Some people that use make up have no idea that their lipstick and eye shadow does not match their skin tone. Because of this ther look can look dull or not very natural. Many women will spend time looking for beauty tips, but only a few women know that the most important tip to master is working out skin tones.

Skin tone can range from no color to a very dark color in people. The type and amount of melanin on your skin determines your skin tone. Generally, women have lighter skin tones than men. Traditional beauty tips have introduced a number of ways to determine skin tones. However, the most effective method is by using the gold and silver test. This test is done by placing a gold swatch and silver swatch on each of your hands. Place your hands under any kind of light, except fluorescent lights (which tends to change a person's skin tones).

Examine which hand looks pale and which looks healthy. If the better-looking hand has the gold swatch, you're considered a person with "warm skin tones". On the other hand, if the silver swatch looks better on your hand, you have "cool skin tones". Be aware that this simple test is the most effective beauty tip you will receive because it will enable you to choose cosmetics that would complement your skin. You can easily pick out undertones based on the hue of your skin type.

Matching Skin Tones and Hair Color

Although you have mastered wearing the right colors of makeup, your whole appearance can still look wrong when your hair color and makeup does not match. Because of this, you should follow this next important beauty tip to balance your whole look.

Since you are now aware of your skin tone, it is easier to choose the perfect hair color for you. For gold skin types, you should consider warm hair colors such as gold, orange, golden yellow, red-orange and shades of red. On the other hand, silver skin types are perfect for cool hair colors with the bases of violet, blue-violet, blue and neutral colors. If you find it difficult to determine both your skin tone and matching hair color, it is better to consult with a professional stylist to identify the ideal colors for you. However, if you prefer to do your own makeup and hair coloring, these beauty tips can serve you well. <bio>For more beauty tips and beauty advice please visit http://www.beauty-salon-service.com </bio>

Someone who felt that her acne had made her face darker asked this question. What is the truth? Can acne make the face darker? If yes, what happens in the process? If no, why there is no possibility of face skin becoming darker with acne? Let us find out.

Face color-

How does skin get the color? What factors decide the color of the skin? The melanin pigment in skin makes skin look colored. In people with dark colored skin, the density of melanin is high. In people of fair skin the density is low. The skin can get darker only if more melanin is produced. This happens during tanning.

Melanin is formed by melanocytes that are scattered in the last layer of the epidermis. This layer is also called the basal layer. Melanocytes manufacture melanin and send it across to other parts of skin in a pack. This pack is called melanosome. The skin cells absorb these melanosomes and melanin is extracted. Melanin surrounds the DNA in the nucleus of the cell and protects the cell against sun.

Acne- It's Effect On Skin?

Acne makes skin look spotted. It is surely very bad looking. When acne resolves, it forms scar tissue. These are called acne scars. Most of the times the scar tissues have higher density of melanin. The scars look darker than the surrounding skin. If acne resolves without any scar, the color left may be darkish red that resolves slowly. Another change called Post Inflammatory Hyper pigmentation may take place. This hyper pigmentation is seen at the site of acne. This color takes time to fade away but it is not permanent like a scar.

Acne does not make face darker. It's the scar tissue that is formed after acne resolves that makes face look darker, but that will also happen only if the spots are many. Otherwise some scars are seen. No darkness is seen all over the skin with acne. <bio>The author CD Mohatta writes for http://www.acnedoctor.us which has comprehensive information about skin care, acne treatments, causes, medicines, myths, latest methods, etc. The author also writes quizzes for http://www.funquizcards.com and text for content in http://www.wishafriend.com </bio>

"One of the biggest problems that people run up against when trying to figure out which tanning lotions to use is that they aren't quite sure what they're skin type is. Sure, it's relatively easy for the ""Type 1"" and ""Type 6"" people to know what their skin type is since they're at such extreme ends of the spectrum. But those people falling in to the Type 2 =96 5 category often have trouble telling if they're more a Type 3 than a Type 2 or more of a 4 than a 5. Here is some assistance in figuring out not only your skin type but which tanning lotions are best for that skin type.

Type 1 skin is the very pale end of the spectrum, the kind of skin that never tans naturally and always burns easily in the sun. People in this part of the spectrum used to be told that they couldn't use tanning lotions successfully but that's not entirely true. If you're in this type, you do need to be careful. But you can use light sunless tanning lotions designed to give a glow to Type 1 skin.

Type 2 skin is also pale but can tan naturally in some cases and can benefit from tanning lotions. Type 2 skin does still burn easily so instead of looking at indoor tanning lotions, you'll want to look at sunless tanning lotions.

Type 3 skin is a skin type that does equally well with sunless tanning lotions and indoor tanning lotions. However, time in the indoor tanning salon bed should be kept to a minimum. This skin does still burn when exposed to sun. If your skin burns fairly easily but will also tan with a tan that turns darker after about a day, you're a Type 3.

Type 4 skin also tans with a tan that gradually increases in darkness. The difference between Type 4 and Type 3 is that Type 3 skin is prone to burning but may tan whereas Type 4 skin is prone to tanning but may burn. If you have Type 4 skin, you should you indoor tanning lotions with a tan extender to prolong the development of the tan. You can also use dark sunless tanning lotions with a high percentage of DHA in them.

Type 5 skin is the kind of skin that will burn if you're out in the sun for seven hour straight but otherwise doesn't burn. It is dark skin which tans slightly to a darker color. This kind of skin will benefit from indoor tanning lotions and appropriately lengthy tanning salon sessions. Sunless tanning lotions are unlikely to produce any real effect.

Type 6 skin is the darkest skin color which never burns. Although this skin may not get darker by using indoor tanning lotions, it can benefit by getting a more even color. The indoor tanning lotions will also moisturize the skin and make it appear healthier.

See, figuring out your tanning skin type and the right indoor and sunless tanning lotions to go with it wasn't that hard after all, was it? If you're still struggling, though, ask a professional at your local salon. They've seen at all and should be able to tell you at a glance." <bio>Baxter Owens is the developer of http://www.TanTans.com, an ultra premium Discount Tanning Lotion website and vendor. http://TanTans.com offers premium tanning lotion at discount, wholesale prices, including Hempz Tann </bio>

Be it natural tanning or artificial tanning, tanning lotions are needed for both. In fact with the introduction of tanning lotions, tanning industry has witnessed a real boon. For, these lotions not only provide you the necessary protection and care while tanning but also compliment the desired tan color.

If you apply tanning lotion before undergoing a suntan, you would greatly save your skin from sunburns and other harmful effects of exposure to sun light. Some of the tanning lotions also help you attain a permanent tan color. These lotions are also meant to offer necessary glow to the tan color gained through indoor tanning.

There are a good number of such lotions available in the market but you should go for the one that has been approved by skin care specialist. Lotions that come with Spf formula have gained great acceptance for salon tanning as well as sun tanning.

Most of the superior quality tanning lotions come with antioxidant properties as it possess vitamin A, E and C. Because of these components lotions cast an enhancing impact on skin and help remove wrinkles from the face.

Lotions are meant for only specific method of tanning. For example, a suntan lotion can't be used for indoor tanning or tanning through bed lamp. For tanning beds special lotions are available that could be applied on the body before lying on the bed for ultraviolet exposure.

Before using a tanning lotion you must ensure that lotion is perfect for your skin. For that you should better consult a skin care specialist to find out the nature of your skin. Lotion suited to oily skins would never suit to the people with dry skin. Once you get to know the nature of your skin, it becomes easier to zoom in on one tanning lotion.

These lotions are used for three purposes. The first purpose is to offer necessary oxygen to the skin to increase the process of getting tan color. The second purpose is to keep the skin moist. And the third and vital purpose is to extend necessary nutrients to skin. These three purposes in confluence help maintain the tan color of skin.

Last but not the least, always stick to one particular type of lotion, if you love to be in tan color all the time. If you don't do so, you would end up harming yourself. <bio>The author writes about a number of different topics.
Have you ever seen a woman with a hair color you absolutely loved--you asked her what color it was, she told you and you went right out and bought the same color. You applied it according to directions--and your hair looked completely wrong. I've learned the hard way that unless I have similar skin tone to the woman wearing the color I love, I will save myself a lot of grief if I just complement her on her great color, and let it go.

It is not just a matter of finding a color that looks great on the box. Your skin tone, your eye color, and your natural hair color must be considered when you look for a hair color for you.

First, and most important, you need to determine whether your skin tone is warm or cool. The best way to determine this is to stand by a window and hold your inner arm next to a sheet of white paper.

Is your skin primarily tan, peachy or gold? Or does your medium skin have a greenish undertone? If you are brown-skinned, is there a gold or cinnamon undertone? If so, then your skin tone is warm. Your eye color is probably green, hazel, golden brown, or red-brown. You might have gold or brown fleck in your eyes. Your natural hair color as a child could have ranged from a natural golden blonde, strawberry blonde to red, golden brown or a deep brown with gold or red highlights. As you gray, your hair probably has a yellow cast. These are attributes of warm skin people.

If your skin has a cool tone, your arm will appear bluish next to the white paper. Your skin will have a pink undertone. If your skin is brown it will be a deep brown or a black brown. Your eyes will be blue, gray, hazel with white or blue flecks, or very dark brown. As a child, your hair color could have been very pale blonde, or a darker blonde, or a medium to dark brown that did not look gold in the sun; or your hair would have been coffee-colored, or blue-black. Your hair, as it grays, turns white. These are all cool tones.

The trick to getting a hair color that looks good on you, is to stay with the skin tone God gave you. People with warm skin tones look best in warm colors. Cool skin tones look best with cool colors. Choosing a hair that does not complement your natural coloring will result in an unpleasant disharmony, no matter how pretty the color is on the box. If the natural undertone of your hair is warm, and you try putting a cool blue or violet-based hair color on it, it is somewhat like mixing yellow and blue. Your hair will probably have a greenish cast.

If you read the labels on the hair coloring boxes, most will give you a clue as to whether they are warm or cool colors. The word "ash" on a label means cool. As discussed in the previous paragraph, if your coloring is warm, don't use an "ash", or you may wind up getting green looking hair.

You can color your hair any color you would like. Blonde, red, brown, gray and black all come in warm or in cool tones.

The safest way is to follow your skin tone and choose a color that goes with that tone. You can go lighter, darker, or intensify--just stay with the same tone.

The same goes for highlighting your hair. Warm-toned people lighten with pale gold, bright gold, russet, warm brown. Cool-toned people lighten with white, platinum, cocoa.

Even the exciting crayon-color accents that you see on young people can coordinate with skin tone. There are yellows, oranges, lime-greens, and rusts for the warm-toned, and fuchsia, electric blue, purple and black for the cool-toned. <bio>Pat McGuire is the staff writer for http://www.secrethomeshopping.com and http://www.terrierdogs.biz and http://www.cruise--travel.com </bio>

You can go lighter, darker, or intensify=97just stay with the same tone.

When using tanning beds properly it will give you a natural look to your wintry pale skin. When exposed to UVB rays it will stimulate and produce skin pigment called is melanin which makes your skin turn dark. Any type of exposure to UVB rays is not good; if you are exposed for any amount of time you will need to have some type of protection. If you have a family history of skin cancer, its all the more reason to take extra cautions. Some older tanning beds use the older style of lamps, these lamps emit UV A rays which is not good for your skin. There have been reports that UV A radiation has been know to cause cancer of the skin. It has been reported that skin cancer is on the rise, with the ozone depleting and the popularity of tanning beds.

Today, devices that emit a combination of UVA and UVB are predominantly used. If you expose your skin to UV rays many different types of complications can occur, you could get skin rashes, skin will age you might get skin cancer. Exposure to UVB can cause skin burning; the best protection against this is to cover up your skin. 99% of the sun's UV radiation at sea level is UVA. The UV that is dangerous to your skin is the UVB; this is the rays that can cause aging, blotches, wrinkles and even cancer. It is the UVA and UVB rays that are the most harmful to our skin. UVB is easier to protect against than UVA, but both cause very real damage.

When exposing your skin to UV rays it is very possible it will cause premature spots, blemishes, aging and maybe skin cancer. Using a bit of precaution such as purchasing a good tanning lotion or attending one of your local sunless tanning salons is a good first step to protecting yourself. Tanning beds have become very popular because everyone wants a natural looking tan, many people have been purchasing home beds to tan themselves.

When tanning lotions first came out on the market they made everyone look orange, today they improved this and now people look like they really have a tan. Today the self tanners come in many shades, since everyone does not have the same skin pigment it is easier to match your skin type. When using tanning sprays or self tanners the color does not last very long, on average it lasts about 5 to 7 days. Getting a tan without the sun has becoming very popular because it reduces the risks of getting skin diseases. Tanning sprays have become more advanced since they were developed, they protect your skin against the sun and give you a tan without needing the sun, and some even have moistures in them to enrich your skin.

One of the drawbacks of these tanning lotions that dye your skin is that they do not last very long and you need to keep applying it to keep the color constant. The reason for this is because your skin continuously sheds old skin and replenishes your body with new skin so you will loose the color from the tanner. Also, you should test the tanner on a hidden part of your body before applying it over all of your skin. <bio>David Marc Fishman owns a skin care website at http://www.skonskinn.com </bio>

The danger of exposure to the ultraviolet lights of the sun and tanning beds has been well established. The only safe tan is a fake tan. Using a sunless suntan lotion is the best way to get the color you want without the risks to your health. Skin cancer and premature aging of the skin are the most common health dangers resulting from exposure to UV rays.

Sunless tanning products are available in a wide range of formulas. You will find them for every skin type and color. It's important to choose a product that is made for your skin type for the best results. Using a darker formula on very light skin can result in skin discoloration and an orange hue to the skin. Many products are marked for light or fair skin.

Using Sunless Suntan Lotion at Home

A variety of self tanning products are available for home use, including sprays, crème and lotions. Even application is essential for even color. Colored lotions are available that allow you to see exactly where you have applied the product. You will be able to see any missed areas. As the lotion soaks in, the color fades. Apply to thicker areas of the skin, such as the elbows, knees and ankles last to avoid darker color in these areas. Wear plastic gloves during application to keep the palms of the hands from getting stained.

Prepare your skin before applying the tanner. Shower and use an exfoliating product to remove dead skin cells. This will help with even absorption. If you take time to prepare your skin, you will get better coverage and your color will last longer. Some self tanners come in a complete kit with the lotion and an exfoliating product.

Sunless tan products take up to an hour to work. For an all over tan without tan lines, apply the product in the nude. It can take up to an hour for the product to soak in and begin to work. The effect will last approximately one week. To maintain your color, re apply the lotion every three to five days. You can make this part of your regular beauty routine, or just use them for vacation or a special occasion.

Suntan Lotion in a Booth

If you want a great safe tan, but don't want the hassle of applying the lotions, consider visiting a salon for a spray on tan. These use products like Mystic Tan or Sunshower. They are applied by spray nozzles, while you stand in a booth. The process only takes a few minutes, but the full effect won't be seen for several hours. Most solutions have a bronzer that will give some immediate results. This initial color will darken throughout the day.

Your spray on tan will last between one and two weeks, depending on your skin. Shaving, chlorine and sitting in the sand will make your skin exfoliate faster and your tan will fade quicker. An extending moisturizer can help extend your tan. You can use a home tanning product in between booth sessions to keep your color. <bio>Ken Morris is the founder of the internet site http://www.tanning-lotions-tips.com..
Follow this advice to quickly and easily change your image;

and#8721; Foundation will transform your face:

If you don't use foundation we recommend you acquire one which suits your skin type. You'll see how your skin becomes totally uniform, with your face ready for the color to go on!

If you already use foundation, try using corrector (if the product is light enough) over the foundation, to add light to your gaze. Smooth it out with your fingertips to remove excess product. You'll be shedding off the years!

and#8721; Bring out the color of your eyes;

Try out a different color eyeshadow, one that brings out the color of your eyes.

and#8721; Change your mascara and your gaze will change;

If you've had the same mascara for over three months, then it's time for a change. Acquire a different one, unless you are really pleased with the one you have. Try out one which lengthens your lashes, or thickens them, and remember to always double-layer it.

and#8721; Give color to your cheeks;

Are you putting the blusher on correctly? Follow the shape of your cheekbone to get it right, smile and apply the color with the brush, then blend it with a loose powder brush (normally thicker than rouge ones), for a natural finish.

And --why not?- unless your skin is very rosy, put on a touch of pink rouge (you can also use a pale rosewood color shadow) in the center of your cheek. This'll automatically bring a different touch to your look.

and#8721; Smile with gusto:

If you never wear make up on your lips: -start now! Which color will flatter you most? -The one closest to the color of your lips, in a darker or lighter tone. Put transparent lip gloss on.
One of the most important parts of your house is your window. This connects you to the outside world when you are inside your house. It allows you to visualize what is outside your house without having to leave your home. This is why you need to decorate your window with designs that suits your taste.

However, during summer or sunny days, too much light might enter your house and sometimes, it can be irritating to both eyes and skin. You also need some privacy especially if you are with your family. This is why you need to cover your window with blinds.

Blinds are more popular than curtains. You will notice if you go out your house and visit some other house, most of the houses are using blinds instead of curtains. Public buildings and offices use blinds for privacy, protection and over all coverage. It comes with variety of styles, colors, shape and designs. These are called the window blind skin. You can always personalize the look of your window with window blind skin.

Blinds are longer lasting compared to any material made up of fabric. Blinds are easier to maintain, clean and it protects your furniture, carpets, figurines and many other materials found in your living room from the harmful and destructive bright ultraviolet rays from the sun.

Aside from this protection, it can give your home a sophisticated look according to the window blind skin you choose. There are plenty of window blind skins for you. You only have to be creative and have a distinctive taste in choosing which window blind skin is best for your home.

Of course, window blind skin must complement the color of your house. If your walls and ceilings are light colored, choose a dark colored window blind skin. If your house have light painted ceiling, furnishings and walls, choose a bright colored window blind skin.

It also depends on the theme of your room. For example, if your room's motif is color blue, choose a shade that will blend to the color you choose. Like if you have dark blue walls, bed and carpet, you can choose color like light blue to blend with its motif. This is great for offices, kitchen, comfort rooms and bed rooms.

The window blind skin depends on your artistic side. If you choose well, your blinds will not only serve as a cover to your window but a trendy design to your house. So choose the best design of window blind skin and add more life to your house. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy. It may be used only in its entirety with all links included.
All brides will agree that choosing the right wedding gown is not an easy task. Obviously, the best way to choose the wedding dress is to try to put it on. It will be impossible to determine whether it fits you or not if you do not try it.

Although there is no doubt that you have to try to put the gown on, you still need to find some way to evaluate it. You can consider the following issues when you are selecting your gown.

The color of your skin

The very first thing you need to consider is the color of your skin. You need to see if the color of the gown match your skin color. If your skin is of light color, you will probably have more choices for the gown. Both white and some darker color gown can be good for you. On the contrary, if you have skin of darker color, it will be more difficult to tell until you really try the dress. You should make sure that you can have some make up before trying the gown. Otherwise it will be difficult to evaluate if the gown will look good on you on your big day.

Your body shape

No two brides will have the same body shape. Your body shape will affect how it looks when you put on the wedding gown. As a result, you have to review your own body shape. You need to thoroughly understand what are the strength and weakness about your body shape.

You need to choose a wedding dress which can accentuate the strength of your body shape. In order words the gown should make you look more beautiful. In most cases it should make you look slimmer. In order to keep a good body shape, you may try to do some exercises half hear before your big day. You may go to the fitness center with your fiance together so that you will have the motivation to do exercises. In fact this is also good for your fiance since he may also need to keep a good body shape in order to be the fittest groom on the wedding.

The budget

You will need to consider the budget for your wedding items. This is especially true if you are on a tight budget. You will also need to think about the budget for your wedding dress. It is certain that one of the best ways to get a perfect gown is to have a gown designer to design and make the wedding dress for you. However, it will certainly mean a higher budget.

On the other hand, you may also consider renting a gown. Renting a gown does not only save you money but also help to protect our environment. Renting a gown does not necessarily mean more limited choices. You can select from a large range of collections of wedding dresses. You should allow a period at least six months to order your gown no matter you are going to have it tailored-made or rented. <bio>TM Lung is a wedding invitation designer.
Epilation performed by laser was performed experimentally for about 20 years before it became commercially available in the mid 1990s. Laser and light-based methods are sometimes called phototricholysis or photoepilation.

Laser hair removal works by sending a beam of laser light to a group of hair follicles with enough power to disable or destroy the root. If done properly, there should be no damage to the surrounding skin area. Experts say that andquot;Laser hair removal only destroys hair in its active growth phase, the anagen phase. This phase lasts several years, and up to 85% of our hair is in that phase at any given timeandquot;.

Laser hair removal can prove rapid, gentle removal of unwanted hair. Cheaper than traditional electrolysis, it can still cost over $1,000 for multiple treatments to get the job completed. Small areas, such as the upper lip, can be less.

There are some requirements before you consider, laser hair removal. One absolute requirement is that the surrounding skin color be lighter than your hair.

In addition, people with dark skin are not good candidates for laser hair removal as they absorb too much or the laser energy into their skin. Even tanned persons should wait until their skin returns to normal color before the laser hair removal treatments.

Many areas of the body can benefit from this procedure. Any area, except near the eye, including the face, upper lip, neck, chest, underarms, back, abdomen, bikini line, and legs can have laser hair removal.

The one then to remember is that this procedure is usually permanent unlike many of the traditional methods of hair removal.

Problems that can occur include pigmentary or color change or of the skin, including either dark or light areas. Fortunately, although these color changes may persist for months, they are almost always temporary. Further, improper treatment can cause burns, lesions, skin discoloration lasting several months, or patchy re-growth.

You should also consider this about laser hair removal. Even if you are not the andquot;ideal candidateandquot;, you can still enjoy some benefits of laser hair removal. A medical practitioner can discuss with you your own hair and skin color combination and what type of laser hair removal treatment might work for you. <bio>Unwanted hair on certain parts of your body can be an annoying problem for some people. Fortunately, science has found a good alternative to shaving, plucking, and peeling that unwanted hair away. It is called laser hair removal. http://1laboranddelivery.info </bio>

You can get skin care samples at almost any skin care shop, for different types of skin related problems. Skin care samples allow you to try out new skin care products that are on the market today, so that you can decide whether or not they are suitable for you. You can get skin care samples from stores, magazines, over the internet, through advertisements in the papers and through television and radio shows. Of course, skin care samples are given out by different companies to lure you into buying their products.

There are many different types of skin care samples readily available for you. All major beauty care companies will have samples of their latest products displayed in stores. You can find samples from leading beauty care brands like Maybelline, Cover Girl, L'Oreal and many others. Each of these companies will have a variety of product samples for you to choose from. There are many types of skin care samples, such as, facial wash, facial scrubs, cover ups, acne and pimple medicine, soaps, moisturizers and many more.

When you are looking for that special skin care product, you should not try any random one simply because it is cheap. Instead, you need to think about the quality of it and how your skin will react to it. There are many different types of skin care products available today, so you must be sure to test them out at various parts of your skin to check if you have any allergic reactions to them. There are many kinds of chemicals and ingredients in skin care products that might cause a bad reaction to your skin. Watch out for them as these may be things that you might not even know you are allergic to!

Everyone's skin is of a different color or tone. When picking a product that is right for you, try only the ones that look like they complement your skin. Before you leave the house to buy a cover up or foundation that looks similar to your skin tone, remember that it might turn out darker or lighter when you actually put it on. Try out samples of the product that you are considering to buy to ensure that it is suitable for you.

Something you should always remember is that you ought to stop using products that do not work for you. They will not start working later if they are not able to show results after a period of time. Dispose them and move on to another product. Nonetheless, you may already have a skin care product that you are comfortable with. But, it is still a good idea to try out different skin care samples because there may be another product out there that will work better for you.

However, one thing that you should avoid doing is mixing the products, unless, it is specifically stated on the bottle that you can mix the product with another. If you mix certain skin care products with others, you may get chemical reactions that will damage your skin. You face could swell up, you could get a rash or even a burn. The risks can be quite serious when it is done. As such, you need to know the risks of all the products that you use because you are responsible for your own skin.

Skin care samples are useful for helping you manage your skin.
Skin, the largest organ in our body is made up of multiple layers of epithelial tissues that guard the underlying muscles and organs of our. Skin pigmentation (human skin color) on the other hand varies among peoples of the world. Skin color is determined by the amount of melanin, the pigment in the skin. More concentration of melanin in the body will give you a dark person so it goes without saying that a light-skinned person would have less of the melanin compound in the body.

African-American skin have that distinction of having the most of melanin concentration in the body and studies show that this melanin content in African-American skin has a greater tendency to hyper-pigmentation, or specks of darker colored skin surface that may appear as blemishes over time if not protected properly. This is one important consideration to take in choosing the right skin care product.

There is nothing really fancy in caring for the African American skin, dry skin being a much more common condition for this skin type. Body nourishment is the key. Drinking plenty of fluids will help prevent skin dryness and keep it radiant. A moisturizer is very essential to keep the skin soft and smooth. Choose moisturizers that are hypoallergenic and oil-free. A good moisturizer should absorb into your skin without a trace, creating an invisible barrier against moisture loss. When cleansing your skin, use a non-soap cleanser. Soap will dry and irritate your skin. Be sure to use warm water as well since water that is too hot will also dry out the skin.

African Americans also often have trouble with an oily complexion due to the fact that their skin has more, and larger, sebaceous (or oil) glands than Caucasian or Asian skin. The large number of sebaceous glands can produce unwanted oily or shiny appearance. If these oil glands are over-active they can become clogged and cause acne to break out on the skin. For the very oily or acne-prone skin, an oil-control lotion will help eliminate shine for hours.

Exfoliate with a mild and gentle exfoliate that can be used daily. Exfoliating rids the skin of dead skin cell, and clears the pores so they can accept more moisture. For blemish prone skin, using an exfoliating product with salicylic acid will aid in clearing any break out.

Another important consideration is the regular use of sunscreen. While more melanin content in the body can help protect from the sun, a lot of unprotected skin exposure to it can cause the dreaded skin cancer. It is highly recommended to use one with an SPF 30 at the very least.

Facial skin, no matter the type needs to be cared for always. It is that part of the body that we look at first at anytime. No other part of our body is subjected to so much scrutiny as the face, so better to always have it healthy, radiant and blemish free. Let us make intelligent efforts to meet this end and in doing so, it gives us the confidence we need that ultimately transcends all skin color prejudices.<bio>Skincare, acne and health expert.
Sunless tanning, also known as indoor tanning, is becoming much popular these days. As the term implies, sunless tanning is the process of attaining a suntan by sunless means. The main reason behind the popularity of sunless tanning is that there are several people who live in a place where constant sunshine is not available and most of the people cannot afford such a vacation every month to top up their tans. Another reason why people are more attracted with sunless tanning is that the regular and constant exposure to the sun rays increases the chances of contracting skin cancer. Sunless tanning offers several harmless and easy ways for people to achieve the desired result.

Sunless tanning can take the form of tanning lotions, tanning sprays, tanning beds, and tanning pills. The results and efficiency of these methods differs from one another. Let us look on the four main sunless tanning methods:

Sunless Tanning Lotion

Majority of the sunless tanning lotions come with the bronzing ingredient dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA is a colorless sugar which can interact with dead skin cells resulting in a color change to that skin. Generally this change in color lasts for five to seven days from the initial application. Using sunless tanning lotions is a well liked method for sunless tanning. However, the only drawback is that, getting an even tan is very difficult.

Spray Tanning

Spray tanning is also the same as tanning lotion; the only difference is that tanning solution used here is a spray. Spray tanning can be done manually by a spray gun. If you wish to use it automatically then you can go for a tanning booth. A recent development in spray tanning is the colorless tanning solution. The solution does not have bronzer and affords a less streaky, more even tan.

Tanning Beds

Tanning beds, also known as sunbeds, feature fluorescent tubesto tan the applicants' skin by emitting UV (Ultraviolet) Rays. Though, tanning beds are considered as an efficient sunless tanning method, continuous use of this method can cause skin cancer and skin aging.

Tanning Pills

Tanning pills usually comes in three varieties -- pills which contain caretenoid pigments, pills which contain tyrosine, and pills with no active ingredients. Tanning pills which contain caretenoid pigments when consumed internally saturates the fat layers just below the skin, which results in the change in skin color. The other two varieties of tanning pills are not proven to have any desired effect on the color of the skin.

The cost of sunless tanning methods differs from just a few bucks to $100 or even more for one or more visit in a tanning salon. However, with sunless tanning you can easily achieve that beautiful bronzed look without damaging your skin. <bio>We have made a research to find the best tanning methods.
Seasons of Beauty: Your skin tone is the starting point to choosing your hair color. First read the guide below and determine your skin tone by "Season": Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter; then choose your best hair colors.

The goal is to find a shade that complements your skin tone and brings out your natural color. A mistake many women make is choosing a color that's too dark, when in doubt, go a shade lighter. Shop our styles by the colors that complement your skin tone.

SPRING Warm golden undertones and usually creamy white or peach. Straw-colored or strawberry red hair, freckles, rosy cheeks, and blue or green eyes.

Try: all warm blondes, from bright wheat blonde to intense honey blonde, or light strands in golden blonde shades. Lighten hair rather than toning it down.

SUMMER Pale and pink undertones. Usually natural blondes or brunettes with pale eyes.

Try: cool and subdued hair colors. Blondes in silver tones, from platinum to ash blonde. Browns without gold effects, and reds should be the blue-red tones.

AUTUMN Golden undertones. Many redheads and brunettes with golden brown eyes fall into this category.

Try: blonde, red and brown tones which head for gold and copper. Even natural carrot red hair can go along fine with henna red.

WINTER Blue or pink undertones. Pale white, yellowish-olive or dark. Brunettes, with deeply colored eyes, Asians and African Americans fall into this category.

Try: browns which stress natural dark tones. When choosing reds, select rich tones that lean towards the blue scale, like burgundy or deep auburn.

Another consideration women need to think about is skin tone. Here is a question I get asked all the time:

Q: How can I tell if a color is right for my skin tone?

A: The wrong hue can make you look tired or pale. Shop by the colors that complement your skin tone.

First determine your skin tone, then discover a hair color to bring out the "you" in you. <bio>Kim writes for http://wigshop.com, which is a leader in the wig industry. http://Wigshop.com is one of the largest online wig stores and offers thousands of brand name wigs, human hair wigs, african american wigs, and much more. </bio>

We all don't have the same skin type; no matter what we do we can't really change the skin we were born with. Having said that there are many things you can do to improve the existing look of your skin so it looks much better than it does. This is especially true for your face; there are thousands of creams and lotions out there that promise to make your facial skin look like to moon. But don't given in to all that advertising, you can follow easy, time saving steps that will enable you to improve your skin without having to spend hundreds of dollars on over the counter products.

Now lets face it, we can't all have skin like Julia Roberts. Like it or not, even with the best skin-care available, you can only to so much to improve the skin you inherited from your parents. But that doesn't mean you have to walk around feeling pasty or drab. With a little bit of makeup, properly used, you can handily cover up blemishes, even out your skin tone, and feel good about your face. So make the best of what you've got with these simple steps and products.

First, a good foundation for your face is the foundation of your look. Foundation, or base makeup, is the first step towards a beautiful, clear look. They come in many different finishes, so pick your foundation according to your desired outcome, whether you want to have a light sheen or glow, or a powdered, matt finish. And nothing undermines a good foundation like a bad tone match. Make sure that you match your foundation exactly to your face's skin tone to avoid a painted, sloppy look. Testing a new foundation on the back of your hand is usually a good indication of a match, but you may need more than one tone for different seasons.

Rub your foundation evenly across your whole face to help conceal blemishes and give your face a consistent color. Make sure to rub it in thoroughly at your face's edge, so that you don't have a visible line along your jaw and hairline where your makeup ends. If you have blemishes that are still visible, you may want to use a skin-toned concealer to cover them. Dab a small amount on the area in need, and then blend it in with the surrounding foundation. Those who desire a mat finish may want to consider a powder, both to prevent shine and to help set the underlying foundation. If not, you will still probably want to use blush, to restore some color to your face. When lightly applied to the cheekbones with a blush brush, with the lightest coloring to your chin, the top of your nose and your forehead, a little blush helps give you a natural healthy look. As with the foundation, make sure you chose a color that matches your overall complexion. Choosing a color that doesn't fit with your overall look can give you a toy-like look, just like an unblended foundation border, so chose your colors and blend them with care.

And finally, make sure you always completely remove your makeup before bed. Your skin will look better from the start, and will look that much better with your makeup on.

As you can see you don't need to be rich to improve the look of your skin, with some time and knowledge you can do a much better job than commercial creams and lotions.<bio>Debrah Dragon is a writer for Beauty Items, a website about everything beauty-related - beauty tips, beauty salons, beauty products, etc. Debrah is also a featured author at www.ArticleKing.com</bio>

Newbie to the fine art of eye shadow application? Well, here are some eye make up tips to get you started.

First off choose a proper eye shadow color. This can be a little tricky especially if you are not familiar with the tones and hues that would flatter your face. Earth tones work for any skin type and if your skin tone is on the warmer side, beiges, gelds and browns are your best bets. Pretty much the same rule applies to people with cooler skin tones. The cool colors would include the grays and the blues. But remember, if you have dark circles beneath your eyes do not use dark eye shadows as doing so would only bring attention to the dark circles giving you a raccoon-like look. These are just simple eye make up tips for choosing a color that's perfect for you.

You can also base your choices on your eye color. For people who have blue eyes choose shades that contrast your eye color like pale pinks. This color would really make the color of your eyes pop. Green eyed people look amazing with brown eye shadow on but if you want to go for drama, choose a dark purple eye shadow and that would surely bring intensity and depth to your eyes. For people with brown eyes, opt for gold or copper eye color as the sparkly flecks in the powder would make your eyes shimmer. Remember to avoid matching your eye shadow to your eye color. Some people often make the mistake of doing this thinking that this would be flattering but on the contrary it doesn't. Experts who would give eye make up tips always say that contrast is the key. So choose a palette with a variety of hues ranging from the cold to the warm so that you can experiment with color and shades to see which one suits you best.

With the variety of eye shadow types available today, you can now create your own looks without professional help. Look at the trends. Recently we have seen resurgence in the metallic eye shadows as well as the smoky eye. Here are a few eye make up tips to help you achieve these looks even without professional help. All you need are the right colors, the proper tools, a bit of pointers and of course mucho effort from you. Ready?

Let's first start with the more natural looking style. For this, use a pale or a skin toned color shadow which has no shine or shimmer to it. For your base color choose a beige shadow and apply this starting from your eyelids to your brow bone. Blend it outward with a large bristled eye brow brush. Next, apply the slightly darker color to the crease of your eye lid and then blend it downwards. Lastly, apply a lighter beige color underneath the arch of your brow. That's it! With constant practice you'll soon find it very easy to follow these eye make up tips.<bio>PART 2 - For part two of this article, head on to eye make up tips and to find many other great beauty tips visit Colorescience Mineral Makeup.</bio>

For good skin care it is important to know about what causes allergy to you.

Though many skin care products are labeled as hypoallergenic, they may cause allergy in some people. Terms such as unscented, fragrance-free etc. that are frequently used to label skin care products may not have much signifivance because some fragrance may have been used to mask bad odor of other ingredients. Many natural products carry their own fragrance. Many lavender preparations may have no fragrance, but lavender itself is a fragrance.

Natural products used for skin care may also cause allergy, so do chemicals. That is bad for good skin care.

Any time you get a reaction from a skin care product, stop using that. Try to find out the ingredients that cause dermatitis to you and avoid any other skin care product that uses the same ingredient.
