Most people who visit Aruba never think about seeing some of the unusual things in the area. The rock formations are spectacular to see. One particular formation is the Casibari Boulders. You can talk walking tours through the boulders and experience the feel of what it was like to live in one of these formations. The ancient site of the Ayo Rock formations is another incredible formation to see. It is fascinating to see and explore. It makes one wonder how these huge and heavy boulders survived all these years. It is a unique display of nature to see.

The Aruba sand dunes are another beauty of nature. You will see green, brown and white sands when you visit the dunes. The sand covers the area leaving green coloring from some of the vegetation and browns from the fallen plants. The cacti just love this area and grow to unheard of heights. The California Dunes as they are called are beautiful and were named because of the shipwreck off the shore. An old lighthouse stands on the shore as well. The coastline is beautiful and rocky. Everyone needs to se this incredible sight.

The natural bridge in Aruba is necessary to see. If you get there in time, you will see a beautiful sunset over the horizon. The bridge was twenty-five feet or so above the water and had been there for over one thousands years. In 2005, the bridge disappeared because of a huge wave. You can still see some of the bridge so you can get a picture of what once was. The area surrounding the bridge is just so beautiful. The natural pool is a great place to visit and take a dip. It is a beautiful greenish water and warm. People from everywhere enjoy spending time in this area.

People from everywhere travel to Aruba to see the historical gold mills. People enjoy walking around the hills and seeing the beautiful views of the waters and rock formations. There is the Bushiribana Gold Hills and the Balashi Gold Mill ruins. You will not believe the beauty of the area until you see it first hand. It is incredible how the hills and rock formations were created in the canyons. Cheap holidays to Aruba are indeed special because of the natural beauty and attractions. You cannot see this much natural beauty anywhere else in the world.

You need to stop at Arikok Park and the Donkey Sanctuary as well. The park is beautiful, but the donkey sanctuary is something you do not see every day. You will hear the cal of the donkey and see the donkeys living in a secured environment. The donkeys are often found on hills and wooded areas and come to spend their last days at the sanctuary. You can feed them and pet them. Most of the donkeys are friendly and enjoy a little attention. You will enjoy the unusual and exciting things to do in Aruba when you visit.<bio>If you plan on going to Aruba then make sure you read Holidays To Aruba For Wildlife Seekers.
Of all the continents and places in the world, Australia s perhaps the most unique, unique in the sense that its flora and fauna has evolved separately from the rest of the world over millions of years. Because of this, Australia is a haven for those people looking for something different in their travels. Not only that, Australia also offers much in natural wonders, local cuisine and culture, so here are 10 places you must visit in Australia:

1.) Sydney

Sydney offers much in the way of cultural tourist attractions and much more. Here you can go to the Famous Opera House and be amazed at the collection of marine animals at the marine aquarium at Darling Harbor. You can also take in the city view from Sydney tower and more.

2.) The Pinnacles

The Pinnacles in Nambung National Park is more or less two hundred and fifty miles north of Perth. It is also a must see because of the awesome limestone columns of towering weathered rocks. These rocks were shaped into weird sculptures by the winds and sands.

3.) Jenolan Caves

The Jenolan Caves are a must see for adventurous tourists. It was discovered by a convict bushranger in 1838 and has since then served as one of the most famous tourist attractions in Australia. These subterranean caves numbering more than 300 are all interconnected and filled with weird and wonderful rock formations. Here tour guides will be at your side as you walk around the lighted caves.

4.) Great Ocean Road

The Great Ocean road is a three hour drive from Melbourne city.

Here you will see the rock formations that locals call the twelve apostles. These rock formations are giant monoliths of rock created by the erosion of rock by winds and sands. There are only 8 out of the original twelve left standing however.

5.) Ayers Rocks

Ayers Rocks is the biggest rock monolith in the whole world. In fact, it is considered sacred by the aborigines in this place. Moreover, close to this place is Alice Springs which is the jump point to this destination and the other rock formations named Olga/Kata Tjuta that is composed of 36 dome-like rock formations.

6.) Tasmania It is well-known historically as a prison where British convicts were sent. It became even more popular because of its spectacular variety of natural wonders, flora and fauna. Tasmania is a favorite destination for those wanting to see its pristine beaches, beautiful lagoons and mountains.

7.) Wallaman Falls

Wallaman Falls is located in Girringun National Park. It is the part of Stony Creek, one of the tributaries of the river Herbert, where it plunges down more than 250 meters down a sheer walled gorge. This falls is actually included in the UN's world heritage site registry.

8.) Magnetic Island

Magnetic Island is one of the national parks of Australia because it is home to colonies of kangaroos and koalas. It is also located near the town of Townsville famous for its great beaches. This island was actually named by Captain Cook because it was said that his compass has gone funny when he passed by it.

9.) Whitsundays

Whitsundays is one of the places in Australia with great night life. Here you can have great evenings eating at the restaurants and having fun in the local bars. Also, Whitsundays is known as a great jump point to the Great Barrier Reef and the beautiful island resorts.

10.) Gold Coast

The Gold coast is a great getaway for surf and beach lovers. Here you can spend days at the beaches. You can also spend it perhaps in the theme parks and national parks with its great waterfalls and natural beauty and nights in the local restaurants in the local bars. <bio>Jonathan Williams is the travel writer for Destination Guide TV - the place to share travel videos.
Reef keeping can be a delightful hobby, especially if you have the right balance of coral and fish to create a truly beautiful aquarium. You can go and buy a small tank to start off, but that is not always the best move. You might as well go and get the largest tank that will fit in the space you have available, so that you don't need to bother with upgrades. If you go small at first and then decide to go larger later, you will need to make changes in your lights, filtration system, everything really. So the cost for upgrading to a larger tank will be much more than just acquiring the larger tank later.

And your fish will need room to swim and to grow. If you get a small tank you will have small fish that aren't happy because they have no room. This may lead to aggression between your fish and that doesn't make for a good situation at all.

Once you have decided on your tank size, you will need to consider your filtration system, which is where bacteria live. You want bacteria because it breaks down waste. While you can go with mechanical filters, you could instead use a sand bed to mimic how it works in the ocean. This will cost less and work better, so it's a wise choice. Use three to four inches of a fine sand grain and then top it off with one to two inches of heavier sand to keep the lighter sand down.

Next are your rock formations. You will want to start off with figi because of its combination of shape and price, then you can select other rocks based on aesthetics. Between the sand bed and the rock formations, you will actually have created a natural filtration system which all of the critters you place in your tank will like and so will the bacteria you need.

Note that if you are starting with a new tank, you want uncured rock to help cycle your tank, but if adding to an established tank, make sure you used cured rock, so that your cycle is not interfered with.

The next thing to consider is your overflow system including your water pump, sump, and return tubing. You want to use an overflow box set, and a mag drive is a quality pump choice and you can use a tote for the sump. For the tubing you can just use PVC pipe, it's effective.

You need to have a water conditioning system to keep the water fresh for your livestock and to help prevent algae. The right ingredients include a protein skimmer, an RO TFC water filter, and an RO float valve kit.

Your lighting system is also important. You want a mix of two kinds of bulb: 10,000K white and 460 Actinic (blue) bulbs, and put them on a timer because you only want to keep your tank lit for ten hours a day in order to avoid rapid algae growth.

Now that you have your setup, you can go ahead and add your coral and fish, and enjoy your reef tank! <bio>Salty Supply offers the most premium aquarium supplies on the net.
Aruba is an island of great contrasts. Most people are familiar with the luxurious resorts set along white sand beaches. However, within just a few miles of the pristine beaches and calm water, there is a vast array of unique environments and tourist sites -- from the limestone cliffs and crashing waves found at the California Lighthouse to the otherworldly rock formations of Ayo and Casibari. Many such sites rest along a dirt road that hugs the northern shore of Aruba, a place of natural beauty and remarkable Caribbean views.

Perched on a hilltop at the island's northernmost point, the California Lighthouse offers visitors some of the best views in Aruba. Though the lighthouse is only a short drive from Oranjestad, the surroundings make the area seem like a different world. Instead of the white sand beaches and calm water found in Aruba's capital city, the northwestern shore is known for its craggy coastline and crashing waves. Just inland from the lighthouse are the California Sand Dunes, a series of gently rolling hills with abundant desert vegetation. When taking in the whole area, visitors are often granted an eye-opening glimpse of Aruba's remarkable natural diversity.

East of the California Lighthouse, visitors will find the Alto Vista Chapel perched on a similar bluff overlooking the northern coast. The dirt road connecting the lighthouse and Alto Vista Chapel is a treasure in itself, as it follows the dramatic coastline for several miles. Yet, while there are a number of great viewpoints along the road, the chapel stakes claim to one of Aruba's most beautiful locations. Alto Vista Chapel is the Aruba's oldest house of worship, originally built in 1750 by native Caiquetio Indians and Spanish colonizers. Though the chapel was abandoned for centuries, the new church -- built in the 1950s and painted the same vibrant yellow as the original -- has become a special sanctuary for locals and visitors alike.

After just a short drive to the east along the same coastal road, travelers will come upon the Bushiribana Ruins, the remnants of Aruba's once-booming gold mines. It is believed that the Aruba's gold rush was set in motion by a young boy finding gold scattered in a creek bed near the northern coast. For three decades, locals were encouraged to gather and sell gold themselves. With plenty of gold still being found into the mid-19th century, the Aruba Island Gold Mining Company purchased the rights to much of island's gold-rich land. In 1872, the company finished construction on a large smelter, a facility that dominated the landscape of the northern coast. Within 10 years, the smelter was abandoned, its massive ruins in place to this day. In addition to admiring the relics of the colonial era, visitors can ascend the structure to catch a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea.

Again heading east along the coastal road, travelers will quickly reach the oft-photographed Natural Bridge. Rising 25 feet above the surface of the Caribbean Sea, the limestone arch is a product of the northern shore's punishing surf. The centuries-long natural process has yielded one of Aruba's most enduring landmarks and an excellent location for picnics and relaxation. After snapping a few shots of the windswept sea and the bridge it created, tourists can visit the souvenir shop and refreshment stand to complete the experience.

Heading south from Natural Bridge towards Oranjestad, visitors can take in two groups of bizarre rock formations. The first group, Ayo Rock Formations, rest in a secluded area and exude a truly mystical presence. Used by ancient inhabitants as either a dwelling or place of worship, the Ayo Rock Formations are a series of precariously stacked boulders, many with petroglyphs and other markings. Just a few miles away, the Casibari Rock Formations rise from the desert landscape, captivating everyone who happens to visit. A trail at the site winds through the formations, providing an excellent vantage point of giant stones shaped like birds, dragons and other strange creatures.

Jeep and off-road vehicle rentals provide the most exciting way to see the northern coast of Aruba. Rentals are available throughout Oranjestad and the resort areas at a number of shops or can be arranged through your concierge. If you would rather sit back and enjoy the ride, taxis visit all of the sites along the northern coast and often have affordable rates for day tours.

If you want to experience some of the remarkable natural diversity that Aruba is known for, the northern shore is one of the best places to start. As the area can be toured in a single day, you and your family will still have plenty of time to enjoy the beaches and luxurious amenities that drew you to this fantastic island.<bio>Justin Burch writes articles about travel in Aruba for the Marriott Resorts.</bio>

There are many youth soccer formation as you will no doubt know, and generally formations are used to exploit and utilise the relative strengths of your players to their best advantage. Small sided soccer games are no different, whether it is 5-a-side or futsal that you are playing, the game is always face paced, and all players are involved in the action nearly all the time. 5-a-side is particularly good for younger players as they will get far greater involvement in the game and get a lot more ball touches than compared with a larger scale game such as 11 a side. However as there are only 5 players in a team, which consists of one goalkeeper and four outfield players, the number of formations that are possible are limited, particularly given the fast paced nature of 5-a-side and that generally all players are involved at any one time.

It is always good to play to a plan or tactic, and with 5 a side competitions, including Futsal and indoor soccer, there are generally 2 formations that used, one for attack and one for defense. Both formations confirm to the principles of play, something that you probably should look up at some point.

Attacking Formation in 5-a-side game

When attacking the best formation is a diamond, or a 1-2-1 formation. That is

* One central defender
* Two wide midfielders
* One central striker

The object is to play the ball to the central strikers' feet who lays the ball off to either of the wide midfielders, who will have a shot on goal towards the far post.

The non receiving midfielder makes a run to the far post to pick up the scraps from the shot on goal.

Defending Formation in 5-a-side game

When defending the best formation is a 3-1 formation. That is

* Three defenders , where one is central and two are positioned wider.
* A central striker

The central defender is generally used to mark the oppositions central striker and the wide defenders give the central defender support when needed and also and provide cover for any balls that are played wide to the oppositions wide midfielders.

The central striker should remain forward to ensure that the opposition keep a defender back

The characteristics of the players are:

Central Defender -- strong defensive skills, good tackler and technically capable

Midfielders -- very fit and fast players with good ball control.. The midfielders should be very creative players with good foot skills, good vision and shooting capability.

Striker -- able to shield and hold the ball with good layoff skills to the midfielders

It is important to get your team to follow a strategy, and 5 a side or futsal is no exception, despite the small numbers of players per team and the fact that players are involved almost evry momeent of the game.By following the simple guidelines above will help your players and team play better, so good luck with your team and stick to the plan, it will work.<bio>Nigel Reed has been involved in soccer during the 60's, 70's and 80's as a player and has been coaching youth soccer in Australia since 2000.
Youth soccer formations generally follow the same style as used in advanced competition, but some of the roles of players is simplified to suit the ability, skill and maturity of the players. For instance it is not often that you will see an overlapping fullback in the under 10 competition. The particular formation that you use for your team is dependent on a number of factors, such as:

* The ability and skill level of your players,
* The physical attributes of your players,
* The current score in the game,
* The importance of the game,
* The opposition.

The opposition has had a marked effect on the formations that I have used, particularly if they have a strength that needs to be negated, For instance, we played a team last year that had an outstanding left sided midfielder, that was skilful, fast and creative. To negate this player and stop him "romping" through our defence, I adjusted the formation so that an extra player was positioned in the defence, in order that two defenders covered this player whenever that player received the ball. So as you can see, whilst you may start with a particular formation and tactic in mind, you may need to adjust it based on the conditions of any particular game.

The 4-4-2 Formation

The 4-4-2 formation is definitely the most popular youth soccer formation used. It is a very easy formation to understand, having 4 defenders (2 central and 2 wide), 4 midfielders (again 2 central and 2 wide) and 2 strikers or forwards, and one of the easiest to understand. The 4-4-2 has been used by a number of successful international teams, including the England team of 1966 that won the world cup.

One of the reasons for the popularity of this soccer formation, even at youth level is its simplicity and its versatility. It is simple to describe the roles of each of the players, and to give them fairly simple instructions of the role that they should play in the team. eg The 2 forwards should remain central, and face the midfielders to lay the ball back to a midfielder and then organise one to run to the near post and one to the far post. Showing the forwards what is expected can be covered in one training session. It is also easy to cover the role of the defenders, where it is common for one of the central defenders to act as a "sweeper". In other words, if the attack is coming down our left hand side, the left full back will be providing the initial pressure to the oppositions attacker, and the sweeper will provide support for the left full back so that if the attack gets past the initial or first defender the sweeper is there ready to tackle or clear the ball away.

The 4-4-2 is also a very versatile formation. It is easy to change the 4-4-2 formation to a 3-5-2 by simply moving a defender up to the midfield. Naturally, the roles of the defenders changes when this happens, as does the roles of the midfielders, but it is a relatively easy transition to make. The 4-4-2 formation is also easily transformed into a 4-3-3 formation by simply moving a midfielder into the attack

Here is a list of the common youth soccer formations:

1. The 4-4-2. The most common and versatile formation as desribed above is a relatively simple and versatile formation, and very popular as a youth soccer formation

2. 4-3-3 A fairly attacking formation that usually uses the central corridor as the main channel for attacking and defending

3. The 3-5-2 Generally used when there is an abundance of midfielders and the 3 defenders are very strong defensively

4. The 3-4-3 is another attacking formation that is used when the defenders are very strong, the midfielders are of normal ability and the forwards are very strong. This formation is particularly useful to exploit a weak defence

5. The 4-5-1 a fairly defensive formation that be incorporated to "close up" the game to ensure that the existing score line stands

Conclusion

For Youth Soccer Formations, I would advise getting to know and understand the 4-4-2, basically for its ease of understanding and it versatility to progress to more complex formations. So knowing and understand the 4-4-2 while put you in good shape for the progression through youth soccer formations.

Be sure to see my website for more information on youth soccer formations and the roles of players at http://www.coaching-youth-soccer-for-success.com/youth-soccer-formations.html<bio>Nigel Reed has been involved in soccer during the 60's, 70's and 80's as a player and has been coaching youth soccer in Australia since 2000.
A rock garden design is a great choice for beauty and elegance simply because rocks are wonderful to look at. We enjoy rock and stone in nature, so why not bring that beauty into your own yard with a stunning rock garden design. However, if you are thinking seriously about this, then I strongly urge you to read a book or two on the topic, look over this site for information, and plan very carefully before you proceed with your project. Why is that, you ask? Because rock gardens are difficult to redesign once they are in place. Rocks are heavy making any structural changes highly undesirable. Most gardeners who implement a rock garden design rarely change it. The design will remain as it is for many years.

One tip to help in designing your garden is to first think about what you like to plant. Don't think about the rocks at first. Think about what you enjoy growing and what you have time to grow. Do you like shade plants, or ones that thrive in sunlight? Do you enjoy shrubs or flowers? After you are clear about what you will plant in your garden, then you can start to consider a suitable rock garden design. For example, if you enjoy shade-loving plants, you are going to want to leave the shady spots available for growing while the portions where you place the rocks will be where the sun shines. The safest rock garden design will leave soil open in both shady and sunny areas. You don't want to expend great effort in designing a garden with no shady spots for growing only to find in a couple years that you want to experiment with shade-loving plants. Leave yourself some options in the rock garden design you choose because most likely your rock garden design will be permanent.

Another thing to strongly consider in the planning of your rock garden design is the location of paths. Paths should not be something you throw in after you've thought of all the other aspects of your rock garden design. Paths should be put in to the design from the beginning. When thinking about where the paths are going to go, you need to think about where the sunlight is going to be through out the day. Do you want your paths in the sun, in the shade, or both? This is also important when thinking about what you will plant along the edges of the paths. Many rock garden designs begin with the paths first and proceed from them, adding in the rock and plant placement afterwards.

A rock garden design can be a practical time-saving and elegant choice for your garden in the long term as long as you take special care in planning it out before execution. The rock garden design will last for years to come and require very little effort in maintaining. Most of your time in this kind of garden will depend on the variety of plants and shrubs you decide to populate it with. <bio>Jonathan writes on gardening topics for http://www.elegant-garden-design.com. </bio>

A rock garden design, however, not only looks great but it can be practical as well.

Every yard has that awful area where everything refuses to grow. You've tried everything. Grass may grow there for a few days only to dry up and disappear. The flowers and plants wilt away after only a few days or weeks. There is always that spot of the yard where nature just refuses to cooperate. The rock garden design is the perfect solution for this situation. If you know what you are doing, a pile of rocks can be made up to make your once uncooperative area look elegantly beautiful.

Now, a good rock garden design isn't achieved by just throwing a pile of rocks down in some area. It's takes a bit of know-how and planning.

First of all, you need to be sure that your rock garden design will be able to stand up to the harshest of rain storms. This requires preparing the land so the water runs off properly. However, you'll want to prepare in a way so that the water doesn't take the rocks with it. The best approach is to make sure that water doesn't pool up on the area. You'll also want to be sure that any slope is not so steep that the soil beneath your rocks will erode.

Second, you don't just want to throw the rocks down in any old fashion. You want to be a little artistic. The rock garden design you choose will depend a lot on where the area for the garden is. Is it an isolated area? Is it near a tree? Is it flat, sloped or hilly? The terrain can be used for a starting point for your rock garden design. For example, a possible approach would be to make the rock look like it is part of a huge bolder most of which is underground.

Another cool rock garden design would be to choose two, three or four different kinds and colors of rocks and place them in some pattern that you enjoy. Geometric shapes are often nice, or you could tile it like a checkerboard.

Another rock garden design approach could be used to raise a sloped portion of your yard, usually called terracing, so it's level with the rest of your yard. With this approach, you would make a rock wall around the area that is sloped. The wall needs to be solid and sturdy, and both ends of the wall will meet up with the rest of the yard. Then you will in the area with good soil and plant grass.

Whatever you decide to do for a rock garden design is to plan carefully. If you do it right, you will rarely need to maintain it and it will give esthetic joy and pleasure for years to come. <bio>Jonathan writes on gardening topics for http://www.elegant-garden-design.com. </bio>

South Carolina is a very scenic and quiet state. Finding a great campground is not very hard, because there are quite a few. However depending on what kind of things you like to do while camping like hiking, fishing, canoeing, sleeping in a tent, or just watching nature, you will want to try to find a campground that offers what you like. Here are the top 5 places to go camping in South Carolina:

Burrells Ford Campground (Walhalla, SC) -- This campground is set on the Chattooga river, which has been declared as a wild and scenic river. This means that there is no auto access to the campground. I think this is great, because it makes the land more natural and less crowded. However you will not have very many amenities available, so if your idea of camping is staying in a hotel, you probably will not make it here.

Table Rock State Park (Pickens, SC) -- This campground is full of wilderness someone would like to see while camping, but it also offers a few more amenities than some sites. All of the camp sites have water and electrical hookups, so this is a wonderful campground for RVs.

Devils Fork State Park (Pickens, SC) -- Devils Fork State Park is set against Lake Jocassee, which is one of the most beautiful lakes in South Carolina. This campground is set in an amazing wooded area, with camp sites right down by the lake.

If you like to be near the water while you are camping, then this is the campground for you.

Jones Gap State Park (Marietta, SC) -- Located in the Mountain Bridge Wilderness area, Jones Gap State Park is one of the most beautiful regions in the United States. This area contains over 400 species of plants; many of them are endangered species that only live in this area.

Keowee -- Toxaway State Natural Area (Sunset, SC) -- This area is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Many different rock formations can be seen throughout the area. If you like a little bit nicer amenities when camping, then this is the area for you, because many log cabins are available for rent throughout the area. <bio>Find discount camping gear at http://www.thompsonoutdoors.com/-c-22.html </bio>

Beautiful by design, these fireplaces have a long tradition of being the option of choice in homes all around the world.

Unlike their brick counterparts, rock fireplaces can work very well in a number of different settings. These designs can be made to look very upscale and "expensive," or they can be crafted to offer a more down-home rustic feel. Those who choose to add rock fireplaces to their home's design will find they have a few options available to them. These include:

Real rock: Real rock fireplaces are generally very expensive, but when they are created correctly they will last for a lifetime and beyond. Many of these fireplaces made hundreds of years ago still handle fires very well and require little maintenance beyond normal cleaning and minor repairs. The pricing involved in real rock comes from the difficulty in finding the right materials and ensuring they are properly cut to create a fireplace.

Fake rock: This is an option that has come and gone in popularity, but the truth is it can be the more affordable way to go. Faux rock fireplaces give the illusion of real rock and they can be rather sturdy by design without costing nearly as much.

Anyone wanting to add a rock fireplace to their home will find they have a few hoops to go through. In most regions, the addition of a fireplace to a house is considered a structural change. Inasmuch, an actual architectural design will likely be required along with a building permit. Inspections, too, will likely follow to ensure the rock fireplaces added have not made the home structurally unsound or unsafe.

Despite some government imposed hurdles, many homeowners choose to add rock fireplaces to older homes and even include them in the original designs of new construction. These creations can add a sense of "home" to a house that few other features can.

The options to actually add a rock fireplace to a house really present in only two fashions. They are:

Contractor: Hiring a contract to add a fireplace to a house can add to the expense involved, but it can also give peace of mind. When a masonry expert does the work, it will generally be guaranteed, which is always a good thing. Plus, these folks know how to handle the permitting process and other things that might be required to ensure the construction is within the code.

Self: Do it yourselfers can and do create rock fireplaces. Many times they will use fake rock to keep the expenses down, but it's a good idea to still ensure all permitting that might be required is taken care of in advance.

Rock fireplaces offer a certain charm that goes beyond brick. By creating a homey feel or an upscale feel, these fireplaces add warmth and even value to a home. <bio>For more information on fireplaces, try visiting http://www.fireplacechoices.com - a website that specializes in providing fireplace related tips, advice and resources including information on rock fireplaces. </bio>

So you want to be a rock climber. You'd like to climb a rock wall or maybe hang off the side of a rock formation somewhere. Well, you'll have several styles to choose from to do it. It could be pretty easy and safe or you could seriously risk your life. Either way, you'll need to know exactly what you're doing. There should be no room for guess work.

Rock climbing is climbing to the summit of a natural rock formation or climbing to the summit of a manmade rock wall. It could also be climbing to a designated endpoint on a climbing route. It doesn't always mean that you've got to reach the very top. A sectional climb like this is referred to as a pitch. If you're climbing several routes consecutively, it would be considered a multi-pitch climb.

Rock climbing has been around for nearly a hundred years. Climbers have encountered many kinds of rock formations all around the world. It's not surprising then that rock climbing has branched into several more distinct styles. Most of the rock climbing done today is considered to be a form of free climbing. This involves using solely one's own physical ability to climb. Equipment is used but only as a means of protection from falling.

and#9702; Aid climbing. The safest method of rock climbing is aid climbing. Equipment is used for all handholds and all footholds, meaning that the climber is assisted every step of the way. When rock climbing first began, this method allowed for ascents that were believed impossible. It was this fantastic enabling quality of aid climbing that helped to bring such interest to the sport.

and#9702; Bouldering. This style of rock climbing involves short climbing routes that are near enough to the ground that a fall should not result in the climber's death. There is no rope or harness but, preferably, there is a helmet. The only other option for protection is to use a bouldering pad (protective mat). The climbing partner (an absolute necessity) on the ground usually directs the location of this pad, aligning it with the climber's location. The climbing partner is also the all-seeing eye that warns the climber of hazardous areas.

and#9702; Top Roping. This is probably the easiest and safest way to free climb. A rope is already secured through an anchor at the top of the climb. A belayer, your climbing partner, holds onto the opposite end of the rope, controlling any give or take while keeping it taut.

and#9702; Lead Climbing. This involves a lead climber who ascends with one end of a rope tied to his harness. The belayer, the leader's partner, holds onto the other end of the rope, giving or taking up slack as needed. The lead climber sets up a belay system as she climbs, securing safety anchors for her partner to use, which is also the fail-safe system to catch the lead climber in case she falls.

If this is a multi-pitch route, the partner picks up the anchor points on the way up. The climbers then proceed to the next pitch. If it's a single pitch, the anchor points are cleaned (taken out) on the way down by the last climber. This is a great way to help keep criticisms at bay that rock climbers litter the natural landscape. All climbers should live the creed: Take nothing, leave nothing.

and#9702; Traditional Climbing and Sport Climbing. These methods of climbing are both styles of lead climbing. The difference is in how the protection is placed. In sport climbing, the anchors are already set. You needn't worry about placing them or removing them. In traditional climbing, the anchors are placed as the climb progresses and then removed by the last climber.

and#9702; Free Solo Climbing. This is also called free soloing. It is the most advanced form of rock climbing. The climber uses nothing for protection. No anchor points, no belay, no rope and no harness. If he falls, he falls unencumbered all the way down. It's quite frightening. Accidents, in this case, are tragic. You've got to be fit, skilled and have great emotional and psychological control to do this successfully. Be more than ready. Be extremely more than ready. Your life depends on it.

If you decide to free solo, be very weary of the weather. The climbing may be going just fine and then it rains. This could prove fatal to this kind of climber. Dry, sunny days are what you want. Don't risk your life.

and#9702; Deep water soloing. The only "safe" method of free soloing is deep water soloing. This is climbing done on sea cliffs over water. While falling into the ocean beneath a cliff face seems better than falling on hard ground, it isn't particularly safe. You've got to be aware of the tides and of prevailing wave action, of submerged boulders or coral islands. Not only that but, if you're climbing more than 80 feet above the surface of the water, the impact alone could prove fatal. Mind your elevation.

and#9702; Indoor Climbing. This designation is for all rock climbing done indoors. Climbing is done on man-made rock climbing walls. Any style is permitted, although not free soloing. You're required to wear and use all safety gear. This would be the safest and most recommended way to learn how to rock climb.

There you have it, all the ways to rock climb. It could be a highly dangerous activity where you risk your life at every moment. Or it could be very safe and protected without worry. Just use caution at all times. And, please, don't ever climb outdoors alone. You know you're just asking for it.<bio>Len Q. is a master blade sharpener.
So you've finally decided to "take the plunge" and start your own saltwater aquarium, but how do you decide what type of fish tank to create? There are three ways to set up a saltwater aquarium: fish only, fish only with live rock, and reef tank.

Fish Only

A fish only saltwater tank is the most affordable option out of the three because it doesn't require an expensive lighting setup. This type of aquarium, however, is not the most simple to put together. Setup can take a long time while you wait for the nitrogen cycle to finish, and maintenance is a hassle, as the tank needs more frequent cleanings. With no live rock in the aquarium, less filtration occurs and you'll have to change the water on a consistent basis to remove excess nitrates from the water.

As you've probably already guessed, a fish only tank is only for fish, although it's possible to add some other critters to the mix, such as snails and hermit crabs, if you want to have more diversity in your saltwater aquarium and more efficiently control the formation of algae.

A fish only aquarium can be a community tank or a semi-aggressive tank. A community tank contains fish that work well together, while a semi-aggressive tank is home to lone fish from a variety of different species. In most cases, however, it's a good idea to stick to the same species in one tank.

Fish Only With Live Rock

This type of aquarium is exactly the same as the fish only tank except for the live rock and superior lighting. Live rock is making a comeback due to its natural filtration features, which is the best way to keep a saltwater aquarium clean and safe for your fish. The organisms that live in and on the rock contribute to the filtration process and aid in the nitrogen cycle. Less nitrates build up in the tank because the porous nature of the live rock filters them out of the water.

Although live rock is an exceptional biological filtration system, your saltwater aquarium will still require maintenance and frequent water changes. Add iodine, calcium, strontium, magnesium, and other minerals on a regular basis to keep the water healthy.

Fiji rock is the best live rock you can get, but it's also the most expensive (live rock doesn't come cheap). Generally, a live rock aquarium requires 1-2 pounds of live rock per aquarium gallon. Prices for live rock vary depending on the region.

Live rock also provides food for your fish.

Reef Tanks

Reef tanks are perfect for invertebrates, corals, and anemones. Most people set up this type of tank for reef keeping =96 if there are any fish in the tank they aren't the main attraction.

This is an expensive type of aquarium to maintain, as invertebrates, corals, and anemones cost a lot to keep.

Only the experienced aquarist sets up a reef tank because they can be difficult to maintain. You have to sustain excellent water conditions, make use of expensive lighting, use reverse osmosis or deionized water, add supplements, and purchase live rock for filtration. <bio>Salty Supply Provides quality Aquarium Supplies at http://www.saltysupply.com </bio>

If you are planning to go to Vegas, you need to purchase a plane ticket so that all you want have to think is where and how you are going to spend all of the money that you have won. You may want to try to see how your luck is at the most popular casinos, which are truly extraordinary. You may also want to go pub, disco or bar hopping. For those women out there, you may want to shop until you cannot shop any more or even tantalize your divine taste buds. There will also be time for you and that special someone to take a nice stroll under the bright florescent lights or explore the well-known strip. You may even be more adventurous and go the great distance just to find something that is interesting and unique in the barren and dry outskirts. In Vegas, there is fun for everyone from couples and families to solo travelers and groups.

The bottom line is that if you want to get the most out of your experience in Vegas, you need to find cheap flights to Vegas so that you can have some extra money on hand.
