We all enjoy soaking or swimming in a warm crystal clear pool or hot tub yet at times keeping that sparkle can be a trying experience. Keeping your pools chemicals in the proper range is not only necessary to maintain that sparkle but also to keep your pool or hot tub safe for swimmers.

There are three basic ways to keep your pool clean and safe for swimming the traditional chlorine system, biguanide and mineral systems each are safe and effective for use in outdoor pools and hot tubs. Each system needs to be used independently of the other so which ever system you start using you must continue to use that system. You will also need to purchase the proper testing equipment for your system.

The old standard chlorine is available almost every place from your local pool supply store to Wal-Mart it is relatively cheap and easy to monitor and use. The big drawbacks of chlorine are it is harsh on your skin and can cause bathing suits and hair color to fade. Stabilized chlorine should be used in a pool or hot tub that is exposed to sunlight if your spa is inside or is not in direct sunlight non stabilized chlorine can be used.

The next type of pool sanitizers are the mineral systems these release minerals such as copper, zinc and silver into the water to keep the pool or hot tub algae and bacteria free. Generally the mineral system does use a small amount of chlorine to make sure the system is efficacious.

The third type of pool sanitizer is the "Bio" type of sanitizers such as Bioguard and BioDex. These all liquid sanitizers are very easy to use but they do require a specific testing unit and can not be used with chlorine. These sanitizers do not have the same harsh effects of chlorine and do not bleach out hair and swim suits.

Every type of pool sanitizers requires an oxidizer, the oxidizer or shock treatment removes the oils, lotions and other unwanted contaminations form the pool. Not all shock treatments are the same although monopersulfate which is an oxygen based oxidizer. Chlorine based shock treatments are also oxygen based. Chlorine shock should never be used with the Biguanide sanitizing system uses hydrogen peroxide as the main oxidizer.

No matter what type of sanitizer you use in your pool or hot tub you need to start with the basics. Make sure your Ph is between 7.4 and 7.6 this prevents corrosion and scale build up and reduces the irritation to swimmers skin and eyes. <bio>Jake Plumer is a writer for http://www.a1hottub.com. </bio>

Each year the instances of children suffering from colds, soar throat as well as high fevers grow. At times these germs and viruses can be life threatening specially for children under the age of 5. Ordinary soap just does not cut it, if you use ordinary soap germs begin to regenerate within half an hour. This is because ordinary soap does not completely eliminate the germs on your skin.

Why do many families of school aged children get colds and sicknesses within the first couple months of going back to school after summer vacation ends? It's not the change in weather, as many people like to believe, but rather it is the contact with more germs as your children are spending the majority of each day with a large group of students. Think about everything your child comes into contact with in a day at school- and how many other kids have touched those same objects! Germs are your and your kid's worst enemy. Not to mention that dirty hands will mean that whatever your child eats with his or her hands will all be contaminated with germs that will go into your stomach. So clean hands play an imperative role in your child's health. Fortunately there are measures that you can take in order to reduce and eliminate germs on your and your child's hands.

Germs are easily spread from contact, and many germs will live for hours or even days on an object. So if little Johnny is carrying germs for the common cold and uses the pencil sharpener, any child who uses the pencil sharpener after him is going to pick up some of those germs on their own hands. They are likely to get sick if their immune system isn't able to ward off those germs- or at the very least, they bring those germs back home and deposit them on anything they touch at home and it continues to spread the germs around! This is one reason why the instances of colds increase each year.

Clean hands are very important for stopping the spread of germs. Hand soap and cleansers need to not only wash away dirt and grime, but kill the germs and prevent them from spreading from one person to another.

Hand Sanitizers

Hand sanitizers contain alcohol and other agents that are known to kill certain germs that are easily transmitted. Studies have shown that families who use hand sanitizer containing 40% ethanol are 59% less likely to spread sickness to other members of their family who also use hand sanitizers than they are to spread it to people outside of the family who do not use hand sanitizer.

Keep a portable size hand sanitizer in your purse, diaper bag and car to make sure you have it whenever you may need it and soap and water is not available to use. How many times have you used a public restroom to find there is no soap to wash your hands with? Squirt a small amount of your hand sanitizer into the palm of your hand and spread all over both hands to effectively kill most germs you may have on your hands. You do not need to rinse off the sanitizer- it dries quickly and as it does, gets rid of the germs.

Antibacterial Hand Wash

While many studies have indicated that antibacterial hand wash is not as effective in killing germs as hand sanitizers, it's more likely a problem with the way we wash our hands rather than the product itself. It is important that you wash your hands regularly with soap and water, and that you lather for 30 to 50 seconds before rinsing off the hand wash. A good rule of thumb is to sing the ABC song in your head while soaping and lathering up; and finish it before rinsing. Using the right cleanser takes the guesswork out of cleaning.<bio>Debrah Dragon is a writer for Beauty Items, a website about everything beauty-related - beauty tips, beauty salons in Seattle, beauty supplies, etc. Debrah is also a featured author at www.ArticleKing.com</bio>

Home brewing beer can be very exciting and at the same very challenging. Yes, home brewing beer may take time and effort but once you really get the hang of it, you will have so much fun doing it that you will not really pay much attention to how much time and effort you put into producing a few bottles of beer. Besides, the satisfaction that you get when you finally get your bottles of beer is really something.

Getting Started

When you do decide to brew your own beer, you must make sure that you get the right equipments and ingredients. For your ingredients, you will need water, malt, hops and yeast. If you like you beer to appear light and taste light, you will need to buy some light colored malt and hops with a low alpha number.

Malts and hops with high alpha number gives out stronger flavor, so avoid that one if you have no desire of producing strong beer. On the other hand, if you are interested in getting a more assertive type of beer, go for hops with higher number but use only less than 2 ounces at the beginning of the boiling process otherwise your beer will taste too bitter.

Always remember that timing and proper measurement is very important when home brewing beer. If you put in too much stuff into your concoction, you will ruin the taste of your beer.

The first thing that you will need to do when home brewing beer is to boil your malt extract for 30 minutes. Stir the liquid occasionally and then add the hop pellets 5 to 10 minutes before you finish the boiling process. Make sure that you do not over boil your liquid or else your beer will not really taste as good as it should.

When home brewing beer, it is very important to pay close attention to cleaning and sanitizing of equipments especially the ones that you use for fermenting and storing your beer. Always remember that cleaning is different from sanitizing. Just because you have washed the utensils and containers with soap and water, that doesn't mean that these things are already sanitized.

After cleaning your utensils and containers, you need to apply some bleaching or sanitizing solutions to your equipments to kill whatever bacteria that may be in them. Don't forget that bleaching agents and sanitizers often leave some odours on the equipment, so you will need to rinse the utensils and containers thoroughly. In case you don't want to use sanitizers or bleaching agents, you can sterilize your containers and utensils by boiling them for about 15 minutes. <bio>Ann Marier writes informative articles about the house and garden issues.
Keeping a spa or hot tub well maintained is essential to the health of everyone who uses it as well as to the proper running of the spa itself. Spa maintenance isn't difficult if you monitor the water, maintain water balance, sanitize, oxidize and clean the water filter.

Water balance is important for maintaining an ideal level of chemicals and alkalinity for everyone. Checking for calcium hardness, pH levels and total alkalinity are all aspects of maintaining a healthy water balance. Calcium hardness needs to be maintained between 100 to 200, total alkalinity should be between 125 to 150 and pH levels should be between 7.4 and 7.6.

The most important aspect of maintaining your spa is to make sure the water is clean and free of contaminants and prevent algae growth. To do this, you need to use a spa chemical called a `sanitizer'. There are two main sanitizers; sodium dichlor (simply called dichlor) and bromine. Dichlor is chlorine-based, relatively inexpensive, does not leave residue in the spa and dissolves easily. Bromine is purchased as tablets, is odorless and stabilizes at a higher pH level than dichlor. You should monitor the sanitization level of your spa regularly by using test strips for either the bromine or chlorine sanitizers. Sensitization and pH levels should be checked daily.

Once a week you will need to give the water an oxidation shock. This will help to balance the water and give it a crystal clear appearance. Potassium monopersulfate is an oxidizing agent which is commonly used to re-establish water balance.

The water in some areas naturally has a high concentration of minerals and metals which can affect the spa itself and corrode equipment. It is necessary to use a sequestrian agent when this happens to clean your spa shell regularly. If a stain already exists then you can use the agent along with scrubbing to clean the spa shell.

Cloudy water can also be problem. It occurs when the pH level of the water is too high. This is easy to fix, however. You can simply add sodium bisulfate to lower the pH and reduce cloudiness. Alternatively, if your pH is too low, using sodium carbonate in your spa water will increase it.

If you maintain your spa regularly and still get foamy water, it is probably because the chemicals in your spa water combine with make-up, soap, perfumes, and deodorants from bodies. This is easy to overcome by simply using a no-foam agent to dissolve and remove foam.

Once a month, you will need to clean the filter cartridge using a cartridge cleaner. The water balance should also be checked every month by taking a water sample.

General spa maintenance isn't difficult if you follow these steps and pay attention to the condition of your spa water. If you monitor your water and sanitize it regularly, your spa will remain clean and safe for you and your family to enjoy. <bio>Jake Plumer writes for http://www.a1hottub.com. </bio>

If you are looking for a unique promotional items consider promotional shower and bath items. Few people realize that they number one reason as to why businesses fail is due to lack of exposure. See it really isn't the product or service that you offer, it is whether or not people know you. It is hard to increase sales and grow your customer base if no one knows that you exist. This is why promotional items and marketing is vital to the success of your business. Taking the time and spending the money to promote your company is the only way to let your customers know that your company will deliver satisfaction.

Take a few moments and think about what you want your public image to be. Having an accurately defined public image is going to help you target the right market for your product and services. Keep in mind that there are numerous promotional items available to purchase and distribute; none quite as original as promotional shower and bath items. Promotional shower and bath items are items that each and every person can use, because everyone bathes.

While it is mostly women that would go out and buy shower and bath items, promotional shower and bath items can be given out to everyone. There are numerous items that encompass promotional bath and shower items, such as bath gel, bath beads, floral/fruity liquid soap, hand sanitizers, powders, shower caps, bath oils, body lotions, sponges. The list can on and on.

Think about it like this, when you are travelling and staying at a hotel don't you take the little samples of shampoo and conditioner? Those are promotional bath and shower items. Some are marked with the name of the hotel; others are actually a custom line that the hotel uses. Either way those companies are making there way into each and every person's lives, homes and minds and all they are, are promotional bath and shower items.

As a gift to clients, customers and employees to say thank you for your loyalty, hard work and dedication. See each and every person you know likes to be pampered. When you are pampering people it tells them that you are thinking about their happiness and what would make their life a little less stressful. This is an excellent message to send out to potential customers and current clients, the best way to send that message is with promotional bath and shower items.

Promotional shower and bath items are also wonderful employee gifts. What a better way to tell your employees that you appreciate the hard work they have put in and you want to give them a little something back. You are providing something special for them, a small but significant reward for the work they do. Everyone secretly loves promotional bath and shower items such as hand sanitizers and lotions.

When you want to make a positive impression on potential clients and show current customers and employees that they are appreciated give them something that you know they will use and enjoy, such as promotional bath and shower items.<bio>Miles Lovegrove is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of promotional Shower and Bath items and other Promotional Products at www.fluidbranding.com.
A dog owner named Ellen writes:

I have a 12 month old golden retriever. When I am at work during the day she is in an outside kennel. The kennel has a concrete floor that is slanted to allow for drainage. I live in Wisconsin and when the snow melts, drainage is an issue even though I keep the kennel shoveled out. Here is my problem: Abby has decided to always pee up on the high end of the kennel.

Therefore, there is always urine all over the kennel and she ends up with it in her fur and it stinks. Is there any way to get her to change her place and go at the end of the kennel? All other dogs I have had just did this naturally. I can't bathe her all the time as this dries her skin and she gets hot spots. I've already tried sanitizers and odor neutralizers on it to get her to use another place. She is fully house trained when she is inside.

Thanks for your help. Ellen

Dear Ellen:

It's an interesting question.

It would be impossible to train her to urinate at the back end, as you're not present to correct her when she urinates on the front end.

But here are a couple of possible solutions:

1.) There are shampoos available that allow you to bathe the dog VERY FREQUENTLY without drying the skin. You should contact a couple of groomers to see what they recommend.

2.) You can buy rubber matting from catalog companies like Fosters and Smith or RC Steele - consult the tape "Where To Buy Pet Products At Rock Bottom Prices" that came with your kit. Try tacking some sheets of plastic or other material (perhaps reflective) to the front of the kennel run. Hopefully, the dog will be psychologically deterred from urinating on it.

That's all for now, folks! Adam <bio>Adam G.
As the name suggests, the portable hot tub is a hot tub that can easily be transported. This type of tub can be broken down into three categories, and these are the hard side tubs, the fiberglass tubs that are self contained, and the blow up tubs. The hard side tub uses a sturdy side along with the liner which can be used to hold the water. The hard sides of this type of tub will generally come in parts, and this allows you to set up it fairly easily. In addition to this, it also allows the tub to be placed in an area such as the basement of a home. To get the portable tub set up properly, you would need to put the sides in position, and them connect the liner. Once you've done this, you are ready to begin using it.

The fiberglass tub is a bit larger than a standard bath tub, but it is smaller than the other tubs that I've mentioned so far. The good thing about the fiberglass tub is that it can easily be carried between most doors. It is truly portable, and as the name implies, it is made from fiberglass. The fiberglass tub is idea for those who want a tub inside their homes, but have doors which are too small to fit standard hot tubs. While this type of tub may be used on regular floods, it is first important to look up the building codes in your area, so that you can learn the weight amount that the floor can support. In most cases, this weight will be measured for each square foot.

The good thing about these tubs is that they can often be transported with ease. The biggest problem with standard tubs is that they are far too heavy to carry around, and carrying them can actually be expensive. The tubs which are portable will often be small enough that they could easily be transported on a pick up truck. The portability of hot tubs is a result of the new technology which has allowed them to be used in virtually any location. As long as you have some type of heating system, whether it is electric or gas powered, and a source of water, there is no place where these tubs can't be used. Advances in tub design have given endless possibilities for the consumer, and they are no longer as expensive as they used to be.

If you're going camping, you can now bring the tub along with you. As little as 12 years ago, this would not have been easily achievable. If you're holding a party, you can also easily set up your tub in a place where your guests can use it. However, even with these tubs, it is important for owners to pay attention to sanitization. There are many forms of bacteria that can thrive in such as wet and warm area, and owners will want to make sure the water and tub are clean at all times. Some of the agents that can be used to clean the water include chlorine, mineral sanitizers, or bromine. The energy use of the tub is another thing you will want to pay attention to. <bio>Jake Plumer writes articles for http://www.a1hottub.com </bio>

If you are online right now searching for some quality home beer brewing kits, you may be surprised at the actual options you have out there. Some people new to the hobby of home brewing are downright shocked at how common it actually is, and how many people are enjoying it as well! But if you find yourself a little overwhelmed with all the different types and models and options of home beer brewing kits, what can you do? What do you look for, and how are they different from one another?

Accessories and Other Items

Sometimes the bottom line when it comes to the difference of home beer brewing kits is the accessories they each offer. For example, most home brewing involves siphoning off your beer from the first fermenting container to the second, as there is usually sediment and other impurities that have settled at the bottom of the container. Most brewers use some type of rubber tubing to suction the beer from one fermenting container to another, but some of the better home beer brewing kits available online offer strainers that do a much better job. If you're someone that enjoys adding, or would like to try to add, fruit and other such additives to your beer, you might want to use something like a strainer to get out those pips and seeds.

Most of the better home beer brewing kits also come with bottles and sanitizers for the bottles and fermentation containers. This is a great idea, since you need to purchase these things anyway. Usually buying everything all at one time in a kit can save you a lot of money versus buying everything separately.

Many also include recipes, ingredients, packets or jars of beer yeast, and other small things that make your brewing easier and more convenient.

Size of the Home Beer Brewing Kits

Not to be crude, but sometimes size does matter. If you're very serious about your brewing hobby, you will want a larger of the home beer brewing kits that are available. Having a nice sized boiling pot and larger fermentation containers means that you can make more beer in one batch, which of course makes is much easier on you.

Equipment Versus Ingredients

Remember that some home beer brewing kits are equipment alone, and others are ingredients alone. If you already own one of these incredibly nice home beer brewing kits as far as equipment is concerned, you might want to consider some kits of ingredients. These usually work much better than trying to mix up your own ingredients - although that's certainly possible - because everything is meant to work well together, it is all measured out for you, and so on. There's no guesswork which means there is less risk of ruining a batch by trying out some new ingredients that don't quite work well together.

Remember that while you can spend a fortune on home beer brewing kits, most are very affordable and have everything you need. <bio>Mark Hester runs the Drink Up website devoted to Home Brewing.
Are you a female who is about to catch a flight? Whether you are just going to visit family, are planning to take a vacation, or you have a business meeting to attend, there is a good chance that you will be brining along beauty supplies. In fact, some of these supplies you may even want to carry with you at all times, but can you? If you weren't already aware, there are a number of different beauty supplies that are prohibited from being stored in your carryon luggage. Before you head to the airport, you are encouraged to famialrize yourself with these items at http://www.review4.info

With the recent ban on liquids, you will find that a number of your beauty supply products are automatically eliminated from being allowed in your carryon luggage. These items most commonly include liquid deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioners, hand sanitizers, and all liquid hair products. Although it may be inconvenient for you, you will also find that the majority of your makeup supplies are banned from carryon luggage bags. All of these banned items include liquid based formulas, such as liquid foundation, liquid skincare creams, liquid mascara, and liquid lip products.

Although a large number of liquid beauty supplies are prohibited from being stored in carryon luggage bags, there are a few exceptions. These liquid exceptions include prescriptions that are prescribed to you and certain eye care products. If you are wearing your contacts or have eye problems, you are allowed to carry small amounts of eye drops or saline solution with you. These items must be no larger than four ounces each.

Although a large number of beauty supplies are liquid based, there are others that are not. For instance, most nail care products, expect for nail polish or nail polish remover, are liquid free. By the way, it is important to note that both nail polish and nail polish remover are included in the, above mentioned, liquid ban. Nail care items that you can bring aboard an airplane with you, in your carryon luggage, including nail clippers, nail cuticle cutters, and nail files.

If you need to carry any other beauty products with you, it is likely that you they will focus on eye care. As previously mentioned, small amounts of saline solution and eye drops are permitted onboard an airplane, in your carryon luggage. Although you may think it is banned, you are permitted to carry eye glass repair kits with you. These kits are allowed, despite the fact they do have a small number of sharp objects in them.

Now that you know which common beauty supplies or products are allowed or are not allowed to be stored in your carryon luggage, you can pack accordingly. It is important that you keep this list in mind. If you are planning on wearing makeup, you will want to apply it before you leave and store the rest in your bags that will be checked. In the event that you try to sneak, the above mentioned, prohibited items into your bag, you may be at risk for being detained by airport security.

Although there is a chance that you may be detained by airport security or miss your flight, due to being tied up at a security checkpoint, you will find that those are the most serious consequences. In the event that you are cooperative with airport security and other airport staff, you will likely just have your banned beauty items confiscated. As a woman, you should know that many of these items do not come cheap. Therefore, instead of wasting your hard earned money, you are advised to think wisely and plan ahead. <bio>http://www.review9.info </bio>

You know how you always wipe down a thermometer with rubbing alcohol? That's to kill germs. Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol or isopropanol) and ethyl alcohol (which is the alcohol in liquor, wine, or beer) both do this well.

It was this property of alcohol that household soap manufacturers had in mind when they brought alcohol-based gel "sanitizers" onto the market a few years ago after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended them as "a suitable alternative to hand washing for health-care personnel in health-care settings." Note the "health-care setting" emphasis; that's important, because the kinds of bacteria found in hospitals are typically different from those found in your home. Hospitals are concerned about passing along infectious diseases to patients who are already sick. At home, the bacteria you're worried about are those associated with food preparation or the bathroom. What you need at home is different from what they need in hospitals. And then there's one more issue you need to think about: Some of these gels smell really good, even appetizing, to small children, and they're seriously dangerous if ingested. So unless you have someone who is very sick or old or suffers from immune limitations, alcohol-based antiseptic gels can be a problem waiting to happen.

Since the active ingredient in these gels is the alcohol, you could achieve the same effect just by splashing rubbing alcohol on your hands. But alcohol can be a serious skin irritant, so the gel makers throw in a little moisturizer to counteract the irritation. The rest of the contents are just water and fragrance.

So, do you need sanitizing gels at home? Probably not. In home and food preparation situations, research has shown that scrubbing with soap and hot water is a perfectly effective and safe alternative, and may even be better. In fact, some of the ethyl alcohol-based gels have been proven to be completely ineffective unless the level of that chemical is at least 62 percent and some don't reach that level.

Lately, though, I've become more cautious. A while back, my daughter came down with salmonella poisoning. We never figured out where it came from, but since then I've been more concerned than ever about cleaning the surfaces where we prepare food. Shaklee doesn't carry an antibacterial gel, but most surfaces can be effectively cleaned with Get Clean Basic H2. And if you feel the need for extra protection, I suggest Shaklee's Get Clean Germ Off Disinfecting Wipes. They're bleach and alcohol free, yet they kill 99.9 percent of household germs like Salmonella and E. coli. You can use them to disinfect most places where bacteria and other harmful microbes hang out: countertops, sinks, trash cans, diaper changing tables, doorknobs, faucet handles, handrails, and exterior toilet-bowl surfaces. Next time you've been playing patty-cake with a raw chicken, try them. Sure beats salmonella poisoning, I promise you.

Did you know? When we overuse antibacterial and antimicrobial soap, the germs get smart and become resistant to the chemicals we use against them.<bio>Sloan Barnett is a regular contributor to NBC's Today Show and the Green Editor for KNTV, the NBC affiliate in San Francisco.
Mold cleaning process is health hazardous. However, once molds develop in your home, you have to remove molds to maintain a healthy indoor environment. Now, this is a tricky situation. You have to arrange complete mold cleaning without getting infected.

But do not panic; this is not something unachievable. You can kill mold and avoid mold poisoning too. Safe mold removal is what you need to follow. Here I would tell you how to do that.

First of all, avoid bleach, pesticides, insecticides or sanitizers. Mold is a fungus - not an insect neither pest. To clean mildews successfully you should use laboratory made mold cleaners only. And go with natural cleaning products.

Natural mold cleaning products are not only strong at removing molds and mildews, but safe for the health of the users as well. Organic constituents do not impact your health adversely and you do not fall sick or catch infection at the end of the cleaning process.

Finally you need to take some precautions to avoid exposure. A lot of people get infected while cleaning mold as huge amount of spores and hyphal fragments are released in air when you clean. Inhaling these allergens can lead to serious health concerns.

How to avoid infection when you clean mold:

Allergen count might increase 100 times than normal during mold removal phase. So you need to be very careful. Make sure children, people with week immune system and asthma patients are not present at the spot. They can get seriously infected by breathing such impure air. If you are allergic or asthmatic never ever get involved in mold cleaning -- hire professionals to do it for you.

Cover your face with a mask, wear gloves, use sun glasses and put on full sleeve suits and trousers. Avoid skin contact with mold colonies while cleaning. You can buy biohazard protection suit to ensure complete protection.

And make sure the suit offers goggles. Eye infection, irritation of eyes, red and watery eyes are the common symptoms of mold poisoning. You need to protect your eyes from molds.

Make sure the area is well-ventilated so that air-borne allergens are carried out by air current and spore count remains low. If you are using bleach, chances are high that there will be plenty of fumes. Open opposite windows and doors so that air can flow easily in and out. You can install exhaust fan to keep air flowing too.

If you are cleaning carpet, wood or any porous material, be more careful. It is difficult to clean molds off porous substances. You can hire professional carpet cleaners and mold removers for better result. Or, use kill mold spray -- the globules of mold cleaning solution enter through the porous substances and remove molds from the places that are quite inaccessible.

If the mold infected substance can be trashed then trash it. Make sure you insulate the items properly and do not touch the infected objects by hand.

Dead mold bodies are allergen too. Inhaling dead mold fragment can also result in allergic reactions. So stay alert for few days after mold cleaning.<bio>Black mold is very dangerous and can be deadly if proper action is not taken. Find out which mold and mildew remover kill molds safely and effectively. Use natural mold cleaning products to block them and get rid of black molds forever.</bio>

People living in humid regions understand the pain of having molds in home. Black molds and mildews grow and develop in places that are moist, dark, untidy and moderately warm.

Molds obtain food from dead organic substances. As soon as they found a humid surface they grow and start collecting nutrition from adjacent organic materials.

It's not necessary for them to grow on organic materials only. They often grow on concrete walls and obtain nutrition by degrading organic particles present on the surface or by eating on any adjacent food source.

To prevent and control mold growth, you need to control moisture content inside your home. Here is a list of actions that help you arrest indoor mold growth.

Steps to control mildews and toxic black molds

1. Moisture is the main life factor; mold cannot grow, develop and reproduce in dry places. So keep your home adequately dry. Use dehumidifier to keep the moisture content low. Install Relative Humidity tracker that alerts you whenever moisture level tends to rise up.

2. Repair plumbing defects and water leakage as soon as possible. You have to keep your home and building dry -- no excess water anywhere. So take care of leaky roof, pipe leaks and plumbing problems as soon as possible.

3. Next important factor for black molds to live, grow and develop is food. Make sure your home is neat and clean all the time. If there is no matter to eat, molds won't stay for long.

4. If your home or building is extremely prone to mold attacks, use properly formulated mold cleaning products as an added solution for regular housekeeping. General cleaners and sanitizers won't be helpful for removing mold permanently.

5. Make sure molds have not found their way into the ducts of your air conditioning system or ventilator. Growth at such places is difficult to figure out and the spores spread all over the building easily with the air flow.

6. Take care of your bathroom, kitchen, basement and crawl spaces; actually take extra care of these places as they are very much susceptible to mold growth. Keep the places dry and clean.

7. Install air purifiers to filter airborne particles. That helps you eliminate floating mold spores and hyphal fragments from indoor air. The quality of air that you inhale controls the health of you and other members of your family.

8. Mold-proof, basically moisture-proof paints are available in the market. These emulsions prevent moisture condensation and mold formation on walls.

Kill mold -- Mold cleaning process

Once molds start spreading, you need to sketch your plan of action for mold cleaning and mold prevention.

Mold prevention and control process has been mentioned above. While following the instructions, conduct thorough mold cleaning process too.

Molds and mildews are not insects, nor are they pest. So instead of insecticide, pesticide, sanitizer or bleach, use mold cleaning products. Kill mold spray are easy to use and effectively kill black mold and mildews from your home and building.

If you feel lost, take help from professional mold removers of your city.<bio>Are you fighting an endless battle trying to defeat toxic black mold? Proper mildew and mold removal program kill molds and keeps them from coming back in the future.</bio>

The words "back to school" are a faint whisper in students' ears now, but in a few months, they will be a sharp screech like nails on a blackboard.

For most students, the month of August is a time for preparation. Students from elementary through high school must decide which school supplies they will need in the new year. Buying these essential supplies is a task for anyone, so why not ease the pain on parents and their wallets? It is time for your educational institution to welcome in a new era of supplies for students, show appreciation to parents and create awareness on pressing issues through providing fresh, new products that promote going back to school in 2007.

Although students are the ones who are actually going back to school, parents have a lot to plan for and must prepare for the new school year as well. Parents are just as stressed about the approaching school year as their kids. Parents may not attend class every day or take midterms, but they do shoulder some of the cost of tuition and school and living supplies.

To calm parents and let them know you and your institution understand the stresses they are experiencing, give them memorable gifts at events like "Back to School Night" and new student orientation. These events are not the same boring traditional events where parents walk around the school and end up in the gymnasium to eat stale cookies and drink purple punch. These events are perfect times to reach out to parents with simple gifts. According to Alan Dessoff in the article "Action Teams" in PTO Today, replacing open houses with more informal functions like barbecues, picnics, and ice cream socials before the school year begins will help parents become better acquainted with their student's school and the school's layout.

Another important cause to create awareness for is school violence. At times, school can be a scary place. Violence in schools is something that students have to deal with. To promote school safety and tolerance, hand out megaphones with the slogan, "Talk about your thoughts" or "Voice your opinion" with "Shout out to stop school violence" under the slogan. In the article "How Safe is Your School" in the magazine District Administration, Carol Patton writes about how to better promote school safety. When asked how to deal with school safety, Paul Houston, executive director of AASA, said that "Schools should be a place of some joy and of a sense of openness." Although these megaphones may not physically be able to protect students, the message on them can encourage students to talk about their differences rather than keep them inside.

Let's face it. College can stink...literally. After a couple months attending class and having an erratic schedule, students' dorm rooms, their clothing and at times, the actual student can begin to go a bit bad. For times such as these, why not provide students a care package at the beginning of the school year with health and beauty products, breath mints, gum, other dental hygiene products, and hand sanitizers. Another item that could be added in this pack that would come in handy is flip-flops. It is common knowledge that NO students should brave a high school or junior high locker room or public shower without protection for their feet. Specialized flip-flops with your school's name and colors will allow all students to walk without worrying about foot safety.

Through providing these products to your institution's students and parents, you are helping them start off the new school year on the right foot. <bio>Abbie Stutzer is a graduate student in the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas.
Bike, furniture, accessories, nuts and bolts, gears, automobile parts, machineries, gardening tools, steel utensils or water pipes ï rust can be found on all of them. All iron products are susceptible to corrosion if not protected accurately. Rust makes iron weak, brittle and ugly. Rusty iron is of no use.

Iron metal is widely used for both personal and commercial purposes. In plants and factories, most of the machineries are made of iron. Nuts and bolts, gears, cams, screws, chains, hammers, pliers, hinges, pins, scaffoldings and other mechanical tools are made of iron. Iron made chairs and tables are quite common in houses and offices. Pipelines for water supply and steam pipelines are also made of iron in most cases. A lot of people own iron, steel or wrought iron made antiques, artworks, showpieces, photo frames, candlestick holders, cutlery sets, dining table accessories and many other household items.

When rust forms on these items you not only lose the product but you need to arrange suitable rust treatment. And the matter does not end there. In commercial fields, rusty iron products can lead to serious loss and even fatality. Heavy weight mechanical devices become fragile and can lead to serious accidents in plants and factories.

In houses, when rust forms on household products, the items look ugly and become useless. While handling rust tools, people often suffer from bruises which may ultimately turn up to be a serious health problem.

If the iron frame of your couch rusts, the upholstery gets stained. Same thing can happen with window curtains and shower cover. Fabrics when come in contact with rusted products, they catch the stain. Rusty iron is brittle and porous; the particles easily slide to any adjacent surface. That is why clothes bordering rusted products get stained so often.

How to remove rust?

In past, people used to rub the metal surface with sandpaper, wire brush and chemicals to clean rust. The method was very much laborious. After spending long hours just scrubbing the metals only a part of it could be cleaned. The chemicals were also not good for health; inhaling those chemicals might lead to serious health problems.

Rust removal is a hectic process indeed. In commercial houses, rust cleaning may cause long down time. A small machine part gets rusty and you should call on the cleaning team to remove rust from the metallic part.

And most people do not know the side effects of ordinary rust cleaners. Even some people use normal sanitizers to clean rust. Not only these products fail to remover rust, but they damage the main product!

Chemical based cleaners are not at all good for human beings too. It is always suggested to use natural cleaning products when it comes to clean rust. They not only clean rust, but protect further possibilities of rusting on the metal. At the same time, natural cleaning products do not do any harm to the iron products. Most importantly they are safe for health.

Spray based rust cleaners are quite easy to useïjust spray the solution over the rusty surface; that's it. Organic rust cleaning agents have really made cleaning process simple!<bio>Why should you select organic rust removers to remove rust from metal?</bio>

Traveling with your kids can be a cherished experience or a horrifying nightmare. Children must always be entertained; you cannot expect them to remain quiet at all times without planning and having something resourceful to keep their minds occupied. The minds of children need to be nurtured and molded.

Always remember to bring the bare essentials when traveling. You will encounter a plethora of public restrooms that may not live up to your hygiene requirements while on the road or in the air. There is nothing like the feeling of using a public restroom and thinking of picking up a million germs upon exiting; or even settling down at a restaurant table that does not appear to be as clean as it should.

1. Portable hand sanitizers are a definite godsend! Children sometimes forget to wash their hands, especially if they are really hungry and ready for that quick snack. Packing sanitizer will eliminate a few of your worries for that eight hour drive or sixteen hour flight.

2. Baby Wipes are another blessing to the family of travelers. Be sure to bring regular and antibacterial baby wipes. Upon entering a restaurant; you may find the table may not be as clean as you would like it to be. Time to break out the hand sanitizer and baby wipes and thoroughly clean; so you can obtain some peace of mind while eating a family meal on the road. Baby wipes are great for cleaning hands, toilet seats, bathroom faucets and hand dryers, any place you know that harbor deadly germs and viruses.

3. If you are flying to your destination; be sure to choose an airline that has a children's menu. Children will love the fact that they are able to eat their favorite foods such as pizza, chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese and Chef Boyardee ravioli or lasagna! They even include stickers and coloring books to keep your child's mind occupied; making their traveling experience even more enjoyable.

4. Bringing your child's favorite toys along is a most valuable asset you can possibly think of when traveling. Be sure to pack items that will hold your child's attention such as portable art supply kits with paper, crayons, colored pencils or magic markers. Experiment with brand new toys in case they happen to become bored with the current toys they have at home. This little trick will surprise and charm them; adding many more hours of capturing and holding their attention.

5. In our wonderful age of technology, we are indeed blessed with mp3 players; Nintendo Gameboys and portable Playstations. It is wise to bring a few of their games and a possibly add a few new ones to occupy them while on the plane or in the car on that long road trip. Mp3 players hold a plethora of different tunes to occupy and break up the monotony of traveling.

6. If you have planned a road trip; it is a wise choice indeed to make a few enjoyable pit stops along the way. This allows the whole family to get out and stretch their legs for a bit; plus enjoying a new and exciting sight or activity. You may know of a nice antique store or even a children's restaurant such as Chuck E Cheese; be sure to thoroughly plan and work it into your schedule; you may find you will spend a few hours in this place.

7. Perhaps you have a long plane trip have a young infant or toddler; definitely bring a car seat; as the airlines do not supply them. You will find your trip overwhelming and tiring if you have to travel for two to sixteen hours holding an infant or toddler with little or no sleep. Also, think of the safety factor involved. Unfortunately current U.S. laws do not require children in airplanes to be placed in car seats. You do not travel in a car while holding your infant or toddler, so why would you do this on a plane?

8. Once you have landed; jetlag will most definitely set in; which is twice as bad for children as it is for adults. Be sure to supply your children with plenty of bottled water and fruit juices. Everyone may possibly be ready for a small meal and a nap. Once everyone has taken their time and rested up; it is now time to venture out and enjoy the sights.<bio>Nick Nikolis is working in Atlantica Hotels and Resorts as It manager and operates Olive Garden Houses in Rhodos Greece.
