Nintendo Wii is a video game system controlled from gaming industry giant Nintendo Co. Ltd. Despite popular belief, Nintendo Wii is not entirely new -- it is actually an updated and renamed version of the company's very popular Nintendo Revolution. Although Nintendo Wii is considered something of an underachiever by game reviewers because it has fewer added features and less crisp graphics than many other gaming consoles, Nintendo Wii is in fact a big hit with fans and so a big seller.

What's the attraction with Nintendo Wii?

The secret of Nintendo Wii's success may be a combination of its affordable price and its unique controlled. The Nintendo Wii allows players to use a controlled similar to a remote control. This motion-sensor technology controlled for the Nintendo Wii allows gamers to use real movements -- swings, stabs, and other motions -- to control like motions on the screen. Many gamers say that this feature allows them to step into action games more readily with the Nintendo Wii than with controllers that rely on gamers to simply press buttons or manipulate joy sticks.

Nintendo Wii may also be attractive because it does not promise to be a major entertainment system, the way many other gaming consoles today do. Instead, Nintendo Wii markets itself as only a gaming console for those interested in video games. The promise seems to ring true to the many gaming fans who are flocking to the Nintendo Wii. Despite heavy competition from powerful gaming devices like the Xbox and Playstation, Nintendo Wii continues to be the little game console that could, attracting many by its very simplicity and its single-purpose frame.

Nintendo Wii is a hot trend

At gaming conventions, even the makers of the Nintendo Wii were surprised by the popularity of the Nintendo Wii, as fans waited in hour-line line-ups at several major conventions and trade shows just to try Nintendo Wii. Many testers of the Nintendo Wii found that the Nintendo Wii adds an element of physical fun that is simply missing from many of today's gaming solutions. <bio>To find out more info about the Nintendo Wii system, visit our Nintendo Wii Blog where you will find tons of news and information - http://www.nintendo-wi.ws Article Submitted by http://www.thatarticleguy.com </bio>

The R4 Revolution is an adaptor to connect a Nintendo DS to a flash memory card. It's very easy to use and unlocks a lot of potential for the handheld console. Despite this, it's one accessory Nintendo fears appearing on Christmas wish lists.

Regardless of the many just uses of the device, Nintendo are only concerned with one. It is a use that you won't see advertised in the stores where it sells for less than the cost of a single DS game. The fear is that the device enables video games piracy.

Video games piracy is fairly common on systems that use media available to consumers in writeable format. This includes PC games copied from the original DVD onto a writeable disc. Slightly more difficult to pirate are games for consoles which run games from DVDs. The disc can be copied in the same fashion; however the hardware must be altered to bypass anti-piracy mechanisms.

The Nintendo DS is one system that has until now be free of piracy because of the use of cartridges which cannot be written to by commercially available products. On the other hand, flash memory cards are simple to write to and the R4 Revolution allows the Nintendo DS to interface with a flash memory card, therefore enabling piracy.

As with advocates of illegal music downloads, video game pirates claim they are being charged too much for games, with many games being reworks of existing titles from older systems and blaming corporate greed. The opponents fight back arguing that number of hours entertainment from a game balances out the costs.

Nintendo are expected to fight the pirates by improving anti-piracy technology in the cartridges. The likelihood is that a few months later the pirates will have found a new way around this. It is very much an on going battle.

Legal factors that have been surrounding the R4 Revolution have taken away from some of the more ethical uses of the hardware. The R4 DS gives handheld console users the ability to use homebrew software which does not infringe on copyright. This is the sort of software which is taken for granted on personal computers. When a Dell PC is purchased, the consumer is not tidied only to using applications endorsed by Dell.

Under the current market, software for the Nintendo DS is only produced by large organisations if they believe they can recover the hefty costs of production, publication and distribution. This leaves no room for helpful application but not so profitable applications. For example a translator or a handwriting recognition driven word processor on the DS would be useful, but not enough for it to become a profitable venture. With the use of a device such as the R4 Revolution these possibilities are opened up.

In addition to this, R4 Revolution home brew applications which would be popular on the open market but have not been developed by mainstream producers are available for download and play through an R4 Revolution. Some of these allow the DS to be used as an MP3 player, PDA and even a mobile phone (using VOIP technology with the support of the DS Wi-Fi connection).

Another ability unlocked by the R4 Revolution is the capacity to have all the software belonging to a DS owner stored on a single piece of media. This allows users to swap between games and other applications without the need to swap cartridges, meaning there is no need to carry separate cartridges around with the DS.

Software produced independently of large manufacturers adds great value to home computers and mobile devices. The possibility of this for the Nintendo DS and other handheld consoles is an intriguing one. Although most discussion on the R4 Revolution is currently about piracy issues, it should be considered that the device has many legitimate purposes akin to the purposes of CD/DVD-RW, which when first made available also seemed like a tool for software pirates and is now an essential component of any home computer.<bio>If you would like to buy R4 DS in the UK, our website has a lot of useful information on avoiding a fake R4 DS which can damage an NDS.</bio>

In a world full of video games one could easily wonder why anyone would need a new model. Sometimes it seems that the graphics can not get any sharper, the sounds any fuller, and the game play any more realistic. Perhaps that reality is one of the reasons that, in 2001, the brain trust at Nintendo began to contemplate taking game consoles in a new direction. After seeing powerful console after powerful console flood the market, Nintendo realized that it was difficult to compete in a market full of heavyweight, high powered machines. Instead, they decided that a console that focused on player interaction could fill a void in a sea of consoles focused on speed and performance. It was with that strategy in mind that the idea for the Nintendo Wii consoles was born.

Despite being the latest and hottest game system on the market, the Nintendo Wii consoles do not take graphics and speed to new levels. Instead, it is a revolutionary new control system that differentiates the Wii from its competitors as well as any game system that came before it. Allowing players to control the game through movements, gesturing, swinging, and swiping, the Nintendo Wii consoles take existing game concepts and marry them with an interactive gaming experience. When playing tennis =96 on Wii Games =96 you do not push a joystick to swing the racket, you swing your arm while holding the Wii controller, known officially as the Wiimote. The same goes for all the other games that are designed for the Nintendo Wii consoles. However, part of the appeal of the Nintendo Wii consoles is that they are not designed solely for Nintendo Wii games. In fact, they are fully compatible with games for the Nintendo GameCube as well.

Another impressive element of the Nintendo Wii consoles is that they also have the ability to interface with the Internet =96 when used in conjunction with a Wi-Fi USB connector. Once online, the Nintendo Wii consoles allow users to surf the Web, shop online, check the news and weather, chat on message boards, and even download Nintendo classics like Donkey Kong, Mario Brothers, and many, many more.

The vision of the Nintendo engineers just a few years ago is a reality today. In the Nintendo Wii consoles that have created a game system that does not try to keep up with others, but instead stands apart from the competition. The video game industry will never be the same. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about Nintendo Wii consoles visit our ezGuide 2 http://nintendo.ezguide2.com </bio>

It recently struck me when talking to friends that not many people know that the Nintento Wii is backwards compatible with the Gamecube, and even includes connectivity for the Game Boy Advance. Nintendo Wii Backwards Compatibility is not all plain sailing though as this article explains.

When the Nintendo Wii was introduced, one of the main advantages of the console for many gamers was the fact that it could play Nintendo GameCube games too. With backwards capability, you can use all GameCube games and accessories on the Nintendo Wii. However, there are a few slight problems which you will have to take into account.

The Potential Problems of Playing GameCube Games on the Wii

The main disadvantage which comes with playing GameCube games on the Wii is that you cannot always save your game. So you could be doing really well on a game but you cannot save it and so you would lose everything you had just done. This is especially a problem with adventure style games which take quite a long time to complete. If you would like to be able to save your game then you can always purchase a Nintendo GameCube memory card. That should allow you to save any GameCube game on your Wii.

If you do want to play GameCube games on your Nintendo Wii then another thing that you will have to purchase is a GameCube controller, if of course you don't already own one. Obviously the controllers for the two consoles are completely different. This means that if you attempted to play a GameCube game with a Nintendo Wii controller, it simply would not work. So you do need to ensure that you have some of the GameCube accessories before you use the games on your Wii console.

Another advantage which comes from the Nintendo Wii having GameCube ports is that you can also connect a Game Boy Advance as well as an e-Reader. However again you will need accessories to be able to use this and for the Game Boy Advance you will need a Game Boy Advance Cable.

One thing that also may be a problem is that since the firmware has been updated to 3.0 the console may now not be completely compatible with the GameCube Action Replay feature. This works with GameCube games and so you may experience some problems when you do try to play various games designed specifically for the GameCube.

Finally the Wii will not be compatible with GameCube composite video, component video cables and S-Video due to it using a proprietary port.

So there are some negative things that you have to keep in mind when looking into using the Nintendo Wii for GameCube games. Overall though, it is definitely an advantage that you can play GameCube games on the console. It means that anybody who has previously bought a GameCube before the Wii will be able to still play the games on both consoles. It is easier than having to keep switching between the two machines and the graphics are also really good when playing on the Wii too.

Overall Nintendo Wii Backwards Compatibility is a great added benefit to an already excellent gaming system. <bio>This article is brought to you by http://www.WiiFirst.net - for Nintendo Wii news, reviews, previews and much more. </bio>

If you are interested in the new Nintendo Wii you should be pretty excited about the cost of the unit. No, you are not going to get it for only a few bucks, but all in all when you compare Wii prices to other units you are most definitely getting a good deal. The Nintendo Wii does not hit stores until November 19, 2006, but with that being said the suggested retail price has been released. The new Wii is going to be priced at $249.99 in the United States. It is safe to say that this low price alone will draw in a lot of customers who do not want to shell out big time money for other gaming systems.

If you compare Wii prices to the Playstation 3 that is also being released in November you will notice one very important thing. The price of the Nintendo Wii is $300 less than that of the new Playstation. That is right; you can buy two Wii units for less than one Playstation 3. With that in mind, it is going to come down to which unit the majority of gamers feel is the better value. Even though you are paying more if you buy the Playstation it does not necessarily mean that you are getting a better deal. It is safe to say that the consumer will decide on what is better over the next few months. This is especially true due to the fact that the holiday season is among us.

Another competitor that you may want to compare Wii prices to is the Microsoft Xbox 360. When the Xbox 360 was released it came at two separate price points; $299 and $399. The higher priced version came with all of the bells and whistles that most gamers were looking for out of a new system. And even though the Xbox has been around for more than a year, prices still remain higher than that of the new Nintendo Wii.

So as you can see when you compare prices of all the systems the Wii comes out on top time and time again. Not only does the new Wii beat competition such as the Playstation 3, but it also competes quite well against older systems such as the Xbox.

The bottom line is that you can compare Wii prices to any other system, and the one from Nintendo comes out on top time and time again. It is obvious that when Nintendo started to draw up plans for its seventh generation game console that they took price into consideration. They figured that if they could offer the best features at a low price that they would come out on top.

Time will tell if the new Nintendo Wii is priced correctly. One thing is for sure. Nintendo will win over a lot of customers for the pure fact that there price is up to three hundred dollars cheaper than the competition. In a comparison of gaming system prices, the Nintendo Wii comes out on top in the end. <bio>Gditeam has built the one and only guide on getting a nintendo wii for free which can be found on his website here http://www.freebietraining.com/wii/free-wii.html </bio>

The Nintendo Wii is the hottest gaming system on the market. Even now many retailers are sold out and awaiting new shipments of this revolutionary game system with its remote sensing control system. The Nintendo Wii is a hot commodity, and like any commodity the laws of supply and demand are in play, and high demand can often equate to high prices. If you are one of the millions of people considering a purchase of the Wii System then you are probably among those for whom the Nintendo Wii price is a consideration.

Fortunately, the Nintendo Wii price is at a point that is affordable for most people, and for approximately $249.99 USD you can jump right in =96 almost literally =96 and begin playing the game that everyone is talking about. However, the $250 dollar price point only gets you the basic Wii package, which includes one game =96 Wii Sports =96 one controller, the sensor bar, and the assorted power cords needed to plug in and play. While this assortment is more than capable of getting you up and running, the $250 Nintendo Wii price does not include many items you are sure to want as soon as you tire of playing Wii Sports against the computer.

One way to avoid endless shopping for additional games and accessories is to purchase a Nintendo Wii bundle from a retailer who offers such deals. Various retailers offer bundles =96 all inclusive package deals =96 that include the Wii system as well as additional memory, additional controller, and several additional game titles. While such packages can greatly increase the Nintendo Wii price =96 by $200 to $400 dollars depending on the number of games and their titles =96 it can give you all you need, and more, to get started gaming.

The Nintendo Wii price, without accessories, is roughly $250. But it is the accessories that make the Wii such a powerful and dynamic system, and the Nintendo Wii price does not include those additional items. While new game titles will cost roughly $50 each, it is not the new games that will take your Wii to new heights; it is the add-ons. A second controller and Nunchuk - secondary controller that plugs into the primary, wireless controller; the Wiimote =96 will cost approximately $60. For those who wish to offset the Nintendo Wii price by continuing to play games from their Nintendo GameCube, they may need to purchase a GameCube controller if they do not already have one ($25). Further, if you want to save your ongoing GameCube games =96 like you could do on the original GameCube =96 then a memory card is needed ($25). For roughly the same prices as the memory card, an SD card =96 1 GB of additional memory =96 can be purchased allowing you to download classic games through an Internet connection.

Like other accessories, Internet connectivity is not included in the Nintendo Wii price, and a wireless Wi-Fi USB connector is required ($100 and up). And if you want to see the fruit of your investments in the quality of High Definition, then a component video adapter is needed to deliver that crystal clear picture ($20).

After reading a list such as this one it is easy to wonder what you really get for that $250 Nintendo Wii price. The truth is that you get a lot, but if you want more =96 and you want to maximize the capabilities of the system =96 then investing in accessories that cost above and beyond the Nintendo Wii price will deliver exactly that. Fortunately, you don't have to buy them all at once. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about Nintendo Wii price visit our ezGuide 2 http://nintendo.ezguide2.com </bio>

Therefore, one of the more useful Nintendo Wii accessories is a prepaid Wii Points card that will allow you to easily browse and purchase many of your favorite games from all of the Nintendo predecessors. However, if you plan to purchase many of these classic games it is only a matter of time before you fill the 512mb memory of your Wii system. Purchase a 1 gigabyte SD memory card and you will have all the room you need with plenty to spare!

In order to take advantage of the game downloading abilities, as well as other aspects of the Wii system's menu functions, you need access to the Internet.
Nintendo has unveiled its latest incarnation of the DS. Disappointingly for many it is not an entirely new console, rather a rework of the existing DS console. Despite the lack of processor and RAM improvements, a few new features have been added making it a more exciting upgrade than the DS Lite.

No one can blame Nintendo for not wanting to move on to another generation of consoles too quickly. It's easy to forget where Nintendo were in the last generation of console wars. The GameCube gave them impression that Nintendo would shortly be following their old rival Sega out of the hardware market. The Wii and DS quickly turned this around and put Nintendo back in the Number one spot where it had not been since the Super Nintendo. It's taken Nintendo a long time to regain its crown, and they don't want to take any unnecessary risks.

The most prominent feature of the black Nintendo DSi is the two digital cameras built into it. Both of these feature a VGA resolution (640 x 480) sensor. One of these cameras will be located on the outer casing while the other camera will be positioned between the two screens focusing on the user.

The cameras are expected to be used for features integrated into future games, especially the internal camera which will be able to capture players' movements. The main purpose of the VGA camera however, will be to stream a video of the player to other plays around the world when the camera is connected to a wireless hub. Photos taken on the cameras can also be sent to the Wii's Photo Channel via the Wi-Fi connection.

Nintendo are playing-up the fact that there are 11 different filters which can be used in-real time when taking photos. This does seem rather to be a gimmick and something that will not be used by most on more than a handful of occasions.

To store these images, the DSi includes an SD card reader/writer. It is unknown what capacity memory card the reader/writer will be compatible with. A further unknown is whether Nintendo intend to allow homebrew applications to be used through the SD card. This could potentially open up the door for all manners of mp3 players, video players and office applications to be used with a Nintendo DSi. If Nintendo do allow homebrew applications, this could be the most important selling point of the new console, however in an effort to avoid piracy, this seems unlikely.

The size of the new DS is a further reduction from the DS Lite's size. The new model is 12% slimmer but with the reduction in size and the new features, something has to give, and that is backwards compatibility. Unfortunately the DSi will not be compatible with GameBoy Advance cartridges.

The screen has also undergone an upgrade and is now 17% larger. Speaker and volume quality are said to have been improved making in game effects and music produce a high quality output.

The DSi Shop is a new feature designed to allow users to download software and carry it around with them. This would not have been possible on the previous generations of Nintendo DS due to their lack of memory.

The white and black Nintendo DSi are due to be released in the UK in spring of 2009 although an exact date has not been confirmed. A price has not been given either but estimates set the new system at around £110 in combination with a slight price reduction for the DS Lite. Whether the new features are put to use well enough to justify an upgrade for current DS owners remains to be seen, but for most that do not already own a DS, the DSi seems like the best all round package.<bio>The black Nintendo DSi will be released along with the white Nintendo DSi in spring in the UK. As with the DS, the black Nintendo DSi is expected to be the most popular and sell out fastest. If you really want a black DSi from it's release date, you may want to consider pre-ordering.</bio>

Video games are fun to have. With so many consoles choices nowadays, we wonder what console or platform is the best. I would say that every console or platform is different form each other, and they both have upside and downside.

Amongst the xbox, the playstations, the pc/computer game, I prefer the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/nintendo+wii" rel="tag">nintendo wii. Many reasons are motivating my choice.

Let start with the price. While the Sony and Microsoft consoles are highly price, the nintendo wii console remains affordable. As far as the individual game price and accessories, the price are almost equivalent if you compare, the playstation, the xbox and the nintendo objects. But for the initial investment, the nintendo wii console is much cheaper. Or for the same price as the sony playstation 3, you can get a well equipped nintendo wii console loaded with accessories like some extra controllers and a fe additionnal games.

My second point that makes me prefer the nintendo wii console, is the gameplay. While nintendo did not put the emphasis on the quality of the graphics the console can render, they fully develop and revolutionise the way their game are played. With the wireless accesories, like nunchuck and controllers, you can fully involve your whole body into playing the game versus only exercising your finger on a remote control. For example, the bowling game is very interactive and reproduce enterly the way we play bowling in real life. Same goes for golf, baseball and the boxing game. The last one is very demanding physically and will exercise your cardio fitness fully. A 30 mins boxing match let you spend more energy then doing stationnary bicyle for the same period of time.

The internet browsing on the nintendo wii console is very interesting. On the downside, a limitation of the nintendo wii is the fact that you need to have wireless capabilities on your internet network to be able to surf or communicate. Once you are equip with a wireless connection you fully enable the network gaming and the internet browsing. To enable this wireless networking, you can either purchase an internet router, such as a linksys or dlink, or even buy the usb wireless adapter made by nintendo.

Another point that would provide the nintendo wii console a lead over it's competitor, is the fact that almost all major video games are also realease on the nintendo wii. The nintendo console is not neglected by game developper. As for the game specially made for the nintendo wii, they are growing in numbers as the popularity of the console is increasing.

My last point about the nintendo wii console is for the retro gamers. As previously said, the nintendo wii can browse the internet and this access let you purchase for a small price almost anygame nintendo ever realese, either on their original 8 bit console, the super nintendo or the game cube. This backward compatible console is a must for all nostalgic gamers who have pass their youth playing those game like mario kart or super mario bros.

While the nintendo wii platform gets my vote, the other platforms including the pc are also very fun to play and also make a good choice for fun and entertainment alone or with a group of friends.<bio>John is an avid gamer. He maintain a cheat codes website known as Icycheats.com. From the early days of Atari to the latest playstation 3, he as tried and test them all. Is latest discovery and analysis project is the Nintendo wii</bio>

The ever changing video game industry took a giant leap when Nintendo released the Wii in late 2006. Unlike previous video game releases from Nintendo, and others, the Wii's distinguishing features were not improved graphics, or faster game speed, or any of the countless other innovations that have dotted the gaming landscape. Instead, Nintendo's Wii has ushered in a new way to play video games with its revolutionary control system.

The controller of the Wii system is a hand-held, wireless remote control that has the ability to sense movements in all directions. Instead of using a traditional joystick, players move, point, swing, and gesture with the remote control, and those movements are detected by infrared sensors on the game console. The result is an interactive gaming experience that can not be had on any game system, especially when you are playing games for the Nintendo Wii because they are designed to take full advantage of all that the Wii has to offer.

Wii Sports is a game that features five game simulations -- tennis, golf, baseball, boxing, and bowling -- and the natural movements in sports make for a great platform for the Wii to strut its stuff, so it should come as no surprise that Nintendo included Wii Sports with each purchase of a Wii system. However, it is the games for Nintendo Wii that are not included with the game system that continue to drive people to the stores and online retailers.

At the top of the list of games for Nintendo Wii is Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which is the latest in a series of Zelda games, but the first that is compatible with the Wii system. Launched alongside the Wii, Zelda allows loyal fans to continue their adventures in ways that only the Wii can allow. Medal of Honor: Vanguard is another new release of an old favorite. Medal of Honor continues its realistic World War II "shoot em" action, while in another release everyone's favorite hedgehog makes his Wii debut in Sonic and the Secret Rings.

Hardcore gamers consider one of the best games for Nintendo Wii to be WarioWare: Smooth Moves. Considered to be an ideal platform for all the Wii can do, WarioWare is another game that continues on an existing series. WarioWare relies on a series of microgames -- games based on simple movements that can often last only a few seconds each. The player is given rapid game scenarios with instructions that hint at the required action. Making the correct movements allows the player to move on to the next game, whereas too many mistakes will force the player to start over. The concept of movements as the key to success makes this one of the most ideal games for Nintendo Wii.

Countless new games for Nintendo Wii are sure to hit the market, especially as the popularity of the game platform is growing. Regardless of the theme of the game, the unique controller is sure to make all future games for the Nintendo Wii unlike anything one could play with any other gaming system. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about games for nintendo wii visit our ezGuide 2 http://nintendo.ezguide2.com </bio>

Of the four most successful console developers (past and present), Sega, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, the later has been the most reluctant to move away their consoles away from a simple gaming machine. In recent years however Nintendo have become known for innovative ways to play games and their latest innovation is the white DSi which includes digital cameras to bring about more ways of interacting with games.

Sega launched their last console, the Dreamcast, in 1999. It was the first console which provided Internet access for web browsing and online gaming.

The Play station 2 was released a year later but did not come a with built-in modem. It took until 2003 for the modem to become available in Europe.

In 2001 Nintendo released their GameCube but it never included Internet capability as Nintendo intended to keep it purely as a games machine.

With the following generation, it was clear that any system without Internet capabilities would be left behind. This included handheld consoles. Sony's PSP long with Nintendo's DS both included the extremely fast growing Wi-Fi technology. The PSP contains a flash memory reader which allows films, music and photos to be viewed and listened to through the console as with the PS3 and Xbox.

Again Nintendo have been a little more reluctant to bring about non-gaming hardware for DS but with the new white DSi they are about to move into that territory. The white DSi includes an SD card reader which can store music and videos. The quality of sound output in the DSi has also been increased to accommodate the systems music play capabilities.

Unfortunately Nintendo aren't going to let you listen to your MP3 collection on your white DSi. They are sticking to ACC music files only. The reason is unknown although it could be related to a music downloading service.

The main attraction of the DSi is the two cameras it features on the inside and outside. They are only low quality cameras but the aim is to allow them to be used in games.

Nintendo are pushing the fact that there are 11 different filters which can be used in-real time when taking photos. This seems rather more like a gimmick and something that will not be used by most on more than a handful of occasions.

The second most popular colour of DSi after pink is the White Nintendo DSi. This could possibly because the white Nintendo DSi was the first colour launched (along with black). Another possible reason is that white is a very neutral colour, so if someone cannot find the colour they are looking for, they are likely to settle of a neutral white Nintendo dsi.

As you probably know there is no difference between it and the black DSi but there are differences between it and the white DS. There are all the new features such as cameras, flash memory and larger screens of course, but we're talking about the casing that surrounds it. As well as being 12% thinner, the shiny effect has been reduced making the console less shiny but giving it more style.<bio>The white DSi will feature a larger screen as well as a smaller body than the DS Lite. See our website for more information on the white DSi.</bio>

So you've just excitedly rushed home from the shop with your new <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/nintendo+wii" rel="tag">Nintendo Wii, opened the box and then stopped dead in your tracks - because it's just occurred to you that you haven't the faintest idea how to setup Nintendo Wii. This article is here to help you with this process; it's easier than it looks, so don't worry!

Starting to Setup Wii

First you'll need to determine how you want the orientation of your Nintendo Wii. The Wii can sit either vertically or horizontally. If you want to place your unit vertically, place the Wii in the control plate which will be included in the box. What you need to consider here is the space available in your entertainment center and the best way to orient your Wii to ensure that it has sufficient air flow to remain cool.

Plug in Wii

After this, you need to plug in your Wii to both your outlet and to the television set. Check the back or perhaps the front of your TV to see what manner of A/V connections is present. Once you've found these, plug the correct cord from the Wii into the corresponding plug on your television.

The next step is to plug the AC adapter included with your Wii into the wall outlet and then into the back of your Nintendo Wii console. If you are in, or plan to travel to Europe, remember to use the proper AC adapter - using the wrong type can damage your Wii.

After you setup Nintendo Wii to be connected to your television and to your power, the next thing to do is to plug in the sensor bar to your unit. Find the sensor bar jack on your Wii and plug in the cord there. You must then find a spot to place the sensor bar where the controllers can properly orient themselves to it. The sensor bar has infrared light emitters which the controllers need to receive so you will need an unobstructed sight line between the two. Ideally, you will place your sensor bar in the middle of your TV, which will make it easy for the controllers to align themselves.

The next thing to do to setup Nintendo Wii is to get the controllers up and running. Each controller uses two AA batteries. Install these in the controllers, put a game in your Wii console and then turn on the unit. Make sure that your television set is tuned to channel 3 and you should be ready to go. Follow the instructions which will appear on your screen to finish controller setup and you're off!

If you are unsure about any step to setup Nintendo WIi in your home, just consult the helpful list below:

• Place Your Wii properly - decide whether to place your Wii vertically or horizontally depending on your available space and air flow for the console.

• Plug your Wii in to your television and to a wall outlet using the adaptor included.

• Plug in your sensor bar and place it in a central location on top of your television set.

• Place AA batteries in your controllers and put a game in your Nintendo Wii unit.

• Turn on the console, turn your television to channel 3 and follow the instructions to complete setup.

• Have fun!<bio>For more helpful tips, reviews and resources on Nintendo Wii Downloads and Nintendo Wii Games, visit us.</bio>

When Nintendo released their new Wii system late last year, everyone was curious to see what the deal was with the long one-handed remote that was to serve as the console's main controller. Named for its resemblance to a television remote control, the Wii remote is more innovative and more user friendly than the traditional gamepad controllers. But even with all the motion detection and interactive play, how wonderful is the Wii Remote?

Responsive to every move you make, the motion detection feature of the Wii remote sets it apart from any other controller every made. Nintendo wanted to make something that anyone, even someone who has never played video games before, could pick up and easily adapt to. Any user of this remote would probably agree that Nintendo got the design and functionality spot on. You must just remember to secure the remote to your wrist with the strap so that it does not slip from your hand when you're playing a game.

The Wii remote uses Bluetooth wireless technology to communicate with the controller. That sets it apart from other remotes that use cumbersome cords and unreliable wireless. Up to four remotes can be picked up as far as 30 feet from the sensor, however performance is best when used within 16 feet. It's almost a moot point because it'd be hard to see the screen from that far away.

The Wii remote is very flexible and can be used by both right-handed and left-handed people. Hold it vertically for most games that require fighting, jumping, or swinging an object. For car games you can turn it horizontally and use it as a virtual steering wheel to race your car around the track. There's almost no maneuver that you can't execute with your Wii remote.

Nintendo designed several accessories for the Wii remote, although not all of them have been put to market. The nunchuck has a C button and trigger button, and can be used for many games, and comes in and oblong shape. The nunchuck plugs into the remote for communicating with the game, and it is held in your free hand. It's usually bundled together with with Wii console. The other remote attachment that was released by Nintendo is the classic controller, which looks like the old Nintendo gamepad controllers. This one can be used with those virtual games that you buy with Wii points. Virtual games are great because they make the selection of available games so much bigger. <bio>At http://nintentowii.besttipsonline.com you can get Nintendo Wii advice. </bio>

The Nintendo Wii revolution continues with the pending launch of the new Wii Fitness products as announced at this year's E3 2007. This brand new product from Nintendo, called Wii Fit, will take the form of a balance board controller accessory and a bundled exercise game.

The Wii Fitness products take off from where Wii Sports started by introducing active-play games that are not only great fun to play, but also great exercise as well. In fact the Wii balance board brings exercise and fitness for the entire body. The software and balance board is aimed at a large array of exercise based fun, including dancing, aerobics, balancing, and of course games.

The Wii Fit software uses the balance board to compile data in order to plan your fitness progress over a period of time. The software's fitness measurement system can collect data about an individual in order to keep track of their fitness goals. The fitness readings are presented in the way of a graph that measures your body mass index (BMI) and will adapt your Mii character accordingly. The Mii character is a animated character that represents an individual player's physique, so it's important to enter your stats correctly for accurate progress analysis.

Once your personal settings are calibrated, you can then start to have fun playing the fitness mini games. One of the most fun Wii Fitness games looks like the football heading game, in which the players are required to move their heads in the right direction to head the oncoming balls. Other mini games include doing hula hoops by shaking your hips and a marble madness style game where your balance is key to winning. The more serious fitness style games include doing strenuous balancing exercises, press-ups, and yoga.

The release date has still not been announced and neither has the price, but the price is rumoured to be in the range of $49 to $69. What the new Nintendo Wii Fitness products will hopefully bring is a whole new line up of interactive games. Who knows yet, but I can already imagine the likes of skiing, snowboarding, skate boarding, and so on. Maybe these future games could be used in conjunction with the Wii remote for a complete interactive experience?

Whatever happens next, the Nintendo Wii and the new Wii Fitness range are taking the console to a new level that the likes of Microsoft and Sony will find tough to match, especially at Nintendo's affordable prices. <bio>Wii First brings you the latest Nintendo Wii game reviews, news, previews and much more.

Our site URL is http://www.WiiFirst.net To get the latest Wii news stories, visit ours news pages at http://www.wiifirst.net/category/news/ </bio>

When I first attempted trying to learn everything about Nintendo DS Homebrew, I was fascinated by the concept that there were hundreds of games and applications available for my Nintendo DS - Absolutely FREE! I have to admit that I had no idea as to what Homebrew software was. I read about it in online Nintendo DS forums, and kept hearing about interesting and sometimes amazing homebrew applications and homebrew games that I could simply download for free and play them on my Nintendo DS or DS Lite.

The reality of cost free video games and applications would be exciting to any gamer, and I am definitely no exception to the rule. So, just what is homebrew? A NDS Lite homebrew game is software written by clever game designers for the Nintendo DS handheld. A very large number of the games being of the highest quality. Homebrew greatly increases the functionality of the DS. And boy did I dig up video games. A number of the homebrew Nintendo DS Games are lower quality, but a vast majority of them would make even the best commercial games jealous.

After spending my time searching for more information and I spent most of a full week doing nothing but research, and lots of homebrew game downloading, I realized that what I needed to buy was a device that allowed me to store and then play all of the homebrew software that I now had sitting on my PC hard drive. From my research I discovered that there are some 15 or 20 homebrew / development and flash kits available for the Nintendo DS and the Gameboy Advance. One of the most popular units was the Supercard SD and a very new one, called the M3 DS Simply. These little devices are touted by homebrew gamers as the easiest to use, and most affordable Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS Media managers / development systems.

If you have a Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS Lite hand held systems, I would recommend the Supercard SD because the Supercard SD can also be used on your Gameboy Advance. And there are literally thousands of homebrew games and applications available for the Gameboy Advance system. Nintendo DS Homebrew will catch up to those numbers too, and perhaps will have even more free games and applications. Where do you find all of these free applications and games? Just fire up your internet browser and go to your favorite search engine and type in either NINTENDO DS HOMEBREW or GAMEBOY ADVANCE HOMEBREW and you'll get a list pages and pages long of websites that talk about, cater to, or just plain carry all of the latest FREE homebrew software. It's almost an adventure really. And I would not be surprised if some of these hombrew programmers end up being commercial game programmers in the very near future. The quality of the games is just that good!

Both the Supercard SD and the M3 DS Simply do much more than just play homebrew Nintendo DS Roms. They play movies, mp3 music, allow you to check out your latest digital photos in the JPEG picture format that most digital cameras use. Both of these units also allow you to read ebooks right on your Nintendo DS screen in the form of TXT documents. Now, when I say movies, I really mean movies. With the included software you can convert your DVD movies to play on the Supercard SD or the M3 DS Simply, and watch your movies on the go.

The Supercard SD (SD stands for Secure Digital) and the M3 DS Simply both have an advantage over many development kits. The Supercard SD uses low cost Secure Digital memory cards, for unlimited storage capacity, whie the M3 DS Simply uses microSD cards. You can easily find SD and microSD cards at any electronics store such as Radio Shack, BestBuy and even on eBay if you want a bargain and can wait a few days to get the item in the mail. I make reference to an advantage because almost all other flash kits have built in memory. While this can be a good thing, it does hold you back when you're looking for extra storage for movies, games, or applications. <bio>Are you ready to get your hands on hundreds and hundreds of FREE Nintendo DS Homebrew Games? I thought to.

In order to play these homebrew games you'll need an NDS Roms Player like the M3 DS Simply or the R4 DS. You can find out more about both at http://www.ps2cover.com/nintendo-ds.shtml </bio>

The people in charge of making Pokemon popular again have done a great job. Pokemon was big a few years ago and it's recently made an amazing comeback. A whole new generation of kids are trying to catch them all.

It's a very good time to be a Pokemon fan. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl for the Nintendo DS have been in the Top 10 best selling games for months now and the Diamond and Pearl cartoon is pretty popular too. But why stop there? I have a vision and Pokemon people feel free to borrow this idea from me, that would make Pokemon an even more dominant gaming franchise. I'd like to see a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) based on the world of Pokemon.

Sure, I know that's there's a few Pokemon games online like Pokemon Crater and Pokemon Online (POL) but those games are pretty simple and based on the game play of the Game Boy Advance version of Pokemon. And I don't even think that Nintendo has anything to do with them. They could be one cease and desist letter away from being shut down.

I'd like to see a World of Warcraft style Pokemon game online. Use the same story line and game play as Diamond and Pearl but put the players in a cartoonish 3D environment. Choose your trainer avatar and start your adventure. Think about how cool it would be to wander around different towns and cities, catch wild Pokemon, train them, battle other trainers, do gym battles, collect badges and enter tournaments and do it all in a online 3D environment that you share with other Pokemon trainers. And to make it interesting they could add some members of Team Rocket to mix. Jessie and James could be bots that come along and try to steal your Pokemon.

This would be a great game for the Wii's Online Service. Pokemon Battle Revolution is out and it already has online play in Japan but that game is just an extension of Diamond and Pearl. Without a DS, that game isn't too good. No, they need to start over with a whole new online Pokemon game.

The Nintendo Wii is the hottest selling new video game console right now and it's outselling the PS3 and XBox 360. The Wii is still hard to find in the stores and that isn't going to change anytime soon. The Wii's only weakness seems to be it's online play which is weak at best. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is going to have online play but it's release has been pushed back to February. My Worlds of Warcraft Pokemon game idea (let's call it Worlds of Pokemon for this article) if done right, could become the game that puts the Wii Online Service on the map.

Hopefully someone at Nintendo has already come up with this idea and programmers are already hard at work on Worlds of Pokemon. If not, then I hope they have enough free time to read this article and get inspired. <bio>When Anthony Tripp isn't teaching his son how to catch them all, he's coming up with ideas about how to play Pokemon online and writing about it on his blog, http://www.pokemontoday.com </bio>

Any hard core gamers knows that many of the best games - or at least the most unique games, come right out of Japan. Most of these games never see the light of day in the United States or Europe and gamers are left wanting and drooling for games they'll never have the chance to play. At least that was the case with the Gamecube and now also with the Nintendo Wii. Then along came a little disc called the Freeloader, that allowed any Gamecube to play any Japanese game with ease, with no mod chip required and no need to open your console.

Why do I mention Gamecube and Wii playing import games? Simply because the Nintendo Wii is also compatible with every single Gamecube Game, including the FreeLoader disc. Because the Nintendo Wii can boot Gamecube Discs / games, you can also load the Freeloader and finally take advantage of all of the great Import games on the market. The Nintendo Wii Freeloader is a disc, that allows any Wii owner to play import Gamecube games without a mod chip. As you may have guessed, the Freeloader was not actually manufactured for the Nintendo Wii, but was instead a product that has been out for several years (with various updates) for the Nintendo Gamecube. Since the Wii can play Gamecube games and is backwards compatible, it will also load the FreeLoader on any Wii console allowing you to play any region Gamecube game with ease.

Now, if this were just any kind of disc, I wouldn't write a review on it. And often times, when I talk about import games, people ask me why I would want to play games that are all in Japanese and can't be played anyway. Or ask me what the big deal is with these games from Japan. The fact of the matter is, over 60% of Japanese import games can be played with no problem. I'm a big fan or racing games and some of the BEST racing games for Gamecube have only been released in Japan. The same would go for first person shooters. But more than that, some of the games are just so very unique, so well designed, that you must try them. You'll immediately become an import game fan once you do.

Regardless of the genre of games you like. By being able to play import games, you're actually expanding your software library, or at least the available selection by thousands of additional games. Many of these games you won't hear about at your local Blockbuster, or in magazine. But online review sites like IGN.com or GameSpot.com have entire sections devoted to import games and import gaming, because there are a tremendous amount of great games available.

This brings us back to the Freeloader. The Freeloader was developed by Datel as a means to cut out the need for installing a mod chip in your Gamecube console to have access, and the ability to play these games. Before the Freeloader, you would need to install a Gamecube Mod Chip like the Xeno Gamecube or the Viper Gamecube chip to play your import and personally backed up games. While the Freeloader won't let you play backup games, it will effortlessly allow you to play Import games from any region on any Gamecube.

I want to also say that this is NOT an article to promote the Freeloader as the next best thing since sliced The Legend Of Zelda for the Gamecube or Nintendo Wii. If you're not into Japanese games, or import games in general, and have no interest in them, then the Freeloader is not for you. It doesn't offer any extras or advantages for any Nintendo Wii or Gamecube owner who is happy to just play the offering of games available in their own country. Its sole purpose is to allow gamers like myself, and tens of thousands of others, to enable the playing of Import games. While I am stressing just Japanese games in this article as they are my own personal favorite. European gamers can also play the latest games released only in the USA on their PAL Gamecube or Nintendo Wii systems as well. Gamecube import games are not just from Japan. If you're a fan or Rally racing games, many of the best games in that genre are released in the UK and Europe.

Just how do you use the Gamecube Freeloader on the Nintendo Wii? First of all, think of it as a Nintendo Wii Freeloader. Insert the disc into your Nintendo Wii just as you would your Gamecube, and then select it from your Wii Dashboard. It'll load up, and you'll be greeted by the Freeloader main menu, where you'll have several selections. While it isn't loaded with features that'll blow you away - that is exactly the reason it's so easy to use. I suppose there aren't really a slew of features you could pack in to software that is intended to do just one thing - play import video games. We can thank the simplicity and ease of use due to the few options it has.

The Freeloader is easy to use, both on the Gamecube and the Nintendo Wii console. You simply put the disc in the Gamecube or your Nintendo Wii, wait for it to load and then pick the map representing the region you want to play. You'll then have to eject the disc from your Nintendo Wii, or open the Gamecube lid, and take out the Freeloader, put in the game you want to play and it will just load for you. It couldn't get any easier really.

In closing, the Freeloader for the Gamecube or Nintendo Wii is meant to do one thing, and one thing only. It does it with ease and work perfectly each and every time. It's not intended to do anything else. Comparing it to other software or add ons for either the Gamecube or the Nintendo Wii would be pointless.

If you want to start getting the latest import games without having to wait until the hit the local market - if they ever do at all, then the Freeloader is the easiest and cheapest way to get you started. <bio>Steven Fields is a Video Game and Game Accessory reviewer.
After a successful succession of the Game Cube system, Nintendo Wii has been available on the market for a few years. With unique features, small size and a level of innovation unheard of in the video game industry, it is making quite a name for itself. There are also some great games that are available for the system as well. Some of the games available include Red Steel, Super Smash Bros, Brawl and of course the ever popular Super Mario Galaxy. If you have Game Cube games, don't worry, you can play those games on your Nintendo Wii as well.

What are the best games?

Sports Games -- One of the most popular sports games is the Wii sports game. This game is actually five games in one. You can play golf, tennis, baseball, bowling and boxing. However, what's unique about the Nintendo Wii experience is that you can actually simulate the natural sports movements of the games. For instance, if you are boxing you can simulate actual punching movements. If you are playing baseball you can simulate swinging a bat or pitching a baseball.

Franchise Games -- The Nintendo company is known for building franchise brands that are unique and exclusive to their systems. Every video game fan is at least aware of the Legend of Zelda franchise. Now Zelda fans can experience Zelda in a new way because of the interactive format of Nintendo Wii games. WarioWare: Smooth Moves is another franchise game that you can enjoy on the Nintendo platform.

Where can you get these games?

Traditionally the only way you can get video games for any game console is to either purchase them from a video game store or to rent them at a movie or video game rental company. Now with Nintendo Wii games a new method of distribution has been created. You can now download Nintendo Wii games over the Internet by connecting your system to Internet access.

Wii Media Downloads site is one of the first web sites available for the purposes of providing Nintendo Wii owners with the ability of accessing Wii media downloads for your system. With this web site you now have the ability to download music, movies and games to your Nintendo Wii entertainment system.

So how does this web site work? Basically you pay a one time fee of $49.95. This is a one time payment that you make to purchase a membership to the web site. Once you are a member, you never have to pay again. This means you can download as much content as you want from the web site for no additional cost.

In order to use the web site for Wii Media Downloads you will need a PC and a high speed Internet connection along with your Nintendo Wii system. Once you sign up and get an account, you will be able to log into the membership area.

The membership area gets you access to file sharing networks where you can download whatever you are looking for. You also get access to a special software application that allows you to convert the files over to the Nintendo Wii.

Other advantages for Wii media downloads membership are 24/7 free support, fastest download speed, huge media selection and a simple usage.

I would say the biggest disadvantage is that this web site has no control over the databases where you will download from. This means you could very easily download copyrighted material. In the United States many copyright owners are tracking this and they have the ability to file a complaint to your internet service provider and even sue you for breaching their copyright. Therefore you need to be careful and make sure you don't use this type of service to infringe on someone's copyright. If you suspect a download might be infringing on a copyright, don't download it.

You can try the web site out if you want as they have a very generous refund policy. As long as you request a refund within 56 days, you will get your money back.<bio>For more tips and reviews on Wii Game Downloads, Visit us at: Wii Fast Downloads.</bio>
