The measurement of sales performance is an essential part of any business. The success of a company depends on its revenue, which depends on sales. To stay in business, you have to make enough sales that you generate more income than expenses. Sales performance entails more than just how much you sell; it also entails how little you spend on generating sales. For example, if you spend twice as much money marketing a product as you gain from selling it, then you need to improve your sales performance. Since there are so many factors involved in sales performance, the measurement of it also entails more than just measuring how much you sell.

A great tool you can use for the measurement of sales performance is sales metrics. These metrics will also help in the creation of goals and incentives. With sales metrics, you can make sure that you place suitable expectations on your sales operations, because the metrics help you set goals that are realistic, logical, and attainable. Otherwise, you may set unrealistic and unattainable expectations, or even worse you may set the goals too low. Metrics can include any measurable aspect of your sales efforts, such as number of phone calls, number of leads, number of hours spent on sales, and so forth. Try to avoid overwhelming your sales department with excessive tracking numbers. Instead, focus on the few metrics of most importance to your business.

Another great tool that can assist in the measurement of sales performance is a scorecard. Scorecards are often written on spreadsheets. A scorecard is simply a template for tracking your efforts in reaching your sales goals. A scorecard is a concise report with a set of measures related to your sales performance. You associate each measure with one or more targets. You can fill a scorecard out as you go, so that you will not only have a report once it is filled out, but also you can determine the pace at which you are reaching your goals. This will also alert you when sales performance is failing.

You will also want to use a benchmark to help you gauge your success and determine where you could use improvement. Sales benchmarking is an important process in sales management. It compares your sales performance to the sales performance of other companies and to industry standards. A benchmark gives you a point-of-reference. It gives you a standard which gives context to your own sales performance. You cannot know how good or bad your sales are unless you have something to which you can compare them. A benchmark is that something. The purpose of using a benchmark is to identify opportunities for improvement of sales performance and also to focus your sales efforts.

Use these general tools and methods to aid in the measurement of your sales performance. Nonetheless, remember that the measurement of your sales performance depends on your industry and your specific company. You want to find ways to best rate your performance, which you can do by finding the variables of most relevance to success as your company defines it. <bio>If you are interested in learning more about http://www.strategy2act.com/solutions/sales_metrics_scorecard_excel.htm sales performance measurement, check Sam Miller new web-site. </bio>

All of us have a built in desire to succeed. That goes for those that are already wealthy as well as for those of us that are reaching out for that goal.
Getting The Most From Sales Metrics. Sales metrics do many different things for businesses that many people don't realize. Some of the things that you can do with sales metrics are finding out who is your best salesperson or what line of products are doing best. Return of investment is also something sales metrics can do for you. These thing are very important for many reasons. Before sales metrics you actually had the data but it could hide many things in your organization. Some of those were customer segment, product line, or a winning salesperson.

This is one of the advantages of using sales metrics Sales drives business and their growth is tied to sales projections. knowing as much as you can about sales metrics will help you in this area. Probably the one thing that sales metrics helps the most is with breaking down individual area's which will let you see how to better improve the performance of your salespeople to the performance of your products. This key to getting the most from sales metrics.

Building A Better Business With Sales Metrics. Data has always been key and that probably is more true than ever in the climate we live. Sales metrics has helped change business in a positive direction. Getting data for the parts of your business that help you the most is something that sales metrics does very well. Where before breaking down data was very time consuming sales metrics have helped make the job alot easier. Let's look at how sales metrics have really helped business out.

Many dollars are wasted on things that are not turning a profit and finding out which is working and which aren't is very important to small business. Big business have a bigger profit margin than small business so sales metrics are really crucial to their success. Sales metrics gives the small business a helping hand in getting the data to the right people. Data is what helps companies determine how to progress with next step in business and what way to tailor their sales.

Sales Metrics More Than Just Numbers. Everybody looks at data in different ways and many times two people will see different things from the same numbers. Sales metrics gives you the opportunity to take the data and see how it will help your business and make your business grow even more. Having sales metrics in place cuts down on loss because you will be able to see what is working and what is not.

This is why more and more companies are looking towards sales metrics as the way to further their business and turn even more profit. In the end sales metrics will be the thing that you turn to every time when you have a question about product sales or anything that you want to know about. This is why sales metrics keeps growing and has become more popular over the last few years. <bio>If you are interested in sales metrics, check this web-site to learn more about measuring sales performance. http://www.strategy2act.com/solutions/sales_metrics_scorecard_excel.htm </bio>

The success of a multi-level marketing company lies solely within its name: marketing. The typical MLM company not only markets its product, but it markets the success of its company and thus draws more sales people into the fold and thus a larger sales region. Every time a sales person jumps on board, the company grows because that sales person offers a virtual new market of people for the company. So how does a sales person then engage in successful MLM marketing? Three basic ideas will help him find success.

First and foremost, even in MLM marketing, a sales person should use the product he or she is attempting to sell. We can learn best about what the product does or does not do by simply using it on a regular basis for its intended purpose. Can you imagine a Mary Kay sales woman who uses Covergirl? Maybe a Pampered Chef consultant who buys knives from Sears? The thought seems ludicrous. If your product is great enough to sell to others, you must use it yourself. Furthermore, using your product will lead you to give your own testimonial about the product. You can share what you really do like or don't like.

Second, succeed at selling your product. If you can sell your product successfully, then you can convince others to sell the product successfully. MLM companies reward the sales people who not only sell their product but who also bring in those new sales people that expand their sales region. Thus if you can find a way to sell your product successfully, you will easily convince others to join your company.

Finally, recruit customer testimonials. Ask returning customers if they will sit in on a sales pitch with a new client. They can share the great things that your product has done for them, and their effective testimony will essentially sell the product. Asking a customer to help you out in this way may seem uncomfortable at first, but if they believe in the product fully, they will gladly help you out because they want others to experience the same great result.

Ultimately, MLM marketing is no different from any other type of marketing. If you can sell the product, you can sell the business, and you will find yourself more successful than ever in your line of work. <bio>Anna Hugi is a sole parent of three young boys.
Have you tried running your own home based business before? If you have, you are probably aware that a large percentage of home based businesses fail within a year's time. For many entrepreneurs, it's much sooner. At the same time, you probably know that the average successful home based business entrepreneur makes more money than the average employee. How do the successful entrepreneurs do it? Why are they the minority?

Well, the answer is quite simple. Each and every business model requires selling. Do you personally enjoy selling? If the answer is No, then you're not alone. Just ask 20 people on any busy street if they enjoy sales. 18 or 19 will tell you No. The fact is, most people dislike the sales process. This is quite natural, and there is absolutely no reason to feel inadequate if you want to own your own home based business, but hate sales.

Now think about this: Apparently you do not dislike sales people. And you know why? Because you and I normally buy stuff. We buy lots of stuff. Each and every item that we purchase requires a sales transaction. Now if you recently purchased cable TV service, you had to interact with a professional sales person. Did you dislike the cable TV representative? Of course not! The cable TV representative had a valuable service that you were willing and able to purchase. That is one of the reasons your transaction went so smoothly. But there is more to it than that.

It is not a coincidence that the cable TV sales representative made you feel good about your decision to purchase. The most successful sales people and sales organizations spend lots of time and money on self improvement, because they know that their personal development is directly proportionate to their sales success. Just ask any highly successful sales professional what or who they turn to for personal development, imitate them, and you will have opened your mind to an entire new way of thinking. Make it a routine to take in personal development material on a daily basis, apply it to your home based business. The odds are that you will join the elite minority that succeed in a home based business.

Now that we know that selling is OK, do you feel like becoming a professional sales person to support your home based business? If not, that's OK. You can do the next best thing. In fact, this particular 'thing' may be a superior model for you to follow: Hire your own professional sales staff.

Now if you're thinking 'Wow, that's a great idea' then you are probably familiar with the concept of leverage. Leverage in business means, very simply, that you get someone or something else to duplicate your efforts. Take your cable TV provider for example. The board of directors is smart enough to hire talented sales people to speak with potential customers. They feel great about the business, passionate about their products, but they still hire professionals to close the sales.

So there is your formula for success in a home based business. Become a sales professional, or hire your own professional sales staff. It has worked in every capitalist civilization in the past, and there's absolutely no reason that it wouldn't work for you. <bio>Antony Mosley is an ongoing student of Success University, http://planforwealth.net, and a distributor with the Coastal Vacations Call Center, http://www.traveladventure.tv .

Sales is like any other business. There are people who just do it as there jobs and are pretty good, there are people who do it cause its what they want to do, and are great at it, and there are people who are in the process of burning out.

Only, doing sales, you burn out much more quickly than in other fields. That's why it wouldn't even make sense to do professional sales training as you're starting out -- how do you know you'll even be in it for more than a year or two.

There are many seminars, services, books, and other such like that offer you so called professional sales training, but take it from me, a professional. That is not where you want to start.

Of course, once you've made it past what we call the "two year hump", you're probably in it for good, and can do professional sales training. You'll know who the players are, who use approaches compatible with your personality, and who you can avoid because they've got nothing to offer you.

Some professional sales training courses are really offered by the best people in the industry, people with such a nack for sales that they can charge hundreds of dollars for seminars to teach others how to do what they do.

But other times, professional sales training is just offered by two bit huksters, who don't know jack about sales, people who are good enough maybe to teach a beginner some tricks, but who aren't really worth the money you've got to pay to see them.

You see, professional sales training events involve salesmanship themselves, only they have to be sold to salesmen. You can tell good professional sales training, because there will be a lot of veterans there as well as newcomers.

Most sales companies offer professional sales training on the job, because, lets face it, you've either got it or you don't. Now, once you get into the game a little bit, you can sometimes benefit from further professional sales training seminars, classes and the like, but until then it's a bad idea to try that approach.

Until you've been in the industry a year or two, you won't have a nose for it, and won't be able to tell what professional sales training courses are likely to be good and which ones are just a money making scheme to exloit new comers. <bio>Read all about professional sales training. http://professionalsalestraining.info </bio>

We all have to measure our finances, using an approved accounting system. We may hate it, but it is a requirement by law. Thus we all get an accountant to tell us what we did, how much money we made or lost, how much tax we have to pay, and then most of us sigh a collective sigh of relief, and forget about it. Large businesses use the financial figures, to create management accounts that we use on an ongoing business.

However, there is much more than just finance we need to measure. This article provides list of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that every small business should monitor.

Have you got a KPI List?

You should set up measurement and monitoring of the at least some of, but not limited to the following KPIs. These need to in turn be discussed and reviewed at all of the management meetings. It is vital that you put steps in place immediately to ensure that you as the owner of your business have a business that you are proud of.

Number and value of leads for the month Sales made for the month Value and number of new sales Value and number of outstanding opportunities Referrals gained Testimonials given No of sales calls per rep Number of telesales calls made Marketing expenditure for the month Customer complaints Standard Cash flow reports such a cash, debtors, creditors etc

Are there any standard symptoms, that one can spot, that lead to a lack of business success?

Many nearly successful companies, who have great goals and ambitions like you, however encounter many problems. Some of the key issues that they may be facing are as follows;

The sales team is converting less than 10% of opportunities into sales. There is no process for lead qualification and many leads are falling through the cracks. The sales team is not following defined sales processes. There is a lack of adequate sales management. There is no consistent process for communication between telesales and sales. There is no measurement of Key Performance Indicators. There is no consistent format for pricing proposals being used. There is no process to gauge customer satisfaction levels. There is no process to gather customer testimonials There is no process to obtain customer referrals It is not clear what leads are generated by the marketing spend

Do any of these seem familiar? It is vital that you put steps in place immediately to ensure that you as the owner of your business have a business that you are proud of.

Putting in place measurements is vital to business success. Many people struggle in deciding which KPIs they should install into their business. If that is the case, then maybe signing up for a free sales and marketing assessment, is what you need to do. At least then you will have given it a shot, and no one can blame you for not trying. <bio>This article was written by Peter Lawless, founder of http://www.3r.ie/ For previous articles like this, visit 3R's Articles.
From The School Of Hard Knocks:

To be a success in the sales and marketing or a home based business work habits play a very important role in the sales game. The numbers game is what we are talking about here. Your profits or commissions are directly related to the number of contacts you make on a daily basis. That takes a lot of focus and perseverance on our part to have on line business success. With all the competition out there we have to out work them or be smarter and learn from E-Books or find a one on one mentor.

Keeping records of these contacts is a vital part of the system to track your progress. This will also allow you to keep track of the sales closing percentage. There are all kinds of sales formulas and statistics that come from these basic ideas. Using ad tracking ,auto responders and website statistics can help us keep track of the daily contacts being made. You have to know where you're at to no which direction to take your on line business opportunity.

To use them simply divide the number of contacts by the number of presentations by the number of sales and you have your closing percentages. An example would be 10 contacts equal 3 presentations equal 1 sale. Your closing ratio would be 30 %. You can even divide these by the profits or commissions and know exactly what you make for each task. It can become a fun game even when if process is boring to us.

In the direct sales business and Internet marketing business the same holds true. It doesn't matter how much you know it's how much you show. We know knowledge is power but More shows equal more chances to be successful. I once asked a super sales pro what his SECRET to success was. Waiting for the big secret information to come he said that all he did was out work every one else. You don't have to be a Rocket Scientist to learn The Science Of Making Money!

Is that's all there is to it? Well partly but you need to focus on getting a high Quantity of Quality presentations. Try to get the first contacts before lunch or make a goal to have an order before noon. This one habit I formed early in my career put me far ahead of the competition. Make Monday Tuesday, Wednesday Your Main FOCUS days and the rest of the week will be a lot more productive.

With the Internet as a contact tool we can excel at light speed by simply applying these principles to our on line sales business. Web hosting keeps track of the stats in all kinds of categories. Use those to judge what areas we need to focus on but remember that our SUCCESS is a direct result of the WORK HABITS we put into effect on a daily basis.

Staying focused on the getting visitors to our website is the first step to success and that is in direct proportion to the effort your willing to put out. Are You Willing To Pay The Price. Navigate The Highway To Success. Find A Vehicle To Get There and develop Those Work Habits. Then you will be on the way To The Top And have a successful home based business opportunity. However it can lonely up there be prepared........

The habits we form today will be the future of your business and what you get payed is a direct result of the effort you put out. Be careful SUCCESS can be Habit Forming!

Copyright =A9 Daniel Hatchell <bio>Daniel Hatchell is owner of http://CruiseControlProfits.com and writes on a variety of subjects.
It is amazing how many companies dive straight into a training program without ever understanding the real training needs. These same companies certainly wouldn't start a new business venture without fully understanding the issues, how to get from where they are today to where they want to go and the costs and risks in doing that.

Training Needs Analysis (TNA) can made to sound very complex with lots of Landamp;D speak, but fundamentally it is a simple process to qualify why you need to do the training, what business benefits are expected, and what the costs and ROI will be of the program. We would suggest a process that covers the following areas:

* Business Needs for the training - what is the business reason for the training.

* Gap analysis - what do we want to have after the training that we don't have now. What competencies and behaviours can we change to close the gap. See Competency Based Training.

* Sales team assessment - analysis of their current skills, knowledge, competencies and behaviours. See Sales Force Assessment.

* Check point - can training really fix these issues or are there other business or organizational issues to fix.

* Agree training outcomes - What are the objectives and outcomes of the training. How will we measure success. See Measuring Sales Training Success.

* Choose the appropriate delivery method(s) - develop outline training plan by module and cost the training. This may include in-house and external training companies. See Training Design.

* Budget approval/Sign off - report back to the business and get approval to go ahead.

The scale and complexity of each step varies depending on the size of the change expected and associated costs. But we believe even in the most straight forward cases, a small amount of time spent doing this sort of due diligence is time very well spent. <bio>John Fowler is a sales and management trainer designing and delivering workshops across the world specifically for the IT industry.
The sales of the new iPod video are surprisingly good, taking into account the fact that no research has been made for the customer market and their needs or requirements.

A possible disadvantage for the sales may be the fact that the negative advertising has been made. This negative advertising concerns the vulnerability of the screens, the easy scratching surfaces and other several features. However, the sales are up due to the great success among the teenagers, among very busy people who travel a lot.

Some researches show that instead of the iPod video success and publicity the Amazon online store the most popular iPod is the nano model. However, the sales are ahead expectations and in the case of other stores are outselling the popular iPod nano. These high sales may be due to the high storage capacity, video features and reasonable prices. From this point of view, a selection of users may be made, as the nano edition iPod attracts more MP3 users. Therefore, a new trend and a new profile of user appeared taking into account the high sales for the new video iPod.

Another aspect of the great sales concerns the fact the new iPod video is not a competitor for the TV industry, but more a complementary device. Although the rating of some TV shows or films may lower, the iPod video may also contribute to the fame extend of some TV shows or films. The sales may be also triggered by the trendy urban lifestyle and capacity of influencing the preferences and needs of the others. The fact that the episodes of the TV series such is the case of "Lost" or "Desperate Housewives" may have contributed to the great success and great sales of the new edition of the iPod.

Other sales were going up as they developed from the new edition of the iPod and this is the case of the iTunes Music Store. In this type of store you may buy episodes of the famous TV series, music videos and pictures. The parallel development of two complementary services =96 the handheld video device and the special store for it - is a great achievement. Besides, the iPod is the best selling music online store and it will probably be the best music video online store. The sales may also rise due to the new available TV series or TV shows of the famous TV Channels.

Taking into account the fact that the iPod is the best seller in the United States, being the most successful music player, it was easy to predict high sales for the new edition, even it is a video iPod. The prices were lower as the lower-cost players were introduced on the market in the last years, but the nano edition has increased the prices. With the new iPod video the price has been pushed beyond the average selling price.

That is why the sales of 100 iPods every minute may seem not surprising at all and sales of 14 millions in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2006 are considered not bad at all for such a company. The sales for the iPod video may also rise together with the spreading worldwide of the popularity of this edition of iPod http://www.reviews7.info .

However, the iPod video doubles the Apple's sales. The sales were made skyrocket due to the great success of the new iPod video outselling in some cases other types or editions of iPods. Nevertheless, the maximized sales are due to the new video features, longer battery life, more options and more memory space enough for a lot of music, music videos, TV shows and episodes, and even lots of photos for the photo album. These features and improvements make the new iPod video so popular and fashionable. These aspects and others (games, possibility of checking the e-mail, possibility of finding out the time in other cities and other useful features) suit very well the contemporary lifestyle. <bio>http://www.reviews7.info </bio>

Sales revenue is usually considered to be one of the most important measurements of how well a business or organization is succeeding and that may be true in part, although a more accurate measurement of the company's performance would be the net profit before taxes. However, even this figure, i.e. net profit, has little bearing on a question about how effective the sales department is in doing their job of sales. In order to determine effectiveness of the sales department or any other department, the company must look at a different kind of measurement.

The first step in the process is necessarily the development of the objectives for the entire company, usually determined by such methods as the Balanced Scorecard process. This requires an understanding of the difference between measuring revenue and determining performance measurements. Depending upon the size and complexity of the organization this could be a simple or a difficult process. Once the company has determined how progress toward the goal of a better bottom line will be measured, then some more specific performance indicators for the various departments can be developed. There may be performance indicators for the marketing department, the call center and the sales department. Each of these can be isolated so that the department is only being measured for performance of the own stated objectives.

This is the difficult part of the process--deciding what to measure. Once you've determined what to measure, figuring out how that can be done is a less involved task, although still important. You don't want the measuring process to detract from the progress toward the objective.

In the case of the performance of the sales department, it's important to ensure that the key performance indicators be those items which are within the control of the department and that they are things which can be measured. The third factor is that the KPI (Key Performance Indicators) be something that actually is helpful in moving toward the objectives. For example, increasing the number of sales calls may not be a good indicator of success, since there could be more calls made but less conversion to sales. It's unfortunate that often the performance indicators are set up because they are easy to track, not because they have any relationship to actual performance.

On the other hand, care must be taken that there is a way to track the performance indicator without the sales personnel spending an inordinate amount of time calculating whether their progress reports indicate success or failure of the stated objective.

Over the past few years, great strides have been made in the development of software which assists in identifying key performance indicators and then in collecting and organizing the information to assist in determining whether the objectives are being met or not. Since good performance indicators are something which is long term rather than short term it's important to develop good ones and to track them well. <bio>If you are interested in sales measurements, check Sam Miller new web-site http://www.strategy2act.com/. </bio>

Your sales page must entice the reader to open up their wallet and get out their credit card.

There are many successful sales pages but most likely they did not start out that way. A truly successful sales page should always be a work in progress. What worked wonderfully a few weeks ago may not be converting at a rate that is satisfactory now.

To super charge your sales pages you should be AB testing them. AB testing, also known as split testing is a process whereby you create multiple sales pages for the same product or service and track which of the pages has the higher conversion rate.

In order to be a successful internet professional you must convert visitors to customers. The internet is very impersonal in that you do not meet a prospective customer face to face or even have a conversation with them on the phone. All you have is your sales page to persuade a potential customer to buy. AB testing can be the difference between a sales page that converts one or two sales per week and one that converts 10, 20, 50 or more sales per day.

Here is an example of how I AB test my sales pages:

1.) Creation

I begin with a new sales page that I have created and then create two alternate pages. On these alternate pages I change a single attribute. On the first I may change the headline and on the second I reword the first paragraph.

2.) Traffic

Once the pages are ready I start sending equal amounts of traffic to each page. In most cases I run the test for 7 days.

3.) And the Winner Is

The page that had the best conversion rate was the one on which I changed the headline. This is the one that I will keep. The other two I keep in a folder on my computer so that I can review them occasionally.

4.) Repeat

This time I start with the page that had the best conversion rate in my previous AB test. Again I write 2 new pages and change a single attribute. This time I will not change the headline because it was the winner in the last text. Then I run my process again.

The key to developing an exceptionally powerful sales page is constant testing. When I have tested all elements of the page I begin the process again. This constant cycle of testing will increase both sales and profitability.

If you are not AB testing then you basically saying "I don't care about how many sales I make." If you are saying something similar to that statement, you do not belong in the internet marketing business. Now that you understand the process you can start testing and start creating a profit pulling monster where you wimpy sales page used to be.<bio>Don't Miss Out On My FREE Report - Double Your Sales In Just 24 Hours!</bio>

One of the most difficult things about starting your online business is knowing where to begin. There are many different guides that can help you to be able to start a brick and mortar business but Internet marketing is still a growing and developing field. This can make it difficult to know where to start, unless you have a clear path drawn up in advance. There is a system available that will help you to be able to take your marketing to the next level, not only by providing you with the tactics but by providing you with a step by step system that will guarantee your success.

The 1UptoWealth business package helps you on a number of different levels. Not only can they drive the necessary traffic to your website, they can help you to pull those initial prospects through your sales funnel and turn them into clients and customers. This helps you to be able to concentrate on the more important parts of your life and to build your business instead of just working for it. Here are some of the ways that 1UptoWealth can help you to walk away from the table a winner.

The first way that you will find a benefit is in the traffic that you can get from this system. None of us would expect a store that we owned to make it if there was nobody walking through the door, we should'nt expect our online business to be any different. The main problem with starting an online business is that you can get so bogged down with traffic generation that you can let the other important parts of your business go. The 1UptoWealth system helps to pull people into your website, allowing you to concentrate on other parts of your business. Of course you could always send more but the initial traffic will be there automatically.

Another way that you will be benefited is through automated sales. As with any business, there are some things that are better left to those with experience. The 1UptoWealth system gives you the opportunity to send your sales prospects directly to a sales number, one that has been proven to generate sales from sales prospects. You will also get your first 30 days of prospects for free, a benefit that could add up to thousands of dollars, right in your pocket.

There are many reasons why you should choose an automated sales system, such as 1UptoWealth but the one that stands out the most is probably the simple fact that it helps you to build your business without burying your life into it. It gives you the opportunity to find your success on your own timeframe, even allowing the system to run on autopilot while you handle the more important things in life. So if you are considering building an internet business, make sure that you start with a system that will help you for the long run. Not only can it give you a helping hand into your online business, it can give you success that will last a lifetime. <bio>Mickey Burton is a successful internet marketer to get a copy of the free ebook on how to boost your online marketing visit http://www.easy1uptowealth.com </bio>

Companies spend thousands of dollars every year building product knowledge andquot;Universitiesandquot;. They send their sales people to these product schools to learn the features and benefits of their products. They have them go through the process of becoming andquot;productandquot; experts, with the hope that the expertise they gain will propel them to sales success.

Unwittingly, they promote and fund a process that ends up creating andquot;non supportive beliefsandquot; in the minds of their sales people that can actually inhibit their success and lose them both sales revenue and profit margins. Those beliefs include the following:

Disseminating product knowledge to my prospect will build my credibility and make sales.

In order for the prospect to understand the value of my offer I must educate them.

Unfortunately, we have found this type of thinking, or andquot;non supportive beliefsandquot;, end up creating very difficult selling problems. Once we understand the problems these non supportive beliefs create we can begin to change both our thinking and behavior that will lead us to greater success in sales.

Although being credible to your prospect is important , we believe that having them trust you to provide a solution that will limit the risk they take in making a decision to buy from you is much more important. The way you build that trust is by demonstrating to your prospect, through a complete understanding of their problems, that you reduce the chance of making a mistake in the recommendation you make.

Logically, to gain an understanding of what your prospect needs, would require us to ask questions. Through your questions, you gain a greater understanding of their situation and thereby lower the risk of making a recommendation that is inconsistent with what they need. Asking questions about typical problems and understanding the impact they have on your prospect is much more important than giving out information.

Also, we have found that educating your prospect about your value allows them to use your information and recommendations as a way to andquot;shopandquot; you against the competition, frequently building RFP's and RFQ's around the unique value you have educated them about. This andquot;shoppingandquot; model allows them to get competitive bids built around your recommendations that literally extinguish your value and end up creating sameness. This andquot;free consultingandquot; is particularly frustrating and damaging to our technology and intangible service customers.

Educating your prospect may make you feel good but it will end up being your downfall. It's a dead end street that will force you to define your difference by a low price! <bio>John E.
Many people have ideas about running an online business that are unrealistic. They assume that they simply need to obtain a website, which will cause the money to magically start flowing. Unfortunately, this is very far from the truth. People who have had success online can tell you that it is not so easy. Like an offline business, success in an online business requires a high degree of knowledge, a little bit of luck, some timing, and hard work. Luck alone, however, is not likely to be enough. Following are some tips to assist you in getting off on the right foot.

Your website is your storefront. It must look professional and clean just like your office or store on the street. The first impression many people will develop of your business is the image of your website home page. On the internet if someone doesn't get pulled in right away they are likely gone within a matter of seconds. You must manage your website presentation with extreme care.

It is a very common saying in internet marketing that the money is in the list. The importance of understanding this cannot be over emphasized. You must use professional and ethical ways to build your list. Never buy a list of names and email addresses without extreme care. While email marketing is the lifeblood of many online business, it can kill your business faster than almost anything else if you are identified as spamming people. It is critical that you build your own list with only those who have personally opted in to receive your mailings. Quality counts big time in internet marketing. You must provide quality products and customer service. If you lack in this area you may make some sales initially but you will never build a lasting secure online business. Quality builds a steady stream of repeat buyers who can bring in their friends to become one of your customers.

Important to the success of your internet business is your sales copy. Since you cannot interact with prospects personally, you need to depend on the strength of this sales copy. The particular market you are in determines to some degree the rules of how to write your sales copy, but no matter what, you need to grasp people's attention and inform them of all the benefits they can receive from you. This needs to be done as soon as possible, since there are only seconds to excite them and encourage them to read other details about your services and products. <bio>You can get a free copy of my latest ebook "The 7 Keys To Business Marketing Success" by clicking here: http://www.bizraves.com .
The secret of selling is the art of value visualization. A natural sales person will lead the buyer through a series of structured questions, whereby the buyer will actually "see" what the product will enable them to do. The Sales person then will encourage the prospect to put their own value on that capability.

In the early days of selling, sales people were taught to discuss their product's features and emphasize those features that distinguished them from the competition. As the art of selling matured, sales people were then taught to emphasize the benefits of their products -- in other words what their products did for their customers.

"Help your customers realize the Value that they will Gain from buying your product"

Today's the buzz words are all about solution selling and consultative selling. Sales people are asked to look from the buyer's perspective and match their needs accordingly. This is a huge step from the early days of feature pushing, but I firmly believe they need to go one step further.

The good news about this, for business owners who do not have formal sales training, is that this magic step is actually common sense. The secret to generating a prospect who will willingly become a buyer is to get them to define, in their own terminology, the value of having your product.

OK, so how do we do that? We go back to first principles, the reason why you started your company. You probably saw a gap in the market, felt you could create a product or service to plug that gap, did some market research, found there was a need -- and hey presto, you created a company to make, market and sell that product.

So what was that need? What did people really want? If they got your product what did that enable them to do? Could they easily put a value on it?

If the answer is yes to the last question, you need to ensure that your product's cost is less than the value they put on it. Why? Because then buying it for them is good value.

So the real secret to sales success is to help your customers realize the Value that they will Gain from buying your product.

And just when you thought that was enough -- there's more! The final two things you need to fix in your customer's mind are;

When they need to have it What the downside of not having it is

Once your sales person has managed to do all of that, you know what? They won't be coming to you asking for discounts. The customer understands the Value they are getting, and besides, what good sales person is going to ask you to reduce their commission by giving away revenue they don't have to.

Remember, encourage your prospects to see what they could really do if they were using your product, and then put a value on it.

Let me leave you with one question to ponder. Why does a Porsche 4X4 cost €130,000 more than a Hyundai 4X4 -- does it cost that much more to make, is it that much better, and is it worth it? It is truly amazing the value some people put on image -- but then that's visual. <bio>This article was written by Peter Lawless, founder of http://www.3r.ie/ For previous articles like this, visit 3R's Articles. When you hire the company you should find out the methods and types of sales training they teach. Find out if they teach online sales.

A good sales trainer will train your staff on the methods of achieving sales through marketing strategies, online selling and advertising.

The techniques and tactics that are used by each business will depend on the needs and special requirements of the individual business. A quality sales training specialist will be able to analyze your business and determine the best techniques that should be taught in your sales seminar or training sessions.

Your sale staff will learn methods to decide on the best advertising methods and this will help you immediately begin to bring in new clients and customers. A sales training specialist will be able to conduct their training sessions in a variety of ways to suit your businesses needs. Or at the very least you must give them a reason to shop with you instead of online.

You should consider sales training for anyone in your business that has direct contact with your customers. Customer service and in office personnel can learn some great techniques for handling and dealing with customers in the most effective way.

There has been some data collected on the effectiveness of sales training.
One of the best ways to attract traffic to your MLM/Affiliate sales page is to write informative articles for distribution around the Internet.

One disadvantage is the speed of getting results. With direct advertising, response can be quite quick. However, you have to pay for them, which could be a problem when you first start. However, writing articles is free, (though there can be costs with distribution -- see my next article).

When you write, you should aim to give your reader a feel for you as a person, rather like having a favourite columnist in your daily newspaper. In traditional MLM they talk about approaching your warm market who, "know, like and trust you". But on the Internet the reader cannot see your body language or hear the tone of your voice. They can only go by the cold black and white of how you tap your keyboard. Becoming known, liked and trusted may take a number of articles.

How comfortable you are with writing can be an advantage or disadvantage. You might consider revisiting articles that you liked best. Did the author use humour? Did they tell personal stories to emphasise points? Were they just direct with giving information? Whatever it was that appealed to you will no doubt appeal to others. If it was humour for example, try to use humour too, but do not use the same jokes and avoid re-writing their article. Myself being British we use a lot of self-depreciating humour but I've never been very good at it!

You can find professional sites that write articles for you, but beware that they will be writing for other too, so you might not have very much uniqueness. I've never used them so I can't recommend any.

One of the main advantages of articles is that you can potentially reach an enormous amount of targeted people that could cost a lot with advertising. If your article is published, it could be picked up by others for their ezines, newsletters, blogs and so on. They then promote it through their own mailing lists or promotion of their own websites. Your articles get distributed by their efforts and at their expense with your name and links attached.

Furthermore, your articles may remain in those places long after all the paid adverts have disappeared, having your links pointing back to your sales page. I know someone who is still earning from articles he wrote 7 years ago.

As such, it may be worth considering taking out your own domain name and having traffic to it redirected to your sales web-page. If for some reason you have to change the business you are promoting in a year or two then the traffic to your domain name can be redirected to your new sales page, rather than having all those articles already published pointing at a web sales page that is defunct. <bio>Complete system with tools and guide to promote your MLM/Affiliate business on-line: http://www.success-simplified.ws Further advice and help to build your MLM business http://www.success-simplified.blogspot.com </bio>
