If you like country music then there is nowhere else in the world you can enjoy as much as Nashville, Tennessee and the Grand Ole Opry. The Grand Ole Opry is a mainstay of this city known as the "home of country music" and anytime you go you are guaranteed to see a mixture of current country music stars, legends, and new artists trying to break into the business.

The best way to get tickets to the Grand Ole Opry is to buy them on the website early. This means that you can get the best tickets that are up close to the action and you can really see all that is going on. If you wait until you are actually in Nashville to buy your tickets for the Grand Ole Opry you may find yourself out of luck or else in the very back. Anywhere you sit in the Grand Ole Opry is a great place, but the best view is up close!

Any time of year is a great time to visit the Grand Ole Opry, but if you visit during non traditional vacation times you are sure to have an easier time getting tickets not to mention you won't need to deal with the crowds. The Grand Ole Opry is Nashville's biggest attraction so everyone is trying to get tickets at the same time, which makes it a bit of a challenge sometimes if you wait until the last minute.

The Opry is open on Tuesday nights starting in March and continues on Friday and Saturday the rest of the year. The Opry starts at different times each night and there are two shows on Saturday.

Country music icons like Hank Williams Sr., Ernest Tubbs, and Pasty Cline sang at the Opry and today their legends carry on with new singers and stars. Today's country music singers enjoy singing at the Opry as much their ancestors did and visitors really love the show and the entertainment!

But, the Grand Ole Opry isn't just country music. It is also a mix of gospel, comedy, bluegrass, today's hits and more. The Grand Ole Opry is located at the Grand Ole Opry House but was located for years in the Ryman Auditorium and before that in other locations in Nashville. The Grand Ole Opry has really been a success in Nashville and it is the best place to go if you are in Nashville !

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W.
After a day on the slopes, you may be wondering what there is to do for the rest of the evening. Well, don't use up all of your energy, and leave the slopes early enough to get in a short nap -- you will need all of the energy you can muster for the Aspen nightlife. No matter how much skiing you get in or how many of the runs you have mastered, you have not truly experienced Aspen until you venture out after dark!

Aspen has three basic areas: downtown, the West end, and the East end. The town is remarkably small, considering how many people venture here each season -- but surprisingly, everyone and everything just fits. The town is actually small enough to leave your car parked at your lodge or hotel and walk anywhere that you want to go. In fact, this is recommended.

Not everyone pays heed to this advice, which can make driving around and parking very difficult. You can also take a free shuttle from one mountain to another, take the Roaring Fork Transit Authority Bus, or go to the Rubey Park Transportation Center to get a ride anywhere in the valley.

Don't worry about getting lost. The town is well laid out. Starting on the West end, you will find a quiet Victorian neighborhood. While this is a residential district, where locals live, you will also find many hotels and condos on the West end, particularly on Main Street. You will also find the Aspen Meadows Conference Center and Hotel. This is a 40-acre area where you will also find the Aspen Institute, the Music Tent, the Harris Concert Hall, the Paepcke Auditorium, the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, the Hallam Lake Nature Preserve, and the Aspen Center for Physics.

In the East end of Aspen you will find another residential area, as well as the Roaring Fork River and the Aspen Club and Spa. The East end features more forests than the West end, which has been developed a great deal more. Between the West End and the East End, you will find downtown Aspen. Downtown is where most of the action is. Featuring old Victorian buildings, downtown Aspen boasts pubs, restaurants, shops, and everything else you could ever possibly need -- all housed in beautiful historical landmark buildings.

Down the valley a ways, you will find Snowmass Village. To the west, you will also find Roaring Fork Valley. These two villages are compliments of Aspen, and you should take the time to visit them as well. <bio>Burt Cotton http://www.discover-aspen.com </bio>

Travelling to South Africa? Well, you're going to Cape Town, right? And you want to see if you can get the Big 5? Here's something that's better than Cape Town. Better than the Big 5. And it's the Drakensberg Boys' Choir.

There are quite a few things that are unique or world class in South Africa, and the Drakensberg Boys' Choir is one of them.

Doors opened in 1965 to the first 20 pupils. The dream was of a multi-racial, multi-cultural Choir School to rival the Vienna Boys.

Not in the middle of a history-rich, ancient European city. But in the boondocks. In a beautiful, rural, sparsely populated valley in the Drakensberg Mountains of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. The first and only one of its kind on the continent.

Today the annual intake is 100 boys between 9 and 15, and auditions are held nation-wide.

Can you think of anything more sublime than crisp, mountain air, majestic mountains, azure skies and natural beauty as far as the eye can see, complemented by the pure tones of counter-tenor harmony?

The Drakensberg Boys' Choir tours overseas every year and is internationally recognized as one of the best in the world. And they aren't just holier that thou brats either -- after hours they're into rapids tubing, abseiling and hiking in their Drakensberg paradise. They work hard and play hard.

Be prepared for diversity. If you like a good dirge, stay away. The Drakensberg Boys' Choir has very catholic tastes. The first half of the concert is classical. You might hear Bach or Beethoven or Mozart. The second half can be anything. It could be Queen. (Freddie Mercury would have loved it). Or folk, or jazz, or sacred music. Or African harmonies you've never heard before that will bring tears to your eyes.

Come with tissues. And a jersey, for the goosebumps. But whatever you do, BE THERE. The Drakensberg Boys' Choir performs most Wednesdays during term time at 3.30 p.m. There is a world class auditorium on campus.

So if you're coming to South Africa -- sure Cape Town's good and you need the Big 5. But you really shouldn't miss this. Sublime Drakensberg experience! <bio>Brian and Janette Kemp own http://www.hallscountryhouse.com, a 4-star retreat in the foothills of the http://www.hallscountryhouse.com/drakensberg.html in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. </bio>

It is indeed a war scene, without the weapons, blasts and the fire!

Ten years ago, the scientists and the researchers never thought in their wildest imagination that birds could lead to such a crisis. Birds were the delight of the bards on the one side and the meat-eaters on the other side! They accepted the butcher's knife for too long a time and now they are in a mood to send the human race to the graves!

What would be the world scenario like in the event of the outbreak of the bird flu pandemic?

It staggers one's imagination! The lifestyles will change. The dress code will change. Men, women and children will look like Spiderman, with their masks. Public areas will be deserted areas. Schools and colleges will suspend their operations.

It is not the wild guess in a fiction. It is the real life situation. Large corporate clients are getting the blue prints ready and work on their contingent plans. They wish to ascertain from their suppliers, whether they would be in a position to continue/augment their supplies in case of the break out of bird flu pandemic.

There are certain situations in which your government will come to your help, but there are also certain situations where you need to help the government. Bird flu pandemic is possibly one such situation.

Constructive dynamism would be the need of the hour. The spread of the pandemic virus must be halted. Kids need to be educated about the do's and don'ts. It is desirable not to touch the railings, railings in the parks and schools and even the buses. Avoid sitting, playing and sleeping on the park benches.
Choosing which of the Canary Islands to visit is a real dilemma for the winter break tourist. All of the main seven islands, that are located just off the north African coastline, share similar climates, but the major differences lie in the way each of these islands has grown up and the level of urban development progression in each. Some of the resorts on these islands have their roots back in the 1950's and so exhibit some dated and, for some, unattractive architecture while the resorts that have only recently gained popularity boast modern developments that are more pleasing on the eye.

For the winter traveller who is looking for more than just a beach holiday (and the islands can certainly provide that) there are a host of other attractions from 15th century Spanish settlements, a number of spectacular national parks and a wide choice of art and culture to satisfy a range of tastes. On Lanzarote its most famous resident, artist Cesar Manrique, has left his impression all over the island with his distinctive style of sculpture, architecture and painting. The artist was sadly killed in a car accident on the island of Lanzarote in 1992 but has left his mark following his enthusiastic pursuit of sympathetic planning regulations resulting in a lack of high rise development on the island. His work reflects an acceptable form of modern functional design and includes the spectacular viewpoint at Mirador del Rio and the amazing Jameos del Agua, a cave system transformed by Manrique into an auditorium and breathtaking swimming pool and gardens. The excellent acoustic properties of the auditorium see it hosting several events including shows, concerts and regular discos.

Falling under the same administration as Lanzarote, Gran Canaria is one of the larger islands in the group and accordingly has a more established urban buzz and city feel. That's not to say it is not attractive as a resort for many visitors. A cheap flight to Gran Canaria in the off-peak season should be affordable enough to make it a suitable destination for a weekend city break. It has a varied selection of all the elements of city life including culture, restaurants, bars and clubs. The city also has a very important marina development given its location and it plays host to frequent regattas.

Gran Canaria has developed in popularity largely because of its amazingly mild climate. The temperature barely leaves the 20-30 degrees centigrade range making it pleasantly warm but never too hot. The trade winds bring pleasant breezes to create a comfortable environment for sightseers and sportspeople alike. In fact the sport of windsurfing has seen Gran Canaria establish itself as one of the world's most favoured destinations for top surfers. There a re plenty of sheltered location for newcomers to the sport but the more experienced are likely to head for Pozo Isquierdo where powerful winds provide all the thrills and challenges the best in the sport demand.

For British holidaymakers, the island of Tenerife has been a favourite ever since the 1950's. It's the largest of the Canaries and has seen its fair share of development which is still ongoing. The resorts being built now offer some of the highest quality amenities you will find anywhere in the island group. There are waterparks and golf courses, diving and sail bases. The island is now also home to many Brits who have chosen to live there permanently. Again the climate and abundance of frequent flights to several UK airports make it an easy choice compared to other ex-pat destinations like southern Spain which don't boast the same constant mild weather.

For the traveller who favours more a natural attraction rather then the bustle of establish tourist traps, the less well-known island of La Gomera provides an refreshing alternative as it is home to one of the best preserved laurisilva forests or humid sub-tropical laurel forests. The evergreen hardwood trees grow to height of up to 40m and harbor a wealth of endemic plant and animal species. Many forests of this type in the world have been devastated by logging activities so La Gomera provides one of the most accessible locations to experience these rare natural features.

So a flight to the Canaries can be a gateway to a mild winter break, a trip to visit friends and relatives or the start to a trip full of exciting natural and cultural experiences.<bio>The Canary Islands offer many choices and articles by Dan Williams cover everything including flights to Lanzarote and flights to Tenerife to help holidaymakers find economic travel arrangements.</bio>

I thought of an incident in college many years ago.A wellknown speaker was giving a lecture in the auditorium.Since I had enough time before the lecture started, I decided to get a cup of coffee in the cafeteria.I was enjoying my coffee at a table in the corner when a man walked up to me and asked,"May I join you?"

I replied, "Of course," as he sat down. Our conversation had lasted for about an hour.I wished I could go back to that scene for just a short while.

Gideon said, "Let's go and see your college incident again."

He had hardly spoken the words when I was overcomeby an enormous swirling sensation. When it stopped, I looked around. Imaginemy surprise to find myself and Gideon standing in the college cafeteria of long ago. Other students were standing around and I began to worry about how I would explain our presence when Gideon said,"Don't worry. They can't see or hear us. You're visiting another time. They'll only be able to see us if we want them to. It's better this way at first."

He led me to a small table across from where we were standing. Two people were drinking coffee. Somehow, they seemed familiar.

"Don't you know who those people are, John?" asked Gideon.

I looked a bit closer and was amazed to realize that the younger man was me=97not me as I am today, but the me I was many years ago in college. There I sat as a college student=97 much younger and thinner, without the gray in my hair=97sipping coffee with another man."We're looking back in time, John," Gideon said. "That's the event you were thinking of when we left your present-time situation. Do you recognize the other man ? Don't you remember that he came to your table and sat with you for a while before he went on to give his lecture?"

"That was Dr. Martin Luther King! I didn't know it when he first sat down, but by the end of our conversation,he revealed who he was."

"Do you recall the effect his conversation had on you?"

"How could I ever forget? The compassion and the vision of that man! I'll always remember that."

"You see,we canvisit events from the past and observe, remember and learn from them."

Fascinated, I stood there watching and listening in on their conversation. Finally Gideon said, "It's time for us to leave here and go on to another time and place."

A thought struck me."Could we have participated in their conversation, Gideon? I mean, the me of then and the me of now conversing with each other?"

"Yes=97but there are certain rules one has to observe. For now, let's go."

To read the rest of the story visit http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com <bio>Lecturer, entrepreneur and MBA business consultant, John Harricharan is the author of the award-winning book, "When You Can Walk on Water, Take the Boat."
All of us as children played with them, whether is be sock puppets, hand puppets, or wooden puppets. They have been around for quite some time, centuries even. The most popular of the puppets are marionette string puppets. Children love to play with their life-like forms and are able to use their imagination extensively. Even adults have been known to enjoy marionette style puppets.

When you walk down the street, many times you see entertainers with string puppets acting out scenes, dancing or singing. A lot of times, crowds form around and even pay the entertainer. You might have found yourself lingering around to see the end of the act. Schools also utilize puppets to educate children about different things. Maybe when you were growing up, you can remember seeing a few in the cafeteria or auditorium. Many of the string puppet acts are funny and few children actually know that they're learning from the play.

When you turn on the television, many channels, like PBS, have shows based entirely on string puppets. Children love to see the wooden figures dancing around and moving, often times in awe of how a person could make it do the things is does.

Marionettes have many types of string puppets from cowboys, leprechauns, pirates, princesses, Pinocchio, and other familiar characters from shows and storybooks. Having a string puppet allows you to speak and get through to your children in ways you could never achieve. Children tend to listen to an artificial character than a parent. Some people use stuffed animals or string puppets, using their voices, to tell their children to eat their vegetables or to go to sleep early. Children are na=EFve and enjoy the acts of puppets.

Some people have grown up with such entertainment and some have used string puppets to entertain others. It allows you to be creative and express yourselves without all of the effort of having to have many people involved. Most puppet acts only consist of one or two people, making all of the voices and using both hands to move a puppet in each. Instead of accumulating a lot of people for a people-based show, you can purchase marionette string puppets and play out the scenes that way. Many people will look at you as talented since not many individuals have the skills to multi-task in such a way.

Prices for wooden marionette puppets are very low-cost, allowing anyone to get it as a gift for another or for yourself. Prices are just under $20.00. It's very affordable and long lasting, so it is well worth your money. Kids love those puppets and it will help you to interact with your children; either you perform for them or they for you. Parents and children can explore their imaginations and collaborate effectively, educating one another in the mix. You may see a side of your child that you never knew existed and you get the chance to play out informational scenes for them. Marionette wooden string puppets are a win-win situation for all! <bio>Marina Neiman, author and mother of two, writes for http://www.1888Toys.com Children Educational Toys Store, featuring classic toys with truly developmental value.
Today all the needed factors and the all the useful information about the appliances like the hidden cameras, the spy cameras or many other cameras is readily presented on the websites which we can get if we surf it through the internet. It is true that these days when we have such good sources of information and even we are fortunate that we have such exceptional devices, then taking the routine decisions of any business would not be very difficult, rather it has become very handy and suitable if such information is easily available at hand with just a flick of a button. To improve our working trends of the modern business and for a new future we ought to make use of the revolutionary devices like the hidden cameras, the CCTV cameras, the spy cameras so that all the sophisticated work becomes moderately easy.

I have auditorium where dance classes are regularly conducted from morning 9 o'clock to evening 6 o'clock every day with different batches. Many children come here to learn dances. Everything goes perfectly alright and there are almost 6-8 dance teachers who come here to teach various types of dances all the day through out. Since a few days ago, some of the parents have started complaining that their children are not learning the dance as they should learn and they are just wasting their time during the class hours and they were even complain that some of the teachers were not concentrating on their work and even trying to tease the girl learners. I was very upset with such obtuse deeds of the dance teachers with their students. I immediately wanted to take action against the trouble makers and wanted to dismiss them form their work. So I decided to install a spy camera in the premises where the dance classes taken place. I bought a Wall clock hidden camera and set the clock on the wall of the location where the classes were being conducted every day. No one could suspect that there was a hidden camera installed inside the clock. This clock is very attractive and designed in a classy style and it comes with a one year guarantee with a complete power supply. The camera is very advantageously fitted on the clock face that no one will be able to assume that there might be a hidden camera fixed in it very expertly. Now after this Clock hidden camera was installed then all the actions of the teacher who was playing a nuisance with the female learners were caught and he was immediately suspended from his job. I am excited that I have taken a sensible decision and started making use of the hidden camera so that in future also I will be easily able to spy the trouble makers who might try to create disturbances in my dance classes. Now I was pleased that all my students will be concentrating on their dance practices rather than wasting their precious time simply with idling here and there because of one teacher.<bio>for hidden spy cam and for information on micro spy nanny cam Please visit:http://www.my-spycam.com</bio>

You go to church every Sunday and you say your prayers every day. Does this mean you are a spiritual person?

No.

You practice yoga and meditate every day. Does this mean you are a spiritual person?

No.

You belong to spiritual group and are devoted to following the teachings of the group. Does this mean you are a spiritual person?

No.

What, then, does it mean to be a spiritual person?

Being a spiritual person is synonymous with being a person whose highest priority is to be loving to oneself and others. A spiritual person cares about people, animals, and the planet. A spiritual person knows that we are all one, and consciously attempts to honor this oneness. A spiritual person is a kind person.

So, you can go to church every Sunday and say your prayers every day, without caring about loving yourself, others and the planet. You can practice yoga and meditate every day without being conscious of what is loving and what is not loving in your thoughts and actions. You can belong to a spiritual group and devotedly follow the teachings, yet still be judgmental toward yourself and others in your daily life.

There are many people who do not practice a religion, who do not meditate, pray or belong to any group, who are very spiritual people. These people naturally do caring things for others. They think about how they can help. Their thoughts are kind rather than judgmental toward themselves and toward others. When you look at them, you see their kindness in their eyes.

There are many religious people who are anything but kind. We all know of religious people who are extremely judgmental, righteous, and outright mean. Can you be both religious and spiritual? Of course! But only when you are operating in your religion from your heart rather than from the learned dogma of your mind.

Years ago I very briefly attended a "spiritual" group. People would meet in an auditorium to hear the leader of the group speak. The second time I attended I heard a number of parents yelling at their children and judging them to try to control them. These parents were being anything but kind with their children. That was the last time I attended the spiritual group. The focus of the group was surrender to God, but love was rarely in the picture! They obviously had a very different experience of God than I did.

My experience of God is that God is the energy of Love that created us and sustains us. In my experience, "God is Spirit" (John 4:24) and "God is love" (1 John 4:16). Anything that is not of love, peace, joy, truth and kindness is not of God. Praying to God does not mean that you are allowing the spirit that is God - the love, peace, joy, truth and kindness that is God - to guide your thoughts and actions. Practicing yoga or meditating does not mean that you have invited the love that is God into your heart, or that you are turning to that ever-present love to learn about what is in your highest good, and the highest good of others and the planet.

If you want to be a spiritual person, then let kindness be your guiding light - kindness toward yourself, toward others, toward animals, and toward this beautiful planet that is our home. Recognize that we all have the spark of love that is God within us, and learn to honor that love so that you can know and experience the Oneness of all that is. <bio>Margaret Paul, Ph.D., best-selling author of eight books, including "Do I Have To Give Up Me To Be Loved By You" and co-creator of the powerful Inner Bonding healing process. The people are friendly and always willing to help you out. The restaurants and nightclubs are always perfect for a meal and a drink or two. It is the best place to vacation any time of the year.

The island has so many beautiful attractions some of which were created by the popular artist Caesar Manrique. The house that this artist built is magnificent. The home was built into volcanic bubbles, five of them. This amazing creation is something to see. It has been so popular that the famous Omar Sharif had the artist built him a home almost like this one. The home draws visitors from all over the world. The Sharif creation was lost in a bridge game and is now property to someone lese on the island. The artist created many different things on the island.

Timanfaya Volcano Park is another incredible place to visit. The coach tour of the area is well worth the time. It is amazing to see what the volcano did to the area and what was left afterwards. The eruption of the volcano lasted for six years. It did make a notable difference in the area. The Devil's Diner is located here and has some great tasting foods. The food is cooked with the heat of the volcano. The diner is situated as such that it gives you a beautiful view of the park. You cannot see anything like this anywhere else in the world.

Jameos Del Aqua is a beautiful area of Lanzarote to see. With the help of Caesar, this artist created a lava tube that is something to see. The now auditorium is home to an underground lagoon that is surrounded by a bar and a restaurant. Gardens are also found all around the lagoon. You will not see anything as beautiful as this anywhere. It is truly magnificent how someone can create such a work of art that is enjoyed for years by visitors to Lanzarote. Rita Hayward once declared this site as an eight wonder of the world.

The Cactus Garden is dedicated to many different varieties of cacti. Cheap holidays to Lanzarote would not be complete if you did not see this beautiful garden. They are growing around an amphitheater shaped like a bowl.
Public speaking is all about performance, whether this is on an auditorium stage, in a small room or a huge arena. Holding the attention of your audience throughout your presentation or speech is an area well documented in any public speaking course. Once you've learned how to prepare your notes, conquered your fear of public speaking and brushed up your presentation skills, tips on great ways to captivate your audience is the all-important next step!

Public speaking tips; opening lines.

Instantly gain your audience's interest by using an attention-grabbing opener. The nature of this obviously depends on the type of public speaking event you're attending, so do consider whether using a joke is appropriate! Starting with a question or a controversial opening statement will often have a dramatic effect.

Public speaking tips; acknowledge your audience.

Let your audience know that you care about the fact that they given up their precious time to listen to your speech. Many speakers try to block out the people present in the room, sometimes to try to help control their fear of public speaking or because they want to concentrate on their notes. You have to remember that your audience are the reason you're there in the first place! You'll win over your listeners a whole lot quicker if you acknowledge their presence, interact with them by asking or answering questions; even just by making eye contact with a few people can make a big difference in your public speaking performance.

Public speaking tips; using notes and visual aids.

Most people prefer to have some notes handy for public speaking events, and you may prefer to use slides, Powerpoint or other visual aids. These can be very useful, but be careful not to focus on them too much or you may be in danger of losing the connection with your audience.

Public speaking tips: personality and expression.

Don't be afraid to let your personality come across at a public speaking event. Unless you think you have potential as an Oscar winner, your audience will see right through any attempt at amateur acting. Be yourself; you'll gain a lot more respect from the people you're addressing. Although public speaking is a performance to some extent, it's your personality and your material that will make it interesting.

Public speaking tips: working the room.

While it's not a good idea to fidget or nervously fiddle with your notes, moving around the room can really help you to connect with your audience. By simply walking forward to the front of the stage or towards the nearest row of people to emphasise an important point, you can certainly make a powerful impact in public speaking.

Public speaking tips: leaving a lasting impression.

Finish off your speech with a "wow factor". Public speaking is not only about getting your point across, the impact you make depends on people remembering you and the important or entertaining content of your speech. Leave a lasting impression on your audience by closing with an interesting or unusual fact, a final question for them to ponder over or a funny comment if the situation allows! <bio>Steve Robinson teaches public speaking.
There will be music played throughout the day at your wedding. Some areas you will want to remember to arrange music for include the period of time as the guests begin arriving at the ceremony venue, special music for the recessional and processional, special music as the wedding party signs the marriage license, some music for after the recessional is complete, music while guests arrive and begin mingling at the reception venue, background music during the reception dinner, any music for the formal reception presentations, and finally the music you will be dancing to.

For each of these choices, you will have to decide if you want to go with a live band, a DJ, a mix of your own music, or a combination. Most people decide on a combination, with each area getting a different treatment.

As guests enter the ceremony venue, music is best handled by having an organist or a pianist playing songs as they enter the main auditorium. This is by no means concrete, and you may also choose to just have a CD playing in the background.

For the processional, you may again choose between live music and recorded music. The processional should be mainly instrumental, and there are many songs to choose from. Most processional songs are ones that are originally recorded using instruments only, and are often classics such as the popular Canon in D.

The musical selection should change with the entrance of the bride, and though "Here Comes the Bride" remains the most popular choice for the bride's walk, many brides are beginning to select their songs as an illustration of their individual tastes. Again, the song choice should be one that does not include words in the original writing.

As the bride and groom and others sign the marriage license, most weddings will include a special number by a live singer or group and some accompanying instruments. The song choice should reflect the emotion of the moment, as two lives are joined together in harmony by free will.

The recessional offers a great opportunity to choose a fun song that reflects a festive mood as well as the tastes of the couple. The recessional represents the moment that the couple is first introduced as being married to the public, and there will often be clapping and cheering. Have some fun with the moment- some songs that I have known couples to choose include "Winnie the Pooh", a punk version of "Earth Angel", "Rock the Kasbah" and "Oh, Boy!" by both Buddy Holly and MXPX.

At the reception, you will want to make sure you have a sound system set up that is suitable for your chosen music. There should be music played as guests come in and during dinner, as well as any planned performances during the formal program. After the program, it is time for the music to be turned up and the dancing to begin.

The bride and groom should pick the music for both their first dance together and the second dance, which will be with the parents. These song choices are totally up to the discretion of the couple. <bio>Porche Reingold managed to pull off her dream wedding for just $3000.
If you are a classical musician, opera singer, jazz performer, or pop group, you may have grown up dreaming of one day performing at the world famous Carnegie Hall. For over a hundred years, Carnegie Hall has been a status symbol of the highest echelons of musical taste and appreciation.

Carnegie Hall bears the name of Andrew Carnegie, who originally had it built to house the Oratorio Society of New York and the New York Symphony Society. Carnegie, who was famous for his philanthropy, served on the boards of both organizations. The great hall opened its doors on May 5, 1891 and featured the famous composer Peter Tchaikovsky conducting his musical works.

Quite a prestigious beginning for a music hall. Over the years, many famous performers have appeared at Carnegie Hall, such as Duke Ellington, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Yo-Yo Ma and yes, even the Beatles!

Carnegie Hall houses three concert halls and a museum. The Main Hall seats 2,804 people and is five levels. If you don't want to walk up 100+ stairs, you can always take the elevator. This is where all the big concerts are held. The acoustics are marvelous. The late classical violinist, Isaac Stern, once said about the acoustics "It takes what you do and makes it larger than life."

The love that Isaac Stern had for Carnegie Hall is evident as you'll see that the Main Hall is now called the Isaac Stern Auditorium. Believe it or not, Carnegie Hall was slated for demolition in 1960, but due to the efforts of Stern, it was saved and eventually purchased by the City of New York for $5 million.

The other two halls are much smaller and suitable for more intimate performances. Zankel Hall seats 599 and the newer Weil Hall seats 268. You can also visit the Rose Museum, which houses the Carnegie Archives, artifacts and memorabilia of the buildings history and performances.

When you reach the great hall, located at Seventh Avenue and West 57th Street, you'll immediately admire its Italian Renaissance style architecture. The hall was even designed by a musician, an amateur cellist named William Tuthill.

Just a short walk around the corner is the Steinway Building, which displays some beautifully crafted Steinway pianos, the same type of pianos that are often used by Carnegie Hall performers.

There are over 100 performances a season held at Carnegie Hall. If you have your heart set on attending a concert there, be aware that you'll need to buy your tickets way in advance, because they tend to sell out quickly. If you are lucky enough to attend an event at Carnegie, you'll enjoy some of the world's finest musical performances while admiring its splendor. <bio>Cruise the beautiful Hawaiian Islands =96 even if you're on a budget http://www.last-minute-hawaii-cruise.com </bio>

Excerpt from Constantine Maroulis Top 10, Season 4

If I went back to my high school and walked the halls, I'd probably still hear my teacher's voice calling out to me, "Constantine! You have such talent; don't waste it!" For some, a teacher like that comes along once in a lifetime. For many, not even once. I now look back and see how lucky I was that she cared about me. Not too many teachers did.

When I was a teenager, I had a lousy attitude and topped it off with bad grades. Deep down, I thought I probably was a good singer, but I didn't have an ounce of confidence in my bones. I'd look in the mirror and see a shy, ugly, geeky kid staring back. And I'd be flat-out terrified if somebody asked me to sing. In fact, I was so scared, there were times when I'd open my mouth and nothing would come out.

I remember the rainy February morning that I walked into her music class. I sat in my chair, half slumped over, thinking that this was gonna be bad. I was chewing gum, figuring I could probably sing and chew at the same time. I mean, I wasn't serious about this singing thing.

The old wooden door opened slowly, and into the classroom walked Mrs. Carol Birdsill. She looked right at me and smiled. I instantly knew that she connected to something inside of me. What it was, I didn't know, but that something whispered, Sit up, shut up, and put out your hand, Constantine. She is holding the missing puzzle piece you're looking for. I threw out my gum.

She was a round, jolly woman with big white hair. I loved to watch her sit at her piano and sing her heart out. She was the kindest, sweetest, and probably the most talented woman I had ever met. I loved everything about her, but more importantly, she loved everything about me.

For the first time in my life, someone believed in my talent. With Mrs. Birdsill, I didn't have to say a word =97 she knew how much I struggled to let my inner voice out. She saw my anguish, and she never gave up on me. Her goal was not only to get me to sing, but more importantly, to get me to believe I could sing. She also happened to be the musical director for our high-school plays and wanted me to be in them.

One day, she took me aside, looked me in the eye, and said, "You have real talent. Just stop the nonsense and focus! First of all, you have to start doing better in school. Secondly, I know this is something you could pursue professionally some day. I believe in you, Constantine." She gave it to me straight, but it just didn't sink in fast enough. She tried so hard to get to me, but I remained slightly out of her reach. It was just a lot easier hanging out with my friends than facing my fears.

The surprise of my life came when Mrs. Birdsill picked me to be the music teacher for the day. It might not sound like a big deal, but it was. In fact, it was considered a school honor =97 my first. I was so proud and excited.

The day before my big teaching day dawned, the principal called me down to his office during music class. I thought he probably needed to talk to me about the procedures for the next day. I walked in and he said, "Sit down, Constantine."

My knees knocked as I tried to center myself in the enormous mahogany chair in front of his desk.

"Constantine," he said, "you've done very well in Mrs. Birdsill's class, and it's a great privilege to be chosen as the music teacher for the day. Unfortunately, your other grades are not worthy, and I can't allow you to accept this honor." I sat there motionless as his words went through me like a blade of ice. I was devastated. I had failed again, and I took it out on the one person who meant the most to me.

I fought back my tears as I went to her class, picked up my books, and walked out, never looking back. I had made my decision: I'm not going to try out for her shows. They're for losers.

I remember the day before the school's big show =97 the show I belonged in, and the one I knew Mrs. Birdsill wanted me in so badly. I peeked into the auditorium and saw her hard at work with actors, singers, and band members. I walked home slowly that day with an awful, empty feeling inside.

When I got to my house, I went into the kitchen and threw my books across the floor just as the phone rang. I didn't feel much like talking to anyone, but I picked up the phone and unenthusiastically said hello. The chilling words that came across the phone line left me frozen. "Constantine?! Oh, my God, Constantine, Mrs. Birdsill just died!"

I threw the phone and, as it smashed into the wall, I screamed, "Nooooo! Please, come back. Please!" I wept =97 my God, I wept. I felt like I had lost my guardian angel, the one who had been sent to help me believe in myself. My pain was so great that I thought it would never leave. But my lack of will to turn my life around was greater . . . until exactly one year to the day after Mrs. Birdsill's death.

The opening day of our school's annual play was upon us once again =97 and, once again, I wasn't a part of it. Just as I had done the year before, I peeked into the auditorium, and this time the absence of the jolly woman with the big white hair was painfully obvious.

But a strange thing happened later that day. A huge, round, fluffy white owl perched itself on a telephone pole outside and just sat there, motionless, staring at the school. No one knew where it came from. We had never seen an owl in our neighborhood before =97 and didn't they just come out in the dark of night?

I went outside and watched that bird for hours. Everyone was talking about it, asking, "Why is it staying there?"

I knew why. That owl had come for me. As I stared at the creature, it stared back, looking right through me, and I felt just like I did when I first walked into Mrs. Birdsill's music room twelve months earlier. The owl took no pity. I fell to my knees and wept =97 and it just watched me weep. That owl had a message, and in the quiet evening air, I finally heard it, loud and clear.

The next school play was West Side Story, and although I was terrified, I auditioned. I found the strength to overcome my fear when I heard Mrs. Birdsill's voice inside me, saying, I believe in you, Constantine. You can do this.

I got the part.

I worked harder than I had ever worked at anything in my life, and when the curtain went up on opening night, I sang my best, knowing my guardian angel was right by my side. As I struggled to find that first note, the missing puzzle piece was finally in place. I not only heard her voice saying, I believe in you, but for the first time ever, I heard my own voice saying, I believe in me. And that's how it all began.

(Reprinted with permission from Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul: Stories from the Idols and their Fans that Open Your Heart and Make Your Soul Sing).

(Note to iSnare Editor: Our client Debra Poneman is author of the book Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul.
There was once a time when you needed to be a musician to be able to perform in public, but with the advent of easily obtainable music backing tracks, and the need of pubs and clubs to attract new patrons, all this has changed.

And seeing ordinary people thrust into the limelight via TV shows has given us all the idea that our voices, once upon a time confined to the bathroom, is now something we should be parading in public.

It's not as if the desire to sing in public is a new thing - a few beers have always unloosened the vocal chords, even when the only option was singing along around the pub piano.

No longer is karaoke known as the opportunity where those who absolutely, positively cannot sing a note go to prove it - today's karaoke nights are populated by some very talented singers. Lured by singing to high-quality backing tracks, karaoke has become a respected arena for even some high profile pop stars.

But if you're a 'karaoke virgin', don't be alarmed - different venues cater for different levels of singing talent, and the spirit of karaoke means that no singer genuinely trying their best is ever given less than appreciative applause.

Most karaoke gigs are held in pubs and clubs, but are often not advertised. Unless you happen to be there on the night, chances are you'll never know that the karaoke exists - and some karaoke nights are held only once or twice a month.

Whilst major cities will have karaoke running somewhere every night of the week, in the lesser cities karaoke may be found only late in the week and at weekends; and most major towns will have karaoke somewhere on a Friday and Saturday night.

Rural towns will often have karaoke at the weekends in the RSL or sporting club, and taxi drivers are another good source of karaoke venue information.

But the very best place to find your karaoke is on websites, and Australia's most up-to-date list is on where2sing.com - with more than 800 venues listed nationwide.

It's not just finding a karaoke night that matters, it's now important to find the right type of night.

Are you a first timer looking for some free entertainment and possibly a chance to get up on stage and sing? Or are you an experienced singer who wants a filled auditorium of people to impress? Every pub and club is different, and selecting one that suits you is the key to really enjoying your night.

With the Internet being the first choice of many seeking information, websites now hold the feedback of singers who have already visited venues and are keen to share their knowledge.

One result of this is the 'Where2sing.com National Top 10 Karaoke Venues chart' which is taken as a benchmark of a venue's karaoke quality.

Where2sing.com is also a sponsor of the Australian heats of the Karaoke World Championships 2007 - Australia placed 5th in 2005 but scored a victory in the men's titles in 2006 by coming first.

And whilst there's now even online karaoke where you can upload your singing performance to websites for others to hear and rate, nothing beats the friendship and entertainment of a live karaoke night in a pub or club. <bio>David Kenward writes about karaoke, and runs Australia's #1 karaoke website http://www.where2sing.com - 800+ karaoke gigs listed, karaoke news, gig reviews, chat forums, the Where2sing.com National Top 10 Karaoke Venues and a free weekly Karaoke News Email. </bio>

With all the new shopping centers, restaurants and entertainment offered by Las Vegas these days it's easy to forget about the casinos. But they are still the center of attraction for many. Vegas still has many of the old-time icons to offer like the Sahara. But many new ones have sprouted up in just the past decade. Even those as old as 40 years have seen major renovations in the past few years, to compete and to keep that youthful spirit ever fresh.

Come to Hollywood. The granddaddy of modern Vegas, the casino complex is built to resemble a huge movie set, sort of like James Bond on steroids. Even with the 16,000 seat auditorium and dozens of restaurants, there's still plenty of room for gaming. Whether you're an old-timer who still wants to play keno or you're a young stud or studette with an itch for high stakes poker, you won't walk away disappointed. Empty-pocketed, maybe.

For the real James Bond feel to your gaming fun, check out one of the newer kids in town. With re-creations of the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre, the place is easy to spot. But save your eagle eye to spot that ace that just went to your left. Also be sure to save some money after all the Baccarat to spend on a lady at Le Cabaret where the Euro bands entertain.

After Paris, only Egypt will look exotic. The Luxor is a 360ft/110m high glass pyramid that shines in the desert sun like a mirage. Get yourself worked up for some hot action with the dice as you face off with the fez. With an Olympic-sized pool to cool off in after a hot night's gambling, you'll find it has every kind of game imaginable. Apart from the thousands of slot machines, hundreds of poker tables, roulette wheels and the like, there's a virtual gaming room. Unreal.

From ancient Egypt, travel to the tropics and enjoy some of the jazz featured at Mandalay Bay. Between Broadway shows in the 12,000 seat theater, you can enjoy some fine roulette. Be sure to bet on black, since you want to avoid being in the red after a few hours at house odds. When you're done you can drown your sorrows or celebrate your winnings with a cool drink at the bar near the sandy beach.

Caesars remains the Las Vegas king. Around for decades, it still offers some of the hottest tables, the coolest dealers and the sexiest waitresses in town. Get ready to roll the dice amid the splendor of the Imperial Roman decor, then relax in the spa and gloat. Go to Cleopatra's later for some dancing or enjoy a show in the Omnimax Theater. Whether you like Texas Hold 'Em or European-style roulette, or just want to punch a dollar into a slot and watch the wheels spin, the casinos in Vegas have something for you. Be nice to the dealers, though. The hotels still hire large, serious looking gentlemen as managers to keep everyone polite.

For cash back deals and free deals visit http://www.dragonrewards.com/browse/all/all/all <bio>Roger Thompson advises consumers on free and cash back deals for the portal http://www.dragonrewards.com/browse/all/all/all </bio>
