Paint sprayers make the job easier and faster!

Pity our pioneer forefathers, who had to paint barns and houses the labor-intensive old-fashioned way. Nowadays we have paint sprayers to do the big jobs for us. Paint sprayers make painting a large surface much easier and faster than with a brush or even a roller. What's more, paint sprayers are less tiring and actually do a better job than brushes, giving a smoother finish than you could get doing it by hand.

As with any other home-improvement project, your first step is to get the right tools for the job you're doing. Paint sprayers differ in their functions and specialties, so you must first match up the equipment with the project.

For staining or waterproofing jobs, you'll want an airless sprayer. For paint jobs, your options vary.

An airless spray paint roller functions the same as a traditional paint roller, with the advantage of not having to keep refilling your tray. Use it for jobs that would normally require a paint roller.

A diaphragm paint sprayer can work with a five-gallon bucket of paint. It should be used for very large jobs, then, such as exterior walls or entire rooms.

For more ordinary jobs such as single walls or small rooms, a high-volume low-pressure sprayer is probably your best bet. They are sold in the usual home-improvement do-it-yourself centers. Being low-pressure is good because it helps prevent paint splashes.

Before buying a paint sprayer, know the type of job you'll be using it for. Ask the salesperson for advice on buying the right equipment. Consider also whether you'll be doing enough paint work to justify buying a sprayer. The old-fashioned way is a good physical workout and is much cheaper. But if the job is big enough to warrant extra equipment, you'll find a sprayer an incredible saver or time and energy. <bio>Milton Felton writes for http://www.paintsprayerworld.com, a website packed with information on airless paint sprayers and graco paint sprayers </bio>

Buying a new car can be draining yet rewarding all in one. Once the new car is off the lot and in the driveway it is like bringing home a new toy. The beautiful glisten of the brand new paint, the new car smell of the interior and the smooth acceleration of the brand new engine can make any new car owner fall head over heels for their new car. You've been taking care of that car since day one; not getting a scratch on it and washing it once a week. But you can't avoid everything. Driving to work one day you see paint splattered on the roadway but you can't move into the oncoming lane of a two lane road because you are approaching a blind bend. The paint is unavoidable. You drive the car right through the paint and it still has its strong scent. That can only mean one thing. The paint is fresh and it is now all over your brand new car.

How do you remove unwanted paint from a car? This method works but it takes a lot of time and a lot of elbow grease. The first step in removing the unwanted paint is to get the car out of the direct rays of the sun. If the paint is only on one side of the car; turn that side of the car away from the sun. Make sure you wash the car before doing anything else. There are plenty of different items that can be used for removing unwanted paint from a car. Some of them are paint thinner, goo gone and anything with acetone in it such as nail polish. Paint thinner can work but you have to be very, very careful. The paint thinner can ultimately remove the original paint from your car.

After applying these substances to the vehicle make sure you rewash the car and then put a coat of wax on the area that was covered in the unwanted paint. When removing the unwanted paint from the vehicle make sure you don't use your fingernail to scratch off the paint but use a soft rag dipped in soapy water. Spray the paint remover onto the areas of the car you are working on at the time and rub gently but with some elbow grease. Also, don't work on the same area for an extended period of time or the original paint job will begin to wear off. Move from area to area, slowly removing the unwanted paint.

Since you drove through the wet paint on the roadway, it is splattered on the tires and on the plastic covers above the wheel attached to the body of the car. Those plastic covers can be removed to clean them. Also, take off each wheel and clean it with soap and water. That should be enough to get the paint off of the wheel. If not, you can use paint thinner since there is no other paint on the wheel.

The process works but it takes a good handful of hours to get the paint completely off of the car without ruining the original paint job.<bio>Nashville Automobile Shipping Nashville Auto Transport</bio>

I love paint. There are so many kinds of paint and there are so many fun and important uses of paint. Our lives and most especially our homes would be very different without it.

Can you imagine a world, or even just your bedroom, without any paint on the walls? Imagine that all our walls were plain cement or wood. No colors and nothing to make them unique or standout from the rest. Having paint for walls and to decorate has made life easier and more beautiful. People are able to be creative and to use paint to make their homes reflect their personalities. Look around your house and see if there is a room or two that might benefit from a fresh coat of paint. You will be surprised at how different your living area can become when you simply add a little new paint.

Or think of all of the beautiful artwork that you see in homes, offices, galleries, and churches. The world would be a lot plainer without the paintings of talented artists, and we all know it takes paint to make a great painting. Have you ever wanted to try your hand at learning to paint? Now is the time. Go to your local craft store and pick out a small canvas and a few paints and go to town. Recreate an image you have seen before or imagine your own scene and paint it. Allow trying to paint to be a relaxing and fun way to spend time.

Have you ever noticed a refrigerator filled with the artwork of children? Parents love to display the creativity of their kids. Often these masterpieces took shape with paint. Allowing your children to play around with paint can be a great way to instill in your kids the value of creativity and of enjoying learning how to do something new. So grab some kid friendly paint and see what your kids come up with. Invite their friends over and making learning to paint a fun group activity. Incorporate artistic activities at birthday parties or other social events you hold for your children. They can have fun and learn at the same time.

Paint is great whether you are picking out a new color to update a room in need of remodeling or you are attempting to keep the kids entertained for a few afternoon hours. People of all ages will love to decorate and redecorate the finest homes and the oldest refrigerators using nothing but a little paint. <bio>Matthias Reightman is proud to be an advisor to anyone struggling to add color to their life.
When you are producing flower landscape oil paintings, keep in mind the short canvas blend life of oil paints. If you are producing an oil painting of a flower landscape and you need to make a change that isn't immediately effective, the best thing to do is wipe it off with your paint rag and start over. This will work for the first 24 hours after your painting, as oil paintings take this long to dry. In fact, it's important not to make too thick a first coat or you'll never get your oil paints to dry.

One important piece of oil painting advice is to clean your paint brushes each time you change colors. You do this by first wiping as much paint off the brush with a rag as you possibly can and then inserting the brush into the paint thinner. Not only will this get more oil paints off your brush, but will extend the life of your thinner as well. Swish your paint brush around in the container of paint thinner, then dry it with your clean paint rag.

When the first layer of your flower landscape oil painting creation is finished, wait 48 hours before you start on your second paint application or you're going to end up smearing the work you already did. In the meantime don't leave your oil painting somewhere hot or humid. Make sure that its location will protect it from getting accidently scraped, smooshed, smeared, or touched at all.

Should you have a lot of paint left on the palette and you want to use it when you start your flower landscape oil paintings again, scrape the paint together with your knife. Next put a small amount of paint thinner on a cleam paint rage and use it to clean the rest of your paint palette. Plastic wrap is great for covering the paint that is leftover. Make sure you wrap it tightly though.

It's important as well, that until you start again with your flower landscape oil paintings, that you replace the lid on the container of paint thinner and set it aside, no matter how cloudy it looks. The paint thinner will settle and the pigment that is part of the paint will drop to the bottom of the container.

Clean thinner will settle at the top. The next time you go back to your flower landscape oil paintings you'll only need to pour that top layer of clean paint thinner into a new and clean thinner container, and wipe the pigment off the bottom. You then pour the good paint thinner back into its original thinner container and you're ready to start your flower landscape oil painting project once again. <bio>http://oilpaintinghq.com All the information you need to know about oil paintings from reproductions to originals. </bio>

HVLP stands for high-volume, low pressure. They are more efficient and cause less over spray than standard spray paint guns. If you do a lot of spray finishing, an HVLP spray paint gun can save you money over the long run because you will use less paint. You can use your shop air compressor's powerful air output to run a spray paint gun. A trigger operated spray paint gun takes paint or finish and mixes it with high pressure air. The paint is atomized and sprayed out in a cone shape to produce a neat and controllable pattern. An experienced painter can produce very nice finishes smoothly and with a professional look. HVLP spray guns are widely used in automotive shops to produce factory quality finishes. Most HVLP spray paint guns allow you to change out nozzles for different types of finishes. Examples are lacquer, stains, paint and varnishes. However, thick latex paints are not advisable. (You can't use your HVLP spray paint gun to paint the house.) Most spray guns have a 1 quart cup that attaches below the nozzle and others have a top mounted cup. These are referred to as gravity feed spray paint guns. HVLP spray paint guns require large amounts of air to operate for continuous spraying. The paint gun manufacturer should tell you in the specs how much air is required to operate their gun.

One important thing to be aware of is that HVLP sprayers cause lots of over spray and will make a mess. It is very important to wear paint coveralls, breathing protection and eye protection. Also, masking and wheel covers are important to protect the car you are painting. HVLP spray paint guns are not precision instruments. It is more like a shot gun approach to painting. They are very good at applying a professional finish but they also blow paint everywhere. Body protection is very important when using HVLP sprayers. You can get away with minimal protection when painting a room in your house, but with these tools you need to make sure your whole body is well covered before you begin spraying. Because they out so much and in such fine mist, breathing protection is absolutely mandatory. Tiny droplets of paint will be suspended in the air and you will inhale them without a respirator mask on. <bio>Cooper has been in the construction equipment and industrial sales business for over 10 years.
Get any form of work done to your vehicle is usually a little bit stressful. You will have to spend time and money to get your car in great shape, which are two things many of us don't have a lot of. Also you want to be assured that you are getting quality workmanship done for your vehicle. Getting any form of paint work done to your car falls directly into what is mentioned above. You want to make sure that it comes out looking great and stays looking great!

When choosing a repair shop to handle any paint repairs or paint touch up you want to make sure that you first of all choose a qualified professional at a well known auto body shop. Check around and do some research so that you know they are not planning to rip you off or that they in fact do a good job. You should also ask to see an example of the work that they produce from their shop. Once you do that you should be off to a good start.

However you want to make sure that they are using the latest technology to color match your vehicles color to the new paint they are applying. The auto body shop should not be simply guessing or getting "close enough". They should be able to provide an exact match. With an exact match it will be almost impossible to tell that any paint work was ever even done on your vehicle.

Also you should check that they are using a high quality paint for your vehicle. It is important that you vehicle has a top quality paint since your paint is what acts as a protection for your cars metal body against rust and other environmental hazards. Also you want to make sure again that it is a seamless job and that it will not be too noticeable that you had paint work done.

Next you should look for an auto body shop that will give you a warranty on the paint job that paid for. That paint job is going to cost you some time and money and you want to get a guarantee that it is a quality job that will hold up against the elements. Any shop that provided a warranty for their work must have confidence that their work is of good quality. Most shops will offer the warranty for a specific time period and others will guarantee their work for the entire time you own the vehicle. This is a great option to look for when deciding which auto body shop to choose to complete your car's paint needs.

So, if you need paint touch up for your car be sure to find a qualified professional for the job. One who uses top technology paint match up, a high quality paint product and one that will guarantee the work they perform on your vehicle.
Don't get caught trying to touch up a scratch or scrape on your car's paint job with nail polish. There are some great nail polish colors that look great our toes and fingers however they don't go so well on cars. Even if you think the color is close enough it is almost guaranteed that someone else will notice the blemish. It is always better to get the job done right the first time. So if you shouldn't use nail polish, how should you fix those scratches and scrapes?

The answer to your problem is to get the paint touched up from an auto body repair shop. Don't worry; you are not alone with this dilemma since about 80% of cars on the road today need some form of touch up work done to the paint. The reason you should chose an auto body repair shop instead of nail polish is because the shop can match the touch up paint almost identical to the paint on your car. So you may be thinking you can save money by buying paint from an auto parts store. Well, that is not a good idea because it is also hard to match the color directly. Seriously, how close can you get with a one color matches all? We all know that one size does fit all so why would one color match all?

Paint touch up can be effective on paint chips, nicks, scratches, rust spots and bumper scrapes. Keep in mind that it is a touch up job and that it will not be perfect. The importance of getting the paint touched up is more for the protection of your vehicle. It protects the metal from rust and other further damage. Since the area of repair is kept to a minimum you will not spend a great deal of time waiting to get the touch up done. Also there will be a lot less out of your pocket than getting the whole area repainted.

So, if you bring your car to an auto body shop for the touch up, this is what you might expect to happen. At the auto body shop they will prepare your car for the repair by washing the area(s) thoroughly and letting it air dry very well. Then the area will be lightly sanded with the correct type of sander for automobile paint. Then a clear layer will be applied to act as a base coat. They will use their computerized system to get the color code for your car's paint color. They will most likely do a test of the color on a part of your car that is not visible. This is done as a precaution to make sure the match is correct. Then they will begin work on the problem area(s) in a straight, even, back and forth motion. After the paint is dry in all areas they will complete the repair. The last step to touching up the paint is to apply a layer of wax and buff the area. This usually does not take much time at all.

So, keep the nail polish away from your car and let the pros touch up your cars paint.<bio>If your car has some scratches and scrapes get San Diego Paint Touch Up and all of your paint touch up concerns will be a thing of the past!</bio>

Paint your own Rims? Who would have thought something previously done by professionals could be done in your own home.

While, the concept of painting your own rims has been around a few years now, many questions pop up of how to do it and I thought I would share my own experiences with painting my Integra stock rims. I have read up many examples of how to do this, but my first time trying was this year when I chose to refinish my winter rims. I was quite please with the outcome.

First, what the hell do you need to paint your rims? Paint of course :) This is where Duplicolor comes in with their wheel paint. They offer paint colors to match your style coming in white, gunmetal, classic silver and bronze as well. I chose to do mine in gunmetal leaving my lip the stock polished style look. So here are your options:

So you chose your color, bought your paint and are semi-ready. First, you need to sand down your rims. Why? This gives the surface a rough texture so the paint has something to adhere to. Reference the article to polish your rims on how sanding of the rims works. The only difference with this is how far you want to go. In my case, being winter rims painted I chose not to go through the process of stripping the paint on the rims completely. I simply sanded down the surface with 300 grit sandpaper ensuring to make everything sanded equally. This gives the rough surface required for the paint to adhere, and as long as your rims had no damage it should be good enough.

Your rims are sanded; you have your paint and now are ready. First, make sure you clean all sanding dust off the rims and ensure a totally clean surface so the paint will stick and not flake off after your first drive out with your newly painted rims!!! Here are my rims washed and ready to completely dry before painting:

My rims are masked off with newspaper and masking tape. Of course you want to do this so you don't turn your tires into the color you are painting. I don't want gunmetal painted tires. Also if you look close enough, you will know that the lip has been masked off as well. So I carefully applied the masking tape on the lip to protect it from being painted as well. Also, you know the little thing you pump your air into, mask that off as well unless you want that to have a color change as well :)

The rims are dry, you have masked off what you don't want painted and now you are ready. Put some newspaper on the ground and place the rim on top of the newspaper. You don't want to paint the concrete underneath the rim so keep it clean with the newspaper.

Now apply your first coat of paint. Let the paint dry well and next day admire your handiwork and results. <bio>Steamboat L.
Sometimes there comes a time in a vehicle's "life" that it needs a little work. Usually this happens because the owner gets busy and puts off taking the proper car of a vehicle. Then most times they end up not realizing it until after the damage is done and some form of repair needs to be completed. Many times that repair that needs to be done is getting your vehicles painted either all over or in one or a few spots. Either way this can be a big task and you need to know what to consider when getting any kind of paint work done to your vehicle.

First of all, the first to consider is where you will get the work done. You absolutely need to find a shop that produces top quality work on their paint jobs. Getting your car painted or especially just an area painted is nothing to let an amateur do for you. A paint job can easily look bad if it is not done by a professional with experience. Leave this job to the pros!

Next you want to ensure that the auto body shop you choose uses the latest technology for matching your paint. This is why you don't just paint your car yourself. A good auto body shop should have the latest technology that matches the paint on your vehicle so that in the end no one will even be able to tell that you had any work done. This is the result you should be looking for.

You also want to make sure that the auto body shop is using high quality paints. Sure, if they use a cheaper paint it will cost less, however it will also not look as good. Even if it looks good at first you face the fact that it will most likely wear down easy and start to look bad sooner than later. So, spend a little extra and make sure that your vehicle is getting a high quality paint put on it. Otherwise you may end up spending more down the road when it needs to be fixed.

Paint is not only important for your vehicles appearance but also to protect the body of your car. The paint actually acts as a sealant for the steel or metal body that your car is comprised of. So, if that sealant is broken or nonexistent it will not be able to protect your car. Eventually that will lead to your car rusting and corroding. Which is not good for the body since its job is to protect you and your passengers. It will cause the body of your vehicle to be weakened. Also it will not look very good either. A little paint missing is one thing, but rust is quite another. If you want to keep your vehicles resale value and keep it safe for you and your passengers it is important that you get a quality paint job done from a professional! Get your vehicle looking great and riding safe today.<bio>If your car is in need of auto reconditioning start looking for a qualified professional to handle your concerns. Look for an auto body professional to take care of your ride from paint touch up to fixing the major auto body repairs.</bio>

Whether you vehicle is old or new chances are you want it to look good! With that said there are many different ways to keep it looking good and different reasons why you want it to look good. It can sometimes be the simple things that keep your car in good condition. For example, getting your oil changed is a simple way to keep your engine going good for a long time. However, we are talking more about the outside appearance. To start with you should keep your vehicles paints looking great! You will find a few solutions and reasons to do so if you read on.

First of all you should start by washing your car on a regular basis. This keeps the paint clean and helps protect the coating. If you allow bugs, sap, and dirt to collect on your car's paint it starts breaking down the coating and your paint can dull or worse. So, the easiest way to protect your cars paint is by washing it which does not take a lot of time and you can easily do it yourself.

On top of washing your vehicle you should wax your vehicle quite regularly as well. A good wax every now and then can keep your vehicle looking brand new for years and years. Many people seem to overlook this process since they think it takes a long time. But in reality it doesn't take long at all if you keep up with it. The wax protects the paint from breaking down and keeps your vehicles paint looking shiny. It is well worth the time and effort of waxing.

The two above mentioned solutions you can do yourself quite simply. However if you don't have the time or desire to do it yourself you will gain the benefits of these two services which are included in a car detail. You can get a professional to do the work for you; however it will cost you a bit more.
Another way to keep your vehicles paint looking good is by taking care of any chips or cracks in your vehicles paint. These chips and cracks can happen easily from road debris or a little parking lot mishap. However if you don't get them taken care of they can cause the area around them to begin rusting. Your paint acts as a sealant for the steel that is under it, so if the paint isn't there, that steel starts rusting which is not good for your vehicle. It also just doesn't look good to have chips and cracks in your paint job. To avoid having to fix chips and cracks you may consider getting a 3M Clear bra put on your car to protect areas that are prone to having that happen, like your bumper.

Any professional auto body shop should be able to offer all the services mentioned above to keep your vehicles paint looking good. What are you waiting for; after all you want your vehicles paint to look good for a long time!<bio>If your car is in need of auto reconditioning start looking for a qualified professional to handle your concerns.
The spring and summer seasons usually bring a feeling of renewed life and an eagerness to get outdoors. These seasons also tend to bring a variety of projects that have been building up throughout the winter months. These projects can include anything from yard work, landscaping and painting the outside of your home. However, many home owners do not know what signs to look for in order to know if their home is in need of a new paint job.

A home painting can bring a fresh look to your home and can instill a renewed sense of pride and ownership for your property. However, you may be putting the project off longer than it should be because you either do not know the signs of when a new exterior house painting is needed or you are putting it off because you do not want to pay to have it repainted. Whatever the case is, a home painting is something that you probably do not want to put off for too long because you could be inadvertently causing damage to the outside of your home.

If your old paint job it beginning to look dull and faded, this could be a sign that it is time for a new paint job. Depending on where you live, extreme environmental conditions could be causing your exterior house painting to weather more quickly than it should. A good sign that it is time for a new home painting is if your current paint job is beginning to crack or peel. This could also be a sign that a low quality paint was used on your last exterior house painting. If your current paint job is cracking or peeling you should probably schedule a new paint job with your contracted painter sooner than later.

If you think your home painting is beginning to look drab and may need to be repainted, you can consult with your contracted painter to see if it is time for a new paint job. The contracted painter will have a good idea of if your home is in need of a new paint job. Along with this, when you do have a new painting completed, ask your painter how long it typically is before the home will need to be repainted. You can also consult with neighbors and friends to see how long they typically wait until they have their homes painted again.

When you do decide to have your new home painting done, talk with your painter to make sure that they are using a higher quality paint. This can help your paint job last longer and can also help protect your home from excessively weathering. Higher quality paint will also be more resistant to cracking, peeling and other problems that can arise from using low quality paint.

There are signs that you can look for in order to know if it is time for a new paint job on the outside of your home. Once you begin noticing the signs, schedule a painting because waiting too long could cause damage to your home.
If you're considering purchasing a new home, you probably want to pinch a few pennies along the way. One major way to cut back on the cost of moving into a new home is by purchasing an older home. Actually, not only does purchasing an older home help save you some money, it also helps preserve the structures of our country's past.

However, while they still seem to be in good condition upon visual inspection, many of today's older homes contain dangerous materials beneath the surface. One of the most common dangerous materials found in older homes is lead paint, and as we all know, or should know, lead paint can lead to lead poisoning -- especially in children.

You shouldn't run from a good deal just because it may contain lead paint; however, you should take all necessary measures for good home management, and this includes checking for the presence of and removing any lead paint in the home. Not only will this protect your family, but it will also help you cut the costs of homeowner's insurance. Many homeowners are required to purchase homeowner's insurance if they have borrowed money in order to pay for the home.

The beginning steps of home management are a sort of balancing act. You need to make the necessary repairs to the home before you move in, and you need to purchase homeowner's insurance. At the same time, you don't want to get a homeowner's insurance quote with dangerous chemicals in the home, such as lead paint. Have your home tested for the presence of lead paint. Remember, most homes have several layers of paint, so be sure to scrape through them all. If lead is detected in any layer of paint, get rid of it!

Getting rid of lead paint isn't just part of effective home management. It can help lower your homeowner's insurance rates as well as promote your family's health. <bio>http://www.myquoteguide.com/Car-Tips.shtml http://www.ezquoteguide.com/home/ http://www.ezquoteguide.com/car/ </bio>

One of the biggest obstacles in painting your home is knowing which types of paints to choose. Basically there are only two types of paint to use inside your home; water based latex paints and oil based paints. The difference is pretty simple actually. For the most part you'll want to use an oil-based paint for the doors, the trim, and high traffic areas - and the water based latex for the walls.

Oil based paints are usually a bit more difficult to use than water based paint. This is because oil based paints are thicker, therefore requires different types of rollers and brushes. As well, when you use oil based paints, it's best to paint in well-ventilated areas because it has a much stronger odor. The nice thing about oil-based paint is that it's available at any paint store and can be easily tinted to almost any color.

If you're using oil-based paint, it's essential to remember that you'll usually need to prime the area first. This is because they have a tendency to peel if the area is not primed correctly. This also happens if your base coat is already oil based.

You have to clean the area before you prime it. You can buy primer at any paint or home improvement store. It can either be applied like spray paint, or brushed on. When you're painting a very dark color, or if the color you're using is dark, then you may want to consider getting the primer tinted first.

Oil based paint often will bubble during the painting process. Be sure that you don't shake this paint, but rather stir it. It's also best if you try to use just one coat when using oil based. This type of paint takes longer to dry than latex paint does, so keep that in mind. Make sure you allow enough ventilation to speed up the process.

It's vital to remember that oil based paint, is considered toxic and hazardous waste. Caution should be used when disposing of it.

There are many projects that are best suited for oil paint.

For instance trim such as window trim, crown molding, bead board, or trim around doors is best done with oil paint. The reason is that this type of paint is much more durable and can take more wear and tear than latex can. As an added benefit, it's much easier to clean than latex.

As well, if you're painting a door you'll want to consider using oil. Again, being that it's easier to clean, things like smudges, fingerprints, and dirt in general will be much easier to clean off.

You may also find that some exterior projects can use oil paint such as trim around windows and doors. Other things such as metal take well to oil, but be sure never to use it on iron or fresh masonry without properly preparing and priming.

For the most part, oil based paints are effective for much of your home, and though a little more tedious to apply makes life afterwards much easier. <bio>Concentrating on news and information about portable air tanks, Kurt Schefken writes articles most often for http://www.insidewoodworking.com .
Paint-on teeth whiteners are another form of professional tooth whitening systems designed to be used at home. They are different from other tooth whitening delivery devices in that the only item used is a brush to paint on the tooth whitening gel =96 nothing is required to stick to the teeth except the solution. Many people claim paint-on teeth whiteners are very effective although they are not without their own drawbacks.

Paint-On Teeth Whiteners =96 How Do They Work?

The process of applying paint-on teeth whiteners is simple. The bleaching "paint" comes in a kit along with a brush. You must simply use the brush to paint the teeth, covering your dentures as best you can. After a while the paint begins to solidify into a film coating of sorts and as you leave it on your teeth it slowly does its bleaching work. It is advised that you dry your teeth before applying the whitener, either via air drying or with a towel.

Its success depends on how long and how well the paint-on teeth whitener is in contact with your teeth. The recommended use for most paint-on products is twice a day, at 30 minutes per session.

Paint-On Teeth Whiteners =96 What Goes In The Paint?

The same solution used in other home tooth whitening products, carbamide peroxide, which is a variant of hydrogen peroxide and the solution of choice for most tooth whitening dental products. Some paints use different strengths of this solution; check the label for exact concentrations. The amount of carbamide peroxide used is usually not more than 22% because then it can be harmful to the gums and skin tissue. Dental solutions are generally in the 6-15% concentrationrange, paint-on teeth whiteners included.

Paint-On Teeth Whiteners =96 Are There Drawbacks?

Paint-on teeth whiteners are proven to be effective although there are a couple of drawbacks when it comes to application. For example, you must be careful not to close your mouth before the solution dries. This can present a bit of a challenge, especially if you are using whiteners designed for use while you sleep =96 you might nod off before the solution is dry!

Also of concern is the fact that paint-on teeth whiteners sometimes easily wash away and come off. This means that teeth may come out unevenly bleached. Again, you must be careful to dry your teeth before applying the paint as this will ensure better application and adhesion.

Paint-On Teeth Whiteners =96 Are There Better Alternatives?

There are obvious alternatives like the use of a tooth whitening tray, strips, toothpastes, or a trip to a dentist. Whether they are better or not is a matter of preference and experience. Some people swear that custom-made tooth whitening trays are superior in every way; others enjoy using tooth whitening strips as they are less cumbersome than trays. You'd do well to examine all the major products available, read their reviews, the cost involved, then decide on what suits you, your lifestyle, and ultimately your budget. <bio>Belinda Sinclair empowers men and women to increase their Wow Factor through personal development and image makeovers.
If you are the person who loves color then you will surely not rest until you find the walls of your abode filled with your choice of shades and hues. And for such a project, all you need is a good pail of paint. And in choosing the paint that you want, here a few tips that might help you.

In planning to paint something, particularly a wall, it is important that you take action to prepare the space that you are going to be painting on. Remove all the stuff that seems to have made your wall their residence. This could include an old sticky tape, an even older bubble gum ball, dust and dirt, and the old paint that seem to be peeling from all sides and corners. Treat cracks and holes by patching them in with cement. Painting on an unclean area could give you twice the trouble and even create such a mess. Instead of getting a freshly painted yellow room, what you get is a dirty and uneven wall and cleanup after would not only be tedious but exasperating. You would not want that for sure.

In preparing your room, you also need to ensure that you will have good lighting. Painting a dark room is definitely not a good idea. You may want to take out all the furniture and fixtures in the room. You do not want to spray paint on your glass table or mahogany chairs. Everything should be clean and ready before you start that paint job. Painting a room may take more time than you would have thought. So you need not only prepare your walls and the room but you need to prepare yourself to spend time on the task as well.

Clear your schedule for the day. The job may even take a day or two so if you need to work, you should well plan ahead and tell your office in advance that you need to take some time away from work to attend to a home project. You may want to ask other family members to join you to get the job faster. This way you not only quicken your pace, you also get to spend with them some precious bonding time in the process.

Next thing to do is to figure out what color of paint you should purchase. Various colors of paint will surely greet you when you get to the store. And it may take you quite some time banging your head around on which color is best. Thinking about the color before hand saves you precious minutes and also saves you the funny looks from other shoppers when they find you staring back and forth on the color filled pails.

Aside from knowing which color you like to paint on your walls, you need to know how much your budget is as well. Paint may seem like a simple matter but it can be expensive. Paint comes with different prices and costs depending upon the brand or the quality or the use of the paint. If you are not careful, you could be spending on more than you have anticipated for. <bio>James Brown writes about http://www.luxuryhomeremodel.com </bio>

If you've thought about doing oil paintings, here are some basics to get you started.

The first step in your production of oil paintings is to make sure that the area in which you are going to paint is well ventilated. You need a window or door that can be opened as you work, a good fan and a space that is fairly open so air is able to circulate.

If you are going to work on your oil paintings outside you'll have to be able to secure everything so the wind doesn't end up blowing things all over. Keep in mind that bees, and various other insects will flock to your citrus thinner. The first thing to do is put down your drop cloth, your tarp, your plastic bag and so forth. Secure the edges of each by using masking tape. This will keep it from getting bunched up. You're going to set up your oil paintings work area on the drop cloth so make sure the area is roomy enough for your comfort. If you are going to work on your oil paintings with a table easel set up on a table, you'll want to cover the floor below the table top and the place where you will stand or sit.

Before you start painting your oils, don your paint attire - gloves included. You'll need one container that has paint thinner and one container that holds a combination of two parts paint thinner and one part walnut oil. These containers should be about three inches high and two inches around. Each should be filled to the half way mark. You'll need a comfortable set up with an easy reach for your paint palette and knife, your brushes, the two containers, as well as paint rags and tubes.

Now set up the paints you'll use for your oil paintings. If you have a variety of colors, you don't need all of them squeezed out onto your paint palette. Start with just two or three colors. If your choices are only primary colors, then squeeze out onto your palette a dime size spot of cadmium red, yellow and blue. Space them as far from each other on the palette as possible, as if you are putting dots on the three points of a triangle. In the center of this paint triangle squeeze a nickel-size spot of Titanium white oil paint. Next use your knife to mix these colors.

Now you're ready to really start creating your oil paintings. <bio>http://oilpaintinghq.com All the information you need to know about oil paintings from reproductions to originals. </bio>

As bird lovers, there are a couple of things that you should bear in mind when you decide to redecorate your home, or that of your precious feathered friend. Apparently that 'canary in a coal mine' situation isn't the stuff of sayings and folklore. Well into the twentieth century coalmines did not have adequate ventilation systems. So miners in the UK and the United States would keep canaries in cages in the mines. These beautiful, little yellow birds are especially sensitive to methane and carbon monoxide -- so as long as the canary kept singing then the air was safe. A deceased canary signaled an immediate evacuation.

The canary in a coalmine story has strong implications for us bird lovers. All animals are sensitive to toxic fumes, but birds are the most sensitive of all and we need to consider how our actions can affect them.

One of the greatest threats to air quality in a home is the use of paint. Newly decorated walls can off-gas volatile organic compounds and toxins for up to six years after application. Therefore, although many people know to remove their birds when redecorating their home, even bringing the birds back in when that new paint smell has gone, may still not be enough to protect them from harmful toxins.

It is important also to remember this basic principal when repainting your bird's cage. Instead of using normal paint and going through the trouble of drying it and making sure that your bird doesn't scratch it and ingest flakes, you may want to look at bird safe paint. Odorless paint means that the paint doesn't contain any toxins or vocs. That new paint smell comes from the solvents that are used in paint to help the paint harden. No voc paint means that they don't contain any solvents and so are safe to use around your birds and are actually better for the environment too.

There are a couple zero voc paints on the market and some of them come in a wide variety of colors and different finishes -- always remember to read the label to ensure that the paint is actually completely toxin and voc free. Some paints call themselves low voc but actually contain high levels of the stuff that can be dangerous for your birds.

When you have found your bird paint there are a couple of things to bear in mind. Never paint the cage when the bird is in there. Better yet, move your bird to another room or out of the house and make sure that the room is well ventilated. However, if you are using a truly no voc paint then this should not be much of a problem, but all other paints are going to require heavy ventilation to protect your pet. Also make sure that they cage is properly covered without any collection of paint at the joints etc, as this can easily be picked off and ingested. And remember, don't bring your bird back into the room until that new paint smell has gone -- unless of course you are using odorless paint with zero vocs, and then you can paint away with your bird on your shoulder!<bio>Delilah Jones has a passion for zero VOC paints and the impact to consumer safety. She is also interested in how a 100 percent non toxic paints and low odor paints can correlate.</bio>

Painting your home is a good home improvement project for anyone who is handy. If you have decided to take on your own home painting project, read this article for some tips. It might make the difference between a good job and a great job.

The first thing you should do is gather all of the supplies that you need. Do not skimp. Instead buy all of the necessary supplies and a few extras. You can always return unopened merchandise. You will need paint brushes in various sizes, rollers, tarps, painters tape and a variety of other items. Ask for help at the paint department for advice on what else to buy.

After you have bought the supplies you will need to buy the paint. Before you go to the store you need to calculate your wall space. Take the width times the height and add up all of the walls. Do not forget the ceilings if you are painting them. Take the total and look at the spread rate on the paint to determine how much you need. Buy a little extra to account for waste and so that you have paint to do touchups with.

Lastly before you actually start painting you need to do extensive prep work. Move furniture out of the way if possible and put tarps over non movable furniture and floors. Use painters tape to mask off areas not being painted. Also take the time to fill in any cracks and holes in the wall. Take your time with the prep work and the painting job will go smoothly.

I hope this article has been of help to you with your home painting project. If this seems like too much work or too much of a mess you should consider hiring a professional painter to do the work for you. It is surprisingly affordable and much much easier. Good luck to you. <bio>Visit http://www.thepainterlist.com for more information on house painting. </bio>

Older homes do not come without any problems and cracked and dry Venetian plaster is just one problem that you may have to contend with. If you do not have a lot of money then you may be wondering how you can repair the plaster without having to spend a fortune. Luckily there is a way and it is known as and#8216;paint-n-texand#8217;.

How Paint-n-Tex Could Help to Repair Your Home

You need to start by clearing any pictures and decorative objects away from the walls and cleaning everything up so that there is no dirt or dust lying around. Then you need to protect the flooring and so it would be a good idea to have some painters plastic which can spread out around the area you are treating.

Then it is time to prepare the walls and you can do this with a drywall knife. Simply scrape the cracks and do not worry about any chips in the plaster or paint as it is likely to happen and it can be fixed. As soon as all of the raised types of cracks have been scraped down to size, you should then start to mix the drywall compound and ensure that you follow the directions. Once applied allow it to dry and then sand the area down with a 220 grit piece of sandpaper. If you find that the cracks in your wall are not that bad then you can simply miss out the scraping step.

Now it is time to use paint-n-tex. You can basically pick up paint-n-tex from any good hardware store and it is priced quite cheaply too. Within each box of paint-n-tex you will find two bags of the Tex material. You simply need to remember that you should use one bag for every gallon of paint that you are using. Once you know how much to use, pour the Tex into the paint can and mix them together. You should notice that it becomes thick and when it does you just pour it into a tray and use a rough roller to apply it onto the wall. Try not to go over the area too much and you should be ok.

Overall paint-n-tex works for any color of paint and it is inexpensive to purchase. It is not hard to repair the walls yourself and providing you clean the walls before hand, you should end up with brilliant results. <bio>Adam Peters is the author of many articles on subjects like wall textures and published at http://www.home-decorating-reviews.com .
