Many people work with computers regularly. Remaining in the same position for a prolonged period of time will cause stiffness within the muscles especially among older adults. Everyone is different; there is no correct posture that will fit everyone. To understand the appropriate way to set up a computer workstation, it's important to understand the concept of 'neutral body positioning'.

Neutral body positioning is a more comfortable working posture in which a persons muscle joints are naturally aligned. Positioning ones body in a neutral position reduces strain in the muscles and skeletal system. This will reduce a person's risk of developing a musculoskeletal disorder (MSD). The following are important things to remember when maintaining a neutral body posture when you are busy at work in your computer workstation:

- A person's hands, wrists, and forearms should remain in a straight position parallel to the floor.

- The head should remain level, or slightly bent and tilted forward. This should be in-line with the torso.

- The shoulders should be relaxed and the upper arms should hang naturally at the side of the body.

- The elbows should stay close to the body and slightly bent between 90-120 degrees.

- A persons feet should be completely supported by floor or footrest.

- A persons back must be supported with an appropriate lumbar support while sitting vertical or leaning back.

- The hips and thighs should be supported by a padded seat cover and parallel to the floor.

Apart from how well your working posture is, working or sitting still for a prolonged period of time is not healthy. It is recommended that a person change their working position often throughout the course of their day in the following ways:

Make random adjustments to your back rest or chair.

Slightly stretch your torso, hands, fingers and arms.

Try to avoid sitting for a prolonged time and stand up or walk around for a couple of minutes throughout the course of the day..

These mini-exercise techniques are examples of changes in body posture that provide neutral positioning for the body. Using proper ergonomic routines throughout the day will not only help you feel healthier, it will help you be more productive in whatever you do throughout the course of the day. Whether you are at home working on a hobby, studying or at work, using ergonomics is a healthy choice.
Chronic stress is vulnerable to the brain and could result in severe lack of focus. Hence the tendency of patients of chronic stress becoming less and less efficient and even susceptible to accident while on the job. Chronic stress on children has been proven to deter their ability to retain things in their memory.

Apart from the fact that aged people easily loose their memory, memory loss can occur in patient with chronic stress. Studies have proven this that those who, in a certain research process, were given cortisone pills, which is a major stress hormone, had problems with their memory. Prolonged stress often results in severe cases by loss of memory. This is because a prolonged chronic stress condition which exposes the patient to cortisone for a long period, can cause emaciation on the center of memory referred to as the hippocampus. Common occurrence of this condition is in those experiencing post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), such as a traumatic events or sex assault.

Increased cortisone level in the body is highly responsible for memory lost. A research conducted, shows that aged people have higher cortisone levels hence the memory loss in them. Situation of memory loss can be changed if only cortisone levels can be reduced to the required levels, because cortisone is a vital hormone in the human system.

Stress, according to researchers can also be reduced if one has enough social and family support. There are, according to studies, high levels of cortisone found in aged people who have less family and social support. Hence they are prone to occurrence of memory loss. Stress could actually be reduced to minimal if a patient can get support in time of serious needs.

Each time you try to remember vital issue or try to recall what you just stored in your brain or an event that transpired during the day without success, then you should know you are stressed up and will need to undergo a program and various forms of counseling that will enable you reduce stress and restore your memory's ability to retain and recall happenings and events as often as you wish. <bio>The Author, Salihu Ibrahim has written many articles on health matters.
Love music? Enjoy going to gigs? Like clubbing? A survey by the Royal National Institute for the Deaf discovered that 73% of people who have ever been to a club, gig, concert or festival have had ringing in their ears after a night out. This is a warning sign that you've been working your ears too hard, and over time it could cause some lasting damage to your hearing.

So what happens to the ear when we go to a gig or clubbing? We hear music as sound waves or vibrations, which are funneled from the outer ear down the ear canal and cause the eardrum to vibrate. On the other side of the drum membrane the three small bones of the middle ear transmit those sound vibrations to the inner ear, where the tiny hairs of the cochlea, a snail shaped organ, transmits those vibrations to the brain via the auditory nerve. Loud noise vibrations can damage the delicate hairs of the cochlea, rather like a strong wind bending over a sapling, and you lose some of your hearing, though it can recover if you get out of the noisy environment reasonably quickly.

Eventually, over a long period of time, hair cells are permanently damaged and cannot recover. Any kind of loud music can cause temporary and eventually permanent hearing loss, and the music doesn't have to be so loud that it hurts. If you can't talk to people about two metres away without shouting, then your hearing is in serious danger.

Experts say that prolonged exposure to anything about 85 decibels can cause damage. The average nightclub pumps out 110 decibels, which can damage hearing after 30 minutes. A rock concert hits 110 to 130 decibels, which can damage hearing from just over three minutes to 30 minutes. Prolonged exposure to these levels over time means you'll be unable to hear high frequencies, music will sound muffled and you'll find it hard to hear sibilant sounds in speech clearly.

So what are your choices? Well it means you can only go to a gig or club for 15 minutes -- not a popular suggestion. Alternatively, you can protect your ears with one of the many discreet and effective music-safe earplugs that are on the market that can reduce noise levels by between 20 and 27 decibels. These earplugs are specially designed for loud music and will mean you can enjoy nightclubs and concerts without paying for it the next day, or indeed later in life.

Music professionals such as DJ's, musicians and others who work in close proximity to amplifiers and other sound equipment need to protect their ears. Pete Townshend of The Who is perhaps one of the most famous cases of a musician who has lost his hearing due to prolonged exposure to excessive noise levels. A Who concert in 1976 was listed in the Guinness Book of Records for having a volume level of 126 decibels 32 metres from the stage!

Special musician's earplugs can lower the volume of the music without distorting the sound, and play a huge factor in preventing tinnitus in later years. Specially designed earplugs can make it safer for those involved in the music business to do their job and ensure that both the musician's, DJ's and their fans will be able rock well into their pension years.<bio>Visit the Ear Plug Shop for music safe earplugs.</bio>

One of the first things you should know when getting a tattoo is how to take care of a new tattoo. Lucky for me I had a really good tattoo artist doing my tattoos if not I probably would have messed things up quite a bit and that would have been an unpleasant experience.

On one of my first pieces I used way too much ointment and drew a lot of the ink out of the new tattoo. I had to go in for some touch up work and go through the pain, again.

Any reliable tattoo shop and their artists will give you instructions on tattoo after care. Be sure you follow them properly. You really would not want to go through all that pain and then have something go wrong. Most artists will do touch up work for you, but it is certainly unnecessary pain.

Here are some tips and steps for how to care for a new tattoo

Keep the bandage over the new tattoo for several hours. After that remove the bandage covering the tattoo and do not re-bandage it. This allows the air to dry it and start the healing process.

Wash the new tattoo gently with an antibacterial soap. Do not scrub or use too much pressure. Make sure to rinse the area of any blood, bodily fluids, and soap. Do this every couple hours until the oozing stops.

After washing your new tattoo, apply a healing ointment to the area. Vitamin D ointment is highly recommended. Just don't put too much. You'll want to do this several times a day.

In addition to the ointment, or after several days of using just the ointment, begin moisturizing the tattooed area several times a day. Make sure to use an unscented and alcohol free moisturizer. This will help with the itching as the tattoo heals.

Avoid long baths, hot tubs, pools or any other prolonged exposure to water. Showers are fine, but again do not scrub the area vigorously or keep it soaking in water. If the tattoo is on your hand or wrist, avoid washing dishes for a prolonged period (lucky you!)

Avoid the sun. The sun can always do damage to your new tattoo, but especially so when your new tattoo is still healing. You do not want to dry out the healing tattoo area and definitely don't want to get a sunburn. Always make sure to use a generous amount of sun block on your tattoo or your tattoo will fade.

Never pick or scratch the tattooed area, even (and especially) if it scabs up or some skin peels away. Allow the tattoo to fully heal on its own.

In general, use common sense when taking care of your new tattoo. Treat your tattoo like you would most other open wounds on your body. Wash it, moisturize it, keep it clean and avoid exposure to water and sunlight. Follow the above tips and you and your tattoo will end up well preserved, perfectly healed and you will be perfectly healthy.<bio>Omar Reyes is a tattoo enthusiast who loves to write about tattoos and tattooing in general.
In recent years alcoholism has become one of the major public health problems of North American society. According to certain estimate, nearly US$170 billion have been expended on treating and rehabilitating the individuals affected by alcoholism. There is a socially defined limit of alcohol consumption, which is rarely crossed by normal people. But those addicted to alcohol have an abnormal craving for alcohol despite suffering from alcohol related disorders or being subject of social ridicule or legal reprimand.

Alcoholism is more like a psychological disorder that is described by two separate terms: alcohol dependence and alcohol abuse. It is a chronic and progressive disease having a predictable course. The causes for alcoholism is often found in one's genes and aggravated by several social and environmental factors.

The common symptoms of alcoholism are:

• A feeling of compulsion for drinking more.

• Lack of mental power to refrain from drinking or limit the consumption.

• Development of a physical dependence on alcohol and occurrences of such symptoms as nausea, unsteadiness, sweating, or nervousness as a result of withdrawal from drinking after a prolonged heavy drinking habit.

• The increase in body's alcohol tolerance level, in which body needs more alcohol to sense the effects of alcohol.

If heavy alcohol consumption continues for an extended period of time without being properly addressed, it may even cause death in the long run. The major organs that get affected by excessive dependence on alcohol are liver, pancreas and kidney, cirrhosis of the liver being the commonest and most infamous consequence of alcoholism. Heart disease in form of dilated cardiomyopathy is also a common effect of alcoholism. The advanced researches have also found connection between various types of cancer and alcoholism.

Not only has the physical health, prolonged alcoholism miserably affect one's mental and emotional health as well as tarnishes social image. Prolonged alcohol dependency leads to brain deterioration that manifests in insomnia, depression and anxiety, which lead some of the patients to commit even suicide. The addicted person often acquires an alcoholic personality which is replete with contradictions like passivity when sober and aggressive when drunk.

In spite of severe social stigma attached to alcoholism, the patients continue in their dependency on alcohol. This severely affects their professional as well as personal lives leading to loss of job or breaking up of the marriage. The alcoholic person is a menace to public life, causing road accidents or storming up unnecessary squabbles. As a whole they lack social respect, nobody seem to trust them and they even find problems to find any decent accommodation. Thus they not only spoil their own life, the entire family has to bear the plight of alcoholism. Especially, the impact on the children of the family is extremely harmful and has a long term psychological effect.

Today the outlook towards the people suffering from alcoholism has changed. The experienced practitioners are more and more emphasizing on the responsibility of the family members who should patiently and sympathetically handle the matter and help the patient to return to the mainstream of life. With adequate support from family and society, even the patients in an advanced stage of alcoholism can come out of the curse of alcohol. <bio>Check out the following sites for more info on alcolism treatments and help. http://alcoholism-advice.info, http://treatment.alcoholism-advice.info and http://symptoms.alcoholism-advice.info </bio>

For years we've all been warned of the dangers of the sun. Positioning ourselves on the beach in search of the perfect tan can reap hazardous results and for those of us with fair skin, the dangers are multiplied. Dermatologists continue to expose the peril of sun exposure -- everything from early aging to skin cancer - and advocate the consistent use of adequate and appropriate sunblock.

But this can be difficult to adhere to for those sun worshippers among us. Let's face it, a tan makes us feel healthier, younger...even thinner! This is a temptation that can be hard to ignore. And, so, in many cases, in lieu of the beach or pool, we will flock to tanning beds. Tanning beds are popular year round -- while peaking in popularity in the winter. And while there are those tanning bed users who understand the harmful effects of tanning beds, there are those who still think that they are cheating the dangers of the sun by choosing a tanning bed instead.

In truth, the harmful effects of tanning beds are just the same as the sun. Consequently, like the sun, tanning beds should be approached cautiously. First and foremost, fair-skinned people should avoid tanning beds -- and the sun -- at all costs. Even if you have darker skin, exposure should be limited. If you find that you just can't stay away, keep exposure time to a minimum and try to visit only periodically. Intense and prolonged exposure -- while increasing dangers -- also has the unsightly ability to make users look a little "too tan."

But more importantly, the harmful effects of tanning beds include the burning and aging of skin; prolonged exposure can even result in skin cancer. Tanning beds give off UV rays that are just as dangerous as the sun. If you find it necessary to visit a tanning bed then offer your skin just a little bit of covering with protective lotions designed for your skin type. Always be sure to protect your eyes, as well, with special glasses. Most tanning salons include eye protection with your visit.

Tanning is a risk that each one of us must decide upon for ourselves. If you must tan, do it responsibly to minimize the harmful effects of tanning beds on your skin. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about tanning beds visit our ezGuide 2 http://tanningbeds.ezguide2.com </bio>

There are other causes of syncope like hypersensitive carotid sinus, which is located in a small, slightly dilated portion of the common carotid artery, at the level of the thyroid cartilage, just below the angle of the jaw, before this blood vessel bifurcates into internal and external carotid arteries. It is present on each side of the neck.

The carotid sinus is very important for controlling the heart rate of a person. In general practice, when a person comes with a very high rate, e.g. in a condition of PAT, when the patient feels marked palpitation, and is in acute distress, the physician may give a mild massage (about five seconds at a time) on the side of the neck, at the level of the upper border of the thyroid cartilage. This stimulates the carotid sinus (involving the cardioinhibitory effect of the vagus nerve), and the heart rate starts decreasing slowly. This method is so effective that if simultaneously the heart rate is not checked, carotid sinus may lower the heart rate to dangerous levels.

Hence, one can imagine the role of the normal carotid sinus in lowering the heart rate with a simple massage, and if the carotid sinus is hypersentitive, a mere jerk/movement of the neck to one side may markedly bring down the normal rate of the heart, leading to the decreased flow of blood to the brain, causing syncope. The same may happen when there is a pressure on the carotid sinus from outside, i.e. from some lesions in the neck such as enlarged glands, etc. Or, this may happen when a person is wearing a very tight collar, etc.

Hence, every case of syncope needs a very thorough check-up for arriving at a definite conclusion, and besides, various investigations for detecting a lesion in the heart, when it is so suspected, tests may also be required to see the hypersensitivity of the carotid sinus, especially when other causes/possibilities are not contributory.

It is true that in spite of a thorough investigation in a well-equipped hospital, the cause of syncope may not be possible to detect. (The author happened to examine an emergency case of syncope in a 73-year old man, who as soon as he stood up from a chair, fell down suddenly. The patient was made to lie down, and when the author reached the spot he was fully conscious. He was then investigated extensively, but no cause of syncope could be determined, and the patient has had no such attack now for the last five years).

As stated earlier, rarely, in some cases, when an attack of syncope is a bit more acute, i.e., when the period of unconsciousness is slightly prolonged, even convulsions may occur. Hence, besides investigations for the heart, an EEG/CT scan, etc., may also be required for the exclusion of epilepsy.

Other causes of syncope

There are some other causes of syncope as well. Even a continuous fit of coughing may cause syncope, as a result of diseases of the lungs, like a severe type of chronic bronchitis. It is often seen in middle-aged persons, due to a low cardiac output (as due to prolonged coughing, there is a low return of blood to the heart, and so the heart output, accordingly, decreases), and hence less blood is supplied to the brain, leading to transitory unconsciousness. The patient recovers as soon as the bout of coughing is over.

Syncope may also occur while passing urine, due to the reflex action of the distended urinary bladder.

It is advisable that one should not immediately stand up while getting up from bed during the night, i.e., after a period of sleep or recumbency, for for any reason, so as to avoid postural hypotension, which may also lead to syncope.

Again, syncope is likely to manifest itself due to the involvement/narrowing of the blood vessels of the brain, caused by atherosclerosis, say, when the involvement of the vertebro-basilar artery responsible for vertebro-basilar insufficiency occurs. Such attacks of syncope are called transient ischaemic attacks (TIA). <bio>Author's Sites: http://www.easyhomeremedy.com , http://shabi-home-remedies.blogspot.com , http://myshabi.blogspot.com </bio>

For most of us, the end of a long day means the chance to relax and unwind with our families, followed by a long and restful sleep. Through sleep, we are able to relinquish our waking life and retreat to a place of peace and tranquility. It's no wonder that sleep is as important to our bodies as air or water. It allows us to physically and mentally rejuvenate ourselves; without it, we are unable to perform even the most simple of tasks.

So for those of us who suffer from insomnia -- a sleep disorder whereby the sufferer is unable to fall asleep or stay asleep -- we are denied the very thing our body needs the most. Short bouts of insomnia can be extremely frustrating but are often short lived -- the result of a stressful period of time or a physical ailment of some sort. But prolonged insomnia can often result in a host of illnesses -- both physical and mental. It can be an enormously stressful cycle.

The causes of insomnia are varied and depend entirely on the sufferer's unique situation. For someone who has infrequently suffered from insomnia but is struggling during a particular period of time, the causes may be environmental. Perhaps there is an exceptionally stressful event taking place at work or financial worry that is keeping you awake. If this is the case, try practicing relaxation techniques prior to bedtime. Meditation, simple yoga moves, stretching, deep breathing, or even a hot bath can help lower your heart rate and relax your muscles -- making you much more susceptible to sleep.

If your insomnia is something that you deal with on an ongoing basis, it may be that dietary factors are to blame. Examine the amount of caffeine you ingest in a given day; if you are in the habit of drinking many cups of coffee throughout the day to keep you going, then it should be no surprise that caffeine may also be keeping you awake at night. Limit your caffeine throughout the day and eliminate it altogether later in the day. Avoid heavy meals prior to the bedtime as well.

You may also be surprised to learn that certain over-the-counter -- and prescription - drugs list insomnia as one of their side effects. So pay close attention to any medications that you take. Speak with your doctor if you are concerned that a particular medication may be causing insomnia.

Simply isolating different factors that may contribute to your insomnia -- and making simple changes accordingly - can put you on the road to a restful night's sleep. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about insomnia visit our ezGuide 2 http://insomnia.ezguide2.com </bio>

Almost every person has suffered from the loss of a loved one due to illnesses, natural causes or accidents. Death due to prolonged illnesses or natural causes is devastating but gives you time to say goodbye to your beloved. On the other hand, unexpected death due to diseases or accidents is much harder to bear since it is all so sudden. Many people who have lost a loved one this way will naturally feel angry and depressed. Some would even be in denial for a long time.

Bereavement is a part the natural process of letting go and moving on. Some go through this stage easily while other need a longer time before they feel that they are emotionally ready. In some cases, you may have accepted the death of a loved one but have difficulties establishing new relationships for fear of losing that person again. Some would say that you have not yet completed the bereavement stage if you refuse to move on and lead a normal life.

If this fear of loss has taken control of your life, rendering you unable to make new friends, then you may have a more serious mental problem. You could end up alienating the other people in your life and also getting depressed. Before the depression becomes bad and add to your problems of dealing with the loss, you should make a conscious decision to seek professional health.

You would be surprised that there are some cases when the prolonged sadness or depression is a result of a chemical imbalance in your brain. These imbalances can be corrected by taking medication prescribed by your doctor or psychiatrist. After correcting the imbalances, you will still have to undergo some counseling to help you with your bereavement. Your psychiatrist will help you manage your fears and other issues so you can complete the grieving process.

Today, there is also hypnotherapy, which is known to be quite effective in treating anxiety and depression-related disorders. A hypnotist will try to manage your depression and sadness by altering particular behavior via hypnotism. Since the treatment lasts several sessions only, with each session taking as short as two hours, your depression can be treated quicker.

In addition, there will be no prescription medication involved, which has been known to make patients drug-dependent. Hypnotherapy is also considered to be one of the most effective and safest way of treating phobias, addictions and other fears. <bio>Copying with loss is something we all eventually need to learn to do.
Once you find a stain you are left with the often less than pleasant task of deciding what to do next. The good news is that there are many carpet cleaning services that are available to the consumers of today. This is also the bad news too. With so many options, how do you choose exactly which service will best serve your carpet cleaning needs?

Shampooing

Some carpet cleaning services offer basic shampooing packages. This is where they come in and apply a chemical cleaning solution to your floor and then scrub the floor clean with a special floor cleaning machine or carpet shampooing machine which removes the solution and moisture from your carpet. This generally leaves your carpet looking nice and clean. This is a great temporary fix for carpet problems they do however tend to come back in time. You should take caution with this type of service to at least find out which chemicals they are using and any potential damage they may have to the fibers of your carpet.

Dry Cleaning Your Carpet

Carpet cleaning services that offer dry cleaning are certainly becoming popular alternatives. The serviceman will spread a powdery substance over your floors then use his carpet cleaning machine to work it through and then suck it out, along with any dirt or stains. Foam is another form of almost dry carpet cleaning where the carpet is shampooed with foam only, then vacuumed on drying. It is a common school of thought that carpet cleaning services who use wet, shampooing techniques actually damage the carpet over time, encouraging rotting and decay of underlay and contributing to future mold growth.

The Bonnet Method For Carpet Cleaning

Most businesses and large industries choose a carpet cleaning service that offers the Bonnet method. The Bonnet method uses steam from highly heated water with specialized detergent to more thoroughly and deeply clean the carpet, followed by sucking up the moisture and product, as well as any dirt. The heat of the steam makes stains and grime dissolve more easily, and it also has a great sanitizing effect as well.

The intention when choosing a carpet cleaning service provider is to ensure the life of the carpet is prolonged as much as possible. Always ask what type of cleaning is being offered, and only go with a method that you have confidence in and trust for use on your carpet. The cheapest method is usually the nastiest, and even though the floors might look fantastic immediately afterwards, prolonged application of some products and machines that use water can cause real damage to the carpet you treasure in your home. <bio>For more information on carpet cleaning, visit us at http://www.carpetcleaningcare.com. </bio>

Mortgage payment protection insurance (or MPPI) is an insurance product that can help you keep up with your monthly mortgage repayments in the event that you lose your income due to involuntary redundancy; recovery from an accident; or prolonged illness. This means that at an already stressful time, you will not have to worry how to keep your home safe from repossession.

You may think that you will never need to use this type of insurance policy, but anyone of us is vulnerable to redundancy, especially in an uncertain economic climate. And having an accident or being hospitalised due to illness, with a long recovery period afterwards, is something that can happen to anyone. You simply cannot put a price on the peace of mind that a mortgage payment protection insurance policy could give you.

So, how does the cover work?

Well, the mortgage protection insurance will start to pay out a tax free monthly sum anywhere from thirty to ninety days after you are made redundant or become incapacitated. The waiting period depends on the individual policy terms and conditions so do check this when looking for your cover.

The sum you receive can go towards maintaining your monthly mortgage commitment as well as associated costs such as home, life and critical illness insurance, up to the provider's pre-agreed payment limits of course.

Back to day one benefits

Some providers will also back date your claim to the first day of your illness or unemployment -- this is often known as 'back to day one' cover -- so, again, check out the policy features and benefits to see if your policy affords you this.

Protection for up to 24 months

Once the benefits have started to pay out, these will run until you get back to work, or for anything up to 12-24 months - whatever happens sooner. Some mortgage payment protection insurance providers will offer cover that pays out benefits for 12 months while others offer protection for 24 months, so make sure that the policy you choose is one that best suits your requirements.

Where to buy?

Knowing where to buy your cover is probably the most important aspect of getting the right cover for you. Typically you would have been offered your mortgage payment insurance at the time of taking out your mortgage borrowing. However, as numerous studies as shown, this can be an expensive way to buy your cover. Banks and lenders have been known to charge high premiums for the cover in order to make a hefty profit. However, choosing to buy your cover from an independent provider can often see you get a better deal, and a policy that sometimes has additional benefits thrown in that the mainstream cover does not offer, such as the back to day one cover.

Compared to the price of the cover from the traditional sources, standalone providers of mortgage payment protection insurance can often save you around 40% on the cost of the protection, making it an affordable solution for anyone seeking to protect the roof over their head.<bio>Sean Horton is a Director of Enhanced Wealth who offer competitive mortgage insurance cover for mortgage repayment insurance and mortgage payment protection insurance</bio>

Expired domain name is just a common status in the place of domain names. This certain status of the domain name takes place when the domain name holder forgot to renew the registered domain name, and so when a certain domain name is given as "expired domain name", it is understandable that such expired domain name is on the way to deletion from the domain name registry.

So when you receive a note from the domain name registrar that you have an expired domain name and you still want to renew such expired domain name, you should then know the basic process that the domain names go through when they are noted as "expired domain names" and on their way to deletion from the registry.

On the first stage of the domain name prior to becoming an "expired domain name", of course you undergo for a domain name registration. It is often considered that a domain name may only be registered with a maximum of ten year period. Even upon the domain name renewal, the domain name registration period can not extend past a ten year period, so are the domain name registrars have no authority to offer a domain name registration for over ten years. However, it is interesting to know that a top level domain name like the .uk can only be registered for two years at a time.

After that, when a domain name becomes an "expired domain name" or shortly after the domain name goes past its expiration date, the expired domain name will then be deactivated. With the deactivation process, the domain name services involving the web page and the email will no longer function. However, the expired domain name may still be renewed during this period but it will take for 24 to 72 hours before the domain name services will be reactivated.

When the expired domain name reached at the said "domain name grace period" with approximately 40 days after it becomes noted as "expired domain name", the domain name will not be active and may be renewed without paying any additional fees. And after such period for the expired domain name, here comes the next domain name expiration period which is termed as the "domain name redemption period". This is a period for a domain name which involved a 30 day redemption period. In this case, the WHOIS contact information such as the name, address, telephone numbers, and others will be deleted and the domain name will still be inactive. Accordingly, the domain can be renewed during this time by its original holder with $105 plus renewal fees. And since it is a manual process for the registry to add the name, address, and other contact information back to the domain registry records, the process will really take much time.

Finally, after the domain name redemption period of the expired domain name, there comes a final period known as the "domain name deletion period". So five days after the end of the redemption period for the expired domain name, the domain name will be totally deleted from the registry and will then be made available by anyone who wishes to register for a domain name. <bio>Discover What It Really Takes To Succeed And Profit From Your Online Business And Find Out The Little Discussed Facts That People Ignore - Or Choose To Ignore - That Makes You Either An Internet Entrepreneur Or Simply, Plain Broke! http://www.internetentrepreneurship.com You May Reproduce this article as long as an active hyperlink is accompanied. </bio>

If you are someone who pays their credit card balance off in full each month, then you probably don't need to worry about grace periods. However, if you are someone who does not pay off your balance in full each month, then you need to know about the different types of grace periods and how they work. Here is some advice about how to understand grace periods and use them to your advantage.

What is a grace period?

A grace period is the time you will have before you start paying interest on your new credit card purchases. This period is usually between 20 and 25 days, after which you will pay interest on your purchases. If you pay your balance off in full each month, then on most cards you will never pay the interest because you are always clearing your debt in time. However, if you don't pay your balance in full then you need to make sure you get a card with the right grace period for you.

Typical grace periods

Most typical cards have a grace period that means you will pay nothing if you pay the bill each month in full. However, if you don't pay the whole bill then you will pay interest on your balance, including any new purchases that you make. This balance is calculated daily. If you pay your balance off most of the time but not always, then this sort of card will probably be fine for you.

Full grace periods

Although most cards offer a typical grace period, some cards offer a full grace period. This means that you will get the benefit of the 20-25 days without paying interest on new purchases even if you didn't pay your balance in full each month. These cards are generally more expensive but are great for those people who never pay off their balance in full each month.

No grace periods

Beware of cards that carry no grace periods. Although these cards are fine for people usually have a typical grace period card and don't pay their balance off, they can really hurt those who pay their balance off each month. If you pay off your balance in full you will still get charged interest, which means that you aren't getting the benefits you normally would get. If possible, avoid cards with no grace period.

Grace periods a factor

When choosing a card, you should look at the card's grace period as well as its interest and fees. Although other factors such as interest are very important, getting a card with a grace period to match your spending habits will reduce how much the card will cost you in the long-term. If you already have credit cards but are unsure of their grace periods, then check with your card issuer. Knowing the grace periods you currently have could help you to save yourself money by reducing the interest that you pay. <bio>Peter Kenny is a writer for creditcards-gb Please visit us at http://www.thriftyscot.co.uk/Banking-Savings/claim_back_any_unfair_bank_cha= rges.html and http://www.loansubmit.co.uk/ </bio>

You may have just purchased your first oil painting, to add that touch of style to your study, living room, or bedroom. Oil paintings are beautiful additions to the house, and are great conversation pieces as well. They can also be a good investment, but for any of these draws of the oil painting to remain true they must be taken care of in a proper manner. Here are some simple steps in the preservation of the value and appearance of your new oil painting.

Always check the location where you intend to place your piece. Always avoid any area that is prone to extreme heat or cold, or humidity. This includes places like over the fireplace and in a front room that isn't normally heated. Also keep in mind that prolonged sunlight will cause the paint to fade, and choose the location accordingly.

A layer of dust will also spoil the painting, as it will tend to dry the oil colors out and therefore fade the piece. Dust your painting regularly, but remember not to use surface cleaners. A dry and soft cloth will suffice.

When moving the piece from location to location, whether to a different room or a different building, make sure lay a flat piece of cardboard, a mat, or other firm material on both the front and the back of the picture, and then wrap it in Styrofoam or bubble wrap. Remember that moisture build up will damage the piece, so if it must be left wrapped up for a long period of time store it in a dry place.

If your painting is damage despite your best efforts, do not try to retouch or repair it yourself. Instead, bring it to a professional conservator who can do the job properly.

Following these instructions will aid you in keeping your oil painting in top condition, and making sure it will continue to give you enjoyment for years.
Have you worked in the construction industry or forestry? Are you a grounds man, a green keeper or professional gardener? Then your profession could triggered Vibration White Finger (VWF) or Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS). Anyone working with vibrating hand-held tools over a prolonged period, whether it's a lawnmower or a jackhammer, is potentially at risk of this painful debilitating disease.

Vibration White Finger is a secondary form of Raynaud's Disease, where fine blood vessels in areas like the fingertips, toes, ears and nose go into spasm. VWF is where the small blood vessels in the fingertips, often triggered by contact with the cold, go into spasm. The first symptom is a pins and needles sensation and loss of dexterity. The fingertip turns white as the vessels constrict and they may start to ache, as the vessels relax the fingertip becomes a dull red as the blood floods back.

If the circumstances don't change, attacks become more frequent and increasingly painful, affecting more fingers. In severe cases it leads to skin ulcers or gangrene especially when the work is outside in the cold and wet such as in forestry. The disease affects a huge range of occupations where hand-held vibrating machinery is used, from hedge-trimmers and chainsaws to angle grinders and riveters.

French miners first reported the symptoms of Vibration White Finger in the early 19th century after pneumatic tools were introduced. Professor Loriga recorded similar muscular spasms in the hands of Italian miners in 1911. Seven years later Dr Alice Hamilton identified the link between prolonged use of vibrating hand-tools and VWF in quarry cutters and noted that cold weather severely aggravated the condition.

Despite all this evidence it wasn't until 1975 that Dr Pelmear and Dr William Taylor developed the Taylor-Pelmear scale to measure the affliction. In 1980, following a research paper by Professor Mike Griffin of Southampton University, VWF became a prescribed industrial disease and the Health and Safety Executive started to examine measures to reduce the incidence of the disease.

By the early 1990's the difference between VWF, a mainly vascular complaint, and HAVS, which affects both blood vessels and nerves of the hand, wrist and arm, was defined. With all this medical evidence to draw on British Coal was taken to court by seven mine workers severely affected by the disease as a result of prolonged use of chainsaws and drills, the High Court awarded them £127,000. Subsequently the government set up a fund to settle any similar claims and because VWF is a recognized disease, workers affected may be eligible for Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit.

In 2002 the European Union passed a Directive governing the minimum health and safety requirements for workers exposed to vibrations. Exposure to vibrating machinery is measured as 'trigger time', the amount of time a finger is actually on the 'on button'. The design of the tool, its age and condition and the way it's used can vary these measurements enormously. The HSE published a list of tools and their vibration levels with a graph showing the safe limits of a workers daily trigger time.

If you have a history of working with vibrating hand-held tools and think you may suffer from VWF or HAVS, then get it diagnosed. Help yourself by keeping your hands as warm as possible to stop the arteries going into spasm. Some medicines may also help. If you smoke, quit, as this will improve your circulation. Finally stop or reduce the time you use the tools that may be causing the problem. Check what your 'trigger time' should be and ensure the equipment is in good order and used correctly, possibly update to a model that vibrates less. If the disease means you can no longer work or it's severely restricting your livelihood then explore pursuing a compensation claim.

For further information, please visit http://www.1stclaims.co.uk<bio>We deal in a range of claims, including personal injury claims and compensation.
Pregnancy is a very crucial time period in the life of a woman. It is a joyous period but at the same time it can become a source of worry and uncertainty. Several changes occur in the body of a woman during pregnancy. Most of these changes have a direct or indirect effect on the spinal cord of the woman, which can later turn in to mild or severe back pain.

Both lumbar and posterior pelvic pain can occur in a woman after pregnancy. Many people believe back pain is a normal phenomenon during and after pregnancy. Wherein it is not. There are certain factors that cause pain in the back of a woman after delivering the baby. They are:

Weight gain: A woman can gain as much as a quarter of weight in her body during pregnancy. This kind of tremendous weight gain stresses the back of the expecting mother.

Change in the center of gravity: The weight that you have gained during pregnancy is carried in the front and the back portion of your trunk. This development leads to the change in the center of gravity in a pregnant woman.

Imbalance in the muscle: With the change in the center of gravity, there also occurs a muscular imbalance in the body. This imbalance in the body creates strain, especially on the back.

Fatigued Muscles: During pregnancy the muscles tend to fatigue soon. This results in poor postures of the body.

Hormonal surges: The hormones produced during pregnancy can create laxity in the pelvis. This hormone surge coupled with a change in the center of gravity gives rise to a decreased joint support.

Apart from these there are several other activities that can increase your back pain at the time of pregnancy. These activities create a pressure or load on the spine with the pelvis and hips. Some of these activities are walking, running, rolling on the bed, twisting, lifting heavy objects, bending forward and climbing stairs.

So to do away with your back pain problem, you need to follow a conservative management program. This conservative management effort should include appropriate exercises and the use of proper medications. All these efforts will promote and support your proper posture.

Apart from this, it is also important for you to pay regular visits to your physical therapist in case of prolonged and severe pain.

Always remember, back pain is common place during pregnancy but it should not be taken as a necessary part of it. Try to make your pregnancy as pleasant as possible. This will facilitate in easier delivery of the baby. So address your back pain as quickly as possible. <bio>The author writes about a number of different topics.
Before you start a home business, you need to really stop and assess your capabilities. Be aware that when you engage in business your investment is always at stake. Don't gamble with your money - plan it out the smart way.

1. Day Trading

As of today, there are thousands of people who are doing quite well for themselves using day trading. Using profit making techniques, day traders buy and sell stocks. It's not that simple, of course, because you have to buy as well as sell at the same time.

2. The More You Know

Even if you don't have a background in trading, almost everyone can understand the basics. Buy low, sell high, follow trends, and protect your investments. More advanced traders will have full knowledge of the history of exchanges for that given stock and choose from one of six proven strategies.

3. Trend Following

In a nutshell, day traders assume that if a particular stock is steadily rising it will continue to rise, and likewise, if a stock is falling it will continue to fall. This can be measured over a prolonged period of time. Thus, traders will purchase rising stocks and avoid falling ones.

4. Pay Attention To The News

The news has a very profound impact on stock trading. If a particular company has sent out a press release that they have invented a new technology or have acquired another company, its shares may surge.

5. Scalping

This is also called spread trading. Usually complated in 12 hours or less, small quantities of a given stock are purchased then the original buyer turns around and sells his shares for a minisculely higher amount than they were purchased for. Not anything to cry home about, but still a good, quick trade.

6. Covering Spread

This is a kind of leapfrogging of stocks. You buy stocks at the minimum bidding price and sell stocks at the so called asking price. At the end of the day, you will have the same amount of stocks, except that you will have stocks in a higher rated company. <bio>For more great day trading related articles and resources check out http://tradingportal.info </bio>

Dark blemishes that commonly appear on the back of the hands, forearms, neck, chest and face are known as age spots. These arise from excessive exposure from the sun, hereditary causes, or bad care for your skin. They can also be described as sun spots, liver spots, lentigos or lentigines. These generally appear as flat, tan, brown or dark brown spots. If you or anyone you know has a spot that have this description, see a physician immediately to determine if they might be cancerous and if there is an effective treatment available to decrease and diminish the appearance of the spots.

It is sometimes difficult to understand what may cause age spots from appearing on your skin. As you get older, your skin tone and youthfulness decreases, allowing for blemishes to increasingly appear in unwanted places, generally those of which have been exposed to the sun for a prolonged amount of time. Age spots are much more common in those who have freckles and burn easily. It is very crucial for you to know if you have had enough sun, to develop spots, and to constantly use sunscreen to thwart the condition from ever occurring on your skin.

Age spots generally vary in size, from a small pea to a dime, and are very flat in nature. Since they appear after prolonged sun exposure, the areas include; the shoulders, face, forearms, upper back and the back of hands. If you notice any sort of blemish, dark in nature that has the shape and look of an age or sun spot, it is important to seek immediate care. Although they do not call for any sort of cancer, having them are a sign of the type of skin that would be able to become cancerous. Many people do not even realize any blemish on their skin that might easily be recognizable as cancerous. Our daily lives can be so busy that caring for your skin often is thought of secondhand. It is very crucial to always be aware of the symptoms and signs, although minor, that can lead to something much more serious.

In order to best treat age spots, prevention is the method to go by. Avoiding the sun altogether is recommended or at least using sunscreen whenever you are outside. As an example, you will never find age spots in places of your body that are not exposed to the sun. For most of those who are older, it is much too late to prevent age spots from appearing on your skin. Thankfully there are several effective and safe treatment options available that will improve the appearance and allow you to feel comfortable in your own skin. That is something that we all want and need to feel secure and healthy.

Some treatments available are bleaching creams, chemical peels and laser resurfacing. Please consult with your physician before administering any of these procedures. Every person is different with different skin, some of which may respond ineffectively to these treatments. <bio>http://www.DermaNetwork.org is a leading provider of age spot information and resources.
<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/nightmares" rel="tag">Nightmares are the type of dream everyone fears and wants to avoid. By their nature, these dreams are fearful, but often they need to be faced. The mind may be presenting them to us in such a dramatic manner because we have ignored a message for a prolonged period of time and it's resorting to more drastic means to get our attention.

The truth is, many nightmares are actually gifts that we should be thankful for because they are trying to help us.

Avoidance is the wrong response. The strong emotions evoked by these intense dreams are cries for help, and like a baby crying in the night for attention ... they will not be denied. The longer you ignore them, the louder they will get! Therefore ignoring nightmares is not only the wrong response, it's impractical in that it will make them worse.

Sometimes the subconscious mind will work with your nightmares to bring resolutions without you being consciously aware of the entire process. But when nightmares become recurring, then it's a sign that your conscious attention is being sought.

It's more common to wake up in the middle of a nightmare than during a regular dream. It's also more common to remember a nightmare. This is, again, by design as a way of trying to get your attention.

The best way to get rid of a recurring nightmare is to deal with it -- that is to deal with the issue it's presenting. It will take some courage, but here are some tips on how to do it:

Rather than turning and shooting a monster or "bad guy" that is chasing you, it's better to turn and ask the aggressor how you can help it. Use such questions as "What is it you want to tell me," or "How can I help you help me?"

Come up with solutions by asking other "cast members" in the dream what resolution they would like to see.

Bring your Spiritual Guide into the dream and ask for his/her suggestions.

Nightmares may also be caused by trauma, psychiatric problems or drugs (both legal and illegal). In such cases the care of a health care professional should be sought immediately. <bio>Dr. Barry Burns received his doctorate from the American Institute of Hypnotherapy. He studied Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Hypnosis and Dreams. Dr. Burns founded Wellspring Hypnotherapy, conducts seminars nationwide and is author of "Wide Awake," a book on dreams.
