In order to make the sale, you need to have the right sales pitch that will make the customer want to buy. This means that you really have to know the product and make it exciting as you persuade customers that this is something that they need to buy. The perfect sales pitch will persuade customers to buy something even if they know deep down that this is a product they don't really need.

While it is important to have a good sales talk when you have a showroom, it is not as important as making a sales pitch when you are involved in door-to-door selling. This is because customers who come into a showroom are looking to buy. With door-to-door sales, you really have to convince the customer of the merits of your product. Some of the products that are sold in this manner include vacuum cleaners, home business opportunities and insurance. In order to have the best sales talk, you should write down what you want to say and practice on your family and friends. Take all criticisms seriously and reread the talk as you ask yourself if this talk would make you want to buy.

Visual aids help to make a sale almost as much as your speech. When you have products that you can show the customer and offer a demonstration, this also helps. You do have to tell the customers a bit about your background and present your credentials, so they know that you are serious about your job. If you make a living based on a commission from the sales, you should be upfront about this with your customers. This helps to build a rapport with them and will aid in making the sale.

Although you do have to be friendly and enthusiastic, you should not talk so much as to bore the potential customers. You should also watch what you say and not make rash judgements that may insult them. Keep conversation neutral and don't make any personal comments that might be detrimental to making the sale. <bio>If you need Sales information or have articles to distribute on Sales issues, visit our Sales section at: http://www.reprint-content.com/Category/Sales/209 Free article distribution for authors, free content for webmasters: http://www.reprint-content.com </bio>

The vital part of a business presentation is the sales. There is no other aspect of the meeting that will carry as much weight as the pitch; no amount of ambiance, product samples, glossy brochures, or witty jokes during the meet and greet session will hide the fact that either your sales pitch was heavy handed, contrived, or so weak that it was hard to notice when it started or ended. Drafting a successful affiliate marketing merchant network sales pitch takes a bit of time, effort, and practice, but it is well worth the investment of some practice time!

For example, did you know that prior to being able to draft such a pitch you would need to be crystal clear on your desired outcome? Many a presenter mistakes a broadly defined goal as the desired outcome, but there is a world of difference between the two. The goal may be defined as turning a lead into either a distributor or a buyer, but the outcome needs to be more closely defined by also including the responses within your listeners you are seeking to evoke. Do you want them feel stirred into action because of strong emotions or do you want them to feel guilt about not taking their business vision to the next level of profitability and thus act out of that emotion? Do you want to play to their gender (as in "are you man enough" or "be the woman they hear roar") or do you want to shake them by using their age ranges? Only a well-defined outcome will permit you to start the draft of that successful affiliate marketing merchant network sales pitch you desire to write.

Practice your pitch without notes. There is nothing more confidence destroying than a presenter who continuously has to refer back to notes and papers. Memorize every scrap of information and wow the audience by making it to the podium without any visible notes. Heading an affiliate marketing merchant network sales meeting will require your hearers to have not only the utmost confidence in you but also in the material. Since the majority of the meeting will be the delivery of the material, you become closely intertwined with it and thus if you look good, confident, able, and desirable, so will your pitch.

Last but not least, do not get lost in the minutiae. It is so tempting to embellish your affiliate marketing merchant network sales presentation with illustrations and anecdotes and while these most certainly have a place in your pitch, keep in mind that it takes a skilled presenter to include them while at the same time keeping the train of thought moving unerringly in the direction in which it is intended to go. Failure to keep that in mind will have the audience see you go off on tangents and relate amusing anecdotes, none of which will have any bearing whatsoever on the presentation at hand and may even hurt your chances of getting the audience to buy into the pitch! Watch experienced presenters use this tool of the pitch before utilizing it yourself! <bio>Cheryl Jennings is owner of http://MyGreatHomeEbiz.com and writes on a variety of subjects.
You may know how to pitch a baseball, but what about pitching a golf ball? In all honesty, these are two entirely different pitches that we are talking about. Although just about everyone knows what pitching a baseball is, the same does not hold true about pitching a golf ball.

Golf continues to become increasingly popular among people of all ages, countries, and sexes, 'pitching a golf ball' is no doubt soon to become a popular term. This is why it is in your best interest to learn about it - especially if you already have an interest in the game of golf.

In golf, the term 'pitching' means your short game, without putting. Pitching itself is a huge part of a golf game. If you are able to pitch a golf ball correctly, you will most likely be able to play your hole very well.

How do you pitch the golf ball correctly? Well, you must remember one key point. And that point is that after you hit it, the ball will bounce on the green. Afterwards, it will continue to roll. Do not forget this point when planning your pitch. You must take this ball movement into consideration, or you will end up placing the ball far past the hole that you were originally aiming at.

When attempting to successfully pitch the golf ball, you should pick a club that will help you achieve your goal in the best way. You should then try to figure out the projection of the ball after you hit it. Ask yourself if it is better to hit it in an arc or in a straight line. Keep your eye firmly on the spot on the green where you wish for it to land, and estimate the strength you need to use to get the ball to that point.

What stages does pitch have? Pitch has two different stages. The first pitch stage is the stage in which the golf ball is in the air. The second pitch stage is the stage in which the ball is in the putt phase. The golf ball is in the 'in-the-air' phase until it hits the ground, and then enters the 'putt phrase'. When hitting the golf ball, you must estimate where it will land based on its potential actions once it hits the ground.

What types of pitch can you use on the ball? Which pitch you use on the ball will determine the way in which the ball bounces and rolls. For example, if you use a flop shot, the ball will bounce several times. These bounces will be close together, and the ball will probably not roll very much because of the high arc that it was hit with. If you look at another ball, however, that was hit with an 8 Iron from thirty yards out, the ball will most likely bounce - and the speed of these bounces will probably be far apart. This ball will roll much further than the first one we discussed.

No matter what type of pitch you put on your ball, remember to pay close attention to your game and don't forget to have a good time. That's what golf is all about! <bio>Golf Articles at http://eGolf-Today.com.
You may have seen the pitch before- you can sell the product without even having a website! Technically, that is possible. People do make sales in other ways, but the real power of affiliate sales is in having a website of your own to call home. A website can do a lot of things for affiliate sales, and require far less promotion than advertising many separate sites on their own.

other affiliates promoting the same item. And, using nothing more than an affiliate link to the product site, there is a good chance that the buyer may take note of the site's url alone in order to come back another time to buy. With a separate site, yours will be the one that is bookmarked and read later instead of theirs.

In order to more effectively make your pitch, there has to be a site that buyers can look at, read, bookmark, and email to their friends. Building a content site does require getting some content together, which can be expensive, but it is also much more effective. And if you have many items to market, they can all go onto the site. Having them all in one place, especially if they are related items in any way, can increase your chances of having buyers purchasing more than one of your items at a time.

Having a website also gives you the chance to build up a client list. By putting out a regular newsletter to people requesting it through your site, you keep your site and your promoted products in their minds. You don't want to be the guy who wouldn't go away, but you do want to keep telling the potential buyer through the newsletter why he should buy through you. In addition, having content on your site makes it rank better in search engines. This means less promotion on your part and better traffic for the site.

There are affiliate marketers that rely on many single sales pages, and there are affiliates that don't even have that. Some marketers promote their items using ads that simply feature their affiliate link. The downside is often that there is no sales pitch, and consequently, no sales. Customers are not beating down the doors of affiliates in order to buy from them- an affiliate needs to have a space to make an effective sales pitch. A lot of people have lost money buying ads with no website of their own- don't make that mistake.

Another problem with having no website is that the items being promoted are likely being promoted by dozens, if not hundreds or thousands, of other people. In order to be effective, your sales pitch has to stand out. Using Adwords or Adsense exclusively, there is nothing to really distinguish yourself from those bozos trying to promote the same products you are. A website in itself is a product, and having a good one will only enhance your reputation. Content for your site that is practical, helpful, and well researched establishes you as an expert on the topic. Having some expert status makes you more credible and trustworthy than people simply advertising a url to sell the product. Why buy from some guy through a link when you can buy from the expert that knows so much about the product? Beats me.

Instead of wasting your money, start by differentiating yourself by building your own web site related to the affiliate program you want to promote. Write articles on the subject, include recommendations about the affiliate offer and set up a mailing list. You are now ready to start promoting your website in Adwords. If people don't buy right away, they can still come back to your site at a later time or sign up for your mailing list. In addition, if your site offers valid content, chances are that it will get spidered and listed by Google, thus providing you with a source of free traffic. <bio>The critical element to making money with any website is traffic.
How would one describe 'personal trainer marketing?' everyone knows that it defines fitness related products and the ways to market them. If we look at today's world everyone seems very busy and that has taken its toll on the individual's body. The body gets rusty, I should say, and one encounters stiffness in most parts of the body. That's the biggest reason for people to accept fitness training as a routine schedule in their daily lives. There are innumerable personal training sales programs, eager to offer services and some do make a hell of a lot of money, whereas others do not have the required inputs to make their way through and earn big.

Thus, the question arises as to how we rate the essence of sales in the entire personal training sales business. Sales are the most significant driving force in today's business set up. Even in a set up, such as personal training business, sales for some might not be as important, especially for those who feel themselves secured with less number of clients, and are much satisfied simply by giving them proper service, returning home and enjoying life in their apartment, and not having huge expectations out of their lives. But those guys who are aggressive, ambitious, always on the look out to give themselves a chance, ready to lift their life style, they are the one's who will agree with me that sales are the biggest motivation factor in personal fitness industry, though people now-a-days have developed a negative notion about these sales guys, and try avoiding a sales person on the first look. There is something I'd like to tell you, it's a secret you know, sales is more about getting your point across out of conviction rather than the need to convince people.

There are groups, who are scared of selling, unable to face others; they get more anxious and panic, even before they utter a single line. I am aware of these set of sales people, and my message to these guys, who are interested to be a part of personal training sales programme, who believe in fitness products and want to become a part of the selling team, is simple: go not only with an intention to sell your product but also with the tendency of a buyer, a buyer who has used the product. Do not start a sales pitch; instead express to your clients the way you felt after using these products. That's it; you probably will close the sale. Most of these sales people make the mistake of having the attitude of a seller, you and I know ultimately you are here to sell, but do not make it obvious. That is something these management training institutes do not tell you.

If somebody has not got my point, then I will make you go through an example where a personal fitness trainer was having a sales pitch to those fat and stiff looking lot at a packed conference room and unfortunately, she couldn't close a sale, and I could sense that she was about to melt down soon. After having few words with her, I found that she was in urgent need of some serious cash. And that is all I needed to figure out why she faltered; it's her need which made her sales pitch looked like a request. If you feel the need to be successful in personal training sales, you should want to, rather than need to.

That brings us to a sales process that helps a trainer to organize his sales set up. You can't be an upfront sales guy, who is very blunt in asking for a price, even before explaining a product. My advice to such sales people will be to join a retail shop, a grocery shop in particular, where you are not required to utter a single line, just deliver what you are been asked to do. Make this clear to yourself, personal training sales is not one of those areas where you can be so upfront, you must talk smooth. If somebody approaches you to buy your fitness sales program, try to explain your program, a one-on-one session is highly recommended, convey your feelings about how you have benefited from the product and make them visualize how they could transform themselves by implementing the training. These are the guidelines that I always try to impart to all my clients, and through my experience I have learned that it always works.<bio>Chris McCombs is an expert at personal training sales.
You want to pitch like a pro? Want to make people you've been pitching for 30 years? After many years in the college pitching circuit I've found there are 5 things that every pitcher needs to know. These are 5 important tips, however there are many more. I just feel like these would be the top 5:

1.) How to stay cool before you go out to play a game. 2.) Play as much as you can. 3.) How to tune out the world and focus on they job you need to do. 4.) Covering the hit after you throw a pitch. 5.) Keeping base runners from stealing bases.

Before you even step out onto the field you will get some pregame jitters. It's just normal. It's how you handle those feelings that will determine if you win or lose on the mound. To help you get focused, remember it's normal to feel how you feel. Many pitchers are able to transform that energy into positive results at gametime.

If you love pitching you will want to pitch as much as you can. This is good. Play catch with whoever will play with you. When you throw the ball, aim for different areas on your catcher body. Aim at his left arm area and try to throw it there. Have him move his glove around and try to hit his glove without having to move it an inch.

Focus is key in any successful pitching. Being able to block out the world is a hard task. Thinking too much can be a bad thing. If you're mind is racing about what you're having for dinner, and if your jersey is untucked, it will definitely affect your pitching. Learn to breathe deeply. This will certainly relax you and focus you for that next perfect pitch.

Next on the list of successful pitching is what happens after the pitch. You are a fielder like anyone else after you release the ball. After you pitch square yourself with homeplate and be ready for anything that may come your way. It is very important that you remain balanced during play so that you can throw the ball when necessary.

Keeping base runners on the bag is one of things that can keep pitchers unfocused. Don't let them spook you. Hold the ball, and look at the runner when you can. Let them know that you're not going to lose if they challenge you.

Remember that you're a pitcher, and that pitching perfect takes work, and lots of it. Practice anytime you can and don't be afraid to take a break if you feel yourself getting andquot;burned out.andquot; Sometimes time does make they heart grow fonder, even with pitching. <bio>Mike andquot;Fastballandquot; Fuller is a College pitcher who is being scouted by the minor leagues.

More than 90% of the spiral bound documents that you see on the market are bound with 4:1 pitch colorcoil binding. However, there are actually several different pitches of coil available for spiral binding. Each of these pitches have specific applications for which they are best suited. This article will provide a quick overview of the major different options for spiral coil hole patterns and their applications.

4:1 pitch color coil is the most commonly used pattern for document and presentation binding. This spiral binding hole pattern has four holes per inch and is fully compatible with 6mm pitch supplies (primarily used overseas). Four to one pitch color coil binding is available in sizes from 6mm to 50mm. This type of coil binding is the most commonly available spiral binding option and is designed for use with the majority of the smaller spiral binding machines on the market. This coil binding is easy to work with binding books up to 1 inch thick, however, inserting 4:1 pitch coils on books greater than one inch can be difficult and time consuming.

5:1 pitch coil is the second most commonly used pattern for document and presentation binding. This uses a hole pattern with five holes per inch and is also referred to as 5mm coil binding. The tighter spiral of this coil provides a distinctive look and is preferred by some individuals. One common misconception about 5:1 coil is that it provides a stronger more secure bind than 4:1 coil. This is simply NOT true. The fact that the 5:1 hole pattern places holes closer together than 4:1 makes it easier to tear the pages out on these documents. Still, the tighter spiral binding of the 5:1 pattern provides a distinctive look that some individuals prefer when binding their documents.

3:1 pitch spiral binding is the third most commonly used pattern for document and presentation binding. With three holes per inch, this spiral coil is compatible with both the GBC ProClick and the 3:1 wire binding hole patterns. It is primarily used by individuals who already have a 3:1 punch and wish to add the capability to bind coil documents. However, large auto punches and inline punches for photocopiers are sometimes sold with a 3:1 pitch die. While providing a look similar to its 4:1 counterpart, 3:1 coil binding is slightly easier to insert since it has less holes to spin through.

The three pitches discussed above are the most commonly used pitches for coil binding. However, coil binding can be special ordered in several other unique pitches. For instance, .400 pitch binding is designed for a hole pattern that has 2.5 holes per inch. This pitch of binding is only available in diameters greater than 20mm or 3/4" and is available in sizes up to 56mm or 2.25". However, the filament size of this coil binding is larger than is normally found on other pitches of coil binding, making it more rigid making it easier to insert on larger diameter books. .400 coil is most often used along with a 2:1 pitch wire hole pattern. However, a few companies make specialty dies specifically designed for this pitch of coil binding. <bio>Jeff McRitchie is the designer and Director of Marketing for http://www.MyBinding.com He has written over 100 articles on binding supplies, binding covers, 3-ring binders and more. </bio>

"The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself." - Peter F. Drucker

What is a pitch?

A pitch is designed to attempt a logical series of steps in order to arrive at a desired outcome.

What is a script?

A script is the same thing as a pitch.

As I see it, there are two ways scripts and/or pitches can be useful. The first is they can be useful to learn something new and the second, they can be used to persuade the write of the script, because ultimately, the writer of the script is the one who it's really designed to influence.

Other than that, they're useless. By pitching the pitch and ditching your script, you are absolutely going to excel in your business.

Now here's an alternative that is phenomenal. It's easier, more effective, and more efficient.

Persuasion.

What is persuasion?

Persuasion is rapport. It's giving someone exactly what they want. It's understanding the customer so well that you mold your product or service to fit them.

What does your customer want the most? That's what you're going to give them. If your customer understands that you're going to give them what they want, exactly what they want, they are going to get really excited about it and buy the product or service.

It's like stepping into you, and giving yourself the idea that this is what you want to do, and so since it came from you, you say "yes, of course, I want to do it".

Pitches can be useful as an outline giving you an overall series of points you might want to cover with your prospect.

If your prospect is going to sign an agreement, they need to know what's in the agreement, they need to know what they're agreeing to, so there are a few points that maybe you need to make sure to bring up.

What are you going to bring up those points in light of? (Hint: This is where persuasion comes in.)

Their criteria!! Their highest values!! What they want!

Marrying their criteria to our product or service is our sole intention in life. If their criteria equals your product, are they going to own it?

Yup. Absolutely.

Our job is to marry your affluent prospect's values with our product/service, (or with ourselves, if that's what you're selling - and to some extent you are always selling yourself).

We are doing this with intention. We do this rapport. We do this with criteria elicitation. These are all the building blocks of persuasion. With persuasion we can put our fingers on the hot button of our prospects.

All there is to this is focusing everything you say, do, express, on naming their values and criteria and showing them how you are the only person where they can get this criteria met.

Now that you have just this tiny understanding of persuasion, you can absolutely ditch the pitch. <bio>Kenrick Cleveland teaches techniques to earn the business of affluent clients using persuasion. He runs public and private seminars and offers home study courses and coaching programs in http://www.maxpersuasion.com persuasion techniques. </bio>

I've been involved in online marketing for many years now. Since I'm fairly successful at what I do, a lot of friends (and even a few strangers) have asked me for some advice about how they can make their online MLM venture work. I usually tell them that it doesn't matter what kind of product they have because the real key to increasing sales (and, therefore, the bottom line) is to increase the size of their salesforce. In other words, they have to know where to find business opportunity seekers who are ready to make money.

The good news is the fact that there's no shortage of business opportunity seekers out there. That's because everyone has heard by now that there is very good money to be made on the Internet and they want to take a piece of the pie. The bad news is that not every business opportunity seeker is right for your project. Instead of wasting time and money on a extensive advertising attack that mostly reaches people who have no meaning of following up on your offer, you should limit your ads to a select group of business opportunity seekers who are truly interested in your sales pitch.

That sounds easy enough. But how are you supposed to find these business opportunity seekers in order to get your message out to them. The best way to do so is to purchase a few hot mailing lists from upright sources. These mailing lists contain hundreds of names and email addresses of business opportunity seekers looking to join lawful operations like yours.

These are people who freely submitted their contact information and are waiting to hear from you. That's what makes targeted mailing lists much more valuable than general lists. You won't have to worry that the people you contact via targeted mailing lists might view your pitch as spam. Your emails will only go out to a captive audience of excited prospects.

I will offer you one caution here. Prior to purchasing a mailing list of business opportunity seekers, be sure to check into the seller's status. The last thing you want to do is spend good money on a list that contains stale names or invalid email addresses.

So if you're ready to expand your salesforce or pitch your products and services to targeted business opportunity seekers, then I suggest that you consider purchasing some MLM mailing lists. You'll be amazed at how much easier it is to close sales when your prospects actually want to hear from you. <bio>Get the latest articles and resources on how to http://www.articledirectoryzone.com/earn-extra-money.html as well as home business online. </bio>

One of the guys on the "Call for Scripts" live phone call today offered up the business script below. He said was getting people to go look at his information. He prefaced it with "Kim, you'll probably hate it..."

Just before he spoke, I had read the opening paragraphs from the new book Your Call Is Important To Us by Laura Penny:

"Never in the history of mankind have so many people uttered statements that they know to be untrue. Presidents, priests, politicians, lawyers, reporters, corporate executives and countless others have taken to saying not what they actually believe, but what they want others to believe -- not what is, but what works."

So here's what this gent's pitch included:

"We're an international company expanding into your area, and are looking for people who want to make $5,000-$6,000 per month working 10 hours a week. Does that sound like something you'd be interested in..."

Can you see the false promise here?

I asked him 3 questions:

Was he making $5-6k/mo working 10 hours per week? (No)

Had he signed anyone up from the ad who had done that? (No)

Had he ever met anyone who had EVER made $5-6k/mo working 10 hours per week, WITHOUT special personal circumstances, like they have thousands in their business, or have a name like Madonna or Tom Cruise where people would listen because they recognize them? (No)

The average income in the US is about $3,000/mo. That's working a full time job - usually 40 hours/week plus.

This is a too-common example of saying something to someone else, that the speaker, and all those who taught it to him, know to be untrue.

But they hope it works.

And it gets certain people to go and look. Maybe even a few buy. But since there is no one who has done the thing offered, i.e. earn $5000-6000/mo in 10 hours/week, and it's extremely unlikely that anyone every COULD do that without special personal circumstances, when they finally realize they've been duped, they go away mad - at themselves, and the duper, the industry, and who knows who else.

That is not a good thing.

Do you have other "false promises" you've heard or uttered yourself when making your sales pitch?

Submit and I'll post some. So everyone can recognize them for what they are. Shall we?

And then, shall we stop doing that and contribute to the sales pitch relief effort in the US?

About the Author: Kim Klaver is Harvard and Stanford educated.
You may want to consider writing articles about your website's topic. This is a great way to demonstrate your expertise and credibility and at the same time allows you to build your reputation and your brand. It establishes yourself as an expert in your field and increases your exposure on the internet. You also increase the number of one way links to your website which in turn helps your website in the search results. If the readers of your articles on other sites click through to your site, you gain targeted traffic.

How did I find this out? I am not a genius - just like you trying to do the best I can. The first thing I did was a great deal of research and found the best results I came up with were from my favorite ebook superstore cbdeluxe - there is a wealth of information on there to help you. Some of the writing tips I picked up were these - Try to stay away from making your article into a sales pitch. Most of your readers will be able to distinguish a sales pitch right away. Once they figure out they are reading another sales pitch they will quickly click off - Don't use too many hyperlinks within the article body and stick to only one in the author bio section - which would you rather have, 1 article with 1 outgoing link to your website that gets picked up by 1,000 webmasters or 1 article with 10 outgoing links that gets picked up by 10 webmasters? - check and re-check and then check again for typos and grammatical errors.

Write articles that complement the topic of your website. Write about what you know not something totally unrelated to your website, remember to want to establish credibility and expertise. Do not place a copyright notice at the top of your article. This may cause webmasters to stay away from posting your articles on their website and in their newsletters. It is a very good idea to write completely new content for your articles. Most writers just copy and paste parts of their websites and put them into articles. I truly believe you should come up with totally new content for your articles.

The number of articles you write really depends on you and what you want to achieve. If you are competing in a highly competitive field then you have got your work cut out for you - that's if they are great at it. If not, your road to writing is much shorter. Writing articles can bring many benefits that is sure to benefit you. As I mentioned earlier I found help on the ebook superstore cbdeluxe and so can you.
Marketing your business is an very costly activity so making the most of the business growth you can achieve through word of mouth is vital. It's not just about talking about your business either, it's much more scientific than and also much more structured.

Business networking is a massive growth sector and regular clubs and events are taking place all over the country. At it's most elementary, networking is about expanding your contacts, on a more formal level It's all about working with a group of people that you get to know, like and trust and as a result they feel happy to refer their business partners to you and vice versa.

The reason this method succeeds is that it builds upon people's inherent desire to help others. When you know like and trust someone you are all too willing to recommend them to others and in this way you are not only helping the person with the product or service you are helping the person who has problem to be solved.

If you are passed a referral you know you have more than a tentative sales lead. You have a `warmed up' contact who has a need for your service and who is expecting your call. Because you have been recommended already you are more than half way there with getting the business.

It sounds great, and it is but there are still skills to be learned. If you are going to make the most of your networking referrals you've got to make sure that you get the right referrals. After all there's no point in somebody recommending your printing services if you're a graphic designer. What's really important with business networking is to get your pitch right so that all your networking partners truly understand what you do.

There are two related techniques to master, one is your "elevator pitch" and the other is your "sixty seconds". Fully understand these two concepts and fine tune your pitch in each situation and you're well on the way to getting the precious referrals that you need to develop your business.

Your elevator pitch refers to those first few words you speak when someone asks you what you do. It's vital to get this one right especially when speed networking so you've got to achieve three key results:-

1. Hook in your contacts so they do actually listen to what you're saying. 2. Make sure that you are clearly understood. 3. Make sure that you are remembered!

Preparation is the key, keep it short, go for one key message and make it interesting. Focus on what you `do' versus what you `are,' in other wards `I help people by=85' versus ` I am a=85'

Say enough to elicit a question from your listener - once you've done this you're well on the way, after that it's up to you to present your service and your passion in the way that only you know how.

Sixty seconds refers to a more formal pitch that's often an agenda item at many business networking clubs. In essence it's an elongated version of your elevator pitch but there's more to it and you need to treat it as an extension of public speaking so different skills are required.

Again preparation is the key to making the most out of your minute in the spotlight so prepare well and make sure that your message is clear. The fundamental point though is keep to time! If you drone on, your audience will lose interest in you and your services and when it comes to time after the meeting everyone's going to steer clear of you. If you can, make it amusing, after all the objective is still the same, you want people to remember you.

There's lot's more to be said about these two fundamentals to effective word of mouth marketing but hopefully this will set you on your way to making the most out of the most cost effective method of developing your business. <bio>Passionate networker Louise Yates shares business networking tips and advice for word of mouth marketing, generating referrals and sales leads at http://www.business-networking-techniques.com and executive coaching for business performance, life and career development at http://www.clear-perspective </bio>

Have you been noticing lately that after you have put on a fresh set of guitar strings, and rock out your favorite guitar riffs for awhile, that the strings just don't hold their tune very long? The reason for this is because new strings need to be properly stretched out. There are a few extra steps that need to be taken when you change your guitar strings.

Proper Steps to Stretching Your Guitar Strings

1. After you have finished putting on the new strings, start with the 6th string (Low E) and tune it to the proper pitch.

Helpful Tip: When you tune a brand new set of strings, it is suggested that you use an electric guitar tuner. This especially goes for beginners who are not able to recognize the correct tone by ear. Plus it ensures that you get an accurate tune.

2. Next, take your fretting hand (left hand) and hold the string down at the first fret.

3. Now take your your right hand and gently pull up on the string at the fourth or fifth fret. Keeping this same method, start to work your way up the fretboard. At the same time you should keep your hands about three to four frets apart.

4. Once you have gone all the way down the sting, it will be out of pitch. You need to then return it back to the proper pitch and repeat the same process a few times.

5. After you have got the Low E string in tune, move on to the 5th string and so forth.

The gage of your strings will determine just how many repetitions will be needed. However, after each pass you will notice that the string will hold its tune longer each time. Once the pitch remains constant and accurate, this will let you know that you have properly stretched the string <bio>Josh Scalf is an experienced guitarist that offers advice for the aspiring guitar player.
1) ALWAYS top-down sell. I can't say how many time's I've observed someone loosing more revenue simply because they didn't ask for the max subscription or term of their product/service. You'll find not all customers are concerned about prices since they can use what they spend with you as a tax break on their business.

2) Start the pitch with a larger value products and if we can't close the big sale, follow up with a smaller product.

3) Get into the habit of not using the word 'hundred' when giving a customer a price. Hundred has a 'large amount' connotation to it. Rather than saying 'one hundred and nineteen dollars and 50 cents.'

Use: It's ONLY one-nineteen fifty for the year.' And follow up with features, functions and benefits of multi-year/unit purchasing.

4) Set your sights and expectations high! Imagine yourself where you want to be at the end of the day and that's where you be!

5) ALWAYS break down price to the smallest metrics. Example: Describe a hosting package as $9.96/month initially.

6) Handling resistance is the key to successful sales. ALWAYS handle resistance on multiple terms and initial sales pitches. If everyone always took NO for an answer then no one would be meeting their goals. You'd be surprised how many customers change their minds after they here the benefits of a product.

7) A sale is happening on every call. Either a customer is selling you on a reason not to buy, or you're selling them on the reasons why they should be buying.

8) Stay away from words/terms such as MORE, EXPENSIVE or COST when relaying the price of a product to the customer. Always precede a price by the word ONLY, even if it's a price like $4,454.90.

9) Using a customer's name throughout a sales pitch can help build rapport and create a more positive experience. Although it may seem simple, you'd be surprised how it can change the tone of a conversion. EXAMPLE: 'Jim, do you know how much are you paying for this service with [company name]

10) Every customer has dynamic needs so we must make our pitches dynamic. Stay away from 'canned' or repetitious pitches. Imagine what your needs are in your everyday life. Let's say you play guitar and you just pick up a brand new one. You think it's the best guitar you've ever played and you tell your friends about how great it is. You're not trying to sell it to them, but the conversion itself is fluid and pushes the features, functions and benefits of the guitar. They in turn may end up buying it if the time comes.

Remember, you have to act like your not selling anything to the customer, but recommending to the client. You are simply there to help them find the right solution. Nobody is going to buy anything, they are simply going to reflect on the recommendation they received. Always remember, sales is not the word. recommending is. Your goal is making them believe your helping them, not pressuring them. But don't be to passive. Some aggression is needed to succeed. <bio>For more sales articles visit my free sales tips website: http://www.callcentersalestips.com/ </bio>

I am going to teach you a few golf club basics. If you are new to the game of golf then you probably have no idea how many clubs or what type of clubs you need in order to play a round of golf much less the proper use for the various clubs that exist. This is a tutorial of sorts to help you learn a little bit about the clubs you will find in your bag.

Golf clubs are generally divided into four classifications: fairway woods, irons, wedges, and putters. There are many different varieties, brands, and optional bells and whistles that can along with each of these don't get lost in the details when purchasing clubs. If you ever hope to play in tournaments, it's best if you learn to play with clubs that are tournament approved. That way you aren't hindering your performance in tournaments by needing to learn new clubs.

If you are playing according to typical tournament rules you can have no more than 14 clubs in your bag. While there are no firm rules on which clubs you should have in your bag, the traditional clubs are 3 woods, 8 irons, 2 wedges, and a putter. Once a tournament has begun you cannot change the clubs that are in your bag.

1) There are three basic fairway woods that are used in tournaments. These clubs offer greater distance with the least amount of control. The three woods used in tournaments are traditionally the one wood, which is also called the driver, the three wood, and the 5 wood. You will want to practice driving with each of these on the driving range and get a feel for their distance and control as there are times when each of these will be a good idea for your golf game.

2) There are basically 8 irons that will be used in tournament golf. The number for irons begins at 2 and goes sequentially up to 9. The 2 iron has the least amount of pitch with each subsequent iron having a little more pitch. Pitch allows you to control the ball to some degree upon landing. The higher the pitch, the more control you are capable of having.

3) You will normally see two wedges in a tournament golf bag. The pitching wedge and the sand wedge. The pitching wedge has a 50-degree pitch to it and an excellent amount of control once the ball lands. Even better than the pitching wedge however is the pitch of a sand wedge. These wedges have a 55-degree pitch and excellent control.

4) Your putter is going to be a completely individual decision. No one can tell you the putter that is going to work best for you. We all want different things in our putter and if there was a magic in the hole putter, we'd all have one.

This is a very general guide of golf clubs and what a tournament bag will probably have in it. Keep in mind that you want your bag to hold the clubs that work best for you and that once again, there is no one size fits all in the world of golf. Happy golfing! <bio>Edward Charkow is the administrator for Improving Golf.
You would think it was the other way around but successful at home telemarketers would beg to differ. The vision of anyone who starts his or her own venture or company is that one day -- the business will be self running and assets will be working to make money for them. This should be applied to any sort of business; no matter how low it is in the rung of the capitalist ladder -- because that sort of vision will give it the ballast it needs to climb to the top. Making home telemarketing work for you is not that difficult, just adhere to some simple principles that will make the business of selling that much easier.

The pitch, sales copy, carrier design, presentation. This is all part and parcel of a sale. Big companies who go into a pitch will put on their best suits, have a presentation that will wow their prospective clients ready, are focused, synergetic and have a speech that has been honed, perfected over hours of coffee and sandwiches. Just transpose those ideals of business into telemarketing. How your product is designed, branded and packages are important factors -- because it is the appearance and the features of the product that first catches the eyes and minds of your consumers. The sales copy, or in the case of tele marketing, the pitch should have been practiced at least a few dozen times before tested on the field. The process of perfecting and tweaking the pitch should never be stopped, once you gain new feedback, understand the psychology on your customers and the dynamics of a transactional conversation. You will find that selling becomes a much easier job when all this aspects of marketing have been honed and when it finally comes naturally to you the next time you answer a call or dial a prospective client.

The product or service itself is important as well. It should be working as hard as you to sell itself. This isn't one of those 'enlargement' email spam ads everyone gets in the mail -- regardless of their gender. When the product speaks -- it must converse in a language of selling, it must both seduce all who come across it and create intrigue to find out more. The product must lead and gently guide the individual, turning him from a passer-by, to a curious bystander and finally the potential client you can talk to. There shouldn't be one aspect of your business that isn't working to promote and generate leads and sales.

This is also true of business lists. Getting your hands on a defined list that features highly targeted individuals is something everyone needs to make home telemarketing work for you. Why flounder around digital cul de sacs looking for names and phone numbers or gamble with the volatility of free databases put together without care or knowledge of your product? Don't be caught in a quagmire, invest in a few lists and you will see your profits coming in with better frequency and the amount of leads will definitely increase. The rest is pretty much up to you.<bio>Chris Burns is an authority on mailing list services providing valuable advice at http://www.MailingListsUSA.com where you can learn more about Business Mailing Lists. Click Here to learn more about the services that he provides.</bio>

That is up to you to decide.

Please understand this is not a scientifically conducted experiment. I have been a member of two different List Building Programs for several months now. I got in on the startup of one and joined one that was already established.

I have been sending email (since I can't possibly build any rapport with a list that it takes me about a year if not longer to send an email to everyone on it) to these two list twice per week since I joined. I have used sales letter type email and articles with a byline.

I have to admit on the startup list I got a reasonable response from the first 2 emails I sent out as far as click thru is concerned. In sales I probably got back about half of what it cost to join the list program. Since the first two emails my response has been so low that it doesn't pay for the time it takes to send the email.

I decided a few weeks ago to try a little experiment. I use the following email on both list.

Subject line: No Sales Pitch, Just Hello

Hi [first name]

I usually send an add or sales pitch on something. This time I thought I would say hello to all that read this. I am not sure about you but I have very little luck with this type of mailing list. When it first started I think a lot of people were reading their email but now I think you are lucky if 2 in a hundred are reading it.

I would really like to hear some opinions from you on this. Do you have much if any response with this list? If you would care to respond to this send your email to meditatingmind@yahoo.com with My Opinion (in the other I said requested opinion) in the subject line.

If you don't put My Opinion in the subject line I will most likely delete it without reading it. Like most of you I get enough sales letters from list I signup for without getting 50 a day for things I have little interest in.

I sent this email out three separate times. On the new list I receives .0031% response rate. On the established list I received a .0013% response rate. If you are sending an email to 100,000 people a response rate of .0031 would get you 310 clicks. With a reasonable sales rate of 6% you would make 18.6 sales.

I think most people are like me and send to approximately 1500 people per email sequence. That would give you a 4.65% click rate and .275% sales rate. This means you would have to have a very high sales rate (25%) or you would get 1 sale every 4 mailings.

These numbers are based on the best rate of return I received on two programs.

One other thing that may be of Interest to you is that from the responses I received it appeared that everyone that responded to my email was new to the list.

In my humble opinion, for the average marketer, your response rate for the entire year will not add up to what one effective article sent out to the top 10 article sites would bring you. Writing one good article or even paying someone to write it for you would put you way ahead of the game. It would save you time and money.

This of course is just my opinion. I would really love to have some statistics from some of you on what type of click thru and sales rate you are getting from the list building programs you are associated with.

I will post this article on my blog at http://www.wealthmentor.thejv-press.com .
In the world of marketing there are lots of little tricks of the trade that will enable you to get the most out of your products, and you can learn many of them by visiting other people's sites.

One example of this relates to customer sign ups. How many times have you been surfing the internet, seen something advertised and clicked through to find yourself looking at a completely different site to where you first started?

If you've clicked through via a Google advert you will often end up on what is known as a sales page. These are normally advertising the latest book or course written by a marketing guru. They consist of the normal selling techniques and lots of previous customer testimonials praising either the guru themselves or their product (or more often both).

Once they have drawn you in with clever copywriting, which has you believing you too can change your life as easily as they did, they then clinch the deal by offering you this amazing product.

Not for a price, but for free.

By this time all but the most skeptical of people have been won over and are chomping at the bit to be told how they can get their hands on this amazing freebie. Normally this requires your first name (so they can now personalize their correspondence to you) and your email address, plus a button which you click in order to receive your free product.

This will also put you on their mailing list, once you've confirmed your request to receive any future information they wish to send you.

When you've clicked this button a cool little marketing trick comes into play. Instead of being directed straight to your free download page, you are redirected to another sales page. This time however it is aimed directly at you. You are now introduced to a one time exclusive deal, a never to be seen again offer which is altogether too good to be passed up.

This time the sales pitch is slightly harder, but there are still plenty of customer testimonials to read, not to mention several pictures of what house or car your guru of choice had before and after they discovered the secret this product reveals. This is a generalization, of course, but it gives you an idea of what to expect from these well crafted sales pages.

And at the bottom of this very long page you discover this product has a price.

Normally the price is quickly glossed over by a full ninety day money back guarantee and the inclusion of half a dozen free bonuses (sometimes many more, and often valued at thousands of dollars) if you accept the offer. This is what savvy sellers use to bring in more sales.

What they are banking on is that you will get caught up in the one time exclusive, never to be seen again sales pitch and buy this product now, instead of scrolling through it all and hitting the button which says "No thanks Bob, I know I will never have this opportunity again" and going straight to your intended freebie download page.

We humans don't like to miss out on a bargain. By using these techniques to create your own sales pages, you could soon experience a pleasant surge in sales yourself. <bio>Omaro Ailoch is a senior software engineer, an entrepreneur and the founder of OC IT Services http://www.ocitservices.com a highly skilled California based web development design and search engine optimization firm. </bio>

Have you ever been to a networking event and asked someone, much to your regret what they do, and half an hour later you are still standing there nodding your head feigning interest and wondering why you even bothered getting out of bed?

It has happened to us all...but the trick is not to be one of those offenders ourselves. Not only will you switch off those people you talk to but you will get zero chance of business as a result.

So what is an elevator pitch and what are the biggest pitfalls you can fall into?

Firstly an elevator pitch refers to those first few words you speak when someone asks you 'So, what do you do?'

You therefore have to do 3 things:

Engage your listener(s) so they do actually listen to what you have to say
Ensure that you convey the message you want so the listener understands you
Ensure that what you say is remembered

Remember you only get one opportunity to make a first impression so your elevator pitch is something you should spend time planning, practicing and testing.

So what are the biggest pitfalls you can fall into when delivering your elevator pitch?

Talking too long

This is probably the most common mistake. When someone first asks you what you do you don't need to go into the minutia of who you are, what you do, where and when you do it, and how you do it...reserve that for the follow on questions if the person is interested.

Instead be short and concise (generally 10 seconds is about right) giving a very brief overview of what you do.

Focusing on what you are rather than what you actually do

Tell someone you are an accountant, at best they will politely say 'oh right' at worst will yawn and think 'not another!' Focus instead on what you do in other words how you help to save people money on their tax bill, help grow their business and you may have a willing ear wanting to find out more.

Telling them everything

You might have several businesses or be involved in different types of work but trying to explain all at once is confusing and gives mixed messages.

Instead focus on one area that you think is of most relevance to the person you are talking too, so they are left with no doubt in their mind as to what you do.

Being a bore

People's time is precious so being boring isn't going to endear you to those you meet especially when they have a choice perhaps of 100 others to speak with. A bore may earn that title if they are repetitious, talk too long, focus on themselves as a person or show little regard to needs of the person they are talking to.

So think what you have to say that will be of genuine interest to the other person so they value the time spent talking with you, and again, keep it concise. Even consider using props to help you stand out from the crowd or an interesting business card which will help you be remembered.

Using jargon

Have you had those conversations with people who know exactly what they are talking about but clearly haven't registered that you don't? Many people get carried away with their own technical terms or abbreviations that only those in the profession have heard of.

Consider who you are talking to, establish their own experience in your field and tailor your language accordingly.

Avoiding these pitfalls

Your elevator pitch is something you should prepare and practise carefully, and tailored according to the networking event you are attending. Be prepared to experiment to see what works and get feedback from your friends and colleagues.<bio>Passionate networker Louise Yates shares business networking tips and business networking information for word of mouth marketing, generating referrals and sales leads.
