I couple of years ago I went through somewhat of a depression. I guess that is fairly normal, but I ended up going to see a counselor to talk through my issues. Being a counselor myself, it felt kind of strange at the beginning, but I did it anyway. Why? I guess because I am a firm believer that sometimes healing comes only as we get outside of ourselves and share with others. Anyway, one of the first things my counselor suggested that I do was make a list of things that intrigued me and that I'd like to learn about. Ever since then, I have been working my way through my list. I guess it is sort of my life goals in a way. I'm currently working on memorizing and being able to write the Chinese characters.

Learning how to write the Chinese characters was somewhere in the middle of my list. I'm not sure what exactly inspired me to include it on my to-do list except that I've been to China once and I still cannot get over how beautiful the written Chinese characters are. So their beauty intrigued me enough to want to learn them. So last fall I enrolled myself in an introduction to Chinese class and began plugging away at learning the Chinese characters.

The Chinese characters have proven to be as hard to master as they look. I thought they would come easily for me since I have at least a little bit of artistic talent. But no. They didn't. I have had to really discipline myself and practice consistently to grasp even the most simple Chinese characters. Many friends have suggested that I just quit because they know that I don't have any intention of ever learning how to speak or communicate the language.

There is something in me that cannot quit learning the Chinese characters though. Maybe it is because I am really trying to learn commitment to even small things and because I am trying to accomplish all of my goals. I just know that when my counselor suggested that working towards goals we care about can be really healing for people, I took her words to heart and have found that they are true. I have found a great amount of healing by focusing in on the things I want to see happen in my life. Even small things like learning to write the Chinese characters have taught me so much about myself. <bio>Analeese Burnabaker is a counselor who is happy to receive the counsel of others. Learning the Chinese characters is just one goal among many for her. Interested?
Handmade handbags have gone from being acceptable to being popular as a fashion accessory. That's a refreshing development considering so many things nowadays are mass produced. Whether it be a car, a piece of clothing or a pair of shoes, every product we come across nowadays is a clone that is identical to hundreds or thousands of others of its kind. Customized and individualized have been relegated to the sidelines. Not so with handmade handbags; those looking to express their individuality can do so with handmade handbags.

Handmade Handbags Turn Hobbyists Into Entrepreneurs

Making handmade handbags is one practical hobby. Its end result is something the creator or anyone else can use for his or her own purposes. If you have become good at making handmade handbags, there's a chance that an admiring friend or acquaintance will take notice and ask you to make a handmade handbag for him or her. Then commissions, and orders for more handmade handbags may follow. Before you know it, you're running a small business making handmade handbags!

Take the case of Lisa of Michigan., a creative craft hobbyist. Lisa discovered handmade handbags and started building a personal collection. She made a handmade handbag for herself, one for each day of the week, and a few extra handmade handbags for special occasions. Before her daily fix could have a chance to turn into a full-blown addiction, a friend asked her to custom-make a personalized handmade handbag. Lisa's profit from the sale of her handmade handbag was enough to pay for the next two handmade handbags she intended to make. It was a revelation of sorts when Lisa got orders for more handmade handbags, and had those two handmade handbags pre-sold. What started as an engrossing hobby of creating handmade handbags was turning into a profitable venture!

It's not hard to imagine that the case of Lisa can be replicated many times over for other crafts enthusiasts.

The Merits of Handmade Handbags

Handmade handbags enjoy distinct advantages over the mass-produced variety. If well-made, a handmade handbag can be of top quality. Handmade handbags satisfy the particular tastes of an individual, and frequently, are either virtual works of art or labors of love. Handmade handbags also tend to be durable, and may last for many years.

Handmade handbags, anyone? <bio>Find more Helpful [http://www.handbagsonsalenow.com/]handbags tips, advice (and Resources) Click Here: http://www.handbagsonsalenow.com

A Popular website that specializes in tips and Sources of Handbags to include Kate Spade Handbag, Marc Jacobs Handbag and

[ http://handbagsonsalenow.com/guess-handbag.html]Guess Handbag </bio>

Though you may see the ads throughout the year, the most common time to find advertisements for diet centers is in the month of January. This is because many people make it their new years resolution to lose weight. Weight seems to be something that everyone obsesses over, and you may find that even those who don't have any weight to lose are constantly watching what they eat and monitoring their level of exercise. Many people need help, and this is why diet centers are so popular.

There are many different diet centers from which to choose. Most of them today advertise at a national level, and many of them have a celebrity spokespersons. I guess because celebrities are so high profile, the world is always watching their weight. While I don't think this is fair, I guess it can be expected.

Some of the celebrities will go through a diet centers program, and then do commercials for that company. While you may say that this is brave, you should also know that they do get paid very well for what they do.

I would guess that one of the great benefits diet centers is that everything is laid out for you. Many times people struggle with diets because they don't know what they're doing, and they have no idea where to begin. If you go to diet centers, you will find a meal plan already set up for you, as well as support, and advice about exercise routines.

Some of these diet centers even go as far as to offer prepackaged meals. If you have a hard time choosing the right meals, or you are often too busy to cook like you would like to, this might be the best option for you.

If you have been having a hard time with a diet, and it seems that no matter what you try you simply cannot get the extra pounds off, you may want to consider looking into diet centers. I wouldn't say that I endorse them, but I think there are some benefits. If anything, diet centers hold you accountable for what you do each week. You have to have your weight checked every week or every month, and talk to someone about what you're doing, so you're more likely to stay with your plan. Just remember to read the fine print before you sign up, as sometimes there are hidden costs of which you may not be aware. <bio>Ann Merier writes articles about the home and family health.Article topics include mothers day, diabetes, detox diet, yoga, pilates exercise http://losingweight.ultimatehealthinfo.com/ http://skincare.ultimatehealthinfo.com/ http://beginnersyoga.ultimatehealthinfo.com </bio>

They say that Baccarat is game that cannot be won other than a really good guess. But others say differently. The basic objective of the game is to score 9 or as close to it as you can without the banker beating you. There are two cards that are given and depending on what the two cards added together are you get to draw a third card. You can either bet on your hand, the bankers hand or a Tie. The Tie pays out more. In a game like Baccarat there is no other way to influence the cards or change the outcome. What the cards say is what they say. You can try to take a wild guess at what the cards may add up to be but it is highly unlikely that you can.

What makes the game harder is that the casino can choose to use up to 8 decks of cards. Which will mess you all up, if you were considering card counting or statistics. You would also have to consider the other players too. You would have to look at their cards and access a system where you think it will be beneficial to you. There are players who have claimed to have beta slot machines and Blackjack but trying to fix baccarat or figure it out is like trying to guess who will win Roulette. It is impossible.

With Baccarat it is the luck of the draw and with Roulette it is luck of the spinb of the ball. There are websites all over the place that say they can predict online Baccarat but if you cannot predict the cards when they are in front of you how can you predict an online card game. It is simple, you cannot predict the game of Baccarat, if you could there would be millionaires running around and casinos would add another deck of cards to foil that plot or they would increase their commission.

Baccarat is a fun game that is either hit or miss. You can't tell which way it is going to go. Some players bet on the bank because they believe like every other game it is somehow connected to the house. But instead Baccarat is favored by a very small percentage that the player has the advantage. You may be able to find smaller tables where you could place a small bet. Not all casinos are geared toward the high rollers.

They would lose money of they did. You can practice Baccarat at home with another player or just with your self and see if you have any luck perfecting a winning strategy. Try playing on a online casino you can't lose money because those sites are illegal here in the United States. Practice may make perfect and maybe not. It is all in fun anyway, you are supposed to walk into a casino and prepare to lose. At least that is what they say. <bio>Dan writes original informative articles for http://www.wagerx.com live casinos.
The most important element of a successful children's birthday party, perhaps, is the kind of games you prepare. Children pay more attention to the activities you've planned out all throughout the party than the food you prepare (this is what adults nitpick, unfortunately) so it would be prudent to spend some time thinking of interesting children's birthday party games.

You can find a lot of ideas on the Internet, or you can ask parents who have already thrown parties for their children to find out what works and what doesn't. Learning from other people's blunders will help ensure that your party goes smoothly. But, of course, no party is perfect. And it is in the boo-boos that the memories and milestones come.

Below are several children's birthday party games you might want to consider:

1) The "Who Am I" Game

When the young guests arrive, stick a picture of an object or an animal on their backs and tell them to ask each other questions that can only be answerable with "yes" or "no" to guess what was written there. Tell the players that the initial question they might want to ask the other is "Am I an object or an animal?" When the party nears the end, line the children up and have them guess what they think was taped on their backs. You can write car, cow, rabbit, horse, train, etc.

2) The "Fruit Basket" Game

Place several chairs in circle, with one less chair than there are participating children. One kid can start with "I'm grateful for=85 (example: people with blonde hair)". After he or she says that, everyone with, for instance, blonde hair should stand up and exchange seats. The child left standing will be out of the game, while the last one who had a seat will be the next one to say "I'm grateful=85"

3) The "Freeze" Game

Play some funky tunes and tell the kids to dance. They should freeze in whatever position they were in when the music is suddenly stopped. Anyone who continues to move or fails to keep a "frozen" position while the music is out is out of the game. The last child standing (or dancing) wins.

4) Charades

This game is not exclusive to children's birthday parties or to kids. In fact, even adults have fun playing this. Kids will have an easier time making guesses if you use animals or common objects to act out.

5) Guess How Many?

Bring out a jar of candies or buttons or whatever and ask the young guests to guess how many of the items there are in the jar you're holding up. The person who guesses the exact number of contents or the one closest to it wins.

Children's birthday parties are not parties without games. Aside from the good food and the other forms of entertainment and goodie bags, kids will have a lot more fun if games are included. Kids are easily pleased. You don't have to invest so much to be able to pull off fun games. In fact, you don't really have to spend at all. <bio>Low Jeremy maintains http://Child-Party.ArticlesForReprint.com.
I have a lot of fond memories of my childhood years. My family shared great times of vacationing and of enjoying our annual winter trip to the mountains for skiing. We shared every Saturday morning's breakfast together and we even liked to play games together on Friday nights. I truly loved my growing up years and I loved being a part of my family. My absolute favorite memory of childhood, however, is not a memory of my family at all, it is my memory of my favorite German sheppard dog.

I got my German sheppard as a birthday gift on my tenth birthday, so I guess you could say that the memory is in some way connected to the family who purchased Ruffy (as I named him) for me. I loved that dog. I had been asking for one ever since I was in first grade, and I guess by the time I was turning ten my parents realized that I was serious about wanting a German sheppard and that I probably wouldn't stop asking until they gave me one. So all of my childhood dreams came true the day I turned ten and came home from school to discover a brand new German sheppard puppy waiting just for me.

My four siblings were not thrilled about the birthday gift my parents had chosen. Apparently, they had each asked for an animal in the past and had never received anything more than a small tank of fish. I felt pretty good about the fact that I was the first one to receive a German sheppard for my birthday, even though I know it was only due to my nagging that my parents finally melted and agreed. I was very generous, for the most part, about sharing my German sheppard with my brothers and sisters. We spent countless hours that summer playing with Ruffy, trying to teach him new tricks, and of course teaching him when and where to go to the bathroom.

I guess my German sheppard became my best friend in a way that no one else had. I had some trouble fitting in with the other kids at school and so I quickly became attached to my German sheppard enough that it didn't matter what anyone else thought of me because I had Ruffy to go home to at the end of a long day.

Ruffy and I spent the next thirteen years getting along great. When it was time for me to head off to college, I left my German sheppard in the care of my mother, who did a fabulous job with him. I have nothing but fond memories of my German sheppard. <bio>Hallidae Thomason loved her German sheppard so much that she decided to become a veterinarian.
It might sound kind of crazy, but I absolutely love my wife's cardigans. For those who are wondering, cardigans are a certain type of sweater. From what I've seen, they are usually made from a thin fabric and have buttons all the way up the front. I've always been someone who attaches particular pieces of clothing to memories and events, so maybe that is why I really love her cardigans.

The first time I remember seeing my wife in a cardigan sweater was when I picked her up for our first date many years before she became my wife. I'll never forget how innocent and nervous she looked, and that she was wearing a navy cardigan with her skirt. She explained to me later that she had almost twenty cardigans when we met and that it took her nearly an hour to settle on wearing the navy one.

Another time I remember my wife and her cardigans was when she accompanied my family on a three week trip to Italy just before we were married. My parents invited her to go with me, my siblings and their spouses, and it made for quite a great family trip. I was at her apartment the night before we were leaving and she was having the hardest time packing her clothes. She wanted to be comfortable on our trip, yet she wanted to impress our family, and so she was trying to find the best clothes she had. I remember laughing at her and saying that her clothes didn't matter, and eventually she let me help her pick a few of her best cardigans to take along on the trip.

In the ten years I have known my wife, cardigans are the one kind of clothing that she has never gotten sick of. I've seen her replace almost every other article of clothing she owns, but when it comes to her cardigans, they just keep getting more and more piled up in her closest. Fortunately for me, I'm told, I find my wife's little obsession with cardigans to be rather funny. I guess it would drive me crazy if I didn't.

As you'll probably guess, my wife also brought a few cardigans on our honeymoon. Each time she'd pull one out to wear I'd smile. By the time we married the fact that she loved to wear cardigans was so her that I just had to smile each time she chose to wear one for dinner or anything else.

So I guess I love my wife's cardigans because of all the memories I have with her wearing them and because they are such a staple of her wardrobe. It's the small things in life that really mean something, and her cardigans mean something special to me. <bio>Triston Huntsmin is busy as an author, husband and father.
It is clear to me that NOT everyone needs a hidden camera or a surveillance camera!

Only those people who have any earthly possessions that they cherish (including children) should have one.

You do want to know what is going on when you are not there don't you? What is that smell from the last time we had a babysitter?

Or those who are married or have a significant other-they should get one too!

You do want to know what is going on when you are not there don't you. Cheating spouses is one of the fastest growing areas in the Private Investigation field. But your spouse wouldn't do that now would he/she?

And those who have a place to live: an apartment or home-well they should probably have one too.

You do want to know what is going on when you are not there don't you? You do want to make sure your stuff stays your stuff and not being fenced downtown somewhere don't you?

And those folks who happen to own a business: well I guess they ought to have one too!

You do want to know what is going on when you are not there don't you? Why do we have so many under rings and over rings on the register when I am not around? And last week our inventory seemed to just disappear? And the shoplifters they all hang out at other stores right?

Or college students or apartment dwellers who have roommates-well they might need one!

You do want to know what is going on when you are not there don't you? College students are honest aren't they? That is why they are in college. I mean your roommate wouldn't steal from you now would he?

I guess that about covers it. They are probably they only ones who need a spy camera to find out what is going on when you are not there. Did I forget someone?
This is one of the biggest problems doctors, parents and children with ADD face. How do you know your child has ADD in order to take action to prevent it? Not the easiest of questions to answer because as of now there still seems no consistent method of detecting ADD in children, however there are signs to look out for.

First and foremost, one of the most important signs to look out for is if a child gets easily distracted. Up to a certain extent we all get distracted from the tasks that we do but kids with ADD especially have a problem of caring for themselves and taking hold of responsibility for themselves. For example, if a child has school work to finish and if they don't get pushed by their parents to complete the work, they won't attend to it.

Another easy way of detecting problems with distraction that could mean a child has ADD is by observing if the child displays carelessness. Easy to spot signs of carelessness could be frequently forgetting items in school or during outings.

One method used in clinics by doctors is to test if the child can follow instructions properly. Usually children with ADD have a hard time following and keeping up with specific instructions and directions given by others.

Keep in mind that the above are not really symptoms of ADD, they are simply a few points to be aware of so if a child displays these on a frequent basis it could mean that they have ADD. There are exceptions however where kids may seem fine one day and display an array of the above behaviors other days. Doctors themselves can only guess whether a child has ADD or not through display of the above signs, then again a guess remains a guess and cannot be a hundred percent true.

Recent research done in the Brunel University in London has some researchers on a brink of unlocking a way to detect ADD in children through eye tests. This is done by having the child follow a spot of light on a computer screen for thirty seconds. The tests have been claimed to be 93% accurate in identifying kids with ADD and those who didn't suffer from the disorder.

Health professionals are hoping that such a test will succeed in identifying ADD at an early stage in a child's life in order to help prevent the disorder getting worse later on. <bio>Jason Rickard is the owner of Your Favourite Shop - http://www.yourfavouriteshop.com - Offering White Noise and Relaxation CDs - Visit Hapa Health - http://www.hapahapa.com for more articles. </bio>

If you have never tried playing the guessing game of Taboo you should immediately visit the board game selves of your local toy-store and purchase a box that hides inside numerous moments of fun and true creative spirit. I was introduced to Taboo one evening at a friend's house and since then I have been playing this extremely entertaining game with family and friends in different occasions.

Taboo is a word guessing party game that is commercially produced and distributed by Hasbro. With a few hundred cards, which contain words on both sides, taboo can transform a boring evening into a exhilarating event. The rules of the game are rather simple, but it will manage to attract the attention of even the most reluctant people in your group. With an even number of players that usually range between four to ten people, Taboo is a pastime experience that ultimately everyone wants to try. The players sit in a circle and are divided usually into two competing teams. Each time a team's player picks up a card he or she has to describe the word that is written without using in his or her description any of its related words or the ones that appear underneath the one that the other team members have to guess correctly. The object of the game is for a team to guess correctly as many words as possible in the allotted time frame. In order to ensure that the player who attempts to describe the word is not using the andquot;forbiddenandquot; words also appearing on the card, a designated member of the competing team has to sit besides the one describing so as to check constantly the card while hearing the description. For example, if the word on the top of the card was that of andquot;gameandquot; the one describing could not say any word that begins or ends with the andquot;gameandquot; element. Additionally, if under the word andquot;gameandquot; appeared words like andquot;sport, andquot; andquot;baseball, andquot; andquot;basketball, andquot; andquot;taboo, andquot; or anything else inside that category, the person conducting the description cannot use any of these words either.

But the fun part begins when the rest of the team members try to guess the word that is being described. Yelling out as many guesses as possible, in a rational or irrational order, the participants enjoy a game that gives them the opportunity to rely on past common experiences and win as many cards as possible. Once the giver manages to describe the word for the others to guess it correctly, it is important to move quickly to the new one so as to give his or her team the chance of gaining one more card up until their allocated time is over. When time runs out, the one holding the cards gives his or her turn to the opponent that is going to begin describing the word that is picked up by chance to the other team's members. Every team playing receives one point for each correct guess, which corresponds to one card, and one penalty point if the andquot;tabooandquot; or andquot;forbiddenandquot; word is mistakenly spoken. Of course, those that usually are game cheaters should reconsider their gaming theories, since an extra penalty point is given to someone who after describing a word on a card attempts to pass on more than that card to the team; if they have guessed it correctly.

Taboo is an entertainment in itself and its only weakness, at least in my opinion, is that it needs at least four people before you can begin having some andquot;Tabooandquot; fun! <bio>Kadence Buchanan writes articles for http://everythingaboutgames.net/ - In addition, Kadence also writes articles for http://familyinformationsource.com/ and http://thetravelinglifestyle.com/ </bio>

Planning a birthday party for your preschooler? Party games are a great way to keep young children entertained and engaged in the party. Make sure every child gets a prize of some kind so child every goes home a winner!

Bean in Your Shoe

One player goes out of the room. A dried bean is given to one of the players to put in his or her shoe. Play some music and have all the players dance, each child pretending to have a bean in their shoe. The player that left the room comes back and tries to guess who has the bean in their shoe. If they guess right, the person with the bean in their shoe gets to guess next. If they guess wrong, they get to leave the room again and try again. If they guess wrong a second time, they get to choose who gets to leave the room next.

Hot and Cold

Have the players hide an object while one player leaves the room. When the object has been hidden, the player that left returns to the room and guesses where the object has been hidden. This player must move around one step at a time while the other players call out "Warm!" or "Cold!" or "Colder!" or "Warmer!" or "Boiling!" until the player finds the object. The closer they get, the "warmer" they are. The further away they get, the "colder" they are.

Lucky Number

Give each child five buttons. The players go from player to player, exchanging buttons with each other. They can give away as many or few as they want, but they cannot refuse buttons from other players. After approximately 2 minutes the leader calls "Stop!" The leader then calls out a "lucky number" between one and twenty. Whoever has that number of buttons wins.

Cat and Rat

This game is best for 10 or more players. The players hold hands in a circle. One player is the rat on the inside of the circle, and one player is the cat on the outside of the circle. The cat tries to break through the circle to get to the rat. The players in the circle try to prevent the cat from getting to the rat. When the cat succeeds in breaking through the circle, the players the cat broke between are the next cat and rat.

Balloon Race

Give each child a self-addressed postcard. Have the children dictate to an adult notes to write on their postcard that state they are having a contest to see whose balloon travels the farthest. Also ask that the location, date, and time that the balloon is found be written on the postcard by the person who finds the balloon and that the person drop the postcard in the mail. Place the postcards in ziploc bags and attach them to the balloons. Set a date for when the contest ends, and launch the balloons!

Farm Animals

Secretly give the name of a farm animal to each player. The leader yells "Go!" and each player acts out their animal at the same time. At the end of 2 minutes, each player calls out as many of the animal names as they can remember. The player that remembers the most animal names correctly wins the game.

Dog Bone

All players are seated in a group. One player is selected to be the dog. The dog sits with his back to the rest of the players. A bone (eraser, ball, or some other object) is placed on the floor behind the dog's back. One at a time, each player tries to sneak up behind the dog and steal his bone. If the dog hears a sound from the player trying to sneak up behind him, he "barks" and the other player returns to their seat. If someone is successful in stealing the bone, that player returns to their seat and hides the bone. All of the players then say, "Dog, Dog, where's your bone?" The dog has three chances to guess who stole his bone. The person who stole the bone gets to be dog next.

Break the Balloon

Each child receives a balloon. The first child to blow up their balloon and pop it wins (show the children how to tie the balloons before the game begins).

Blind Man's Bluff

Choose one child to be blindfolded. Let the child wander around the room until they touch another child. The blindfolded child tries to guess who they have touched. If they are correct, the other child gets to blindfolded next. If they are wrong, they get to be blindfolded one more time. If they are wrong a second time, they get to choose who gets to be blindfolded next.

Penny Dropping

Give each player 5 pennies. Place a jar on the floor behind a chair. Have the players take turns kneeling on the chair and trying to drop their pennies into the jar. Their hand should not go lower than the top of the back of the chair. Whoever gets the most pennies in the jar wins the game. <bio>Rachel Paxton is a freelance writer and mom.
In order to make a woman see you as a confident man, you need to develop fast, authoritative decision making ability.

Here's a great example of a conversation that demonstrates a complete lack of decision making power (does any of this look familiar?):

Her: "What do you want to do tonight?" Him: "I don't know. What do you want to do tonight?" Her: "I don't really care, it's up to you" Him: "I'm up for whatever" Her: "You want to go out to eat?" Him: "Yeah I guess. I ate something before but we could go eat if you want" Her: "Well it's stupid to go eat if you're not hungry" Him "Yeah, I guess your right." Her: "Well, were you in the mood to go to the movies?" Him: Okay, what's playing? Her: "Not sure"

Now what she's really trying to say is, "Be a man damnit!!!! Make a decision - ANY decision. Just make one!" You need to make decisions quickly and stick to them. Even if you make the WRONG decision it's better than making NO decision. The great thing about decisions is that they get easier to make, the more you make them. If you have a hard time making decisions, it's because you have wimpy decision making muscles. The more you make decisions, the bigger and stronger these muscles get.

Go out and practice making decisions. Start with small ones. You'll see what an empowering feeling it is to make decisions with authority and stick to them. We live in a free country. You have the right to make decisions about everything. This is a beautiful thing! Women search for guys who can make decisions quickly and easily. They love it. They love to be guided. I don't care if it's not politically correct to say - it's the truth. Women love when a man makes decisions for them. <bio>Get free dating tips from Spencer Michaels at http://www.datingwar.com You can also check out Spencer Michaels' latest course: Mind Control Her: Pick Up Women Using Mind Reading Techniques at http://www.mindcontrolher.com </bio>

When the internet became the main source for information in the world, there have been those that have sought to gain illegal profit from such things. This is the way of the world and people all over the world are now the target of the many computer hackers that are around. Unlike the bulk of people who are living in the virtual world, these hackers seek to gain access to the personal and private information that one has stored on their computer.

With this information they will work to steal money, and the identity of the person. This is all done without having to leave the home and can be performed with a vast knowledge of how computers work. Many people believe that this sort of crime will never happen to them and that is not the case. The hackers of the world are very clever and work to make sure that they have access to the entire bulk of information on the internet and ways to use that information to their benefit.

The most common form of hacking is the password grabber. With this form you get a program that works to guess the password that you have set up on the many protected areas of the web. Lets say that you do all of your banking online and your bank protects your account by way of a username and password. The hackers will gain access to the user name in one way or another, most often by an intercepted email over a server that is not encrypted. With that they can then put into operation a password program that will guess hundreds of different combinations every hour until the machine has discovered the password.

They will then gain access to your bank and promptly drain it. The best way to protect yourself against such theft is to make sure that you use a password that is not specific to you, such as your birthday, and also make sure that it contains numbers along with the letters. The password software will not be able to gain access because it can only guess either letters or numbers, not a combination of both because the choices are way too vast to compute.

The other most common form of hacking is the direct email scam. These are often times referred to as spoof emails. The email will come in looking very official and proper from a company that you have an account with. Then the email will most likely tell you that your account has been suspended and you need to login to correct the problem. It will instruct you to click on a link to login and will take you to a page that looks exactly like the actual company page. Once you login you have given the hacker all of your account information.

The way to protect yourself in this case is to make sure that you are getting the email from the company. Most often you will find that these companies will never ask you to follow a link to login and they will never ask for your information in an email or other communication. Forward the emails to the company so they can start to track the problem and maybe shut the hackers down before someone falls victim. <bio>Read more Computer related articles at: http://www.computers-mag.com </bio>

Dressing for the Hunt

Much of the crossbow hunter's success in the field begins with the correct clothing. For example, if you are hunting whitetail deer you want to dress for the cold. Wear layered clothing. Begin with underwear that will wick moisture away from your body. This should be followed with a fleece layer that will keep you warm. Finally your outer camouflaged layer should be wind-proof and made of thinsulate. Be sure to try out your camo before purchasing, as some brands are too noisy when you move and should not be used for hunting.

Be sure to examine where all the snaps, zippers and buttons are on your outer clothing layer. If there are any metallic or wooden pieces on your chest or shoulder that might click when you hoist your crossbow to take aim this could end your hunting day.

Finally you want to choose both footwear and gloves that are designed to protect against frostbite. Make sure your boots are sturdy and made for hiking. Don't forget to break your boots in before taking on that long hike or all you may bag is a bunch of blisters.

When choosing gloves be sure they do not make too much noise when rubbed together. Any abnormal sound in the woods will send those deer running away from you.

Oh yeah...don't forget a hat. A simple baseball cap should be enough to keep you warm.

The Proper Equipment

It is only natural when you first begin crossbow hunting to want the biggest and best crossbow. However, don't purchase more than you can handle. Cocking a crossbow can be a very strenuous act. Before purchasing the bow consider what you will be using it for. Most hunting shots are made at less than 25 yards. Any arrow shot at this distance is going to penetrate the target regardless of the size of the game. So instead of struggling painfully trying to get your crossbow cocked, find one that suits your strength and physique as well as your hunting needs.

Prepping Your Skills and Equipment for Hunting Season

As summer rolls in it is a good time to start thinking about hunting season. One of the biggest causes of a missed target is misjudging the distance of the target and the trajectory of the projectile. It is a very helpful to start honing these skills well before you start hunting.

Distance

Grab you laser rangefinder and take a walk in the woods. Pick a tree or rock or some other object and try to guess its distance. Verify your guess with the rangefinder.

Repeat this exercise a few times a week. You will get better and better at determining distance.

Trajectory

It is also a good idea to get to know your crossbow trajectory. If you have a scope that marks off trajectory in ten-yard intervals then you are all set. Just guess and shoot. If you do not have this accessory you will have to guess the holdover at different distances. It is a good idea to simply write them on a card and attach the card to your crossbow.
On a recent Princess cruise my wife and I decided to go to the art auctions since this particular trip had a lot of sea days. We were introduced to Alexandra Nechita pieces, both originals and numbered reproductions. We watched several videos about her in our cabin. At first we were quite taken in by the whole story and her Picasso-style paintings. But by the end of the trip I was soooo over her, and wondering if the whole thing is a sham.

I guess that would naturally lead to the question of whether Picasso himself was a sham. I mean this style of artwork reminds me of LSD-induced hallucinations while staring at a colorful carpet. It's that imagery from the mind's third eye captured in a still shot, and I guess that's why it's considered genius. But is it really any good, or is it only good because everybody else says it's good?

It isn't really fair to compare Picasso to Nechita. I have been to the Picasso museum in Barcelona and it takes you through the periods of his life. The man was a brilliant portrait and landscape painter much of his career. He developed the abstract style which he is so popular for slowly over the course of years. It was the final segment of his legacy, but is what he became famous for. So he was actually a well-rounded painter.

Nechita started off by painting that style. I mean, right out the gate like when she was five years old. They called her a child prodigy, a genius. She didn't even see Picasso's work until after she started having shows of her own work. It's said that the first time she saw his paintings she tugged on her mother's dress and said "Mommy look! That man paints like I do!"

Cute story, yes. And the paintings do have a uniform quality with good use of colors. But are they worth tens of thousands of dollars? Are they really pleasant to look at? Or do the people who buy them just collect paintings because certain artists are trendy? Are her paintings the emperor's new clothes? Do those crazy half-cocked images with heads sticking out of shoeboxes and kindergarten-like hands constitute quality art any more than your kid's crayon drawings on the refrigerator? I guess the answer is in your own eyes. Providing, of course, you have the ability to use them in an unbiased and purely observational manner.

By the way if you are interested in collecting art and buying it right, you can't do better than on those Princess cruises. The exact same pieces are going to cost hundreds, thousands, even tens of thousands more from land-based galleries. That doesn't mean the land-based galleries are ripping you off -- they have high overhead and are in the art business. Princess buys in huge volume for their large fleet of ships and is in the cruising business, so there is no real overhead to have to justify. Just a parting tip.<bio>For more social commentary please visit http://www.stupidityinsociety.com</bio>

Cash Flow Projections, also called Pro Forma's, predict the income and expenses for your business in the future. Expenses are probably pretty straightforward, based upon historical expenses and the projects and marketing campaigns you plan to run in the future. The struggle for most small business owners is in predicting income -- but with these tools, you should be able to create projections that will be useful to your business.

Your cash flow projections should be made on a month to month basis, but you may also want to prepare quarter-by-quarter reports. I find for my business, the month-to-month income and expenses fluctuate greatly, but quarterly, trends are obvious.

1. Expenses

First, get expenses out of your way. Using both your historical expense figures and your business and marketing plan (specifying expenses for the future), determine your average monthly overhead, and how that overhead is spread out over months. For example, some overhead is the same from month to month, like your internet access bill, your virtual assistant retainer, or your rent. Even overhead that fluctuates from month to month, like long distance and office supplies, has a monthly average.

Other overhead only occurs occasionally, like your Holiday card mailing, trade shows, and insurance bills. For those expenses, record when the payments will become due in a particular month, since you will need to set aside funds ahead of time to pay for those larger-than-normal bills. You may want to set aside money for these bills every month in a separate account, so when the bill arrives you already have the cash on hand. For instance, if you have a $2000 once-a-year payment, set aside $166.67 each month in your business savings account to pay the bill.

Once you have your expense reports done you can determine your true monthly overhead, factoring in the monthly amount that needs to be set aside to pay for occasional expenses. This is your break-even point -- if your business is still young and not yet profitable, this may be what you are shooting for each month, at a minimum.

2. Income

Now you must attempt to predict your income. Yes, your business may be brand new or you are launching a new product with no historical data. But you can still make an educated guess. Big corporations always do pro forma's when launching a new business or a new product, based upon historical data of their business and other similar businesses, their business and marketing plan, and, frankly, educated guess. You can do this too.

Review your marketing and sales funnel or your sales process. If you get a certain number of visitors to your website or store, place a certain number of phone calls, or schedule a certain number of free consultations, what is the typical percentage of those people who convert to be on your list, or convert to buy your product or service? How much is the average sale? How long does it usually take to get the money? If you are not sure, make an educated guess, based upon what is typical in your industry. Guessing is okay, because you will be testing and refining your guesses each week at your weekly Money Meeting.

Based upon how many visitors or calls or meetings you are having this week, how many of those usually convert, and how long it usually takes to get the money, you can then make an educated guess on how much income you will have next week, next month, and next quarter.

Similarly, based upon your marketing and promotion plans, how many visitors or calls or meetings do you predict you will have next week or next month, resulting in sales the month or two after that, etc.

You may want to create two or three scenarios -- a worst case, an average, and a best case -- especially if you do not have good historical data for your business.

3. Test Your Guess

The secret in using these educated guess numbers is that they must be adjusted constantly, based upon new information. Each week, look at your Promotion and Sales Report and your Cash Flow Projections, to see if you are on track for what you had planned. Not only can you make adjustments to your Projections based upon real information, but you can decide to increase your promotion, make more phone calls, or change your sales page on your website, when the downturn first starts to occur. By keeping on top of your data every week, you will never be surprised at the end of the month. <bio>Elizabeth Potts Weinstein CFP, attorney, financial advisor, and author of Grow Up!
If you're looking to start a work from home business, or are already self-employed, you may know that success doesn't always come easy. Many work from home entrepreneurs find that it's more difficult to discipline yourself with the many distractions that exist in your home surroundings. In this article, I'm going to provide you with a few of my secrets for successfully running a home based business. Hopefully by the time you've finished this article, you'll have some great ideas on how you can stay motivated while running your business from the house.

The first thing that I learned many years ago when I started to work from home, was that television isn't necessarily my best friend. For me, the TV is a huge distraction and when I was first starting out, I would waste hours each day watching television shows when I honestly should have been building my business.

So what did I do? I ran a little experiment...

For one year, I unsubscribed from cable TV. Oh, the horror! But guess what happened? My income in that one year period of time was up 112% over the previous year. I was making more than twice what I earned when I was a cable TV subscriber! So, as you probably can guess... I still don't have cable.

Another thing that really boosted my income was having a space in the house that was dedicated to my business. Having a "real" home office really allowed me to improve my focus and get more done during the day. Highly recommended, and you can also deduct that space at tax time.

Hopefully these few ideas will prove to be beneficial to you and your home based business success. As a self-employed entrepreneur, you're in complete control of your own destiny and it's up to you to discipline yourself and make the most of the time you have to devote to your business. <bio>Discover how a lazy surf bum cracked the $100K a month code with The Reverse Funnel System, visit http://www.ReverseFunnelExplained.com today.
When I started online, I was a very avid tester of everything... including what I now consider goofy things. Because of that, I know all kinds of goofy things... and a few useful things. I happen to know that a link that says "Don't Click" will get more clicks than a link that says "Click Here". That's not very useful for marketing because it's not the clicks that count... it's the sales.

I also happen to know that a white background is the most profitable from split tests. Yep; I really did test every other color of background (32 variations of different colors including pink and purple). Now that is useful information. However, doing that test probably cost me $20,000 in lost sales. I've done many, many, many other "goofy tests" that have cost me a ton of money.

Why was that a goofy test? Because it's very easy to do a statistical analysis of other people's sites to get that answer. You don't need my expertise or a large dataset to get that answer. It's extremely obvious. Go to the top 20 most profitable sites on the 'net. What color of background do they use? Now go lower in the list to get a control. Do you see that a few of the lesser profitable sites on the 'net are doing what I did... a goofy test. They are testing something very, very basic that has already been testing by literally millions of others. The answer is known.

Think about the process of split testing as "zeroing in" on the most profitable sales page. Do you remember that game "higher and lower" you played as a kid? It went like this. Someone picked a number between 1 and 100 and didn't tell anyone. Then someone guessed a number. The answer would be "higher" or "lower". Amazingly older kids would guess the number reliably in 6 guesses. Younger kids would take dozens of guesses.

What did the older kids know? They had a strategy. In fact, the most efficient strategy is obvious to the older kids and they would always use it... that is until they realized that it wasn't even a game anymore because the most efficient strategy was known. The older kids would first guess the number 50. If the answer was "lower", they would guess 25. If the answer was higher, they would guess 75. They would continue to split for up to 6 guesses and they would have the answer... guaranteed!

Split testing is the exact same process. However the number is between 1 and nearly infinity. If we just randomly do split tests, we will be like the younger kids who first guessed 17 and then guessed 77 and even sometimes guessed numbers that had already been ruled out with prior "higher"/"lower" answers.

Here is the best way I have found to optimize a sales letter using the "older kids" strategy.

1. Do a statistical analysis of profitable and unprofitable sites for the general layout, color, items of content (ie: headlines, testimonials, guarantees, etc), font and other such general items. I have already done a lot of these and you can get the answers with the Statistical Copywriting course. Don't test known unprofitable things (like bonuses). That's goofy.

2. Do the same for the words and symbols used on profitable and unprofitable sales pages. I've already done this with Glyphius. Use it. Don't test low scoring stuff. That's goofy.

3. Now that you have a sales letter that contains the profitable items (guarantee, testimonial, headline, etc) and it is arranged like profitable sales letters (white background, a profitable font, a profitable headline color, etc), THEN... AND ONLY THEN... start your split testing to make it more profitable for your particular product.

Don't test any goofy stuff. You really don't have a need to test the wingdings font, a purple background and yellow text. That's just goofy and you'll lose sales if you do it. We already have that data. It's known. It's not profitable. It's goofy to test it again yourself.

Instead start with the Statistical Copywriting copywriting course. Optimize all of the words in your copy with Glyphius. Then start with split tests on the truly unknown stuff that can actually improve your sales. <bio>James D. Brausch is an avid split tester and an analyzer of other people's profitable sites to avoid split testing goofy things. You can find his course here: http://www.StatisticalCopywriting.com </bio>

Last night I met with my Wednesday night running group. During the run our conversation turned to the subject of drinking pop. A general consensus was many people drink soda as their only source of fluid. I found that really ironic, with all the commercials about bottled water. Everywhere I go I see bottled water. I thought that everyone drank water. But then again I am not everyone.

I was told that people think that it is ok to just drink pop because; there is water in soda pop. Well yes there is water, I must agree. What about carbonated water and sugar that are also added to soda. I just don't believe that soda is as good for you as drinking water. What did they do before the invention of soda pop? Those poor cavemen only had water to drink.

Is it the sugar in pop that causes an addiction? I think that there is a comforting good feeling when people drink soda. Like having a treat with every time that a drink is taken.

I wonder if it's the super sizing of all the fast food restaurants that have helped people become so addicted to pop. Or all the free refills that eating establishment's offer.

Then I was told that people do not like the taste of water. This I can understand because I add lemon to the water that I drink a lot of the time. Does this make me just like a soda pop consumer?

I guess the whole point of all this ranting is that I was totally shocked to watch someone drink about a gallon of pop when eating supper. This same person describing in great detail to me how they wanted to be a great runner. The only thing that needed to be changed was to eat better. I found that so amazing. I guess that does not make anyone's dream any less important because they drink a lot of soda pop.

I tried to explain why water is so important to this person. After a few sentences I realized that life only teaches words do not. I wonder if this needs to happen for all those in this world who want to do things their way. <bio>Curt Shryack from Moline,IL is the author of Fatigue Nutrition and Endurance Exercise. http://www.fatiguenutrition.com http://fatiguenut-curtiss.blogspot.com/ </bio>
