andquot;Get over there, andquot; my friend Nan said with a shove.

I won't. I can't go, I thought, then recoiled. I set down my tea, put the book back into my black tote bag and zipped it shut. She'd never, I mean why would she?andquot;

andquot;Just come on, will you?andquot; Nan said so... well, so confidently. Oh yeah, that's right. I'm the journalist here.

I straightened by back, fumbled for the paperback and walked over to greet Nan. Yes, living life at the marrow, that's what I'd promised myself. It's my favorite quote from Thoreau's Walden: Life isn't worth living unless you can live it at the marrow. And I was doing it. Although, I could begin tomorrow... andquot;Hurry up!andquot;

Okay, now I'm nervous, tightly gripping my dog-eared and yellowed copy of First Lady From Plains with anticipation. In the other hand a pen, damp with perspiration. andquot;Are you sure? Do you think she'll mind?andquot;

andquot;Get over there next to her and I'll take your picture.andquot;

I looked up. Yes, there I was standing right next to her; the former First Lady Rosalynn Carter. I was. I swear. (You can see me here: www.lauramturner.com) I'd been invited to the National Women's Hall Of Fame annual induction luncheon in Seneca Falls, New York. The best credential I'd ever earned working as a journalist. Just to be on the beat was an accomplishment, I promise you.

The Women's Hall pays tribute to females of experience, women of power, persuasion. Women from the likes of Oprah, to legends passed such as suffragist Susan B. Anthony, Rosa Parks and literary giants like Willa Cather and Eudora Welty. These Great Ladies, all two hundred seventeen of them, line the walls of the National Women's Hall. Accomplished women. Women who dared. Women who live life at the marrow.

andquot;Oh! Hello. Good afternoon, Mrs. Carter, andquot; I stammered. andquot;Congratulations on your induction, and your accomplishments, andquot; I paused. andquot;Oh and would you mind very much signing my book. Would you? Oh and my name's Laura, by the way.andquot; I swallowed hard. Smooth, right? I finally get to meet The First Lady From Plains and there's no place at all to buy a vowel.

Rosalynn Carter extended her hand. I placed the pen in her grip and gazed at her like a child opening a pop-up storybook and watching the pictures come to life. andquot;Pleased to meet you, andquot; she said.

She signed, then placed the volume and pen back into my hands. Snap!

andquot;Thank you, andquot; I said smoothing the glossy cover. Nan and I returned to our seats. The former First Lady returned to her seat. And the chicken salad was served.

About The National Women's Hall Of Fame (Reference: http://www.greatwomen.org/mission.php):

andquot; In 1969, a group of women and men of Seneca Falls created the National Women's Hall of Fame, believing that the contribution of American women deserved a permanent home in the small village where it all began. The National Women's Hall of Fame, a national membership organization, holds as its mission:

'To honor in perpetuity these women, citizens of the United States of America whose contributions to the arts, athletics, business, education, government, the humanities, philanthropy and science, have been the greatest value for the development of their country.' (Copyright 2006 National Women's Hall Of Fame)

The Hall is a shrine to some of the greatest women in the history of this country and a tribute that grows annually with each induction ceremony as we learn to appreciate more about the wonderful contributions that women make to our civilization.andquot;

To take the online tour or to learn more about the National Women's Hall of Fame, visit their website http://www.greatwomen.org <bio>Laura M.
The sooner you start addressing your wedding invitations the better. The most organized brides will have their wedding invitations in hand at three months prior to the wedding. The easiest way to get this daunting task done is to organize a lunch or dinner party with your bridesmaids and get those girls to help out. Don't put undue stress on yourself or your mother and try to do it all yourself.

Typically you will have two envelopes to address when it comes to your wedding invitation ensemble. There usually is the inner envelope and the outer envelope. The outer envelope has the name and address of a particular guest or guests.

The inner envelope contains all the enclosures. The inner envelope would have the name or names of the guests you're inviting to the ceremony and reception. There is no address on the inner envelope.

As soon as you sit down to start writing these envelopes out, things get complicated. Here are guidelines for how to address the inner and outer envelopes for common name situations. Remember, the inner envelope will not have an address. The outer envelope has the name and address.

(1)Single Man named Adam Smith. Inner envelope: Mr. Smith. Outer envelope: Mr. Adam Smith

(2)Young Boy named Adam Smith. Inner envelope: Master Smith. Outer envelope: Master Adam Smith

(3)Single Woman or Girl named Jennifer Brown. Inner envelope: Miss Brown or Ms. Brown. Outer envelope: Miss Jennifer Brown or Ms. Jennifer Brown

(4)Single Woman and a Guest (let us use: Jennifer Brown and Adam Smith). Inner envelope on two lines: Miss Brown, Mr. Smith or Miss Brown, And Guest. Outer envelope: Miss Jennifer Brown

(5)Single Man and a Guest (let us use: Adam Smith and Jennifer Brown again). Inner envelope on two lines: Mr. Smith, Miss Brown or Mr. Smith, And Guest. Outer envelope: Mr. Adam Smith

(6)Widow named Beverly Carter (assume her deceased husband's name is Gary Carter). Inner envelope: Mrs. Carter. Outer envelope: Mrs. Gary Carter.

(7)Divorcee named Beverly Carter. Her maiden name was Jones. Inner envelope: Mrs. Carter. Outer envelope would be Mrs. Jones Carter (a combination of the maiden name and former husband's last name).

(8)Unmarried couple that lives together (let's use Adam Smith and Jennifer Brown). Inner envelope: Miss Brown and Mr. Smith (go alphabetically by last name). Outer envelope in two lines: Miss Jennifer Brown, Mr. Adam Smith.

(9)Husband and Wife with same last name (let's use Greg Green and Sally Green). Inner envelope: Mr. and Mrs. Green. Outer envelope: Mr. and Mrs. Greg Green.

(10)Husband and Wife with different last names (let's use Gregg Green and Sally Hill). Inner envelope: Ms. Hill and Mr. Green (wife's name goes first). Outer envelope on two lines: Ms. Sally Hill, Mr. Greg Green.

(11)Husband and Wife from example 9 also have 3 kids: Alice, Betsy and Mark. Inner envelope on two lines: Mr. and Mrs. Green, Alice, Betsy and Mark (kids go on line two in order of age). Outer envelope just has the husband and wife: Mr. and Mrs. Greg Green.

These are situations you are bound to run into when addressing your wedding invitations. Once you get the hang of it, it will be easy. You should assemble your guest list and their addresses in an Excel spreadsheet. Make a column for inner and outer envelopes. This way if you take the time to figure it out prior to addressing the envelopes, you and your bridesmaids won't screw up envelope after envelope. You won't have to think at all. You and your bridesmaids could even be drinking margaritas and be fine. Just not too many. Be organized and you'll be fine.<bio>Save 30% off your wedding invitations at www.GuntherInvitations.com.
Christian Carter of Catch Him and Keep Him interviewed famed online dating coach Evan Marc Katz recently. From that interview, Christian Carter gleaned some great tips for singles about how manage online dating and your membership to online dating sites.

The first aspect of online dating that Katz talks about is how to write your online profile so that it gets the attention of those people you want to attract. One of those ways is to first LOSE the adjectives. Go to any online dating site and you will find that 95% of the profiles use adjectives to describe themselves such as "nice, warm, caring, funny, family oriented, looking for a lifelong partner, honest, successful, blah blah blah". Ok - but what does that actually TELL you about he person behind the words? Not a thing.

Instead, create an actual description of yourself in your online profile by using stories and anecdotes about yourself. Tell the other singles something like, "I'm the kind of gal who makes friends with the trash collector on my morning walk" or "Not only do I love the typical 'long walk on the beach' but I occasionally stalk sand-crabs with a flashbulb and digital camera!" So paint a picture, compel them, illustrate yourself in a unique but truthful manner and your profile will be smoking hot!

Another great topic Katz and Christian Carter discussed was how to actually craft a compelling email when you find a man online that you want to contact. This is incredibly important because you have one chance to make that man want to read your profile and respond to you. You must stand out from all the other singles in the online world. The flip side to this - you cannot make him think you WANT HIM more than he will want you.

Katz tells Christian Carter that in order to "Catch Him and Keep Him" you have to make that man think he is lucky to be hearing from you. According to Evan Marc Katz - when you are trying to impress someone, you actually come off as unimpressive, even desperate. Make your initial email short - and make him smile. Find something in his online profile that you can PICK on and bust his balls over it (in a totally playful way).

Then stop! Sign off - bait the hook and wait.

After you start getting hits on your profile, you need to start weeding out the good seeds from the bad. Take it slow and take the time to screen your potential dates up front. Christian Carter agrees with Evan, saying a woman can never be too careful in the online dating world, and to never go out with a man simply because he is pressuring you to meet him face to face. Meet him where you are comfortable. One great way is to meet your date for lunch instead of the typical evening date. If you can't do lunch, then go for coffee first, or meet in the park on a Saturday afternoon or some other socially safe situation.

One more "screening" tip - when you are asking your new contact questions, don't be obvious about the answer you want. What do I mean? If you want to know if he is looking to get serious, ask him instead if he is looking for a casual relationship. He will be more than happy to tell you he is if he thinks you are as well, otherwise, he will tell you what you WANT to hear. Be crafty! There is nothing wrong with that, and it will save you a lot of heartache in the end. <bio>http://www.youcangettheguy.com </bio>

From the high point of saving lives to the boring minutae of paperwork, the highs and lows of hospital ER work are examined. The initial years see several characters appearing regularly. Other notable episodes from Season 2 include "Hell and High Water" in which Doug happens upon a young boy trapped in a drain pipe rapidly filling with water, and "A Shift in the Night" in which Mark is forced to carry the load of the ER by himself when Doug is out with whiplash and Susan is out on business...

Below is a list of episodes included on the ER (Season 2) DVD:

Episode 27 (Welcome Back, Carter!) Air Date: 09-21-1995 Episode 28 (Summer Run) Air Date: 09-28-1995 Episode 29 (Do One, Teach One, Kill One) Air Date: 10-05-1995 Episode 30 (What Life?)
New Jersey Nets tickets have been a popular choice among local sports fans in recent seasons, as the Nets have somewhat-quietly put together a highly-successful run after years of being a complete afterthought on the NBA landscape. Their team is as athletic and entertaining as any in the league, and they're always a threat to contend for the Eastern Conference title. The Nets are once again an interesting team as we enter the 2006-7 NBA season, and below are some details regarding their prospects for the upcoming season.

Additions

The Nets were relatively quiet during the offseason, but they did make a series of small moves to address their offensive struggles from last season. They signed G Eddie House, who is known for his instant offense off the bench. He's also been known as a defensive liability, but he's the perfect cure for any team that needs a spark during a game.

The only other move of even minor significance was drafting PG Marcus Williams from Connecticut. Starting PG Jason Kidd is 33, and he started to tire down the stretch last season after logging huge minutes. If Williams can provide some consistency off the bench, he'll not only keep the Nets rolling on offense but will also give Kidd the opportunity to rest more during the season and remain fresh as the playoffs come around.

Strong Suit

The Nets' strength is clear, and that's perimeter scoring. Their "Big Three" of Kidd, Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter are deadly when they're shooting the ball well, and if they are hitting their jumpers, all three can create big-time problems for opponents with their ability to drive the lane and either finish or dish to an open shooter.

When they are clicking, New Jersey Nets tickets are worth the effort to obtain, as they can provide a highly-entertaining display of basketball. Not to mention, Carter is in his contract year, and although he's gained a bit of a reputation for being soft and not always playing hard, you can bet he'll be motivated to cash in on one more huge contract during his career. A motivated Carter should be a scary thought for the rest of the NBA.

Outlook

Like many other NBA teams, there are a lot of "ifs" regarding the Nets. IF Kidd, Carter and Jefferson, along with talented C Nenad Krstic can stay healthy, the Nets will be a high-scoring team. IF they continue to play decent defense as they did last season, the Nets will be able to overcome those nights when the ball isn't going in the basket. IF the Nets' divisional rivals remain a weak group, as only the Celtics look like they'll be legitimate playoff contenders this season, then the Nets will win their division and get into the playoffs.

However, it doesn't look like, even if all of these "ifs" work in the Nets' favor, that they'll be able to compete with the likes of Miami, Detroit, Cleveland and even Chicago in the Eastern Conference. That proclamation should come with a caveat, however - Carter is as talented as any player on the planet, and if he's as motivated as most think he will be, he's good enough to win games almost by himself.

Regardless, New Jersey Nets tickets will definitely allow fans to see one of the most interesting and entertaining teams in the NBA this season. <bio>Written by Jay Nault, sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/ .
Anyone who is in the market for archery release aids knows that there are many varieties and brand names to choose from. You will need to find the best release your particular needs- Hunting, 3D, competition, etc. If you want to find out more about this quality bowhunting equipment then keep reading.

Carter Releases Back Strap Release

First up is the Carter Releases Back Strap Release. This high quality piece of bowhunting equipment is made to be shot from pulling, not punching. This is made possible by the resistance activated release which helps with target panic and buck fever. The Carter Back Strap provides less torque for wrist strap shooters than a hand held release. This release also comes with the I.T.S., or an interchangeable spring system that allows you a full range of pulling weights.

The Carter Back Strap makes the trigger act as a safety and not a firing pin. During the draw cycle of the bow, the safety gets depressed and then releases at full draw. This is another great example of quality bowhunting equipment. When you are in the valley, ease your index finger away from the safety and start to build pressure up on the backside of the cam until the release lets it go. This seems to be a good way to help struggling archers try to learn the push and pull concept. Another quality piece of bowhunting equipment Carter Releases is the Sensation Release. Has an open hook design which is great for quiet loading to string and cocking. This model also has a thumb trigger release and the I.T.S. interchangeable tension system.

Cobra Archery

Another high quality manufacturer of bowhunting equipment is Cobra Archery. The make the Mamba Fang Release. It features a hand polished, stainless steel jaw that does away with serving wear. Also has an adjustable trigger travel, smaller design and a forward mounted trigger which will increase power stroke. Next is the Cobra Archery EZ Adjust Pro Caliper Jr. This model is perfect for women and younger hunters. It has an adjustable, reduced length module with a loop strap. This also has a gun styled curved trigger and a shorter extension module for smaller hands. And a 360-degree rotating release head to reduce bowstring torque. Another great piece of bowhunting equipment.

Copper John

Now, a release from Copper John called the Stanislawski Eagle Four Finger Smooth Handel. It has great back tension; setting anchor point is easy, trigger control and comes with a wrist strap that is de-scentable. It is made from aircraft grade aluminum and stainless steel. Unlike with this triggering mechanism, an index finger one would allow you to lose you reference point because you have to move your finger in order to shoot. This release was another good example of top-notch bowhunting equipment.

Hopefully, these reviews helped you to make an informed decision about releases and what you need for your particular situation. Of course, the releases that were featured here were just the tip of the iceberg as fat as all of the models and brand names available. If you want to look further into releases, check out www.eaglearchery.com for all of your release needs and bow hunting needs.<bio>At Eagle Archery we are dedicated to providing you with the largest selection of Bowhunting Equimpent on the Internet. We have a great Compound Bow collection in addition to crossbows.</bio>

Nominated for five Academy Awards, and winner of the Oscar for Best Actress (Reese Witherspoon), Walk The Line chronicles the life and times of legendary country music star Johnny Cash with an intense, and sometimes dark, intimacy. Following on the heels of the previous year's Oscar Award-winning picture Ray, based on the life of Ray Charles, I entered the theater under the mistaken impression that Walk The Line would be a cookie-cutter attempt to capitalize on the various themes of that picture's commercial success. But although the dramatic personal struggle with drug addiction is prevalent in both films, Walk The Line was more than able to stand on its own as a powerful and impressionable big screen biography. And just like the aforementioned film, you leave Walk The Line with a renewed interest in the music of Johnny Cash and a deep personal attachment to the lives of Cash and his likeable wife, June Carter.

Directed by James Mangold, the talent behind such notable films as Kate and Leopold (2001) and Identity (2003), Walk The Line begins in the rough and tumble world of Depression-Era Arkansas where a young Johnny Cash (Joaquin Phoenix) tends to the family cotton farm with his parents and older brother. Early on, a family tragedy strains the relationship between Cash and his father, providing a glimpse into the epic moment that would shape his life forever. Soon after, the film jumps to the early 1950s where Cash perfects his guitar talents while stationed overseas in the Air Force. His marriage to high school classmate Vivian Liberto lands the two in Memphis where Johnny supports the family as an appliance salesman while pursuing his musical interests on the side. Here, Cash founds The Tennessee Two with bassist Marshall Grant (Larry Bagby) and guitarist Luther Perkins (Dan John Miller), and the trio plays its way to a music deal with local label Sun Records.

As part of a promotional campaign, Cash is put on tour with other "rockabilly" newcomers Elvis Presley (Tyler Hilton), Jerry Lee Lewis (Waylon Payne), and Carl Perkins (Johnny Holiday). But during his tour with the quartet, the life of Johnny Cash takes numerous turns. He meets the affable June Carter (Reese Witherspoon), begins an addiction to amphetamines and alcohol, and watches his marriage to Vivian deteriorate under the strain of his constant absence. All three would come to define the next fifteen years of Cash's life as he struggled to triumph over his personal demons. Despite his all-encompassing drug addiction, Cash nevertheless manages to crank out hits, but his personal life hits rock bottom following bouts with divorce, loneliness, depression, and his continued drug addiction. When Cash reunites with June Carter in a musical collaboration, the magical bond between the two is amplified. But Johnny's addiction threatens to ruin everything they've built together...

The most impressive aspect of Walk The Line, aside from the storyline itself, is the performance of Witherspoon and her counterpart Phoenix. Amazingly, both provide their own voiceovers, and for the casual listener, very little difference can be detected between the Hollywood talents and the real life country music legends they impersonate. Much was made of the performance of Joaquin Phoenix in the days leading up to the film's release, but I came away more impressed by Witherspoon. Apparently, so did the Academy because they awarded her their highest honor for the role. What stood out the most was the actress's down-to-earth smile and charismatic mannerisms. She created a character with ample assertiveness, yet one that burst at the seams with an infectious optimism and love for life. As such, the audience can't help but fall in love with June Carter. In addition, Witherspoon displays an amazing singing voice that accurately captures the distinct and unique aspects of June Carter's talent. Overall, Walk The Line is a fine film, and a fitting remembrance to the career and life of country music's greatest icon, Johnny Cash... <bio>Britt Gillette is author of The DVD Report (http://thedvdreport.blogspot.com), a blog where you can find more reviews like this one. </bio>

President Jimmy Carter was the first President of the United States of America to have officially reported the UFO he saw to the authorities. He was also the President who said that if elected he would see that UFO-Alien Full Disclosure would take place. That the American public would be told the truth about everything was one of the campaign cries of Jimmy Carter. Carter made a promise he could not or would not be able to keep.

After Carter won the White House, he paid a visit to the then-CIA Director, George Bush. Carter had an interest in UFOs ever since experiencing his first sighting sometime in 1969 while standing outside a Lion's Club in Georgia. His campaign speeches promising to unravel the government's long held cover-up was the "Parting of the Red Sea" for Ufologists not only in America but around the world. Here was the one guy who would open up the "Promised Land" and lead them into Full Disclosure.

Carter wanted the U.S. Government's UFO secret documents declassified. George Bush more or less told Carter that the President of the United States did not have the need to know the information contained in those documents. Can you even begin to imagine that? What lends even more mind-blowing credibility to this alleged event between Carter and Bush is the credibility of the allegation maker: Daniel Sheehan.

Daniel Sheehan was born in1946 and graduated from Harvard Law School. There, he was co-founder of the Harvard Civil Rights and Civil Liberty Law Review. He went on to work for the American Civil Liberties Union and became general counsel for a host of entities including The Disclosure Project-a group dedicated to getting the U.S. Government to allow full and unfettered access to what the Feds know about the UFO-Alien phenomenon.

According to Sheehan, Bush Senior, who was the CIA Director, refused Carter's request for disclosure of the UFO documents, even to the President of the United States, because it was generally believed in the halls and corridors of the secret, black-ops government that Carter would then turn the truth over to the American people.

Director of a California think tank, Sheehan's credentials are impeccable. Sheehan's career is a litany of high-profile cases like, "legal counsel team for the New York Times' Pentagon Papers case, defense of the Berrigan brothers, going after the Kerr-McGee nuclear plant (Karen Silkwood), Three-Mile Island, Iran-Contra. At the Disclosure Conference, Sheehan says the Bush-Carter story was relayed to him in 1977 by Marcia Smith of the Congressional Research Service, part of the Library of Congress."

Sheehan's interest in this phenomenon came about when Sheehan met Marcia Smith through a mutual acquaintance. Smith told Sheehan that she was involved in a research project for the Science and Technology Committee of the Library of Congress that would address the issues of the potential existence of extraterrestrial intelligence and make an evaluation of the data on the phenomena of UFOs. When Sheehan queried Smith as to who exactly wanted this study done, her answer was none other than Jimmy Carter.

This all was with a view to investigate exactly what could or could not be turned over to the general public, according to Daniel Sheehan.

Smith asked Sheehan if he could, since he was the then-General Counsel to United States Jesuit Headquarters at their National Office in Washington D.C., get access to the records on the UFO-Alien issue contained in the Vatican. Though Sheehan made repeated attempts to gain access to the Vatican's documents through official channels, he was refused each time.

This makes one wonder just why, if all there is to this UFO-Alien issue is weather balloons, flocks of geese, and swamp gas, would the Vatican (or any government on the earth, for that matter) have top-secret, and highly unattainable records pertaining to a nonexistent issue?

After telling Marcia Smith of his roadblock with the Vatican Library, she asked if he could help with a team that was lobbying Congressional leader to reinstate funds for the SETI (Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence) program. Sheehan indicated to Smith that he was glad to help out. Smith also later asked him if he could help out with an investigation into "the potential theological religious implications of potential contact with extraterrestrial civilizations."

This again begs the question that if there's nothing at all to this phenomenon, then why this study?

Sheehan agreed to Smith's request but insisted he have access to the documents pertaining to this issue that she had garnered for an investigation she did for the Science and Technology Committee in Congress. When asked what exactly Sheehan wanted to see, he indicated he wanted access to "the classified sections of the Project Blue Book."

Astoundingly, Daniel was granted access.

He was not allowed to take notes, photos, or carry anything into the room containing the documents or out with him when he left the Library of Congress where the documents were stored. After proceeding through multiple layers of security, he was shown to the room with microfiche machines. Before entering, he was told he could not take his briefcase with him. Almost absent-mindedly, he had a yellow legal pad under his arm that wasn't confiscated before he entered the room. He proceeded through small canisters of film. It didn't take long to find proof.

He discovered photos of what appeared to be a disc-shaped craft. It had crashed.

"It had hit into this field and had dug up, kind of plowed this kind of trough through this field. It was wedged into the side of this bank. There was snow all around the picture. The vehicle was wedged into the side of this mud-like embankment -- kind of up at an angle."

The men taking photos were unmistakably, in Sheehan's mind, American Air Force personnel.

As Sheehan continued to review the film, he discovered a close-up of the craft that revealed symbols or glyphs written on the craft. He thought it was an insignia. He wanted to record what he saw, but remembered he was not allowed to take notes. He knew it was likely his legal pad would be discovered when he left the room and the guards would examine it to see if he had taken notes. However, since he wanted those insignias, he had to find a way to record them. He decided to arrange the cardboard backing of his legal pad in such a way against the microfiche screen so he could trace the symbols. When he left the top-secret document room, he was searched. His pad was taken and flipped through for notes. Finding none, and not noticing the traced symbols on the cardboard backing of the yellow pad, it was returned to him by the guards and Sheehan left.

Sheehan not only revealed to Marcia Smith what he had found but he also revealed the information to his boss at the Jesuit National Headquarters. Meetings and conventions were convened on the issue. Reports were written. President Carter saw at least one of the reports made by Marcia Smith, which included information from Daniel Sheehan's discoveries.

Sheehan still has the yellow notepad with the symbols but says no analysis has been done on the symbols.

Oh, are you wondering about the reports Marcia Smith finished after Daniel Sheehan's discovery and what they said? Well, Sheehan read them and according to Sheehan:

"The one report that Marcia showed me on extraterrestrial phenomena actually stated that it was the conclusion of the Library of Congress, Science and Technology Division, that from two to six, at least, other highly-intelligent, technologically-developed civilizations exist right within our own galaxy." [http://www.presidentialufo.com/marcia_smith_story.htm]

"The second report," says Sheehan, "they had drawings of different shapes of UFOs that have been sighted," continued Sheehan. "They didn't site any particular cases, but they said that they believed there was a significant number of instances where the official United States Air Force investigations were unable to discount the possibility that one or more of these vehicles was actually from one of these extraterrestrial civilizations. They put this together, and sent it over to the President. I ended up seeing a copy of it."

The Carter Administration, though not bringing about Full Disclosure, had a very busy four years of UFO phenomena. I can't help but wonder if he had had another term in office, what could have come of all of this? <bio>Doug Bower - My New Book: I WAS ABDUCTED BY ALIENS But They Threw Me Back http://www.lulu.com/content/1693588 </bio>

There are many different varieties of releases available in the market amongst bowhunting equipment. Whether you are hunting for game or competing in a 3 dimensional shooting session, the type of release chosen will differ accordingly.

Carter releases:

The Back Strap varieties of release bowhunting equipment manufactured by Carter company is a reputable range of releases. Unlike other brands which focus on shots based on punching, this release focuses on shots obtained through pulling. The release bowhunting equipment is actually resistance activated and this enables facilitates buck fever and target panic situations.
So you bought into all of the advertised benefits of owning a hybrid vehicle. You now feel like your carbon footprint is a little smaller and you have seen the benefits of saving money on gas after driving around your new fuel efficient car. But have you had to fix your hybrid yet? An even better question -- how much will it cost to fix a hybrid? This is an issue that many new hybrid owners are now having deal primarily because of two reasons:

1. Hybrid parts are more complex and as a result are much more expensive to purchase.

2. They are more expensive to work on. Mechanics tasked to work on hybrids need special training which then trickles down to the customer in terms of the cost of labor. The mechanics of these vehicles it turns out are incredibly complex.

Hybrid Car Repair -- This Isn't Your Father's Repair Shop

First and foremost you have at the core design of a hybrid car all the parts and mechanics of a conventional gas powered vehicle. Added to that are all the intricate elements designed to make this a hybrid vehicle. The simple task of moving a hybrid car from the lot into a vehicle shop could create an electrical charge that could actually shock the mechanic. The mechanic entering into the repair of one of these vehicles has to arm himself/herself with the knowledge of things like regenerative brakes, capacitors and a control system that combines electrical and gas propulsion. For mechanics at dealerships and car rental repair shops this is no longer a "pop the hood" situation.

Fixing A Hybrid -- Parts, Labor and Apprehension

It's a common phrase heard in the repair shop, "Hybrid car repair is scary." What does that mean for the proud owner of one of these vehicles that feels like they're doing something better for the environment and for their wallets? It means that they should know that before being sold on the aforementioned benefits they should know things like:

• Repair shops have to buy original equipment parts for hybrids and not the more affordable aftermarket stock parts.
• And the hour charge is close to $100 in labor.

Ideally as these cars become more accessible to everyone and are sold and rented more then you will stand a better chance of seeing these costs decrease. Is there anything you can do to protect yourself from these expensive costs? Good insurance, even though it may seem like a costly protection can help offset those costs. Another benefit is that currently, hybrid cars are not ranking up heavy statistics in terms of breaking down. The most important things for hybrid owners and people interested in buying a fuel efficient vehicle know is that dealerships and rental car companies already know that currently they have to budget for higher costs in terms of repairing these new cars. Know what you're getting into, do your research and get all the facts on your particular hybrid so then when the time comes to actually get that repair, it you'll be prepared to the cost.<bio>Car Rental Norcross Rent Car Norcross</bio>

You may have a couple of woodworking projects in mind, such a building a hutch, perhaps laying flooring in your home. The first question that comes to mind is what is the right kind of wood for the particular job? This question becomes easier to answer once you understand a bit about the unique characteristics and qualities of each hardwood.

Hardwood is lumber that comes from hardwood trees, which are those that have a broad leaf, or produce nuts. In North American, the most popular hardwoods are cherry, maple, walnut, oak and hickory. The climate in North America is conducive for the production of these strong wood trees. The entire group of these trees, taken as a whole, are called "hardwood" trees.

Even though all hardwood is not the same, the lumber industry has taken steps to standardize wood by designating different strengths and grades so that the consumer can know which is the best hardwood for the woodworking project he is contemplating.

The hardest of all hardwoods are pecan and hickory. The strength of hardwood is determined by PSI, which is how much pressure it takes to dent the wood, measured in pounds. For hickory and pecan, it takes 1,820 pounds. The "softest" of the hardwoods is aspen, which takes as little as 350 pounds to mar the wood. The commonly used woods are in the middle, in terms of pounds of pressure, such as maple (1,450), white oak (1,360) and cherry (950 pounds). These measurements are important since they will indicate which hardwoods are best for which project. For flooring, you would want a harder wood than you would need for furniture.

Depending upon the temperature and moisture content of its surroundings, hardwood expands and contracts as an adaptation to its environment. To keep this change in texture to a minimum, hardwoods are dried in a kiln oven to remove a great deal of its moisture content. This will stabilize the amount of expansion and contraction so that it retains its original shape as closely as possible.

The manufacturers of good hardwood take the character of the wood into account when they specify what the wood should be used for. An example of this concept is that Windsor-brand plywood is used as an under flooring and for outside wall bases. Siegal, Lowes, Carter and Dunn, Carter, Lowes and Siegel lumber all carry lumber suited for whatever job you want to do. If you shop on line, you will see that seller such as Lumber Liquidators carry a large stock of hardwood lumber to be used primarily for flooring applications.

You have to decide carefully about the kind of lumber you are going to use for each project, and especially about how you want the finished product to look. Even though the variation in how strong or durable different hardwoods are, the finished appearance can differ greatly and so you have to decide whether you prefer the rough look of white oak or the softer finish of maple. Since hardwoods are usually stained to any color you may like, it is the grain that will decide what the end product will look like. <bio>Vince Paxton frequently makes articles on issues similar to lumber prices and lumber types. You can find his publications over at http://www.insidewoodworking.com/lumber/hardwoodlumber.html and many different sources for hardwood lumber news. </bio>

Occurring on the 1st Sunday that comes after Labor Day, the National Grandparents Day is celebrated in both Canada and the United States as a secular holiday. Its origins can be traced back to its first commemoration back in 1978. Thanks to Marian McQuade of West Virginia, the US Senate, President Carter and Senator Alphonse D'Amato, many people get a special day to celebrate their grandparents. Many people have come to recognize her (Marian McQuade) as the founder of this day. Her goal to educate other members of the community on the contributions of senior citizens in society and future contributions they are willing to make did not fall on deaf ears. She went further to recommend that the young adopt a senior member of the society for a lifetime of experience and caring. They were to offer not material benefits for just a day or a year but learn from them as long as they were alive.

In that same year, Jennings Randolph, a Senator of the Democratic Party in West Virginia, introduced a written motion in the Senate to turn this day into a public holiday. It was not until 1978 that the United States Congress agreed to pass the legislation proclaiming National Grandparents Day to be commemorated on the Sunday that comes after the Labor Day celebrations. Jimmy Carter, who was the sitting president, then signed the proclamation. The statute said in part that the day had been reserved with the purpose of honoring grandparents and giving them an opportunity to express love for their children's children and help them become aware of the guidance, strength and information that senior members of the community can offer to the youth. National Grandparents Day also has a recognized official song by Johnny Prill, "A Song For Grandma and GrandPa". The forget-me-not flower is recognized as the official flower for this day.

In Canada, the National Grandparents Day was recognized and legislation was passed in 1995. Sarkis Assadourian, an Armenian-Canadian politician of the Liberal party of Canada known for his great support of Toronto's Armenian community and now serving as the official government judge in the city of Toronto, moved Motion Number 273. The motion, in part stated that the House of Commons, in its opinion, had urged the Government to consider the proposal passed to designate the second Sunday of each September as the day to commemorate Grandparents Day. The motion further showed that the purpose of that day was to acknowledge the important role that family structures play in the upbringing, education, and nurturing of children in the society. The agreed motion was passed making the day a National holiday in Canada.

National Grandparents Day is an important day to celebrate intergenerational relationships and has become a day to organize events that bring families and communities together. This has also become a day for children to show their love and appreciation for their grandparents and senior members of the community. This in turn makes them feel valued. The legacy of McQuade will continue to inspire both the young and the old to honor each other.<bio>Find helpful and creative ideas for parents and grandparents while you shop our great selection of kids furniture (including our popular toddler beds and cots) and classic toys.
Hey ladies -- ever been dumped, had your heart broken or other wise been tramped upon by a man? Of course you have -- we all have. And we are ALL looking for something just a little bit better (ok, maybe a WHOLE LOT better!) than what we just left. But how can we keep history from repeating itself? How can we start meeting quality men, and then after meeting them, hook them and reel them in for the trophy shot? Well, I have some tips to share with you on that, so put your ears on....

Tired of the Bars and Clubs scene to meet the guys? Me too. So let's expand our view for a moment and think outside the box. Here are some great places to meet guys that do not include loud obnoxious drunks, broken ear drums, and the typical pawing Charlie.

1. Co-Ed sports leagues and fitness clubs! Guys love sports, we know that, and they will totally dig a chick that loves sports too. Or better yet -- how about a part time JOB at the local club?

2. Shoot pool! (Ok, this may include the obnoxious drunk, so be prepared)

3. Laundromats! Do your laundry on a Friday night or Saturday, it's a great ice-breaker, and remember, no granny- panties!

4. Go back to school! Check out the classes that the GUYS usually take like engineering, auto mechanics, etc. If you don't want to join, volunteer to be a class aid.

5. Get a dog and start walking in the park -- and bring a Frisbee!

6. Go online! There are all kinds of places you can get a free profile (check out http://www.wheretogetthescoop.com for 10 online dating sites that offer free profiles)

7. Crash a wedding

8. Go to graduations at the local college

9. Attend sporting events and football parties at BW3s or your local sports club (goes along w/#1)

10. Home Depot or your local Lowes -- troll the isles, pretend to need help, or attend a free class on how to tile your bathroom floor!

Ok -- so you have met him (finally, right?). Now what? Here is where most of us seem to need the help. One of the most important things a woman can do in a relationship to end it right then and there is to "lose her cool". And I am not talking about just flipping out and telling him what a worthless turd he is for forgetting your anniversary. I mean the "needy Nancy" and the "paranoid Patty" and the "Longing Lucy" or "Clingy Caroline". Let's go over just a couple tips.

Guys want someone who is cucumber cool when they want cool, and tamale hot when they want it hot. The trick is knowing which one they want at which time, right? Exactly. One of the keys to this is following his cues and his body language, and making sure that he understands what you are wanting, looking for and needing, and that YOU understand the same from him. Never -- ever -- assume that just because you think you have a relationship, that you do. Let's face it ladies, guys are clueless and we need to accept this. Follow his cues and understand his needs, and give him the space he needs when he needs it. But make sure that YOU get space too, even if you don't think you need it! and#61514;

Next -- (you'll like this one) do NOT give him everything he wants!! Don't be a pushover! And by this I do not mean to try to run the relationship like a Nazi. I just mean to -- be unavailable sometimes, hold that proverbial "carrot" out there over his head just a little out of reach. If you start out giving him everything he wants, you will have to either a) keep it up or b) end it at some point and he will wonder where his wonderful little slave went. Don't start it!

Ok, that being said, there is a lot more advice out there for women that is geared specifically toward women. Women need dating advice! There is a guy out there named Christian Carter who has developed and entire program based specifically on dating advice for women, as well as relationship advice once you are in it. Christian Carter offers free newsletters, too, so you do not have to pay for some killer dating advice. <bio>Maureen owns several websites on dating, attraction and relationship advice. She has been involved in the dating industry in one form or another for most of her adult life, and has found, through much trial and error, who is who on the dating scenes and the people to go to in to get "In the Know". They also allow other staff to complete some activities you are currently doing, exactly as you want them done -- again freeing more of your valuable time.

As your selling skills and systems and methods improve, your workload decreases, but your results will increase! You need to implement these systems now to give your business the best opportunity to grow and succeed.

Systems are what make your business work for you, rather than you work for your business. They are a simple and logical process that guides your business and its employees to effectively manage and monitor their activity. It gives consistent results and should be easy to use and manage.

In essence, a system is a repeatable process that produces a profit.

In a previous article, I wrote about how really only 20% of the activities you complete in your business generate 80% of the income for your business and they're the activities you need to concentrate on. So the other tasks should be delegated -- either outsourced or done by staff. These are the first tasks you need to develop a system for.

Not all systems are written!

- An important point which far too few people realize. Business owners always say to me they don't have time to write all these things down. GOOD! Not all systems need to be written and even the ones that are should be done in other media also as different people learn different ways. Some need to read, but some prefer audio or video.

Lets say you were training a staff member and knew that within a short time you expected to be hiring more staff. You would probably have a lot of information to teach this new person. Too much information for you to sit down and type it all. So why not give the new staff member a video camera and get him to follow you around filming you?

You now only have to go over each task once. The staff member can then always watch through parts of the video again for any of the tasks he forgot how to do. More importantly, any new person joining your business can watch the same video and gain the same information all without you having to do any more work!

Now all you need to do is test the system.

Take someone who is not familiar with the process, provide them with the written, audio and / or video documentation on the procedure and provide the training you deem necessary to perform that task, then ask them to do it.

If the task is not completed exactly as you want it, the failing is most likely with your system and not with the individual following it. Ask for feedback. Find out where the confusion or misunderstanding was within the document.

Once refined, you have a proven system. The proven systems allow you to put people into position and train them to use the system effectively to get the desired result in your business. Thus your business is not dependant on any one person within the company and if done correctly, can be run the way you want it, without you having to be there!

I can help you with that and every aspect of your business through my step by step, hand holding mentoring program.

At this site you can access over $2,000 of bonuses for FREE to help you and your business.

© Andrew Carter 2008 -- not to be reproduced without including the Authors Bio with the article.<bio>Andrew Carter - the Author of the business book Secrets To Retail Riches, is a Business building and marketing specialist who shows retail businesses how to recession proof their Business, with proven techniques that are easy to implement and highly effective and generate more income for less effort.
Stock research normally tells us that pick the right stocks and it really doesn't matter what the market does. When you survey history however, this seemingly true statement turns out not to be the case. You can have all the stock research in the world, but if the market goes against you, it doesn't matter.

The stock market is making new highs with the Dow Jones Industrial Average piercing the 12000 barrier for the first time since the Dow Jones was created. The question now becomes which way is the next 1000 or 2000 points, up or down. The market has always told us that it doesn't like uncertainty. Far better is the devil you know, than the devil you don't know.

The massive uncertainty facing the country is which way does Iraq go? Iraq is eating at the social fabric of this country. Traditionally, Presidents are held on a short leash when it comes to wars, and entanglements. Yes, as a country we have always fully supported the President initially, as we rally around the flag. As time moves on, Americans become impatient with their Presidents. This has been true in the past, and it is true today. Patriotism will only carry a President so far. Harry Truman was a very popular President at the end of World War II. A year into the Korean War, he saw his approval ratings fall to such lows that he couldn't even think of running again for the Presidency in 1952.

Viet Nam destroyed Lyndon Johnson's Presidency in spite of being elected up until then, by the largest popular vote landslide in history, almost 16 million more votes than his opponent. Jimmy Carter found himself entangled by the Iranian hostage situation, and lost his Presidency as a direct result. During the last 2 weeks of the 1980 election, I was told by Ronald Reagan's campaign manager that if Carter secured the release of the hostages from Iran, Carter would win the election. The release never came, and Carter was driven out of office in a landslide.

We now see President Bush entangled by the Iraqi conflict. How does the war work itself out from this point forward? All Washington insiders if quizzed privately would tell you that the President is between a rock, and hard place. The wish that the Iraq people would embrace freedom, and democracy has turned out to be a Presidential vision that the Iraq people never shared, or embraced.

Democracy is every Iraqis' second choice. If you are a Kurd, your first choice is that the Kurds be in power, and you are willing to fight and wage terror for that goal. The same is true of the majority based Shia, and the minority based Sunnis. When Saddam Hussein was in power there was an old story, "Did Saddam make Iraq, or did Iraq make Saddam." It is inconceivable to believe, but nevertheless may be true that only a despotic, merciless dictator like Saddam Hussein could shape Iraq into a country. In Saddam's case, he embraced and required terror to govern.

How does Iraq play out?

Enter the Iraq Study Group (ISG), a group headed by former Secretary of State James Baker, and former Democratic Congressman Lee Hamilton. The public purpose of the group doesn't matter, the private purpose does. This President knows that his policies in Iraq have FAILED. He needs political cover to effectuate massive change. The Iraq Study Group will give him that cover. They will probably propose everything, and anything that is different from the current course we are on.

If the President is shrewd enough, he will embrace those portions that suit his purpose. That purpose is to change our current policies. The President also recognizes that the momentum this November is for the Democrats to take over the House, and perhaps come close to taking the Senate. As I write this, the Senate is in play, which means the Senate could also go either way. If either chamber of Congress changes party affiliation, the President's hands could be tied severely.

Only the Congress has the authority vested in it constitutionally to appropriate and authorize the spending of funds. We could reach a point in time where spending for our military activities in Iraq will not be authorized. President Bush must act before we get to that point. The Iraq Study Group will provide the alternatives that this Administration will pick and choose from, to change our direction and get us out of the mess, which we have put ourselves in.

Two of the issues the ISG must deal with is why do we have the same number of troops (140,000) when the police and military in Iraq now number 300,000 plus. A few years ago, there were no police and the military was sent home - what gives? A second question is how do we leave Iraq, and not destabilize the country to the point where we throw the country into the hands of Iraq's long-time enemy, Iran.

We are in a dilemma which is defined as a situation requiring the choice of two equally undesirable alternatives. The President will have to act very quickly after the election. He will not have much time if there is a new party in control in either chamber of Congress. The stock market will begin to act in a downward manner due to the uncertainty as to future policy choices.

We will probably have to consult and deal with both Syria and Iran, even though we do not want to. Both countries are major players in the region. Our dealings will be independent of other policy considerations involving Iran's desire to possess nuclear armaments. The great experiment in creating democracy in Iraq is coming to an end. It could have worked, but the steps necessary had a brief window of opportunity, and that window has now closed.

The disbanding of the Iraq army years ago, along with the police, plus the firing of the top layers of the people who ran the government were all retrospectively MISTAKES. There is NO GOING BACK to revisit them. When the Iraq Study Group makes its recommendations after the November election, President Bush will have a brief window with political cover to change directions. If he does, the stock market in this country will more than likely continue to prosper. If he doesn't take decisive and long overdue action, all bets are off.

Goodbye and Good Luck

Richard Stoyeck http://www.stocksatbottom.com <bio>Richard Stoyeck's background includes being a limited partner at Bear Stearns, Senior VP at Lehman Brothers, Kuhn Loeb, Arthur Andersen, and KPMG.
Located in Southwest Virginia, the Crooked Road is more than just a driving route. This 200-mile heritage music trail winds through Appalachia and connects music venues and heritage sites that highlight the traditional music of the region; the gospel, bluegrass and mountain music that's been passed down for generations by local families. Along the way you'll find stage shows, outdoor concerts, festivals, Appalachian crafts, galleries and some great scenery; however it's the locals who bring the Crooked Road to life. Be it the banjo maker in Galax or the quilter in Floyd, they all have a story to tell. And part of the whole Crooked Road experience is simply taking the time to listen.

Technically the Crooked Road isn't just one road, but a route composed of many state routes and local roads. The best starting point is the eastern terminus, Rocky Point; which is located 25 miles south of Roanoke. Just take VA 40 west towards Ferrum and follow the Crooked Road signs. Not only is this the easiest access point, but Ferrum makes a great first stop; as the Blue Ridge Institute and Museum offers a good overview on the regional heritage.

Located on the campus of Ferrum College, the Blue Ridge Institute and Museum features indoor gallery space plus an outdoor heritage farm museum. The gallery space hosts exhibitions which highlight the people and heritage of the region. There is level access to the museum, barrier-free access throughout the galleries and plenty of accessible parking outside.

Across the street, take some time to look through the Farm Museum which has gravel and dirt pathways, ramps up to the barns and a few steps up into the farmhouse. The pathways are doable for most people in dry weather and even though you can't access every display, you can still get a good feel for what Virginia farm life was like back in 1800.

Traveling west on the Crooked Road, you'll cross the Blue Ridge Parkway and enter Floyd County. Here's where a little diversion is in order. Although it's not on the official route, I highly recommend at least a short drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, as it's very scenic. Either way, a stop is Floyd is a must; and if you are looking for overnight accommodations, look no further than the Oak Haven Lodge.

Opened in 2003, this 10-room rustic lodge features ramp access to the front porch and office, with accessible parking available in a gravel parking area next to the office. Room 1 is located downstairs and has wide doorways, two double beds, good pathway access and a 5-foot turnaround in the bathroom. Access features in the bathroom include a low-step shower, a roll-under sink, grab bars in the shower and around the toilet and a portable shower chair. A commode chair is also available upon request. All this for a very affordable $65 per night.

Continuing west, you'll pass through Galax and Abingdon before coming to Bristol. Here you'll find the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance Museum, which features exhibits on the roots of country music and the musicians that helped shape the genre. Access is excellent throughout the museum, with a level entrance and barrier-free access to all the exhibits. Best of all, admission is free.

There's plenty of live music to be had in Bristol too, with weekly concerts at the Birthplace of Country Music Mural on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights and a Thursday morning jam session at the Star Barbershop on State Street. All of these musical events are free and open to the public. And as far as access goes, there is good wheelchair-access to the seating area at the mural and level access to the Star Barbershop.

Finally, no matter what you do on your Crooked Road adventure, save time for a visit to the Carter Family Fold for a Saturday night concert. Granted some advance planning is required to plan a Saturday night stay near the Hiltons, but fortunately it's only about 20 minutes from Bristol.

Located on the AP and Sara Carter homestead, the Carter Family Fold is actually a large theater; and in keeping with tradition, only acoustic instruments are allowed and no alcohol is served. That said, each week there's a different headliner, so no two shows are exactly alike. The energy however, is ever present.

Accessible parking is located near the theater with level access to the entrance. Accessible seating (with companion seating) is available up font and it's the only reserved seating in the house. Indeed the front seats are the ones with an up-close look at all the action, because once the music starts, the area in front of the stage turns into a massive dance floor. But again, that's all part of the show. All in all it's great place to mix with the locals and an excellent opportunity to enjoy a real slice of Crooked Road culture. <bio>Candy Harrington covers accessible travel and is the author of 101 Accessible Vacations; Travel Ideas for Wheelers and Slow Walkers. Many businesses loose the sale at this point, because they are not aware of the basic techniques of selling.

Humans are predisposed to avoid pain and receive pleasure and this drives everything we do. Customers buy products or services to give them pleasure or avoid pain.
A common mistake that website owners make when trying to drive traffic to their sites, is to try to compete for the most popular keywords within their niche.

Let the novices fight over these keywords. They will have virtually zero chance of getting on to page 1 of the major search engines because every man and his dog is trying to use the most popular and competitive search terms.

Just because the Overture/Yahoo keyword selection tool, or Wordtracker says there are no searches for a particular keyword or keyword phrase, that does NOT mean that nobody is using that keyword phrase to look for your product or service.

The above mentioned tools are a first port of call for hundreds of thousands of website owners. However, that means that the keywords that are thrown up are used by thousands of people as well, making them extremely competitive.

Those tools are also skewed in favour of USA results, simply because there are more people in the USA using the tools than anywhere else.

Let me give you an example...

One of the websites that I own is to do with moving to Cyprus to live.

If you type 'Moving to Cyprus' into the Overture/Yahoo keyword selection tool it reports that virtually nobody is using that keyword phrase.

That's because very few people in the USA are looking to move to Cyprus to live.

However, more than a million people a year from the UK and Europe are thinking about moving to another country to live and Cyprus rates in the top 10 destinations that they are considering (Australia is first and Spain second, USA third etc).

The lesson to be learned here is that I get a lot of traffic to my various sites from keyword phrases that are given a zero or low score by these commonly used tools.

So, if you think of a keyword phrase that you think YOU would use for a particular search, don't decide against using it, just because these tools return a supposedly low result.

While others are fighting over the most popular search terms, you can be working smart and driving traffic to your sites using keywords that are being totally ignored by others.

Remember...Work smart not hard!

regards, Roy Carter <bio>No.1 on Google out of 59,400,000 results.
