An old fashioned material for roofs that has been around for a long time is gaining in modern popularity. Many people are realizing the benefits and advantages of metal roofs. Harsh weather in certain areas, and the new variety in types of metal roofs have led to this new popularity.

Metal roofs are much more durable than asphalt shingles and other types of roofing materials. They hold up better against heavy rain and snow, hail, heat and even hurricane force winds. Another benefit is its fire resistant quality. A home is much better protected from both natural and man made disasters when it has a metal roof.

Environmental factors are also leading to new found popularity of metal roofs. Metal roofs reflect the heat of the sun better than traditional materials, keeping your house cooler in summer and warmer in winter. Energy costs can be as much as 20% lower with metal roofs because of this thermal reflectivity.

Most metal roofs have a system that interlocks the sheets on all four sides, instead of just overlaying like shingles or tiles. This makes metal roofs much stronger and more durable.

The paint and other coatings used on modern metal roofs is also a different kind. The coatings are metallic and polymer, making the roofs corrosion resistant. The polymer coatings will look faded due to exposure, but a good rinse with water will restore their looks. Because of these new materials, modern metal roofs require little to no maintenance.

In addition to weather and fire resistance, energy efficiency and durability are compelling reasons for choosing a metal roof. The energy saving qualities of metal roofs have made them very much in demand and have therefore increased the resale value of the homes that have them. With energy costs soaring, people recognize this as a very valuable quality. IN addition, metal roofs last 40 to 50 years, unlike shingles or tiles, which traditionally last about 25 years.

The modern versions of the metal roof have a much larger variety of styles and colors than other roofing materials. Since they are painted, the choice of colors is almost limitless, limited only by your imagination. The polymer paints used allow an infinite variety of color to make your home unique.

In addition to these advantages, metal roofs are easier to install than shingles or tiles. It can be placed directly over the old roof, keeping costs down by avoiding the demolition and cart away costs of tearing off of the old roof.

It is no wonder that metal roofs are becoming more popular. Low maintenance, incredibly long lasting, energy efficient, attractive and available in many styles and colors are qualities that are ideal in a roof. <bio>Focusing on informating about plastering drywall, Eric Slarkowski writes articles first and foremost for http://www.insidewoodworking.com .
Many people are going for metal roofs, as new materials for roofing are available. It has been seen that the metal roofs are having more advantages than any other kind of roofs so these roofs are having more popularity. Metal roofing is more popular due to the make as well as the weather differences.

Metal roofing is becoming more and more popular in the houses as in comparison to the asphalt shingles or the other kinds of tiles and shingles these are more durable. The metal roofs can withstand tough weather that includes hurricane force winds, heavy snow, wind-driven rains, extreme heat and hail. Many people choose metal roofs as it can also withstand fire that can occur due to man-made fire or due to the heat of the sun.

To make it more durable metal roofs have various kinds of layer of paint and also other kinds of resistant stuff. Polymer as well as metallic coating is one such coating layer. In comparison to other metals it makes them extra corrosion resistant. While they are painted, they also use high-performance polymers. The color will start fading due to the airborne contamination after sometime but due to the polymer's usage you have to spray down the roof using a garden hose so that it looks new again.

Metal roofing adds value to each home; this is one more reason that people are moving towards it. Metal roofs are expected to continue for forty-fifty years and normally it has a warranty that is also expected to last such long. In addition to the value of the house it is also expected that metal roof does not need to be replaced in a lifetime.

In comparison to other kinds of roofing metal roofs are known to have extra varieties of colors and styles and so many people are using it. To enhance the accents on your home they may come in different shades as they are painted along with the polymer coatings. Metal roof compared to any other kinds of roofing have more styles and it also adds to the value of your house as well as to the uniqueness.

While installing metal roofing one can notice that this one is easier than putting on any other kind of stuff. Placing the roof on your home is also easier due to the style along with the tiles of the metal roofing.

Due to various reasons metal roofing is becoming so popular. It is not only that the metal roofing is extra weather resistant rather than other houses but is undoubtedly a low-maintenance kind of roofing that lasts longer and also adds color as well as style to your home, which otherwise would not have been available. Many people are changing their home tiles to metal due to such advantages of metal roofing. <bio>Concentrating on the area of plastering drywall, Vince Paxton publishes principally for http://www.insidewoodworking.com . Coated lense binoculars help prevent the loss of light with one or more of the surfaces being coated with one or more layers of anti-reflective coating. Never buy binoculars with uncoated lenses, the lack of coating means that around 50% of light could be lost making non coated lense binoculars half as bright as their coated counterparts.

Coated lense binoculars used to come with a hefty price tag but now most binoculars come with coated lenses in one form or another and top quality fully multi-coated lense binoculars are often within the price range of many users.

The greater the number of coatings and the more surfaces that are coated the less light is lost so if you are looking for the best binoculars you want fully multi-coated lenses.

There are basically four grades of coated lense binoculars although some manufacturers have developed their own, exclusive, high quality coatings which offer greater durability and further improved light transmission with other added advantages:

• Coated lense binoculars means that one or more surfaces are coated with one layer of anti-reflective coating. If only one or a limited number of air to glass surfaces are coated such binoculars will provide you little more light transmission than un-coated lense binoculars.

• Fully coated lense binoculars means that air to glass surfaces are coated with one layer of anti-reflective coating.

• Multi coated lense binoculars means that one or more air to glass surfaces are coated with multiple layers of anti-reflective coating. Like coated lense binoculars you have to be careful here as just one surface could be coated!

• Fully multi coated lense binoculars are the best that you can buy. All air to glass surfaces are coated in multiple layers of anti reflective coating.

Fully coated lense binoculars can increase light transmission from 50% to around 80 -- 85% which is now the norm for low cost binoculars. If you want something a bit more special that will increase light transmission to 95% or above then you want to go for fully multi coated lense binoculars and, for extra durability and advance quality viewing, take a look at the exclusive coatings offered by some of the top manufacturers. Bushnell Elite binoculars come with Bushnell's exclusive XTR technology (60 layers of coatings on each prism) which delivers 99.73% light transmission per lense.

The difference between fully coated lense binoculars and fully multi coated might not sound that great but once you have owned binoculars with the best quality optics and coatings you'll never look back. The light transmission, resolution and clarity of top quality binoculars is amazing and the enhanced viewing generally makes the higher price tag well worth it.

A few fully multi coated lense binoculars are Bushnell Elite, Bushnell Legend Binoculars, Bushnell Natureview, Pentax DCF SP / XP and HR II, Pentax PCF Binoculars, Nikon HG L DCF Binoculars and Olympus EXPS I Series Binoculars.<bio>For the best binoculars (UK) visit pro-binoculars.com</bio>

Contact lenses have undergone various innovations to suit vision correction as well as fashion needs. They are demanded to serve specific nature of eyes. The lenses meant for watery eyes are different from one the ones used by people with dry eyes.

Herein, in this article I would throw light on lenses that have been introduced for dry eyes. These dry eyes contacts happen to be highly comfortable for folks with dry eyes. Yes, people with dry eyes can use lenses even for extended hours.

These special purpose lenses are soft lenses that keep a check over dryness of eye by curbing excess evaporation of water from eyes. With advent of silicone hydrogel lenses, dry eyes got a good pair of lens that is soothing to their eyes. These silicone hydrogel lenses contain less water but are greatly helpful in offering the eye much needed moisture. Even if you wear these lenses for extended hours it's not going to give you much of the discomfort.

If you are really looking for one such lens, first of all you should consult eye doctor to get your eye tested against your dry eye needs. Once the doctor approve off the usage of contact lenses that are specifically meant for dry eyes, you can go ahead with a good pair of contacts of a reputed brand approved by doctors.

Always choose the lenses that contain comparatively lesser water content. Various new polymer lenses with little amount of water have come on the block to serve the purpose of dry eyes.

Omafilcon A is one such polymer that is being used by leading contact lens manufacturing companies. The polymer is greatly suited for dry eyes. It helps retain water in eyes.

Certain biocompatible lenses too have surfaced to solve the problem of dry eyes. These lenses get adjusted to the nature of eye and respond accordingly to offer comfort to the eye. Proclear Compatibilities is a leading producer of biocompatible lenses. You can also pick Acuvue Oasis lenses if you are especially looking for good quality lenses for dry eyes.

So, dry eyes no longer intend you to deprive off from contact lenses. You can definitely go for those contacts that are suited to your eye condition. <bio>The author writes about a number of different topics.
Extreme H2O contact lenses were the first molded spherical lenses manufactured for use as inexpensive daily wear lenses. If you take the time to do the math to figure out the cost per hour of wearing Extreme H2O contact lenses you will realize that the cost of wearing these lenses is actually lower than for typical contact lenses. In addition they give you such comfort that you actually forget you are wearing contact lenses, the technology used for these lenses has become extremely advanced.

Soft lens users normally complain that their lenses become less comfortable towards the end of the day, the primary reason being that the lenses go dry. As soft lenses lose their water they become stiffer and feel less soft. Soft lenses that are made of polymer materials can hold all their water while being worn and will retain their softness and flexibility for very long periods. Their comfort will be maintained all day long, even in extreme environments and during activities that will normally lead to dryness. You can safely wear them for longer time periods because of the cutting edge comfort technology used to manufacture them.

Extreme H2O contact lenses are ideal for people who usually wear their lenses for longer periods of time. It will help them avoid end of day discomfort, commonly known as "5 o'clock syndrome". Near that time each day, the eyes of contact lens wearers normally dry and tire out, making it uncomfortable to keep contact lenses in. They also become clearly aware of the lenses in their eyes. However, with Extreme H2O contact lenses, you won't have that clock in your head going off. The lenses almost completely eliminate late-day lens discomfort and awareness. That makes them clearly better lenses than other two-week contact lenses currently on the market.

Unlike their competitors you will not have dryness problems interfering with your vision on your drive home from work, or your lenses becoming so itchy and annoying that you contemplate giving up on them. There is no need to go putting on those glasses just yet.

The key secret behind Extreme H2O contact lenses is Hioxifilcon A, (a co-polymer GMA-HEMA). This compound in the contact lenses helps the lenses and thus your eyes keep their moisture. The contact lenses stay moist and pliable unlike many others that would just dry out. This extra durability and consistency means that these lenses perform better and will not shrink as the day progresses. The lenses will have the same levels of oxygen permeating at the end of the day than in the morning. They will also maintain their dimensions. This means that your lenses will always fit you properly and you will not have to change your prescription level.

You should consider changing to Extreme H2O contact lenses if the two week contacts that you are currently wearing tend to dry out and become irritating toward the end of the day. With the twenty first century high-tech polymer ingredients of Extreme H2O contacts, you will get your money's worth and be glad you switched. <bio>Extreme H2O contact lenses are manufactured by Hydrogel Vision.
With the move to get rid of our excess waste and the worlds attention to the environment, why do grocery stores still insist on asking the age old question; "would You Like Paper or Plastic?". Since most grocery stores can't seem to get away from the plastic option, we need to take it upon ourselves to step in and refuse the plastic. You don't have to go paper either, there is a better solution.

According to scientists, a single plastic bag can take up to 500 years or longer to photodegrade. Plastic bags don't biodegrade. Plastic bags are created from a man made polymer called polyethylene. Microorganisms do not recognize this as food, therefore they don't degrade.

Plastic bags over time and with consistent exposure the sun will breakdown, but this does not destroy the polymer. When exposed to the UV radiation from sunlight, polyethylene's polymer chains become brittle and start to crack. What this means is that the plastic will eventually fragment into millions of little pieces. It will never be completely gone.

Based on research, when something begins to biodegrade, it gives off Carbon Dioxide, when a plastic bag begins to photodegrade, there is no Carbon Dioxide present, therefore these polymers do not biodegrade.

The U.S. goes through over 100 Billion plastic bags each year, think how long it is going to take for these bags to photodegrade. We have choices, it's up to us to make the right choice for the welfare of our environment. There are options out there and the trend is becoming fashionable and trendy.

When you go to the grocery store, instead of selecting paper or plastic, bring your own eco-friendly tote with you. If you are going for a few items, not shopping for a weeks worth of groceries, save a bag and bring your tote.

Eco-Friendly totes are flying off the shelf. Hundreds of people stood in line in New York City in the pouring rain to get their hands on an eco-friendly tote. In Taiwan, crowds waiting in line for an eco-friendly tote started a massive riot because there were not enough to satisfy the demand. People everywhere are refusing th option of paper or plastic and stuffing their totes with their groceries. Now it's the grocery store chains turn to lead by example and get rid of these non earth friendly parasites.

Around the world, retailers are looking ata ways to either recycle the plastic bags or even banning them outright. For example, Retailers in Modbury, England recently committed to ban plastic bags all together. In California, most large grocery stores are legally required to recycle plastic bags. That is a start, now which states, nations are going to follow suit? We can't wait for the government to make it mandatory. Since lobbyists work for the enemy, we need to take it upon ourselves and educate our friends, family and neighbors and set the example.

Even if the idea of carrying in a tote to the grocery store does not appeal to you, re-use your plastic bags several times over, or better yet go back to paper. I like the tote idea myself. <bio>MD owns http://www.tm-scooterhaven.com and promotes electric transportation.
Most of the inexpensive modern <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/tarps" rel="tag">tarps we see today are made from woven polyethylene; this material is used so widely that many refer to it as polytarp. Some tarps are still made of canvas or vinyl and are used mostly for specialized applications. Formerly, canvas and canvas-type tarps were heavy and bulky. To make them waterproof, they were treated with tar or paint. They also had a tendency to pick up moisture, and as one might expect, they had low to no flexibility in freezing temperatures. They would become even more bulky and cumbersome with age because canvas is a natural fiber material and prone to moisture retention, mildew and decomposition.

In the early sixties, fabric tarps were coated with nylon, polyester or polyethylene. This was a great advancement in tarp design. Polymers were just starting to take hold in industrial and consumer markets. Polymers made products much more versatile and durable, as well as spawning a plethora of new lightweight and inexpensive items. For tarp design and construction, woven polyethylene eventually became the dominant material.

Advances in polymer science and engineering have influenced great technical strides in the last decade. As a result, most of the tarps used today are made of reinforced woven polyethylene. The best available technologically advanced tarps are composed of a three-layer, laminated, high-density polymer woven for multidirectional strength. They feature heavy-duty aluminum grommets on the corners and around the tarp's hem, which are spaced thirty-six inches apart.

These coverings have extra-heavy polyester roping sewn into the hems, allowing one to securely tie down the tarp. As the base material of polyethylene has remarkable properties, they naturally possess cold temperature flexibility and are crack resistance down to minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit. They are water, mold, mildew and rot resistant in the harshest and wettest of environments and even when in direct contact with the ground. They are tear, acid and ultra-violet ray resistant. Many of the higher quality tarps are silver in color, permitting the sun's rays to be reflected. This keeps the covered item much cooler than it would be if it were protected with a dark or transparent outer surface.

Modern tarps come in a variety of thicknesses, densities, colors, shapes and sizes. Unlike the old canvas, polyester or nylon designs, woven polyethylene tarps are an incomparable consumer value. The practical uses for quality modern tarps are virtually endless, with the durability and versatility of tarp construction born from modern polymer science. <bio>By FR Penn sponsored by http://www.mrtool.com/ Mr. Tool sells professional quality tarps: http://www.mrtool.com/ Please link to this site when using this article. </bio>

Outdoor bird cages are nice to have as it will allow the bird to get fresh air as well as be in the company of the family during outdoor gatherings. When looking to purchase an outdoor bird cage, there are some things you should know.

First of all, you do not need to buy the largest cage in the world. The most important aspect of the cage for the type of bird you have is the bar spacing. The spacing should be narrow. It should prevent injury to the bird if it should try to escape. Therefore, the bird's head should not fit between the bars.

Small birds should have a cage spacing of 5/8'', medium birds have a spacing of =BD'' =BE'', and large birds should have a bar spacing of 3/4'' to 1 =BC''.

Small birds like cages that are of relatively small size. Larger birds or medium size birds would enjoy a larger cage. Parrots especially enjoy toys near the top of their cages. This is the place where they feel the safest, so this part should have lots of toys and cover. After playing for some time, they look for food and toys that have dropped near the bottom of their cages.

Be sure to monitor your bird's water supply if the cage is outdoors. Often times when the heat is high, your bird can die from exhaustion if it is not kept with a continual water supply. The heat levels tend to peak during the middle of the day. You also have to watch whether the bird gets too cold during the night because being too cold can be another killer. Your weather should not be too extreme, but it should be suitable for the species of bird you own.

The cage door should be large enough for you to comfortably fit your hand in the cage and catch/remove the bird. Outdoor bird cages can last for many years if you take care of them by cleaning them regularly, watching for oxidation if the cage is made of steel, and replace bedding often.

Outdoor bird cages can be powder coated, painted, or just stainless steel. Cages that are made of low quality stainless steel will likely rust quickly. Paint coatings are also known to last longer than powder coatings. There is no simple answer as to which type of coating you should choose, however you should speak to the salesperson at the store to try to get as much information as possible about the options you are considering. <bio>Doug Nelson is a pet lover and owner of http://bird-cage-advisor.com Visit his site for more bird cage tips and ideas for your pet bird. </bio>

If you want to own a unique gazebo with old-fashioned refinement, you might want to check out a wrought iron gazebo. Wrought iron has a beautiful antique look that can add sophistication and elegance to any garden, lawn or yard.

Wrought iron outdoor furniture has been a perennial favorite for its hard-wearing weather resistance and old world charm. A wrought iron gazebo has the same timeless appeal and durable strength. Yet many people are leery of buying wrought iron outdoor furnishings because it tends to rust on the surface. These days many wrought iron outdoor furnishings are treated with anti-rust coatings during manufacture, then are finished with powdered pigment coatings. Care should be taken not to scratch or damage the finish as the bare metal will likely rust once exposed to the elements. Occasional cleaning with mild soap and water will serve to keep the finish strong and new-looking. The manufacturer may also include care instructions with the wrought iron gazebo that should be carefully followed.

Wrought iron gazebos are usually shipped in pieces. They can be easily assembled and erected following the manufacturer's instructions. You may want to enlist the help of a friend or two, to speed the job along. You can find wrought iron gazebos in many different shapes and styles to satisfy your desires. You might decide to buy wrought iron furniture to coordinate with your new gazebo and enjoy the soon-to-be heirloom set while dining outdoors with the family or socializing with friends.

You will love how a wrought iron gazebo adds beauty and distinction to your yard or garden.
Many men from Leonardo da Vinci in the year 1508 to a German glassblower in 1887 have toyed with the idea of adjusting vision using everything from water on the eyes to some sort of "animal jelly" and finally, glass. The first contact lenses in Germany in 1888 were made of blown glass and were very large and thick. The glass used was brown in color and covered the entire eye surface. They were so uncomfortable that they could only be worn for very short periods of time throughout the day.

In the 1930's, a Plexiglas contact lens was created. Plexiglas is a compound substance that combines plastic and glass. Contact lenses were now much lighter and easier to deal with. But they were still made to cover almost the entire eyeball and therefore remained fairly uncomfortable and could only be worn for a short period of time because the contact prevented the cornea from getting oxygen.

In 1949, a lens was finally developed that only covered the cornea, or the colored part of the eye. These contact lenses were much more comfortable and as a result, patients were able to keep them in all day. These lenses were popular until the early 1970's. They were the first contact lenses in history to be mass-produced. Pieces of Plexiglas could be shaped on a lathe according to the specifications requested by the ordering ophthalmologist.

There were still some adverse reactions to the Plexiglas contact lenses. Plexiglas does not allow air to pass through it and therefore, patients who were wearing these contact lenses for extended periods of time were suffering from lack of oxygen to their eyes. To counteract this, new polymers were created to use in the manufacturing of contact lenses in the early 1980's. The word polymer literally means, "many parts". And that is exactly what a polymer is made of, many parts. Polymers are plastics that are formed using large molecules that do not bunch together tightly, leaving molecular spaces where air can pass through the plastic.

Now that we had polymer plastics to work with, many different types of rigid oxygen permeable contact lenses were introduced throughout the 1980's and 1990's. But it wasn't until 1971 when the US Food and Drug Administration approved the very first soft contact lens. Once they were approved, they outsold rigid or hard contact lenses by a wide margin. This has lead to a constant stream of newer and more improved soft contact lenses every year. In 1999, the first silicon contact lens was approved, which offered even better oxygen permeability and could be prescribed for overnight wear.

Today's Rigid Gas Permeable contact lenses have improved to the point that in some ways surpass soft lenses. Although, rigid lenses take a couple of weeks to adapt to, they have been found to improve vision better than soft lenses and eliminate the problem of suffering from dry eyes.

The history of today's contact lenses began more than a century ago, while the theory was being discussed 500 years ago. These medical devices have helped millions of people around the world see their world that much better. <bio>For more information on and where online to purchase contact lenses try visiting http://www.contactlensesguideonline.com a popular contact lens resource website filled with tips, ideas and information including multifocal contact lenses, contact lenses for astigmatism and free contact lenses. mark(at)contactlensesguideonline.com </bio>

There are a lot of these particular tonneau cover on the road, saving gas and protecting cargo from the weather and not to mention keeping your cargo out of sight out of mind. It is classed as a hard top retractable tonneau cover. It seems to be a pickup truck owner's favorite.

After unlocking the Pace Edwards Roll-Top tonneau cover it retracts automatically enabling you to gain access to your full truck bed. This cover is manufactured to give a nice smooth flush mount look. The padded polymer looks and feels like leather but lasts longer. The one piece padded polymer is laminated to heavy gauge aluminum panels. This way you get a soft feel but a hard tonneau cover. All the aluminum trim is smooth and has scratch resistant powder -- coat finish. This tonneau cover is custom designed to fit your particular make, model and year. The design structure will not freeze or collapse with snow. Like most retractable tonneau covers, water is channeled to the canister and out through drain tubes to help keep your truck bed dry. It retracts automatically and can be closed with one hand from either side of the truck bed.

They say this tonneau cover installs in less than one hour. In my opinion in most cases I would say it takes a little longer. The cover is backed by a 1 year warranty.

They say that the cover is pretty water tight but you may get a little water in a very hard rain storm but installing the gasket kit for the tailgate may help. In most cases the tonneau cover kept the truck bed dry. Some may complain that there is no pull strap or handle just a key turn lock at the back end. Some also complain about the lock itself. It seems it may be kind of cheap. One good thing though, it is just a standard cabinet lock and easy to replace. There does seem to be a problem getting the lock to align. I would suggest two people to install this cover as it may help with alignment issues. It seems if you live on dusty roads or spend a lot of time on them you may encounter problems with the tracks clogging up.

All in all these are minor problems and still most people love their Pace Edwards Roll -- Top tonneau cover. I am sure you would enjoy it just as much. <bio>All rights reserved. Feel free to use this article but you must keep this resource box with it and the links must be kept usable.
We all know that <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/eskimos" rel="tag">Eskimos primarily use snow to build houses. How then could you sell them more of something, which is abundant and free? But what if you had a type of snow that did not melt in the summer, yet still had the insulation properties of snow in the winter. Do you think you could sell that to the Eskimos?

This is a great proposition; we can actually solve three problems at once. The first problem being that their houses melt in the summer. This means that they need different forms of shelter, like skins, in the summer months. The second problem is that the skins are not as warm as their igloos are in the winter. The third is that they are probably fed up with building two houses a year -- especially when they could build one that lasts for twenty years.

Get them to put a value on their new capability! But having a house that last for a hundred years is an alien concept, and one that would be treated with extreme skepticism, were one to put that idea forward in such a crude fashion to an Eskimo. This where empathy and careful understanding, not only of needs and desires comes in, but also of what will be acceptable to your potential buyer.

Now let's go to your product for a second. This is where I have cheated slightly with the headline. Your company actually sells this white, pre-fabricated polymer, that is light to carry, and when a cord is pulled, inflates into a house.

Difficult to believe isn't it? So if you are having difficulty in grasping that concept, think what your average Eskimo is going to say when you explain that concept to them. "Go straight back to the funny farm, from whence you must have escaped" - will be probably be foremost in their mind!

So what is snow? Along with many other uses, it is a house building material to Eskimos. So if you start talking about white stuff that you can build houses with, that you call snow, they will probably give you an audience.

Now ask them what the biggest problem with building a house from snow is. Well you know the answer is that it melts in the sun. We have identified a need. Keep going get those three problems out in the open. Now ask them, what life would be like if they did not have to build new houses twice a year. What could they do with that time?

Get them to put a value on their new capability -- let's assume that they are able to catch more fish and sell them to Captain Birds Eye. How much would they make? Would it also be better fun that building houses twice a year? So lets assume they make €5,000 extra a year -- you already knew that because you did your homework!

Your indestructible houses only cost €3,000 a year over 20 years. So not only do the Eskimos get to do something they enjoy, but they also have an extra €2,000 in their pocket each year. Oh yes, and what is your product called? "The polymer fabricated indestruct..." Stop -- that's a real techie name, the sort of thing IBM used to dream up!

How about "there's Snow place like home" -- corny, yes -- but you get your prospects attention, you identify their key problems, you help them put a value on it and hey presto -- you have a willing and happy buyer. <bio>Is your company ready to grow to the next level?
The world has become very dependent upon plastic products. From household items to industry and aerospace, plastic in its many formulations has transformed modern manufacturing and created conveniences and economies unimagined in the early decades of the 20th century.

Injection Molds

The injection molding industry took hold in 1946 when James Hendry built a screw injection molding machine. But, his technology was based on an earlier invention by John Wesley Hyatt who, in 1868 injected hot celluloid into a mold to make billiard balls. Hyatt's method used a plunger to force the material inside a mold. Hendry's improvement was revolutionary because it eliminated the plunger and replaced it with an auger-type action that better distributed material and facilitated the use of plastic inside molds.

Today's injection molds use much the same process and produce a wide variety of products from car panels to outdoor furniture, small toys and tools. Injection molding is ubiquitous in manufacturing and uses many different materials from polymer plastics to aluminum, copper and other metals. The plastic bottles and kitchen implements people use in everyday life are products of the injection process.

Because the metal molds are generally expensive to produce, injection molding is most economically used when thousands of pieces are being manufactured. Molds are made of hardened steel or, more recently, aluminum which is less expensive.

The Injection Process

Described very simply, molten plastic is injected into the mold under high heat and pressure. The goal is to have the molten plastic material evenly flow to all parts of the mold, creating an exact, consistent, solid plastic replica of the mold cavity. After a brief cooling cycle, the mold or tooling mechanically ejects the plastic part which then moves on through the manufacturing process. In the injection molding industry, this is a completely automated process that's very fast and extremely efficient.

Rotational Molding

Rotational molding is yet another method of producing multiple products, most often made with a variety of plastic powders. This process is usually used in making hollow products such as traffic cones, canoes, kayaks, bicycle helmets and giant tanks used for water or chemical storage.

Like Injection molding, rotational molding had its roots in the 1940s. But it was not until the technology was more sophisticated and new polymer and plastic formulations became available that the rotational process became a mainstream manufacturing method.

Rotational Process

The two processes are quite different. Let's consider, for example, a 300 gallon water storage tank made of polyethylene. Picture a master mold made of aluminum or steel. The plastics manufacturer pours poly resin powder into the mold that is fitted inside an oven. Once sealed, the mold is mechanically turned on at least three axes, moving much like a gyroscope. At the same time, the oven is raised to an appropriate temperature and the polymer - or other material - tumbles inside and slowly coats the inner walls of the mold, melting as it rotates.

Once the optimal temperature is reached, the mold is cooled. As the temperature of the mold itself falls, the product on the inside shrinks away from the inner walls and is easily removed. This is not always the case with injection molds that are often more difficult to successfully remove. The shrinking action of rotational molding is particularly desirable when the product is very large and awkward to handle.

Rotational molding is also more economical for some products because less material is used. In addition, the polymer that is left over from one mold can be used in another. The method itself is more streamlined than injection molding, which requires more interlocking parts.

Materials Improve and Expand

Most products made with the rotational molding method are from the polyethylene family. Other materials include nylons, polypropylene and PVC plastics. Some manufacturers have developed formulas that integrate the use of natural materials such as sand and chips of stone to make products.

Plastic and resin products are now an integral part of everyday life and supply us with items as tiny as paper clips and as big as storage tanks. As the industry developed, so too has environmental awareness about the safety and use of these petrochemical-based products. Today, materials can meet the specifications of FDA requirements, and other health and safety related regulations. Producers are also cooperating to create products that can be recycled.<bio>Visit us for additional information on rotational molding and rotomolding equipment.</bio>

How do biodegradable packing products compare to those made of plastic? Do they compromise the protection of the item within the package? How do they work? First of all, they do not compromise the protection aspect. They are just as effective as many of the plastic products used to ship items. The difference is that they will degrade or disintegrate over time rather than be released somewhere in the environment to remain for months or years at a time. Such waste can put habitats at risk and puts the environment at risk as well. With biodegradable packing products, they will dissolve over time and not have a negative impact on animal habitats and the environment.

As far as how they work, biodegradable packing is plant-based, which means they are made up of renewable resources. They are created from nature, which means they decompose completely within weeks or months. This works well if the material ends up in the environment or if the biodegradable materials are placed within a composting area.

However, the use of biodegradable materials is growing in popularity due to the fact more and more people are becoming involved with living a greener lifestyle. They are free of plastic coatings, harmful chemicals, do not need an incredible amount of energy to create them, and they do not use any tree resources at all. Many of these biodegradable packing materials are produced outside of Blair, Nebraska , which uses polyactic acid that is commonly referred to as resin. The company called NatureWorks, uses corn to produce the resin and they state that their product is made from 100% renewable resources that are renewed on an annual basis. In this case, the resource is corn and corn can easily be grown from year-to-year. This makes their polymer the first to show a verifiable reduction in the amount of greenhouse gasses released into the atmosphere.

Certain items such as non-biodegradable packing peanuts and bubble wrap cannot do this and many times end up in landfills. Sometimes, these materials escape the trash and end up in bird's nests, which can be hazardous to the little ones and may even end up in water habitats. Animals can become entangled in such materials as bubble wrap and can choke on packing peanuts. That is why it is important to employ the use of biodegradable packing products to prevent such travesties from happening.

As for the amount of garbage saved, the whole picture is rather overwhelming. Think about 1,000 tons of biodegradable waste. Now just imagine 1,000 tons of non-biodegradable waste. In a matter of weeks or months, that 1,000 tons of biodegradable waste will be gone, but the non-biodegradable waste will be hanging around for an unspecified amount of time. That means that 100% of biodegradable waste is waste

There is over 100,000 tons of packing material used each year to ship products all over the world. If all packing materials were made of biodegradable packing materials, then that would be 100,000 tons of waste that would not exist. In a matter of weeks or months, that waste would be completely gone. To imagine that much waste absent from a landfill is hard to imagine.

So with this said, it is fair to say that the amount of garbage saved by biodegradable packing materials is quite significant and with the growing popularity of biodegradable materials, we should expect to see less packing materials such as bubble wrap, non-biodegradable packing peanuts, and other plastic packing materials in the landfills. Instead, we will see our boxes filled with biodegradable packing materials that will in no way compromise the safety of the item or items inside. <bio>Saving money the next time you move or ship a package is important. Using http://www.ecobox.com/ environmentally friendly used and recycled moving boxes is a great way to maintain your bottom line. Help reduce excess landfill waste by choosing http://www.ecobox.com/Moving-Supplies/Bubble-Wrap-Cushioning biodegradable packing and shipping products ! </bio>

When you want to make an "impression" there is no better way than with a rubber stamp. You can find a rubber stamp with a great design on it that expresses your personality, or order a custom rubber stamp with your name, address or company logo on it. Rubber stamps are great for business or pleasure; they are great for kids and for executives, depending on what they are used for. Rubber stamps come in a variety of styles and choosing one over another is going to depend on the use for the stamp. Three common types of rubber stamps are: standard rubber stamps, self-inking stamps and pre-inked stamps.

Traditional Rubber Stamps Standard rubber stamps are a good value for the money and are good for ordinary use. They are usually designed with wooden bases and handles and rubber heads. You can order a custom rubber stamp with your own phrase or information on it; and it is common for standard rubber stamps to have stock phrases like "Approved," "Draft" or "Paid" on them for business use. Standard rubber stamps are available with dies that are made out of, photo polymer, or traditional rubber. Photo polymer stamp dies do not perform well with industrial inks. Rubber is the best material for standard stamps - it is durable and flexible. You will need to purchase an ink pad to go along with a standard rubber stamp, and there are many colors of ink available. Traditional Rubber Stamps can be made in any size or shape.

Self Inking Rubber Stamps With self-inking rubber stamps, you do not need a separate ink pad. A rubber die is mounted to a plate that strikes a built-in ink pad each time an impression is made. You don't have to worry about the mess caused when you accidentally touch the ink and get it on your fingers as self inking stamps have the stamp and the ink pad self contained. They can make thousands of impressions before their internal ink pads need to be reinked. Self-inking stamps are popular for business purposes, mass mailings, or if you simply are tired of writing your address by hand on every letter you send. These are good for repetitive stamping tasks and are usually used for custom work like address stamps and endorsement stamps, or for general business uses.

Pre inked Rubber Stamps A pre-inked stamp does not require a separate ink pad either since the ink resides within the stamp's surface. The ink is transmitted to the paper's surface through microscopic pores in the rubber which also prevent leakage. A pre-inked rubber stamp is refilled by placing more ink into its reservoir. Like self-inking stamps, pre-inked stamps are good to use when you have many impressions to make, such as mass mailings or if you want to have a stamp with your address or monogram on it.

You might wonder which rubber stamp is right for you: a standard, self-inking or pre-inked stamp. A standard rubber stamp can be a good choice if you do not use it very often because a standard rubber stamp takes more time to use than the other varieties (i.e. you have to ink the stamp on the ink pad and then make the impression on the paper's surface). Both the self-inking stamps and the pre-inked stamps are good options for business use. They are both neat and convenient, and can make a thousand impressions before more ink is needed. Pre Inked Stamps are the best decision if you are looking for a quality stamp. <bio>Adam Raidabaugh is the president of ACORN Sales Company, Inc., a leader in the marking and stamp industry.
Metal roofing is more popular today than it has been in many years. However, the majority of people not planning to complete home improvements or renovations will not get the attraction. In this era of adverse weather conditions they will perceive metal roofing as a hazard because of the idea that it will attract lightening. However, that view is misguided to say the least. There are many benefits and advantages to having metal roofing at the moment and no good reason not to because it does not actually attract lightening at all!

Some metal roofing can be quite expensive but there is a range of prices to choose from, in keeping with the fact that there is a variety of metal roofing for an individual to choose from. However, even if you do choose a high price metal roof and the expense is considerable to begin with, you will soon find that the cost is spread over a number of years because it is durable and long lasting as well as effectively returning the original cost to your pocket. Metal roofing will last anywhere upwards of 20 years and does not require much maintenance. It will also increase the value of your home were you to sell it as well as lowering your insurance premium!

You will find metal roofing on a variety of home designs and styles because it is so versatile that it will fit in virtually anywhere. It will not look out of place on an old house, nor on a new one, and can withstand any weather and environmental conditions that you can throw at it!

Metal roofing may be cost efficient over a number of years but it will prove itself to be energy efficient immediately and this will be visible from the very first bill that you have after it is installed. You energy bills will be lower and will recoup the cost of the roof in just a few years. Its insulation is second to none, thus keeping your home warm in winter and cool in summer. For more info see http://www.homeroofinghelp.com/Types_Of_Metal_Roofing on structural metal roofing.

Metal roofing also has the advantage of being fire proof and will not attract lightening. It is also rust proof as the result of various coatings that can be added to it at any given time. However, for the best result it should be applied before metal roofing is exposed to the elements. Metal roofing will not dent or bow either as a result of its strength and rigidity. In short, a metal roof is the perfect roof and should tempt most individuals into investment!

Modern metal roofing systems are fantastic as far as style, aesthetic appearance and resistance to the elements goes, but they are also really good when you look at their ease of use when compared with the longevity associated with them. They can resist anything the environment has to throw at them if treated properly because any coatings and treatments are usually accompanied by a warranty that lasts just as long as the metal roofing system is expected to. You cannot afford to consider any other type of roofing system when faced with these benefits. <bio>You can also find more info on http://www.homeroofinghelp.com/Residential_Metal_Roofing on residential metal and http://www.homeroofinghelp.com/Sheet_Metal_Roofing on sheet metal. http://Homeroofinghelp.com is a comprehensive resource to known about metal roofing. </bio>

There are many bike riders that like having a shield in front of them as they ride. Shields help keep the bugs out of your teeth and the rain from feeling like shot from a shotgun. They also help protect the riders from large bug spatter that almost knock them off their bikes, as well as debris that comes from vehicles either passing or that is in front of them. They are great in the wintertime to block the cold wind. The winter wind will make your hands numb no matter if you wear riding gloves or not.

There are many types of bikes on the road today, and the type of bike that you have has to be considered when purchasing a windshield. The cruisers mostly sit low and you should notice how high your eyes and head are from the headlight. It is each rider's preference as to how high the windshield should be, however, most riders like to look over the top edge of the windshield. You should also be able to see at least 50 feet in front of you. You should also consider the width of the windshield for winter riding. Do you want it to protect your hands? The bikes that you have to lean forward to ride, such as the Honda CBR, usually go by the same general rules that the cruisers do.

There are several differences in certain types of material for motorcycle windshield materials. The oldest type is the Acrylic type, they were well known for their crystal clear windshields, and however, drill mounting put stress cracks in the acrylic and lead to breakage. Then as time passed a high impact Acrylic windshield was developed which passed a plastic test called the IZOD test, where the standard acrylic broke at 1.5 pounds per foot and the high impact windshield held up to 8 pounds per foot before it broke. Now the new Quantum Polycarbonate is the toughest material made that outstands the others with much better strength much better optical quality, and has far better scratch and abrasion resistance.

There are several differences in the types of motorcycle windshield materials. In the past windshields were made from FMR surface coatings, which gave the polycarbonate a much better abrasion resistance, than ordinary acrylic windshields. These FMR polycarbonate were the Cadillac of motorcycle windshields for many years, but has now lost its place as another type has been developed.

The new Quantum windshields now offer 30 times more abrasive resistance than the old acrylic windshields and 10 times more resistance than the FMR coatings. As far as crack resistance, the Quantum is 23 times better than the acrylic types, and is equal in crack resistance as FMR polycarbonates.

The old adage stands that you get what you pay for. If you are worried about the price and purchase a windshield that you can afford, it may not protect you the way you would like, instead of saving the money and purchasing the best motorcycle windshield on the market. Safety should always be your utmost concern, as there is no one more important that yourself.<bio>Merlin an old school rider shares his experience and knowledge with thousands of readers monthly.
A diamond is a highly precious stone and is one of the hardest known natural materials in the world.

Many high profile celebrities, royalties and ultra rich people buy diamonds both for adornment and investments. When in time of unforeseen financial problems, diamonds can be easily sold for a high amount.

The price of a diamond is generally based on 4 Cs =96 Color, Carat, Clarity and Cut. Among these four, the color may be the hardest to decide because there is a wide array of diamond colors to choose from.

There are a variety of colors of diamonds found in the market today. There pink, yellow, blue, brown, red and many other colors. In fact due to structural shifting and a variety of impurities, many other tints of diamonds exist.

To the jewelers, diamonds have color grading to determine the price of the stone. Grades D-E-F generally refers to the colorless type. Diamonds having these grades are usually the more expensive types and very difficult to find because of their rarity.

Grade G-H-I-J are the nearly colorless types and maybe relatively expensive. Diamonds having grades K-L-M have usually yellow tints. Grades can reach up to Z and price decreases as the grading approaches Z.

If you are a purist and have a lot of money, settle for diamonds with a grade of D-F. They are the best the industry but they maybe sold by select few jewelers. Near colorless diamonds within G-I grade show no noticeable color and tints to the naked eye can also be an excellent choice.

It is very common to find fancy and colored diamonds in the market today. Even though they are designed for mass appeal, the still exude elegance and style so it is no wonder that one can see high profile people in public functions wearing these stylish colored diamonds.

Fancy and colorful diamonds are created by irradiation which can turn yellow or brown diamonds into greens, blues, reds and other fancy colored ones. These fancy colored diamonds are an inexpensive alternative to the rare and very expensive natural colorless diamonds. But these fancy colored diamonds should not be considered as an investment. If you want to buy one of these fancy colored diamonds, make sure you ask the jeweler for care instructions.

There are two general grading for fancy colored diamonds. The first is based on basic hue like yellow, blue, green, etc. The second grading is based on intensity. In general, the more intense the color, the more expensive the colored diamond costs.

As an example, a fancy vivid pink diamond is more expensive than fancy light pink even if they have exactly the same clarity, shape and size.

To conceal yellowish tints in diamonds that may affect the diamond's quality and price, some jewelers trick buyers by applying coatings to the diamonds to change the color. These coatings will eventually rub off in time. If you are buying diamonds, this is one aspect you should be wary about. <bio>Please visit http://www.buyingaloosediamond.com </bio>

Industrial safety equipment is used to reduce the risk of injury, loss and danger to persons, property or the environment in any facility or place involving the manufacturing, producing and processing of goods or merchandise. All around the clock safety of the workers and the industrial safety equipment should be ensured by the employer and the employee.

Not all glasses are designed solely for vision correction, but rather for protection, viewing visual information (such as stereoscopy) or simply just for aesthetic or fashion values. Safety glasses are a kind of eye protection against flying debris or against visible and near visible light or radiation. Sunglasses allow better vision in bright daylight, and may protect against damage from high levels of ultraviolet light. Industrial Safety glasses are a kind of eye protection against flying debris or against visible and near visible light or radiation.

Eyeglass frames are commonly made from metal, horn or plastic. Lenses were originally made from glass, but many are now made from various types of plastic, including CR-39 or polycarbonate. These materials reduce the danger of breakage and weigh less than glass lenses. Some plastics also have more advantageous optical properties than glass, such as better transmission of visible light and greater absorption of ultraviolet light. Some plastics have a greater index of refraction than most types of glass; this is useful in the making of corrective lenses shaped to correct various vision abnormalities such as myopia, allowing thinner lenses for a given prescription. Nowadays safety glasses can be combined with sun glasses, allowing for eye protection in outside activities from flying debris and ultraviolet light.

Scratch-resistant coatings can be applied to most plastic lenses giving them similar scratch resistance to glass. Hydrophobic coatings designed to ease cleaning are also available, as are anti-reflective coatings intended to improve night vision and make the wearer's eyes more visible.

Earmuffs are foam filled cushions and pivoting ear cups provide a snug, comfortable fit. Earmuffs are objects designed to cover a person's ears for protection resembling the headphone. They consist of a thermoplastic or metal headband that fits over the top of the head, and a pad at each end, to cover the external ears. They come in two basic kinds: Thermal earmuffs: the original type, worn in winter to keep a person's ears warm.

Acoustic earmuffs, also known as ear defenders: cups lined with sound-deadening material, like thermal earmuffs and headphones in appearance, which are worn as hearing protection. These may be carried on a head-band or clipped onto the sides of a hard hat, for easy use on construction sites. Some manufacturers combine headphones with ear defenders, allowing the wearer to listen to music, communication or other audio source and also enjoy protection or isolation from ambient noise. Acoustic earmuffs were created in Italy in 1982. The advantages of earmuffs over earplugs are: Less attenuation variability among users, designed so that one size fits most head sizes, not easily misplaced or lost, may be worn with minor ear infections and can be quickly placed over and removed from your ears. <bio>Max Johnson is associate webmaster for http://www.embroidered-uniforms-corporate-apparel.com. There are 2 basic types of decorative films, adhesive-based polyester films and adhesive-free static-vinyl films.

Since the 60's when people began sticking Contact paper to their windows, there have been adhesive-based films.

At first glance, the advantage of adhesive films seems to be price as they are typically cheaper than adhesive-free static films. However when all the factors of the project -- looks, materials, supplies, time and energy to install and remove the film are considered, the adhesive-free static films prove to be a better value and much easier to use.

To apply, the basic steps are the same for both types of film. Clean glass, wet glass, remove film from backing paper, position film on glass, squeegee out water and air bubbles from under film and let dry. Whether you are redecorating, putting the home up for sale, or moving, at some point the final part of the project has to be done: remove the film from the glass.

Reviewing the film characteristics on a step-by-step basis helps to highlight the differences.

Adhesive-free static films are typically 8-mil thick PVC films that adhere to glass, like a magnet to steel. Adhesive-based films have changed a little since Contact paper. The glue is even stronger (making it harder to take off later) and the material is a thin 2-mil polyester film.

Both films are easy to trim to size and are applied to wet glass. In addition to wetting the glass, adhesive-based films must have water sprayed on the adhesive after the backing paper is removed, making the job more difficult than static films which are removed from the backing paper and applied directly to the wet glass.

Applying the film to the glass is where the differences begin to show up. Static films are heavier films that hang fairly straight when removed from the backing paper. If static film sticks to itself or touches the windowsill before it gets onto the glass it is easily straightened and still ready to apply. If adhesive-films stick together, it is not quite as simple to fix as the very forgiving static films.

Adhesive-based polyester films are easily crinkled or wrinkled. If the film sticks to itself, it can be very difficult to pull apart without damaging the film. Letting the film touch the windowsill or wall next to the window can become a very sticky problem. (Installation hint: When covering large windows or glass doors, static films are much easier to apply. The larger the piece of film being applied, the greater the challenge to keep the film from sticking to itself. The lighter adhesive films are susceptible to drafts, wind currents and mishandling that can cause them to become stuck together and possibly ruined. Static films are heavier and less affected by wind, plus they are easily straightened if they do come together. )

After the film is on the glass, the water allows the film to slide into position and a squeegee is used to remove the excess water and air bubbles. Films can slide around during the squeegeeing process and get out of position. If you are using adhesive-based films, you will have to live with the results, because once the water is removed, the glue activates and that is where the film stays. Adhesive-free static films are removable and reusable, if the film moves during installation, simply peel from glass, rewet and repeat.

Once dry, both films will provide years of decorative service. The benefits of adhesive-free static films are fully realized when it is time to redecorate or remove the film. To remove adhesive films, you must purchase a window film removal kit with a chemical spray to loosen the adhesive and then scrape the film off the glass, a process that is difficult and can take hours. Adhesive-free static films are easily removed from the glass by simply pulling back a corner and peeling off the glass. (Reapply to backing paper for future use.)

Decorative window films also provide energy savings. The thin, 2-mil polyester films provide energy savings by reflecting light away from a window. In addition to reflecting light, the 8-mil thick, static-vinyl films have a very slow thermal transfer rate; it is like putting a thin layer of insulation on the glass.

Other important factors are looks and durability. The thin films have very thin ink coatings (6-7 microns) while the thicker static films have much thicker ink coatings (23-28 microns). Thicker coatings can create more vivid colors and are more resistant to scratches than the thin coatings on polyester films.

There are many similarities and even more differences between adhesive and adhesive-free decorative window films. If price is the only consideration, adhesive films would be the solution. But if looks, durability, ease of application, energy savings, and time/labor saved are taken into account, adhesive-free static films are the best value.

The leading decorative window film brands are:

Adhesive-Free Static Films Wallpaper For Windows by EtchArt, LLC www.wallpaperforwindows.com

Adhesive films Gila window films website www.gilafilms.com <bio>Randy Walker is a retired professional window film installer.
