How does one actually become a law enforcement helicopter of fixed wing pilot? This is a question asked by many young people who one day aspire to be a pilot, or more specifically a law enforcement pilot. The standard answer you will hear, is that most police agencies "hire their pilots from within." This is true for the most part but let's take a closer look at this possible career choice. Another related question I see often is how much do law enforcement pilots make?

Indeed there are some agencies who hire civilian pilots. We will take a closer look at this in a future article.

First let's look at where most of the law enforcment pilots are found in the United States. By far the vast majority are found in state and local law enforcement agencies. In other words your local police and sheriff's department, or your state highway patrol. Yes there are a number of federal agencies who employee pilots, but the vast majority are local law enforcement agencies.

Take LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) for example. They operate approximately 18 aircraft, most of which are helicopters, and have somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 people assigned to their aviation unit. They are one of the largest law enforcement aviation units in the country, if not the largest.

I probably don't have to tell you that the helicopter dominates the law enforcement aircraft inventory, though many agencies will operate one or two fixed wing aircraft for prisoner transports and surveillance operations. So the majority of law enforcement pilots are helicopter pilots.

The vast majority of agencies do in fact take their sworn officers and deputies, and either train them in house, or send them to flight school to obtain their helicopter pilot license. Why do they do it this way instead of just hiring people who are already pilots? Well I can't answer for every agency, but suffice it to say that the majority do, do it this way and they have for many years.

So how long would you have to spend on the ground as a patrol officer before being able to transfer into a law enforcement air unit? This varies significantly from agency to agency. There is usually a minimum amount of time, such as 2 or 4 years, and then there is the actual time and experience you will need in order to be competetive for such a position. I know of some law enforcement officers who were able to transfer into their air units with as little as 5 or 6 years on the department.

About that pay. Most law enforcement pilots do receive a premium pay for being a pilot in the air unit. However, all you really need to do is look at the salary of a law enforcement officer on a large department with about 10 years on. This will give you a good idea of what a law enforcement pilot makes. Depending on the part of the country I would estimate most law enforcement pilots are making $60,000 to $70,000 at a minimum. Some make much more. Ultimately, law enforcement and law enforcement pilot are excellent and rewarding career choices.<bio>Darryl Kimball is a law enforcment helicopter pilot with a large Southern California Sheriff's Department.
Certificates in general give you a fast and quick way to get into any profession or help you specialize in your current profession. You can get a certificate in the numerous criminal justice professions.

There are two types of certificate one can get. One is an entry level certificate. This certificate allows you to get entry level positions in your profession. The other certificate is a professional certificate. This certificate is for those already in a profession that want to specialize in certain area of the profession. This is more like continuing education for the professional. The easiest way to explain this is through the examples presented below.

One example is someone who gets an entry level certificate in paralegal studies. This certificate allows you to get entry level job as a legal assistant in law firms or law department of organizations.

On the other hand, a professional in the criminal justice field can get a certificate in paralegal studies. This certificate is a form of professional studies that helps keep them current in the profession. It also helps him or her get more specialized training as paralegal. The hope is that such specialization will help in career advancement.

Another example is someone who gets an entry level certificate in law enforcement. This certificate will enable the person get entry level position in police departments or other law enforcement organizations.

On the other hand, a law enforcement professional can get a certificate to help him or her specialize in an area of law enforcement. It could a certificate that helps him or her perform better as an investigator. This type of law enforcement certificate will strictly focus on investigative skills. The person doing this is again hoping this certificate will help their career advancement.

A final example is an entry level certificate in homeland security. This person will acquire the skills to handle basic homeland security duties. The person will be employed by local, state, or federal homeland security organizations.

On the other hand, a homeland security specialist can get certificate in homeland security that helps him or her perform their job better. This type of certificate could be in the area of counter terrorism. This will keep them in the cutting edge of counter terrorism and help him or her stay ahead of terrorists. Again, the idea here is to keep them relevant in the profession, with the hope that this relevancy will help their career advancement.

Any way you look at it, a certificate in criminal justice can only help the individual that acquires it. An entry level one helps one get a job and a foot in the door of the profession. This foot in the door leads to paychecks. A professional certificate helps one specialize. This specialization leads to career advancement and more money.

I have only given a few examples of certificates in criminal justice. There are a lot more. Covering all of them is beyond what I can do in this short article. If you are interested in seeing more examples, I urge you to do more reading on it. You can do this by visiting websites that deal with the subject in more detail.

Note: You are free to reprint or republish this article.
In recent years, dogs have become an intricate part of law enforcement. Dog training for law enforcement purposes is critical in preparing them for their role in law enforcement. This type of training will have your canine performing more then

basic guard duties, security, protection or agility exercises. In law enforcement your k9 duties are very clear, and the training program is designed to assist them in performing their duties to their best ability. All k-9 breeds have a unique sense of smell; dog training can hone those skills to find anyone whether it is a hundred yards away or in a place that no one would think to look.

Police canine training is very rigid because the dogs will be dealing with life and death situations. They are trained to find

evidence at a crime scene, or to find lost or missing people miles away from where they were last seen. Dog training also teaches the dogs how to handle any type of disturbance including

domestic.

There are many duties that a police dog must perform to be a viable part of police units, and the right training is critical.

One of the toughest duties on a police dog is a search and rescue mission. Another of their most dangerous duties is the detection of drugs and explosive equipment. These two situations require that the police dog be highly trained and responsive to voice commands. This would also include the proper level of obedience so the canine barks, bites and will attack only when instructed and not because of a hostile situation. Professional law enforcement trainers from the top training schools believe that one police dog is equal to ten policemen.

The key to training a police dog effectively is that the dog and the handler must be compatible. If there is no chemistry between them, then the training will not be effective. A handler must connect with the dog, using a mix psychology, sternness, and understanding. The handler is the person who trains the dog; he or she also will be on duty with the dog so establishing trust is very important.

When a dog is being trained, a bond develops between handler and dog that reinforces the behavior that is to be expected from the dog. Some professionals disagree on the issue of using a collar during certain phases of the training. Whether or not this is true about the issue of using collars during training an agreed issue is that the handler must be able to see the potential that the dog has and what its strong traits are and work to develop them. Using positive reinforcement will make sure that the dog understands what the handler wants.

Dog training is not difficult if you understand your dog. In fact as you constantly and consistently vest time and energy into the training of your canine it will pay off. By constantly

rewarding him or her for behaving correctly it will encourage the dog to continue striving for excellence.

There are other aspects of dog training as well; these include food, exercise and protecting them from danger while training. By providing a well-rounded training program, you will have a police dog that will be highly motivated to doing his or her job because they have a natural instinct to please their owners. When you follow a dog-training plan, you are nurturing your dog's natural abilities to become the best. <bio>Orlando Smith makes it easy to perform effective dog training, quickly and easily.
Every year in the United States, more than 800 people are killed and more than 200,000 injured in accidents involving red light running. Of these casualties, many are passengers in other vehicles or are hapless pedestrians. Accidents engendered by red light running reach astonishing proportions, too, amounting to more than $150 billion in medical and emergency bills, productivity loss, and property destruction.

With such staggering figures, what have many cities opted to do? They set up photo enforcement.

How Photo Enforcement Works Photo enforcement, while relatively new in the United States, has been in use in Europe and Australia for two decades. This is how it works. Cameras, positioned on a pole about 12 feet high and roughly 80 feet behind the intersection, are connected to wire sensors. These sensors are placed into cuts in the roadway. It is through these wires that electricity travels, creating an electromagnetic field as it does so. Vehicles running over the wire create an interference in the electromagnetic field, thereby triggering the camera.

How do cameras determine which cars and drivers to take pictures of? Another network of wires is set up a few feet away from cameras. These determine the speed of the vehicle crossing the red light. Because these cameras have viewfinders that cover entire intersections, two photos are taken once the sensors are triggered. The first photo shows the vehicle before it enters the intersection. The second shows the vehicle in the intersection. In both photographs, the red light is visible.

Image Capture: During and After Automated speed enforcement operate on pre-determined speed thresholds, 11 miles per hour over the posted speed limit, for example. Thus, it only captures images of vehicles moving at or exceeding the established speed threshold. When violations occur, the system captures not only the images of the vehicle and the driver, but also the vehicle's speed data. These are then sent to authorized personnel who review the vehicle's registration information. The resulting citations are sent to the vehicle's registered owner through the mail.

Photo Enforcement: Advantages Perhaps the biggest advantage of photo enforcement is that it is the solution to limited enforcement resources. After all, there are too few traffic cops and simply too many reckless drivers. Additionally, it provides quick physical documentation of the offense and the offender, thereby minimizing red light running and its resulting accidents. Photo enforcement is said to have a behavior modification effect on drivers. Once drivers see red light cameras, they slow down and drive more carefully.

Photo Enforcement: Disadvantages Photo enforcement, however, is not without its flaws. In fact, its most vehement detractors are drivers who claim that photo enforcement isn't a tool for safety, but for moneymaking. For drivers, the system's worst flaw is that it does not make distinctions between vehicle owner and driver. It doesn't matter who sped through a red light; the vehicle's owner will get the citation. Another disadvantage is the time lag between infractions and citations. A third comes in the form of prohibitive infrastructure and installment costs. In relation to this, the difficulty in selecting intersections and equipment suppliers may be a big source of headache, too. The final and the biggest drawback to photo enforcement, however, is that it is always coupled with legislative issues. In some states, even, photo enforcement has been declared illegal.

Without public and political support, photo enforcement will never even see the green light in other American states. Clearly, the system has a long way to go before it becomes the unanimously accepted solution to the problem of red light running. <bio>Do you fear the dreaded ticket in the mail from those controversial photo enforcement ( http://www.video-surveillance-guide.com/photo-enforcement-devices.htm ) cameras?
There are many people who dream of becoming crime scene investigators (CSI). Who can blame them? This job can be fun. If you don't believe me, just watch the television show, CSI: Miami.

But reality can be different. The role played by crime scene investigators on TV can be different from real life. This is why some things need to be set straight about the CSI career. This article will address the 3 things all aspiring crime scene investigators must know before they become one.

1.Those aspiring to be crime scene investigators must know that not all law enforcement agencies will hire a civilian CSI. There are various reasons for this.

One of the reasons is that the agency may not be big enough to dedicate a person to doing this job. So what these types of agencies do is have a police officer to play the role of CSI. This way, the officer can be doing other things when he or she is not collecting crime scene evidence.

Another reason is that the budget is just not there to support the position of a CSI. Like everything else in life, money is also an issue for law enforcement agencies. They have budgets and limited resources they have to live under. What these law enforcement agencies do when there is a crime is request for the help of a CSI from other friendly law enforcement agencies. This way, they save the cost of having a CSI on staff.

2.A CSI must be available to work 24/7. Crime has no appointed time. It can happen any minute or hour of the day. It does not know the weekend.

So, somebody who wants to work as a CSI must avail themselves at all times. You may be called in the middle of dinner or in the middle of your kid's birthday party. You have to be ready and willing to pick up and go to the crime scene.

3.In the past, most crime scene investigators were trained in-house by law enforcement agencies. Thanks to television, this is changing. You now have colleges offering CSI education. You can get anywhere from certificate to masters degree in crime scene investigation.

But keep in mind that all the education will not replace the additional training you will receive by the law enforcement agency that employs you. There is nothing like real life training and guidance from real life CSIs. But the education you get from college will definitely give you an advantage, both in getting the job and performance after you get the job.

I have covered the 3 things I believe you should know before becoming a crime scene investigator. There are of course other things you have to know. Covering every little thing is beyond what I can cover in a short article like this. I encourage you to continue to expand your knowledge if you aspire to become a CSI.

Note: You are free to reprint or republish this article.
There are several reasons for some people to contact and get the services of a private eye or private investigator. One of the most popular reasons would be to help in locating a missing or lost loved one, friend or family member.

Other reasons for seeking the services of a P.I. could be a client trying to find out if a spouse is cheating. Another one would be to lend a hand to law enforcement on some investigation or looking into business dealings that have gone bad.

Most professional private investigators that you will find are retired law enforcement officials trying out a private profession. Their experience in the police force is usually a big plus as they have more contacts and more experience in dealing with inside information for every situation.

Bigger private detective agencies usually have a large staff that can provide clients with multiple people working on individual cases at any one time. But such a service can have a considerable cost albeit they can help make the investigation proceed more efficiently. But regardless of whether a PI works alone or come from an agency, it is always wise to check out on the agency's or individual's credentials before hiring anyone.

There are opportunities available online today that will help you look for a private eye that will suit your needs. One of them is Privateeyelist, which offers a directory method in locating your ideal private investigator. A simple search in several search engines would be able to give you a lot of links to sites dedicated to investigative work as well as PI's.

Bear in mind that these services always come at a price. Most private investigators charge by the hour for their services in addition to on the job expenses and other costs. These things can add up to a bit of an amount quite quickly and must be taken into consideration when you are considering including a professional private eye for a certain job that you want done. Most modern PI's would prefer to be known as andquot;professional investigatorsandquot; instead of andquot;private investigatorsandquot; or andquot;private detectivesandquot;. This is a response to the negative and seedy image that has grown to be the perception of most people about the profession. It is also an effort for the PI's to clean up their negative image and to establish and demonstrate the industry to the people that it is a proper and also a respectable profession. <bio>Low Jeremy maintains http://private-investigator.articlesforreprint.com.
There are many people who dream of becoming DEA Agents. Who can blame them? This is an exciting and rewarding career. The fight to keep drugs off American streets is a fight many people will be glad to join.

But the dream of becoming a DEA agent can quickly die if the proper care and preparation are not taken. To help with this preparation of becoming a DEA agent, this article will discuss the 3 important things people aspiring to this noble profession must know before applying for the job.

In no particular order, they are:

1.If you are preparing to become a DEA agent, it is important that you attend the US Drug Enforcement Administration Orientation Session. This session can be attended at your local DEA field office. There, you will get a dose of what the job involves.

Sometimes people want to be something until they find out what is involved. Then, they change their mind. This orientation session will help you decide if you really want to be an agent.

In the event there is no DEA Field Office near you, you can conduct phone screening and orientation by calling the national DEA office. This way you don't waste money traveling long distance only to be disappointed.

2.You must pass the DEA Physical Task Test. The job requires people that are physically fit. The Drug Enforcement Administration makes sure you are up to the task before they hire you.

This part of the job is really up to you. If you really want the job, you will need to start getting yourself in shape. You can start small by walking and working your way up to running and lifting weight as you get fitter.

3.You should have a college degree in Criminal Justice, Police Science, or Law Enforcement. While other degrees like Accounting and Engineering qualify, there is nothing like getting a degree in a major that teaches you the basics of what you will be doing on the job.

Granted the Drug Enforcement Administration has extensive training to prepare you for the job, a degree in criminal justice, police science, or law enforcement will give you a leg up on the competition.

I have highlighted the 3 important things I believe can be your obstacle to becoming a DEA agent. There are other requirements, which I think are less important than those listed here. Covering every little requirement is beyond what I can cover in a short article like this. I wish you luck in your journey to becoming a DEA agent.

Note: You are free to reprint or republish this article.
Make sure the Shar Pei breeder you are dealing with is listed with a national breeding agency. It would be a good idea to check the information available with local law enforcement and the Better Business Bureau on your Shar Pei breeder. Always check with your vet when searching for a Shar Pei breeder.

When the time has come to get your new Shar Pei dog you will more than likely find yourself looking for a good Shar Pei breeder. Some people say they are a Shar Pei breeder but in reality they are just faking their way through it and have no idea how to properly breed and raise Shar Pei dogs. There are questions you can ask and things you can do to tell if you are dealing with a bad Shar Pei breeder or not and you should always do your research for your own good.

Always ask what national breeding registry the Shar Pei breeder is listed with. A national breeding registry will indicate what breeding standard they use and what kind of quality they look for in their dogs. If a breeder is not listed with a national breeder registry then ask why and also ask what they use for a breeding standard so you can find out how they gauge the quality of the dogs they sell.

Check with local law enforcement about the Shar Pei breeder you are considering just in case they have had any run-ins with the law in the recent past. It is always a good idea to check with law enforcement because you can never tell just by looking at someone if they are dishonest or not. Chances are that if a particular breeder has had a run in with the law then they are probably not a breeder that you want to be doing this very important business with.

Most reputable businesses are listed with the Better Business Bureau and you can do a quick internet search on the Better Business Bureau website to see if the Shar Pei breeder you are considering has ever had any complaints lodged against them regarding their business practices and if those complaints were answered. If you see a lot of business complaints then move on because you are not dealing with a real professional breeder.

As with any other situation regarding your pet your vet can be a great help in weeding out the fake Shar Pei breeder that you may be considering. Your vet can give you guidelines to use in your search and may even be able to offer an opinion or two about the breeders you are considering. Always listen to the advice of your vet, as they are just as concerned with your pet's health and well being as you are.

Finally you should talk to the breeder yourself and get a feel for how they run their business when whether or not they seem to know what they are talking about. It does not take much to realize that someone does not know their business and when you are making an important decision like deciding on a Shar Pei breeder then you need to ask a lot of tough questions. <bio>Melissa Coleman often talks to animal rescue groups, keeping them informed about proper breeding methods. You can find information on detecting fake http://www.sharpeiguide.com/Shar_pei_Breeders/index.php Shar Pei breeders in this article.
The DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) is an agency of the Justice Department. They are a federal law enforcement agency. You might see this type of law enforcement being shown on Spike TV under the title "DEA". If you get a chance, check it out. It will enlighten you about what a DEA agent does and the gritty nature of this premier unit.

The main mission of a Drug Enforcement Administration agent is to enforce the controlled substance laws and to bring to justice those who violate those laws by growing, manufacturing or distributing illicit controlled substances. There is no glamour in this type of career, but it is very rewarding to those who put their lives on the line to keep the flow of illegal drugs off the streets and out of the hands of adults and children.

What does it take to become a DEA Agent?

Those who want to apply for a position with the DEA will need to have some experience with law enforcement or the legal system. The DEA will only accept the most outstanding applicants because this agency is constantly being challenged to keep our country safe.

If you want to become a Drug Enforcement Administration agent, you will need to have a better understanding of what it takes to join this elite group. You will find that people with bachelor's or master's degree have a better chance of being considered.

Having a criminal justice degree or past experience as a police officer will give you an advantage over the other applicants. If you are fluent in another language such as Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese or Russian, then you are among the most sought after candidates.

What does it take to get a DEA Agent job?

The requirements to obtain a coveted position with the DEA are as follows. You need to be a United States citizen, you will need to be over 21 years of age but not older than 37. There will be a medical exam that includes a physical; if you have a hearing aide, it will disqualify you from the test.

There will also be a psychological and in-depth interview session. Your past drug use will need to be explained. This is not grounds for dismissal but very important because you will be given a polygraph test. You will have to take a drug test and a background investigation will need to be passed in order to gain employment with the DEA.

These tests may take up to 12 months to complete. If you pass all the required tests you will be trained for 16-weeks at the DEA training academy in Quantico, Virginia.

There you have! The only thing to add is that you start early in the application process. Give yourself at least 12 months from the date you apply to the date you will start work.

I must also add that you do more research on the DEA agent career. You need to visit websites that cover the profession in more detail.
A good place to start your search for <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/pomeranian+breeders" rel="tag">Pomeranian breeders is in the registries on the Internet. It is always a good idea to ask your vet about Pomeranian breeders and you may want to check the breeders out with local law enforcement as well. Talking to the different Pomeranian breeders is also an important step in choosing the right one.

So you and your family have talked it over and have decided it is time to get a new pet. You have also decided on not just any old pet, you and your family want a Pomeranian. The next step is to locate reputable Pomeranian breeders in your area that you can talk to and get your pet from. Take your time and do your research because a breeder is someone you will be in contact with for many years about the health of your pet.

You can start your search on the Internet by looking up the different national breeder registries that are available. You may recognize the American Kennel Club as one of the more popular registries but there are others as well. A breeder that is listed with a registry is committed to following that registry's guidelines for proper breeding. If a breeder is not listed with a registry then it is difficult to tell what standards they follow and that could be a problem.

Your vet is a great resource for information that is helpful in the choosing of any of the Pomeranian breeders you are considering. Your vet is just as involved and interested in the health of your pet as you are and they will let you know if they have any reservations about any dog you may be considering. If you do not yet have a vet then the breeder choosing process is a great time to start up a relationship with one.

If you ask the local law enforcement officials about the breeders you are considering they may have some information for you. If your local law enforcement officials have negative information about a breeder you are considering then it may be a good idea to stop considering that breeder. When it comes to decisions that impact your family there is no step too extreme so ask your local law enforcement about breeders you are considering.

A good step in choosing among prospective Pomeranian breeders is to talk to the breeders themselves and gauge their personalities. It is extremely important that you feel like you can talk to your breeder because you will be dealing with them for years to come. If something about a particular breeder strikes you as being someone you do not want to deal with then consider not buying from that breeder. It is okay to make this a very personal decision.

Choosing the right breeder can mean the difference between years of happiness with a new pet or years of the aggravation that can come from dealing with a dishonest breeder. Take your time and do your research so you know what warning signs to look for in a bad breeder and then you can avoid that breeder for the good of your future pet and for the good of your family. <bio>Rosie Allan is a member of the American Kennel Club and participates in many charitable events for local animal rescue groups.
Many individuals are interested in the position of crime scene technician and how to get a crime scene technician job. This particular law enforcement position is extremely valuable when it comes to evaluating scenes, in which a crime occurred. It involves gathering evidence from that area, collecting and evaluating evidence, and concluding what occurred at a specific time, and any potential motive associated with the scene. This type of position is often referred to as "Forensic Science".

The individuals that perform this job as professionals work in collaboration with many different law enforcement departments, as well as legal professionals, and individuals in the criminal justice system. Here, you will learn about the crime scene technician, and how to get a job in this position.

Education and Training:

There are many different ways in which an individual who is interested in becoming a crime scene technician can acquire the education and training that is necessary to perform their professional duties. Typically, one way in the educational process is attending a criminal justice academy. This type of institution is much the same as that in which law enforcement officers attend. This assists in providing an individual with the basic knowledge of law and the criminal justice system.

Another way is attending a criminal justice school. This can be done online or at a traditional school, like a four year university. Courses that should be taken include the following:

1.Criminal Law

2.Crime Scene Evidence

3.Criminal Investigations

4.Crime Scene Photography

5.Collecting Evidence

6.Evidence Analysis and Interpretation

In addition to the above, the individual who wishes to work in crime scene investigations may also need to provide proof of proficiency in the following law enforcement areas:

a. Shooting

b. Defensive Tactics

c. First Aid

d. Fingerprinting (application, techniques, and interpretation)

e. Bloodstain Analysis

f. Forensic Photography

g. Footwear Proficiency

Employment Outlook:

The employment outlook for individuals who are seeking how to get a crime scene technician job is very positive. Unfortunately, there will always be crime and many do rely heavily on computer technology to interpret results from various pieces of evidence in crime scenes. But, computer technology is not adept enough to offer the same expertise and experience as crime scene technicians have to offer.

There are a large number of crimes that are investigated by technicians who are specialized in crime scenes. Assaults, burglaries, theft, kidnappings, rapes, murders, suicides, vehicular crimes, and more are often researched by individuals in this field of law enforcement.

In addition to the large number of crimes that are researched by those in this field, there are many types of agencies that may call upon these professionals. These include those that work for labs that research crimes, state and national agencies, fire departments, hospitals, medical examiners, and even detective evidence departments.

If you are interested in how to get a crime scene technician job, the information provided here is likely to prove to be extremely beneficial. You may also want to do more research on the internet.
Are you relying on a state agency to help collect past due child support? Sometimes state agencies drag their feet, and other times they simply can't get the money. An ex-spouse may find ways to work under the table, or may disappear completely. If you are owed back support, and your state's child support enforcement agency is not pursuing your ex, and you cannot find out where he works or he is working off the books, then you need to take action.

A little detective work is in order. If you still know people who keep up with your ex, see if you can get one to tell you who he works for. Where is the job? Can you get pictures of him working? Private investigators cost money, but if you were to hire one, these would be the first questions: Where does he work? When does he work there? How much does he make? Hire the investigator for as limited a job as possible. Once the investigator finds out where the job is, you or a friend may be able to do the rest.

There are online "detective agencies" that claim they can give access to bank accounts, whereabouts, and other information. I have tried a few. The results weren't great. Remember: You can do a lot of investigating on your own and save yourself money. Keep your ears open. Mutual friends and family members are great sources of information. People love to talk. Once they are talking freely they often slip up. As with any other part of this process, this is not something where you want to use your children. However, don't close your ears to what children say. If you find out key information simply make sure you can explain how you got it in some other way. Often if you simply confirm what you know through others, this can serve as your source. You don't want to involve your children in any more conflict than you have to, and you don't want your ex blaming them for something they may not have intended to do. Deadbeat parents learn many tricks. One is to hide assets by putting them in the name of a girlfriend, new spouse, or parent. That way there is no bank account. Wages (particularly off-the-books payments) go straight into this other person's bank account. Property is in another name. Your ex may even move to another state. The traveling deadbeat is the hardest one to catch.

In any of these situations you will need hard evidence in the courtroom. Hiring a private investigator may become a necessity. There comes a point where unless you come upon a lucky lead, you will need the skills of a professional. As long as you pick the right detective, and know what you want, your money will be well spent. There are also private agencies that are devoted to support enforcement. These agencies work on a contingency fee, meaning they do not charge you unless they are successful at collecting your support. They do take a percentage of the support collected. Do your homework and be careful when selecting a service like this. Find people who have used them. Call or email these people, and ask them questions about their experience. These groups can be useful, but, as with any support agency, the more you understand about your needs and their services, the better they will do. If you go online and look up "Child Support Enforcement" on yahoo.com or google.com, you will find several agencies to choose from. <bio>Christina Rowe is the author of the best selling divorce book "Seven Secrets To A Successful Divorce-What Every Woman Needs To Know".
A background criminal report is a tool which is used by many employers, local and federal government, corporations and private individuals to protect their families, themselves and their property from the criminal element. It is generally understood, by the majority of the public, it is a simple matter to obtain this information from the local and federal government. However, that is not quite true. The purpose of this dissertation is to provide a better understanding of what may be involved.

One of the reasons people tend to believe it is a simple matter, to obtain the lawbreaking history of an individual, is due to the entertainment industry and the World Wide Web. This industry includes the movies, T.V. shows and books. The majority of these shows and books portray someone using a computer to access the internet and gaining access to some type of national database, which has a file on every lawbreaker in the United States. Frankly, that image is not quite true.

Yes! It is true the United States Government maintains a national database called the Interstate Identification Index (better known by the acronym Triple-I). And in fact the Triple-I contains information on people who have broken the law. However, the index is maintained by the F.B.I and access is limited to state and federal law enforcement agencies. It should also be understood, unless the federal, state, county and city governments have submitted the information to Triple-I, the offenders will not be in the database. Since access is limited to law enforcement, the general public must use other means at its disposal.

Background criminal reports can be found by searching federal, state, county and city records. Each of these entities may have different laws for gaining access to the records. Consequently, it may become quite complicated when multiple jurisdictions are going to have to be checked. However, there is one thing the majority of them have in common, each of these entities maintain a web site, with the criminal information, which the public can access.

To help you get an accurate background report on the individual you are investigating, there are several things that will be critical to your investigation. One of the first steps you must take is to do a thorough one on one interview with the party concerned. The absolute minimum amount of information, you should extract, is the full name, date of birth, social security number and the addresses where the party of the investigation has resided for the last seven years. This information will determine that you indeed are getting the correct information on the right person.

The next step which must be determined is if the investigating party is going to conduct the criminal records investigation or if a professional investigative agency will be utilized. Frankly, if the investigating party is pressed for time a professional agency may be the best way to go.

Once the information has been received from the investigation a determination can be made as to the character of the person being investigated. Only then will you know who you are really dealing with! <bio>Kris Rise is a professional who strongly believes in a background criminal report.
Many individuals are drawn to considering law enforcement or criminal justice as career choices. Next to psychology, most people today consider a profession in law to be one that's desirable and that offers strong job security. Colleges and campuses offering instruction in criminal justice are easy to find, but choosing to train for a criminal justice degree online may be the smarter choice, taking into consideration our technological world and its increasing need to crack down on virtual law enforcement. Receiving training in the very environment that many individuals will end up actually working in can boost appeal for prospective employers. What's more, the personal requirements needed to obtain an online degree including determination, dedication and the will to achieve, are desirable ones for criminal justice areas, portraying to potential employers an individual serious about his or her career.

An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in criminal justice can open the door to many positions in the field, such as courtroom administrator, police officer, private security officer, probation or parole officer, juvenile delinquency case manager, corrections officer, or police detective. Even the very jobs that one would think need on-site training at campuses can be a possibility via online education. Colleges can provide a solid start in enforcement positions and once an individual has completed their criminal justice degree online, he or she can certainly move on to more in-depth training to narrow down the career of their choice and receive more pertinent, specific skills. Students wanting to increase their credentials can pursue a Master's degree, which certainly makes any individual a strong contender for positions in the law enforcement industry.

A criminal justice degree can also involve other job options, such as becoming a paralegal or working in computer network security. Many enterprises and corporations look to save costs by hiring the services of paralegals or even employing a paralegal directly and having one on staff at all times. Tasks that were once thought to only involve lawyers are now being delegated more and more to paralegals, and the prospectus for employment options for this occupation is expected to rise as more businesses become savvy and seek to reduce expenses.

For network security considerations, technology and law enforcement meet head on, and skills tailor-made to deal with security breaches and cyber terrorists nearly guarantee job security in a high paying position. Insidious stealth attacks designed to bring companies crashing to their knees require highly skilled individuals with critical training toward valuable database information and protect businesses from unwanted infiltration, either by hackers, attackers or viral activity. Cyber security is claimed to be the top priority by 81% of business executives, and salaries are double what other online degrees might provide. The rewards of such a high-tech employment position and the growing demand for professionals makes this field a solid choice with strong job placement opportunities.

Online training is a good option for those individuals who need to work at their own pace or blend employment and family. The convenience of being able to earn college credits towards valuable certification, combined with pertinent instruction that rivals any education directly on site at college campuses, makes studying online an excellent option. Curriculum is offered by colleges that have a fine reputation and are recognized by employers and businesses, as well as large corporations. The business world has moved to embrace and accept technology, and also shown its approval of distance education. A criminal justice degree online is more than enough for individuals to be attractive additions to any enterprise and can provide job security in an age where turnover can be high and solid qualifications are important to professional survival. <bio>Andy West is a freelance writer for Virginia College.
Online education is one of the fastest growing ways to get a degree these days and criminal justice degrees online are some of the most popular. Experts say that part of the increased interest in criminology programs can be traced to the amazing popularity of criminal justice programs on television.

Dramas that Highlight Criminal Justice Work

While cop shows have been around for decades, today's television programs are more sophisticated and focus more on the investigative and procedural work that requires some kind of criminal justice education. Law and Order and its spin-offs (Special Victims Unit and Criminal Intent) portray crimes from the investigation by police officers to the final stages of the trial. This unique perspective has shown police work in a new light for today's generation. These police officers also work closely with the state's attorneys and the victims. The program also introduces viewers to criminal justice professionals such as parole officers, prison guards and juvenile court officers. The many facets of these characters illustrate just how varied and exciting criminal justice careers can be.

Another popular program is Without A Trace, based on a branch of the FBI's missing person's division. Viewers know that members of the FBI are expected to have a degree in some field having to do with law enforcement in order to pursue criminal cases as an agent, increasing the prestige of a criminal justice degree, online or in a bricks and mortar school. In many cases, individuals who thought criminal justice work was limited to becoming a police officer are especially intrigued by television programs that offer alternative opportunities such as federal agent.

Perhaps one of the most innovative programs on the air today is Vega$, which most people don't think of as a law enforcement show. However, in many episodes security concerns are at the forefront of the story line. Investigating unknown gamblers, ensuring the safety of jackpots and making sure the staff aren't bribed or compromised in any way are all concerns of the security team at the casino.

Reality TV Adds Its Impact

No one can deny the profound impact of reality TV on people's opinions and interests. What may be surprising is that reality shows about law enforcement are some of the biggest successes out there. Dog the Bounty Hunter follows the day-to-day work of a man and his wife who are professional bounty hunters in Hawaii.

Those who are interested in this line of work know from watching the show that they will have to be familiar with everything from current law enforcement practices to the behavioral science of apprehending suspects. Getting a criminal justice degree online can be the first step toward getting licensed for this kind of specialized work.

American Justice makes armchair investigators out of many viewers. This unique program offers both sides of a criminal case, from the initial investigation through the actual trial, and then asks viewers what they think before revealing the jury's verdict. Some episodes have follow-up reports on older cases as well. All of these can inspire individuals who think that they would be suited to the complex, time-consuming investigative process or who believe they could have "done it better" than the people profiled.

Although television programs a few decades ago tended to idealize being a police officer, detective or sheriff's deputy, the trend now is toward realistic portrayals. Interestingly, the most realistic the programming has become, the greater the interest seems to be in pursuing a criminal justice degree online. Perhaps part of this is because viewers are coming to realize that people in the criminal justice system, although they are heroes, are merely human, just like them. Realizing this seems to have inspired a new generation to enter law enforcement, which is good for everyone's future. <bio>Andy West is a freelance writer for Virginia College.
Many law enforcement candidates react to reading comprehension questions by thinking, "This part of the test is going to really slow me down." And, to a degree this part of the test will slow you down. However, if you follow the strategies described in this article you will be able to complete your test at a steady pace and gain valuable points.

Most police entrance exams emphasize reading comprehension. Why? Because to properly perform their jobs, law enforcement officers are expected to understand and comprehend what they read.

Reading comprehension questions will typically be based on one or more situational paragraphs, or require a candidate to determine the proper course of action to take based on reading police rules and procedures.

Firstly, I would suggest you do a lot of reading before taking the test. Newspaper and magazine articles can improve your concentration and your ability to understand what you read. Read with purpose. Underscore details and ideas that appear crucial to the meaning of the articles. Identify the writer's point of view and their supporting information. When you finish with an article, summarize it. Ask yourself, what was the author's purpose in writing the article? What was the main idea. What was the article's focus, key information and words?

Another suggestion is to take practice law enforcement exams. The best practice exams will include reading comprehension sections taken directly from actual exams used by law enforcement agencies.

Here are seven proven strategies to help you pass the reading comprehension part of the law enforcement written exam:

1. Skim the answers before reading the passage. This will let you know what to look for while reading. As you read the passage, mark or circle anything that answers a question. Continue reading that passage until you're done. Don't answer the question until you've read the entire passage because you'll break your concentration.

2. Ask yourself after you read a paragraph, "What exactly did that paragraph say?" Spend a couple of seconds summarizing the contents of the paragraph. While doing this look at the paragraph to help you remember where important information is located.

3. Without fail there will be one or more questions asking you to identify the main idea. Usually a passage will have a few sentences stating the author's main idea. While reading, underline these sentences. This will save you valuable time.

4. Underline key words, phrases and facts, such as dates, names and events.

5. If you are totally confused by a sentence or phrase in the passage, read the sentence before and after the difficult sentence to clarify its meaning. If you're still confused, move on. Don't dwell too long or you'll lose valuable time.

6. Try to visualize by forming a mental picture of the events described in the passage as you read. When you are able to visualize something, it's easier to comprehend.

7. Answer the questions based on the information in the passage, not prior knowledge. If you don't agree with something stated in the passage this is not the time to argue your point. Remember your goal is to get the highest score. In this part of the test, you are being tested on your ability to read and comprehend, not your knowledge of the subject.

Do's and Don'ts

Do read actively, not passively. Pause briefly after each paragraph to think about the points made by the author. Jot down a brief outline as you go.

Don't get too concerned with details as you read a passage, especially long passages. Just take notes of where the details were in the passage. You can quickly list statistics, numbers, dates, names titles, etc.

Do pay attention to the passage structure. Is it organized chronologically, by comparison of two or more arguments, or was there some other classification system? This will help you locate details later.

Do summarize the passage. Take a few seconds to recap the main idea of the passage. This may help you answer several questions quickly.

In summary, if you follow these simple tips and strategies you will find reading comprehension test questions far easier to answer correctly. Remember read with purpose. By far the most effective method to help you hone your skills and build your confidence, besides reading newspaper and magazine articles, is to take actual practice exams used by law enforcement agencies. <bio>For more than 290 practice exam questions based on real exams used by police agencies throughout the country with instruction and detailed answer explanations for fast, focused learning, and to discover the three reasons why 70% of all police applicants fail the written exam visit: ... http://www.policeexam911.com </bio>

Any Shar Pei breeders that are not listed on the national breeder registries may not be breeders you want to talk to. If you need detailed information on local Shar Pei breeders then try your vet or local law enforcement. You can also use the Internet in your search through Shar Pei breeders.

You and your family have decided that the dog of your choice is the Shar Pei and now that you have decided what dog to get you need to go hunting for Shar Pei breeders. Always be looking to get as many Shar Pei breeders to talk to as possible because you want choices when making an important decision such as this. Sometimes it is worth the one-hour drive to make sure you get your family pet from a reputable breeder as opposed to walking across the street to deal with the wrong breeder.

The first thing you always want to find out is if a breeder is listed with any of the national breeder registries that you will find on the Internet. Ask the breeder what registry they are listed with and then confirm it for yourself. If they are not listed with a registry then ask them what standards they adhere to and what guidelines they run their business by if they are not using nationally recognized standards and guidelines.

You can never underestimate the value of the information that your vet has to offer and there is no better time to talk to your vet, or start a conversation with one, than during the process of weeding out bad Shar Pei breeders. If your vet has a strongly negative opinion about any of the Shar Pei breeders you are considering then you may want to move on and consider other breeders. Your vet only wants to see you get the best pet you can so their advice is a great resource.

It never hurts to cover all of your bases and check on a Shar Pei breeder with the local law enforcement officials. A breeder may seem okay on the surface but a quick check with the police could reveal someone that you would never want to buy a family pet from. So always do your homework and cover all of your bases by discussing your list with the local law enforcement officials.

For some reason people always look at the Internet as a way of only getting national and international information. The Internet is a great way to get any kind of information and you can use the Internet to help you weed out the bad Shar Pei breeders in your area. Sometimes people that have exceptionally bad experiences with breeders will post about that somewhere on the Internet for everyone to read. You can save yourself a lot of aggravation you do not need to go through if you just take the time to search the Internet.

Searching for a breeder is an important search and your final decision is very important to your family and your future pet so take your time and utilize all of your resources before you make your final decision.
If a Siberian husky breeder is not listed with a breeder registry then ask why. If you really want to know if a Siberian husky breeder is bad or not ask your vet and local law enforcement. Local animal rescue groups can also help you weed out bad Siberian husky breeders.

Deciding that you are getting a Siberian Husky as your next family pet is one part of the process but the most difficult part of the process is finding the right Siberian husky breeder to get your dog from. You need to start using all of the resources available to you to weed out the breeders that are nothing but trouble and you need to do this as the responsible owner to a future Siberian Husky. Taking your time and eliminating the bad breeders is what a good breeder would expect you to do and something a bad breeder will fear that you will do.

A breeder registry is an organization that sets breeding standards for the members that list with it. If you are talking to a breeder that is not listed with a breeder registry then you may not want to be buying your dog from that breeder. A breeder that is not listed with a registry is using his or her own breeding standards and that can be risky.

You should never underestimate the valuable information you can find with your vet when it comes to selecting the right Siberian husky breeder. Discuss your potential breeder choices with your vet and see if they recognize any names to avoid. If you have not chosen a vet yet then the process of selecting a breeder is the perfect time to start a discussion with a vet, as they will be just as interested in your pet's good health and well being as you are.

You could do yourself a big favor by speaking with local law enforcement about your choices for Siberian husky breeders as well and see if any of the breeders you are considering are familiar to the law at all. If you have a breeder on your list that has a bad reputation with local law enforcement then you probably want to remove that breeder from your list.

The local animal rescue groups are always in tune with what is good and bad about the different animal breeders in your area. You may want to run your list of potential Siberian husky breeders by the local animal rescue groups and see if any of the names on there stand out to them as bad or not. The animal rescue groups spend most of their time trying to help solve the situations that would require their services so they are sure to point you in the right direction.

If you do not feel comfortable talking to a particular Siberian husky breeder then do not do business with that breeder. The relationship between breeder and owner needs to be an open and comfortable relationship because you will be in touch with them for many years to come so make sure you take your time and use all of the resources at your disposal to make the right decision. <bio>Andrew Preston often speaks to animal rescue organizations about proper breeding techniques and how they apply to healthy dogs..
The world we live in is becoming increasingly more dangerous by the day. The events of September 11, 2001 are perfect example. The resources and personnel of law enforcement agencies are stretched too thin. This has led individuals to look to bodyguards for security and protection. This need for bodyguards has resulted in career opportunities that are unheard of before. Many people are rushing to fill these career opportunities.

But, before you rush out and apply for the next bodyguard job, it is important you prepare yourself. You need to know the training and skills needed to become a bodyguard. In this article, I examine the training and skills you need to become a success as a bodyguard.

Bodyguard Training:

The minimum educational requirement for a bodyguard is high school diploma. With this, you can attend schools that specialize in training bodyguards. After this training, you can then begin to apply for bodyguard jobs.

But, it must be pointed out that most bodyguards are ex law enforcement or military officers. This is not surprising. Ex law enforcement or military officers have the training and experience to do the job and do it very well. They have probably encountered most situations they will face in the job as bodyguards. In fact, they most likely have encountered more dangerous situations in their jobs as military or law enforcement officers.

Bodyguard Skills:

It takes certain skills to become a bodyguard. It is important you know these skills before you start your career as a bodyguard. If you lack the skills, you will only end up doing a poor job. Doing a poor job is the last thing you need as a bodyguard. A poor job will give you a bad reputation in the business. Once you have this bad reputation, you are finished in the business. This is because the bad reputation will precede you on your next job interview.

Below are important skills I feel you need to become a successful bodyguard:

1.You must enjoy planning. Bodyguards have to plan out their clients' movements.

Let's take for example a bodyguard for a celebrity. A celebrity will normally attend a lot of events. The bodyguard must map out how the celebrity will arrive and leave events. He will find the best routes to follow. Along with this, is figuring out exit strategies in case of emergency.

2.You must have good people skills. The bodyguard job involves dealing with people. You need the skills to deal with people at different levels.

For example, you could be the bodyguard of a business executive. Your client will prefer you be able to hold intelligent conversation with his or her business partners and clients.

3.You must enjoy being alone. There will be a lot of times where your job as a bodyguard will require being out of your client's way. It could be waiting for him or her at their home. In this case, you will have little interaction with them except to be on the look out for any intruders to their home.

It may also be waiting out in the car by yourself while your client is conducting private business. Your client will simply not want you involved in what they are doing.

It must be pointed out that while your client may need some privacy, it does not mean you can let your guard down. You must always be watching for the first sign of trouble. This way, you can quickly respond to get your client out of any trouble.

I have just covered some of the training and skills you need to become a bodyguard. There are definitely more. If you are really interested in becoming a bodyguard, I ask you get more information on it. You need to visit websites that cover the subject in more detail.

Note: You are free to reprint or republish this article.
Your safety, that of your job, co-workers and family is at the top of the list. Included in this list also is keeping your reputation in tact and preventing cyber stalkingand online defamation. Not conducting an email trace can put you at risk; something you might not have thought of.

Let's face it; people who are using email to harass someone take great steps to remain anonymous. They may or may not know exactly what they're doing but the last thing you want them to know is that you are attempting to find out their identity. You could inadvertently do just that.

That in itself is the best reason why you may want to hire a professional investigator. A professional investigator can generally trace an email and locate the sender, identify them by name, address, phone number, operating system used, their occupation, a geographical location (even if they are using a proxy server), the browser they are using, and much more.

A professional investigator that specializes in email tracing can identify the actual person behind the email account. Not just the ficticious information used to create the account. This can be accomplished even with free annonymous accounts like Hotmail, Yahoo or the free AOL accounts. It can also be accomplished if the email account has recently been canceled. B

The tools available to investigative professionals are far more sophisticated than ones you could locate and use for the same purpose but assuredly, will have a greater, safer result in a short amount of time. A do it yourself approach could make the trace more difficult should you fail and then hire a professional investigator later.

This, of course, might bring another thought to your mind; that of cost of this type of service. It's actually less costly than you might think. Yes, there are free email trace websites that will help you do an email trace but many of these haven't been updated so offer little to no viable help with your desire to locate an email.

Additionally, time is always going to be very important when attempting to locate an email sender. That's because they sometimes move on to using other email addresses or computers, which would make it even harder to locate them. The untrained person who is conducting a reverse email search may not know or find this out but continue to receive harassing emails.

Having a professional investigator do an email trace for you will also diminish the potential damage one can do to you while having free reign. The professional will have access to the latest tools available online and as well as up to date law enforcement databases to use to stop the influx of unwanted, possibly harmful emails to you.

A professional investigator can do an email trace and come up with very viable information for you.
Because you never know exactly why someone is bothering you on the Internet, it is best to engage the services of a professional investigator as soon as you recognize you're experiencing an email threat.<bio>Ed Opperman invites you to visit his cyber investigation website for all of your email search needs.
