The easiest way to acquire an email list for your ezine or email marketing is just to buy one. They're not too expensive, and they provide you with a long list of names and email addresses.

But if there is one thing I've learned as the owner of an ezine, it is that the easy road is not always the one that brings you the best results. The problem with buying an email list is that none of the people on that list know who you are. When they receive an email from you, most likely they will just delete it without bothering to open it.

That is why it is so beneficial to build your own opt-in email list. Yes, creating a list from scratch is the more difficult and time-consuming solution, but at least it is a solution. Email lists rarely bring the desired results, so the money you spend on them might as well be flushed down the toilet.

Email marketing and ezine distribution isn't about blasting a bunch of strangers with sales pitches and information they don't want and didn't ask for. If you really want to achieve results with your email list, you need to build your own.

Here is a list of questions you need to ask yourself when building your email list:

Who is your target audience and what do you have to offer them? What kind of relationship do you want with the recipients of your emailings? What method or methods will you use to collect email addresses? Web forms, registration or subscription forms, trade shows, telephone contacts and sales calls are all viable ways to get the email addresses of people who will be interested in what you have to offer.

Will your emails come in the form of ads, newsletters, deals and specials, company announcements and press releases, or discussion lists?

Will you handle the creative aspects of your mailings, such as copywriting and editing, or will you need a little help? Once you're ready to start building your list, use outside lists to help you get started. You can recruit opt-in list members by renting an opt-in list to send out an announcement. You could also try taking out an ad in a targeted email newsletter or discussion list <bio>Mohamed Rabea - Build Your Own Adsense Empire For Free. http://www.webempirelive.com </bio>

Have you experienced the frustration of sending a message to a friend only to find it bounced back to you? Your friend has probably changed their email address and forgotten to tell you about it. If it's someone you see at the pub or at work, or can contact by phone, you can just ask them to give you their new address. If email is the only contact you have, however, it becomes a lot more difficult to stay in touch.

The internet has brought us tremendous freedom of communication and competition between internet providers and email providers means that it's never been easier to run several email addresses or to change to a new address when you feel like it. Usually, you'll send out an email to let people know that you have a new email address, but it's not unusual for people to be missed off the list and lose your details.

So once you discover you can't contact your friend by email, what do you do? You can try mutual friends to see if they can pass the address on, or you can try reunion sites that help you to get in touch with old friends from school, college, work, the forces or any other groups that you might have belonged to. For that to work though, your friend has to be registered and there will usually be a subscription charge to pay before you can contact them.

Similarly, if you've recently changed your own email address, how do you make sure you've told everyone, or that you can catch people who try to get in touch after a few years of no contact?

The ideal solution is also on the internet: services that let you set up a single account for all your old email addresses. People can find you via your old details and you can be sent a message letting you know that someone's trying to get in touch with you. Whether you respond is up to you -- after all, there may be some people that you don't want to renew your friendship with. But for most people, online services like these help you to ensure that everyone who wants to get in touch with you can; or that you can find someone you thought you'd lost touch with for ever. <bio>Past Information specialises in services for finding friends via old phone and mobile numbers or old email addresses.
One of the most powerful techniques to build your online business is building an opt-in email list. Email is the most convenient way to contact people these days. Also if you are trying to promote a web site, then all of your prospective visitors should have access to email. To build an opt-in email list, you will have to obtain people's email addresses, which is not the easiest task to accomplish.

People are not too eager to give out their email addresses to just anyone. With spam at an all-time high, many people already receive many emails everyday that they do not want to receive. However if you give a person an incentive to give you their email address, then they will be more inclined to do so. Usually a nice gift, consisting of a product, a magazine subscription, an e-book, etc. is a nice incentive to get a person to give you their email address.

Another good way to build an opt-in email list is to create a series of emails like "7 Ways to Build an Opt-In Email List", and then send one email a day for a week. Then at the end of the week, you can send them an email that lets them know they have received a free subscription to your email list. After that you have two ways to allow them to accept or decline your invitation. You can tell them they are signed up for the newsletter, and give them the chance to opt-out, or you can tell them they have a chance to receive this email, and allow them to opt-in. Most of the time people will not opt-out of an email list, but they also might just send your email to the trash folder without reading it. With an opt-out email you will build a large email list, but the users might not be very responsive to your message. However, if the user has to opt-in to your email list, then you will receive fewer people on your list, but they will be more apt to listen to what you have to say. These users will be more likely to purchase your products as well! <bio>Jack Born is the creator of http://squeezepagemaker.com Squeeze Page Maker, a new push-button tool that creates unlimited squeeze pages at the push of a button, and nothing to download.
If you're interested in getting involved in email marketing, you may not know where to begin. You know that email marketing is really taking off and is being used by some of the most successful marketing gurus and business owners around. But, you've likely never thought about how it could work to impact your life and your business. Take a look at these tips on how to build your home based business lead email list and get started!

One of the best ways to draw people into your email list is to have a "Join My List" button on your website. People who are interested in you or your products and services will use the sign-up box to get on your list. You can easily have this done with the use of an email marketing service. Or, you can maintain it yourself. It just makes sense for you to use the list sign-up button option since most people who want information about you will visit or search for your website. It can help you make great business contacts.

Another way to get people on your email list is to simply ask your clients, customers, or potential customers for their email addresses and permission to send them email. You can do this over the phone, in person or via email. Tell them about what you plan to email them and that they could benefit from your email communications. If you are a retail store with a store-front, you may want to think about putting a sign-up book in your store for those who visit you physically. If your business is conducted on the Web only, you can always send a follow-up email when someone orders, to ask them if they would mind if you put them on your email list. If you happen to have employees, be sure to make it very clear that getting email addresses of clients or customers is a vital part of their job.

Networking is a large part of business success. When you have great contacts, good things could come your way. Therefore, when you meet people at networking events or trade shows, it is important that you tell them about your free newsletters or email-only correspondence. If you offer email-only sales, you may want to mention that as well. They may be able to use your services or they may know someone who can use your services. Either way, you'll be adding to your email list. The more people you add, the better your chances of business success are!

Remember, when you first begin your email marketing campaign, your list will be small. You have to really make it a habit of asking for email addresses in order for your list to grow. Any opportunity you have to make your email list grow and thrive, do it. Train your employees to be on the constant search for people interested in signing up for your email correspondence. Take advantage of all meetings and business conferences by gathering email addresses for your list. Do everything you can to ensure you are getting the most out of your email marketing. <bio>Next Level Enterprises, LLC is a successful Internet marketer working with top leaders in the home business and Internet marketing industry.
Are you wondering how spammers get your email address? There are a few tricks they have for getting your address and once you see them you will see how important it is to protect your 'real' address and only give it to family, friends, and work contacts.

Is your email address publicly readable on the internet somewhere? That is; do you have a website that your email address is on or have you posted it on forums? If you are not sure, then enter your email address in Google's search engine or MSN and see what pops up. If your email doesn't turn up, it doesn't mean you are totally off the hook, but you are better off than someone who's email address is plastered all over the net. Spammers set lose software programs that go out and harvest email addresses automatically. So if you ever do need to put your email address on the net be sure to do it in a way that foils the spammers such as 'email at domain dot com', instead of email@domain.com.This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it

If you sign up for mailing lists where your email address is publicly available, then use a throw away email address so if spam gets out of control you can always delete it and move on. Mailing lists and newsgroups are favorite places for spammers to harvest for email addresses.

Another way for spammers to get your email address is if you use it to register for freebie offers online. A common tactic it to offer a chance at a freebie in exchange for your email address. Your email address is then sold to spammers as a fresh target.

By signing up for free offers and such it is likely you also sign up for more email than you bargained for and even though you don't want it, it technically isn't spam. There may be small print at the bottom of the form you are filling out which states you will also receive offers from partners.

In the end, if you use your email address at all then there is a chance someone will get a hold of it that will spam you. The way to minimize your risk is to reserve a special email account for those people important to you and use another email address to sign up for freebies and mailing lists. <bio>Daniel Travers is a staff writer at http://www.computing-times.com and is an occasional contributor to several other websites, including http://www.gamesenthusiast.com. </bio>

Have you ever measured what response rate you get from your email campaigns? Didn't you notice that a small mailing list can give you a high response and a huge list can get a very, very low response rate? That is because it's not the number of emails on your list but the quality of the list that does really matter.

Although sending out magazines and newsletters to millions of addresses through bulk email software is free, you cannot afford to risk your fair name by offending people. Your email address lists should only contain those that signify they want to receive email from you. Otherwise, your unsolicited advertising will be classified as spam mail. Plus, the cleaner your list is, more profits you will get.

Here are some tips how to maintain your mailing list clean and up-to-date:

1. Verify your targeted email list for bad and undeliverable email addresses before you send to it. You can use email validation software to do a list check. You can just search the Internet for an email address verifier tool to choose the one that suits your needs best.

2. Exclude bad email addresses from your list.

3. Manage bounces thoroughly. Not all bounced emails should be deleted from your list. Delete hard bounces. Hard bounce is when recipient mail server rejects your email. Soft bounce is when your email accepted by recipient's mail server but bounced back because of reasons like mail box is full, your message is large than receiving mail server upper limit etc. Try to send the messages a few times to soft bounced email addresses before you delete them. There is chance that the message will be delivered after several attempts.

4. Use double opt-in subscription method. This way you can make sure that the email address is valid and that the subscriber really wants to receive mail from you.

5. Delete unsubscribers. Always provide an easy way to unsubscribe. Before sending an email campaign, do a search for people who unsubscribed and delete them from your database.

6. Provide an option for subscribers to change their email address. Some list management software or services provide a link to your subscriber details and lists he opted for. From there your subscribers can change their email addresses and update their profiles.

7. Don't buy email lists. Most email addresses on those lists are collected by website email extractors and belong to people who didn't hear about you and don't expect any mail from you.

8. Avoid spelling errors. If you manually import your subscribers from your old list manager to the new one or from your helpdesk to your mailing list manager etc, be careful to type the email addresses in the right way.

9. Try to avoid free email accounts. It's a little hard to do though because nowadays people often use a free email account like hotmail.com, yahoo.com although they have their own domains. This is because they don't want to reveal themselves or they might be afraid that the owner of the list might send junk or spam to them. <bio>Author is a technical expert associated with development of email marketing program: http://www.glocksoft.com/amlv/.
As any good web developer knows, a web developer is always worried about creating the best web site that they can. They work very hard with the client to decide exactly how they want their site to look, to function, and also how to make it run the most efficiently. These are all things that people need to think about when they are creating a web site, but sometimes we forget one of the most important things, how are we going to get our site on the internet?

No matter how great the web site you create is, it is meaningless if you do not get it out on the internet. So if you are going to get our web site on the internet, then you can either host it on a web server yourself, or get a web hosting company to host it for you. If you are a large company that has an IT staff to setup the infrastructure to host a web site, then this is probably the best idea, because you have more control over the things that happen.

However, most people that create web sites do not have the money or the time to setup such an infrastructure. These people will have to get a web hosting company to host their web site. Here are a few things to consider when you try to pick a web hosting company that is right for you:

Space -- Some web hosting companies offer more space than others. If you are going to create a large web site, or you are looking to expand a lot in the near future, then the amount of space offered is very important.

Email Addresses -- If your web site is going to give away email addresses, or you need extra email addresses for your users, then the amount of free email addresses that you are given might be very important.

Database Access -- Some web hosting companies offer the ability to use a MySQL or SQL Server database to store information or authenticate against. This can be a very important fact to help make your web site more secure, or more dynamic. <bio>Get your web hosting at http://www.hostgadget.com </bio>

Email marketing is comprised of two major parts: the email itself and the email marketing list (also known as the contact list). This list is the very core of every email marketing campaign, as well as the reason why you are email marketing at all. Without this list of people, all who should have given you permission to email them, you have no reason whatsoever to indulge in email marketing to promote your business, goods or services. Here are three questions most email marketers must ask when they're just starting out:

Where can I get my email list?

Before I go into where you can get your list, it's better to discuss where you shouldn't get your list first. Buying, renting or scraping email addresses off the Internet are all terrible ideas. Why? Because those people haven't given you permission to email them. The quickest way to lampoon your email marketing campaign is to obtain a list that includes wrong email addresses and people who haven't given you permission. This results in spam complaints that will ultimately ruin your email marketing reputation.

There are many creative, effective ways to build an email list. Your first shot is putting a ListBuilder (also known as a sign-up box) on every single page of your Website. Site visitors can use this box to enter info and subscribe your email or newsletter. You can also build subscriptions by providing email address cards at your shop, tradeshows and other venues. If you are creative and ambitious about growing a permission-based email list, you can do these things and you'll see your list grow.

What should I do with that list once I have it?

Your next step is to segment your list, if possible. Try and divide up the names and email addresses on that list by product likes and dislikes, geographical location and other data. By doing this, you're dividing your list up and making it more targeted. Sending an email that canvasses everyone on your list may work, but you'll most likely have better luck sending different emails that promote the products certain customers have already show they're interested in.

How do I choose an email marketing service?

If you're not sure where to start, go online and find which service you like best. The best email marketing services have sophisticated list management systems that not only let you segment your list and upload it to the system, but store your lists online and access them 24/7. The advantage of a Web-based email marketing suite is that you can pay a low monthly fee to use the service and you can access it anywhere in the world, as long as you have Internet access. The best email marketing services also include reporting suites that can tell, in real time, just how successful your email marketing campaigns are with recipients.

As an email marketer, remember that email marketing requires lots of patience, planning and creativity. However, if you build a great list and manage it accordingly, you'll gain more sales and respect from your email or newsletter recipients. <bio>Gary San is a best practices activist and advocate for Benchmark Email ( http://www.benchmarkemail.com/email-marketing.aspx ), a leading Web and permission-based email marketing service. </bio>

Internet marketing can be a challenge to many internet marketing business owners who want to do internet marketing in a legal and appropriate way. Many spammers send out internet marketing through the use of email mailings, but this type of internet marketing is not considered legal unless the internet marketing audience has consented to let you send internet marketing materials to them through email.

Because email is such a valuable tool in the internet marketing world, those interested in internet marketing do not want to completely throw away the idea of internet marketing through email. However, there are some internet marketing safety precautions you should take if you plan on utilizing email for internet marketing. This will help avoid illegal internet marketing activity on your part and also annoyance on the part of your internet marketing audience.

One internet marketing tool that can be used for internet marketing through email is requiring a double confirmation of internet marketing mailing list addresses. In other words, when you plan to use email internet marketing, you allow anyone in your internet marketing audience who is interested to sign up with their email address. A good rule of thumb for internet marketing is to have these internet marketing email addresses confirmed a second time by the intent marketing audience. This assures you that your internet marketing audience did indeed sign up for internet marketing emails that they are interested in. It helps prevent illegal internet marketing spam emails or internet marketing problems with your internet marketing audience due to misunderstanding or mistakes.

There are also certain internet marketing words which should be avoided if possible, when you are sending out internet marketing emails to your internet marketing audience. For example, if your internet marketing email contains the word "free" a certain number of times, that internet marketing email may be dumped into the spam folders of your internet marketing audience. Unfortunately, internet marketing through email has changed drastically because of the irresponsible and unethical practices of many internet marketing techniques. However, there are still ways that internet marketing through email can be effective and supported by your internet marketing audience. <bio>Laurie Raphael operates a website promoting multiple streams of residual income.
The internet has changed the world. Internet access has put so many conveniences at our fingertips. With the click of a mouse one can buy a range of different products. This has given rise to online marketing. There is a huge market online waiting to be tapped. There are a number of ways to tap this market. One cheap and efficient way of doing this is through bulk email lists. Always remember to verify bulk email lists.

Errors In Bulk Email Lists

Bulk email lists are a list of a number of potential clients which is stored somewhere. Sometimes these bulk email lists are correct and sometimes there are errors in the email addresses. For example digger!yummy.com or digger@yummy.con are two instances of errors in writing the email address. Some of these erroneous addresses get added to our lists as well. In such instances mailings to there addresses "bounce."

Types Of Email Bounces

There are two types of email bounces.

The hard bounce -- These are messages that can never be delivered. Sometimes there is an input error when the subscriber is opting into your list. Messages to such email boxes never reach. Sometimes the subscriber is no longer using the email address with which they opted into your list.

The soft bounce -- These are messages that can be delivered at a later time. They are caused by the recipient's mailbox being full.

It is a good idea to unsubscribe hard and soft bounces from the mailing list after a set number of bounces. It is a good idea to keep the toleration limit for hard bounces as two and soft bounces as eight. After this number of bounces, you must clean up the addresses that are bouncing.

There are reasons that bouncing emails must be deleted. If they are not, you waste a lot of time going through emails that are bounces. It is a waste of valuable time.

Another reason is that you can get into real trouble if not deleting "bounce" emails. This is one way to identify spammers. If repeatedly sending messages to a "dead" email id, you could have a problem with the ISP that is receiving those messages. These are the reasons that it is important to verify bulk email lists.

Managing Subscribe And Unsubscribe Requests

It is essential to manage all unsubscribe as well as subscribe requests. This is especially important if your users are not automatically subscribed or unsubscribed. If unsubscribe requests are not immediately dealt with your mail may be treated as spam. You may find yourself in trouble with your ISP. On the other hand, all subscribe requests are potential customers and must be added to your mailing list immediately. Verify bulk email lists regularly for this reason.

Remove Duplicated Addresses

Remove addresses that have been inadvertently duplicated. Doing this ensures that your mails are not sent to the same prospect twice. This can be very irritating for a prospect.

Segment Your Subscribers

When you verify bulk email lists remember to segment your subscribers. Personalize your message to each one of them. You will be surprised at the difference in response using this method.

Email marketing is the wave of the future. When dealing with the various issues involved in it, remember to stay current by verifying bulk email lists. Stay on top! <bio>Author is a technical expert associated with development of the email verifier program.
You probably know that Spam is unsolicited and undesired e-mail message. Spammers are the people who send Spam. Spam is a serious problem. It is important today as never before because almost every other email message we receive is Spam. So, the question arises how spammers get your email address and why they send you Spam. Spammers can obtain your email address in three ways.

One way is to guess a mailbox name for a publicly listed domain name. Many organizations have the email addresses where the first part of the email address is a general word such as "info", "sales", "accounts", "support", etc. People often use the email addresses beginning with their first name, for example, John, Sandra, Julia. Spammers simply put the first names before the @ symbol followed by a domain name, and get possible email addresses.

Secondly, spammers can gather email addresses from the Internet. They use programs that search web pages looking for email addresses. If there is your contact email address in your web site, or if the email address is embedded into your profile, your email address will be obtained by spammers. The third way to get your email address is to buy email lists. Some dishonest companies can make money by selling the customer's information to spammers. Spammers can also bribe unscrupulous employees of companies to get a copy of the email list.

Once spammers got a list of the victims' email addresses, they start spamming. They do it to make money. In general, there are two kinds of spam messages:

1.Offering trashy and fraudulent goods or services (e.g. Viagra, Cialis, medications, fake Rolexes, software programs, etc.)

2.Stock scams working on "Pump and dump" schemes. Spammers encourage you to invest in a particular company's stock, in order to quickly inflate its value and enable the spammers to make a fast profit.

By sending their undesired messages spammers have for an object to contact thousands or even millions people in the hope to hit one or a few dolts who actually will buy their crappy products. No dolts, no spam. But out of a million people, you will always find one or two.

Most of the Internet protocols that computers use to talk to each other are anonymous. Your email server thinks that any email server connecting to it over the Internet is giving its name properly and that the email it sends is legitimate. Spammers abuse this trust relationship to send you their garbage. The Internet protocols cannot be changed in a moment so we need another solution to the problem of spam.

Legislative attempts produced no effect. It's not easy to track a spammer located in USA sending spam using a mail server from Russia to mailboxes in Australia. Spammers are also known to use Trojans to hijack one's computer and make that person send spam on behalf of the spammer. The "victim" doesn't even guess about it. These people would be caught up in any comprehensive Spam legislation.

However that may be you can take some measures to protect your inbox against spam flow by yourself. There is a wide choice of anti-spam products available on the Internet. You only have to choose the right one to block Spam before it reaches your inbox. There is no guarantee that you will get absolutely no Spam but at least you will reduce its amount. <bio>Author is a technical expert associated with development of computer software like AATools, G-Lock EasyMail, Spam Blocker http://www.glocksoft.com/sc/ More information can be found at Anti Spam Filter Resources http://www.glocksoft.net/sc/ </bio>

List Building: Is Your Email Within The Law?

It's been almost three and a half years since the U. S. CAN-SPAM act went into effect, and though it didn't help to stem the flow of spam into our inboxes every day, you still have to follow the law.

"I'm just a one-person operation," you may be thinking. But even so, even if you're just starting out with list building, you have to remember that your'e still liable. One spam complaint could shut you down or worse. Though you're probably protected if you use an online autoresponder service, if you're handling mail on your own, there are some things you need to be aware of.

Here are some important parts of the law:

* No false or misleading email headers. The "To" and "From" lines must be accurate, and you must provide accurate routing information. That should include the location of your domain and your proper email address, and it must identify the person sending the email.

* No misleading subject lines. For instance, you can't write to people saying the message is from their doctor when you're trying to sell them Viagra. It happens all the time. Those messages are illegal.

* People must be given a way to opt out of the list, and provide a return email address. When someone does opt out, you have to honor their request.

Whatever opt out method you choose, it must be active for 30 days, at least. You only have 10 business days to get people who have requested to be removed off the list.

* You have to identify your message as an advertisement and include your snail mail address, too.

Those are the general rules. But there are a couple of other things to consider. Never, ever buy lists of email addresses. Harvesting of addresses is also illegal, so don't do it. Set up a proper list building page that sends your subscribers' names and email addresses to an autoresponder that automatically confirms subscriptions. This "double opt-in" process is just safer. Nothing in the law says you have to do this, but it just makes things safer.

Always include a link in your email where people can opt out, and show that's what it's for. Usually, when you use an online autoresponder service, this is handled for you. Just be sure. And if you're using your own software, be sure you're in compliance. If you're not and you're accused of spamming, you could receive an $11,000 fine and/or be sent to prison. Is it worth it?

Definitely not. <bio>Tellman Knudson is CEO of http://OvercomeEverything.com.
The Internet is full of different web hosting companies these days. There are many different choices to help you get your site on the web. However all of these different web hosting companies offer a variety of different services. How are you ever going to choose which company is right for your web site? The easiest way to choose between the different web hosting companies is to look at the different services they offer and choose which one is the best fit for your web site.

Most web hosting companies offer basically the same types of services, but some companies offer better quality services than others. One of the most important services to look for when choosing a web hosting company is the amount of space they will give you. If you plan on creating a very large web site, then you need to make sure that the web hosting company you choose gives plenty of storage so that your web site has room to grow. Also many web hosting companies offer free email accounts when you host your web site with them. This can be a great feature if you plan on giving out email addresses on your web site, or you need email addresses for employees in your company. However if you do not need many email addresses, then this is not a great service for you.

I believe one of the most important services that can set a web hosting company apart from other companies is the ability to create web sites that can use server-side code. Using server-side code will allow you to communicate with a database on their server, and dynamically make changes on the web site depending on what information is in that database. In this new age of Web 2.0, using server-side code to create a truly dynamic user-driven web site is essential. However if you just want to communicate your message to your audience, and you do not need to have your users interact with your site, this service might not be that important to you. No matter what kind of web site you are creating there is a web hosting company out there with the services that you need. <bio>Get help choosing the best Web Hosting at http://www.webhost-advisor.com/ </bio>

Do you operate a home based business? Do you have an email list you've been building? If not, you really should think about creating one. An email list can do several things for businesses. For one thing, it can keep your clients and customers informed about the happenings of your business. Maybe you've got a sale coming up in a few months and want your customers to know about it. An email list would be an organized way to quickly send emails to everyone interested in your business. When you do decide to start your email list for your business, consider using these simple tips.

Incentives Can Get Email Addresses Fast

It seems that people are much more willing to hand over their email addresses when there is an incentive involved. If you offer an incentive for people signing up for your email, you will likely get more people to sign on. Everyone loves to get something for free, or to get a chance to win a nice prize. Of course, you don't have to give away something expensive like a car. You can offer a simple article on the secrets of your business, or something completely cost-free and people will still get excited. Anything you can give away for free will help you pull in email addresses.

Bring Your Friends Along

You may want to offer something to those who refer others to your email list as well. You can explain in a newsletter that if they will forward your newsletter to someone they know, you will allow them to be entered into a prize winning contest. If you use an email marketing service to maintain your newsletters, you should easily be able to see who forwards the letter and who doesn't. When the friends receive the forwarded newsletter, they too might become interested in getting your newsletter and your list will grow instantly.

Teaming Up Is A Good Idea

There are many businesses that are correlated to your business, but that would not be considered a competitor of yours. If you can contact one of these businesses that are somehow related to yours, you can work together on email marketing. You can use each other's customer lists to reach more people, without seeming pushy about it. You can work this in several ways. One way is to feature your partner's business in your newsletter and ask them to do the same thing for your business. Or, you can ask your readers to join the list of the other business.
Email hosting has its own advantages when it comes to business applications. The Internet has become an industry standard for doing business whether you are simply communicating with members in the same office or you are dealing with clients and partners all over the world. The majority of written business communications are now done via email services.

This means that any business whether large or small is going to want to look into email hosting services.

Hosting email as part of the onsite services a business's networking department would handle, would require additional equipment, someone versed in handling email information and servers and a host of software applications including firewalls and spam blockers. This can quickly become expensive and places not only an additional financial burden on your business but also an additional burden on your network.

Email hosting takes care of that by providing your business with the email addresses and services that it needs without having to worry about all the equipment or the expense. You get a higher level of reliability and redundancy in addition to the features you are looking for. There is also the added benefit of the fact that email hosting is going to be a fixed rate expense and you can obtain any number of email addresses that you want whether it is just a few for a small business or you need hundreds to cover all your employees.

You also have the advantage of offsite backups. Provided that the individuals using it use web mail options or leave a copy on the server, you can pull up the emails for a particular persons account simply from the backups done on the email servers for whatever email hosting company you are using in case of a computer hardware failure. This can save a great deal of time, effort and trouble.

Giving consideration to the fact that emails are considered a standard of communication handling everything from important information, updates and meeting discussions to being a forum for formal written discussions in lieu of hard copy. Having the ability to obtain the majority if not all the messages on a person's account can encourage a greater sense of peace of mind for your business.

There are numerous advantages to email hosting. It is generally less expensive to use email hosting than it is to host the email servers and all the related and necessary services. It is easier to maintain backups and you have the option of both on and off site access through web mail options. There is also the benefit of being able to choose the number of email accounts you need. These are all advantages that come from the use of email hosting. The biggest however is the amount of money that it can save your business when you consider outsourcing your email hosting. Companies, which offer email hosting also, can ensure that your email addresses match your domain name making it more professional and easier for your business.<bio>Derek Rogers is a freelance writer who writes for a number of UK businesses.
Have a Mailing List of Your Own

No matter what type of email you send out, you'll need a mailing list. The basic way to build a mailing list is by capturing name and email address information for everyone who buys or shows interest in your product. This can be accomplished by using a list manager on your site. List managers also provide the HTML coding for the form on the Gateway pages. A list manager collects the email addresses that are gathered with the form. Thus, your email list is collected. This might take some time so there are methods to use until you get your own email list built.

Three ways to build a list

1. One way to build a mailing list is to do ad swaps with other list owners. The way this works is, you (as company A) have an email list that you send newsletters to and another list owner (company B) has a list they send newsletters to. Company A and Company B place ads on one another's mailing lists. Each of you is promoting the other's list.

2. You can rent or buy targeted email lists. The list you develop using your own customers' names is called your "house list." Of course, when you're first starting out, your house list is likely to be skimpy. To augment it, one way to go is rent or buy a mailing list. There are two ways to buy or rent a mailing list=97approaching the company you want to rent from directly or using a list broker. Any company that emails information to its customers usually has a list manager, who handles inquiries and orders for the mailing list.

3. Another way to build an email list is to list your newsletter in all of the ezine directories.

Conclusion.

A list manager collects the email addresses that are gathered with the forms. Thus, your email list is collected. An email list that YOU COLLECT YOURSELF is worth its weight in gold

All the best, Jos van Helvoirt <bio>Jos van Helvoirt is owner of The Dutch MoneyMaker, writes on a variety of subjects about homebusiness.
One of the biggest mistakes people who have web sites make is posting their email address on their web sites. What seems like a simple way to let people contact you is actually one of the most damaging things you can do. Spam bots just love to harvest email addresses. Not only do you need to worry about receiving unwanted spam you also need to worry about somebody spoofing your email address.

Just think of all the hard work and effort you have put into your business. All it takes is a handful of spoofed email addresses coming from your domain and your business name is now tainted. You also run the risk of your domain name being blacklisted because so many people have reported that you have sent spam even though you haven't. When your domain is blacklisted it means many ISPs and email services will not accept email from your domain.

Then we have programs like Spam Arrest which prevent their paid subscribers from getting spam. However they have been known to actually send spam out to those of us who reply to the paid subscribers verification requests. So when we start getting bombarded with spam who are we to turn to? Spam Arrest of course because they do protect their paid subscribers.

So don't risk it! Remove your email address from your own site and use a contact form instead. Also don't post your email address anywhere else like message boards or classified listings.

If you don't know how to add a contact form to your site this is a simple job that many web site developers can do for you. This cost anywhere from $25 to $100 depending on the company. Even if you are only able to find somebody on the high end it will be well worth it in the long run for your business. <bio>Tara McGillicuddy is an Internet Marketing Consultant.
In this day and age where email usage is so prevalent, sometimes people get lazy and forget to construct the best message they can. Email can be used in business as well as for personal use. However, with email handling so much communication, people take advantage of it and fail to put a coherent thought together. The following are some tips that will help you build a polite email.

For starters, be concise. In this arena, less means more. Expert say any message of more than 100 lines is considered long and will probably not be read. Some companies are taxed for every second of Internet connection, so they will not be happy to accept messages that are too long.

Be careful with attachment. Don't use it to send a short message. Use it to augment your message or to send work or another project. Attachments can be tricky so be sure to use them wisely. It's also a good idea to let the party know what the attachment is for. Many people are wary of attachments as they have been known to contain viruses. Some business have a firewall set up to intercept attachments so depending on the type it is, it may not even reach its destination.

Know who you are sending the email to. You need to pay close attention when you address an email to multiple recipients. First, be sure that everyone on the list needs the information that you are sending. If there are people that don't need the message or if it doesn't apply, then you may have to deal with some angry people. No one wants their inbox cluttered with junk mail. Also be sure that the addresses are current. Take the time to check the addresses every so often and make necessary updates.

Be careful of what you write. Again, since email use is so widespread, it's easy to become very familiar with the message. However, not everyone appreciates such informal notes. If you are not addressing a person you know, then don't use short phrases. It may also seem unprofessional to use emoticons, so avoid them. Once you construct your email run a spellcheck to make sure everything is correct. Emails with a lot of mistakes don't look good and make a bad impression.

Formatting problems. Not all email programs are created equal. With this being the case, stick to the easiest format available. Email is for communication, not a design exercise. Simplicity is usually the best way to go.

Starting and finishing. Be sure to start your message with a proper opening. Many times people jump right into the body of the email. It looks better to have a simple opening such as 'Dear' or 'Hello'. Both are appropriate. You can choose to end with 'Sincerely' or if you want something more informal, go with 'All the best' or 'Yours truly'. <bio>Learn more about communication, telecommunications and technology by visiting http://www.communication-tips.com </bio>

Email marketing is a powerful technology that can bring in sales and improve your online presence. Unfortunately, it also leaves lots of room for abuse. In order to avoid getting marked as a spammer and exiled to the bulk email file, follow these five important rules when crafting and sending an email marketing campaign:

Say no to Spam

Spam is any unsolicited commercial email. Sending spam is illegal and the Federal CAN-SPAM act dictates that if you violate federal laws and send spam, you may face jail time or heavy fines. If you're not sure if you're sending spam, ask yourself the following questions. Where did your list come from? If you bought it, rented it, or simply scraped email addresses off Websites, it is a spam list. Have your recipients given permission for you to send them emails? If they haven't you are acting as a spammer.

Collect email addresses in a responsible manner

If you need to build a permission-based email list, build one and grow it on your own. You can do this by putting a List Builder or sign-up box on your Website. You can offer people gifts if they sign up for your email or newsletters. You can solicit emails from customers at trade shows, sales and other special events. Never buy or rent a list or scrape email addresses of Websites. If you do, you'll be marked as a spammer before you can even say CAN-SPAM Act.

Make it easy for customers to contact you

When you send out customer emails, make absolutely certain that their replies go to an email box you check frequently. Also, at the bottom of every single email or HTML newsletter you send, make sure to include your contact info as well as your company's email address. Think of your email or newsletter as the first contact in your overall sales campaign. If you want customers to open their wallets and buy your products, make certain they have an easy way to reach you so you can answer their questions.

Always include a link to your website

Always include a link to your Website in your emails. Some email marketers forget this very basic concept and end up sending an email marketing campaign with no link back to their Website. Don't make this mistake. Make it easy for customers to come back to your site and view your products or services.

Write honest, crisp email copy

Think hard about what you want your email to say and write it accordingly. Remember that one of the best ways to build customer trust is to tell the truth in your copy. Don't promise something you can't deliver, just be honest about what you're selling and offering. Also, make your email marketing copy crisp and clean. Email marketing copy should be easy and interesting to read. If you throw together some copy and it's too long or not compelling, customers will open your email, skim it, and dump it in their online trash can. The key is not only to get customers to open your email campaigns, but take the time to read what you have to say and eventually buy something. <bio>Gary San is a best practices activist and advocate for Benchmark Email ( http://www.benchmarkemail.com/email-marketing.aspx), a leading Web and permission-based email marketing service. </bio>

Email marketing is an important buzzword in e-business today. There are several reasons for this. First, it is a cheap way to get to prospects. Second, it is fast. Promotional messages can be delivered to a number of prospects through email marketing, and delivered fast. Third email marketing is very effective if used well.

Beginning An Email Marketing Campaign

To begin an email marketing campaign, first you need email addresses. Give potential customers the ability to opt-in to email newsletters that you may send. Give them the ability to invite their friends to the email list. You can do this by a simple invite-your-friend link in their email message.

Things To Remember In Email Marketing

Try to gain trust early on in the email marketing process. Make it clear to prospects that you will not sell email addresses to anyone. Also, allow an opt-out option with the email newsletter that you send. Try to gain trust by "talking" to your customer as you would talk to a friend. Only through trust will your customer get ready to buy your product and you make a sale.

Provide Useful Information In Your Email Marketing Campaign

Useful information is the only reason prospects subscribe to your email marketing campaign. So give it to them. If you sell dog products, explain to your prospects how to keep dogs clean and healthy and the benefits of doing so. Be the expert in the topic you are dealing with. Be willing to share useful tips, insights etc. with your prospect that will endear them to your email marketing campaign. This is essential to get profit from email marketing.

Interesting Subject Lines

Keep your subject lines interesting as well as hard hitting. Your subject lines draw readers to the subject at hand. These same subject lines determine whether your mail is treated as spam. Frame your subject lines in a manner that they are interesting as well as give some information on the subject and arouse curiosity. This ensures that the prospects get to the next part of the marketing message that is the email.

Keep It Short And Simple

This is also called the KISS principle. Use intrigue in the email. Just as the email subject line arouses curiosity in the email, the email should be able to sustain the curiosity. The result should be a curious would-be customer who cannot wait to go from the email to the website where you sell your products.

While you get profit from email marketing, use common sense mixed with marketing acumen for the best results. Endear yourself to customers. This can be done through simple authenticity in all dealings with them. "Talk" to your customers like a friend throughout the email-marketing message. Use creativity while delivering the message to the prospect. Email marketing is a godsend for small businesses. Use it wisely to spice up business and get those cash registers ringing. <bio>Author is a technical expert associated with development of email marketing program: http://www.glocksoft.com/em/ Did you find those tips useful?
