Drag racing became a sanctioned sport back in the 1950's, and has remained popular ever since. The World Wide Web gives an excellent, authoritative definition that reads as follows: "Drag racing is a form of auto racing in which cars or motorcycles attempt to complete a fairly short, straight and level course in the shortest amount of time. Drag racing originated in the United States and is still the most popular there. The most common distance is one quarter of a mile, although one eighth of a mile tracks are also popular, especially in the southeastern United States."

While many people believe that drag racing is a popular sport only in the United States, there are numerous other countries where drag racing has quite a fan base. These countries include Canada, South Africa, Mexico, Malta, Australia, Brazil, Japan, New Zealand, Greece, England, the Caribbean, as well as many Scandinavian and European countries. At any given time, there are approximately 325 drag racing strips fully operational worldwide

Drag racing is essentially two cars racing against one another down a straight track to see who can cross the finish line first. Since there are no hair pin turns involved, this may sound like an easy feat, however, the driver must be able to have quick reactions times and be able to handle the car effectively. In addition, the car must be tuned to near perfection and operate well under extreme circumstances.

While many people are content to simply haul their dragster down to the local track every Saturday night and compete for bragging rights and trophies, there are many drag racers that take drag racing seriously and attend sanctioned events to compete for big titles and big money.

In professional drag racing, there are only five main categories, and these include Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Modified, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Bike. In the upper racing divisions, dragsters can reach speeds of up to 330 miles per hour! This means that a car performing at this rate of speed could travel the distance of a quarter mile track in a mere 4.45 seconds. If you have never witnessed this in person, it is an awesome sight to behold.

Drag racing has turned into a multimillion-dollar business; with companies paying for ad space on the racecars, as well as race promoters vying for television and radio time, drag racing is enjoying wide exposure. If you have yet to be exposed to drag racing, grab the family or a few friends and head on down to your closest racetrack! A night of drag racing will afford the entire family a wonderful time, as well as a unique experience. <bio>Read more automotive related articles at: http://www.vehicles-magazine.com </bio>

The difficult thing about this is that because every house buyer is different, each one is looking for something else. But with that being said, there are some basic things that you can look into while buying a house.

The more that you know about the actual buying procedure and what you want the better chance you will have of getting a good deal in the end. And while buying real estate getting a good deal that suits all of your requirements is very important. The first thing to look for while buying a house is assets that fit your price range.

Certainly, everybody wants to move into a multimillion dollar mansion, but for most people this is not possible. You will only want to search for houses that you can really afford. This way you will be able to move ahead when you find something that you like, and you will not get down on yourself by checking out houses that you cannot afford at the time.

In fact, the matter is that buying a house is all about the amount of money you have, as well as how much you can afford to pay on a monthly basis. The other thing to look for whenever buying a house is the features that it has to offer. When you are like most people you have a picture in your mind of what a perfect house looks like. If you are searching you will want to attempt to find houses that suit your necessities as far as features and comforts are concerned.

Perhaps you want to buy a house with a certain number of bedrooms or with a lot of land. Regardless of what you are looking for, while buying a house you should have a thought as to what makes the most sense for you.

Going into this process blindly may cause problems that you are not quite ready to deal with. All in all, there are several things that you should look for while buying a home. The bottom line is that you are not the same as every other buyer, so be certain to have your own list of wants and requirements. When you do this you should be able to buy the house that is perfect for you and your family. <bio>http://realestatearticledirectory.com/ </bio>

The U. S. Dollar Index is an index for currency traders, and it consists of a geometric weighted average of a basket of foreign currencies against the United States Dollar. The U.S. Dollar Index, just like stock indexes, provides a general indication of the value of a basket of securities. In this case the basket holds securities that consist of other major world currencies.

The U.S. Dollar Index has a basket that consists of six foreign currencies. These are the Euro, the Yen, the Cable, the Loonie, the Kronas, and the Francs. The index is made up of six currencies, but it includes seventeen countries. This is because there are twelve members of the European Union, plus Japan, Great Britain, Canada, Sweden, and Switzerland. These seventeen countries may only be a small percentage of the countries in the world, but there are many other currencies that follow the U.S. Dollar Index closely. The index is a great tool for measuring the global strength of the United States Dollar.

The components of the U. S. Dollar Index have a geometric weighted average. This is to factor in the fact that not every country is the same size, so each country is given an appropriate weight when the U.S. Dollar Index is calculated. Euros account for a large portion of the U.S. Dollar Index, more than fifty percent. The other five countries in the basket make up a combined total of forty three percent of the basket, with euros consisting of the other fifty seven percent.

The Federal Reserve uses another kind of dollar index, and this is called the trade-weighted U.S. Dollar Index. This index was created by the Feds to more accurately reflect the value of the dollar against foreign currencies based on the competitiveness of U.S. goods compared to other countries. The biggest difference between these two indexes is the basket of currencies that are used as well as the relative weights of the currencies. The weights are based on annual trade data, and this is why it is called the trade weighted U.S. Dollar Index.

No matter which U.S. Dollar Index you are looking at, these indexes help Forex traders know the value of the United States Dollar, and the global strength as well. Forex traders use these indexes to help them determine the value of a currency when compared to the U.S. Dollar. There are two U.S. Dollar Indexes, and the second one is called trade weighted U.S. Dollar Index. This index is based more on actual trade data, but countries are given weights in this index as well.

Copyright =A9 2007 Joel Teo.
I read a post recently where a real estate agent was posting about whether they should leave the real estate profession. The market had slowed in their area and their income stream had decreased rapidly. They worried that if the market didn't pick up soon, they would have difficulty making mortgage payments. It certainly seemed sensible to me.

What surprised me were the responses the post received. Everyone told them not to give up hope. It was a series of quotes that resembled a stack of hallmark cards, quotes about lights at the end of the tunnel. And while I think the commenters were doing what they thought was best I disagree about the advice they were giving. Remember when you see a light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes it's a train coming to run you over.

Let's consider a few facts. The housing market is going from a period of fast paced growth to a downturn. The amount of business has decreased rapidly. If we all stay in the same business we are quite frankly ignoring the economic realities we are facing. And if as a group we can't see that the economy has changed, how are we fit to give advice to our clients about what they should do.

And yes there are some people that will leave because they thought this was an "easy" business and they discovered the hard way that it's not. But I think at the same time a lot of intelligent hardworking people will leave to find other thriving areas of the economy to work in. Or they will leave to pursue other business plans. And there is nothing wrong with that. Simply stated- that is how capitalism works. When certain sections of the economy weaken and others heat up people move around. If that didn't happen we would all be farmers trying to serve a very, very crowded market making very, very little money. I encourage people with million dollar ideas to pursue them and not feel guilted into not quitting a profession that has a slowing market.

I want to give an example of what I am talking about. I have a friend that grew up on a chicken farm. And for awhile after school he continued to work on a chicken farm. But at some point he saw that the future didn't look so bright for small chicken farms. So he went to business school. Today he is the CEO of a multimillion dollar company with 1000's of employees. So I ask you. Is he a quitter? A loser maybe? Or simply someone who found a better opportunity.

In summary I am not saying there is anything wrong with staying in the profession or leaving it. I am simply saying that leaving an industry with declining total revenues to pursue more lucrative opportunities is not quitting. It's simply the way our economy works. So, we should not guilt those who are thinking of leaving the real estate profession into staying, rather wish them good luck in their next adventure and maybe they will flourish there or maybe they will come back to real estate again some day. <bio>Working with a small company operating in the http://www.escapesomewhere.com Austin Real Estate market.
Currency trading is the largest market on the planet. It is estimated that in excess of US$2 trillion is traded every day. Compare this to the New York Stock Exchange's daily transactions of approximately US$50 billion, and you can see that the magnitude of the currency trading market exceeds all other equity markets in the world combined. The practice of currency trading is also commonly referred to as foreign exchange, Forex, or FX, for short.

All currency has a value relative to other currencies on the planet. Currency trading uses the purchase and sale of large quantities of currency to leverage the shifts in relative value into profit.

What is the FX market?

The FX market is different from other markets in some other key ways that are sure to raise eyebrows. Think that the EUR/USD is going to spiral downward? Feel free to short the pair at will. There is no uptick rule in FX as there is in stocks. There are also no limits on the size of your position (as there are in futures); so, in theory, you could sell $100 billion worth of currency if you had the capital to do it. If your biggest Japanese client, who also happens to golf with Toshihiko Fukui, the Governor of the Bank of Japan, told you on the golf course that BOJ is planning to raise rates at its next meeting, you could go right ahead and buy as much yen as you like. No one will ever prosecute you for insider trading should your bet pay off. There is no such thing as insider trading in FX; in fact, European economic data, such as German employment figures, are often leaked days before they are officially released.

Which currencies are Traded?

Although some retail dealers trade exotic currencies such as the Thai baht or the Czech koruna, the majority trade the seven most liquid currency pairs in the world, which are the four majors:

EUR/USD (euro/dollar) USD/JPY (dollar/Japanese yen) GBP/USD (British pound/dollar) USD/CHF (dollar/Swiss franc)

and the three commodity pairs:

AUD/USD (Australian dollar/dollar) USD/CAD (dollar/Canadian dollar) NZD/USD (New Zealand dollar/dollar)

These currency pairs, along with their various combinations (such as EUR/JPY, GBP/JPY and EUR/GBP) account for more than 95% of all speculative trading in FX. Given the small number of trading instruments - only 18 pairs and crosses are actively traded - the FX market is far more concentrated than the stock market. <bio>Make Money with Currency Trading?
Have you noticed that one of the aisles in your local supermarket or Wal-mart is now reserved for $1 items?

Even though same item, under a different brand name, may be available for a higher price elsewhere in the same store?

If so, you're not alone. Dollar store franchises have been among the fastest-growing segment of the retailing business for nearly a decade, and a report from "Retail Forward' estimated that there were enough US markets into which dollars store franchises had not penetrated that the growth would continue for several more years.

What is of even more concern to traditional retailers is that, as they are bringing sub-$1 off-brand items into their stores, the dollar store franchise owner is now able to get national brands like Crest, Iams, Coca-Cola and Wolfgang Puck, and many a dollar store franchise is now offering a wide selection of frozen foods, dairy products, and breads and pastries.

Growing and Growing

A phenomenon in dollar store franchise ownership is well underway, as AC Nielsen estimates that over 62% of all US households now shop at dollar stores. While their core customer base has been low-income families, as the buying power of the company behind a dollar store franchise increases, so does the variety and quality of it can offer. Form more info see http://www.startfranchisehelp.com/Business_Franchise/ on Business Franchise

More and more middle and upper-middle class families have discovered the value of shopping at a dollar store franchise, making the dollar store franchise one of the most attractive opportunities for someone wanting to start his or her own business.

A dollar store franchise capitalizes on closed out, overproduced, and defectively packaged items which manufacturers are eager to get off their hands without incurring a total loss. So their inventory will change from week to week, but for you as the owner of a dollar store franchise, that can be a big plus--you'll have customers who may not need a specific item but just stop in to see what's new.

A Bright Future

If you are concerned that the dollar store franchise market might have already peaked, consider this: with the rising costs of gasoline, every segment of the retail market will have to raise its prices to cover the increase in transportation expenses. That increase will be a lot less likely to drive away dollar store franchise customers than it will those of the traditional retailers. Why?

Because the dollar store franchise, even if it does have to raise its prices, will still be cheaper than the alternatives. The chances are excellent that it will not only keep its existing customers, it will draw new ones who have finally become fed up with their escalating grocery and household goods bills. <bio>You can also find more info on http://www.startfranchisehelp.com/Franchise_Sale/ on Franchise Sale and http://www.startfranchisehelp.com/Franchise_Restaurant/ on Franchise Restaurant. http://Startfranchisehelp.com is a comprehensive resource to get information about Franchise. </bio>

Silver dollars, which are the first dollar coin issue, were minted since 1794. The United States of America have been minting dollar coins in gold, silver, and base metal varieties. A silver dollar values at one dollar.

The term silver dollar can be misleading. While the metal silver is used, the whole term actually generally refers to any large white metal coin, with a face value of one dollar, issued by the United States of America. Several purists have expressed their concern about and protest against the term, insisting that a dollar should not be called silver unless it really contains some, if not all, of the metal in question. Still, the term silver dollar lives on to pertain to coins with one-dollar values.

Beginning the twentieth century, dollar coins or silver dollars have found a significant decrease in popular acceptance in circulation in the United States of America. Since 1971, there have been many attempts to revive the silver dollars place as legal tender, with suggestions to phase in a coin to replace the one dollar bill, but all have proved futile. Other developed countries, on the other hand, still have denominations of like value exist only in coin. For example, there are the British 50 pence coin, the Canadian loonie and toonie, the 1 and 2 Australian dollar coins, the 50 New Taiwan dollar coin, the 1 and 2 Euro coins, and the 100 and 500 Japanese yen coin, to name a few; the silver dollar values still exist in these countries.

Before dollar coins or silver dollars were born, paper currency was first tried out by a then fledgling United States. However, this form of money did not last long and in 1776, the Continental Congress approved and carried out plans for the production of silver coins to replace the quickly failing Continental, which is what the fledgling country called its paper currency. Unfortunately, silver coins were never actually produced at the time, owing to the Revolutionary War which was taking place. Thomas Jefferson, influenced by the failure of the Continental and the overall distrust in paper currency that was widespread during the period, wrote letters indicating his desire for the United States to mint coins that have similar value with and worth to contemporary foreign coins. Indeed, such is the clamor for coins and silver dollar values.

The United States Mint, officially authorized by the Coinage Act of 1792 to produce dollar coins from silver, produced silver dollar coins from the year 1794 continuously until 1803, when the robust silver dollar production were stopped until 1836. Mint Director David Rittenhouse, distributed the first silver dollars, which were 1,758 all in all, as souvenirs to the dignitaries at that time. Today, coin collectors from around the world highly prized original silver dollars made during the said period, including the Flowing Hair (1794-1795) and the Draped Bust (1795-1804), of which there are two varieties, namely the small eagle (1795-1798) and the heraldic eagle (1798-1804). Some of these silver dollar values are extremely rare and exceptionally valuable, especially because they are the earliest examples of massively circulated coins ever struck by the United States Mint, thus bearing an incomparable mystique for serious coin collectors worldwide.<bio>PART 2 - For part two of this article, head on to Silver Dollar Values where you can also find the best places to Sell Gold Coins.</bio>

One of the most difficult things for newcomers to the forex to wrap their heads around is how to read currency-pair quotes. After all, most of us are used to seeing one price for items-a loaf of bread costs $1.89; a stock sells for $39.50 per share, etc. But in these cases, we are exchanging one currency-U.S. dollars-for physical goods. Buying one currency with another one can be a real headscratcher, but this article will hopefully allay some of your confusion.

How Currencies Are Traded

Currencies are traded in currency pairs. For example, a common currency pair is the U.S. dollar (USD) and the Japanese yen (JPY), expressed as USD/JPY. A quote for this currency pair might look like this: USD/JPY 116.01/05. This indicates a 116.01 bid price (the first number) and a 116.05 ask price (replace the final two digits of the first number with the number appearing after the slash).

The bid price tells you how many units of the counter currency (the currency listed after the slash) you can obtain for one unit of the base currency (the currency listed first). In this example, you could obtain 116.01 Japanese yen for one U.S. dollar. The ask price tells you how many units of the counter currency you need to obtain one unit of the base currency. In this case, the market maker is willing to sell you one U.S. dollar for 116.05 Japanese yen.

If you've been paying attention, you've undoubtedly noticed that the market maker is buying dollars for 116.01 yen, and selling them for 116.05. This "profit" (the difference between the bid and the ask) is called the spread, and is measured in pips. One pip is equal to each decimal-point difference between the bid and ask, so in this case, the spread is four pips.

For another example, let's look at the Euro-U.S. dollar (EUR/USD) currency pair. First, notice that the Euro is listed first. This means that it, not the U.S. dollar, is the base currency. Typically, the U.S. dollar is the base currency, but not when compared to the "Queen's currencies" of the Great Britain pound (GBP), the Australian dollar (AUD), or the New Zealand dollar (NZD), nor when compared to the Euro (EUR).

Common Currency Pairs

There are four "major" currency pairs: EUR/USD, USD/JPY, GBP/USD, and USD/CHF (GCHF = Swiss franc); and three "commodity" pairs: USD/CAD, AUD/USD, and NZD/USD (CAD = Canadian dollar). That's a total of eight currencies, which are a lot easier to follow than the more than 13,000 stocks that are actively traded in the U.S. stock market.

You might have also noticed that the currency pairs above all involve in the U.S. dollar. Any currency pair that does not use the USD as either the base currency or the counter currency is considered a cross currency. An example might be EUR/JPY or GBP/CHF. It's important to note that not all forex brokers deal in all currency pairs, so if you have particular strategies in mind, it's important to make sure your broker deals in the pairs you want to be able to trade. <bio>Anthony Mullen has worked within investment banking and financial services for 21 years and is a regular contributor to http://www.forexmarketfocus.com </bio>

Of all the items man has used as currency, gold has far been the most prominent. It doesn't matter if it is the most valuable, or the rarest. What does matter is that man has chosen this commodity to be a standard as a world yardstick for wealth. As a matter of fact, gold is one of the few metals that is so cherished by so many.

Today it's easy to find the latest price of gold, from the Internet, the financial section in the morning paper, market news on TV, and even as a text message on your cell phone. But it wasn't always like that. For decades the price of an ounce of gold was quite steady - so investors didn't see the value in following the price changes.

But recently, the price gold has been changing, and a lot of interest has kindled for the precious metal. What once was under a hundred dollars in the 1940's is now over 600 dollars. This has brought investors around in great numbers.

The price of gold is linked to how strong the US dollar is. Because of the great increase of gold over the last ten years, many investors believe it is a good time to buy and speculate. But remember that gold is a commodity, and doesn't sit and earn interest like a bond in the bank. Your profit will be based on if the selling price is higher than the price you purchased it for, less any brokerage fees.

So when the price of gold goes up, you should be concerned about the value of the US dollar. This is because gold increases as the value of the dollar goes down. Since we are at the 600 dollar per ounce levels, you can be sure the value of the US dollar is fairly low. This is called a lack of confidence.

Should you invest in gold today? We believe it is a pretty safe bet. Given current world conditions, and the time now before the US elections in 2008, gold will be only increasing in value. <bio>http://www.lxmart.com/ is authored by Dave Jackson who bought gold back in 1985.
In over 30 years, since November 1976, the US dollar and Canadian dollar have not been par until now. As the Canadian economy has been progressing over the years, the US economy seems to have fallen behind with all its turmoil. The war in Iraq has not helped the US economic situation but rather offset the deficit, and in a move to avoid the forecasted economic recession due to the credit crunch, the feds cut interests rates by 0.5 points to 4.75 percent.

The move to cut interest rates to ease the mortgage industry has weakened the US dollar against foreign currency including the Euro, and giving the push for the Canadian dollar to hit parity with the US dollar. One US dollar now buys one Canadian dollar. But the Canadian dollar's gain isn't only linked to the US federal interest rate cut, but can also be seen as the Canadian economy has been booming in an upward gain from 2006 with a low inflation rate, and a red hot oil industry.

This rapid progression of the Canadian dollar against the US comes as a shock to some Canadians, who measured the Canadian dollar value at .62 USD only four years ago in 2002, and now hitting par seems too good to be true.

As Jeff Rubin, chief economist and strategist at CIBC World Markets, stated, "the Canadian economy that once used to be the sleepy little resource backwater of the North American economy is certainly turning the tables on its big brother in a hurry."

So what does all this have to do with Canadian and American dealings with each other? Well, for starts there will be an increase in American exports as buying from the American markets will become cheaper for Canadians. Although, vice versa Canadian exports to America will also decrease, as it will simply cost more for Americans to buy Canadian manufactured goods.

The Canadian tourism industry will also suffer, as more American visitors will decline as the dollar parity discourages Americans from shopping in Canada, since the one time savings of up to 40%, due to the dollar value, will no longer be available to Americans.

Although, Canadians will suffer in sales, they will gain in purchasing from American based businesses, and buying cars from the American side is becoming more attractive to some Canadians. As car prices in Canada are much higher than in America, a lot of Canadian shoppers will find drastic savings by traveling south of the border to buy a car. The difference in prices may not be the greatest for all cars, but gaps in some categories such as luxury sports cars, will save a Canadian buyer almost $14,000 on average.

But the high loony will put pressure on Canadian companies that are dependent on exporting to the US, who is also Canada's largest trading partner. Already, in 2006 there were almost 100,000 job losses in southeastern Ontario, due to the rising Canadian dollar against the US dollar.

Even with such a massive job loss, the Canadian economy is still doing well, as the manufacturing sector loss a total of 289, 000 jobs since 2002, the Canadian economy has created over one million jobs in resources, construction, services, health care, education and financial industries, leaving the national jobless rate at 30-year low.

In contrast the Canadian dollar seems to be stronger over the American for the time being, but only time will tell the future of the American dollar vs. the Canadian. If asked to predict, there is always uncertainty, but given factors such as future interest rate cuts by the Americans, could possibly even lower the US dollar compared to the Canadian, and this could become reality in the next 6-12 months. <bio>This article is provided courtesy of http://www.justwantaquote.com Find Free Mortgage Quotes and Financial Information. </bio>

Get Exposure

If you want to get top dollar from the sale of your home, you are going to need to make sure that your home gets plenty of exposure. The more exposure your home gets, the more people will see it and be interested in viewing it. The more people that are interested in your home, the more offers you are likely to get on your home. You can use flyers, brochures, and even internet marketing to help get the word out about the sale of your home. Even if it does cost you a little money to get exposure, it will definitely help you get a better offer and final price on the sale of your home.

Choose a Fair Price

Yes, you want to get top dollar from the sale of your home, but you want to price it fairly, as well. If you ask a price that is too high, there is a chance that no one will be interested, and a price that is too low will not help you make the money you need to on your home. Asking a reasonable price can attract many buyers and help you get a great deal when you sell your home.

Hire a Great Agent

A great real estate agent is a must if you want to get top dollar from the sale of your home. Check into the agents reputation and make sure that they are truly licensed to sell real estate. Having a bad agent can not only decrease your chances of getting a good offer for your home, but it may actually decrease your chances of selling your home at all. Make sure that the Realtor has a great plan to sell your home and that they are personable and a good negotiator as well. You want to pick an agent that is going to work to get you the best price possible on the sale of your home. <bio>Opinions in this article do not necessarily reflect the view of the http://www.buyersadvantagegroup.net/buyers_support.php which the author would like for you to visit. </bio>

Since its creation in 2002, the "euro" ----a Frankenstein creation that replaced the former currencies of 12 European countries like France, Germany and Italy--- has beaten the socks off the American greenback. Back then, the euro limped out of the gate at a parity with the greenback. It quickly dropped to around 86 cents for every dollar.

That was then. As of November 11, 2007, Veteran's Day here in the U.S., the euro is worth 1.46 American dollars. A single euro now buys 46% more than its American peer.

We've scratched our heads in this column about the decline of the dollar. What's happening now is unprecedented.

The dollar has fallen to a 26-year low against the British pound. It has fallen to a 33-year low against the Canadian dollar.

What has happened to put the dollar in a free fall / Throughout the last century, every American President and every American Treasury Secretary has repeated the mantra that "a strong dollar is American policy". As recently as October 10, two weeks before the G-7 Summit, both the current President and the current Treasury Secretary recited the mantra by heart.

" I feel very strongly that a strong dollar is in our nation's interest," stated Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, formerly Chairman of Goldman Sachs.

What's missing is the "and therefore". In the past, severe drops in dollar values have brought strong corrective actions, a buy back of the dollar in effect to prop up the value. No such cavalry charge is coming in the current climate. In fact, some have suggested that the current U.S. policy is a smug contentment that the decline of the dollar has boosted US exports by about 15%, since our exports are now cheaper for foreigners.

Which leaves all of us to wonder aloud=97what happens if the dollar's free fall continues? Is there any safety net down there?

Don't bet on it. Secretary Paulson ha started adding a caveat to that ol' strong-dollar mantra. "and we believe that currency values should be set in a competitive marketplace based on underlying economic fundamentals."

Those underlying fundamentals are weak now in the U.S. A mortgage market meltdown, coupled with an economy strained by the $576 billion cost of war have all but tapped out the U.S. economy for the time being. We are now in hock. We are the largest debtor nation on earth.

And what happens when we take out some of our retirement in the form of those weakened dollars? A hidden costs of letting the dollar sink is that the buying power of those retirement savings ---once they are converted to dollars =96is getting pretty pitiful. Worsening the situation is that, unlike many citizens of foreign countries, Americans who desire to keep their cash in euros find very few US banks offering that flexibility. Some German banks (Deutsche Bank) and on-line banks (everbank) have begun offering accounts to Americans denominated in other currencies.

Brother, can you spare a euro?

See "The Incredible Shrinking Dollar", www.collectivewizdom.com <bio>Steve Greenfield is a Featured Columnist to http://www.collectivewizdom.com, a reader-created online newspaper featuring articles on health, finance and relationships. </bio>

Paying your loan is like renting equipments.

You see, interest rate is like the rent cost of money. It's like you are employing someone else's money and you have to pay that money salary. In money, the money's salary is often stated in terms of the ratio between money borrowed and how much you have to pay for borrowing such money. That ratio is called interest rate.

For example, if you borrow $10,000 and you have to pay $3,000 per year for not paying that $10,000 then your interest rate is $2,000/$10,000=30%. Simple?

That's assuming that the money you borrow is constant, namely $10,000. If you don't pay your interests, then the $3,000 is added to your loan. So next year, you owe $13,000. Two years from now, you'll owe $16,900. Got it? In Math, few functions increase faster than exponential function, and this is one of it.

If you borrow some money at 30% interest rate from a credit card company and 9.9% interest rate from your mortgage, then you are paying more money for your credit card company for every unpaid dollar loan.

Each dollar from a credit card company costs 30 cents per year, while each dollar from your mortgage costs 9.9 cents per year.

Think of it this way. Say each dollar that you owe is like your employees. Just like your boss paying you your salary for borrowing your time, you pay your creditor for borrowing their money. You should of course, try to fire the higher paid employee first. Why hire money from the credit card company for 30 cents per year if you can hire money from your mortgage company for 9.9 cents per year.

For simplicity's sake, say each dollar from a credit card company is worth the same with each dollar from your mortgage, obviously you want to pay less salary to the credit card company. So you should pay your credit card company first.

If you owe $30,000 from a credit card company and $30,000 from your mortgage, for the same payment, you'll be free of debt cheaper if you pay your credit card company first.

I made a simulation and put the result in a very easy to understand table in http://fasterfinancialfreedom.com.. Then, I translated the whole thing into English for even more sense. About The Author: Jim Thio is a silver medalist in International Physics Olympiad.
Many people ask about Forex market hours thinking that it's like the stock market, which opens and closes each business day. But, that's not how the foreign exchange market works.

The Forex market operates 24 hours a day and is the most liquid market in the world, enabling you to enter and exit your positions nearly at will. Yes, it's that open and flexible.

However, the Forex market is also very risky to trade. There are times during the day and night that offer you some very good movement and consequently some higher risk. In short, knowing the "peak and valley" hours of the foreign exchange is more important than knowing that it's open 24 hours a day.

Studying the various currency pairing and how they trade during various times of the day will help determine which pairing (or pairings) you should concentrate on and at which times offer you more opportunities based on your trading style.

It is advisable at first to concentrate on just one pairing. Trying to watch two, three or more pairings can lead you into making bad decisions. So, to begin, focus on one of the big six (major) pairings, which are:

1. Euro Dollar vs. the US Dollar (EUR/USD)
2. British Pound vs. the US Dollar (GBP/USD)
3. Australian Dollar vs. the US Dollar (AUD/USD)
4. US Dollar vs. the Japanese Yen (USD/JPY)
5. US Dollar vs. the Swiss Franc (USD/CHF)
6. US Dollar vs. the Canadian Dollar (USD/CAD)

Yes, there are opportunities at all times of the day and night to make trades with these pairings. However, the best opportunities you will find are when you have two major markets open at the same time.

That's a $100 tip. If you know these windows of opportunity you can decrease risks and increase your potential profits on the FX market.

Here are the major market times you should be aware of:

* New York -- 8am to 4pm EST
* London -- 2am to 12nn EST
* Great Britain -- 3am to 11am EST
* Tokyo -- 8pm to 4am EST
* Australia -- 7pm to 3am EST

You will notice that there are plenty of times to trade (24 hours a day!) But if you look at that list, you will see that from 8am EST to 12pm EST you have two of the largest financial markets open at the same time: New York and London! These are your golden hours to trade Forex online.

You will also notice that, if you are a night owl, you also have some prime hours from about 2am EST to 4am EST, with London and Tokyo both open.

The best way to see which times will work for you is to first open a demo account with a Forex broker. All reputable Forex brokers will have a free demo account available for you to use. Once you have the account set up, log into the demo account during various times of the day. Watch how the market reacts among the various currency pairings.

Given enough screen time, you will start to learn the various nuances of each currency pair and what times of the day will fit with your schedule and your trading strategy.

And when you are ready to trade a live account with real money on the line, you will be much better prepared to make that first trade in this great market.<bio>Download the Insider's Guide to Forex Trading right now for free.
Forex Trading =96 All about a Forex Quote. The word FOREX is derived from the words "FOReign EXchange. Unlike other financial market in the world, Forex is open 24 hours every day where there is always a major financial center open where banks, dealers, hedge funds, corporations, individual investors and speculators are trading currencies.

The cumulative buy and sell of a currency causes the value of your Forex investment to move either up or down. There are numerous factors that cause the fluctuation of exchange rate. A country's political, social and fundamental economic environment and their central banks fiscal policy, interest rate adjustment are some of the common factors. To have a better understanding how the currency exchange rate can affect the value of your Forex investment, this article will concentrate on the topic of Forex Quote.

Currencies are traded in pairs and each currency has its own symbol. For the Euro dollar- it is EUR, Japanese Yen - it is JPY, for the Pounds Sterling - it is GBP, and for the Swiss Franc - it is CHF. Hence, EUR/USD would be Euro-Dollar pair. GBP/USD would be pounds Sterling-Dollar pair and USD/CHF would be Dollar-Swiss Franc pair and so on and so forth.

You will always see the USD quoted first with few exceptions such as Pounds Sterling, Euro Dollar, Australia Dollar (AUD) and New Zealand Dollar (NZD. The first currency quoted is called the base currency. This is not surprising as the U.S. dollar is regarded as the central currency of the Forex market and is involved in nearly 90% of all Forex transactions.

So how are these currency pairs quoted on the Forex market? You will see two numbers on all Forex quotes. The first number is called the bid and the second is known as the offer (or the ASK) price. Take for instance EURUSD, you will see 1.4625/1.4630. The first quote of 1.4625 is the bid price, the price where traders are prepared to buy Euro against the USD Dollar. The second number 1.4630 is the offer or ask price and it is the price traders are prepared to sell the Euro against the US Dollar. You will notice that there is a difference between the bid and the offer price. This difference is known as the spread. Based on the previous EUR/USD quote, you know that 1 Euro is equal 1.4625 US dollar.

The way profit is measured of a currency is by "pips" or point. PIP is the acronym for price interest point. If the EUR/USD moves from 1.4625 to 1.4655 that is 50 pips. A pip or 0.001 is the last decimal place of a currency quotation with the exception of the Japanese Yen and Yen cross rates. A price movement for the USD/JPY from 111.10 to 111.60 will be 50 pips.

The objective and goal for all Forex Traders are to profit from foreign currency movements. The rewards of trading Forex are immense and the amount of money you can earn can be life changing and ultimately leads you to achieve financial freedom. This requires continuous and adequate understanding and training in Forex education. This education may include understanding technical analysis, chart pattern and formation, trade management such as stop loss and profit target and money management. And if you invest and get the right Forex Trading knowledge, you can enjoy long term currency trading success. <bio>http://www.forexdiscover.com </bio>

Saudi Arabia and the United States have been friends for some time. To the average public within the country most Americans view Saudi Arabia as sponsors of terror citing the countries Muslim background. However, Saudi Arabia regularly supports the United States and has done so again in the last round of OPEC meetings.

Venezuela and Iran wanted to open discussions about valuing oil against a new currency standard then the dollar. They were hoping the move would be symbolic that the world should move away from seeing the United States as a leader and move towards some other supper power like China or the European Union.

The 12 member OPEC dignitaries flew into Riyadh and Saudi police and helicopter blocked roads, and protected the sky with helicopters and the dignitaries made it to their place of residency. The meeting was called to discuss oil exports and the cost of oil. In addition, the meet is to ponder ways of reducing emissions.

A secret broadcast came around which showed that Venezuela and Iran were behind the move to change how oil is priced into another currency. Venezuelan representative Angela's de Morais stated, "The weakness of the dollar is affecting us all" and "But that's a global-scale problem. It's not for an individual organization to tackle." He was referring to Saudis insistence on keeping the American dollar.

Saudi Arabia doesn't want to see the American dollar collapse as much of its economy is based on the American dollar. They have hundreds of billions of dollars invested within the United States and removing the dollar as the oil pricing standard may make it decline further which is likely to hurt Saudi Arabia further.

The dollar has declined significantly over the past few years. This decline is up to 15% against the Euro in the past 12 months alone. As the dollar deflates American buy less products from overseas which hurts our allies and business partners. In addition, the decline in the dollar reduces the value of investments made by foreign countries in the Euro.

When countries purchase American dollars or make investments in American dollars they can find that the dollar is deflating which means they are losing money on their investment. Each dollar is worth less then it was a few years ago and therefore their investments have shrunk. To counter this a number of countries have begun to diversify their holding in foreign currency to more stable currency like the Euro.

The declining value of the dollar is a double-edged sword for the United States. On one end the declining dollar increases American exports because American products become cheaper but on the other end America has less foreign influence because countries aren't selling as many products in the United States.

The current crisis the country has to face is the amount of dissention that a number of disgruntled countries are beginning to show now that their economies are not so tightly tied to the U.S. We may see a growing trend of countries attempting to hurt American interests and business partnerships around the world. <bio>Murad Ali is a three time book author, a human resource professional, a business professor and helps companies/businesses get more visitors at http://www.article-agent.org.
I'm sure you've already heard of Forex trading. it is one of the hottest topics around these days. But what exactly is it and how can the average Joe make money in Forex?

Forex, also called "FX", is short for foreign exchange. The foreign exchange doesn't get the big press like stocks, options, and commodities. But the foreign exchange is the biggest market in the world and it offers investors an incredible opportunity for profit.

When you trade on the foreign exchange, you don't trade in stocks or bonds, but in currency. Simply put, Forex trading is just the buying of one currency and the selling of another. As exchange rates go up and down, you either make or lose money.

With Forex, you're not investing in a single company or even a group of companies. You're investing in the economy of nation. You are betting that the overall economic health of one nation will improve in relation to that of a second nation.

For example, let's say you are analyzing the US Dollar and the Japanese Yen. Your research seems to indicate that the US dollar is undervalued and is due for a rise in price, and at the same time you expect the Japanese Yen to lose value. In this case you would execute a trade to buy US dollars and sell Japanese yen. If you are correct and the exchange rate rises, you make a profit!

So its a piece of cake, right? Well no, not really. Currency prices can be incredibly difficult to forecast because there are so many factors that can contribute to a change in exchange rates. And you must remember that in currency trading you always trade in pairs. You buy one currency and sell another. So you can't just look at one nation's economy; you must look at two.

Of course, you do not have to limit yourself to only one pair of currencies. There are dozens of different currencies to choose from. But if you are just starting out, I suggest sticking to the seven major currencies:

USD - US Dollar EUR - Euro GBP - British Pound JPY - Japanese Yen CHF - Swiss Franc AUD - Australian Dollar CAD - Canadian Dollar

Most small investors concentrate their trading on just these seven currencies. <bio>By Roger Welty For more information, visit my Blog: http://global-forex-trading-review.blogspot.com </bio>

Eating healthy and at the same time contributing in sustainable development, is not a notion that cannot be succeeded with today's vast choices of food consumption. Actually, the people's need to grab something to eat, enjoy every bite and at the same time help the planet, has evolved over the last decade into a multimillion dollar business, as U.S. grocery chains, like that of Whole Food Markets, are offering organically cultivated and fresh products at considerably lower cost than before.

andquot;Greenandquot; convenience foods, which promote themselves as environmentally friendly, are now well-priced and their assortment of fresh or canned products are extremely tasty. Ready to cook pizzas, pesto sauce in glass containers, a variety of handmade pasta and chili, and apple pies are just an example of the choices a consumer has to taste the unexpected thrill of being environmentally conscious and stay within the household grocery budget. These kinds of stores have introduced another type of culinary experience and some carry their own brands that are well-prepared and approved by the FDA. Meals created with the use of organic ingredients that come in recycled packaging, offer to customers the opportunity of spending their income on foods that not only are healthier and tastier, but also environmentally friendly.

The other choice one has is to dine out at andquot;greenandquot; restaurants. Instead of being offered the usual menu choices from their local fast food or nationwide restaurant chain with the typical and most times classic menu, andquot;greenandquot; type of food businesses indulge the visitors to experience another kind of tasty bites, ranging from coffee houses, delis, restaurants and more. These eating establishments are checked out and regularly conserve energy, recycle and generally contribute in protecting our environment.

Finally, if you decide to continue eating at your preferred fast food chain, which you should know is not the best choice you could make if you want to consider yourself environmentally conscious, you should better do your part in protecting our environment. Instead of taking the food with you, sit down and eat it at the fast food premises. This will save another paper bag and you will create as little trash as possible. Do not select the super-size menu choice for two reasons. First for your silhouette and second for the leftovers you will have to throw out later. Say no to the huge portion of napkins you are offered when receiving your order as you will probably will not need to use more than two. If the drink is huge, share it with your friends and instead of using two cups, use two straws. If you want to avoid the straws, then just drink it from the paper cup directly and save the planet from yet another waste. <bio>Kadence Buchanan writes articles for http://yournutritionsource.net/ - In addition, Kadence also writes articles for http://ecookingcentral.com/ and http://4aginginfo.com/ </bio>
