There are more than two hundred million web mail users that name Hotmail as their web mail server of choice. To be sure, Hotmail is one of the top three cost-free web-based e-mail providers on the World Wide Web. This free, web based e-mail is offered to users by Microsoft and it allows users up to two hundred and fifty megabytes of space to store e-mails and files.

There are a lot of people who love Hotmail because it makes for an easy place to store their junk mail and this makes it easy for spam artists or other people to hack into the hotmail account and then send e-mail to others with it. Have you recently been on the receiving end of unwanted e-mail from a hotmail e-mail address? If so, have you thought about doing a reverse e-mail search?

A reverse e-mail search is easiest when you use the service that provides the e-mail address that sends you the unwanted e-mail. Luckily the Hotmail reverse e-mail search is free for internet users and it is very easy to use. The easiest way to locate a Hotmail reverse e-mail search, all that you need to do is type in the phrase "hotmail reverse e-mail search" into any of the major search engines. The site that does the searches will be listed in your search engine results.

Keep the e-mail address that has been sending you the unwanted e-mails near by because you will need this to complete the search. This might seem obvious, but you would be surprised to find out just how many people forget to write down the e-mail address that they want to look up! It is important also, to remember that you might not always be able to find the information you have been seeking. While it is possible that a real person has been sending you that unwanted e-mail, it is also equally possible that the e-mail address has been hijacked by a spam bot and you might not ever know who has been flooding your inbox.

The Hotmail reverse e-mail search is a trustworthy method of searching for the information associated with any hotmail e-mail address. If it is possible to find out the information you want to know, the Hotmail reverse e-mail search should be able to turn it up.
Spam is an unnecessary evil that bugs anyone with a computer. Yet there are many ways available today by which you can avoid being "bugged" by spam, which has the potential to completely destroy your data and your computer. The oft-used methods are filters, blockers and other programs which almost all e mail service provider can offer. You may now go for another very innovative way to avoid spam. It is called "disposable e mails".

The basic methodology by which these disposable e mail addresses work, is that after it receives a certain amount of spam messages, it automatically destructs itself. It might set you wondering whether this means that you have to keep on changing your e mail addresses all the time. This is where the disposable e mail address add value. After you opt for a disposable e mail address, you are given one with a specific user name. your address depends on the user name.

You will then give your e mail service provider some keywords, which enables the provider to send you mails only from those sources you approve of. These keywords are based on their names or whatever you choose. So when you give your e mail address to someone from whom you like to receive mails, it will contain those keywords in the address, so as to allow them to enter your inbox. All other mails reach your other e mail address which goes through constant change for you to view them. If you ignore them for some time, they get automatically deleted.

This unique e mail , though keeps on changing, you can access it through your user name and password. By using this tool, you can always ignore the spams and not worry about them again. Of all the methods available, which wages a war against spam, this happens to be my favorite. This service of course dos not come free but it costs the same amount of money s you would be spending for your paid e mail services from the ISP. Since it saves you the worry of constantly worrying whether your computer is gong to crash because of spam, and you don't have to spend endless hours sifting through the junk mail, I feel this is a cost worth incurring. <bio>Jeff Clark is a staff writer at http://www.technology-digest.com and is an occasional contributor to several other websites, including http://www.gamesenthusiast.com. </bio>

One of the biggest turnoffs is a website without contact information. Your customers must be able to reach you. There are many ways customers can contact you. You could display your phone number, your e-mail address, your mailing address, your instant messaging ID, your fax number, etc. Of course, that doesn't mean that you have two lists every one of them. There are some very successful online businesses that do not list their phone numbers. Whatever form of contact you prefer is fine as long as it satisfies your customers.

You may have the type of business that demands phone contact, and it is unlikely to satisfy your customers to simply list your e-mail address as a form of contact. If your customers are technologically savvy people, they may prefer to contact you through e-mail. You may be in a business that caters to an older clientele, and you may not be able to get away with e-mail support. The form of contact options you list on your web site has to work for you customers. Frankly, the more options you give your customers to contact you to better.

Even if you have a home-based business it is important to list your address. It is understandable if you don't want to list your home address but there are other ways around that. You can get a PO box very inexpensively and you can make it look like the real address. All you need to do is list the physical address of the post office and use your P.O. Box number as a suite number. No one will know that the address actually is a PO box number. It is simply good form to have your address available on the web site.

Not only that you should have your contact information available online, it should be easy to find. If your listing your phone number on your website don't hide it. If you don't want people to call don't list your phone number. But if you do lists the number make sure it's easy to find. If you offer a toll-free number is best to list it on your home page. <bio>Author: George Meszaros with Webene http://www.webene.com </bio>

AOL is one of the oldest and most recognized internet service providers and while many people have stopped using their connection portals, millions of people still use the AOL mail services. Even better, AOL now offers free, web based e-mail services. Many people prefer web based e-mails because they can take them along whenever they change their internet providers. The AOL web mail offers plenty of services along with web mail so it makes sense that it is one of the leading web mail providers.

Of course, because web mail is so popular and because there are people who like to change e-mail addresses often and create addresses specifically for newsletter subscriptions, junk mail, etc, there are a lot of AOL e-mail accounts that get hijacked by spammers and people who like to send "anonymous" e-mails to others. The good news is this: if you have been getting unwanted e-mail from an AOL web mail address, it is possible to do a reverse e-mail search and find out who has been sending you the unwanted e-mail and make them stop.

Your first line of defense when it comes to unwanted e-mail is the reverse e-mail search provided by the web mail provider. If the e-mail is coming from an AOL web mail address, use the reverse e-mail search option provided by America Online itself. Using the web mail provider's reverse e-mail search tool should always be your first stop because it will be the easiest method in finding out who has been sending you the unwanted e-mail and/or spam. This is because it is easier for AOL to check its own records than it is for an outside source to try to check those records for you.

Of course, if the reverse e-mail search provided by AOL isn't successful, there are other options that are available to you. There are many different reverse e-mail search services available on the internet and you should try as many as you can to get the results that you need. If none of the internet based reverse e-mail searches work out, and the unwanted e-mail has become a real problem, you might want to consider hiring a professional search service to find out who, exactly has been sending you the e-mail. In some cases a professional search service is the best way to go because there are many people, spammers especially, will take many steps to make sure that their identities and contact information remain hidden.

Remember that you need to be taking steps to protect your own AOL e-mail account as well. Make sure that your password isn't obvious and that it is hard to crack. Change it often so that you can reduce the risk of having your AOL web mail account being hijacked by spammers or people who would send unwanted e-mail to other people.

Your tenacity will also play a big role in whether or not you see success with your reverse e-mail search. The more thorough your search, the more likely you will be to discover the identity of the e-mail address owner.<bio>Ed Opperman invites you to visit his cyber investigation website for all of your email search needs.
GMX web based e-mail is considered by many to be one of the best free web based e-mail services on the World Wide Web. It hasn't gotten as much press as the "big three" (Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail) but it still boasts plenty of users and was given a four star rating by About.com. GMX offers five gigabytes of online storage and compatibility with a desktop e-mail program like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird.

Everyone knows the benefits of using a web based e-mail service. Most of these services are free of charge (or very inexpensive) and are far more convenient than the e-mail addresses that will be supplied to you by your internet provider. This is because, in this day and age, people appreciate the ability to check their e-mail from any internet service and on any computer. Web based e-mail offers people that option.

Of course web based e-mail isn't without its faults. Because people create more e-mail addresses than they actually use, there are a lot of "dead" e-mail boxes out there that get taken over by spammers and hijackers. Others will create an e-mail account with GMX or one of the other web mail services with the intent of sending "anonymous" e-mail to someone else.

If you have been receiving unwanted e-mail from a GMX e-mail address there are several steps you can take:

1. Find out if GMX provides a reverse e-mail search service and then use it to find out who has opened the GMX account from which your unwanted e-mail has been sent. This should always be your first step because GMX will have an easier time searching its own records than an outside search engine will have in getting access to the records' information.

2. Do a search with any of the major search engines to find web-based reverse e-mail searches. There are a large number of companies out there that offer this service. It might take a few (or many) tries to get the information you want but if you keep trying you will increase the odds of finding out who has been sending you the unwanted e-mail that has been polluting your inbox. Don't give up--the longer you search, the better your chances become of finding out what you want to know.

3. If the unwanted e-mail has been especially malicious, you might want to consider hiring a professional to contact GMX and find out who is on the other end of the e-mail address that has been harassing you. A professional will know how to get GMX to turn over the information that you need. You should also consider contacting GMX's support team yourself to report the malicious e-mail. GMX might be able to suspend the account or help you take legal action against the e-mail sender.

When it comes to doing reverse e-mail searches, whether you need to find the owner of a GMX e-mail account or a different web based e-mail address the key is to keep at it. Don't give up; you'll find what you are looking for!<bio>Ed Opperman invites you to visit his cyber investigation website for all of your email search needs. I decided I that I would build 1 website to manage the orders as the central ordering point for all of my transactions.

In doing this I needed to purchase another domain so I went off on my search. During this search its where I had stumbled across ...info domain names and I was surprised that they only cost $3 from Name Cheap.

Not only are these domains cheap but there are also a few good dictionary names available for the .info extension.

Domain names have 2 great uses. The first use is if you want to setup a website and e-mail account.

The second use is to set up your own custom e-mail address without setting up a website in which is becoming a popular option for many people today.

Both options require your domain name DNS to be configured to your webhosting account DNS and you can do this easily via your Name Cheap account.

You might be thinking why would I want to create my own custom email address?

Lets say you have an issue with your ISP and you need to get a new ISP provider.
There are more and more home businesses and small companies that are competing for customers. Today the advertising market is much different than it has been in the past because of the number of products that are sold through the internet. Today one of the driving forces behind advertising is getting good address lists. These lists have become very sought after and depending on your needs, very expensive.

The expense comes in if you are purchasing address lists with special criteria attached to them. The address lists can contain e-mail addresses, postal addresses or both. The address lists that contain e-mail addresses that are not with Hot Mail or Yahoo tend to be more expensive. The reason for this is that Hot Mail and Yahoo block so many emails coming into their subscribers. The American lists have also gotten more expensive due to the anti-spam laws. The people on the email address lists have in some way opt-ed onto the lists by purchasing something or placing their address on a form.

Address lists have been around for many years, long before the internet was established. The early lists were used by telemarketers as well as door to door sales men. Years ago the door to door sales men would exchange the names and addresses of customers that they had with other salesman. This way they would have a place to start when going into a different territory. Today the development of the address lists is much more sophisticated. The lists are categorized by the person's interests, spending habits, what websites they have visited, what purchases that have been made and many other criteria. There are times when people know that they are adding their names to address lists. Examples would be requesting additional information from a website or about a product. There are other times when you have no idea that you are placing your personal information on a contact list. The most common way of doing this is asking a person to sign up for a raffle. Whether people are signing up on the internet or at a booth at the local fair, no one thinks twice about placing their name, address telephone number and e-mail address on a raffle or sweepstakes entry. This information is then placed on an address list and sold.

If you are in business and are interested in purchasing address lists go with a reputable company. Ask other's in the business where they go for their lists. Remember if you are being offered hundreds of names and addresses the lists are most likely very general. You also have to be careful with the large lists that you do not get accused of spamming people. <bio>Mark Maya is a the owner of http://news-technology.com and a contributing writer for http://news-event-tips.com </bio>

Now it is free to anyone who wishes to use it and it has become one of the most popular free web based e-mail services on the internet. This is due largely to its large storage space and extra features like POP3 access and chat. Of course, Gmail is also very susceptible to spammers and, like other web based e-mail services, is popular among those who use e-mail to send unmerited messages to others.

If you have been receiving unwanted e-mail from a Gmail address, there are steps that you can take to find out who has been sending you the e-mail and get them to stop.

Your first step should be to use the reverse e-mail search offered by Gmail itself. This is because it is easier for Gmail to search its own e-mail records than it is to get them to reveal information to an outside source. If you are a Gmail account holder yourself you might also have more leverage than you would as an "outside" e-mail account holder. Try using Gmail's reverse e-mail lookup system to see what kind of information you can uncover about the identity associated with the e-mail address that has been sending you unwanted e-mail.

If you don't have much (or any) luck with the Gmail reverse e-mail search system, there are a lot of independent reverse e-mail search systems on the World Wide Web. A simple search with any of the major search engines will turn up plenty of different search systems in which you can look up the identity that has been assigned to the e-mail address that keeps turning up in your e-mail inbox. The key in this search is to be tenacious. Do not give up if you don't find out who has been sending you unwanted e-mail with your first reverse e-mail search. One search service might have an easier time of accessing Gmail's records than others.

If the e-mails feel particularly malicious or if they are coming in extremely large quantities, you might consider hiring a professional to run a reverse e-mail search for you. Professionals usually have the legal system on their side and they will be able to contact Gmail directly to and get their help in identifying who has been e-mail stalking you. You might also contact Gmail's support team directly and let them know that you have been getting unwanted e-mails from a Gmail address and they might take care of everything for you.

Make sure that you are also taking steps to keep your own Gmail account from being hacked or hijacked and used for spam. Choose a difficult password that involves letters and numbers and change it often. When your password is easy or if it stays the same for a long time, you increase your risk of spammers getting in and using your account without your knowledge. This way nobody will need to do a reverse e-mail search to find out who you are!<bio>Ed Opperman invites you to visit his cyber investigation website for all of your email search needs.
AIM web based e-mail is considered by many to be one of the best free web based e-mail services on the World Wide Web. It hasn't gotten as much press as the "big three" (Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail) but it still boasts plenty of users and was given a high rating by About.com. AIM unlimited online mail storage plus POP and IMAP access.

Everyone knows the benefits of using a web based e-mail service. Most of these services are free of charge, anonymous and are far more convenient than the e-mail addresses that will be supplied to you by your Internet provider. This is because, in this day and age, people appreciate the ability to check their e-mail from any Internet service and on any computer. Web based e-mail offers people that option. But these are also options that a cyber stalker would find attractive when trying to conceal his true identity from his victims.
These online stalkers will create an e-mail account with AIM or one of the other web mail services with the intent of sending harassing "anonymous" e-mail or Instant Massages (IMs) to someone else.

If you have been receiving unwanted e-mail or IMs from an AIM e-mail address there are several steps you can take:

1. Find out if AIM provides a reverse e-mail search service and then use it to find out who has opened the AIM account from which your unwanted e-mail has been sent. This should always be your first step because AIM will have an easier time searching its own records than an outside search engine will have in getting access to the records' information.

2. Do a search with any of the major search engines to find web-based reverse e-mail searches. There are a large number of companies out there that offer this service. It might take a few (or many) tries to get the information you want but if you keep trying you will increase the odds of finding out who has been sending you the unwanted e-mail that has been polluting your in box. Don't give up--the longer you search, the better your chances become of finding out what you want to know.

3. If the unwanted e-mail has been especially malicious, you might want to consider hiring a professional to find out who is on the other end of the e-mail address that has been harassing you. A professional will know how to get the information that you need. You should also consider contacting AIM's support team yourself to report the malicious e-mail. AIM might be able to suspend the account or help you take legal action against the e-mail sender. But keep in mind that if AIM closes the account it will make it much harder for an investigator to trace the AIM email and identify the sender.

When it comes to doing reverse e-mail searches, whether you need to find the owner of a AIM e-mail account or a different web based e-mail address the key is to keep at it. Don't give up; you'll find what you are looking for! If you think it's too complicated you can always retain a professional that specializes in email tracing.<bio>Ed Opperman invites you to visit his cyber investigation website for all of your email search needs.
Studies have shown that the average person receives about 40 e-mails a day. I know mine are at least twice that amount.

When you are running your home-based business time management is important. Often you are the CEO and clerk. You do it all.

One of the most important tools and time waster in your business is e-mail. We all need it we all use it. The trick is to keep e-mail from over running your time.

What to do?

I have set up different e-mail accounts for different needs. I have one that is only for non-business related items. This e-mail address is the one that I give friends and family members to use. I know what they send me is not going to be time sensitive. I f something important happens or needs immediate attention they will call on the phone.

I also have an e-mail account for work related items. This one I use for an overall catchall for my business. I will also set up special e-mail account for specific projects that I'm working on. That way I know what they are responding to and for. What reason. I have an account that I use when I respond to special offers or e-newsletters. This way I keep e-mail separated and more manageable.

Use "Preferences" to manage each account.

Now put technology to work for you. Go into the "preferences" or "set-up" for each account. And apply the "junk-mail" settings and other filters that will help cut down on unnecessary e-mail. Check out all the tools, many can make managing your account easer. One more trick is to turn off any audio notification that you have new mail. It is just a distraction that will make you want to check it now.

Time management for e-mail.

One way I make the best of my time is to devote specific times and amounts of time to read and respond to e-mails.

I divide the workday into three times to address my e-mail. I will check it first in the morning when I start my day.

Then midday and then at the end of my workday, I will look at it again.

I devote fifteen minutes to a half hour to each time. I stay on schedule; if I don't it will just through off my other tasks that need to be done.

My 3 "Ds" To decision making.

Delete it: You know within three seconds if you need to respond to e-mail. Don't linger over it Delete It.

Do it now: If you need to respond to it, do it right away. Don't wait that just puts the work off and you may not get back to it until it's too late.

Defer it: If the task takes to long to address it right away defer it. A good way is to use a folder within your e-mail account. You must remember to schedule time to address that folder.

Managing your work time is an important tool in living your Hundred-Fold-Life. <bio>Douglas Miller is a retired Fire Service Captain now making a living working at home.
I'm sure the answer you have to this question is probably yes. You feel like your home mail box has been invaded on a daily basis with lots of unwanted mail you just can't seem to stop! It just keeps piling up in your mail box.

You say to yourself, I've been able to stop lots of the junk mail coming to my email address because of the anti-spam policy on the internet, but, that does not affect the mail coming to my home. It's almost like the junk mail you were getting on the internet is now coming to your home mailbox. And lets not forget that if you've placed your telephone number on the do not call list, that this may have upset some of the companies that are trying to market to you. So, it appears that the new tactic of the current day is to pile it on in your home mailbox.

Do you find yourself going through tons of mail on a weekly basis and using your shredder like your life depended on it? What about when you're looking to find your important mail and you're having to carefully sift through the junk mail so you don't accidentally trash that check you've been waiting for! Doesn't that irritate you that your mailbox is being invaded with advertising mailers that you haven't asked for? You even try to call your post office to find out what you can do. You find out there's really nothing you can do but accept all of the junk mail that piles up in your mailbox until you sort through it!

And by the way, if you plan on going on vacation or out of town for more than a week, you better make sure you either contact the post office to hold your mail or have a humongous mailbox to hold all of the mail you'll be receiving while you're gone. You probably already know that the majority of the mail you'll have when you come back from vacation, is mail from advertisers that you probably don't want.

What can I do to reduce or eliminate the amount of junk mail I am receiving in my home mailbox? Well, there are a few things you can do to reduce the amount of junk mail you receive at home. Just keep in mind that you'll probably receive some junk mail, but, not as much as you have been. You may want to consider doing the following:

1) Send a letter to the following company to request that your name and address listed on all mailing lists and databases be removed: Direct Marketing, P.O. Box 643, Carmel, NY. 10512-0643. This should stop some of the advertising mailers you receive for at least five years. After that, you'll probably want to send them another letter requesting the same as you have before.

2) Consider sending letters to the advertisers directly which are sending you the mailings and request to have your name and address removed from their mailing lists. The members of your household may want to do this as well if they are receiving unwanted mail.

This information should assist you with reducing the amount of unwanted mail you receive in your mailbox. Hopefully, you'll eventually be able to go to your mailbox and actually get to the real mail that you've been waiting for, without having to sift through tons of mail that you don't want. You'll be happier when you can do this.
The peel and stick address label has eliminated the use of customary labels. Handwritten ones are no longer a trend and its simple yet; strenuous task of manually incorporating personal information is now changed to printable peel and stick address label.

It is already of human nature to communicate through mails. Whether it is for business or personal correspondence, the use of mailings is an individual's way of people interaction and long distance communication. Letters are sent from all over the world each day and all of these served different kinds of purposes from legal settlements, banking transactions, business to personal epistles. With these, the existence of address label makes the concept of sending mails easier and secured as you become confident you're your mail recipients will be reached. The return address will also provide pertinent information to postal offices if any cases of unavailability on the part of the receiver transpire. Through this, you will avoid mulling over if your mail reached the addressee with the return address label as source.

One of the best options is the use of the peel and stick address label. As this has become widely popular among people, it can easily be bought on stationery stores and other merchandise outlets. These stores have customized templates where you can select your most preferred design and the rest of the information will be yours to fill out. Keep in mind that mails are as important as your personal belongings therefore, providing the right and appropriate information is deemed necessary in ensuring that it lands in the right person's hand. This also applies in sending out bill payments, banking documents and other personal parcels.

The use of peel and stick address label provided easier way of dealing with people. The use of these labels also provided the idea of making it more personalized as you can include personal quotation and other information you want to provide. This also calls for people to alter handwriting approach as not are endowed with a readable penmanship. Peel and stick address label will give out a handwritten free label generating formality with a touch of your individual identity and creativeness. People with less legible handwriting are more likely to have return letters since most of the time, postal offices fail to recognize specific handwriting. You wouldn't want this to happen therefore, the use of address label is gleaned more essential.

With the advent of emails and all the latest technology people might have thought that postal mails are outdated. However, this statement is a total opposite since a lot of people still prefer for a more personal written account or mail. Emails can be made-up by unknown hackers and intruders with your name as signature but a snail mail is far different from this. Personal documents and accounts cannot also be delivered via electronic mail and you would have to use postal mail instead.

Therefore, sending out parcels with your address label via postal is considered more efficient and secured as you have it stamped, sealed, and delivered to the right addressee.<bio>Find more information and tips about address labels by visiting Address Labels</bio>

I explain Domain Name Servers and Name Servers to a friend of mine all the time. He builds web sites part time. I know he's not alone; DNS confuses a lot of people.

The internet works by assigning an address to each device attached to it. This address is called an Internet Protocol Address or IP Address for short. It's a 32 bit number that's commonly written as 4 segments or octets (called an octet because each 4th is 8 bits) such as 10.10.1.1 or 216.54.217.22. Each octet can range between 0 and 255. This address works just like your street address: a packet (a chunk of communication between two devices) leaving your computer and heading for Google moves through devices call routers that route traffic on the internet. The router looks at the destination IP Address and knows which way to send the packet. Just like a letter moves through various post offices and delivery vehicles (mail man, mail trucks, airplanes, etc.) your little packet of internet traffic moves across various communication channels (phone lines, cable lines, fiber, etc.) and providers (UUNet, Cogent, Level3, Time-Warner, ATandamp;T, Sprint, AboveNet, etc.). It finally arrives at its destination and is processed and a return packet is sent back... in just the same way, it finds its way back based on your IP Address.

The Internet would be pretty hard to use if you had to remember all those IP Addresses when you wanted to visit a web page, so a naming scheme is used that allows you to enter a name that is easy to remember instead of a sequence of numbers. So, how does your computer get the IP Address of a web site when you type in the name? That's where Domain Name Servers do their job.

Name Servers. A Name Server holds the information that relates the IP Addresses for a web site to the names used to access that web site. If you want to have a web site with a domain name, you have to register or purchase (more like rent) the domain name from a service call a registrar. When I registered the domain name for my web site, I told the registrar what Name Server I was using, Most people will use the Name Servers provided by their hosting facility (where they rent the server space for their web site). That Name Server is configured to have a andquot;zoneandquot; for my domain and that zone contains records that relate a name to an IP address, this is called an andquot;A Recordandquot;. An andquot;MX Recordandquot; is used to identify the mail server for that zone, for example, I have an andquot;A Recordandquot; for my domain that points to the IP address of the web server, and the andquot;MX Recordandquot; points to the mail server for my domain. These may or may not be on the same server. When someone sends me email, their mail server will request the Name Server for my domain and will get it's IP Address, then it can request the MX Record and get it's IP Address, and then it can send packets of mail to the mail server for my domain.

Domain Name Servers. A Domain Name Server stores the domain names and associated IP Addresses for a period of time.

This is stored or cached on a server called a Domain Name Server, or DNS server for short. If the time specified for caching a domain name / IP Address relationship has passed the DNS server will remove it from its cache. When a request for an IP Address is made, and the DNS server does not have that address in its cache, the DNS Server will make a request to a set of special servers on the internet that hold the addresses for all the Name Servers and which domain names each one controls. It can then send a request to the name server for that domain to get the IP Address for the domain name and return it to the computer or device making the original request. All Internet Providers have several DNS servers and as you browse the internet your computer is constantly sending requests to these DNS servers to get (or resolve) IP Addresses for the domain names you type in or links you click on.

A web site's name to address relationships are stored on Name Servers, as you browse the Internet, DNS servers either provide the address back to your computer from cache, or, look up the Name Server for your domain and then gets the correct Name Server to get the IP Address.

Now you too understand DNS and Name Servers! <bio>Fred Black is an experienced web developer offering instructional videos at http://www.WebSiteTrainingOnline.com, An Introduction to Creating Web Sites. </bio>

Blocking spam mail is a skill that Heaven gifted to mankind. Since almost everyone utilizes the World Wide Web, which means that almost everyone also wants to make it a whole lot better. A whole lot better, you ask?

There has been a constant nuisance that has been bothering the Internet for years. And this disturbance is in the name of "spam". Spam is a shortened term given to junk mail. It is the kind of mail that you would most certainly hate to receive. Why so? It is because they are the most useless cyber creation to have ever been invented. The purpose of their invention was just plainly to annoy, and that is it.

It takes a lot of space in your email address or with Microsoft Outlook. But direct mail is still a powerful marketing method -- one that you can use with great results in your business.

Contrary to what some businesses owners believe, direct mail still gets opened and read. According to the Direct Mail Information Service, 67% of direct mail is opened, and 45% is both opened and read. Email cannot begin to match those rates.

The Direct Mail Information Service also offers some other important statistics. Their research shows that the ROI (return on investment) of direct mail is excellent -- to generate $14 in sales, one must only spend $1 on direct mail.

Other statistics show that direct mail is even more effective for businesses. Managers open 70% of direct mail they receive. The pass 9% of it on to a subordinate or coworker, but respond to or file an amazing 20%!

There are two basic ways to use direct mail -- build your own list, or use someone else's list. Building your own list will likely get you the highest quality lists, but is also more expensive and takes longer. Renting a list is often the best way to start.

If you decide to build your own direct mailing list, you should come up with a well planned strategy for acquiring contacts for your list, as well as managing your list. Here area few ideas for building your mailing list: add all of your customers, offer a free newsletter, offer drawings for free products, do reverse phone number searches on prospects to find their address.

If you plan to rent a list, you can often rent a list from a company that specializes in direct mail marketing. They may be able to help you with your direct mailing campaign so that you maximum efficacy from your investment.

Either method you use, direct mail is a powerful way to grow your business. <bio>Visit Direct Global Mailing Ltd, your mailing company, for more direct mailing resources: http://direct-global-mailing.com </bio>

According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, you can block unwanted pop up messages and better protect your computer from hackers. It's as simple as turning off the Microsoft Windows feature that allows pop up messages, or installing and running a firewall. The advantage of a firewall is that it prevents other types of unauthorized access to your computer, beyond pop up spam. Neither approach will stop pop up advertisements sent to your browser by a Web page you are visiting.

Prevent Spams!

Remove your email address from your website. If you list or link to your email address, you can expect to be spammed.

Address-harvesting robots will spider your site and extract them. So remove them wherever possible and use web-based forms instead. This will drastically cut down the amount of spam you receive if you have a website.

We MUST Stop Spams!

So too it is with our internet. We, not the senders, are paying for our connection, our disk space, our computers. These spammers are thus stealing services from US! Why do you think the courts awarded AOL over Sitxy Thousand dollars in damages for the spam Cyberpromo kept sending them? Other court cases have also awarded users and service providers substantial sums of money for trespass and conversion.

How does the spammer get my e-mail address?

The spammer can acquire e-mail addresses through a variety of means. These may include harvesting them from websites, purchasing them from third parties who compile such information, or simply using "dictionary attacks" - using software to try out all possible combinations of letters, common names and words in e-mail addresses. An e-mail spammer can buy a list of e-mail addresses from a list broker, who compiles it by harvesting addresses from Internet websites. If your e-mail address appears in a newsgroup posting, on a website, in a chat room, or in an online services membership directory, it may find its way onto these lists.

Fight Spam Today!

We must object, each and every one of us, to form a legitimate tide of opinion, to form a legitimate tide of complaint mail flooding the service providers each and every time they allow these spammers to foul our private information footpaths and despoil our data back yards. <bio>Find out How Spam Blocker can save you Money at http://SpamBlocker.eask.info </bio>

Is it essential to put your physical, andquot;snail mailandquot; address on a business card? Some very experienced networkers insist that a physical address is necessary on a business card, usually because it makes it easier to mail a brochure or follow up letter after meeting someone.

That's true, but beside the point, in my opinion. Here's what I think.

With so little space available on a standard-sized card, every graphic or line of text you include must be carefully chosen. There is simply no room for every bit of information that a business card recipient MIGHT want, so you have to be very selective.

So what are the reasons for including a physical address on a business card?

The first is simple -- so that people know where your office or store is located.

The second is simple, too -- so that people can contact you via mail.

I certainly believe in giving people multiple ways to contact you, but still, both reasons do not apply (or apply in varying degrees) to different businesses.

In the first case, a physical address is simply not very important to many companies and individuals who do most of their business online. For them, putting an address on an andquot;About Usandquot; page is usually a better use of resources than putting it on a business card.

And for those of us who work from home, revealing our personal address to anyone who might wind up with our business card is a security issue and a business hassle as well. We simply don't want strangers strolling up to our doors when we're home alone (or not home at all), or when we're tending to family business rather than money-making business.

(If you do work from home, some people suggest putting the address of your mailbox rental company on your business card. What if someone tries to drive to your business, only to wind up at MailBoxesEtc., instead? It happened to me once and my prospect was plenty irritated. I don't recommend this solution.)

So the physical location of your business is simply private or irrelevant for many business owners. Good reasons to exclude it from your business card.

But what about reason two, including an address so that people can easily send you something in the mail?

Remember, the job of a business card is to market your business. If a street address helps you do that, put it on your card; if it doesn't, you certainly don't have to include it just for another's convenience.

That's frustrating, I know, to networkers who want to send cards or catalogs or newspaper clippings to business contacts, but I feel it's only courteous to use the contact methods that people indicate they prefer.

It certainly doesn't mean you can't GET someone's physical address, if you need it, simply that you need to do so another way. Ask them for it in person. Ask for it via a phone call or an email message. Asking for an address directly also has an added benefit -- it gives you the chance to pinpoint the prospect's interests and needs, and also gives you a chance to get better acquainted.

It boils down to what I've said all along.

Imagine your typical/ideal prospect or customer. What do they need to know most urgently? What you want them to do with your business card? Do most of them need your physical address? Would you lose business if it's not included on your card? Would it be more important if they saw your guarantee, or the brand names you carry, or your many years of experience, rather than your address?

Let the answers to those questions be your guide. <bio>Business Card Design Expert Diana Ratliff explains everything you'd ever want to know about business cards at BusinessCardDesign, com.
In my e-mail one day, I received the following message: andquot;Hello, I am a subscriber to your ezine and received the attached e-mail. Please advise if this is actually from your website. Thank you.andquot;

The attachment was from my mailing list program. It was informing my dear subscriber that since her mail kept bouncing, andquot;I`m not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.andquot;

1. The Problem

Why was my newsletter bouncing? My mailing list program reports receiving this message: andquot;...The information presently available to AOL indicates this server is transmitting unsolicited e-mail to AOL. Based on AOL`s Unsolicited Bulk E-mail policy at http://www.aol.com/info/bulkemail.html AOL cannot accept further e-mail transactions from this server. Please have your ISP/ASP or server admin call AOL at 1-888-212-5537, or visit http://postmaster.info.aol.com for more information.andquot;

Basically, I was being accused of sending unsolicited commercial e-mail. This was a double opt-in subscriber. I don`t do spam!

America Online, Inc. (AOL) had blocked my subscriber from receiving the e-zine she requested. About fifteen percent of my subscribers use an AOL e-mail address. Not only am I adversely affected, but my AOL subscribers are not getting their e-mails. In contacting AOL sales and technical support, I found myself against a brick wall. Although, I was repeatedly offered a free trial to their service, they were unable to help me regain my subscriber.

andquot; Why don`t you contact your subscriber and have them whitelist your e-mail address?andquot; How? All I have is her AOL e-mail address and everything I send to her fails. Believe me, I`ve tried. (You could use another e-mail address, I suppose, to trick AOL, but why should you have to?)

Of course, they absolutely refused to remove the block against me. (If you would like to learn more about AOL, try the search terms andquot;AOLandquot; and andquot;AOL sucksandquot; in a major search engine.)

By the way, it isn`t just AOL that is doing this. Some other major Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are doing the same thing. As well, some popular e-mail software programs also filter out wanted e-mails.

2. Some Solutions

If your subscribers are not receiving your newsletter, here are some things you can do to alleviate the problem.

1. Warn your subscribers. On your newsletter signup page, explain why they might not receive your e-zine. Explain about e-mail filters; ask them to whitelist your domain, not only to bypass the ISP spam filters but also to allow mail through any e-mail software they may have.

2. Try to avoid using words that trigger spam filters. Personally, I don`t like this one; it smacks of violating my right to free speech, freedom of the press, et cetera. (Yes, I know. With rights come responsibilities. However, I am acting responsibly!) As a practical matter, though, it`s something you have to consider. (I had my newsletter checked by a popular spam checker and it passed with flying colours.)

3. Send a text e-mail informing your subscribers that the current issue of your newsletter is available online at your website. (It could also be a good move to have an archive of past issues there, too, to boost your content and search engine rankings).

4. Consider using alternative ways of communicating. For example, you might try Really Simple Syndication (RSS).

Oh, by the way, my replies (with read receipt requested) to my dear subscriber`s e-mail address appear to never have made it. To her I say: andquot; If you`re out there somewhere, please re-subscribe. You might want to think about using a different e-mail address, though.andquot; <bio>J. Just a mere glance of the newly delivered postal mails, you will instantly identify such as junk promotional mails from business mails through its address label.

Indeed an address label will subtly convey the purpose of the mails. The motif of the address label put across many messages to the receiver hence it is important to take your attention in designing and personalizing your address label.

The initial step to personalize your address label is to know exactly the nature of your business and the purpose or the message you want to convey to the recipients of the mail. There are sometimes one firm but has many different business segments. In this case, you should decide if you would keep one generic address label for the entire firm or different address label per business segment.

The purpose or the message of the mails can vary from promotional materials to official business correspondence. The address label can be slightly modified to suit the specific mails that go out for any particular special event. For this instance, you can still retain the official logo of the company however it can be enhanced to fit in with the motif of the special event that the mails are intended for.

Once you have decided both, the logo to be used and the purpose of the mails, you can now start scouring the available designs in many websites. There are many available free designs while other will require for minimal fee. Designs for address label cater from simple to elaborate concept and from a plain white sheet to glossy and foil type of materials.

One great idea in choosing the design for address label is also to know the occasions celebrated by the expected recipient of the mails. Like if you are sending Christmas cards then somehow you can incorporate a snowman or Christmas tree to signify the season being celebrated at the moment. Or perhaps, you are sending another greeting card to the other side of the globe wherein they are celebrating an Orthodox Easter Sunday. A graphic or photos of some eggs will imply the season being celebrated.

The recipient upon receiving the postal mail will not instantly understand that it is a greeting card meant for the season being celebrated. The introductory message is already communicated even the recipient didn't open yet the mail.

After you make up your mind for the design and template of the address label, you can now start printing it. There are many available labels with reasonable prices you choose from. These sheets of labels have variety of sizes hence you can create a customize address label that will complement your envelopes and stationeries.

With boundless options for the templates and designs for the address label, why not customize a personalized address label?
