There are many approaches directed by the critics to understand and explain Hamlet and the English society of the sixteenth century. Usual vision of Hamlet as a victim is now much discussed and more often concerned to be doubtful. Yet, there are many evidences of Hamlet acting as a murderer rather than a victim.

The first obvious evidence is that Hamlet has to see just enemies and reject any manifestation of friendship or sympathy. Why did Hamlet have to change his mind and see just enemies? Did he have the will to choose or it was his fate? The common idea believes at those times Hamlet had to accept the people and circumstances as fate and did not have any choice. But traditional beliefs were unstable at Hamlet's times and there were many theological and philosophical views with different attitudes to human freedom, will and choice possibilities. The variety of existed perspectives and theories reflected in human minds and Hamlet was not the exception. Hamlet clashes with circumstances and cases which make him act accordingly or leave him the possibility of choice and freedom of decision.

At first it seems that Hamlet does not have a choice to judge either Claudius or somebody else because he must believe the Ghost who is his father. But while thinking after while the question appears: why must Hamlet believe the Ghost? The simplest and most obvious answer is: it is his father and he wants to be revenged by his son. Taking into consideration blurred boundaries between honesty and betray, love and hate, respect and abasement in Hamlet's mind the only decision he has to make is to follow the Ghost's will to be revenged and insensibly judge Claudius. The next question that prejudices Hamlet's absence of choice is: if Hamlet does not have any choice why he does not just kill Claudius and creates his own play engaging all people around him in its scenery. Hamlet does not want just to kill, he wants to make Claudius, Laertes, Polonius, Gertrude feel the same as he feels while losing the loved people.

The next evidence is Hamlet's attitude to Ophelia. Hamlet rejects Ophelia upon his decision and not the Ghost's. His own will to rudely repudiate Ophelia's love can be explained by Hamlet's common attitude to all women because of his mother's betray and marriage. Hamlet comes to the thought that all women are very poor and weak and can not fight for their love and freedom. Why does Hamlet believe in women's weakness so easily? Is his belief supported just by his mother's deeds? The answer can be found in ideological views of Renaissance times that proved the man's responsibility to judge woman's behavior and decide if she was right. The Renaissance man had rights to punish even physically his wife if he can see the crime in the woman's actions. It was very difficult for Hamlet of the sixteenth century to leave the judgment of his mother's actions for her own will and decision. The common attitude of all women's crimes was only Hamlet's will. So Hamlet's Mousetrap to revenge and his attitude to Ophelia are made upon his own will but not fate. May be Hamlet comes to the clear understanding of his own responsibility for his behavior by the end of the play when he apologizes to Laertes and explains that his actions were not in harmony with his mind. Hamlet's recognition of the separation between his thoughts and feelings and his deeds only proves the recognition of his guilt.

In his play Shakespeare demonstrates the primary inevitability of circumstances that makes people start acting but the choice of how to act and what to do still remains for person. In the beginning of the play Hamlet faces definite situation which makes him react in some way. He has the choice to not stay in Elsinore but continue his study. In this case the Ghost might not follow him and demand the revenge. The other way to be a murderer and escape the tragedy was to accept the circumstances and people as they are and leave the power to judge for the God or the court. This way seems impossible for Hamlet for two reasons: he cannot rely on the God's judgment because he does not know which God to believe and is not even sure if the God exists; and he does not have to respect the Elsinore's court because it has demonstrated its corruption and treachery.

Hamlet has different choices of how to find the way out keeping his hands clear. Therefore, it is obvious that Hamlet becomes a murderer by his own decision. <bio>The article was produced by the writing expert of http://www.masterpapers.com.
Can you stop the leap of the snake which intends to bite you?

Can you force the murderer who has come to kill you to drop the knife?

Can you stop the tsunami from wrecking your house?

You might be surprised ,but the answer to all the above three questions is "Yes You can do it". It might take a long time but i want to show you how it is done.....

I want to make one thing clear first. I have not attempted to do any of these three things stated above. However, i have applied the knowledge which i have gained thru deep insight and thru learning from great masters to similar events of a lower intensity and they have proved to be highly effective.

Before i reveal it all to you I would like to tell you of a real life incident which will help you understand this concept much better. It was in 1996 when i was in Pittsburgh,USA that i fell terribly ill. All the medicines which the doctors prescribed had failed. I went to every specialist but no one could identify my illness. I had high fever, severe vomiting and my weight was reducing by the day. It was terrible. I was admitted to the hospital at least half a dozen times. No doctor could locate the exact nature of the virus .... I came back to India half dead... My parents got me admitted to one of the best hospitals in Mumbai. However, In India it was still worse ... At the age of 24 I was going through the worst moments of my life.

Then suddenly everything changed for the better.... In walked the No 1 doctor of Mumbai. He was 69 at that time. He smiled at me ... I smiled back with whatever little energy i had.... "We will make you fit in two weeks time..." These were his exact words. Like a master at work ,he calmly went thru my medical history, asked a few questions, examined my body and then prescribed two tests and left...

Late evening the next day the doctor came back again and said "We have identified your illness and your medication will start tomorrow. You will be fine in a weeks time...." Within a week of taking those medicines i was back to normal. I had no fever and vomiting after a week. My parents were happy and i was relieved...

Three months of taking all the medicines prescribed by the world renowned doctors could not cure my illness... Finally the right diagnosis of the disease did the trick.....

What is the lesson for everyone here?

The No 1 lesson I learnt is "Action is the next step after Knowledge". It is not action that is important . . It is not the number of hours you work, or your honest commitment and energy which will help you get the things you really want. All these qualities are of very little use if you are not aware of your deepest intention, your innermost dreams. Like the doctors in my case you will be putting in your best efforts, your total commitment and energy and yet you would not achieve anything that you truly want and will remain unhappy. We pride ourselves for the number of hours we work everyday, of the focus and commitment we put in our work but we care very little for knowing our deepest and most genuine desires. We do not pay any attention to it. Think about it=85.When i use the word know, i mean those wants which stir your soul and not your small little selfish interests of seeking money and power....

The first step is in truly knowing. Taking action is simple. Action becomes stressful and frustrating when you do not know ..

You can get anything that you want only when you know what you truly want.

You can get out of any problem in your life if you can get to the root cause of the problem.

If you can go the source of the problem, the originator of destruction, the initial vibrations which forced a man to pick up the knife and murder you, or the snake to sting you or the tsunami to destroy your house, you can alter that decision and seek remedy... The force that that can propel a murderer to drop his knife, or a snake to lower its hood or a tsunami to mellow down is the same force that had enabled the doctor to diagnose the illness properly and cure it. It is only that the intensity of the force has to be much stronger to enable the murderer to drop his knife, or the snake to lower its hood. Your genuine intention and your deepest knowledge of the source of the problem will help you identify the hidden cause of the problem and thus resolve it....

You get only one second to act in all these three cases but if you had complete knowledge of the source of these problems your action might be significantly different and so yield positive results. It might take a decade or more to put these things to practice but the knowledge that you can solve any problem by going to the root cause of the problem remains intact be it diagnosing an illness or in eliminating the motive of a murderer or stopping a snake from biting you..... <bio>Lecturer, entrepreneur and Fortune 500 business consultant, Vish Writer is the author of the Amazon No 1 bestseller, "The Joy of Becoming God" For more information, visit: http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com http://www.vish-writer.com http://www.simplifyyourthoughts.com </bio>

When The American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law held its annual meeting in Chicago recently, one of the panel discussions was entitled 'Serial Killers: From Cradle to Grave' which addressed the perceived limitations of FBI profiles. The aim of this article is to review the main points raised during this fascinating debate.

Among the issues raised were the following:

The notorious BTK murderer Dennis Rader who remained at large for over 30 years did not fit into the FBI's profiling methodology in relation to crime scenes.

Florida prostitute Aileen Wuornos convicted and subsequently executed for the murder of several men was effectively excluded from profiling typologies because the FBI database of convicted serial killers did not include women.

The FBI tends to categorise a crime scene as either organized or disorganized. An organized crime scene is said to highlight the control and careful planing the suspect has displayed in his/her environment when commissioning the crime; thereby pointing to an educated and socially competent individual. In contrast, a disorganized crime scene points to a lack of control and an absence of intelligent decision making. The disorganised suspect does little if anything to cover his/her tracks, pointing to a suspect who is either of low intelligence or a habitual user of drugs and/or alcohol.

On the surface this seems to be a perfectly reasonable classification system but one of the issues under discussion was the fact that crime scenes often have both organized and disorganized aspects.

Dr Charles L. Scott who led the panel discussion states that the actions of BTK murderer Dennis Rader provide a clear example of this. Scott suggests Rader's first crime scene demonstrates this ambiguity as there was clear evidence of advance planning and his domination of the environment but there were several disorganized elements as well e.g. leaving behind the Venetian blind cords he used as a strangling device.

Scott also points to the problems associated with the fact that in developing profiles of serial killers, the FBI draws on data and findings elicited from interviews with just 36 convicted serial murderers, all of whom were male and 90% of them white; which raises the question of relevance in relation to female or non-caucasian serial killers.

According to Dr Scott "The FBI profiling method has many positive attributes. But it also has some inherent limitations", and that the purpose of the panel discussion was not to critique the FBI, but acquaint forensic psychiatrists with how the FBI profiles serial killers. <bio>Since 2000, David Webb has been involved in collaborative research with teams of forensic scientists in the UK, US and Canada. Here's another question, which as a reader, and then as a writer do you prefer?

I think you have to have both.

Subplot = A subordinate plot in fiction or drama. In our terms (A relating plot) Basically a hidden plot that some readers miss and writers don't know they have written, which helps bring the romance to the surface. Also known as twist and turns through out the romance.

A secondary plot is second story happening in the process of the romance. Such as a Mystery Romance, solving the murders.

As a reader I prefer and expect both. As a writer I love the secondary plot and fear the subplot. Not only do you have to worry about coming up with ways for the romance to move foreword and the secondary plot to come to an end but you have to add this hidden tale of the romance. Man what a pain in the ole writers wrist.

What makes a good secondary plot? And what makes a good sub-plot? Can you give an example? And tell us how you would use those tools to your benefit?

A good Secondary plot has to be strong enough to hold up to the tension of the romance plot, without taking away from it. Basically in my book La Roe's Finding the murderer and bringing him to justice is the secondary plot.

The subplot was Max teaching Emerald how to love and trust again. This had to happen for Emerald and the real hero Stephan to end up together.

By weaving a good subplot and secondary plot you end up with a gripping romance even if it's a comedy since all parts play off the main plot, ROMANCE. <bio>Dee Owens writes articles for http://www.articles3000.com.
The argument as to whether video games are good or not is perhaps one of the hottest debates today. There are smart, well-educated, well-meaning people on each side of the debate.

As a non-gamer, I have an interesting perspective bring to the discussion - I'm a non-gamer who views video games favorably. Why? Allow me to explain.

Probably the largest complaint against video games is that they encourage violence. Perhaps they do. But I think that they are only a part of the picture. Playing a shooting game on your computer does not and can not by itself create a murderer. There are many other factors involved. In my experience, the gamers that I know are certainly not violent.

I believe that playing violent video games may increase violence only if and when other factors are present. I feel the same about violent movies, which I generally do not mind. Take, for example, Gladiator or The Patriot, both R rated for violence. After watching those movies, I had an increased hatred of un-needed violence. They did not make me violent. Instead, they re-enforced my belief that cruelty is wrong, and violence should be avoided if possible.

Another argument against computer and video games is that they are sedentary. Kids who play them often end up overweight, lazy, and unskilled in other ares of life. Well, that may have some truth in it, but that can be said about lot's of things - including a desk job! I believe that the key is balance and moderation. Just as running marathon every other day would be detrimental to your health, so is playing too many video games. Before I close, let me explain why I am a non-gamer - it's because I'd rather go hunting or fishing that play a game about hunting, shooting, fishing, etc. <bio>Visit http://www.leetservers.com/ for quality game servers. </bio>

I'm mourning the death of my finances. I killed them and student loans were my weapon of choice. Consider this my confession.

It all began in 2005. It had been a whole year since I had graduated from college with my bachelor degree. I considered myself a lifelong student and still yearned to continue my education. An advertisement for an online university caught my eye and, after filling out a brief survey, a representative contacted me. At first I was hesitant; my finances were far from favorable and education is certainly costly. The representative, an older woman with a hint of emphysema in her voice, convinced me that student loans were the answer. Of course she sugarcoated it by calling the student loans "financial aid", but no worries, I didn't have to pay any of it back until I graduated. In fact, with a federal student loan, the government even paid my interest for me! What a deal!

I went through the motions, signing promissory notes, not really reading the parts about interest rates and payments. "I'll worry about that when the time comes," I thought. I accepted every penny that the lenders offered me, never stopping to think that I was racking up debt. In fact, I borrowed enough money to pay for tuition, fees, and books and even had enough to spare. I felt a twinge of guilt as I raided my favorite stores in the mall, but quickly dismissed it, rationalizing my splurging as necessary student expenses.

Quarter after quarter, the lenders sent me money and I faithfully cashed my checks. It was like I was addicted. I studied, I passed my courses, and thousands of dollars later, I received my MBA. After receiving my graduate degree, I just knew I would triple my salary. I didn't.

Several months after I graduated, my grace period on my loans came to an abrupt end. I received an ominous note in the mail. "I couldn't have borrowed that much money!" I exclaimed, dumbfounded by the monthly bill that looked a lot like my rent payment. There had to be some mistake, some kind of miscalculation because I certainly couldn't afford to pay that. I did what any law-abiding citizen accused of murder would do--I denied it. Perhaps if I ignored it, the debt would just go away. But it didn't. I was no longer a student and I had to repay my student loan debt. Every penny.

I confessed to my husband. "Honey, I'm a murderer," I blurted out as I looked him square in the eyes. "I killed my finances."

"You're sure you killed them?" he replied nonchalantly. "Maybe you're exaggerating. Maybe its just assault with a deadly weapon."

"No," I shook my head solemnly. "They're dead."

I quickly realized that my student loans weren't going away. Trying to fit that enormous monthly payment into my budget was like trying to shove a square peg into a round hole. It wasn't going to work. I just knew we'd never get to go out to dinner or catch a movie again. We'd be forced to eat Ramen noodles for dinner every night. I'd have to sell everything I owned and pawn my jewelry.

"Would you be offended if I became a stripper?" I asked my husband. He rolled his eyes.

I knew I was a murderer and accepted the fact that I would have to do my time. I confessed to my best friend that I was depressed.

"Have you thought about consolidation?" she asked cheerfully.

That one little word, "consolidation", saved my life and kept me from a death sentence. I did some research and found that, not only could I consolidate my student loans, I could lower my interest rates as well as my monthly payment. This was the redemption I was looking for.
I sat down with my bills and a calculator. I had consolidated my student loans into one monthly payment that was manageable. "Honey, I'm on parole!" I exclaimed to my husband as I pecked away happily at my calculator.

After the turmoil, I was finally able to accept that my finances had died. I had been ignorant, unaware that financial aid could be a weapon of mass destruction if I allowed it. However, there is life after student loan debt. I was able to consolidate my student loans into a payment that I could afford.

No longer did I have to look at debt repayment as the enemy. No longer did I have to feel guilty for borrowing money for my education. Now I had hope--hope that I would be able to once again take control of my finances and one day be free of student loan debt.

One evening after dinner, I turned to my husband. "I think I would like to get a PhD." He rolled his eyes.<bio>Want to learn more about Student Loan Consolidation?
I watched an old Alfred Hitchcock film the other night entitled I Confess. It starred a very young Montgomery Clift as a priest. The movie also stars Anne Baxter. At the beginning of the movie an immigrant murders a wealthy man from the town during a robbery on accident. After the murder he returns to the rectory where he works and confesses the crime to Father Logan played by Montgomery Clift. The next day when the murder is discovered, Father Logan must act like he knows nothing of the crime. However what the immigrant didn't know is that Father Logan would later be accused of the crime.

When Mike Logan returned from the war his sweetheart, Ruth played Anne Baxter had married another. He did not realize this until after spending one last night with her in an abandoned gazebo. The next morning the owner of the gazebo catches them and knows the husband of his sweetheart. Upon hearing that she is married, Mike Logan leaves and joins the priesthood. The owner of the gazebo, Mr. Villette, starts to black mail the young wife. After five years, Anne meets up with Father Logan and they decide to talk to Mr. Villette about the black mail. Unfortunately, he is killed the night before.

The police find out this information and start to suspect Father Logan of the crime. The interesting part of the story is seeing a man accused of a crime he didn't commit and knows who committed it, but is drawn to the loyalty of an oath not to reveal. Even up until the end of the movie when Father Logan is cleared and they suspect the immigrant he does not reveal who the true murderer is.

This is not one of my favorite Alfred Hitchcock films, but definitely worth checking out. If you enjoyed this movie I would recommend Hitchcock's others such as Strangers on a Train or Dial M for Murder. <bio> http://www.youshouldtryit.com/montgomery_clift.html </bio>

Anybody who commits an act of theft of any kind belongs in jail.

Similarly, anyone who takes the law into his own hands even after being cautioned by law enforcement not to -- and then shoots anyone, including burglars, in the back, "for sport," unprovoked or just because he thinks he can get away with it (with the aid of public sentiment) -- is a cold-blooded murderer.

That's exactly what Joe Horn, a vigilante emboldened by the on-going "racist anti-immigrant" rhetoric did -- shoot unarmed burglars, who happened to be "Black Hispanic" immigrants, in the back, allegedly after a break-and-enter at his neighbor's house, in Pasadena, Texas -- The "Hanging" State.

Had Joe Horn witnessed them assaulting his neighbor, the use of deadly force would have been warranted...but even then, since the burglars were on their way out of the property, a warning shot followed by a "citizens arrest" would have been most appropriate under these circumstances, for after all, the police were on the way, and had already cautioned him numerous times to stay put!

A fellow author, Mr. Pantagruel looks at this incident in a simple but very insightful manner:

What if......

A man sees 2 guys leaving the neighbors house with what looks like a TV, and a big box of stuff. The man calls 9-11, and even against the warnings of the 9-11 operator, goes out and shoots the 2 guys dead! When the police show up, they arrest the man for murder! Those '2 guys' were just friends of the neighbor coming to get stuff that they had been storing there. OR.... What if the man misses, and kills a little kid?

The whole thing is a can of worms! That's why we have highly trained police officers to respond to the needs of the community. We don't need trigger happy bigots with a third grade education shooting at anybody they want! The only opportunity that Mr. Horn stumbled onto, is to go to prison for murder!

The audio below indicates that Joe Horn never bothered to issue a "Stop Thief" warning to the two burglars, but marched out of his house intent on killing the two with pre-meditation.

Here is the audio/video: [1]

Here's an excerpt from the transcript of Joe Horn's 911 call: [2]

Joe Horn took Texas justice into his own hands and committed pre-meditated murder, and he must be charged and prosecuted.

Even in Texas, the "Hanging" state, burglary is not punishable by "death by shotgun -- in the back."

That the two immigrants are "illegal" is irrelevant, unless it is okay to shoot anyone in the back because they are "illegal."

A human life is not "illegal" until it takes away another life with pre-meditation, therefore Joe HORN has rendererd himself "illegal" and should be put to death or imprisoned for life.

I guess in Texas, if you are an "illegal immigrant," your life is illegal too!, and Texas, a Republican state has laws which might just help this vigilante moron escape justice.

Compare HORN's incident to that a John White, 54,[3] a black man who shot a white boy in Brooklyn, New York, and who is being tried for manslaughter -- for defending his son against what he saw as a racist white mob.

.....or the case of two Border Patrol agents[4] who attacked an unarmed border-crosser who was trying to surrender, shot at him 15 times and wounded him as he fled, then tampered with the crime scene and failed to report the shooting as required to their supervisors.

The self-ordained independent "Anti-Immigrant Populist Propagandist," CNN's and America's modern day Dr. Joseph Goebbels[5], who's latest book I hereby christen: "Independents Day - Awakening the American 'Racist' Spirit,"[6] describes these two as "outstanding Border Patrol agents," -- two "thugs in uniform" who were sentenced to terms of 11 and 12 years by a federal jury of their peers last October.

Lou Dobbs, the CNN anchor obsessed with undocumented immigration, parrots incessantly, almost everyday, about these two murderers -- in order to promote his racist agenda against immigrants. He has featured their case at least 131 times, including a one-hour special, according to the September issue of Texas Monthly. They've been glorified by anti-immigration websites and lionized by politicians like U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.)[7]. Even the American Freedom Riders, a nativist biker gang, calls them "persecuted."

All because the man shot by Ignacio "Nacho" Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean turned out to be a drug smuggler (although Ramos and Compean didn't know that when they opened fire on Feb. 17, 2005).

Numerous cases of vigilantism and racist attacks on immigrants go un-reported in the United States. Families of immigrants are being petrol bombed, threatened and killed by racist thugs. Immigrants(legal and "illegal") are under siege, and are terrified all over this land.

Nooses are appearing everywhere[8].

If Joe Horn goes unpunished...and as the Republican "Who Is The Meanest Anti-Immigrant" Presidential Candidate chest-thumping continues to escalate, much more worse things are likely to happen,... most of which will go un-reported[9].

As expected, Nazi Propagandist Lou Dobbs, last Thursday night, thrust himself in favor of Joe HORN -- essentially, he played these two snippets of the 911 call:

Horn: I'm doing this. .. .. .. Horn: [yelling] Move, you're dead! [Sound of shots being fired]

....then proceeded to "analyze" the shooting together with an obviously biased and "stage-managed" Texas police officer -- strenuously trying to twist the case in favor of Mr. Horn.

This stupid "hillbilly" must be punished to set an example to the rest who might want to do the same.

Even in the wildest of the "Wild-West," one never shot a thief in the back. A warning to "Drop It" was always given, followed by a "Fair" fight, if necessary -- shooting someone in the back without provocation, with malicious pre-meditation and "just because you could do it" -- was considered cold-blooded murder, and it still is today!

I really doubt if Mr. HORN would have shot burglars if they had been white -- for in these United States, per Leonard Pitts (columnist for The Miami Herald) -- "The idea that some of us are less than the rest of us, that some are roaches, vermin, viruses, parasites, infestations, beasts or sub-humans to whom no one owes no duty of human decency or commiseration, didn't start with the Nazis. It is as old as Cain, and as widespread as the common cold."

The decent thing that Mr. HORN should have done, was to let the police do their job, and not be judge, jury and executioner all at once.

Joe Horn is a despicable vigilante, a killer!,...emboldened by the vicious and uncouth "pandering" of Republican Presidential candidates to the racially intolerant one third of America.

SOURCES QUOTED IN ARTICLE: Supporting links to [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] may be found here: http://www.afroarticles.com/article-dashboard/Article/Texas-Vigilante-Joe-H= orn---A-Cold-Blooded-Murderer-/66852 <bio>James Opiko -- Writes For http://www.afroarticles.com and http://PoliticalArticles.NET Blog ( http://www.politicalarticles.net/blog/ ) -- Get all blog posts at this location: http://www.politicalarticles.net/blog/crawlpage.html . </bio>

The movie 'The Usual Suspects' has a great interrogation scene.

The detective says to the suspect, "The first thing I learned on the job, know what it was? How to spot a murderer. Let's say you arrest three guys for the same killing. Put them all in jail overnight. The next morning, whoever is sleeping is your man. If you're guilty, you know you're caught, you get some rest - let your guard down, you follow?"

When the whole Larry Craig fiasco came out, I thought back to that scene.

For a while, this story was all the media was reporting on. Larry Craig, senator from Idaho, was arrested after an officer investigating lewd conduct was tapped on the foot, allegedly, apparently, by Mr. Craig.

Craig pled guilty to a misdemeanor on August 8th after paying $500 in fines.

And later, when it came to light, a spokesperson for Craig said it was a big "misunderstanding".

Huh? A misunderstanding. But he pled guilty. Why would he do that?

Craig later said, "I should have had the advice of counsel in resolving this matter. In hindsight, I should not have pled guilty. I was trying to handle this matter myself quickly and expeditiously."

This is where I see incongruity with Mr. Craig:

1. Innocent people don't plead guilty. Innocent people put up a fight if they are wrongly accused.

2. Mr. Craig didn't call for his attorney. The first thing anyone does--guilty and innocent--is call an attorney. The quickest and most expeditious way to handle a legal problem is to get represented.

3. Craig said, "I am not gay - nor have I ever been gay." This sounds like he believes it is possible to have been gay and then become ungay. It's waffling.

Lastly, but maybe the most incongruous of all:

4. He didn't immediately tell his wife! Now, if I were arrested for something as preposterous as this, I'd go straight home to my wife and tell her, "Listen to what happened to me today. You're not going to believe this."

Then Senator Craig decided that the media was to blame.

It's all because of the Idaho Statesman. They've been "relentlessly and viciously" harassing him.

The media is usually an excellent villain because they do get so much wrong, so it's a pretty safe bet as far as scapegoats go. Unfortunately, Mr. Craig has a "history" and his anger doesn't seem very righteous.

Now look at this situation in terms of persuasion: Whether the allegations are true or false, how would you have framed the story under these circumstances?

Did his incongruity give him away? And what can he do to unframe himself? <bio>Kenrick Cleveland teaches techniques to earn the business of affluent clients using persuasion.
If you think you can put on the deerstalker hat, shrug in the oversize coat and hold the magnifying glass to your right eye and already have the spirit of Sherlock Holmes with you, better think again. Becoming a private investigator is not a joke. It is a pretty dangerous job that requires a lot of skill and a scent for danger if need be.

Of course not every job is dangerous. In fact, some private investigators lead oh so boring lives. Instead of gallivanting around town in pursuit of a murderer, others just do background checks, file for missing persons resort and tag along spouses that are doing their extra-spousal activities. In short, not everything is about murder.

Still, whether the assignment involves life and limb or just plain commonsense, it is still not easy to become a private investigator.

First, you must have the instinct for the job. This means that you are naturally curious and ponderous. You don't just give up when a person tells you one thing. Investigators are remarkably persistent. They will delve deeper and deeper until everything is cleared up.

Another trait that one has to have in order to be a good private investigator is a good judgment of character. This means that you can make conclusions about a character based on the actions and words. Investigators can sense a liar just by talking to him. This does not mean that they have ESP or that they can read minds. They are just naturally observant and nothing can escape their minds.

Of course, some skills are also required to be developed. One of them is of course the ability to pull the trigger and actually hit the target. Investigators especially those that deal with high-profile crimes are issued firearms for their protection and of course their clients' if need be. Another skill that they must acquire is of course the art of doing undercover work. To be so conspicuous that one already blends in on the environment.

All these are taught in private investigator schools that everybody should enroll in. This is not to say that learning from experience and fieldwork is no match for school learning; school is just important because this is the way to gain a license to operate. Most states require their private investigators to attend school and require license. This makes regulations easier for them.

Another essential for private investigators are the gadgets like a camera, preferably with a telephoto lens that can take pictures from a mile long vantage point; the tape recorder, and the video, just in case you would be needing to record anything. <bio>Low Jeremy maintains http://private-investigator.ArticlesForReprint.com.
What does it mean to be a Christian? Is it just joining some church or a club called religion? Can a person really know God personally or is Christianity just another religion looking for answers?

Knowing Jesus Christ is a relationship not a religion as some might think. Anyone can debate the question, "is God for real" but sadly so many ignore the fact that Jesus Christ longs to reveal Himself in a very personal way if only we would allow Him too. The difference of Christianity than all of the other religions is the Holy Spirit which reveals God's presence and power. Knowing the presence of Jesus Christ is not just emotions as the world sees it. The presence of the Lord changes lives forever; there are countless of testimonies of the life changing power of God. So calling Christianity a religion is not a correct term; Christianity is a relationship not a religion. Those who assume that believers in Christ have just another religion are missing the point in being a Christian; it is to know Jesus Christ personally. I don't just know about God; I know Him personally. Religious people are easy to spot, they become professional debaters instead of God lovers; they become critical instead of compassionate. They are full of knowledge but dead spiritually.

Being a Christian who loves Jesus is one who has experienced His presence and power; it is total surrender. It only took one experience to change Saul the murderer to Paul a mighty man of God. When you truly hunger to know Jesus Christ more personally you will seek Him with the whole heart. That is what separates religion from being a Christian; you can have all the knowledge of your religion but that will never change you from the inside out. Only knowing Jesus Christ personally can change the way a person is from the inside out. When trouble hits your life and you find yourself in despair; what will religion do for you? Only a real experience of God's love can get you through the hard times. Look at the days we are living in; great darkness all around, what can religion do for anyone? Without the knowing that Jesus Christ is there for you no-matter what; life can become very fearful. So many are asking, "where is God in all this darkness and uncertainty" if they only understood that Jesus is standing with arms wide open and saying, "come".

Only when a person forgets about religion and all the traditions of men and gets serious about knowing God can that person find what they have been longing for all of their life. Christianity is not about what denomination you belong to or what title you have in the church it is about knowing God personally. Weather you are Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran or Catholic we are all God's children. Being religious is nothing but dead works of men but when a person experiences a true love that only Jesus Christ can bring; that person's life will be changed for ever more.<bio>Jason Powers a Christian Writer in the state of Florida.
In the late-1980s, a one-minute segment on The Tracy Ullman Show (since long forgotten, except in trivia questions) morphed into its own series. That series was The Simpsons, and it became an anchor for the then-burgeoning FOX network. With a wildly original cast of oddball characters, The Simpsons instantly struck a chord with audiences, becoming the longest running prime time show among all genres, not just the animation genre. Loved by audiences from age 2 to 102, the show is not only hilarious, but in all likelihood, one of the best satires of modern day American life.

The Simpsons (Season 3) DVD offers a number of hilarious episodes including the season premiere in which Homer's co-workers have him committed after they mistake him for a mental patient. While in the New Bedlam Home for the Emotionally Interesting, Homer meets a tall, stocky white man who claims to be Michael Jackson. The Simpsons befriend the man who eventually admits to being bricklayer Leon Kompowsky... Other notable episodes include "When Flanders Failed" in which Ned Flanders opens a store at the local mall called the "Leftorium" (catering only to left-handed customers) and "Lisa's Pony" in which Lisa's overwhelming desire to have her own Pony nearly drives Homer to an early death as he works 24-hours-a-day to afford the expensive pet...

Below is a list of episodes included on The Simpsons (Season 3) DVD:

Episode 36 (Stark Raving Dad) Air Date: 09-19-1991 Episode 37 (Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington) Air Date: 09-26-1991 Episode 38 (When Flanders Failed) Air Date: 10-03-1991 Episode 39 (Bart the Murderer) Air Date: 10-10-1991 Episode 40 (Homer Defined) Air Date: 10-17-1991 Episode 41 (Like Father, Like Clown) Air Date: 10-24-1991 Episode 42 (Treehouse of Horror 2) Air Date: 10-31-1991 Episode 43 (Lisa's Pony) Air Date: 11-07-1991 Episode 44 (Saturdays of Thunder) Air Date: 11-14-1991 Episode 45 (Flaming Moe's) Air Date: 11-21-1991 Episode 46 (Burns Verkaufen Der Kraftwerk) Air Date: 12-05-1991 Episode 47 (I Married Marge) Air Date: 12-26-1991 Episode 48 (Radio Bart) Air Date: 01-09-1992 Episode 49 (Lisa the Greek) Air Date: 01-23-1992 Episode 50 (Homer Alone) Air Date: 02-06-1992 Episode 51 (Bart the Lover) Air Date: 02-13-1992 Episode 52 (Homer at the Bat) Air Date: 02-20-1992 Episode 53 (Separate Vocations) Air Date: 02-27-1992 Episode 54 (Dog of Death) Air Date: 03-12-1992 Episode 55 (Colonel Homer) Air Date: 03-26-1992 Episode 56 (Black Widower) Air Date: 04-09-1992 Episode 57 (The Otto Show) Air Date: 04-23-1992 Episode 58 (Bart's Friend Falls in Love) Air Date: 05-07-1992 Episode 59 (Brother Can You Spare Two Dimes?)
One of the best shows of the 1980s, MacGyver has a dedicated fan base even to this day. Richard Dean Anderson plays the role of MacGyver, a cerebral and charismatic agent of the Phoenix Foundation for Research. A different hero even by the standards of today's TV series, MacGyver had an exaggerated fear of heights. He was also a pacifist who never relied on weapons, but instead on the ability to deploy his brain and think his way out of dangerous situations. MacGyver's boss and best buddy was Pete Thornton (Dana Elcar). Pete regularly sends MacGyver on missions and oftentimes comes to his rescue (mostly in the moments after MacGyver has saved himself and someone else). MacGyver is also often accompanied by his airplane pilot friend Jack Dalton (Bruce McGill) who constantly gets himself and MacGyver into compromised predicaments with his illegal activities and hair-brained schemes. Along with the usual bad guys, archenemy Murdoc (Michael Des Barres) is MacGyver's constant nightmare. With something interesting always in the works, there isn't a boring episode of this fascinating series...

The MacGyver (Season 3) DVD features a number of action-packed episodes including the season premiere "Lost Love" in which a woman from MacGyver's past (a woman he once loved) returns to his life. She also happens to be a known Soviet dissident who begs for his help in aiding her escape from the evil regime. But before MacGyver can help, the KGB kidnaps her and demands a priceless artifact as her ransom, leaving MacGyver as the only man who can save her... Other notable episodes from Season 3 include "The Widowmaker" in which MacGyver mourns the death of his friend at the hands of a former enemy, and "Mask of the Wolf" in which Jack and MacGyver aid in the search for an ancient Indian wolf mask while two mercenaries follow their trail...

Below is a list of episodes included on the MacGyver (Season 3) DVD:

Episode 45 (Lost Love: Part 1) Air Date: 09-21-1987 Episode 46 (Lost Love: Part 2) Air Date: 09-28-1987 Episode 47 (Back from the Dead) Air Date: 10-05-1987 Episode 48 (Ghost Ship) Air Date: 10-19-1987 Episode 49 (Fire and Ice) Air Date: 10-26-1987 Episode 50 (GX-1) Air Date: 11-02-1987 Episode 51 (Jack in the Box) Air Date: 11-09-1987 Episode 52 (The Widowmaker) Air Date: 11-16-1987 Episode 53 (Hell Week) Air Date: 11-23-1987 Episode 54 (Blow Out) Air Date: 12-21-1987 Episode 55 (Kill Zone) Air Date: 01-04-1988 Episode 56 (Early Retirement) Air Date: 01-18-1988 Episode 57 (Thin Ice) Air Date: 02-01-1988 Episode 58 (The Odd Triple) Air Date: 02-29-1988 Episode 59 (The Negotiator) Air Date: 03-07-1988 Episode 60 (The Spoilers) Air Date: 03-14-1988 Episode 61 (Mask of the Wolf) Air Date: 03-28-1988 Episode 62 (Rock the Cradle) Air Date: 04-18-1988 Episode 63 (The Endangered) Air Date: 05-02-1988 Episode 64 (Murderer's Sky) Air Date: 05-09-1988 <bio>Britt Gillette is author of The DVD Report (http://thedvdreport.blogspot.com), a blog where you can find more reviews like this one. </bio>

The Yankees are popular to be one of the best baseball teams there is. The team has the most number of championships in baseball history. They have earned thirty-nine American League banners and they also have a total of twenty-six World Series titles.

The team has a rich history before becoming one of the most envied teams in the Major league Baseball. It started when the National League hindered the American League from putting a team in New York. Because of this, the American League opted to establish the team in Baltimore instead. This gave birth to the Baltimore Orioles.

John McGraw was part owner of the Orioles. He was also assisting the Giants at that time and has slowly gained control. He caused conflicts when he started to raid for players, the American League has to look into the matter. In order to settle the issue, a conference with the National League took place. This led to an agreement that allowed the AL to have a team in New York. As a result, the Orioles moved to New York, thus the New York Highlanders emerged. However, the name New York Yankees would pop up from time to time until it became the popular name of the team.

After moving to New York in 1903, the team had several encounter with the AL pennant. However, it was not only in 1921 that they finally earned their first. This also marked their first World Series Appearance where they faced their rival, the New York Giants. The Giants took home the World Series. The same scenario occurred in 1922, again, the Yankees failed to win the World Series. They faced the Giants for the third consecutive time in 1923. This time, they successfully took home the championship. It marked the beginning of their domination.

Many take into account the success of the team to the purchase of one of the greatest baseball players of all time, Babe Ruth. The Boston Red Sox sold him to the Yankees in 1919. The sale has even given birth to one of the most popular sports curses, the curse of the Bambino.

Ruth has helped the Yankees travelled a successful route. Many would say that Babe Ruth is accountable for the building of the Yankee stadium since it was his impressive home runs that draw people to watch the game. Some would call the stadium as the House that Ruth Built.

However, no baseball team is a one-man team. Although Babe Ruth is very talented, his team should get credit as well. The Yankees team gave birth to the Murderer's Row. This was a name given to the strong lineup of the New York Yankees led by Babe Ruth. Many said that their lineup in 1927 was the strongest in baseball history.

After Babe Ruth, several talented players played for the team. Some of them were Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, and Yogi Berra.

The team holds the records for the most number consecutive years of World Series won. This took place in 1949 to 1953.

Most of the greatest players in baseball history played with the team. No wonder why they keep on winning championship titles even after Ruth retired.<bio>Rick Grantham is an expert on sports equipment, specially on New York Yankees Merchandise for more information on Major League Merchandise, visit BooYah Village.</bio>

Ever wondered how police, private investigators, and law enforcement offices uncover the truth about someone? Ever wonder how they finally find that elusive rapist or murderer? It's simple, really. They make use of massive databases, like the ones provided by Net Detective, a professional background and people search system, and online information source.

Here is just some of the information investigators access through Net Detective.

* Check Criminal Records * Check Registered Sex Offenders * Research Your Family History * Find Birth And Death Records. * Find Adoption And DMV Records * Check And Verify Social Security Numbers * Find Unlisted Phone Numbers * Access Hard To Find Addresses * Phone Numbers And E-mail Addresses

Taking such steps is the first leg to finding whomever it is they are seeking.

As for us "regular folks," how can we benefit from a site like Net Detective? Below are some of the powerful features of Net Detective:

* Perform Background checks * Powerful reverse search to find addresses, phone numbers and more * Find e-mail addresses * Get your own FBI file and see what they know about YOU * Locate an old friend, missing relative, or lost love * Check out your daughter's new boyfriend * Protect yourself from Identity Theft * Track down people who owe you money * Find trial transcripts and court records * New data added and accessible on a monthly basis

The Net Detective database includes:

* 217,766,271 U.S. Residents * Over 700,000 Net Detective Members * Instant Online Access From Any Computer

If you're not sure you need Net Detective, ask yourself these questions...

* Wouldn't you like to know if your babysitter had been in trouble with the police? Or if his or her mother or father had a criminal record? * And wouldn't you like to know the same about someone you were interviewing for a job? * Or what if you are meeting someone for business, and know nothing about them? Wouldn't you feel safer if you ran a quick background check on him or her before the first meeting? * If you have just moved home and want to find a new family doctor or dentist, wouldn't you get some extra peace of mind AFTER running a check for malpractice suits or other legal problems? * And imagine being able to run credit checks on business partners, colleagues and even on a friend who asks for a small loan? * Perhaps most disturbing of all, if you have young children, wouldn't you like to know if there are any registered sex offenders living and working in your community?

All the information you need to run these checks and more - is available through Net Detective.

One of the most successful ways to use sites like Net Detective is in the search for missing persons. Every day, in towns and cities all across the US, people go missing. Sometimes they're the victim of crime, but in many cases, they simply drop out of sight on purpose. Usually they're trying to escape some problem or avoid some responsibility.

It used to be expensive to track down a missing person. You had to hire a private detective and pay them by the hour to do a "locate." That is not necessary now.

Today, your search to locate a missing person can be found on your computer. Many public records and business databases are available through the Internet. Anyone with online access and a bit of determination can do the same kind of investigative work themselves that used to be exclusive to private eyes or law enforcement personnel.

Net Detective is a good place to start. <bio>People Search with Net Detective - http://netdetective-site.info/findpeople/net-detective/, a Professional Background and People Search System. </bio>

Well, it's that time of year again. For the seventh year running, this fall season we'll see a new season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation hit our screens.

Since its debut in the fall season of 2000, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has been a major draw for the CBS Network. It became the most watched program on television in the 2002-2003 season, and has since remained in the top 3 most popular shows ever since. As of the sixth season each episode attracted an average of 30 million viewers, and 90 million people have seen the show in the past year.

The sixth season closed with a spectacular two-parter in which Detective Jim Brass was left fighting for life after a hostage negotiation went wrong. When murderer Willie Cutler took a woman hostage in a Vegas hotel room, Brass volunteered to negotiate. However, when things went awry Cutler fired three shots at Brass - and one of the shots breached his bulletproof vest, a bullet lodging in his heart.

After Brass was rushed to hospital in critical condition, CSI Gil Grissom was informed that Brass had nominated him as his medical proxy, which meant that Grissom had to decide whether to allow doctors to perform risky surgery to remove the bullet or - equally dangerous - leave the bullet where it was and risk a stroke. Grissom, believing that Brass would have wanted it, ordered the surgery.

Meanwhile, Brass' estranged daughter Ellie arrived, more interested in how much she'd get from her father's pension scheme than in his well being. Grissom tried to make Ellie understand how much Brass cares for her, but Ellie seemed unwilling to listen. By the time Brass regained consciousness she had left, but Brass' CSI family were still by his side.

The season closed on a surprising note with Grissom finally getting together with Sara Sidle - a story arc that has been several years in the making.

So what does the next season have in store for CSI fans? Well, while the show will no doubt continue with the format that has seen it become one of the most successful shows on TV the main story in the coming season must revolve around the CSIs relationships. With a new romance blooming between Grissom and Sidle it will be interesting to see how these two loners will adapt to the new situation.

On that count, at least, even the stars of the show don't know how it will turn out. Jorja Fox, the actor who plays Sidle, didn't know that she and Grissom were getting together until just a few days before filming, but she believes that this one is for keeps: andquot;These two people, they have a lot in common. They're both really not great with people in many respects, and they're emotionally detached in many respects. If two people like that can kind of find each other, there's something really beautiful in that.andquot;

But it won't just be the relationship between Grissom and Sidle hogging the limelight. As we saw in the penultimate episode of season six Warwick Brown's marriage is on the rocks. After spotting his wife Tina with another man in the Lucky Dragon Casino Warwick confronted her, not realizing that she was planning a surprise party for Warwick's birthday. If Tina walks out on him, will Catherine offer Warwick a shoulder to cry on?

We'll have to wait and see... the story will unfold during the seventh season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation on CBS this fall. <bio>James Shenton is a New York-based entertainment writer.
The murder mystery genre' is alive and well and living at an on-line bookstore just a mouse click away. How is it that this over-utilized method of story-telling has remained so fresh and compelling after well over a hundred years? The answer lies in the basics of writing.

Grab Them Where it Hurts and Their Minds Will Follow

An author must first and foremost always tell a compelling story, involving, to one extent or another, recognizable three-dimensional characters. The fact that the story takes place against an otherwise formulaic backdrop, involving the effort to solve a murder mystery is just icing on the cake.

A reader needs to care about at least one of three people: the person who was murdered; the murderer; or the person searching for the murderer. Unless the reader can identify with at least one of them, the story will generally not coalesce. Reading a book utilizes our time, and in the modern world, that is frequently our most precious resource. The author must have a compelling answer to the question: why should I waste my time reading your novel?

The answer to that question is that the story is about someone the reader will find quite interesting: himself. The reader needs to recognize parts of himself in one or more of the characters. Though he will see them in situations that are different from his every day life, he needs the opportunity to ponder whether he would react the same way under those circumstances?

The Murder Mystery Must be Solvable Only When the Story is Concluding

Readers love to guess at the 'who done it' aspect of a murder mystery. Yet they are generally disappointed if they can figure out the answer too easily, or at least too early in the story.

Life is about obscurity. We never really know the secrets held by the people around us, even our most trusted loved ones. That is what makes murder mysteries so compelling: in truth, our own lives are informed by mysteries that are never solved.

Yet, unlike real life, in the novel everything is explained by its conclusion. Hence, we find comfort in the difference between our real lives and the novel; the satisfaction of finding out the answer. Psychoanalysts have a term for this: repetition compulsion. It is the need to duplicate the essence of an earlier trauma and this time, control the outcome. The reader knows there are secrets being withheld by the author, but unlike in the messy and traumatic chaos of real life, if she reads on to the end, all will be explained.

Those Who Can Teach, Write

Some of the best murder mysteries involve discourses on unrelated esoteric topics. This usually leads the reader to learn some obscure subject matter having nothing to do with the murder itself.

The act of reading involves a commitment to inhabit the mind and feelings of another person. Sometimes, that person's expertise and erudition is an integral part of understanding them. Hence, in the course of reading a murder mystery, one might learn the evolutionary symbiosis between butterflies and orchids; the esoterica of military strategy and tactics of the Civil War; or the protocols for DNA identification of human remains.

Another example is that in my recent novel, Point and Shoot, I discussed the subtle intersection of the internal and external martial arts, using the Okinawan art of Shaolin Kempo Karate and the Chinese art of Tai Chi Chuan as an illustration:

I went to the dressing room and put on a Kung Fu uniform that I always used for Tai Chi Chuan practice: simple, loose black pants and jacket with a white collar. When I taught Kempo, I would wear the black Karate uniform with the rainbow of fighting animal patches and under that, the black belt with six stripes, but for Tai Chi, this understated garb was the uniform of the day. It was a tacit reminder that, although admittedly they were both derived from the same original Chinese Shaolin Temple forms, the two arts had developed in wholly distinct ways. Diverging branches from the same tree.

My practice of Kempo Karate had been merely adequate through my mid-adolescence. I had dutifully memorized the movements and their names, making my way up through the belt rankings. In five years, I had reached brown belt level. However, like so many martial arts students at that rank, I felt discouraged by the fact that I performed the movements so inadequately when compared to the black belts. I had reached technical proficiency, but that was all. There was obviously something more, and I had no idea what that might be.

I shared my misgivings with Grandfather, and he suggested that I learn the basic 24 posture Tai Chi short form and after that, the 108 posture long form. At first, I simply learned the Tai Chi as I would any other Kempo form. In fact, the postures and strikes were very similar to the crane form I knew so well from Kempo Karate. I executed them the same way: with focused force, albeit at a slower pace.

But over time, he painstakingly helped me unlearn everything he had taught me about the Kempo. It was a very Eastern undertaking: a Master taking his disciple back to the beginning to start fresh. This was the man who had taught me to move with blinding speed, now urging me to slow down; who had taught me to strike with devastating, focused power, now urging me to be soft and gentle with those same movements; who had taught me to prevail decisively over my attackers, now urging me to yield to the attack. In short, it was the man who taught me the external aspect of the Kempo, now helping me switch to the internal.

It was the hardest thing I ever learned, mostly because it involved unlearning. But I stuck with it, and eventually, it started to come to me. I began to immerse myself in the river of the Tai Chi form. I began to move with the flow and relaxation I had often read about in the writings of the ancient Chinese masters, but had never understood. And my martial arts practice finally started to blossom.

The Tai Chi enhanced my Kempo Karate into something beyond simple punching and kicking. I began to understand the difference between learning the martial arts and being a martial artist. I had spent so many years memorizing the Kempo combinations and forms with my head, so much time training my hands and feet to execute them, that I had completely neglected to apply the most important part of my body: the heart. I had never connected with the martial arts as a passion, a life enhancing undertaking. Like Grandfather had.

After that, he suggested I re-learn the entire Kempo Karate system from white belt on up. They were the same Kempo combinations and animal forms, but now they felt and looked different. It was like first learning a beautiful poem through translation, and then because you loved it so much, re-learning it in the original tongue. I was finally learning Shaolin Kempo Karate in its original tongue.

I still cannot adequately define what exactly changed. But somehow, I had tied into something deep and eternal. I had developed a balance and centering that extended well beyond my practice of the martial arts. I found myself becoming a different person: less angry, less anxious, more forgiving and embracing of other's failings, their weaknesses. In a word, the internal arts enhanced me.

Conclusion

In essence, a murder mystery should be a story that could stand alone without the murder and without the mystery. The characters should not be tangential to the story, but instead, drive it forward. They should at least have some characteristics with which the reader can identify. In other words, the reader must care enough about these characters to want to stick around and solve the mystery. <bio>G.D. Baum is a graduate of the Sarah Lawrence Writing Program.
Whenever someone asks me what I do for a living and I tell them I'm a private investigator I usually get the same response. "Oh how interesting. I've always wanted to be a private eye, how can I become a private detective."

It's not that easy to answer at a BBQ or cocktail party but in this series of articles I'm going to attempt to outline a step by step guide on "How to become a PI".

We will be focusing our attention on these basic areas.

1. State licensing requirements
2. Education and Training
3. Integrity investigations
4. Getting started tomorrow

First and most important is learning your state licensing requirements. Some states require a test, some don't. Some states require you work a certain number of hours under a licensed private Investigator until you can get licensed yourself but some do not. Some states require a degree in criminal justice, some do not. Most states will require some experience as an investigator before they will issue a license. This is why most private investigators are former police officers but many are not.

Almost every state will do a background investigation to determine if you have a criminal record or outstanding warrant, some states will even look into your credit history and ask for personal and professional references.

Today a licensed private investigator can have access to a variety if personal information such as social security numbers, criminal records checks, locating databases. If a person of suspect character had access to this type of information they could irresponsibly release it to a stalker or potential murderer, or at the very least an identity thief. So that's why it's important for private investigators to be regulated at the sate level.

Each state is different and you can either use goggle to find online state by state licensing requirements for private investigators or contact your sates dept of licensing.

Second is education.

If your state requires a degree in criminal justice you'll need to find a good school or online college. Even if your state does not require a degree your potential employer may. So you'll want to get some kinds of degree or certificate. There are many online schools that offer a Private Investigator certificate. This may not help with your state licensing board but a potential employer will be impressed that you are taking your new career choice seriously by getting some education under your belt.

Third is Integrity Investigations, sometimes also called mystery shopping. These companies will hire inexperienced private investigator trainees to visit local businesses in their area to conduct undercover visits and see if the employees are following the stores corporate policies. Sometimes you'll visit a major dept store and take covert video. Other times you'll dine for free at a restaurant and report back on the quality of food and service. It's very important that you carefully research the companies that are offering mystery shops and integrity investigations. You should NEVER have to pay an up front fee of any kind to a reputable company.

Last is getting started tomorrow. With a little bit of research you can find recourses to lead you to reputable Mystery shopping companies. Apply and they can accept you train you and have you out doing investigations in days. Do some investigation and find out your sates licensing requirements. If no license is required you could be in business in no time. Especially if you have life experience in helping people and problem solving.<bio>Ed Opperman is a Private Investigator and Pres. Of Opperman Investigations Inc.
