The company prides itself on defining the American Dream because what started as a family business is now the highest volume producing direct jewelry sales/party planning company in the world. Jewels by Park Lane offers jewelry that has an unconditional satisfaction guarantee.

The headquarters for the Jewels by Park Lane Independent Consultant company are now located in Schaumburg, Illinois. It is still a private company and it now has over fifteen thousand independent sales representatives. You can buy jewelry made by Jewels by Park Lane in both the United States and in Mexico. The price to start your own Independent Consultant business ranges from thirty three dollars (US) for the "Earn your kit" starter program to almost four hundred dollars (US) for the "Deluxe" starter program kit. Potential Consultants can also purchase a website to use for their business (it, of course, is offered at an additional fee).

Jewels by Park Lane promises that consultants will not have to worry about inventory because they won't be required to stock any. They can also take advantage of a car bonus program, freedom from having to pack and deliver products and freedom from collecting on customer accounts. Jewels by Park Lane also promises a weekly commission check for its consultants. Jewels by Park Lane sales Consultants are also encouraged to recruit other sales consultants who will work for them. This down will provide the first consultant with even more earning power which will help him or her move up to different levels within the company.

Unfortunately exact details are a little sketchy and finding out more requires the inputting of personal information. Jewels by Park Lane is set up do have as much person to person contact as possible, which can be a good thing and also a bad thing.

Jewels by Park Lane resembles most other MLM programs out there. Consultants aren't required to recruit a down line, but they won't maximize their earnings without one. Also, having to give out personal information to get better details is a little bit worrisome, especially as we couldn't find anything that promised not to sell the personal information that is collected through their "contact us" portals.

The most you will be out, should you decide to become a Jewels by Park Lane Consultant, is the minimal starter kit fee. After that whether you make money or lose money is up to you, but for a company dealing with jewelry, the start up cost is very low. It is this that gives us incentive to believe that they are a legitimate company out to make their money through jewelry sales and not starter kit profits. This is also something to think about before joining.

As with any company, make sure to do your research on Jewels by Park Lane before signing any contracts. The more you know the better prepared you'll be to earn money!<bio>You can read our Unbiased, expert review of Jewels by Park Lane from Brian Garvin and Jeff West at MLM Review Kings. This article may be used royalty free provided bio and links remain intact.
Many people sing the praises of carpooling, for many different reasons. Most people agree carpooling is a good thing because it reduces the amount of gasoline and oil consumed, thereby conserving the Earth's limited resources. By reducing the amount of fossil fuels burned, carpooling also reduces the amount of vehicle exhaust in the air, decreasing the amount of carcinogens we breathe and the rate at which we destroy our ozone layer, reducing greenhouse gases.

All of these things are positives. However, most people tend to respond to how things affect their pocketbook. Most people will not carpool because it is good for the environment; they carpool because it is good for them, saving money.

The situation isn't hopeless. We need to work with human nature and not against it. Let's take a look at the "slugging" phenomenon that takes place in Washington, D.C. The reason "slugging" is such an interesting phenomenon is that no one is actually doing it out of altruistic tendencies or to save the environment.

Here is what happens: You have two groups of people, one driving into the city to work and the other leaving their cars behind. The people without cars stand in lines according to where they want to travel, and the people with cars stop by and ask for passengers traveling near where they are headed. Each car needs to have at least three people in it, and this is because the person with the car is picking up people to be permitted to drive in the HOV lane.

The HOV lane is also called the carpooling lane, and a car full of passengers may use this lane to travel. Since there are fewer people with three or more passengers in the car, this lane moves faster while other lanes become jammed each morning with traffic. That makes carpooling the quickest way to get to work in the morning =96 quicker, even, than the bus.

If everyone caught on to the wonders of carpooling and legal use of the HOV lane, it would actually slow the lane down as more cars used the lane to travel, but the result would be the other lanes speeding up because the number of cars using them would be reduced. In addition, the pollution in the city would be significantly reduced.

Of course, the point of the matter isn't that people are carpooling to do something good for the world. Without incentives such as the HOV lane and faster travel, people would rather not have other people in their cars. This system works to have people go against their natures and carpool, because the system works with those natures by giving people a reward and something everyone wants badly =96 a quick ride to work and escape from the traffic jam. <bio>Find the best deal on the auto insurance coverage you need.
It's gained a reputation of being a game for the those without class and manners, but the truth is bowling is a an ancient sport that carries with it quite a few rules about proper behavior. These rules are taken very seriously by those who frequent the alleys, so it's a very good idea for beginners to learn a bit about the sport and its expected bowling lane etiquette.

Bowling itself dates back thousands of years into the history of man. It is believed that bowling pre-dates written history. As the years marched forward, so did the game and along with it the rules of the road. From ancient man and the courts of English kings to local alleys in cities all over the world, bowling alley etiquette has evolved into what players of today expect.

Learning how to behave on the lanes is as much an important part of the game as figuring out how to score correctly. There are some major dos and don'ts when it comes to bowling lane etiquette. They include:

Do's * Get the proper gear. It is considered a major breach of bowling lane etiquette to wear street shoes on the lanes. Make sure to have on the proper shoes. Get rentals if you don't have your own. Street shoes can damage the lanes and disrupt the oil pattern on them (not to mention the fact many are not designed to handle the slick surface).

* Observe right of way. This is perhaps the number one rule of bowling lane etiquette. The general rule of play is to allow the bowler to the right of your lane to go first if you both arrive at the same time. This helps ensure that concentration isn't interrupted by two people trying to bowl simultaneously.

* Use common courtesy. Bowling is a game that many people take very seriously. Keep common courtesy and politeness in the front of your mind.

Don'ts * Interrupt bowlers. It is considered a serious breach of bowling lane etiquette to talk to bowlers when they are trying to make a shot. Let the person who has the lane concentrate.

* Heckle. While it might be fun to pick on a friend who has bowled a bad frame, it is considered very rude to do so, especially in league play. Remember common courtesy and this bowling lane rule will make perfect sense.

* Cheat. This is a serious breach of bowling lane etiquette and something that just shouldn't be done. Keep the game clean and fun and let the pins and the score fall where they may. While it is nearly impossible to cheat with computerized scoring, some manual set ups still exist.

* Talk too loud or yell. Rowdy groups on the lanes can cause problems for everyone in the vicinity. Have fun, but try to keep the ruckus to a minimum.

Bowling is an ancient sport that has evolved through the years. From ancient man and stone objects to modern man and computerized scoring, the game might have changed a bit, but the basic rules of the road remain. The game is meant to be fun and it does carry with it a need for good sporting conduct. <bio>Get all the latest in bowling know how from the one and only true source at http://www.bowlingquestions.com

Be sure to check our our bowling lane page. </bio>

Everyone who loves their sport knows that every time you play, you have to be in it for 100%. In bowling, we make sure that our technique is fine-tuned and that we always choose the best equipment we can. We have a ball for the first shot of the frame, a spare ball, and maybe even a hook ball. Whether we own the latest $250.00 state-of-the-art shoes or rent a reliable old pair form the bowling alley, we know that bowling shoes give us an edge as well. Unfortunately=85or fortunately, as the case may be, there is one thing at the bowling alley that you don't have complete control over; and that is the lane itself.

Lanes are like snowflakes=85

Just like snowflakes, you'll never find two lanes that are exactly alike. We spend most of our game figuring out and overcoming those differences, whether we realize it or not. But what makes the lanes different?

Where do you bowl? Older lanes, like older homes, have "character." They'll develop wear marks and divots, and if not refinished on a regular basis, will definitely cause your ball to make some unexpected moves. If the lane is damaged, it can interfere with the trajectory of your ball in a major way.

Many bowling alleys are choosing to simply cover their old, hardwood floors with a synthetic material that looks like wood instead of replacing them completely. The softer surface over worn wooden boards can impact on your ball's performance.

The brand new bowling alleys have fully synthetic surfaces on their lanes. While they look the same as wood, they are smoother and slipperier. If you're used to bowling on an old hardwood lane, it might take some practice to get used to the new surface.

Oil helps the ball go `round=85

Bowling alleys use thin coats of oil to help preserve the playing surface of the lanes. The oil is applied in one of many patterns, each pattern affecting the ball in a different manner.

Sometimes the bowling alley attendant might be a little too heavy on the oil, causing the balls to slip and slide instead of grabbing hold and rolling. Too little oil, whether by overuse of the lane between oilings or too little application of oil, can cause your ball to grab hold too early and use up all its power before it reaches the back end.

Because of the imperfections in the oil-application process, even lanes within the same bowling alley will be different. The same lane will be different in the evening than when it was freshly oiled in the morning, too.

So, my "lucky" lane is not all in my head?

Chances are, your "lucky" lane is special to you because of the way its imperfections compliment your own unique bowling style. There are many reasons why no two lanes bowl the same way. Get friendly with the workers at your bowling alley, and they will be able to tell you the best lanes to bowl. They can also tell you about how the oil is applied and the best techniques to use on that particular oil pattern. Lanes that are played on more often are likely to have less, or dried out oil and should be avoided.

Of course=85the easiest way to figure out what your bowling conditions are is to take advantage of the practice round before the scoring starts! With a little know how, you can make any lane your "lucky" lane. <bio>ImproveBowling offers a bowling guide ebook that is great for bowlers interested in improving their bowling game, especially for beginner and recreational bowlers.
The other day I was riding and found myself in a road paving project area. This was a project on a 4-lane road with 1/2 of the two lanes on my side paved... and the other 1/2 getting prepared for paving to continue. The problem is that the 1/2 that was paved was the left lane and this caused a height difference andquot;ridgeandquot; of approximately 1 - 2 inches of asphalt between the two lanes (of course I was in the right andquot;low-sideandquot; lane).

This wouldn't have been a problem if I could have stayed in the lane I was in... but once into the paving area all cars had to merge from the right to the left lane. Speeds on this road were about 40 miles per hour and on a normal motorcycle this would have been scary enough! On a chopper (let alone a wide rear tire) it was one of the scariest things I have had to do. In the moment before the transition I tried to slow down as much as I could in the andquot;bumper to bumperandquot; traffic, gripped the handlebars firmly, and then once there was an opening in the traffic to move over I tried to make the andquot;cutandquot; at as sharp of an angle as was possible.

Let me just say that andquot;I made itandquot; but it was really an unstable situation for a few seconds. It made me remember why Driver Education schools teach you that andquot;if your tire goes off the road... stay off the road and slow way down... and then sharply turn back on when there is a safe margin to do soandquot; and that is in a 4-wheel CAR!

I think that was the closest I have come to andquot;going downandquot; on a bike in over 20 years... so, I am writing this down so I don't forget. When you have to cross over and onto a ridge that is running parallel to your path of travel:

Slow down as much as possible (I didn't do this enough). Get a large safety margin between other traffic (Wait for a large opening). Get a firm grip on the handlebars. Try to cross-over the ridge at a strong angle (don't try to ease up on the ridge). I didn't do any of these things very well and it almost ended in a crash. For me, my biggest mistake was #1... so next time I am faced with this I will be sure to slow down much more and get a better angle on the ridge.

Ride safe!
Of all the driving mistakes committed on our roads, incorrect signaling and changing lanes incorrectly are one of the most common. If you ask drivers what they most dislike about other drivers, nine times out of ten you would hear the response "drivers not changing lanes properly". Making mistakes when changing lanes and signaling can often result in serious or even fatal injury. For people serious about learning defensive driving, lane change techniques are a vital skill to learn.

SIGNALING - GET INTO GOOD HABITS

It is not always a legal requirement to signal when driving. In some states, you are only required to signal if your change in movement is likely to affect drivers around you. For example, when driving down a deserted freeway at 4.00 am with no other drivers for miles, it may not be necessary for you to signal a turn. Having said that, it is wise to "always" signal turns and lane changes. From a defensive driving standpoint, if you signal on every occasion, no matter what the circumstances, you create a habit which kicks in on autopilot, helping to keep you safe and accident-free.

The important point about signaling is to ensure you are sending clear information. Take care to signal at just the right moment. Signaling too soon or too late causes other drivers confusion about your intentions. For example, oncoming drivers can interpret your signal to mean you want to turn later or sooner than you really intend.

Some drivers deliberately do not use turn signals, believing that by forecasting a lane change other drivers will counter their move by closing their "gap" in the lane. Although this does happen, fortunately it only occurs in the minority of cases. Most drivers WILL make a space for you if they know you want to switch lanes.

DEFENSIVE DRIVING LANE CHANGE TECHNIQUES

Learn and developing these defensive driving skills for correctly changing lanes will go a long way towards ensuring you remain safe and accident-free on the roads.

Scan the road ahead and plan in advance. Before changing lanes, scanning the road ahead and checking what other drivers are doing is vitally important. Things to watch out for include pedestrians about to step on to the road, other vehicles reducing speed, and drivers about to merge across your lane. Keeping an eye on the brake lights of vehicles in front of you is also a good indicator of trouble ahead. Cars beginning to slow down will usually hit their brakes giving a vital warning to alert drivers behind.

Monitor the rear vision mirror. The rearview mirror gives a much wider view than the one provided by your side mirrors. The rearview mirror should be checked with a quick glance, simultaneously keeping your main focus on the road ahead. Things to watch out for when glancing in your rearview mirror include traffic coming up faster than you are driving. Also keep your eyes peeled for vehicles signaling to change lanes behind you who might be increasing speed to pass your vehicle.

Always signal your intentions. Communicating with other drivers is the most important part of defensive driving. Signaling is done to communicate to other drivers what you are about to do. By signaling to other drivers, you give them the chance to slow down and allow your lane change to be made safely. For example, drivers in front of you who is planning a maneuver may stay put if they see your signal. It always wise to remember that people often make unexpected moves. Don't take anything for granted and get into the habit of anticipating the worst!

Don't forget your blind spot. Turn your head and take a quick glance over your shoulder to ensure there is no other driver in the lane beside you. If you do see a vehicle there, stay in your own lane until the vehicle has gone past.

Recheck ahead=85.(again) before changing lanes. Immediately before turning the steering wheel to navigate your lane change, check once again to make no driver is slowing down or straying into your path. Move gradually into your lane change with only a slight adjustment of the steering wheel. If it is not possible to change lanes when you check the blind spot, cancel the maneuver and prepare to begin all over again.

Don't change lanes at intersections. Make sure you plan your lane changes either before and after intersections where side roads, streets or crossroads meet the road you are using.

When it comes to defensive driving, lane change techniques and signaling correctly are important skills to learn and implement into your daily driving. Make sure these are skills YOU learn and become familiar with, your life may depend on it! <bio>Jean Littman is co-owner of http://www.defensivedriversense.com which provides quality resources on defensive driving lane change techniques, advanced driving and traffic safety programs. </bio>

Could your score use improvement?

Here you are, at last! The roar of balls screaming down polished wooden lanes, the thunder of pins toppling, the delicious fragrance of the cafe and cheers heralding the triumph of a teammate... intense!

You've bowled enough to know that it's a serious sport. Closing your eyes, holding your breath and hoping for the best as you hurl a house ball towards the waiting pins is not your best choice...and you know it.

But just how does that "pro" in the next lane over make his bowling ball do those awesome tricks?

His ball screams from one side of the lane to the other, only to come out of nowhere, right into that sweet spot and "STRIKE!" again and again.

The answer is simple. By taking advantage of the ball's center of gravity, he gains incredible control over how his ball moves down the lane.

How does the center of gravity work?

Out of all the factors that can affect how a bowling ball moves down the lane, the center of gravity is the one that can make the biggest difference to the beginning bowler. Look at the balls in the pro shop. You will notice a small, off-color dot. This mark denotes the center of gravity on that ball. Just beneath this spot are a couple of ounces of extra weight, which allow the ball to roll straight when the finger holes have been drilled. The ball would wobble down the lane without this extra weight.

Clever bowlers realized that by drilling the holes slightly off of the center of gravity, the ball would be heavier on one side, shifting the center of gravity to that side. The ball would react differently when thrown, hooking to one side or the other, ensuring better control of the ball and hitting more pins, depending on the placement of the grip holes. Amazing!

How can you take advantage of the center of gravity when bowling?

Your local pro shop can help. When you go to purchase your bowling ball, simply have your pro watch you bowl. He has the experience to know just how much "off center" to drill your ball depending on where you stand, how strong you are, the weight and makeup of the ball you choose, how you throw and whether you are right or left handed. He will know just what you need. And the best part... Most shops will drill for free when you purchase your ball!

Taking advantage of your center of gravity is the first step on the path to become a serious bowler. The difference in having a ball with a center of gravity set just for you makes the single biggest difference to a beginning bowler and will help unleash your potential...taking you that next step in your bowling performance. With bigger scores to prove it! <bio>ImproveBowling offers a bowling guide ebook that is great for bowlers interested in improving their bowling game, especially for beginner and recreational bowlers.
The rich men with the big bucks and shiny, expensive cars are almost always being chauffeured around. They don't realise that they are missing out on something -- the real joy of owning a car is to drive it. Well, of course, if you don't drive properly, then even a thing as pleasurable as driving can seem as an arduous task. To drive a car smoothly, here are a few tips that will come in handy. (These are based on a right-hand drive vehicle, so you can modify the tips as required if you use a left-hand drive).

First, you should find out about the feeding mechanism that is required for steering. What that means in essence is that you should avoid crossing over your arms. Basically, neither of your hands should be at a level much lower than 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock, if you visualise the steering wheel as a wall clock. This gives you much better control when it comes to the cars handling, and even if you are a driver of mediocre capabilities, you can circumvent tough spots easily using this mechanism.

Lane driving is extremely important and you should always stick to your lane whilst driving. If you are shifting lanes (for a necessary reason hopefully, otherwise avoid it), use the indicator (blinker) at all times -- each and every time. For instance, if you are turning to the left, and you need to move into the left hand side lane first, indicate left, switch to the left lane and after that take the left turn. Following lane driving essentials can save people from accidents.

The gears are meant to run the car, and not the other way around. It is a common tendency to accelerate unnecessarily in order to shift to a higher gear. Often when you shift to a higher gear just for the fun of it, you end up overheating the engine. Also, people tend to race through the gears to get to a higher gear -- it is best not to. You should preferably maintain the car in a low gear and at higher revs; that lets the car come to a halt much quicker.

Have you ever experienced a situation in which while going up an incline you are suddenly faced with a situation where the car which is in front of you has come to a sudden stop and so has the one right behind you -- you'd have to stop too, finding yourself in a pickle. Well, you would come out of this situation looking good if you can follow these simple steps. The first thing to do is to pull up the handbrake so that the car doesn't start rolling back. Then, shift to the first gear and let the clutch out slowly, while accelerating in a normal fashion. At the same time, keep your left hand on the handbrake (for a left-hand drive, your right) and release the handbrake as you accelerate and release the clutch -- this will guarantee your car moves forward, and not even an inch back. Not that difficult a procedure, as you can see.

A smooth drive entails a relaxed shifting of gears -- you should not feel a jerk as you switch from one gear to the next. To achieve this, always let out the clutch slowly while shifting gears. Also, try not to accelerate and break too much.

These were only a few tips on driving which can, hopefully, help you maximize your car's performance. Now you can hit the roads with confidence.<bio>Van Pooling Rental Cars Save Money on Gas</bio>

There's a spanking new hybrid in your garage. You're itching to speed up on the highways and show off what you got from your refinance home loan, but please wait. Do you still remember how to drive with care?

The hot hybrid cars

The new small and efficient hybrid cars run on gas and battery. That's how it got its name. It guzzles less gas and you get 10-15 miles per gallon than your old gas-thirsty pick-up. You reason that it's time now to change to save the environment, that's why you got a refinance home loan.

Your choice was a Honda Civic hybrid. It runs without the drag and is wind resistant giving a nice feel when you go full throttle. Whether on a dirt road or asphalt, you'll do fine.

In traffic, your car shuts off automatically; saving you tons of gas money, and anytime you can switch from gas to electric without batting an eyelash. What a nice buy indeed.

Driving safely

A funny guy quipped that safe driving is getting away from the crazy driver behind you and ahead of you. So zoom ahead. But kidding aside, there's a grain of truth to the joke. Distance between you and the drivers ahead and behind you should give you room to maneuver.

With all those news stories about car accidents and road rage, you should practice defensive driving and shore up on patience. You need to practice your skill rounding the bends and the treacherous curves.

Curves are the most dangerous especially when driving at night. Better stay on the right lane all the time. Don't be tempted to cross to the other lane no matter how urgent your mission is. It's your life, your car, and there's your refinance home loan to settle.

Another driving obstacle is driving along on 4 lane highways. As always, stay on the right hand lane. If the coast is clear you can overtake a car and cross to the left lane. If an oncoming car loses its brakes, it'll veer further to the left. So you're safe from head on collisions staying on the right lane.

Traffic rules were not put up just for the heck of it. There is science here. So heed these and you'll enjoy your Honda Civic for years and pay off your refinance home loan body and soul intact.

Other friendly reminders

Don't drink and drive. If at a party, better sleep your drunkenness on the coach or let somebody sober drive you home. Also avoid making calls on your mobile phone while driving. Don't get distracted. Keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

With winter calling, better prep your car. Check the battery, wipers, and the tire pressure. When on the road, you can't be too careful.

Your passengers' lives depend on your careful driving, and the life you save be yours. Just because you got a sleek hybrid from your refinance home loan does not mean you can drive recklessly. Your car may be fully paid but your loan is not. <bio>Need a big purchase, like a car or a home? I've been driving for over thirty-five years, 18 professionally, and it's not getting easier. As a matter of fact, drivers are getting bolder. According to the dictionary, yield means to give up to another and or give up to pressure. I think a busy highway or any traffic would be reason to yield to others coming from behind at a higher speed that is carrying 2,000lbs or greater of moving pressure. I really never did stop and calculate exactly how many tons of moving metal could possibly be coming your way, if you know what I mean.

Merging onto a highway with flowing traffic can be a very dangerous maneuver, especially if you do not know what the meaning of a yield sign is, or what one looks like. The last time I looked in a defensive driving book, and I'm sure they are not out to trick us on any changes. It means yield for other traffic (give up to another and or give up to pressure.), or stop if necessary! So why do a lot of vehicle drivers assume that highway traffic has to let them in if they run out of roadway when they're trying to merge on?

The key to safe driving is not to assume anything. The proper way to merge onto a highway should be a quickset plan. The path ahead of you should be clear and have a long enough roadway to allow you to get up to the speed of highway traffic. The following is a defensive driving procedure on merging into traffic safely.

When the highway traffic coming up along side your vehicle is behind you, put your signal on and quickly accelerate your vehicle up to the same speed if the path ahead of you is clear. The goal here is to get up to the same speed as traffic so they cannot catch you. If you're doing the same speed as the traffic behind you, they can't catch you unless they're speeding and or your slowing down. If you think you cannot accelerate to their speed, ease off the gas pedal and let the vehicles go by, then quickly pick up speed again to stay ahead of the traffic coming up from the lane you want to merge into, if it is clear ahead of you.

When necessary, stop if you have to let all traffic go by and merge in only after the lane you want to merge into is clear. The vehicle traffic in the lane you want to merge into should not have to brake to let you in. Sometimes you will find a courteous driver easing back on the gas pedal to let you in. Quickly accelerate and move in, only if safe and clear ahead of your vehicle.

This maneuver should be practiced with a recognized driving school instructor, or an adult with a lot of driving experience. It is a very important part of defensive driving. <bio>Owned and operated a Driving School and taught over 2000 kids and adults how to drive. Now running a tee time golf course site http://www.golfanchor.net that helps take the pressure off of every day driving. </bio>

It you have been driving for any length of time, you most certainly have come across one or more occasions where you were caught speeding. It is always an unpleasant experience to be pulled over by a police officer and to be handed a speeding ticket.

However, there are ways you could be savvier and avoid getting caught speeding:

* On a road with more than two lanes, drive in the middle lane. When you drive in the middle lane, nestled in the middle a bunch of speeding cars, you are less likely to be picked up by the radar detector and by the police officers. Instead, vehicles in front of or on the side of this speeding pack will more likely be caught for speeding. Driving in the middle lane also allows you to spot police officers easier than driving in the outside lanes

* Avoid changing lanes frequently as it tends to draw attention from the police who are on the lookout for vehicles weaving in and out of the lanes. It is best to stay in one lane and drive at around the same speed as those cars around you. It will make you less noticeable to the police and less likely to be picked up by the radar detectors.

* Drive up behind or beside another motorist who is driving over the speed limit and then take note of his speed, After having done so, slow down and pull back a bit so that your speed is slightly slower than his. So in case the car in front suddenly brakes to avoid a speed trap, you will have enough time to slow down before the cops can record your speed, while the car in front will be more likely to be fined a speeding ticket.

However, if you still get pulled over despite the above precautions, you could still possibly wiggle your way out of a speeding ticket with just a warning from the police officer:

* Having a good attitude helps. Addressing the officer respectfully, referring to him or her as andquot;Officerandquot; and paying close attention to what the officer is saying will help. Furthermore, if this is your first infraction and you did not go too much over the speed limit, the police officer may be inclined to just give you a warning.

* Having a bad attitude and cursing at the police officer will only result in a hefty fine. If the officer sees that you are not taking the situation seriously, the officer is more likely to go ahead with the citation in order to teach you a lesson.

* Do not admit to the police officer that you did actually break the speed limit. Doing so would limit your option in court and leave you no room to plead not guilty in court. If you take full responsibility while the officer is writing up the speeding ticket, the officer will testify to that in court. You would have lost the case on the spot, and you would have to pay the full penalty.

If you still get a speeding ticket though, it might then be a good idea to consult with attorneys who specialize in traffic violations, or with retired police officers who provide speeding ticket consultations, as their expertise may help you take advantage of lesser known loopholes. <bio>For more tips on how to beat a Speeding Ticket, visit Susan's site at http://www.beating-a-speeding-ticket.info.
A driver is desperately trying to make a business appointment and fiddles with the phone to call ahead that she is running late. Another flips through a portfolio of CDs trying to find just the right music selection. Both overestimate their abilities and swerve momentarily into the next lane.

In today's busy world, people often find themselves multi-tasking; and unfortunately, drivers are taking this trend to the road. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), not only do the majority of Americans view driving as a routine task (i.e., not worthy of special attention), 50% of all crashes involve driver "inattention."

Safercar.gov agrees. It says 90% of vehicles in "fatal, single-vehicle rollovers involved routine driving maneuvers" and 85% of "rollover-related fatalities are single-vehicle crashes." Based on these statistics, driver behavior seems to play a crucial role in fatal rollover crashes.

At the same time that drivers are being implored to practice safe and attentive driving, automotive engineers are also eager to create new technologies to help increase roadway safety. Isn't there some fancy device that could warn a driver when he drifts into the next lane? React when another vehicle is in his blind spot? Apply the brakes before a crash?

Pre-crash mitigation systems attempt to combat some of the common causes of automobile accidents through warnings and automatic adjustments. Such systems are the focus of research initiatives into roadway safety and include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and side alert systems.

In a forward collision warning system, the vehicle's system literally senses the distance between it and the vehicle or object ahead of it in the lane. Predicting the possibility of an accident by sensing the distance between slower moving and stopped vehicles ahead, it warns the driver when appropriate. If a crash occurs, the system initializes precautionary measures -- such as pretensioning motorized safety belts and applying brakes. Indeed, active braking in the seconds before a collision can play a major role in crash energy reduction.

According to NHTSA, some 200,000 accidents every year are due to lane changes. To help reduce the number of these accidents, lane departure warning systems have been designed. They caution drivers when their vehicles leave their intended lanes. Using a monocular camera mounted behind the windshield, the lane departure warning system's software programs estimate lane width and road curvature, determine the vehicle's heading and lateral position and initialize a tactile, visual or audible alert to its driver when he or she crosses a line.

It's not difficult to guess, then, what side alert systems do. Using infrared sensing and other technologies, such systems help drivers become aware of vehicles in side blind spots. In some models, these sensors are integrated into mirrors, taillights and side fascia. The side blind spot region is scanned for temperature changes to detect a vehicle, a visual indication can be given in mirrors, and, when necessary, an audible alert can be issued. The technology is so advanced, sensors ignore stationary roadside objects and are immune to noise.

Once an automotive engineer has cameras, IR sensors and radars on a car, there is an opportunity to imagine and develop many more products. And, as automotive engineers perfect these systems, they are likely to become more widely available to consumers.<bio>Mike Trudel, Freelance Writer.
Ever since its creation thousands of years ago, bowling has become a sport that people of all ages can enjoy and millions around the world do. Minimally physical, fairly fast-paced and generally quite affordable, there's just something about bowling that hooks people quick. Those who decide to really delve into the sport will likely find themselves shopping for a bowling ball of their own.

Getting a personal bowling ball is a great idea for league players and even casual enthusiasts who play a bit more than once in a while. Shopping for a ball can present a bit of quandary, however. Here's what to consider in a bowling ball:

* Budget. Balls can get rather expensive. It's not a bad idea to set a budget before doing some serious shopping. Very inexpensive balls can roll in at about $50, but professional grade ones will cost in the hundreds or more. It is possible to find good buys on all types of balls by shopping around and even considering used or form lane balls, but many prefer to have their very own, brand new ball.

* Ball type. A bowling ball can have different surface material. This material will help determine its performance when the ball hits the lane. The better the ball, generally, the more friction it provides. This gives a player more control over the ball as it makes its way down a slick lane. The different surfaces include plastic, urethane, reactive resin and particle, or pro-active. Plastic, or polyester, is generally the most affordable and provides the least amount of friction.

This ball is considered a beginner's tool. The urethane bowling ball offers a little more control at a slightly higher price. The reactive resin bowling ball provides more hook possibility and power than the other two options. The pro-active ball is considered more of a tournament player's weapon. It offers the most friction and the best reaction in oil. This type of ball is generally the most expensive.

* Weight. This is another very important consideration. The standard rule of thumb is to find a ball that is roughly about 10 percent of a person's own body weight. Some people might feel more comfortable with a ball that is slightly lighter or heavier, however.

Before taking the plunge and buying a bowling ball, it's not a bad idea to play with several different weights to see what feels the best. The results on the lane are the most important consideration here, even above the standard rule of thumb.

* Color, style. The appearance of the ball might not be the most important consideration for game play, but it can be for morale. Find a ball that not only fits budget and design choice, but all appearance choice for a truly ideal purchase. Balls come in a variety of colors and styles. Basic black is not the only option by a long shot.

Buying a personal bowling ball can be a great investment for someone who likes to roll a lot. Rather than having to adjust to a different ball every game, this investment puts power in a player's hands. <bio>Get all the latest in bowling know how from the one and only true source at http://www.bowlingquestions.com

Be sure to check our our bowling ball page. </bio>

Thousands more people every month are making the decision to start carpooling with fellow employees to work, especially when they commute to work. Typically people who commute thirty minutes or longer each way should try to make sure that they carpool to work. The environment is becoming more fragile each and everyday and without people doing the right thing, which is protecting it then soon there will terrible consequences. If you value the world and everyone you care about then you should care about the air we all breathe in on a daily basis. If you can help the environment become a safer place by carpooling to work then don't you think you could make the adjustment to driving with a co-worker to work?

There are now lots of carpool parking lots where you can take your vehicle to and park it for the day while at work and then after work you get dropped off at it and continue home. If enough people started doing this then soon the environment would start becoming a more pleasant place to live. It takes more then a handful of people from different regions to make a difference and everyone needs to unite as one on this situation and try doing something about it.

The government has now begun opening up lanes of most major highways for commuters travelling with more then one passenger in the vehicle. This means if you carpool to work you can use the commuter lane which is basically an express lane that will help you beat rush hour traffic. The time it takes to stop at a carpool parking lot you'll now start saving by being able to drive in a much less congested lane of the highway. A lot of people only began carpooling because they would then be able to avoid rush hour traffic, and if this is what it takes for people to start helping the environment then so be it. As long as the governments continue adding carpooler lanes onto major highways I feel more and more people will start adapting to carpooling.

Another reason it seems carpooling is becoming more popular is due to the increase in gas prices that everyone is dealing with. A lot of people can't afford the gas prices that are currently present in most countries and with this a lot of people are forced to carpool. Now although high gas prices aren't meant to help the environment through more people carpooling, it would as though indirectly it's been done.

There are lots of reasons why you should be carpooling to work with fellow co-workers and many of them involve you saving time and money so there is really no reason why more people don't start carpooling. If you save money and time then there isn't much else that can be offered to entice you to saving the environment, so if this doesn't do it what will be needed? I hope people can begin to start coming to their senses and start working towards cleaning the environment up.<bio>Chicago Car Shipping Affordable Car Moving</bio>

Carpet is a great all purpose flooring to have in your home. It looks great, is comfortable and is very affordable compared to other types of flooring. It is not without its share of problems however. Read this article and learn about two of the more common types of carpet problems.

One common type of carpet problem that typically affects higher end carpets is called pile reversal. Pile reversal is caused when the carpet fibers actually shift. You have probably noticed that carpet appears to have a dark side and a light side depending on which way you look at it. When pile reversal occurs you can see what looks like a dark section on the carpet usually in the pattern of a wavy line. It looks a little like a water mark. Pile reversal can not be fixed and is not considered a defect as it is a natural trait of carpet.

The other common problem with carpet is traffic lane gray. This occurs when the carpet fibers are worn down from foot traffic. The traffic wears down the carpet fibers changing the way it reflects light. Since it no longer reflects as much light it appears darker. This results in traffic lanes that appear dirtier than the rest of the carpet. If you get up close however you will see that it is actually not dirty at all. Traffic lane gray can also not be corrected as the carpet is damaged. You can help prevent it though by vacuuming often and rearranging your furniture to change the wear patterns in your home.

As I said earlier, carpet does have its share of problems. Most of them are minor however and many can be avoided with regular maintenance. Good luck with your carpet and remember to have it cleaned by a professional on a regular basis. <bio>Go to http://www.thecarpetcleanerlist.com/madison.htm for information on carpet cleaning. </bio>

We're all here to have FUN!

At first glance, bowling looks as simple as throwing a heavy plastic ball down a shiny wooden hallway in order to knock down ten pins at the end. As you'll soon find out, it's so much more! It's a sport that requires physical strength and coordination and mental strategies that are second to none.

Whether you're just going bowling with friends or are starting in a league, you're here to have fun! There are 8 basic rules of etiquette to follow to make the game more enjoyable for everyone:

1. Mind your manners. It's important to follow the rules of any bowling alley you visit, to be polite to staff and courteous to fellow bowlers. Some of the machinery is dangerous, and you can be hurt badly by engaging in horseplay.

2. Wear appropriate attire. Loose, comfortable clothing, socks and bowling shoes are a must. Most people don't relish the idea of putting their tootsies where thousands have gone before, but it is a necessary evil. Not only do bowling shoes protect the finish on the lanes, they protect you from slipping and consequential injuries. If you bowl regularly, you can purchase a pair of your own at the pro shop in your bowling alley or at many shoe stores.

3. Remain behind the foul line. As tempting as it might be to get closer to the pins (They seem so far away at first!), any ball bowled from over the line is considered "dead." In other words, it doesn't count!

4. Give way to the bowler on your right. Instead of rushing to bowl as soon as it's your turn, always give way to a bowler in the lane to your right who is ready to go. If you allow other bowlers to concentrate on their games, they will afford you the same courtesy.

5. Roll, don't pitch the ball. Releasing your ball on an upward swing, or worse yet, pitching it overhand, will damage the lane and, more often than not, end up in the gutter. Release the ball on the forward swing when your arm is lowest to the ground.

6. Cover any extra holes in your ball. If you're bowling with a ball that has additional holes in it, the rules state you must cover them with the palm of your hand before releasing the ball. If you don't the ball doesn't count and is considered "dead."

7. Keeping it out of the gutter. We all get them in the beginning. The dreaded gutter ball can be disheartening at first. A gutter ball cannot contribute to a score. With practice, you'll learn how to keep the ball in the lane. In some leagues, they've modified the rules. If you bowl a gutter ball and it hops out of the gutter and knocks pins down, the pins do count. Be sure to ask what to do if this happens to you.

8. If you have a question, ask. The staff at your bowling alley will be happy to answer questions about anything related to bowling. From the rules of the game to how to complete a scorecard, they are there to help you.

By following these 8 basic rules of etiquette at the bowling alley, everyone will have more fun while learning to bowl! <bio>ImproveBowling offers a free bowling e-course that is great for bowlers interested in bowling tips for improving their skills.
The decision I made took me out of character. It went against the grain of my early life experience and clashed with how I've become as an adult.

This decision has left me feeling part-whole - more spirited - part scared - uncomfortable and confused. It really took me outside my comfort box.

As a child I remember people often making comments like, 'Children should be seen and not heard.' I remember kids I went to school with telling me I couldn't sing. I can remember my opinion being laughed at in a classroom and family asking me to make 'Less noise.'

As a result of all of these comments I learned to keep my mouth shut, keep my opinion to myself and live a quite almost monkish existence.

Then at 6am one morning, while out for a walk on a country lane I had an uncontrollable urge to shout.

It wasn't that I wanted to shout anything in particular. I wasn't angry, frustrated or fed up. I just wanted to shout, 'Hello', 'Thank you', and 'Yes I am here.'

It felt so good. I wanted to do it again. But louder. So I did. Then I wanted to laugh. And it wasn't just a quite laugh. It was a really good belly laugh.

As I'm writing this I understand that my spirit wanted to raise the roof and let some more of the hidden me out.

You see it's all very well being 'spiritual' - meditating, understanding, being agreeable, showing empathy and all that, but it's quite another thing to be 'spirited.'

Being spirited might mean allowing yourself to make a little noise, letting your voice be heard, perhaps not complying to protocol - or the norm - when you don't agree with it.

Having let out my voice I was faced with the urge to dance - the part of me that is uncomfortable was pleased I was at home by this stage and not still walking a country lane - I mean what would it be like to be caught dancing in a country lane at 6am in the middle of nowhere?

Then throughout the week I've had the urge to put music on - rather than sit and read or meditate - to speak at a higher volume than usual - shout thanks up to the sky when something good happens rather than bowing my head. And do you know something?

It feels more like REAL spirited living than all that quite stuff.

When someone seeks me out as their coach they are often frustrated at circumstances or looking to accelerate their growth - in other words find how they can have what they want and get rid of what they don't want.

What I've found from my experience with REAL SPIRIT is that I want to live with more of the kind of spirit - shouting with glee and dancing and laughing. It made me feel more inspired and enthused.

When we're inspired and enthused we are on the journey to having everything. It also means we digest every experience that comes our way in a more positive light.

Three things to try:

1. I dare you to shout!

2. At dinner time, throw your head back and shout thank you for the food.

3. Put some music on loud and just allow your body to do what it wants

With Love and good wishes

Neil <bio>CommunitySoul takes a holistic approach to the way we think and grow, both at work and in our personal lives.
