If you are someone who pays their credit card balance off in full each month, then you probably don't need to worry about grace periods. However, if you are someone who does not pay off your balance in full each month, then you need to know about the different types of grace periods and how they work. Here is some advice about how to understand grace periods and use them to your advantage.

What is a grace period?

A grace period is the time you will have before you start paying interest on your new credit card purchases. This period is usually between 20 and 25 days, after which you will pay interest on your purchases. If you pay your balance off in full each month, then on most cards you will never pay the interest because you are always clearing your debt in time. However, if you don't pay your balance in full then you need to make sure you get a card with the right grace period for you.

Typical grace periods

Most typical cards have a grace period that means you will pay nothing if you pay the bill each month in full. However, if you don't pay the whole bill then you will pay interest on your balance, including any new purchases that you make. This balance is calculated daily. If you pay your balance off most of the time but not always, then this sort of card will probably be fine for you.

Full grace periods

Although most cards offer a typical grace period, some cards offer a full grace period. This means that you will get the benefit of the 20-25 days without paying interest on new purchases even if you didn't pay your balance in full each month. These cards are generally more expensive but are great for those people who never pay off their balance in full each month.

No grace periods

Beware of cards that carry no grace periods. Although these cards are fine for people usually have a typical grace period card and don't pay their balance off, they can really hurt those who pay their balance off each month. If you pay off your balance in full you will still get charged interest, which means that you aren't getting the benefits you normally would get. If possible, avoid cards with no grace period.

Grace periods a factor

When choosing a card, you should look at the card's grace period as well as its interest and fees. Although other factors such as interest are very important, getting a card with a grace period to match your spending habits will reduce how much the card will cost you in the long-term. If you already have credit cards but are unsure of their grace periods, then check with your card issuer. Knowing the grace periods you currently have could help you to save yourself money by reducing the interest that you pay. <bio>Peter Kenny is a writer for creditcards-gb Please visit us at http://www.thriftyscot.co.uk/Banking-Savings/claim_back_any_unfair_bank_cha= rges.html and http://www.loansubmit.co.uk/ </bio>

If you've experienced symptoms exactly like those that may occur when you're expecting your period, but no period is present or ever arrives, it's most likely that you're having a "phantom" period.

Phantom periods are described as a period minus the menses. In other words, you may feel irritable, bloated, fatigued, experience headaches and cramps, but the presence of blood is non-existent. Most women notice phantom periods while they're experiencing perimenopause, the transitional period prior to menopause.

It's important to remember that menstruation has been a regular occurrence in your life for many years and, therefore, the transition into menopause can take several years, as well. During perimenopause it's not unusual to experience phantom periods, as well as several other symptoms, such as irregular or unpredictable periods, difficulty sleeping, irritability or depression, hot flashes and weight gain, especially around the mid-section.

If you've been experiencing phantom periods it's a good idea to talk with your health care provider to rule out the possibility of other health conditions that could be contributing to your symptoms. Once you're certain that you are indeed having phantom periods, there's no need for concern, as there are no known health risks to women who experience phantom periods.

Just as with normal periods, P.M.S. and menopause, many of the symptoms associated with phantom periods can be reduced and even eliminated by making some very simple lifestyle changes.

It's been well documented that regular exercise contributes to eliminating many physical and emotional symptoms experienced by women who are pre-menstrual, having phantom periods or noticing signs of perimenopause. Unfortunately, until women actually begin exercising and personally experience the positive results of physical fitness, most simply don't believe or understand just what a difference a healthier lifestyle can make.

Because of this, the majority of women would rather suffer the many symptoms of "feminine conditions" rather than invest a small amount of time and energy to ensure that they look and feel fantastic well into their 40's, 50's and beyond.

I encourage you to at least give physical fitness a trial run. If, after 60 days, you've not benefited and have decided this is not the solution for you, go ahead and discontinue exercising. You stand to lose absolutely nothing -- other than a few pounds and several inches from your body. I seriously doubt you'll discontinue, however, once you see for yourself just how much better you'll look and feel. Go ahead -- accept this challenge so that you may begin to look and feel better than you ever thought possible. <bio>Susan Megge is the founder of http://www.40isbeautiful.com, a website designed to assist women as they approach the years leading to menopause.
Credit card grace periods are the amount of time given by a creditor to the consumer to pay off a purchase before interest charges are applied.

Although the amount of time offered will vary from account to account, grace periods most often fall between 20 and 25 days. This is not always the case, and there are many occasions when there is no grace period.

Several common types of grace periods are:

Partial Grace Period

This type of grace period utilizes the average daily balance method of computing interest charges, and does include new purchases provisionally. If the previous billing cycle balance was not paid in full, then interest is applied to new purchases immediately and there is no grace period. If the consumer paid their balance in full during their previous billing cycle, then interest will not be applied to new purchases till the next billing cycle.

Full Grace Period

This grace period also utilizes the average daily balance method of computing interest, but it excludes new purchases. This is very important and it means that any new purchases made will not have finance charges applied until the billing cycle following the new purchase. This offers a full billing cycle grace period, and if the consumer pays the balance then no finance charges will be applied.

No Grace Period

A few credit cards have no grace period at all. These use the method of calculating finance charges known as Average Daily Balance that includes new purchases. This means that interest charges are applied at the moment of purchase, and will be figured into the daily average immediately. Even if you paid your previous balance in full, this interest is applied.

Cards with no grace period are not as common as the others, but pay close attention to the terms and conditions when you apply. Look for the terms "average daily balance including new purchases", and see if a date range is given for the application of interest.

All credit card applications have their grace periods clearly marked under the terms and conditions. You will usually find them under a heading called "Grace Period for Repayment of Balances for Purchases". The reason this is worded in this way is because there are no grace periods for cash advances. Interest is applied the very moment the cash advance is taken out. Balance transfers also have their own grace periods, if any, defined under their own heading.

To learn what the grace period is on your current credit card, the information can be found on the back of your monthly statement. This information is also found online on your creditor's website, but be careful that you are looking at the correct offer. If there is any doubt, call your credit card provider and ask. This is the best way to be sure.

Not all credit card grace periods are the same, and sometimes there is no grace period at all. This article will cover several of the most common grace periods available today. <bio>Jon Norwood is a managing partner of http://www.bankcardfinder.com, a site dedicated to providing helpful information that consumers need to compare credit cards and apply for credit card offers online. </bio>

While thinking about the symptoms of menopause, it is important for you to know and understand that these symptoms differ from women to women. Certain factors like difference in diet and nutrition, general health and health care, etc all affect the way women experience menopause.

The general physical symptoms of most women approaching or experiencing menopause include:

Longer menstrual periods

For a woman who usually has short menstrual periods of, say, 4 days, this can increase to more days. When this occurs, it could be one of the symptoms that she is approaching her menopause. When you notice that this is happening to you and you are approaching your late 40s, there is nothing to worry about. Simply know that this is a symptom of menopause.

Heavier menstrual flows

Some women also notice that their menstrual flows are now heavier than usual. If this happens to you and you are sure that nothing else is wrong with you physically, then know that you could be approaching your menopause, especially if the age is right. If the age is not right, then you are not approaching menopause.

Spotting

Spotting is the situation whereby little drops of blood comes out during the time when you are supposed to be menstruating. When this occurs, it could be a sign of menopause. First, check whether you could be pregnant or not. If not, and if it continues, then it could be a sign of menopause.

Menstrual periods irregularity

There is also the tendency that you will experience general menstrual periods irregularity when you are approaching menopause. When this happens and you know nothing is wrong with you health wise, then it is a symptom of menopause.

Lack of interest in sex

Lack of interest in sex for most women in menopause occurs partly because there is now less fun when having sex. This is because as menopause happens, the estrogen levels decline, thereby making the vaginal walls less elastic and thinner. This eventually leads to pain or discomfort during sex. To solve this problem, there is the need for sufficient vaginal lubrication for women who are experiencing menopause and still want to enjoy sex with their partners. <bio>By Bill Johnson menopause-relief-tips.info menopause-treatments-tips.info </bio>

Does the prospect of approaching menopause scare you? You really shouldn't be. It's vital to know that the signs vary from individual to individual. Factors like difference in diet and nutrition, general health and health care and so on, are the basic parameters that determine the way menopause manifest in women.

Below are the common physical symptoms noticed by most women who are either approaching or already experiencing menopause:

Longer menstrual periods: Women who normally have brief menstrual periods like four days can suddenly notice it increase to a week, and the occurrence of this could be a sign of approaching menopause.

Heavier menstrual flow: Women who are in their late 40's and who also notice that their menstrual flow is now heavier than is usual should also know that it's a sign of menopause-- but those who fall below this age bracket should realize it could be a health problem.

Spotting: The phenomenon by which blood come in trickles at a time when you are supposed to be menstruating is known as spotting, and it could be a sign of menopause when it occurs.

However, women must confirm they are not pregnant, if not and the situation continues then it is sure that the person is at the threshold of menopause.

Menstrual periods irregularity: A general tendency is that many women will also experience frequent irregular menstrual periods as they approach menopause.

Those who experience this and are sure they are healthy should be rest assured that it's a clear case of approaching menopause.

Lack of interest in sex: There is often no enthusiasm for sex in many women approaching menopause because the fun in having sex is simply not there again.

Scientists attribute this to declining estrogen level, which also makes the vagina wall lose its elasticity, and which ultimately leads to discomfort during sex. <bio>Bernie writes articles on a number of different topics.
Seasonale is a type of birth control pill that means that women only have 4 periods a year, rather than one each month. Some people feel that missing so many periods is unhealthy: others claim that it is actually very natural. What is the truth about this birth control?

Seasonale is an oral contraceptive that has two types of hormones in it: ethinyl estradiol, a synthetic estrogen, and levonorgestrel, a progestin (synthetic progesterone). This same combination of hormones can be found in many other pill formulations. The difference is that Seasonale has 84 active pills in a row, unlike normal pills, which only have 21 pills in a row. This means that you have your period only four times a year.

Seasonale is designed for women who are on birth control who are comfortable with skipping their periods. Women who are on birth control can already skip their periods by choosing not to take the placebo pills and simply going from the 21st day to the first day of a new pack. Seasonale is not that different. Some women wonder if Seasonale will leave them with more hormones in their bodies, and the answer is that Seasonale is a low-dose hormone pill with hormone levels comparable to or lower than most other oral contraceptives.

Especially during the first year of Seasonale, a woman might experience break-through bleeding. These could be as heavy as a period, or they could be lighter. They will become lighter until they disappear entirely. However, you cannot simply expect to take Seasonale and have only four periods a year immediately. Some women find that it is simply easier to take regular birth control, because then you know when you will get your period, and you won't be caught unexpectedly bleeding.

One argument for the safety of Seasonale is that suppressing your period is healthy. Before the advent of hormonal birth control, women spent much more time pregnant and nursing, and so had many fewer periods than the women of today have. Birth control pills act to trick the body that it is pregnant, and so prevent ovulation (the release of the egg).

Other critics are sceptical of the benefits of skipping your period. Dr. Susan Rako, in her book The Blessing of the Curse: No More Periods? writes that "Tampering with the hormonal climate of healthy menstruating women, including teenage girls whose lives stretch ahead for decades, for the purpose of doing away with their periods is, in a word, reckless."

Those who believe that getting your period every month claim that the body needs natural cleansing, and that menstruation offers this. Getting your period releases the uterine lining. Some people argue that it helps prevent certain types of cancer, such as cervical cancer; however, a purely causal link has yet to be made.

Whether or not Seasonale is more dangerous than other birth control pills remains to be seen. However, it does carry the same risks as other oral contraceptives. As with any other type of birth control pill, you have a higher risk of certain types of cancer, an increased risk of blood clots and stroke, and other risks as well. Ask your doctor to go over the full side effects of any medication before you use it. You should not take Seasonale and smoke.

Ultimately, the decision lies with you and your doctor to try Seasonale. Do you find your periods painful, irksome, and frustrating? Or do you like the monthly reassurance that you're not pregnant? Consider your lifestyle and what suits you best before deciding to switch methods of contraception. <bio>Lilith Mill is the editor of http://www.theguideto-birthcontrol.com .
Menopause is often cryptically referred to as "the change of life." But as lovely as this sounds, it doesn't tell anyone a whole lot about menopause. After all, there are plenty of "changes to live" experienced by men and women of all ages that has nothing to do with menopause.

Menopause is something every woman with all her reproductive organs eventually experiences. Menopause is a natural part of the biological process. It is not a disease or illness although some menopause side effects can be unpleasant.

Some doctors claim that menopause is a process that can start in a woman in her 30s and last as late as her 60s. But menopause occurs in most women between the ages of 45 and 55. Menopause is officially the full stopping of menstrual periods for at least 12 months in a row.

Some of the signs and symptoms of menopause include the obvious, irregular periods. Unpredictability of periods is one of the first signs of menopause. Menstrual periods can suddenly vary between gradually getting lighter, then heavier, and then lighter again.

Another sign of menopause is decreased fertility. A menopausal woman does not ovulate and cannot get pregnant. But women in the menopause transition should still be cautious. Pregnancy in a woman who hasn't completed menopause can still happen, especially if it's only been a few months since her periods stopped. Remember, full menopause doesn't occur until a woman's menstrual periods have stopped for at least 12 months.

Menopause is caused by a woman's estrogen levels decreasing. So a woman in menopause doesn't produce enough estrogen to keep the vagina and urethra well lubricated. So menopause causes the vagina and urethra to become less elastic and drier, causing those areas to become itchier and more at risk for infections. Sex can also be more uncomfortable for women in menopause.

The drops in estrogen levels during menopause can also cause what's called hot flashes. Hot flashes are often the butt of jokes, but can be quite bad for some women experiencing menopause. Hot flashes in menopause last at least 30 seconds to up to several minutes. They're characterized by a flushed face and red blotches on chest, neck and arms. They can happen any time during the day or night. Other symptoms and signs of menopause include an inability to sleep as well as a modest - usually five-pound - weight gain. Adult acne can get worse during menopause. Plus with decreased estrogen levels in menopause, the small amounts of testosterone every female produces takes over. Because of this, sometimes women in menopause can get coarse facial hair and coarse hair on the chest and stomach.

Menopause is a natural life transition. But sometimes complications in the process of menopause occur. For example, if a woman knows for sure she's in menopause (that is she hasn't had a period for at least 12 months in a row), and she's bleeding from her vagina, she should go see a doctor.

If a woman thinks she's in menopause, but isn't sure, she can always go to a doctor. Depending on the situation, a doctor might take a blood test to determine menopause. In this case, a blood sample is usually tested for the level of estrogen and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). During menopause FSH levels increase as estrogen levels decrease. So higher levels of FSH and lower levels of estrogen will show a woman has gone into menopause. <bio>Menopause Hub is an information site that contains articles, a directory and other Menopause Resources.
Endemetriosis is a disease that affects around 89 million women worldwide. When you have the disease, the tissue that lines your uterus begins to grow on the outside of your uterus and can spread to other parts of your body. In very extreme and rare cases, the endemetriosis can spread to the skin, lungs, diaphragm and brain. Women who have endemetriosis will still have periods, but internal bleeding, tissue shedding and degenerated blood will go along with it. As a result, scar tissue may form and there is also a lot of pain involved. Depending on how serious the endemetriosis is, there may be interference with normal bladder and bowel functions.

The most common symptom of endemetriosis is severe and recurring pain. There are four stages of endemetriosis (numbered one through four) and the level of pain is not indicative of the stage of the disease. Many women who have the condition also have trouble conceiving a baby, as it can lead to fallopian tube obstruction. Other symptoms can include painful sex, heavy menstrual periods, painful urination or bowel movements, chronic pain in the abdomen, back or pelvic area and spotting between periods. Endemetriosis can affect any woman of any age, regardless of whether or not she has had children. It is estimated that anywhere from 5 to 20 percent of women of reproductive age are suffering with the disease.

Endemetriosis has no cure, but there are several different ways to treat the symptoms. Many women choose to treat the infertility and subfertility aspects of the disease, as it has been discussed (though not quite proven) that having a baby can decrease the chances of the endemetriosis coming back. Other women choose to treat the pain with prescription narcotics, while some seek natural pain treatments. Depending on the severity of the condition, some women are forced to undergo a hysterectomy. <bio>For more information on Endemetriosis, visit the Womens Health Forum at http://www.WomensHealthForum.org/ today.
I have a friend that has to stay indoors, specifically in her bed during the first day of her period every single month. The pain she experiences and the fact that she cannot move without anguish have caused a number of problem in her social and business life over the years. But my friend is not alone. In fact, according to researchers, it is estimated that between 50 and 70 percent of women endure some degree of period pain and cramping. Of those women, approximately ten percent experience contractions of such extreme levels that are one and a half times more powerful than labor pains. This is a pretty bad deal, right?

Most women, from the time they were teenagers to the time their period stops, have to encounter every single month a number of symptoms and overcome pain associated with the time their periods come. But the unfortunate thing is that for some women the pain can be so debilitating that they are forced to take time off work, just like my friend, or can only get through their periods by dosing themselves with painkillers. Everyone remembers from early childhood that pain is normally considered to be a message produced by the human body in order to signal that something is wrong and that an investigation should follow to remedy the uncomfortable situation. However, painful periods are viewed somewhat differently by the medical profession and a lot of women, who complain of period pains, are advised to take a painkiller and endure the pain until their periods are over. But this should not be the case. Every individual has a different pain threshold and thus, it is important for women that suffer during their monthly periods to investigate their specific case.

Every one of us has a different pain threshold, so it is impossible to imagine what another person might be experiencing while in pain. Only the one enduring such a situation knows whether or not period pains are unacceptably high and if the pain is affecting the quality of her life. If this is the case, then it is time to do something about it. Visiting a specialized doctor, performing a number of tests and taking some kind of medicine, can be some of the first tactics a woman suffering from dysmenorrhoea can perform. But, it is important during those medical sessions to explain and describe the symptoms, their duration and frequency. Some of the most common symptoms women have reported during their periods are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, fainting, dizziness, headaches, exhaustion and lethargy. In addition, it is important to know that pain varies from case to case and women might experience a constant low back ache like a dull ache, which is called andquot;congestive dysmenorrhoeaandquot; and/or cramping pains like contractions, which are named andquot;spasmodic dysmenorrhoea.andquot;

However, period pains can be unusual and there may actually be nothing medically wrong with the suffering woman. These pains are considered simply an abnormal functioning of the woman's body around the time of a period. Since this is the simpler and most common explanation, women tend to think that a painkiller will bring balance back into their lives, as long as they are able to get rid of the pain and prevent it from returning. But this is just a temporary solution. The results can last longer and the situation improved considerably, if women consult an expert and then follow a healthy lifestyle that will treat the condition and not simply mask the pain or ruin their cycle. <bio>Kadence Buchanan writes articles for http://forahealthywoman.com/ - In addition, Kadence also writes articles for http://iwomensworld.net/ and http://thenursingcenter.com/ </bio>

Several physical, medical, psychiatric or external factors cause disruption in sleep. Sleeping disorders are a common problem among people all over the world. There can be different types of sleeping disorders and the symptoms and causes may vary according to the types. Sleeping disorder usually occur due to stress, anxiety, grief, dependencies like alcoholism and various external environmental factors. Many people can experience sleeping disorders due to food sensitivity, which causes disruption while sleeping.

The state of your health can also affect your sleeping. Mood swings, chronic diseases, depression, pain and alcoholism can all cause insomnia. Many women have sleeping disorders due to menstruation-related problems, with some women reporting insomnia during their menstrual periods. Pregnancy is also a common cause of sleeping disorders in women.

Sleeping disorders can be classified into four general categories. They are dyssomnias, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/parasomnias" rel="tag">parasomnias, medical or psychiatric problems, and proposed disorders.

Dyssomnia happens because of the interruption to the body's natural resting. It can be caused by external factors or due to environmental factors.

Parasomnia is a sleeping disorder that is caused by difficulties with arousal or sleeping stage changeover. It is a type of sleeping disorders where bedwetting, teeth grinding, night terrors, and sleep talking or walking can disturb sleep. Medical or psychiatric problems, which disturb sleep tend to come from alcoholism, ulcers, asthma and anxiety.

Then there are proposed disorders, which are rest-related disturbances. The time required by people to take rest varies from individual to individual. Some might require longer periods or shorter periods. But if the total rest periods are unusual in length then it causes a sleeping disorder.

There are also less serious sleeping disorders. Many people suffer with excessive night sweating without having fever. Usually you'll wake up with your pj's and sheets drenched in sweat. During sleep there can be fidgety or twitchy movements of limbs. Even though this is not a serious problem, it can cause disturbed sleep. Nightmares and vivid dreams can also disturb your sleep.

If you detect any of these symptoms then it is important you seek treatment. Sleep is such a vital component of good health that you should treat any prolonged sleep disorders as warranting attention. <bio>Kathryn Whittaker has an interest in Health related topics.
Sales slumps, quiet periods, business lulls, call them what you will, but they can still be a serious threat to your business, and in some cases will even bring the business down completely. There are ways to overcome these sales slumps, but they may mean taking some time during your busier periods to prepare for them. We have compiled our 5 quick tips to help you beat sales slumps and profit all year round with your business.

1) Build a mailing list. Online or offline, all business owners should be building a list not only of their customers, but also people who may be interested in their products or services. it's obvious that your customers already know you, and trust you, and that they buy what you sell, but there are other people too who may be interested but haven't bought from you yet. Online you can add a subscription form to your website, and capture emails and even mailing addresses of your potential customers who didn't buy. Offline, offer something free which interested parties can get by giving you their mailing address. Contacting your customers and other interested people during your quiet periods can give you sales when your business most needs them.

2) Have a sale. Having a big discount sale will bring in customers, and while they are there you can offer an upsell. If you sell a lower cost item at a discount for your sale promotion, it will bring in people for you to offer higher ticket items. Even small discounts can attract people to your business.

3) Cross promote with other businesses. Quite often you can find another business with products which will complement yours, and are a natural fit for cross promoting each other. Search out these other businesses and trade with them for advertising space, or referrals. If you sell yoga mats, then find yoga training classes, offer the training school attendees a discount on mats, and/or the trainers a small incentive for selling the mats for you. Maybe get them to hand out coupons to their trainees which enables you to track the sale back to them, and give their clients the discount. You can do the same for them, when someone buys a mat they may need training, and you could get the incentive fees for referring to the school in the same way.

4) Offer something new. During the slow periods, it can help to offer something new, a new products or service. Don't always throw out new products in the busy periods, save them to entice people to your business during the sales slump periods. New products and services hold a mystery, and demand attention, so offering them when it's slow is a great way to bring back people with the curiosity factor. It's also a good way to add another upsell opportunity, see tip 2.

5) Use the Quiet Period Wisely. OK this may not bring in extra money right away, but while your business is quiet you can take the time to make plans. You also have time to investigate new products or services to your business, and to plan new ways to promote your business. The sales slump may be a great time to do some re-organisation, and to reflect on the ways to improve your service, or products.

Whatever time of year your sales slump arrives, you don't have to sit back and accept it. Get up, and get busy, there's a whole heap of things you can do to increase your business anytime of the year, just take some action, and turn those slumps into peaks. <bio>Douglas Titchmarsh writes a newsletter available from http://www.thediscountebookstore.com/blog and was a contributor to the helpful ebook, andquot; How To Beat The Sales Slump Blues, And Boost Your Incomeandquot; available at http://www.cashinonline.info/recommends/beatsalesslumps.php </bio>

Credit cards are a valuable tool in today's society, and have many benefits including improved cash flow and buyer security. However, credit cards have dangers too, and if they are used badly or you are unaware of the potential problems, you could end up paying out a lot of money and getting into debt. Here are some of the hidden dangers of credit cards, and how you can avoid them:

Default penalties

If you make a late payment on any bills at all, it could mean your interest rate and credit limit are affected. Even if your payment history is perfect on your credit card, late payments on other forms of credit or bills can give the credit card company an excuse to charge higher rates. To avoid this, make sure you try and pay all bills on time.

Short grace periods

Many cards used to have grace periods, meaning the period which your transactions don't gather interest, of around 30 days. Now these grace periods are getting smaller, with many companies only offering grace periods of 20 or even no period at all. This means your balance will start accruing interest as soon as you buy something, and so you will still pay interest even if you pay the bill back at the end of the month in full. Late payment fees

If you are even 1 day late with payment of your bill, then you will incur hefty late fees, which are usually around £20-35. If you pay late more than once or twice then your interest rate can also go up. Make sure that you send payment well in advance so that your payment will always arrive on time.

Over-limit fees

Another high cost you can occur are over limit fees. If you buy something and you are near the edge of your credit limit, interest payments could push you over your limit. Going even a few pence over your limit will cost you around £20-30. These fees can soon add up. For example, if you are late with payment and the charge puts you over your limit, then you get another charge. If you are late a few times and go over your limit, you could end up spending hundreds of pounds just on fees. Make sure you know the cost of late payment and over-limit fees, and try to stay well under your limit if possible.

Mandatory arbitration

Mandatory arbitration is one thing you should look out for when you sign a credit card agreement. This clause means that if anything goes wrong and you feel the card company has acted badly, you cannot take them to court. By signing the agreement you have agreed that all matters will be settled by arbitration. This gives credit card companies the chance to act badly and not have to go to court over it. If this clause is included, make sure you think about the consequences of signing.

Although there are hidden dangers, if you are aware of them and use your card wisely then you will not incur hefty charges and will find your card extremely useful. <bio>Peter Kenny is a writer for creditcards-gb For additional articles and an extensive resource for everything about credit cards, please visit us at http://www.creditcards-gb.co.uk and http://www.thriftyscot.co.uk/Credit-Cards/ </bio>

When applying for a home equity loan, homeowners have several options. Usually, loan applicants select loan packages that offer affordability, which generally consists of low monthly payments. For this reason, adjustable rate home equity loans are popular because they offer low initial rates. Homeowners may also choose an interest-only home equity loan because they offer similar low rates.

What is an Interest-Only Home Equity Loan?

Second mortgages or home equity lines of credits are types of home equity loans. Both options pledge your home as collateral. Ordinarily, home equity loans have fixed terms and interest rates. Because of low rates, these loans are more ideal than credit cards.

Interest-only home equity loans offer the same benefits. The only difference is that homeowners are allowed to make interest-only periods for a specified time frame. During this period, the monthly payments are considerably lower. Interest-only periods vary. The average length is usually one to seven years. However, some lenders will offer interest-only periods up to ten years.

Advantages of Interest-Only Home Equity Loans

If borrowing a small amount of money and selecting a short interest-only period, these loans may not present future risks. In some instances, homeowners who intend on selling their property will apply for an interest-only home equity loan, use the money to improve the property, which boosts the value, and then re-sell. In this instance, interest-only home equity loans are beneficial.

Disadvantages of Interest-Only Home Equity Loans

Many homeowners are attracted to interest-only home equity loans because of low monthly payments. Yet, it is vital to consider the pros and cons before selecting this option. Eventually, homeowners will have to begin paying the principle balance. If opting for an interest-only home equity loan option, it's better to select a shorter period, perhaps one or two years.

Those who choose a longer interest-only period may be hit with significantly higher monthly payments. If this happens, affording the payments may prove challenging.

Of course, homeowners also have the option of refinancing for a standard fixed home equity loan at the conclusion of the interest-only period. <bio>Visit http://www.homeequitywise.com for more information on an Interest Only Home Equity Loan. </bio>

</bio>

Over the years, there have been countless numbers of people getting exercise with the use of weights and weight machines in an effort to increase strength and muscle size. They know that training with resistance is the only way to accomplish this goal.

All too often however, after a certain period of time, their progress seems to come to a halt. Suddenly they find that they can't add any more weight to their exercises, even by 1 or 2 pounds without their repetitions going down.

Often when this plateau is reached, it is just assumed that they have reached their maximum ability in strength and from there on out they perpetually continue to do the same exercise routines using the same weights and the same amount of repetitions.

Well this plateau not only can be overcome, it can be shattered! The first step is to understand why this plateau occurs. When you exercise with resistance and progress by adding small amounts of weight each week to each exercise, at some point (usually between 3 to 6 weeks), you will reach a point of approaching overtraining.

At this point your muscles simply can not progress because they need a period of rest for full recovery. This is where intensity cycling comes in. Once that plateau is reached, you need to take one full week off and not exercise with weights at all. After your week off, reduce the weights used for each exercise, and keep the repetitions the same as you were using so you will not reach fatigue.

This workout should be done for around 2 weeks, then start progressing back to where you were when you hit your plateau. You should take about 1 to 2 weeks to get back to using the weights you were using for each exercise when you hit your plateau after the 2 weeks of light workouts.

If you take this 3 to 4 week cycle after your week off, the recovery time your muscles will have had will allow for you to progressively add more weight to each exercise than you were using before you hit your plateau.

Now keep in mind that this cycle will eventually come to another plateau, and you will once again have to take a week off, and then begin another 3 to 4 week recovery cycle. By using this method you can make good gains in your exercise routine that will really add up in the long run.

Now while this sounds like "periodization", there is actually one difference with "intensity cycling". Periodization is where you start with an exercise routine of light weights using high repetitions, then after 3 to 4 weeks you increase the weights used and reduce the amount of repetitions and even the rest periods between sets and the rest periods between exercise days. Essentially you continue to vary the weights, repetitions, routines, and rest periods every 3 to 4 weeks to prevent the muscles from adapting to one weight and repetition scheme.

With intensity cycling, whether you are on your all out cycle or your recovery cycle, you always stay with the same repetition schemes and also the same rest periods between sets and the same amount of rest days between exercise days. You also stay with the same type of routine throughout both cycles and the same routine for repeated cycles. Intensity cycling is excellent for muscle gains because if you exercise all out all the time, it will always end up in overtraining. <bio>Jim O'Neill gives you tons of valuable information on the subjects of weight loss, fitness, and nutrition to make it easy for you to live a healthy lifestyle.
We have all heard before =96 "The three most important things in real estate are location, location, location."

Now there is no doubt that location is important in real estate. But, over time, locations can and do change. What was once a great location may have significantly deteriorated. The investor must realize that many of the variables involved in making money in real estate can be changed or altered. You can upgrade your home, lower the asking price, give a buyer certain incentives, etc. But it is not easy to change or alter a location. Locations can and often do change over time. Needless to say, it is difficult to alter a location over the short term.

Well, sorry to cast doubt on the myth. I will tell you the most important thing in real estate (assuming you want to make money).

TIMING!

The real estate market has many cycles of boom and bust. While it is true that real estate has historically gone up 5% annually over the long term, there are often short periods of substantial price increases followed by shorter term and less volatile periods of price decreases. This is then often followed by extended periods of flat to small increases. The key is to know when to buy and sell within the cycle.

Obviously, you want to buy during the flat period just prior to the next substantial price increase. The timing can be difficult, but if you study long enough you can spot some of the signs.

Let me give you an example of timing. I bought a piece of land in 2004 for $45,000. The gentleman I bought it from paid $28,000 for it back in 1986. In 2006, the land was appraised at $105,000. Leverage aside, I made an annualized return of over 50%, while his annualized return was approximately 3%. I hate to tell you this, but it was the same location and we made substantially different returns on our money.

Was the reason I did so well because I studied and analyzed the market and knew that prices would substantially increase, or was it just luck?

The reality is that it was probably a combination of both. You need to do your own research, but it certainly helps to have a little luck on your side.

So remember, the old adage is really true =96 "timing is everything." <bio>Want to make money in real estate in up and down markets - no matter your property location?
Dysmenorrhoea is the medical terminology used to describe intense pain associated with the female menstrual cycle (period). There are two types of dysmenorrhoea, namely, primary and secondary dysmenorrhoea. Primary dysmenorrhoea, which affects teens and young adult females, is used to describe the pain that most women experience with their monthly cycles. This pain is usually soothed with the use of over the counter drugs or a heating pad. On the other hand, secondary dysmenorrhoea has an underlying cause, and tends to show up later in a woman's reproductive cycle. Nearly 80 percent of all women experience some type of dysmenorrhoea related pain at some point in their lives.

What causes dysmenorrhoea (period pain)?

The cause of dysmenorrhoea lies in the rhythm of the menstrual cycle itself. Every month the woman creates a lining that is shed when the unfertilized ovum (egg) leaves the fallopian tubes. The 28-30 day cycle usually ends with the shedding of this lining, inducing bleeding. To expel this lining, i.e. the blood, the uterus has to contract. The contractions are caused by the release of the body's prostaglandins and can be painful, especially if the uterus tilts backward instead of forward. Stress and inactivity may also increase period pain. In some secondary dysmenorrhoea cases, endometriosis, fibroid tumors or an inflammation of the fallopian tubes can contribute to intense pain.

What are the symptoms of dysmenorrhoea (painful periods)?

Just prior to, or at the very beginning of a woman's period, she may experience cramps in her lower back and abdomen. This pain can be intermittent or constant. In some cases, it can extend to the lower back and legs. The pain can be accompanied by intense nausea, headache, diarrhea or constipation. In extreme cases, vomiting can occur. Some women with period pain pass blood clots, which can contribute to painful symptoms. These symptoms can last between 24-36 hours with up to 15% of women having dysmenorrhoea severe enough to interfere with their daily activities. This may mean missing school, college or work, and decreased participation in social or sporting activities.

Will Painwave X4000 help with dysmenorrhoea (painful periods)?

Yes it can! Painwave X4000 is a revolutionary new way to manage pain that is both non-invasive and drug free. Because it doesn't have to be taken internally, there are virtually no side effects, like drowsiness or nausea, to contend with. So, just how does it work? Simple. Painwave X4000 works in conjunction with the body's own bioelectromagnetic ecosystem. By moving the unit over the pain-inflicted area, the Painwave X4000 can get rid of any and all discomfort associated with dysmenorrhoea (painful periods). As a side benefit, the unit may also stimulate cell activity, lymphatic movements and improve blood circulation. This can help reduce pain, ultimately eliminating it for good.

Note: This article is an informative guide that should only be used for gathering information regarding dysmenorrhoea (painful periods), not to perform a self-diagnosis.
Insomnia can cause such agony as you fight night after night for just one full night's sleep.

There are so many times in which even trying to change your nightly sleep habits or even making adjustments to your sleeping environment just don't seem to have the same successful affect when it comes to treating or curing insomnia.

In fact there are times when it seems no matter what you have tried nothing works.

It is at this point when you might consider seeing your physician to discuss one of the many effective sleep aids or medications which are available on today's market to help with the insomnia battle.

With insomnia medication, just like any other medication, the key to successful use is to only use the medication as needed and exactly as prescribed.

When taken correctly and for short periods of time only, prescription medications have a very limited risk of leading to an addiction.

Because sleep medications are used commonly in the treatment of insomnia, following the directions and limiting their use to short periods of time only are critical to prevention of other problems.

It really doesn't matter whether you use a prescription from your physician or over-the-counter medications regardless there are numerous sleep medications available.

Sleep medications range in degrees of strength, from the ones you can buy without a prescription to the ones that can be highly addictive and require your prescriptions written order.

If you have found yourself either unable to fall asleep or unable to stay asleep throughout the night and it is impacting your daily life, you may be suffering from insomnia.

This is the perfect time to schedule a visit with your health care provider.

Insomnia must be a properly diagnosed as well as ultimately discovering the root cause of the insomnia before you can be properly treated.

For instance, sometimes insomnia may simply be a symptom of an even greater health conditions such as anxiety or depression. In this case the underlying condition must be treated first. With an appropriate treatment of the underlying anxiety or depression instead on the insomnia, you will begin to feel better more quickly.

After a complete review of your medical history and a thorough medical exam and your doctor has definitively diagnosed insomnia and it's the root cause for your inability to get to and stay asleep, your physician may elect to prescribe a hypnotic medication.

This medication is designed to help you to fall asleep and stay asleep for longer periods of time. Of course, this leads to deeper and more restorative quality sleep. And hypnotics are also designed so that they do not interfere with your daytime life.

Like most medication designed to treat insomnia, the hypnotics are intended to be taken only for short periods of time and work best when you slowly taper off the dosage instead of cutting them off all at once.

Of course you must work very closely with your physician before you stop any insomnia medication.

Insomnia is a challenging condition to manage and so you can relax a bit knowing that there are a variety of sleep aids and medications designed to remedy your insomnia and keep you from spending one more night counting sheep and praying for sleep that refuses to come. <bio>For more important information on getting a good night's sleep be sure to visit http://www.sleep-good.com where you will find advice and tips on sleep habits, insomnia, sleep apnea and more </bio>

Dear Adam:

I absolutely loved your book and videos!

[To read about what she's referring to, take a look at this: http://www.dogproblems.com/newsecretsvideos.htm ]

My dog is seven months-old. He hasn't destroyed anything in the house in several months. Is he old enough to be left alone, unsupervised?

Thanks, Kay

Dear Kay:

It's an issue of maturity.

At seven months, he's still too immature.

And he's still got his second teething phase to go through, which can be from 7 to 9 months of age.

I recommend waiting until the dog is between 1 and 1.5 years of age. If he's still a perfect gentleman, then start leaving him for short periods of time and gradually walk your way up to leaving him for longer periods.

My philosophy is: If you want the perfect dog, why take unnecessary risks? Because if you let him learn he can destroy something in the house and get away with it, then you've undone months of work.

But if you do it right the first time, he'll be a joy for the next 15 years. Which is not to say that he won't if he makes a mistake, but what's the point in rushing the process? The dog is still young.

In this case, it's a lot like a child. At 13 years old, a child MAY be mature enough to be left home alone for a weekend. But more than likely, you're asking for parties, sex, alcohol, poor decisions... you name it. So, you instinctively know to wait until the child is a little older and a little more mature. It's the same with dogs. <bio>Adam G.
For women in their thirties menopause is the last word they want to hear and the last thing they want to think about. No one wants to admit that they're at that stage of their life yet, even if it is just the "pre" menopause stage. It doesn't ever feel like it should be happening yet, especially when most people still have babies or small children at that age. And yet, you can tell your body doesn't feel 100% normal. You're not eating any differently but you started gaining wait, your breasts are sore, and your periods are becoming irregular. You're skin is dry and your sex drive just isn't what it used to be. You're irritable, tired, and getting headaches. So what's the deal, what is happening?

Pre-menopause is something that all women either know about or have at least heard about, but no one seems to have a name for it or be able to recognize it when it rears its ugly head. Millions of women are going through pre-menopause or have experienced some kind of symptoms, but don't think there's any possible way it's menopause because they're still in their early thirties.

Symptoms that come along with pre-menopause are basically the same as those that go with menopause: PMS, endometriosis, fibroids, tender and sore breasts, fatigue, irritability, depression, foggy thinking, sudden weight gain, having a hard time conceiving or carrying a pregnancy to full term, memory loss, migraine headaches, light or very heavy periods, spots, bleeding in between periods, and cold hands and feet. While it is a pretty long list, chances are you won't have every single symptom, but instead just a select few.

All of these symptoms are caused by hormone imbalances, mostly from having too much of the hormone estrogen and not enough of the hormone progesterone. These symptoms are not just scientific and medical; they also have a lot to do with and are more evident in women who are out of touch with their bodies and feelings. Basically, stress heightens the symptoms.

When women have the prescribed pre-menopausal symptoms doctors will usually administer estrogen supplements. Unfortunately, if estrogen doesn't clear up symptoms, doctors will often perform hysterectomy's or try drugs for depression such as Zoloft of Prozac unnecessarily. Other than getting pills, women can utilize a healthy diet and regular workout and exercise regimen to help with these early pre-menopause symptoms and an easier life transition.

Pre-menopause is the mixture of a body beginning to cross yet another age marker, and symptoms that every woman will notice around 10-15 years before actually going through menopause. It's kind of like a dress rehearsal for the big show. <bio>Kathryn Whittaker.
