Diminished is important! Diminished size doesn't matter! Diminished is beautiful! Why am I hyperventilating? Okay, let's calm down and talk about diminished chords.

A diminished seventh chord in closed position has different four notes, each of which is separated from the other by a distance of three <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/semitones" rel="tag">semitones. Having said that, it should be clarified that a semitone is the smallest distance between two notes on a piano and closed position involves the different notes of a chord being placed as closely as possible to each other. Here are three different diminished chords:

B, D, F and Ab B#, D#, F# and A C#, E, G and Bb

Practically speaking, all other diminished seventh chords are derived from the above. For example, D, F, Ab and Cb would have been the next diminished chord in the above list, had I continued with a fourth example. However, D, F, Ab and Cb contain the same notes as B, D, F and Ab (the first chord in the list above). The only difference is the order in which the notes appear and the spelling of one of the notes (i.e. B and Cb are the same note on a piano).

So why state a comprehensive listing of twelve diminished seventh chords below. It is precisely because of the spelling of the notes that we have the more comprehensive list. The ways that notes are spelled out indicate which key we are in during a composition. From a theoretical standpoint, this knowledge is invaluable. Here is a more comprehensive listing of twelve different diminished seventh chords (all spelled differently):

B, D, F and Ab B#, D#, F# and A C#, E, G and Bb D, F, Ab and Cb D#, F#, A and C E, G, Bb and Db E#, G#, B and D F#, A, C and Eb Fx, A#, C# and E G#, B, D and F A, C, Eb and Gb A#, C#, E and G

Examples one through twelve above belong to the following minor keys respectively: C, C#, D, Eb, E, F, F#, G, G#, A, Bb and B. As a composer, knowing what key you are writing in is a necessity. As a pianist, the more insight you have into a composition that you are performing, the more depth you can give to your interpretation.

Here is a fascinating observation involving diminished seventh chords. If you take, for example, a diminished seventh chord of C minor (B, D, F and Ab), you can create four different dominant seventh chords by simply lowering any one of the notes in the chord by a semitone (a half step).

As a demonstration, if we lower the top note as such: B, D, F and G, then we have a dominant seventh chord of C major and a potential modulation to the tonic major of your original key. In plain English, that means that we can easily change keys from C minor to C major.

Using this system, the diminished seventh opens up the possibility of four different, quick modulations, making this chord a powerful tool in the hands of a skilled composer or piano improviser. <bio>Come and learn the basics of piano playing and music theory in a fun filled enviroment great for all ages and levels. http://www.pianolessons101.com will guide you through the wonderful world of learning an instrument on your own. </bio>

Musicians love their dominant sevenths. Why do they love them so much? Do dominant sevenths deserve so much attention at the expense of other hard working tax paying seventh chords like major and minor sevenths?

To start with, let's examine what a dominant seventh chord is. In its basic form, this chord has four different notes sounding simultaneously, with the spacing of three, three and four semitones between each of its notes (going from the lowest note to the highest note). Here is a list of twelve different dominant seventh chords:

G, B, D and F G#, B#, D# and F# A, C#, E and G Bb, D, F and Ab B, D#, F# and A C, E, G and Bb C#, E#, G# and B D, F#, A and C Eb, G, Bb and Db E, G#, B and D F, A, C and Eb F#, A#, C# and E

The above twelve chords belong to the following major and minor keys respectively: C, C#, D, Eb, E, F, F#, G, Ab, A, Bb and B.

The chords are called dominant sevenths because their bottom note starts on the fifth degree (called the dominant) of the scale. They also have a top note placed seven letters above the bottom note; hence, the word seventh appears in dominant seventh. For example, our first above listing is G, B, D and F. G is the fifth note in C major or C minor. As well, the F is seven letters above the bottom G (G, A, B, C, D, E and F=85 we count all of the letters including the G and F).

Dominant seventh chords are popular for a number of reasons. They are versatile in that they can be effectively stacked into a more complex chord. Again, let's use the first listing to demonstrate this. If we add another note overtop of our first chord, we get the following: G, B, D, F and A. This is called a dominant ninth chord. Similarly, we can build eleventh and thirteenth chords by using the same stacking technique. Dominant chords of this variety, when arranged skilfully, open the door to a whole new harmonic vocabulary in many styles of jazz.

Dominant sevenths also play a significant roll in different types of cadences. A cadence is a chord progression at the end of a music phrase, section or composition. The most common progression involving a dominant or dominant seventh chord is a 5-1 (called a perfect) cadence. Other common chord sequences involving dominant and dominant seventh chords include the following:

=952-5-1

=951-4-5-1

=953-6-2-5-1

The five in the above chord progressions signifies a dominant chord, which is often substituted with a dominant seventh, ninth, eleventh or thirteenth chord. As a final note, dominant seventh, ninth, eleventh and thirteenth chords are easily altered by raising or lowering the fifth and/or ninth note degree of the chord. <bio>Come and learn the basics of piano playing and music theory in a fun filled enviroment great for all ages and levels. http://www.pianolessons101.com will guide you through the wonderful world of learning an instrument on your own. </bio>

If you're familiar with the children's classic television show Sesame Street, you'll be well-served by a night using Avenue Q tickets. This innovative show took much of its influence from the television show, and its successful run has shown that Avenue Q is growing into a theater classic. Below is a look at the story itself and the production history, but the bottom line is that Avenue Q is a story that takes an "adult" view of a children's tradition.

The Story

The cast of Avenue Q is filled by puppets, although these are hardly the puppets millions have come to know on the television show. Avenue Q is a true spoof of Sesame Street, and the story centers on the main character, Princeton. Princeton has just graduated from college, and he has no money, as he's just getting his start in life.

Given his lack of funds, Princeton moves into a New York City apartment in the only neighborhood he can afford, and that apartment is on Avenue Q. Princeton slowly gets to know the other characters on his block, including Brian, an unemployed but laid back kind of guy who's engaged, Kate Monster, a teaching assistant who's unhappy with her lack of a boyfriend, Rod, the secretly-gay investment banker/Republican, Nicky the slacker, and a host of other interesting characters.

The basic premise of the story is life's struggles as they are encountered by young adults just getting their start in life. We'd tell you how the story plays out, but you'd be better off getting Avenue Q tickets for yourself to see just how this diverse and sometimes-racy neighborhood moves in the city that never sleeps.

Parallels with Sesame Street

There are several somewhat direct parallels between the play and the television show, and anyone familiar with the children's classic will recognize them instantly. Rod and Nicky are roommates, and they are clearly a parody of Bert and Ernie, with the most interesting twist to this parallel being that Rod is gay.

Another character, Trekkie Monster, is a spin-off of the Cookie Monster, and even the way the songs are sung and put together are eerily reminiscent of the television show. The most obvious connection is the use of puppets.

However, this is where the similarities end, as the theme of the story is quite mature. There are explicit lyrics in the songs, full "puppet" nudity, and strong sexual content between some of the characters.

Overall, Avenue Q tickets will take you back in time with its parallels with Sesame Street, but will also mesmerize you with the modern and often-hilarious twists on the original story idea. <bio>Written by Jay Nault, sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/ .
Diving into the waters is fun, especially on the hot days of summer. Of course, if you are planning to go to some island vacation getaway in some exotic island (or at least a place with that kind of theme going on), it becomes even more exciting, and what better way to have fun than flaunting your goodies with all the other skinny-clad bodies? Well, maybe for perfect ten-figures, but not for plus-size girls... think again.

Enjoying the sun and the beach and all the other things that come with it (like flattering stares from handsome guys while having your tan) is not restricted to certain body types and sizes. Yes, not being petite and all can make one self-conscious faced with the prospect of shedding clothes and showing some skin (okay, a lot of skin), but it does not have to be an awkward experience, especially with Avenue's fabulous plus size swimwear collection.

Honestly, Avenue's plus size swimwear line does not even look like a plus size line. The designs range from bright, tropical prints to more sophisticated and elegant looks. Avenue has skirtinis, swimsuits, and swimdresses that will just make you feel so feminine. Avenue's swimwear line is designed to tuck in the stomach with its built-in tummy tamer, to give you more control and make you look slimmer. The cuts are just as wonderful, playing the female contour up, and if the French renaissance women are alive they would have wanted their portraits done wearing the skirtinis. Avenue swimwear cuts will accentuate your assets and show off your figure, even help you create a flattering illusion if you need it to.

The colors range from earthy tones to more monotonous dark colors like black and navy blue, to help slim you down. The empire cuts will lift your bosom and lessen the attention to your tummy, and it will also give you a wider hips look. Also, Avenue offers an alternative way to cover up if ever you get self-conscious, with their really beautiful caftan -- it is airy and comfortable, with a V-shaped neckline and intricate design to help slim down your figure while at the same time make you feel more attractive.

Try the Bali inspired swimsuit with the wide straps so you can wear it as a halter or as bandeau, which either way, looks great with its vibrant colors. Or you can opt for Avenue's earthy batik skirtini, which has a nice ring to show off your cleavage with the contour bra and sewn-in cups to help. There are a lot of other swimwear choices and designs to choose from, just visit Avenue's website for your plus size swimwear needs, and you will be all set to some hot fun under the sun. <bio>Jon Prunty is a freelance editor for Coupon Cart. But these names are predetermined and the odds are highly against you to appear in that list of six people. The waiting list in this case might even be a few thousand years who knows! But you can very easily get the seventh slot within couple of months .... It is certain that you will get through if you follow this ancient trick. This is based on my humble spiritual experience and learning from the great masters...

Try it out and if it fails i am at your mercy....It never will... I guarantee you. This method works. God will call out to you very soon. He has no choice.... Starting tomorrow Call out for him at 4.00 am in the morning, my dear friend. Very few people will share these secrets with you... Think about all these with a calm mind. See you at 4.00 am tomorrow morning!

By the way do you have any clue of what it means when I say " God wakes you up" =85=85 <bio>Lecturer, entrepreneur and Fortune 500 business consultant, Vish Writer is the author of the Amazon No 1 bestseller, "The Joy of Becoming God" For more information, visit: http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com http://www.vish-writer.com http://www.simplifyyourthoughts.com </bio>

No matter your age, sex or location, if you have an interest in beauty, than you have an interest in Dinsdale Fifth Avenue. Dinsdale Fifth Avenue is a company which has a history of providing beauty solutions to people no matter what their current status. This is a high-end opportunity that can be easily taken advantage of if you are in the right place for it. With a little bit of information and understanding about what it is this company does, you'll be able to figure out if the products themselves and the company is for you.

The first thing that you should be aware of is the fact that Dinsdale Fifth Avenue company is one that caters primarily to skin care. As skin is one of the primary tellers when it comes to age and health, you'll find that it should be your most important concern when it comes to beauty. Firm, healthy looking skin can help you change your whole look, especially if you have been dealing with dried skin that looked prematurely aged before. You'll find that the products here are meant to primarily address that concern.

One of the things that sets Dinsdale Fifth Avenue apart from the rest is its strong dedication to the scientific improvement of the health and beauty prospects. The range of products in question has been thoroughly tested and developed by a group of trained New York-based dermatologist scientists, and more than just beauty is discussed. This group has extensive experience when it comes to dealing with skin conditions and diseases, and this is one of the reasons why they have products that can be used with the most serious of skin disorders.

Another appealing thing about the Dinsdale Fifth Avenue opportunity is that all of the products, from development to manufacture, are produced in house and have a logical, traceable progression. You'll find that with this care to conditioning, your skin will see marked improvement in overall health and appearance. Moreover, this can lead to a great deal more confidence and assertiveness both at home and in the work place; essentially, this can improve the quality of your life!

When you are looking for an opportunity in terms of marketing, it is important to remember that Dinsdale Fifth Avenue is not an MLM business. It is a brick and mortar business which nonetheless has a strong presence online. Moreover, their support system is the envy of the industry, with a consultant available around the the clock; there are many different things that need to be addressed at any given point, and it is easy to see that their consultants are trained to handle any contingency.

If you have an interest in beauty and health, take a look at what Dinsdale Fifth Avenue can offer you. Take some time and examine both their products and their business plans. Though there are no marketing positions that are readily available, it is always worth it to contact the company itself and to see what opportunities are currently available.<bio>Learn the Lemons from the Straight MLM Winners and read about Host4Profit from Brian Garvin and Jeff West at MLM Review Kings.
July 21 this year marks the seventh death anniversary of David Ogilvy, the renowned andquot;Father of Advertising, andquot; whose original thinking and insistence on certain basics rocked Madison Avenue in the sixties and seventies.

It is a great tribute to the man that the four basic principles he started in his day - a dependence on research, professional discipline, creative brilliance and a preeminent regard for delivering results to clients - still form the blueprint of today's advertising agency business.

Ogilvy believed that a good advertising man is someone who has many influences. The son of a classics scholar and a financial broker, Ogilvy himself had sold cooking stoves door-to-door and was so successful that he was asked to write an instruction manual for other salesmen. He also worked as a chef, researcher and farmer.

His start in advertising is the stuff of legend. His older brother, Francis Ogilvy, was at the time working in a London ad agency called Mather andamp; Crowther and showed his bosses the instruction manual that Ogilvy had written. Based solely on that, they offered him a job as an account executive. And just how good was the manual? Thirty years after it was written, Forbes magazine reviewed the manual and called it andquot;the finest sales instruction manual ever written.andquot;

Ogilvy created many advertising campaigns that grabbed attention and moved products off the shelves. Among people's favorites are those for Hathaway shirt, Schweppes, Rolls-Royce and Shell. He was considered both a creative genius and a maverick during his time and some of his efforts caused a stir in Madison Avenue, which was the heart of the advertising industry.

His first advertising effort showed a naked woman and, though he said this embarrassed him, he believed that nudity did have its place in advertising. In his book, Ogilvy on Advertising, he wrote about a French advertising campaign that played itself out on a giant billboard. The first of three installments showed a beautiful woman in a bathing suite with the caption, andquot; On September 2, I will take off my top.andquot; On September 2, the billboard was replaced with the same woman now wearing only a thong and a caption that said, andquot; On September 4, I will take off my bottom.andquot; By then the entire country was a-buzz as eager men waited to see if she would keep her promise. And on September 4, she did, with a product of the agency's client right beside her. <bio>Kadence Buchanan writes articles for http://4businesstalk.com/ - In addition, Kadence also writes articles for http://yourealestatesource.com/ and http://worldofinvesting.net/ </bio>

Cool, you think. You go to your computer and try to google your friend as well. Nothing comes up. You tell her. "Oh, well, you have to click "next" at the bottom of the page. Keep clicking that until you're on like, the forty-seventh page--do you see me yet?!" Of course, just keep clicking "next," why didn't you think of that?

You didn't think of it for the same reasons millions of other people searching the Internet don't think of it. They're either in too much of a hurry to pay attention to anything after the first results page, or they've come to believe that anything after the first results page isn't as interesting or helpful.

Getting your website and business on search engines is a good way to help promote yourself, but getting to the top of the search engines is where you want to be. After all, people aren't going to keep clicking until they find your site on the forty-seventh page. People don't even know they're looking for your site. It's your job to put it out there so it's easy for them to find, and one way you can do this is by getting to the top of the search engines.

Before you submit your website to a search engine you want to first make sure your site is rich in content and that you are avoiding all spam and html tricks. Then, once you're listed, keep these keep points in mind:

-the higher your number of inbound links, the better -pay loving attention to each page of your site -keeping keywords at the top of your page is the best place; matching search phrases is more effective than matching single words -elaborate graphics are not helpful

Once you've been successful in getting to the top of the search engines, you must keep working to keep yourself there. It is crucial to monitor your status on a regular basis, and pick up the step if you position on search engine result pages starts to slip. <bio>To find the best home based business ideas and opportunities so you can work at home visit: http://www.HomeGrail.com </bio>

One of the must see places to visit while in New York City is the Broadway district, located in Manhattan. Broadway is great if you are on a New York City walking tour, because there is so much to see on this very long avenue that runs from north to south. While Broadway is most famous for its shows, you will see some wonderfully designed old buildings, restaurants of every stripe, landmarks and lots of shops.

The famous Flatiron Building sits regally at the intersection of Broadway, Fifth Avenue and 23rd Street. Built at the turn of the last century, it is a wedge-shaped 21-story office building that still attracts curious visitors. Officially called the Fuller Building, after George A. Fuller financed its construction, it was nicknamed the Flatiron Building because the shape of the foundation looked like a flatiron.

It is rumored to have helped coin the popular 1920s slang phase "23 Skidoo" (meaning get out of here) when men would gather at the building on a windy day to watch ladies skirts fly up in a gust of wind. The officers would shoo the guys away uttering "23 Skidoo".

As you walk further up Broadway, you'll spot one of the world's most celebrated buildings =96 The Woolworth Building, located at 233 Broadway. The Building was commissioned by the wealthy merchant, Franklin Woolworth, founder of the F. W. Woolworth Company. Franklin Woolworth pioneered the concept of discount stores and got wealthy enough to pay over thirteen million dollars in cash for the building that bears his name. The Woolworth Building opened in 1913 and is a National Historic Landmark.

A short ten minute walk north will bring you to the famous Times Square =96 one of the most recognizable areas in the world. Your heart will skip a beat as you stand there at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue. Not only is this the famous theatre district, but you will be dazzled by the hustle and bustle of people, taxis, and so much to see and do. So, stand there a moment and take it all in.

If you are into people watching, this is the place to be. Sit down at a restaurant table, and watch all the interesting people walk by as you eat a nice meal. A famous place you might want to try out is The Rainbow Room, located just north of Times Square at Rockefeller Center. If you're in the mood for something sweet, Lindy's deli is known to have some awesome New York style cheesecake.

If you get to Times Square early enough in the morning, you can stand outside the NBC Studios and wave to your family and friends as they tape their morning program. The younger crowd may enjoy a visit to the MTV studio, also located in this area.

A lot of people come to Times Square to see a theatre show and this is where you buy tickets. Savvy theatre goers with extra time on their hands can be found at the TKTS (Tee-Kay Tee-Ess) booth waiting in line for discount theatre tickets. There are two locations in the city. The Broadway booth is located at 45th and 47th streets. While there's no guarantee of getting a ticket, you can buy tickets here for 25-50% off regular price.

After visiting shops for souvenirs, you might just pass by the Naked Cowboy (he performs in his underwear) strumming on his red, white and blue guitar and singing one of his original songs. Street performing or busking, is a long tradition in New York City. It certainly adds to the colorful atmosphere.

Continuting on your walking tour, you will reach Columbus Circle, which intersects Broadway, Central Park West and Central Park South. This is the first traffic circle ever built in the U.S. If you are a music and ballet lover, you'll want to see the Lincoln Center, home to the Joffrey and American Ballet troupes, and hosts to many orchestras and special cultural events.

Exploring Broadway Avenue will definitely be a rich experience during your visit to New York City. You will see first-hand why Broadway is celebrated around the world as a hub of entertainment and excitement. <bio>Cruise the beautiful Hawaiian Islands =96 even if you're on a budget http://www.last-minute-hawaii-cruise.com </bio>

When visiting Atlantic City in New Jersey, you may have planned your journey to this destination with one thing on your mind (the casinos) but there are many other places to visit while in the area. With a mystique and history that delights many, the city provides an entertaining selection of attractions and activities to enjoy during a stopover.

Boardwalk

Monopoly is not the only place where you can pay a visit to the Boardwalk. The original sight is located in Atlantic City and is one of the well-known attractions found on the East Coast. The Boardwalk is known across the United States, as well as on an international level. Measuring more than four miles, this sight offers a variety of eateries, shops, and access to the beach. While enjoying the scenery and experience, sampling the famous saltwater taffy of the city is a complete must.

Steel Pier

Located across from the Taj Mahal Casino at Virginia Avenue, you will encounter the amusement pier, which offers a wealth of history to explore. It is here that a variety of carnival games and rides are situated, which makes the perfect stop for a range of visitors, including vacationing families to lovers enjoying a romantic stop by the beach.

Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum

When it comes to exploring the unknown, the unexplainable, or the just plain weird, it is the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum in Atlantic City that will provide loads of entertainment. The exhibits at this site touch upon some of the oddest, strangest, and almost unbelievable displays of human achievements, nature, and the rest of the world. Why not join the more than 12 million visitors who have paid a visit to this museum, which can be found in about 50 sites located about the world? This attraction is known to provide a great distraction from the hustle and bustle of the casinos.

Absecon Lighthouse

For a pleasing Boardwalk detour, the Absecon Lighthouse serves as the tallest lighthouse in all of New Jersey. To enjoy a host of beautiful views about the city, the lighthouse is a great sight that dates back to 1855. Depending on the time of year that you visit this attraction, you may come across a variety of events, such as children's art exhibitions, garden parties, wine tasting parties, and entertaining murder mysteries. During the Christmas season, an array of holiday activities is held.

The Casinos

When planning a trip to Atlantic City, it is the casinos that bring in a lot of curious tourists. One of the first establishments about the Boardwalk is called the Resorts, which is situated on Pennsylvania Avenue. Next to this casino, the Trump Taj Mahal is positioned on Virginia Avenue, which offers a theme based upon the Arabian Nights tales. On Arkansas Avenue, you will encounter Caesars, boasting some of the best rooms in the city.

When visiting Michigan Avenue, you will come across the Bally's Wild Wild West Casino, which takes themed casinos to the next level. Want more options? Additional casino attractions in Atlantic City includes the Sands (Indiana Avenue); Trump Plaza (Mississippi Avenue); Atlantic City Hilton (end of the Boardwalk); and Harrah's (Boardwalk via Brigantine Boulevard). <bio>Find Cheap Atlantic City Hotels at http://www.atlantic-cityhotels.net/ </bio>

- the higher your number of inbound links, the better - pay loving attention to each page of your site - keeping keywords at the top of your page is the best place; matching search phrases is more effective than matching single words - elaborate graphics are not helpful

Once you've been successful in getting to the top of the search engines, you must keep working to keep yourself there. It is crucial to monitor your status on a regular basis, and pick up the step if you position on search engine result pages starts to slip. <bio>Not long ago, I didn't know ANYTHING about Internet marketing...
Well, it's that time of year again. For the seventh year running, this fall season we'll see a new season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation hit our screens.

Since its debut in the fall season of 2000, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has been a major draw for the CBS Network. It became the most watched program on television in the 2002-2003 season, and has since remained in the top 3 most popular shows ever since. As of the sixth season each episode attracted an average of 30 million viewers, and 90 million people have seen the show in the past year.

The sixth season closed with a spectacular two-parter in which Detective Jim Brass was left fighting for life after a hostage negotiation went wrong. When murderer Willie Cutler took a woman hostage in a Vegas hotel room, Brass volunteered to negotiate. However, when things went awry Cutler fired three shots at Brass - and one of the shots breached his bulletproof vest, a bullet lodging in his heart.

After Brass was rushed to hospital in critical condition, CSI Gil Grissom was informed that Brass had nominated him as his medical proxy, which meant that Grissom had to decide whether to allow doctors to perform risky surgery to remove the bullet or - equally dangerous - leave the bullet where it was and risk a stroke. Grissom, believing that Brass would have wanted it, ordered the surgery.

Meanwhile, Brass' estranged daughter Ellie arrived, more interested in how much she'd get from her father's pension scheme than in his well being. Grissom tried to make Ellie understand how much Brass cares for her, but Ellie seemed unwilling to listen. By the time Brass regained consciousness she had left, but Brass' CSI family were still by his side.

The season closed on a surprising note with Grissom finally getting together with Sara Sidle - a story arc that has been several years in the making.

So what does the next season have in store for CSI fans? Well, while the show will no doubt continue with the format that has seen it become one of the most successful shows on TV the main story in the coming season must revolve around the CSIs relationships. With a new romance blooming between Grissom and Sidle it will be interesting to see how these two loners will adapt to the new situation.

On that count, at least, even the stars of the show don't know how it will turn out. Jorja Fox, the actor who plays Sidle, didn't know that she and Grissom were getting together until just a few days before filming, but she believes that this one is for keeps: andquot;These two people, they have a lot in common. They're both really not great with people in many respects, and they're emotionally detached in many respects. If two people like that can kind of find each other, there's something really beautiful in that.andquot;

But it won't just be the relationship between Grissom and Sidle hogging the limelight. As we saw in the penultimate episode of season six Warwick Brown's marriage is on the rocks. After spotting his wife Tina with another man in the Lucky Dragon Casino Warwick confronted her, not realizing that she was planning a surprise party for Warwick's birthday. If Tina walks out on him, will Catherine offer Warwick a shoulder to cry on?

We'll have to wait and see... the story will unfold during the seventh season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation on CBS this fall. <bio>James Shenton is a New York-based entertainment writer.
If you are a classical musician, opera singer, jazz performer, or pop group, you may have grown up dreaming of one day performing at the world famous Carnegie Hall. For over a hundred years, Carnegie Hall has been a status symbol of the highest echelons of musical taste and appreciation.

Carnegie Hall bears the name of Andrew Carnegie, who originally had it built to house the Oratorio Society of New York and the New York Symphony Society. Carnegie, who was famous for his philanthropy, served on the boards of both organizations. The great hall opened its doors on May 5, 1891 and featured the famous composer Peter Tchaikovsky conducting his musical works.

Quite a prestigious beginning for a music hall. Over the years, many famous performers have appeared at Carnegie Hall, such as Duke Ellington, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Yo-Yo Ma and yes, even the Beatles!

Carnegie Hall houses three concert halls and a museum. The Main Hall seats 2,804 people and is five levels. If you don't want to walk up 100+ stairs, you can always take the elevator. This is where all the big concerts are held. The acoustics are marvelous. The late classical violinist, Isaac Stern, once said about the acoustics "It takes what you do and makes it larger than life."

The love that Isaac Stern had for Carnegie Hall is evident as you'll see that the Main Hall is now called the Isaac Stern Auditorium. Believe it or not, Carnegie Hall was slated for demolition in 1960, but due to the efforts of Stern, it was saved and eventually purchased by the City of New York for $5 million.

The other two halls are much smaller and suitable for more intimate performances. Zankel Hall seats 599 and the newer Weil Hall seats 268. You can also visit the Rose Museum, which houses the Carnegie Archives, artifacts and memorabilia of the buildings history and performances.

When you reach the great hall, located at Seventh Avenue and West 57th Street, you'll immediately admire its Italian Renaissance style architecture. The hall was even designed by a musician, an amateur cellist named William Tuthill.

Just a short walk around the corner is the Steinway Building, which displays some beautifully crafted Steinway pianos, the same type of pianos that are often used by Carnegie Hall performers.

There are over 100 performances a season held at Carnegie Hall. If you have your heart set on attending a concert there, be aware that you'll need to buy your tickets way in advance, because they tend to sell out quickly. If you are lucky enough to attend an event at Carnegie, you'll enjoy some of the world's finest musical performances while admiring its splendor. <bio>Cruise the beautiful Hawaiian Islands =96 even if you're on a budget http://www.last-minute-hawaii-cruise.com </bio>

A new sound is coming to earth. It will be very powerful, like nothing we have heard or experienced before. One of the components of that new sound is what I call-- the Music of His Presence.

It is music that has been born in the heart of God. Like a torrent of freedom and power that descends from on high and changes everything in its path, something very difficult to describe with words, but yet very real. It is music full of the majesty and the glory of God. I firmly believe that the music of His presence will be one of the distinguishing characteristics of the Church of the end times. It will completely revolutionize our worship services and will carry us to behold the very glory of the King.

The music of His presence flows from the realm of God's glory. It's a combination of melodies and harmonies that come from the throne room of heaven and break into the earth realm. As we will see, this heavenly sound flows through a growing generation of prophetic worshipers. They are an army of lovesick singers and musicians that will hear, taste and become the sound from heaven.

God said to Moses: "Come up to Me on the mountain and be there; and I will give you... Then Moses went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain... Now the glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud" (Ex. 24: 12, 15, 16). When Moses went up to Sinai, a cloud covered the mount, and the glory of the Lord rested there for six days. This was a powerful experience. Nevertheless, Moses continued waiting. During those six days the Holy Spirit covered him, and he felt the glory of God that rested on the mount, but there was more. On the seventh day, while he was in the midst of the cloud, the Lord called him again.

This call was distinct and much more intense...

"The sight of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights"(Ex. 24:17-18). Moses could climb up the mount to a certain point, but in order to climb higher, he had to hear the call of God and enter in the midst of the cloud. When Moses entered the cloud, he entered into the Spirit. It was no longer him climbing... The Holy Spirit carried him. He had crossed the threshold of the door that divides the natural from the supernatural, and entered into the spiritual realm. The Lord showed him eternal things, things that are not seen in the natural.

The music of His Presence is found in this realm of the Holy Spirit. Finding this realm will not only be impressive and revealing, but it will also produce the same longing in you that was produced in Moses, a passionate desire to know the Lord more deeply.

Be sure to read the sequel: "The Music of His Presence - 2" <bio>Pablo Perez, Director of JASPER STONE MUSIC - http://www.jasperstonemusic.com - and the creator of "Unedited Worship". All in all it has a lot to do with feelings and associations. What does that exact name mean to you? Did you know a great person that you would want to name your child after while your partner thinks or a hated childhood classmate?

In the year 2005 the top names in the United States by gender were: GIRLS -- (1) Emma, (2) Emily, (3) Madison, (4) Kaitlyn, (5) Sophia, (6) Isabella, (7) Olivia, (8) Hannah, (9) Makayla and (10) Ava.
