A soap that grows on trees and is free of any harmful chemicals and toxic dyes is called a soap nut! Sounds vague, but it is true! Soap nuts are actually the fruit of a tree called Sapindus and have a cleansing property because of the presence of a natural surfactant called Saponin. This Saponin, when it comes in contact with water, cleans the clothes by allowing the water to enter the cloth fabric and remove the dirt. It is eco-friendly and harmless to the environment, as well as having anti microbial properties.

Soap nuts can be used for many purposes. They can be used as laundry detergent or to clean your utensils. They can also be used as a natural pesticide or for cleaning jewelry.

LAUNDRY: Tie 4-6 soap nut shells in a muslin bag (provided with most soap nuts orders) and put it in the washing machine load at a desired temperature. You can use the same pouch for 4 to 6 loads of laundry. When the shells become grayish and mushy, they are ready to be replaced and added to your compost. 100 g of soap nuts can be used for approximately 40 loads of laundry.

DISH CLEANER: You can use soap nuts liquid to wash your dishes. To make the liquid, boil 100g of soap nuts in 12 cups (20 l) of water for approximately 30 minutes. Cool the liquid, remove the shells, and your liquid soap is ready! Storing the liquid in an air tight container helps it to keep longer. Because there are no added chemicals in soap nuts liquid, it can go bad after some time, depending on the storing conditions. You can use this liquid for washing the dishes or even use 3 tbsp for a large load of laundry.

The liquid soap from the soap nuts can be used for many purposes. It can be used as a shampoo, car wash, pet shampoo or anything that you wash with liquid soap or detergents.

You can also use your soap nuts liquid for cleaning and purifying the fruits and vegetables that you eat.
I'm not an environmentalist by any stretch of the imagination, but I do consider the impact of what I am doing has on the environment. That is why when my wife started using Soap Nuts as our household cleaner, it sparked my curiosity to learn more.

What are Soap Nuts?

Soap Nuts are actually not nuts at all. They are berries (also known as Soap Berries) that grow on trees in India and Nepal. There are two main varieties of Soap Nuts: sapindus trifoliatus (The Small Soap Nut) and sapindus mukorossi (The Large Soap Nut). The Large Soap Nut is the most commonly used in cleaning (probably due to its size and ease of harvesting), but both varieties are quite effective.

How do Soap Nuts Work as a Detergent?

Soap Nuts contain large quantities of saponin in their shells, which acts as a natural, gentle detergent when it comes into contact with water. Without added chemicals, fragrances or dyes, Soap Nuts are safe and gentle for handwashing delicates, yet tough enough for regular laundry. They will leave your laundry soft, clean and fragrance free, without the use of fabric softeners.

Will Soap Nuts Clean Difficult Items?

Yes and No. Soap Nuts are one of the best detergents out there to get rid of bad odors. Musty towels and wash cloths, even cloth diapers, come out smelling fresh and new. When it comes to stubborn stains, though, such as blood and red wine, you will want to use a stain remover to help the cleaning process.

What About My Allergies to Soap?

Most allergic reactions to soap are due to added chemicals and fragrance. Soap Nuts are naturally grown and chemical free. When we began using soap nuts for our laundry detergent, the eczema which I had across my chest and belly cleared up and has been gone now for 6 months. Soap Nuts are 100% non-allergenic.

How do I use Soap Nuts in my Laundry?

For Laundry Detergent, you can use Soap Nuts one of two ways:

1. Toss 2 or 3 Soap Nuts in a small Muslim bag (provided with most Soap Nuts orders) and throw it in with your laundry. (Make sure that you take the soap nuts out before putting your clothes in the dryer). The nuts will do 3 or 4 loads.

2. Boil 100 g of Soap Nuts in 12 cups (3L) of water for 30 minutes. The liquid you have is now a concentrated, chemical free detergent. The leftover shells can be placed in your compost. Use 3 Tbsp or 45 ml of this detergent with each load of laundry. This allows you to do approximately 60 loads of laundry. Not bad for under $10!

Can Soap Nuts be used for More Than Just Laundry Detergent?

Yes. Soap Nuts can be used, in the liquid form, for cleaning just about anything. From dish washer soap, to window and glass cleaner, to repairing oily or dry hair, Soap Nuts are a multi-purpose cleaner. For more information on particular applications visit http://SoapNuts.Wordpress.com

The End Product Still Goes Down the Drain. Does That Hurt the Environment?

No. Soap nuts are antimicrobial. This means that they actually help in breaking down the grey water in the septic system. Also, you do not have to do a rinse cycle when you do your laundry with soap nuts. This can save gallons of water every wash cycle. Don't worry, though; if you forget to stop your machine before the rinse cycle the Soap Nuts are just as effective. The amount of saponin left in the rinse cycle will just leave your clothes feeling soft.

Soap Nuts are a Win-Win Situation

With great cleaning power, no harmful chemicals, and prices that rival any other detergents, Soap Nuts are one of the best cleaning agents you can buy.

For more information on Soap Nuts and pricing, visit http://Stores.HotterThanHealth.com/Storefront.bok <bio> http://Stores.HotterThanHealth.com/StoreFront.bok </bio>

Chances are you know about following the how to clean instructions on labels that are sewn into your cloths? But what if you spill wine, or find that you have a nasty rust stain on your new blouse or shirt?

The first thought that may enter your mind, can I or can't I use bleach safely? Labels at best tell you weather its safe to wash or dry clean only. Sometimes a label will mention if it's safe to use bleach or not. But much of the time there is no mention of bleach, or weather it can be used when laundering? Many of today newer fabrics, including colored fabrics, need bleach as well as detergent to help keep them clean, and free of stains.

A good tip to follow: When to use bleach? When the label doesn't mention bleaching or says bleach when needed, you can safely use chlorine or non-chlorine bleach on the article of clothing, as a rule.

Now, what about stains that bleach just won't get out or the fabric won't tolerate bleach? I have listed some stain removal tips on common substances that as a rule are very hard to get out. Please keep in mind all of these stain removal tips work better if the garment is tended to quickly, without the stain having time to set, and dry. Depending how bad the stain is will determine the number of times the stain treatment may have to be repeated.

1. Wine:

Treat stain promptly. Apply a mixture of laundry detergent and glycerin, sponge in, leave in for a few minutes; sponge the stain with cool water. If persists repeat.

2. Grass or foliage:

Sponge the stain with rubbing alcohol. Then rub laundry detergent into stain, rinse with cool water. Repeat until stain is gone. Then launder article.

3. Ink:

Apply lukewarm water and glycerin to the stain. Blot with paper towel. Repeat until stain is gone.

4. Paint:

Treat stain immediately. Wash garment immediately in warm water and detergent. If stain does not come out sponge stain with turpentine, then soak garment over night in hot water.

5. Perspiration:

Sponge the garment with ammonia. Wash in warm water. If stain is old, sponge with white vinegar, let sit 10 minutes launder in warm water.

6. Rust:

Moisten stain with water. Sprinkle stain with salt. Drip on fresh lemon juice. Dry in the sun. Then wash in warm water, and detergent.

7. Urine:

Sponge the stain with white vinegar. Wash in cold water and detergent.

8. Blood:

Soak article in cold water. For old blood stains sponge stain with ammonia, then wash with cold water and detergent.

9. Coffee and Tea:

Immediately wet stain with hot water, work in laundry detergent into stain. Wash in hot water.

10. Axle grease or oil:

Scrape as much of the oil off as you can, wet with hot water, rub in detergent. Wash in warm water.

11. Chewing gum:

Rub stain with an ice cube .Scrape gum off with dull kitchen knife. Wash in detergent.

12. Cosmetics and crayon:

Apply liquid soap and rub into stain. Rinse thoroughly. For last trace of stain sponge stain with a mixture of liquid soap and ammonia, then wash in warm water. <bio>For more information on stain removal, please visit the following urls: http://www.oldandsold.com/articles11/miscellaneous-recipes-3.shtml and http://www.oldandsold.com/articles23/dressing-well-119.shtml </bio>

How do I know what size costume will fit me?

There are two categories of costume sizes (adult and children) wherein you will be able to determine whether the costumes will fit you. The costume sizes available for adults include one or two fittings: standard or extra large fittings with different sizes variations. For children, costume sizes have three fittings, which are small, medium or large with different size variations appropriate within specific age limits. Always look for a costume with installed flexibility and adjustability features.

* Where can I get a custom fit costume?

You can get custom fit costumes from costume specialists or from certified costume manufacturers who will create a costume according to your specifications.

There are also manufacturers online where you can search for the right custom fit costumes you need or let them create one for you. They can design your costumes with your supervision.

* How should I wash my costume?

There are two procedures for washing a costume. Most costumes can be washed either by hand or by machine. You can use a detergent which has gentle ingredients and run the washer on the andquot;gentleandquot; cycle, with as little agitation as possible. Laundromat washers usually contain residues from bleach or chemicals from previous washes, so beware of using laundromat machines.

* What can I use to get a stain out of my costume?

Removing a stain from your costume will depend on what kind of stain it is.

- Caramel candy or hot chocolate stains can be removed by soaking it in cold water, then spotting it with a liquid laundry detergent or prewash stain remover.

- Chewing gum stains can be removed by applying ice to the gum residue and treating it with a prewash stain remover or liquid detergent with heavy duty ingredients.

- Stains from fruit can be removed by running it under cold water and washing it using a laundry detergent.

- Face makeup stains can be treated with a dry cleaning solvent or prewash stain remover.

- Nail polish stains are difficult to remove; however, keep applying a nail polish remover at intervals until the stain slowly fades.

- Candle wax stains can be removed using a dry cleaning solvent.

* How should I store my costume?

Costumes are an important tool for promotions, and they require proper storage to ensure that they will retained their original condition. The best solution is to take your costumes to a professional costume company for storage, where they can take care of it properly.

- They can immediately ship your costume to you before your specified date.

- They usually offer return shipping after using your costume in an event.

- They completely repair and clean costumes between events, if needed.

- They store costumes in dry and safe facilities.

- Your costume is fully insured for water damage, theft, or fire during its storage.

- They can bill you quarterly. <bio>Carrie Higginson is editor of http://www.CostumeHQ.com, the online guide to Costumes.
Environmental degradation has been a matter of concern for human species for over centuries now. Ecologist, biologists, and many other are engaged in a very tedious job of coming up with products which are less harmful to the human beings and the nature. Our ever increasing dependence on the technical advancements has left us on a verge of an era where, we can see our destruction owing to the fall of nature due the human atrocities.

Day in and day out, we use products which not only harm us but also our Mother Nature by disturbing the balance in the ecosystem. Water pollution, air pollution, noise pollution and so many others in the queue are a constant threat to us. A few decades back, it was established that the simple laundry detergent that we use for cleaning our clothes are actually harming us and in the long run destroying our clothes! These detergents contain harmful chemical, dyes and artificial fragrances which are left behind in the clothes even after they are washed. These harmful chemicals later percolate into our blood causing various types of diseases. When we try to see from the nature's perspective, we find that the water running away after the clothes are being washed, contain harmful chemicals which disturb the aquatic ecosystem!

However, to give a sigh of relief, there is one natural product that can not only replace these harmful chemical detergents but also protect us and also our precious nature. It is quite possible that you have not heard about this gift that nature has in its store to give us. Soap Nuts, the natural soap grows on trees and has the ability to replace the laundry detergents. Growing on a tree called Sapindus, the soap nut is found in the jungles of India, Indonesia, Nepal and other South Asian countries. They have a natural substance called Saponin which comes out when the soap nut comes in contact with water and enables water to penetrate the fabric of the cloth and clean it.

If we try to speak about the environmental aspect of the soap nut then, it is better to queue them up for an easier and clear understanding.

• 100% vegetable detergent, the soap nut is scentless and is biodegradable and does not compromise with cleaning the cloth.

• People with allergy and skin diseases are advised to use the soap nut for bathing because of the anti-microbial properties of the Saponin.

• Soap nuts are economical and do not come up with any harmful environmental wastes on decomposition.

• The presence of less chemical agents does not pollute the water courses.

These biodegradable soap nuts are non-toxic by nature and do not pose any threat to mankind even in the remote future. However, studies have revealed that the Saponin in the soap nuts can be used for other environmental benefits like combating harmful micro organisms and controlling fish population.

In short we can term soap nuts as a blessing to mankind and we must all strive for making a better use of this wonderful gift given to us by Mother Nature.<bio>http://www.BuySoapNuts.com http://www.BuySoapNuts.com/natural-laundry-detergent.html</bio>

There is nothing as pleasurable as having your own work wear or even everyday wear customized to your specifications. Whether you have a name placed or a customized dragon placed on your favorite coat, you will find that personalizing this popular type of outerwear will insure you get the most out of your coat for years to come. In addition, with customization you will find that you are selling yourself without even saying a word.

Embroidered coats are a great investment in time, money, and energies. Those designs are beautiful and sure to please, but they do so much more that just look nice. Those customized designs will be a direct reflection of your own sparkling and professional personality wherever you choose to go whether the golf course or the family reunion. Yes, you can be your best marketing tool when you decide that purchase embroidered coats is something for you.

However, after getting that intricate design, you will need to follow a few easy steps to insure the security and safety of the garment you choose.

Always wash in appropriate temperatures. Sometimes, it is easier to put everything in the wash and just click the warm water to let nature take its course. This is not a good idea for any laundry, but it is even worse if this is how you launder your embroidered coats. You invested a lot of time into getting that perfect design. Why would you lose that investment when it takes but a few seconds to turn the laundry on with the appropriate temperatures.

Always use a high grade laundry detergent. Using a low quality laundry detergent is rarely suggested unless you are laundering shop clothes, However, using that low quality detergent on your beautiful new embroidered coats is just a downright bad idea. You will be harming your investment every time you launder the outerwear. There are many high quality laundry detergents that do not cost a small fortune. Simply keep your eyes open for great deals at your local retailer.

Always separate colors and whites. Again, it is easier to toss everything dirty in a pile and grab a handful to toss in the wash. Unfortunately, this is going to mean you have colors that bleed onto your whites, and whites that will look grungy and dirty. Separating whites and colors is not difficult. In addition, you will find that when your laundry looks awesome, the extra time is time well spent indeed.

Always treat possible stains immediately. One of the problems with spots is that they can and often do turn into stains. You will find that by treating that spot as soon as possible you will not give the spot time to turn into an unattractive and appalling stain. Whether you have pants, vests, or embroidered coats, pre-treating will save you a lot of time and energy in the long run.

When it comes to your embroidered coats, you will find that a good rule of thumb is to simply use commonsense that is not always so common, and to use the best the market has to offer you in a price range you can afford.<bio>Max Johnson of The Uniform Connection click for Corporate Apparel.
Soap nuts are natural soaps that grow on trees. These are the fruits of the tree called Sapindus. They do not contain any harmful chemicals and dyes or any other artificial fragrance. Sapindus grow in warm tropical regions and are native trees of India, Indonesia, Nepal and other South East Asian countries. They are easy to use and can be trusted for long term safety from any adverse chemical reactions on the body and nature.

A comparative study of the two can give a clear picture of what soap nuts can offer you in terms of a natural detergent. To begin with we can discuss the harmful effects of the chemical detergents.

CHEMICAL DETERGENTS: These laundry detergents and chemical soaps are made up of chemicals and toxins that may have some long term affects. These effects are listed below:

• The chemicals, dyes and artificial detergents which are used in the laundry detergents are harmful and used for cleaning clothes, these chemicals and dyes stay back within the pores of the fabric even after cleansing. When these clothes are worn, these chemicals come in contact with the body skin and enter into our blood and causes adverse reactions which are harmful to human body. When these toxins are exposed to sunlight, they release vapors giving us an unhealthy air to breath.

• The laundry detergents contain enzymes which are known to cause allergies and dermatitis.

• Sodium hypochlorite presents in the detergents cause lung irritation, respiratory reactions, and cardiovascular damage and damage your eye and skin.

• Nonylphenoxy Ethoxylates present in the detergents are responsible for increase in breast and prostate cancer. This particular chemical can also cause infertility and is a key ingredient in declining amphibian population.

• The chemicals in the detergent can cause premature wear and tear of the clothes.

When compared to these drawbacks of the laundry detergents, the soap nuts are actually blessings in disguise.

SOAP NUTS: The soap nuts are natural and do not contain any harmful chemicals or toxins. They have a natural chemical called Saponin. The Saponin present in high concentration (nearly 10-18%) acts as a natural detergents when comes in contact with water.

• These are 100% organic and bio-degradable.

• They have a natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal action which destroys the harmful micro organisms.

• Due to the anti-microbial property, soap nuts are used for bathing and keep the skin smooth and germs free.

• The soap nuts do not cause any allergic affect on the skin because of the absence of enzymes and contains hypo allergic elements which prevent allergy.

• The detergent which goes out as end and waste has the antimicrobial properties which causes cleaning of the drainage and sewer system and thus becomes eco-friendly.

• This anti-microbial and hypo-allergic property of the soap nuts is good for people suffering from eczema and any other skin infection.

• They don't damage the linen fibers and protects color.

• Last but not the least they are re-usable.

Thus, when it comes to create a green and natural world, when it comes to the economical aspect, laundry detergents and the soaps are nowhere to stand in comparison to soap nuts. We need to decide.<bio>http://www.BuySoapNuts.com</bio>

If you are suffering from eczema, one of the most important things to do is to discover what may be causing your eczema, so you can do what you can to avoid future outbreaks. While eczema can be caused by a wide variety of factors, you will find the three most common causes for eczema below.

Allergies

Did you know that eczema can be caused by the foods you eat or even what type of soap or laundry detergent you use? Eczema can be a symptom of an allergic reaction. If you suspect this may be the cause for your eczema, keep a food journal for a few weeks and see if you can find a connection between your eczema outbreaks and what you eat. You should also pay attention to any changes in your skin as a result of using a new laundry detergent or soap.

Skin Irritation

If you are prone to eczema, chances are your skin is very delicate and susceptible to irritation from outside factors. Often this skin irritation will also bring on an episode of eczema. The irritation can be caused by anything from rough clothing and towels, to harsh soaps and even extreme heat or cold. Sweating is also one of the known causes for eczema. Avoid wearing itchy sweaters and other rough clothing. Use a soft towel and pat yourself dry after a shower. Stay away from hot baths or showers and only use mild soaps and cleansers.

Stress

Many people experience eczema outbreaks when they are stressed out. There are two ways to tackle this issue. The best way would be of course to get rid of anything that is causing you anxiety and stress. That's obviously not always possible, but take a good look at your life and how you could minimize some of that stress. Are there tasks you could outsource? Maybe it is time to find a less stressful job or get out of a relationship.

When you can't get rid of the things that stress you out, learn to manage the stress better and also learn how to relax. Mediation is a very effective way to manage your stress levels. You can start with some simple breathing exercises and then move on to more advanced meditation techniques. Something as simple as taking a warm bath or going for a walk can do wonders as well to prevent future eczema outbreaks by reducing stress. <bio>To learn more about the causes of eczema as well as treatment options currently available visit http://www.eczematruth.com </bio>

Laundry is something we all must do, but most of us don't really like doing, laundry duty, or laundry day is something most of us prefer to avoid whenever we can. You will be surprised to learn that laundry is one of the main causes of disorder and mess around the house, laundry that is not taken care of can sometimes be a burden on all family members.

How many times did you want to explain to one of your family members that the laundry does not end its life when simply inserted into the laundry basket, and how many times you simply asked that the used clothes be properly places in the laundry basket?. There is one big secret on laundry management and that is keeping it tidy and in order all the time, and using as many things as you possibly can to help you do that.

A wicker laundry basket is one of the classical and simplest things you can get, it looks great, and it is easy to move around from place to place. A wicker laundry basket is what most people use to hold their laundry until it is done and than they use it again when they need to put order in the laundry itself.

When a laundry basket is full it can weight much more than what you think it can, if you want to make your life a little easier you will get a wicker made basket, wicker is, by nature a light material, it is also very durable, so you don't have to worry about the basket falling apart after a short time.

Using a wicker made basket you will have a woven laundry basket that provides proper airing and ventilation for the laundry, and a stylish laundry basket that would not ruin the overall look of your laundry room or bathroom, in fact wicker is one thing that can fit into almost any design and fit in with many different kind of furniture. Wicker is woven from a variety of vines, grasses, and other plants to make a strong, sturdy material for furniture. The wicker laundry basket is strong and sturdy enough to carry several pounds of soiled clothing.

The only thing you need to remember about a wicker laundry basket is that you should try and avoid placing moist clothes in the basket, wicker is not very good with moisture and the result may be that the wicker strands get moist and lose their grip on each other, losing the hold of the whole basket and come apart, this is something that is relatively easy to avoid and important to remember, if you could avoid that you will probably be able to use your wicket laundry basket for a long while.

When shopping for a wicker basket try and think about the amount of clothes you use each time, since the wicker laundry baskets can hold large amount of clothes you can fit the size to your needs, you can also look around for the kind of color and design that you want because there is a huge selection in wicker furniture and design. <bio>Daniel Roshard is a designer fascinated by garden architecture, Wicker Furniture and Wicker art has long been a subject of his interst, he know writes wicker furniture buying tips and advice for http://outdoorwicker.zupatips.com/ for http://www.zupatips.com </bio>

Sometimes I get really tired of spending money on certain products to get rid of stains or even to help make my clothes soft and ironing.

It's a never ending battle keeping up with all the "stuff" you have to buy. Now there are stain pens and cloths, special softners and odor removers for your wash, etc, etc.

All of it is just a way to get your money while most of it is not necessary. I can show you many ways to take care of these "problems" and save your money for something better! You won't believe some of the things you are going to learn. Sit back and enjoy!

OK, lets get started and look at some Home Remedies for Stains that will save you money:

Blood - Pour hydrogen peroxide over the stain. It will bubble up like it does with a cut on your skin, which this is what you want it to do. Rub it around then rinse with cold water. Add more peroxide if necessary. This works on colored or white clothes.

Also, you can sprinkle unseasoned meat tenderizer on the blood stain. This will digest the protein in the blood, which helps eliminate it.

In addition, you can soak the garment in lukewarm ammonia water, 3 Tbs. per gallon, then rinse.

For another way, make a paste of cornstarch mixed with cold water. Cover the spot completely with the cornstarch paste and rub it gently into the fabric. Put the garment in a sunny location to dry. Once dry, brush off the remaining residue. If this doesn't completely remove the stain, repeat the process.

Ball point pen- Spray the stain with hairspray then blot with a clean cloth. Nail polish remover will work on some fabrics to remove ink, but first check to see if it's safe for the fabric.

Candle wax or Crayon- Scrape off as much as possible, first. Place a paper towel or white cloth on either side of the material around the stain. Iron it on low to medium setting. The wax should lift off on the towel. Rub a mixture of liquid detergent and water on any remaining stain, rinse, then wash as usual.

Chewing Gum- Rub with ice, then srape off as much as possible. The ice hardens the gum. You can also put the garment in the freezer then scrape. Rub a little prewash or liquid detergent on area, after gum is removed, then wash as usual.

Chocolate-Use a little ammonia or prewash, then rinse well with cold water.

Coffee- Soak stain in cold water as soon as possible. Depending on the fabric you can use a non-chlorine bleach to remove it in the wash.

Glue- If dried try to scrape off as much as possible, first. Soak a cloth or rag in white vinegar then dab on glue spot to saturate and loosen.

Grass- Presoak in hydrogen peroxide then wash as usual. On acetate or colored fabrics use 1 part rubbing alcohol to 2 parts water.

Grease- Use baby powder to absorb as much of the grease as poosible. Also, you can place the stain face down on a paper towel and stroke the backside with dry-cleaning solvent on a clean white cloth. Dampen with water then rub with shampoo or bar soap.

Lipstick-petroleum jelly is great for removing lipstick stains. If that doesn't work rub a little shortening in with it and wash as normal.

Mildew- Lemon juice or white vinegar and salt work wonders together. Presoak garment in the mixture then place out in the sun. Wash separately from other clothes.

Mustard - Apply glycerin to the stain and let soak for 30 minutes. The larger and darker the stain the longer it will need to soak. Rub the glycerin in thoroughly then apply a good laundry spot remover. Wash as usual. Using white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide is a much easier choice, then wash as usual.

Paint- For oil-based; sponge with turpentine, blotting with a clean rag to prevent the paint from spreading. For water-based; srape off any excess then wash a normal in hottest water possible.

Perspiration- With new stains sponge on ammonia; for old stains sponge on vinegar. Rinse with cool water then wash in hottest water possible for fabric.

Soak the garment in salt water before washing to remove perspiration stains.

Rust - For white clothing pour lemon juice and salt on the stain then let it sit in the sun for a few hours. If the clothing is colored pour on the lemon juice then sprinkle cream of tarter on the area and rinse in hot water.

Salad dressing - You may not believe this, but WD-40® will remove a greasy stain. Place a cloth under the stain then spray it with the WD-40® and let soak. Pour liquid dishwashing detergent on the grease (grease removes grease). Work in thoroughly without rubbing. Wash garment as normal.

Soft Drinks- Use cold water and rubbing alcohol immediately to sponge on stain.

Soiled Shirt Collars- Rub shampoo, made to remove body oils, into the collar before washing.

Tomato or Tomato sauce- To remove stains from tomatoes or tomato sauce, spray some WD-40® directly on the spot, wait a couple of minutes, and wash as usual.

Urine- Immediately blot spot with a solution of white vinegar and water. Then wash.

Wine- Pour club soda on the stain right away. For more stubborn stains, use a paste of dishwashing detergent and water. Scrub and wash in hottest water possible. Sprinkle salt on tablecloths to remove stain.

Most all of these solutions have been tried and tested. Always remember to treat a stain before you wash and dry it in the dryer. Once your stained garment has been through a dryer it more than likely set in for good.<bio>Be sure to check out the ways you can use hydrogen peroxide. Time and again we also keep trying newer stuff to be up-to-date when it comes to clean surroundings. All these items are a must in our monthly grocery shopping. This is what we do to make sure our homes are germ free. But do all these really perform to the task? Do these products make sure that your kids are protected from harm as much as possible? Not at all!

This is the time to break the myth that buying expensive synthetic detergents and cleaners are a guarantee for a clean germ free home. Instead it is quite the opposite. When you are buying these synthetic products you are actually opening doors to various harmful chemicals. These are harsh and abrasive for our skin as well as bad for our general health. These toxics become a part of your everyday life and also pave path for allergies, infections and rashes of various kinds. Imagine these chemicals on the floor of your child's play area or on your kitchen shelves. The thought is not a happy one.

But now is the time to change all this. How would you react if something gives you a clean germ free home without harming your loved ones? Yes there are alternatives. Nature has gives us plenty of options to choose from. All these are easily available, totally natural, great for cleaning and entirely devoid of any harmful chemicals.
Here is a look at some of the popular ones:

1. Soap nuts: These wondrous fruits grow naturally on trees, are dried and can be used as great cleaning agents. They have been used for centuries in places like India and Indonesia. They can act as a revolutionary change to your harmful chemical laden cleaners. Just 2-3 wrapped in a porous bag help you clean anything and everything. They are like the soap we use but only much safer and healthy.

2. White Vinegar: Just put vinegar on grease, stains, wax build-ups and mildew and see it work wonders. It also helps getting rid of bad odors.

3.Baking soda: This has amazing properties of cleaning as well as softening water.

4. Washing Soda: helps removing stains, cleaning tiles, sinks, tubs and also softens water. However it should not be used on aluminum.

5. Lemon: you want to get rid of household bacteria? Just sprinkle a bit of lemon juice and it will be highly effective.

6. Lemon + Vegetable oil: combine these two to make your wooden furniture sparkling.

Other important products that may help you are Borax, Isopropyl Alcohol (very effective disinfectant), Citrus Solvent (effective on oil and grease) and Cornstarch (for windows, rugs, polish furniture).

These are just to name a few. You can find numerous uses and advantages of these natural wonders. The best one being their contribution in preserving the environment. Just incorporate these in your house cleaning regime and you will never be worrying again. You will have a home that is not just germ free but chemical free as well.<bio>http://www.BuySoapNuts.com http://www.BUySoapNuts.com/natural-laundry-detergent.html</bio>

Laundry baskets can come in extremely useful and they can make washing your clothes an awful lot simpler. Try and purchase more than one in order to keep the best possible order around the home.

Washing your clothes is a chore which needs doing frequently. It is also a chore which not many people enjoy doing and it is something that can be extremely time consuming too. However there are things which can help you to organize the washing a little bit better and one of those things includes a laundry basket.

Why Two Laundry Baskets Are Often Better Than One

Whilst one laundry basket can help to keep things a little tidier, often it can become overflowing. This then makes washing seem a little more daunting and o by having more than one basket you are allowing yourself to be extremely organized and washing will not seem as hard work as it could have been.

When purchasing laundry baskets, wicker ones tend to be extremely popular. They are light to carry and they come in a variety of different styles too. You can use a different laundry basket for different purposes. For example, you could have one basket for white washing, one for dark washing and one for bright colors. That way you know exactly what you are doing and you do not have to spend as long sorting through everything.

If you would prefer ultimate convenience then the best answer is a collapsible laundry basket. This would be ideal in places such as the kitchen and the bathroom as you can place towels and cloths etc in them and because they are not always full you can easily collapse them down and use them whenever they are needed to save space.

Finally you should have a separate basket, perhaps a plastic one, for collecting the laundry to do a wash. By collecting one plastic basket full of washing you know that you can wash that little bit of washing, dry it, hang it up and then move onto the next without having any dirty clothing on the floor. It works well and it certainly saves a lot of time and hassle.

Overall this system would work particularly well for families and people who have an awful lot of washing to do. It does not take much effort to put the right colored washing into the right laundry basket and it keeps the home looking a lot more organized too. <bio>Adam Peters is a freelance writer for http://www.home-decorating-reviews.com .
Plastic or magnetic personalized memoboards are a great idea for anyone that feels their memory is a bit off. Even if you have a great memory there are simply times when you need a little help remembering something and that is when memory boards come in handy, or memory "memoboards".

If you find you are too busy during the day to remember to check your messages or take a shower even, you may be in the market for a customized memoboard. You don't have to pay a fortune, because for the most part you can buy promotional memoboards from about any retailer for pennies on the dollar. Memoboards alone are not really interesting, but what you can DO with them is.

Using Memoboards Wisely

Most people associate memoboards with school or with work. Corporate memoboards for example are commonly found in board rooms where people remember sitting for long hours in boring meetings talking about things like budget constraints. Some people associate customized memoboards with their elementary school years. How can you forget your teacher writing down your assignments on a classic memoboard?

Today you can use printed memoboards or personalized memoboards in your very own home. Do you need to write down your homework or plan a corporate meeting to take advantage of them? No, you do not. There are many ways you can take advantage of memoboards wisely without having to think of them as boring task managers.

(although you will use them to manage your tasks)

Consider magnetic memoboards for example. You can buy a printed memoboard for the kitchen with the label "kitchen" printed on it. Place this on your refrigerator to keep a running list of the groceries you need going. That way you will never have to try to remember what it is you need when the time comes to shop, and you will always have a head's up when the time gets close to think about grocery shopping.

You can do the same for the laundry room, except substitute the title "laundry" for "kitchen". Laundry needs management just as much as a kitchen does. You can keep track of the white, colors, kid's clothes or linens you do weekly. Find out just how much you spend in laundry detergent or how much laundry you do weekly.

Keeping Kids Organized

One of the best purposes for a personalized memoboard if you are a parent is as a chore list. You can have kids write down their chores on a chore board and keep track of their progress. This is a great idea for kids once they get to be in middle school. Most kids love to take charge of their own progress toward their goals, and having a customized memoboard for each child will allow them to do so. You can even have them chart their progress toward completing their chores each week and tally their funds or the rewards they make on a customized "reward" memoboard if you like. As you can see, having a personalized memoboard is a lot funner than it may at first seem.<bio>Miles Lovegrove is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of Promotional Memoboards and other Promotional Products at www.fluidbranding.com.
Many household products can function well in areas quite different from their initial intended uses. Here are a few examples:

Icy Steps? If you live in an area that freezes during the winter, here's a tip for keeping your front steps from getting icy. Just take a bowl of hot water, add a few drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid to it. Once you've poured that mixture over the steps, they won't freeze again. (Of course, this trick may work with other dishwashing liquids, as well. You'll need to do some experimenting to find that out for yourself.)

Is your roof growing? Sprinkling powdered laundry detergent on your roof can kill moss, but it won't kill other things, even when the next rain leeches it down the downspout during the next summer shower. If you happen to see bubbling at the bottom of your downspouts, don't panic. It's just the detergent being washed off the roof, and it's generally harmless to the environment.

Budding Artists? If your children have decided to use the bedroom walls to create their latest crayon masterpieces, you'll get excellent results by dipping a damp rag into baking soda and then using that mixture to scrub it off. It won't be easy, but you can do it--assuming you're willing to work at it--and it's cheaper than repainting the room.

Along those same lines, if your kids should use appliances or kitchen countertops as canvases for artwork instead of their bedroom walls, and their medium of choice is permanent marker, you'll find that dipping a paper towel in rubbing alcohol will take it off. Like the walls, this mixture needs to be combined with a liberal dose of elbow grease.

Sticky Price Tags? Another commercial product that's found in most people's homes, WD-40, can serve double duty as a cleaner, as well. It can be used it to remove the pesky glue that's so hard to get off when you peel labels or price tags off of plastic items. Just spray it on and rub it back off. It works like a charm, without harming the plastic itself.

Streaky Windows? Here's a tip for washing windows: if you're washing both the inside and outside, try using vertical strokes for one side of the window and horizontal ones for the other. That way, you'll instantly be able to tell which side a streak is one. Instead of expensive window cleaners, you can use vinegar for outside windows. Using old sheets of newspaper also can minimize streaking. When you decide to tackle the window washing chore, do it on a cloudy day. You'll experience less streaking and less frustration, because the windows won't dry as quickly when the sun isn't blazing down.

Copyright © 2006 Jeanette J.
Diapers made of cloth are a reasonably priced method to start your small kid on with potty training. Diapers that are disposable are uncomplicated and trouble free, nevertheless they get to be a lot costly over the two, three, four or possibly even five years when your kid could do with diapers. Diapers made of cloth are similarly easy to work with.

Quantity needed

The foremost thing to find out is "the number of diapers I will need". This will count on how frequently your kid has to be cleaned up and how frequently you would like to wash the diapers. You would have to multiply how frequently you would like to clean the diapers by the number of times in a single day you usually have to clean up your kid. You certainly would want five to ten diapers as a stockpile.

The extra supplies

Once you have got the quantity of diapers that you would require, a number of additional provisions such as covers and pins will be desirable. They both can be purchased where diapers are put up for sale. You can make use of the 'plastic pants' as wraps or purchase special wraps sold in online stores. You would require a location to pile up the dirty diapers as well. Nearly all parents make use of a diaper container, but a few of them fill up the washer and put every one of the diapers inside the washer and simply operate the machine at the ending of every day.

Diaper container

There are 2 kinds of diaper containers that you can make use of - a dry container and a wet container.

A dry container is simply a diaper container that is vacant. You can simply put your dirty diapers inside the container. Nearly all parents will put in diapers along with BM inside the lavatory or the basin prior to putting in the container. You can make use of baking soda in order to help out with the stench. The wet technique consists of a vinegar and water combination to counterbalance the ammonia. You would prefer to look for the combination that is just perfect for you.

Cleansing

You can cleanse diapers in the similar detergent you make use of for your kid's laundry. Make use of something that is mild on your kid's skin. You should cleanse using hot water and rinse using cold water. Do not make use of liquid cloth softener. It would hinder with the diaper's capacity to soak up. Do not make use of bleach.

If there are marks that you would like to make an effort and get rid off, hang up the diapers in the sunshine. You may dry diapers made of cloth in the dryer. Never make use of a cloth softener dryer sheet. Just like liquid cloth softener, it would minimize the soaking up of the fabric. You would also desire to stay away from Ivory Snow and Deft for cleansing the diapers made of cloth. Despite the fact that these are good for the baby's clothes, yet they consist of fabric softeners.

Best of luck for your new journey.
The fragrance of lemon has been used in dish soaps, laundry detergents and even in household cleaners. Generally lemon fragrance is thought to be an indication that the dishes or clothes have been cleansed of the dirt recently. There are a number of other citrus fruits, but amazing to notice that it has taken so long for other fragrances to catch up.

Recently we got a few lemon and orange flavored toothpaste tubes. Body Shoppe, the joint famous for their aromatic oils, have started offering Satsuma oil, lotion and shower gel and that too with oozing fresh orange fragrance.

Orange scent is equally appealing as lemon to me. Lemon in reality is sour to taste and artificial lemon tang is not at all comparable to the natural tang. As far as orange fragrance is concerned its second only to those fleshy, ripe and revitalizing fruits brought directly from Florida groves.

Given a choice, I would definitely choose to have my laundry and home emit the fragrance of orange and have no second thoughts about it.

Only if the aroma and essence of lemon improves, it would be more appealing again. But as of now the orange tang and aroma is the finest and to me it gets the better of lemon's flavor and scent. Here is a great gardening related site http://www.verygreenthumb.com.

As a child, my most wanted candy was the one called Fruitella. You could have strawberry candy or a peach candy or the juicy orange flavored candy. It felt seriously divine to have these candies.

Now as a grown up, I always am on the search for that fresh orange aroma. But I always end up buying one more lemon aroma dish soap, laundry detergent, window cleaner and even toothpaste. (Orange is hard to procure, appears to be selling like hot cakes!).

For once, we were lucky to have found an orange scented bathroom spray and I ensure that I have a good stash of orange body oil. But my laundry soap has the lemon scent, I add lemon essence to chicken and you always find a lemon kind under the sink in kitchen.

Will grapefruit or even lime ever be popular as stimulating fragrances and essence? Orange has gradually become the choice of many manufacturers and marketers, thus capturing a miniscule part of lemon market. I hope the future will definitely provide us with aroma of fruits like watermelon, grape and may be even pomegranate!!! Meanwhile I buy orange whenever available and have nothing to choose from but lemon. Its time now to oust lemon dominance as the only fresh fragrance in the market, isn't it? <bio>Melissa loves working for: http://www.sdmdirectory.com http://www.massreleases.com </bio>
