -- 200 degrees the moisture inside the wax starts evaporate and the wax will melt, leaving the paint without protection. If a wax is melting it becomes soft and contaminates in the air can settle in the wax. As the wax cools the contaminates can become trapped in the wax. Natural waxes will generally protect your vehicle from 2 -- 14 weeks. If you apply a wax to a dark colored vehicle and let it sit in direct sunlight continuously it will melt quickly, but if you have a lighter colored vehicle and store it in a garage you can get up to 3 months of protection.

Sealants are made in labs from artificial properties like polymers, resins, acrylics, etc. Creating a sealant basically takes ordinary polymers and removes properties that do not add more shine or protection to the formula by reducing the presence of water and other unnecessary elements. Sealants will only begin to melt at several hundred degrees and will last 3 -- 12 months. Sealants are generally much more resistant to nature's harsh elements and abrasions. Applying a sealant to your vehicle would be ideal to give it maximum protection for the winter months.

Sealants add a great shine and make the surface feel very slick. Sometimes right after applying a sealant the surface is so slick that moisture doesn't really bead up it sheets off. Sealants tend to be very reflective. So why would anyone use a wax then if sealants provides such superior protection and a great shine? Waxes typically provide a deeper and glossier appearance that makes the paint look endlessly deep. This look is sometimes referred to as "wet" or "hard candy" and looks stunning when done right. Typically a pure carnauba wax is used to give off this effect and produce the deepest shine possible. When automobile manufacturers display new models they will often apply multiple coats of a carnauba wax so their vehicle is sure to be eye catching.

So now we must evaluate what form of protection works best for vehicle owners. If you have a daily driver we recommend applying a sealant to ensure that you have a strong layer of protection for months to come. If you detail your vehicle regularly (at least once a month) or you have a vehicle that's not regularly driven you may want to just use a carnauba wax. With regular applications and/or light driving, the carnauba wax will give you the protection you need and the shine you want. To have the best of both worlds top off a coat of sealant with a layer of carnauba wax. This will give you the enduring protection of the sealant along with the rich and glossy appearance of a wax for a show car shine.

We hope this information helps you better understand waxes and sealants and the differences between them.
Generally, the texture of mosaic tile is very much similar to the texture of ceramic tile.

The different between mosaic tile and ceramics is the size of mosaic are smaller. The size of mosaic tile is generally about 5*5 centimeter. When using mosaic, we will assemble small pieces altogether, stick with paper glue or other materials. When apply mosaics to the surface of the floor or walls, you have to make sure that you leave enough space between single tile to let cement leak into those space and make mosaic stick together.

The raw material that mosaic generally made from are clay, marl, stones powder and some kind of sand mixed together. Then take the mixture of these materials compress with a mold by using extreme high pressure and then burned at the temperature around 800 degree Celsius.

Usage

We use mosaic as covering material of floor and wall or other surface. There are two types of mosaic, divided by the character of the tile's surface, which are polished surface and rough surface. Polished surface mosaic is suitable for wall covering meanwhile the rough surface suitable for floor covering in order to prevent slip. The surface of mosaic tile also has ability not to damaged from chemicals, oil, pressure and scratch

Caution

You have to make sure when apply mosaic to the surface, piece of mosaic must firmly stick to the surface, otherwise they will peel of the surface. You can use wet cotton to clean the mosaic without using any other cleaning chemicals.

Installation

First of all, the surface the floor/wall should be well prepared in terms of slope and cleanliness of the surface. The surface must be flat and not be knobby otherwise the tile will not stick firmly to the surface. Then mix cement with sand in the right proportion and apply to the surface about 3 centimeter thickness and slowly put mosaic tile on the cement and leave it until the cement dried (generally take at lease 3 hours). In case of using glue paper to stick the mosaic, you should leave it at least about 24 hours before peel of the glue paper, then apply cement into the cavity between single tile and leave it for another 2-3 days before use. This method is not complicated so it is ok for you if you want to make it by yourself.

if you go to a construction materials shop and see mosaic tile that mock by glue paper or nylon net, this is just a mock up model to display the pattern or design of the mosaic only, it's not the way that you can have those paper tile to actually apply to floor or wall surface.

The mosaic that assembled and stick on net is suitable for floor covering than using with wall, because nylon net has less ability to stick with the surface because the net have to carry weight of entire of mosaic while it has very little space that attached to the surface. The type of mosaic that use glue paper to coat and adjoin to the surface will be more effective in <bio>http://www.endure-floor-tiles.com/ http://www.wholesale-unity-candles.com/ </bio>

The type of wood floor you have will determine the type of floor cleaner you need to use. It is very important you choose the right cleaner because the wrong one can cause permanent damage to your wood floors. If you are unsure about the type of wood floor you have there are a few simple ways you can test it to find out. Most likely your floor has either a wax or surface finish.

What you want to do is find an inconspicuous area of your floor to test, usually a in a corner of a room. Apply 2 drops of water directly to the floor. If white spots appear under your drops within ten minutes your floor has a wax finish. If the white spots do not appear you probably have a surface finish floor, to be sure take a coin and scratch the surface of the wood. If it does not scratch then you can be sure that your flooring has a surface finish. More details can be found at http://www.oakfloorsupplies.com..

Cleaners for Wood Flooring with a Wax Finish

You must dust mop and vacuum regularly, usually once a week. You also want to buff the floor every now and again to keep it shiny. Eventually buffing won't be enough to shine the floor, that's when you know it is time for a waxing. Before waxing, clean the entire floor with a cleaner made specifically for your type of hardwood. Apply the wax evenly across the entire area and when it is dry buff it out. You should only need to wax your floor once or twice a year.

Cleaners for Wood Flooring with a Surface Finish

Sweep and vacuum your floor regularly. Never use wax on a surface finish floor. Instead, use a surface finish to recoat a dull wood floor. Depending on the amount of traffic on the floor, you may have to apply the finish every couple of months. <bio>Hardwood cleaning supplies and advice can be found at http://www.oakfloorsupplies.com./sitemap.html.
Butcher-block counter tops and tables give a beautiful effect to any modern kitchen. The woods used include Maple, beech and ash. If you are giving your kitchen a makeover then think about replacing laminate top work surfaces with butcher-block ones. Butcher block is made from strips of wood glued together to look like one solid piece.

The natural variation present in any wood gives interest and beauty to the surface. Work surfaces made from solid wood are never going to date, they just ooze quality and you do away with all the disadvantages of laminates. No more scratches, no more scorch marks or stains.

Maintenance of butcher-block tables and surfaces is what concerns most people. More maintenance is required than for marble, granite or laminate. Wood is porous, so the surface should never be left wet. Bacteria from meat and other foodstuffs will flourish if the surface is not cleaned adequately after each use.

Wash down with a dilute dishwashing solution after every use, then rinse this off and dry the wood thoroughly. After cutting meat or chicken on your butcher-block surface you should wash the surface with a 10% solution of a chlorine-based bleach. Leave the bleach on the surface for 10-15 minutes, then rinse and allow it to dry.

You will need to oil the surface with clear paraffin oil occasionally, just wipe the surface with a little oil on a cloth, leave it for about an hour, then wipe off any excess oil.

It is not a good idea to cut on your surface because it will soon be damaged, no matter what coating is applied. Buy a butcher block chopping board for this purpose, treat it in the same way, but the cutting board is easily replaced or sanded down and resealed if it is damaged.

Find out more at http://www.butchers-block.info. <bio>Loreno Lepe has a background in the chemical and construction industries. The bridal satin comforters of premium quality are the glossiest and most exquisite satin existing.

What is a Satin Comforter?

A satin comforter offers one to feel the opulent and sensual satisfaction only a real quality satin can bring. Satin presents a magnificent appearance and elegance to a rather plain conventional bedroom. These materials also give an added romantic ambiance. Many honeymoon spots and bridal suites prefer to use satins as their beddings.

A set of satin comforters comprising of pillow shams and velvety sheets is very inviting. Reversible satin comforters are crafted either with different colors or identical colors on opposite sides. Satin's palettes vary from soft tones of lavender and pastel colors to bright red, gold, and shiny black. They are not just perfect for the master's bedroom but also appealing for guest rooms.

What is Satin?

Satin is a kind of smooth, silky fabric that was first created from silk in China. Exportation reached Europe and by the 14th century, satin fabrics became highly prized throughout the region. It had become the favorite of the royal family. This is due to its incomparable luster and touch. Since satin undergoes the weaving process, it is incredibly delicate. It is more economical than silk and thicker than polyester.

Customary satin features two distinct sides, the dull and the shiny surface. Sewers must be certain to bring together garments on the correct side so as to show the unique luster and gloss. Although satin used to be created entirely of silk, it is nowadays manufactured with acetate, polyester, and nylon among others. These fabrics offer an economical means to get the lustrous texture satin provides.

Satin doesn't refer to a fabric, but to a type of weave, though historically, the only true satin was woven from silk. Nowadays there are varying types and qualities of fabric sold as satin. When shopping for satin comforter, consider its weave. Go for the woven ones and not the knitted comforters.

Knit satin materials which are usually crafted with acetate or polyester possess coarser surface compared to a highly threaded, woven satin.
The proper shoes are important in all sports, but especially in track and field. If your sport is a track and field event, it's imperative that you wear the right shoe. They're the most critical piece of equipment you can buy. Do like the pros do and spend some time finding the most appropriate shoe for your feet. Don't let yourself be overly influenced by how good the shoes look; it's more important that they're right for your particular track event and your feet. Shoes that seem more fashionable are rarely the best choice, so this should be well down on your list of reasons to buy a pair of shoes.

This doesn't mean that an unattractive shoe is automatically the best choice, however. Now that you know how important it is to choose the right shoe you also need to know what to look for. Bear in mind that shoes used on a track are completely different from shoes used for road or trail running. A track is a nice flat surface without obstacles (unless you're running hurdles), while running anywhere else will cause you to deal with uneven grounds, slick surfaces, and objects to get over or around.

The wrong shoes, shoes not appropriate for your sport, or shoes that don't fit properly will put you at risk for injury. Running shoes must be appropriate for the surface you'll be running on, or you'll be wasting your money.

The first thing you need to know before deciding on a new track shoe is which way your feet roll when they touch the ground. The may roll toward the outside or inside of your foot; you can determine which describes your running style by examining the soles of the shoes you're currently wearing. Under-pronating is caused by wearing out on the outside first; over-pronating, obviously, causes more wear on the inside of the shoe. If you can't tell if you're an under- or over-pronator from the wear on your current shoes, have someone who runs with you watch your feet as you run. Ask them to run behind you so they can tell how your feet hit the ground. You have to know what kind of pronator you are before you can begin looking for new track shoes.

Once you've determined what type of pronator you are you'll be on the right track for finding the proper running shoe. If your shoes are worn evenly across the soles, you're a neutral pronator and you need a well-balanced, flexible shoe. A well-cushioned shoe is necessary for an under-pronator, while a heavy shoe will give needed stability to a moderate over-pronator. Motion control training shoes are required if you're a severe over-pronator (let's hope that's not you!).

After determining what type of pronator you are and you know what kind of running you'll be doing, it's time to start trying on shoes. Put both shoes on, lace them up, and take a couple of steps with a running motion. If they feel right and you've already determined they're the right shoe for your circumstances, your search is over.

The proper type of shoe is paramount in any track and field endeavor. Always search for the shoe that's best for your foot. It must offer protection for your foot based on the type of running you do. And naturally, make sure the shoe fits properly and allows you to compete all day in comfort. <bio>To save on sneakers and sports accessories, Vince suggests using a http://www.couponkathy.com/coupons/shoes/shoebuy-coupon.htm Shoebuy Coupon and a http://www.couponkathy.com/coupons/specialty/sharper-image-coupons.htm Sharper Image Coupon from CouponKathy.com. </bio>

Ever feel like you need to clean your foosball table? Well, in actuality, you are supposed to keep up with maintenance for your table so your game won't be ruined. Here are some tips to help you correctly care for your foosball table.

All game tables and game room furniture need some sort of upkeep. Even if it simply means dusting. For foosball cleaning purposes, it is recommended to use rubbing alcohol, 70% by volume. It evaporates and will not damage any components of the table. An easy way to use this is by pouring some into a spray bottle. This allows for even distribution on the area you're cleaning. Make sure you clean the table top and scrub away at any ball marks preferably once a week. A dirty table makes for poor play, so make sure you get into the corners and thoroughly wipe your table down. Also, if you clean the insides of the goals and ball return, it will in turn, help keep your balls clean.

Since we're talking about the game balls, let's discuss how to clean those! A common method is to put them in the washing machine with a small load of non colored clothing. If you plan on doing this, make sure you don't wash them with anything that could cause lint build up. The purpose is to clean the balls, not layer on more dirt. Always make sure to wash or clean your balls with a non colored cloth. If you use a colored on, it will most likely alter the color of the balls. If you don't like the idea of placing them in the washer, you can simply clean them with the same rubbing alcohol you use for the table. Make sure to never scrape the balls as this will make them too slick to play with. If you need them to dry, always air dry them. DO NOT put them in the dryer!

Last but not least, we have to talk about the rods. It is adviseable to clean your rods with a towel every week. This will help keep them slick enough to move freely. When the time comes to lube your rods, we suggest using a silicone lubrication. When using the silicone, you have to make sure you don't use too much. A little goes a long way! Make sure you don't get any on the table, handles, or the ball. This could completely ruin your game! When applying the silicone, make sure you slowly turn the rod as you apply. This will evenly spread the silicone over the rod. Most people tend to move the rods back and forth to spread the lubricant, but this actually causes the silicone to scrape off in the bearing. Basically, it would be a waste of time!

Simply follow these tips and I guarantee you will have a clean foosball table that plays like new!
Machines used for cleaning surfaces with hot water are called steam cleaners. Steam cleaners are used to kill allergens, bacteria, mold, and fungus on surfaces. Steam cleaners are mostly used in homes, inns and restaurants, etc. Home steam cleaners are used to clean surfaces such as in the bathroom, or the carpet and so on. A steam cleaner can be used to clean any surface which is heat resistant.

There are two types of steam cleaners; traditional steam cleaners, and vapor steam cleaners. The traditional steam cleaners include a boiler, container, hose and brushes, and use warm water to make the surface clean. They are used to clean floors only. The warm water is spread on the dirty surface, and then the revolving brushes scrub the surface and collect the dirty water into a container. Some cleaners need cleaning agents to remove stains, but mostly rely on steam and brushes to perform this process.

Vapor steam cleaners include a container with a heater, a hose and a nozzle. Water is boiled in the tank to produce dry steam. This dry steam is thrown onto the dirty surface via a hose and nozzle. The steam helps in loosening the dirt and stains on the surface. The surface is then cleaned with the help of a vacuum cleaner.

Moisture content is only 6% in the vapor steam cleaner, so the surface will dry as soon as it is cleaned. Any heat resistant surface can be washed by a vapor steam cleaner. It is generally used by people who are allergic to chemicals.

Then there are steam cleaners made specifically to clean carpets. Instead of using steam, they use hot water to clean the carpet. After wetting the carpet, brushes in the steamer scrub it, and unclean water is sucked back into the container. The use of an air conditioner at the same time is good, as it eliminates humidity from the air, and the carpet gets dried quickly. Once the carpet is dry, make sure that it is then vacuumed so it is cleaned properly.

Steam cleaners can have an inbuilt water container or they can have a constant water supply. The latter is more convenient, as you will not need to fill the tank again and again.

You can get various models of steam cleaners. Before purchasing, you should look for boiler capacity, its attachments, warranty and user manual etc. It is also important that you go through all the manufacture instructions before using your stream cleaner. <bio>Stefan Rockhaus provides tips on various home and family topics.
Fly fishing is very different than fishing with a lure or worm type baits. The fly fisherman uses a artificial fly consisting of bites of feathers, foam, hide, fur, yarn, and other materials to be tried on to a hook that make it appealing to the type of fish you are catching. Every fly fisherman has his own type of flies he like to use some purchase them and then some of us like to tie our own. Fly tying is more of an art with basic training which most people can learn over a short period of time.

Dry fly fishing is the best classic form of fishing. The artificial fly is cast so that it floats on the surface of the water. As the fly passes over the fish it will rise to the surface and strike or take the fly.

With the fly rod you will attempt to stop the fish from spitting out the fly and get it tired enough so you can land it in your net. With fly fishing you will see all the action as you cast the fly and play the fish for a strike. The fly is very visible on the surface to the fish. You will see the fish take the fly on the surface however trout and other fish tend to feed under water so if you see the fish rising to the surface it is time to use a dry fly.

Wet flies will sink under the surface of the water an may be passed in front of the fish there bye causing the fish too strike at the fly,

Nymph fishing is very popular after the flies lay eggs on lakes or in streams and they hatch out as nymphs. As the nymphs make their way to the surface the fish will take them. When they get to the surface they will hatch into a flies.

When nymph fishing the imitation nymphs you us will be weighted to stay below the surface of the water. This will be far more of a challenge for you as the action all take place under the surface of the water and you will not be able to see if a fish is about to strike.

Most fish can be caught on a fly but the most common are trout, salmon, chars, and most game fish. In most areas the trout are the most popular and you will find them feeding mostly on small insects in shallow water. If you live on the coast you find salmon fishing with a fly rod a very rewarding challenge. Hooking a 30 or 40 pound salmon on a fly rod will give you a work out running up and down the beach trying to play the fish out to land it .

The fly fishing sport has gained ever increasing popularity over the years. Most will agree it just not about catching the fish but in the delivery of the fly and the skill and knowledge in the pursuit. http://tinyurl.com/pgqjj

Some fly fisherman regard fly fishing as the holy grail of fishing. It is more relaxing and some say a better past time than golf. The sport of fly fishing see people from all walks of life. Some say it is more environmentally friends than the other type of fishing because it does less harm to the fish then other styles of fishing.

The art of fly fishing will get in to your blood and you will peruse the quite of the streams or the solitude of the ocean beaches to capture you prey. Most anglers will catch and release if they are fly fishing. <bio>Sammy Salmon has been having fun fishing for years and wants to share all his knowledge with you so be sure to visit him at http://tinyurl.com/pgqjj http://www.fishing-for-fun.net. </bio>

Many home owners report that their concrete does not look as good as it first did, and indeed some concrete looses its looks and become cracked and dimples and rust stains. This look damages the house look and many find it to be plain ugly, the solutions that people apply to this problem is usually covering the whole concrete surface with different thing, mattress and clothes from all materials, but covering the concrete does not solve the problem just provides a temporary solution you need to remove once it starts raining.

The real solution for this problem is using concrete paint. You can use concrete paint to cover the whole surface and make it look completely different, the paint will help you change the look and you can also add some sand to the paint to help prevent problems like slipping or falling on the concrete because of water or cracks, the paint will make these problems disappear.

Whenever talking about changing or replacing concrete we are talking about an expensive work that will almost surely take some time and effort that might disturb the family living in the house for some time, this is why the concrete problems should first try to be solved by a quicker and simpler solutions, the concrete paint solution is much shorter and easier than redoing the whole area of the concrete. The only thing you need to do is visit a shop and decide on the color that you want, buy the other necessary things for this project, find some free time and paint your concrete.

There is also place for creativity when painting your concrete, you can buy a few different colors, make a plan of how you want to paint it and paint geometric shapes, different patterns, words and letters, colors that correspond to the house colors, swirls and circle shapes and check board shapes. You can also use templates for these shapes, you will need to make or get durable templates and use them to give your concrete a unique look.

The only important thing you should bare in mind is that before painting the concrete you will need to examine all the concrete surface to make sure that it is clean and dry, in any case you should clean the whole surface to make sure that no oil stains or water is not present on the surface because concrete can hold a lot water. You can clean the surface by using a broom on the dry surface and then using a broom and some strong cleaning produce, washing like you do at home, and then using water to wash away the soap. Once the concrete is clean and dry the painting can start.

Once you will complete the painting you will understand how easy and simple it is to reinvent your concrete surface look, and also understand that once you are bored with the colors you could change again and again, good luck with your new concrete paint and new concrete surface. <bio>Daniel Roshard is an interior designer fascinated by outdoor architecture, he is currently studying public parks and outdoor design.
Steam cleaners are machines that clean surfaces using steam or hot water. Steam cleaners are usually used to kill allergens, dust mites, bacteria, mold, fungus etc on the surface being cleaned. Steam cleaners are used in hospitals, hotels, bakeries, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. Household steam cleaners are used to cleanse kitchens, bathrooms, carpets etc. Steam cleaners can be used to clean almost any surface like floors, curtains, furniture, and almost any surface which is heat resistant. There are two types of steam cleaners, traditional steam cleaners and vapor steam cleaners.

A traditional steam cleaner uses hot water to clean the surface. The traditional steam cleaner consists of a boiler, a collecting tank, a hose and brushes. Hot water is sprayed under pressure on the surface being cleaned. Then rotating brushes scrub the surface and the dirty water is suction extracted into the container. Some traditional steam cleaners also use cleaning agents to clean, while most rely on steam and brushes to do the job. Cleaning agents help to remove spots and grime on the surface. The use of traditional steam cleaners is usually restricted to floors only.

A vapor steam cleaner consists of a water container with a heater attachment (collectively known as boiler), a hose and a nozzle. Water is boiled in the container under pressure to produce super heated steam or dry steam. Dry steam is a steam which is heated to more than 100 degrees Celsius. This dry steam is then passed through a hose to the nozzle and onto the surface being cleaned under pressure. This loosens the dirt and grime on the surface being cleaned. Then a vacuum cleaner is used to clean the surface.

The steam generated in a vapor steam cleaner has very low moisture content, usually up to 5 percent. So when a surface is cleaned by steam it becomes dry within few minutes. They generally do not have continuous water supply hence are more convenient to use. Vapor steam cleaners can be used to clean any heat resistant surface like vehicle interiors, windows, bathrooms, etc with proper attachments. Vapor steam cleaners are generally used by people suffering from allergies or who do not want cleaning by chemicals.

There are specialized steam cleaners for carpets called carpet cleaners. They do not use steam but use hot water to clean the carpet. After wetting the carpet, the area is scrubbed with brushes and then the dirty water is sucked back into the receptacle. The carpet is left to dry. Switching on the Air Conditioner in a room dries the carpet quickly as it removes humidity from the air. Once the carpet is dry, it should be vacuumed to clean it thoroughly.

Steam cleaners can have an independent water container or continuous water supply. Continuous water supply is more convenient as the tank need not be refilled repeatedly. The dirty water is expelled after cleaning.

There are many models available in the market. The cost ranges from $100 for residential models to $2000 for commercial models. Before buying the buyer should look for boiler capacity, the attachments, mobility, warranty, user manual, demo CDs etc. <bio>Tyson J Stevenson writes on a wide variety of "every day" subjects, always with valuable news and reviews.
Simply put VoIP is a protocol that allows for a computer to make a voice communication over the internet. A computer can call a computer, or it could even covert the signal and call an ordinary phone. With VoIP a user can call using a computer, a phone made special for VoIP or a normal phone equipped with a VoIP adapter. VoIP can also be accessed wirelessly in certain areas where such a connection is available such as internet cafes and other such hotspots. Simply put, VoIP allows people to talk over the internet just as one would over the phone.

In order to take advantage of VoIP the user will need a broadband high speed internet connection. Cable modems as well as services like DSL or even a local area network will fit this requirement. The other thing needed is either a computer, a specialized phone or an adapter for a traditional phone. Either the computer or the VoIP phone would work better as some VoIP services will not recognize the adapter and will not function as a result. If the computer is the preferred method then specific software will need to be installed and a microphone will need to be connected. Other than the fact that the VoIP phone will attach directly to the broadband connection, it works like a normal phone.

Calling other VoIP users will normally be free of charge; however connecting to traditional phone lines will likely cost the user money based similar factors as a normal phone. Details of payment will of course depend on the VoIP provider. Some will allow the user to call anywhere for a flat rate while others will operate more like a current phone service. Who a user can call varies depending on the provider as well. Some will allow users to call any number whether it is VoIP or not. Others will be limited to only those who are using VoIP. In order to call a traditional phone, there is no need for any specialized equipment; the user simply dials the number as he normally would, making it the same as a normal call.

One of the main advantages to VoIP is that the user no longer needs a separate phone line and a broadband connection. Both the phone and internet now works off of the same line and so the user saves money and effort with the upkeep of two different lines. In today's world where cell phones have nearly make land lines obsolete, this is a huge advantage. Beyond this VoIP has available features that a traditional phone will not. These are of course specific to the provider of the service and what they are willing to offer.

While VoIP is not without its drawbacks, it is possibly the future of voice communication. As computers are becoming more and more accessible, the need for a separate device to handle voice conversations is becoming less and less. Given a decade or two the kinks inherent in VoIP will likely be worked out and it could replace land lines altogether.<bio>Visit us for more info on Cheap VoIP and Cheapest VoIP.</bio>

With proper care, your child's wooden toys can last for generations. Wooden toys have a hardiness and natural appearance that plastic toys cannot match. As a natural material, wood has an advantage over plastic toys. Wood is not bacteria friendly and is considered an anti-bacterial surface. When this quality is combined with the wood's strength, it is easy to see why wooden toys are a superior toy product when compared to plastic toys.

Wooden toys should be treated with mild cleaners that will not dry out the toy's surface. The best way to maintain wooden toys is to avoid strong chemicals such as bleach and detergents. Both these harsh ingredients can change the appearance of the toy through whitening or drying the surface. Wooden surfaces can absorb harsh ingredients because of the wood's porous nature. Bleach, detergents and other harsh or synthetic cleaners are typical strong chemicals that should be avoided in favor of gentler cleansing ingredients.

You can use mild cleansers such as natural soap or a vinegar solution to cleanse wooden toys effectively. Natural soap will clean the wooden toy without drying out its surface or leaving a chemical residue on the toys surface. Vinegar will cleanse the surface and acts as a mild disinfectant. Depending on the amount of soil on the wooden toy, you with either use a soft brush, damp cloth, cleansing spray or a soapy bath.

A lightly soiled wooden toy is the easiest to clean. When a wooden toy is lightly soiled, you can gently brush any dirt or debris away. If necessary, you can use a soft damp cloth to clean the surface.

For a wooden toy that has a bit more dirt on it, you can add a few drops of liquid natural soap to a spray bottle full of warm water for a cleansing spray. You could also use a 50/50 water and vinegar spray to clean the toy as well. Just spray the surface and quickly wipe the surface clean.

If a toy is heavily soiled, you can wash it briefly in a bath of soapy water. You should avoid leaving the wooden toys submerged in water for any length of time. Water can misshape wooden toys and mar the surface of the grain. Avoid steam cleaning the toy for the same reasons. After cleansing the wooden toy in the soapy bath, quickly rinse the toy and wipe it dry. You can place the toy in the rack to dry. Once the toy is fully dry, it can be used again.

Wooden toys are prone to changes in temperature and humidity. Do not leave wooden toys outside overnight or for long periods. The sun and elements can change the appearance and shape of wooden toys.

When wooden toys are properly maintained, it is possible for many generations of children to enjoy the same wooden toy. Many a grandparent's wooden toy has survived time to land in the happy hands of a beloved grandchild or grandchildren. Wooden toys are valued in many households for their durability and natural beauty.<bio>If you are looking for baby toys to help your child's learning process check out these education toys.</bio>

In past articles we have talked about what asset labels or asset tags are and who should be using them. This article is designed to show people the best method of applying asset labels or asset tags.

Failure to follow these instructions could mean that the labels will not work as expected.

The most important element of applying any kind of security adhesive based identification device is the cleanliness of the surface. The surface needs to be free of dirt and especially any oils or grease as this will prevent a good bond ever being achieved.

I have found that the best method of doing this is simply to clean the surface with an alcohol wipe. You can buy sachets quite cheaply. You simply open the sachet by tearing the top open and take the alcohol cloth out. Then, gently rub the area of the equipment where you intend to apply the label.

You will find that the alcohol may take 30 seconds to evaporate, however when this has completed the surface should be free of any contaminants.

Now, as these labels are highly tacky you need to make sure you get the label on straight because, in some grades of materials - especially the void material and the destructible, it is impossible to reposition them without damaging them.

Sometimes I recommend you mark out the corners with a little marker pen so you have a rough idea of it being on "square" - note, only do this before you wipe with alcohol as the ink in the pen itself may prevent the adhesive from grabbing.

The next stage is to wait. With vinyl destructible I'd recommend 2 hours for 40% strength, 1 day for 60% strength and 3 days for 100% strength. It really does take that long for the adhesive to cure.

I hope this has helped. <bio>This article was brought to you by Jennifer Shepherd of Seareach Limited, based in the UK. http://www.seareach.plc.uk </bio>

I have always been a fan of air hockey tables and the game played on them. While they have, throughout memory, been something I've seen nearly everywhere -- church basements, arcades, bowling alleys and college dorms -- I've sort of always taken them for granted. But what is the truth behind them? Is what I know fact or fiction?

Air hockey tables have been around since God. --- This is fiction. The game of air hockey, along with the table on which to play it is only about 30 years old. Invented in 1972 by an engineer named Bob Lemieux at Brunswick Billiards, air hockey is fairly new in the world of games tables.

All air hockey tables use air. --- This, too, is fiction. In reality, there are many different types of surfaces on which one can play a game of "air hockey". Since the name itself is patented, producers of other tables which feature a slick surface, but no air. This is especially true in the smaller, tabletop models and the portable ones as well.

Air hockey is a casual game. --- Nope. Not true at all. In fact, soon after the game was invented, leagues began popping up and today tournaments are played internationally.

Air hockey is an American game. --- Wrong again. While the game itself was invented in Cincinnati, Ohio, its popularity has spread throughout the world. Russia, Venezuela, the Czech Republic and Spain have all had players win or place in world tournaments.

Everyone has always played air hockey. --- Again, not true. While the game was an instant success, with leagues springing up all over the place and sales going through the roof, air hockey fell out of favor for a few years in the early 80s, when video game arcades became popular.

Air hockey can be played by anyone. --- True. Air hockey is a fun game that anyone can enjoy. Grandkids can play with their grandparents. Husband and wife can spar off in a friendly game. Siblings, cousins and friends can all play and have fun while doing so.

Air hockey tables are big and expensive. --- Well, this one is a yes and no answer. If you are looking for a regulation, 8-foot table, it can get fairly pricey -- around $2,000 - $5,000. If you have the space and budget for it, that's great. But there are tables available in everything from a 4-foot table top for about $100 up to the big 8-footers.

You have to know ice hockey rules to play air hockey. --- Not at all. If all you're interested in is knocking the puck around for awhile, that's great. Play until someone has scored 7 goals and you're done. If, however, you want to "play by the rules", check out the USAA (United States Air Hockey Association), where you can find out all the rules.

Air hockey has a surprising rich history and devoted fan-base. People all over the world love this game and enjoy it. Can you count yourself among them?<bio>Find the best game tables available at Premiere Game Tables.
Ready to buy a new pool table but not sure what size to get? Check out our tips for choosing the best size pool table to fit comfortably in your game room. First we will go over the standard table sizes and standard cue sizes and go from there...

Table sizes are all measured by the playing surface (across the shorter side of the table from the cloth covered nose of the cushion rubber to the opposite cushion rubber nose) See diagram on http://www.gameroompimps.com/replacementfelts.htm.

The Standard Pool Table Sizes are:

7 Feet - 39andquot; x 78andquot; Playing Surface 8 Feet - 44andquot; x 88andquot; Playing Surface 8 Feet Oversized - 46andquot; x 92andquot; Playing Surface 9 Feet - 50andquot; x 100andquot; Playing Surface

The 7 foot tables are usually the size tables you find in bars or coin-op pool halls. The larger the table, the bigger the challenge. Most people prefer the 8 foot size because it is just the perfect level of challenge for casual players. Serious players often prefer the 9 foot size, though they usually have to go for the smaller 8 foot table due to room size constraints.

Speaking of which...there is something that you may or may not know about those room size charts you see all over the internet. They often underestimate the amount of space you need to play pool comfortably and properly. First you have to consider the size of your pool cue. Let's say you went for the smaller standard 52andquot; cue. You need to allow for not only the length of the cue, but also at least 4 inches for stroke. So with a 52andquot; cue plus 4andquot; for stroke on each side of the table, you will need a minimum of 112andquot; around your table for optimal play. For an 8 foot table that has a 44andquot; x 88andquot; playing field, your room should ideally be 13 feet wide by 17 feet long.

If you are really really close to that size, but a tad smaller, you may be able to get the 8 foot table as long as you purchase shorter cues. Cues do come in a 48andquot; size that will decrease the area needed around to table by as much as 2 feet. Doesn't sound like much, but 2 feet can make all the difference in the world. If you have any questions or need some advice on choosing the right pool cue for you, just ask a pimp! <bio>For more information about game rooms and supplies, please vis Chris Hinde's website, http://www.gameroompimps.com </bio>

Every mountain biker worth his or her salt will want to try the Slick Rock Trail, located in Moab, Utah - one of the most challenging mountain biking trails in the world.

Every sport has its "ultimate" challenge. Golf has the Augusta National - host of the Masters tournament, Tennis has the grass courts of Wimbledon, car racing has the Daytona International Speedway, home of the Daytona 500.

Mountain Biking has the Slickrock Bike Trail in Moab, Utah.

The Slickrock Bike Trail is a 9.6 mile trail which most experts consider to be "the ultimate mountain biking experience." There's plenty of "easy and scenic" bike trails as well, but for the ultimate ride, Slickrock is it.

Moab is located in eastern Utah, about 230 miles east of Salt Lake City, or 350 miles west of Denver, Colorado. The origin of the name of Moab for this once small town (incorporated in 1902) are unclear, but now the name is iconic for great mountain biking.

Moab isn't a big city - only about 5,000 people live there, but they get plenty of tourist traffic - so much so that you'll find over thirty hotels and motels, ten bed and breakfasts, two resorts, 26 guest houses, and fifteen privately owned campgrounds. There are also over a dozen public campgrounds in the national parks nearby.

Tourists don't just come for the mountain biking, of course. There's off-road jeep trails, hiking, camping, and motorcycling...there's even the Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail, on which you can walk and see traces of dinosaur bones of a variety of species.

The first thing any visitor to Moab should do is visit their Visitor's Center, which will have brochures for every activity under the sun, trail maps and more. If you're new to Moab you do not want to go anywhere without a selection of trailmaps, and you should never go anywhere without letting someone know where you're going and when you plan to be back. Better still, always hike or bike with a buddy who can help you out in case of trouble.

If you're a beginner, there are plenty of tour operators - mountain biking, white river rafting, skydiving - who can take you to the right places and ensure you have a good time.

As you ride along on your bike you may see others littering or misbehaving, and wonder why you are supposed to have the "least possible impact" on their environment...but that's just the way things are. Be responsible for your own personal "footprint", even if you can't control what other people do.

Moab biking trails consist of what's called "Slick Rock." I'll get to that in a little bit. For now, here's the list of good practices.

1) Ride only on open roads and trails 2) Learn to recognize and preserve cryptobiotic soil crusts. Okay - that's going to be tough. Wait until you get to Moab and then have someone point them out to you. 3) Avoid skidding your tires 4) When it's wet, avoid clay- like surfaces. Stay on the rocky, slickrock or sandy areas 5) Don't ride along the sides of streams 6) Don't pollute the water resources

Mountain Bike Trails 1) Over 100,000 people a year ride on the Slick Rock Trail - so named because its a trail of "naked" sandstone - stone that can hold onto your bike's tires at "gravity defying angles." The trail is rated a "Class 4" - 4 being the hardest class.

The trail is twelve miles long, and if you weren't concentrating on the ground in front of you you'd see that it crosses an elevated platform of sandstone surrounded by cliffs and#8211; cut by the Colorado River over millions of years. You'll be able to view canyons, see Arches National Park across the river, and the La Sal Mountains on the eastern skyline.

The trail is a 12-mile long loop (if you don't take any side trips) and will take at least four hours. Make sure you bring a lot of extra water with you. You can bike on the trail from mid-February through November, but of course is most popular through spring and fall.

The trail is in the Sand Flats Recreation Area, and there is a small fee enter. The fee pays for the maintenance of the entire area.

2) The Porcupine Rim Trail, also located in the Sand Flats Recreation Area, is also rated a Category 4. This is a one way trail and takes about half-a-day to ride.

However, if your family is full of both skilled mountain bikers and beginners, don't despair. There's plenty of other easy mountain biking trails in this beautiful area.- such as the Bar M Loop. <bio>Alastair Hamilton is the author of more resources published at http://www.bikecyclingreviews.com . Travertine is well liked for its unique look that comes mostly from how it was formed.

Travertine is formed when minerals dissolve in ground water and become deposited at the ground surface through water sources. As it forms gases get trapped and leave pits and craters in the stone which gives travertine its unique look.

Travertine is know for being long lasting and consistent. When it comes to stone finding consistence can be difficult, but most travertine is consistent and easy to use as a flooring choice.

The different colors of travertine flooring range from a darker brown to a light, almost white brown. Sometimes the stone may contain veins or specks of other colors.

The main differences in the types of travertine stone is the color and the finish. As mentioned, there are a range of different colors, mostly browns, whites and gold. The color is defined during the formation process. Also, there are going to be variances in the stone in regards to veins and speckling of coloring. When the travertine flooring is made it cut from a large piece of travertine, so to get the best color consistency a person would want to get all their flooring from the same batch. However, as mentioned, travertine is rather consistent in its coloring, so even if a person needs to select their flooring from a couple different batches they should still be fine.

There are four finishes that are most common with travertine flooring. Travertine flooring can be polished, honed, brushed or tumbled. The finish will basically determine how the surface will look in regards to shine and texture.

A polished travertine floor tile is going to be the most shiny and smooth. A honed surface is going to have a matte look to it, but it also has a smooth surface. A crushed surface is not going to have as much shine and it will have a slightly textured surface. A tumbled travertine floor tile is going to be a highly textured surface with the least amount of shine. The most popular choice is usually the honed travertine floor tile.

Travertine floor tiles can also be cut differently to give them a different appearance and style. Travertine is usually cut with the grain, but there are also cross cut types, which are cut against the grain. The type of cut will result in more texture to the tile.

The look of a travertine floor tile is also altered sometimes by man. When a company prepares the floor tiles, by cutting them and choosing the surface type, they may also fill in holes or craters in the stone with an epoxy to make it smooth. Other times the texture is left and the tile is sold as it was cut.

Travertine flooring is a very durable stone flooring choice when compared to other more fragile choices. Other stone flooring has a higher risk of being broken or chipped. People choose travertine because it can stand up to the demands made on flooring.

Travertine flooring does require some maintenance and regular care because of its natural design. However, it is worth the time taken to care for it because of its unique look and natural beauty.

Travertine flooring is an expensive choice, but it adds a beauty that is unmatched to any home. It is unique and it is natural, which makes it a popular choice. Travertine flooring is something that a person can use inside and outside. It can be used almost anywhere in the home.

Sources: www.findstone.com www.bohemianrange.com www.guide4home.com www.builddirect.com <bio>To learn more on this subject, marlon recommends you visit http://www.woodfloorsoutlet.com </bio>
