Being self-employed offers freedoms that traditional jobs usually can't match. Self-employed individuals can work from home, set their own hours, and be their own bosses. They can choose their own work assignments, provide the services they want to provide, and even choose their own wages.

Yes, self-employed individuals are living the life -- until it comes to health insurance, that is.

Most self-employed individuals, or individuals who work as independent contractors for a particular company, have to purchase their own health insurance policies. Without a traditional employer, there's no one to offer a health insurance package, right? So, self-employed individuals either purchase an individual health insurance policy, or they pay for the cost of health care completely out of their own pockets. For some, this seems like a pretty even trade; for others, it doesn't. Health insurance is a perk of many career choices, after all.

But, for all self-employed individuals, or individuals who work as contractors, there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. When tax season rolls around, many self-employed individuals and individual contractors have the option of writing off their health insurance costs, or even out-of-pocket health care costs. This means self-employed individuals and individual contractors have a chance at getting back a percentage of the money they spent towards health care.

Not everyone is familiar with writing off individual health insurance or out-of-pocket health care costs, especially those self-employed individuals who are fairly new to the world of self-employment. If you're a self-employed individual, or an individual who works as an independent contractor for other companies, consider contacting the IRS and finding out the necessary steps involved in writing off your individual health insurance or out-of-pocket health care costs. You may also want to talk with an accountant, or someone experienced with tax preparation. When tax season comes, you'll be prepared to start writing off your individual health insurance or out-of-pocket health care costs. <bio>http://www.myquoteguide.com/Student-Health.shtml http://www.ezquoteguide.com/home/ http://www.ezquoteguide.com/car/ </bio>

Self-employment offers a freedom that most other kinds of employment do not offer. If you are self-employed, you can set your own hours, set your own rates, and even work from the comfort of home in your pajamas if you want! Best of all, if you are self-employed, you are your own boss!

However, being self-employed does not mean you will not encounter a few bumps along the way. Sure, you can offer yourself flexible hours, awesome rates, and the best office possible, but can you offer yourself health benefits? The answer is a surprising yes! Since you are self-employed, you do not have an actual employer offering health benefits. This means you have to search for affordable health insurance for self-employed individuals.

Finding affordable health insurance for self-employed individuals can be done. When searching for affordable health insurance, take time to shop around. Always compare the coverage and cost of several different health insurance providers, as this can help save you money.

Another way to find affordable health insurance for self-employed individuals is to consider getting a group health insurance plan. This option is best for those people who have family members who can be covered under the health insurance policy; however, some health insurance providers allow single individuals to obtain group health insurance policies by stating they are a "group of one." Look for health insurance providers that offer this option.

Finding affordable health insurance for self-employed individuals is a goal of many, but it is also important to look for health insurance coverage that meets your specific needs, as well as coverage that is not going to be cancelled, especially if you get sick. Be sure to research all the health insurance providers you are interested in. The two main ways to get the most honest answers is to find health insurance providers' ratings and talk to other people who have health insurance policies with those providers. <bio>http://www.myquoteguide.com/Car-Tips.shtml http://www.ezquoteguide.com/home http://www.ezquoteguide.com/health </bio>

If you work for yourself, then finding a good loan deal can sometimes be difficult. With less means to prove that you have a stable income and so are not a risk, lenders are less inclined to offer you a good deal. However, with more and more people becoming self-employed this is changing, and there are some great deals around. If you are self-employed and need some help to find the right loan, then here are some useful tips to help you out.

Who is self-employed?

People classified as self-employed can be in a wide variety of jobs and pay categories. Anyone how operates a business as a sole proprietor, is a partner in a partnership, or an independent contractor, is classed as self-employed. If you also work in any role as a freelance agent, such as a consultant, then you are classed as self-employed also.

How to apply for a loan

Applying for a self-employed loan is much like applying for any other type of loan. All you need to do is have a decent credit history and be able to prove your income. How well you can prove your income will depend what business you are in and how long you have been self-employed. The better you can prove your income then the easier it will be to get a loan, which is why it is crucial to keep good business records.

What are the costs?

Although getting a loan if you are self-employed is becoming easier, the rates are still higher than for regular personal loans. This is because lenders see self-employed people as a greater risk, no matter how well they are currently doing. However, if you can show repeat contracts with clients over a few years, then you will be able to get a pretty decent loan rate. It is wise to shop around to look for the best deal, with a lot of the best deals being found online.

Loan insurance not worth it

If you are self-employed, don't be fooled into taking out the loan insurance. Although you might be covered for accident or injury, you are unlikely to be covered for unemployment unless you have completely ceased trading. Instead, take out adequate business insurance specifically for self-employed people. This will cover you for a lot more things and will save you money on your loan.

Self-certification

One of the biggest problems facing self-employed people is that you are often legally understating your earnings for the purposes of tax, which will hurt you when trying to get a loan. Lenders look at how much profit you are making, which of course is going to be understated to reduce your tax burden. However, a solution to this is to self-certify the amount that you earn. This means you inform the lender how much you earn, but you don't have to prove this with documentation. This will make it easier to be accepted for a loan, but will involve you having to pay higher interest rates. If you are self-employed, the easiest way to get a loan is to secure it against collateral such as property. Although you are putting the collateral at risk, if you know that you can pay the money back then it will get you a better rate and make the approval process easier. <bio>Peter Kenny is a writer for The Thrifty Scot, please visit us at http://www.loansubmit.co.uk/ and http://www.thriftyscot.co.uk/Loans/ </bio>

Self employment offers a lot of freedom for the lucky and dedicated people who make it their lifestyle. A self employed person has the ability to set his or her own schedule and to grow his or her career as high as the sky without needing to deal with the workplace politics that can stunt so many aspirations. Instead of waiting to be promoted, self employed people are able to take control of their career advancement. However, it can be difficult for any self employed person to take control of his or her health insurance.

Carrying health insurance costs can be a sizable burden, especially if you are just starting out a new career. Many people yearn to make the jump to being self employed, but even the most careful planners often underestimate the real monthly cost of health insurance. Before you decide to realize your dream of self employment, it is important to consider how much you may end up paying for health insurance if you do become self employed. Gather as much information as you can; find about the possible rates you will need to pay to cover yourself and any dependents that you have; and make sure that you factor those figures into your budget.

As a self employed person, you cannot take advantage of the kind of bulk rates that a traditional employer pays to cover his or her employee's health insurance costs, which is one reason why insurance rates for self employed people are so high. However, with a bit of research you may discover that you have access to a low bulk insurance rate through a non-corporate affiliation. Look into insurance programs related to educational institutions that you or a family member is affiliated with, and find out if your religious background might enable you to join an organization that can offer you a discount on your health insurance, like the B'nai Brith.

If you are not already a member of a group that can help you get an affordable health insurance rate, consider what groups you may be eligible to join. The Freelancer's Union was created in part for the purpose of allowing self employed people to get health insurance at discounted rates by bringing freelancers together. Look into options in your local community as well as nationwide organizations like this union. Sometimes, finding affordable health insurance as a self employed person is just a matter of being resourceful and thinking creatively. <bio>Gray Rollins is a featured writer for GettingHealthInsurance.
If you are fortunate enough to be self employed it can be extremely difficult to find affordable health insurance -- research indicates that many people don't go self employed for this very reason. Generally speaking, if you are employed by a large company, you have more options for affordable health insurance through your company's group plan.

If you are self employed and married, one easy option is to take out health insurance through your spouse. You may pay a little bit more to add yourself on to their insurance and you may also have to wait to do this until benefits enrollment is offered, usually in the fall for the following year. This is usually the cheapest option for insuring not only yourself, but your children as well.

One thing you should consider if it's relevant to your situation is taking advantage of what is commonly known as COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) health coverage. By law, if you leave your job, you are entitled to continuing health coverage provided by your employer for a certain amount of time.

COBRA coverage can be invaluable in bridging the gap between the health insurance provided by your old company and the insurance you take out for yourself when starting up a new business.

The type of insurance you need will vary as to your situation. If you employ between 2 and 50 people you would probably save money by enrolling in a group health insurance plan. If your business is just literally yourself, you may want to take out a temporary policy. These can be changed easily if your situation changes and are relatively inexpensive.

Finally, if you self employed and are in a financial position to do it -- pay your premiums annually, rather than spreading the payments out over a year and paying every month. This may save you a significant amount of money.

And one piece of good news is that health insurance costs for the self employed have been tax-deductible for the last few years - a trend only likely to improve. <bio>http://www.myquoteguide.com/Car-Tips.shtml http://www.ezquoteguide.com/home http://www.ezquoteguide.com/health </bio>

Being self-employed takes commitment. Anybody can be successful if you are willing to set forth hard work and dedication. To be successful you have to be a self-starter, organized, confident, and persistent. Keep in mind you may not see much profit at the beginning, just be confidant knowing all that hard work and long hours will pay off in the future. With all that being said there are many advantages to being self-employed here are a few of the most important.

Money is a huge advantage to being self-employed. Working for yourself means you have greater potential to make more money then you will working for someone else. For example say you make $10 hourly. Your employer pays $20 hourly for your work plus materials, now the equipment you operate produces $60 of product hourly. The company just profited $40 an hour on your $10 hourly salary. You being an entrepreneur want that $40 profit in your pocket not somebody else's right?

Accomplishment is another great advantage of self-employment. Knowing all the time and commitment it took to build a successful business that will provide for your family is a great accomplishment. Knowing your accomplishment is an example of what can be accomplished with hard work and dedication -now that's a great feeling!

Flexibility is another great advantage of being self-employed. You are the boss, which means you set the schedule. You work when you want and take the time you need, when you need it. That's why many successful business's hire hard working employees so the boss can take off when ever he or she needs to.

Freedom is yet another advantage to being self-employed. You will have the freedom to experiment with ideas of your own. Bringing your hobbies and the things you love into your work will bring you joy and increase your profits.

Family is the greatest advantage of all. Being self-employed allows you opportunity to spend more time with your family. This goes back to setting your own schedule so, when your child has a baseball game, soccer game or ballet recital you will always be there. Oh! Lets not forget no more calling sick!!!

Making the decision to become self-employed comes with many advantages that can greatly improve your lifestyle. <bio>Jared Mayer is owner of http://OnlineSolutionz.com and writes on many different business subjects to learn more Jared recommends you visit: http://www.OnlineSolutionz.com </bio>

There's at least a little comfort to be had on the self employed health insurance front; options are available.

Finding the best possible self employed health insurance will very likely depend on personal circumstance, however, and even the state in which one resides. For example, some states require insurance companies allow the inclusion of the self employed in group health plans under special circumstances; others do not.

The basic things to look at for self employed health insurance, include:

* Necessity. The self employed will generally find if another option is available, such as a spouse's group coverage, it will be the best overall choice. The coverage premiums tend to be less and the overall protection better in a lot of cases.

* Number of employees. If you're going into business on your own, with no employees, it might be difficult to get into a group policy. When this option is present, however, it tends to offer the greatest coverage for the least amount of money. The number of employees in the business can open the door for group coverage. Also, if you are going it alone, check closely to see if your state offers any group health coverage loopholes for the self employed. This could save you a bundle.

* Type of coverage desired. This will greatly impact the options and prices being offered. Decide if you want an HMO, PPO or simply catastrophic hospitalization coverage. The first two options are the ones most people tend to go with, but the last has some benefits in a pinch.

* Money available to spend on premiums. This, unfortunately, will be a big determining factor for many - especially the newly self employed in most cases. Policies can range from a little over $100 in some cases to well into $1,000 or more.

Once decisions have been made, it's time to shop around. The best way to do this is to stake out a decent block of time and do some major comparison shopping. Plan on receiving a lot of telephone calls and placing them, even if the Internet is used.

To make the determination on the best possible plan for self employed health insurance, it's important to look at the overall picture. Consider such things as deductibles, monthly premiums, overall coverage, out-of-pocket expenses and even drug coverage. The best options will generally rise to the top pretty quickly.

Going into business can be a fantastic step for freedom and financial security. It can, however, bring a lot of worry with it. Shopping for the best self employed health insurance tends to be one of the very big concerns that come along with this proposition. Take the time to fully research the options to find the best possible coverage for the most economical rate. Doing so can pay off down the road. <bio>For more information on health insurance, try visiting http://www.healthinsurancedecision.com - a website that specializes in providing health insurance related tips, advice and resources to include information on self employed health insurance. </bio>

A lot of employed people today believe that one of the privileges that they get from their work is the insurance coverage. This is a good thing, because purchasing insurance for yourself, outside the group which your office covers, may be a little more expensive. Because health insurance is a very vital thing to have, people really think of these purchases as investments, and in the long run, they realize how valuable having health coverage can be.

What if you are not employed at the moment? What if you have left your previous company, and are now uncovered by your group health insurance? If you are self-employed, doing freelance work and the like, can you still get yourself health insurance? The answer is yes. You can never tell when you are going to need medical help, especially when you are self-employed, and are not under the coverage which your company carries. You can still get self-employed health insurance, and here are some things you may need to know about it.

Self-employed health insurance, like all other types of health plans, involve a pre-assessment process and approval. If you are unsure of how much these insurance plans can cost you per month or per year, you can always consult online to find out about your options. Many websites of insurance companies offer free health insurance quotes, where you can get results right away, within a few minutes. These free health insurance quotes will require you to answer some questionnaires, which include info about your health condition, your employment, monthly salary, and others.

Afterwards, you will be given an estimate of how much you might be spending per year, and which policies are most applicable to your situation. Some self-employed health insurance plans do not include comprehensive coverage, as this may be the preference of the insurer. It can be a little more expensive to have self-employed insurance as opposed to being under a group policy, but your plan will be tailored to suit your health needs more specifically. Find out how you can be eligible for low rates for insurance for self-employed individuals, and get yourself insured today.

If you are planning to leave a job to become self-employed, or have recently left your job, the easiest route to health insurance coverage may by through a COBRA policy with your former employer. If you are leaving your job to work for yourself, your former employer is required by federal law to allow you to continue your health insurance coverage for at least eighteen months after your employment termination date. You will pay more, as your employer is no longer obliged to subsidize your coverage you'll pay the full price and the former employer is allowed to tack on a two percent charge for administration costs. But, at least you will be covered.

In addition to getting information about your former employers COBRA plan, if you are coming out of a job, do shop around and get different quotes from different insurance agents. Services such as InsuranceDesk.com make it easy for you to do comparison shopping. You can comparison shop with a single agent, as many of them are able to provide quotes from many different insurance carriers. However, sometimes specific agents favor specific insurance plans, or are even restricted to providing plans from a single insurance carrier, so in the long run you'll do better with more choices and that means speaking to at least two or three insurance agents. <bio>To find out more about insurance: http://www.insurancedesk.com http://www.insurancedesk.com/apx-h105-self-employed-health-insurance.html For information about alternative medicine: http://www.goldbamboo.com </bio>

Being self employed has many perks, however, securing a loan can be difficult. Lenders see a self employed person as a risk. That is because they do not have a guaranteed paycheck and their income often varies so much that it is hard to pinpoint exactly what their average income is.

Lenders use a persons average income to determine how much they can lend them or even if they can lend them anything. Additionally, the documentation of self employment income is often self kept records that can not be justly verified. All is not lost, though, as there are options for self employed loans.

As mentioned lenders will look at many factors to determine is a person is eligible for a loan. They need a certified record of income. Usually this would be pay stubs, but with a self employed person there are no pay stubs to use as a certified record. Instead the bank will want to see the accounting for the business or past years tax returns.

Another big factor with self employed loans is if they are secured or unsecured. Since self employed people are considered high risk a secured loan is probably the best choice. With a secured loan the self employed person puts up collateral to secure the loan.

Self certification (also know as self cert) loans are not easy to get and they often cost more than a typical loan. Self cert loans charge higher interest rates and can be very difficult for a person to get if they do not have a good credit rating.

That said, if you are self employed and have a less than perfect credit history, all is not lost. Because of the amount of people that encounter credit problems during their lives, the banks and lenders have had to relax their lending criteria in order to service this market.

There are also a number of specialist lenders emerging in order to target this niche area. So for these reasons if you are self employed and have a bad credit history then over the coming years it will be a lot easier to obtain finance.

In recent years, though, more and more people have started working for themselves. Due to this more and more lenders are open to the idea of self employed loans. The interest rates have also come down on them. The best way to get a self cert loan is to be prepared before meeting with the lender.

For a self employed loan a person should have:

- Tax returns for at least the past two years. - Current accounting records. - Proof of any additional income. - Banking statements for past twelve months. - Copy of business license. - List of all assets, including bank accounts. - Current debt information, including creditors names and contact information and mortgage statements. - Proof of any child support or alimony paid out. - For adverse or no credit, proof of some revolving credit account, such as rent or utility receipts.

Being prepared and having all of this documentation can be very helpful in securing a self employed loan. They may be hard to find, but with luck a self employed person should be able to find and obtain a loan just like they would if they had typical employment. <bio>James Copper is a mortgage broker with over 30 years experience.
One of the greatest uncertainties in life is falling sick or being disabled with no money in your pocket, especially if you are self-employed. This uncertainty can be overcome by a health insurance which is a system in which the insurer, usually a private company or government owned company pays the medical expenses of the insured, if the insured falls sick or gets in an accident due to covered causes. In return the insured has to pay a monthly premium to the insurance company. Health insurance which provides insurance for the self-employed is known as self-employed health insurance.

Self-employed include farmers, contractors and small business owners, freelance writers, lawyers etc. There are some factors that separate self employed health insurance from ordinary health insurance.

Cost - Self-employed health insurance is costlier than health insurance provided through an employer (like a company). This is because in larger groups the cost of insurance gets distributed as compared to smaller groups. This is one of the reason people are reluctant to go for self employment. There are ways and means to reduce this cost which will be detailed subsequently.

Tax Benefit - Fortunately the self-employed health insurance premium is 100% tax deductible.

Reducing Costs - The best way to reduce insurance cost is to go for family cover in your spouse group insurance through his/her company (that is if your spouse is working). Another way is if you employ between 2 to 50 people, you can go for group insurance.

If you are leaving a corporate job you can opt for COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act). COBRA is a law that makes it mandatory for your employer to provide the option of retaining membership in their health insurance plan. However you will have to pay the entire monthly premium part which was paid by your company earlier. However you may be surprised at the high cost of the premium which may run up to 500$ a month.

Temporary Health Insurance - If you are planning to remain self employed for a small period of time and plan to join another company later, you can opt for a temporary health insurance. This is the cheapest type of health insurance available today. However annually the premium keeps increasing as you grow older.

If you have none of the above ways to reduce insurance cost then the only way is to go for standard individual policy. As mentioned earlier they are usually costly but are very important for insuring the future. <bio>Keith George always writes about valuable news andamp; reviews.
People are focused towards their health these days. This is the reason that you can find several health gyms, food chains and dieticians around you. This is fine. However, people tend to neglect an important aspect about their health and that is the possibility of getting inflicted by various diseases or facing medical emergencies. This makes them lose out on all their savings during an emergency. These days, it is really hard to pay for hospital treatment and medical bills without an insurance policy. Hence, it is important to purchase health insurance policy to ensure safety for your health.

Self employed health insurance is one of the most famous and appreciated insurance policies available for consumers on the market. People who own a business or freelance do not have a fixed income. Therefore, they cannot be benefited by a general health insurance policy. Self-employed health insurance is especially designed for people who own a business or freelance.

If you purchase a self employed insurance policy, you can easily incur costs for all your hospital treatments, serious ailments, physical injuries and medical bills. It is a great option. However, you can only get benefited if you are able to find the best self-employed cover. The policy should be affordable.

Here are some common options that can make health insurance affordable if you are self employed:

a) COBRA:

This is the best option for the beginning of your self employment. Once you leave your job to start a business of your own, your employer should give you the option of retaining membership in his health insurance plan by law for several months. You need to cover the entire monthly premium paid by your company. Here, the actual cost of this insurance is more affordable compared to those plans that you would have otherwise purchased as an individual. However, you should remember that it is only temporary. Try to look for other health insurance options while you are still covered.

b) Group health insurance for the self employed:

Most states such as Maine provide affordable group policies for groups of one via health insurance companies. All you require to do is to shop around to find a company that provides one at affordable rates. Make sure that the health insurance covers everyone in the group, irrespective of health conditions. The policy insures you and your family against possible hazards due to illness or accident.

c) Coverage under a spouse's plan:

This is one of the most common options available to cover the family for health insurance with the help of a spouse's employer. If a member of the couple is working for a company that has a group health insurance plan, it is usually considered as the most affordable option for insuring the whole family.

There are several factors you can benefit from when purchasing self employed health insurance plan. First and foremost, you will have the tax benefit with your self employed health insurance plan. The self employed health insurance premium is 100% tax deductible.

Another benefit is reduced costs in premium. This can be easily availed via your spouse group insurance through the spouse's company. You can also get this benefit via employing 2 to 50 people in your company.

A self employed insurance is very important for a business owner and a freelancer. <bio>For more information on health insurance, try visiting http://www.healthinsurancedecision.com - a website that specializes in providing health insurance related tips, advice and resources to include information on self employed health insurance. </bio>

If you are looking for a new job, you might be considering self-employment. This is a growing option in the past decade. Companies are much more willing to hire outside consultants and advisors, because it is often easier for them than having you on their payroll. Before you launch yourself into a new business venture, there are a few things to consider.

The major difference between being self-employed and working for someone else is the paycheck factor. When you are employed by a company, you are guaranteed a paycheck; when you are self-employed, your payments might be more sporadic. Just as you might have a dry spell in your business, when you are employed by a company, you might also run the risk of being downsized or laid-off.

Being self-employed takes strategy. You need to come up with a business plan, and then find out ways to finance that business plan. The initial start-up cost might be prohibitive to many people, but there is always the possibility of getting a bank loan for your new business. The danger with this bank loan is that you are personally responsible for paying the money back, and so if the business flops, you will still have to pay the bank back.

Working for a boss, however, might not be challenging enough for you. You might have plans for how to improve the business in many ways, and these ideas are never respected. Conversely, you might have a great idea, but then that idea becomes no longer yours when the company takes the credit and the copyright. Working for yourself might be easier for an independent thinker or problem-solver.

Beginning a business of your own not only takes start-up cash and a business strategy, it also requires a major time commitment. You will probably find yourself working much more than the normal forty hour work week as you begin your job. Later, however, you will be able to plan your own vacation time and take the occasional four-day weekend if you have the time or money available for this.

Where do the benefits come from when you are self-employed? I don't just mean positives; I mean benefits as in dental and medical. When you work for an employer, you have benefits from the company. When you are self-employed, you don't have benefits. It is strongly encouraged that you find an insurance company to provide for the what-if scenarios. You can often find a plan that suits your needs better (at a higher price, sometimes) when you are shopping for individual benefits.

Just as you would need to find your own benefits if you were self-employed, you would also need to provide your own insurance. People who work for themselves should consider getting insurance for more areas than you might need if you were employed at a company. When you are self-employed you don't give money from your paycheck to Employment Insurance, and so you can never collect Employment Insurance. Consider hospitalization insurance and other forms of insurance if you are planning on becoming self-employed.

It can be hard for expectant mothers to be self-employed. Being self-employed means that you don't have maternity leave pay, and so women often work during pregnancy. With no means of paying for a newborn infant, more than half of self-employed women resume work within a month of the baby's birth, compared to only 16% of salaried employees. In Quebec, a new program has started where all self-employed people contribute to a maternity leave fund, and they can then go on maternity leave. Discover your local maternity rules for self-employment to see what possible benefits you could have. If you are not planning on having kids, perhaps you would prefer to live someplace without extra taxation on the money you have worked so hard to earn.

If you do have kids, being self-employed allows you to make your own schedule. This way, you can more easily co-ordinate with your children's schedule, and you would rarely find yourself missing important events (like that recorder concert at the Christmas assembly). Unfortunately, however, you need to consider your children with respect to your health care benefits. As children are often covered on their parents' plans, if you are self-employed, you should be sure to get a benefit plan that suits your needs if you are a parent.

Working for yourself and working for a company each have pros and cons. Regardless of how you choose to work, knowing your benefits, insurance, and scheduling can help you maximize your job satisfaction. <bio>If you are going out on the job market, make sure that you have the best resume possible with http://www.theguideto-resumes.com.
"Cheap Health Insurance" Is there really such a thing? If you're looking for coverage against major medical bills, then yes, there is a form of cheap health insurance available for you. Forget about the high priced conventional insurance plans and start exploring the new types of low cost, self employed health insurance available today.

Self Employed Individual and Family Health Insurance Plans

HDHPs or High Deductible Health Plans can offer you significant savings over other types of health insurance if you're self employed. The reason they can do this is simple. More of the responsibility for your health care costs is placed on you, the insured. In short, you choose a deductible amount for which you are responsible to pay before the insurance company is responsible to pay.

Deductible amounts for a high deductible health plan range from $500 to a high of $10,000. Each insurance company has it's own list of deductible amounts to choose from. With many of these new plans you can start with a very basic policy and add on individual riders for other types of coverage. A popular choice is the routine doctor visits and exams rider.
Self employment is seen as a risky business when it comes to getting a loan. Self employed borrowers are going to face some difficulties if they are not prepared when they try to get a loan. A self cert loan requires some special documentation in order to prove to the lender the income of the borrower.

Self employed borrowers are seen as high risk. It is because they are not backed by a large companys payroll. The income of a self employed person is not steady and reliable like it would be if they were an employee of a company. The income is not guaranteed, either. Banks see this as risky because there is no guarantee that the borrower will have the money to pay them back.

Another problem with the self cert borrower is verifying the income. If the self employed person does not own their own business, such as the case with an independent contractor then it can be hard to prove income. They will not likely have a paycheck as proof or have a special business account where the income earned can be easily tracked.

Typically for self cert loans a borrower can expect to have to prove their income in a verifiable manner. This is so the bank can have proof of their income and can see just how much the borrower earns.

Additionally, it helps to avoid fraudulent claims about income. The most requested proof is tax returns. Many banks prefer to have two or more tax returns. If the person has other proof they should provide this as well.

The best bet for a self cert loan is a secured loan. With secured loans the borrower has to put up collateral for the loan. If the borrower is a home owner then a home equity loan will be the best bet.

Lenders like secured loans because they are guaranteed to get some of their money paid in any event because of the collateral. However, a self employed person using their home as equity should be very sure they can afford the loan because their home is at risk if they can not.

Getting a self cert loan will be more work than a typical loan. Lenders are going to be cautious and treat this as a risky loan, even if the borrower has exceptional credit. A self employed borrower can expect to have to show more documentation of their income.

They can also expect higher interest rates. Lenders are probably going to tack of fees and treat this as they would a loan for a borrower with bad credit. If the self employed person has rock solid proof of income, such as three or more years of tax returns, they may see a benefit because the bank may be less strict on them with lower fee and rates.

It all comes down to proving income with a self cert loan. The better a borrower can prove their income, the better their loan process will go. <bio>James Copper works as a Self Certification Loan Broker for Any Loans who offer Self Cert Loans - http://www.any-loans.co.uk/self-certification-secured-loans.shtml </bio>

The heat insulation is the method to prevent heat escaping a container or from entering the container. In other words, the heat insulation can maintain a sector included such as a hot building, or it can keep the interior of a cold of container. Heat is transferred starting from a material to the other by conduction, the convection and/or the radiation. Insulators are used to reduce the transfer of the calorific energy to the minimum. In the insulation at the house, the R-value is an indication of at which point a material insulates.

The principal types of insulation are associated the principal types of thermal transfer: * Reflectors are used to reduce the transfer of radiant heat. * Foam, the fibrous materials or spaces are employed to reduce the conducting thermal transfer by reducing the physical contact between the objects

Become, of fibrous materials or evacuated spaces are employed to reduce the transfer of heat of convection while stopping or by delaying the movement of the fluids (liquids or gases) around the insulated object. The combinations of some of these methods are often employed, for example the combination of surfaces and the vacuum reflective in a bottle of vacuum. The thermal transfer of arrangement is important while projecting how to isolate an object or a person from heat or cold, for example with the correct choice of isolated clothing, or to extend insulating materials under in-floor to heat the cables or the pipes in order to upwards direct as much heat like possible in the floor space and to bring back the loss of heat to the ground below. <bio>You can find more info in the http://www.glueguns.net portal, which is administrated by the author of this article. </bio>

Such a policy pays out part of your income in the event of you being unable to work through accident or illness after a waiting period until you either go back to work, die or retire. Income Protection Insurance is different to Critical Illness Insurance as the latter normally pays out a lump sum in the event of you being diagnosed with a specific critical illness.

Income Protection Insurance is particularly beneficial to the self employed as, in the event of them being unable to work through accident or illness, their income will often cease immediateley whereas an employed person will often be paid by their employer for several weeks/months in such an event. Therefore an employed person would not need the policy to pay out until they stop being paid by their employer but the self employed would often need the policy to pay out more quickly. The quicker you need to receive the income from an Income Protection Insurance policy in the UK the more expensive the policy costs.

If you require Income Protection Insurance to pay out until say age sixty five rather than to age sixty then the cost would be greater.

What you do for a living will affect the cost of an Income Protection Insurance policy in the UK- ie an electrician is statistically more likely to suffer an accident than say an accountant and therefore the former will pay a higher premium.

Obviously the level of income that the policy pays out will affect the premium of an Income Protection Insurance policy- the greater the income the higher the premium. There are limits on the percentage of your income you can insure.

There are a number of other options often available that need to be considered -ie are the premiums guaranteed throughout the term of the policy or reviewable after a number of years. Are there any exclusions from the policy paying out-ie due to self inflicated injuries.

Having Income Protection Insurance in the UK or not having such insurance could provide the difference between having a reasonable standard of living or struggling on benefits in the event of you suffering an accident or illness.

As with many insurances- the choice is yours as to whether you arrange such cover! <bio>Alan Hope runs a lifestyle management and concierge service business for both UL and Overseas clients.
One of the major hassles of being self employed is the need to find an affordable health insurance plan that doesn't break the bank as you're trying to keep your own business running successfully. With all the articles and news casts about the ever rising costs of health care, the thought of finding an appropriate insurance policy that is also cheap can seem like a daunting task at first glance.

The good news is that if you are self employed then you have an abundance of choices in health insurance options. There is individual health insurance, small group health insurance, discount plans, and then the process of looking at various insurance companies and allowing them to bid away for your business. The most important aspect of finding a good health insurance plan is to be organized and to do your research before you actually start the process of shopping.

Individual health insurance is often the best way to go because these policies tend to be the cheapest. This has a major asterisk, in that your family will not get coverage. If you are single, this is not an issue. If you have small children or a pregnant wife, then this is a very big deal. If individual health insurance is a viable option, you should strongly pursue these policies as they usually cost only 50% as much as group plans or other options.

Small group health insurance often takes place when a group of small business owners band together (and some states require only as few as two people) in order to get insurance coverage. If this is much more expensive, then why choose this over individual health insurance? It depends on your history. If you are older, then having a group of younger individuals can bring down the cost. Also, if you have a pre-existing condition then they still can not turn you down.

These are the two best options for most self-employed individuals, although there are other options, though often with more danger of the unscrupulous side of things getting involved. One thing to note, is that at least of the writing of this article laws have been passed so that your individual health insurance is 100% tax deductible in the United States. That's right: every penny spent in a policy to keep you covered can be used as a tax write off from Uncle Sam. This can strongly help to off-set what may seem like prohibitive costs from covering yourself via an individual health insurance policy.

Health insurance is important, and self-employed health insurance is even more so since you are solely responsible for lost income, as well as your own health. There are companies who specialize in insurance for small businesses, so check around to see what type of a special deal they might be able to offer. There are a wide arrange of options out there, so just do your research and look around and you'll find the right self employed health insurance for you. <bio>For more information on health insurance, try visiting http://www.healthinsurancedecision.com - a website that specializes in providing health insurance related tips, advice and resources to include information on self employed health insurance. </bio>

Being self employed can cause a lot of problems when trying to secure a loan. Many lenders prefer to have a lot of documentation and proof of income. Self employment is seen as risky business because the income is not guaranteed and is not often steady.

Lenders like to deal with people who have a steady income that is not likely to change. For the self employed, though, there is a special loan, called a self certification loan.

A self cert loan is ideal for the self employed. A self cert loan requires no documentation or limited documentation of income. Instead the borrower declares their income. Some lenders will want to see bank statements so they can get an idea of the borrowers income.

Like most loans that are considered risky, a self certification loan is going to be more expensive then a typical loan. The lender is going to charge higher interest and fees.

In order to help lower costs, bringing in some documentation can help the borrower. They may wish to provide any proof of their income for a one year period or longer, if they have it.

In general, lenders want proof of three years of income fro a self employed person. This may be difficult or not at all possible for some borrowers. That is where a self certification loan comes in handy.

With a self cert loan, the lender is going by the borrowers word. This alone is a risk. The lender can not be guaranteed that the borrower earns what they say they do. This is why many lenders will still ask for some type of income verification, such as bank statements or earnings statements.

Providing something to the lender to prove creditworthiness can help. Current loan payments or other regular payments, like rent, can be used as proof of reliability. Additionally, a borrower can provide whatever they have to show income, such as bank statements or eve customer documentation.

Self cert loans are best used to get started with a loan. Borrowers should look into a self certification loan as their first loan choice only if they have never borrowed before as a self employed person.

Once they have secured a loan as self employed and maintained a good payment history on such loan for about two years, they should not have difficulties getting a different type of loan later on. This can be a big money saver, since they will then qualify for more traditional loans at lower interest rates.

A self cert loan is something offered as an alternative. If a person can qualify for a different type of loan then they should, by all means, go with that loan. As mentioned, self certification loans are risky and costly.

Lenders prefer to try to find an alternative before jumping into a self certification loan. Borrowers should feel the same way, but if a self certification loan is the only option, then it is a better choice then not being able to secure a loan at all. <bio>James Copper likes to write on a number of different areas of real estate and mortgages.
Do you consider yourself self employed or have contractors that you consider to be self-employed? Do the contractors turn up to work everyday, have tasks and assignments controlled by the employer, complete assignments on site using company property, and seem to be treated like an employee? If so, you have employees and not self employed contractors even if you have a contract that states otherwise. Many contractors wrongly pretend to the HMRC that they are self employed even though legally they are considered employees.

In a recent Court of Appeal case it was decided that two workers who identified themselves to the HMRC as self employed contractors could actually argue that they were employees when it suited the situation. The employees were able to bring unfair dismissal claims against the employer even though they had contracts that claimed these were self employed individuals. If you are an employer, this case should cause you some alarm because your company could be open to an unfair dismissal claim when you terminate a contract. All companies really need to make sure that the workers they are using are truly self employed contractors and not employees in disguise.

What makes this Court of Appeal case so interesting is the employer argued that the employees lied about their employee status when it suited them for tax purposes but then when it suited the situation the employee changed their status in order to sue for unfair dismissal. The court found that these employees were originally brought in as self-employed contractors but later, through the actions and suggestions of the employer, they became full employees. Proper training for your management team is essential in order to prevent this situation from happening to your company. Train your managers on how to deal with and how to treat your contractors in order to prevent them from treating a contractor like an employee.

If you hire people for your company, what can you do to prevent your company from the possibility of an unfair dismissal claim from your contractors? First, you need to make sure your contracts are correct. Your contracts need to create a distinction between an employee and a contractor and contain explicit information on what is expected from your contractors. An employment lawyer will be able to confirm that the proper language is included in your contracts and work documents in order to protect your company from a potential lawsuit. You may also want a lawyer to audit the individuals you are working with to determine if the people currently working in your organization are self-employed contractors or employees in disguise.

All employers should take the necessary precautions to protect their company from potential employee related lawsuits. Unfair dismissal claims are only one of the possible reasons that you can be sued. Take the time to have a lawyer review in detail who owns all intellectual property created during the course of the contract. It is important to determine who owns the content created for your company. For employees all intellectual property is automatically owned by the company but if you're using a self-employed contractor the contract owns the materials. Protect your company by speaking to a lawyer today.

This article is free to republish provided the authors resource box below remains intact.<bio>Ian Robinson is a Managing Partner of a large Hampshire Employment Solicitor Firm.
