When we say "domain name register" we are basically dealing of two things. On one hand, the term domain name register is another term that is often applied for domain registration, and on the other hand, the domain name register may refer to a certain company which provides a domain name registration, such as those domain name registrars.

So in this article, I will cover in general those two areas for identifying the rules for the domain name register. It is a fact that presenting both those ideas will greatly help in better understanding of the matter.

So, the domain name register is then a process through which a domain name consumer registers a domain name with a domain name registrar company. The process for the domain name register essentially comprises selecting a domain name that the domain name consumer desires. It is then noted that the purpose for the domain name register is to make sure that someone else has not already taken the domain name and through collecting information about the consumer.

The data collected is consist of the name, address, phone number, e-mail and occasionally a few other information like the fax number. Speaking of the data collection of the domain name register, it is interesting to learn that the above mentioned data is collected for the domain name consumer, the Administrative contact, the billing contact, and the technical contact.

Moreover, in the domain name register, each of those mentioned contacts has the capability to perform several moves relating to the domain name, however, the consumer is the ultimate holder. The administrative contact then has almost completely the same willpower as of the consumer. Why? Perhaps it is for the reason that the consumer is always a corporation and the Administrative contact is the person within the corporation who is also responsible for the domain name.

Also compiled in the domain name register is the Domain Name System or DNS which the domain name consumer would like to apply. Generally, the DNS for the domain name register is consists of a principal and secondary name server that lets the internet traffic know about where the internet host for the domain name can be found. Along with this, in the domain name register, the DNS data is given by all web hosts and then can be taken by simply asking those who process the domain name register for the DNS that the consumer greatly needs to connect the domain name to their domain name servers. So such is the matters involved in the domain name register. <bio>Who Else Wants To Get Their Hands On My Closely-Guarded BILLION-DOLLAR Collection Of 73 Winning Advertisements and Sales Letters- FOR FREE!
One of the biggest questions in terms of registering a domain name is "How to register a domain name?" Many people especially those who love to own a domain name often wonder on how to register a domain name, and still stumble with such problem over and over again.

So, how to register a domain name?

According to many resources, the domain name registration is not a lengthy process. However, to make such process not lengthy and so to answer the problem on how to register a domain name, the effort and interest of the domain name consumers is much needed. It is in their hands that the true answer of the biggest problem on how to register a domain name lies.

So in place of the domain name consumers, the first step for the domain name registration is to look for a domain name registrar, whether by word or mouth, by means of advertising, or through a search engine. Well, for particular mention, the common way for knowing the answer to the problem on how to register a domain name is by using a domain name search engine.

Once the domain name consumer is in the domain name registrar's place for knowing the answer on how to register a domain name, the consumer must then check the availability of a desired domain name. After such step involved in answering the question "How to register a domain name", the domain name registrar then communicates with a certain domain name registry to ensure ascertain if the desired domain name is still free for purchase or the desired domain name is already taken by a third party. But if the domain name is still available, the domain name consumer will only learn the answer on how to register a domain name but will get hold of the desired domain name.

It is also considered that during the process of finding answers on how to register a domain name, the domain name consumers join the contact information and the Domain Name System information for the desired domain name. After such effort for finding answers on how to register a domain name, the contacted registry will file the contact information for the Whois. Also, the registry adds the zone documents to the master servers, which on the way transmits the information on how to locate the domain name consumer's site. So now, the update should propagate and the answer on how to register a domain name is solved. <bio>Discover What It Really Takes To Succeed And Profit From Your Online Business And Find Out The Little Discussed Facts That People Ignore - Or Choose To Ignore - That Makes You Either An Internet Entrepreneur Or Simply, Plain Broke! http://www.internetentrepreneurship.com You May Reproduce this article as long as an active hyperlink is accompanied. </bio>

You've planned your website and it's time to register your domain name. This may seem like a daunting process, but it's actually a lot faster and easier than most people think.

When you're ready to register your domain name, the first step is to find a good domain name registrar. Your search can be done by word of mouth, by referring to advertisements, or through an online search engine. When you've made your choice, you'll register your domain name and begin to check for availability. At this time, you'll find out if your domain name is available for purchase, or someone else has already registered it. There are countless domain names in use, with more being registered every day. If by some stroke of luck you are able to register your domain name, do it, and don't think twice.

The next step to register your domain name is to enter your contact information and the DNS (Domain Name System) information for the desired name. This process will ensure that your details will be distributed and held within the particular registry for the TLD purchased. The registry will then file the contact information, and add zone documents to the root servers. These documents will tell other servers how to find your site. After this, the updated information needs to proliferate or propagate. The proliferation is the length of time that will be required for your domain name registration, or changes to the DNS details, to be propagated throughout the DNS. At this point you are actually inserting an entry into a directory of all the domain names and their equivalent computers on the web.

When you register your domain name, the registrar will likely have the flexibility to provide the initial registration, followed by domain name renewals in one-year increments. In doing so, you can have a total domain name registration period limit of up to ten years. Each registrar sets the price it charges for registering domain names and prices can vary significantly among various registrars, so shop around.

It's not a terribly difficult or lengthy process to register your domain name but, like any important task, it does require effort. Find a good domain name that will allow Internet users to quickly and easily find your site, and register it with a reputable domain name registrar. Once you've registered your domain name, you'll be on the road to website success. <bio>Daniel Davis contributes articles to several Internet magazines, such as http://bekad.com and http://zylep.com </bio>

If you wish to register a domain name is not that simple as it seems. If you register the right domain name, then web users will find your site easily. But, if you register the wrong one, then they will not be able to visit your web site and finally you will lose traffic. A wrong decision will bring down your site's growth and certainly this is not what you want.

Nowadays, every country sells domains with its own extension and has at least sold the rights of the country extension to web companies who are known as registrars(you contact to such companies when you want to register a domain name of the extension that they are accredited with).

Most web users automatically type .com when they are not sure of the extension of a domain name. Most of us we can remember the basic name and if we are not sure about the extension the first characters that come up in our mind is .com.

Needless to say that is the most wanted extension. The extension that when someone checks the availability of a domain the first extension that tries is .com. Nevertheless, there are a large number of extensions out there and which one is that you will register it's up to many factors which the location you are found is the most important of these.

People will remember your site's name and its extension, but will they remember that your site's domain name has a dash in it? If you register a domain name with a dash in it, you may face problems in marketing. This is not a big matter, but keep it in mind. Use a dash between the words of your domain only in secondary domain names.

You can also register as secondary domain names the ones with numbers. These domains can serve a purpose but like dashed domain names, you can see only a few big web sites that incorporate numbers in their main domain.

Do not forget to keep your domain as short as possible. Try to find out a good and sensible name that will represent the stuff of your web site. When it is for large domain names the most of the times we confuse the characters and at the end we are not so sure of the whole domain name. We continue giving shots until we finally find the one we are looking for.

Many sites use prefixes in their main domain name. The most popular are i (or i-), e (or e-) and v (or v-). I is most commonly for "Internet," e for "electronic" and v for "virtual." Although, practically every letter could be a prefix.

At the end, there are hundreds or thousands of domain name registrars for hundreds of extensions. Whoever you choose, make sure they are accredited and check out its prices. Usually the registration period of a domain name is one or two years or up to ten. Before you register a domain name, make a choice taking into consideration all the above issues. <bio>Nick Papas is the founder of http://www.ip.gr

a major web hosting domain registration company in Greece. </bio>

You may be wondering if you should get a .com, .net, .info, or ..whatever kind of domain. So many different kinds of domain extensions to choose from, and so little time. If you are registering a domain name for a for profit business, you should always register a .com domain. From a brand perspective, there is no better domain than a .com domain. Most people associate business domains with the .com extension just like they associate school domains with the .edu extension.

It may not make any difference in the beginning, but the more successful you become the more it could hurt you. Let's say you develop a new product idea and the .com domain name you want to call it is not available, so you register the .net domain instead. Sounds harmless enough. Now, let's fast-forward a couple of years. You have spent time and money to develop your brand and people are searching for your product online with the ..com extension simply because they expect you to own the domain with the .com extension.

Another reason to shy away from other than .com domain names is that someone may already have copyright protection for the domain name you want to register. Look further if the .com domain you desire is not available. Even if you don't find the exact domain you initially searched for, you may find one that is better than your original idea.

Whenever the domain you desire is not available through the registrar, you can try purchasing it from the registered owner. Unfortunately, many people register domain names to take advantage of others. The common name for such a person is domain squatter. I only recommend buying domain names from domain squatters if you have money to burn. The more they know you want it, the worse your chances of getting a good deal.

In other situations, someone may have good reason to own your desired domain name. It is unlikely that you'll be able to buy the domain name from a thriving online business. It is possible that you run across a Web site with the perfect domain name for your business. <bio>George Meszaros with Webene http://www.webene.com </bio>

Domain name registration prices are a market that is pretty well stable. There are higher and lower prices with various companies, but overall they are within a few dollars of one another. Where the prices of domain name registration can really be compared is within the realm of number of domains, number of years, and the suffixes. So here is a little bit about domain name registration prices compared based on the length of time, number of domains, and the suffix the name has.

The fist part of domain name registration prices compared is the number of domains that you are registering. With most any reputable registration company, you will get a better price per domain with more domain names registered at the same time. So in order to get the best price you will usually need to register hundreds of domains. You can expect to save as much as 11% if you register in bulk with your domain registrar.

Another to consider when domain name registration prices are compared is the number of years you register for at the same time. For instance, if you register for just one year you may only pay four dollars, but if you register your domain name for 10 years you could save several dollars per year. That is not to say you should always register for several years, but that you should register for the maximum number of years that make sense for you. Consider how big of a commitment you want to make to the name and then how much you want to spend on the registration. Remember, even though you will pay more, you can always renew as your time frame for registration ends.

The third factor and one that many do not think about, when domain name registration prices are compared is the suffix of the domain you choose. There are actually a number of suffixes now available on the internet, from the traditional .com to the less well known .ws and .tv suffixes. Now not only do you have to qualify for certain suffixes, but also there are different prices associated with each one. As a general rule, .com, .net, and .org are the cheapest domains and are usually under $10 each. The most expensive is usually .ws or .us, which can run you up over $20 per year. However, you do have to remember that the other factors will affect the price as well. So if you look to register for 5-10 years you will find that sometimes those ..tv or .ws suffixes can be as little as one or two years with a ..biz or .info suffix.

Domain name registration prices compared is something that you may think about doing between companies. However, the best way of comparing registration prices is within the types of registration. Bulk registration, certain suffixes, and longer registrations will net you less cost in the long run. So when you think about comparing domain name registration you should consider the various types of registration, the length, and the amount so that you can get the best price for your domain name registration in the end. <bio>Stu Pearson has an interest in Technology related topics.
Are you an established retailer who is looking to replace or update your current POS equipment pieces, like a POS cash register? If you are, you may already know that you have a number of different options. Two of your main options involve buying complete POS cash register systems or buying each POS system component individually. If you are unsure as to which POS purchasing approach you should take, you will want to continue reading on.

When it comes to buying your POS equipment in the form of a complete POS cash register system, you will find that there are a number of benefits to doing so. One of those benefits is ease of shopping. It is no secret that it can sometimes be difficult purchasing POS equipment for your retail establishments. Many business owners, possibly just like you, are often concerned with costs, support, and ease of use. When buying your POS equipment in the form of a complete POS cash register system, many of your worries can be calmed, as each system component is guaranteed to be compatible with each other.

In keeping with ease of shopping, buying your POS equipment in the form of a complete POS cash register system can also have you a considerable amount of time. As a business owner, you likely already know that time is money. Spending days or even weeks researching individual POS components can be time consuming and time is a luxury that you may not necessarily have. Since most POS cash register systems are composed of countertop barcode scanners, handheld barcode scanners, computer screens, cash register keyboards, cash drawers, credit card scanners, age verification machines, and so forth, your purchase time can be significantly reduced.

Another one of the many benefits to buying your POS equipment in the form of a complete POS cash register system is reassurance. When buying your POS cash register components individually, it is your responsibility to make sure that all components are compatible with each other, as well as the POS software that you choose to have installed. While this is more than possible to do, it can be an overwhelming process. As previously stated, each system component, when buying a complete POS cash register system, is compatible with the whole system. In this instance, buying a complete POS cash register system can not only save you a considerable amount of time, but it can also save you a considerable amount of comparison, research, and stress.

As for purchasing your POS cash register system components independently and individually, you will also find that there are a number of benefits to doing so as well. One of those benefits is the ability to have the products of your choice. While most complete POS cash register systems will meet and possibly exceed all of your expectations, you may be looking for something in particular. For instance, you may be looking to purchase a uniquely designed POS barcode scanner, but at the same time, you may be unable to find what you were looking for in a complete POS cash register package. In that instance, it may be worthwhile to make your POS equipment purchases individually.

Purchasing your POS cash register system components individually and independently is also ideal if you are not looking for complete POS cash register systems. For example, your main POS cash register may function properly, but you may need to purchase a new handled barcode scanner or a new credit card reader. In that instance, it may be worth it for you to purchase your needed components individually.

Whether you would like to make your POS equipment purchases in the form of a complete POS cash register system or as individual components, you may want to take the time to examine certified pre owned equipment. Certified pre owned POS equipment is equipment that undergoes a rigorous reconditioning process, which leaves each equipment piece looking and functioning like it is brand new. In fact, certified pre owned POS equipment can reduce your business expenses, as well as make it easier for you to see a return on your investment. <bio>Whether you are in need of complete http://www.VisionPOS.com cash register systems or individually sold POS components, such as barcode scanners, Vision Point of Sale, has what your business needs to achieve success. </bio>

Once you find out a good expired domain name after searching through a big catalogue of expired domains, the next obvious step is to register expired domain as per the existing rules and regulations stipulated by registering authorities. Following are few steps that registrars suggest you follow to register expired domain name:

People who wish to register expired domain should know all the legal and regulatory clauses and laws. When you know the nitty-gritty of working with an expired domain, you will be on a safer side, with a clean expired domain name in your hand. Several laws and legislations govern all aspects of expired domain name registration; most of these legal strictures are very rigid and one needs to follow them letter by letter.

To register expired domain name:

=95 Firstly, you will need to develop a list of potential expired domain names by surfing through the catalogue of names offered by the expired domain sellers.

=95Once you search through the list, you will need to segregate the available names based on their extension. There are a number of domains to choose from, ranging from .com, .biz to .org and ..info.

=95 By chance, when you find an immediately available domain name, you may need to rush and register immediately. If you have enough funds, you can even buy and register the closest possible substitutes. If you find a name that is similar to yours or if there is a hyphened version, then you may consider register them as well, just to protect your rights and virtual presence.

=95 If there is a domain name owned by a previous owner, you may wish to know the history and track record of that expired domain name. If the site is surrounded with a considerable amount of inbound traffic, there will be a huge rush for the domain due to its commercial importance. Such domains will have some tell-tale symbols prominently displayed on the home page of the site. A good expired domain will be listed on top of the list and it may carry a steep price tag.

Once you feel that you have a good expired domain name in your kitty, you can start initiating the process of registering the expired domain in question. Register expired domain as early as possible to prevent someone registering for it; right now, there is a fierce competition for available expired domain names and a good name may fetch considerable fortune.

Register expired domain to create an invaluable asset and a future goldmine. Registration of an expired domain will have to carry out in a stipulated period mentioned by the registrar. Once you become successful in registering your expired domain with the registrar who sold it to you, the next important thing is to protect all trademarks and logos associated with the domain. People register expire domain for a period of two years or more and keep it for their own use.
So what is a domain name?

Well it is your unique internet identity and choosing the right one is as important as the content of your website. If you have a business online then your domain name is your own brand. There can never be two companies with the same domain name which makes this unique. A domain name is the unique address used to identify your site. Computers use IP (internet protocol) addresses which are a series of numbers used to identify each other. Domain names were developed so that easily remembered names could be used to identify the page instead of the number. If you put a correct IP number into a browser it would bring up the site as would putting the domain name in.

What is the best domain name?

Well the best domain name is one that is easy to remember and stands out. You want your domain name to stand out from the crowd and give you a decisive edge over your competitors. If your business is selling china flowers then chinaflowers.com or co.uk would be ideal, it describes the site well and people know they have come to the right site. Also using the companies' name as your domain name is great if you can get it. Using unique text that describes your website is a good idea. Using branding and keywords in the domain name can be tricky to accomplish but if you could use the words it would give you a head start. Most people believe .com names are the best but other people believe that it your site ends in .com then it's an American site. If your site ends in co.uk people believe that the site comes from the UK. Neither of these statements is true as anyone can register either a .com or .net domain from anywhere in the world. Because most domain names are snapped up quick then trying to get a domain name which is the name of your business is the best way to go even if you cannot get a .com domain.

Why should you re-register?

Well if you don't remember to re-register your domain, someone else could come along and register it themselves. Few people realize the importance of having their domain name and keeping it. So many people have a domain name and then forget to re-register or don't like the cost of re-registering so loose it. Or often people believe it they don't bother to re-register and wait a few weeks they can then register it again using a domain registration company where the prices in very little in comparison to re-registering the site before the domain expired. The trouble with doing that is that the domain could be snapped up by somebody else and you will have lost your unique online identity. So that is the chance you take. If you have a good online business and your website is generating a lot of new business and customers then it would be really stupid to let your domain go on the hope that you could save some money and register it again in a few weeks. The amount of money and business you could have lost in taking that chance would be better spent on re-registering the site in the first place. <bio>Carolyn is the webmaster for TelfordIT one of the UK's most successful http://www.telfordit.com reseller of domain names and hosting.
The cash register is a very important part of how commercial transactions have been done since 1879 when James Ritty invented the Ritty model after the Civil War. He owned a saloon in Dayton, Ohio and needed to find a way to keep his employees from stealing money from him. They were dipping out of the profits and he was not able to figure out who was doing it and exactly how much they were taking, but he knew it was happening.

Ritty was inspired by seeing a tool that counted propeller revolutions on a steamship, so with the help of John Birch in 1883, he was able to patent his Ritty Model. This was a great benefit to the commercial world because he was definitely not the only one encountering problems with employees pilfering profits within businesses. But Ritty became quite overwhelmed with running his cash register business and his saloon, so he sold all of the interest in his cash register business to a Cincinnati man by the name of Jacob H. Eckert. Eckert was a salesman who sold china and glassware and had created the National Manufacturing Company. Eckert then sold the National Manufacturing Company in 1884 to John H. Patterson. Patterson then renamed the company the National Cash Register Company.

Patterson went on to improve the functionality of the cash register by adding a roll of paper that transactions could be printed on. This is how the receipt was created and many transaction disputes come to an end. No longer were transaction issues a word game, but there was a piece of paper to prove it. However in 1906, the cash register was improved even more when a man named Charles F. Kettering, an employee for the National Cash Register Company, created a cash register that contained an electric motor.

All the way up until 1915, the cash register had found a home in virtually every retail store. The millionth register sold in 1911 and shopkeepers were able to keep track of their profits and their losses and keep their inventory in check. This made businesses even more competitive because they had actual numbers to go on. If there was a loss, then the shopkeeper would find a way to improve upon that loss.

The National Cash Register Company found so much success because in the 1880s and 1890s, Patterson found a way to sue all of the companies trying to compete with them in cash register sales. Some of these businesses were purchased by the National Cash Register Company and others were just put out of business all together. This was before antitrust laws existed, but in 1912 Patterson was charged with criminal conspiracy under the new Sherman Antitrust Law. The National Cash Register Company accounted for 95% of all cash register sales at that time. However, the National Cash Register Company remained the top seller of cash registers with 5900 employees on the payroll. It was in 1924 that they sold their two millionth machine.

Cash registers today

Since then, cash registers have touch screens and use the latest technology to compute transactions involving cash, checks, and credit cards. We see different variations of them in our grocery stores, department stores, and mom and pop stores. However, there is an initial on most of these cash registers that just might look familiar and that is the letters NCR, which stands for the National Cash Register Company. They certainly saw their ups and downs from being at the top of their game in 1957 in the computer market to their buyout by ATandT in 1991, but they gained their independence and once again began developing many of the state-of-the-art cash registers we see today.<bio>Counterfeit money is a serious problem costing businesses hundreds of thousands of dollars each and every year.
Are you interested in outfitting your retail stores with POS cash registers? POS cash registers have not only been known to improve a business's public perception, but their inventory records, as well as profits. For that reason, there is a good chance that you may be in the market for a POS cash register. If you are, do you know what to look for?

When it comes to buying a POS cash register for your retail establishments, whether they are supermarkets, department stores, or such, there are a number of steps that you will want to take. These steps, which are briefly touched on below, will make buying a POS register for your business a relatively easy task. Despite being a relatively easy task, it is one that you need to proceed with caution when doing. The POS cash register that you purchase may have a lasting impact on your retail business and its success.

One of most important steps that you will need to take is deciding which type of POS cash register you want to purchase. In addition to having a number of different POS cash register brands to choose from, including IBM POS systems, you will also want to examine the overall type of products being sold. For instance, when it comes to buying POS cash registers, you will find that you can purchase the equipment separately or altogether. Complete POS cash registers most commonly include cash draws, computer screens, keyboards, barcode scanners, credit card readers, receipt printers, and such. Purchasing complete POS cash register systems is likely to save you more money than buying each component individually.

Once you have determined what generalized type of POS cash register you would like for your stores, there are a number of other factors that you will want to take into consideration or steps that you will want to take. One thing that you will want to do is examine your budget, if you have one. Knowing how much you have to spend on POS cash registers will make shopping for them easier on you. POS cash registers, as mentioned above, come in a number of different makes and models, all of which are in different price tiers. Even if you are on a budget, you should still be able to find affordable POS cash registers, including ones that are referred to as certified pre owned.

Although the actual POS cash register system that you purchase is important, you will also want to examine the POS supplier that you choose to do business with. In this aspect, you will want to know exactly who you are doing business with. For starters, do they have a large selection of POS products, including POS cash registers available for sale? Better yet, do they have your preferred POS cash register make and model? If so, are the prices affordable? In addition to the products available for purchase, you may also want to examine the reputation of the company in question. Are they perceived in a positive matter? For the best service available, as well as the best POS products, you will want to do business with a POS company that has a proven track record.

In keeping with knowing who you are about to buy a POS cash register from, you will also want to examine the services offered by that company. What you need to remember is that you are essentially doing more than just purchasing a piece of equipment. You are actually purchasing a piece of equipment that needs to regularly be updated, as POS software is regularly updated or refreshed as new technology becomes available. Most POS suppliers will supply you with the necessary POS software updates free of charge or for a low fee, but not all will. Without the ability to regularly update your POS software, your POS cash register will essentially become obsolete. That is one of the many reasons why the POS supplier that you choose do business with, as well as the services that they offer play an important part in choosing a POS cash register. Choosing the right POS supplier will help to ensure the longer life and usability of your POS register.

When keeping the above mentioned points in mind, you will want examine VisionPOS.com for a large selection of POS cash register systems, including complete systems or individually sold parts and certified pre owned equipment. VisionPOS.com also has a software updating program, helpful technical support staff, and a maintence program, which as outlined above, is guaranteed to help extend the life of your POS cash register, as long as seven or ten additional years! <bio>Looking for the right http://www.visionpos.com equipment for your business? Need a barcode scanner for your POS terminal? Look at Vision POS for your business needs. Buy today and save! </bio>

Whether you want to come up with your own original name or wish to buy someone else's, here are some strategies for obtaining a profitable domain name.

1. Do It Now!

If you do think of or find a good domain name, don't procrastinate. Register or buy it now!

I've thought of a good name, checked it for availability, and then slept on it. When I went to register, the name was gone.

Years ago, one of my clients delayed in registering his company name and within a month someone else registered it.

The situation is even worse now. There is a lot of domain name speculation going on. Many simply register a name in the hope of selling it later to someone who desperately wants the domain.

It's really true in the domain name registration world: If you snooze, you lose.

2. Register Dot Com

There are practical reasons why you should consider registering a dot com name if at all possible.

When you go to sell, dot coms generally seem to go for more money than other Top Level Domains. Why is that?

It has been suggested that dot org or dot net are perceived to be second-rate because the owner either couldn't afford to buy the dot com name or their competitor had the foresight to register it first. (Obviously, an ISP having a dot net or a non-profit organization having a dot org would not necessarily be perceived in this way.)

Additionally, dot coms are easier for people to remember. If you have a dot org or a dot net, it is just one more thing for people to have to remember. First, people have to remember your website's name; then, they have to remember that your TLD (Top Level Domain) is not the commonly assumed dot com. You could lose some traffic to your dot com competitor.

3. Is It Practical?

Do you have a business use for the domain name? Is your name short and memorable? Does it describe or brand your business? Does it infringe on any trademarks? Is it free of hyphens, numbers, and other extraneous or confusing elements?

Give some careful thought to the above factors before registering or buying your domain name. It could be one of the best investments you ever made. <bio>J. Stephen Pope, President of Pope Consulting Inc., has been helping clients to earn maximum business profits for over twenty-five years.
If you are considering building an online business then you need a domain name. For search engine marketing the domain should consist of the main keyword related to your business. It should be short and without numbers or hyphens. These are the basic rules for domains ideally suited for high search engine ranking.

Let's say you have an idea but no web site. What is your first step? Well, you need to register the domain first.

The .com ending is the prefered domain for search engine optimization, however, if you are trading in the UK then the '.co.uk' domain ending is the natural choice. In this case, I recommend you register both.

When you register the domain it is a good idea to use a registrar that can provide email facilities for your domain. If you are not ready to upload a web site then you can still use your domain name for your email to your new domain.

Many companies provide free email and web forwarding with domain registration. This means that you are able to register the domain and 'point' it to any website address and forward any email sent to your domain to any existing email address.

However, what you really need is a 'full' email service for your domain when you register it.

If you just use email forwarding, then you are limited to only RECEIVING email to your domain which is forwarded to your main email address. You are still unable to SEND from your new domain. So if you are marketing your new site prior to launch, you really do need a full email address that allows both sending and receiving email to and from your domain name.

A full email service is one that includes POP3 mailboxes so you can both receive email sent to your domain address and send email from your domain name. This provides a much more professional look to your email marketing as the receiver of the email will see that the message is originating from a domain name related to the kind of service you are marketing and may avoid unnecessary spam complaints.

Some companies will offer Spam filtering with the domain service. Considering that 90% of email that is sent is Spam this service is extremely useful in keeping a tidy 'inbox'

Another feature to consider when registering the domain is autoresponders. An autoresponder can be set-up to provide automatic email responses. Autoresponders reply to incoming email instantly and automatically. You can set and change the text of the reply and the trigger address whenever you like. Autoresponders are ideal for customer service or informing people when you are away.

Most companies that register your domain will offer a 'full email service' as an extra and is usually a monthly fee similar to a hosting fee.

When you are ready to upload a web site to your domain then you will need a hosting plan. The company that registered your domain may provide hosting facilities and it should be a simple upgrade of service from 'forwarding' to 'hosting' <bio>Colin Hartness is the founder Of Web-At-Work Ltd T/A Cheap Domain Names UK specializing in domain packages with 301 redirect options, full POP3 email, Spam filters andamp; Autoresponders fully inclusive with domain registration with no extra monthly fees.
Are you a retailer who is looking to update your current point of sale products, such as your POS cash registers? Or, are you a retailer who is looking to integrate POS equipment into your business for the first time? If you are, you may be unsure as to which point of sale products you should purchase. If that is a concern of yours, you will want to continue reading on, as many popular products are outlined below for your convenience.

One of the many point of sale products that you will want to take the time to examine are known as complete POS cash register systems. Complete cash register systems are essentially packages. In those packages, you receive just about all that you need to run a successful business, namely a business that sells a product. Many complete POS cash register systems come equipped with cash drawers, cash register computer screens, handheld barcode scanners, countertop barcode scanners, credit card readers, age verification machines, and so forth.

One of the many benefits to purchasing your point of sale products in the form of a complete POS cash register system is the ease of shopping. If you were to purchase each of your cash register components individually, you could spend hours, days, or even weeks searching for affordable and compatible components. It is also important to mention that you may be able to save yourself a considerable amount of money. Many point of sale suppliers and distributors offer discounts or reduced prices on their complete POS cash registers systems. This is why they have rapidly increased in popularity among retailers, such as yourself.

As nice and as convenient as complete POS cash register systems are, you may not be in need of all of the above mentioned cash register components. If that is the case, it may be a wise business decision for you to purchase your needed POS components individually. Should you decide to do so, you may want to examine cash register drawers, cash register computer screens, cash register keyboards, barcode scanners, and handled scanners. These are the point of sale products that most retailers, possibly just like you, rely on. Should you decide to purchase your products individually and independently, it is important that you examine all pieces and their compatibility with each other.

In addition to the above mentioned point of sale products, you may also want to examine inventory collection devices. Inventory collection devices are handheld devices that are able to work in conjunction with most POS cash register systems. They are ideal for keeping an accurate count of your on hand inventory. Inventory collection devices enable you to regularly perform on hand counts of your in stock inventory. This is what enables you to account for theft, as well as cashier error. An accurate inventory count can improve your profits, as it enables you to keep your stores fully stocked, but not overfilled.

In addition to examining the above mentioned point of sale products, it is also advised that you examine both new and certified pre owned equipment pieces. You will find that many reputable suppliers and distributors often have a large selection of each available for sale. Although it is nice owning new products, such as a new complete POS cash register system, it is important to know that there are a number of benefits to going with certified pre owned. Certified pre owned products often undergo rigorous reconditioning processes. These processes should leave each point of sale product looking and operating like it is brand new. The amazing thing is that certified pre owned POS products are sold for a fraction of the cost, when compared to new products.

If you are unsure as to which POS products you should purchase or in which condition they should come in, you will want to search for point of sale suppliers or distributors that offer a large selection of these much needed products. The ability to examine complete POS cash register systems, as well as individually sold components and those in both new and certified pre owned conditions, enables you to make the decision that is best for you and your business. <bio>VisionPOS.com is the leading supplier in point of sale products. Their selection includes new and certified pre owned barcode scanners, http://www.VisionPOS.com cash register systems, and much more. </bio>

I didn't believe this either, but... I've gotten a number of letters from companies who say they will "only" charge $1,000 to register our domain name! Unfortunately, some innocent people have accepted this ridiculous offer.

Clearly, this is a complete rip-off. And we've received even more offers to register domain names for "just" $300!

OK. So what should it cost to register a domain name? The short answer is that it should cost you between $15 and $75 (plus a fee to InterNIC - see below). Anything more is a rip-off.

Here's why: There are two types of fees to register a domain name:

A fee to InterNIC (Internet Network Information Center -- the group in charge of assigning domain names) and

A fee to the company doing the domain name registration for you.

1. InterNIC is in charge of registering domain names. Until September of this year (1995), there was no charge from InterNIC to register domain names. Therefore, if you knew how to fill out the appropriate form and submit it to InterNIC, you could register a domain name for free.

Prior to the registration fees from InterNIC, some people registered huge numbers of domain names. For example, there were individuals who tried to register the names of as many major corporations as they could, so they could later sell these domain names to these companies (when the companies realized that "their" domain names were not available).

On September 14, 1995, InterNIC announced that the fee for all new domain name registrations would be $100, which would include two years of registration. So, all new domain name registrations now cost a minimum of $100, the fee to InterNIC. (Update: The fee for Web Addresses registered on or after April 1, 1998, is US$70.00. New registrations are in effect for a two-year period.)

The fee for annual renewals (for both new and existing domains) is $50. Therefore, all domain names that were registered prior to September 14, 1995 (when the $100 registration fee was initiated) will owe an annual renewal fee of $50 on the anniversary of their initial registration. (Update: All domain names re-registered on or after April 1, 1998, are assessed a US$35.00 re-registration fee.)

On the Web: For more information, the Web address for InterNIC Registration Services is http://rs.internic.net/rs-internic.html. (Update: Network Solutions now handles the registration services: http://www.networksolutions.com/ )

2. Many people hire their ISP (Internet Service Provider) or a consultant to register their domain names for them.

The process of registering a domain name almost always involves these five steps:

Selecting a domain name to register Finding out if this domain name is currently available Selecting an ISP who will host the domain Filling out the appropriate form to request the domain name (done by you or the ISP) Submitting this form to InterNIC (done by the ISP). A Useful Tip: It is now possible to use the Web to find out whether or not the domain name you'd like to register is available using WhoIs. This is a LOT more convenient than alternative ways to find out whether or not a domain name is available. But remember, the name may be assigned to someone else between when your application is submitted and when it is reviewed by InterNIC.

On the Web: Look at example information along with the instructions that are included as part of the Domain Name Registration Agreement to request a new domain name. Filling out and submitting the form is not difficult (however, it does require knowing what you're doing).

A reasonable fee to pay to have your ISP (or a consultant) fill out and submit this form for you is between $15 and $75. Our ISP charges us $30 and does an excellent job. Paying much more for this is unnecessary.

This means that you will pay a total of $115 to $175 (including the $100 to InterNIC) to register your domain name. (at the time of original publication)

Note: This scam is about consultants who charge $2000 for ONLY registering a domain name. If your ISP starts talking about fees of $2000, they are probably giving you more domain services than you need. (The service most of you will want from your ISP is sometimes called a "domain alias," and can be implemented for the prices we mentioned.)

Tip: Don't worry if you're not the technical or administrative contact (Questions 4 and 5 on the form) -- that's OK. Just be sure that Questions 3a to 3f are filled in with your company's name and info. That way, you'll own the domain name, not your ISP or consultant. <bio>Douglas Miller is a retired fire service captain, now making a living working from home.
SAT registration is not difficult, but it has to be done on time and correctly, or certain fees may apply. The process is simpler in the past, and most SAT registration can be done via mail or on the web. If you register online, you can choose the date the test center that suits you best, just as with registration through the mail. If you decide to register for the SAT online, you must pay by credit card.

The advantage of online SAT registration is that you can get your score immediately on the internet without having to experience the agonizing wait for your scores to come through snail mails. The online option will also allow you to send your scored directly to colleges and universities, and you can be entered on the mailing lists of certain institutions. Some restrictions apply to online SAT registration.

If you have to take a Sunday test for religious reasons, you must register by mail for the first test you take. Also, those who are taking the SAT but are under the age of 13 must register by mail. You cannot pay by money order or check online, so if you must pay through these means, you should register by mail.

The SAT registration process is simple. You will have to fill out a form which asks you some information about yourself, such as your name and where you live. You may also be asked about what areas interest you or what occupation you may want to pursue. SAT registration takes only a few minutes and is the least difficult part of the test.

Once you are registered at a certain test site for a specific day, your name will appear on a list. You must present your ID at the door, and your name will be checked off. Certain rules apply when taking the test and proctors are quite strict and may take the test away if rules are broken. SAT registration should be taken with a serious attitude, and the test taker should commit to the rules governing the test.

Late SAT registration can pose problems both for the test taker and for those administering the test. There is a due date for SAT registration at every test, and a "late" date, which is still within the acceptable deadline. All mail registration from the US must be postmarked by the late date to avoid a late charge, and international registration must arrive by the late date.

If the later date is passed, a penalty fee usually applies, and if the person taking the test still requires a certain day, the test location may not be guaranteed, and he or she will probably have to commute to the test. Therefore, SAT registration should be done as early as possible to avoid headaches which are caused by late registration.

There have been some cases of students who have been caught red-handed in SAT registration fraud. In one case, an older brother posed as his younger brother and showed up to the test with a tampered driver's license. Those who are in charge of admission to the test know every trick in the book, and can usually spot those who are committing test fraud.

The penalties for false SAT registration are harsh, and can mean that you may never be accepted to the school of your choice, or even a blacklisting. Such "swaps" are not worth the attempts, and it is much better to risk a lower score than to try to have someone register as you or for you to impersonate someone else. <bio>June Mala © 2006 NoYu Online News </bio>
