Nestled along San Francisco Bay, the Bay Area boasts of one of the finest natural harbor in the world, which has a total area of around 450 square miles. Home to almost 8 million people, the San Francisco Bay Area provides the only real break in the coastal mountains of California making it one of the most ideal spot for living within the state. It is divided into 6 sub-regions (North Bay, San Francisco, East Bay, Peninsula, South Bay, and Santa Cruz) and composed of 10 counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, and Sonoma).

North Bay is a sub-region north of the Golden Gate Bridge, is separated by water from the rest of the Bay Area. It has numerous affluent communities and is probably the least urbanized among the 6 sub-regions. North Bay has many undeveloped parks, farmlands, and plantations. One popular location is Napa Valley, which is well-known for the world class red wines produced from its vineyards.

The City and County of San Francisco was once the largest city, in terms of population in the whole Bay Area. Although it no longer holds that distinction, it remains as the traditional, cultural, financial, and urban center of the region. The most famous landmark in this area is the Golden Gate Bridge, which spans the Golden Gate Strait, a water passage connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The bridge connects the city/county of San Francisco with Marin County in the North Bay.

The East Bay area is split into 2 regions, the Inner East Bay and the Outer East Bay. Inner East Bay, located along the bay's coastline, is more urban, densely populated, and has a more ethnically diverse population. Old buildings in the area suggest that it is one of the oldest developed regions. Outer East Bay, on the other hand, is composed of inland valleys separated from the Inner East Bay by hills and mountains. Its development dates back to less than 60 years ago and is mostly suburban to rural.

San Francisco Peninsula (or simply Peninsula) is the area between East Bay and San Francisco. It is composed of a series of towns, small cities, and suburban communities along San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

South Bay is the sub-region where the past blends well with the present and the future. The past is typically characterized by the city of San Jose, the oldest city in California, while the present and the future could be gleaned from the products churned by Silicon Valley. In 1990, San Jose became the most populated city in the area.

Santa Cruz, although regarded by most as part of Monterey Bay Area, some agencies and records show it as a part of San Francisco Bay Area. It is sprawled along San Francisco Peninsula, Santa Cruz Mountains, and Monterey Bay.

With tourism being the region's leading industry, the Bay Area is teeming with tourist destinations and historic landmarks. It is one of the wealthiest regions in the United States. Of the 280 metropolitan areas nationwide, the Bay Area has the highest median household income with $62,024. Six of the top ten places in California with the highest per capita income could also be found in the Bay Area. These figures are a testament of the boundless opportunities available for the citizens residing in the region.

With its idyllic setting and mild climate, living in the Bay Area is an investment that you can never be wrong about. <bio>Visit the beautiful State of California http://www.stateof-california.com/popular-city/popular-city.html, California information and places to visit with the entire family or business.
Are you a business owner or a business executive who regularly finds yourself traveling to and staying in the San Francisco area? If so, where do you currently stay when on business? If you are like many other individuals who travel to San Francisco for business, you may choose to stay at a hotel or you may even choose to rent a San Francisco condo. If your first choice is renting a San Francisco condo, how you would you feel to know that you could actually own your own San Francisco condo?

When it comes to owning your own San Francisco condo, instead of staying in a traditional hotel or renting a condo, are you wondering what you should do? If you are, you are definitely not alone. There are a large number of San Francisco business travelers who wonder whether or not it is really worth it for them to purchase a San Francisco condo. Of course, you will not want to purchase a San Francisco condo if it would end up being considered a poor investment or a waste of your money. That is why it is important that you take the time to thoroughly research and examine your decision to buy a San Francisco condo for business, before actually doing so.

Perhaps, one of the most important factors that you need to take into consideration, when deciding whether or not to buy a San Francisco condo, is travel. If are a business owner or a business executive who doesn't reside in the San Francisco area, you need to examine how much you will be traveling to the area. Although this can be somewhat difficult to do, you will want to estimate. In addition to knowing how many trips you think that you would take in the coming years, how long do you expect those trips to be? If you could see yourself taking a weeklong trip to San Francisco each month, it might be a wise investment for you to look into the purchase of a San Francisco condo. In fact, over a period of time, you may even be able to save yourself money.

Although it is advised that you only purchase a San Francisco condo if you plan on using it, it is important to remember that a condo can be used for other purposes, besides business purposes. For instance, are you in relationship or do you have children? Each year, a large number of romantic couples and family takes romantic getaways and family vacations, respectively. Should you choose to purchase a San Francisco condo, you can make sure that you get good use out of it by traveling to San Francisco whenever you have free time with your family or with your romantic partner. Although you may have spent a reasonable amount of time residing in your San Francisco condo, should you choose to buy one, there is a good chance that the experience would be relatively new and exciting for your family.

In addition to using a San Francisco condo that you bought for vacation purposes, you may also be able to make a little bit of extra money on the side, when you are not using it. It is not uncommon for condo owners, including San Francisco condo owners, to rent out their condos, when they are not using them themselves. Of course, you will want to examine any condo complex rules and restrictions before first taking this approach, but most of the time you will see that you are well within your right to rent out your San Francisco condo to others. These other individuals could include those that are traveling for business or those who are visiting the San Francisco area while on a trip or a vacation.

The decision as to whether or not you want to purchase a San Francisco condo is yours to make, but, as you can see, you should be able to get good use out of one, even if it isn't just you using it. That is why, if you haven't already done so, you will at least want to look into buying a San Francisco condo. <bio>We specialize in finding the perfect http://sf.condodomain.com/user/user_home.php at an affordable price. San Francisco, North Bay, East Bay, South Bay, Peninsula and Santa Cruz make up the Bay Area regions. They are divided into nine counties: San Francisco, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Alameda, Napa, Solano and Sonoma.

Although San Francisco City is identified as the cultural and traditional center of the Bay Area, it is not the largest or most populated city within the area. Historically, the Bay Area traces its roots from Spanish explorers who first set foot in the region and founded a Catholic church in 1776.

Bay Area is distributed over a population of nearly seven million residents (as of the latest count in 2006). People are scattered over a number of suburban and urban centers, hence, the general area name. Its generic name is derived from the various regional natures of the area, with no specific reference to a city.

Studies place the population of San Francisco Bay Area among the best in the country for overall education placement, competing with Washington D.C. and Boston. East Bay is known for being the home of famous seminaries and universities, namely Berkeley or the University of California and Stanford University.

Weather is generally agreeable but unpredictable, as bodies of water fence in the land area. Spring casts mild and cloudless days, summer is cool and overcast, and fall weather is warm, hot and sunny, with mild and clear nights, while winter brings in the most humid rainy days, alternating with clear and sunny skies.

The diverse geography is broken up into prime residential and industrial spaces, covering villages, towns and cities, parks in the national, state and regional levels, as well as airports and military bases. All these are connected by a modern and efficient transport system composed mostly of trains (commuter rail and railroads), highways and roads.

Considered as one of the most affluent regions in America, the San Francisco Bay Area boasts having the most median income per household, across the nation. Six out of the 10 best Californian areas that have the most income per capita (Belvedere, Diablo, Atherton, Woodside and Portal Valley) are all in the Bay Area. The popular Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties in Bay Area are also part of the top 100 income per capita counties in the States. As a result, the Bay Area real estate appreciated to the level of the 'most expensive zip code' league. In 2005, Forbes Magazine listed Atherton, Diablo, Ross, Nicasio, Los Altos, Tiburon, Los Gatos, Portal Valley and San Francisco as one of the top 50 most expensive places to live in. <bio>Visit http://www.johnhomesonline.com for more information about California travel. </bio>

San Francisco is famous for, among other things, that song popularized by Tony Bennett, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". Interestingly, people do sometimes leave their hearts in San Francisco--because of the active dating scene in the city.

A true melting pot, San Francisco has a hybrid culture, originating from the Asian, Latino and American roots. This would probably explain the open-mindedness of San Francisco daters. It is not uncommon and it is definitely acceptable to see people from two different backgrounds or cultures dating.

Some people have said that San Francisco differs from other cities with active dating scenes by their styles. For instance, the bars in New York are more casual compared to the San Francisco bars. It is also common for singles to go to gatherings held in museums, art galleries, and other unconventional venues for meeting potential romantic partners. But one of the trends in San Francisco nowadays is the Speed Dating.

Speed Dating is also popular in other major cities, but this type of dating is more widespread in San Francisco. There are lots of singles who are working and earning enough, and who do not have time to go to dates very often. Just think of Speed Dating as a Jobs Fair--there are many companies for graduates to apply to, many options are available, and the job interview is quick so the hiring can also be quick.

The most important thing in Speed Dating is not the "dating" itself. It really is not dating yet, because you will just talk with a member of the opposite sex for only five to seven minutes. And so what really matters is the first impression, how you come off to the person you are talking to. There are also sets of questions that a man or a woman asks the first time--such as "Where do you live?", "What are you into?", and "What is your job?" Of course, it is important to get information and to get to know the person as much as you can in such a short time.

For most San Francisco daters, it is important to have a partner who lives in the same city, or who at least lives near the area. If someone asks you the questions, "Where are you from? Where do you live?", you have to answer honestly. But if you do not live in San Francisco, then what are you doing, going to Speed Dating groups in San Francisco?

It is also a good idea to make sure that you will have something in common with the person you decide to date. Consider the tastes in food, for instance--do you have similar tastes? In San Francisco, Asian restaurants are found everywhere. Japanese restaurants are especially popular in the city. On your first date, make sure that you are knowledgeable in Japanese food, so if your date decides that you go to a Japanese restaurant, you would not get lost while trying to read the menu.

Most dating tips are probably just easy and common sense, but really, there are lots of things to think about. Because San Francisco has a reputation for romance, you really have to get serious considering what and whom you want to date. But do not spend too much time on thinking, just have fun! <bio>Ron Zvagelsky has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Childhood obesity is at alarming levels in this county. Children in the San Francisco Schools are no exception. Too much television and video games, and too little time spent playing outside has led to an epidemic of juvenile health issues. It sure doesn't help that the San Francisco Schools have had to cut funding for physical education over the years. But the 2007-2008 school year does have something positive going for it. Several San Francisco Schools will provide fresh salad bars, whole grain options, and whole fruits and vegetable in their cafeterias.

Twenty six San Francisco Schools from elementary to high school will benefit from a half a million dollar grant from the mayor's office and the Department of Children, Youth, and their families. This is a big deal. The fact that a school district has actually recognized the importance of nutrition in education is enormous. For the past few decades public education has acted as if the only aspect of learning we should worry about are test scores. The San Francisco Unified School District has been forced to slash the arts, physical education, and anything not seen to directly affect standardized tests.

How Does Nutrition Affect San Francisco Schools Students?

Teachers in the San Francisco Schools know that a child's academic success lies in several factors: home environment, proper nutrition, and a good night sleep greatly impact a student's ability to pay attention and retain information. The fast food generation currently attending the San Francisco Schools needs to be made aware of how nutrition choices will affect their health. But it's a pretty safe bet that the San Francisco Schools don't have much extra time to teach daily health classes. That's OK, what they're doing now might be even better.

Schools need to lead by example. Just think of the message that it sent to children to have soda in vending machines and options like chips, ice cream and fatty meals for lunch fare. The San Francisco Schools are setting an example that the rest of the nation needs to emulate. It's high time that schools look at the messages they are sending to our children.

What Else Can the San Francisco Schools Do?

While healthier school lunches are a huge improvement to the San Francisco Schools, the reality is that every public school district in the country is struggling to succeed. The San Francisco Schools experimented with the salad bars with pilot programs in a few of the schools last year. Hopefully more San Francisco Schools will follow this example next year. It is more costly for the San Francisco Schools to provide this fresher fare than canned vegetables and mystery meat? I'm sure it is. But the San Francisco Schools will recoup the cost in children who are more likely to pay attention (maybe less ADD diagnoses), higher test scores, children who are less fussy, and who appreciate the taste of fresh foods. <bio>Patricia Hawke is a staff writer for Schools K-12, providing free, in-depth reports on all U.S. public and private K-12 schools.
San Francisco Schools' Small Schools are Effective

The Small Schools program in San Francisco Schools was established back in 2000. One successful example of a small school is the San Francisco Schools' Leadership High School. This high school has a total of only 345 students, uses high standards and close relationship with teachers to help at risk students. Leadership High School was established about 5 years ago and now has some of the highest test scores in all of the San Francisco Schools. Mainly the idea is to take large schools, usually high schools, into several smaller schools that can focus on the students needs better.

San Francisco Schools have become a leader in a growing trend that has spread across Northern California. The idea behind breaking up large schools is an attempt to provide an alternative to the status quo. Students in a small school tend to have higher rates of graduation, higher attendance rates, and higher university attendance. The small school environment succeeds due to a more personalized learning environment. The small schools of the San Francisco Schools use a mentor system that gives guidance to that they are personally engaged in their work. Students are motivated while being connected to the school community. The National Longitudinal Study for Adolescent Health reports that students in a small school environment were less likely to use alcohol, illegal drugs, become pregnant, or experience emotional distress.

San Francisco Schools' Small Schools for Equity

The Small Schools for Equity program is an innovative partnership between San Francisco Schools and a local university. This high school has one hundred students from all of the San Francisco Schools. This high school will be housed on the university's campus and be supported by the College of Education while being managed and funded by San Francisco Schools. The students, teachers and administration will have a say in curriculum development. Students who attend the Small Schools for Equity program were chosen by San Francisco Schools' officials. The high school students will study a rigid curriculum that will include high school level math, science, English, humanities, world language, art and Japanese. No college courses will be offered.

The Small Schools for Equity program provides the College of Education with a great opportunity in teacher education. San Francisco Schools has allowed university students seeking teaching credentials to teach and observe in schools throughout the San Francisco School district for years, now the College of Education will have a high school on campus that will benefit from modern educational theory and practices. The high school will be housed in Burk Hall and run a full school day from 8AM to 3PM, the rest of the day Burk Hall will be used by education students.

San Francisco Schools Board of Education Reviews Small Schools

The San Francisco Schools Board of Education is, this summer, reviewing a policy that would support the San Francisco Schools Small Schools By Design. The policy is being introduced by San Francisco Schools Acting Superintendent Gwen Chan and is supported by school board president Norman Yee and San Francisco Organizing Project, a community organization that supports the small schools initiative. San Francisco Organizing Project is a collection of religious congregations, schools and community centers. Those opposed to the program claim that the money spent does not equal the benefits but supporters say that the Small Schools offset the difficulties of declining student enrollment and the flight of families from San Francisco Schools. The current policy up for vote would create a task force to determine the locations and needs of San Francisco Schools which would benefit most from Small Schools. <bio>Stacy Andell is a staff writer for Schools K-12, providing free, in-depth reports on all U.S. public and private K-12 schools.
San Francisco offers a wide variety of attractions for the locals, visitors and tourists. The possibility of things to do in the city seems to be endless. However, the "Top Things to do" in San Francisco involves visits at the waterfront, around town, and on the city's ocean and bay fronts.

One spectacular sight at the Waterfront of San Francisco is the "Golden Gate Bridge" the most photographed sight in the world. It stretches 4,200 feet with a towering height compared to a 65 story building. A walk at the bridge is one of the most enjoyable things to do.

Another popular sight of San Francisco's Waterfront is the Alcatraz, a former prison for the notorious criminals. The interesting part to do at this place is the self-walking guided tour through the aid of headphones that narrates the whole story of about Alcatraz.

Half a dozen blocks along the Waterfront are the Fisherman's Wharf, Pier39, and Ghirardelli Square. Simply walking along the streets, your attention will be caught by some entertaining performers. The street also has plenty of tempting souvenir shops and great seafood restaurants.

Around the town of San Francisco is Union Square -- the third largest shopping area in the United States. It is a fabulous place to shop for clothes, art works and items for your home -- but make sure that you have enough money because prices are quite expensive.

A must see attraction in San Francisco is the "Crookedest Street in the World" or simply Lombard Street. Watching the vehicles make their curves as they go down the crooked street is a great a attraction and a marvel to the eye. Others have said that it is much more interesting to experience the crooked section of the street by riding or driving a car.

San Francisco also has many places for antiques that you can visit. One of these places is the Cliff House where you can find the Camera Obscura that was invented by Leonardo Da Vinci. The Cliff House is also a very nice place for a drink because it offers excellent views of the Pacific Ocean and Seal Rock.

The place in San Francisco where there's always something to do is at North Beach. North Beach is full of activities, but most involve eating. The area has tons of cafe's, restaurants, delicatessens, and bakeries for you to choose from.

There are other plenty of things that you can do in San Francisco...the possibilities here are truly endless. <bio>Ron Zvagelsky has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Educators in the San Francisco Public Schools are frustrated by the lack of balance in education. The recent focus on mandatory testing has moved schools nationwide away from holistic education. And this can have serious consequences on children in the San Francisco Schools.

Richard Florida in The Flight of the Creative Class says, "What we really need in order to prepare our children for the creative economy is a comprehensive education. Something that takes them from aesthetics to algebra without pretending that the two are mutually exclusive." Aha!

Elliot W. Eisner, professor of education and art, Stanford University agrees. He states that "The arts are fundamental resources through which the world is viewed, meaning is created, and the mind developed." Arts education has a profound effect on students, there's no doubt about it. San Francisco Schools are finally acknowledging this, and are acting on it

In March 2004, voters, in unprecedented numbers, passed Proposition H. This proposition earmarked tens of millions of city funds for schools, including new funds for arts education. This had added further community and political support to the cause of arts education equity and access for all San Francisco Schools students.

A San Francisco Schools Steering Committee was then formed to begin work on the master plan. The steering committee, as well as others, is composed of district administrators, teachers, parents, principals, funders, city agency representatives and arts providers. They met on a regular basis until August 2005 under the direction of a project manager. The Steering Committee continues to provide guidance during the initial implementation phase of the plan and will gradually become an advisory body for the San Francisco Schools plan.

The San Francisco Schools have made an important step forward by acknowledging the role arts play in academic education. The arts engage students and honor the many different learning styles students possess. The arts are essential to understanding one's self, the community, and global culture. Through arts, students in the San Francisco Schools can acquire the skills and creativity needed to succeed later in life. San Francisco Schools leaders know that the arts encourage commitment and persistence, and they have discovered that an involvement in the arts leads to increased attendance and helps many students stay in school, all the way through 12th grade.

One San Francisco Schools elementary principal agreed, "Art gives kids something they can do well. . . .For some, this is where they start." We need to see more initiatives like this all over the country. As the San Francisco Schools are finally starting to recognize, there is a connection between art and academic education that can go a long way towards improving the state of education in this country. <bio>Patricia Hawke is a staff writer for Schools K-12, providing free, in-depth reports on all U.S. public and private K-12 schools.
One of the most famous destinations in the United States remains to be San Francisco City in California. Found on the west coast, San Francisco's territory includes a number of must-see islands, including Treasure Island and Alcatraz. San Francisco is home to over 50 hills, including Pacific Heights, Nob Hill and Twin Peaks. The climate of San Francisco is a mixture of the Mediterranean climate of California and the Pacific Ocean's cool breeze and fog.

A world-famous tourist attraction, San Francisco boasts of a seemingly unlimited number of tourist destinations. The city is divided into a variety of famous districts, including the Mission District, Marina District and the Financial District, with its famous Union Square. Other popular tourist spots include the Golden Gate Park and the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Alamo Square, Moscone Center, The Palace of Fine Arts, Coit Tower, Lincoln Park, and the original Chinatown, to name a few. The most twisted street in America, known as Lombard Street, can be found in San Francisco. The Island of Alcatraz, the former island prison, may be reached via ferry and cruises. The San Francisco Zoo will surely be enjoyed by people of all ages. Cable cars are also widely popular the world over.

The Financial District in San Francisco is the primary financial center in the entire west coast of the United States. Various companies have their headquarters there, including Wells Fargo and the Bank of America.

Various universities cater to residents of San Francisco. These include the San Francisco State University and the City College of San Francisco. The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) is another San Francisco university. It is one of the top employers in the city, focusing on jobs in the biomedical and health sectors. The university is affiliated with the UCSF Medical Center, one of the top hospitals in the country. Aside from these, San Francisco also has schools directed towards enhancing various arts, such as the San Francisco Art Institute, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the California Culinary Academy.

As one of the most densely populated cities and the 4th most populous city in the united States, San Francisco is home to huge numbers of immigrants from all over the world. Approximately 40% of San Francisco residents were born in other countries. The massive number of immigrants has supported the real estate market in San Francisco, with various neighborhoods made up of both residential and office spaces for new entries.

The Internet revolution in the early 1990s led to a rush in the real estate market in San Francisco. The value of properties continued to increase, peaking in the year 2005. Since then, there has been a gradual decline in the value of real estate in the area. With the decreasing prices of real estate and the continuing availability of jobs in the area, more so in the biotechnology and research areas, it is expected that the real estate market will experience a surge in the next few years. <bio>Seth Willis Jr. is the webmaster for http://www.calpads.com and a savvy real estate investor. One thing that is certain, you will not leave here disappointed. A true melting pot, San Francisco has a hybrid culture, originating from the Asian, Latino and American roots.

San Francisco is among the most popular nightlife spots in the United States. The city boasts everything from ballets and opera to Irish pubs, hipster hangouts, piano bars, live music, cabaret, theatres, and more.

If you are looking to conduct a little business, The Mandarin Lounge is a great spot -- offering a hotel haven for private conversation and great mixed drinks. If you're looking for something a little more romantic, the Empire Flush Room is an ideal place hosted by vocalist, pianist and cabaret performers.

Other popular places where you can enjoy the San Francisco nightlife include: The North Beach, consisting of many strip clubs and historic beatnik bars. The Bubble Room offers champagne, chocolate, caviar, biscuits with a live bluesy music. SoMa, or South of Market Area, plays host to stylish restaurants, theaters, galleries and clubs. Fisherman's Wharf is the best place for nocturnal hangouts such as the Buena Vista and Knuckles Historical Sports Bar and Grill. Financial District, Civic Center, Union Square, Marina District, Mission District, Russian District, Marin County and The Castro are all other nice place to visit and are bustling during the night.

There are plenty of other things that can be done once the sun sets over San Francisco. The bar scene is common place in San Francisco for both the locals and visitors. The city bay also offers plenty of fun in the water -- including dinner dance cruises.
San Francisco is one of the most romantic cities to visit in California. There are a number of things for couples, both young and old, to see and do in the city. In this article, we will go in depth and cover some of the best romantic spots and attractions that San Francisco has to offer. We will also take the time cover some of the area's finest restaurants.

Part 1: See the City

When anybody comes to a new city for a vacation, the first thing that they want to do is see the city and take in all the sights and sounds it has to offer. In the case of San Francisco, there are a number of world famous tourist attractions, such as the Golden Gate Bridge or the Alcatraz Prison (maybe not the most romantic spot, but a very interesting visit regardless) that you should take the time to see. A must stop location for all couples who visit the city is Fisherman's Wharf. The area is the number one travel destination for those looking to relax in a lively atmosphere filled with street music and entertainment, shopping, and casual dining. A walk along the Wharf and the various piers during sunset is one of the most romantic things you can do in the city. Also, be sure to take a ride in the cable cars that will help you get anywhere you need to go around the city quickly. These cable cars cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

When in the Bay Area, no trip is complete without taking the time to visit the Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge features a parking lot--many couples will park and take a long walk along the sidewalks. If you do plan on walking the bridge, be sure to bring a jacket as it is often colder and much windier on the bridge, than it is in the city. There are also a good number of both biking and walking tours that will take you around the city and across the Golden Gate Bridge.

Part 2: Dining

San Francisco is very well known for the number of top notch restaurants it offers. Since we can't possibly touch on all of them, we will briefly mention a few of the most popular ones. Cote Sud is a great restaurant to enjoy French cuisine and was voted the best French restaurant in the Bay Area in both 2004 and 2005. A. Sabella's Seafood and Steaks is another top restaurant in the area and is perfect for any seafood lover. A Sabella's was voted the best restaurant in Fisherman's Wharf by the San Francisco Chronicle and is a great place to go for a romantic night out.

San Francisco is a wonderful city for couples to visit and is thought by many to be one of the most romantic places on the West Coast. There is a lot to do and see, but the whole environment is laid back and the weather is just perfect all year round, so be sure to spend a lot of your time outdoors just walking through the city, resting on one of the area's many sandy beaches, or taking in the sites and sounds San Francisco has to offer. <bio>Ron Zvagelsky has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
San Francisco Giants tickets have been in demand in recent seasons, but that was mostly due to the exploits of one player as opposed to the prospects of the team winning a World Series.

Well, that player is back for an historic record chase this season, but the team around him has improved and the Giants could be in for a big season in 2007. We'll take a look at what to expect from the Giants in 2007 below, but rest assured that regardless of their results, this team will be an interesting one to watch.

Offseason Changes

The Giants made a lot of noise this offseason, and perhaps their biggest signing was their most recent, as Barry Bonds resigned for another year at $15.8 million. The team also addressed its pitching staff by adding Barry Zito with an enormous seven-year, $126 million contract in order to provide the team with an ace.

The Giants also changed managers, hiring Bruce Bochy after he enjoyed sustained success in San Diego. The San Diego-to-San Francisco pipeline continued with the signing of OF Dave Roberts, and other free agent acquisitions included IF Rich Aurilia and Ryan Klesko.

Players to Watch

Once again, the players to watch question starts and stops with Bonds. He will be responsible more than any other player for the sale of San Francisco Giants tickets, as he is only 22 home runs away from the most storied record in sports - the all-time home run record currently held by Hank Aaron. Bonds has been buried in controversy, but he's still a draw and an historic player.

Other than Bonds, the success or failure of Zito will also be quite interesting, as will the overall progress of the team under new leadership. The Giants look like they're making a big push for the title, and the ability of the team to gel will determine their results this season.

2007 Outlook

The Giants have a lot of firepower working for them both on the mound and at the plate. If they can stay healthy and maintain some consistency, they should be able to challenge in the less-than-powerful NL West. The Dodgers and Padres tied for first in the division last year with only 88 wins, so it appears that if the Giants can push towards 90 victories this season, they'll have a chance to reach the postseason. Regardless, the presence of Bonds and his chase will definitely make San Francisco Giants tickets hard to find, and will make the 2007 season an interesting one for the team and its fans. <bio>Written by Jay Nault, sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/ .
The Arts Education Master Plan

September 28 was the beginning of a new era for arts education in San Francisco schools. The San Francisco Unified School district and the City are partnering on a historic effort to bring back the arts for all students. The Arts Education Master Plan will revitalize the education of San Francisco's young citizens by capturing the diverse cultural and artistic energy of a city that is internationally renowned for its love of the arts.

At 10:30 a.m. at the San Francisco Performing Arts Library and Museum, Mayor Gavin Newsom, SFUSD's Interim Superintendent Gwen Chan, and SF Arts Commission President P.J. Johnston joined members of the Board of Supervisors and SFUSD Board of Education, arts providers from across the city and students from Lowell High School, Claire Lilienthal and George Washington Carver Academic Elementary Schools in celebration of the Arts Education Master Plan.

"This master plan is a living document that exemplifies the partnership between the City and the school district on arts education," said Mayor Newsom. "San Francisco's efforts are unprecedented - and over the next few months, we will witness 'order of magnitude' changes in the arts education that children receive," continued the Mayor.

The Arts Education Master Plan is San Francisco Unified School District's blueprint for integrating the arts into each student's daily curriculum. The Plan calls for a sequential, comprehensive arts education program that reflects the high quality of San Francisco's artistic landscape in the areas of dance, drama, music, visual arts and literary arts. The guiding principle of this plan is that all students deserve both access to and equity in arts education and each school community, no matter the neighborhood or academic emphasis, will be called upon to embrace the notion that every student must be provided with the arts as an integral part of the academic day.

Interim Superintendent Gwen Chan said "In San Francisco, we are committed to providing every student with a well-rounded education. For too many years, some students have not had opportunities to develop artistic literacy. Every school and every student will benefit from this plan."

Community Involvement

The Master Plan reflects the views of more than 1,500 students, parents, teachers, administrators, arts providers, and civic and business leaders. Proposition H approved by San Francisco voters in 2004, became the catalyst, making the Arts Education Master Plan, completed in August 2006, a funded mandate. The extensive increase in arts education spending, programming, support and resources that the Plan recommends will be funded largely by Prop H funds. Additional funding, such as the new State funding for the arts, will be aligned to the Arts Education Master Plan.

The new plan will hopefully keep San Francisco school students in touch with the vibrant artistic community around them and help them to take advantage of the many enriching opportunities for art in the classroom and beyond. San Francisco schools are ready to implement the new curriculum program at all levels to ensure a consistent and fulfilling learning experience for all students. Students, parents, and teachers at San Francisco schools are confident that the Arts Education Master Plan will mark their community as one committed to continued arts education. <bio>Stacy Andell is a staff writer for Schools K-12, providing free, in-depth reports on all U.S. public and private K-12 schools.
Looking for the right San Francisco bankruptcy attorney? This is definitely a difficult process, and most people don't even know where to start their search other than the yellow pages or the internet.

However, when you do a few simple steps before this, you can actually eliminate these two mediums altogether and instead find the right one very quickly and effortlessly.

First of all, your attorney is by far the most important element in you getting a workable deal in court, because they will have a complete knowledge of the bankruptcy process, much more so than you will. Even if you think you are fairly knowledgeable about bankruptcy laws, get a lawyer, as they are experts and there very likely will be nuances of the law that can hurt you if you are unaware of them.

Many people consider representing themselves in order to save money, but the reality is, this will cost you money down the road, and usually a pretty tidy sum.

Make sure the lawyer in San Francisco you hire is licensed to do bankruptcy court in California. The laws are very different in each state, so having one licensed specially in California can make all the difference in you getting the deal you need. When it comes to bankruptcy, knowing the laws in one state is not enough to be able to handle it in another, as they are unique.

Obviously, you want to ask them some critical questions before going with them, such as qualifications, how long they've been a lawyer, and also their success percentage as well. Many times, this info will be available on their website, and I'd recommend you only focus on those that are willing to divulge this information. As with most things in life, experience always beats head knowledge and make sure they have a lot of experience before hiring them.

Fancy degrees mean little when it comes to the real world, and you don't want to go with a lawyer fresh out of college, because while they might know the laws inside and out, having head knowledge and real life experience are two completely different things.

Since you are already under enough stress as it is, the last thing you want to do is spend a lot of time and effort looking for lawyer, so the information in this article will help you find a good one as quickly as possible.

As I generally start out recommending, the people you know are the best source to help you find the right San Francisco bankruptcy attorney, assuming you know people who've recently declared bankruptcy, as they will have dealt with a lawyer, and assuming they were satisfied with their services, you can simply hire that particular one. Search high and low for this, as this will prevent you from having to do any research on your own part.

If you don't know of anybody who's recently done this, don't be discouraged. Check with the American bar association, as they can usually provide you with the right different San Francisco bankruptcy attorney for your case.

They will usually give you a list of lawyers right around you, with more information on them such as their experience level (very important) as well as any complaints that might have been filed against them.

Obviously, you want to avoid the ones with major complaints on their record. Quite simply, you'd be surprised at how often this occurs with lawyers, so avoid these ones.

Another method, of course, is to just go online and see which sites come up under San Francisco bankruptcy attorneys, which should be quite a few. From this method, you can just see who the heavy advertisers are, and narrow your search down this way, and then talk with others who've used these attorneys and see which one thy would recommend.

Most of the lawyers on here have their contact info available, so you can just get it right online and give them a ring without even having to check the phone book.

Remember that expenses should not be spared in hiring the right lawyer, as the right one can make all the difference between you getting a good or bad deal in court. Make sure you find one that knows all the nuances of the San Francisco bankruptcy laws, and you will find the right San Francisco bankruptcy attorney for your situation.<bio>For more info on finding the best San Francisco Bankruptcy Attorney, check out onlinebankruptcytips.com, a popular site that covers the subject of bankruptcy in depth.</bio>

To some, San Francisco is the quintessential American city, and most first-time visitors discover a similar feeling upon leaving. The tumultuous rollercoaster of the city's history, tied in closely with the history of the United States, has created a mecca of modernism and tradition, revolution and reaction, sassy style and sophistication. Find airfare to San Francisco now and don't miss out on another minute of the action!

San Francisco has experienced a parallel history with the nation's evolutions and revolutions. San Francisco began as the Spanish colony of Yerba Buena, followed soon thereafter by the California Gold Rush, which exploded the city's population nearly 25-fold within a year. An earthquake followed by the Great Fire nearly destroyed the entire city in 1906. Since San Francisco's early cityhood it has been a mosaic melting pot of Chinese, Japanese and Italian immigrants (to name a few), many of whom were held at Angel Island, the West's own Ellis Island equivalent. Today you can catch a ferry out to the historic island which is now a beautiful park suited for most outdoor recreation including cycling and jogging.

It's Got That Groovy Feeling

San Francisco has been a bastion of social movements and progressive thinkers over the last century. Although it may not be the Summer of Love anymore, this city is still a product of its Hippie parents, civil rights protests and beatnik artist generation -- as well as the dot-com boom and burst that came in the late 90s.

The Critical Mass ride on the last Friday of each month is true to form for San Francisco. Hundreds of bicyclists gather and ride a route through the city streets to a predetermined destination to claim their rights to the streets (make sure you are not driving that day!). A walk through The Castro, the predominantly gay and artsy neighborhood, is also a must do. You will find exquisite boutique stores, antique book shops and some excellent independent movie theaters.

Sea, See and Scene

The sights in San Francisco are just as diverse (and just as groovy) as its history. Discover the rugged terrain and map out the seascape of San Francisco from atop Telegraph Hill, where Coit Tower stands as a former beacon to sailing ships. From here you can drop easily down into North Beach where Fisherman's Wharf is buzzing with street performers, sea lion shows, and some delicious seafood. Golden Gate Park, larger than Central Park, is an escape in many different forms with its numerous gardens, exhibits and memorials -- you can even encounter some roaming bison!

Sophistication is certainly everywhere you so desire it. San Francisco's ballet, symphony, opera and theater rank the city's performing arts on a level unparalleled. Dining in San Francisco is as good as it gets, with superb Chinese, Vietnamese, French and Californian inspired fare. For dessert, take a visit to Ghirardelli Square; the famous chocolatier was founded in this American city. Or, head to Citizen Cake after the opera as they are the self-proclaimed "best dessert in the world."

Whether nightlife or daylife is what you are seeking in your perfect travel destination, you can be sure that San Francisco has everything to offer and then some. Discover the intense history and vibrantly ecclectic reality of this Northern California metropolis by booking your airfare to San Francisco today! <bio>For more information about San Francisco, discount airfare to San Francisco, and other deals on cheap airfare and wholesale flight tickets, check out http://www.cfares.com. </bio>
