If you like country music then there is nowhere else in the world you can enjoy as much as Nashville, Tennessee and the Grand Ole Opry. The Grand Ole Opry is a mainstay of this city known as the "home of country music" and anytime you go you are guaranteed to see a mixture of current country music stars, legends, and new artists trying to break into the business.

The best way to get tickets to the Grand Ole Opry is to buy them on the website early. This means that you can get the best tickets that are up close to the action and you can really see all that is going on. If you wait until you are actually in Nashville to buy your tickets for the Grand Ole Opry you may find yourself out of luck or else in the very back. Anywhere you sit in the Grand Ole Opry is a great place, but the best view is up close!

Any time of year is a great time to visit the Grand Ole Opry, but if you visit during non traditional vacation times you are sure to have an easier time getting tickets not to mention you won't need to deal with the crowds. The Grand Ole Opry is Nashville's biggest attraction so everyone is trying to get tickets at the same time, which makes it a bit of a challenge sometimes if you wait until the last minute.

The Opry is open on Tuesday nights starting in March and continues on Friday and Saturday the rest of the year. The Opry starts at different times each night and there are two shows on Saturday.

Country music icons like Hank Williams Sr., Ernest Tubbs, and Pasty Cline sang at the Opry and today their legends carry on with new singers and stars. Today's country music singers enjoy singing at the Opry as much their ancestors did and visitors really love the show and the entertainment!

But, the Grand Ole Opry isn't just country music. It is also a mix of gospel, comedy, bluegrass, today's hits and more. The Grand Ole Opry is located at the Grand Ole Opry House but was located for years in the Ryman Auditorium and before that in other locations in Nashville. The Grand Ole Opry has really been a success in Nashville and it is the best place to go if you are in Nashville !

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W.
We need the sun. It's a vital part of our planet, our ecosystems, and our bodies. The sun provides us with Vitamin D, which we need to live. A lack of Vitamin D in the body can cause problems ranging anywhere from joint pain to colon cancer. Yes, we need the sun.

That being said, we also know that too much sun is dangerous. Harmful UVA and UVB rays cause wrinkles, age-spots, and of course skin cancer. There's no excuse this day in age-- when so much information about our health is at our fingertips-- not to take the precautions necessary for the health of your skin. And while it seems impossible that the thing you need, that you get so much pleasure and sustenance from can also kill you. Never forget that it can.

Fortunately, there are ways to protect your skin from the sun.

Watch the Hour

The sun is at its most intense (and most dangerous) between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. So if you're going to be in the sun, make sure and check the hour. Yes, even if you're using sunscreen. While sunscreens do offer some protection from the sun, and should be worn at all times while outside, it's also a good idea to avoid prolonged exposure to the most intense rays of the sun.

Wear Sunscreen

This is an obvious one, and one that we've all heard, yet some people still think this is optional. Yes, tanned skin is slimming, youthful, and beautiful, but it's not worth getting it the expense of your health-- and your future beauty. Remember, every time you sunbathe without sunscreen, you're prematurely ageing you skin. In twenty years, you'll be kicking yourself for each and every tanning session you took in your youth.

Instead of irresponsible exposure, invest in a good quality, high SPF (in case you didn't know, this stands for sun protection factor) sunscreen. Choose a long lasting sunscreen with an SPF of 20 or more. Make sure to apply sunscreen at least twenty minutes before exposure to the sun, and every two hours thereafter. Also reapply after exposure to water.

If you're prone to breakouts or worried about the texture of your skin, you don't need to. Not all sunscreens have to be pasty white or greasy. Choose sun-protection products with a lightweight, oil-free formula.

Cover Up

In the past, only UVB rays were considered the dangerous ones. But recent studies have shown that UVA rays are dangerous as well. Unfortunately, most sunscreens only protect against UVB rays. Broad spectrum sunscreens that protect against both UVA and UVB rays are harder to find, as well as less appealing-- they generally leave your skin white and pasty.

To protect your body and especially your face from both UVA and UVB rays, make sure to cover up. Large sun hats are classic, elegant, and fun to wear-- don't be afraid to bring one along on your next trip to the beach to protect the delicate skin of your face. Wear a cover-up when not in the water. These few easy steps will assure that your skin is protected, both for your future health, and your future beauty. <bio>In order to achieve that healthy, glowing look with your skin, make sure to stay out of the sun, use organic sunscreen and take advantage of a good facial moisturizer. http://www.saffronrouge.com </bio>

Did you ever wish you could be "immunized against depression?" The best immunization is a correct understanding about the way life works. And that's what's in it for you! Read on.

When things go wrong, I used to wonder, "What did I do to deserve this!?" And somehow I slipped, in times past, into believing we all have a "right" to some of life's blessings. In fact, the government is busy convincing Americans that the "right to pursue health and happiness" as emphasized by the founding fathers was really a big mistake, and that Americans have a "right to health and happiness." Just forget that pursue business! But the fact is, we don't have an inherent right to anything, and the founding fathers had it right. And we don't "deserve" better!

Don't get me wrong! I'd like to believe I deserve better and I'd like to believe I have a "right" to all sorts of goodies. But just because "I want it" doesn't make it true. This mentality, that "I deserve" something, is what gets folks into trouble every time they buy into it.

I have realized that it's the "I deserve" mentality that sent me spiraling into a depression when my kids were diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. I was so caught up with "I deserve" that when I didn't get what I deserved (healthy children and happily-ever-after), I became depressed, resentful and borderline bitter. "If I deserved it, why didn't I get it?" and "That's not fair. Why does everyone else get it?" And on and on.

I have come to realize that the "I deserve" mentality keeps me emotionally stuck. I end up focusing on what I don't have (and of course deserve) rather than focusing on being thankful for what I do have. When things don't work out the way "I deserve" them to, then I get upset, angry, resentful or depressed. After all, don't I deserve a happy life, healthy kids, a successful career, a good marriage, the support I need with the kids, and a nice car just like all of those advertisements and fairy tales say I do?

Well, no=85. The truth is: No one owes me anything and I really don't deserve anything, either. Why is it the job of the universe or karma or fate or God to give me anything? Everything I have is a gift, a blessing; not something that I was entitled to. Because, in the end, we are entitled to nothing. Children die or are never born at all. Car accidents happen. Jobs are lost. Houses are foreclosed on. Businesses fail. Marriage is hard. Most of the world doesn't have enough food and clean water much less universal health care, paid medication and retirement checks. I am blessed.

This year I am focusing on thankfulness, gratitude, and appreciation. I am choosing to look on the bright side, dwell in the positive, and to find creative ways to make lemonade out of lemons. This is why the book (which I co-authored) "Parenting Children with Health Issues" means so much to me and brings me such joy. I am doing something positive with the most difficult challenge of my life: having two children with cystic fibrosis.

Instead of being depressed about having two kids with cystic fibrosis and all of the heartache and headache that entails, I am lucky that they are in my life at all, that they are so wonderful and adorable and that we live in America with the best healthcare in the world. Instead of being upset about my husband's recent job re-org and pay cut, we are thankful to have a job at all in this massively messed-up housing market (he works for a homebuilder). Instead of griping about the changes in our insurance and prescription plans that make us pay more plus have more hassles, I am grateful we have insurance at all. I am thankful to have an incredible business partner and meaningful work that inspires me despite the day-to-day challenges. I am grateful that I have a wonderful family despite all of our little idiosyncrasies and hang ups. I am blessed.

Do I deserve it? Not a bit of it. Am I grateful for it? You betcha. Even when the kids are sick, the house is a mess and the finances running tight.

This new year, I am focusing on turning my burdens into blessings. That's what's in it for me=85=85. And that's what's in it for you!

(Reprinted with permission from Parenting Children with Health Issues by Foster W.
I have to admit I was a little worried about how the talk at school would go. Even though I am well-trained in communicating with kids, I am still a mom first. And moms worry! It's part of our DNA.

The kids had just started a new school and the teachers requested that I talk to their classmates about their medical issues. Both of our children have cystic fibrosis. They need to take medication (pancreatic enzymes) to help their food digest properly. Of course their classmates have noticed Jacob and Kasey chucking down a handful of pills at lunchtime and have barraged my children- and their teachers- with questions.

I spent a couple of hours preparing for the talk. I wanted it to be fun and informative- sort of like a health education class. Kids need visuals so I found a diagram of the digestive system that could be colored. Jacob and Kasey helped me gather some show-and-tell items: A nebulizer cup, an albuteral puffer, and opened up pancreatic enzymes placed in a baggie (kids always want to know "what's inside").

We decided together what to talk about and I gave them lots of choices: Do you want to talk or have me do it? Will you be with me or at your desk? Kasey (in first grade) decided to have me do all the talking but she would be my helper. Jacob (third grade) decided to do the talking about pancreatic enzymes and have me teach about the rest. We were prepared and the kids were excited. Kasey's little girlfriends were buzzing with anticipation. They were all so curious about CF.

I was nervous. I do plenty of public speaking but I was more nervous about speaking in front of twenty first and third graders than 200 adults! These are my babies! And this is "life-and-death" stuff in front of their classmates. What if I blew it? One of my biggest fears was that a child would innocently ask, "Will Jacob (or Kasey) die from cystic fibrosis?" The honest "grown up" answer is, "It's possible unless there is a cure since the median life expectancy is 37 at this time." But that's not something a 7-year-old needs to know in such stark terms- including my own! I wasn't exactly sure how I would answer this question and I wasn't sure if my kids really knew this reality. So, taking my cues from Dr. Foster Cline, I decided to ask them.

Preparing for the worst, I casually (but with heart pounding) asked my son, "So Jacob. What would you say if someone at school asks you if you can die from CF?" He thought for a moment. Then he said, "Well, I would say people do die from CF. But we are more likely to live longer when we take good care of our bodies." Wow!! The answer of my dreams! He knows the reality of the situation but also understands the role he plays in taking responsibility for his healthcare. Plus he understands the long-term impact of his healthcare decisions.

That massively encouraged me. Later on, I asked Kasey the same thing. She said, "Well, you can but if you eat healthy and take all your medicine then maybe not." Bingo! Two for two. Both kids have an understanding of the reality of cystic fibrosis and are hopeful about positive outcomes based on their personal choices about self-care. I have to say I was a little surprised. I didn't think that children this young could have such a mature attitude and understanding of such a heavy situation.

The talks went well that day. All of the children were curious, open and delightful. We had a lot of fun together. Kasey even demonstrated chucking down four (big) enzymes in one swallow just before lunch. The kids couldn't have been more amazed if it were a flaming sword!

And no one even asked the dreaded question. Go figure.<bio>Lisa Greene is the mother of two children with cystic fibrosis and the co-author with Foster Cline MD of the "Parenting Children with Health Issues: Essential Tools, Tips and Tactics for Raising Kids with Chronic Illness, Medical Conditions and Other Special Needs."
Honey, trust me on this...

QUESTION: I just hate my skin in the winter; it's so dull and pasty. When I try to liven it up with make-up I end up looking like a drag queen, so what's the solution?

ANSWER: Honestly, the solution is NOT what you do to the TOP of your skin -- which is all we can see. That dull, pasty surface tells the sad story of all the holiday fun, food, and fat we indulged in. Also, January is "get back to work" time with short, dark days creating a shut-in environment for us. If your skin is looking sluggish it's because your circulation and organs are sluggish. Bottom line reality: Rev everything up inside with aerobic exercise of any kind, and it will jettison rich blood and oxygen to your muscles, through your skin, and out your pores. I don't need to tell you what kind of aerobics to do because you know what they are: Just move your body and move it fast! What you want is that pink, moist glow...right? Trust me, working up a good, honest "sweat like a horse" is the one and only path to a peaches and cream complexion. While you're at it, here are the token side effects: You will #1: detoxify the sins of December (well, dietary ones anyway); #2: energize your brain cells and elevate your mood with happy endorphins so you can actually KEEP a FEW New Year's resolutions; #3: get a light year's head start on (ugh!) swimsuit season by throwing in squats and lunges; a few dozen will, literally, kick your butt and make you pant for dear life. If your lower body doesn't need any fine tuning (you bitch), just sit in a sauna or steam and let the sweat flow...same result. One caveat to skin purging, though, is: If you don't exfoliate diligently (especially your face), you're begging for clogged pores and blemishes. Don't expect luminous skin if you don't sweep away dead skin cells so the poison can escape. But you should already know, from this girl, that exfoliation is a year-round requirement anyway. Be prepared: if you work up a heart-pumping, red-face sweat every day and wear an endorphin smile, your friends might start begging to know what's going on in the bedroom. You don't HAVE TO tell them you got your "afterglow" at Sportsclub L.A.!

QUESTION: The number of facial moisturizers and anti-aging products on the market makes my head spin, and they all make the same outrageous claims. How's a girl supposed to choose one?

ANSWER: You're so right about all the products and claims. There's, literally, a new product introduced every day with every new product's ingredient list more exotic and outlandish than the one before. (I remember when placenta cream was considered really "out there.") Then along comes caviar cream and even copper cream. Believe it or not, scientists are toiling away right now in their labs trying to reproduce vernix (the white, waxy coating on a baby while it's in the womb) which will, allegedly, be the next miracle moisturizer! Anyway, please trust me on this: Feed your skin cells like your body cells. By that I mean anti-oxidants (vitamins C, E, A), proteins from milk, and superfoods like spirulina and royal jelly. Look for them all in a base emollient of evening primose oil or shea butter, and you've got the true formula for a peachy, perfect complexion! Whatever you do, though, avoid anything with perfume or colorings. Come on, pink may be prettier, and we all like a good fragrance, but would you aim an atomizer of Chanel No. 5 at your face? Of course not, and massaging it in is even worse. Why do you think women suffer so many mysterious irritations and breakouts after spending $150 for a small jar of pastel perfumed "24 hour, Turn Back the Clock Treatment"? Just read those labels and shop for purity; but, whatever you do moisturize with, don't forget Sandy's #1 rule: exfoliate every day, or leave the glow down below! <bio>Sandy Steele is a mother, wife, author, Health and Beauty Editor and monthly columnist for the "Beverly Hills Times" and "Women on Top" magazines and CEO of her own public company (OTC: SSTU). http://www.sandybeverlyhills.com/ </bio>

Brief History Of Cornwall and Devon

The first remains of a basic society in Cornwall dates back to 4500 BC -- primative stone tools have been found from this era indicating the existence of a settlement (in a town called Redruth).

Cornwall saw an "invasion" from the Celts during 1000 BC -- the Celts were warriors from Europe and were largely the ancestors of current day Cornish folk.

Devon is believed by many historians to be one of the very first places in England to have settlers. Indeed, Dartmoor (a National Park in the centre of Devon) still offers a lot of prehistoric sites of interest. Further it's from Plymouth that the Pilgrim Fathers first set sail to the Americas -- and also where Sir Francis Drake went off to battle the Spanish Armada.

Dartmoor also is home to some of the oldest structures in England -- primitive buildings and remains include stone circles, burial mounds and ancient settlements.

While the Roman invasion of Britain left Cornwall largely untouched the same cannot be said of Devon. The Romans took over much of current day Devon - including a port at Topsham and a legion at Exeter.

The Romans were no longer controlling Devon by around 400 and by 800 it had fallen under the rule of Wessex (King Egbert).

During the 14th and 15th century, Devon was under serious threat from the French who raided the Devon coastline.

Food and Drink In Cornwall -- Great Pubs, Good Food And Drink!

It's true that the Cornish enjoy their food -- so much so that Cornwall and Devon are known almost as much for their culinary offerings as their stunning scenery and coasts.

The famous Cornish Pasty is just one of the local edible treats available in this charming English county. The Cornish pasty is a tasty puff pastry that's stuffed with beef steak (or mince), onions, potatoes and seasoned with pepper. It must be tried (assuming you're not a vegetarian) at least once during your visit to Cornwall.

Famous starters include Kiddly Broth, a soup made with onions, bacon and hard bread as well as nettle soup (yes, it's made from real nettles).

Fish and Chips is a famous English dish -- however, the Cornish use beer to make theirs and it certainly makes for an interesting variation of standard fish and chips.

Star Gazy Pie is a pastry made with pilchards (herring or mackerel can also be used), boiled eggs, bacon, onions and white wine.

Fancy something sweet? Cornish sweets include Cornish Cherry Choclets (a mix of chocolate, syrup, cherries and butter), Cornish Splits (made from sugar, milk, flour and lard) and Figgy 'obbin (a baked treat consisting of raisins, milk, sugar and flour).

As you'd probably expect by now the Cornish also have their own signature drinks. These include Aunt Ellys Nog (a mix of eggs, cream, vanilla, sugar and milk), Cornish Mine Punch (rum, brandy, lemons and sugar) and Cornish Spiced Mead.

Other foods that Cornwall is known for are the rich Cornish fudge and ice cream and Cornish Hevva Cake.

Weather In Devon and Cornwall -- When To Go

While Cornwall and Devon enjoys some of the mildest weather anywhere in the UK, summer-time still remains the peak time to visit.

Cornwall experiences the mildest winters in Great Britain -- rarely does it snow in winter and summer days tend to be wonderfully warm and sunny.

In Cornwall, May is a very good time to visit, and all months up to July enjoy around seven hours of sunshine a day.

The Obby Oss Summer Ceremony In Cornwall

If you happen to visit Cornwall during May Day then a visit to Padstow is highly recommended to witness the all but mad event of Obby Oss. This strange ceremony is performed every year in order to "welcome summer" (something that perhaps the rest of Britain should consider).

During this colourful and noisy procession, two large masks representing horses are paraded through the town accompanied by musicians playing the "Obby Oss May Song". <bio>Discover The Best Places To Visit In Cornwall and Devon.
So you've got the perfect dress, the perfect shoes and everything is set. But wait a minute! You didn't forget about your face didn't you? So what is the most important thing about your wedding day makeup? That is to look like yourself. Be the blushing bride that you truly are. You basically want to look your best without looking like you're trying way too hard. Okay, look at it this way, if your look is way too harsh because of too much, well, too much of everything just imagine yourself looking back at the photos and cringing at the very sight of you. You don't want that to happen, right? So make sure that, whatever look you go for, it brings out your natural beauty.

The best way to do this is practice before the big day. Practice makes perfect and that applies to pretty much everything. Whether you're having your makeup done by a professional or if perhaps it's a D-I-Y case, practicing on your face beforehand would give you a better grasp of what works and what doesn't. Say you want to get it done at a salon, be sure to schedule for a trial session with the makeup artist. This would give both of you time to talk about the look you want as well as try on a variety of colors. You probably would be to anxious to be able to relay to him or her the look that you want if you two were to meet on the day itself.

If you decide to just do things on your own, practice is key. It is referred to as wedding day makeup which means it is special and thus the extra preparation needed. Try various techniques as well as colors. A great tip is to visit your local beauty store and talk to the lady who assists people with the choosing. She would be able to help you pick out colors that would be right for you as well as show you the right way to use them. Practicing beforehand would make sure that you won't be fretting and panicking on your big day just because the colors don't match or they are too dark for the occasion. Preparation is key.

If you do decide to go DIY, here are a few tips that would help you perfect that natural "blushing bride" look.

For your face, make sure that the foundation you're using matches your skin tone perfectly. You would also want to make sure that it blends easily to your skin. Because let's face it, you've heard way too many stories of wedding day makeup disasters such as the foundation lines and the "cake face" when flash is used in photos. Look for a foundation that would work well with your skin type. If you have oily skin you should use an oil-matte free foundation as this would help minimize the shine. If you have dry skin, look for a foundation that also doubles as a moisturizer to make sure that your skin looks soft and dewy the entire day.

Concealers are also a basic. I'm sure you won't get much sleep before the big day itself so what better way to hide those dark circles than with a concealer! Just don't abuse it as you can actually draw more attention to your dark eye circles if you use way too much of it. A great tip to prevent this is to mix it together with a bit of your foundation before you apply it. That way you'll get flawless, clean look instead of the cakey and pasty one. Next step is to set your foundation with some loose powder.<bio>PART 2 - For part two of this article, head on to Wedding Day Makeup and to find many other great beauty tips visit Colorescience Mineral Makeup.</bio>

Bad breath, also known as Halitosis in medical terminology, is an unpleasant odor that exits the mouth while breathing. This occurrence can be both embarrassing and troubling to many who suffer from the airborne nuisance. There are different types of bad breath, which occur for different reasons and therefore require different treatments.

Temporary bad breath is commonly caused by a dry mouth, poor oral hygiene, certain types of food and/or smoking. Any one or a combination of these can result in bad breath. Another common type of temporary bad breath is known as morning breath, which occurs first thing in the morning as an individual opens his/her eyes. Chronic bad breath is often caused by certain medical conditions, medications and/or oral buildup.

The determination of bad breath is often made by the person who suffers from it. A dryness or pasty feeling in the mouth and/or an unpleasant taste are both symptoms of bad breath. The best way for a quick, and temporary, relief is to drink a glass of water. This will restore moisture in the mouth and will help to provide some fast results.

The treatment for bad breath may include regular dental visits and proper cleaning, brushing 2 to 3 times daily or after every meal, regular flossing, a change in food consumption and/or diet regimen. In addition, many bad breath sufferers find that brushing the tongue will help to rid the mouth of bacteria that could later lead to a foul odor. Unfortunately for many who suffer from chronic bad breath due to an illness or necessary medication, the only plan of action against bad breath is to mask the problem as effectively as possible. A mouthrinse, chewing gum or breath freshener may help to reduce the noticeability of bad breath.

Anyone who suffers from bad breath may wish to carry a packet of chewing gum, breath mints and/or breath spray for quick relief. In the event that it isn't always possible to brush after every meal, such as often the case when dining at work or with colleagues, these items will help to mask any odor until the individual is able to properly cleanse their mouth.

The information contained in this article is to be used for reference only.
A puppy always tells his dog owner whether he is getting too much or too little dog food in several ways. Crying is one of the most often recognized, but least likely to be always accurate. Although hungry puppies do cry, so do cold puppies, hot puppies, puppies that were disturbed from a nap, lost puppies, sad puppies, etc. Crying is simply nature's way of giving a puppy a means of telling everybody that he is unhappy. Anything that makes a puppy unhappy will probably also make him cry, even having his tummy too full. Therefore, to say that a puppy is crying because he is hungry requires a judgment on the owner's part. And since we do not think like a puppy, we have to use the reactions of the puppy's system to determine whether or not he is getting enough to eat.

Every time you give dog food to a puppy, two things should happen. First, he should have a bowel movement and second, he should urinate. Sometimes a puppy may need a little encouragement by rubbing his anal area, but he should always perform both acts if everything is going right. The makeup and amount of his feces and urine are important clues that tell you how well you are doing when it comes to properly feeding your pet. For one thing, the puppy's stool should be formed as it is expelled, but its consistency should be soft and pasty. The color will depend to some extent on what you are feeding him. But in every case, it should not vary from a pale tan to a mahogany brown. The inside of the stool may be yellow-brown in many cases. Stools that are green, bluish-white or clear signal trouble. Even tan or brownish stools that are watery, lumpy, hard or curdled may indicate something is not right. Whenever either off-color or off-form stools occur, stop feeding all dog food immediately and skip the next feeding entirely .

Begin the following feeding with a formula that has been diluted one-half with boiled water. Continue to feed the same quantity as you did the undiluted dog food. If this fails to produce an improvement in the stool, reduce the quantity you are feeding by 25 % at each feeding. If stools continue to be off-color or off-form, consult your vet.

A puppy's urination is an indicator of his water balance. The quantity should be about the same each time the puppy urinates. It might be pale yellow to almost clear, but should never be deep yellow or orange. Also, it should always be like water and never like syrup and should smell like urine. Urine that is scanty, dark in color, or syrupy, indicates that the pup is not getting enough water. More water should be supplied, either added to the dog food formula or fed separately. If the urine seems excessive in amount, unduly clear, or thin, the water concentration of the formula should be re-checked to make sure that he is not getting too much water. If urine production stops altogether for longer than four feedings, take the puppy to a vet as soon as possible. <bio>John Mailer has written many articles about dogs and puppies and how to train them. His main business is as an internet marketer. http://www.howtostartonlinehomebusiness.com http://www.basicsdogtraining.com/dognutritionfood.html </bio>

We all don't have the same skin type; no matter what we do we can't really change the skin we were born with. Having said that there are many things you can do to improve the existing look of your skin so it looks much better than it does. This is especially true for your face; there are thousands of creams and lotions out there that promise to make your facial skin look like to moon. But don't given in to all that advertising, you can follow easy, time saving steps that will enable you to improve your skin without having to spend hundreds of dollars on over the counter products.

Now lets face it, we can't all have skin like Julia Roberts. Like it or not, even with the best skin-care available, you can only to so much to improve the skin you inherited from your parents. But that doesn't mean you have to walk around feeling pasty or drab. With a little bit of makeup, properly used, you can handily cover up blemishes, even out your skin tone, and feel good about your face. So make the best of what you've got with these simple steps and products.

First, a good foundation for your face is the foundation of your look. Foundation, or base makeup, is the first step towards a beautiful, clear look. They come in many different finishes, so pick your foundation according to your desired outcome, whether you want to have a light sheen or glow, or a powdered, matt finish. And nothing undermines a good foundation like a bad tone match. Make sure that you match your foundation exactly to your face's skin tone to avoid a painted, sloppy look. Testing a new foundation on the back of your hand is usually a good indication of a match, but you may need more than one tone for different seasons.

Rub your foundation evenly across your whole face to help conceal blemishes and give your face a consistent color. Make sure to rub it in thoroughly at your face's edge, so that you don't have a visible line along your jaw and hairline where your makeup ends. If you have blemishes that are still visible, you may want to use a skin-toned concealer to cover them. Dab a small amount on the area in need, and then blend it in with the surrounding foundation. Those who desire a mat finish may want to consider a powder, both to prevent shine and to help set the underlying foundation. If not, you will still probably want to use blush, to restore some color to your face. When lightly applied to the cheekbones with a blush brush, with the lightest coloring to your chin, the top of your nose and your forehead, a little blush helps give you a natural healthy look. As with the foundation, make sure you chose a color that matches your overall complexion. Choosing a color that doesn't fit with your overall look can give you a toy-like look, just like an unblended foundation border, so chose your colors and blend them with care.

And finally, make sure you always completely remove your makeup before bed. Your skin will look better from the start, and will look that much better with your makeup on.

As you can see you don't need to be rich to improve the look of your skin, with some time and knowledge you can do a much better job than commercial creams and lotions.<bio>Debrah Dragon is a writer for Beauty Items, a website about everything beauty-related - beauty tips, beauty salons, beauty products, etc. Debrah is also a featured author at www.ArticleKing.com</bio>

They are, however, the easiest to use and last longer than gel pens and nearly as long as those with a rollerball. The pasty ink tends to dry out within a month or two and even a little dirt can render a ballpoint pen unusable.

Rollerball, gel and highlighter plastic pens will help you stand out from the common ballpoint giveaways. They will cost you a bit more but if different is what you want then one of these choices might be ideal.

Barrel Size The barrel of the pen is the outer plastic sheath that holds in the mechanism and ink stick or reservoir. In addition to the length and width of the barrel, you should consider the shape and any features like clip or ergonomic grip. Wider barrels are more comfortable to write with for most hands. If you can find room for it in your budget, consider a rubber grip and a fatter lower barrel.

If you are promoting to an elderly or disabled community, you definitely need a wider pen. The pressure is spread out over a wider surface, requiring less of a grip.

One of the great benefits of choosing plastic pens for promotion is that plastic is malleable and comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. Metal pens are almost always more narrow and without a soft grip.

Life Expectancy The life expectancy of your printed plastic pens depends on whether you choose disposable or refillable. So does the price you'll pay per pen. Nearly all plastic pens are disposable to keep the prices down. If you choose refillable plastic pens, your choices will be considerably reduced and your cost will rise significantly.

If you are really set on the idea of refillable pens, you might want to consider metal, rather than plastic. The cost is about the same and the writing weight is a bit more comfortable.

Form and Function Besides a quality writing instrument, many businesses realize the importance of multi-functionality. If your clientele is technologically savvy, consider a plastic pen and stylus pair or a mechanical pencil and plastic pen duo.

There are plastic pen and tape measure combos, pens coupled with a carabiner clip and others with bubble fluid and a wand on the end. With multiple color choices and great space for a logo or other message, the bubble wands are perfect for promoting to children, families or brides to be.

When choosing plastic pens for marketing, you shouldn't be overwhelmed with the options. Take it one decision at a time and you can eliminate many of the choices all at once. <bio>Gareth Parkin is the co-founder of Ideasbynet, the UK's leading online supplier of http://www.ideasbynet.com/ideasbynet_promotional_pens.htm promotional pens and http://www.ideasbynet.com/printed-pens.htm printed pens. </bio>

Most of us are concerned about the amount of hair on our bodies, and there are many options for those who desire to rid themselves of unsightly hair. Shaving and plucking are the most popular methods of hair removal, but there are also methods known as waxing, sugaring and threading.

Shaving is the most popular method of hair removal. It's simple and can be accomplished with a straight razor or an electric razor. Some electric shavers provide best results after use of pre-shaving gels, creams or lotions, as can shaving with a straight razor.

Plucking is used as a method of hair removal for unsightly or unwanted facial hair. Using tweezers, hair removal from eyebrows is generally accomplished by hand held or electric tweezers. Tweezing pulls the hair out by its roots but it can be time consuming, depending on the results you're looking for, as each hair must be pulled out individually. Until the skin around the area becomes desensitized, this process can be on the painful side, and redness, inflammation can occur. For most, the effects of tweezing can last anywhere from three to eight weeks.

Threading is becoming a more popular trend in hair removal methods. This ancient hair removal process continues to be used in various parts of the world today, including parts of southwest Asia and the Middle East. To facilitate hair removal with this method, a long loop of thread, mostly cotton, is twisted into a figure-8 type shape and rolled along the surface of the skin. Hairs caught between the coiled pieces of string are pulled out by their roots, resulting in near perfect smoothness. This method suits hair removal from eyebrows and other facial areas, and is considered by many to be less painful than the plucking hair removal method.

Waxing is a hair removal method that is a little more time intensive and messy, though such inconveniences are more than outweighed by the fact that this method is extremely effective in hair removal of just about any type of body hair. Waxing facilitates the removal of entire shafts of hair, from below the surface of the skin. This method can be accomplished using either cool or hot wax. Be advised that waxing for hair removal, however effective, can cause skin irritations that may last several hours, and if not done carefully, can produce burns and other unpleasant results.

A hair removal method similar to waxing is one called sugaring. In this method, a sugar mixture is used instead of wax. Blending and heating sugar, water and lemon juice until it develops into a pasty mixture creates this concoction. This mixture is then applied to the surface of the skin, like a wax treatment, followed by a strip of cotton, which is then rapidly pulled off the skin in the opposite direction of the hair growth. This method of hair removal is popular among those who are sensitive to the ingredients in wax.

So take your pick, try them out and decide which method of hair removal best suits your time and your preferences. <bio>Is hair removal an ongoing struggle for you?
Spring Smallmouths

Smallmouth bass remain nearly dormant until water temperatures approach 50=B0 F. At this time, bass will start to move to their spawning areas. In streams, bass may begin migrating to spawn at early temperatures.

Fishing is difficult after spawning, because bass aren't more concentrated. The females, after recuperating, move to deeper waters. Males move deeper after abandoning the fry. If there is deep water near the spawning are, bass will move there.

Summer

Smallmouth bass areas are the most predictable this time of year. Bass may remain in the same place for several months once they take up residence in a certain pool or around a particular structure.

Smallmouth bass love crayfish and crayfish are linked to specific locations. Crayfish need rocks for protection and cannot move very far.

Smallmouth must move around in waters where baitfish is the primary food.

The depth that smallmouth bass retreat to depends on surface temperatures and direct sunlight. The type of water also determines how deep you'll find them. Smallmouth may stay as deep as 25 feet in clear water, shallower than 12 feet in murky lakes due to oxygen levels, and in pools less than four feet in small streams.

Early Fall to Mid-Fall Smallmouth Bas

Smallmouth begin to spend more time to shallower waters. The lower angle of the sun and cooler surface temperatures allow them to venture into shallower areas where food is more plentiful.

As the lake surface continues to cool, it eventually reaches the same temperature as the water below the thermo cline. The temperature from top to bottom becomes the same. This makes it tough fishing as bass can be found at various depths.

In rivers, smallmouth feed more as the water cools in the fall.

Late Fall and Winter

Smallmouth fishing becomes difficult this time of year as they move out of shallows into deeper water. Sometimes you can find densely packed schools, but the bite is likely to be poor.

Smallmouth in streams may move to deeper pools for winter when their mid-fall locations are too shallow. Fishing remains good as they continue to feed until water temperatures drop in to the low 40's.

Tips to Catching Smallmouth

=B7 Fishermen should fish using patterns that imitate key items in the diet of the smallmouth bus (crayfish, dragonflies, minnows, etc.)

=B7 Shoreline structures, such as docks, drop-offs, rocks, and logs, are worth fishing for smallmouth.

=B7 Fly-fishing is advantageous in areas where standard gear doesn't work.

=B7 Noise often attracts the attention of bass.

=B7 Be patient =96 Let the bug sit still for a period of as much 30 seconds, give it a twitch. If that isn't working, try "popping" it with a sharp jerk or an erratic stop-and-go retrieve. For streamers and other sub-surface flies, you should use the strip and stop, or a steady retrieve.

=B7 Catching bass in still waters generally requires watching and waiting for surface action, then getting the fly into feeding frenzies in a hurry.

=B7 Experiment to see what works best.

The greatest success is found by following the seasonal behavior of bass, replicating their feeding preference, and finding good structure. <bio>Marvin Pirila is the content writing specialist/copywriter for Fishing Webmaster LLC and its sites, including http://www.haywardfishingguide.com.
No matter how tired or pasty your skin might look, somewhere under that dull exterior is a new you waiting to burst out-and through the use of cleansing and rejuvenating body scrubs, you can let that new you loose!

You don't have to give your skin a professionally spa treatment start looking and feeling better, right away. All you need is your own skin, your own hands, a little know-how, and the right body scrub, and you'll be on your way in no time. Body scrubs are designed to remove your old skin and reveal the new you. What's more is body scrubs also give you a fresh and revitalized feeling, you will not only look younger but you will feel much younger too.

What can a body scrub can do for you? Exfoliating body scrubs provide strong cleaning action like a body wash, rubbing away the normal grime and sweat that accumulates during the normal course of your day- but that's just the beginning. The real magic is in the tiny granules found in any exfoliant cleanser. These granules work away at your skin, removing clingy dead skin cells from the surface to reveal the fresh, young flesh beneath.
The type of granules in different exfoliating body scrubs can vary greatly, and they can have slightly different affects. Salt scrubs are extremely popular for their excellent exfoliating capabilities, as well as their ability to sooth aching muscles. However picking up the right body scrub is imperative, you must know what to choose and when to choose. Just as if you have any minor cuts or abrasions, using a salt scrub will literally be putting salt in your wound, so use with care.

Sugar-based exfoliating body scrubs are also very popular. The granules of sugar tend to be a bit smaller than those used in salt scrubs, so a sugar-based exfoliant makes for a gentler cleansing feel, without the salty sting. Or, for a more powerful exfoliation, look for a body scrub that uses mud, pumice stone, or crushed almost shells as its exfoliant. They might sound strange, but they work wonders on your skin. Numerous people can attest to the effectiveness of body scrubs. These scrubs have worked wonders for people who have lost hope. As simple as they may be, don't be mistake their effectiveness because they are so simple to use.

If you suffer from itchy, dry skin, you might want to consider an oatmeal body scrub. Oatmeal isn't as strong an exfoliant, but its natural properties help quench parched skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth. It may work better for your face care, considering the skin on your face is more sensitive than the rest of the body. Most body scrubs also contain a moisturizing ingredient to help your skin recover after its thorough scrubbing, but if you have dry skin, you might also look for a body scrub with a strong moisturizing component. A sugar scrub with shea butter would probably give you just the right balance to give your skin that gorgeous glow. With names and ingredients like these, the biggest challenge isn't using your body scrub-it's keeping yourself from eating it!

So you haven't started using a body scrub by now then, it is time that you started using one from today. The way you feel after you use a body scrub will change the way you look at scrubs and your body again.<bio>Debrah Dragon is a writer for Beauty Items, a website about everything beauty-related - free beauty tips, beauty salons in Portland, body scrubs, etc. Debrah is also a featured author at www.ArticleKing.com</bio>

When one thinks of charcoal, we normally think of the most important historical use of wood charcoal; as the main ingredient in gunpowder. However, it was of major importance in metallurgical operations as a reducing agent, primarily in the manufacture of steel. The most common use in the modern era for charcoal is as a fuel source, but still has industrial application. The Charcoal Hearth Process was vitally important in the early industrial steel age.

Charcoal Hearth Processes were sometimes, but rarely, called forge processes, and bustling and buzzing are very obsolete terms. These processes are designed for the production of wrought iron (charcoal iron), usually by refining cast iron, occasionally by melting scrap before a tuyere with charcoal for fuel, the product being obtained in a pasty condition, and containing a certain amount of slag, but less than puddled iron. Only the latter method survived the early 20th century in this country.

In general the furnaces or hearths are like the Catalan and bloomary hearths for reducing iron from the ore, low, rectangular chambers, sometimes roofed, and with one or more tuyeres. The chief difference is that in refining cast iron much more strongly oxidizing conditions are brought about, chiefly by melting the metal down in drops before the tuyere, repeatedly, if need be, so that it passes in a state of minute subdivision and with great surface exposure through a part of the hearth where the atmospheric oxygen is in excess; and by the action of the basic ferruginous slag with which the metal is mixed during the earlier stages, and with which it is covered during the later stages, to ward off the strongly carburizing tendency of the charcoal.

Only a good quality of pig iron (nearly always charcoal pig) is used, as the process is expensive, and is employed only for a high grade of wrought iron. The pig iron is often given a preliminary refining to eliminate most of the silicon. The hearths are usually built of unlined cast-iron plates, at least in part water-cooled. Brick-work is avoided as the silica would enter the slag. The processes may be classified according to the number of times the metal is melted down before the tuyere, into single melting, double melting, and triple melting (or German or breaking up); into Walloon and non-Walloon.

The hearth may be covered or uncovered; if the latter it is called an open fire or open hearth; if the former, a closes hearth. The bloom, after rolling, is called finer's bar (cor- responding to muck bar in puddling), and after piling and rerolling, finished charcoal bar. German general steel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpYo-Jyiqa4) is an obsolete name for the product obtained by melting white or refined pig in a charcoal hearth; it may also be made of poorer quality. In the Bohemian process, mottled or even gray pig is used, and the blooms are reheated in the same hearth. Charcoal is first charged, and on top of this some slag and the pig which is melted down slowly, the iron cake which is formed being frequently raised up. The cinder is tapped at intervals. Finally the bloom is welded to the end of a rod and taken to the hammer; any particles of iron that remain in the hearth are retreated.

The use of charcoal in steel making rapidly diminished with the introduction of coke, anthracite smalls, etc. for industrial processes.<bio>Sarah E. We've faced the bitter cold of winter, passed through that awkward and wet transition called spring, and now we've finally arrived: summer has officially returned to us. It didn't take long to get here either, it doesn't seem like we should be so far into this year already, but lo and behold, here we are. With summer now officially upon us, and the natural energy of the season working itself up to high gear, now is the best time to consider one of the many excellent and exciting business opportunities perfectly suited to this time of year, the season of fun, sun, and travel.

Even before we've left the house for some summer goodness, there are great things that people like to do right in their own homes. In service to these people, Hobbytown USA is the perfect retail franchise. Starting a small business by this name is the perfect way to kick of a summer of relaxation and childlike joy.

If your idea of summer fun looks less like crafts and more like a tasty treat, however, don't pass up the chance to start up your own Smoothie Factory. Still on its way up the smoothie-shop ladder, this budding franchise is the perfect way to escape the heat and make a bundle doing it. Joining good health with sweet, fruity goodness, Smoothie Factory provides a combination of low-cost, high-quality health products and tasty smoothies that are sure to draw people in and keep them coming back.

If you're craving some of that summer sun, step out of the cool shade of retail and try on a franchise business called Wheel Fun Rentals. One of the top ten hottest franchises and the perfect business for a tourist town--or anywhere that people visit to enjoy the sun and the warm summer air--this rental franchise provides virtually every kind of wheeled toy you can think of. From bikes and surreys to California chariots and electric scooters, if you can think of it, they can rent it. When the sun is out, there is nowhere people want to be more than outside, going as fast as they can.

Granted, though, not everyone wants to be out in the sun, or at least not until they've gotten rid of that pasty, white glow their skin has taken on over the winter. So what business addresses this group of people? You guessed it: the tanning industry. And there is no name in tanning that's as hot as Hollywood Tans. Built on a business model of complete simplicity for owner, employee, and client alike, Hollywood Tans is one of the widest known and most trusted tanning salons in existence, making people feel like they're right there in the California sun, regardless of where they really are.

Summer is the perfect time to do at least a little traveling, and with it also being one of the most popular times of year for people to get married, some summer travels (i.e. honeymoons) have an added emotional investment that require absolute perfection. This is right where the work-at-home franchise work from home and love travel and romance with equal intensity, this home business opportunity, specializing in finding and securing spots in the most beautiful and exotic places in the world for honeymoons and destination weddings, was made for you.

When families go on vacation however, not everyone always gets to go. Generally, Fido has to stay home all by himself, and with society's treatment of our pets constantly getting better, home is often an unsatisfactory choice. As the owner of your own franchise is for the unapologetic dog-lover who doesn't mind some rough-and-tumble play under the summer sun.

The beauty of summer is that there's something for everyone, so everyone's happy. And as long as people are out and about and happy, good business follows for the smart business owner. Try one of these great franchise opportunities, and you just might be that lucky, smart business owner yourself this summer.<bio>Find more franchises, home based businesses, franchise opportunities and information for entrepreneurs at Franchise Gator.</bio>

Choosing Crohn's-friendly foods isn't the only way a sufferer can improve their condition, other treatments such as homeopathy crohns relief may also be beneficial for some. Homeopathy is a unique type of remedy that treats the person as a whole. Therefore, the type of remedy that is prescribed is based on a person's mental and physical wellbeing. The treatments administered focus on ridding the person of their specific problems. Thus, no two people will be provided with the same treatments.

In order to receive proper homeopathy crohns treatment, you will need to visit a qualified homeopath to have your condition properly accessed. That being said, the following are five examples of homeopathic treatments you may be prescribed based on your symptoms:

Note: The vast majority of homeopathy treatments are derived from natural substances that come from minerals, plants and animals. A remedy is made by diluting the natural substance through a specific process without destroying its healing properties. Most remedies are extremely diluted, taken orally, and are available in tablet, pellet or liquid forms.

Argentum nitricum: This homeopathic crohns remedy is administered to those who suffer from an upset digestive system that is also accompanied by nervousness and/or anxiety. Such a person often experiences symptoms of nausea, bloating, tummy rumbling, flatulence and sudden, intense diarrhea with a greenish hue. Diarrhea may suddenly occur after eating excessive salty or sweet foods or directly after ingesting water. In addition, a person prescribed this treatment is also likely to be impulsive, expressive, and suffer from claustrophobia issues.

Asafetida: This homeopathy crohns substance is given to those who feel as if their entire digestive tract is constricted. The individual may feel as though they have a lump moving upwards from the stomach or have a bubble in their throat. Their abdomen generally feels inflated; however, the person has difficulty passing gas for relief. This person likely has painful bouts of constipation, explosive cases of diarrhea, and possibly regurgitates small amounts of food. This individual may have strong emotions and is quick to become worked up.

Colocynthis: An individual who is experiencing sharp pains and cramping in their abdomen or pubic bone that urges them to bend double or lie down is often prescribed this homeopathy crohns. The pain that is experienced usually worsens before diarrhea passes, after drinking water or eating fruit. Many of these symptoms are also triggered by emotions, especially anger.

Lilium tigrinum: This is usually administered to a person who is constipated throughout the day but is plagued with sudden diarrhea the next morning. This person tends to feel as if there is a lump in their rectum that feels worse when they stand. This person may develop haemorrhoids, and experience tightening in their chest. The symptoms are often triggered by strong emotions, and excitement that often accelerates into feelings of irritability or rage.

Podophyllum: This remedy for homeopathy crohns is often prescribed to those who suffer from abdominal pain and cramping, and have a sinking, empty feeling in their gut that is followed by very loose, and watery, foul-smelling diarrhea. The person may also experience constipation or bowel movements that feature pasty, yellow stool with mucus. This individual tends to feel worse in the early hours of morning and later feel weak, faint or headachy afterwards. An individual who suffers from these symptoms may also experience stiff joints and muscles.

Homeopathy crohns is generally safe when administered by a professional, especially remedies that have been extremely diluted. However, it is not uncommon for a person to feel worse during treatment. This usually only occurs for a brief period and is usually not uncommon. However, extreme or prolonged side effects such as worsening or no relief from symptoms should be brought to the attention of your health care provider.

Although homeopathy may be an ideal complimentary form of treatment for Crohn's, it should not replace a doctor's advice. In addition, if you have a serious case of Crohn's with persistent symptoms, you may require medical aid for relief and to get the condition under control. Therefore, make sure you consult your health care provider about homeopathy crohns treatments before you begin. <bio>Grab your free copy of Sharon Dobson's brand new Crohn's Disease Newsletter here http://www.natural-crohns-disease-relief.com/?source=is which is overflowing with easy to implement methods to help you relieve Crohn's symptoms naturally. </bio>

The cementation process is a now-obsolete technique for making steel with the carburization of iron. Unlike modern steelmaking it increased the amount of carbon in the iron. It was apparently developed before the 17th century. The process probably originated in Bohemia in the 16th century and was in use in Bavaria in the early 1600's. The process was patented in England by Ellyot and Meysey in about 1614.

The cementation process of making steel is also called the converting process. This process consists in impregnating bars of wrought iron or soft steel with carbon, at a temperature below its melting point, and was used (chiefly in England) for the production of high carbon bars to be employed in the manufacture of crucible steel or shear steel. The bars were usually of pure Swedish iron made by the Walloon process. They are packed in layers, separated by charcoal (sometimes called cement) in fire-brick chambers (converting pots) heated externally by flues, and forming part of the cementing furnace. The top of the pot is closed with an arch of wheel swarf, which later frits and forms an air-tight cover. The furnace attains its full temperature in about 3 to 4 days, at which it is maintained about 7 to 8 days for mild heats, about 9 days for medium heats, and about 11 days for high carbon heats; the cooling down requires about 4 to 6 days. To test the progress of the operation, trial bars (test bars or tap bars) are drawn at intervals through a special small aperture, provided for the purpose, and examined. If wrought iron has been employed, the finished bars will be found covered with blisters formed by the reaction between the contained slag and the carbon, from which comes the name blister bar or blister steel; at one time this was sometimes termed German steel.

This phenomenon is absent when steel bars are treated; both products are known as cement (cemented) bars or cement steel. Bars desired of very high carbon may be retreated, and are known as doubly converted bars or glazed bars. Since the carbon penetrates from the outside inward, the percentage will decrease progressively to the center. In very mild bars there is an unaltered core of mild general steel (http://www.fisherind.com/GSindex.htm) called sap, and very hard bars are easily distinguished by being what is known as flaked, as on fracture they present bright cleavage planes. It is important to have the transition from one grade to the other as gradual as possible: when the line of demarcation is too abrupt, the process has been carried out too rapidly, and the bars are said to be flushed. If, owing to a leak in the pot, air has entered, the outside of the bars will be somewhat oxidized, and are called aired bars. If the temperature has been a little too high, so the outside has fused slightly, they are called glazed bars. Blister bars rolled or hammered down at a yellow heat are known as plated bars or bar steel.

The following are various methods suggested or tried from time to time: In Bink's process compounds of cyanogen were specified, and currents of nitrogen, carbonic oxide, and ammonia, or ammonia alone, were to be passed through decarburized molten iron. In Boullet's process iron was to be cemented with a substance consisting of sugar, horn dust or shavings, animal fat or blood, and wood charcoal dried and pulverized. In Brooman's process iron was to be melted in pots with compounds of cyanogen; such compounds might consist of charcoal, salt, brick dust or oxide of manganese, sal ammoniac, and ferrocyanide of potash. Henry Brown's process consisted in cementing iron in a granulated condition in close pots with carbon: iron which was being puddled was taken out of the furnace as soon as it became granulated, and before it was pasty; it was then broken up until it would pass through a 20-mesh screen, after which it was put in long pots with wood and cemented as usual. James Boydell's process was to cement the product obtained by puddling wrought iron melted in a cupola. In Holland's process silk waste of every kind was to be torrifled, i.e., dried at a high temperature without being carbonized, and then ground to a fine powder and used for cementing.<bio>Sarah E.
