I bet you can think of someone who you sometimes wonder if they have conquered relaxation meditation techniques. They seem so calm under pressure, so able to control their moods and they have such great coping skills. These are the byproducts of an effective and working relaxation meditation technique.

"Relax". That is some word isn't it? Have you had times when you "just needed to relax", but you could not? It's pretty common. But some people know that there are ways to use relaxation meditation techniques to help them put their minds, bodies and spirits at rest and to reach that state of relaxation where they can sleep, be who they really are with friends and family or get back to work in a relaxed and settled way. So it will pay us big time if we can get a head start on learning how to put relaxation meditation techniques to work so we have control over this important area of life as well.

Press Your Own Buttons

We all have things that relax us and things that don't. That is why meditation "gurus" work with you to select just the right focus points for you so you have objects to meditate upon that already have that power to relax you. If anything, the daily or routine exercise of your relaxation meditation technique is a training ground for you to test out different focus points to see what brings about relaxation and what does not.

Any time you settle down for a time in meditation, you set out some goals for what you want to achieve. Part of the change of approach of designing a relaxation meditation technique is to make moving toward a higher level of relaxation a goal of the exercise. By learning to "push your own buttons" so you know precisely not only the focus points that move you most quickly toward relaxation but how to use them, you are developing your skills in relaxation meditation technique to use at other times.

Perfect Your Relaxation Meditation Technique

There is more to being able to executive a well trained relaxation meditation technique than just using it during those times of isolation when things are calm and your environment is perfectly tuned to what you are doing. After all, the fine tuned ability to introduce relaxation to your mind on command is a powerful weapon in everyday life. So one of the goals of exercising and perfecting your relaxation meditation technique is to learn the key points of relaxation and how to trigger them so they become virtually "second nature" to you.

This will take time but its time worth investing in your relaxation meditation technique. As you develop your program, you will be able to reach a state of calm and relaxation more quickly which will tell you that you are becoming an expert at your relaxation meditation technique. That expertise will serve you well when you take what you have learned and apply it in the world outside of your meditation retreat.

Take it Into Battle

Now you are ready to become like those people we talked about earlier. Except you may not be someone who was just born "cool under pressure." What you have done is you have used your relaxation meditation techniques to train your mind in how to go to that relaxed place even when things around you are not calm and quiet and serene.

You may find yourself applying your relaxation meditation techniques at first in calm situations where small things go wrong. A plate breaks or you get hassled in traffic. Instead of tensing up, getting angry or loosing it, your relaxation meditation technique begins to take over. Soon you are going down those well traveled roads in your mind that you learned so well when practicing your meditative methods but you are getting the results of increased relaxation but in a real world situation.

You are getting the benefits that athletes sometimes enjoy. The benefits of your discipline are paying off in every day life. Then as you sense your relaxation meditation techniques finding ways to keep you relaxed under mild pressure, you can learn how to trigger those reactions when greater and greater stress comes upon you. To the world, you are a whole new person.

But you know that you are the same person but one who has learned the disciplines to stay relaxed, even, as they say, when everybody else around you are going crazy. Then people will look at you and say, "He seems so calm under pressure. She is so able to control her moods. They have such great coping skills." And at that moment, your relaxation meditation techniques have paid off to the ultimate and all your hard work will have been worth all the time you invested. <bio>Want to calm your mind and super-charge your energy level?
Apart from the various ways to reduce stress in one's life, you can also resort to therapy. Some of the numerous forms of therapy is the bio-feedback and massage which can help you relax and do away with stress.

Bio-feedback mechanism is normally fixed on the head of stress patient with electric leads. The patient is then coaxed into relaxing using various forms of relaxation methods like deep breathing and transcendental meditation. This type of treatment is rather administered by a specialist. The process to follow the moment relaxation is attained in biofeedback is to examine or measure the waves of the brain and listen for a sound signal after the detection of alpha waves. Then the sound frequency will be paired with the level of deep relaxation. The repetition of this technique will enable the patient to attain complete relaxation all alone.

Another form of stress reduction technique is massage. With the help of a masseur, you can ease stress and have you relax and make you mentally alert. You can get the services of specialized masseur by visiting their offices or going to spas. You can avail yourself with the Swedish massage which is the most common type of massage therapy that can easily be found. There is also the Shiatsu form of massage. Though it may be a painful process due to the heavy pressure exerted on the process of massage, but the end result is a complete and perfect relaxation of the entire body.

You can also avail yourself with acupuncture to achieve relaxation of the muscles. In acupuncture, all the parts of the body may not necessarily be massaged. And massage is less intense. Acupuncture massage just points out peculiar areas and carry out the exercise.

So, any stress reduction technique you decided to choose to enable you relax, make sure you use it on a regular basis. You need relaxation on a constant basis to actually live a healthy and happier life. Ensure you get the service of a trained masseur so you could get the right treatment. Massage must be rightly done, or the goal of achieving relaxation may be defeated, because massage, if wrongly administered could end up hurting you instead of relieving you of stress and helping you relax. <bio>The Author, Salihu Ibrahim, likes writing on health issues.
Relaxation Techniques. 7 ways of reducing stress and improving health and well being. Part 1 of 2

Why do we need relaxation techniques? Stress is the bane of modern living and we all suffer from it in one way or another. Stress is a normal part of everyday life but from time to time it can become debilitating. When it does it takes a heavy toll on our bodies, emotions, minds and quite possibly those around us especially our love ones. Many experts have determined that heart disease is linked to anger and irritability brought on by mental stress. Too much stress brings about chemical imbalance that can lead to or cause a heart attack. Managing your anger and attitude is significant to the health of your heart and general well being and relaxing effectively can help you manage that debilitating stress.

Practical relaxation techniques. Learning to apply a relaxation technique that works for you is important. If you are feeling stressed out, worn-out by fatigue or just simply having a real bad day, the best thing to do is relax before that harmful stress gets the better of you. There are many relaxation techniques available and the following are what I think are the most practical ones to use. I have used them myself and the relaxation technique I use the most is exercise. Try the following relaxation tips and see which works for you.

Relaxation Tip 1 Transcendental Meditation. One ancient and well-known relaxation technique is Transcendental Meditation, which appears to reduce artery blockage, which is a major cause for heart attack and stroke. Practitioners of Transcendental Meditation repeat soothing sounds while meditating, this helps to achieve a state of deep relaxation. Research has found that in practitioners of transcendental meditation a significantly reduced the thickness of their arterial walls compared with those who didn't practice Transcendental Meditation. It appears that relaxation techniques applied correctly over a length of time can bring about actual physical changes in the body to help us cope with stress.

Relaxation Tip 2 Acupuncture. Again another ancient and well-known relaxation technique is Acupuncture. This seems to reduce high blood pressure by stimulating the brain to release chemical compounds known as endorphins. Endorphins help to relax muscles, ease panic, lessen pain, and reduce anxiousness.

Relaxation Tip 3 Yoga. Yoga is also another relaxation technique that has similar effects to Acupuncture and it utilises controlled deep breathing. During studies of the effect of Yoga, test subjects where exposed to stressful situations and they applied their own relaxation techniques while listening to nature sounds or classical music. Those who did Yoga as well showed a significantly reduced time for their blood pressure to return to normal.

Relaxation Tip 4 Deep Breathing. Controlled deep breathing is one of the easiest methods to relax. Breathing influences our mind, our moods and our body. Simply focus on your breathing and you can feel its effects right away. Taking about ten controlled deep breaths reduces the heart rate and after a few minutes you can really feel yourself calming down. The benefits of controlled deep breathing are you can do it quickly, do it anywhere and you do not need any special equipment. Be a bit cautious with deep breathing it can make you feel light headed if you do it too fast of for too long.

In part 2 to you will find even more useful relaxation techniques that will help improve your health and well being promoting a long and happy life. <bio>You are free to reproduce this article.
Relaxation training is a therapeutic method that can be delivered to a group of people or on a one to one basis. Relaxation is thought to benefit conditions such as anxiety, panic, hyperventilation, insomnia, depression, and stress-related physical problems such as tense sore muscles and migraines. I am an occupational therapist and teach relaxation techniques during CBT Edinburgh.

Relaxation techniques tend to fall into two main categories: physical and psychological. Physical relaxation techniques include developing body awareness of tension in your muscles, body awareness of looseness in your joints, focusing the mind on allowing muscles to relax and biofeedback. There are several approaches within these and include Tense and Release, The Mitchell Method, Differential Relaxation, Passive Relaxation and Progressive Muscular Relaxation. Psychological approaches to relaxation include self-awareness, imagery and directed visualisation, self-hypnosis and autogenic techniques.

Relaxed breathing is a crucial part of all relaxation training and is usually used in conjunction with physical and psychological relaxation methods. It is taught at CBT Edinburgh. Breathing enables oxygen to be carried around the body and also removes toxins from the body when we exhale. Most people know this, yet we give little time to consider how well we are breathing. The chronic effects of not breathing effectively include poor concentration, fatigue, irritability, and physical problems that may affect the skin, hair and bones.

Tension and stress often leads to disturbances in the way that we breathe. In a person who is stressed or tense, breathing disturbances may include shallow breathing, panting, raising the shoulders and uneven breathing, forgetting to breathe and hyperventilation. These types of breathing styles are often present during the experience of a panic attack. The switching on of the "flight or fight" stress response disturbs the respiratory system causing breathing to become rapid and shallow. This is because the body is trying to take in more oxygen conversely, the opposite happens and less oxygen is absorbed. However, it is possible to turn off the stress response by using relaxed breathing. Relaxed breathing is slow and even and deep. It is done through the nose. Relaxed breathing promotes effective circulation of air around your body.

During relaxation the nervous system slows down and there can be a reduction in excitatory hormones, breathing rate, blood pressure, muscle action and heart rate. If you have a stressful and hectic lifestyle your nervous system (sympathetic nervous system) may be in a constant state of arousal, leaving you constantly tense. In this state your body is likely to react to small stresses and strains in the same way as it is programmed to react to real crises. Repeated episodes of flight or fight responses use up your energy stores. Learning relaxation skills is a way to break the depletion of your energy.

Relaxation is a skill and it doesn't always come easily. It is worth learning to relieve stress, combat strain and tiredness and to promote your well-being. It can also lead to you feeling much more in control of your body and the peacefulness of your mind.<bio>Karen is a mental-health occupational therapist.
Prenatal yoga is an exercise that is designed to promote breathing exercises, posture and emotional relaxation. This approach is often sought by pregnant women who are preparing for a natural childbirth or who wish to stay physically and emotionally healthy during their pregnancy. One of the many benefits of prenatal yoga is the lack of physical exertion that is required, which makes it a safe practice for many moms-to-be.

During the pain that is associated with a natural childbirth, prenatal yoga will attempt to promote proper breathing that will help to make the process an easier one. In addition, relaxation is essential during the childbirth process and although it can be difficult, prenatal yoga can help to teach women how to relax themselves as much as possible.

For some, prenatal yoga may be sought as part of a spiritual process that helps them to connect with their unborn child and/or prepare for the new arrival. In some cases, prenatal yoga may even be beneficial after the birth as it instills techniques that are associated with relaxation. As every new mom knows, there is a definite need for relaxation after having a child.

For some, prenatal yoga may help women to return to their pre-pregnancy weight more quickly than others. For most, this is a struggle that takes a lot of patience and determination. In general, yoga is an exercise that promotes physical fitness, relaxation, breathing, spiritual and emotional connections, etc.

If you are searching for a prenatal yoga class or instructor, the best place to start is through your physician. During your next visit, ask the doctor if prenatal yoga would be safe for you and, if so, who you could contact for instruction. Most physicians are aware of any local classes or instruction being given and will often be able to refer patients to a class that is most convenient for them. Most women prefer that the father of their child or a friend or family member attend prenatal yoga classes for support and guidance. Having someone familiar will also make the classes more enjoyable and relaxing for the mom-to-be. Before enrolling in prenatal yoga, it's best to make sure that the instructor is licensed, certified or highly trained and experienced in teaching this type of relaxation method.

The information in this article is to be used for informational purposes only. It should not be used in place of, or in conjunction with, professional medical advice.
The power of art induces a calm state of mind, this is a well-known fact. It is no use mentioning that the capacities of any beautiful object, be it a flower, a painting, a piece of music, a movie or a well-written book, help us let go all the negative thoughts and the daily preoccupations. Music and art have the strongest capacity to lead us to a meditating path, to produce that state in which we forget about all of our anxieties, worries, problems at work, with the kinds, with the mother-in-law.

Music =96 The Guiding Sound

Imagine a scented room, in which blends combine only to make even more perceptible to the senses the barely audible music that seems to come from the otherworld. Imagine that this music is the one sang by the angels, imagine the notes, the passion that was put while being created. Music is indeed the art that can best describe the most valuable relaxation technique meditation because it offers you the calm and the peace after a hard, demanding day, after all the negative feelings that you have gathered during the day. Music helps you let go all that torments you, all that makes you not feel at your ease.

There is no meditation without the help of the music. Choose Enya or another chill-out music album and I guarantee you that relaxation and good-mood will soon be installed into your mind and into your body. This kind of music is the one that is recommended by the yoga instructors or by masseurs in order to induce to the attendants the necessary state for meditation. They all recognize music as an important and relevant part of the relaxation technique meditation.

How Can the Forms of Art Help You Forget Your Worries?

Can painting or architecture be a way of reaching to relaxation and good feeling about you? My answer is definite: of course. Only think about the emotion that an exquisitely made building makes you feel? Don't you feel shivers? I'm sure that when you think of a beautiful painting or to a touching book you feel the same things. What better feelings can lead you to relaxation and meditation? You cannot deny the power of art to calm you down, to make you let go of your anxieties, fears, torments, problems.

Without a doubt, art is an important part of the relaxation technique meditation. What would happen if music were not present in the yoga meetings, only to provide one single example? What would be the fun if nothing would be heard on the background, if we could hear each others noises? The fun would be spoiled and we would probably lose the point of focus that is so important for meditation.

Is Art Vital in Order for Meditation to Take Place?

The answer to this question has been pointed out before, but I wish to stress out more the role of art for the relaxation technique meditation. Art in general, and music in particular, are all branches of culture that have the capacity to create another world, an imaginary world that is definitely better than the sometimes problematic present world we live in.

This imaginary world not only stimulates our creativity and senses, but it gives us the change to let our mind travel and rest. Art is, as far as I'm concerned, what everybody needs in order to arrive at the supreme state of relaxation and meditation. Meditating can't be dome without art, without music, without beauty. <bio>Want to calm your mind and super-charge your energy level?
One of the biggest problems fibromyalgia sufferers face is the escalation of their fatigue and painful symptoms, which is caused by the emotional and physical stress of their condition. Thus, since stress can worsen symptoms, to help control the way you feel, try engaging in relaxation therapy techniques.

Relaxation therapy helps a person achieve emotional, spiritual and physical relaxation. Most of the techniques for this therapy involve the simultaneous use of the mind and body. The goal is to attain deep relaxation by combining concentration with breathing exercises or specific body movements.

Relaxation helps reduce the affects of stress which can cause a rise in blood pressure and heart rate. Relaxation also helps encourage oxygen flow through the entire body, which heals damaged muscles.

Relaxation therapy can be extremely effective when it comes to reducing fibromyalgia symptoms. In fact, it has been proven that relaxation can reduce depression and anxiety, as well as the duration and intensity of migraines. The following are 5 relaxation techniques you can try to help alleviate the symptoms of fibromyalgia:

1.Deep Breathing -- This is an exercise that helps eliminate stress by providing your body with more oxygen. Without sufficient oxygen, your body cannot function with efficiency and will increase pain. Deep breathing relaxation techniques are about focusing on inhaling and exhaling.

You can do these exercises on your own either sitting or standing. Begin by slowly inhaling through your nose and continue until your stomach expands. Hold your breath for 3 seconds and then slowly exhale through your mouth. It's best to repeat this exercise three times per day for ten minute sessions.

2.Meditation -- Meditation allows the body and mind to achieve relaxation simultaneously. There are different types of meditation, but one of the more popular types is focused concentration. This meditation involves the repetition of a sound or word, or focusing on breathing to clear the mind.

To begin, sit on the floor or chair and close your eyes. Focus on repeating a positive word you like, or breathing (inhaling/exhaling). Do your best to remain as still as possible as you concentrate, and remain in the meditative state for 20 minutes.

3.Progressive Muscle Relaxation -- Progressive muscle relaxation is an easy technique that works on every major muscle group in the body. It aids in decreasing tension in your muscles while it strengthens them. It can be done while sitting down or lying in bed.

Begin by tensing the muscles in your feet and hold it for a count of 8. Release the contraction and relax your muscles. Continue this same contraction method for all your major muscle groups in your body all the way to your head. When you have finished, your entire body with be totally relaxed.

4.Yoga -- Yoga is a popular exercise that involves a combination of physical and mental practices to help attain total relaxation. Yoga teaches you to control your breathing while you focus on stretching and relaxing your body's major muscle groups.

As far as fibromyalgia is concerned, the best form of Yoga is Hatha yoga. This is a form of Yoga that concentrates on particular movements and poses to center the body and mind. You can choose to do Yoga on your own with the aid of video or books, or you can attend a local class.

5.Personal Sanctuary -- Escaping to a positive stress-free environment when you are tense is a great way to induce relaxation. You can create your own "personal sanctuary" in your home. This may mean going to your garden, or creating a special corner in your bedroom that is filled with all of the colors and happy items you like and enjoy.

By simply spending a few moments in your special space, you'll be amazed at how rejuvenated you will feel. <bio>If you are looking for more ways to experience http://eliminatefibromyalgia.com/blog please go to http://eliminatefibromyalgia.com where you can sign up for a free newsletter. </bio>

One of the increasing risks of illness and negative effects on health has been the growing levels of stress in daily life. The ever increasing pace of life is certainly having an effect on sleep, concentration, moods and, of course, relationships. However, stress is something that can be combated very easily. There are proven methods of relaxation that will not only help you beat stress, but improve your health and general well being as well.

Presented below are 3 easy relaxation methods which produce results quickly and are very easy to learn.

1. Learning Abdominal Breathing

Have you ever wondered why it is suggested you take a deep breath whenever you are hassled or irritated or tensed or anxious? The fact is that taking a deep breath during times of stress cannot produce results. In fact, it actually increases your stress and makes relaxation more difficult. The best time to learn abdominal breathing is when you are calm. This is one of the most effective relaxation methods around. The point to be remembered is that do not learn it when you are upset or stressed .

Here is the primer on how to do abdominal breathing. Place one hand on your lower abdomen and the other on your chest. Take a deep breath and concentrate on slow breathing. The key is to ensure that the abdomen goes out with each inhalation with the chest remaining still. The suggested number of times that this exercise be done is twice a day. It will be better if the exercise is performed before a mirror. Keep the number of breaths to a minimum so that you don't get dizzy. And yes, the next time you are stressed, start abdominal breathing to calm your mind and body.

2. Use Stretching Techniques

One of the symptoms of stress is that your shoulders or head may begin to ache or your jaw clenches . In fact the severity increases as the stress level increases (so do the symptoms). This happens because, when you're tense, your body reacts by sending extra blood to your muscles, which makes them tight and tense; so much so, that muscles in the chest when tensed can restrict your breathing to a good extent.

One of the easiest ways is to mobilize your body and start stretching. The effect is that the muscles will get relaxed and also allow you to breathe deeply. Stretching doesn't take much time and can practically be done during any part of the day. A regular stretching regime will reduce stress to a great extent. The best relaxation techniques are found in Yoga exercises.

3. Use Relaxation Audios

It takes some time before you can master relaxation techniques. For some, the results have to be instantaneous. One way to relax for these kind of people is to use relaxation audios. The relaxation audios work by making you concentrate on the sensations of relaxing your mind and slowing your ever busy mind.

One of the fastest ways for learning relaxation skills and for reducing stress as such has been the use of subliminal relaxation self-help audios. They are very effective as they work at the pre-conscious level . However, for this to work effectively, you would have to set aside half an hour. Lie comfortably, preferably on a bed or a chair and let no one disturb you for half an hour. Though initial results may seem poor, a continued use over 2-3 weeks can get very good results for most people.

Many of today's relationship and health problems are because of stress. It is in good order that you learn effective relaxation methods to maintain a good health and keep in check stress levels.<bio>Get a free Stress Management 7-Part E-Course and receive a free mp3 download of an interview with a clinical social worker ('Coping With Stress') with your first issue.
Trance is the state of mind in which you are away from the external world and trying to see deep into your inner mind. Trance techniques are used by hypnotherapists to hypnotize the client. Basic techniques of trance are Relaxation, Confusion method and Eye fatigue.

Relaxation Method

If you want to go into trance yourself; you can use technique of relaxation, meditation, simple breathing. Relaxation is simple and can be achieved by simple instructions of physical relaxation. With that brain should be diverted to concentrate on breathing so mental relaxation is also possible. You have to center yourself and slip away your worries and sense of peace will enter your body.

Confusion Method

A well known trance technique is the confusion method. This is done with the highly analytical client who is not relaxed enough for the Relaxation Method. An attempt to confuse the conscious mind is done. The hypnotherapist will use some puzzling words by which the client is led on a mind blowing riddle. In between, relaxing words are repeated by the hypnotherapist. As the client is confused with his speech, he is at the same time being forced to relax through the use of relaxing suggestions.

Eye Fatigue Method

An alternative to the relaxation and confusion methods is the eye fatigue method. The client is asked to perform any number of tiring exercises such as "Look up at a point just above your head. Count backwards from 50 to one and you have to open eyes on the even numbers and close on odd numbers." By the time he counts to one, the client is tired.

Simply Breathing Helps

A popular simple breathing technique is very simple and everybody can practice this himself. You have to close your eyes. Then concentrate on the sound of your breathing. Breathe slowly. Feel peace that enters your body with each breath. Continue and you will feel your muscles of feet are relaxed. Similarly the tension of legs and thighs will go. Feel your abdominal muscles are relaxed. Your shoulders, hand and arm are limp and peaceful.

Now your neck and finally your head are also relaxed. Now there is only empty darkness and your all concerns are gone. You will feel empty and peaceful. To return back to normal state again, concentrate on breathing and with each breath you will feel becoming awake again.

Overall, it is easy to go into trance because in everyday life we go into light trance without knowing it. But the critical part is to utilize it to help the subject to achieve the desired results. It is easy to achieve light state of trance with practice. The hypnotist is an educator giving information about the techniques. It is really difficult to achieve hypnosis if the subject doesn't want to be of if his thoughts are not clear.

Learn more and find out how you can benefit from easy hypnosis. YOU can use it to lose weight, stop smoking, kick substance abuse habits, improve self esteem and so much more! <bio>Visit, subscribe to and bookmark: http://easyhypnosistips.com for your health and self improvement aids.
Essentially, the word hypnosis is just another word for relaxation. Yes hypnosis is brought on by suggestion, but it's that deep state of relaxation that qualifies hypnosis. I sometimes use the term creative relaxation. When I say that, I'm referring to the fact that it's the use of hypnosis that I call therapy. I've always defined hypnosis as just what it is, an altered state of awareness through deep relaxation.

Some people define relaxing as just taking time to read through a magazine or have a cup of tea. But really just changing activities is not relaxation. When you reach a state of total relaxation through hypnosis, you will see the difference. And it's in this totally relaxed state that you can bring some balance back into your life. Some people call it recharging their batteries or use any other metaphoric term, but it all means the same thing.

Real, deep, relaxation used daily or regularly has a terrific effect on all our internal systems, far beyond what a coffee break can do.

As to the question of whether sleep is equivalent to relaxation, most of us know from experience that it is not. Experts even state that hypnosis, or deep relaxation, is actually more beneficial to the overall well-being than merely sleeping nightly. We know that sleep can be disturbed by stressful energies and that we can wake up feeling even less rested, less energized, than when we went to sleep. However a deliberately executed session in hypnosis, or relaxation, has you concentrating very pointedly on just that, relaxing. You lie very still, and you let only positive energy consume you. Essentially, when you practice self-hypnosis, you control the result by guiding the entire session. All hypnosis is based on total relaxation. This is certainly more beneficial than just going to sleep because you are tired.

Power naps are useful in recharging as well, and addressing fatigue, but during deep relaxation or hypnosis, you are also creating the opportunity to reduce or alleviate a particular ailment through concentration. Sleep, whilst absolutely necessary, doesn't allow this opportunity. If you spend ten or twenty minutes a day or several times a week, practicing self hypnosis, you are sure in a few short weeks to feel a difference in your life, to feel more balanced, and more relaxed, and more in tune physically, emotionally, and in every other way.

There are probably hundred of ways you can achieve a deep state of relaxation, but they have one common element, which is deep breathing. It is a natural human occurrence that when you exhale, your body relaxes. This is a known fact, and a biological certainty. That's why it's the first thing that a medical professional will ask a patient to do when he wants his patient to relax.

In any type of emergency or panic situation, the victim is always instructed to take deep breaths. This is intended to calm, or relax the individual.

The more deeply you inhale, the more you will exhale, and therefore the more you will relax. So when we want to induce hypnosis, deep breathing is the first suggestion we make, typically because it starts to bring on relaxation. And when the person starts to relax and regulate their breathing, they will become gradually more relaxed.

We know also that when we sleep, our breathing slows and settles into a quiet, deep rhythm. We seek to achieve the same thing in hypnotic induction, to slow the breathing rhythm, because slowing our breathing slows down our system, and helps to bring about a shift in awareness. We achieve this state by slowing a person's breathing naturally and comfortably.

Starting an induction with a few deep breaths immediately creates a shift, and sends the message to the person that now it's time to relax. When you add concentration to the equation, you have a terrific recipe for hypnotic induction. Because concentrating on your breathing helps you become more aware of your internal experience. A person's breathing pattern can often be a telling sign for a hypnotist that a subject has achieved a deep state of relaxation, and slipped into a state of hypnosis.

In my hypnotherapy sessions I don't impose any set technique to deep breathing. Whatever a person's natural breathing method is what they should continue to do. There seems to be a typical pattern of breathing in through the nose, while exhaling out the mouth. If that's the comfortable breathing technique fro someone, that's perfect. If it's in and out through the nose, that's also fine. Whatever you are used to or whatever comes naturally.

You can practice this on your own, at any time. Just concentrate on taking a few deep breaths, and you will feel your shoulders drop, and your heart rate will settle. This is relaxation and the basis of hypnosis. <bio>Barrie St John is a master of self hypnosis and is the author behind the CDs and downloads at http://www.HypnoShop.com </bio>

Relaxation Tip 5 Exercise.

Exercise is a great way to reduce stress. The minimum recommendation for exercise for body maintenance is at least 30 minutes for 5 days a week. Exercise also induces deep breathing and besides the obvious effects of exercise for loosing weight and keeping fit you also improve your body image and self esteem. This will help you will feel more confident and able to cope with the stress of everyday life.

Relaxation Tip 6 Time for yourself.

Ensuring you find time for yourself this is a very important and often overlooked when you are busy at home or work. Take that all-important time out to do just what you want which may include finding time to do some of the relaxation techniques just discussed.

If you are a busy parent remember to take care of your self as well as taking care of your family. If you have kids get them to bed early enough so you have time to relax doing what you want to. If they are older children you can agree with them I want the lounge to myself (or to you and your partner) after say... 9 o'clock.

Relaxation Tip 7 Have a cut off time.

Having a cut off time is such a simple relaxation technique it is often forgotten. Make a promise to yourself "I will only work to a certain time" and then be disciplined enough to really stop at that agreed time and then do something you enjoy and can relax with, taking your mind off things. You can also use this as quality time with your partner, keeping the relationship fresh and healthy. Spending time together relaxing and not worrying about work, the home, the kids and the never ending steam of bills will be very important to you both. Treat yourselves to a warm romantic atmosphere with aromatic candles, a nice meal and talk about things you enjoy rather than the pressures of the day.

Relaxation Tip 8 Have somewhere to do your own thing.

Try and have an area somewhere where you can do your own thing, a hobby, pastime or a sport. Keep it clear, tidy and ready to use when you need it. This could be as simple as having a comfy chair ready to read in (make sure it is not covered with washing and ironing!). If you have an area for keeping fit in, it is not very relaxing thinking I will go and get a few press-ups done if you find you need to spend half an hour moving bikes and garden tools!

It is not selfish taking time to relax; indeed it is vital that you do so. The benefits of relaxation are overwhelming. Applying relaxation techniques consistently will improve your health and your well being, helping you alleviate conflict in your relationships at work, with friends and your family, and ultimately promoting a long and happy life. <bio>You are free to reproduce this article.
Stressed out? Nothing seems to be going right? Don't worry; you are among the millions of people worldwide who reportedly are stressed out. This article will help with stress management techniques that will help manage the stress in your life.

Meditation

There is nothing mystical about meditation, its something that can easily be done by following the following steps

• Find a place where you can sit quietly and comfortably.

• Close your eyes

• Start with contracting and relaxing the muscles of your feet, work up your body all the way to your face

• Focus your attention on your breathing. Breathe in deeply then let breath out. Count your breaths as you let them out. This will give you something to focus on, Do this technique for 10-20 minutes at a time. It should help to relex you help minimize the impact of stress on you both physically and mentally.

Use Music and Relaxation Tapes

A alternate approach to relaxation is listening to calming music or relaxation or hypnosis tapes. It takes little effort to listen to these tapes and music, and will be very welcome at the end of a long stressful day. You can buy relaxing music and meditation tapes most places. A good source is to look online and get one that you would be interested in. A good site to look at is Relaxation tape music. They have a lot of good resources that will help melt the stress away.

Self Hypnosis

Self hypnosis is when you hypnotize yourself. Often this method is more effective than normal hypnosis as you do it yourself, causing no added stress of meeting with a hypnotist.

• Find somewhere comfortable and quiet to sit down.

• Relax your body. One way to do this is to imagine waves of imagination running down your body starting from your scalp moving downwards.

• Deep the relaxation. Saying statements like I am feeling relaxed and comfortable. With every breath I am becoming more relaxed and more comfortable. You can use several different statements to become more comfortable and relaxed.

Typical self hypnosis sessions typically last 15 and 25 minutes however, they can last as long as you like.

In conclusion, there are several methods that you can use to relax and help minimize the stress in your life. Use some of these ideas, and in no time you will be less stressed and more ready to tackle the problem of stress in your own life. Good luck! <bio>John Furnem is a dot com veteran, specializing in human resources and work psychology he has written articles and held workshops/seminars for stress relief and stress management.
Herbs can certainly help you to stay well. We have considered elsewhere the benefits of Dr Christopher's herbal 'cascara compound' formula, which is chosen by very many people. But lifestyle habits too have a great benefit when you are Colon Cleansing.

The most important areas of lifestyle to consider when you wish to support Colon Cleansing are:

1. Diet 2. Exercise 3. Relaxation.

This article focuses on relaxation -- often underestimated in Colon Cleansing but, as you will see, the state of relaxation of your body can affect the bowel profoundly. Stress can have a tremendous effect on the colon. For example, people who suffer from IBS often have a 'high stress' type of personality.

Colon Cleansing And Relaxation

Two common bad habits people often have which build up stress are: overwork, and spending too much time on others and too little on themselves.

These two 'bad habits' require a change of behaviour fundamentally. On top of this, herbs can help to support good nerve function by nourishing the nervous system.

To change habits, we suggest you look at your particular patterns of stress. Do you dislike your job? Have you got ongoing relationship issues which need addressing? Are you too keen to say 'yes' when you wish you said 'no' more often?

These are behavioural issues which it would be wise to address to reduce your stress levels and encourage relaxation. These stresses are not just outside you - they have repercussions inside too; and it is often the bowel which suffers in many cases, hence IBS, for example. So, consider counselling, NLP, hypnotism; read books on changing habits and implement some of these behavioural methods to help you to stress out less and relax more.

Physical Support - eg With Herbs

As opposed to the helping yourself psychologically, on the physical side herbs can strengthen the nerves tremendously and so help you in your efforts to relax.

For example, a 90-day programme of support for the nervous system can be a great way to build and nourish the nerves. Once you have found a herbal regime - such as a 90-day nerve programme - that works for you, you can repeat it, say, once a year. Perhaps you can do this at a time during the year you know you regularly feel low. For example, some people find this beneficial first thing in the New Year, or perhaps before the cold winter weather kicks in.

The nerves affect colon health so strongly, that you must consider nurturing them when you wish to get the best out of Colon Cleansing. So - for the good of your whole health, do look after your nerves. As appropriate, focus on yourself more; build in 'you' time; go out; or stay in and read a book. Get a new job; or bring relationship issues into the open.

Address Stress - And Relaxation - As Soon As You Can

These issues can be challenging; but it is your life and your health; sometimes you have to make a difficult move to keep yourself healthy in the long term. This may involve more stress short term to produce less stress long term. <bio>Max Hill, a practitioner for over 20 years, has written extensively about colon cleansing for http://www.alternative-healthzine.com and http://www.shs100.com.
Russian martial art training and kettlebell training involves elements of strength, flexibility and relaxation. Many would argue that speed and technique should also be included, but given that you have trained in all three of these disciplines, then speed will come naturally. Technique is immaterial: it is related to what you do, not how you do it.

Training, on the other hand, is how you do what you do. The what is irrelevant. It is the how that matters. A boxer cares not what a karate student does, but only what he himself does. A man or woman facing opponents is not concerned with what others can do, but only with they do themselves. It is not the `what' but the `how' that matters, and the `how' is related to training, practice and knowledge.

The training of Russian martial artists is designed to improved the `how'. Russian martial art has no need of pre-orchestrated movements or katas as Japanese and Chinese martial arts have. Much has been written about Russian martial arts and their means of attack and self defence, a lot of which is based on the popular view of the Russian Special Forces. Most Special Forces can employ the techniques used by their Russian counterparts, but it is the Russian methods of training that make the difference.

Pavel Tsatsouline, trainer to the Russian military and then the American Special Forces and other military personnel, teaches you the secrets of the super-strong and of attaining supreme martial arts power. He does this through use of Russian kettlebells and the tension and relaxation techniques used by the Cossacks who could slice a man from shoulder to buttocks with only a light one handed sabre.

The Cossacks trained by standing in a lake or river up to their waist and then slicing into the water with their sabres for hours on end. The secret was to be in total relaxation until the moment of strike when all the power of the body was concentrated in the one blow, and then reverting to total bodily relaxation immediately after. In that way, strength and stamina were maintained while the blow itself was imparted with the maximum possible strength of the whole body.

Flexibility is the true secret behind supreme martial art power, and the one bodily attribute that is most ignored and misunderstood by the majority of martial art exponents. Russian martial art techniques make best use of supreme strength and absolute power through the understanding of how to properly relax between blows. The supreme power of a martial art punch is used through a total understanding of the levers of the body, the muscles that move them and the relaxation that allows these muscles to exert maximum power to the levers.

A powerful punch is a rapid snap with maximum power and then total relaxation until the next punch. Russians are trained in dynamic relaxation exercises in all athletic training, and the fast and loose techniques they use are ideal for the rigors of absolute mastery in martial arts.

Russian martial art training and kettlebell training is not the theatrically disciplined art of the Chinese and Japanese, but a technique designed for maximum power and effect in attack and not just self defence. The use of the power of the human body can be maximized only by developing the supreme strength possible through kettlebell exercise, and the flexibility and relaxation techniques as taught by the master of the Russian martial art, Pavel Tsatsouline, master teacher of Russian and American Special Forces personnel. <bio>For more information on Russian martial art mastery, and the acquisition of supreme power and strength, check out Pete's web page http://www.welshhealth.com.russian.html where you will learn the Russian and Chinese secrets of flexibility, strength and relaxation that can turn you into a hard hitting fighting ball of fury. </bio>

There are a number of different massager type tools on the market. These are delivering to people a number of benefits ranging from relaxation to muscle recovery benefits. If you love getting a massage and look forward to heading to the local massage therapy location but hate the cost of it, a massager may help. Although these tools can not give you the same quality of a massage as an actual qualified person can, they can give you a bit of relaxation until you can get into your massage technician. Consider them the tool to use in between visits.

There are quite a few different options on the market. You might want to start with one that will help you to relax right when you leave work. For example, a popular choice is those that fit over the back of a chair and allow you to have your back massaged as you drive. These are a good choice, if you insure that they are positioned carefully and that they can provide you with the right strength of massage for your needs. Some even offer heat massage benefits. These massagers are actually inexpensive, too.

Others are used for specific areas of your body. For example, a massager that provides a foot massage may be a good choice for those looking for a nice foot massage. Others are made specifically for locations of the back and even hand massagers.

Each of these works in different ways but generally they work by rolling pressure over your muscle groups, helping them to relax. Some are more beneficial to you than others, but only experience can help you to reach your own goals.

A massage is a great tool to use to help you to relax when you can't make it to your favorite massage professional. Consider giving a massager as a gift, to yourself! <bio>Jenny Ambrose has worked for many years as a masseuse and has written amazing articles on massage and its considerable benefit for our health and well being.
It's a beautiful day outside, maybe you have plans to sit outside in your hammock, patio, or beach lounger. You put on your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/stylish+sunglasses" rel="tag">stylish sunglasses, let out a big breath of relaxation and delve right into your latest read.

It's tough to relax when the font in your book is so small and fuzzy, isn't it? Well there is a way to read easier while outside and still manage to protect your eyes while looking and feeling good. That is a lot to promise for a simple pair of reading sunglasses, and that is all you need to reclaim your outdoor relaxation.

There are a few things to consider when choosing your sunglasses. For starters, what power do use? In general the higher the power in your readers, the smaller font you can see. However, you will also have to hold your reading material closer. A good rule of thumb is to use the lowest power that will allow you to see your reading material at a comfortable distance. This way, you won't get a stiff neck by leaning in too close. That would defeat the whole purpose of relaxation.

The next thing to consider is what style lens you like. In general there are two lens types for reading sunglasses. The full lens sun reader will have a reading correction over the entire lens. Meaning you will not be able to use your sunglasses to see anything in the distance. These lenses offer a full view of your reading material as long as you understand that you will need to look over your glasses or simply take them off to see clearly in the distance. Another style is the bifocal sunglass. A bifocal lens has two distinct areas of correction. The lower segment has a reading add, while the top portion is a pure sunglass, with no correction. With Bifocals you can read up close and still see clearly in the distance through the same pair of readers.

You will also want to select an appropriate tint for your lenses. Just like regular sunglasses, sun readers are available in varying tints. You will find lenses varying from a light rose tint all the way to heavy darker shade. More recently, you will even find polarized reading bifocals.

Be sure to purchase your sun readers from a reputable reading glasses retailer. Look for quality, such as the readers you will find at http://www.readinstyle.com/catalog/ReadingSunglasses.aspx . You want frames that will look and feel good. And your sunglass lenses should always offer 100% UVA and UVB protection.

Take back your relaxation time; after all, no one deserves it more than you. <bio>Suzanne Hughes is a style expert when it comes to http://www.readinstyle.com.
Anyone who has experienced massage will be the first to tell you of its profound effect on their physical and emotional well-being; lowered blood pressure, increased circulation, stress relief, muscle relaxation -- the benefit of massage therapy can be seen on the outside and felt on the inside. It's no wonder that practice of massage therapy may be the oldest form of medicine.

The benefit of massage therapy was realized very early on and its primitive practices date back to ancient Chinese, Indian, Greek, and Roman cultures that used massage to treat everything from pain to paralysis. References to massage can be seen even as early as 2,700 B.C. in The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine, a Chinese medical reference book.

Medical professionals today also recognize the benefit of massage therapy and use it in conjunction with more traditional medicine. In fact, more than half of hospitals in the United States use massage therapy as a part of their program. Doctors have seen firsthand the benefit of massage therapy in the improvement of mobility, the combating of stress, the relief of pain, even the bolstering of the immune system. For these reasons, massage is also used consistently in intensive care units, in labor and delivery units, and with newborn babies.

In addition to physical reasons associated with medical care, the benefit of massage therapy also extends to emotional well-being. Massage has become an accepted and respected form of holistic therapy; many people use it on a frequent basis for stress relief and relaxation. Of course, this relaxation also results in lowered blood pressure that, in turn, has positive effects on the body's overall health.

Doctors have even used the benefit of massage therapy in the treatment of cancer, as it has been shown to significantly boost immunity, and to relieve the discomfort caused by traditional cancer treatments.

The benefit of massage therapy extends across the board in boosting physical and emotional health. Whether you use it as a tool for relaxation or as a holistic approach to your medical care, you will find that massage does wonders for your overall vitality. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about massage visit our ezGuide 2 http://massage.ezguide2.com </bio>

A panic attack can be an extremely frightening experience because, during one, people imagine the worst possible things happening to them =96 they may fear they are dying, suffocating, having a heart attack, or even going crazy. Treating panic attacks is an important process. Though it is true that a panic attack is harmless, but repeated panic attacks may lead to deterioration of the mental condition (which will then percolate down to the physical well-being) if left untreated. Generally, relaxation techniques are used to treat mild panic attacks. But if the attacks are serious then medication is needed.

Methods of Treating Panic Attacks

Medication, relaxation techniques and behavioral therapy are the common ways used in treating panic attacks, with medication being the most popular method. However, before any patient is put on medication, it is important that he/she is evaluated by a mental health professional. Here are, in brief, the various treatments available to deal with panic attacks:

Medications such as sertraline, fluoxetine, paroxetine, or fluvoxamine help relieve anxiety and stress, and are often the first choice of medication administered to a patient. Benzodiazepines such as alprazolam and clonazepam help too. The problem with allopathic medication is that a patient begins depending on it and gets addicted to these medications, sometimes even for life. Also, if this medication is stopped abruptly, then panic attacks may recur. The medication is usually prescribed for 3=966 weeks (once daily), but the doctor is the best person to decide the dosage and the time period.

Relaxation techniques, which a patient can practice at home, are effective too in controlling panic attacks. As these relation techniques are natural in nature, there are no side effects involved. However, the flip-side is that a patient will be in no mood to try out these techniques unless his mind is calmed instantly, which is something only medication can do.

Apart from these, there is also behavioral therapy, which is nothing but psychotherapy and counseling based on the cognitive model of emotional response. The therapist teaches and trains a patient and makes him realize that it is the way he thinks that causes the panic attack. Then the therapist trains the patient to replace this destructive thinking with positive thoughts, which will over a period of time stop the panic attacks.

In Conclusion

Which treatment works for whom depends on how mentally prepared and tough a patient is. Treating panic attacks is certainly something that has been accomplished before. But all said and done, most patients prefer to start off on medication for a quick fix and then move on to the relaxation techniques or the behavioral therapy methods of treating panic attacks. <bio>Panic Attack Treatment =96 Got a panic attack?
If you're looking for a way to cool down, calm and even stop facial blushing altogether, you need to know what works and what will simply add fuel to the flames.

In this article, as an ex blusher myself, I would like to point out a very effective and simple mental theory that will aid you in times of need, particularly when you feel the blushing is at its worst.

Just Relax...

Yes I know, it's not easy...but hang in there for a second...

In fact, it's far easier said than done isn't it? Well, let me reassure you. When you first climbed onto your brand new bicycle that you had for Christmas, did you think that you would always fall off? Well, maybe so, but something made you want to keep on climbing back onto that hunk of metal for another try...

....but what made you put yourself through that?

It's not because you knew that the experience of riding a bike was so joyful. That couldn't have been the reason...because how would you have even known what it was like to ride a bike in the first place?

It's actually because you knew that it was possible to learn and more importantly, at that tender age, you didn't have the negative thought pattern that would make to doubt your ability to improve yourself. The way you saw it, if other kids can then so can you. Plus, you didn't want that bike to go to waste or have some other kid ride it whilst you stood by the wayside...right?

So how does this relate to the ability to relax?

Well, it's very much the same actually. The art of relaxation is a form which must be practiced with the same discipline that you held just as you did when learning to cruise on those two wheels all those years ago.

You must learn the art of being able to switch your "relaxation mode" on and off like a tap. That way, when you face difficult situations and you really need to stop facial blushing episodes, the new found skill of relaxation will help you maintain a lower heart rate and aid you in seeing things in a more healthy and calm perspective.

Take five minutes out of each day, sit in a quiet place free from distraction and close your eyes. Make sure you are comfortable and notice your breathing. The idea is to slow your breathing down and relax every muscle in your body. Breathe air to the bottom of your lungs and allow your tummy to expand, not your chest.

The more you can train your body to fall into a deeper sense of relaxation each day, the better adjusted you will be when you need to quickly get into that state of relaxation in the future.

So next time you see the task of learning to relax as an inconvenience or time consuming chore, remember back to when your bike riding teacher let go of the frame and watched you glide off into the distance with full control. Because that feeling you had back then is the feeling that awaits you in the very near future...a life free from excessive blushing.

There are many theories for a blushing free life. I can only hope you are not led to the ones that cost you more time, pain and discomfort than the original problem of blushing itself. Instead, I would encourage you to visit http://www.facialredness.co.uk and see how you can block out and stop facial blushing for good with my unique system before the spiral goes too far. <bio>There are many theories for a blushing free life.
