Among the standard "must have" channels among subscribers of cable or satellite TV services who are concerned about local as well as international news is Fox News. This news channel really lives up to its motto, "We report, you decide", reporting events as they happen as objectively as humanly possible (except in the occasional editorial portion). It reports on anything and everything under the sun that is newsworthy to the majority of its viewing and listening public, from National News, to International News, local news, business and finance, politics, entertainment, sports, and just about everything else that needs to be made known publicly.

Thanks to the pervasiveness of the Internet, you do not even have to be in front of your television set at home to be able to get the latest news from this worldwide leader in news reportage. Among the sites that you can visit to get Fox News Live Feed is, of course, foxnews site! You simply direct your browser to the said site and choose among the many options available, including streaming video of the slightly delayed Fox News Live feed that you would normally see on the television screen.

Unfortunately, Fox News decided to stop this very useful feed to the detriment of millions of Internet users who had no access to cable or satellite TV. As a poor alternative, by clicking the VIDEOS button of the website, you have the option to view several multimedia files of various interesting topics at your convenience. This option, of course, provides dated information and is not the same as seeing the news as it (almost) happens.

In January 2007, Fox News introduced a new service that enables anyone with a cell phone in the United States to access Fox News Live Feed in audio format. The monthly subscription fee for this service is $2.99. Additional per minute charges for this service applies. Cellular subscribers just have to dial "#FOXN" on their mobile phones to access this service which is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week.

While this is a good alternative to get the news, and has picked up some interest, it still falls short of the "color" that comes when video is shown together with the audio news. One critique is that, since it is a paid service rather than being free, then the content should be structured in such a way that it becomes immediately informative so that the resulting cost will not be so high.

There are several blog sites that lament the fact that Fox News has ceased to offer live feeds of its news programs, in concert with similar moves by the other major news networks. These sites express distress and disappointment over the fact that the need for breaking news in areas where there is no access to Fox News and similar news channels via cable or satellite TV. While Fox News has somehow addressed this issue with their live audio feeds via cell phones, this is not a free service and is audio exclusive. There are suggestions being made that Fox News revives their live feed broadcast via the Internet, even if this will be via membership with appropriate and reasonable service fees charged. <bio>John Sugarman is an internet marketer and a Fox News enthusiast, for more information about Fox News Live Feed Visit http://satellitetvonpcsite.blogspot.com </bio>

Finding news online

With printed newspapers losing subscribers every day, people are finding other options to stay up to date with their news. Newspaper sales reached their peak in 1970 when approximately 62 million newspapers were sold in the country every day. However, with the population in the U.S. on the rise, newspapers sales are not keeping up. It is estimated that approximately 55 million newspapers are sold every day.

In the 1920's the average newspaper purchased per household peaked at 1.3. In the 1970's that figure started to dip to below 1 paper per house. By the year 2000, the number dropped to .53 newspapers per household.

One reason is that people just don't read as much as they used to. People seem to be busier then ever and just don't take the time to read any more.

Many are switching their news habits by watching the big three network news and cable news programs in place of the newspaper.

With so many options on TV news, it seems that there is a news station for every taste.

While many "older" adults still prefer newspapers, "young" adults have seemed to prefer to get their news from the internet. TV news still is the most accessed news source, but the internet is quickly becoming the favorite source of news, especially in the form of news blogs, news portals and online newspapers.

Online news is gaining popularity every day. Virtually every major newspaper has a version of an online newspaper. Pioneers like Mike Drudge have been leading the way in independent news providers. And there are countless news blogs across the web.

Part of what makes news blogs so popular is that they can be used as an RSS feed. This allows the news feed to be used on other blogs across the web and also allows the news feed to be read by many more viewers. People also love news blogs because you can leave comments and this creates a dialogue on the story which is a great way to feel like you are a part of the story.

Although newspapers may be on the decline, it does not mean that people have stopped reading the news, only where they read their news from. So it seems that if you are not getting your news online, you may soon be in the minority. <bio>The author of this article publishes an internet marketing news blog that can be found at http://www.yourinfoconnection.com and a technology news blog at http://www.techtipstoday.com </bio>

Your desktop news ticker automatically makes your computer desktop feel like Times Square. As silly as it may sound, but as a decision-making who is in charge of a large department in a rather successful corporation, I find that I like to keep up on in current events. The only problem is that I often do not have the time to read the newspaper. Oh sure, I get to listen to morning radio, and I do that every morning, but I've always been driven to success. A half an hour of radio news on the way to work might be enough for some people to feel connected to the world, but for me it barely even begins to make me feel in touch. For me, if I am not aware of all of the important things that are going on in every part of the world all day, right from the handiness of my computer desktop, I might as well be in the middle of nowhere without even wireless internet. And that is where my Fox desktop news ticker comes into the picture!

For sure, you can tell right off the bat that it is going to give you all the news that you need to feel in tune with what is going on around you, even if you only read the headlines on the desktop news ticker. Why else would they call it "fair and impartial" reporting if it was not just that? And the headlines on the desktop news ticker are usually graphic enough so that, if you are extremely busy as I am, you can get by without reading the articles at all, and still know what is happening around you. But if you don't want to read what is going on, no problem. Just click the headline as it scrolls by on the trusty desktop news ticker, and it will pop right up for you. No joking. It is some brilliant innovation, I must say.

Even though if you are not a fan of Fox News, for instance if you are a Communist or something, and still happen to be smart enough to read, you can get a desktop news ticker for many other publications. In fact, there are some desktop news tickers that allow you to select from between many different news sites, so that you can vary them according to your mood, or according to whether you would prefer to hear fair and balanced reporting, or not that day. <bio>Paul I.
For most people with the internet, the local news just doesn't cut it for us anymore. We want personal, in depth stories that most local news broadcasts aren't willing to cover. Or maybe you like knowing what's going on locally but you hate having to be on a time schedule. You are forced to listen to forty minutes of negative reports that you've already seen, just to hear the new story.

Luckily for us there are blogs available online that keep readers updated on the latest information. You are even able to find all of your favorite television stations broadcasters online. News blogs are great for people who are interested in reading about specific topics because the posts are often categorized by topic. For example, recently blogs have erupted on the scene and have taken American political opinion by storm. Blogs and political opinion happen to play a large role in American politics now.

But blogs aren't limited to just politics. You can even find bloggers commenting on recent news events. When the US was bombing Iraq, bloggers of Iraqi citizens were very popular. This is where blogs really give the reader the real information from someone who is there, at the scene. It's pretty obvious that traditional media, like the news on TV, is controlled by big business. Content is very filtered before it gets to you. I don't know about you, but I don't like my news filtered by anyone.

You can take advantage of blog RSS feeds to keep updated on the latest events and posts. Google Reader is also a free handy tool that will allow you to keep updated on all of your favorite blogs, all in one spot.

If you use google, you can create an account and have your favorites feeds displayed on your personalized home page. This same service is offered by Yahoo. This is probably the most convenient way to get your favorites blogs. There are also readers you can download and install in your PC wich offer a wide range of options to display and filter the content you have choosen.

If you prefer, you can receive your feed by email too. Most blogs offer this kind of service and you will get an update daily (or as often as the author updates it) on your inbox. This is too a good way to stay at the top of the news of the themes that most interest you. Personally this is my favorite way to receive updates, since I always check my email several times during the day.

If your favorite blog doesn't offer some of this options, you can ask the author to include it. Most of them will be happy to give you this kind of service to their readers. Although most blog software nowadays have this options installed by default, so it is usually just a matter of activating them.

Nowadays I prefer blogs over watching the news, simply because I like to get the facts without having to wait through a commercial. <bio>A community site for people to discuss what's hot in today's News, covering current events in many categories. http://www.nemsplace.co.uk http://www.alojate.com </bio>

One thing that we have always found interesting is the scams that surround MLM companies, and when we first heard about Quatloos, who specializes in multilevel marketing news around the internet, we were all ears, or eyes in this case. Although this should be taken quite seriously, they also have sections that talk about some of the funniest scams which keep the website just as entertaining as it is real.

We are quite impressed, but we also wanted to look into some of the companies they have on their website and what exactly they are considering frauds. The only reason is because whether it's multilevel marketing news or your local news, there is always to sides to every story. Then we came to their specific MLM articles area to see the first one read, "The Ten Big Lies of Multi-Level Marketing", but the page wasn't accessible so we never got to see what it had to say, maybe you'll have better luck.

We moved down a couple to their "MLM Survivor" link, but after we clicked on it, the site that came up had articles on the front page from 2004 and around that timeline. Which, of course, we were a little frustrated, but things happen so it wasn't that big of deal, so we just moved on to read about some of the scams they had on there. The first one we came to was a Child Support Collection Course, which we could see many single parents that are having a hard time receiving child support get involved with a program of this nature.

So we clicked on the link and was sent to a website called; The WorldWide Scam Network. Not the multilevel marketing news company we were expecting to see, but we were interested nonetheless. To be honest, there was so much stuff all over the page we tried to find the child support one, but didn't take too much time because it was a little overwhelming. However, even though we were having our own challenges finding what we wanted, Quatloos did have some multilevel marketing news that we could find and that was an evaluation plan the FTC suggests you try.

It's an excellent list of eight things you should do and look for, which of course, we have suggested in several articles ourselves. So we looked at some other beneficial things within Quatloos, but it just reminded us how important it is to stress researching any company before you get involved with them. Multilevel marketing news around the internet will not catch everything, and even if you read every website that offers this type of news like Quatloos, there would still be new scams and illegal companies surfacing somewhere else.

This is why we would suggest going over to the Quatloos website and just read the eight different things the FTC talks about, then add that into the list of questions you already have when you research a company you are interested in. If you don't have a list make one, because even though we are not a multilevel marketing news company, we do a lot of reviews on several companies because we want to look out for you, and your best interests.<bio>You can read our Unbiased, expert review of Quatloos from Brian Garvin and Jeff West at MLM Review Kings.
Berks is a first-of-its-kind internet news station covering the Greater Reading Pennsylvania region. Groundbreaking in both quality and scope, Berks aims to revolutionize the way local news is done...by truly makingit local.

Berks features interviews and video footage of local people, events and businesses. Run by Reading local Tara Karleen, Berks presents a picture of Berks County and the Greater Reading region that you can't get anywhere else. And best of all, it's available on the web for free: all the time, any time.

One of the least tapped potentials of the internet has been the development of local community. But there is evidence that this is changing. Even the search engine giants like Google are directing their efforts towards localized content. Berks is looking to speed up this trend by using the enormous power of online video to strengthen and inform the local community in Berks County.

According to Tara Karleen, andquot;The primary mission of Berks is to serve the Reading and Berks County communities by highlighting the very best of what our region has to offer. In the process, we hope to build strong relationships and encourage regional collaborations that otherwise might not have happened.andquot;

So far, Berks has acheived a great deal of success. In their first month broadcasting over the web, they've already talked with the Mayor of Reading about his high-tech plans for the city, covered the local Berks County wine scene, interviewed a number of artists and musicians and even had top notch video footage of the 2006 Reading Flood. More recently, Berks was ableto interview Governor Ed Rendell about his vision for the Latino community in Reading, PA.

The emergence of online video marks a major milestone in the history ofcommunication. Grassroots efforts such as Berks are ushering in a media revolution that encourages an organic collaboration between ordinary citizens and traditional media outelts. Accordingly, Berks plans to partner with existing media organizations to enhance the viewer's ability to access regional information online.

With the decentralization of media on the web, one might worry about lowering standards of quality. But Berks puts those worries to rest. All of Berks footage is shot in high quality 1080i HD video footage and presented via the ubiquitous QuickTime media player. While popular siteslike Google Video and YouTube settle for lower-quality, smaller-sized video, Berks publishes high quality video to make the future of internet video happen today. <bio>The mission at Berks.TV is to chart the continued rise of the Greater Reading region and to help make connections among those in the community. Video on the Web is the perfect medium to carry out this mission-: http://www.berks.tv </bio>

The top news of the day reaches millions of people daily via the Internet. You can catch up with the geo-political and environmental issues, as well as the latest Lebanese news sprinkled with interesting blogs and videos chronicling the lighter side of life about the people, culture, and events in Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Greece, Israel and more.

The Advantage of Getting News Online

Reading the morning's newspaper over a cup of coffee is a time-honored ritual. But the Internet has changed all that. The newspaper is contested by online news that include riveting videos and virtual tours. The "close encounter" experience heightens your satisfaction of reading Lebanese news and international summits for global concerns. On top of all this, you are alerted to breaking headlines minute by minute.

Online sites provide access to the different headlines from several top Middle East newspapers churning out the day's events from all over the globe. You can also have your choice of different Middle East newspapers and your daily dose of: World News, Lebanese News, Middle East News, Our Planet, and World Sports.

The different broadsheets - Nahamet News, Daily Star-News Briefs, Ya Liban News, Daily Star Local, and Google News Lebanon provide more than news. You can gloss over the editorials, interviews, technology, business, health, culture, classifieds, and entertainment. These always give the latest and most intriguing pieces on World News.

Unlike the newspaper that's tossed to your proverbial lawn, your online news won't be chewed up by the dog. Rain or sun and day or night, you have your news in your computer. A good Internet connection provides non-stop news feeds.

Getting the Best from Online News

The online sites are easy to navigate. The items are categorized according to blogs, newspapers, politics, business, Lebanese sports, and videos. All but the video and blog sections have drop-down menus to provide you a selection of newspapers. In the blogs section, the drop-down menu lists the bloggers of the different newspapers. For videos, you will be immediately directed to Yahoo! Videos.

If you are into Middle East news and want to say your piece about the events, you can post your comments about the press releases. The available chat feature and discussion forum instantly connects you to other Lebanese news aficionados.

If you're looking to expand your business, or eyeing an opportunity in the import and export business, or simply looking for financially rewarding breaks, you can always go over the classifieds.

Thinking about someplace that offers a new experience? The Middle East should top your list. Hunt for the best place to stay by region, restaurants to dine in, and stores to scour for interesting trinkets, rugs, jewelry, and excellent wines in the newspapers' directories. The transport and travel guide with a list of interesting places can help you map out your visit to the Middle East, where a fascinating mix of the cosmopolitan and eastern mystic continue to enthrall tourists.

Reading up on Lebanese news provides you another window to look at the picture of the Middle East.
Stained glass can be located in a variety of markets. It takes an expert eye to get a good deal and ensure that the desired glass is of good quality. If you prefer making an online deal, you can find stained glass kits on the Internet. At present, dozens of online suppliers offer stained glass kits at reasonable prices.

The Pros and Cons of Dealing With a Local Store Instead of Making an Online Purchase

If you inspect the stained glass before purchasing, it minimizes the chances of defect. You can also take the advice of the local store dealer regarding the purpose of the glass and its intended use. Accordingly, the dealer will suggest a particular variety of stained glass to you. Making an online purchase can end in trouble because you don't know the kind of quality you're being given.

The advice of a local dealer is preferable, more often than not, since he deals regularly in the business. The drawback is that the local dealer sells at a retail price instead of the wholesale rate you'll often find online. Purchasing a similar quality and quantity of glass from a discount store is a better option. Also, the variety in respect to the design and color of glass may be limited with the local dealer, although he can always place special orders.

It is not at all advisable to rely on the catalogues the store dealer displays. The product you receive may not be what the catalog shows. It makes sense to ask the dealer whether a pre-inspection of the product will be allowed. Online purchasers should buy a small quantity as a sample to be sure of the quality. Don't forget to take into account the shipping costs when making an online deal. Many people only compare the price charged by the online dealer and ignore the shipping charges.

Stained Glass - A Specialized Art Form

The external environment and background need to be considered when you are creating a new piece or restoring an existing one. The style should be relevant to the overall surrounding so that it can be depicted as artwork. It can be given to loved ones as a special gift. You can even sell stained glass at craft shows if you wish to get in the business of making stained glass. <bio>http://www.art-crafts-magazine.com http://www.recreation-news-magazine.com </bio>

Do you ever feel like everybody is speaking in a different language and you have no idea what about? Remember the time when your super-smart colleague tried to make conversation with you? You could do nothing more than stare blankly at her before making a beeline for the restroom because you had no idea what she was talking about.

We all have our bad days when we feel left out from the conversation because we have not been keeping up with all the things happening in the world. Well, thanks to the rise of the World Wide Web, even if you find yourself lagging behind in information pertaining to some department, you can always catch up without too much effort. How so? Well, you could try looking up some news and information archives.

Earlier, you had to visit the news and information archives that were run by the government, and these were not always the easiest of places to move around in. But thanks to the rise of archives on the Internet, all you need to do is punch in a couple of keys and watch yourself face to face with a long list of news and information archives. Not only do the news and information archives on the Internet make your search for news and information very quick, but they also save you a trip to those musty old archives of hard copy.

Would you say that we are becoming lazier and more and more spoilt thanks to the ease of using the Internet? Perhaps we are, but do you really care? Isn't it brilliant how we are able to sit at a desk and view the happenings in the world? Moreover, if you are looking for specific news and information, all you need to do is specify what kind of an archive you are looking for. So you could find an archive of only news stories or an archive of information on population or economics or gadget developments.

News and information archives also help us channel our research. We no longer have to sift through hordes of information that will be of no use to us. It is easier, quicker and a whole lot more convenient.

Keep yourself updated by reading up news articles pertaining to the days when you did not have the time. So the next time that you find a discussion that you would like to be a part of, you will be prepared to join in with gusto! <bio>Ajeet Khurana is a web enthusiast and an author.
We are half-way through this warm weather month of August and the heat has become something of a burden and a hassle for many of us. Good thing the weather can be a source of amusement too sometimes. There were two reports last week about the weather that just made me smile. I'm re-telling them here in an effort to provide you with something to smile (or smirk) about this summer.

The first report, which originated from Moscow in Russia, recounted how Alyona Gabitova, a Russian woman from the town of Uljanovsk, was suing local weather forecasters for making a wrong prediction about the weather that ultimately ruined her holiday trip.

It seems that local weather forecasters had predicted sunny weather and a temperature of around 82.4 degrees Fahrenheit for one weekend a couple of weeks ago. Based on that weather report, Gabitova planned a weekend camping trip to a nearby nature park. She packed carefully for what she anticipated would be a grand weekend frolicking under clear blue skies but instead of sunny weather, she was greeted with non-stop rains all throughout the weekend.

As a result, Gabitova said her entire weekend was ruined and, to top if off, she caught a cold after getting soaked under all that rain. She later filed a suit in court against the weather forecasters. The local newspaper Nowyje Iswestijia reported that Gavitova was suing the weather forecasters to reimburse the travel costs of her aborted holiday camping trip. The paper said the court has yet to act on the woman's complaint.

Now, how's that for new-found freedom in the former communist republic?

The other news report, this time from a local US newspaper, told of how people can determine how warm the weather was going to be by listening to the chirping of crickets. Apparently, all you have to do is count the number of chirps which crickets make in 15 seconds, add the figure of 40 to that, and that's going to be close to the weather for that day. The report said that doing this will put you a couple of degrees of the actual air temperature.

Too bad the lady Gabitova didn't know this early enough. Otherwise, she would have noticed that no crickets were chirping during her holiday weekend and would have cancelled her trip. <bio>Jonathon Hardcastle writes articles for http://iweatherworld.com/ - In addition, Jonathon also writes articles for http://1st-computers.net/ and http://thebusinessbuzz.net/ </bio>

The reality is that there are many hundreds of dogs that are lost every year that are never located again. This is a sad statistic that most dog owners hope never happens to their beloved pet. There are some things that you can do to help minimize the risk of losing your dog and maximize the chances that your dog will be returned to you in the event that it is lost.

The following tips will help prevent your dog from getting lost in the first place:

Always take your dog on a leash wherever you go. Never take the dog out of the car without first attaching the leash before opening the door. Use a leash with a looped handle that you place over your wrist to avoid the lead from being pulled out of your fingers with a sudden movement of the dog.

If you have your hands full, make two trips. Take the dog in one trip and the packages in another. With too many things to hold you are likely to let the leash slip, giving the dog the chance to run away.

Crate train your dog if possible and always keep them in the crate when they are in new or unfamiliar settings.

Avoid allowing small children or individuals that are unfamiliar with your dog from handling or walking your dog when you are not present.

Safety check your fence, kennel or run frequently. Repair any holds, damaged areas or spots the dog has been digging as soon as they are noted.

Keep gates locked and secured, especially when the dog is left outside in the yard.

To help recover a lost dog:

Always have a current picture of your dog available. This is important if you are traveling or away from home. Digital pictures are great because they can be easily reproduced when needed at most photo stores or computer centers.

Know the number for the local shelters, rescues and animal control locations where you are staying. Most of the vets and animal clinics will also post announcements of missing or lost pets.

Keep a collar on your dog with an identifying tag that is up to date. At least have a current phone number on the tag. If you are going on a holiday to a distant location consider having a special tag made with your cell phone number or number where you will be staying.

Microchip your dog. This is a simple, painless procedure where a tiny microchip is implanted under the dog's skin. A simple scan at a shelter or a vet's office will immediately provide contact information for the shelter to contact the owner. Keep all information up to date.

As soon as you notice that your dog is missing contact your local animal control, shelters, rescues and even the local vets in the area. Notify the breed association as well and be prepared to put up flyers, run a add in the newspaper or even post your dog's picture on the internet.

Losing a dog is always stressful and traumatic but having a plan on how to locate the dog will eliminate some of the concern. <bio>For more important dog information, read more of Kelly Marshall's articles on Dog Health Care at http://www.ohmydogsupplies.com/news/cat/2/dog-health-care-questions.html and articles on training tips here http://www.ohmydogsupplies.com/news/cat/5/dog-training-tips.html </bio>

The age of technology has brought many wonderful resources right into our homes. Today you can shop, hunt for a job or chat with friends without ever having to leave the house. Christians can also find plenty of resources available to help them grow in their faith. Whether you are looking for the latest news in the Christian community, needing some help with your current bible study or simply want to meet some new friends who share your faith, you can find it all on websites that are devoted to Christians looking to make the most of their spiritual journey.

Get the News

Whether you want to keep up with what's going on in the Christian community or simply want your world news from a Christian source, you can find what you are looking for online. There are plenty of good websites that will keep you up to date on happenings within the church, including missionary reports, local news about specific churches in your area and updates on all your favorite Christian celebrities. Others want to get their world news from Christian sources, instead of relying on the mainstream, often liberal, press for their information. There are many Christian news agencies online that can deliver up to the minute news from a Christian perspective.

Learn your Bible

Having a little trouble figuring out where Isaiah was coming from or how to decipher Revelations? There are plenty of great online sources for Christians that need a little help with their bible study homework. Some will give you scriptural references so that you can look up verses with just a phrase or a few keywords. Others will provide a full commentary of text so that you can figure out all of that confusing symbolism in the last book of the bible. Some of these sites are designed by people or groups that many have come to respect in the Christian community. While websites should never be a substitute for daily scripture reading, they can sure come in handy when you need to figure out what a specific piece of scripture is referring to.

Meet some Friends

Christians need other Christians to help build them up in their faith and stand by them when the going gets rough. The bible warns against being "unequally yoked" to those who do not share your belief system. But it can be hard to get out in the Christian community and meet people. Some churches are not conducive to relationship building and many who have come to faith as adults don't have many Christian friends in their current social circle to lean on. The solution may be one of the many Christian friendship and dating social networks that are available. These sites will allow you to connect with other believers across the globe to share interests and your love of God.

Christians need online resources just like anyone else, and the good news is that now they can find them. Websites that provide everything from scripture commentary to meeting members of the opposite sex are now available to the virtual Christian community.<bio>Nathan Martyn is webmaster of Christian MySpace Layouts, a site dedicated to Christian Myspace Graphics, layouts, banners and religous myspace icons.</bio>

Broadcasting is the term most often used to describe the act of disseminating the news, but for some companies, narrowcasting the news may be a good business strategy.

People's news gathering habits have changed drastically over the past few years. Businesses that use digital signage can benefit from adding a news feed to their signs. Not only will narrowcasting the news get more people's attention, it fits right in with the way many coveted demographics (affluent, educated and under 40) get their news -- on the fly and in small chunks.

Trends in News Gathering

It used to be that people got their news from their daily paper or their nightly national news broadcast. With the rise of the Internet, news seekers have shifted to online sources in huge numbers. According to an August, 2008 report by the Pew Center for the People and the Press, the changes have been dramatic:

• In 1998, 13% of the public went online for news three days a week. In 2008, that number had increased to 37%.

• In 1998 only 6% of respondents went online for news on a daily basis. In 2008, that number had increased to 25%.

• In 2008, 80% of people reported that they absorb news in some way every day. But traditional news sources (newspaper, TV networks and radio) saw their share of the news gathering audience shrink from 90% in 1994 to 73% in 1998.

What does all of this mean to companies with narrowcasting networks in their restaurants, bank branches, transit platforms and waiting rooms? People want to be informed. They want the latest news. And they are comfortable getting it from a wide range of sources, even those that might have been frowned upon as less than trustworthy a decade ago.

Including news in your narrowcasting network adds value. Instead of feeling they are being advertised to, people will appreciate the information being provided and gain a positive impression of your business.

And how does your business stand to gain? Again, we can extrapolate from the Pew Center study. The study divided groups into segments, including Integrators and Net-Newsers. The Integrators gather news from traditional and online sources. Net-Newsers rely much more heavily on online sources for their news.

It is what these segments have in common that is of most interest to creators of narrowcasting programming. They are both well-educated and affluent. Net-newsers are younger, but both groups combined represent a highly desired demographic in the eyes of advertisers.

How Narrowcasting the News Might Work in Your Business

News narrowcasting is not suited to every business. Busy grocery or department store shoppers will not stop to read news items on a digital sign. But for businesses where customers need to wait, narrowcasting the news makes sense: in a restaurant lounge where people wait for a table; in a medical office; in a bank branch; on a commuter train or subway platform.

The news feed can be incorporated as a small segment of the screen, leaving ample opportunity for your narrowcasting network to display video and images that promote your business. A balanced approach to informing and marketing will resonate strongly with your audience, and have a positive influence on your business.<bio>For more information on Narrowcasting Services contact a Narrowcasting Consultant at http://www.ek3.com/narrowcasting-services/consulting.htm</bio>

Not even three months after its monumental release, Apple's iphone is making really big news not only in the traditional media but also in the World Wide Web. iphone news have recently become more than just about features of the touchscreen-phone iPod. In fact, a person around the world search for iphone news even before the phone was launched last June.

When the rumors first came out that Steve Jobs' Apple will be issuing an iPod with call and SMS capabilities, a lot of people have started calling it an iphone. With no official iphone news from Apple, many bloggers and tech enthusiasts have started discussing about the then-to-be-launched iphone. Soon, more iphone news was published in the Internet.

Truth be told, when Apple made the iphone available to public that very historic Friday in June, iphone news was indeed big news! Customers lined up for the iphone launch. The earliest was Monday, 4-days before the official launch. iphone news has it that many were excited with the product that combines an iPod, amobile phone, and even a wireless Internet device into one.

Apple Fans Love the Latest iphone News

Until today, Apple has never failed to give the Apple lovers and even those who think the cellphone is just hype with all the iphone news they want. The first week of September saw the release of Apple's newest iPod models: the clip-on shuffle in new colors, the new fatty iPod Nano, the iPod classic, and the iPod Touch. The announcement proved to bring another Apple sensation in the media and the world. Just like iphone news, reports on the newest iPods are taking the world by storm.

However, early iphone adapters are disappointed with Steve Job's statement that the iPone's price will go down by almost $200, 3 months after they bought the $599 Apple phone. The change in price came with the release of iPod touch---an iphone without the phone. But 2 days after the announcement during Apple's The Special Event, Steve Job's sent out an open letter to the iphone owners that they will be receiving a $100 store credit reward. Now, the iphone owners are more than happy with the rebate after crying foul over the price cut.

Over the past few months of iphone news history, it is easy to note that Apple iphone is not just hype nor hysteria. It can be considered as a breakthrough gadget because it paved the way for many new hi-tech gadgets such as touchscreen phones, touchscreen MP3 players, and of course, the new iPods. http://www.the-iphone.biz <bio>http://www.the-iphone.biz </bio>

So you've written a book. Congratulations.

Now comes the hard part -- selling it.

Whether you are a self published author or you have had your book published by a book publishing company, it's still up to you to market your book effectively to produce maximum sales.

So where do you start?

Well first of all you need to publicize your book at least 4 months before the date of publication. Book reviewers and book store managers like to know about its existence well in advance so that they can prepare for its launch date.

And remember that readers are swamped by books all the time. Hundreds of thousands of titles are published every year, which means there is a new book available every few minutes.

And not only does your book have to fight for attention with all the other new books, but it also faces stiff competition from movies, TV, magazines, the internet and computer games, just to name a few.

So your marketing efforts have to single out your book as the most beneficial thing for your readers in amongst the sea of other competing interests.

So you need to create name recognition for yourself and your book so that you both stand out from all the rest.

Great publicity has been known to create huge sales for even weak books. And lack of publicity has caused great books to be overlooked.

Marketing as widely and as often as possible helps you to reach the widest audience. You can market your book through several different mediums, the most obvious of which are the newspapers. Local newspapers are usually always short of news, so a local author bringing out a new book will always cause a buzz. But you can always approach state and national newspapers too.

You can also use both local and national radio for publicity. There are also plenty of internet radio stations always looking for celebrity guests (such as authors) to interview.

You can also help drive sales by helping with promotions at book stores and doing author appearances. And don't forget to alert the local media when you do.

And don't think that publicity through television is out of your reach either. There are plenty of local and national news programs looking for items to fill their time slots.

You can also use all these mediums, and more, for placing advertisements about your book.

And sell your book by stressing the benefits for the reader. If it's a novel state why it's better than all the rest and how it will scare/touch/marvel the reader.

Of course it's easier to sell the benefits of your book if its non-fiction. Just make sure you list all the benefits and the value a reader will receive from owning a copy of your book.

Remember your readers are buying the benefits of owning your book, not the physical book itself.

So sing it's praises as far and wide as you can and let your book be known well in advance of it's publishing date so that people will be queuing up to buy it.<bio>Learn more about book publishing and marketing at http://www.selfpublishworldwide.com.
Wow, as a two time survivor of cancer I found it amazing that I might be able to eat my self free of cancer. Well, that is an over statement but new research is showing that Curcumin to have strong cancer fighting properties. Curcumin also called turmeric is the compound that gives curry its yellow tint. Curcumin has long been known for its antioxidant properties and is being studied now for it benefits in treating several different diseases. Cancer researchers have taken an interest in Curcumin because many countries with curry-rich cuisines have lower cancer rates than Western countries have.

Researchers from the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center found Curcumin, blocks a key biological pathway needed for development of melanoma and other cancers. The study was published in the August 15, 2005 issue of the American Cancer Society journal "Cancer". The study tested varying doses of Curcumin on three melanoma cell lines. It showed that Curcumin stops laboratory strains of melanoma from proliferating and induced apoptosis (programmed cell suicide). The results were the same for high concentrations of Curcumin over short periods of time and smaller doses over longer periods of time.

In a study published in 2002 in "Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention", researcher gave three groups of mice different amounts of Curcumin extract for 15 weeks. The results showed that the group of mice given the largest amount of Curcumin found a reduction of 40 percent in benign tumors that were caused the same gene that causes mot types of colon cancer. A similar study was published in "The Prostate" in 2001. Again three groups of mice were used. All three were injected with human prostate cancer cells. One group was a placebo group that received no treatment. One group was given Curcumin when injected with the cancer cells. The other group was given Curcumin two weeks after the cancer injection. After 6 weeks the tumors in the two groups give Curcumin were to percent smaller than in the placebo groups.

A study on Curcumin and breast cancer was published in Cancer Research, Vol. 62, July 1, 2002, pp. 3868-75. This study found that the use of Curcumin was as effective in preventing the spread of breast cancer as Taxol in laboratory mice. In the study mice were induced with breast cancer then the tumors were removed such as with a mastectomy in humans. Then the mice were divided into 4 groups. One was a placebo group, one received Curcumin, one received Taxol, and the other Curcumin and Taxol. After 5 weeks the study showed that half the mice in the Curcumin group had the cancer spread to the lungs. Only 22 percent of those in the Curcumin plus Taxol group had seen the cancer spread. 75 percent of the Taxol only group saw the cancer spread. The placebo group saw 95 percent of the mice had the cancer spread to the lungs. These were amazing results.

Human studies are just beginning. But the early signs are that the simple safe spice may offer a safe way of preventing cancer and may also be a great way of aiding in the treatment of Cancer.

It should be noted that a culture study showed that Curcumin reduced the effects of several chemo drugs used for treating cancer.

Rusty Ford http://my-local-news.com <bio>Rusty Ford is the editory of http://arthritis-symptom.com and the health editor for http://My-Local-News.com. </bio>

Obama claims that he plans to pay for his spending increases by taxing corporations and the rich, while cutting taxes to the middle class. What he does not tell you is that his tax plans will essentially raise taxes on the poorest Americans. He also does not tell you that his taxes on the rich will not come even close to paying for more tax cuts for the middle class. He says that he will pay for his programs by closing corporate tax loopholes. He does not say which loop holes he will close. Many tax loopholes were created to encourage large corporations to help the poor. Closing these loopholes will hurt many of the poorest of Americans.

There are two other major ways that Obama plans on taxing the poor. One is by raising taxes on corporations and second is by making businesses pay for insurance for people who do not work for their companies. Both of these programs will significantly impact the poor and especially the poorest of all Americans.

Obama like many Democrats, is relying on the general lack of understanding of how taxes work. They want you to think that they are taxing someone else. There is only one group of Americans that pay taxes, that is the individual tax payer. Yes, you can tax companies and corporations but they are not the ones who pay the taxes. The taxes are paid by the people who buy their products or use their services. If you raise taxes on businesses they have no choice but to add the cost into the prices of their products or services. If they do not they go out of business. Below is an example of how taxing corporations affects prices. For the example I will use food because everyone including the poorest of the poor has to buy food.

The example is a can of pears. Since almost all farmers have incorporated to be able to stay in business, they will have to raise their prices. They send the pears to a packing house that is incorporated so they have to raise their price. A trucking company takes the pears to manufacturer to can the pears, they have to raise their price to pay the corporate taxes. The pears are sent to a national distributor, who has mark up their price. The distributor sends the canned pears to the local grocery store, which is also incorporated, so they have to raise their prices as well. This means that at least 5 different corporations have had to raise their prices just so you can buy a can of pears.

It works this way for every product manufactured in America. It does not matter if it is food, cars, electronics cosmetics pharmaceuticals or anything else. If you raise taxes on corporations the consumer has to pay more for every product they buy.

The second way Obama plans on taxing the poor is in his health care plan. His plan calls for all companies (incorporated or not) to pay for health care not only for their employees but they will also have to pay into a pool for people who do not work for their companies. When you make companies pay for insurance for people who are not employed by the company then you raise their costs. They have no choice but to raise their prices to be able to make ends meet. Who ends up paying or the insurance for 45 million Americans? You do! Under Obama's plan, everyone will have to pay more, even the people who cannot now afford to feed and clothe their families.

To sum up there are three ways Obama's plan will affect the poor.

1. Closing corporate loopholes designed to help the poor.
2. Forcing the poor to pay for the many levels of price increases due to corporate taxes.
3. Forcing all business to pay into a pool to cover those who do not have insurance will raise prices on the products that the poor purchase.<bio>Rusty Ford Editor http://www.my-local-news.com/</bio>

There are a lot of fabulous stories about Cetyl Myristoleate (also known as CMO or CM) floating across the Internet. Mine is one of them. There have been a number of articles published in little known journals or magazines. There have been four small booklets published. One making fantastic claims, all four filled with anecdotal evidence but offering no real research to back up the claims. There are a number of Doctors sharing the results they are having with their patients but so does every other wonder-working product. The question is, are there any scientific studies to back up any of these claims? The answer is yes. To date there are several patient studies and two double blind studies completed. I will mention the three most prominent below.

Dr Len Sands of the San Diego Clinic completed the first human study on the effectiveness on Cetyl Myristoleate in 1995. There were 48 arthritis patients in this study. All but two showed significant improvement in articular mobility (80% or better) and reduction of pain (70% or better). Obviously the study had its flaws. One doctor conducted the study, there was no control group and the number of participants was small. Even so, it suggested to many that maybe there was some hope here and that more scientific studies should follow.

The first double blind study followed two years later. Dr. H. Siemandi conducted a double blind study under the auspices of the Joint European Hospital Studies Program. There were 431 patients in the study, 106 who received cetyl myristoleate, 99 who received cetyl myristoleate, and glucosamine, sea cucumber, and hydrolyzed cartilage and 226 who received a placebo. Clinical assessment included radiological test and other studies. Results were 63% improvement for the cetyl myristoleate group, 87% for the cetyl myristoleate plus glucosamine group and 15% for the placebo group.

In August of 2002, a double blind study was published in the Journal or Rheumatology. The study included sixty-four patients with chronic knee OA. Half of the patients received a cetyl myristoleate complex and half a placebo. Evaluations included physician assessment, knee range of motion with goniometry, and the Lequesne Algofunctional Index (LAI). The conclusion was that the CM group saw significant improvement while the placebo group saw little to none. In fact in their conclusion the state that CM "may be an alternative to the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for the treatment of OA".

Advanced Medical Systems and Design, Ltd completed the last study I would like to mention in Oct 2001. It was not a double blind study but the study included 1814 arthritis patients. The results showed that over 87% of the subjects had greater than 50% recovery and over 65% of those showed from 75% - 100% recovery following a sixteen day regimen. I know that this is not the most scientific study but a study this large does suggest that there could be a positive benefit to the use of CM in the treatment of arthritis.

Conclusion: There is mounting evidence that CM can be effective in the treatment of many forms of arthritis. While it is true that the evidence from these three studies can not be considered conclusive, it is a beginning. It should challenge you to think out side the box and consider that just because it did not come from a drug company does not mean that it will not work. With over 10,000 people a year dying from Nsaids would it not be great to find a safer and more effective product. Especially with the cost of prescription treatments for arthritis costing into the hundreds and good Cetyl Myristoleate products can be found for between $20 and $40.

Rusty Ford http://my-local-news.com <bio>Rusty Ford is the editory of http://arthritis-symptom.com and the health editor for http://My-Local-News.com. </bio>
