It is a fact that Google is the craze right now, but keep in mind the other search engines. I recollect when it was time Yahoo was the top search engine and before that it was Altavista on top. I wonder where that has gone. It is bizarre to know that Yahoo search engine has been completely dominated by other engines. This is not the complete truth. Due to metasearch engines, the Yahoo engine is still significant. Many use this metasearch tools, such as dogpile.

If you wish your site to rank high it should be objectionable to rank high wit yahoo or any other search engine. Tools exist on the Yahoo engine to enhance the ranking of your website and if you happen to run a web based bsiness, they can be of high amount of assistance to make your ratings rise higher like a bird!

Yahoo search engine is not my personal choice when compared to Google. I have reasons for this choice.I found this site very helpful http://www.commcloset.com. Google sorts out spam and other junk in an efficient manner and provides you quality hits as compared to Yahoo search engine. Its better to avoid Yahoo search engine if you wish not to browse through a host of spam. No one has time to waste on junk. This is the reason why Google is doing better than Yahoo.

I have even heard somewhere that Yahoo search engine actually allows people to pay to increase their rating on the site. This is not advertising I am referring to. Google has them and so does every other engine, its not a big deal. You can tell by the way the ads are put up and some of them might be of help to you. But if Yahoo is the search engine of your choice then it becomes an entirely different issue.

You will have to wade your way through a whole lot of paid ads that are intelligently mixed with the valid results from the search you requested. Although other services Yahoo offers are good, for instance, Yahoo maps is the best direction service as per my opinion, yet when it comes to a search engine they are lousy at it and it is only the search engine that I am concerned about. <bio>Ron Electrick loves working with the following sites: http://www.informationinquiry.com http://www.sciencecanbefun.com </bio>

Google is the most popular search engine, with the latest studies showing that 2 in every 3 Internet users use an engine google search whenever they surf the web. That's why it's crucial for any internet-based business to get good search engine ranking on Google.

Getting higher search engine placement is very difficult--with thousands of sites competing for search engine ranking on any given topic--but not impossible.

Search engine ranking is a science, and requires a thorough understanding of the quirks of that particular crawler and the way it indexes sites.

Google tends to give a better search engine ranking to those with a thorough link system. This is because it views the link as a sign of the site's credibility and popularity--and thus awards a more prominent search engine ranking. But your link system should reflect both quantity and quality.

You achieve more successful search engine ranking if prominent and well-respected sites (with a high search engine ranking of their own) chose to link to you.

Google also puts of a lot of weight into the title of a page, the text between the HTML tags in the section of your web page. To get a good search engine ranking, that text should include your keywords.

Google also puts a lot of emphasis in keyword density when it computes search engine ranking. This means developing your content and using keyword-laden links. If you sell chocolate wedding souvenirs, a website with a link stating "chocolate wedding souvenirs" pointing at your site will give your website a higher search engine ranking than a link that says "click here."

Contrary to rumor, disabling the cache of pages won't affect your search engine ranking on Google. And unlike in other crawlers, your Google search engine ranking won't be pulled down by using dynamic pages/. Just make sure that you have a link to those pages somewhere on your site so Google can find it.

Google also indexes ALT tags on images, so to get a better search engine ranking, include ALT tags and throw in a few keywords! Google ignores META tags so don't bother optimizing this tag as it won't help your search engine ranking.

You should also download the Google Toolbar so you can see the search engine rank of every page that you visit. Just be careful because it tracks all pages you visit when it's open, so restrict its use when you want to check a particular search engine ranking. <bio>To learn more about how to claim $50 in FREE Advertising, plus easily earn Pay-Per-Click money to promote your Web site(s), go to http://www.bigdaddypays.com/payperclick Steve pavis tries to be at the cutting edge of new concepts that are profitable for the small to medium size business, who need all the help they can get.
If you've hung around in the search engine optimization industry (a.k.a. SEO industry) very long, you've probably heard the debate on ethical SEO tactics. Or, as it is often put, white hat tactics versus black hat tactics.

What exactly makes a search engine optimization tactic ethical or unethical? According to the dictionary, an ethical practice is one "conforming to accepted standards of social or professional behavior". For search engine optimization, I believe that we should get at least some of the "accepted standards" from the search engines themselves.

Some SEO experts would interject that the search engines don't want search engine optimizers to exist at all, so if we ask the search engines, all search engine optimization is unethical. That's not true, though. Google itself says that "Many SEOs provide useful services for website owners...However, a few unethical SEOs have given the industry a black eye."

So...what makes an unethical SEO? Once again, Google has an opinion on the subject: "Avoid tricks ...to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you."

Perhaps a better way to put it would be this: You've gotten a phone call from Sam, who is a Google search results quality enforcement officer. He says: "John, I see that you are ranked #1 on the keyword xyz. I want to be sure that you did this in an ethical manner. What methods did you use?" If you feel comfortable telling Google how you got top ranked, then you're probably OK.

Of course, those are only general guidelines. Read the Google and Yahoo webmaster guidelines. You'll find many specifics. You'll also find that the golden rule of of ethical search engine optimization is: "Don't do anything to trick the search engines, or to represent your pages differently to the search engines than you do your human visitors." <bio>Visit the David Williams Corporation for your Ethical Search Engine Optimization needs! http://www.davidwilliamsonline.com/ </bio>

When optimizing your website for the search engines, you really have three choices on which one to optimize for =96 Google, Yahoo, or MSN. Each search engine has certain criteria that is emphasized more and the factors that help you rank well differ from search engine to search engine.

For example, do a search for the term "sports" and you'll find that ESPN holds the top spot in Google, while Yahoo! Sports holds the top spot in Yahoo and Fox Sports holds the top spot in MSN.

Of course, then again, if you do a search for "hotels", you'll find that http://hotels.com has the top spot in all three search engines.

So what's a person to do when optimizing their websites?

My advice is to focus your attention on optimizing your website to rank well in Google. Yahoo and MSN combined don't send as much traffic as Google will if you hold the top spot. Since Google gets nearly half (about 49%) of ALL search engine traffic, it's makes sense that you'd want to focus your efforts on Google.

Also, since Google has the reputation for providing the most relevant results, Yahoo and MSN tend to always be playing catch up. So what's working well in Google will likely work for both Yahoo and MSN.

However, if you optimize for just Yahoo or MSN, you're not likely to rank as well in Google.

One thing I also like about Google is how fast they're currently updating their index. You can get a website up, get a few links, and be indexed in less than a week. Yahoo and MSN tend to be a lot slower in getting your website indexed. Also, the rankings change less often in Yahoo and MSN, which is great if you hold the top ranking, but not so great when you're trying to climb up in the rankings. With Google's frequently updating index, you get more feedback on how well your search engine optimization efforts are paying off. <bio>Gary Ruplinger is a search engine optimization expert.
Visit Google, Yahoo, MSN or one of the lesser search engines, and you get a few million results for just about any search term. Despite this impressive depth of results, most users consider only a few of the WebPages being pointed to. A lot of research indicates that most searchers exit search engine result pages to visit one of the top three results. That raises the question: What about the remaining million plus results? Are they all worthless in the labyrinth of the Internet? Or are they snared by the constraints of the algorithms that search engines use. Surely there can be better results than the ones dished out to us.

WE NEED A SEARCH-ENGINE TO SEARCH SEARCH-ENGINE RESULTS!

Based on the above premise, I set out on a mission to simplify search engine results. But, try as I might, I could not find an automated method to simplify search engine results. I think that is logical, otherwise these multi-billion dollar behemoths would have done so themselves. So, I thought: What is that one thing that I can do which the Googles and Yahoos of the world cannot do. And the quick answer was: I can use human / personal discretion in choosing search results. This would bypass the legion of search engine optimizers who keep building link popularity to rise up in search pages.

CAN HUMAN SELECTED SEARCH RESULTS BEAT ALGORITHM SELECTED SEARCH RESULTS?

Tough to say, but you can look for yourself. Compare the Google results for Hair Removal (http://www.google.com/search?hl=enandq=Hair+Removal) and my selected results for Hair Removal (http://www.human-search-engine.com/6.html). There is some overlap, but the results that I display are a result of my personal visit to the listed pages.

CONCLUSIONS

As search engines become better and faster, there is a need for a human touch to search results. In this constant struggle between spammy (scammy?) search engine optimizers and search engine engineers, the searcher can be the victim. <bio>Ajeet Khurana, a dog lover, publishes Dog Training articles at http://www.dog-obedience.net.
Every internet marketer knows that to create the most traffic potential and the most profit opportunities, you must get your website to the first page of the Google Search engine. Google is the andquot;top dogandquot; of search engine and can greatly increase you profits if you know what to do. The real question remains. How do you get top Google ranking websites?

The more search engine friendly your web pages are, the better your chances of rising to the top of the search engines. A properly optimized and search engine friendly web page can easily show up on the first page of most any search engine. This is called organic search engine traffic. But how do you make your web pages search engine friendly?

In order to get top Google ranking websites, what you need is a plan for search engine optimization, or SEO. Proper search engine optimization will result in organic search engine traffic for your website. Organic search engine traffic is what you want because it's advertising for your website that doesn't cost you a penny! One of the easiest ways to get organic search engine traffic is with a good piece of website generating software.

If you can program in multiple computer languages, you probably don't need website generating software. But, for the rest of us, website generating software can cut both the learning curve and the frustration level associated with building websites for internet marketing. So how do you cut through the hype and find a good program that will generate a properly optimized website?

A good website generating software program should meet the following criteria. It should be easy to use. It should enable you to be indexed in all the major search engines. It should properly optimize your web pages for MSN, Yahoo and Google. It should allow you to get on the first or second page of most of the search engines within 30 days or less. It should allow you to test and tweak your webpages in order to get optimal results. A really great software program will also allow you to see what your competition is doing and let you manipulate your web pages in order to get ahead of them.

There are many good website generating software programs on the market and many of them work well enough to get top ranking Google websites. Consistency and testing are the keys to making the most of your website generating software programs. Never be afraid to test your theories, you might just happen across the next big thing in internet marketing! <bio>Can you afford to have your website stuck on page 10?
You have probably heard a lot about Search Engine Optimization or the phrase like andquot;make your site search engine friendlyandquot;. But how exactly can you go about doing that?!

Here you'll discover this search engine optimisation information to be much unlike than what is presently provided on the web. I have been in your position and given by my experiences I'll tell you like it is, no ugly tactics, no hype, just direct facts so you could have your own determination about what is best for your site.

To begin with, I suggest you understand Google's FAQ and search engine guidelines. Google is the search engine market leader so you may find that most of the other search engines mimic many of their techniques. If you study how to do well in Google, you will do good in virtually all of the other second tier search engines.

To gain your site's page rank is one of the key to enhence the site position in search engines. To increase page rank Your best two options are writing articles that get published, and requesting links from vendors and other business partners. Remember to make sure the links you get into your site is for your keyword. Also link to your blogs/articles from each other to increase your network.

Another thing, if you wish to get indexed faster you can submit your RSS feed to MSN, Yahoo and Google. This works great and will save you a load of time.

The above is your first hint... while this won't increase your search engine position immediately, but it might tempt Google to spider your site on a regular basis keeping your web site listings a bit more current on Google.

Below are the best few places to submit your articles: GoArticle.com EzineArticle.com Isnare.com Contentdesk.com

Good luck andamp; Have a good marketing!! <bio>http://www.treasuryland.com - http://ddp1.com/go.php?3399-1-1658 </bio>

Internet marketers and search engine optimization specialists around the globe are in shock. Search Engine Trust, an Internet marketing company that owns a network of over 3,000 websites, has developed a SEO system that is being called the Holy Grail of search engine marketing. It is also creating a lot of controversy in the SEO community.

Search Engine Trust has developed a proprietary system that helps websites get top 10 rankings in the major search engines in record time. However, some search engine elitists are saying the Search Engine Trust network gives an unfair advantage in SEO and it should be banned by search engines.

Ed Dale, one of the world's most respected Internet marketing authorities, believes that Search Engine Trust is a very positive "white hat" SEO solution and it takes the black arts out of SEO. Ed states, "I hated search engine optimization and all the work that went into getting high search engine rankings for my websites. Then I found Search Engine Trust. I tried it and I was simply amazed by the results. The websites I promoted with Search Engine Trust received top 10 search engine rankings within about a month. All I can say is that if you are frustrated by bad rankings in the search engines and a lack of traffic to your website, Search Engine Trust is the answer to your prayers."

Peter Geisheker, a marketing consultant and search engine optimization specialist states, "I have to admit that I was extremely skeptical of Search Engine Trust when I joined. I thought it was going to be another over-hyped SEO tool that would end-up being worthless and a waste of my time and money. However, being a risk taker I decided to go against my better judgment and try it. After only being a member of the network for two weeks, my website jumped from being ranked #17 on Google to being ranked #5 on Google for an extremely competitive search term. To make sure this wasn't a fluke, I tried it again with another website. In a span of only 8 days, that website went from being ranked #35 on Google to being ranked #8 on Google. I have found no other SEO system that even begins to compare with the results I have received from Search Engine Trust. I highly recommend it to any Internet marketer or business owner who is serious about getting top 10 search engine rankings, especially on Google."

For more information on Search Engine Trust, please http://www.getsearchenginetrust.com <bio>Peter Geisheker is the CEO of The Geisheker Group Marketing Firm.
After reading a couple of recent articles, some directly saying that Google hates SEO's and others being more stealthy in their aspersions, the question has to be asked. Does Google really hate SEO's?

Well in this authors humble opinion, No! Google does not hate SEO's, or at least search engine optimisation performed by ethical SEO companies - what would be the point?

Sure make life difficult for people trying to manipulate the search engine results, but in terms of hating an industry, I would have to draw the line short of that (although perhaps some of our less industrious spam-friendly friends may need their wings clipping somewhat).

To be brutally honest, I can see no reason for Google, or any other search engine, to hate SEO's. Search engine optimisation, I would suggest, is one of the key reasons why search engines have become as effective as they currently are in refining their results.

We search engine marketeers, at the end of the day, want our campaigns to work and rely heavily on a ROI focussed service. For this reason, all aspects of the marketing mix have to be working in synergy, so relevance and targeting are fundamental aspects of all our campaigns. Essentially, this is what Google wants - good quality, relevant results.

Google have also provided a wealth of tools, aimed at providing marketeers and potential marketeers with sufficient information to promote their sites - whether it be guidelines, webmaster tools, API access or blogs. Surely such activity is a clear indication of support and not a case of trying to minimise the effect of would be search engine marketeers.

Above all, most search engine marketing agencies don't just offer SEO, they offer paid search (PPC) as well. Surely if the search engines annoy these agencies by attacking SEO, they run the risk of affecting paid search spend. Google, Yahoo and MSN work very closely with agencies as regards their paid search campaigns, so it is logical to assume that to alienate the SEO activity of an agency would surely impact on paid search as well. Too much of a financial risk I would have thought!

Ultimately, the question "Does Google really hate SEO's?" boils down to one key factor. What commercial benefits could there possibly be in curtailing SEO activity? <bio>Peter Young, E-Gain New Media Ltd [http://www.e-gain.co.uk/].
I am an avid user of a variety of applications ranging from simple web browsers to music programs to the most sophisticated of games and applets. Apart from web browser I use and the operating system, the application is like and utilize the most is the Google Toolbar. It may sound weird, but Google Toolbar is surely one of the most helpful software for me.

Initially when I started with the web, the search engines were very inefficient. There was a fierce competition among search engines to be the best. Some focused on finding more number of pages while others looked for relevant results. Very often the same search on three different search engines would yield three different results.

Google then came into the market. Few years after this Google became the most popular and reliable search engine in the entire web world. The reason ease that it gives results that are very relevant to your search. Google took full advantage of their position and diversified. Currently, Google can be used to browse and search full-text books, images, videos, songs and even your own hard disk and desktop!

One generally has to navigate the Google's home page every time a search is performed using the Google search engine. Here is a great technical page http://www.techiehut.com. With Google Toolbar, you can bypass the Google home page and yet be able to perform the searches. Just download and install the Google Toolbar and you will see it integrated with your browser appearing just below address bar. Go and type the keyword you are searching and hit Enter. You will have the results displayed directly.

With the menu provided, you can search Google Images, Google Groups, Google News, Froogle (The shopping search engine from Google) and even the site you are currently visiting. There is even a pop-up blocker that is more effective than any of the existing ones which prevents any ads appearing and annoying you. Highlight option is another feature that can be used to highlight the search term on the page displayed. Helpful particularly if the site is a text heavy site.

Google Toolbar will do check the spellings for any text you input. You can even link to Google Maps to see any location specified on the page. An Auto Fill option will fill in advance any form with your information. And all these without any hassle or conditions, no ads popping up and ofcourse, it is 100% free. <bio>Ron works for: http://www.spideywebinfo.com http://www.commcloset.com </bio>

If you are even a casual browser on the internet, it is certain that you have noticed the prevalence of the corporation known as Google. Although their name is essentially synonymous with the search engine's ability to pull up information from the internet, Google is actually involved in a very wide variety of different things online. Most people, in the course of their daily online activities, will use two or three Google-developed and Google-controlled programs, and many will use even more. Whether you're hoping to map out a road trip or you are just looking to do some shopping online, it is impossible not to notice how prevalent Google is to our online culture.

"Googling" has become a commonly accepted verb, meaning to use the Google search engine to find something and it is easy to see why Google has become the number one search method that people employ when they are exploring the internet. Current estimates hold that the number of servers that Google has at its disposal number more than 45,000 located at twenty-five locations throughout the world. With this sort of power and search capability at their disposal and with the immense amounts of capital that they have earned from offering advertising to their audience, it is clear that Google's presence on the internet is a permanent and all encompassing one.

With the advent of Google Mail, Google has offered email to a number of people surpassing the amount of people who use Hotmail or Yahoo. This is not the only web service that Google offers; Orkut is another Google brainchild, as is AdSense. Google is well and truly on its way to becoming an essential part of the internet, if it is not already there. Google can be used to meet many of your internet needs, if not all of them. From Google Maps, which can tell you how to get where you are going to Google Translate, which can translate text to and from its original language, it is clear to see that Google has sunk deeply into the online landscape.

The real star of the show, however, is the Google search engine. This search engine was what brought the company to its original, indispensable place online and it is where much of the money that Google makes from advertising comes from. A recent survey showed that 95 percent of all traffic on the internet was conducted with the use of search engines and that out of that 95 percent, the vast majority of it was conducted through Google. Couple this with the fact that more than 50 percent of all purchases made online went through the Google search engine first, and it is easy to see how Google became an advertising giant.

Through it all, part of Google's charm is that is corporate policy is well known, that is, that Google believes that it is possible to be profitable without being evil, and that a collaborative environment is much more useful than a hierarchy. Google exists as a sign post for the internet, taking you where you want to go, while still managing to provide many of the answers to the questions that you have been asking. <bio>Ben Norman is the MD of UK search marketing company Impact Media Ltd (http://www.impactmedialtd.co.uk), specialists in Search Engine Optimisation.
If you are putting your business out there, how are you ensuring that people look at what you have to offer. Having an excellent website is just part of working with internet marketing; the other half is getting the right people there to see it! When you are thinking about the best ways to promote your site, take a look at what a Google specialist can do for you.

There are over 30,000 search engines currently in use on the internet, but 90% of all searches go through the top three Google, Yahoo and MSN. Google is at the very top of that list, and you'll find that having a website that pops up at the top of a list of natural search results is one of the best ways to get traffic to your site. One of the reasons that Google is so popular however, is because it has mechanisms in place for making sure that the search results it produces are relevant to what the searcher is looking for. The Google search engine will take things like keyword density and context into account. With all of this in mind, it is easy to see why a Google specialist might be employed to get your site to the top of the rankings!

A Google specialist help you make your site a great deal more accessible; many new sites have found that there is something about their text or their layout that makes them unattractive to search engines. When you think about the fact that 50 percent of purchases made online are preceded by a search engine query, you can see that this is a valuable source of traffic that you cannot afford to lose.

When you are looking for a Google specialist, there are few things that you should keep in mind. First take a look around for any testimonials that you find or any examples of his work. Take a look at some of his credentials; Google offers certification for competence in the use of their AdWords program, and this can tell you if your specialist is serious about what he does. Similarly, when you speak to him or her, make sure that you feel comfortable with them; this is a person who will be affecting the way that you present to the world and that is the best reason to make sure that you can trust them.

Finding a good Google specialist can help you change your company's fortune. Today, people use search engines to find everything from good toy shops to local restaurants, so make sure that when they search, they can find you! <bio>Ben Norman is a UK based Google SEO Specialist (http://www.ben-norman.co.uk), published author and specialist in organic search engine optimisation.
If you are thinking of starting your own search engine marketing company, or you are looking to use a company for your own website, it is crucially important for this company to be Google qualified. There are a number of reasons for this. First, Google is one of the most prominent search engines on the web. It is also a global leader in various forms of advertising. By being qualified through Google, a company will have the necessary foundation to earn large revenues from their clients. Most importantly, these companies will have a great deal of confidence from their customers.

A company that is Google qualified is one that has a great deal of experience. They are also able to meet the rapid changes in the market whenever they occur. In the last few years, search engine marketing has become one of the most competitive industries on the web. Due to the fierce competition, you must have up to date information on the latest advances that are occuring in the SEM industry. Google can't make changes to its structure overnight, and if a company is not ready for these changes, it will be difficult for the company to succeed. If you are looking to use the services of a Google qualified company, it is important for you to make sure they have inside experience. They should be able to show you a track record of success.

One thing you will notice about many of these companies is the high prices they charge. While the prices are not necessarily a bad thing, it is important for the company to back up their fees with real results. Too many search engine marketing companies charge large amounts of money without being able to show a track record of success. It is these companies you will want to avoid. One thing that you will also come across on the Internet are consultants. These consultants may be freelance, or they may be affiliate with a company. These consultants will essentially charge you money to show you how to use SEM to your advantage.

While some of these consultants have a great deal of experience, many do not, so it is important for you to differentiate the good from the bad. No matter which company you choose, it is important for you to make sure they have established credentials. They should be able to proof they are Google qualified, and having a fancy website is not enough. Their training and strategies should come from the leading search engine companies, and these are MSN, Google, and Yahoo. <bio>http://www.googleadwordsqualifiedcompany.com/ </bio>

A definition and description of the Google Sandbox and a discussion of the search engine optimization techniques that can lead your site to be sent there.

The Google Sandbox is a kind of virtual holding cell where websites that don't quite make the grade or that are suspected of spamming are put into a kind of purgatory. As you may or may not know, the Google spiders make two trips to your index before they index it. The first trip by a spider indexes your strengths and weaknesses and if there is a lot of weaknesses then it could take the search engine months to analyze your site. If the site seems like it spamming somehow or inethical it may not be indexed at all.

Basically when the Google Spiders index your site they also take note of how you may be trying to manipulate the search engine rankings. Two things that could definitely get you into trouble are over optimizing the web site with keywords and building too many low quality links too fast.

You should be extra careful about this if your website is new. Over optimizing is what a lot of copycat sites do to beat out the competition and the search engine spiders may note this. If you have a new site with way too many links it is automatic evidence of link farming to the Google search engines who will then penalize you for it -- i.e. send your site to the Google sandbox.

There are certain industries that are more suspect than others and that Google may have less patience with when it comes to link farming and keyword stuffing. This includes the porn, pharmaceutical, Internet, work at home business, psychic and yes, even the SEO industry. In fact if you are selling business to business products or ebooks about how to make more money using SEO then you might be a number one candidate to be sent to the Google sandbox as you are displaying obvious knowledge of "cheating the search engines" type techniques in your web content. <bio>Chris Angus is a SEO and Website Marketer, he can be contacted at: sales (at) brilliantseo.com http://www.herringshoes.co.uk http://www.chooseinsurance.co.uk http://www.oxfordpramcentre.co.uk </bio>

When it comes to a successful site, one must always keep in mind that the competition is looking for the same success. One of the best ways to keep the competition at bay is through better search engine placement. This placement on the search engine ranking boils down to being at the top, or being obscure. Are you going to be before the rivals page rank? Or are you going to be virtually invisible? The object to success with better search engine placement, is simple be on the biggest search engine possible or not be seen.

The Masses Follow Large Scale For Better Search Engine Placement

While it may be enough for some to simply have their site recognized on the web, it is those whom will not settle for mediocrity that finalize the day with their objectives met. Better search engine placement not only allows you the chance to be seen on a large-scale medium, it affords you room to stretch your legs so to speak. Truth be told, 85% of all consumers searching for goods or services will turn to a large search engine first and foremost. This is where you need to be, should you intent on meeting your target audience through better search engine placement.

Simple Measures To Obtain Better Search Engine Placement

One of the easiest ways to gain better search engine placement, would be to use properly formatted Meta tags and keyword phrases. This will allow many variations on the keywords you have chosen to draw hits to your site through the search engine. These Meta tags and keyword phrases should be used throughout your site's pages. It would also help to use doorway pages that cater to specifically selected keywords. This in a word is optimization that will net better search engine placement.

Avoiding The Mistakes That Take Away From Better Search Engine Placement

You will want to ensure that there is no Spam content on your site, should you wish to have a high ranking as the search engines do not praise this practice. Keep it simple and content rich; yet never overdo your keywords to a point that it is considered keyword stuffing. Never go with a sub par domain, as this will do nothing for better search engine placement. The same can be said for web hosting as well, you will want to search for web hosting that is search engine friendly. A large mistake made on the road to better search engine placement, is to not submit your URL to the top 10 search engines on the web. Lastly you will want to monitor and analyze logs and files, this will help you periodically improve your site thus gaining better search engine placement.

Homework Is Key To Gaining Better Search Engine Placement

Finally it must be touched upon, the importance of observing the marketplace. To obtain better search engine placement, it is best to see what is going on with the people you are competing with for business. By analyzing their success, only then can you understand what will work and what will not. Improving on your week points and re-enforcing your strong points will be a sure way to obtaining better search engine placement on a strong search engine.<bio>Discover Why 95% of all Adwords Marketers go Broke and How You can Avoid Their Mistakes. Download Google Massacre</bio>

Usability is a key term that you, as a search engine optimizer, will be hearing more of lately. In essence it means the ability of an entity to complete a function once it is started. How does this apply to SEO? Essentially if you brag that your site promises "SEO guru help" and individuals who log in there don't see any help at all but only affiliate links to other sites with gurus then Google and the other big engines may not see your site as having usability. The more technology progresses it seems the more that marketing types will now be obligated to fulfill the promises that they make with their keywords.

Google, the pioneer when it comes to developing the search engine page ranking algorithms that other search engines use, has now switched its focus to looking at how people find information and what they do when they access a document found in the Google index. Google now has ways of determining how long people look at your web pages, if they like to explore your links to both your archives and outside sites and the relevance of your documents to any keywords that you have submitted. Google also measures the amount of times your website is put into "My Favorites" in Internet Explorer. The more people that put your website into their favorites, the more Google will like your website and thus in turn push it up the Search Engine Results.

Yet another component of usability is your website's functionality. If it does not work, Google and other big sites simply may not bother to list it. As the search engine spiders are constantly crawling millions of sites it could take years for a spider to crawl your site for a second time so you need to get it right before you make your website live! <bio>Chris Angus is a SEO and website promoter, he can be contacted at sales(at)brilliantseo.com http://www.chooseinsurance.co.uk http://www.mobility-direct.co.uk http://www.everest-oxfordshire.co.uk </bio>

If you want to have a successful Internet business, you need to have a good understanding of the surfing habits of your readers--and more specifically, how they find information on a major search engine.

Studies show that 85% of users rely on major search engine to find info. The most popular major search engine is the Google search engine. When they look for information on a major search engine, they type certain key words or phrases. You need to find the phrase that will lead them to you.

Almost half of all Internet surfers type several words when they look for information on a major search engine. They have learned that with the millions of websites listed on a major search engine, using key phrases rather than words will narrow down the search of that major search engine.

For example, someone who is researching on scrapbooking on a major search engine will probably key in "scrapbooking clubs", "scrapbooking contests" or even "free scrapbooking fonts". If you want to be on the top results of the major search engine, you need to contain these key phrases.

There are many companies that can give you a list of the most popular queries made on each major search engine. However, bear in mind that you don't want to use a key phrase that is being used by several websites, as that means you will be competing with all of them for good search engine placement.

Do a little research to find out how people will look for information related to your product, and how they would post this question on a major search engine. You should also consider a key word's common misspellings (e.g. scrap booking) as even the best major search engine will see it as a separate topic.

You should also submit your site to more than one major search engine. Studies show that 77% use several major search engine to research.

Plus the different major search engine have unique techniques for indexing sites, so your ranking on one major search engine will be different from your ranking on another major search engine.
Are you looking to get your website found on Google? Then you really need to hire a Google consultant.

A Google consultant is in many ways the same as regular SEO consultant with one main difference. A Google consultant will specialise in optimising websites for Google. Optimising a website for Google is more complex than with the other search engines as their algorithm takes different factors into account when placing sites. Each of the Internet's search engines will put different amounts of weighting onto different factors. These factors can include:

- Link Quality This refers to the quality of and relevance of the website giving you the link. Also the Google Page Rank will also come into effect here as part of that websites Page Rank will be passed to your website. This helps build your websites Page Rank and help Google to determine your sites real relevance.

- Link Anchor Text This is the actual words that the hyperlink is placed in and are used by Google to determine what the website is about (website theme). This is why it is important to think about how your website is linked to and not just place the link in the "click here" text.

- META Titles These are the titles given to each of the pages on your website (they will appear in the blue bar at the top of the window).

- Keyword Weight This is the ratio of your targeted phrase among your page text. Google will expect to see a different weighting to the other search engines and it is important to use your keywords enough but not too much.

Do not make the mistake of believing that optimising a website is an across the board process as just because a website can rank well in MSN for example does not mean that it would rank well on Google.

Google accounts for approximately 80% of all the UK search engine activity meaning that 8 out of 10 people searching on the internet will be using Google to do it. With such a high proportion of the search market share ignoring Google as a marketing vertical would be business suicide.

If you are serious about you business and want your website to do better on Google then you need to consider employing the services of a specialist Google consultant. <bio>Ben Norman is a UK based Google Consultant http://www.ben-norman.co.uk, published author and specialist in organic search engine optimisation.
"Effective search engine marketing"

With millions of websites competing for attention, making a good website is not enough. You need search engine marketing or your brilliant copy and life-changing product will be ignored.

There are a number of companies that offer professional search engine marketing services. Their search engine marketing techniques, and their fees, vary. Which search engine marketing strategy is best for you?

Some search engine marketing companies offer the very basic service of submitting your site to search engines--up to 250,000, they claim. However most people only use a major search engine like Google or MSN, so this is not the most effective search engine marketing technique. Also, being listed on a search engine is not equal to being in the top 10 or 20 results. This needs to be complemented by other search engine marketing strategies.

Other companies offer search engine marketing courses, where you can learn the techniques, buy the software, and apply them yourself. This only works if you have the time, inclination, skills, or in-house staff to execute the often technical requirements of search engine marketing.

Another search engine marketing service is search engine placement. You pay a monthly fee to get high rankings on your selected search tools. The moment you stop payment, however, your ranking can fall. It is a quick, but not long-term, solution.

One of the most common search engine marketing techniques( and a fast way to loss your traffic overnight) is called "domain optimization" You are given optimized gateway pages that instantly achieve good placement than redirect users to your site ( this method will get you a ban on google ). This search engine marketing technique has proven to generate good traffic, although if not well done, can result to search engine spamming (which can lead to the blacklisting of your site).

The best search engine marketing techniques, however, are those that actually optimize your site structure and content.

By tweaking your key words, optimizing your metatags and headings, and generating interesting copy that encourages links to other sites, these search engine marketing companies give a solid foundation for ranking high on search engines.
