Before you can even think about finding a ringing ears cure you must be sure as to why your tinnitus started in the first place. Exposure to noise accounts for more than 80% of all ringing in the ear cases worldwide. Ringing ears can be caused by fireworks, gun shots, industrial equipment or even very noisy factories and if you are surrounded by any of these noises on a daily basis you must use ear protection. Some common ear ringing mistakes:

Care must be taken when using stereo headphones, if the volume is too high, you may generate ear damage and you will hear sounds and noises for days including a ringing in the ear. Sometimes you can stop ringing in the ears when you eliminate or cut down on alcohol and caffeine. Smoking and using smokeless tobacco products may also cause tinnitus by reducing blood flow to the parts of the ear. Regular exercise may prompt a ringing ears cure because it improves blood flow to the structures of the ear. Your excess weight may cause ringing in the ear, because too much weight hampers blood flow.

Studies has shown that tinnitus occurs more frequently in over-weight adults. Vitamin B12 is a vitamin that you should include in your diet to enhance a ringing ears cure. Some studies points to the fact that this vitamin helps to protect the nerves in the inner ear. Milk and dairy products, meat and eggs are good sources of vitamin B12. According to the latest studies there are many remedies for helping tinnitus, but there is no one cure.

Did you know that: Earphones that are played too loud can damage the cochlea and cause ringing in the ear

Researchers are making some progress towards developing a cure for ear ringing. Some researchers claim to be able to reduce the ringing by combining an inner-ear injection of lidocaine. Dr. John J. Shea Jr., MD from the Shea Ear Clinic in Memphis believes that this treatment generally brings a ringing ears cure with some lasting results. Many patients have had a complete elimination of their tinnitus. It is definitely possible to cure ear ringing, but it is unexplainable. Studies indicate that 85% of most patients are able to mask the sounds associated with tinnitus.

When the ear ringing gets overwhelming it helps when you can mask the noise using white noise CD's, fans, running water or even a running washing machine can help. Great results have been achieved by masking the tinnitus noises and using homeopathic treatment remedies together. Let me explain, what you focus on will expand so if you can mask the noise it can allow you to focus on something else besides the ringing this giving your body a chance to allow the homeopathic treatment to work as a ringing ears cure. <bio>Ellen and John Currie have been helping tinnitus sufferers overcome their battle with ear ringing.
A ringing noise in ears is known in medical terms as tinnitus and there is no apparent outside source for this loud noise. The ringing noise in ears you hear comes from within and may be soft or loud. It can be a sizzling, roaring, buzzing, whistling, humming, hissing, blowing, or ringing noise. Some people have even reported hearing water running, air escaping, the inside of a seashell, and musical notes. Alternative terminology is noises or buzzing in the ears, hissing noise in ears, and ringing in the ears. Almost everyone experiences a mild form of tinnitus when you hear sounds in your ears for short periods. Stop the ringing noise in your ears:

It is a very stressful condition when it is constant or repeated and it can intrude with your capability to concentrate or sleep. Studies has not been able to produce an exact cause for why people hear a ringing. Nevertheless, there are many theories floating around among the professionals and non professionals. This ringing can be a symptom of almost any ear condition including wax, ear infections, and injury from loud noises. Antibiotics, aspirin, alcohol, caffeine, and other drugs can lead to buzzing noises. Many times tinnitus is a symptom of high blood pressure, an allergy, or anemia.

A simple tinnitus fact: Exposure to loud noise is the main cause of ringing ears in today's noisy world.

When one has been around loud levels of noise for a long period of time it is very possible that hearing loss and tinnitus may occur. The levels of the ear ringing will get louder in quite places where there is very little background noise. The sounds can not be heard by anyone else and can worsen if your stress levels are not in control. Stress can be a big factor in dealing with tinnitus and the ringing noise in ears, which is the reason why exercise is recommended.

At home there are some things you can do to lessen the ringing noise in ears such as avoiding coffee (caffeine), alcohol, and smoking (nicotine); get plenty of rest and sleep with head propped up to lessen head congestion; at night use competing sounds, such as low-level music, ticking clocks, or other noises.

A humidifier, white noise machine, or nearby running dishwasher, can help to drown out the noises and make it less irritating. A device worn like a hearing aid offers relief in some cases. Even a hearing aid may help lessen ringing noise in ears and amplify outside sounds. Learn how to relax the body because feeling stressed out and anxiousness can worsen the ringing noise in ears. Counseling has helped some to learn to tolerate tinnitus. <bio>Ellen and John Currie have been advising tinnitus sufferers from the tinnitus website http://www.t-gone.com since 1999, we offer both email and telephonic support for sufferers to overcome their battle with ringing noises in the ear. </bio>

When your stress levels are high this can one of the main causes of ringing ears, when we are stressed our body is under attack and our immune system is working overtime. Let me explain, The hypothalamus is a primitive part of the brain situated below the third ventricle. The hypothalamus is responsible for producing essential chemicals needed to make us function normally and is severely affected by shock, grief, and long continued stress. When one is subjected to long periods of stress, shock or grief, those essential chemicals are not produced by the hypothalamus as normal all types of unhealthy conditions can occur and ringing in the ears is just one of these.

One of the most important factors of ringing in ears is the fact that it creates trauma to the person suffering from it and it will affect their family too. The longer it goes on and the more severe the tinnitus, the worse the emotional side effects for the tinnitus sufferer. The mental strain that this condition can cause is exhausting to even the strongest person. It is known that when we are completely run down the levels of tinnitus symptoms seems to rise and get ringing gets louder.

To simply explain it, any ailment that involves hearing problems is likely to exhibit a symptom of ringing in the ears.

Some difficulty in hearing may bring on ringing in the ears because of the absence of sound waves being received by the brain. This instant obliteration of sound waves can cause an erratic action on the part of the brain since it has gotten used to interpreting the sound it receives on a regular basis.

Today's tip to stop ringing ears: After discovering what causes ringing ears in the first place try and avoid more damage to your ears.

Without the regular sound waves that it has to interpret, the brain will try so hard and in the process it short circuits itself, which is then the abnormal sound or so called ringing in the ears that a person with tinnitus can hear. This explains why the ringing noise in the ears is something that can be heard only by the person having it because it is something that happens internally. There are no external factors which causes it hence a person having tinnitus must not expect that other people can hear the noise they are hearing.

Many people with tinnitus, find that it completely interferes with normal daily functions of their lives. People become angry, depressed, withdrawn and afraid to be around people. You may stop going out in public, visiting your friends or family and you may even dread going to work. But keep your head up once you have determined exactly what causes ringing ears you can start a treatment that will help you end your nightmare. When I was introduced these remedies, I had discovered a treatment for tinnitus that was so effective and worked so quickly without any adverse side effects whatsoever, that this was the next best thing to a cure for me.
Many who suffer with tinnitus are not familiar with the correct methods to manage tinnitus and ear ringing. Some believe there is an overnight treatment that can cure most types of tinnitus while some believe that there is no hope for their tinnitus. Well both of these are not right.

There many ways to tinnitus noises. It must start with a very healthy body and immune system. Adequate taking of nutritional supplements is necessary as a supplement. Bioflavonoids, panthothenic acid, magnesium, potassium, manganese and zinc are also advised.

With a very loud ringing in the ears no one can chill out and get a decent night's sleep. If they think there is no solution for this then they must think again. Sometimes it is because the a ringing in the ears sounds they experience are not that intense and they are not bothered by the ringing. While there are also some people with tinnitus whose business family and life is drastically affected because of the very loud noises in the ears that they have. The noises are so loud that some of them would be almost driven to distraction by the consistent ringing sound. There are many tinnitus sufferers that don't bother going for a diagnosis even if they hear an unusual ringing sound in their ears.

As getting sufficient sleep and rest is extremely difficult for a person with very loud ear ringing symptoms , using white noise maskers do help a lot. These are played at a volume higher than the volume of the tinnitus sounds so that it is the white noise that a person with tinnitus hears and not the tinnitus sounds. To assist with treating tinnitus, maskers are CD recordings of white noise, the same sound that is you hear when you listen to an empty radio station. This way a person is able to relax and sleep and forget about the ear ringing sounds.

And while taking the homeopathic treatment, it is best to use tinnitus masking therapy such as white noise CD's to mask the noises and fall asleep. The right homeopathic tinnitus remedies based on the symptoms of the tinnitus are recommended in coordination with the vitamin supplements. <bio>John Currie is an expert in tinnitus and he and his wife run the busiest tinnitus advisory and treatment website on the internet.
It is a vicious cycle because tinnitus causes stress and anxiety and is also worsened by stress and anxiety. Worrying over the tinnitus can cause it to become worse. Lack of sleep due to ringing in the ears leads to fatigue which makes the ear ringing worse. These are just some of the mental and emotional side effects of tinnitus. Expel tinnitus and the roller coaster of emotions:

At times it may be more annoying for people who do not know what is wrong with them or who have non-supportive doctors that tell them to "get over it" or to find a way to live with tinnitus.

Many people with a hissing in the ears, like me, will discover that it completely interferes with natural essential functions of their lives. You may have a hard time concentrating, remembering things, listening to others and focusing on tasks. This makes it nearly impossible to function properly on a job or in society.

Many people with tinnitus go through the same process as people with other medical conditions and disorders. At first you may feel denial, then anger and frustration (especially if you are being told there is no cure and nothing will help) and then you may feel hopeless and depressed. You will think why this had to happen to you and harp on the fact that your life will never be the same. Next comes fear.

You may worry that you will never live a normal life again, fear that this ringing in the ears will cause havoc with your job and your family, fear that you will never be able to enjoy the same things and fear that you are going crazy or that there is something mentally "wrong" with you. At some point along the way if you hope to find relief, you will need to find acceptance.

Acceptance- With acceptance comes the realization that while you do have this condition and there is no cure for ear ringing, that doesn't mean you have to be a victim for the rest of your life.

You will soon come to the realization that there is hope for your tinnitus and that you have stopped focusing on the ear ringing all the time you can allow your body to start the recovery. Also one should also take note of the fact that this roller coaster of emotions does not only effect the tinnitus sufferer but their families as well. <bio>Tinnitus expert John Currie has helped thousands of sufferers via his tinnitus related website.
There may be times that you would hear an unusual ringing in your ears- beware you might be experiencing tinnitus. Tinnitus is a sensation in the ear, which constitutes a feeling of fullness of the ear. You can also feel some sort of pressure in it. The loud ringing within you is also dominant feeling and it is mostly a very long and sustained sound. It could last for just a few seconds but the loud ringing sound is very disturbing. And if you have Meniere's disease and tinnitus strikes it would last for a longer period.

Tinnitus is an ear problem. Most ear problems can be caused of a number of factors of which the most common one is the infection inside the ears. The infection could manifest itself in different ways and can affect specific parts of the ear. Ear infections are usually due to poor hygiene.

Wax build-up in the ears causes ear infection too. When those ear fluids come in contact with dirt, wax forms. If the ear is not cleaned regularly, wax can buildup to the extent it causes major problems.

Foreign objects in the ear canal can definitely pose some health risks. Anything, no matter how small, that finds its way inside the ear would pose to be a problem. It would also cause multiple ear infections when not attended immediately.

Tumors growing inside the ear would cause some hearing loss. Tumors are abnormal growths and tumors may either malignant or benign. Once you experience some abnormality in your hearing, consult your physician at once.

Injuries may cause ear problems as well. Physical injuries, even if not directed to the ears may cause some serious problems. If some parts of your head may be damaged, it may cause some hearing problems even if the damage is far away from your ear.

To take care of your ears and be free from tinnitus, do not expose yourself to too much noise. Loud music would gradually cause hearing problems and try not to use headphone much if possible. When the first signs of problems in the ears are observed, check with your doctor right away. <bio>Jason Rickard is the owner of Your Favourite Shop - http://www.yourfavouriteshop.com - Offering White Noise and Relaxation CDs - Visit Hapa Health - http://www.hapahapa.com for more articles. </bio>

I have to admit that I am a tinnitus sufferer. I didn't think there was any hope for me to ever feel any better. I hated the helpless feeling I had every time I realized that there was no way I could control the ringing and find relief. I felt I couldn't cope with my condition any longer, but I had no choice. It took two years of suffering with that terrible noisy ringing in my ears before I finally learned that tinnitus can be treated.

It was a fortunate day when I was reacquainted with one of my old college friends. The day I bumped into her is indelibly etched in my mind because I received very useful and important advice from her that day. I told her about the problems I was having with my tinnitus and received very good news in return.

I spoke with her for quite awhile about my difficulties. In the end, we discovered her spouse had exactly the same symptoms I was struggling with! She told us about the procedures her spouse underwent, and I learned that it was possible to survive with this disease. I had always considered it impossible to be "normal" with the constant ringing of the ears. I have been using some of the same techniques, and my life has improved considerably.

My diet was changed. I consumed less salt, caffeine and alcohol. I am slowly trying to reduce my cigarette smoking with the aim to stop it. At the moment I am using Homeopathic Tinnitus Remedies, and also tinnitus masking therapy for treating my tinnitus. I am experiencing some change now in the noises I hear.

Though the relief it provides is temporary, maskers are used by a most of those who have ringing in ears because there are certain times that they would just need immediate silence from the noise that they hear in order to concentrate on things that they need to do or just get some sleep.

Although these alterations to my daily routine seem minimal, I am thankful for the reduction in my symptoms. Once I was afraid that I would have to live with the trouble for the rest of my life. I am no longer petrified, and can now enjoy my life both at home and at work. My concentration is better, and I am more capable of keeping myself occupied.

I changed my eating habits to focus on consuming foods with a lot of Vitamins A, B (all of the B vitamins), C, D, and E. Getting enough of these essential vitamins keeps my immune system robust. They also reduce my stress level and I've found that too much stress makes the ringing in my ears much louder and obtrusive. The healthier I live, including a rich, well rounded diet and plenty of sleep, the better I feel.

Now knowing that tinnitus can be treated has greatly reduced my level of stress. With a reduced stress level, I am able to sleep well and not dwell as much on my tinnitus. With increased sleep and lowered stress, my ear ringing and buzzing seems to have decreased as well. <bio>If you need to discover more about a ringing ears cure and what your best treatment options are make sure download this 130pg self help guide at http://www.t-gone.com/tinnitusbook.htm - It is a great read... </bio>

If you often hear some buzzing sounds in your ears, it is something that should look into. Chances are you might be experiencing Tinnitus. Tinnitus is commonly referred to as 'ringing ears' or 'head noise'. To some people, it is known as 'the club disease' because some people experience a pulsing sound in their ears right after being exposed to loud sounds.

Emotional and physical stress can make tinnitus even worse. Loud noises can also infect the eardrums that may result to physical damage in the more sensitive areas of your inner ear. The nerves, cochlea and eardrums are parts of ear that should be taken care of and in worst cases, tinnitus can lead hearing loss.

The first thing you should do when you hear some whistling or hissing sounds in your ear is to consult your doctor. With proper medical attention, the root cause of tinnitus can be discovered. Tinnitus can be attributed to kidney malfunctions, high blood pressure and allergies. It can also be caused by emotional instability, drug intake and overexposure to loud noises.

There are a lot of things you can do to alleviate the ringing sounds in your ears. Proper diet can effectively lessen the risk of tinnitus. A doctor can give you professional advice on whether you should undergo medical or surgical treatment. In some unfortunate cases, the cause of tinnitus can never be pointed out. If this is the case then you can look for other alternatives to help you lessen the 'ringing' of your ears.

A lot of studies have been devoted on how to eliminate tinnitus. Hypnosis and relaxation therapy are some of the unconventional ways of treating this ailment. Drug and vitamin therapy can also be an option. More modern ways of treating tinnitus include biofeedback and electrical stimulation.

A tinnitus masker can be an effective tool in coping with tinnitus. Maskers are somewhat similar to hearing aides. They produce certain sounds that can disguise the annoying sounds of tinnitus. Most patients would rather hear something apart from what they hear inside their heads and maskers are giving off soothing sounds that can get your mind off the whistling sound of tinnitus.

To prevent tinnitus, try to stay away from loud noises as in concerts and clubs. Be extra careful on cleaning your ears as you may damage some sensitive parts of your inner ear. Life would never be as beautiful without good ears to hear. So at first sign of ringing in your ears, immediately head for your doctor for proper advice. <bio>Jason Rickard is the owner of http://www.yourfavouriteshop.com - Offering White Noise and Relaxation CDs - Visit http://www.hapahapa.com for more articles </bio>

Tinnitus is a symptom commonly found in elderly people but is not just restricted to the elderly. It can be found in any age group. It is believed that up to 10% of the population suffers from this condition to some degree or another.

Sufferers of Tinnitus complain that they can hear things that others can't. Tinnitus can be found in one or both of the ears and it is not uncommon for patients to comment that the noises seem to be coming from the middle of their heads.

It is believed there are two different types of Tinnitus. Otic Tinnitus, which is caused by disorders of the inside of the ear and Somati Tinnitus, which is caused by damage outside of the ear but in the region of the head and neck.

The sounds heard can vary among patients. Some of the common sounds are musical tones, hissing, whistling, roaring, buzzing or ringing. While most people consider Tinnitus to be more of an inconvenience than anything else, in severe cases, some patients may need treatment to relieve the symptoms.

Tinnitus is caused by damage to the nerves in the inside of the ear. These nerves transmit electrical impulses to the brain that are then interpreted into everyday sounds. When the nerves are damaged the noises become distorted, causing the strange sounds that are heard by Tinnitus sufferers.

Causes of this condition are varied. Some of the common causes are loud environments, age, anemia and excessive earwax.

Menieres disease, which affects a person's balance, can also include Tinnitus symptoms. For most patients suffering from Tinnitus there is no cure. However, there are treatments that can relieve the symptoms to make the condition easier to live with.

Tinnitus is often related to stress. In many cases, tranquilizers, sedatives or antidepressants can ease the symptoms. For some wanting to avoid strong prescription medicines, there are some drug-free, natural alternatives. These alternatives can include listening to soothing music before bedtime or using a white noise generator to mask the noises being heard inside the patient's head.

There are also preventative measures that can be taken to lessen the chances of getting Tinnitus. If ringing in the ears is ever heard after being in a loud environment that means that damage has being done. Loud noises such as these should be avoided as much as possible. If it is necessary to be in a loud environment, then preventative measures such as earplugs can be beneficial. Musicians and DJ's often use special earplugs that will lower the volume yet won't distort their music.

The best cure for Tinnitus is prevention. If care is taken to protect ears from damage, the chances of suffering from the condition later on is much less likely to occur. <bio>Copyright © 2006, Heather Colman.
Most people are not aware that the correct term for a ringing in the ears is tinnitus which can be pronounced either as tin-night-is or tin-nit-is. Tinnitus is also called andquot;ear ringing, andquot; others will describe it as soft buzzing sounds, humming bird noises, rushing noises like water, hissing, and or tapping like sounds. Not all people will describe their tinnitus noises equally - some hear screaming jet engines and others a gentle purr.

Tinnitus is a condition, not a disease. Tinnitus is a manifestation caused from medical conditions that can include (but is not limited to) such conditions as a build up of fuid, middle ear infection, a burst eardrum; or conditions and diseases like meniere's disease. Many over the counter drugs and medications can cause tinnitus.

Tinnitus can occur in any of the four sections of the ear: the outer ear, middle ear, inner ear, and the brain. In addition to the noises associated with tinnitus, people often have a feeling of fullness in the ears.

Experts agree that damage to the delicate microscopic inner ear nerve endings is responsible for the majority of all tinnitus cases. We have literally millions of these auditory nerve cells in the inner ear that are charged electrically. Minute hairs cover the surface of each auditory nerve cell. As sound waves reach these hairs they move much like a field of wheat moves in the wind. It is this movement that triggers elecrical impulses through the auditory nerve cells. The electrical discharge is then interpreted as sound by your brain.

When the cilia (those tiny hairs) become damaged or bent, they cannot operate properly and random movement occurs. Random electric impulses are sent off to the brain, which your brain figures out to be a sound.

While advanced age is a factor for a certain amount of hearing nerve impairment most people get tinnitus as a result of noise exposure. If you suffer from raised cholesterol levels or those of us who are consistently exposed to noisy surroundings are at greater risk for developing tinnitus.

Tinnitus sufferers report different sound types, a tonal and a pulsatile sound. Tonal tinnitus is the andquot;ringing in the earsandquot; type and produces a continuous sound, like a single note playing over and over. Pulsatile tinnitus is associated with high cholesterol and the head noises pulsate in time to the beating of the heart.

While tinnitus is typically not a serious condition, hearing loss is and is permanent. It is a little known fact that better than 90% of all people who have tinnitus also have hearing loss from cochlear damage. Therefore, hearing tests are essential before a proper diagnosis of tinnitus may be determined. People who have tinnitus are afraid that they will become deaf, but tinnitus does not cause people to become deaf. <bio>John and Ellen Currie have been advising tinnitus sufferers via their http://www.t-gone.com website since 1999. </bio>

There are many things in life to think about and even even more things to take care of as you get older. Adults have so many responsibilities that they must handle in life, it is hard for us to keep track of everything for ourselves let alone for our families. One of the most important things that each human is responsible for is their body and their health, and ears are one thing that is often overlooked.

When you think about taking care of your health, how many of us really take time to consider the importance of our ears or of taking care of our ears? Probably not too many. Why? Because I think that for the most part we take our ears, like so many other parts of our health, for granted. I think another reason why we are not careful about our ears is because it is rare to hear of someone having ear problems, so we figure we will not have any problems either.

I met someone with an unlikely story that changed my perspective of taking care of my ears. Like many other people I know, this person was careless when it came to ear health. She never cleaned out her ears or removed the wax that would constantly build up in her ear cannals, and she would never protect her ears when she spent a lot of time in the water.

To make a long story short, this woman ended up losing hearing in both of her ears simply because she didn't take care of them in everyday ways. Now, I know this story isn't typical, but it also isn't an isolated situation. I am writing simply to alert people to the importance of taking care of their ears on a regular basis.

Get in a for a physical and don't let your physician pass by your ears without giving them a full check. And take care of your ears. Get regular cleanings and wax removal, and be careful with your ears especially if you spend a lot of time in the water or around really loud music. You might be surprised how much loud noise affects hearing.

Your ears are one of your most important posessions, and hence, one of your most important responsibilities. So start today taking care of them with the attention that they deserve. It's for your good and so you'll still be able to hear well many years down the road. <bio>Belina Storrey is a nurse that loves to remind people of the importance of keeping track of their total health, even the health of their ears.
Tinnitus may affect more than half of the American population. A curable ailment within the inner ear canal, tinnitus is noticed by continual ringing, hissing and swishing noises in ears that will not subside. When you suffer from tinnitus, you will feel like you're insane and no one else can hear the noises.

But you don't have to suffer =96 tinnitis symptoms are curable. 5 Small Steps To Silence Tinnitus Symptoms:

Tinnitus symptoms may be common amongst more than twenty five percent of the American population. A curable ailment originating from problems in the inner ear canal, tinnitus is inherent with endless buzzing, ringing or swishing noises that never subside. When the levels of ear ringing are high, it can constitute feelings of insanity and leave you feeling all alone. But you don't have to feel isolated =96 noises in ears can be treated and homeopathic treatments have helped many sufferers ease the pain.

tinnitis symptoms can come in a single episode, temporarily for a few days or weeks, or for good. The noises in ears can interfere with an individual's ability to concentrate and may also cause sleep disturbance with the noises in ears.

General tinnitis symptoms and Causes

* Immense ear wax. When excess wax builds up in the ear canal, it can weaken the ability to hear outside noises and may worsen noises in ears.

* Otis media is the medical term for a middle ear infection or inflammation of the middle ear. If left undiagnosed or untreated, Otis media can lead to infection of the mastoid bone behind the ear, a ruptured ear drum, and hearing loss. Sometimes, tinnitus symptoms begin again following a middle ear infection.

* Brain or head injury. General symptoms of a brain or head injury include loss of consciousness, confusion, drowsiness, personality change, seizures, nausea, headache and vomiting. Roughly 25% of individuals who sustain a brain or head trauma, experience tinnitis symptoms following the injury.

* Meniere's disease is a disorder of the inner ear that affects balance and hearing. The tinnitus experienced by Meniere's patients is continual and does not subside with time, although its levels may vary.

* Otosclerosis is an abnormal bone growth in the middle ear that causes noises in ears. About 75% of people with otosclerosis also experience tinnitis symptoms.

* Weak Circulation may be an indication of a serious heart disorder. Common symptoms of poor circulation include cold hands and feet, white fingers, dizziness when standing quickly, numbness, varicose veins, migraine headaches, tinnitus and noises in ears.

* High Blood Cholesterol: High blood cholesterol clogs arteries that supply oxygen to the nerves of the inner ear. Lowering blood cholesterol levels may reduce tinnitis symptoms.

A helpful tinnitus fact:

Ginkgo biloba has been known to help symptoms of tinnitus as well as depression and your memory.

5 Steps To Silence - Ease Common Tinnitus Symptoms

* Avoid all loud sounds and noisy places. * Avoid total silence try and mask the tinnitus with white noise. * Avoid exorbitant use of alcohol, caffeine, or aspirin. * Wear ear protection when using chain saws, guns, lawn mowers, loud music or power tools. Exposure to loud noises can make tinnitus worse and can also cause additional hearing loss. * Control stress levels and learn how to relax in stressful situations.

Most people with tinnitus also suffer from anxiety and lack of sleep. At night when all is quiet, the ringing in your ears may sound louder, making it harder to sleep. The lack of sleep, in turn makes you more tired during the day which increases your anxiety and stress. Poor sleep induces depression, negative thoughts and a resultant higher level of anxiety and tinnitus symptoms. <bio>John Currie has helped thousands of sufferers completely eliminate their tinnitus symptoms since 1999.
What causes ringing or humming in the ear?

Ringing or humming in the ear is always coupled with symptoms that will lead to hearing loss. It is often called "tinnitus." Some of the common causes of ringing or humming in the ear are:

- Persistent exposure to loud noise in your surroundings

- Allergies and side-effects of medicines you take

- Level of your thyroid is lower than normal

- Tumor on ears or brain

- Stress

- Depression

- Old age

* Do we all inevitably suffer from hearing loss as we age?

Yes. Study shows that it is just a natural tendency that as people age, several changes occur in the body. This unavoidably leads to the declining of the immune system. Hearing loss is one of its manifestations. This usually occurs when the nerves in the ear of an aged person weaken.

* Can I have a hearing loss and not know it?

Yes, you can have a hearing loss without noticing it. Without the presence of some of the symptoms of hearing loss, you are not always aware that a number of nerves in your ears have been destroyed by noise.

* How can I tell if my baby's hearing is normal?

One of the best ways for you to determine if your baby's hearing is normal is if he learns to talk clearly and easily. Toddlers learn to speak through hearing the voices of other people. They listen and imitate them.

Second, notice whether your baby is attentive to basic verbal instructions that you give.

* What makes a good hearing aid?

In choosing a hearing aid, make sure that you find the best quality to guarantee treatment for your hearing loss. If you get confused with the various types of hearing aids, the best course is to go to a good hearing aid fitter.

A good hearing aid should have positive results in your life over time. At first there will naturally be adjustments to be made, but give it some time.

* How can I find a reputable audiologist?

For you to find a credible audiologist that will help you in solving your problems in hearing, look for someone that has a hearing specialist license.

The license shows that the audiologist has undergone a thorough study and training on his field. He can guarantee to offer you quality service.

* What are the different kinds of hearing aids?

If you have difficulty hearing, a hearing aid can help you increase your hearing level. With a hearing aid you will be ensured of a more or less normal way of life. Several kinds of hearing aids can be purchased:

- Behind the Ear or BTE hearing aid - This device is placed at the back of the ear and has a plastic ear mold that connects to the outer ear.

- In the Ear or ITE hearing aid- This device is used for treating mild to severe hearing loss. It fits inside the outer ear and needs to be properly fitted for best results.

- In the Canal or ITC hearing aid - This is patterned in the size and the shape of the ear canal, and also needs to be fitted by a professional.

- Completely in Canal or CIC hearing aid - This apparatus fits entirely inside the ear canal. <bio>Hanson Edgecomb is editor of http://www.hearinged.com, the online guide to Hearing.
Tinnitus or ringing of the ears can occur at any age. The ringing or buzzing noise which may be experienced in one or both ears can be continuous or it may perhaps come and go. The exact reason of how tinnitus occurs is still not completely understood by doctors. Around ten percent of people experience mild tinnitus and carry on with life as normal. However when some people first experience tinnitus it can be frightening and create stress and anxiety. Although it is not an illness you should see your doctor, who will clearly explain the condition to you. Just understanding more and realizing how common tinnitus is will probably put your mind at ease. Many people with tinnitus experience difficulty getting to sleep because when everything is quiet the ringing or noise in the ears seems louder and more intense which can be frustrating and cause irritability. Many find it helpful to play relaxation or meditation music quietly, to create a soothing background noise. Water features and nature sounds are also helpful. Some doctors suggest alternative and complementary treatments, also known as holistic. Holistic therapy treats the whole body and instead of alleviating the symptom it gets rid of the cause of the problem. A number of people have been fortunate enough to discover Contact Reflex Analysis and are now cured of tinnitus.

Contact Reflex Analysis is an uncomplicated, safe and natural technique of analyzing the body's structural, physical and nutritional needs. A deficiency in any of these areas could cause or help to create an assortment of acute or chronic health problems. Contact Reflex Analysis or CRA is a means by which a health expert uses the body's reflexes to precisely establish the source of a health problem and provides the health expert with the solution to correct it. I found a brilliant qualified CRA practitioner about eight years ago. When I met her I had been taking 300mg axid or zantac per day for seventeen years for the treatment of a duodenal ulcer and a hiatal hernia. I had been diagnosed with these conditions seventeen years previously as a result of having barium meals and camera tests in the hospital. When she tested me with CRA neither of the electrical reflexes for duodenal ulcer or hiatal hernia tripped out for me (which meant I didn't have them) anyway to cut a long story short, I haven't taken any medication for eight years now and I have never felt better.

I do not suffer from tinnitus but I do have to manage my frustration when I see people suffering unnecessarily because they cannot be open-minded enough to at least look into alternative choices. My sister was rushed into hospital diagnosed as having an acute gall bladder and was a week away from surgery to remove it. After much coaxing (and frustration management) I managed to have her tested with my CRA practitioner and fortunately she decided to postpone her operation for a few weeks and try the natural path with CRA. That was almost twelve months ago. My sister took some nutritional supplements and within twelve weeks she was feeling on top of the world. The doctors and nurses at the hospital were baffled when the second x-ray revealed there was no longer a problem and they now want to investigate her liver. Had they removed her gall bladder they wouldn't have dealt with the underlying cause but CRA did.

You really do not have to suffer with tinnitus any longer, simply find a CRA qualified practitioner. <bio>Marilyn Ann Barker-Smith is the co-founder of http://www.project-meditation.org Project Meditation. http://www.project-meditation.org/a_ms4/yoga_and_meditation_music.html Meditation music is just one of many topics covered on our site that offers a free meditation course. </bio>

Be familiar with his ears; know the typical smell, as that may be the first sign of something wrong. If there is an infection or ear mites, the smell may change, a foul odor is very typical of mites or infection. And if you see a dark, waxy type discharge, then this is another symptom of mites or infection. Either way, your dog needs to be checked and treated.

Even if you suspect, it may be something as simple as allergies, it would be better to be safe than sorry and let your loving dog suffer. They depend on you for their care and they have total trust in you. So when you think of it that way, you want to do everything in your power to make sure they stay healthy and happy.

The breeds with the longer floppy ears are going to be more prone to ear infections to those that have the upright ears. I have a black lab and a Chihuahua, ears of each kind. And I always watch for their behavior when it comes to their ears. When they are healthy, they leave them alone, but if there is pain, or discharge, they will paw at them or try to scratch. Dogs will also shake their head back and forth as if trying to shake something out of their ears.

How can you prevent ear infections?

Between normal checkups check your dogs ears on a regular basis. When you are playing with him or her, just casually look in the ears; it doesn't need to be a form of trauma for them. Another good time is when you are bathing your dog. Never, ever stick anything in your dog's ear. It is always a better idea to see your vet when it comes to anything to do with this very fragile part of your pet's body. Their ears are not like ours, they are very sensitive and have parts that can easily be touched and damaged.

There is one method that a vet will recommend for the owner to do. If you sense a foul smell, or something has changed, you may want to flush your dog's ear with warm water. There are ear washes for dogs that contain Tea Tree Oil; this is very gentle and very effective in cleaning the ears. It is a natural antiseptic, antibacterial and fungicidal, which will help to keep your dog's ears clear and infection free.

Make your dogs ears a part of your routine, whether bathing or when sitting quietly with him. Give your dog the care that he or she needs and can't do for him or herself. They can't tell when something is wrong; it is our job to make sure they are well and carefree.

Just as a dogs life should be! <bio>Joann Henry operates "Doggie Health Care" http://www.DoggieHealthCare.com, a blog all about our pooches health.
Customizing your mobile phone is one of the things we enjoy doing. Not only that we are giving our phones that good look, we are also making it as if it is our counterpart. From the hard covers and the backlights up to the different mobile applications installed in our phone, we make it as personal as possible in order to fit it in our standard way of living.

And luckily for us, different wireless specialist especially in wireless mobile application are trying to give different promotions like free downloads of ringing tones in order to lure their potential customers to purchase different mobile phone products and avail of a mobile phone service provider.

Well, let us discuss how we can avail of such freebie for our mobile phones.

Before downloading ringing tones, take into consideration two important factors:

1. Capability of your phone - Although having the same functions of sending SMS (short massaging service) or MMS (multimedia messaging service) and making and receiving voice calls, mobile phones still differs on its capabilities especially in software application.

Mobile designers continue to develop and enhance further certain functions of phones, especially when it comes to mobile photography and video messaging, and ringing tones. In order to find the right ringing tone for your phone, read its instruction manual and know its specification--whether it has melody composer, and other applications needed to avail of free downloads.

2. Format of ringing tones - Ringing tones comes in different formats, depending on the nature of its sound reproduction. Advanced mobile phone models are now configured to receive polyphonic and MP3 tones, which requires high storage of memory. Once you have known your cell phone specification, be aware also of what ringing tone format to install.

Now that you are aware of the factors aforementioned, let us now proceed on how to download free ringing tones. First step is to browse which website offers free downloads of ringing tones.

Once you have found which websites are offering such freebie, determine which is the best downloading procedure is fitted on your phone depending on its capability. There are two downloading procedure available: the key press format and the WAP downloading format:

1. The key press format is the most basic, eventually every mobile phone equipped with melody composer do support this kind of downloading format. The website will posts all the ringing tones in key press format, where you will see notes and the key it corresponds on the keypad of your phone. This will produce a monotone, and it is absolutely free. Just follow the instructions on the homepage and you are in the process of having your free ringing tone played in your phone.

2. The WAP downloading format can be used as a conduit in downloading free ringing tones especially if your phone supports wireless application protocol (WAP). WAP is also called the "wireless web". Service providers include in their wide array of services this kind of function to facilitate actual download of the tones without actually composing it. If your phone supports this application, it is recommended that you use it for downloading contents.

Once you gained access of your WAP browser, just type the address of the site where you want to download your free ringing tone. From there you follow the instructions in the page, and wait for your tone to be delivered to you through WAP.

However, downloading using this format is not very free of charge-- your mobile phone service provider is imposing additional charges if you avail your WAP service. What make it advantageous is that it is relatively cheaper if you will actually download ringing tone directly from your service provider.

It is now up to you if you want to avail of such free download. After all, the directions are just there, waiting for you. About The Author: Tony Brings is the webmaster of Cheap Electronic Center.
Hyperacusis is a condition where one develops an abnormal sensitivity to everyday sounds and noises. They may also be sensitivity to high pitched sounds. It is a chronic condition which is associated with tinnitus or ringing sounds in the ear. Young and old, who have both normal hearing and a hearing loss may suffer from hyperacusis.

It is a condition that develops in one slowly, maybe due to head injuries. Some research has also proven that some brain chemistry dysfunction resulting from poor intake of some chemicals leads to hyperacusis. Sometimes job related noise exposure, drugs or surgeries of the brain, ear and any other related surgery may lead to hyperacusis.

A person suffering from hyperacusis usually experiences inner ear pain or a feeling of fullness, like pressure, in the ears. This is the reason such people have a low threshold to sound, and find it difficult to take part in much social activities. They may in fact, consider themselves socially unfit, by not being able to withstand the sounds that are associated with social activities.

Hyperacusis sufferers usually end up with tinnitus (ringing sounds in the ears). Sometimes they may also find it difficult to sleep because of the stress level they suffer from. Another cause of hyperacusis is Phonophobia. Phonophobia is a condition where the person develops a fear of being exposed to some sounds, thinking that the sounds will damage their ear.

The best way of diagnosing hyperacusis is through hearing tests that detect sound sensitivity. Otolaryngologists, who are ear, nose and throat physicians, are also well versed in making a medical evaluation of hyperacusis.

The best treatment is through in-depth discussion of the tests performed to diagnose hyperacusis, explanation of the anatomy and physiology of hearing mechanism and how it is associated with hyperacusis helps control hyperacusis. This therapy focuses in educating the patient on hyperacusis, and to relieve their fears and concerns about it. Some patients may be advised Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT), which is a habituation-oriented therapy.

With TRT, the patient's reactions to hyperacusis are reduced by using sound therapy. With the help of sound therapy, the patient's sensitivity to sounds is decreased, to help them view sound more positively. TRT is usually a combination of counseling and sound therapy where the patient is exposed to low-level sound for a few hours everyday.

Then there are alternative treatments where people are advised to take minerals like magnesium, zinc or herbal preparations like Ginkgo biloba, B vitamins or homeopathic remedies to help cure hyperacusis. Treatment varies with the patient, and the physician. <bio>Jason Rickard is the owner of http://www.yourfavouriteshop.com - Offering White Noise and Relaxation CDs - Visit http://www.hapahapa.com for more articles </bio>

Hyperacusis is a medical condition wherein the person's tolerance for normal sound in his environment is lowered. This lowered tolerance is manifested by the person's sensitivity to otherwise normal sounds in his surroundings. As a result, he feels as if the whole world is screaming at him. The dripping of water in the faucet, a child crooning to himself, a radio playing from a distance, car horns from the road outside -- all these sounds are perceived by the person with hyperacusis as loud and blaring.

The bad thing about having hyperacusis is that the person has no way of "turning the sounds off." Hyperacusis is a chronic disorder and tends to come and go. People who suffer from hyperacusis may also tend to suffer from tinnitus. Tinnitus is the ringing that you hear in your ears. However, hyperacusis may occur in people who have no other hearing problems.

So what can you do to if you have hyperacusis? Sad to say, but the progression of this disease is quite unpredictable. As of now, the only sure thing that researchers know is that exposure to loud noises contributes to the progression of the disease.

Pink noise and white noise are commonly used to treat patients. They are quite similar to each other although for pink noise, the sounds with lower frequencies are louder than those with higher frequencies. On the other hand white noise has the same amplitude for all frequencies. The importance of these two types of noise is that they increase the tolerance for the normal range of noise that we hear everyday.

There are some therapy regimens that patients with hyperacusis can go through. One such therapy is the use of special hearing aids for several hours a day. These special gadgets work by desensitizing the ears to sound. This treatment is called Tinnitus (Hyperacusis)Retraining Therapy or TRT. Another way to treat hyperacusis is to listen to a pink noise CD. This also serves to desensitize the ears to sound.

Though these procedures have proven to be successful in helping many people suffering from hyperacusis, they are not considered as cures. The best course to take when you suddenly find yourself suffering from "loud" noises is to visit your healthcare professional as they can better determine your specific needs. <bio>Jason Rickard is the owner of Your Favourite Shop - http://www.yourfavouriteshop.com - Offering White Noise and Relaxation CDs - Visit Hapa Health - http://www.hapahapa.com for more articles. </bio>

Did you hear that? It was your ears asking you to take care of them! Our hearing is so basic to us that we often take it for granted, and forget that our ears might need a little tender loving care every once in a while. And for the most part, its true ears are extremely low-maintenance for what complicated mechanisms they are. You ears only want a little bit of attention to be as healthy as possible. So why not hear them out?

Just taking a show is a part of personal hygiene but it doesn't do much to clean out your ears. Keeping in mid the fact that the insides of your ears are very sensitive. So sensitive than even a drop of water can disrupt the function of your ear as well as causing you some pain. So be careful when you are about to clean out your ears. Take all the necessary precautions and be aware if you are have any problems, like an infections etc. Be sure to consult your doctor should you run into any problems.

Put down the cotton swab! Your ears may need a little cleaning every once in a while, but never, ever with a cotton swab. The tissue inside of your ear is extremely delicate, and cleaning your ears with anything smaller than a finger can put you at risk of damaging it. Furthermore, you mostly shouldn't have to clean wax out of your ear at all, since it is normally removed slowly by the body's natural processes. You can clean your outer ear with a mild soap and washcloth, but, for the most part, you should leave the rest of your ear alone. Occasionally, though, a clump of old wax can build up in your ears. In the rare occurrence that you experience a buildup of wax that irritates you or muffles your hearing, still don't use small object to try to move it around. ItŐs dangerous, and probably won't have the desired affect. Instead, use a dropper to deposit a few drops of mineral oil or baby oil into your ear, to soften the blockage and allow it to flow out of the ear on its own. If you try this without success, it's probably best to seek the attention of a doctor.

Cleaning the outsides you're your ears are as important as cleaning the exterior of you ear. Some soap and warm water would suffice however be sure that no water enters the ear.

Lastly, always protect your ears against infection and damage. Wear earplugs while swimming, to avoid ear infections such as swimmer's ear. If you think you have an ear infection, seek medical help immediately, as ear infections can grow dangerous to your hearing and health if let go for too long. Always wearing ear protection when using loud tools, like chainsaws, lawn mowers, and even some big machinery, like tractors.
