<content:encoded><![CDATA[Everyone knows that the diary itself has been around for a very long time. Had it not, such legends as <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/nostradamus" rel="tag">Nostradamus</a> would not have written down their <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/revolutionary+thoughts" rel="tag">revolutionary thoughts</a> and ideas. Also a part of diary history is the promotional diary. Diaries have been promotional since their blank pages began being bound together within leather covers. <br><br>At first, the promotional diary consisted of a name or an inscription written in ink. Over time, the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/personalisation" rel="tag">personalisation</a> would be embossed into the leather. Eventually, the embossed personalization would be filled with a special ink or material. This has seemed to be the method that has stuck. You can also find a promotional diary that has the personalisation printed on the front of it. The technology has been there for a long time, so the overall process is rather simple. That means finding the perfect promotional diary is not a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/daunting+task" rel="tag">daunting task</a>.<br><br>Choosing that perfect promotional diary<br><br>The perfect promotional diary depends on the person it is for. People like different colours, materials, and different page types. When buying a promotional diary as a gift, you may not know all of this information. However, you can look at a person's personality and get a good idea of what suits them. <br><br>If the person you're buying the promotional diary for is a very happy and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/outgoing+person" rel="tag">outgoing person</a>, then a colourful diary may be the right choice. If they are very reserved, something in brown or black might be a good route to take. The overall process is really not so bad because the recipient is going to be appreciative of it and will more than likely use it for whatever they feel they need to use it for. Some people will use a promotional diary to write down their <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/thoughts+and+feelings" rel="tag">thoughts and feelings</a> and others use them to write poetry. Both of these show how versatile the promotional diary can be. <br><br>Choosing one for yourself<br><br>As for choosing one for yourself, that is going to be easier than choosing one for someone else. You have the opportunity to look at the different styles available to you. You just never know, someone else may see your promotional diary and wonder where in the world you got that from. At least then you'll know that it would make the perfect gift for them if a holiday or a special occasion was to come up. <br><br>And speaking of special occasions, whether you're buying a promotional diary for yourself or someone else, they are great for birthdays, Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, and so many other occasions. Most of all, they make a great "just because" gift. If you want to give someone a gift just to show them that you care, this is a great way to do it. <br><br>So there is no doubt about the fact that a promotional diary makes the perfect gift for virtually any occasion. Just make sure that when buying one for someone else that you buy one for yourself. They are such a great thing to have.<bio>Miles Lovegrove is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of <a href='http://www.fluidbranding.com/products/diaries.html'> promotional diary</a> items and other <a href='http://www.fluidbranding.com/'>Promotional Products</a> at www.fluidbranding.com. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/obesity+surgery" rel="tag">Obesity surgery</a> is a serious decision to make if you are obese and wish to lead a healthier life. There are many complications that can occur in addition to the benefits. For example, if you have <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/stomach+stapling" rel="tag">stomach stapling</a> done you may pop a staple at some future point after the surgery. If you get a band it could slip. Either way you'll need corrective surgery. <br /><br /> Beneficially your stomach will be much smaller in size and unable to hold as much food, which in turn should allow you dramatic weight loss. Just because your stomach is smaller doesn't necessarily mean that your appetite will be smaller after you recover. Some <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/people+find" rel="tag">people find</a> that initially their appetite is dramatically reduced but after their bodies heal from the surgery old habits return. This can be especially difficult if you are used to eating quickly and ordering large amounts of food. <br /><br /> You should write a personal note to yourself or several copies of the same note that say something to the effect of 'Remember to chew slowly and pay attention to how much food you are eating.' After an obesity surgery you will fill up very quickly and can <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/inadvertently" rel="tag">inadvertently</a> make yourself sick. <br /><br /> It is possible to find ways to cheat on your new weight loss plan and thus regain your weight. One of these is simply to 'graze' all day. Even if you can only eat small amounts at a time you can still gain weight if you constantly eat tiny portions of high calorie foods during the day. This is unfortunent and a common occurrence in patients with whom the obesity surgery doesn't take. <br /><br /> Also continuing a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/sedentary+lifestyle" rel="tag">sedentary lifestyle</a> will hinder your efforts. Its important to start and stay active. One way to stay active and a suggested way for obesity surgery patients is walking. <bio>Read more <a href="<a href="http://www.obesity-surgery-<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/diary" rel="tag">diary</a>.com">http://www.obesity-surgery-diary.com.</a>/sitemap.html"><a href="http://www.obesity-surgery-diary.com">http://www.obesity-surgery-diary.com.</a>/sitemap.html</a> and <a href="<a href="http://www.obesity-surgery-diary.com">http://www.obesity-surgery-diary.com.</a>/obesity-surgery-diary-com-index.htm"><a href="http://www.obesity-surgery-diary.com">http://www.obesity-surgery-diary.com.</a>/obesity-surgery-diary-com-index.htm</a> or visit our <a href="http://www.obesity-surgery-diary.com">http://www.obesity-surgery-diary.com.</a>. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Are you in the habit of keeping a scrapbook or diary? Would you like to start? Keeping a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/personal+scrapbook" rel="tag">personal scrapbook</a> has become immensely popular in recent years. Scrapbooks are a great way of preserving your memories. Did you know you could combine your scrapbook with photos into a permanent, professionally bound keepsake? It's easy, really. Many online photo gallery websites allow you to create <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/photo+books" rel="tag"><a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/photo+book" rel="tag">photo book</a>s</a>. You can use this ability to create photo books to put together your scrapbook or diary.<br><br>The first thing you have to decide is what sort of photo books you want to create. Is it going to be more of a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/visual+diary" rel="tag">visual diary</a>, or more of a scrapbook? If you want to make a visual diary, it's simple. You write your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/diary+entries" rel="tag">diary entries</a>, take photos, and load them into your computer. If you wrote the entries by hand, you will need to type them up. Once they are in the computer, you must organize them into <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/diary+pages" rel="tag">diary pages</a>. The next step is to upload them to an online gallery site that allows you to hire them to print photo books for you. Then, you arrange the pages as you want them, and order the photo book. You now have a professionally printed photo book version of your diary.<br><br>If you prefer a scrapbook to a diary, you must approach it differently, but it is still quite simple to make. The first thing you must do is assemble the various tidbits you want to include in the scrapbook. Then you must write any text that goes with them. You must also organize them into individual pages, and decide on both the words and text that will go on each page. That done, you do must next digitize all the stuff you want in the scrapbook. Digital photos are easy; they're probably already in your computer.<br><br>For all those little tidbits and scraps that make a scrapbook what it is, you must now decide how you want to include them in your scrapbook. For example, you can paste them into the printed pages, maybe even attaching them to the pages with the photos on them. You can also leave blank pages when you plan out the book, so that you have spaces for each of the scraps for your scrapbook. You could also approach it the high tech way. You can take whatever scraps you intend for your scrapbook and digitize them.<br><br>There are two ways of digitizing scraps for your scrapbook. The first is pretty obvious---you take pictures of them with your digital camera. This is easy and you can load the pictures directly onto a gallery site for purposes of printing the book. The other approach, less obvious but also pretty easy, involves scanning the objects. You can buy a simple but high quality flatbed scanner at any computer store very cheaply. The process of scanning is simple, and after you scan you basically have a digital photo of whatever you put on the scanner bed (the flat part where you put what you want copied).<bio>MJ Johnston writes for a variety of websites, including Hoorray, a photo sharing site that offers the quickest and easiest way to build a <a href="http://www.freeonlinephotoalbum.org" title="free online photo album">free online photo album</a>, as well as <a href="http://www.freeonlinephotostorage.org" title="free online photo storage">free online photo storage</a>.</bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[You <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/resolve" rel="tag">resolve</a> to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/stop+smoking" rel="tag">stop smoking</a>, drinking, overeating, being lazy etc. etc. on New Years Eve. You look at a gift from a friend, idly open it and find yourself staring at a beautiful <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/diary" rel="tag">diary</a>. You resolve, to record your deeds and thoughts faithfully in the diary from the New Year onwards! <br /><br /> Time passes on...... Another New Year approaches and you happen to look at the diary and the 360 blank pages it contains -- What happened to your resolve. This is the fate of most diaries. They remain blank and so many trees were cut down to make them. <br /><br /> The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dictionary" rel="tag">dictionary</a> describes the diary as a record of events, transactions or observations kept daily or at frequent intervals, especially a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/daily+record" rel="tag">daily record</a> of personal activities, reflections or feelings. In real life, most of us use a diary to record forthcoming appointments and nothing else. If you are an accountant, as a method of easy record keeping, you may jot down the daily balance of the various accounts operated by your office. <br /><br /> I happened to peep into the diary of my seven year old niece -- her school insisted on each student maintaining a record of daily activities and their musings -- and I found an entry which goes like this... I hate all of them ... I just could not fathom anything from this jotting. Why or what she hates. To date it continues to be an unsolved mystery. <br /><br /> Up until the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/seventeenth+century" rel="tag">Seventeenth century</a>, diary-writing was an unknown practice. Over the last three and a half centuries diary writing has developed to reflect and shape changes in the conception of self. Most of the diaries contain mere reproduction of daily activities. The exceptions are those which carry the emotions, deepest fear, and other uncertainties. <br /><br /> Diaries meant primarily for writer's use alone exhibits a frankness not to be found in any other articles written for publication. Renaissance period saw a flurry of activity in recording in the diary form. The diary of Samuel Pepys is the most famous diary in English. Some of the other famous diaries are by <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/james+boswell" rel="tag">James Boswell</a>, Fanny Burney, John Evelyn, Andre Gid, Jonathan Swift and Virginia Woolf <br /><br /> Diaries come in various sizes and shapes. In the top price bracket you have designer diaries covered with fine leather and nicely bound. The bottom line is a small 2 by 2 inch day diary which is easy to carry in person to record and check daily appointments. Of course nowadays everything is digital, so if you are comfortable with technology then you will be most at home with a PDA. <br /><br /> Find more info at <a href="http://www.diaryheaven.info" >http://www.diaryheaven.info</a> <bio>Lucy Bartlett is a proud contributing author. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ I bet the title scared at least half of you. What would the world learn if you opened your diary and let them read it? Would it be the next best selling horror, romance or science fiction novel? Really, you don't have to answer that, and you really don't have to share that journal=85unless you want to. The idea though, of using your diary with your computer is an easy way to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/make+money+online" rel="tag">make money online</a> free. <br /><br /> Am I telling you to spill the inner most secrets of your diary and promote scandal and to help you make <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/easy+money" rel="tag">easy money</a> online for free! Yes, I am. Your diary however is not paper and pen, it is your keyboard and your computer. And the book itself that you are writing in is really a program, a website called a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/blog" rel="tag">blog</a>. Unless you live in a cave you should have at least heard of a blog. Ok, fine I'll give you a definition, it is a weblog which is a journal that is frequently updated and intended for the general public. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site. <br /><br /> The nice thing about blogs, is that they are free for you to have, own, author. Oh, the even better part is that you can make money with them. Blogs are the best way to make easy money online free. There places like blogspot.com, blogdrive.com, blogger.com and the list goes on. Join one of these free services they offer templates for you to set up your webpage, or blog and they offer somewhat of a tutorial to help you get started. You go in and create a post, daily preferably. What do you post about? Anything that you would like, telling a story, writing an article about something you are educated about, observations that you have made. The blog is going to reflect your interest. <br /><br /> You then place ads or links to different products and services on your blog, this is where you make money. Now you aren't selling anything. The links and ads are just there, you aren't out pushing products. All you are doing is keeping a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/web+diary" rel="tag">web diary</a>. You will use affiliate programs. What these are, are programs that various companies offer to help them cut promotion cost in exchange, you get to make a commission every time someone uses your link to buy what the company has to offer. All you do is place the link on your blog. The same goes for the ads that you can place. Do an internet search of affiliate programs and decide what one's you want to use. My word of caution here, don't just put any link or product on your site. Make sure it is for a good company and/or product, because you are staking your reputation on those ads. You want to be seen as credible. Unless the purpose of your blog is to expose every rip off out there. Then by all means, use any link. There isn't an easier way to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/make+money+online+free" rel="tag">make money online free</a>. <br /><br /> To help with the advertising you can use Google AdSense. Blog sites such as blogger.com have in their templates the option of using Google AdSense. If you click this option, then Google places ads that are relevant to what you are writing about on the blog. People use those ads from your blog and then you make money from that. You would be silly to not let Google help you make money. <br /><br /> So the time is now, get ready to divulge those deep dark intriguing insights that you have bottled up, and put them out there on your blog and discover the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/easy+way+to+make+money" rel="tag">easy way to make money</a> online free. Yes do it, right now, I want to read it. <bio>Yoshi Kundagawa is a freelance journalist. He writes about entrepreneurs and working from home. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ For those of you who are about to read this, congratulations on making the first step. How do I know you're making the first step? Because I too started with reading up on different ways to ensure my diet was a success and searched <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/google" rel="tag">Google</a> for hours before finally deciding that a weight loss diary was definitely the way to go. Some of you may already be thinking that you just do not have the time to fit in a weight loss diary that you complete every day, but that is the beauty of it, its simple, quick and a great motivational tool. <br /><br /> What is a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/diet+diary" rel="tag">diet diary</a>? <br /><br /> A diet diary is a simple way to be able to track not only your weight loss and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/measurements" rel="tag">measurements</a> but also can include a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/food+diary" rel="tag">food diary</a> so you can see which foods are causing you to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/lose+weight" rel="tag">lose weight</a> slower in certain weeks. A diet diary allows you to be able to take control of your eating habits making it possible for you to not only lose weight but to also learn proper ways of eating. <br /><br /> One of the main reasons we usually have such a hard time losing weight is because we go over the calorie limit we are allowed to effectively lose weight without even realizing it, a diet diary stops this from happening. We not only become aware of what times of day that we are eating the wrong foods and what foods make us bloated etc but we also can easily make sure that we stay well within out limit and get to our <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/weight+loss+goal" rel="tag">weight loss goal</a> a lot sooner. <br /><br /> A diet diary can include what ever categories you want it to; it is made especially for you. A few examples of what you should definitely include are daily meals such as breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, a section to include what exercise you have undertaken for the day, your measurements, your weight and even a section on goals that you may want to achieve, short and long term. <br /><br /> How to get started? <br /><br /> The most common way today to keep a diet diary is of course online. It is so much easier to update and change and there are so many sites that provide sections such as blogs or forums where you can not only keep your diary but also talk with other people who are going through the exact same things as you are. Losing weight is not easy but is made so much easier with the help and support of people who are in the same boat as you. Statistically those who have support stay motivated for a lot longer than those who start and try to stick to a diet alone.<br /><br /> <br /><br /> The best site I have found to date is <a href="http://www.myweightlossdiary.com" >http://www.myweightlossdiary.com</a> it has a great community of people, allows you to keep your own blog for free, it also doesn't matter what diet you are on everyone can join. I know that being a member of the site helped me stay on track for a lot longer than I would have without the support and motivation I received from the members. <br /><br /> Why should you start a diary? <br /><br /> Well if you aren't already convinced that keeping a diet diary is going to assist you with your weight loss, keep reading! I have tried every diet under the sun and kept continuously failing, only to end up heavier than when I had started my diet, I had and still have a lot of weight to lose but this time I have stayed on track for over 15 weeks, my secret? I have been keeping a diary. <br /><br /> Each week I record what I eat, my measurements and my weight. Each week when I look at the figures in front of me showing how much I have lost I am motivated to keep on going for yet another week. While each week the amount might seem small when they are all added up in your diary it really shows how much of a difference you are making to your body. Try holding up a tape measure and showing how much you have lost off your waist and then telling yourself that it just isn't working. <br /><br /> Other positives are that it is free to do it, can be done in around 5 minutes or less a day and if you do it online you get to meet a fantastic group of people who you may even live near and be able to meet up for exercise groups with. <br /><br /> Getting started with your diary- Some fail proof tips. <br /><br /> 1. Keep it simple. Make sure when you are planning out what to include or what to do for your diary that it is easy to maintain. We all know how it is so easy to run out of time and how most of us lose interest in things easily, so by making sure that we keep it simple and easy to fill in and keep up to date we are making sure it has continuity. <br /><br /> 2. Be honest, if you have a bad day and eat things that you aren't supposed to, write them down too. But don't just include the food that you ate, write about how it made you feel. You will then be able to look back and make connections to what kinds of food you eat when you are emotional. <br /><br /> 3. Include motivational pictures, whether they are of a thinner you or just of clothing that you would like to buy in a smaller size. Cut out magazine clippings. Make sure they are reasonable though and that you aren't trying to get to an unreasonable weight due to how body image is advertised. <br /><br /> The best thing about keeping a diary is that after a while you will learn the calorie count in most foods and it won't take you as long to complete each day. It will also allow you to see your progress and keep motivated. So if you are still sitting here reading this why not pop on over to <a href="http://www.myweightlossdiary.com" >http://www.myweightlossdiary.com</a> and have a look at some blogs and posts that people have written about their weight loss so far and inspire yourself to get started on the same path. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/" rel="tag"></a>My Secret World by Imagine is not a typical game. It is more of an interactive diary than a game. You can use it to track your mood and keep notes on day-to-day activities. Doing certain activities will unlock new activities for you to do within the game.<br><br>My 10 year old daughter has dozens of diaries. Not that she ever uses any of them other than for scribbling in. Still people keep buying them for her, probably just because they're cheap, and would be good value for money if they were ever used.<br><br>The latest diary she has been given is My Secret World by Imagine for the DS. This was a freebie that came with her new DS (after losing the last DS for several months, only for it to turn up two days after we bought her a new one). Maybe the extra interactivity included with this diary will actually encourage her to use it we thought. Well occasionally she has written "hello" on some of its pages, but not much else.<br><br>The first thing you notice when starting My Secret World by Imagine is the everything is sideways so you need to turn the DS around. This gives the title more of a physical diary feel and it is a nice touch. It's also nice that you require a passcode to use the diary, so you really can keep secrets on it. You can even put an extra password over a single page or, unusually, even a single word. That lets you show your diary to your friends without them seeing the name of your crush.<br><br>Strangely the avatars in the game can be created as male or female, but if it is your personal avatar, it can only be female. I understand that it is aimed at girls but it is as if they want to discourage boys from using it all together.<br><br>As we know young people often love customising their stuff. From mobile phone ring tones, to myspace pages, to bedroom walls. This is why customising your diary is one of the main purposes of Imagine: My Secret World. So even if the diary isn't used for writing about your boyfriend troubles, it will probably look nice (nice in the eyes of the person that customised it anyway). It can be customised with colours, design and by placing stickers everywhere and also creating a look for your avatar.<br><br>When you use My Secret World by Imagine for the first time you need to fill out your biography. What are your likes dislikes favourite animal and that sort of thing. This information can be shared with friends using the Wi-Fi connection (or by speaking to them if you prefer).<br><br>Once you do this you unlock the first quiz. The quiz is actually a personality test which asks probing questions about the likes of borrowing your sister's clothes or if you like to wear make-up. At the end of the test you are given a description of your personality.<br><br>Once this is done you can unlock the first mini-game. In this game the player must copy and imagine from one screen to the other by placing stickers in the correct places. It is a poorly thought out and dull challenge but completing it unlocks the next quiz, and the cycle continues until all 4 games have been unlocked.<br><br>As an adult male, I see it hard to understand the appeal of Imagine: My Secret World. When I saw how my 10 year old girl enjoyed the title however... I am still of the same opinion, as she gave up on it even quicker than I did. And three weeks later she hasn't used it since.<bio>If this review still hasn't put you off <a href="http://www.imagine-mysecretworld.co.uk/imagine-mysecretworld-ds.php">My Secret World by Imagine on DS</a> might do a better job. At least it will tell you where you can spend the least money on My Secret World by Imagine.</bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[As a child, you may have kept a diary to record your daily activities, your hopes, and your fears. If you wrote in the diary each day, it might have seemed as if the diary itself had become one of your best friends. As you grew older, the diary might have become a record of your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/job+search" rel="tag">job search</a>, love life, or wedding plans. Psychologists, in fact, tell us that writing down your goals can be the first step to achieving them. It has been demonstrated that individuals who kept a written record of their hunt for employment were more likely to find the job they wanted than those who did not. <br /><br /> It's not surprising, then, that some dieticians recommend keeping a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/food+diary" rel="tag">food diary</a> or journal if you're hoping to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/lose+weight" rel="tag">lose weight</a>. If you're not accustomed to writing, the idea can seem a bit daunting at first. After all, if you don't seem to have the time to record all of your baby's "firsts"--the first words, the first steps, the first day of reciting the alphabet--how can you be expected to find the time to write down everything that passes through your lips? It's a valid question; however, if you stop to consider just how much time you spend eating, surely you can find the time to write down what you eat. <br /><br /> The key to keeping a food diary is motivation. You have to have a desire to record your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/food+choices" rel="tag">food choices</a>. One good way to do this is to place a picture of your heaviest self onto the cover of a notebook. Also, make sure that you keep the notebook in full view, either on your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/bedside+table" rel="tag">bedside table</a> or on the kitchen table. This could provide you with just the incentive you need to make note of what you're eating. Another motivating factor could be to log your daily weight at the beginning of each <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/diary+entry" rel="tag">diary entry</a>. That way, you can see if your dietary choices are having an effect on your weight. If you find that you are shedding pounds, you can affix a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/gold+star" rel="tag">gold star</a> next to your entry. The gold star can provide the psychological boost necessary to continue to lose weight. <br /><br /> Of course, the next question you'll face is: What exactly should I write down for each entry? To begin with, just include a running list of foods, along with portion sizes. You might be surprised to find out not only what you're eating, but also how large the portions are. Next, categorize each food entry. Is it a fruit, vegetable, whole grain, or fat? Such information could be vitally important in determining where your excess pounds are coming from. <br /><br /> You can also use your journal for meal planning. If you think about what you should eat ahead of time, you'll be less likely to indulge in the wrong foods. Such planning can make you feel more organized and more in control--two important elements for losing weight. <br /><br /> If you indulge in comfort food every once in a while, don't panic. Eating high-calorie foods occasionally can help prevent a feeling of deprivation which can lead to overeating. The key is to eat "bad foods" in moderation. It is also important that you write down everything you eat, including fatty foods. Trying to hide your food choices by not writing them down is counter-productive and could lead to feelings of guilt. <br /><br /> Yet another helpful idea is to write down your goal weight each day. This can be an important element of psychological warfare. Knowing what your goal is--and mapping out a way to get there--can improve your chances of achieving critical milestones. <br /><br /> Also, when possible, try to make your diary experience fun. Do your writing on the patio, by the pool, or in your bathtub. Set the mood by playing some of your favorite music in the background. Decorate your diary by using colored pens or colorful stickers. Whatever you can do to make your diary-keeping chores more interesting will certainly be helpful. <br /><br /> Be aware of the fact that it could take you a while to get into the diary-keeping habit. But, once you see those pounds melt away, you'll find it's well worth the investment of time and energy. <bio>Burt Cotton - <a href="http://www.weightloss-guide.org" >http://www.weightloss-guide.org</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Have you ever taken $20 out of an ATM and wondered later where it went? Start keeping a daily spending <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/diary" rel="tag">diary</a> to keep track of where your money goes. Try it out for one week and you'll be amazed at how much you can spend on the little things like coffee, eating out and entertainment. Here's how to do it: <br /><br /> Take a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/blank+piece+of+paper" rel="tag">blank <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/piece+of+paper" rel="tag">piece of paper</a></a> and create a column for each day of the week, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/monday+through+friday" rel="tag">Monday through Friday</a>. <br /><br /> Put the piece of paper in your wallet or purse =96 somewhere where you can have it with you at all times. <br /><br /> Make a note of every single penny that you spend =96 This is very important, if you forget to write down a coffee here and a soda there, you won't have a complete picture of how you're spending your money by the end of the week. <br /><br /> At the end of the week quickly order the items that you <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/spent+money" rel="tag">spent money</a> on throughout the week into the following categories: Food, transportation, entertainment, clothing, housing and other. Next add up your expenses in each category. Here's an example of one day: <br /><br /> Monday <br /><br /> Coffee - $2.75 Food: $10.60 <br /><br /> Bus fare - $3.00 Transportation: $3.00 <br /><br /> Lunch =96 $7.85 Entertainment: $2.50 <br /><br /> Magazine - $2.50 TOTAL: $16.10 <br /><br /> Next, find out what percentage of your money you spend on each category by dividing the total for each category by the overall total. Following the example above, I spent 66% on food ($10.60/$16.10). <br /><br /> Once you have completed your calculations look carefully through your analysis. Does anything <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/surprise" rel="tag">surprise</a> you? Are you spending more money than you thought on small items? Small things, like coffee, drinks, cigarettes etc=85 can really add up in a week! Just think, if you spend $3 on coffee every day, that's $21 a week or $1,092 a year! Identify these areas that surprise you and look for opportunities to cut back on your spending. <br /><br /> Keeping a daily spending diary is an easy way to take control over your spending and to identify some less than desirable spending habits. Also as an added bonus, by keeping a daily spending diary, you're already halfway there in creating your own personal budget. Next week we'll explain how to set up your budget. In the meantime, congratulations on taking an important first step! You're on your way to learning more about Your Money and You. <br /><br /> TIP: Use your daily spending diary as a savings tool. After one week you should be able to easily identify some areas to cut back on your spending. The money you save will bring you one step closer to your goals of opening a business, saving for your children's education, purchasing a home or taking a dream vacation. <bio>Your Money and You Staff have written a series of finance related articles. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ According to the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/national+headache+foundation" rel="tag">National Headache Foundation</a>, over 28 million people suffer from <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/migraine+headaches" rel="tag">migraine headaches</a>. Migraine headaches are not your run-of-the-mill <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/tension+headache" rel="tag">tension headache</a>; they are much, much worse. Migraine headaches are usually intensely painful, disabling, and typically reoccurring. To make matters worse, migraine headaches often last for several days. If you are among the estimated 28 million people who suffer from this debilitating condition then you might be well served by pursuing migraine treatment. <br /><br /> The first step in migraine treatment is seeing your physician. The doctor must be certain of the type of headache that is causing your suffering, and the symptoms alone may not be sufficient for making a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/confident+diagnosis" rel="tag">confident diagnosis</a>. Migraine treatment will likely begin with a thorough physical examination and headache evaluation. Only after other potential causes have been eliminated can you and your doctor begin to narrow your treatment options. <br /><br /> If no causes for your migraines are evident your doctor might tell you to begin keeping a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/headache+diary" rel="tag">headache diary</a>. A headache diary is used to help identify what things are migraine triggers for you. The list of migraine triggers is as varied as the people who suffer from migraines. Stress, fatigue, lack of sleep, foods or food additives, alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, even bright lights; all of these things, and more, trigger migraine headaches in some people. By using a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/migraine+diary" rel="tag">migraine diary</a> you are more likely to identify the conditions that make a migraine possible for you. <br /><br /> Once you have identified the sources of your migraines, you can begin working toward an effective migraine treatment. Often it is possible to curb or even eliminate your migraine headaches by strictly avoiding the foods and conditions that you have identified in your headache diary. <br /><br /> It is possible that the use of a headache diary can be an effective, preventative, migraine treatment for some; others will need additional help that <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/natural+prevention" rel="tag">natural prevention</a> methods can not provide. Abortive medications are taken at the moment you begin to feel the all too familiar symptoms of an impending migraine headache. However, if your headaches are exceptionally disabling or frequent =96 more than three per month - then you may not want to wait until they start to begin taking medication. <br /><br /> Various drugs have proven to be an effective migraine treatment. Beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, antidepressants, and anticonvulsants all have a demonstrated record of migraine prevention. Migraine treatment that focuses on prevention can allow frequent sufferers to reduce the amount of pain medication they are using and the side effects those medications may have. <br /><br /> It is important to remember that none of these options for migraine treatment should be tackled alone. Like all matters involving your health and medication, it is imperative that you consult with your physician before embarking on any migraine treatment regimen. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about migraine treatment visit our ezGuide 2 <a href="http://migraine.ezguide2.com" >http://migraine.ezguide2.com</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

The great thing about blogging is that it is easy to learn and easy to get into =96 especially with a blogging service like <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/blogger" rel="tag">Blogger</a>. <br /><br /> Blogs are, in a technical sense, content management software that helps you effectively organize and catalog a chronological journal of information that is posted regularly. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Although little is known about the actual origins of Valentine's Day, it has always been a day that celebrates love. The modern convention dictates that flowers, jewelry, or candy be given to honor a special someone, the more ancient traditions of Valentine's Day involve an exchange of handwritten notes or cards between lovers. In order to hearken back to when Valentine's Day was celebrated in a thoughtful and heartfelt way, show the special someone in your life how much they mean to you this Valentine's Day with some simply wonderful Valentine's Day gifts. <br /><br /> Valentine's Day gifts do not have to be expensive or extravagant. A simple but luxurious way to please your sweetheart on Valentine's Day is to draw a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/romantic+bath" rel="tag">romantic bath</a> for them. Since Valentine's Day falls on a Wednesday this year, a romantic bath can be a great way to relax your lover after a long work day and prepare them for an enchanting evening. <br /><br /> Fill the bathtub with very warm water. Pour in a capful of scented bubble bath while the water is still running to get a tubful of bubbles. Take <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/rose+petals" rel="tag">rose petals</a> and scatter them in and around the bathtub. Light red candles around the bathtub and basin. Take more rose petals and make a path to the bathroom to lead your special someone to a romantic bath. For something different, add dry powdered milk and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/epsom+salts" rel="tag">Epsom salts</a> to the bath instead of bubble bath. Share the bath with your sweetheart or take the opportunity to bathe them instead. <br /><br /> After a romantic bubble or milk bath, or simply on its own, a sensual massage will show any sweetheart your romantic side. <br /><br /> Light pink, red, and white <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/scented+candles" rel="tag">scented candles</a> around the bedroom and scatter rose petals on and around the bed. Lead your lover into the bedroom, have them disrobe, and lie face down on the bed. Start the massage at their neck and work your way down using a lightly <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/scented+massage" rel="tag">scented massage</a> oil. Pay special attention to their back, hips, calves, and feet to really relax them. Soft music in the background will enhance the experience. <br /><br /> If you have the time to prepare for a more involved Valentine's Day gift, there are a number of wonderful things you can do to show your loved one just how much you care for them. Putting time into a super special Valentine's Day gift is a beautiful way to express your love for your Valentine. <br /><br /> Purchase or make your own Valentine's Day themed diary. The diary could be decorated with hearts or a deep red color. Starting today, write daily diary entries addressed to your lover, detailing what you love about them and why. Sign each diary entry with a kiss. On Valentine's Day, give your sweetheart the diary and let them read about all the ways you love them. <br /><br /> For Valentine's Day this year, use creativity and thoughtfulness to show your love for a special someone. A coupon book for romantic things like candlelit dinners and romance movie nights, a serenade or CD of love songs, or a romantic scavenger hunt that ends in a quiet dinner together are excellent ways to show your love to a special someone. Your special someone is sure to appreciate the thought and energy that goes into your special Valentine's Day gift. <bio>For more great Valentine's Day gift ideas, please visit <a href="http://www.bestsexualtoys.com/" >http://www.bestsexualtoys.com/</a>. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Even if you think you have a wonderful memory you should still record key events and other useful information in writing. Over time our brains reorganise information and our memories change and get distorted, often just the act of trying to recall something important will change the way a memory is recorded in your brain.<br><br>I'm always amazed at how many people attend meetings and make notes on <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/scraps+of+paper" rel="tag">scraps of paper</a> or throwaway <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/notepads" rel="tag">notepads</a>. Coming from a scientific background I was trained to keep detailed logs and journals and this discipline has stayed with me into business and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/personal+life" rel="tag">personal life</a>.<br><br>I have a series of lovely bound notebooks dating back to the earlier 80's which I've used day in day out to record notes, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/meeting+minutes" rel="tag">meeting minutes</a>, important follow up actions, telephone numbers etc. I keep these on a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/bookshelf" rel="tag">bookshelf</a> in <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/chronological+order" rel="tag">chronological order</a>. Now if I need to think back over the reasons or background for decisions or remember how something was handled I just reach for the notebook I was using at the time and read through my entries for the period.<br><br>A friend uses his diary as a simple means of tracking how his business is developing. Each night he writes the value of sales that day in to his diary along with a note of any exceptional orders or issues that day. Over the years this has become invaluable, as he looks back on how sales developed around <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/key+dates" rel="tag">key dates</a> like Easter and put calls in to key customers around the anniversary of big orders they had placed the previous year. The funny thing is that although he could get this information off his computer without much effort, somehow the act of writing it down and keeping it in his jacket pocket just makes it so much more immediate, usable and compulsively addictive. In his case he doesn't relax or stop until his team has made more sales that the same day the prior year!<br><br>Personally I don't advise actually buying a diary. Their rigid day by day structure is too inflexible. I recommend you treat yourself to a beautiful journal that you will be proud to own and carry around with you. On the front page I write the date I started using it and leave a space for the date of the last entry which I fill in when I complete the last page.<br><br>Start each day on a fresh page by writing the date. I personally like to start the day by making a list of the things I must accomplish that day, so that I can tick them off throughout the day. Then as I move from one meeting or appointment to another I then write down a new sub heading which includes the time and a short description of the meeting for example "15:00 Budget Review". Issues and actions can then be written under the heading as required.<br><br>I don't limit this approach to work, in part because in today's knowledge economy I'm not sure we ever really stop working but also because the same approach is so useful in my private life as well. For example I had some electrical work carried out a couple of years ago but I couldn't recall the name of the great electrician we'd found when I needed more work doing this year. My journal came to the rescue and I just looked back through my entries from that time and there it was along with a note I'd made of his telephone number.<br><br>So in summary I don't believe that keeping a diary or a journal need be a chore, it's more a way of just being efficient.<bio>Linda Garrould is an eCommerce consultant and runs a number websites including <a href="http://www.iadoreyour.com">www.iadoreyour.com luxury gifts and jewellery</a> Why not have a look at their range of high quality <a href="http://www.iadoreyour.com/gstore/gcatview.php?id=37">handmade fine Italian leather journals</a> and discover how addictive and useful keeping a journal can be.</bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[I have always had a soft spot for dogs, each has their own unique character and charm. I also seem to attract them like a magnet. Case in point, I have just moved to a sleepy small town in Mississippi and have already made a 'new best friend,' a rather timid four legged creature that lives across the street. I have no clue what his or her name is. I call it 'Scardy Dog.' I just have to make an appearance on the porch and it comes running over to say hello. It also has great road sense, stopping at the curb and looking both ways before crossing. It is also scared of its shadow, one quick movement and it is off like a jack rabbit.<br><br><a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/kim+pearson" rel="tag">Kim Pearson</a> and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/anne+lindsay" rel="tag">Anne Lindsay</a> clearly share my affinity with our <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/four+legged+friends" rel="tag">four legged friends</a>, and Dog Park Diary is an exquisitely executed and highly amusing look at their pets, and their pets' best friends.<br><br>The action takes place in Robinswood Dog Park in Bellevue, Washington. A sanctuary where those pesky leashes can be discarded, and dogs can be dogs. This is the social apex for dogs that live in the neighborhood.<br><br>The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hero+of+the+story" rel="tag">hero of the story</a> is one Dr. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/jane+goodall" rel="tag">Jane Goodall</a> Beagle, but as she explains most people just call her Goody. Goody is our guide and mentor in this voyage of doggy discovery. One of the first lessons that Goody introduces us to is doggy etiquette and the importance of playing 'sniff-butt,' this is the doggy equivalent of us humans saying 'hello, how are you today,' but also a lot more, you can tell if the other dog is sad or happy, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/friend+of+foe" rel="tag">friend of foe</a>. As Goody puts it:<br><br><i>I think humans should do 'sniff-butt' too. Maybe they wouldn't fight so often.<br><br>They would look pretty funny though.</i><br><br>I enjoyed Dog Park Diary and Goody's explanation of the dog world. Although this book could be seemed to be aimed at the children's market it does contain some aspects that maybe a parent would not want to deal with, with their young children. Bodily functions are always a huge attraction to youngsters, and bodily functions do get a mention or two.<br><br>The photography by Anne Lindsay is superb, it matches the text so well. Both creators of this book deserve huge credit. While this may seem a very niche work, it is well worth seeking out. I really enjoyed it. Using minimal text Kim Pearson tells the story in a way that makes every word count. Goody takes on a personae from the very first page. Pointing out early on that she is a 'she dog', and as such has manners, not like those rowdy male dogs! "Some even pee in the water bowl" she tells us with disgust.<br><br>Dog Park Diary may not be the stuff that makes the New York Times best seller list, but I am sure it will find its way into the homes of many dog lovers.<br><br>You can order your copy from Amazon.<bio>Simon Barrett is an adult educator in Calgary, Alberta. <content:encoded><![CDATA[For much of the early 1980s, the CBS prime time line-up was dominated by two shows: Dallas and The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/duke" rel="tag">Duke</a>s Of Hazzard. Following the adventures of the fictional Duke family of Hazzard County, Georgia, the series chronicled their endless struggles with local law enforcement officer Rosco P. Coltrane and his domineering supervisor, J.D. "Boss" Hogg. Cousins Bo, Luke, and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/daisy" rel="tag">Daisy</a> lived on the family farm with their Uncle Jesse, and friendly mechanic "Cooter" often aided them in foiling Boss's plans, but the true star of the series was an orange race car known as the General Lee... <br /><br /> The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dukes+of+hazzard" rel="tag">Dukes Of Hazzard</a> (Season 4) DVD features a number of exciting episodes including the season premiere "Mrs. Daisy Hogg" in which <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/jamie+lee" rel="tag">Jamie Lee</a> Hogg, Boss's polite and "un-Hogg-like" nephew moves to Hazzard County to open an old mill. Daisy and Jamie Lee fall in love and announce their engagement, much to the chagrin of the Duke and Hogg families. But Daisy doesn't know that Jamie Lee is running a counterfeiting ring out of the mill... Other notable episodes include "Sadie Hogg Day" in which Boss, about to get a visit from the state auditor, rigs a drawing so that Daisy becomes County Treasurer for the day -- making her legally responsible for the county funds, and "Dear Diary" in which Roscoe's diary, detailing his various crimes with Boss, is left at the Duke farm by mistake. When Jesse tries to return the diary, two crooks steal it and use it to blackmail Boss and Roscoe... <br /><br /> Below is a list of episodes included on The Dukes Of Hazzard (Season 4) DVD: <br /><br /> Episode 60 (Mrs. Daisy Hogg) <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/air+date" rel="tag">Air Date</a>: 10-09-1981 Episode 61 (Double Dukes) Air Date: 10-16-1981 Episode 62 (Diamonds in the Rough) Air Date: 10-23-1981 Episode 63 (Coltrane vs. Duke) Air Date: 10-30-1981 Episode 64 (The Fugitive) Air Date: 11-03-1981 Episode 65 (The Great Bank Robbery) Air Date: 11-06-1981 Episode 66 (Sadie Hogg Day) Air Date: 11-13-1981 Episode 67 (10 Million Dollar Sheriff: Part 1) Air Date: 11-20-1981 Episode 68 (10 Million Dollar Sheriff: Part 2) Air Date: 11-20-1981 Episode 69 (Trouble at Cooter's) Air Date: 11-27-1981 Episode 70 (Goodbye, General Lee) Air Date: 12-04-1981 Episode 71 (Cletus Falls in Love) Air Date: 12-11-1981 Episode 72 (Hughie Hogg Strikes Again) Air Date: 12-18-1981 Episode 73 (Dukescam Scam) Air Date: 01-01-1982 Episode 74 (The Sound of Music -- Hazzard Style) Air Date: 01-08-1982 Episode 75 (Shine on Hazzard Moon) Air Date: 01-15-1982 Episode 76 (Pin the Tail on the Dukes) Air Date: 01-22-1982 Episode 77 (Miz Tisdale on the Lam) Air Date: 01-29-1982 Episode 78 (Nothin' But the Truth) Air Date: 02-05-1982 Episode 79 (Dear Diary) Air Date: 02-12-1982 Episode 80 (New Deputy in Town) Air Date: 02-19-1982 Episode 81 (Birds Gotta Fly) Air Date: 02-26-1982 Episode 82 (Bad Day in Hazzard) Air Date: 03-05-1982 Episode 83 (Miss Tri-Counties) Air Date: 03-12-1982 Episode 84 (Share and Share Alike) Air Date: 03-19-1982 Episode 85 (The Law and Jesse Duke) Air Date: 03-26-1982 Episode 86 (Dukes in Danger) Air Date: 04-02-1982 <bio>Britt Gillette is author of The DVD Report (<a href="http://thedvdreport.blogspot.com">http://thedvdreport.blogspot.com</a>), a blog where you can find more reviews like this one. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Goody Beagle here. You don't know me unless you have read my book Dog Park Diary: the social round of Goody Beagle. It's about my visits to my dog park and who I meet there and all the things we <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/sme" rel="tag">sme</a>ll. It's a good book, and mostly true, but after it was published with all those great photos and all, I discovered that I have more to say about dogs and dog parks. In this article I want to talk about something you humans just don't get -- smell. You humans make fun of us dogs because we sniff-butt, but if you learned this skill you'd probably be a lot happier. So maybe you should read this article.<br><br>First, let me say that I know you can never be as good as us dogs at smelling. Your evolution just doesn't support it. We dogs have more smell cells than you do, and a much bigger part of our brain is devoted to smell than yours. This is one reason why I feel sorry for you humans. You miss so much!<br><br>Now I know humans have good eyes. I've been told (by my human) that humans can see more colors than dogs, and farther than dogs. Well, maybe that's true, but so what? So you can see maybe ten times more colors than we can. But we can smell up to 100,000 times more smells than you can! Some say we may smell even a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/million+times" rel="tag">million times</a> better than you. Just think about that every time you think humans are so cool.<br><br>We can smell the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/moods" rel="tag">moods</a> of dogs and humans, and even cats. We can tell if they are happy, sad, mad, anxious, or excited. We can smell the tiniest change in the character of the air outside. We can smell the ground and tell who has passed by and when, how old they were, if they were male or female, how they were feeling, what they ate for dinner, and if they were sick, healthy, pregnant, or <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/looking+for+love" rel="tag">looking for love</a>. We can track <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/missing+persons" rel="tag">missing persons</a> by smell, find people buried under <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ten+feet" rel="tag">ten feet</a> of snow by smell, smell underground <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/mushrooms" rel="tag">mushrooms</a> and dig them up, and smell drugs and explosives and tell you where they are hidden. When it comes to smell, no one on earth is better than we are.<br><br>An excellent place to find good, strong smells that tell you all about whoever you meet is their rear end. Humans, cats, and especially dogs have detailed messages waiting there for us to smell-read. A quick sniff-butt tells us more about a total stranger than you might know about your best friend or even your mother.<br><br>Some humans have compared our sniff-butts to the human habit of shaking hands. Well, sort of, but sniff-butt gives us more information, and is a lot more reliable. I don't think much of your human ways of finding out about each other. You shake hands with each other, but it doesn't tell you how the other guy feels about you. You say, "How are you?" and then don't listen to the answer. You say "Good morning" to each other even if it's raining and your breakfast was burnt and you stubbed your toe in the shower.<br><br>The strange thing from my perspective is that none of this tells you anything at all about the other person. Do you learn how they are feeling today? Do you learn if they're about to bite you or maybe if they'd like to go play a round of golf with you? Do you learn if they are sick or angry or pregnant? Do you find out what they want for dinner?<br><br>No you don't. But we do -- when we sniff-butt.<br><br>But here's the problem. We dogs love -- and need -- to do sniff-butt, but you humans don't seem to like us doing it. Many of you seem to think we are doing something nasty. You try to "train" us not to do it anymore.<br><br>You need to know that this is not possible. We are dogs. The message I want to give you humans is to just let us be ourselves. Don't try to stop us from sniff-butt. To you, it looks funny or disgusting or bad mannered, but that's because you can't do it and you can't read smell messages, so you made up some silly rules for humans and then try to apply them to us dogs.<br><br>You know what I think? I think you find sniff-butt disgusting because you find your own rear ends disgusting. Boy, I just don't understand that at all. You don't find your legs or your arms or your ears disgusting, so why you hate your own rear end makes no sense at all to me. To dogs, rear ends are just rear ends -- we don't have any judgments about them. My rear end is just as much a part of me as my eyelashes or my paws. I think you should just accept the fact that you have a rear end, and just like all rear ends, it smells.<br><br>So don't try to "train" us out of sniff-butt. We might stop for a minute while you're looking, but we'll be back at it as soon as you look away. We like to make you happy, but it should work both ways. If you want to make us happy, let us be dogs.<bio>Kim Pearson is the author of five books, including Dog Park Diary, and a ghostwriter of more than thirty non-fiction books. <content:encoded><![CDATA[I am still trying to get back on track after the break up. I am still going through the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cooling+off+period" rel="tag">cooling off period</a> but there are a few other things I want to try to do before I even attempt to start dating my ex again ! I guess I am still suffering from trauma but this is not going to last long.<br><br>Here are some of the things I am going to try before I start all over again ! A friend of mine once said that <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/writing+a+journal" rel="tag">writing a journal</a> or diary was really silly -- as if you did not know what had happened to you ! It is written in every <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/nerve" rel="tag">nerve</a> of your body ! I am not so sure though, because I know it helps some people to write things down. What am I going to write down ? Well, it could be fears and feelings and if I have trouble starting this letter or diary I could always try and imagine I am writing to my favourite sister. Writing things down CAN get a person to give <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/vent" rel="tag">vent</a> to feelings of anger and hurt.<br><br>I am going to call up friends I have lost touch with -- yes, I do feel guilty about that because we were having such a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/great+time" rel="tag">great time</a> (me and my ex) that I neglected my friends a bit. I know, though, that <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/real+friends" rel="tag">real friends</a> can be counted on so I am going for the chosen few. This is a great way to get my mind off THE subject and anyway we can have fun together and enjoy the things we used to do- go to a movie, eat out or whatever. I know that this is going to take my mind off things. Sometimes friends (the real ones) can be great <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/sounding+boards" rel="tag">sounding boards</a> and they can tell me a thing or two.<br><br>I thought I might get help from a therapist but then I thought of the cost ! Although talking to somebody who is objective can be great I think there a few downsides (apart from the cost). It is going to take at least a few weeks before I am going to see any results and quite frankly , I am getting impatient. Also it might take me a while to click with the right therapist.<br><br>I have just had another idea. I am going to do at least ONE thing I love doing every day -- that way, I can get really distracted and stop mooching and getting depressed. I figure that this is going to be real help too in showing that life goes on and that I can really enjoy myself without my ex , although I still really do want my ex back -- at least I am sure of that now !<br><br>This is going to be my short term strategy and it is really short term because I do not want to fall into the trap of a rebound relationship -- that would be disastrous. The link below sets out clearly what I have to do next.<bio>Mark L. Robertson writes on dating and relationships. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ I have <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/adhd" rel="tag">ADHD</a>, and if you're a person who has ADD or ADHD, you know that life can be frustrating and hard at times. I mean, we can zone out at very important times or we might have clutter stacked to the ceiling or we forget something really important. Those things happen. But whether you're ADD or not, you're going to have issues and problems, and that's just how life works. <br /><br /> ADD just adds a layer of issues to the ones that linear-thinking people already have. But you can't let those irritations trap you. You need to figure out what your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/strengths+and+weaknesses" rel="tag">strengths and weaknesses</a> are and make adjustments so that you're working with your strengths and not against them. For instance, I work online and have been very successful. I can hyperfocus on this because I love it and I know that it's making me successful. It's working with my ADD strengths. <br /><br /> I'm a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/creative+person" rel="tag">creative person</a>. I can come up with ideas very quickly, but I know I'm not a great finisher. So, I hired a staff of people who coordinate and finish these things for me, and it works! My business is growing and ADD doesn't get in the way at all. In fact, my company has made more than $1 million for a couple of years in a row now and we're growing. The system works out great. I'm the idea person, and though I do some of the work, when I'm bored with it, I move onto something else and the job still gets done. <br /><br /> If you know yourself, you can find a situation like this in which you'll thrive. Decide what it is you love to do and then, concentrate on it. If you're creative, you might want to try <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/being+an+actor" rel="tag">being an actor</a> or singer or artist. If you're analytical and like to solve problems, you might want to be a detective or <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/private+investigator" rel="tag">private investigator</a> or even a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/systems+analyst" rel="tag">systems analyst</a>. You might make a great writer, too. The whole thing is to try and find out what you enjoy doing and concentrating on that. <br /><br /> You may be wondering how you figure that out. Well, try <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/keeping+a+diary" rel="tag">keeping a diary</a>. Write down everything you do for two weeks. Highlight the events or activities that you enjoyed most every day, and in a couple of weeks, you should see a pattern begin to appear. If you need a bit longer, just keep writing in your diary until you do figure it all out, but you will. See what your strengths are and avoid the weaknesses. <br /><br /> Here's the thing... ADD doesn't have to slow you down. You can be successful and happy, but you have to figure out what you enjoy the most. You have special talents because of your ADD. You're creative, probably very intelligent, and you think at the speed of light. You just need to figure out what you like and where you abilities shine and then, set to work on them. You'll be amazed at how much this will transform your life. <bio>Tellman Knudson is a certified hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner, who has helped many of his clients to cope with the symptoms of ADD.
