One remarkably rewarding hobby, in more ways than one, is coin collecting. Though it may not have the same visceral excitement as, say, hang gliding, it has a subdued joy that is more than worth the experience. The simple joys of finding a coin you've been looking for or discovering a mint-condition penny from forty years ago is a pleasure that is not to be missed. While this may be difficult for some to understand, coin collecting is a reward all its own and, for those who do it, there is nothing else like it.

To understand the pleasure of coin collecting is to understand the pleasure of discovery. You do not collect coins just to have metal lying around, you collect coins to find something new. This is because, with the number of coins minted around the world, there is always something new to discover. There are always more coins, more designs, more commemorative editions, and more periods in history to explore. Which means that completing a coin collection is impossible, because there are always more coins to collect.

However, it is not only the coins themselves that make coin collecting so enjoyable. There is also the fact that there is always something more to learn about coins and coin collecting. The joys of discovery are not only in the coin shops, they are also in the mind. With every article, book, or simple observation there is something new to learn, ponder, or finally decide. The exploration of topics and knowledge has its own rewards and coin collecting provides plenty of opportunity to do just that.

Of course, coin collecting has more tangible rewards as well. Coins do tend to increase as the years pass on, so there are monetary rewards in addition to the mental rewards. And there is a certain excitement in finding a unique coin that is worth a whole heck of a lot of money. And, when you do manage to do that, you not only get the satisfaction of discovering something unexpected, you can keep it for its investment potential over the long haul. After all, rare coins are not getting any more common, so they are only going to increase in value over time.

So, with all these exciting facets to a coin collection, how do you actually start with coin collecting? The best thing to do is to just start looking through the change you have on hand right now. After all, all the coins that are now being collected were once change in someone's pocket. So start with the coins you already have, learn about them, and then move out from there. And, as you collect more coins and learn more about them, the continual process of discovery will be its own reason for continuing your explorations. Then, when you finally discover the joys of simply collecting coins for the sake of collecting coins, you will be able to assemble an impressive set of coins that will be an investment all its own. Which will make a lot more people happy about the fact that you enjoy coin collecting so much. <bio>Coins and Coin Collecting, http://www.coinsandcoincollecting.com Your guide to getting the very best from your coin collection. </bio>

Online casino gambling has made it possible for you to experience the joys of bringing Las Vegas into your bedroom. All you need is a good computer and a fast internet connection and you are on your way to getting a taste of that wonderful Las Vegas gambling experience right from the comfort of your own home. There are literally thousands of online casinos to choose from, but as with everything else be sure and do a background check of those online casinos before you begin pumping your hard earned cash into them. Google is the number one recommended search engine for doing these types of checks, if there is anything fishy about them you can depend on Google to find it.

When you gamble in an online casino, there is no need for you to leave the comfort of your home, you don't even have to change your clothes, brush your teeth or comb your hair, if you don't feel like it. None of these things matter because no one will know, no one can see you, you can even be "butt naked" for that matter, and it won't make a difference, and best of all you will still be able to enjoy that Las Vegas gambling experience in spite of all these shortcomings. There are no dress codes to follow here, you make your own dress code. Just think about it no more getting up, showering, getting dressed, getting in your car and driving for hours in heavy traffic to get to those Las Vegas casino, and probably the best advantage is no more carrying around that big stash of cash your person, hoping that you won't get mugged.

Another great joy of bringing Las Vegas into your bedroom is you get to set the scene of your gambling experience, whatever your heart desires, as there are no rules here to follow, you make your own rules, you can choose to have your cooler of beers close by and if you are a smoker, no more worrying about which area is the no smoking area, you can smoke wherever you please. If you are a first timer, now discovering the gambling scene you won't have to worry about looking like a fool if you don't quite grasp how a certain game is supposed to be played, there is no one around to see your blunder, you can make as many mistakes as you want and no one will know.

With online casinos you have the opportunity to switch from one game to another without ever having to leave the comfort of your bedroom. You can play any game you want anytime you want day or night it does not matter, and listen to this because of online casinos even people with disabilities can now experience the joys of bringing Las Vegas into their bedroom. It does not matter whether you are crippled, have a speech problem or whatever, online casinos do not discriminate because of your disability, just as long as you can use your hands or whatever part of your body you use for typing you too can experience the joys of bringing Las Vegas into your bedroom.<bio>Sarah Harrigan is a professional casino player and reviewer.
So, you are sitting around, or maybe you are standing up, and you think to yourself "My goodness, if only I had a place to relax. A hammock would be nice!" Many, many people have had this same thought, so you certainly are not alone!

Well, what if you have a baron backyard with nowhere to hang a hammock. A common misconception is that hammocks only come with two ties on each end to tie to a tree or other hanging post. Well, with the technology craze of this generation, and with everything from cell phones to laptops getting smaller and smaller by the day, portability is on the rise. Introducing: The portable hammock.

Allow me to present a possible scenario to you. You are sitting on your porch when your significant other comes walking up to you asking for a place to relax. You ponder, and you remember coming across this article. A light bulb that seems to be residing in your brain somewhere flips to the "on" position, and suddenly you are a hero. You tell him or her that you have got the greatest plan in the world. You are going to purchase a portable hammock.

Your partner becomes confused, "But, we do not have anywhere to hang a hammock," says you partner, "how do you expect to take a portable hammock out here?" You then would explain to your partner that the essence of a portable hammock is the fact that it is so portable, and so convenient, that all you need to have your new relaxation spot up and running is a vacant spot on the ground anywhere you like. You can place it in your backyard, at the porch or deck, at the beach, in the woods when camping and many more empty stops on the ground. Eureka! Problem solved.

Portable hammocks are the most convenient option for finding the simple joys in your everyday life. Take one outside and listen to the birds sing their songs in trees. Or, here is the best part, you can even set up your portable hammock in your very own living room. Yes, portable hammocks are slowly but surely hitting the mainstream waves of indoor dιcor. And that is not only my opinion.

Can you not just picture it in your head right now? Imagine, sipping a cherry limeade with a straw, swaying back and forth on your portable hammock, in your very own living room. We think this is the perfect addition for any individual looking for a little bit more individuality in their living area! You can set up your portable hammock in your bedroom too. It is very comfortable and can serve you greatly as a bed instead of your regular bed.

So, while you are in the market for a piece of furniture to relax and have great time in it, we urge you to keep in mind the attractive convenience, and fun, that a portable hammock can present to anyone of all ages!<bio>Portable hammocks are the most convenient way to take your hammock anywhere you like.
The question has been raised as to from whom this universe comes,in whom it rests, and to whom it goes; and the answer has been given that from freedom it comes, in bondage it rests, and goes back into that freedom again. So, when we speak of man as no other than that infinite being which is manifesting itself, we mean that only one very small part thereof is man; this body and this mind which we see are only one part of the whole, only one spot of the infinite being. This whole universe is only one speck of the infinite being; and all our laws, our bondages, our joys and our sorrows, our happinesses and our expectations, are only within this small universe; all our progression and digression are within its small compass.

So you see how childish it is to expect a continuation of this universe -- the creation of our minds -- and to expect to go to heaven, which after all must mean only a repetition of this world that we know. You see at once that it is an impossible and childish desire to make the whole of infinite existence conform to the limited and conditioned existence which we know.

When a man says that he will have again and again this same thing which he is having now, or, as I sometimes put it,when he asks for a comfortable religion, you may know that he has become so degenerate that he cannot think of anything higher than what he is now; he is just his little present surroundings and nothing more. He has forgotten his infinite nature, and his whole idea is confined to these little joys, and sorrows, and heartjealousies of the moment. He thinks that this finite thing is the infinite; and not only so, he will not let this foolishness go. He clings on desperately unto Trishna, and the thirst after life, what the Buddhists call Tanha and Tissa. There may be millions of kinds of happiness, and beings, and laws, and progress, and causation, all acting outside the little universe that we know;and, after all, the whole of this comprises but one section of our infinite nature.

To get more information visit : http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com <bio>Lecturer, entrepreneur and Fortune 500 business consultant, Vish Writer is the author of the Amazon No 1 bestseller, "The Joy of Becoming God" For more information, visit: http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com http://www.vish-writer.com http://www.simplifyyourthoughts.com </bio>

The toys you play with when you're a child are always different from

those your children will play with. Over the past few generations, the

toys played with in general have changed immensely. Today's toys are all

made of plastic, with hundreds of movable parts and flashy extra

pieces. They are electronic and noisy, knocking over your coffee table and keeping you awake at night. As cool as today's new toys are, they're

rather obnoxious, and they don't tend to last very long.

There was a time though when toys were much simpler. They were hand

crafted, made of carefully cut and whittled wood to last a life time and

still be passed on. If you remember the wooden toys your grandparents gave you, you know that they were as tough as they came and that no

simple drop from a couple stories up would destroy them like today's plastic toys.

Why not then consider giving your children wooden toys today, those

classic hand crafted toys that won't break and offer just as much

stimulation as any modern toy. It's a great purchase, and not only will it be a

mainstay in their toy box, because it won't break in three weeks, it

will be around for generations, as an heirloom, should it be kept around.

Handmade wooden toys come in all shapes and sizes, from the classic

wooden train sets to the exciting cars, planes, and helicopters. Any of

the high flying or fast racing vehicles your child might want can be hand

cut from wood. There are dozens of different styles and models as well,

toys that will not look the same as some other wooden train, and offer

the choice to purchase more of them in the future. The beauty of hand crafted toys is that they are always a little different.

Wooden toys are not solely vehicles and machinery though. You can find

hand crafted wooden games as well such as tic-tac-toe, or building

blocks. You might remember your classic Lincoln Logs, but these are even

better, hand crafted wooden blocks that will not break under the pressure

of a young child's imagination.

There are toys available for children

of all ages, from the youngest playing with a clacker, to your seven

year old daughter playing with her hand made wooden doll cradle, to your

sons staging an epic battle scene with their wooden fleet of trucks, cars, and airplanes.

The joys of handmade wooden toys is that they will be around for a lifetime, forever

bound by the sturdiness of their design. They are fun and entertaining,

but practical as well, and best of all, not beeping and flashing at three

o clock in the morning. <bio>Marina Neiman, author and mother of two, writes for http://1888Toys.com - Children Educational Toys Store, featuring classic toys with truly developmental value, along with great selection of http://www.1888toys.com </bio>

Red wines have been very popular lately, thanks to medical reports about their antioxidant and heart-protecting properties. It's true that red wines are amazing, but that doesn't mean the other less noticed kinds of wine are bad. White wines are in fact divine, when it comes to their subtle aroma and taste it's more than the senses with a right amount of sweetness and delicately combined with mild sources.

Wine service at a nice restaurant can be an unneccessarily difficult ordeal. The following tips will allow you to follow the customs of wine service with ease and confidence.

Many people are confused about wine, especially whites. This makes many estranged from the joys of the cellar. For the uninitiated, here are some of the most common kinds of white wine:

1. Chardonnay - The most renowned type of white wine is very much befitting of the superstardom. This type of wine originated in France from grapes of the same name. Its flavor reminds one of the fruity tastes of pineapple, peach, citrus, apple combined with luscious tang of vanilla, oatmeal, and nuts. Chardonnay looks very elegant in a glass with its deep yellow to light greenish transparence.

2. Sauvignon Blanc =96 Another wine that hails from France, particularly around the Loire valley, the Sauvignon Blanc can also be found in New Zealand. Its flavor evokes freshness of the pastures around its area, reminding one of the aroma of freshly cut grass, giving the wine an herbaceous flavor with hints of fruits. It is best to enjoy this wine immediately as its fresh flavor doesn't last long.

3. Chenin Blanc =96 another product of the Loire valley, this exceptional wine usually goes unnoticed as the underdog of the wine kingdom. However its flavors are truly magnificent with hints of tangy pineapple and lime combined with the sweetness of honey and licorice. This one lasts longer and can keep up to 10 years. Art of Wine Tasting.

4. Gewurztraminer =96 This one comes from Alsace, France. A wine with a louder character, with hints of spice and floral taste.

5. Pinot Gris =96 this crisp and smoky wine with hints of apricot comes from Alsace, North Eastern Italy, and New Zealand.

6. Riesling =96 a noble tea-like, honey flavored wine comes from Alsace or Clare Valley in France, or from Germany.

There are so many other kinds of white wines, all evoking elegant and luscious flavors that make them perfect companions for soft cheeses, white sauced pasta, fish and poultry. Of course one can have a glass with any meal or by itself depending on one's preference.

When it comes to the joys and pleasures brought about by wine, whites can compete with reds. To know more about white wines, it is best to befriend a wine dealer. Cheers!

When choosing a wine from a restaurant's wine list, the main goal is to accomplish a suitable pairing with the entrees of your party. If the food orders are too different to generalize with one wine, consider purchasing splits or ordering by the glass. Waiters and sommeliers are there to answer your questions, but availing yourself to their services and advice will be much more beneficial if your questions are relatively specific. <bio>Learn the art of wine tasting at http://www.wine-city.info </bio>

Raising children is the most important job in the world. Raising children is a wonderful and challenging life experience. Here's the problem: people assume that raising children is only the job of the women, men do not take child raising seriously in our culture. If raising children is so hard, why do people still want to have kids? Downgrading the importance of raising children is the greatest evil of our times. It is time to face it, raising children is the responsibility of parents. Raising children is a never-ending job. Raising children is much harder than it looks, but with patience and hope, children can mature into very emotionally-secure adults.

Child care is a partnership. Child care is a necessary part of life for many families. First-time parents explore and document the care and development of a human baby. Do you feel comfortable with someone else taking care of your child? Taking care of yourself is a vital part of keeping your child safe. No job is more important to you than taking care of your own child. I don't think that the care of children should be gender specific.

Parents play a very important role in when raising children in a safe and loving home homes. Parents recognize and deal with their children's most challenging traits in a positive manner. Parents earning low or moderate incomes are under extreme pressure to meet the costs of raising children and overall household expenses. All parents face challenges in raising children. Parents decide to accept the responsibility of raising children. Therefore, workshop models for teaching parents how to cope with the stress associated with raising children has been developed.

Good child care provides parents with an extended family to help share in the challenges and joys of raising children. Creating a stable family environment and raising children should be a joy. It recognizes the critical role that the family plays in American society and in raising children. Poor family values and poor communication skills with children is what leads children to rebel. Siblings can cause many joys and frustrations in any family. It is difficult to balance this philosophy with a family life that places value on raising children.

Raising children is not an easy task. Raising children is at heart a practice that engages and embodies a rich variety of developed and undeveloped theories. The smartest advice on raising children is to enjoy them while they are still on your side. Like all parents, they have found that raising children is both challenging and unpredictable. It seems to me that raising children is a catch-22 when it comes to finances. <bio>Melissa Fishman is the owner of http://www.mailordermommy.com Mailordermommy sells personalized party favors </bio>

Recently a friend and I were discussing our thoughts about parenting. He and I share many common ideas and values, but there was one glaring difference in our styles -- church membership. He just could not understand why I felt it important to raise my child in a church community. He was not questioning why I wanted my child to have faith in God, but he could not see how belong to a church family could be an important parenting resource.

I explained to Tom that there are actually five reasons why I believe it is important to raise my son in a church community.

First is, of course, the issue of faith. I want my child to have a strong faith in God because I know that faith will provide the comfort, solace, and inspiration to carry him through the joys and tribulations that are in store for him as a human. I know this from my own personal experience as well as countless studies which have shown that people with faith in a higher being live longer, happier, and more fulfilling lives.

Belonging to a church is more than simply attending services on Sundays. It is about becoming a member of that community and that is a very important factor in my decision for my child. His friends are children he has known his entire life and his teachers and caregivers are adults and teenagers we have known for years. We have history and connections that brings us together for fun and fellowship as well as to share troubles and celebrate joys.

Every child needs a variety of role models to help decide what person they will become. I cannot think of a better place to find a wide range of role models than in a church. I know there are many people that I look up to among our congregation and I am sure that my son has many as well.

Regularly attending church and Sunday School as well as participating in the church community provides a child with many important guidelines for being a good person as well as a good Christian. Learning the Golden Rule, the 10 Commandments, and Bible lessons are all an important part of that. Children also learn from watching others and following that example. If they see their parents and other adults giving of their time, love, and money then they will be more giving as well.

Finally, I find Church teaches my child a lot about social relationships. He has a group of peers that he has known since infancy and will grow to adulthood with but he also enjoys a spread of generations and knows and loves people of many ages and backgrounds that he likely would not know if not for church. Simply by raising my child in a church I have given him a number of social connections that I hope will help learn and grow to be a man I can be proud of.

These five reasons are all powerful motivations for raising your child in a church community, but there is one other important factor as well. Attending church, and church community activities, is something that you can do together as a family. Step off the hectic whirl of day-to-day life and into a community of faith. <bio>Deanna Mascle writes about other family issues in her Family Life blog at http://OfficialFamily.us </bio>

Other people take great pleasure in creating their own bird houses, whether putting their personal touches to houses purchased as kits, or painstakingly building from scratch elaborate mansions drawn from their own rich imaginations and unique artistic talents.

Bird houses can range anywhere from being the most humble one-room roosts with simple feeders to being spacious, multi-chambered creations in the style of Italian villas for some fortunate winged travelers. Constructed from varieties of wood and/or metal, and painted subtly or in riots of brilliant colors, bird houses are as unique and assorted as their feathered occupants and the men, women, and children who create them. Bird houses crafted with thought and care can enhance an already beautifully designed setting, or be the focal point of any garden, porch, patio, or sunroom.

The building of bird houses can be wonderful outlets for adults and children alike -- an absorbing and fulfilling way for a solo artist to pass the time, a happy bonding experience for parents and their children, or a productive and challenging educational project for a group of scouts or a classroom of school students. With so many different varieties of bird houses designed for different types of birds, adults and children can also gain a tremendous amount of knowedge about -- and likely a much greater interest in -- the intricacies of the avian world all around.

Hung from ceilings or deck rails, perched in trees or poised on pedestals, bird houses are a representation of life's simple joys and a reminder of the importance for living beings to care for and nurture each other. <bio>http://www.birdhousetoday.com is a web resource packed with information on rustic bird houses and humming bird houses </bio>

Debt is one of the most common and devastating things that people find themselves in life. It saps your energy and decreases your control over the future. Basically you are a slave to your debt literally and it has a way of winning out. People get into debt for all sorts of reasons. Some make poor decisions but most people are just plain unlucky and get hit with an unexpected and huge bill at just the wrong time. The great thing is that many of the people who offer debt help have been over their head in debt before and know exactly how to get out from under that crushing load. They know that you aren't stupid and will treat you with respect as they lead you along the proven path to freedom in your budget once again.

So my advice to you, if you are just starting the downward spiral and want help avoiding compounding your errors, or you have already hit rock bottom and are desperately looking for a way out, get someone you can trust and who knows what they are doing to give you good debt help. What I want to do now is give just a few tips that any sensible debt advisor would give you to get you on your way to financial security.

First form a budget that fits your income and stick to it. This is the most simple thing to teach in debt help, but turns out to be the most powerful because people have never learned. People have no idea how much is coming in and how much is going out and absent mindedly spend more than they make. It is a natural phenomena and the only way to avoid it is to map it out clearly so you can see the effect of your decisions clearly.

The second tenet of debt help is that everybody needs to come up with a way to keep track of your budget on a day to day basis. How else are you going to know if you can make a purchase within your budget? You need to have running totals in order to stick to your budget. There is a lot of simple computer software that is getting easier to use each year as they figure out ways to automate things. This takes out all of the math that can screw people up and also provides a clean crisp organization for those who are challenged organizationally.

Third credit can be your friend but turns out to be most people's enemy who are seeking debt help. Credit gives you flexibility and often many incentives but it also is very expensive if you get on the wrong end of the equation. My advice to you is to first not have credit until you have disciplined yourself enough to stick to a budget and then only use it like you would a debit card. This allows you all of the positives of credit without burying you alive. <bio>The reason why Tremper Phorgman is so passionate about helping people that need debt help is that he was there too. He knows the joys of financial freedom and wants others to as well.
We have heard this word time and again. Some people believe in it while others don't. I personally have mixed views with regards this destiny thing.

They say that destiny is fate. It is when two people are really meant for each other. It is when something is really for you like maybe a promotion or a new found job. Destiny is when the happenings in your life are defined by predetermined events.

So here comes the confusing part. People always say that you determine your life. We were created to be rational beings to make decisions in life if we must. In everything that we do be it as simple as what to wear for work, what to eat for breakfast or may it be a life changing decision that involves choosing who to spend the rest of our life with, the decision lies solely in our very own hands. Our life is like a clean canvass. We decide the colors that go into the canvass. All the good and all the bad that has happened in our lives all have resulted from the decisions that we have made in our lives.

But then other people also say that every single event that has happened in our lives has already been arranged in this so called book of life and that this book contains all the events that are supposedly going to happen. Everything happens for a reason, the people we meet along the way, the happiness and joys we may have experience or is yet to experience, the sorrows and heartaches that have yet to dampen our spirits; all will happen at the proper place and the proper time when that supposedly moment or occasion is suppose to happen.

So I say to you now. If indeed everything in this world has been predetermined already then why are we given the free will to choose? Do you suppose that despite all the choices we may have made, no matter how hard we try to achieve something it'll never be within our reach if it is not meant to be a part of our lives? Does our destiny change when we take another course of action, one that is not directed towards what is supposedly to happen? Is what was already written in your so called book of life going to be altered if we try not let destiny have its way?

There are so many questions and yet there is no sure shot answer. What matters most for me is that we live everyday of our lives to the fullest not waiting for destiny to come our way. I am not also saying that in one way or another I don't believe in fate for there are really certain events in my life that I do think fate had something to do with. Just do our thing. Do what you think and feel is right. Everything will just fall into place. <bio>Cathy Peterson writes about http://www.simplybestcoupons.com/ </bio>

The improvements of the new iPod video concern not only the dimensions, but also the battery life, the quality sound and, above all, the possibility of watching the favorite music videos and TV shows on http://www.10phone.com .

As regarding the exterior aspect, one may say that this may be the most handsome model of an iPod even made =96 a bigger display, thinner, and about 45 percent less space than the original iPod. The main idea is less space and more features and if it wasn't the case of a human made object, you may have said that the magic is called evolution. The two models of the video iPod =96 30 and 60 GB =96 are thinner and look very fashionable, having an attractive exterior aspect.

The new iPod has other improvements, especially in the case of the battery life so that the enjoyment and satisfaction would be complete, having five hours life more than before. This means that the new iPod has 20 hours of battery life and taking into account the advantage of watching music videos, TV shows, cartoons, photos and other videos, this aspect is more than welcomed.

The improvements also concern the memory of the new iPod and the good news is that you may have 15,000 songs on it and even a full-color album up to 25,000 photos. The 2.5-inch color display is also of great help while watching either the photos or the videos. In this way, you may take all your favorite music with you and you may still have room for your favorite music videos, TV shows or cartoons. If you are a fan of the latest ABC hits like "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives", you may also take them with you, as even this thing is possible with the new iPod video. There are also Pixar shorts and some Disney available for the new iPod for your children or for your childish tastes.

Some other improvements regard the quality of changing the options and the touch-sensitive surface is the great achievement for the new iPod video. In this way, you may access the music, video and photo memory easily and you may also create a rating for your favorites. The options of play and pause, fast-forward and rewind are not a problem anymore. You may even launch slideshows with your favorite photos.

You may also benefit from the iTunes Music Store with over 2 million songs available for all tastes and ages, 2,000 videos, ABC or Disney TV shows. You may downlowd them and then sync them into your iPod. Besides, with the help of special cables you may see the photos or the videos on your TV set. There is another option for all these activities - you may use the universal dock and the remote control.

These amazing improvements may be the source of endless joys and satisfaction for you on the road or in other situations when you need company. Besides, you may also look up an e-mail address, you may check the calendar of your activities, find out the time in another part of the country or particular city. These possibilities may conquer the heart of any person in this world and that is why the new iPod video may be a great choice for a gift for the beloved ones.

Moreover, this special toy may fit any age and any tastes and may be the perfect gift for any member of your family. The handy options, the nice design and great improvements may be the source of endless joys for any person who doesn't like to spend time with no activity. The wide and bright screen, the touch-sensitive surface, the longer battery life, the great amount of options and possibilities make the new iPod video the best iPod ever made. And there is still room for other important and interesting changes, and that is why the designers are open to any useful suggestions. <bio>http://www.10phone.com </bio>

In my work as a business coach I meet with people every day who have dreams of creating success in their business. Sadly, most of them are saying the same thing, "I hate marketing, I just want to do what I'm good at without having to market myself. " The truth about getting more clients is that it's not that difficult, it just requires following some simple steps.

• FOCUS: How do you get to where you want to be unless you know where you are going? I always teach my clients a visualization in which they imagine where they want to be professionally in 1 year from today. How much money do you want to be earning? How many hours a week do you want to work? What kind of clients do you want to work with?

• STRATEGIES: Once you're clear about where you want to be, you need to create strategies to get there. I tell people, "if you already knew what strategies to use, you'd probably already be there." Strategies help you to chunk big visions into tangible, bite size action steps

• ACCOUNTABILITY: How accountable are you to yourself? Most people I meet in business for themselves, find it far too easy to slide in keeping their agreements with themselves. The magical thing about coaching is that when you have a witness to your accountability, you are much more likely to do what you said you'd do. Just knowing that someone cares and will ask you every week, "How did that action step go?", is huge incentive to staying on track.

• DISCOVERY: As a former psychologist, one of my passions is helping people discover how they block them themselves and get in their own way of success. What I find is that everyone needs to reprogram some self-limiting beliefs, like "I don't have what it takes to succeed" or "I don't deserve to have a lot of money". Another block is that most people suffer from subconscious sabotaging strategies, like procrastination . These need to be reversed. Finally , everyone I've ever met has a monstrous , overly developed inner critic, which I call the Gremlin. In discovery you learn to identify the voice of you Gremlin and learn to tame it way down.

• PERSPECTIVE: We all spin our wheels and get caught up in our narrow perspective. The best investment we can make in getting more clients is to have people around us that give us the option of another perspective

• SUPPORT: If you are in business for yourself , you need all the support you can get. As you put yourself out there to get more clients, you are assuming the responsibility of helping these clients. Who helps you? Who do you lean on? It is invaluable to have a support team or a committed ally in your corner.

• CELEBRATION: How often do you celebrate yourself? As a coach who teaches people how to get more clients I find that learning to celebrate not only your successes but also your efforts is the way to a long a healthy career. By learning to stop, pause and validate yourself for what you've done keeps this process light , fun and exciting. Also, think of how impossible it is for your gremlin to beat you up, if you are busy celebrating yourself! It is one of of the joys of my work that I get to help people truly celebrate themselves. <bio>Maya Bailey, Ph.D., is a Master Business Coach and creator of the High Impact Accelerated Accountability Program for getting more clients in 90 days. Revision existed within our minds, and we realized it through the eyes of our children.

Whether we want to admit it or not, our kids have become the greatest source of our joys as well as our most trying despair. They had been ever since the first moment we met. We thrilled at the sight of their little heads popping out for the first time. We sighed with concern and then relief as their tiny little lungs screamed their first sounds of life. We knew then and there that they were going to be healthy, and in turn, so were we. All we had to do now was get back on our feet and return to life's other major battles. From our work to our love life to our relationships with friends, neighbors, and family, we returned to the passions and letdowns that made up our days.

As we grew older, our children provided us with even greater highs and deeper lows, but we somehow managed to keep moving forward. For some of us, however, our dreams did not turn out as we might have imagined. Our kids did not turn out to be the angels we'd raised them to be. They got into trouble. And we got angry. Communication broke down, and we became estranged from the joys we had experienced when they were younger and life was so much simpler. In many instances, unrealized by us, our kids had become someone we did not recognize or approve of. Our relationship had soured and tilted on the precipice of death. We fretted, became depressed, and feared we had lost everything that we had worked so hard for and invested so much time and energy and money into. We felt hopeless.

But with a little time and a lot of soul-searching we came to the conclusion that we had created this whole mess to start with, so we were the ones who needed to clean it up. Something in our life needed to change, and that something was most probably us. We vowed to become someone new, someone who we could live with, someone our children could prosper through. We learned that change for our children and us began by integrating the three C's into our relationship. Communication. Compassion. Consciousness.

We learned to communicate better by speaking with our children through our hearts as well as our minds. We stopped intellectualizing everything they did and began to witness life through their eyes. We provided compassion and the recognition that life is different for them now than it was for us then. Their pressures to grow up were greater, and we understood that our kids were trying their very best; they just sometimes didn't know how to do it the right way. It was up to us to figure out how to make that happen.

Our consciousness rose as we learned to better tap into our children's feelings and emotions. We recognized that their moods were low because they were down on themselves and we were the grownups who needed to help them change that. But first we needed to witness more change within ourselves. We stopped scolding them for not being what we felt they should be, and we began to appreciate them for what they were. Each morning we counted our blessings, and felt thanks for the fact our children were healthy and so were we. We communicated this newfound appreciation for life to them, and eventually they began to feel it too. Their days progressed accordingly.

Every success and failure our children experience in life begins with us. If we are having a bad day, invariably, so will they. If we show faith in the universe to provide for us everything that we need, so will our kids. It's up to us to make sure they recognize this connection. We need to first experience the change that we want to see them experience. We need to become what we want to see in the world around us. And we can do that right now. Yesterday is gone forever. Tomorrow may never reach us. But today is our chance to begin afresh. Today we can reopen our jar of consciousness and renew all the hope and joy and pleasures that await each one of us. And if it doesn't happen right this very moment because we just can't seem to get it together =97 then tomorrow, when the sun rises, so shall our ability to begin life anew with our kids. <bio>Michael Mehas is a writer, attorney and associate producer of the 2007 film Alpha Dog.
I received a card from a friend today that made me cry. It's not the first card I have received from her because this unusual lady likes to reach out and touch with a card. She just seems to know when to send one and the exact thing to say to lift your spirit. In fact, you might say she has a card writing ministry of sorts.

This very special lady came into my life about two years ago, when my husband and I suddenly found ourselves caretaking his mother, who had alzheimers. Little did we know how this experience of caretaking would change our lives in such meaningful ways. When my mother-in-law, Grace, moved in with us, we soon discovered that the demands on our time, energy, and emotional beings were all-consuming. We needed some help and, through an agency, Evie came into our lives. Evie became much more than a hired caretaker to us. She became a friend and companion to a woman who barely knew her name and a dear friend to us as well.

Evie has taught me much about gratitude. A card may seem like a very small thing to send, but its impact can be huge nonetheless. Just a few words of thanks or expressions of kindness mean so much. They really do warm the heart; and in a world where real connection with people seems harder and harder to achieve, oh how we need more people like Evie and definitely more cards!

It seems to me, that as a society, we have lost the graceful art of gratitude. Even Jesus expressed complete surprise at the lack of gratitude in his day. In one of the gospel accounts, Jesus healed ten lepers and only one of the came back to thank Him. He basically asked what happened to the other nine. Didn't He heal them too? Why is it so difficult for us to be grateful? Quite frankly, I believe it is far too easy to get pulled right in to an entitlement mentality that somehow life or someone owes me something. "I deserve this." "You owe me this." "I have my rights, you know." "I am entitled to this." "Who do you think you are?"

It's a sad commentary when such simple expressions of gratitude, even a mere "thank you", are often too few and far to be found. No doubt the messages we have bought into as a society have not only robbed us of meaningful relationships, but the real simple joys of life.

Gracious and grateful people seem to understand that every day we live is really a gift to be treasured and valued. Gracious and grateful people are able to extend graciousness to others because they themselves understand their own limitations. They know all too well that they are recipients of amazing grace on a daily basis from others and a God who loves and values them.

How about you? Need a little more gratitude in your life? I know I do. Maybe the place for you and I to start is by considering what we do have and what is right with our lives. No matter where we are in life, there is always someone who has it worst than you and I. Come to think of it, it's really difficult to be grateful and depressed at the same time? So what are we waiting for? Thanks Evie for the needed reminder! <bio>Janet Daughtry, MDiv, CBC, is a certified Life Coach helping women to reach their fullest potential and purpose.
Tom Paterson, in his book, "Living The Life You Were Meant To Live," made a very interesting comment. God isn't interested in us just making a living as He is in us "making a life." Well said! I believe a good question we can ask is are we so consumed with making a living that we have forgotten how to make a life!

In this world of "me" focus and striving to get ahead, maybe we need to take a deep breath, step back a little and get a larger perspective on life. At the end of our lives, I don't think it will really matter how much money you and I made or how successful we were. I think the questions we will be concerned about are did we love our God and others well? Did we make a difference in this world? It is not that success or money are a bad things, but Jesus was so right when he said that life was so much more than the things that we possess. At the end of our lives, I think it will be more important to know we were the kind of people that loved and served others well rather than what kind of car we drove, the house we lived in or how much money we made. Did we love with God's love and did others see in us who Jesus really is.

The reality is that there are no guarantees about time. Time is precious. It waits for no one and it's the one thing we can never get back. If we postpone what we really want to do in this life, people we want to touch or influence, or even a trip we want to take that time may never come. People wait for retirement to pursue a dream. Retirement comes and health fails and the dream never happens.

Are you making a living or making a life? Why postpone even simple joys another day? Why not take the time for a long walk and actually smell the roses and enjoy God's beautiful creation? It won't cost you a thing and will not only renew your senses but also clear your head. Why not take time to lay hold of courage and forgive or to tell someone that you love them? Maybe its time to be a voice of encouragement to someone who desperately needs a kind word or hug. Take the time to cultivate some new friendships or get together with old friends over coffee, dinner. What about the possibility of extending an act of service or kindness to a complete stranger just because you can.

Are you making a living or making a life? What a perspective! When we begin to be people of life instead of performing in life our lives can be not only meaningful but lived with no regrets! <bio>Janet Daughtry, MDiv, CBC, is a certified Christian life coach helping women reach their potential.
The first time that you do anything is a great milestone. The first word, the first day at school, the first date, the first car -- they were all landmark moments in our lives. Once we have crossed these milestones, we are changed forever and ever. You just move on towards the future with a new mindset and a new attitude to all the various aspects of life.

Perhaps the biggest transformation happens once you finally purchase your first car. A first car is like having a baby. You want everything to be perfect. Even the tiniest scratch heralds a lot of distress. So it is important to unearth the vehicle that best suits your personality; one that suits your specific needs of speed, looks, and service.

Once you have decided what kind of a car you are looking for, pick out the winning model. However, this is only the start. Maintenance is an extremely important aspect of making the best use of your vehicle. Washing it, servicing it, making sure that it is in running condition -- all these are things that you will have to take care of after you buy your first car.

And then, there also arises the old insurance question. I know of a few people who are willing to go without insurance for their cars. They just remain oblivious to the possibility of an accident. Okay, so maybe the chances of a bad accident are not that high, but even a simple dent on the fender might be a very expensive job. A tiny scratch made by a passing motorbike may not seem like much, but go for repairs and you will end up paying a lot more than you may have calculated on paying.

It really would be so much simpler to use your insurance to pay for expenses such as these. You are paying the premiums on the insurance with the hope of being less overcome by stress. So you will be relaxed when the time comes to spend larger amounts on things that you really could not have helped. Moreover, if this is your first car that we are talking about, paying huge amounts on repair may be an entirely new experience. It is a good idea to allow the insurance company to see to those if it can be helped.

If you have just got your first car, give yourself a treat by going on a joyride. Remember, however, that a car is a major responsibility. Servicing, repairs, and insurance issues are things that you will have to learn to deal with. Get ready to start rolling. <bio>New car owners compare car insurance at http://www.nationsfinance.co.uk/insurance Prospective car owners find out how you can get auto loans at http://www.rebuild.org/auto.html and car finance at http://www.ukpersonalloanstore.co.uk/car_loans_doc.html </bio>

Fun with a purpose is a real help in educating children. It makes learning so much more attractive. Everyone has a good idea about what is fun and what isn't. The same cannot be as easily said about literature. How accomplished need writing be to qualify. With regard to children the question may be asked whether there is a category of writing that could be considered literature in the real sense of the word. Are children capable of engaging with an expression of language that meets literary requirements? The answer to that question is a resounding `Yes!' But how often is such an engagement actually offered to a child? Far too sporadically, I believe.

Titles like Alice in Wonderland, Peter Rabbit and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe come to mind when considering children's literature. From books to be read and told these now have become movies and DVD's to be watched. From words that introduce a child to good language that stirs the imagination this fine literature has become a sequence of images and sound effects. It needs no Einstein to conclude that somewhere there is a loss for modern children and their development. How many children these days have the opportunity to listen to a quality story being well told while becoming entranced by what is happening merely through the medium of the spoken word? It will be few and they will be the ones who will more easily express themselves later in life and may find the joys a good book can bring to the soul. They are the lucky ones.

Allow me to quote a sentence from Eloise, the Witch and the Wordsmith, a recently released multimedia story that uses narrative as communication with the occasional illustration in support. The spoken word is central in the two hour presentation which children are able to listen to without any loss of concentration. Here comes the sentence.

`The Witch was so filled with her thoughts of vanquishing the Wordsmith that she didn't hear the soft hum of the Fireflies that grew and grew around her, exploding from their hidden places, surrounding her with hot brightness, fire light, scalding her with dazzling, brilliant, blinding brightness, enveloping her in such sparkling radiance that she cringed, folded herself into a desolate parody of greatness, and crumpled to the ground, spent of her power, slack with defeat.'

This, most likely, is the longest sentence in the story. It also introduces the most words in one sequence including a lot of not frequently used ones. It's not the only place where `difficult' words are to be found in the Eloise adventure. Such words are scattered throughout the text. Overall there are well over a hundred words in the story that children would be less familiar with, or would haven't come across at all.

The most pertinent question is, whether the occasional use of more adult language in an exciting story creates difficulties for the children, or whether they just take it on board. The latter is the case. If the story is exciting children will happily be exposed to richly descriptive language and will benefit greatly. Their minds and imagination will actively create for them what's happening. They will experience some of the joys of language that has been so central to education in the history of human learning. If the language used is discussed a little, the benefits will be even greater.

Good fun makes literature accessible to children. That has been known for generations. This fun needs to be inherent in a story, but can be expanded beyond that. A good story usually has bearing on life in some way. That's a treasure of exceptional wealth. As mentioned, this wealth is becoming less accessible in modern days. The children of this world deserve better, an educational exercise that doesn't look like one. Isn't that the best kind of learning? <bio>For years Michael Spyker was head of a distance education department at tertiary level. In designing his latest project http://www.kid-ebook-stories.com the presentation of Eloise, the Witch and the Wordsmith was never far from his thinking. </bio>
