Athlete's foot can be one of the most annoying foot problems that you may encounter. Not only will you develop blisters on your feet, you may also be itching every minute of your sports game or work time.

Athlete's foot is a fungal infection caused by the fungus tinea pedis, which often grows in areas that are moist and warm. And what can be warmer and more moist than your feet especially when inside those rubber shoes?

Athlete's foot is characterized by itching on the feet often in between the toes. People who suffer from this condition will often find redness and tenderness in the affected areas. The skin may also crack not only from scratching but also because of the fungal infection. When not treated, the areas may develop into blisters and the toenails may become yellowed and thick.

Athlete's foot, despite the name, does not only affect sports people. In fact, it is one of the most common foot problems, affecting all kinds of people with different professions. Even office workers can be affected by this problem.

Tinea pedis can often be founding moist places such as poolsides or shower rooms in gyms and spa houses. The fungus can survive for some time in puddles of water, which may be stepped on by people. When these happen, the fungus will adhere to the skin of the foot and voila, you have the start of an athlete's foot.

Of course, you will not be immediately developing the infection. However, if you are not hygienic and your feet are always wet and moist, then there is a great possibility that athlete's foot will develop. You must remember that the fungi that cause the problem loves wet places. So keep those feet dry.

Do not go barefoot. When inside public shower rooms and locker rooms, make sure that you are wearing sandals to protect your feet. Going barefoot will only make your feet vulnerable to fungus that may be lounging in the surrounding areas. Fungi just love warm and wet floors so make sure that you do not give them the opportunity to latch on to your feet when you step on them.

Wear socks and change them often. A good pair of cotton socks can help you a lot in getting rid of and avoiding fungus. Socks absorb the moisture of your feet especially when inside a tight rubber shoes. Make sure though that you change them often. Dirty socks can become a home for fungus so be very careful. <bio>Low Jeremy maintains http://athletes-foot.articlesforreprint.com.
A humidifier is an appliance that every home should have. If you have a humidifier in your home, you have the ability to use it to keep the air in your home moist and healthy. There is a large difference between a dehumidifier and a humidifier, and choosing the right one is important. If you live in an area that has cold, dry winters, or you have your heat on continuously during the winter months, you need a humidifier.

Its important for the air that you breath in to have a bit of moisture in it. Moister in the air can be in different levels. Air that is very moist, or humid, is heavy and sticky. This happens often in many areas of the country that have hot summers and are near water. On the other hand, very dry air happens when you are running the heat continuously or you have a very cold and dry winter. These extremes can cause health conditions. For example, if you live in a very dry area, you can experience pain in your chest, a sore throat and have a dry mouth most of the day.

When the air is at the proper moisture level, your body can readily use that moister to make its daily function better. A humidifier can make that happen. These units will pump water into the air. Some do this with the help of a mister while others will heat the water so that it turns into a vapor, which keeps the air soft and moist.

Humidifiers don't have to be expensive, and you can even make your own. What you should do, though, is to maintain a quality humidifier during the cold months so that you don't have to wake up with that scratchy throat each morning. You'll love being able to enjoy the extra moisture in the air because you will just feel better. <bio>Kerry Rodden is an expert on air purifiers, and has written many articles on air purifiers, fans, vacuum cleaners, air fresheners and a lot more.
Athlete's foot is a fungal infection caused by the fungus called tinea pedis. This fungus often lives and grows in areas that are moist and warm such as the environment inside your footwear.

The fungus tines pedis is actually often contracted in areas that are wet and moist. Gyms, pool sides and locker rooms are some of the places where these fungi hang out. They can survive in wet puddles and adhere to the outer skin layers of the foot that passes by. This is why it is important that you always wear sandals or footwear even on this environment. Walking barefoot can cause so much trouble for you in terms of contracting all kinds of fungi and bacteria.

Athlete's foot will often cause itchiness in the toes particularly in the creases in between the toes. There will also be a lot of redness and scaling in the affected areas. When not treated, the infection can lead to blisters on the skin and yellowed toenails.

Below are some of the things that you can do to prevent your feet from suffering from these really pesky infection.

Dry your feet.

Make sure that your feet is dry before you get into your running shoes. After taking a bath or washing your feet, get a towel and wipe the moisture off. Don't forget to dry the spaces in between those toes.

Air out your shoes

Make it a habit to always air out your rubber shoes after use so that it will be dry inside. This is especially true if you have used it for so long during the day and there is sweat inside.

Wear sandals

When inside locker rooms or when walking by the poolside or anywhere moist, wear sandals. As mentioned above, going barefoot can be a real magnet for all kinds of bacteria and fungi.

Socks is the answer

Wear cotton socks all the time as these help in absorbing much of the sweat and moisture in your feet thereby preventing the growth of the fungi. Don't use those socks again! Change them often. Throw them into the laundry bin after use. A fresh pair of socks can help in preventing athlete's foot from occurring.

Use talc powder

Applying talc powder on your feet after every shower will help dry out the feet. It will also prevent it from sweating too much and becoming an environment that the fungi will love. <bio>Low Jeremy maintains http://athletes-foot.articlesforreprint.com.
Everybody loves leather furniture. There's something about leather that say quality and class. Leather looks especially classy and striking when set against a polished wooden floor. It seems to communicate that the owner of the house really cares about the effect he or she is trying to achieve.

But no matter how good a piece of leather furniture looks when new it will keep its looks only if it is cared for properly. When the leather is new, the material has oils which keep it supple and looking good, giving it that famous sheen. The point of caring for leather is to keep it that way. The best way to do this is simple: keep the leather moist as you would any type of skin.

One way to do this is to clean it with a mild soap. This is especially effective if the soap contains glycerine. This will really help to keep the leather moist and keep the leather very soft. This will also make a leather sofa a joy to sit on.

As you clean the leather, make sure the water is as clean as possible so as to avoid dirt being put back into the leather. In order to reach into difficult areas, use a soft toothbrush.

The main thing to remember is to never use strong detergents when cleaning leather. These really do much more harm than good. And it's always a good idea to never dry your leather with artificial heat, or allow the leather to dry in sunlight. This can cause the leather to become dry and result in cracking.

Once the leather is clean, use a commercially-available leather conditioner to finish the job properly. Do this and your leather furniture will continue to look good for years to come. Bear in mind that different environmental conditions will require more or less cleaning. <bio>David Flinthoff writes for http://leatherfurnitureshow.info </bio>

There is actually no easier treatment for a disease than prevention. This is also true with fungal infections such as athlete's foot. But before you can actually prevent one from happening, you must first know what causes it to happen. Let's first get to know what exactly is an athlete's foot.

People who suffer from athlete's foot will often experience itchiness in the areas in between their toes. This is the area most often affected by the fungus. Of course, itchiness can also reach the backs of the feet as well as the skins of the toes. The infection may also cause redness in the affected areas. The skin will often crack and when not treated, may result in blisters. In some cases, the toe nails may develop a yellowish color.

Athlete's foot as mentioned before, is a fungal infection caused by the organism tinea pedis. This fungus can be found in warm and moist areas such as shower rooms, gyms, spa houses and even by the poolside. They survive and multiply in moist places such as those and adhere to the skins of the feet when they have the chance.

Here are some tips on how to prevent athlete's foot fungi from making your foot their home.

1. Wear a sandals

Don't give the fungus the opportunity to reach your feet and adhere to the skin. When in a public shower room, in gyms, in locker rooms or even in resorts, make sure that you are wearing sandals while inside. Remember that tinea pedis, the fungus that causes athlete's foot can survive in puddles of water, just waiting for some foot to get close so that they can adhere to it.

2. Wear socks.

It may seem a really simple solution but wearing socks can help you a lot when it comes to preventing the occurrence of athlete's foot. A fresh pair of socks can help in the absorption of moisture and sweat in your foot especially when inside a tight rubber shoes. One advice though is to make sure that you don a fresh pair every time. Reusing your socks can only exacerbate the condition or lead to an infection because sweat can be good a breeding ground for the fungus.

3. Dry your feet

After washing your feet, use a towel to wipe the moisture dry before putting on your shoes. Make sure that you wipe dry all the areas of the foot especially the areas in between the toes. It will also help if you can apply a talc powder to help keep the moisture and the sweat at bay during the day. <bio>Low Jeremy maintains http://Athletes-Foot.ArticlesForReprint.com.

Athletes Foot is not, as its name suggest, a condition which solely affects the physically active. Rather, it is a very common condition affecting a whole range of people.

Athlete's foot is a bothersome fungal infection, caused by a variety of surface-skin inhabiting Trichophyton or Epidermophyton fungi that grows and spreads because (and where) the skin on your foot remains warm and moist.

Specifically speaking, Athletes foot is a form of ringworm that lives on your skin and toenails. The itchy (sometimes cracking and peeling) symptoms of this fungal infestation can be caught from a variety of sources, but is most common around areas providing a warm and moist habitat for the fungus - such as public showers or swimming pools. If you do use public showers such as at your local gym or spa, invest in a pair of rubber flip-flops to wear around in the public locker room and shower.

Far and away however, the most common cause of athlete's foot is sweaty feet because the fungi that cause athlete's foot grow well in warm, damp areas.

More moderate flare-ups may cause increased redness and irritation and if left untreated, the fungus can cause the skin to blister and crack and may even spread to other parts of the body.

There are two imidazoles commonly available for the treatment of Athletes Foot; Clotrimazole and Miconazole; which once the fungus is diagnosed, treatment can begin immediately. Also, Monphytol is a rapid drying, non-greasy paint, ideal for the treatment of athlete's foot and other fungal infections of the nail and skin.

Remember Athletes foot doesn't just seek out athletes and other active people. It is a very common condition affecting a whole range of people. Athletes Foot is caused by a fungus that can flourish in warm moist places... just like the ones between your toes.

Prevention is the best defense.

Keep up with good daily hygiene routine of anti-bacterial soap along with keeping your feet dry and ventilated as much as possible greatly reduces your risk.

If your feet do exhibit the itchy sometimes stinging symptoms of athlete's foot, treatment with most over the counter solutions for athlete's foot will halt the spread. However, if the condition continues be sure to check in with your primary care physician. <bio>For more important information on foot pain be sure to visit http://sore-foot-remedies.com where you will find advice and tips on common foot pain causes such as toenail fungus, hammertoe, and other articles that you can view at http://www.sore-foot-remedies.com </bio>

Almost everyone who has every contacted this fungus will tell you the same thing. What is toenail fungus? Well, in short, it is basically a fungi that grows right under your nail plate. The fungus prefers an environment that is moist, dark and warm, which is why it affects the toenails much more often than fingernails. Despite the commonly used term "fungal toenails", onychomycosis describes both fungus and yeast infections in the nail.

Unfortunately toenail fungus is difficult to treat because your feet are warm, in a dark environment and moist. If you work in a hot, humid and dirty environment, toenail fungus will be a common problem.

Remedies There are many highly successful non-surgical treatments for fungus toenails that give long term relief by treating the abnormal infection. To treat toenail fungus apply tea tree oil to all areas of the toenail and toe that are affected by the fungus. Garlic has also been shown over the years to be a great way to fight even the most persistent cases of toenail fungus. Griseofulvin too has been shown to eliminate toenail fungus after continued use for one year. This safe non-toxic all natural formula helps eliminate toenail fungus or fingernal fungus while the nail grows. You can also try soaking your nails in band-aid in oregano oil.

Potassium iodide (SSKI) in combination with DMSO is quite effective in getting rid of toenail fungus. Saprox has not been proven to eliminate toenail fungus but if mixed with DMSO, it just may.

A pedicurist is not a doctor and toenail fungus is a medical condition, so don't even consider that. Some people consider toenail fungus just a cosmetic problem and don't bother seeking treatment. To determine if you have a fungus infection of your toenails you should see a podiatrist who can take a culture of the nails. <bio>A nail fungus can affect the appearance of toenails, making them unsightly.
Handling molds is not that all difficult, you just have to see the points and remember them to not keep them from coming back inside the house and ruining all our stuffs and surroundings.. it has been a troublesome that whenever molds stain any furnishings or clothing, we end up cleaning after it and then messing up the original color and design of furniture or clothe. It saddens us more, what if the mold victimized something that most definitely an important value for us, like a gift from an anniversary or the like..

Certain cleaning products have been commercialized for treatment of molds. Actually, I really don't care much about the brands or how expensive the cleaning product is as long as it answers my need to remove and kill the mold and keep it out and preventing from coming back..

am not selling anything don't worry, I'm only pointing out that if the cleaner or disinfectant actually removed the molds, many have also caused removal of the original picture of the thing.. hmmm.. i guess I don't know what is the best product.. I was just sadden that a favorite top of mine got stained and I used one product and the top is not the same as it should be.. no more molds but I guess, the top.. got also damaged, the color won't come back..

Anyway, it's a good lesson learned.. To be able to not ruin any top of mine again because of mold stain or growth, I better be careful on handling everything.. especially molds penetrating.. I did research and all, found out that molds grow when there is water around, so what I did was making sure after having wet or example did laundry, I definitely would dry the top first, if its raining dry it inside making sure no moist is present, or making sure that the moist won't go as much as 24 hours.. I've also read that molds grow with the span of 48 hours.. tsk3..

Common areas as to where molds grow are the laundry areas, its obvious, we do laundry and we handle water there, the kitchen, kitchen sink, bathroom, because we take a bath.. the roof, ceilings and drywalls are mostly caused of leaked water, maybe from rain or some pipe problem we didn't know of.. It got to my attention that molds not only stain, but also destroys, or damages the things they grow on.. I've read over some where that molds can cause a building to collapse once they have penetrated everything, every wall, and ceiling.. molds really feed on them.. I never though of that before.

And Lastly, molds have affected people.. not just because they are a bothersome, but because they can go inside our lungs, us not knowing it.. mold spores are so small that we can inhale them.. For people who are weak the possibility of death is high.. weak especially in the lungs its because its there where they mostly penetrate.<bio>Discover more about how to get rid of black mold and mildew.
Many people incorrectly believe that TSS only affects women, when in fact it can affect anyone - men, women and children. TSS has occurred in all races, although most cases have been reported from North America and Europe.

What Is Toxic Shock Syndrome? There are actually two different types of this condition. Toxic shock syndrome, which is caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, has been associated with the use of tampons. (TSS was initially linked to a particular brand of tampons, which have since been taken off the market.) Although the exact connection is still not clear, researchers suspect that certain types of high-absorbency tampons provided a moist, warm home where the bacteria could thrive.

Although TSS usually occurs in menstruating women, it can affect anyone who has any type of staph infection, including pneumonia, abscess, skin or wound infection, a blood infection called septicemia, or a bone infection called Osteomyelitis.

A related infection, streptococcal toxic shock syndrome, or STSS, is caused by streptococcus bacteria. Most often STSS appears after streptococcus bacteria have invaded areas of injured skin, such as cuts and scrapes, surgical wounds, and even chickenpox blisters. It almost never follows a simple streptococcus throat infection

Symptoms

Toxic shock syndrome Toxic shock syndrome from staphylococcus starts suddenly with vomiting, high fever (temperature at least 102 degrees Fahrenheit [38.8 degrees Celsius]), a rapid drop in blood pressure (with lightheadedness or fainting), watery diarrhea, headache, sore throat, and muscle aches. Within 24 hours, a sunburn-like rash appears. There also may be bloodshot eyes and an unusual redness under the eyelids or inside the mouth (and vagina in females). After that, broken blood vessels may appear on the skin. Other symptoms may include: confusion or other mental changes; decreased urination; fatigue and weakness; thirst; weak and rapid pulse; pale, cool, moist skin; and rapid breathing.

Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS) Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome can happen following a streptococcus infection in the body, most often a skin infection or an infected wound. Within 48 hours of infection, the person's blood pressure drops dangerously low, and he or she may have fever, dizziness, confusion, difficulty breathing, and a weak and rapid pulse. The skin may be pale, cool, and moist, and there may be a blotchy rash that sometimes peels. The area around an infected wound can become swollen, red, and have areas of severely damaged or dying flesh. The liver and kidneys may begin to fail, and bleeding problems may develop.

If you develop toxic shock syndrome, you'll likely be hospitalized and need antibiotics. Doctors will try to determine the source of the infection. Along with antibiotics, you'll receive supportive care to treat the signs and symptoms of toxic shock syndrome. If your blood pressure begins to drop (hypotension), you'll need medication to stabilize it and fluids to prevent dehydration. The toxins produced by the staph bacteria may result in kidney failure. If your kidneys fail, you may need dialysis. <bio>Can Toxic Shock Syndrome Be Prevented?
When planting a tree you can either buy a tree that has already started growing or you can plant it from seed. Planting from a seed is usually harder and will require more maintenance to get it to grow. However, most people would agree it is a lot more rewarding in the end.

The first thing to remember is that you won't want to plant your tree directly in the ground outside. This is one of the biggest mistakes when planting new plants. By planting directly outside the seed would be subject to the weather, predators (such as birds and squirrels), and bad soil. The best thing to do is to plant your seed in a small pot and repot it as the plant gets bigger. Some of the supplies you will need for planting are:

Seed. You will of course need the seed to plant. Make sure you find a tree that will thrive in your area.

Pots. As the seed grows you will need bigger and bigger pots to transplant it in. If your pot doesn't have any holes on the bottom it's a good idea to drill some so water will be able to drain out of the pot.

Water. You will need to remember to water your tree as it grows and matures.

Sunlight. Find a spot where you can give your tree some daily sunlight without putting it in any harm.

When watering your seed remember to keep it moist but not overly wet. If you keep too much water in the pot you have a chance of "drowning" your seed. Good ways to keep the container moist include a mister system or for a cheaper alternative you can put a piece of plastic over the pot. Remember, if you use plastic you need to put some holes in it for air to get through to the seed. <bio>Get tree seeds and germination instructions on our website http://www.mishobonsai.com/ </bio>

Most people forget about their feet when caring for their body. They figure that if they cannot see their feet that nothing can be wrong. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Taking care of your feet is one of the most important things that you can do as far as caring for your body is concerned. If you neglect your feet you may end up running into some problems down the line.

The first thing to remember is that you should exercise good foot care everyday of the week. When you are in the shower be sure to thoroughly wash your feet, including in between your toes. This can be done with simple soap and water, and will not take more than a minute or so. Why pass up washing your feet in the shower if it is only going to take a minute?

One of the most common problems that you will run into if you neglect to care for your feet is athlete's foot. This is a fungus that can affect the entire foot, as well as the toe nails. Even though the skin between the toes is most commonly affected, athlete's foot can spread to other parts of the foot as well.

In many cases athlete's foot will start out between the toes, and then spread to the toe nails. This in turn makes the toe nails turn yellow and become thick. And if the fungus reaches your toe nails your problem will become more serious. It can be quite difficult and time consuming to get rid of fungus of the toe nails.

The most common way of contracting athlete's foot from somebody else is by walking on moist or wet floors. This type of fungus thrives in a moist environment, and if the floor is not kept clean it can spread rapidly from one person to the next. In addition, athlete's foot is common among people that have moist feet. This can happen during strenuous exercise, hence the name athlete's foot. Sharing personal items such as shoes, socks, and towels can also spread the fungus that causes athlete's foot.

It should also be noted that athlete's foot can be spread to other parts of the body. This is done by scratching the infected area, and then touching other body parts such as the groin and underarm.

If you are suffering from athlete's foot, or fungus of the toe nails, there are treatment options available. They include both over the counter topical solutions, as well as oral medications that can be prescribed by a doctor. If you are having a difficult time controlling the problem on your own, your best option is to let a doctor take a look at the fungus.

With proper care you should be able to avoid foot fungus problems such as athlete's foot. Do not take these conditions lightly; they can be both difficult to get rid of and bothersome. <bio>Fact For Free is a place to find useful facts about everyday things. Dehumidifiers are especially essential for a person suffering from allergies who wants to prevent mold spores from growing in their home, and for keeping humidity low enough to help keep dust mites away.

Active dehumidifiers have almost the same machinery as an air conditioner. While an air conditioner cools on one side and releases heat on the other side, a dehumidifier cools and then re-heats the air.

Basically, a dehumidifier takes moisture out of the house by sucking in moist air, and pushing the dry air out the other side. This dry air then mixes with the moist air, making it a little drier, which in turn is pulled into the unit to become drier over and over again. The moisture collects in a pan and when the pan is full, the unit automatically shuts off. The dehumidifier is controlled by a humidistat which tends to respond to changes in moisture content and is absolutely necessary for efficient energy consumption.

While a dehumidifier can lower humidity levels, the extent to which it can be minimized depends a lot on your prevailing room temperature.

Dehumidifiers are vital for environmental control, especially in areas where humidity can rise above 50% naturally. In places where humidity levels rise above 50% it tends to affect furniture, and causes wood to rot and harbor toxic mold and fungus, which can cause odors and eventual health problems.

If you are not sure whether you actually need a dehumidifier, there are several signs to look out for. Some of them are, condensation on the window, or wet spots on the ceiling tiles or walls. If the room feels stuffy and has a musty odor, or if there is an increase in allergies and allergic reaction amongst family members, a dehumidifier can definitely help.

When choosing one, ensure it is large enough to handle the job. Placement is important as well, and if the unit has an air vent on top it can be placed against the wall. If it lacks an air vent, it should be placed away from any walls or furniture to allow proper circulation.

Your sleep as well as your daily activities can be affected by excess humid conditions in your home. However, the general feeling of discomfort can be alleviated by using a dehumidifier. As always, as with all equipment being used, safety is top priority and should not be compromised. <bio>To read more about dehumidifiers visit http://www.top-dehumidifiers.info/sitemap.html and http://www.dehumidifiers-site.info/sitemap.htm - For further health info visit http://top-health-articles.info </bio>

A humidifier can be a great tool for adding moisture to the air. It can help prevent dryness in the nose, throat, lips, and skin. Many people use a humidifier because they find it easier to breathe when the air is moist. This is a good way to loosen up congestion in the chest as well.

There are several types of humidifiers. The ultrasonic humidifier creates a cool mist from ultrasonic sound vibrations. The impeller produces a cool mist by using a high speed disk that rotates. Most of us are familiar with the evaporative humidifier. This uses a fan to blow air through a material that has been moistened. This can be a wick, filter, or belt. The steam vaporizer heats the water and then cools it before it leaves the humidifier.

Humidifiers come in many sizes to meet the needs of you and your home. Some are electric and need to be plugged in while others don't. Most of them work by pouring water into the container and it will put a moist mist into the air. Electrical humidifiers warm the water before the cool mist is released. For best results use distilled water in all types of humidifiers.

To get the most benefit from your humidifier use one that is designed for your particular need. Make sure you use the correct setting and that you keep it clean. A dirty humidifier can breed mold and microorganisms. Each humidifier will come with cleaning instructions that you need to follow. Some people suffer from respiratory issues when they use a humidifier. Contact your doctor if you do.

It is important to keep humidifiers on a flat surface and way from the reach of children. Injuries can result from a falling humidifier or from water spills. Burns can also result if you have an electric humidifier. <bio>Visit our site for Humidifier Information, including what features your humidifier should have: http://www.humidifierinformation.com/desirable-features.php </bio>

A box or room with constant temperature and humidity, a humidor is used to store cigars and/or pipe tobacco. For individual use, a small humidor box is ideal. Cigar and tobacco shops, on the other hand, require larger spaces that are often designed as walk-in areas that cover an entire floor. All humidors feature a way to keep track of the humidity levels to ensure a constant and perfect housing area.

In order to work effectively, small humidors must be able to maintain their humidity. The best way to test this is to use a moist cloth to wipe the interior clean of any dust or debris. A small glass or container of distilled water should be placed inside the humidor, which should then be closed, and left overnight. If the water is almost or completely gone, this step should be repeated for another 24 hours. Once the humidor has stopped absorbing humidity, the cigars can be placed inside. This is very important as humidity will keep the interior of the wooden box moist, which will also keep the cigars properly moistened.

When using humidors for individual use, it is important to keep the humidity level at 65-70% when the box is filled completely. If there is too much empty space inside of the humidor, it will loose it's humidity quicker and may cause less moisture if not properly maintained. For various reasons, most humidors are crafted using Spanish cedar or plastic. Spanish cedar, in particular, is excellent for aging cigars because it has the ability to retain more moisture than most woods and is able to maintain humidity. In addition, this type of wood often repels tobacco beetles, which can ruin the cigars altogether. There have been occasions, however, where beetles have eaten through the wood. When it comes to storing cigars, however, it is best to use every possible method to protect and maintain their quality.

If you are searching for humidors, you may be able to find one in your local retail or specialty tobacco store. If you are in the market for an antique humidor, consider checking out the local flea market, antique show or local antique shop. Depending on how they have been cared for, their current condition and quality, antique humidors can be highly collectible. This is why antique shows are a popular location for scouting a great deal on an older unit. Most antique shows occur once or twice each year, but specialty antique shops are open daily throughout the year. <bio>The author is a regular contributor to http://www.buy-humidor.com where more information about http://www.buy-humidor.com/sitemap.html is available. </bio>

We are very conscious about taking care of our health. When we notice that any part of our body has a disease we will pay a visit to the doctor to cure the problem. Unfortunately the only part of our bodies that we sometimes forget to check for health problems is our feet. For this reason any foot aliment that occurs will receive treatment sometime after the problem has arisen. This is also true of Athlete's foot.

Athlete's foot is a fungal infection that is caused by the foot being encased in shoes and socks the entire day. The darkness and warmth of the covered feet cause the foot to become moist. It is this environment that lets Athlete's foot breed between the areas of the toes.

Generally Athlete's foot occurs in the areas around locker rooms, swimming pools and showers where the atmosphere especially on the ground is warm and damp. Athlete's foot is a contagious disease. For this reason walking around areas like those mentioned above can leave you vulnerable to the infection.

The way you can identify if you have Athlete's foot is by the symptoms which are dry skin, scaling, inflammation, itching and blisters. At any time that your feet have blisters you should take care as the blisters may break. When these blisters break open small areas of raw tissue are exposed. This exposure leads to lots of pain and swelling of the foot area around the Athlete's foot infection. Should the Athlete's foot infection spread you will feel an increased amount of burning and itching in those infected areas.

As Athlete's foot is highly infectious it can be transmitted to other parts of your body. This will happen when you scratch the infected area and then touch other parts of your body with that hand. The most commonly infected areas are the soles of the feet, toenails, groin and the underarms. It can also be spread by contaminated clothing or bed sheets.

As Athlete's foot can last for quite a long time you should see about getting treatment for this condition as early as you can. The treatments that are used for Athlete's foot are usually fungicidal and fungistatic chemicals, also topical or oral antifungal medications. Generally these treatments work to cure the existing Athlete's foot and prevent a reoccurrence of Athlete's foot.

There are some things that you can do to make sure that you do not fall prey to Athlete's foot. You should try and avoid walking barefoot in areas where Athlete's foot may be breeding. The foot area should be thoroughly washed and dried to prevent moisture buildup. An application of talcum powder will help to make your foot dry. You might want to wear shoes that are light and airy or open-toed. The best way to stop Athlete's foot from occurring is to prevent it in the first place. <bio> http://www.herbalremedieslk.com/home_remedies.html , http://www.herbalremedieslk.com/home_remedies.html , http://www.myanxietyguide.com </bio>

In an ever-changing world where physical beauty greatly matters, it is only natural for people to strive hard in maintaining their natural beauty. But since not everyone is endowed with perfectly-shaped eyes, nose, brows, and lips along with flawless complexion and lustrous hair, it is only a must that people find ways to somehow make-up for their shortcomings by finding solutions to their problems.

One of the common problems of people with regards to skin diseases is athlete's foot. Characterized by reddish, crackled, flaky skin between toes, dermatologists say that a fungus that usually thrives in warm and moist places causes athlete's foot.

Like any other skin problems, athlete's foot is known to be highly contagious especially by skin contact. In order to avoid it, experts advise people to stay away from places infected skin particles maybe be present.

If you're already suffering from it, don't fret because you can still cure athlete's foot by trying the remedies suggested below.

POPULAR ATHLETE'S FOOT REMEDIES

The most common remedy for this contagious skin disease is by using traditional powders or athlete's foot creams available in various pharmacies. Traditional treatments usually include over-the-counter medications that are known to treat athlete's foot by weakening it.

The most popular OTC athlete's foot medication today is Terbinafine ointment--a prescription drug sold as Lamisil--which obliterates the fungus. After the application of the ointment, the success of the treatment will depend on the patient's resistance to fungus and immune system.

Aside from taking in or application of medication, athlete's foot can be remedied by proper hygiene like keeping the feet dry all the time. Since the athlete's foot causing fungus thrives in moist areas, keeping your feet dry will lessen the possibility of spreading to other areas of the feet.

Also, make sure that you scrape away the loose skin before applying the medication in the infected area after drying your feet. Other remedies include:

- Putting medicated powder or baking soda in the shoes and socks before you wear them.

- Wearing cotton absorbent socks washed in hot water with bleach.

- Keeping the shoes well ventilated before using them again.

- Using open-toed sandals to keep feet dry as possible.

- Wiping of white vinegar or spraying a disinfectant inside of the shoes to avoid re-infection.

- Applying antiperspirants to keep the feet from sweating.

- Drying the feet thoroughly using hair dryer or a clean towel.

- Spraying of diluted rubbing alcohol after showering can keep the feet dry.

- Applying of aloe vera or aloe gel at least twice a day.

- Soaking feet in a 50/50 mixture of apple cider vinegar and water for 10 --15 minutes daily. This will relieve itching because of the antifungal properties of the apple cider vinegar.

- Rubbing a clove of raw garlic on the feet to kill the fungus. <bio>Low Jeremy maintains http://Athletes-Foot.ArticlesForReprint.com.
